    On August 19, 2025, I canceled my COBRA coverage with Paylocity and received multiple termination notices confirming the cancellation. Despite this, on September 2, 2025, Paylocity withdrew $866 from my checking account for coverage that no longer existed. I immediately contacted Paylocity COBRA Support in writing on September 13 and again on September 17, attaching their own termination notice as proof and demanding a refund. Both emails were ignored. Instead of resolving the issue, on September 22 Paylocity locked me out of my COBRA account, leaving me unable to access my records or remove my bank account information to prevent further unauthorized withdrawals. Because Paylocity refused to respond, I had no choice but to escalate:

    - Filed a fraud dispute with my bank
    - Filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)

    - Filed a complaint with the Department of Labor (EBSA)

    Both regulators confirmed that Paylocity already has a large number of complaints for similar misconduct. This appears to be part of a broader pattern, not an isolated mistake. A company that handles payroll and benefits should be trustworthy, responsive, and compliant with the law. Paylocity has been none of these. They took money they were not entitled to, ignored multiple refund demands, and cut off my account access. Employers should think twice before trusting Paylocity with their employees’ benefits.
