BEWARE!!!!! On Nov 19, 2014 I placed this order with Fingerhut. Here is what happened on my order. I called Fingerhut and ordered a computer via phone for 329.99. I also gave them a promotion code NC676 that was for an order of 200.00 or more and get 50.00 off. This promo code is good until Dec 5, 2012. I only got 20.00 off for the promo code and not 50.00. I also requested that it be shipped express so I paid 10.00 more to have it expressed . Now it's 11/23/2014 and this Computer is still setting somewhere in a warehouse and has NOT even been picked up by UPS.
I called UPS via phone and they told me that this item has a tracking number but has NOT be picked up by UPS. They also told me that it was to be sent ground and not express. I've been checking everyday since I ordered it and it's showing NOT been picked up. I called Fingerhut Call Center and got nowhere from these RUDE people. This call center must be located in China because you cannot understand a word they are telling you. I'm very upset about this and will be calling their corp office come Monday Morning. The corp phone number for Fingerhut is 952-656-3700. Why do I say they need a class action suit against them. They are charging for express shipment when it's not extra cost to them. This Item was going to be sent ground by UPS even without me paying the extra Express shipping. So, how many others have been scammed by Fingerhut? They also should be sitting in court for NOT taking promo codes that they give you. I'm taking them to court!!!! I'M VERY PISSED OFF ABOUT THIS.

I placed 4 orders with this company and opened an account with them. I did not receive 2 of the orders. I called in to report them & was told they would send me forms in the mail that I needed to fill out and send back. I never received the forms. I contacted them again & was told there were no notes saying that I ever called in reporting missing items & they would not help me & would continue billing me for items I did not receive. The employee's name that I spoke to was Seth. They refuse to even speak to me any further regarding the situation and he stated that he does not have a supervisor that could even help me. He told me that it was my fault the employee that I spoke to did not do their job correctly.

I have never ever applied for a Fingerhut card. I get calls saying my account is delinquent but cannot get anyone to give me any information. I have never had a Fingerhut account. I was told that I should run a credit report on myself to see if it shows up that I am delinquent on a Fingerhut account. I don't see why I should have to do that when I never had an account.

Tried to order products using Fingerhuts Fresh Start credit, you cannot use promo codes or discounts. The product plus tax, shipping and handling totalled $5.98 more than my account allowed, they also wanted a $30 down payment, which was fine. But I had no option to add the $5.98 to my $30 down payment. It was either pay in full or remove items from my cart. Well it was only one item. But if they accepted the promo code of $20 off ANY ORDER OF $100 or more my order would have went through. But when I entered it, a pop up came up that stated, fresh start orders are not eligible for promo codes. Also it was a jacket that I was ordering, so I put in the code for zipup...that was for free shipping on ALL OUTWEAR... IT SAID IT WASN'T ELIGIBLE... I do believe a jacket is outer wear. Fingerhut is a rip off that takes advantage of people who are already struggling.

I received an email advertising Ray Ban sunglasses. I actually thought it was the RayBan website. I placed an order, but at no time did it tell me I had to set up an account with Fingerhut first. I ordered, I gave my Visa # and I was given an Order Confirmation # which consisted of 4 digits. I then realized that this was not in fact RayBan and I started to read how you have to have a Fingerhut account. Thinking maybe my order didn't go through, I tried to contact Customer Service only to find out that you can't actually talk to anyone until you provide your last 4 digits of your social security #. I don't know about in the U.S. but here in Canada that is considered a privacy issue and no retailer is allowed to ask for that info unless I'm applying for credit which I am not.
I simply want to speak to someone but their lines will not allow you to get past this question. Somehow I managed to get a hold of someone on the sales line, but she didn't know anything and told me that my confirmation order couldn't be right, as it should be a 6-digit number. So I checked my bank account and the money has been taken but I have no way of knowing if the product is being shipped and no way of cancelling. I am extremely angry with them and mostly with myself for not realizing who this was before ordering.

I bought a pair of Dan Post sidewinder Boots from Fingerhut. I seen the same boots on Dan Post Website for 75.00 dollars less. Since Fingerhut is the middle man, they are considerably very high on reselling the Manufacturer's merchandise. I know they Help people rebuild their credit but unfortunately they are very very overpriced and are ripping Consumers off. If you can try and buy straight from the manufacturer, you will get treated fair. Fingerhut is ripping their Customers off plus they charge for shipping when you buy merchandise. Even Amazon wouldn't do that unless it was an order less than 50.00 or so Dollars. If you're trying to get credit try, Amazon - they treat you right. Fingerhut is not a good way to waste your money. Go online and order from the Manufacturer.

First off where the problems start is that my First Start Account or however they word it was started and once I place my order, I notice I made a mistake. The mistake I made was using my home address for the billing which is still at my parents' home because I have roommates. I called to correct the information and was told they couldn't change my billing; they both had to be the same. I informed them that my bank would not authorized the payment if the billing was incorrect. How they were able to do it, I have no idea, but they are scam artist. I paid for my watch and I'm still being told I owe the starting price. Then I would like to know why it take over a week to ship a watch. Then the shipping method is ridiculous. From UPS to USPS and my item has been sitting in the same city with me for three days.

I ordered a NFL watch for my grandson but Fingerhut notified me order was backed-order so I called and cancelled the order over the phone. My balance at the time was zero. Next month received another e-mail, "Your order has been shipped". Fingerhut shipped it anyway. Called again and was told to refuse the order, my grandson lives in a different state ugh!! They have the worst customer service ever and their products are a no star. I actually contacted them to file a formal complaint, we'll see if I get a return call.

