I cancelled my account with Hibu, formerly known as Yellow Pages, two days before my billing cycle. They happily cancelled my account and removed my website. Two days later I was charged over $1000 dollars for service for the following month. I called with a concern that I had been charged for a service they didn't provide me with. They said that I needed to cancel two weeks before my end billing date to avoid further charges. It's a terrible company. The reason why I left was because I found a much better product at a lower charge. They have poor customer service and will steal your money. I have an ad in Yellow Pages, and I have paid to see if I am getting any leads from my Yellow Pages ad, and after one year I have only one call through yellow pages. It's a terrible service, don't waste your money.

Worst decision I've made. Even after all these months of broken promises from Hibu representatives, I still have ZERO results. I've spent plenty of money (hundreds) and they have cancelled but they still keep billing my accounts. They are a band of thieves. My social media campaign was a horrible experience. They did not promote me for what I paid for. The only ad I ever saw actually went against what I was trying to accomplish and defamed my character. I'm sure Hibu has thousands of dollars for a lawyer and now since they took my money, I can't afford to bring legal action. But if I could I would sue the crap out of Hibu for the way they have done me. If you are thinking about doing business with them, beware!

I cannot even rate them with one star. I do not do business the way they conduct theirs. When I say I am going to do something it's done. Nothing they have supposed to have been done for us has been. Every time I email-call, no one answers. I get either a voicemail, that's never return call. Emails they say are faster, and yet, still till this day that does not work either. They are charging me monthly on my charge card. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CARD NUMBER.
this has been set up to take advantage of the OLD SCHOOL BOYS, THAT ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE INTERNET. They didn't get to go to college. So therefore they really thought these people were honest and forthright, when they say "Oh do not worry about anything, we have your back and will work with you all the way thru". Well they work with us, just until they get your business card number.
They tell us one thing on the phone about contract, then when and if you get a copy, it has been completely changed to a fix term contract. This is not the way it was sold to us. They change it the way they change the recordings, they say they are recording you, well I am recording them too. They just did not know, and I was told by my credit card company to do that. So there you go I did. Caught in so many lies.
My social site, were never approved, and no one even knows me by that Business name. We also had a website, that was suppose to be on the google listing, which was not an address so we could be found with a 50 mile radius of our hometown, where our business is. They of course blamed google for that, we did not hire and pay google. We hire HIBU. We have suspended our card, until then can be resolved in a proper way. The Lies, and the unwillingness to answer emails or calls, have no room in this contract. They cannot do it right. I want fully reimbursed. We lost several thousand in business we could have got. And they are simply rude, inconsiderate jerks. They even had the nerve to call me a liar, I write things down, and record conversations.

Not only did we have to pay a 3rd party to fix our form submission links as well as charging us for 2 websites at one time, Hibu also had AdWords set to where it was running ads in another state that we could not do business. As for the Facebook page you are better off finding someone that you know to run it because I have yet to figure out what they are doing for it besides sending us emails about post that we had made ourselves. On top of all that we were never contacted by our sales rep on these services. We reached out to Hibu and it has just left us extremely disappointed.

I went to the opt out listed in the front of the yellow book and they opt you out from receiving the actual book, which is FINE BY ME. I emailed and asked how to opt out from having my personal information published. I need to do this for personal safety. They emailed me back and said I need to contact the publisher which is Hibu and when I go to their opt out it's the same page as Yellowbook --so it's a ridiculous runaround. It's the same racket that the online sites try to use. I have a right to not have my information published and they're just trying to make it impossible. I've had to contact my state's attorney general before and I guess I'll have to do it again. I've read the reviews all over and it's clear this publication is not well liked and even reviled in many mine cases.

