I buy the Easy Street warranty on most new cars once I get near the end of my mfg warranty (2016 BMW 525, 2024 GMC Yukon SLT, 2014 Jeep Cherokee). They paid out on every claim submitted, which of course are mostly on the BMW (none on the Yukon but it only has 32000 miles on it so far). No questions asked. Guessing that those who leave one star review bought the lower tier programs. ROUTE 66 is very transparent and highly recommended. Peace of mind mile after mile.

I am very disappointed that the Credit Union would sell a contract from a 1.3 rating company. My experience with Route 66 to say the least very unprofessional. They deemed my breakdown as a pre-existing condition and refused to pay for the service. You figure after you pay $3500 for a warranty extended warranty on a later model car that you would not get this type of service. The bill of goods they sell is a breach of contract. Beware.

And after taking it to a mechanic because of severe oil consumption because of the rings digging into the cylinder wall, we submitted our worthless claim through our what was thought a peace of mind. Immediately declined coverage just like everyone else who has ever been so unfortunate as to buy into this scam. Cody who has no mechanical understanding told me under page 2 of the agreement that even though in late 1 states in bold letters it covers piston rings that out in fact didn't because of normal wear. This is a scam. And I'm going to try to hire an attorney to go after them. Don't waste your money people. This company only has a 1 star rating and has a way out of everything.

I was offered the Easy Street warranty through my credit union and was told it was a bumper to bumper warranty and the top tier coverage that was offered. My credit union charged me an additional $3800. I drive a 2022 Ford Super Duty with a 6.7 diesel. The contract stated that the diesel, 4x4, etc., was covered. I got the coverage at 70k miles. I’m currently at 100,308 miles and my DEF injector is bad and my truck is stuck in limp mode, meaning it won’t drive over 5 mph. I reached out to Route 66 and they said anything emissions related is not covered nor is airbags, safety restraints, wiring, and many more items that are covered under factory warranty but not under Route 66.

Now the emissions could end up costing me over $10k if the injector caused other items to be damaged. I paid almost $4k for an extended warranty for items that typically do not break on a 6.7 diesel and with the wording and the very small print, I would think that Route 66 would not cover anything major that is covered and would try and find a way to not pay for it like blaming the emissions system.

I have purchased 2 warranties through Route 66. Here is what I have found:

      - They say “no deductible” but will deny service until you agree to pay for the “tear down” out of pocket.
      - They say coverage begins on day 1 but then deny services stating “the policy length is too short”.
      - They claim to cover engine parts but will deny services claiming that the issues “likely” began prior to the service date of the contract.

      - They don’t need to prove anything as they will tell you “we reserve the right to deny any claim we see fit”.

It doesn’t matter if the expert mechanics tell them the issue likely just started, they will deny the claim. Their customer service is absolute dog shit. Don’t bother. It’s an expensive mistake to make.

Don't get warranty on a new car first of all because it's a waste, nothing will go wrong with your car until warranty is voided. Second if you buy a used car make sure the dealer fixes all issues unless they sell as is. Our find our how to fix it yourself.

I have a 2019 Honda Pilot with 81K miles. The high-pressure fuel pump is making a great deal of noise. They will not cover it because it has not failed. The noise is so loud you can hear it over the radio and it get louder upon acceleration. I submit that the noise itself is a failure. It also has a rough start, but because it has not totally failed, they will not cover the repair. I am very upset about this. I have worked in the automotive field for 15 years and I was an ASE certified mechanic, before becoming a police officer for the last 25 years. A properly functioning high pressure fuel pump would not be making this noise and would have a smooth start. Very dissatisfied and unhappy! Please do not waste your money on extended warranty plans from Route 66.

So after my vehicle ran out of the dealership extended warranty I decided to go through my local credit union and get another extended warranty. I had no problems with my vehicle and my vehicle only had 116,000 mi on And it's 10 years old. I purchased the warranty for $3,000. In September took my car in for repairs and a tune-up in December. Everything checked out good though I did notice after the tune-up I had a ticking noise. Last oil change was in November. Didn't save the receipt because we're pretty regular on changing oil. Took the vehicle in to have it assessed in January. Ticking noise says that I have a stuck lifter, The camshaft is delaminated and I have a flat spot. Took vehicle back in to have other repairs done and assess the warranty but I had purchased 6 months ago. Can no longer cancel the warranty.