I ordered a recliner on the 11/03 and it was delivered to me on 11/04 in Columbus, Ohio. I feel I have received somebody else's return. I am 5'6". The foot rest catches me under the calves. The foot rest is hard to put back. You need legs of steel. The only way you can get it back is to push it against the wall and push the foot rest in. This is a recliner for a CHILD, should not be sold in adult section. Now that I've unpacked it it's impossible to repack so I'm stuck with dolls furniture. Think twice before I order FURNITURE from FINGERHUT AGAIN. Delivery 1 day. It was a reject from somebody close by.

When it came I plugged it in, set the temperature and it ran. When it came up the set point, the unit shut off without going through the fan cool down. Made another attempt same problem. Sent it back. Replacement was received 11/5. I started this one up and the fan when it reaches its set point continues to run. I let it run for over an hour then unplugged it and boxed it up for return. I am starting to think they are selling rejects. All I want is a product the works. One last chance.

I do not know the people in SC who got this camera. By reverse white pages, they seem well off and 6 people live at this house. According to tracking, a woman met the UPS carrier.

I had a long experience with ordering from Fingerhut, and most of my earlier orders were positive, but on 9-9-2014 I ordered a SM24 MEN'S YUKON TRAIL ELECTRIC BIKE, and they sent me a SF24 WOMEN'S ELECTRIC BIKE, so I proceeded to call the company and arrange to return the bike after waiting for a return label to be sent and for shipping truck to pick it up for return. Then on 9-29-2014 I tried to reorder the SM24 MEN'S BIKE and once again they send a SF24 WOMEN'S BIKE, so I never accepted delivery because I saw their mistake when the delivery man brought it.
Once again I contacted the company and told them that I just wanted a refund this time after talking to someone named Melissa on 10-14-14, and then on 10-16-14 someone who said her name was Carolyn who proceeded to call me back on my home phone and had the nerve to tell me that they wouldn't be able to send back my overpayment and they would have to give me credit to my account. This lady needs to be investigated by the things she was trying to lie to me about my overpayment which was 875 dollars and 98 cents.
Then I called right back to the company and talked to someone named Michelle on 10-16-14 and she was very helpful and told me my overpayment would be returned to me. I called back on 10-20-14 and talked to someone named Peggy to confirm my refund. I did get my refund finally after much stress and trouble, but I am done with Fingerhut orders, especially after the one who called my house telling me that I wasn't eligible to get my overpayment back. This lady needs investigated and fired for telling customers lies about their accounts!

I took over my daughter's account, paying her bills from her S.S.I and S.S. payments, for which I am payee. Fingerhut charged late fees on every statement. Since I was sending the payments (over minimum payments due) by the third of each month, I thought it's through the payment date off. So I sent two payments in October. One on the 3rd and one on the 15th. I then realized that the payment I had made on the third of September was just credited. Neither of October payments had been credited. This means they are a month behind in crediting these payments. They can keep charging late fees when they post payments late. Out of a $50.00 payment two dollar went towards the amount owed. A real nice way of making a big profit on sales. I have written a letter to Fingerhut to address this problem. Seems I am not alone in this tactic from Fingerhut. I will give them to the next billing cycle to straighten this out.

Invoice date for this tablet was 1/30/2014. Yes, I ordered it on their payment plan. Soon after I ordered a sheet set also. I sent back the tablet with their return label that was with the tablet. I was getting the same bill and they hadn't removed the tablet so I called. They said send the Post office receipt with the tracking number, etc. I did. It was dated 2/13/14. They still charged me so I called and sent everything they asked for as they said they hadn't received it but the Post Office and I knew it was sitting in a Parcel Return Service at DC Dist. of Columbia because of the "Prepaid Mailpiece Acceptance" recorded on the receipt.
So, I called again and after getting a very rude response they said they didn't receive what I had sent so asked me to send again! I did but by certified mail! It was signed for so I know they got it. Between the rude letter I got, rudeness on the phone and paying for something I sent back and also paying for sending it certified, I am still getting charged for it. We are on a fixed income and cannot afford for this to continue. Too many med. bills lately, too. The payment is $20.99 mo. - not much to some but it is to us. Thanks for your help. Don't know how to send copies on here. I have copies of all I did, though.

Battery in zeki 10.1 inch tablet was defective, wouldn't hold a charge for longer than 2 minutes so I called the manufacturer and got instruction to return the tablet for warranty which I did to the letter sent parcel post. 1 week went by - never heard a word, called last Friday and was told they had received the tablet but no proof of purchase which was a lie because it was included in the package with the tablet - said at that point they needed three days to look for the original receipt. Called this morning and they still refuse to send replacement, they received the tablet on August 8th and still insist I didn't enclose payment receipt and refuse to replace the defective tablet. This morning I called Fingerhut to help resolve this, asked them to fax copy of invoice to zeki or dpi. Was told they couldn't do that so I told Fingerhut I would not pay for a defective tablet I don't have and that I would pay balance of products I did get but not for that tablet and then they can close my acct. Life is to short, won't ever buy products from zeki or dpi again and won't buy from Fingerhut again either. No one wants to stand behind their products anymore and I guess Fingerhut is large enough to blow off their customers. Recommend you stay clear of these companies. I would rate both as thieves.