WOW... Wish I read all these complaints before I signed on with Hibu! This was the worse customer service I have received in many years. Buyer beware, this company cares about 1 thing and 1 thing only, your payment! Our business has been advertising with Hibu for about 5 years, created our website, phone book, pay per clicks etc. Recently they put a new sales guy with us by the name of Sean **. He sold us on a SEO campaign... and by the way, our 5th salesman in 5 years!!! Program sounded good. You can pinpoint areas you wanted, cost was reasonable... sign us up! Sean was our best friend at that time!
Time went by about 3 to 4 weeks spoke with Sean, he said, "You should start seeing your company info under the pest control heading!" Sure enough there it was... Maximum Exterminating Inc. entertainment agency!!! Yep ENTERTAINMENT... Really Hibu! We KILL bugs... we don't entertain them! So this is where the exceptional terrible customer service takes place. Long story somewhat short Sean ** would not return any of my emails, voice mails. Nothing but crickets from our best friend Sean! So weeks go by... meanwhile they are charging me $500 a month for advertising as a entertainment company! Mind you, we are a exterminating company! Yep Maximum Exterminating Inc.
After weeks go by we got in contact with a Hibu employee by the name of Jared **. Our experience with Jared wasn't bad although he couldn't figure out how to change our description from entertainment to exterminating! We now are in the 2nd month of this and yep you guessed it, another $500 gone in Hibu's bank account. That's when I step in and make the decision to call my bank and stop the debit payment to Hibu! And guess what, everybody started calling us. Well not our best friend Sean. Still crickets out of him.
Now we have a guy by the name of Patrick **, real nice fellow (not). He wanted to know if we had any pictures to prove that we were showing as entertainment. By this time we are guessing ol Jared figured out how to fix the mistake that was created by Hibu. So Mr. Patrick ** said, "Gee whiz the very first thing I would do is take a picture of it to have on hand!" Sorry Pat, I didn't know I was dealing with a shady company that looks for avenues out of responsibility! Besides I have all my emails saved all our conversations with Sean, Jared, Hein **, etc. He was just glad to hear that we didn't take a picture of it!
So after not responding to any of their demand letters about them wanting payment for something that they screwed up from the get-go, which is a null and void contract far as I'm concerned! And my attorney! They ultimately send us to collections and sick a attorney by the name of Rauch\Milliken International, Inc. This attorney sends us a letter says through legal action, "Our client Hibu will subpoena" all of our company records including all checking accounts and tax records and this is done to locate hidden or unreported profits. Lol.
Also, "With a judgement, our client may file to seize all of your bank accounts, inventory, accounts receivable, real properties, etc." All this for a contract of $2,082.50 that was broken when they listed us as a entertainment company! Great job Hibu. I spent approximately $5000 a year with you for the past 5 years and would have continued as long as you do the job right! BUYER BEWARE. A TRULY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER.

We signed a 6-month contract with one month free. It took 3 months to get the Google placement going right. She never stop in to go over the phone recordings. Still waiting. Never responded to any posting. Still waiting.

ONLY ONE person at Hibu did their job and tried to help us (a small credit). NO ability to be able to contact management. NO customer service when called. Then they ask us to renew on an account we told them we wanted nothing to do with. They auto renewed an account we did not approve them to do and then required us to pay for it because they had already printed it (again when we did not approve for it to be done). One should be very careful when company force you to sign long term contract. Dirty business model. Let me go ahead and sanitize my hands. We did not like the look of the website, so we did not give them the ok to publish. 3 years later, after taking charge of the billing for the company I found we were being charged $102 a month for the past 3 years. When I called to ask them what they are charging us for they said it became a verbal contract once it was launched. The website never "launched." I never approved it, it was never published but the manager explained it launched on their end and it was our problem because that was part of the so-called contract. So we paid almost $4000 for absolutely nothing, and their company had no problem charging us this. They are a bunch of scammers and treat their customers poorly. Please don't make the same mistake we did.

We have dealt with Hibu for years, and now have a new rep.Tina ** (beware). My husband met with her for 6 hours and talked him into a webpage that she promised would put him at the top of his business. She claimed that the web page would only cost $500. a month and could go as high as $1000.00 with all the clicks he would be getting. My husband questioned the price several times to Tina. She assured him it was only $500 a month unaware of her adding costly things into the contract without his knowledge, and yes he signed a contract thinking it was for $500 a month. She knew what she was doing, how she sleeps at night, but at the same time laughing all the way to the bank. Shame on her. Karma will be visiting her. He came home all happy and I proceeded to call Tina in reference to the meeting they had and ask again how much. Again Tina stated $500.
As time went on I began to see withdraws from our business checking account from HIBU. I called Tina and asked what these withdrawals were? She claimed she could not get into her computer and would call me back the following Monday. This happened at least 2-3 times. Never got an answer. They ended up taking out $1171. on March 4th. My husband called Tina on March 20th (not Happy) and all she could say was sorry. On March 23rd I talk to CS asked for a manager, he refused to let me talk to a manager, that a manager would contact me within 24-48 hours nothing yet. He also said my bill every month would be $1148.19. 2 days later I received a bill for $1777.32. Just contacted billing and talk to a Maria. She said my monthly bill will be $1423.00. These people are like robots. No knowledge and not helpful. So I will be cancelling HIBU and will not recommend them to anyone.
They are a rip off. We are being charged for clicks, but funny no business from them. We've heard that they pay people to go on these sites and click to generate monies for them. This is such a disappointment to think you are dealing with a professional to help you better your business and all they are doing is ripping you off. I also cancelled any more activity in my checking account from them. Hope a real manager sees this and contacts me to resolve this issue.

