I took my car to the NTB located on the East-West Connector in Austell Georgia to have my battery replaced. I spoke with the manager and informed him that I had been told by Walmart that my battery replacement would require the replacement of a clamp on one of my battery cables. The manager at NTB informed me that his mechanics did not see a problem with the clamp and proceeded to tell me the price of the battery replacement. However, when he quoted the cost, he did not explain the warranty of the battery, replacement, or pro-rating agreement. I had to ask. Once he explained the very limited warranty and replacement policy, I mentioned that his work quote greatly exceeded the previous place I'd gone to and the warranty was more limited.

At that, he stated to me that he needed to hurry up and get me out of there. To that statement, I asked if he were indeed speaking to me and that he could simply get my car keys because he would not get my business. At that time, several of his mechanics began holding him and telling me that he was only playing. I stated again for them to return my keys. They drove my car back out to the parking lot and did not acknowledge me. I drove away. I took my car to a third establishment and they confirmed for me that the clamp indeed needed to be replaced as Walmart had indicated. So, the employees at NTB were dishonest; and the manager's behavior was deplorable to say the least. Nothing would cause me to take my car to NTB ever again.

When communicating with management to set up appointment, parts and information from other technicians, I am highly dissatisfied. The communication between one Manager to the other was not conveyed when it was time to get my vehicle services. I had to explain everything that was supposed to be conveyed to another Manager verbally. When I asked the one manager why wasn't this communicated, the manager's response about the other manager was, "he forgets to write things down and communicate important information to others". This is highly unacceptable when dealing with customer service.

The power steering on my 2003 Honda Civic went out a few months ago. I always get repairs at the dealer, but I was too scared to drive it there with the steering out. I went to NTB in downtown Houston since it was closest to my work. They told me my rack and pinion was leaking and needed to be replaced to the tune of $1,500. I was hesitant about doing actual car repair with a tire and battery shop, but decided to go ahead. What a mistake.

A week after the repair, my steering went out again. I brought it back and they said it looked fine. They replaced the fluid and said it must have been an air bubble in the hose. I went on my way. A week later, my steering went out again. This time as I was pulling onto a busy road, it's a miracle I wasn't hit. I brought it back. The third time they said they would replace the fluid pump and the rack and pin and didn't charge me for the labor or the pump.

I started thinking that I never needed a rack and pin to begin with, that it was always just the pump which would have been a MUCH cheaper repair. All seemed well for the past three months. Then guess what? A week ago my car starts wailing when I turn sharply. It was the same sound as before. I get it to my dealer (the only people I trust at this point) and the rack and pin was severely leaking which caused the pump to malfunction. Both pieces needed to be replaced.

Faced with the option of taking it back to NTB (not an option) or pay $2,000 I decided to trade it in and get a new car. My Honda had at least two more years on it. There was nothing else wrong with the engine. Not only did NTB's work put my life at risk, but I ended up losing my car two years before I planned. I gave the manager a courtesy call before posting this review and hoped they would refund my money. He said he'd call me back but I haven't heard from him. Please take your business elsewhere. This company cannot be trusted.

I had my oil changed, tires rotated. I got a call from them I was 5 min away. They said my alignment was real bad. I got there and said "how long will it take". He said "it's done." In 5 minutes? It was already on the rack? What? No way. SO I guess I got ripped off on that? No way to tell except common sense says you can't adjust 4 wheels in five minutes especially if they were real bad. SO I got home and the car is dripping oil. Never before. I called and he said maybe something is broken under there. What? Anyway I changed the oil and rotated tires this time. The lug nuts were loose on front wheels. There was no freaking washer on the oil plug. The manager Frank was covering all this up the whole time. This is a ** location!!! They have offered me no answer and I have been real nice to them. Beware of Frank and Canton GA NTB...

During buying process of 4 new tires, was hit with additional mounting fees after given total price. Was only customer in store during the 2 hours taken to complete job. Before tire work started, after 1 hour 15 minutes was notified my trans fluid, brake fluid, engine oil and filter, coolant, power steering fluid, transfer case fluid, differential fluids (front and rear), front and rear brakes all needed changing. Completely false information. Not what I was there for and NOT notified these tests would be performed until completed.

Informed manager to get with the project and complete the tire change asap. Purchase included lifetime rotate and balance. Totaling 11 attempts in 4 states while travelling including 2 Houston stores, was NEVER ABLE TO HAVE ROTATION AND BALANCE PERFORMED THAT I PAID FOR. Was given different excuses but main one was "too busy to get to today -- come back in a couple of days." 4 of the stores making this statement had no current customers in store. When brought this to their attention, stated appointments were in place. Such a bunch of lies and deception as this attitude obviously comes from a corporate level. Do not give your hard earned money to these communist Nazis.

NTB - National Tire & Battery, 460 US-79, Hutto, TX 78634. I truly wish that I could let everyone know about our experience without giving them any stars. The only thing worse than the service they performed on our car was the customer service they provided afterwards. The nightmare that I am still living today after they performed careless work a month ago. At the end of April 2016 we got the back driver's side tire patched. One week later the front drivers wheel CAME OFF while we were driving! The tires have locking lug nuts that only we and the mechanics have access to. Luckily no one got hurt or this would be a completely different story. This experience would have manifested into a news article about a woman euthanizing these negligent poor excuses for human beings nonetheless mechanics.

Why was there a problem with the front wheel when the work was performed on the back one? WE'D LIKE TO KNOW THAT AS WELL! We called them after the wheel came off and made the expectation very clear that they were going to take care of the damages sustained and that we were placing the blame on them, rightfully so. The manager, ** said that he would. After determining that they were "not at fault" and were not able to reach us because we were at work, they performed the work anyway without authorization. The bill came to 600-700 dollars, 400 of which was already completed. I immediately escalated this to their corporate office dba "Tire Kingdom". Sorry consumers, this corporation is not here to help you. Their contact center is literally only there to notate your experience and it is dependent on you calling back in with your own updates. What do they actually do with this information? Not much.

They did however forward the complaint to the district manager. The district manager, ** contacted me and assured me that he watched the video recording and they never touched the front wheel. He stated that although they weren't at fault, they were willing to take care of the work that had been done so far. We still needed to buy a new wheel, mind you. I asked to view the video tape. This is when he changed his tone completely. He then started to say that right now we are in a "gray" area where they were not at fault but were still willing to help us out. If we maintained that they were at fault, they would not help and we would need to submit a claim to their third party insurance company, Sedgwick insurance. (Consumers have reported instances where the insurance adjuster only inspected the claim visually and made their decision based on that alone, this makes sense why they fixed the damage without authorization).

He stated that if we decided to go that route, nothing would be covered as a "courtesy". I know this game, so I played it too. I asked if I were to allow them to cover the cost, would this be considered a "settlement". They stated that it does not constitute as a settlement as they were not admitting fault. So to get us back on the road as fast as I could and to just forget this nightmare, I said "Fine. I'll get the wheel and have it put on somewhere else." No way, they will touch any of our cars again. We go to pick up the car. The battery is dead. WOW. WHY IS THE BATTERY DEAD? HOW USELESS ARE YOU? Why am I so angry and why do I maintain that they are at fault? Why would any corporation utilize video cameras in their work spaces and not use them to show the consumer, "Look, see? We didn't do anything so pay your bill!" Why would they pay for the work and why were they so quick to fix it even without authorization or deposit?

It makes no sense and a very clear red flag. I found out where they ordered the wheel from and called them myself. They ordered a refurbished OEM wheel for our car from Hubcab Annie in Austin. (Which they put on the bill as "new"). I told the representative my story and let her know that they should just plan on charging NTB the restocking fee. I would have bought it from them but I found it for half the price somewhere else and shipped to me in three days for free. Three days later, I call Discount Tire at 13000 N. Interstate Hwy. 35 Bldg. 7 Austin, TX to ask them how much it would be to mount and balance a tire on the wheel. **, the manager was friendly and asked me why I needed just one and started to make conversation. I told him my story and he told me that he would do it for free because we've been through enough. If only we knew about this location's caliber of service before all of this happened.

At this point, we had accepted the fact that we would never see justice about what happened. The cost of a lawyer would be much more than the cost to be recouped in small claims court. Fast forward three weeks, 6/3/16, the tire that THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO WORK ON IS FLAT. This whole time, the issue was with the front tire coming off when they were only to patch up the back tire and now the work that they do own up to performing is showing to be negligent as well. I lost it. I contacted the call center again and requested this to be escalated to someone else besides **. They ask me to call a different number, the consumer affairs department. The agent on the line asks me for the resolution that I would like to see and I let her know that I want to see the video and now we need a tire because apparently the patch was applied improperly and it is now cracked and irreparable. Another leader calls me, something **.

Don't know what his first name is – don't care. He again assures me that he has also seen the video and that they were not at fault. OK LET ME SEE IT. He states that he was unsure if I would be able to but his "AP guy" could send me screenshots or short clips. As long as it includes the time that the car came into the bay until it left, I don't care what it is. He also stated that the AP guy may be able to meet with me and allow me to view it on a laptop. **: "But I'm not sure, so I don't want to say that we can do that for sure." He then states that they would refund us the cost of a new tire. He concludes by stating that he would text me his email for me to submit the invoice and that he would let me know about the video after he spoke with his AP person.

Three hours later, still no text (by the way, contacts with both ** and ** were over personal cellphone which means anything they say is not recorded – extremely shady and unprofessional; this company might as well be a pile of feces) I send a very diplomatic "Looking forward to hearing from you or your colleague." One hour later, he sends this message "No problem! I spoke with our AP department and we are going to reopen the issue with our claims department. They will be the only ones that can get you what your (you're, idiot) looking for. They will be contacting you or your sister directly. My (again, idiot) email is **." I have sent four follow up messages since then. No answer, no courtesy call, nothing. Who is supposed to follow up with me? What is wrong with this company?! I guess I need to call their contact center each time so that they can get their leaders to take care of their duties???

So here we are. A tire that was patched that is now flat three weeks later. A tire/wheel that was "never touched" came off as we were driving and caused damage to the wheel and studs causing 600-700 dollars' worth of damage, not to mention the damage on the body around that wheel. A video that would absolve the company from fault that we're not allowed to view. They are betting that we won't pursue them in small claims and to be honest I wasn't going to, it just wasn't worth it. I just wanted to let it go but now, I don't care how much it costs, I've got money to burn since I can't burn something else.

The cars were under warranty, I got 3 more mechanics at 3 different shops to look the car over, didn't mention it was under warranty. None were the dealer because I know they would not want to fix a warranty issue, so I went elsewhere just to see. The other shops showed me no leaks. NTB didn't even offer and each time nothing was leaking. Their estimates were 2000 and 1300.

I took my car in for new rear tires. Before I took it in my car was driving great and had absolutely no issues besides the balding rear tires. All they were supposed to do is put on rear tires, balance, and do alignment. Immediately afterwards I notice an odd sound coming from the rear. Sounds like a tires is low pressure, not on all the way, something off. Plus when I take curves such as exit/on ramps to the highway, the traction control comes on and the car is very unstable despite low speed.

I took my car back in within a week to have it looked at, giving them the benefit of doubt. They claim my rear bearings are worn out and need to be replaced, costing $1000. My car mileage is not high enough for them to be worn out that much and it had absolutely none of these symptoms before I took it in. Taking it to my trusted mechanic hoping he can find what in the world they did and hopefully fix it. I'll update once I do. Their prices are uncompetitive and their mechanics suck, do NOT go there to have your car worked on. Pity that they bought Tire Kingdom because they used to do a good job.

This place is HORRIBLE!! I have given it multiple tries hoping that the bad service was just a fluke (I try to be as understanding as possible). The first time, I had a coupon for an oil change and stopped by for a change before work. Since I had three hours before I had to leave for work, I really figured I would be in the clear. When I first got there, I was told that there was one person in front of me, and then it would be my turn. I said that was fine...and an hour later I went up and checked on my car, they said they were about to pull my car in for service. 2 hours later they said they were pulling in my car. 3 hours later they said they were still working on my car! I didn't get my car until 3 hours and 45 minutes later! I felt like my car was kidnapped and there was nothing I could do to get it back! I was never told to expect to wait that long, and was late to work.

My maintenance minder on my car suggested a multitude of checks to perform (check hoses, fluids, brakes, parking brake adjustment, etc). I (foolishly) decided to give NTB another chance hoping that maybe they were just having a rough day. This time I had a sexist salesperson that talked to me like I was an idiot. I went in there with my owner's manual and asked for an estimate for completing all the required checks. He argued with me for a good 15 minutes about how my owner's manual is wrong, and he knows what is best for my car. We finally agreed on a simple oil change and they would check a few of the things I needed checked, and I would get the rest done elsewhere. An hour later, he lets me know what the estimate would be to fix my car. $210 for front brakes, $230 for back brakes, $90 for brake fluid exchange, and $210 to change spark plugs.

I'm not sure if he thought I was some sort of idiot, if he thought I didn't know anything about cars because I was female, or if NTB just has ridiculously high prices and take advantage of their customers. Needless to say I left, while the salesperson continued to belittle me, and tried to make it sound like my car wasn't going to make it off the parking lot unless I dropped $820 on the spot. Called an old friend of mine that could do all that for between $100-$150 (he would charge about $200 in his shop). AVOID NTB like the PLAGUE! Horrible service (sexist, rude), horrible wait times, and OUTRAGEOUSLY overpriced (over 4 TIMES higher than competition). I assume NTB's business model is just to fool people into paying for overpriced services and take advantage of people that don't know any better. Again, DO NOT GO HERE!

My 82 year old mother went in for a simple oil change with no symptoms that anything was wrong with her 3 year old Lexus. She walked out after paying these THIEVES $452 dollars. She was having no trouble with her battery, but these THIEVES told her she needed a new one so she got one. Then these THIEVES suckered her into a Power Steering Fluid Exchange - $89.99 for the exchange, $39.99 for some sort of "Power Steering Kit", and $50 for the labor.

Then they told her she needed to balance her tires for $50. After that these THIEVES convinced her she needed a Fuel System Tune-up for $109.99 which included a 3-part fuel kit for 22.50, Fuel Saver Tune up Labor for 87.49. So this simple $20 oil change ended up costing her $452. I do not know how these guys sleep at night taking advantage of the elderly like this!!! I went to NTB with a coupon for an oil change & tire rotation at a reasonable fee of $19.99. While they were servicing my vehicle the employee at the front desk informed me they couldn't rotate my tires because they were manufactured in 2010. Which exceeds their 5 year old limit policy. My Honda is a 2011 with barely over 24,000 miles with the original tires. Therefore, it defies sound reason and common logic the tires are too old to rotate. Obviously, just a transparent ploy to lure people in... then short change them with disreputable business ethics.

Furthermore, another customer's tires were rotated but not balanced. Perhaps she had to pay more, but rotating and balancing tires are standard practice everywhere I've been. There were three (3) clients waiting for the completion of the same service. I was there one (1) hour and 20 minutes minimum. There were others still who arrived before me still waiting for their oil changes & tire rotation when I left the place. Absolutely!... The worst oil change experience since I received my driver's license in 1957. Avoid this outfit like the plague!

