Switched to Knology because Mediacom had raised their rates so much and Knology was offering a special for cable internet and phone. Told them we didn't need the phone. Went with the cable and internet but took the highest speed they had to offer instead of phone which turned out to be 10 dollars more a month and suppose to be 25 MPS download, left mediacom with 6 Mps download speed which was way faster than what I'm getting now. And ever since I swapped, I've had nothing but lag through Knology would not recommend for anyone to go with Knology. I'm paying for 25 Mps downloads and don't even get 6, going to drop them and go try someone else!

I am on a fixed income and I explain to the representative that I only get my Social Security check on the third of the month and could she please let my cable stay on until the third of February but they gave me some kind of hog wash about that would be too long and plus when I sign up for Knology, they told me my bill would only be 108.00 a month but my bill runs me 147.00 a month. I don't need a home phone. All I need is cable and internet. The rep that came by my home in August lied about how much my bill would be a month. I guess if I had not fed him, he would have been more, I am 62 years old and I don't have that kind of money every month and they won't even give you an extension.

I was having hard times, and they turned my internet, cable, and phone service. I had Knology for over a year and a half. I was never late on payments. I even overpaid and had credit on my account. Then for a month, I didn’t have the money to pay the bill. They billed me an outrageous amount of money, then cut it off and refused to give me an extension. They had someone come to my house to pick up all the cable boxes and the internet box. About 2 months later, I received a letter from them saying they were going to send me to the collections office for $975.00 because their boxes were not returned. What am I going to do with boxes that don’t work and just take up space?

I did get a piece of paper from the guy stating I gave the boxes back to them. Then when I called about the notice, they said I needed to fax them a copy of the paper. But bad on my part, I threw the paper out thinking it was done and over with and all I had to pay was the outstanding bill for $219.00. So now my credit is being ** over. Do not get with this company. My internet is super slow. I am overcharged for regular channels and they charged me for long distance calls when in the package I got, long distance was indeed included!

We have been with Knology for 18 years plus and have been trying to get phone installed for the past six (6) weeks. Knology blames AT&T. AT&T blames Knology and we still do not have a Phone through Knology. The install has been changed four times and as of today, the 9th of Dec. It again has been moved to the 14th. My next conversation will be in Westpoint, GA.

The internet is not reliable. I work at home and rely on their services. Internet will disconnect and never know when it will come up. Services are slow and very unreliable. Representatives working are rude and unprofessional. One lady said that it was my modem problem and said, "it's called technology and technology wears out and need to be replaced." Another time I was very upset and worked up and representative hung up on me, after I waited for over 20 minutes on my cell wasting my minutes. I would not recommend Knology to anyone.

Their high speed internet service is not dependable. And lately, it has been around less than .7 Mbps. That is far below the advertised speed (6 Mbps). This is unacceptable. I will likely switch to Comcast.

I had cable service for a short period in June 2010. I was promised free installation, but they charged me $29.99 installation fee and refuses to refund in spite of my several request to customer service including the supervisor. I am requesting refund of the installation fee.

I got my bill for the month. Several years ago, we set up auto pay so my bill would go onto a credit card and I wouldn't have to worry about my bill with all the travel and odd shifts we work. Evidently, they say that my credit card expired in October but I did not receive any notices at all. Knology has this email address and contacts me for all kinds of Knology promotion. However, they never did contact me and I just received a bill for two months worth, complete with excess late charges and demand to pay immediately including the bill due on November 30 before the customer service lady would even talk to me. She refused to take off the charges and refused to acknowledge that the company made a big mistake.

By the way, my credit card is good until 10/12. It did not just expire and it was renewed in May of 2009. They had simply entered the expiration date in reverse year and month and even then, they had the date as 12/10, not 10/12. So why do you screw up a customer that has paid on time, every time for 4 years over Knology’s error? Maybe, it's time to look for another company. I don't need to be treated with disrespect and I don't appreciate being charged for Knology’s mistake. It is not mine but Knology’s. It is either credit me back or you'll lose a great customer. Thanks for listening.

We have had Knology now for three days. I have noticed that every day there are slow downs in internet. I used websites to test speed for example, speedtest.net. The highest speed I ever noticed was around 6 MB/sec. and the lowest I saw was around .68 MB/sec. and it was not even 1 MB/sec.

This is horrible and at those speeds, you really can't do much on the internet. I like to play games online which makes it impossible. I noticed that if it gets close to 2 MB/sec is when games start to lag. It's horrible for internet. Shame on you, Knology.