In September I was offered a credit line increase from Fingerhut. Having been a loyal shopper and having no negative experiences before, I decided to go ahead and order some early Christmas presents for my family. My order consisted of an iPad mini, a folio case, a wii-u, Mario kart 8 and a wii-u controller. The total was well over a thousand dollars which allowed us to have deferred payments until January. Perfect to let us pay off the rest of the bill before new payments started. Most of the order shipped immediately. I had the iPad, wii-u, folio case, and game within two weeks. The controller showed on my order as "cancelled". So I called Fingerhut and explained my situation.
They told me that I had cancelled it, and I thought maybe I accidentally had while playing around with my new ipad. They told me that I could get the controller again, but to get the same deferred financing as the first order, my total had to be over 100 dollars. So I added a blanket for myself and set the order up again. Again, the blanket was sent out but the controller was "cancelled". Another very angry call later and they told me yet again that I had cancelled the controller. I explained to them that there was NO WAY, why would I keep ordering the same thing? They offered me 10 dollars off my controller since I couldn't get the financing anymore, and placed the order over the phone. For two weeks it sat as "label created" before I got an e-mail saying it was back ordered until October 15th.
I waited until October 15th when they promptly sent me an e-mail that said the vendor couldn't fulfill my order and that I would be refunded. I am extremely irritated by their unwillingness to help, blame me, and then make me wait for it to just never happen! I am going to e-mail them with this same review after I post it to let them know how mad I am about this! I have bought a TON of stuff through them: xbox one, an audio receiver, 4 pairs of shoes, gifts for holidays. I have not had any issues until this one item, but to make me wait and tell me that it was cancelled after all of the hassle was a little bit beyond what I was ready for.

We called to check on the shipment information and was told to call back in an hour or two. Meantime they took money out of my account. We even went to UPS because that was the method of shipment and they would not take the correct delivery information either because the local office is privately owned. The bike becomes too difficult to operate. Like I said - I purchased the warranty for this item. That fact made NO difference to either Pro-Form or Fingerhut. I email & spoke with customer service at Fingerhut for months begging for help - all I received in return were customer service reps that became more and more rude & condescending. Frequent dropped calls & erroneous call transfers are the norm.
I even explained to them that I am a 100% disabled Air Force veteran & purchased this bike to try to help me get and stay in shape. I called Fingerhut and told them that I never placed that order and that I don't know anyone who lives on that address in Texas, since I live in California. They asked me to complete an affidavit and they would conduct an investigation. I assumed the investigation would be thorough and they would find out who actually placed the order and demand that person to pay. Instead, Fingerhut sent me a second letter saying: "In our investigation, we found out that the item was shipped to that address in... (in Texas) and you have to pay the bill." What kind of investigation is that? That fact was already a given! They recommended me in that letter to file a Police Report and send them a copy if I want to continue disputing the case, and I will. On June 3, 2014, I placed an online order and was told I would receive it within 2 weeks. I repeatedly contacted them to inquire about the status but they kept telling me to wait! Then I checked the shipping details and it shows the items I ordered was shipped to Camden, Arkansas! I immediately contacted Fingerhut, so they sent me a "legal document" (which is what the guy at customer service called it), "Affidavit of Non-Receipt of Merchandise" which they dated July 22, 2014. I sent it back dated July 29, 2014 because they said I had 15 days to do it. I even checked off that I wanted my account credited.
It is now September 22, 2014 and I have not received a response from them except phone calls saying I should pay my bill. I told the guy on the phone that I am not paying for something I did not receive! He said that even though I did not receive my merchandise, I still have to pay my bill because it's a line of credit! I told him I am NOT paying for it! I even asked if I don't pay the bill, if that will reflect my credit report. He said, "It’s up to you. If you don't want bad credit you should pay your bill." I told him I AM NOT paying for something I did not receive and that I had requested they credit my account. I even included the shipping information as to where my order went but they still haven't credited my account. I am having their company investigated!

They did. No big deal. The problem was, one month later I received a phone call saying I owed $44.00. They said that I still had to pay for them to send it to me. They also owed late fees and interest. I told them I NEVER received a bill either by mail or e-mail. They basically said it's my fault because they mailed one. So I said, "OK, I mailed the payment so it's not my problem." They said, "No, it doesn't work that way."

I told him maybe cause they was new, so every time he went to fry an egg or bacon they stuck. He was so mad he called and they was rude about it. They didn't even offer any credit or replace them with something else or anything. So I don't know why my Husband wanted to order something else but he wanted a pressure washer and he thought he would get a jack and some jack stands cause it was a set. Well it took forever before the stuff came and when it did the pressure washer was broke so my husband called and complained and they just gave him a $75.00 credit on an over $500.00 order.
He was pissed, and to top it off when he went to use the jack it bent so now you have to hit it to go down and he also was signed up for some kind of medical insurance WITHOUT his consent and we was being billed $49.00 a mo. and we didn't even know we had it until one day we got a thing in the mail wanting to know if we wanted it for another year or so. He called right away and to this day we still haven't gotten credit for it cause we didn't want it and we didn't even know we had it ... On 08/07/2014 I contacted Customer Service in regards to this item and was spoken to very rudely by Customer Service. The representative talked to me like I was uneducated. She rudely told me that there was a difference in the meaning of shipping dates and delivery dates; however, I am aware of the definition of both. No Customer Service rep ever could give me any real information about this item.
Every time I talked to someone, it was always different information provided from the last rep I had previously spoken with. I asked for a supervisor and was told no supervisor was around and they would have someone give me a call back. To this day, I NEVER received a phone call. I tried to be patient with them and their lack of information. I finally canceled my order which was supposed to be a birthday gift that I was NEVER able to receive. THIS IS SO SAD!