He then tried to get me to open a charge account in order to get the work done. I told him absolutely not! I recently purchased a tire from NTB in Bloomingdale, IL. Two weeks after, I had to go back because my brand new tire is losing air. First, when I went in the store to talk to the man at the desk, he was typing on the computer and told me and this other woman that he'd be with us in a few minutes. In the meantime, another man came out and I talked to him while the other was still on the computer. I told him the problem and he said I'd have to make an appointment, so I made one for 5:00. I came back at that time and another said they were running behind and they probably wouldn't get to my car for 2 hours.

I didn't mind waiting when they put the new tire on but I feel they should have taken care of this problem as soon as I came back. No offense to the other customers waiting but when you have to come back only 2 weeks after you buy the tire and they act like you're an inconvenience, then something's wrong. I should have listened to the complaints I read about this place.

Local shop is fine. I didn't have the correct lug nuts to install new wheels/snow tires in November 2015, but they happened to have a box of the correct lug nuts left to perform installation (the lug nuts set, aka "wheel installation kit" was an NTB "exclusive" brand. I was also told at that time that those items are being discontinued - lug nuts came with a spline key to install/remove). I cracked the spline key recently while removing the snow tires/wheels, and needed a replacement to swap the rest of the wheels/tires. Being a discontinued item, local shops did not have it, and suggested checking the website. I tried Advance Auto, but their key didn't match. I contacted NTB/TBC, requesting either instructions on how I can order the spline key, or suggestions on a compatible 3rd party key.

In the end, I was dumbfounded and disgusted. The final response was "we do not manufacture any auto parts. This would not be exclusive to our company or any of its subsidiary company. The wheel installation kit is what we call our Installation Package which is the mount/install and balancing of the tire when it is installed on your rim. We did not provide the spline key for you. The spline key comes with your vehicle's spare tire".

Less than two years ago, I took my car in because the brakes were squeaking even when not engaged. I had the calipers, brake pads and rotors replaced on both rear tires. They replaced the brake pads and rotors. When I picked my car back up it still was making the same sound. They reinspected it and found the rear caliper had seized up. They wanted to charge me the full labor amount to replace it even though they claimed to have inspected it when the tire was off. I argued them down on the cost of labor, because they should have found it when the tire was already off. 11 months later, my brakes began squeaking again. When I took my car back in, they told me the rotor was warped and would need to be replaced. They told me that the rotors were not warrantied anymore and I would have to pay for a new one. I asked if it was normal that a rotor would last less than 12 months.

I was told "it depends" without any other clarification. It was only after arguing with them that they agreed to fix the rotor for free. Recently, my brakes began squeaking again. I took my car to a different shop and was told the caliper had seized again. When I asked NTB if they were still under warranty, I was told that the warranty was only 90 days. The caliper had lasted less than two years and NTB told me they could do nothing about it except replace it again at my expense. The shop that had my car (Bob Sumerel Tire) told me that they would give a lifetime warranty if I had it replaced with them at roughly the same cost. Do not use NTB. There are other chains that will actually warranty the work they do and not use shoddy parts.

While shopping for tires online I came across NTB's current tire promotion, buy 2 tires and get the other 2 for free, with the purchase of the Value Installation Package! Talk about a serious scam and waste of time of consumers! The tires I was interested in were the Cooper RTX, a cost of $237 per tire. The total would have been $474+tax, which would have been approximately just over $500. However, when they told me it would cost just over $939 they totally lost my interest!

This Value Installation Package basically consists of an alignment, a 1 year/12,000 mile road hazard warranty, balancing and rotation of the tires! So, to be clear, for this so-called value package, I would have paid an additional $400+! To be clear, an alignment generally starts off at $79 and up, depending on vehicle and the place of business doing it! Tire rotation and balancing is generally about $20-40, depending on place of business! And any type of road hazard warranty varies in price, again, depending on tire brand and place of business! At any rate, anyone with the slightest bit of common sense can clearly see this promotion is a big rip-off, and for that matter, all consumers should beware of any promotion like this, especially from NTB!

Run Forest Run... On 18 February 2016, my mom’s Toyota 4Runner started running roughly and the check engine light was on and occasionally flashing. I took it to NTB at 5400 Capital Boulevard in Raleigh, NC. I have frequently used this facility because they have serviced my work vehicles in the past without any issues. The technician ran a diagnosis and concluded that it required a tune-up. I said no problem because I was pretty sure that was the problem and told them to proceed.

At that time, I was quoted ~269 dollars. I told them "no problem, let’s do it." A couple of hours later I was told it shouldn’t be much longer. Two additional hours later I could tell they were having an issue because I could see through the shop door that several technicians were hovering over the hood. They informed me that they were having a problem with the No. 1 and No. 6 and were swapping the coils/wires to further pinpoint the new problem of the vehicle not starting. Around 10:00 pm they asked me if I had a ride home because the vehicle needed to stay overnight. They gave me a ride home that evening which I was thankful for.

On 19 February 2016, I called and was told the same thing several times that they were still working on it after being on hold forever. On 20 February 2016, I called and was informed again that they were still working on it and may have to have it towed to a Toyota dealer. I asked to speak with the manager; however, he was out for the evening. On 21 February 2016, I spoke with ** and he said he would call me back. I never heard back from him.

On 22 February 2016, I talked with ** and he said they got it figured out and that my vehicle was ready for pick up. Upon arrival, I didn’t see the vehicle outside. Hmmmm that’s odd. I could see the vehicle sitting in the same bay from Thursday evening with the hood open. I asked ** was everything ok? He replied "yes they’re just resetting the ECM to clear the trouble code." So I paid him the 750 dollars for the so called repairs and he did a great job of explaining the new inflated charges.

Mom and I were a bit sticker shocked at the price of this tune up, but was assured the vehicle was now fixed. I helped my mom back into her 4Runner and I got a call 5 minutes later and she says the vehicle is doing the exact same thing from four days ago. At this point we have lost ALL faith in anyone at this facility due to the following: Lack of good communication, inferior work and/or parts, no one test drove the vehicle after repairs, inflated repair costs, inconvenience. To make a long story short the vehicle is still at NTB at 5400 Capital Boulevard in Raleigh, NC under **’s care. In hindsight I really wish I had gotten a second opinion or fixed it myself, because it has only gone downhill from day one. I will not ever use this facility again!

DON'T TRUST THE MECHANICS!! I had previously gone to NTB for tire plugs & had a good experience. However, I went to them this last time to do an alignment check to see if it was needed before purchasing new tires. Instead of doing that, they took my car apart & tried to sell me other services saying it would probably cost me around $2500 - $2700 for a new water pump & belt, and tires. After 2 hours, they never did the alignment check & just said, "yeah, probably that too."

When I said I wasn't having this "other stuff" done right then, the mechanic got irritated & made it sound like I was going to die if I didn't have this done at that moment. He put my belt back on incorrectly & it started a horrible squealing that it did not have before. It turns out, he had my belt on incorrectly & was hanging about a 1/4" over the wheel! I have no faith in their ability to do simple mechanical work as they could have done more damage to my vehicle. I am hopeful that was not intentional, but I'm not so sure. NTB had no response to this.

NTB a real SCAM ARTIST and RIPOFF PLACE. They never did an alignment. I bought 4 Sumitomo tires with lifetime tire rotation and 1 year wheel alignment programme for $857.66 with a 90,000 warranty in September 9th 2013 at NTB Niles, IL, and did follow up alignment within 1 year. I hardly drove my car for near 20,000 miles and used to have the tire rotated every 6 months from NTB itself. Then I noticed the tires wearing out erratically and approached a reputed alignment place who inspected the alignment and gave a report that the toe settings are dangerously aligned.

Also found one of the tires was breaking apart and certified that no professional alignment had not been done for the car for the last three years! Then I approached an NTB store and talked about the warranty who said that they are not responsible for the wearing out of the tires even though I had done all the regular checkup in NTB itself and agreed to cover the warranty for the one tire that was breaking apart for $149 which cost me more than I originally paid for one tire. I went to a local SAM\S Club who gave me a very reputed brand tire just for $129 and did the proper alignment at a professional place.

I learned of this business through the National Tire and Battery website and through a Google search. I have taken my vehicle to the Gum Branch, Jacksonville, NC one on a few occasions for an oil change without issue. I also bought the tires for my car here. I was having issues with my manual vehicle and I thought it might be the transmission fluid. When I called the receptionist asked me if my check engine light is on and I said yes. She said if they ran a diagnostic they would tell me what was wrong with my car. I asked if the diagnostic would also tell me if my transmission fluid was low. She said it would. The diagnostic would cost $99.

I brought my vehicle in and the guy told me that the clutch was bad (which it is not, I had another mechanic verify that), and then he told me that my check engine light was on due to my catalytic converter intake being insufficient and that I needed to go down the road to another place because they don't fix that at the shop. When I asked for a printout of the readings or for the code he told me they can't do printouts and that the number was P0204. When I called the auto place he recommended, they said the P0402 code didn't even exist. This place is a scam. I have no evidence that they actually ran the test. The code they gave me didn't exist. When I walked in I told the guy name Roy someone left me on hold for 17 mins and he looked and said "Oh, how can I help?" No "Sorry for inconvenience" or anything. SMH. So now my time is being wasted sitting here waiting for them to put on a new tire going on 1hr. My next set of tires will not come from this place.

Didn't even have the common courtesy to go get the tire for me, instead he blew me off and said that it would be too late by the time he goes and get it so I should go get it. I was headed toward Charlotte but the nearest NTB was in Monrow, opposite direction so that's even more time and gas wasted. Also while I was there for about 45 mins I saw the Mgr Jason walk out of his office yawning as if he had been asleep. I sarcastically asked and he said no. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I took my son's beat-up 2002 Mustang in for 2 tires, a free alignment check, and a free brake inspection. After the inspections I authorized a $90 alignment and a $149 basic rear brake job. I stated multiple times that they needed to call me about anything else they found because I was not going to put more than $500 into a car that was only worth about $1200. Got a call saying the calipers needed to be replaced so I asked "How much?" I was told that the calipers were being delivered from NAPA and they couldn't give me a price until the parts arrived. I said OK and to call me once they knew the price.

Again I reiterated that if the cost was substantial I would likely choose to keep the old brakes. I hear nothing all day the next day until just before 7 p.m. when I get a call saying, "Your car is ready to pick up." I asked how that could be when I had not authorized any of the additional repairs? They guy who called said he didn't know. He was just calling to let me know it was ready. I asked for the amount of the bill and nearly swallowed my tongue when he read off a number that was over $1400.

I just came from picking the car up. It turned out they put four new tires on the car, not two, because I "really needed them" and they "gave me a great deal." They charged $192 for the brake job itself but then added over $100 in labor for doing the brake job and then even more labor for installing the calipers. I ranted and raved, telling them I wanted them to put the car back the way it was except for what I had originally authorized - two front tires and an alignment - but the most they would do is deduct an additional 10% off the price. I paid the bill because I needed to get the car back, but I also got the District Manager's name and number. I'll be calling him as well as the BBB tomorrow.

On 31 Dec 2015, our Toyota 4Runner started running roughly and the check engine light came on. My husband took it to NTB in Mt. Juliet, TN. He had had his brakes replaced there a few months ago AND we bought tires there for our Prius. My husband was impressed with one of its former employees (Will). Although Will was no longer there, we had no reason to believe that quality service would not be delivered. The Mt. Juliet team ran a diagnosis and concluded that it required a rather extensive tune-up. Although the diagnosis fee they charged was quite a bit more than what we had been quoted a few months earlier from Will, in good faith, we asked them to proceed. Their cost for the tune-up was $878.11.

We were aghast at the price of this tune-up, but believed that NTB was a reputable operation that would do good work and we wanted the car properly fixed. It was on that basis that we decided to proceed. In hindsight we really wish we had gotten a second opinion, because it has only gone downhill from there and we not only KNOW that the work that was done was inferior and insufficient, we believe that NTBs Mt. Juliet operation is operating out of integrity.

After the car was tuned up, my husband drove the car home on the eve of the 31st during which the check engine light came on again and the car was running even more roughly than when he took it in originally. He called NTB Mt. Juliet immediately, and was asked by Mike, that because of the new years holiday, the gentleman with whom they wanted him to consult, would be out. Therefore, Mike requested that we bring the car back in on Tuesday, 5 January. Please be advised that every time he takes the car in and leaves it, it is complicated as he needs a car with which to go to and from work. Therefore, it is quite disruptive and inconvenient as taking the car in again and again requires that I go pick him up, etc. This has now happened multiple times in the past week and the resulting inconvenience has had a negative effect on our entire family, interfering with my work schedule/income accordingly.

When he took it back the second time, the check engine light was no longer lit up, but the car was still running really badly. Nevertheless, the Mt. Juliet NTB team said they could not find anything wrong, although the mechanic managed to break the handle on the driver's side of the door. My husband took the car away again, and the check engine light came on again. AND the car kept running really badly (cutting out on the Interstate on the way to NTB, which could have resulted in a catastrophic situation.} As a result, he was forced to return the car to NTB for a 3rd time (7 Jan) when he left it there overnight so that they could have sufficient time to properly diagnose the clearly misdiagnosed issue.

When we went to pick up the car the next day, 8 Jan, they informed us that the car needed MORE work (a new fuel-injection pump relay and a new fuel-injection pump relay LABO), with an estimated price tag of $373.18. As you can see, they have not honored their 6 month 6k mile warranty from the original, almost $900 scope of work for which they were originally hired. Rather, they keep adding items to their list of services they insist we need that we don't even know if we really need. As you can imagine, it is hard to know if the original problem was a misdiagnosis and if we just spent close to $900 on work that did not need to be done.

Needless to say, we have a trust problem with this Mt. Juliet NTB team. It appears to us that they have not been honest, they didn't call my husband when they promised to (Rather, he had to keep calling them.), they didn't deliver a proper diagnosis, we don't believe they did the work they say they allegedly did, they charged us a lot of money, they have not stood by their warranty, the car still does not work, and the whole situation is absolutely untenable.

They DID fix the door handle that they broke, however. At this point, we don't trust NTB. Because of the shoddy work and lack of integrity of the Mt. Juliet team, we are now forced to incur even more inconvenience as we seek out someone else to take care of our problem. Of course, that will mean more money spent, while the money that was spent at NTB was like throwing money down a proverbial rat hole. THE PROBLEM WAS NEVER FIXED. This needs to be remedied and this operation needs to be scrutinized closely to avoid other unsuspecting customers from having the same problems we have had. Shame on them.

I was told they had to be ordered and shipped, and that I would have to pay a shipping fee AND would not get the price posted on the website. We agreed on a slightly reduced price (not the lower website price) and made an appointment.