Ugh! I just learned after signing a 12-month contract ($29 mo) with Hibu that they are owned by Yellow Book. Hibu showed me the "improvement" from 30% efficiency to 90% efficiency the first month, but all they did was add me to 2 bizarre social media sources. Years ago I had a salon with 3 categories, they inversed my ads making them each inaccurate after never having sent me a proof to authorize the listing, then charged me hundreds of dollars, then "auto renewed" me after my contract was done saying I should have "opted out" WTF!!
I told them water will freeze in Hades before I pay them. They chased me for years over it, even 2 complete separate business later, then said, "Oh ok, if you re-sign up for advertising, we will forgive your old debt" (The business that was here before me lost this storefront because they also failed to give her a proof, and instead of her phone number for the lift chair for the elderly company she ran, the typo went to a beer bar joint and she plummeted out of business). 7 years ago when I was just learning about SEO, struggling with making good advertising decisions with my limited funds, they lied and said the phone book was targeting my demographic for a tanning salon - far from true. No Hibu. My first bill supposed to be $29 is $59 so on the phone with dealings trying to get the rep on the phone to fix it.

Our Company has put advertising in the Hibu book for years and have had problems most every time we did, especially for the last 3 years. We told our salesman this year we didn't want to renew it and he was quite a talker. He told us if we would keep our ad like we had it he would add internet service to that and that they would correct all our error in the search engines which never happened. I called him more than one time which after about the second call he ignored my call because he knowed what my problem was. Our ad on our landing page was wrong from the beginning and I stayed after them till finally they done that. But with the internet all I got was "Google is sending you a number" which after about 2 months I finally got and I had warned the multiple times that I was going to hire someone else if they didn't get it done.
Finally after about 3 months I hired another company to do it and sent Hibu a search result which I still have, with all the errors on the search results and told them I had hired another company. When the salesman finally got back to me he said, "What else can we do. They are all corrected." I said, "Yes they are and the other company done it in about 2 weeks where you took over 3 months and it still wasn't done." I have to say they refunded me part of the money for the internet but the thing was the ad in the phone book was a part of that. Without the internet part, and our deal was stated we would have never took anything. Don't do business with them trying to make deals with you unless you have it in writing, because in my opinion they won't keep their word. Company name is A & A Air Conditioning & Heating, Ar.

They renewed our contract without our knowledge and damaged the website that we had built on our own. It seems like our contract was forged. HIBU kept charging us for various services after repeated phone calls with them. I had to contact them once a month and sometimes more often to reiterate my desire to cease business with them. Every time our conversation ended in HIBU assuring me that everything was cancelled and that there would be no further billing. Every month I would get a bill any way. This went on for over a year.
I refused to pay and sent them all the documentation and emails that I had with their agreement to cancel. They offered me a discount, but I did not order their service and don't owe them at all. Because I refused to pay for services which they kept on billing me for after repeated cancellations, they have sent my account to Rauch Milliken, an extremely aggressive collections service. HIBU has damaged my onsite presence which we are still trying to recover from, has damaged my credit with Dun & Bradstreet, and still continues to threaten me. I have investigated complaints online and this seems to be a common practice with HIBU and small business customers. I can provide further details and documentation upon request.

In June 2016 we purchased a restaurant from my brother in law. He previously signed a contract with Hibu for a Yellowbook ad, website and display ads (online marketing). The cost for this was around $398 per month (and not worth the money). When we bought the business our sales agreement clearly stated we were not taking on any liabilities of the prior owner, so the prior owner finished out his prior contract and paid by credit card. We decided to keep the website and the Yellowbook ad for $99 per month. Well, months go by and Hibu did not stop the service when the prior owner asked and continued to charge his credit card. He took this matter up with Chase Fraud and fought it. His complaint was valid and upheld; Hibu had to credit his card back the money they charged him that was NOT owed. So, Hibu decided to tack his charges on to our account. We are fighting this...
We've filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Illinois Attorney General. In addition, I can't get them to shut down our website or our Yellowbook ad. Every time I call, they tell me the prior owner has to call; oh my we keep going around and around. Hibu will try to get do all they can to not cancel your service so they can keep charging you, threaten collections and take unauthorized amounts out of your accounts. I have also visited my bank and disputed the money they continue to withdraw from our account (my mistake for even agreeing to pay for the website and Yellowbook ad ach for the $99 a month). This is an ongoing issue and we hope to get resolve. I tallied up the hours of emails, calls, text and writing about this issue - I have spent close to 97 hours battling with Hibu to date.

This company is a joke! We sold one of our businesses over a year ago and when I called in last year (2016) to pay the contract in full and tell them that we had sold it I was told that we were all good. Then a few months ago we started getting billed again for our contract and I thought that maybe they just messed up so I mailed them a copy of the business closure forms that were sent to the KS Department of Revenue and the IRS as well as the above mentioned information to see if it would get corrected. Needless to say I got yet another bill and called them today and after talking to 4 people, 1 of which was a manager, I was basically told that just because I sent them a copy of closure from the IRS and the Department of Revenue doesn't mean that they can close my account and said we were still in a contract.
So after some choice words I decided to pay off this contract only if I got an email confirmation today to be done with this stupid company. The manager then proceeds to tell me that she can give me a 10% discount, yet when I ask for the payoff amount she states, "well if you want the discount it is going to take a few days to get approved?" I'm beyond pissed at this point and explain that I just want to be done with the company so to take my payment and give me a confirmation #! So I pay the contract off in full then get told that I have to be transferred to yet another department to "opt out" of any future billings! Are you kidding me? How many departments does it take to close an account?
So after I spoke with an agent to opt out of future billings I ask him to send me an email and I say, "so I am opted out of any future billings and my account is closed now, right?" He proceeds to tell me that the agent only told him to opt me out, not to close my account; so I would need to call back to verify that. I called back again and spoke to the collections department and they verified it was taken care of so we will see! 3 reference numbers and 2 emails later I really hope so?!!!