When I first signed up with FINGERHUT, my address was my mother's house. I then moved out of there into my own apartment, but never changed the address because I do not trust where I live at. They steal packages (I live in a very bad neighbourhood). I called FINGERHUT today, because I made my second order. My very first order was 2/2014. I would maKe payments 2 times a month to pay it off. Well I paid it off last month in June 2014. So I wanted to make another order. Well when I hit submit, I noticed that they had my apartment address on there to ship my order to. I do not know how they got that address because I never told them.
Anyways so I called today to change the address and I told her why. She stated I cannot change my address because I am not a MATURE CUSTOMER. I said what the hell is a mature customer? She said I would have to be with them for a certain amount of time. I told her I have been with them since FEB 2014... that 5 months. So how much longer do I have? She stated that I need to make a couple of orders, and pay on time. I told her that I do pay on time, even 2 payments a month. And this is my second time ordering. All I need to do is change my address back to what it was in the beginning. She stated she can't do that. She said she couldn't even change my address and say I live on the first floor. So the FEDEX will just think it's a house not an apartment! SMH.
I told her ok, so you guys want my package to get stolen if it is left outside? She stated that if it is that I can file a complaint, and then they will look into it and send me another one if I want. I told her ok, so if you send another package to the same address that it was stolen from, don't you think the same thing will happen? She said it will be up to me........uhhhh I don't get why I can't change my address.... SO I GUESS IF I FREAKING MOVE, ALL MY PACKAGES WILL BE SENT TO MY OLD ADDRESS... UNTIL I BECOME A MATURE CUSTOMER... GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE.... SO I CANCELLED MY ORDER CUZ I FREAKING PISSSED.... SHE WANTED ME TO PUT A NOTE ON MY DOOR AND SAY IT'S OK TO PUT THE PACKAGE IN THE HALLWAY..... YA SO THE PEOPLE THAT CAN STEAL IT CAN GO IN MY HALLWAY....

I recently tried making a payment to Fingerhut electronically through my checking account. They messed up on their end and tried taking it out of my savings account twice, which incurred 2 fees on my end. My checking account has the money and the savings account has none. The first time I contacted customer service they were quite friendly and acknowledged that indeed, I checked the checking account bubble and not the savings account bubble on the electronic form. They said I would be refunded the fee amount as soon as I faxed them a copy of my bank account showing the fees that incurred as a result of their error.
The second time I contacted customer service, four days later, I log in to my Fingerhut account to see if I've been credited the fee amount. I wasn't and was also charged a late payment fee. I contacted customer service and was told that I just would have to wait a couple more days for the transaction to process. The third time I contacted customer service, two days later, I log in and nothing has changed. I call customer service again and was told it was my bank's fault that they tried taking the payment out of my savings and not my checking. I explained that this did not make any logical sense and I was promptly hung up on. His name was Kato, or so he said.
The fourth time I contacted Fingerhut, 2 minutes later, was through web chat. I explained my situation once again. I was told to contact customer service on the phone and that a note would be made on my account to resolve this situation. The fifth time I contacted customer service, 1 minute later, a lady answered. I forgot her name. I explained the situation once again and was told that since this was an electronic payment initiated by the customer that the fees would not be reimbursed. I explained to her that if the electronic payment I initiated was processed correctly through my checking account and not my savings account that I would not have incurred two bank fees. She just repeated, "Since this was an electronic payment initiated by the customer the fees would not be reimbursed" a few more times and told me thanks for contacting Fingerhut and have a nice day.
I wish I would have researched this company before creating an account. I highly recommend staying away from this company at all cost. They outright lie to you hoping you'll just forget about the situation. If you keep calling back, they will give you a reason that doesn't make any logical sense as to why they will not fix their error. I will be paying my balance in full and closing my account right after I finish posting this. Also, this is the first post I have ever written about a company. Goes to say a lot.

I called Finger hut who tells me it's a mistake and their payment system sent out statements requesting full amounts. She claim a lot of people was experiencing this and not to worry. She told me to only pay 16.99 which was my monthly payment. She told me to disregard the statement asking for the complete balance. I paid the 16.99 online. The following week I'm getting phone calls from a collection agency telling me my account was late and they were trying to collect a debt! I have account with Fingerhut. They take out of my bank account my monthly payments. Back in May 20, 2014, they took out 2 payments. I called them to inform them that they took too much money. I was told I had to show proof. Meanwhile they have that in the system because that's how I found out. Customer service rep who was so rude, said I had to wait till they take it out and for me to call back. So I'm here trying to explain that it has been taken out. Now she said, "Let me put you on hold." It took at least 25 mins before she got back to me just to tell me she will have a supervisor call me. I said no, I needed help now.
The next thing I knew, she hung up the phone. Now I had called back and got someone in USA and she said, "I do see where we took 2 payments." She said, "I will need something from the bank." I asked her, "Can I do a conference call to my bank?" She said, "Sure, I understand your frustration." Now I have someone from the bank on the phone. Fingerhut rep spoke to the lady from the bank, told her if she can fax something over showing that it was taken out. As we're on the phone, the rep from the bank faxed over the proof. Fingerhut rep said that's all we needed and we will credit my account and also mentioned that I will see the credit immediately. I did.
Now 2 months later I'm being charged for the same thing. I called 7 times in 1 day. It was on July 14, 2004. I was hung up on and was told I had to pay for it because I needed to have the money in the bank. I asked, "Do you understand English?" She yes. I told her Fingerhut took 2 payment. It wasn't because I didn't have the money in my account. It was charge a return fee when in fact I ask Fingerhut to put my money back. They only have permission to take 1 payment each and every month. I was saying "Hello, hello" and realize she hung up on me.
I called. Now I was told, "Well, I work from home and my computer is down but I will help you as soon as I can get it back up and running." So I waited for her to get her stuff together. Now 40 mins later she said, "Now I will credit your account." I had asked, "How soon will I see my credit?" She said immediately. I said, "Thank you. You have been a great help." I remember that when I credit back in May that I did see it right away. Now 54 mins later I'm saying goodbye to her. Now I decided to call back just to see if she really had done what she said. I was told it will, was taken care of. I said, "I don't see it." She said, "Refresh your computer," and hung up on me. By this time I was so disappointed that I said to myself I will called tomorrow.
On July 15, 2014, I call back. I was put on hold for a good 20 mins. The rep comes back said, "I don't see where you called." At this point I was very upset but kept my cool. Because I know that if I lose it I will get nowhere. So I was like, "Ok, I need to speak to a supervisor." The rep said, "One will call you back within 48 hours." I know it never happens. I ask the rep, "So you are telling me that you have no notes in the system that indicates that I called?" She said, "The last time you call was July 7, 2014." I said, "You are also saying you can put whatever you want on my account." The rep said yes. I was on the phone with her for 61 mins and was hung up again.
I called today, July 16, 2014. The rep said the best way is to email customer service. I asked her, "Is this customer service department?" She said, "Yes, but it's better in writing." Now I said really. I'm still going to keep calling till someone listen and cares enough to do something. Beside the rude unprofessional reps, some of my orders come to me used, broken or very cheap. When you return something back, you don't get the credit for the shipping. Wish I didn't know that. Tell I asked one of the rude rep. I kept ordering because their rules for an increase is by you ordering the amount of the increase they are giving you. You have in 60 days to use or lose it... I'm disable and I find that ordering is very helpful when you have birthdays, holidays, etc.