When I arrived at the 10 AM appointment I had to wait 20 min before being waited on. My truck was not even taken in till 10:45 AM. At 11:30 AM I asked why my truck was not even being worked on and I was told the tires that were ordered would not match my truck. (Why did they let me sit there without telling me this?) I had told the person ordering everything about my pickup truck when ordering. (Are these trained tire people not supposed to know what doing and what to ask when ordering?)

So I ordered different tires (which listed as more expensive than Conrad's price for same tire... I had bought tires previously at Conrad's) and they agreed to match Conrad's price, and I made another appointment. When I arrived at 9 AM for my second appointment they did not have my appointment in the system and did not have the agreed upon price. The first response by the person at the counter was that they could not change the price. So I said I was going back to Conrad's and then he agreed to match Conrad's price. Then I was told it would be a few hours before they would start on my car even though I was supposed to have an appointment. Then we had an ice storm 2 days ago, and I could barely keep the car on the road. I quickly notified manager **, who brought car in shop, took armrest apart, rest control and got windows to come up, but never to go down! He explained the control board shorted out, he is sorry it happen when they had car but they are not responsible for electrical problems.

I stated they worked fine when I came in. The technician admitted it happened when he rolling windows up and down, but it could have happened at any time!! I contacted main office. They gave me a complaint number, and stated someone would call me, two days later. A regional manager called and stated he talked to the branch where it happened, and stated they are not paying for any repairs, things happen while they have your car, and they are not responsible. He stated it was their policy to roll windows up and down, and it was a misfortune it broke when their technician had it, but there is nothing they are going to do!!!

The part was 340.00 dollars. I suggested they pay portion, because it did break in their possession, but he continued I would get nothing from National Tire. I totally think this bad business. I was not even offered a returned free oil change, not even "I will fix it if you get part." Nothing at all!! This was Metairie Branch, 4600 Veterans Blvd. With this attitude toward customers I will never go back! I am paying for service, I expect respect!!

I never saw and nobody told me that the total price will be $631 for just struts. I was shocked while I attempted to pay the total. I thought it was wrong. I went to NTB and now it's almost been a year although I've called when this first happened and of course they didn't care! I got new tires, brakes, brake pads, alignment, you name it I got it! $2500 later. My tire blew when I left the store and I called and nothing. $300 for a new tire is all they could do. Came back, took old one off and put spare on. They still have my rim/tire because I decided I would never go back! Sure enough the next couple days I got another flat tire! Called insurance and they wrote a report and towed it to my house. By this point it sat for 3 months unused because I already had my spare on and just spent $2500!

And then finally months later I got it up to my friend's tire place/car shop and they asked who put my brake pads on and I said NTB and he laughed and said they were on backwards and could've killed us! My ** kids were in the car! He said they did a crappy job and it looked like they didn't care if we were killed or not. They just wanted the money.

So, here we are. Later got my car going and my husband went to mow my mother's yard and saw me pull in and he said "Babe you can't drive that car!" I said, "Why?!" He said "The ** belts are sticking out!" They didn't fix the ** alignment because the tires are wore from the inside and we barely drove the ** thing! My husband was in a panic because he is a firemen/paramedic and saves lives every 24 hour shift he's on and it's just unacceptable! We slowly get the car home going about 10 miles an hour and sure enough the ** tire blows causing me to lose control of the vehicle. Again with kids!

So I pay to get tires on again and they said, "Your whole front end is jacked because of what NTB did and this is enough to file a lawsuit. They could've killed your family not just once with brake pads but all the other crap they neglected to fix just to get a paycheck!" My brakes went out too! They didn't do anything!!! Nothing! Just risk my family/children's lives on more than one occasion! I've got reports, pictures, letters from other car place and the list goes on! If it takes me to stop from someone getting killed depending on these people that only care about taking someone's money then so be it! This isn't even all of it but I think this says enough.

I've had people tell me it's too much of a coincidence that all this happened and they gave no regard to anyone! It makes me angry to think of what could've happened to my children! Unacceptable! It looks as if they purposely did things wrong so I would have to come back knowing I would spend good money as I always did there for years! Lesson learned! I have my receipts and order number as well. I keep everything.

Within 24 hours the a light saying TPMS came on indicating TPM System failure, I came in on the following Wednesday and spent several hours in the shop while a technician replaced that sensor and attempted to reprogram the system.

He indicated that the light should go away once I drive it some. This time the TPM light was solid. I drove it the rest of the week with no change and came in again the next weekend. After several hours more wait I was told you need to take it to the dealership. On October 27th, I finally got a chance to take it to the dealership and incurred a significant bill, which I promptly brought over to the Mooresville, NC location. The bill/invoice was photocopied in the office. The manager apologized profusely and was a little hot under the collar that the technician told me to take it to the dealership. Per his words, he said he should have gotten the proper TPM sensor from Honda and they should have put it in. He told me he could not credit me, that he would have to take it to "regional" and that someone would follow up with me on Monday or Tuesday. That was 3 weeks ago.

They then told him they snapped the stud on the tire and were waiting for a part. Now I understand things happen but first of all this is a new car with only 13,000 miles on it. Secondly they could have told us when it happened instead of letting us just sit there. By that time it was too late to call my son for a ride home to get our other car and my husband needed to get to work. They were not offering to give us a ride or cab fare or anything. That afternoon at the shop, the technician explained the leak must have been from drained oil collecting on the underside of the vehicle and caused dripping overnight. The next morning, the leak continued. I returned a third time and left the vehicle overnight. On Saturday morning, I returned a fourth time. The leak was finally fixed.

While the manager was telling me they discovered a washer was missing on the drain plug, my attention was immediately focused on a conspicuous, new scratch next to the driver's door. I explained the damage to the NTB District Manager, Ryan **. Mr. ** final reply is as follows: "After seeing the picture again I cannot see how or where we would have done that type of scratch. It could not have happened inside the bay or while pulling in or out of the shop. I stand by my original decision that we are not responsible for this issue. I apologize for any inconvenience." I believe any customer would find that flip response to be dismissive and demonstrates zero credibility. In truth, mechanic shops are full of potential to scratch a car. Let me be clear... I take responsibility for allowing this business to cheat me. I should have walked away when told after coming in for my "free tire rotation", That I suddenly needed new brake pads and rotors as well as new shocks. Even though my car had given me no indication of wearing brakes or faulting shocks I went with their advice, as they stressed the importance of getting the job done asap to avoid further repairs and expense. I thought to myself... well, they are the professionals. Although, I did feel somewhat skeptical as the 2 managers, Ed and a woman (? Name) seemed to talk in circles as they dodged answering my questions directly. Again, I thought to myself, they are the professionals after all. After 8 hours I finally got my car back at 6:30 pm. After my daughter and I drove it that evening we both agreed that the brakes felt no different than they had prior to the repair.

And prior to the repair they gave me no indication of being worn down. Typically, when brake pads wear down to the point that the rotors need replacing you would hear at least a little squeaking from time to time when applying the breaks. I heard nothing and felt nothing. I had this gut twisting feeling that I was being taken advantage of as I paid the $944 bill... on their credit plan. By the way, they REALLY pushed the ntb credit plan. I wonder if they are getting commissions from those sales??? I felt only worse after talking to my Dad and brother that evening. I decided to go back to ntb the next morning at opening, 7:30, to ask for my old parts, the rotors and shocks. Mind you, the store was open only1 1/2 hrs after they finished my work the night before. Well, Ed said that he wasn't sure where the old parts were but he would look, then he asked me to wait a few minutes for the woman mgr to get there.

An hour later she walked in and went into Ed's office, where I clearly heard him tell her that so far he had found the shocks. A minute later she walked out and said that they had weeks of scrap metal laying around so they had it all picked up last night. There was an event coming and they needed to start cleaning.

Really?? Btw, she stumbled over her words as she spoke. Well, there goes my proof!! The only thing left to say is that I learned a very costly lesson. I will never step foot in the New Lenox, Il NTB again. Beware!! Looking back, I remember another instance, in 2014, when they claimed I needed additional work done... They found a nail in a tire (of course, not the tire I went in to have replaced). Next thing you know, I'm talked into 4 new tires. $1,200 spent in 2014. $944 spent in 2015.

On Aug. 1st, I discovered that my right rear tire had a nail in it so I went to the NTB store in Crestwood, IL to see about fixing it. I knew that I needed new tires and the serviceman there told me that, too. I am an elderly lady but I would never go forth with a major repair without first consulting my son as I have learned repair shops figure they can pull something on an old lady. My car is a 2009 Toyota Camry in like new condition. It only has 33,000 miles as I travel to Florida six months of the year and the car was kept in a heated garage during that time. I had to wait for an hour to hear the verdict since I was just a walk-in without an appointment.

After some time, the serviceman came to get me and had an estimate of $1,604.37 which was for 4 new tires and he also said I needed new struts all the around along with Steer lab (my son said that was a joke) as he said the struts were leaking and attempted to show me the underside of the car. I don't know anything about car repair but I complained to the guy that the car only had 33,000 miles on it. The total estimate from NTB was $1, 604.37! I have been buying Toyotas since 1979 and have never had any problems of this sort with them. In fact, one of my Toyota's had 100,000 miles and I sold it to a coworker who used it for work and it ran for another 50,000 miles without any major problems.

After I returned home I called my son who came over and took the car to a Firestone dealer. That dealer said there were no problems such as the NTB man described. I bought 4 new Bridgestone tires from Firestone with 75,000-mile warranty plus free lifetime tire rotation. My total bill from Firestone was $632. In addition, the Bridgestone tires are far superior to the generic tires NTB tried to sell me that had no such warranty. What was the extra $1,000 NTB tried to extort from me for? I will never go to any NTB outfit again. Also, women beware of being scammed by repair shops. They figure we don't know anything about cars.

You are much better off taking your car to a dealership for any repair outside of a basic tire repair. NTB is a bottom-tier company that charges the maximum labor rates in the industry. Technicians are minimally trained and store managers are not grease junkies which is a prideful mechanic in the automotive world. Even the 19.99 oil change specials are not done with basic rules regarding service. Trust me, this should be a last resort for repairs of any kind.

We returned about 7:40 and the manager, Jamar **, of this store on Two Notch Road near Columbia, SC was nice. We told him we would need to wait as this is our only auto. We were told the wait was about 1 1/2 hours. About 30 minutes later they told us the engine valve cover gasket needed replacing, all belts and front brake pads needed to be replaced. We approved the cost as our car is a 2004. They actually replaced three gaskets but ordered them individually with a wait time for delivery of an about an hour for each one.

After waiting a total of 8.5 hours at this store, repairs were complete and bill paid for $683.26. Manager, Jamar had test driven the car. Immediately after we left, the steering wheel was vibrating badly. Returned on Friday to complain and Jamar told us to return at 12:00 Sunday and we would be first in line but found out when we returned they opened at 9:00 and the place was full and Jamar was not working. Acting manager Steve test drove the car and had a mechanic look at the wheels. We were then informed the new front brake pads were stuck to the calipers and the calipers needed to be replaced at a cost of $487.50. We questioned why this was not discovered during the initial inspection and the work done on the front wheels. He did not satisfactorily answer. We told him to put the wheels back together and left very much unsatisfied!!! Will we return for repairs? Never!

I had a wheel alignment done on my car 05/27/2015. My engine light was on. I ask if they would check it for me. I was told I had two bad sensors. I was given an estimate of 273.66 to replace those sensors. I did not want to get an credit line increase and I didn't get the work done. Every time I take my car in, it's always something wrong.

I took my vehicle in for an oil change and tire rotation and was very disappointed with the service. Prior to taking my car in, I marked my tires and when I arrived home, I realized the tires were never rotated. However, I wish I would have looked at them prior to leaving the store. Now I am questioning if my oil or even the filter was changed. I will now have to take my car somewhere else to get the tires rotated and to see if they even changed the oil and filter. I am a female and not sure if that plays a factor in the service I rendered, but this is so frustrating and so disappointing!!

In October 2014 I bought 2 brand new tires. In November 2014 I bought the other 2 new tires. I paid for road hazard on all four tires for $45.00. July 2015 I noticed a knit on the side of my passenger front tire. I called NTB and they said it was covered and to bring it in. I did and they said the tire is defective and has a broken belt. These are 50,000 mile tires and I have driven approximately 30,000. They are wanting to charge me $106 for a new tire with warranty paying a whopping $27 for defective tire. What is the purpose of road hazard warranty? No one explained this when they were selling the warranty. This is a rip off and I will never buy anything from here again.

A summary of my issues with the Germantown, MD location of NTB: 1.) Oil change turned into a $600 repair and I have no proof that they didn't cause the problem to start with. 2.) The four to five hour estimate has turned into two days (maybe three). 3.) An additional charge of $30 because they found rusted bolts and felt those should be replaced. 4.) NO OFFER OF A DISCOUNT. They know this is my only car. 5.) My car is 4 years old and has 58,000 miles on it.

I brought my car in for an oil change on Friday. When I returned to pick up the car, a very excited mechanic told me they could not do the oil change because the plug in the oil pan was oversized, threaded and loose. They said I'd have to get the oil pan and gasket changed (estimate of $600). I called around and got estimates for the same repair from other places to check if the price was in line with the NTB estimate. It was.

The next morning, I was there at opening time. Delay #1: They told me to come back at 9 a.m. because they had to source the part. I returned at 9. They were able to get the part and they started the repair. They said they'd be done around 2 or 3 p.m. Delay #2: I called at 2, at 3, at 4, and at 5. Each time they said they still weren't done but they would call. Finally, at 6 p.m. after not hearing anything, I walked back up to the store.

Delay #3: The same mechanic who informed me of the initial problem told me I could not have my car. He explained that after they put everything together and "tested" something, they discovered the dealer did not send another part that was needed and should have been included. He told me they'd try to get the part the next day (Sunday) but they wouldn't know if they could get it till after 11 a.m. and there was a chance it could be Monday before they could finish the repair.

Later today, I will find out if they could get the part and finish. They know this is my only car and that I have to be at work Monday morning, no excuses. Why I am FURIOUS: The price goes up and up, they didn't check if they had all the parts before starting the repair, they did not call me as promised, and they have not offered any discount. I WANT MY CAR REPAIRED AND RETURNED TO ME!!!

I made an appointment for the NTB in Monroe (Order #: **) for 1:30 on 7/11/2015. I arrived at 1:05 with no employees out front and only upset customers telling me to leave because they had been waiting for ever. One employee came walking through and assured me someone would help me shortly, so I thought maybe they are just really busy and gave them the benefit of the doubt because I was early and the time for me to arrive was 1:30-2:30 even though I made the appt. for 1:30. At 1:35, I have been standing there for 20 minutes a man comes walking out to try to help the other customers.

Well, one computer was working and the credit card machine was not. On the other desk, the credit card machine was working and the computer was not. So the man standing in front me was asked could he come back later and pay because the system was down and the man agreed and the, I guess manager, asked for an email and phone number and they left.