I was not interested and told him so. He snuck it into my contract anyway. When I called and emailed them informing that I did not agree to anything other than my Yellow Page ads they told me it would be canceled and the rep would come back with a new contract. He did it again. He snuck that same charge into my contract. This is a highly disreputable company and the sales reps are extremely dishonest. Paid $29.00 per month to optimize all listings starting in June 2016. After 4 calls to their terrible customer service, not only are you locked in a 12 month contract, No work had been done to make sure all my listings were correct. In November after a June Start and my second phone call finally, one site was "verified". So after more than an Hour on the telephone and I finally reached the Investigation Department and asked for 5 months credit. Four days later I received an Email offering me a settlement of 5 months credit and a listing of all the sites they had done nothing with for a mere $29.00 per month. Huge waste of money and time.
Never use this Wave Service or HIBU.com for anything. Waste of time and money. If you have the service, Call the investigation department and ask for a credit for any time you have already paid for! Our company, Foothill-Sierra Pest Control, has advertised in the past in Hibu's Sonora Area Yellowbook. This year, 2016, we opted to not run any display advertising, which upset the sales representative of Hibu. The book, the 2017/2018 edition, just came out (December 2016) and we see that Hibu removed our listing entirely from the yellow pages. There are 23 companies listed in the pest control column, of which three ran display ads. Their exclusion of our company from the yellow pages appears to be an act of retribution. Hibu is a low-class company.
Jim,
As discussed earlier today, we have added a free listing to the next printing of the directories as well as to your website www.yellowbook.com. We apologize for any inconvenience and we are glad we were able to resolve this matter.

That's the way to take care of business.
Original Review: Nov. 15, 2016
I am a small business owner, gardening and landscaping. I don't need a large volume of customers because I am always out in the field and I just need one worker. So I don't try to advertise to get more and more. Hibu Yellowbook works for me with a small ad, and people that need my services call me not on everyday basis but I get few calls during the month and in a sense is part of my bread and butter. Because of that I've been advertising with them for a number of years. Every single year I have to be behind them for me to get on board. Every year there is some issue either with spelling, or not following up with art work or phone calls. I've finally had it. I was afraid I was gonna miss the boat this year 2016 and guess what? I sure did. After trying to get in touch with the regional agent, Adelina **, she calls me saying that they were trying and trying to get in touch with me.
In my ad, I have not only my office number but also my cell. Besides they have my email address. Today I spoke to her manager, who is defending her to death. He told me the same story, that they try to call many times. If they did, they are so tunnel vision that they only called one number, my office. Let's suppose that they did, why not try my cell, or shut me an email where they would have hard evidence but they didn't. Besides the manager Alex ** was kind of offensive, he was trying to lecture me on following up with the messages they left, and then he offensively told me "You should invest on a phone." I will complain to their headquarters. Very bad customer relations.
I think they don't think my ad is big enough to do business with me. They don't follow up with aggressiveness. I predict that they'll be out of business in few years. They need aggressive professional personnel. I am not an office guy, but I understand business, I understand productivity, I understand good customer relations. I not only understand, but I use modern technology for communication. I have good customer relations, and I stay busy all the time. Good luck doing business with them.