I have had my account with Fingerhut for several years and never missed a payment. Recently I had to miss two payments in a row due to financial difficulties and medical bills. I called Fingerhut in June 2014 to arrange a payment plan for hardship which sounded great. Well, it was too good to be true. They agreed to lower my payments to $75.00 for 9 months and reduce the APR and waive late fees. The first payment came out last month, June 2014. But the APR stayed the same and I was charged a late fee. And the phone calls didn't stop saying I had to pay the total past due. I received letters in writing from them confirming the payment plan and then THREE DAYS LATER received a letter from them stating they were sorry the payment plan did not work out for me and my account would go back into collections (it never left collections).
I have called multiple times (about 7 or 8 times) and emailed them numerous times. Today, July 16, 2014 I called Fingerhut to try to straighten it out once and for all. I was told the agent who put me on the payment plan did it in the "wrong time frame" of more than 14 days, whatever that means. The representative said he would talk to his supervisor and came back and said they would reverse the late fee for last month, but the APR could not be lowered. They would start the plan THIS month, July 2014 and my 9 months would be pushed to March 2015.
I declined saying I had in writing that my agreement began in June 2014 and that no matter how many customer service reps I had talked to, I got the runaround and no assurance this would be solved properly. The customer service rep was nice at first but got increasingly snarky and then told me that he was going to end the call because he had other customers to help. I told him HE would NOT be ending the call when I was trying to resolve this with them and I hung up on him. Not more than 30 minutes later Fingerhut called me. Got the same runaround. They call and hound me constantly and I am going to see who to report this to, talk to an attorney and find out what my options are. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

I purchased a 40" LED SAMSUNG, 3D Television from Fingerhut on November 15, 2013. Immediately the TV began turning on and off by itself. I was within the 30 Day Home Trial Period, so I called Fingerhut to return the television. I was told by an EXTREMELY RUDE phone representative "It is not Fingerhut's problem, you must contact the manufacturer", then hung up on me.
I called and emailed NUMEROUS times. I got absolutely nowhere with the Fingerhut representatives. They refused to let me speak with a supervisor, they hang up on me and they are completely unwilling to assist me. It is a total nightmare dealing with Fingerhut. December 2013 - I spoke with Kyle ID # **. He stated I was no longer within the 30 Day Home Trial period and there was nothing he could do. Again, he refused to let me speak with a supervisor and claimed he was unable to transfer my call or provide me with additional phone numbers to contact Customer Service.
Again, I emailed several times and I left a negative product rating through the Fingerhut website. I received no response to the numerous emails, but Fingerhut removed my negative rating from their website. Fingerhut is misleading consumers by removing negative ratings and displaying only the positive. I finally decided to contact Samsung, the manufacturer of the TV.
Samsung arranged for a company to come to my home and repair the television. The repairman replaced the defective part twice (the first part blew as soon as it was inserted). The "band-aid" repair held for less than a week. Again, the TV was on and on, on and off. I called Samsung and their ECR Representative told me "YOUR TV IS OLD & OUTDATED". I would have to go through another repair, but first, I must prove the TV is still under warranty. At this point, I stopped making payments to Fingerhut. They sold me an OLD, OUTDATED, DEFECTIVE TV.
Well, it didn't take long for the harassing, collection phone calls from Fingerhut to start. They want their money, but still unwilling to take the TV back. They reported my account to the credit agencies as default, which brought my credit score down. I started to threaten Fingerhut and Samsung with a lawsuit, BBB, Consumer Protection, anything I could rattle off to make someone listen. The TV came with a 1 year warranty that guaranteed against defect....I wanted it replaced.
Finally, 7 months into this ordeal, Samsung has agreed to exchange the TV. This should happen within the next 7 -10 business days. BACK TO FINGERHUT - I called Fingerhut today (June 30, 2014). I explained that Samsung has agreed to exchange the TV and I would be willing to make my monthly payments, if Fingerhut removed the late fees and updated my credit report. I was told "you pay the late fees $260.00 now and Fingerhut will reimburse you and update your credit report." REALLY? I asked him to send the information to me in an email, which he refused to do. I asked him to remove the late fees first, which he refused to do. After going several rounds with this blatantly deceptive person, he stated he was not authorized to remove the late fees or update the credit report. Why did he tell me he would????? OMG - SO INTENTIONALLY DECEPTIVE!!!
Again, I asked for a supervisor and again I was not allowed to speak with one. I asked to be transferred to someone that could assist me and again, he refused. I called Fingerhut back 6 times today. I have spoken with Sarah, Kerriann, Kim, Stephanie, Samuel and Ellis. All of these representatives were unwilling to assist, unable to help, unwilling to connect me with a supervisor, unable to provide me with additional phone numbers and so on. This has caused me a great deal of anxiety, stress, and ruined my credit, which has affected me financially.