Then he asks me how can help. I said I had an appt and he turned around to the computer that was looking and found my order. He asked for my keys and told me the vehicle would be done sometime this afternoon. I responded that I had an appt and would just wait for my vehicle because I was from out of town and had no way of going anywhere. He asked could I call for a ride. Again I explained I was from out of town. He then said that when making an appt online that does not guarantee that's when my car would be worked on. What? That is what appt are for.

I asked how long would it be before they would get to it and I would just come back. He said 45 min. I said so if I come back in 45 min then they would begin to work on it. He said, “well, come back in an hour and a half,” and still wanted me to try and find a ride then. Again I explained I have no way for someone to come pick me up. So I began to walk out and he said, “I am going to change your appt time to 3:00pm and then we will be ready.” I was thinking to myself I had a appt time for 1:30 and you wasn't ready. I still have the email with my original time and info.

So I left and drove just a 2 miles down the road to Discount Tire in Monroe. A salesman met me at the door. I could see through a glass window all the employees working on the vehicles, and I couldn't see anyone when I got to the NTB and waited with other customers for 20 min before I did.

I asked for the tires I was looking for and he said they had them and I asked him how long before they could get to my vehicle. He said they would have it done in less than 2 hours and they were packed with people.

Guess what? A place that I did not have an appt for had my vehicle complete and I was on the road passing the NTB at 3:00. The time I was suppose to return so NTB could work on my vehicle. I have never complained about a company before publicly. But I will about this. This is poor management. Also while I was at NTB someone called and the salesman answered the phone and couldn't even give direction on how to get to the store.

Catonsville did not have the tire. I was sent to the Owings Mills location to have the tire put on but needed to wait 2 hrs. Went to Owings Mills who was not aware I was coming. They checked the tires on my car and stated they could not put they tire on my truck because the tires did not match. The tires that were on my car were installed by NTB (I have receipts) at Catonsville. I was so frustrated and overwhelmed with unbelief a company would treat a customer this way. The manager wanted to offer me a deal to buy two tires. I said no. He then wanted me out of the store and threaten to call police. The police were called. The police and I talked. He talked to NTB mgr and came back to me and stated it's all about money.

I ask the officer to ask the mgr (Dave) to send the tire to Catonsville. He would not base on what the district mgr told him to do. I went back to Catonsville. Spoke with district mgr (Matt) by cell ph, who at first refused to replace the tire. Called to talk with (mgr) Lance at Catonsville (4 hrs later traveling in rush hour traffic). Matt approved to replace the tire. However I was instructed to come back the next day because Lance was leaving for the day after being there for 12 hrs. And Matt was going home. I was contact at 10 am the next day by Lance. My tire was there. I arrive within 15 mins. Lance was by and Tony chose to help customer that came in after me. All I can say is horrible, horrible, horrible Catonsville and Owings mills. The sad thing is I have two tires on my truck that may have to be serviced.

I had a flat on my car in 2014 and purchased two tires thru NTB. Everything went great. We had engine problems in early 2015 and decided to have the car towed for service. I was removing personal items from the car and trunk when I noticed we didn't have the donut. I called NTB and spoke to the manager about it and was told after he looked around the shop for it that NTB would replace it. So every two weeks I would call the manager and check on the status of the replacement.

In late April 2015 we learned that the manager wasn't there any longer and James would be taking care of us. Here it is July and no donut!! I was going to work today and I had a flat and no donut. When I spoke to James he told me he was looking for one but that he couldn't tell me when he would have it for me. I was very upset and told him how long are we going to have to wait... he didn't know. So I asked for his boss's name and number.

I was informed that as soon as we hang up he's calling his boss to tell him our conversation. I told him no problem - tell him. So I called his boss and got his voice message twice. After lunch Shawn called for David, James' boss. I was told that NTB was looking for a replacement donut but at the junkyard. They lead us to believe that they were getting it from the dealer and now Shawn tells me that as a customer service to us they would locate a donut for us but we would have to buy it. I told him that "if NTB had no intention of replacing this donut at their expense why would you look for that item for months?" By NTB spending the time looking for a replacement show me that they took responsibility for losing it. Shawn turned everything around and said No NTB didn't lose it and I'm trying to milk NTB for a donut. Really!!!

On 5/17/15 I was driving to work and my brakes went out, all the way to the floor and couldn't stop, had to use emergency brake. Since I had bought tires from NTB in Kirkwood, Mo and it was close to my residence I called AAA and had it towed there to have them check out the problem and tell me what was needed to fix this. The next day I got a call from a ** that said my car was ready to be picked up. So I had someone take me there to get it, paid close to $400 for new brake pads, rotors and labor. Then I was given the keys and attempted to drive off, pulling onto a very busy road in 5 pm traffic. As I pulled out onto Manchester Rd. into traffic I couldn't stop, my brakes went completely to the floor! I hit the emergency brake, got my car away from oncoming traffic and went back into the store and was very upset.

**, the Service Dept. Manager listened as I told him what happened, he remarked that's weird because three other techs test drove your car and said the brakes went all the way to the floor on them too...but they put the keys in my hand and let me drive off in a car that was not fixed. I could have gotten hit or hit some innocent person all because of their incompetence and faulty repairs. I tried for two and a half weeks to speak with the store manager, **. I left messages as he was never available to come to the phone and I went into the store in person to speak with him but he was either gone for the day or unavailable! So I went over his head to the District Manager. Meanwhile I am spending serious $$ to pay for a rental car because my car is not safe to drive. They refunded my money and thought that was the end of it, NOT!

So the DM had my car towed to another location to have "more experienced mechanics" check it out. When I went to pick it up I was handed my key but no invoice to show what was checked or what was done if anything. I asked for an invoice and was told that they couldn't print it out because their manager instructed them there wasn't one and just to give me the keys! So, on interstate 270 driving my car back home lo and behold the brakes failed not once but twice, thank god my boss was following me to make sure I got home safely. I've been exhausting all of my paycheck for a rental car that I am still driving over a month later. Today the DM and a mechanic came to my house to test drive my car, and they drove it around the block, came back and said there was nothing wrong that everything with the brakes were fine!

I am so angry at the incompetent service people that were allowed to work on my car and I was told by an employee at the Kirkwood location that defective parts and I improper installation was causing the problems. I am going to go to whoever that is over the DM and have them pay some or all of this rental car because it was their lack of skills and incompetence that put me in this position from day one. They still have not provided proper document ion and invoices for each time it was towed and detailed invoices of who checked the car out, what was done and why...do not ever take your car to NTB...there are no skilled mechanics or managers that know what they are doing and the attitude is horrible, the Kirkwood Manager and Kings Hwy Manager need a definite career change as they do not care about putting the customer and customer's safety first.

If I could give this establishment ZERO stars, I would, but that's not an option. This is not brain surgery; it's simple automotive repair, and not even ENGINE repair. It's a tire, for Pete's sake. I brought my RAV4 in because the tire pressure light was lit. When I measured the tire pressure, my PASSENGER'S SIDE tire was reading low (25 psi), so I figured there was a nail in the tire. I left the car there and received a call back that afternoon. I was informed that the tire pressure sensor (TPS) needed to be replaced, but the person on the phone could not tell me why it needed to be replaced (around $110) or how it was diagnosed. After several questions, he told me the valve stem was so corroded that the mechanic was afraid that when they removed it, it would break. I told them to hold off and I would pick up the car.

I made a few inquiries and decided to go ahead with the repair. When I picked up the car, the same guy (I guess he was the manager) again informed me that the old sensor/valve stem was "so corroded that they were afraid it would break off" when they tried to remove it. We asked to see the old one. It showed NO CORROSION. In fact, none of the valve stems on the car show any corrosion. When I questioned the manager, he basically had nothing to say. This is about par for the course. Rip the customer off and then just shrug your shoulders when you're called on it? Not the kind of business I want to work on my car. I thought that, at least, my car was now fixed. Well, that was a mistake. When I started the car, the low tire pressure light was still on. But wait! Part of the charge was for "reprogramming the sensors" which would have turned the light off. I went around and looked at the wheels.

The mechanics had changed THE WRONG VALVE AND SENSOR on THE WRONG TIRE!!! Evidently, when they moved the car out of the bay, the mechanic didn't bother to do the first SIMPLE quality test - making sure the light was out. I'm not a mechanic and I haven't even stayed in a Holiday Inn lately, but even I know that much. Light on = not fixed. Simple, right? I'm glad they're not surgeons; I may have come away with the wrong leg in a cast. Or worse. The "manager" (or whoever the guy was with his saggy pants around his upper thighs) was still behaving in an "I don't care" manner. No customer service skills at all. None. Not only have they lost a customer, they've gained a bad review that I will share with anyone who says they want to go there for auto care.

They are "fixing" the problem and I'll pick up my car today (two days after I first left it there.) I'm still not convinced that there wasn't just a nail in the CORRECT tire. I will be contacting my credit card company to ensure a full refund and then taking my car ANYWHERE else to make sure that it's really fixed. Basically, the problems in this store are many, but can be boiled down to this: An "I don't care" attitude toward the customer; Poor training of managers, customer service reps, and mechanics; Complete lack of quality assurance and quality control.

I hate to judge people by their appearance, but when you have a slob who doesn't care enough or have enough self respect to pull his pants up as the customer-facing element of your business, why would you expect that he would care enough about the customers to give them the good, reliable, and considerate service they are paying for? This entire store needs to be retrained, from the top down, but the question is, can you trust the trainer??? I won't be returning.

We thought, since the other 3 wheel bearings had been replaced, that was going to be the problem. WRONG. They said that the problem was the right front control arm was in need of replacement. Authorized the repair. After 2 and 1/2 hours the parts store sent the wrong part. We were told to wait for up to another 2 hours. Finally after 4 hours we were able to leave.

Now we get to the FUN part. We leave with our newly state inspected and repaired SUV. Instead of a nice quite ride, we hear click, clack, click, clack when moving the steering wheel. We go back the next day for an explanation and resolution. They put the SUV up on the hoist and immediately see that the wheel bearing boot in not covering the bearing assy. and that the problem now is the vehicle steering rack is bad. We authorized the repair. The state inspection ($25.00), control arm ($398.00), and steering rack ($658.00) all added up to a cost that we wanted to speak with the service manager. We were told he would not be there until Thursday, this being on Tuesday. Thursday as it worked out was the service manager's scheduled day off. He had apparently was at the garage on Tuesday but chose not to get involved in the discussion.

The short and long of the experience that started on Monday with a simple state Inspection and a little 'road noise' to go to Monday the start, to Tuesday for the return visit, to Thursday, to the following Monday to speak with the original service tech. and a final price of $875.00. We got the state inspection for the $25.00 but paid $850.00 with a car that now has a problem with the water pump that they can replace for another $481.00 and a noise that they are not able to do that has something to do with the transaxle (they were nice and recommended another garage). We went to the Ford dealership here in Manchester. They found that the front passenger wheel bearing needed to be replaced and a thermostat hose. Stay away from this NH-NTB.

The tires were out of stock on most tires at this store and stores in the area. I was told it would take a week to get tires from the warehouse. Wow, that's not good business. When mom and pop places can get them in a day. I have never walked in a tire store where there are no tires in the lobby, so you can look at them and examine them. This is not a good idea Mr. CEO. To look at a list of tires sizes and prices is a good way to cover stuff up. Just saying.

Next thing. Not having but only one tire in stock not willing to negotiate a price is just not a way to do business. You're forcing to pay premium prices. Then when told they would give me the tire for what I requested. Forced me into purchasing a road hazard policy with a jacked up price. Apparently as I can tell. Mr.CEO you have some major issues about customer service and customer care. You have made changes to NTB that are from a customer standpoint is totally unexceptionable.

You need to rethink your position on this company. Just saying... Oh, service with a smile goes a long way. I step into 3 different stores today. Not one person had a smile on their face. This tells me Mr.CEO you have no idea how to treat your employees. Just saying. Oh and not being able or know how to cross reference tires and sizes. I'm not too sure about. Seems to me a sales person should be or have the ability to determine another size tire would do ok. Since you can manage to keep 1 size of one brand barely in stock. Think I'm done. I drove around to the back and got out to go ask for my service, no other car was waiting, but I was greeted by a ** who told I had to drive back around to the front to ask for my service there. So, I did so. When I went in, who was the clerk I had to speak to? The same **... I understand policies but I do believe even at this point there was a better way to have handled this. But, ** asked me the make and model of my car, I told him a 2008 Chevy Impala SS.

He then told me my car took a special oil, a synthetic oil and that oil was not covered under this coupon. I explained to him I had owned the car since 2009 and had faithfully had to oil changed every 3,000-5,000 miles and no one had ever said anything about any "special oil." I told him I was going out of town, I wanted my oil changed and wished for him to honor the coupon. He said, "I am not going to change your oil" giving me no other option. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he said he was the supervisor. I said to him, "So there is no one here higher than you?" He then huffed and said "I will get you my manager". As he was rounding the corner, he let a very audible sigh and said, "This is ridiculous!!!" Soon the manager, ** comes out to wait on me.

I explained the situation and also expressed that I did not appreciate the treatment, the conduct and the rudeness of **. ** told me he would speak to him but went on to tell me my car required the synthetic oil and for that oil change it was, to my recollection $39.99. When I then expressed that I had never been told my car required this total synthetic oil, he told me I could take my car to 9-10 other places to get my oil changed. I was not too pleased with this comment and then told me if I wanted regular oil in it that I would have to sign a waiver in the event damage was done to the engine. He then added that the coupon I had would take the oil change down $10 to $29.99. I told him I would agree to the $29.99 price but when he did the change, I wanted listed on my paperwork the exact type of oil he put in my car so I could go check with the other place I had used to see what the difference was in this oil.

He expressed to me he did not like being accused of lying and again stated there were other places I could get my oil changed. I told him I was going out of town and needed the oil changed and to go ahead and change my oil. He then asked if I was going to wait on the car or drop it off and I replied I would be waiting. He then informed me they could not get to my car for 1 1/2 hours. I then asked for his supervisors name and I left. I have called the District Manager ** (at least) twice with no return call from 6:30 pm yesterday to now 3:30 pm Tuesday.

After I left NTB yesterday, I went to Tire Discounters who promptly changed my oil with a semi-synthetic oil that the regular price was $29.99 but they honored the $19.99 NTB coupon. Wow, what a difference in customer service!!! So, since I cannot get good service from your Mt. Juliet location and cannot get a return call from your District Manager **, I am wondering if I will get any response from this "Review?" I have considered placing this complaint on Facebook and other social media as well as inform as many of the Del Webb residents that I possibly can, but had been waiting to see if anyone from NTB would try to explain and/or make this experience right. I guess a couple of more days will tell the tale.

I need rear brakes for my 2011 VW Jetta. I knew this because earlier in the day I took it to VW to get the car inspected top to bottom. The price was a little steep so I called around and it seemed that NTB had the best price (which changed once we got there). They had the car two days. First they said they needed to order the parts (understandable), then they said they put them on but they didn't fit, after they told me to pick the car up (strange). Had to wait to order the right parts (frustrating), picked the car up and immediately leaving the lot, I heard a knocking sound. I thought okay, new brakes, drive it a little more. Still knocking, went back to NTB the next day, they said it is the front brakes. (upset) How could it be the front brakes?? Never heard the knocking before and again it was at VW and it was not mentioned at all.