Well, I signed up for a $1500/month campaign because I was told my city got 40,000 searches a month for roofers, plus I would only be charged for clicks to my website. Not true! They pulled the old bait and switch on me.
After a month with zero clicks, I started to complain to the sales guy. He assured me I was only going to get changed for the clicks, so I let it go. After the second month, I got hit with a $1500 bill and when I called him about it, he said I was paying that much no matter what and that I would be getting a credit for only one month if I didn't get my money's worth at the end of 3 months. My business moved almost a year ago to a new location. Someone called me from hibu and offered us their Wave services, saying that they will take care of most of the online listings, like google, yellow pages, google... and will make sure the business appears with the new address, phone number, maps. Everything sounded like we don't have to worry about a thing, and they will take care of all that. We did sign up for the service Wave, which is about $30.00 per month and we thought we are all covered. It's been at least 7-8 months since then, and my listings are still a mess, showing all different locations.
I have customers calling us to complain, that they went to the listed location and they didn't find us! Not to mention that for some of the listings I had to do it myself, and for the one they did it took about 6 months, and they put in the information wrong!!! I have called several times to complain about that, and I wanted to cancel their services since I am not getting anything they promised, but they wouldn't cancel since there is a contract for one year.
They are just taking the money out of my account monthly without providing anything! It is not only the monthly payments, but the business we lost from all the customers that couldn't find us, and also the time we lost with them over the phone trying to resolve the issue. I guess I have no other choice but wait till the year pass, so they stop taking the money from the account and in a meanwhile I have to pay another company to take care of the issue. What he represented on the first phone call was totally different from what finally transpired. I was desperate to find someone to get a website up. They represented to do a website with no obligation until I approve the site to go live, then it will be charged monthly $99.99 (original phone quote was $69.99). The add-on wave service is $29.99/month. Also no obligation until the website service goes live and approved. They got someone on the phone and get all of the information to build the website.
First draft was sent, but then the staff asks me to edit the site. I gave the staff what I want edited, but the staff insisted on me writing it. The only reason I seek professional help is that I am not a writer, and also do not have the time. Now these so called professional staff asks me to write and finish the draft. At this point, I know this is not the company I want to deal with. I told this support staff to cancel everything. I then was bounced back and forth with this guy and the sales staff. Finally it took weeks to get it canceled. And in April 4, I finally got a cancellation order. Well, then I saw charges on my visa card that hibu was charging me $51.63. I then filed a visa dispute, and called the company. They gave me this excuse and said I was on a 12 month contract for the wave service.
Well, they were not supposed to even start that until I approved the website service. In addition they had done nothing to improve all of the public listings. I had proof in May that all of the internet presence was still with different names, different addresses etc. I had to be on the phone with multiple people, many hours, and threaten this review before they would issue another cancellation order. I still have to waste time to complete the visa dispute to get the hibu charges removed. I thought other people should know these bad experiences to avoid getting hurt in the future. But after I gave them $399 down and agreed to the price, from that point on was nothing but a headache for me, and many, many man-hours of my time.
First off they did a crappy job on the website. I had to call them many times to correct a lot of words that were not spelled correctly and phone numbers all bunched together. It looked like a little kid was playing around on my website. That is how bad it looked. Also the sales lady Bobbie ** promised me all kinds of stuff that I needed to have and did not come through on any of it. She basically lied about everything. The whole purpose of me getting the website was because of the search engines. I already had a great website I did myself for like $100. I basically bought this package from them for the search engines. So after many hours on phone with them and many people brushing me off, I finally talked to billing, and told them about what I was promised and got nothing. They basically said, "OK we will cancel your website but we can not give you back your $399." Of course I said "No way." I told them I wanted my money back. The website has only been up for like 9 days. The supervisor was rude, and basically did not care that her sales staff gives customers false information to get a sale. She said that she will ask someone higher up about refunding my money which was the $399.
I told her that if they do not refund my money I will seek legal action and I will also report them to the BBB. I'm sure the BBB has already dealt with them probably thousands of times. I would tell anyone who reads this to stay far, far away from these crooks. I would give them a 0 stars if I could. I have a few ads in the phone book with them also, but I will not renew next year. They lost all my business. I will not give no more of my hard earned money to these worthless crooks. I am willing to bet they will try to fight me on the money they owe me. I have many emails supporting me. In the fact that the sales lady told me they can get me in all my service areas with no problem, so being that they can not do that, they did not render the service they told me they would.

I hired Hibu to handle our PPC campaign for 6 months. I had problems from the beginning, never getting my emails or phone calls returned for weeks. In a six month period, it generated a total of 20 calls, more than half either being missed calls or calls for something that we do not do. So basically, my ROI was 0! They tried to blame our website that was done by another company. However, according to Google Analytics, my bounce rate with Hibu was well over 80%, yet my organic search bounce rate was 45%. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone and to be sure to tell them to do their due diligence. It was absolutely the worst service I received from any business.

HIBU keeps calling me on a weekly, and sometimes multiple times per day, about updating our listing with Google, Yellowbook, etc. I have told them multiple times to take me off their call list, that I do not want to be contacted by them again and that we do not want their services. It is ridiculous the harassment we get from them at our place of business. I guess the next step is to report them to the BBB. Any ideas?

I had used the Yellow Pages once with HIBU with little profit so when contacted again I met with a sales person to renew. Because of the treatment I received from an intermediate salesperson over the phone I was hesitant and so did research on the company. Because of this research when I met the saleswoman I was very scrupulous and cautious about dealing with HIBU. As such I insisted on her removing the automatic renewal clause in my contract. After much wrangling I got up to leave as I wouldn't sign it as written. She then removed the renewal clause. After signing on her touchpad she informed me her printer wasn't working and so I would receive a contract in 5-10 business days. When I received the contract 8-10 weeks later the renewal clause had been reinserted.
When the time neared for renewal I sent a letter to HIBU via certified mail stating not to renew my contract. The last statement before the new phone book came out and therefore the end of my contract showed HIBU owed me $2. After the new book was out and my contract expired HIBU tried to charge me for an additional month's service. Now they keep sending me bills and calling me to pay this and additional late and billing fees. This is a most despicable company and should not be dealt with in any business relationship.