I bought a Magic Chef microwave oven in Fingerhut for $149.00 at the beginning of May 2014. After paying a required $30.00 dollars to open the credit account with Fingerhut, they shipped the microwave oven to my address. They also sent me a letter detailing a payment schedule of 16 payments of $13.99. I scheduled the payments through their website to be deducted from my checking account for the amount of $20.00 ($6.00 dollars more than accorded) on the 10 of June and for the month of July (my payments were scheduled for the 13th of each month).
On the 17th of June, Fingerhut started turbo calling me at about 8:00 a.m. When I answered their call, they told me that I was late on my payment. I explained to the customer representative that was impossible since I saw the deducted payment (from Fingerhut) for $20.00 dollars from my checking account already on the 10th. He explained that my payments were $26.00 dollars and not $13.99 as I explained to him. I got letters from Fingerhut plus their CATALOG to back my claim of the $13.99 payment arrangement, I explained to him. He and Fingerhut (called them several times) just went deft and imposed a late payment of $14.00 on me.
Not one person that I spoke to would tell me why my payment amount was suddenly changed, except one customer service identified as Nicky, that told me it has been a mistake. Still Fingerhut even with the price printed in their catalog will not do anything to solved the situation. I got upset with this company and I am planning to pay in full my debt and ask them to eliminate me from their customer list. I do not and I repeat I DO NOT advise anyone to buy from Fingerhut but if you do, be really careful when doing business with this company.

Last year I noticed I was being charged for Safeline on my account. I only noticed that when my boyfriend's name appeared on my account even though it's mine and I make the payments. I called and asked them what Safeline was and they told me. I told them I never signed up for that as it is for if you become disabled (which I already am) so it would be no use for me. The lady I spoke to at the time said she would cancel the Safeline and correct the name. It happened again I called last month and told them again why am I being charged for this and why is the boyfriend's name on my account. He said he would correct it and give me a refund. (oh wow I got refunded the money they took for one month) I should of been refunded since Jan 2011 when they started taking it and I didn't know it was being charged to me.
I just called again today about the boyfriend's name on my account and the guy I spoke to this time told me, "no it's not." I am so tired arguing with these people over different issues. They overcharge for items anyways and it's just not worth the hassle. I told them when my account is paid for I will be done with them. My account would be lower if they were not charging me for something I didn't ask for in the first place. Makes you wonder how many more people are paying for Safeline on their account and not even know it or know what it is. I'm sure I am not alone.

My wife opened an account to buy me a tablet in Dec 2013... After purchase, we expected a small payment... All was well for a few months until I noticed online that our statement said 2 payments were accepted and then reversed but I was never notified by Fingerhut.... When I called to find out at my bank if the payments were indeed reversed, I was informed the money was taken out of my account...
When I called Fingerhut, they first told me that I would have to send bank documents to prove this.. When I asked for a supervisor, that's when the games began... They moved me around from person to person and kept me on hold... When you would get a new person, they would start all over... I had confirmation numbers given to me by Fingerhut when I paid each time. They wanted all my info all over every time I had a new person.... Finally, they charged me interest for the payments I supposedly did not pay. When they finally did give me a supervisor she was a barely English-speaking rude person that proceeded to tell me that if I did not pay the payments and the interest, she would send a negative report to the credit reporting agency and ruin my credit and my wife's.
When I call back a few weeks later to pay off and close the account, they were rude, barely spoke English and tried their best to get more info about me.. Do not deal with these people.. Close your account before they get you and your money... Never give them a debit card or credit card number... Report them to your state's attorney general... They are under investigation... They're all crooks.... They have stupid people talking on the phone... Record all calls because they deny telling you things; but advise them of recording... Good luck.

Since it smelled so bad and I have a friend that is disabled from the use of chemical sanitizers on imported garments I did not wish to try to use the offensive garment and called requesting a full refund. I was told that was permissible since it was not due to sizing or color etc. I was sent a label for free shipping for the return. And I sent the item back. I began getting phone calls several times a day for payment. No one was interested and would not hear me out.
When the calls kept coming after they acknowledge receipt of the item, I tried to explain that it had been returned but their programming resulted in informing me it did not matter how toxic or contaminated the article was, the customer is always required by them to pay the amount they request for any returned order. I was told my amount was $39 for shipping on the return. As of today they say I owe $97 dollars yet I did not purchase any product. Apparently this is how they make their money. They call me several times a day and many times just hang up. I have told them top stop calling and that I will never pay them a penny that I do not owe. I was told in no certain terms, they had no payment plans and to call a Consumer Credit Counseling Service. The number they gave for one was in fact wrong, it was someone's fax machine. Each time I called, their rep ended up screaming at me over the phone, talking over me, hanging up on me, etc.
I finally found a credit counseling service on my own to consolidate everything through only to have Fingerhut tell them I was not qualified to for any payment plan as my account had been charged off and would be sold. Funny how it was only after I notified Fingerhut that I had gone through a counseling service to consolidate my bills that they went ahead and charged it off and decided to sell my account. My account was paid off and I had actually overpaid by $202.38 which they did return to me. After that they increased my credit line to $1200.00. OK that's fair. My complaint is this: At the end of January, I ordered a Dirt Devil Vacuum Cleaner. The 2 year Extended Protection Plan and 3 different colognes. The promo code on the back of the catalog was for, "Make no payments until May 2014”. My billing cycle was for the 4th of the month. I set my Bill Pay to start paying on the 14th of April then again on the 21st of April to start the process on the plus side. The regular monthly amount was $28.00. I had both payments set for $25.00. That would have meant that I had paid $50.00 by the due date, $12.00 over the minimum.