This is the worst internet company I can ever imagine. They charge very high, about $70 per month. And the internet they provide is highly unstable. For one week I was totally unable to have any access to internet in my apartment yet in return they only agree to refund me $3 for that. Their technician knows nothing about internet because they cannot even tell what is a router and what is a modem. I and my roommate spent one afternoon to help them set up the network. Actually they did nothing except making a phone call to their company to activate our modem. It was us setting up all the correct cable and network connections.

In contrast, Comcast only use several seconds to do that and we didn't need to do anything. On the other hand, Knology charged us $116 for setting up while Comcast only $25. We weren't able to transfer Comcast with us because Knology monopolize in our new apartment. I really want to know whether there's a way out of this. I like my new apartment so much yet the bad service of Knology almost spoiled that. And the address to pay their bill is really confusing and then I got my bill paid to the wrong address. The customer service didn't provide any useful help. It was my bank who has nothing to do with all this mess that actually helped me out of this payment issue. I don't know how this filthy company can ever legally exist.

I had their service for 3+ years. I paid for high speed (7-10 megs guaranteed) bandwidth speed. I rarely received this level of service and have documented levels down to 600 (should be in 7000 - 10,000 range). This caused drop-out problems and slow internet connections. I had many service calls and extended periods with no internet for my business. While on-site techs admitted there was a problem, management (Chris **) claimed everything worked fine or "that's just the way it is."

I disconnected 5 days into the month of November, and I only received a refund of $38.13. This is wrong. I mailed a request (Return Receipt Requested) with all pertinent documentation enclosed asking for a correct refund. I received a check in the amount of $38.13. The monthly charge is $90.50. $90.50 divided into 30 days equals $3.02 times the 25 days left remaining that I did not 'use' comes to $75.42. When I connected with Knology, I paid one month in advance so each month paid is always one month ahead of time. I paid the monthly amount ($90.50) in September and paid $186 on October 27th. I disconnected on November 5th. I am being ignored and denied all the funds due to me. In this economy, I cannot afford nor am I willing to accept this type of ill-treatment.

The best way to describe this is to cc you what I sent to the BBB.

In the past 4 years I've called Knology CS on the average of approximately 4 times per month. It has always been the same complaint. My Phone, Internet, and cable TV are completely out, not working, or not working properly. Which at that time, I am forced to contact Knology on my cell phone to make the complaint that the services I have been, and still am paying for are out!

They will schedule a technician to come out, and each one that has visited due to my complaints, states the same excuse, Ma'am you are at the end of the line there is nothing we can do.

What finally forced me to write the BBB for some type solution to this on going problem, last Friday, 4 Aug 06, I was running late to work picked up the phone to call and the phone was dead, so, I checked the internet to email my boss, it was out, I then turned on the TV, and all I saw was, SNOW. I finally got a hold of a Customer Representative where he made me an emergency 24 hour appointment Meaning that someone would have to be at the house incase the Tech stopped by during the middle of the day when my husband and myself were at work, this meant, in order for me to attempt to resolve this issue I would be forced to take leave and miss work in an attempt to get my services up and running properly. Services that have been paid in full which only works of the time. I agreed under duress. For if no one were available at my home, no tech would be sent out to try and solve this on going problem which has never been fully resolved

No Technician came by Friday, - As of Saturday morn, 5 Aug 06 NO TECHNITIANS arrived On Sunday 6 Aug 06, No Technician, - NOTE: There was someone at the house at all times. On Monday I called and spoke with a "Supervisor named" Tiffany - she called the local Knology office and assured me that they would call either my cell phone or work phone that same day to resolve this on going issue.. As of 8 Aug I still had not received a call. I finally called Knology CS about 9 am, finally, a local knology employee named James called me around 11 AM and assured me that there would be a tech out to my house by 5PM so that they can resolve this issue. 8 Aug 06. At 7:30 pm A Knology CS called to reschedule again...

Note: James stated that there had been someone there but my dogs were a problem. Yes, I have dogs, but they are kept in the house, they only go outside when a family member is present.

From what I gathered from James, they totally missed my house.

Due to Knologys lack of total connectivity with the Telephone, High Speed Internet access, and Television, I am paying full price every month and only receiving of the services that I have been promised/contracted for. And now, not only are we out almost $7,000.00 full payment for full service, I have lost a precious day of leave which was not scheduled nor can it be made up, suffered mental anguish for loosing work, and my internet business has suffered greatly as well.

They did make a 40$ adjustment on last months bill... but this type of treatment is totally uncalled for. Although we have had some rain... the weather here is not a factor. There is no reason that I should have to pay full price for 1/2 of the service.