When trying to cancel my subscription/website I had already been charged for another month and was advised to remain with the company until the 15th of the following month; until my billing cycle would be finished. So I called on the 15th of the month to cancel my website and was informed that there was never a 'note' made in the system about me wanting to cancel from the previous month. Then I was told that I had already been billed for another month and would have to wait another month! Total scam! I went ahead and cancelled to my dismay at being taken advantage of; considering I had been their client for three years! I had a terrible experience with Hibu. I gave them 1 star only because 0 wasn't an option. First of all, they are overpriced. They built my website and I was told it was to be $99/mo. 3 months later I was being charged $300/mo. They told me that it was a 3 month introductory rate, however, they neglected to tell me this when they sold me the website. After this I called and cancelled. When I cancelled, I was told that the account was paid in full and there was no outstanding debt. Today, I find out that they reported it to a collection agency and are threatening legal action over something that was paid in full. I will never again use Hibu. They are a scam. Run away fast.

I wish we would have taken the time to research Hibu before signing the six month contract. However, since they used to be the very trusted Yellowbook and the sales rep was so very convincing with big promises for helping our business, we didn't put too much thought into it. HUGE mistake. They never delivered on their promises, EVER. In the beginning we had them make changes to the website 7 times before we were happy with the look. We never got the online exposure they said we would get. They promised post cards that would be sent to us by Bing & Google for online listings but they never came and each time we called to complain, we were told they would resubmit our information but it was up to Google and Bing to send the post card out for verification. Six months later... nothing.
To top off my biggest complaint which is next, we just found out yesterday from a website professional that the website Hibu built for us is crap (putting it nicely). Even though we were happy with the final outcome, search engines are not able to crawl it because of the error codes. So, for six months our website has been unavailable to search engines. This also means no organic traffic. They handled our Adwords account; however, we got less than 15 calls a month with quite a large spending budget. When we would ask why we aren't getting any more calls, they would say "we don't know, you are getting lots of clicks."
Hibu does give you access to their own reports for your account, but they DO NOT give you access to your Google or Bing PPC accounts. How do I know all my campaign money went to PPC and not Hibu? It is completely against their company policy to give customers access to their campaign accounts. I find that extremely odd that only 15 or less calls were coming from $2,000 monthly in PPC. We have learned our lesson between HIbu and Yelp. If you have to sign a contract at all to pay a monthly fee, expect them to under-deliver while you overpay. Again, run fast, don't sign the contract.

We then collectively spent hours disputing this new contract; only to find out our office was closed on the date the contract was apparently signed in July 2015. After proving to Hibu their mistake, they denied any wrongdoing and insisted on locking us into this new contract regardless. He then asked to speak with any employee who hasn't worked here in 3 1/2 years. I informed him she no longer worked here and asked what I could do for him. He refused to tell me, and stated that I obviously could do nothing for him and hung up.
At this point I was getting annoyed - I know this is a sales call, I happen to be the person to talk to about advertising, and I have now asked him 3 times why he is calling. He immediately called back and I picked up and hung up. He called back A THIRD TIME and my coworker answered. He made a comment about how we talk to people, and she informed him that he did not speak with her but we are not interested in whatever he is selling. His response? "You're a client of ours, you're so smart." She hung up. Not once did this man EVER identify himself or the company. We have not been a client of theirs for 1 1/2 years, when we chose not to renew. I could never reach anyone and no return calls after my initial sign up and set up fee was paid. They just wanted money. I have emails I sent to them and got no response. So I cancelled their service since the communication I received from them was just asking for money when they hadn't completed what I had paid for. They said they had a great tech support team that would migrate my domain to the supposed beautiful website and that also never happened.
I finally became suspicious so I googled them and found that I was experiences the poor service and lack of fulfilling on promises made as all the other victims of this company's sales tactics. Hibu cold-called our one man electrical shop and sold us a website. We provided photos, a description of electrical services, etc. Paid our $600 initial fee. Weeks and months later, 4 revisions of pictures being upside down, miswording, misspelling, wrong terminology, they told us they were going live although their revisions hadn't been finished.
The billing started from the business account, but we kept finding out about features that had been added and charged for that. A one-man local shop didn't need and an honest rep wouldn't have sold - Twitter feed, Facebook, national advertising in Yellowbook, top of page for search engines. One by one we cancelled those as we found out about them. There were still errors on the site even though it went live. Fed up with hours and hours on the phone being bounced from one department to another to fix things, we cancelled our service in early 2015. Monthly withdrawals stopped from the business account.
We were told we would keep our domain name and I received a password for it, but was not told where I go to access it. Fast forward to December 2015. I received an invoice for our monthly payment. I called to remind them I'd cancelled in early 2015 and they showed they'd been withdrawing monthly payments from another account since then. The invoice was generated when the account ran out of money. I told them it wasn't us. They sent me to investigations who eventually sent an email that there was no error, but they prorated that invoice to $9.75 and recorded that I cancelled service during my phone call. After some investigating on our end, we found they'd switched billing from our business account to a now-dormant personal account we'd used for the first payment.
When they withdrew all of that small balance, they invoiced me. On the day they sent me the $9.75 prorated invoice, I got a collections call. My husband says don't pay it but because of all the collection horror stories we've read, I'm inclined to pay it and be done. We were naive and didn't check them out. We were excited to have a website. Shame them for their underhanded tactics, but shame on us for not being smarter consumers.