I called the main customer service number, told a rep there that I wanted mailers sent to me that I was sending everything back and I wanted my account closed.
I will never again do business with these people. I also told her want no more catalogs or emails. My bank account shows Fingerhut deposited my payoff of $205.00 within the Fingerhut time allotment, yet the new statement does not reflect this amount. Fingerhut deals mostly in assisting with rebuilding credit. If you are missing monthly payments, you are not rebuilding your credit. Every company has a set of guidelines they follow. If you are not willing to follow those, then don't use that company. Yes, Fingerhut is not perfect, but if you have bad credit and can't go out and get a regular credit card with regular rates - because I assume everyone knows if you have bad credit, the rates are really high - then don't fault them for that.

Each month nothing comes. Never once have I received a letter stating the boots are on back order. So that pair of boots I expect to receive three MONTHS ago I may be able to wear in the summer. I'm guessing if I never call to find out they're not coming every month that time would continue to pass and suddenly out of the blue months have gone by and the boots appear with a big phat bill. Or maybe after waiting for months I've come to terms that they just might appear at doorstep some month and just say I'm okay with that but since they never communicate why my boots have never arrived they probably be just as apt to kick my order out like they did the first month I checked on them and spoke to manager name ** who assured me they'd be here on Feb 17, 2014. That the very least they can do after the price mark up they make off of poor people like me who can't buy outright.
I'm sure if I had the total amount of 230.00 bucks I could find a fabulous pair of boots at the mall but since they prey or focus on people like me, I fell for it and I tolerate it. 1st complaint in years and I don't feel honored at all. Around the beginning of January 2014, I ordered a Wii U gaming console through Fingerhut, and their method of shipment for the packaged item was through FedEx. On January the 7th, the tracking number for the package indicated that the item was delivered to me, however, when a relative checked to make sure it's arrived safely, the package was nowhere in sight. I eventually had to contact Fingerhut on this matter, and they gave me form to fill out in regards to this situation. They sent a letter back stating that they have fulfilled on their delivery obligations and I would need to file a police report since this item is missing.
What I found outrageous was that Fingerhut not only DID NOT request for the recipient (that being me) to sign the package via Signature Request Services, but they did not place a declared value on the package for transit, thus not placing insurance on the package as well. I strongly believed that this is part of the reason why the package was not delivered to me safely, and I had already submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau because of this. I have reported this incident to the local police because clearly, my package has been stolen, however, I'm in a real mess, because I have to make monthly payments to an item that was never delivered to me in the first place so that my credit is not affected by not making any payments.

Over a month passed and no bill no label, Just over 50 phone calls at all hours from Fingerhut collections, usually no one on line, silence, then quick busy. The few times someone was on other end, They spoke indistinguishable English and would not listen to my complaint. The calls have come continuously for about a month. I found corporate contacts at web site for Fingerhut contacts.
I contacted CFO Mike Wagener office. I left messages and customer service sent me return address label and was told that 30 days expired and I would be contacted if I had to be responsible for return shipping. People in Dept talked over me and were rude and unprofessional. I am currently partially disabled, have no car and am expected to carry box to location to be shipped. Also I am not entitled to any restitution for being harassed by collections at all hours with hangups. My 1st payment was due 1/24/14. I have another payment due 2/24/14. I have called their Customer Service number (800-208-2500) daily and keep getting transferred to Reps. that speak very broken English and they don't understand what I am trying to tell them. Every Rep at the customer service number gives me 800-233-3588 (option #2) to investigate the shipping details. In return I am told to call the first number back. It has become a never ending circle. I also watch my credit scores with a credit score monitoring group that I pay for the service. In September 2013, I received an alert that negative information was reported to my credit reports. I then called Fingerhut customer service and asked that the charge off be removed from my report. They refused to help me. They said it is staying on there and it is being reported accurately. I then wrote a "goodwill" letter asking that they please help me by removing the negative charge off from my credit reports. I received a letter back from them that said the information being reported is accurate and they will not change it. I did business with Fingerhut for about 3 years and was only late 2 times. I was suppose to receive a Crossman Air Rifle and Pistol. I received a Paper Shredder. Even the Shredder box has the correct Crossman Sticker on the box. Now I have no gift to give to my 16 year old. Imagine the disappointment I have and what I have to explain to my son. I immediately called Fingerhut customer service. I got run around after run around. When I got the incorrect phone, I IMMEDIATELY reordered the Orange and Gray on 11.29.13, as to assure a timely delivery of the second phone. I then returned the incorrect phone the following day, for credit. As stated earlier, This was to be a birthday present for my Mom on Dec. 7th. I got the replacement phone in a timely manner, yet when I opened it, IT WAS THE INCORRECT COLOR PHONE for the SECOND TIME, and getting the incorrect phone 2 days before a 70th Birthday, the return option, WAS NOT AN OPTION.
I had called customer service line the day the 2nd phone was received, and was on hold for ONE HOUR and FIFTY SEVEN Min., then disconnected at 9pm EST. At the same time I was on the site waiting for a chat to appear, which it did TWICE, I stated that I had an order problem, and when I started to put in the order #, and relevant information, the agent(s) disconnected me, basically not enabling me to make an inquiry as to what I could do to get a replacement phone in an expedited manner, or just to give me some options to problem (I personally think this item was nothing more than a bait and switch). At the same time I had ordered a pair of Rocawear Mens Cargo Pant, Green, Size 36, and received BLACK SIZE 38.