Expense on vehicle over $6,000 and completely denied because I can't come up with a receipt for an oil change. Vehicle only worth 6800 according to whoever and whatever. Really had a bad day spent $40,000 on a brand new vehicle that I didn't plan to buy at the moment. If I could have canceled this warranty. Like most warranties you can cancel anytime. I sure as hell would have and I sure won't suggest them because the nasty message that I got back after just asking them to send an inspector out to look at my vehicle even though the dealership tested my oil and it was clean. So honestly I think they scam the banking institutions. Because calling my bank and letting them know they were rather shocked. So if you purchase this warranty and I'm going to say on my end I only had 60 days to cancel it. Hmmmm makes you wonder. I will add that the vehicle that I own is notorious for doing this.

Why would you buy this coverage? That’s what it is for to cover stuff out of warranty. They were rude and unhelpful. Make sure of the trap if one part that they cover fails and causes engine failure they won’t cover engine. For example injectors fail and they cover new injectors but injector failure ruins engine. I have been without my vehicle for over two weeks because Route 66 Warranty/Auto Services Company Inc. cannot manage basic logistics. My claim (**) was authorized for a rebuilt transmission, but the company has now 'lost' two separate shipments. The first unit vanished in transit. The second unit was supposedly delivered today but was sent to the wrong business because the driver 'couldn't locate' a major AAMCO franchise in Boise. My claims adjuster, Justin, has been unable to provide a resolution other than 'ordering another one' and waiting.

They refuse to authorize a locally sourced unit that the shop has on the shelf, choosing instead to save a few dollars while I incur hundreds of dollars in rental car fees and loss of use. They are hiding behind a $200 rental cap that their own incompetence has exhausted. If you are considering a Route 66 plan, be warned: their 'nationwide coverage' is only as good as their shipping vendors, and currently, those vendors are failing. I have filed a formal notice of intent to involve the Idaho Department of Insurance. Avoid this company if you actually need your car fixed in a reasonable timeframe.

Since the HVAC system still worked Route 66 would not honor the claim. I am out $324.59.

This company is a scam!! I bought the warranty for a peace of mind on our used vehicle purchase, 3 months after owing vehicle we had a check engine light come on and started running rough, we took the car to Pepboys who said it was low on compression, so we contacted the warranty company and they sent their own adjuster out, after week of waiting they informed me they would not cover the cost of repairs due to the head being cracked, now I'm not sure how they determine that by just looking at an engine but told me it was preexisting and they would not cover any cost, I would not recommend this warranty company to anyone, I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing the warranty.

I currently have Route 66, purchased through credit union auto financing. I have used them twice and I have not had a negative experience per se. I bought my used vehicle November 2022. May 2023 my car overheated while travelling. Went to a local shop and was told that I had lost over 1/2 of my coolant. Shop topped me off (no charge) and I carefully made my way back to Tallahassee, FL. Had car towed to dealership and it was back and forth between the dealership and Route 66 to finally Route 66 agreed to cover the engine replacement (not after me having to submit maintenance records). I ended up paying roughly $2100 and Route 66 paid the rest. Fast forward to August 2025, my car starts skipping really bad. Took it to the dealership and I was told I needed the torque converter replaced. Dealership called Route 66 and they (Route 66) only paid about $1700 and I had to cover $2100 balance.

I was told by advisor that Route 66 says that dollar amount is what was left on the coverage or something because he thought that was pretty low as well. I was initially told by Route 66 that they cover parts and labor, which I was fine with but really did not know there is a "limit" as that is not explained by the credit union nor Route 66. The Rental coverage is a hard punch to the gut. I was told today (10/16/2025) that the only cover rental based on the amount of shop hours. Was told that my claim was 11 hours and he could round up to 12 hours and that would have been about $150.00.

I had to rent a car from September 6, 2025 and returned on October 4, 2025. Now this was due to the dealership and not Route 66. So, I ended up spending $1100 for a rental and to only be offered $150 was a major gut punch and I declined. So, am currently looking into another warranty that has the information of coverages and limitations spelled out like the auto insurance companies do.