We talked to someone overseas to design the website. When they showed us the first draft, it looked like 8th graders designed it and the English was incorrect.
The billing of course started before they were able to fix any of this. One of my own employees finally got it straightened out after almost 3 months of arguing to get access to change it. After 6 months of billing (3 months of a website) the charges raised to $699 a month, all of a sudden billed to my credit card that I gave them upon initial design - all other monthly billing was by mail and check. When we complained, they said it must be a mistake. They will fix it, don't sweat it, and then the collection notices started arriving.
We talked to their service dept. They said it was all a mistake, they would work on it. We kept calling. Could never get the same person twice. After 2 months we supposedly got it all straightened out. They agreed that it was a billing error. Account is closed. Paid in full. The next month we received another bill, followed closely by a collections letter and intent to sue. At the beginning it was supposed to be $100.00 a month. At no point did I ever feel like I was getting my money's worth. The product, the service, and the company all have been dishonest and disappointing.

HIBU is HORRIBLE! We provided complete information for how our ad was to be listed in print and online (including logo image)--it was written directly on our contract. Our information was printed incorrectly with logo of former business, old web url, and non existent email address. We had experienced a change in ownership; old business had been dissolved and an entirely new business formed. We had been with HIBU under the former business name since 2008, and when we went to renew our contract with them under the new business name in 2014, because we hadn't changed addresses, they REFUSED to honor our requests to assign us a new client number in their system (We had valid legal reasons for needing a new number and provided all the proper documentation to prove the formation of a NEW business).
The sales rep told us his manager wouldn't approve the issuance of a new client number because they are paid higher commissions on new accounts as opposed to renewals and his manager suspected him of trying to work the system for his own personal gain/higher commission. We as the client were refused our request because of an internal matter??! We should have heeded the red flag then and RAN! What company puts their client in the middle of such a petty wage dispute and refuses to provide them the services they need? We argued to no avail with his manager and finally gave up, crossing fingers it wouldn't come back to bite us.
Long story short, 1.5 years into the new contract we learn despite our instruction to our sales rep that he was to set us up only for the same advertising region as the prior contract, AND that he was to cancel the old (we have email documentation of this), we now find out he set us up for an entirely new region and he DID not cancel the old. HIBU has been collecting double the amount of money from our account!!!
Our fees with them were to be $55/month, but they've been collecting $110 and sometimes DOUBLE that per month. Despite the fact this is ALL their error, they insist they ran the advertising (even though it was inaccurate and for a region we didn't request). The sales rep also lied and stated (it's written on the contract I have submitted in the lower left hand corner), that we could cancel the agreement at anytime with no penalty. LIE. HIBU's response to that is to assume no responsibility as that sales rep is no longer with their company. THEY HAVE STOLEN NEARLY $1000 IN EXTRA PAYMENTS THAT THEY HAVE NO RIGHT NOR CONTRACT FOR!
Despite us having provided them ACH and check numbers proving the unauthorized deductions, their attempt at resolution was to offer us a one time refund of $99. If they would've assigned us a new client id like we had requested to begin with, this wouldn't have happened. Instead, they took the bank account information from our new business account, and (unauthorized) ADDED it to the account for the closed business and continued deducting their monthly fees.
They argue with me they have a signed contract from 2008 for the former business that allows them to rightfully continue deducting the money but that agreement was with a partner that is no longer part of the practice (hasn't been for 2 years), and for a business name/entity that was legally DISSOLVED and does NOT exist. We have cancelled ALL services with them and now are fighting to get our $1000 back. Will never ever do business with them nor recommend them to anyone ever.

I should not have to do their job. I expected some kind of format or a template to go off of. And plain and simple they gave me a white background with a couple headings at the top. On top of that their Internet marketing campaign took me from the first page when you search automotive repair in my area to the fourth page. Within days of going live. When I asked what happened they said "This is normal and it is expected." I said "What? You'd be dead last."
I cancelled service within 2 months and 3 months later I get threatened by collection agency and Hibu because I refuse to pay 4 grand for nothing. It's really not the money that I'm upset about. It's the fact that they sold the product and service and I had to do all the work for them and I'm still cleaning up their mess a year later.. And I never received what I paid for and I never got any bit of help from these people. The only concern they have was being paid. I mean it was horrible working with these people... Do yourself a favor and do not use them.