So they asked me to bring the car back later when the manager was there. Did that, he said VW must have not test drove the car because it is the front. You clearly hear it knocking in the back!!! The mechanic when we were waiting the first day, said he never did brakes like this before (VW 2011) really? Why not own up to their mistake?? Never going there again.

Pretty damn suspicious that I wound up with a major leak when they changed the oil. HOW SUSPICIOUS??? It sat in their concrete parking lot AT LEAST half an hour and NOT A SINGLE DROP OF OIL on their parking lot and when I checked the oil the day before, the levels were GOOD but needed changed.

I WILL NEVER go back to that NTB again!!! I will be filing my complaint with the BBB and anyone else I can. Now??? My driveway is soaked with oil that I NEVER even had ONE DROP on until I took it to the Streetsboro NTB on SR 14 on Wednesday afternoon, April 8th, 2015. I don't know how foolish they think I am but that was BRAND NEW oil around my oil pan and ANY technician would've seen old, dark oil around that pan when draining the oil - NOT NEW OIL!!! I expect NTB to fix this problem at THEIR EXPENSE at my choice of dealerships!!! THIS IS TOTALLY unprofessional business practices on their part. I called to make an appointment for an oil change on Wednesday. I had a coupon for a $19.99 oil change and tire rotation. My car however requires dextrose 1 oil, I asked how much more that was going to be and was told $10.00 more. So I scheduled the appointment for Saturday. I brought the car in Saturday and my husband gave the coupon to the manager at the counter and he took the keys. These are supposed to be professionals. So when the manager wrote up the order he wrote it up for a conventional oil change which should have brought about questions from the technicians since the year make and model requires dextrose 1 oil. It did not. The car was brought out and I was charged $24.00. When I asked why so cheap, he said that is the price of a conventional oil change. I then stated it was not to be a conventional oil change - it had to be dextrose 1 oil which I had requested.

I was told that there was not room in the computer to put in "every customers request" and that he would have the oil drained. The manager went in the back, had the oil drained and changed to synthetic - STILL NOT THE RIGHT OIL, then charged me $67.00 for the oil change. When I asked why so much he said that it was $10 off with the coupon not $10.00 more and what would I like him to do about it. I could have gone to my dealership and had the service done cheaper, correct and without the snark attitude. I will never go back.

Staff was pleasant and helpful in identifying the issue. The car was up on the lift and I agreed to leave the car overnight for the repairs to be completed. I had forgotten that I left my business computer in the back seat and went back to the store around 7:45am the next morning to pick the computer up and it was missing from the car. I wanted to check and make sure I did not leave it elsewhere and after I validated I did not, I went back to car and checked the trunk to make sure it was not moved there.

The car's repairs was not completed until Wednesday the 18th and when I paid and picked the car up, I informed the manager that a police report would be completed indicating the theft and wanted to make sure that if any follow up would not come as a surprise. No concern for my situation was conveyed and I did not get any feeling of concern from the manager. I did complete a police report as required by my employer and wanted to inform you that I will not be a returning customer for any services needed in the future, even though I think I have one more wheel alignment on a purchase I made last year.

However, it was a slow day and it took over 3 hours to put them on plus an hour for them to analyze the leak. My story isn't as bad as some but their service was horrible. My advice just go to Discount.

This took place 2/22/14 and is still going on. I took my car into NTB to get my Coil Packs replaced. Once they did the work, the car's starting weird. I took the car back the next day and they told me the mechanic was off and to come back the next day so I did. The next day, I found out the mechanic was fired. Then for the next few weeks, as I kept coming back, the staff was fired and replaced. So they keep telling me I need work done because it'll fix the misfire issue coming from the Spark plug section of my car. So I get the work done.

Finally, after months of going there over and over, my friend from GM looks at the car and says whatever work they initially did was the cause of the misfire and that it's going to start making the catalytic converter to go bad. So I email the store customer service and their General Manager calls me and says I'm an idiot and a moron and I know nothing. So a month after that, the store finally changes out the coil packs and spark plugs to try and fix it. Still bad. I try for 3 more months and they finally tell me to take it to a certified GM dealer to get diagnostics done and bring the paperwork back and they will do an insurance claim. I do and did. They find they broke off the spark plug in the car and then when they replaced them, they put a spark plug on the broken piece which caused the catalytic converter to go bad.

So for a month, the store manager avoids me after saying he will put the claim in. Car engine catches on Fire a month after he says it will be handled. I get denied because "it wasn't the parts fault" and the manager lied and said he had no idea. They tell me it's my fault for not paying for more work done even though they said if I did, they wouldn't put a claim in and pay me back. So it went all the way to corporate and they told me they were going to stand behind the insurance company because the parts were good even though it was the labor. I've tried and tried and there's proof it's their fault and they even admitted it was and it happens all the time but still won't handle it.

My son just got a used car in excellent condition - low mile, one owner. Needed an oil change, came up on dashboard so I made an appointment with NTB in (Blacklick) on E Broad for an oil change. We took the car there, they started the oil change. While doing it, another guy would come out suggesting other things we politely declined. So we paid for the oil change and thought we were gonna leave but once in the car, the car wouldn't drive off normally. It kind of dragged as if the brakes were stuck, so I parked the car and told the guys inside, "hey we can barely drive". They said, "oh let me pull it back in". Then they said, "oh will have to take the brake system apart to see what's wrong and we promise we didn't do nothing".

I'm telling them my car drove in fine, l drove in here just fine, now I can barely drive off. So I told them to give me my car back, I'll drive down the street to another car shop 'cause I don't trust them. Now they're all trying to talk me out of it but I refused to let them touch our car again. So they went back into garage to give me my car. Took them about 25 minutes to bring my car back to front, so me and my son got in the car ready to go to another shop to see what happened to our car. And the car no longer had any problems, drove away with no stalling, rode just as smooth as it did when I first drove there. They fix it back real quick before another shop could expose their scam. They're a joke. I'd stay away from a company so desperate for money, they'll try and rip potentially good long time customers off...SMH.

NTB (Sachse Tx Location). I have been bringing my vehicle to NTB since my car came off the extended warranty by Ford (at 100,000 miles). In that time frame NTB (Sachse Tx Location) has been the only shop to maintenance my car until February 5th, 2015 (for a total of 7 consecutive oil changes and tire rotations), I always have my oil change done every 4,000 miles since it has high mileage and I drive to Fort Worth daily. On January 7, 2015 (Service Invoice **) I brought my car in for a oil change and I even scheduled it online to be done, just before my service was completed the young man up front approached me and said that my vehicle should be almost ready but they has a issue with it. He explained that my oil plug had been stripped out and that they were in the process of fixing the issue.

He then explained to me that they had to fix it using a Helicoil and sealant and that they had it on the rack checking to make sure that it was not leaking and it would hold. I asked how often does this happen and he responded that they have done this before. I then told him that I drive to Fort Worth every day and it better hold and he then said that the Helicoil should fix the problem and if I noticed any leaks to come back. I also asked why the Helicoil did not show on my receipt and he told me that they did not charge me for it so he did not put it on there.

On January 16, 2015 I was sent a survey to my email from NTB that wanted some feedback (ratings and comments) about my experience while at NTB. I noted the oil plug being stripped and fixed with a helicoil and also noted that they did not put that on my service receipt. I also made mention that my confidence in NTB service was in question at this point and if there were any further issues that I would be taking my business elsewhere. On February 2, 2015 I noticed some oil spots in my parking spot at work and then when I got home I noticed more spots on my driveway. I looked underneath my vehicle and noticed that oil was dripping down from my oil pan right from the oil plug and that is when I noticed it was even dripping off of the sealant (blue in color) they used on the helicoil.

On February 3 2015 I took my vehicle back up to NTB (Sachse Tx Location) for them to look at and fix the oil leak. The same young man was working up front when I told him the issue with my vehicle and handed him my service receipt from January 7, 2015. After that Luis ** came to the front and introduced himself, and which point I described what I was seeing beneath my vehicle. He then took my keys and pulled my vehicle into the service bay area. Later he came back to the front and wanted me to follow him into the service bay to show me vehicle while it was on the rack in the air. He asked me on the way if anyone else had changed or added oil to my vehicle and I promptly told him no. He attempted to point out to me that after his inspection of the oil pan he determined that the oil leak was coming from another area of the engine (timing chain cover).

I then pointed out to him that he had wiped off/down the oil pan and oil plug (which you could clearly see the sealant that was used) and he admitted that he did indeed wipe down the oil pan to see if the oil plug was leaking. He then showed me with a flash light the area he thought the leak was coming from. And he then showed me oil that was on the end of the oil pan bolts which could have been causing the leak as well. At that point I told him that I felt like they should not have used a helicoil to fix the oil pan but they should have replaced it and he responded that the helicoil did fix the stripped oil plug and it was not leaking.

I then told him that would take my vehicle to Ford and have them look at the vehicle and determine the problem and I would then have them fix the issue with the oil pan. He then told me he was fine with that if that is what I wanted to do. I then told him if Ford determines any damage caused by NTB that I would be back to speak to someone else about resolution. On February 5, 2015 I took my vehicle to Ford and immediately they told me that they could not even change the oil in my vehicle because the oil plug was not fixed to standard, and they then explained that by doing so they would expose themselves to liability not caused at their shop so it would need to be replaced to fix correctly and then they would be able to service my vehicle.

The correction would include replacing the oil pan gasket and replacing the oil pan completely (which should have been done by NTB since they stripped out my oil plug to start with) and they would also replace the oil as well for a cost of $957.15. Also Ford was required to keep my car for 5 days, so I also had to get a rental car which cost an additional $55.42. So that is a total of $1012.57 which I am wanting to file a claim with NTB in order to have that cost reimbursed back to me asap.

On February 11, 2015 I got a call back from Mike ** at NTB (Sachse Tx Location) and told him the above events that had taken place. He informed me that NTB does not use Helicoils to fix stripped out oil plugs but rather they recap them. I stopped him immediately and informed him that that is not what both his employees told me they used to fix the oil plug that his employees stripped out. He then told me to send him my receipts for the work that Ford performed and I have also included the rental car receipt as well.

On February 11, 2015 Mike ** who at first told me that after talking to his regional manager that NTB was offering $423 comp on my estimate from Ford. He then told me we would call me back once I explained that it was not a estimate, rather it was a bill that I paid for Ford to correct the substandard work that NTB performed on my vehicle to fix the oil plug that NTB stripped out to begin with and refused to replace it correctly because they said my oil leak was coming from elsewhere on the engine (timing chain cover). And that I was wanted to file a claim on NTB in order to collect the cost of damages they created to my vehicle from their fixing my oil plug incorrectly. He then called me back and said that the insurance company would need the part that was damaged by NTB or they would deny my claim.

Let me start by saying that both times I have been up there they have not once said that they did not do the damage, in fact Luis ** even admitted that they used a Helicoil to fix the stripped out pan. But today the Store Manager Mike ** says that they don't use Helicoils to fix stripped out oil plugs, they recap instead. Also no one ever explained to me that NTB required the part that they looked at twice in order to decide if they are going to reimburse me for the oil pan, because while I did bring my car up to NTB twice and supplied NTB with the invoice from Ford showing that the work was performed and corrected NTB needs further proof.

On February 19th I received a letter from Darlene ** who works at Sedgwick CMS that they are declining my claim against NTB for Repayment of damages because the oil pan I replaced needs to be inspected to determine the actual cause of the loss. I don't care what findings that Sedgwick has or does not have, until NTB can produce the original stripped out oil plug that was removed from the oil pan on my vehicle, then why should I produce the oil pan that needed to be replaced from the Helicoil that they installed in order to quick fix my oil pan so it would not leak? My paid invoices for work performed not even a month after the helicoil install should at least have someone asking questions about how the oil pan was fixed while at NTB. From day one, I have been mislead so to the fact that NTB was covering up its quick fix to my vehicle.

Louis ** treated me rudely and in my opinion should not be a manager of any kind, Mike ** either lied to me on the phone or does not know how to do his job correctly, and the regional manager did lie to me stating that me had not talked to Mike **, when in fact he did because Mike ** stated he did to me twice. All three should be fired from their positions at NTB, as not one of them ever denied that the helicoil was installed on my vehicle and until someone can tell me that fix was the correct and proper fix, also I talked to Ford today and they tell me that NO ONE has called them to ask for their input or much less what they saw as damage done to my vehicle, so Sedgwick has not done any discovery or due diligence on this issue either, but they denied my claim.

No GM, Zone Manager Phone number (Rem). Said he can only talk to Mr. **. Mr. ** gave me the right to talk on his behalf due to waste of time with this company.

6/9/2014 Both front tires were replaced and both went flat on 66 the very next morning (maybe 10 hours after they were installed). I was extremely appreciative that the staff had stayed late to install the tires, but obviously something was done incorrectly. This could have turned into a potentially deadly situation but luckily it did not. I will say, they were pretty good about paying for the tow back and replacing the tires (again) without hassle.

10/24/2014 I was a loyal fan of NTB way back when it was called NTW. Back then they had a new approach where they gave you excellent service and even allowed you to watch every step they took to repair or replace parts on your car. The new NTB and this specific store 619-- They regularly make recommendations that are in their best interest instead of mine including ALWAYS recommending very expensive rotors for my car even though I may have just bought them and only need pads.

In the past they claimed to have "found major" problems. Now I did arrive around 7 pm so I expected to be way behind the line of folks I thought I would see in a store that was supposed to close at 9 pm. NOPE! The store was very empty; no cars in front parking spaces; no customers in the waiting room; no cars in bays; no mechanics in the bay area. Nope... just one very friendly woman at the counter who seemed surprised to see me 2 hours before they are supposed to close. I then verified with her that her store did close at 9 pm right???? She said yes but repeated that her mechanics were gone. She said I could only get an appointment at 5:30 pm.

The next day I thought I would call in to make sure this was a policy. YEP... I talked to another guy on the phone who said the same thing claiming it was "A CORPORATE" problem. He went further to say that NTB was the only outfit in town that "forced" people to work that late. I was like "aaaaaaaah, YEAH **!" That's what I would call a competitive advantage. I told him that I did understand his pain regarding staying open late if there are regularly no customers making appointments during this time, but that he and his corporation needed to adjust their posted store hours if so. I went further to say that his discomfort with how other outfits run their operation does not give him the right to arbitrarily

7/23/2014 1 check-in. Called them to get some pricing, was put on hold then when they got back on the phone, they asked for my number to call me back and they never called me! Went in for a buy 3 get one free promotion as advertised on their website. The person that helped me quoted me $300 more than online. When asked why he said that I MUST buy a 1 year alignment plan, I MUST buy road hazard and a MUST buy lifetime rotations. I told him that I could buy it online and schedule an appointment without those options. He said go ahead and schedule it for a later date but if I want it now I need those items. I left and went to Costco and purchased 4 tires.