I have read so many bad reviews for Fingerhut on here and other sites so I figured it was time for me to chime in. Fingerhut has always been good to me and my family. Yes, the prices on most items are higher than other sites and stores but you have to expect that when dealing with a company that allows you to buy an item on credit with payments. Yes the shipping costs are outrageous but once again, that is to be expected when dealing with a company that allows you to buy an item on credit with payments.. I applied for Fingerhut credit 2 years ago with a starting credit limit of $200. Over those 2 years, I have been able to purchase many quality items and never had an issue. My credit limit has gradually increased over those 2 years. My only complaint is that you cannot 'request' a credit increase, just have to wait for Fingerhut to increase your credit limit whenever they decide to do it. So, I am giving 4 stars for Fingerhut, lacking the 5th star simply because there is no way to 'request' a credit line increase..

As I remember, no. One thing is certain, it was only out of the box for about an hour total while in my possession.
I returned it the following day, insured and via USPS, per their instructions. I've waited for 2 weeks for the letter I received today stating I would not be issued credit because: "WE HAVE CONCLUDED THAT IT HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO UNREASONABLE USE AND/OR EXCESSIVE WEAR AND TEAR." My options are: (1) having the phone returned to me within a month; or (2) they will destroy the phone for me. They are forcing me to take possession of this phone which I cannot use. Fingerhut's behavior is beyond cheesy. I am going to follow every possible path to get the $260 credited back to me. I keep track of everything I buy to the penny and I just couldn't believe how much it was off. If I would have just gone with the amount they had listed for the amount I owe, my minimum payment would have been wrong and I would have acquired a late fee. I registered for a Fingerhut account with the intent of helping to rebuild my credit. Well, I ordered an item for 119 dollars and was told I had to pay a 30 dollar deposit. That was not a problem. I charged the 30 dollars on a different credit card. The next day, I am notified that the entire amount of the purchase was charged to my card, which put me over my credit limit. This in effect has caused my credit score to drop. I called them and spoken to someone who obviously spoke English as a second language (barely), and was told that there was nothing they could do to help because the package was already shipped and I would have to return the package when it arrived and wait 15 days for my card to be credited back. This was not acceptable to me, and I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that the supervisors are on call and not at their location. I was promised a return call by a supervisor in 24 hours, which was about 3 days ago. I am so frustrated with this company at this point and would warn anyone considering purchasing anything through them to think twice. Very horrible customer service!!!

When will these people get the point that I'm not going to pay for something I never got?! And the phone calls every day at 7:00 a.m. is a bunch of bull crap! They need to look at their company and find out what the hell is going on because they don't answer you when you ask them anything and they give you the runaround when you ask to speak to their boss! In my view, I think they should just shut down the whole company!!!!!!!!

I ordered yard games from Fingerhut last July 2012. I never got it. I called in August and they sent me paperwork to fill out on not getting it. They never sent a letter back, except to demand payment. I've called several times and talked to several people, even the manager, and she said she would remove my account and refund my $30.00 initial payment. Now here it is, 2013, and they are bad on my credit score. They sold my account to an outside source called Weidman and Jankowski, and they want over $350.00 for an order that was $86.00 that was never received. NEVER AGAIN! I HATE FINGERHUT!

I ordered an electric pressure cooker and they said it would be delivered on March 21. I waited a couple of weeks longer and no delivery. I called Fingerhut and they said it was on back order but they could not find my order so I ordered it again. Now I already received confirmation on the arrival date. I was also supposed to receive a free gift for the order. I am still waiting for the free gift. Now I received my first month statement, this month, of $13.99. On the 2nd of June I tried to make a payment with my debit card and the lady said, "It didn't go through," and I know the money was on my card. She said, "Call back in five or six hours," and I grew kind of concerned about this. So I tried to make a payment on the website and a person from Fingerhut told me I couldn't do this either, so I told her I would send a money order that day and I did.
Today, they called me and told me they had not received payment and wanted me to make a debit card payment over the phone. I believe this is their gimmick because my account has jumped up more than the $13.99 and they say they have not received my payment. I called them and told them I thought the payment had already got there because it doesn't take that long to get mail in the US. I think they make big money with late charges. The people were very rude and I could not understand them because of their broken English and they got mad because I couldn't understand them. What a rip off. I ordered something from them to build my credit score; now I am lowering my score. After I get this paid off, I will not ever deal with Fingerhut again.

I placed an order online on a Friday after hours for Fingerhut. It turned right around and I sent an email to customer service to request an address change (as this was how I was instructed before) the same evening. Email reply was received on Monday, Memorial Day. I was told Tuesday. I spoke with customer service about changing address and after lengthy discussion, Fingerhut agent told me in order to change address, she would first have to cancel the order and my money would be returned. Also, she told me she would have another agent from another department call me and I would then place my order over the phone, I suppose. I never did get that call. Next, I spoke with Pam and it was no help, no refund and here's why.
Even though I cancelled my order immediately, they SHIPPED part of it to the address I was trying to change. My question is, why did they cancel only part of my order? Now I cannot get my money refunded because they shipped part of the order I cancelled. Next there was Beth who was no help. Then I received a lovely email from Tracey telling me HOW STUPID I AM. I need help getting my $30 back. I am not a rich person and I don't think I should be penalized for simply trying to change the delivery address. I could understand if I had procrastinated with the change of address request but I jumped right on that as soon as I made the order.