Let me start by saying, I get at least 1 person calling trying to sell me Google advertising everyday. I am spending about 5,000 a month to Google. When Hibu called me they had a very nice saleslady convince me that they can save me 1500 a month and give you more customers. I was very happy with the customers I was already getting. I just wanted to lower my advertising cost. The sales Rep. from Hibu was very knowledgeable. We talked on several different occasions until finally we met for lunch and drinks. My owner of the shop came and her boss came as well. Hibu was very convincing. They stated if we would give them a shot, we would not be disappointed, and "If we were you could cancel at anytime by sending an e-mail to Hibu."
After several cocktails my owner of my shop left and told them as long as we could cancel at anytime he was good with giving Hibu a try. Within a week the phones quit ringing. I contacted Hibu and was given the run around excuse after excuse. They have caused me to lose 90% of sales. What a terrible job. I tried canceling - no one would take my calls for almost 2 weeks, and when I finally got someone on the phone they said I was in a 6 month contract no cancel of your contract. All I can say is LIARS. AVOID HIBU.

We were sold by a traveling salesman that knocked on our door to sell us on their Search Engine Optimization (SEO) capabilities to get our website to list on the first page of Google searches. He stated that he could get our website to the top of page 1 in Google in just a few short months. We learned through sad experience and thousands of dollars later that this simply couldn't be done by Hibu. The worst thing they did to us was charge us to "recreate" our website. I gave them full access to our GoDaddy hosted account. This was my biggest mistake because I trusted them. From this point on, they then claimed our website as THEIR property--even though it was exactly the same website in every way appearance-wise from our original.
So, when we finally found out Hibu was simply a scam (because they provided us NO changes in our position in any Google search) we decided to end this scam and paid through the end of our contract date. By so doing we also, of course, stopped paying any further fees to them. This is when these scam artists literally turned our website off. I called and called and even begged to have our website turned back on to absolutely no avail. They told me that if we wanted THEIR website, we would have to continue service. In other words, they held our website as hostage in order to get more payment from us. We could never talk to the same customer service person to resolve anything. Crooks and thieves. Stay away from this company!

I have never had so many problems with a company as I had with HIBU! The website in particular was a complete disaster! Instead of listing my restaurant phone number they put my personal cell phone number on the site, plus my home address! It took several calls to fix it. Then instead of listing what my restaurant sells they put every kind of dish that we don't sell. My restaurant is Kentucky Fried Chicken! Everyone knows about Kentucky Fried Chicken, except HIBU! Then when I called my sales rep, she never called me back and yes, I had the right phone number because when my contract was up she called me on that same number. I told her I wanted the website canceled and taken off. That didn't happen as I found out later. So another call. Hopefully this time it will be taken off. What a nightmare!

I advertise with HIBU (yellow book). I wanted my business cell phone number added to my advertisement this year. Which is the same number my rep called me three or four times. We looked over the proof, made a couple changes and mailed it back. Yes mail! Not email. When the phone book came out none of the changes were done and they put in the wrong phone number in. Then I wound up having to pay for half of the ad which I'm not very happy about. They informed me that they never got the proof back in the mail!

I signed up with this company. My rep was Drew. Drew was incompetent and a liar. I was promised a video ad, the ad that was online about my business was wrong advertising the wrong services, so was my address. When I contacted Drew to cancel my account he wanted to know why I changed my mind overnight. Then this guy actually signed my name on their contract. The next thing I know am in court. Don't DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Search the cases in your state. They sue everyone every day for nothing.

This has been, without a doubt, the worst business decision I have ever made by entering into a relationship with Hibu. In November of 2014, we turned over our Google Adwords account to Hibu. I knew it would take some time to return to the results I was getting when I was running our Campaign with Google but I did not anticipate that we would be down 90% in sales during the required six month commitment. I was in contact with my Hibu Google Adwords representative during this time and expressed my concerns. He was responsive but it seemed I was responsible to change the downward sales spiral with little or no input.
My question was "what am I paying you for" when it seemed I needed to do most of the work. When we contacted Customer Service to inform them that we were terminating the agreement, the games really started to begin. Long story short - we were billed for $3100 for services that were suppose to end at the end of the six month term. We are in the process of trying to get our final bill adjusted but I hold little hope considering the track record of this company. Please learn from my mistake - think twice, or more, before you enter into a business agreement with Hibu.

Did not contact me when they said they would. They said they would contact me before anything went live, then billed me. Then they called me to get paid. I said, "You forgot to call me." Then told them I wanted to cancel repeatedly. They keep calling. One time I asked, "Where I see this advertising I paid for?" He said, "The ad was taken down." The next time they billed me again this guy said, "We are still running ad for you so that's why we are still billing you." I said, "I canceled months ago." This went on for months.