0/14/2014 Prices are high, their wait times are higher. A few months ago I had gotten a new set of tires from this establishment. Only after calling to confirm online prices. This did not go smooth. The employee had said the online sale the company offered was not true, and they would not honor it. After speaking to a supervisor it came out that the employee was misinformed.

I decided to shrug it off and go to the store. Where again the same employee gave me issues. Once more after the manager corrected the other guy my truck was in the stand for some time. After the lengthy install I was informed they thought my brakes needed to be replaced immediately and that they were worn and unsafe to ride... Funny thing is the weekend before I had put full sets of brakes on my vehicle...

I took it to another mechanic and they told me that the rotors in my car were very bad so I need to replace them. So then I realized that NTB had either changed my rotors or messed them up. I never ever will go back to NTB again for anything. No more business with them.

I had a 19.99 coupon from Kroger supermarket for a tire rotation and oil change at NTB. No sooner did they get my Toyota on the lift - they had a bolt to the oil pan spinning freely. They showed me. What the hell do I know? I am a 48 year old woman with no clue as to the inner workings of my car. My hubby didn't want me to go there (he was at work) as he says those coupon things always make them find something for more money.

The estimate for new engine oil pan, gasket set, and 2541 R&R Eng Vin and labor would be 491.60! My hubby was right all along. I had (before seeing estimate) agreed to do what it took to make it right. My husband flipped when I called him! Again- even before I knew the price. I then told them to just change the oil so I could get it out of there. It took over an hour (with appointment) and some guy came in to buy batteries and they ignored me. My service papers and keys were on the counter. I then said to one of the workers if I could "get the hell out of here some time today." I went on to tell him about the sneaky work practice and he said not to give him attitude. I told him I wouldn't be back and he said not to come back and to keep it to myself. I will shout it from the rooftops about the scam and I look forward to the going-out-of-business sale.

I had an appointment to get an oil change and 4 tires. The sign states that the price for a premium synthetic oil change is $69.00. However I was charged $98 and was not told why when I questioned the charge. I waited for almost two hours before I was told that the tires that was suggested for me was not in stock and that because of the wait, I would be given a better tire at the same cost of your 'buy three get one free' deal. However that did not happen. I left the car - because the tires needed to be ordered - I picked the car up the next morning. The original tires was put on the car, not the upgrade as promised and I was not told that the upgrade was not honored. This was disrespectful and unprofessional. I don't know that I will return to your company for future business. I of course have no proof that I was told about the upgrade, this was done over the phone.

I bought 4 tires and a front end alignment deal that allowed 3 alignments over a period of time. The tires came with free balancing and rotation for the life of the tires. After 1 year I went back to NTB for this service. After the service was done driving home, my truck was shaking violently. I called NTB right back and waited 15 minutes on hold. I told the person who I was and her reply was "yes I remember you." She said to bring my truck back the next day which I did. They rebalanced my tires and told me that I needed ball joints.

Anybody that knows anything about cars knows that you cannot do a front end alignment with bad ball joints which they did the day before. My wife's ford edge needed rear shocks to replace them. They said that the rear seat had to be removed at a cost of 110 dollars just to remove the seat. I did not have the work done. Went to my local mechanic. He replaced the shocks in less than 1 hour and never removed the rear seat. The shock mounts are not even close to the rear seat.

We purchased a 3 year alignment package from NTB in 11/2014 - what a mistake. I took my car back in 01/2015 from them to check the alignment and was given the run around, they didn’t want to do the alignment because I didn't replace my shocks. They are going by my mileage that the shocks need to be changed. When I purchased this package I was not told there were any stipulations in this package. I was actually told I could come every day to get an alignment if I wanted.

After I told them my piece of mind, they decided to go ahead and check the alignment. They came back and said the alignment could not be done because my front right toe was bent and gave me a $900 estimate to get repaired. I didn't fall for that crap. I got my car and took it to another mechanic, explained to him the issue and he checked the car out free of charge. He looked at the graph that NTB gave me on the alignment and just laughed. He said they are either idiots or don't know how to do alignments, explained to me how alignments are done.

Needless to say the toe was not bent. It pisses me off they tried to get me to spend $900 on something that was not broken. This at the NTB off Grapevine Mills Blvd, Grapevine, TX. I have always taken our cars to NTB in the past but you just lost a customer.

When I was back at 6:30 PM, they couldn't figure out the problem and asked me to visit some other company. While working on this, they left a cable unconnected because of which car would face hickups after exceeding a speed of 20 (the engine would stop, start randomly). I nearly ended up evading an accident. If I would have hit the highway, I could have met with an accident. I somehow managed to go back to their workshop and he connected the cable back for me and gifted me a complimentary wiper to shun my anger.

I asked the service person if everything was alright and if the alignment was done right. She said yes and charged me the $99 which they usually do. Recently I had a tire problem in the same car so I had to rotate and buy new tires from Discount tire company (another bad experience). Discount tire mechanic told me that one of the tires had a wear on the inside because of misalignment.

Since I had a six month warranty on my alignment that I got done I took the car to NTB. They looked at the car and told me that the Tie Rods were frozen so they would not able to do the alignment. I was surprised because I was getting alignment done very frequently and there was no reason for the tie rods to freeze if every time the alignment was done the tie rods had been lubricated. So I took the car to my mechanic and asked him to look at it. He was able to loosen the tie rods by applying some WD40 and using a wrench. Obviously NTB did not want to honor their warranty and fix the alignment. Very SAD state of affairs.

In my recent customer experience at National Tire and Battery (NTB) in Vernon Hills, Illinois, I was defrauded. My time was wasted talking to the Store Manager. On February 19, 2014 I brought my vehicle to NTB to assess the reasons it was undrivable and repair it if possible. I had it towed to the facility after having it okayed by the manager on the telephone. The mechanics discovered a broken sub frame part and right CV joint that needed repairs. The estimated price given to me was much higher than I expected and I expressed my concerns to the Assistant Manager Jesse **. I asked him about different ways to reduce the cost. I asked him about the $900.00 sub frame part and if it could be found used and put on. He told me they checked where they normally get parts and it could not be found. I asked whether I could get the part and have them install it. He said no.

I made it very clear that this part was expensive for me to buy and I was seeking any way to lower its cost. He lowered the cost on a second estimate to $825.00. I still asked him to call the Store Manager or regional manager to see if the cost could be reduced on any parts of the bill. He refused. At no time did he inform me that I could purchase the sub frame part at a much lower cost direct from the dealer or that they were marking it up tremendously.

We also spoke about the need for bushings to be replaced also as they were encountered. I told him that I did not want to save money on bushings. That if they were needed they should be replaced. He agreed and said safety was important to him. I agreed to have the work done and they began. It took most of the day and I was there or out to lunch nearby and returned. They completed the work and I paid in full. At the time of payment I was informed that the bushings for the sub frame had not been replaced because they could not get them right away. I was not pleased with this and I said that it was not good that I would end up paying labor twice for that when it should have been done. Mr. ** agreed that I could come in at another time to have the bushings done without a labor charge and printed out a separate estimate for me. So it is obvious they believed the bushings should be done. Everyone there was at all times courteous and helpful.

Subsequently I had a conversation with a Service Manager at the Suzuki Dealership and he was amazed that I paid $825.00 with an initial quote of $900.00 for the sub frame part when he knew it to be sold from them at retail for around $300.00. 1st call: On 3-21-14 Friday at 2:30 PM Central time, I called the NTB Store Manager Mr. Robert ** because on the form you use it says If you have a question or concern please speak to our store manager, Robert ** at (847) 918-9940. I started to tell him the basics of why I called but he cut me off saying he was caught off-guard and wanted to look at the file before continuing to speak to me. I said I could call back on Monday.

2nd call: On 3-24-14 Monday at 11:30 AM Central time, I spoke to Mr. **. I informed him about the sub frame and how I felt it was dishonest to overcharge me by that much and about the bushings. He told me twice that he was 100% sure that the sub frame cost them more than $300.00. He asked me to get him a part number and description from the dealer so he could compare it to the part number he ordered. He said he wanted to see the car to look at it also and wanted to resolve this quickly as he was leaving soon on April 1st. I asked when he would be back and he said he did not know. I thought this was odd that he had somewhere to go but returning was unknown.

3rd call: On 3-25-14 Tuesday at 3:30 PM Central time, I spoke to Mr. ** again. I told him I confirmed the price at the dealer and gave him the part number. He again said it couldn't be and he was sure they paid more. He then asked to look at his receipt for the part and to call me back. I said "Why don't you look now while I was on the phone?" He said he does not keep February receipts lying around. Funny since we were discussing this problem and he claimed to have looked at my file after I first called. He said he would call back tomorrow.

3-26-14 Wednesday no return call from **. 4th call: On 3-27-14 Thursday at 2:30 PM Central time, I called again. I was put on hold when I asked for ** and then told it was his day off. 5th call: On 3-28-14 Friday at 9:55 AM Central time, I spoke to Mr. ** again. He said I would have to refresh his memory about the problem after I identified myself and the car. I asked him if he looked at the part numbers I gave him. Instead of answering my question he said that the shop was under a lot of pressure that day to get me out of there so I could expect to pay more for convenience. Apparently the refreshing worked well. He was talking without allowing me to enter the conversation.

He said he was not there that day but he could offer some discount in the future but he would not give me a refund. I had never asked for a refund. Without pausing he said he would switch me back to Jesse so I could talk it over as he (Mr. **) was there that day. I tried to say that No, I would not talk again to Jesse but he did not wait for any reply from me but just put me on hold. I hung up.

The cost of the part was confirmed by a Suzuki Dealer as: $254.44 for the sub frame piece. $5.20 for 4 long bolts. $2.76 for 2 short bolts. $280.76 Total without taxes. It was unconscionable to overcharge me for this part by that much. It was dishonest to not inform me of the savings if I did the repair at the dealer when I explained my desire to reduce the bill. It was wrong not to tell me the bushings were not changed because they could not get them in time. It was pathetic that the manager first tried saying that there was not an overcharge and then change his story to a time pressure situation that compelled them to rip me off. At no time did I say to any worker or employee of NTB that I was in a rush or they should get it done by a certain time. That was a lie.

I imagine you consider your time valuable. I consider my time valuable. So you probably have guessed that at this stage a simple refund of the morally wrong overcharge, as Mr. ** suggested is now out of the question. Like most people I don't like to be the victim of fraud or dishonesty or morally reprehensible behavior. My time and resources have been wasted by your company.

However I am still willing to put in just a bit more time to help protect other consumers from bad people even if it does not help me. As I was writing this letter I could not help but think how the Internet has enabled the average consumer now the power to get out their message. And I could not help laughing at the way some bloggers or tweets or consumer backlashes got started and eventually resulted in market losses for the corporation, all because some company was misinformed about the power the new age of publicity has on the World Wide Web. I look forward to your reply. Or not. I know your time is valuable too.

Postscript: 3 months after I filed a BBB complaint they offered me $200.00 in credit toward additional services but no refund. Evidently they forgot I paid in cash - store credits. They also lied to the BBB saying this offer was told to me by the Store Manager Robert **.

Went to have tires mounted and decided to get inspection while I was there. Normally go to dealer for inspection, where I bought my car from. First off I had an appointment for 9:00 in the morning, but did not get serviced until around 11:30. After checking over my vehicle they told me I needed brakes all around and rotors on the back replaced at a cost of near $800.00. I told them to forget about the inspection and just mount the tires, they still charged me for inspection of course, pass or fail I was told. As you might of guessed, went to dealer for inspection and passed with no work needed to pass inspection. What a scam NTB has going on. Do yourself a favor, never go to NTB.

They screwed up my TPMS sensor on my VW Jetta. They recommend to have the valve stems replaced on TPMS sensors while getting tires changed so I had them do this while getting 2 tires replaced. After picking up my car I noticed the dreaded blinking tire light lit up on my dash. After pointing out the problem to them, they ensured me it would disappear after driving 30 miles, since it had to reset itself. After many trips back and forth and trying various other methods they finally used a tool they to scan the frequencies on the sensors in each tire to find the unresponsive one. They found the non-responding sensor in the tire they had replaced.

The manager tried telling me since my car was 4 years old that it was more likely the battery died and it was on me to replace it. That sure is a hell of a coincidence to happen at exactly the same time they changed it - I told them. After some arguing back and forth they agreed to take the tire back off to inspect the sensor. If it was something they caused in service they would agree to fix it at their cost. But if it was the battery like they had assumed, it would still be at my discretion to fix. I thought that was more than fair.

After they inspected it they found the connection from the valve stem into the sensor was cracked (see pic) and lost its connection and claimed there was no way they could have done this and refused to replace it. They absolutely broke it! The connection is very sensitive and is very easy to snap the connector while replacing the valve stem. I don't see how they could say they didn't?

Thanks to NTB I now have had a blinking light on my dash for years and have to pay the dealership hundreds of dollars if I want it fixed. My advice if you're wondering about having your TPMS sensors rebuilt. I would not have this place do it. They will not own up to any damage they cause. I've had Pep Boys replace tires and they can at least do a better job than this place can. This is my first time as a customer to NTB and will unfortunately be my last.

Invoice says coolant fluid exchange $94.99 but then an additional labor charge for $47.23. Doesn't the $94.99 represent the labor costs??? They really stuck it to me on transmission work! Charges for 2.2 oil pan gasket cost $220!!!! Transmission fluid cost $39.99????

I told him if there was that big leak I would've seen it in my driveway. I told him I'd take it to my regular mechanic to have him look at it. Lo and behold there's no major leak. $25 later I have an oil change! Our mechanic said there was no major oil leak. The image is of my driveway where my van is parked daily. Just bought four (4) new tires from National Tire & Battery, on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from: NTB Store #520 5655 MANCHESTER ROAD BALLWIN, MO 63011-2241. On Saturday July 26, 2014 I had to return to NTB because I noticed one tire was very low. I arrive at the store, (no customers in the store waiting) and apprised of my problem. I was told that it will be 2 hrs before they could get to me, so I gave them my keys and waited.

After waiting approximately ten minutes, a woman comes in and surprisingly tells them the exact same thing (her tires are loosing pressure). She did not state that she just bought tires (I got the impression she did not but was simply out and about running errands, noticed the problem, was passing a NTB and decided to stop for a check). NTB tells this woman to get in her car and drive into the garage area (which she does). I inquired as to why she was taken immediately and I was told to wait two hours and was given several unreasonable excuses including "that I didn't hear the conversation they had with the woman" (I was right there-he was not. He came out of the shop area when she came in so how would he know?). I explained as much that he was the one not in the position to know the conversation & I heard everything.

Things started getting heated, I asked for the manager. The manager comes out, I explained my discontent (I am told 2hrs, she has the same issue and was immediately taken in). After speaking with the manager, my car was taken inside of the shop. Once the tire was taken off, it became clear to the mechanics that the rim was cracked and this was something that should have been caught when the tires were first put on. I then instructed them to take the new tire and fit it onto the spare rim, and take the cracked rim and the spare tire and place them both in the back of my car. Instead of doing this, the spare tire was put on and NEW tire (still on the cracked rim), was placed in the back of my car.

When questioned as to why my instructions weren't followed, I was told that it would cost $80 to do this simple task. Having had enough of the disrespectful and blatant disregard for customer service, I took my keys and told the manager that I would be contacting the corporate office about this entire ordeal that could have been prevented with a "Customer First Approach", and at the very least an honest staff.

As a side note, while I was inside of the store, four other customers came inside stating that their tires were loosing pressure as well after having their tires replaced by the same staff recently. In the process of helping them it became clear that they also had cracked rim's that went unnoticed by the staff in the process of putting on their new tires. This raises serious concerns about the quality of service that is taking place at this location.

Don't go here. NTB store #688 won me over as a customer when they cross-threaded the oil drain plug on my car- if it came out, I wanted there to be no question as to who had last changed the oil. I've been going in for the $19.99 oil change special for a few years since then. Went in today, and they *refused to use a non-synthetic oil* in my car (only $39.99!), because their vendor (Valvoline) posted that they do not recommend a non-synthetic oil in the car. The salesman also claimed that GM had made that statement. Since I had the owner's manual in the car, I pulled it out, and pointed to the recommended oil- nothing about synthetic. The salesman assured me that the manual was wrong, and went on to tell me that the engine monitoring system was not computing oil life correctly, as he knew how they worked (!). But, the upshot of all of this, is they *refused* to use the oil they'd been using for the past four years ($19.99). Can you say "bait and switch"? I'll have the drain plug repaired elsewhere. I guess management figured out they weren't making a profit on the "advertised special", so simply won't honor it, but continue to offer it to lure people in.

It saddens me on several issues so I want to make it very clear of the issues and the only solution that will settle this matter. First, I have trusted your Facility as well as 2 others of your facilities to work on all of our vehicles. I have recommended at least five people, not counting 2 Family members to your facility specifically. I assumed I was a valued customer until Monday evening. What transpired on July 4th and the subsequent days leading up to this is beyond upsetting.

I brought my Brand new (17 Miles on it, I received it with 10 miles on it and I live about seven miles away) Toyota Tacoma Pick Up to your facility to have the raised white letters turned inward as they are not my preferred look. I spoke with Scott and he was very helpful. I made one request - "Please Do Not Scratch My Truck." He laughed but said, "I totally understand." He went as far as to put under special comments 'Please do not scratch Brand New Truck.'

I left your facility at around 4:00 PM and went directly to the Chevron Gas Station to fill the gas tank, so I could rush home and thoroughly clean my truck. While I was putting the gas in my truck, I looked down at the tires and wheel, just by chance and noticed a long mark on my rim. Come to find out it was a scrape on the rim. I immediately viewed the other rims and noticed significant scratches or marks on every rim. At this point I phoned your facility back and Scott answered per our brief conversation, he was in awe. I told him I will bring it right back. The other gentleman who was there knew the story, came outside to look at my rims and after verifying all the marks and scratches, said, "No problem, we will have them resurfaced."

At this point I immediately spoke up and said, "Resurfacing is not an option. This is a Brand new truck. I had not even driven it but to your facility." He said the manager will have to review this, that it all was just a rookie mistake. He said the manager, Joe, would be in Sunday morning. I told him I would call back. He stated, "I will have him try and call you also." I worked on Sunday so I called as soon as I was able. Scott said he was no longer there, he had a family emergency. I said, "Please have him call me, but I will try and call him also." He said okay.

Sometime Monday mid-to late morning, I had not heard from anyone and I called. Joe got on the phone and, "Oh yea, I had heard something, but I need you to bring me your truck." We made arrangements around 4:30-5:00 PM to meet. Because of my work and the rain that came in briefly, I called him and told him it would have to be closer to 6:00 PM. I arrived about 10 minutes of 6 and went in to speak with him. He basically treated me like a leper, did not shake my hand or even say hello. He went out to my Truck and immediately said, "Yea we can resurface these." He said, "To be honest, we scratch every rim a little." I said, "Joe, don't patronize me, as picky as I am, how come you have never scratched the Rims on my Wife's Honda or my 2006 Toyota Tacoma?" He just shrugged his Shoulders. I told him It is so blatantly obvious he used the wrong machinery and/or he absolutely did not know what he was doing. Joe at that point had no comeback.

I then explained it to him he must be joking about the resurfacing and I stated, "This is a brand New truck. It had 17 miles on it when you pulled it in your shop. Resurfacing these wheels is not an option." He stated, "We will see what Toyota says".... (Let me be clear on this, I do not give a ** what Toyota says, it is not their Truck). What kind of idiotic statement was that. I also notated at that time the TPS light has been on also. "That is all I can do, I will take it to my manager and see what he says. I'll give you a call tomorrow."

I immediately got on the phone and registered my complaint with your customer service. They said someone would call me within 48 hours. Tuesday 7/8/2014, no call from anyone. Wednesday 6:09 PM, no call from anyone. I just happened to look at my emails and see an email from Joe. To be very clear; there is no way they did not know that they scratched my wheels, yet nobody was honest about it (that is society I guess). Not one person has apologized to me - very, very sad. On top of all that I'm being treated like the bad guy... Wow, again very, very sad.

I need it to be made clear concerning the replacement of my wheels, with what was on my truck when I came in. To make it perfectly clear, nothing will be satisfactory but brand New Factory Matching Rims (no knock offs). With original equipment Tire Valves and TPS sensors. Just to let you know a little history about me. I worked as an ASE certified Mechanic for Midas Muffler for over Fourteen years and never damaged a rim, because I always used the correct tools. If a vehicle was damaged in our shop, it was fixed to the customers satisfaction, not what benefits the facilities bottom line.

I now work for a Funeral Home and Cemetery and have for 18 years. I wonder if we scratched or dented one of our family's loved one's casket as we were lowering it. I wonder how the family would handle us treating them like this and just tell, "We'll knock that dent out and use some touch up paint, okay with you." I promise you it has happened and the Family was not near as calm as I am trying to be. If I have not made myself clear, this truck is one of my loved ones, ask anybody who knows me. Hopefully that clarifies my side.

I said my car was slow to switching gears and they instantly told me to leave and go to another store and get a new transmission which would have cost hundreds of dollars. Now when I break, my car makes noises I have never heard. I have problems with the car I did not have before and I will most definitely not take my car back there to be reexamined. I cannot prove that any employees purposely damaged my car so that I would return and spend more money. I do not understand why I must provide my personal information such as my address to give a review. I highly highly recommend people not to go to this NTB or any others. I purchased four Michelin tires about three years ago and during that time put a little less than 30,000 miles on them. I drive very conservatively. A few months ago, a body shop friend called attention to circular breakages --warpage?-- on all four tires. Like most drivers, I was intent on the trend which was quite good as I'd had them balanced regularly. I took the car back to NTB 2899 Bogey Rd.St. Charles, Mo. and talked with the store mgr., **. After parrying some questions which suggested, I might be remiss somehow, I finally was able to get ** to accept a sixty-forty exchange. I would get equivalent value tires and pay $275.00 to have them installed. I live sixty miles from the store, so when I showed up the following week and was refused service because I didn't have an appointment, you may imagine my sentiment. I returned subsequently at the agreed upon time - actually an hour earlier - and was told we could start immediately.

During the course of our two hour interaction, we were interrupted numerous times. It was obvious the place was understaffed. One phone complainant could be heard screaming that he wanted his key back and described where it was located. This went on and on without respite. Fifty mins. at least. ** then spends another half hour sorting out "computer issues" with his one assistant, then finally confirms that I will not need to pay more than $275.00, give or take $5.00. Good. At least we're getting somewhere.

After another stretch with the computer, he returned with some bad news. The $275.00 had somehow escalated to $355.00 despite his promise given to me a half hour prior. It was like something out of Fargo.. I told him, when a man gives me his word then tries to circumvent his promise, I am left with the thought that he believes me a fool. I blew up. I then insisted on him returning my car and we could settle it in small claims court. He played with his computer twenty mins. or so then acquiesced.

Most instructive of all is that throughout this abortion, no one ever apologized for putting me through all this. Mr. ** thinks he is through with me. Mr. ** is once again wrong. His black assistant was present for the promise and the denial. ** eventually acquiesced when I told him to return the car to me and we can settle in small-claims court. 1 year = $125
    3 year = $175

    5 year = $224

Today (5/5/2014), I took my brand new 2014 Ford C-MAX in for an alignment and to purchase a 3-year program. I was shocked when my bill totaled $197.99! It seems that the price of the 3 year program was now -- five days later -- $179.99. Plus, a "shop fee" of $18 was added to my bill. This 10% surcharge is outrageous, especially for a 3-year service contract that doesn't use any shop materials. I would have cancelled the entire deal, but my car had already been aligned, which would have cost me over $90 for a single alignment -- plus, of course, NTB's 10% "shop fee." This kind of nonsense should be illegal!

One final point. When the alignment technician (who had literally been crawling around on the shop floor and who's hands were filthy) was finished, he hopped right into my new car, with its leather interior, and drove it around front for pick-up.

I made an appointment at the NTB in Bel Air, Maryland for my 98 Dodge Durango and I had a coupon for an oil change for $19.99. When I showed up for my oil change and showed the guy at the service desk my coupon he responded with "Oh, another one of these" with a sarcastic and rude tone. I gave him my phone number and told him to call me when it was done. He called me after about an hour and said that the technician told him my vehicle had a major oil leak and that they couldn't do the oil change because of liability and that I needed to take the vehicle to a mechanic and have the undercarriage power washed to find out where the leak was. I was very alarmed and concerned for this so I took my vehicle to a mechanic right away and after 5 minutes he could tell where the leak was just by opening the hood.

He could tell by observing the valve cover gasket because it was obvious the leak was coming from there because you could see it around the gasket. A very simple fix, it took him about 20 minutes and he explained that anyone that calls themselves a technician should have noticed it right away. I believe that I was turned away because they used prejudice towards me and were upset because it was towards the end of the day and I was using a coupon. Very unprofessional and after using this store and recommending them to others, I will never go there again and will let my friends know of the poor knowledge and professionalism of the staff at this location.

Just had the straw that broke the camel's back. I have bought 10 or 12 subs of BF Goodrich 80's radio at nearly a thousand from this company over the years. Picked up a bolt in a tire today. I'm pulling a 14 foot cargo trailer. They told me they cannot work on my vehicle and I cannot take my trailer off in their parking lot and want to know if I wanted to leave it with them. This comes after the last time I was in. Had a problem with the tire going down. They told me they couldn't repair it but they would adjust it and give me a new one. They had no knowledge of what the new cost was on the tire and I never heard back from them. This also after many times buying their 3 year alignment program, have been in and had crap alignments and half the time they say they can't lift my vehicle with their lift. This company should not be in business and I will applaud the day they go under.

I entered the store looking to redeem a coupon for tire rotation and oil change. I was told that it was done by appointment only. They took all pertinent information and scheduled an appointment for 2 hours later. I came back in two hours, the store was woefully understaffed as it took 15 minutes just to have someone come to the counter to help me. After taking more information, they went out to the car took more details about tires, VIN, mileage and so on... another 10 minutes. Then they looked up the offer on their system and told me that they were out of stock on the oil for my car. YES, they had no oil for my car. Really?? A 2007 Camry needs some kind of special oil. I took my keys quietly and walked out.

When I arrived at home they were on the phone telling me they found the oil filter (originally it was a missing oil) and to come back and they would change oil for $24.99 and give me free tire rotation. Keep in mind that the original offer was for an oil change and tire rotation for $19.99. I had a similar experience several months earlier when I came in to buy a battery. Again after some lengthy data collection (by the way I have been to this store and purchased items before) they told me they did not have a battery in stock for my vehicle. Hence, I have asked them to kindly remove me from their records as I do not plan to return to an NTB store. This store is located in Matteson, Illinois.

The brakes were needed in the back. I declined. I was then told that when the mechanic went to take my tire off the wheel stud and lug nut broke. I told him that I had a car inspection two weeks ago and the tires had been taking off and I didn't understand how it could have been broken. He told me that they had to have put the tire back on too tight. I didn't believe him at all and told him I would go down the street and buy a stud and lug nut down the street. I was told I couldn't leave without them putting it back on.

I was told it was going to cost $44.00 for the labor and $9.47 for the parts. I was livid. They break my stud and lug nut and have the nerve to charge me. Then I asked for both the lug nut and wheel stud and they only gave me the lug nut. I was also charged $5.35 for them to get rid of the parts they broke despite the fact I asked for. I believe this company rips people off and gets away with it. I can't believe they have the nerve to break something and then charge the customer to repair it.

I tried to make an appointment and choose 4 tires using their website. The tires I selected were no longer available so I picked another type - which just happened to be NTB's parent company. Not only could I NOT make the appointment, I couldn't delete the original tire selection and it added the new tires to my account. So I physically drove to the store (Louisiana St., Houston, TX) and made an appointment with a service attendant named Rey. We selected the tires and made an appointment for 8:00 am today. I showed up at 8:00 am only to wait 1/2 hour only to find that my reservation didn't exist after all. No harm, no foul, so I selected the same set of tires and was told my car would be ready by 10:30am. I told the Service Attendant that I had a hard cut off at 11:00 am as I had a business meeting at 12:00 on the far side of Houston. I was assured it would be ready.

I arrived at 11:00 to find my car on the lift, tireless. I waited 20 minutes while I watched the service tech check his mobile three times and take one call and spend time talking to another tech. At 11:20, I asked to speak with a manager, TaShauna **. I told her about the need for my car and my conversation earlier, whereupon I was told that the tires I selected were in fact NOT in stock at that store, and that the person I spoke to drove his own car to another store to get a set (Really??? What kind of liability is that?). I was then told that he was in an accident and my tires hadn't arrived (although four tires) were sitting next to my car. By then, I'd lost my patience with Ms. ** and told her that NTB lost my business. By now it was 11:30 and I was already late for my appt. which I cancelled because even if my car was ready in 5 minutes, I would be too.

Miraculously, the tire arrived and were installed in record time. One of the techs made a futile attempt to placate me by telling me they would have my car ready in a few minutes. I told him it was too late. But wait... there's more. Their system went down and they couldn't take payment, or provide me with the warranty, etc. I was told I could call or they could swipe my card the old way. I got my car (but they didn't bother putting the lock nut away, but they were so kind to leave in on my console). I asked for the Regional Manager's name and number. I called him to complain, to ask for his boss's name and number. I was given his name but was told that the Regional Manager, who was located at an undisclosed site in Texas, didn't have an office number (mobile or landline) and that I should call their HQ. Mr. ** tried to "help" me by referring me to their URL.

One other piece of info, several years ago I took my Saab into the same location because the alternator needed replacing. I was sold an $800 reconditioned alternator that didn't make it through the warranty period. For a service company I am appalled by their cavalier attitude toward long-time customers. But I supposed I'm not surprised because there will be a dozen new customers to replace me. Shame on NTB's executives for allowing this to happen. Of course, they are unconcerned as long as they make their numbers and receive their bonus. Not only has NTB lost my business forever, I will forever suggestion to anyone I speak with to avoid NTB. As a businessman, I would never want to see misfortune befall another business, particularly because of the impact on the employees (I worked for and survived MCIWorldCon). I hope NTB works itself into oblivion. They are worst than incompetent. They are apathetic.

I live an hour and 20 minutes away and have to call my wife to come get me. They tell me the car will be ready by Noon on Sunday. On Sunday they call and say they can't get a part they need until Monday. They call me on Monday at 7:30 pm and say the car is now ready.

I picked up the car this morning April 8, 2014, expecting they would at least discount my bill for putting me and my family out for 4 days; WRONG!!!!! They charged me just under $2,400 and STILL HAD NOT INSPECTED THE CAR. So rather than trying to make a good, long time customer happy, they choose to stick it in hard and deep not caring if I was a good customer or not. I ask for the manager to call me. Do you think he did? OF COURSE NOT. So the bottom line is I go in Saturday morning for a state inspection, sit in the waiting room which was freezing cold for 7 hours, told, "We're closing, you need to leave", waited another 2 days only to pick the car up WITH NO INSPECTION STICKER ON THE CAR AND IT ONLY COST ME JUST UNDER $2,400. Separation of two of my tires at highway speeds (simultaneously). Proper maintenance was used. Dodge Diesel Truck running KM2 35 12.50 17 purchased from NTB (licensed BFG dealer). Have seen over 1000 complaints personally off this tire and issue as well as accounts from other dealers and employees from these companies. These tires need to be recalled. Damage to vehicle as well as a lot of stress from trying to get assistance with the matter, and sexist comments by the good ole' boys at National Tire and Battery in the south Austin location. (This location also made a side wall repair of my tire which could have been a lawsuit in itself if it would have blew.) I have attached the photos of the vehicle due to tire defect, as well as the following email of the laundry list of why not to ever use NTB.

Currently needing correction on a warranty issue, NTB was no help where I purchased the tires South I35 NTB Austin South 35 Motor Mile location. I am planning on purchasing a new set this upcoming week. Numerous others and I have had severe issues with the separation on KM2 mud terrain tires. I am adamant on rotating, keeping correct pressure and balancing my truck tires even though I am a young lady. My family, my dad’s company and dealership have always used BFG tires but now are reconsidering any further business due to this current issue. I have notice recalls were made for this same tire at a smaller size with BFG & have found many others that are having this issue of tire separation. I had purchased my tires from National Tires and Battery for roughly 1600 dollars in 2011. I drove them for a total under 25,000 miles, developed huge bubbles due to both back tires separating inside. I have documented this via video and pictures. I have contacted BFG as well due to this issue.

Furthermore, the issue that I am dealing with is the horrible treatment I have dealt with every single time I have went into specifically this location. The list begins on April 12, 2011. Shortly after I received my tires, I have come in to make sure that everything was good with balancing and tightness of my bolts since I went up to a larger size from the 265/70/17 which were stock. The guys that were in there were extremely condescending to me saying that wasn't my truck and other comments saying they just put them on and they don't need to check and a girl as pretty as me wouldn't understand.

Seriously I appreciate a portion of that comment but I came to deal with tires not people’s antiquated BS. The next times I came in the following happened, it turned into a joke with my friends about what would go missing or get messed up the next rounds; 1st rotation, employees lost a bolt from the front right tire and didn't say anything. I didn't see until a trip when I checked the tire pressure (my Dodge has covers over the bolts so it didn't fall off). I came in and told them and they said it was missing when I came in and an employee wrote it down. Really, I don't think so. The next time I came in they then lost another bolt after I replaced first. The manager said he would call the dealership south point and get a replacement but it didn't happen.

The next time the actual cover which goes on the wheel went missing and they said it must have fell off when they drove it to the front and a gentlemen said my bad, they’re like 40 bucks. The top visits included the repair to my front tire that sprung a leak. (I couldn't make this up if I wanted to.) During this visit I told the gentleman that I needed to repair a flat (usual comments endured). They took it around back and started to fix it (which is never in a timely matter). They came up front and had me walk into the back bay (working area) without goggles and next to all the honking and other repairs (I have been at the dealership and briefly worked my first summer job when I was 15 at Sears, I am very aware that this was a HUGE liability to the company to have a client be in the bay area). They showed me my truck and said they needed new shock so I said, “Yeah go ahead.”

They then ordered for a future time when we were back inside. This is where another employee said I am having problems patching and then three employees all guys were all around saying, “Yeah we need to get you a tube to put inside your tire”?? Almost just like the ones you float on as they explained to me and they called two places and then said, “They don’t have any for your size... you probably need a new tire then” and we started to look up when they could get another of my size delivered which was in two days. Then a member of the team came inside and said, “I got the tire fixed, it’s ready to go.” I was confused and asked, “So I don’t need a new tire?” The guys said, “I guess not you're good to go” and stated that guy works tire magic. I was relieved, said thanks and left. I then come back stupidly to get the shocks installed and they installed.

Then 5 months later I noticed a rattling and the bolt in my coil over shock in front is loose and you can tell that the wrong tool or a messed up tool was used since all the corners are rounded from overnighting or something. I also noticed that the back right shock is leaking and needs replacement. I reluctantly decided to go in to get this warranty done. I was informed that they could replace it and that again it wasn't their fault for the bolt because I could have had someone else install it. I said, “Whatever, please just fix it and since I have warranty, can you go ahead replace the others since they are as well leaking but not as much?” They then took off and said, “Those are still pretty good. We will replace the one and you can come in when the others ACTUALLY break.” I explained to them to please replace all because I do not want to ruin over 1000 dollars worth of tires... They wouldn't so I just fixed the one.

Forward to many rotations, balancing air ups checks, shock installation, etc... I am driving down I35 into Austin and I feel like sudden jerking and bouncing of my truck I immediately slowed from 70mph to stopping on the emergency lane of the highway got to the nearest exit and to a gas station in Kyle, Texas. To my dismay I look around the front of my truck, nothing. I move to the back of my truck and I have humongous bubbles on the sidewalls of BOTH back tires and a sure sign of separation at the exact time. Both tires, ridiculous! I then have the truck towed to Discount Tire and they give me the professional advice that the tires are separating and I am really lucky because they had had many diesel trucks with these tires come in with hurt passengers or wrecked trucks.

So they said, “We have the full replacement guarantee.” I inform them I unfortunately purchased them from NTB. I had them write this information and sign off as well as my videos and documentation. So the next day I go down to my NTB store and tell them I have spoken with BFG and I needed to go to where I purchased them to do the proper paperwork. I have them take my truck, do the measurements and they come up front to tell me they can give me back like 35 dollars in credit for the tires. And informed me that one of the tires was patched ON THE SIDE WALL and that I was lucky it didn't just blow as they laughed saying that is like the first rule in fixed tires that that's not a repairable under any circumstance (I knew this when I was 16).

If you remember previously in this extremely horrible letter that I had a hole patched (from an NTB employee on that same tire and ONLY one of my tires that has been repaired!) aka it was NTB employee at the Austin location as is documented in the paperwork. Long story short, I have at least half tread and would like to ask for some sort of credit or replacement as well as an explanation of what is going on with this location. Please forward to the proper NTB representative to take action on this claim please. Thank you.

I had my personal mechanic check out my brakes at rotors on my 1998 Nissan Pathfinder. He explained (by a brief inspection) that my rotors needed turned and I needed to replace front brake pads. I shopped around to price different estimates, NTB gave me (what I thought) was the fairest price so I took my vehicle in. Once at the desk I let them know I had called ahead of time and they said no problem and to leave the vehicle and they would contact me within 30 minutes with a diagnosis.

ONE HOUR FORTY FIVE MINUTES LATER, I finally called them. The employee says "Oh yeah, I was just about to call you, turns out we have bad news." He tells me that my rotors are worn down and that they did not meet grade. I needed brake pads, and also discovered that my calliper compression hose was bad. He said he got me the best rates and standard parts and was only going to charge me 600$ for parts + labor. Needless to say my day took a downward spin from there.

I then contacted my sister who works for a local Ford dealership in the service department to see if their estimate seemed legit. I spoke with a master mechanic who immediately told me to get my car and leave. He then proceeded to tell me Advanced Auto had my rotors for 20$ each (NTB was going to charge me 100$ each), my brake pads (top quality) from Advanced Auto $29.99 (NTB was charging me 109.99), and the infamous calliper hose for 15$ from NAPA (NTB wanted 75.99) and that he could have it fixed in an hour (NTB wanted to charge me 5 times more for parts and labor).

I obviously went to the Ford master mechanic and sure enough he saved my **, and my wallet, for less than $150 total for parts and labor. He also said that they (NTB) didn't even measure my old rotors because they were well above grade, and it didn't look like they'd even taken the tires off to test the hose because the compression on both sides was perfect. I will never go back nor recommend National Tire and Battery to anyone and I warn anyone who considers trusting their vehicles with these morons with absolutely no certification or skills. 400% Mark up on standard parts and 200$ an hour is utterly mind blowing… and clearly, I'm in the wrong profession as it seems those employees are making brain surgeon/rocket scientist/professional athlete money. If I could give negative stars I would. ** you NTB. ** you.

I needed two new tires and did not realize mine were almost bald until after a minor accident. I took the car to NTB because my usual mechanic doesn't stock tires and I wanted to get it done right away. The guy first told me he was the manager and that I needed a tire package which included alignment and all sorts of things I thought would be included. He wouldn't take no for an answer. I decided to get 4 tires, because I knew I would need two more soon, but he kept trying to sell me this other crap and wouldn't listen to me saying no. Finally, he agreed just to 4 tires and no package junk.

Then, after my car was raised up, way too high for tires, by the way, he took me into the garage to show me all sorts of problems under my car, which they would not have seen just changing the tires. He gave me a long list of stuff to fix that came to over $2K. I said no thanks. He tried to tell me he couldn't align my tires then because it required all of this other work (including windshield wiper fluid! ha ha). I said no. He said I had to get a tire rod and an axle shaft. I called my mechanic who said I could wait on everything, but suggested getting the tire rod, so I did. I declined everything else. The "manager" (I later found out he was not the manager) told me I would have an accident and die if I didn't get the axle shaft replaced and he couldn't align the tires without that.

After about 30 minutes, I stupidly agreed just to get him to shut up but I told him that I don't allow others to work on my car because I know that they always rip off women at car places and he was doing the same. I've had the unfortunate experience of dealing with mechanics who think they can talk you into replacing and fixing everything and then, worse, they don't even replace what you pay them to, figuring you won't check it out. He said he never does that, but he is going to do something special just for me... He said he never does this for anyone else but....he would give me his "personal cell number." He told me to call him anytime I had any problems.

When I arrived at the NTB store that day, my car remote was working fine; when I left, it was not. I checked the remote after I left there because it felt very light. The battery was missing! I got to work so late that day because of all the arguing about what I did not want done to my car, that I didn't have time to address the remote issue with NTB that day. I called the next day, first thing. I spoke to the real manager (I think) and he said to bring in the remote, and he was sure it was not intentional. It is hard to believe it is not intentional when someone takes your battery out of your car remote. I told him that stealing my $15 battery undermined all the work they did on my car because now I couldn't trust them.

I will have to take my car to my mechanic now to have it looked at to determine what they did or did not do. I frankly don't believe any of the work was done, and the tires don't even look new either. I am having it all checked out and plan to file in small claims court if anything is not as I paid for. After I dropped off the remote to get fixed (we'll see if it happens), I got a call from the guy who the previous day told me he was the manager. He apologized for giving me a wrong number as his personal cell phone number, not realizing I had not called him on the number he gave me the day before! So even that was a lie! You will not get the truth at NTB. You will not be allowed to simply buy tires either. You will get a very high pressure sales pitch similar to the dreaded timeshare sales. Choose a reputable tire vendor when you need them.

I went to NTB for 4 tires and an alignment. I brought my own new wheels for the car, and they agreed to give me the old wheels. A few minutes into the job, the mechanic asked to buy my old wheels for $15 for all 4. I said no and the mechanic seemed very upset and argued with me about how I won't get a better price elsewhere. He seemed upset that I wouldn't sell. Then, the mechanic comes back and says 2 of my studs are stripped and he cannot continue with the job. He quoted me $160 for 2 new studs ($4 for the studs and the rest labor). I asked him why should I pay for the part of they messed it up, and he said someone else stripped them.

One other person worked on my wheels a week earlier, but I know for a fact that that person did everything manually, and everything was in perfect condition when he was done. It's nearly impossible to strip a stud manually; pneumatic machines putting it in at a bad angle causes stripping. I declined to pay the $160 because I don't see why I should pay for something THEY damaged. They said they will not let me leave. They said I have 2 options: pay the $160 or have my car towed. I demanded they find a way to put the old stripped studs back in so I could leave. They reluctantly said, "We'll try but it probably won't work". I ended up calling a male friend (I am female) to come. After my male friend came, they didn't give me any more trouble, and they put both of the stripped studs back on. I left with the studs that they ruined because they refused to take responsibility.

I feel like they were trying to take advantage of me the entire time. First, by trying to trick me into selling my wheels to them for an offensively low price. Secondly, by trying to convince me that I should pay for the part THEY broke. And finally, for letting me leave with stripped studs that they ruined. They damaged my car and refused to take responsibility. They instead tried to blame someone else.

I had gone to the NTB located at 5370 West 130th Street in Brookpark, Ohio 44142 to get 4 new tires for my 2010 Chevy HHR. The service writer gave me a estimate of $750.00 with a warranty and alignment. I thought that was outrageous. I ask how much it would be without that. He said it would bring it down to $501.00 and I thought it was reasonable. The service writer then asked if I wanted a 6 month/6000 mile warranty with a alignment, and against my better judgement, I accepted that which brought the bill up to $615.00, and I would have been ok with that. But while I was in the waiting room, the service writer comes in and tells me that my fuel system needed to be cleaned and I just had that done on my last oil change, and a few other things just to increase the bill. I declined all of those services.

They call me from the waiting room and I paid my bill and I got in my car and started it up and noticed the engine light was on and the traction control light was on. I went back inside and asked why those lights were on, and told them that those lights were not on when I brought the car in there. The Yahoo who took my car in the back to try and figure out why those lights were on and he told me a bunch of crap why the engine light was on and didn't have an answer why the traction control light was on. The yahoo went into the back as I basically stated that NTB screwed up the car so they can get paid to fix something else.

I never heard of the engine light and the traction light coming on just from having 4 new tires installed. I guess I should have went to Wal-mart and paid half as much and not have these problems. I never ask them to even open the hood, all I wanted was tires. I strongly believe that NTB rigged my car just so I would have to spend more money with them. I have yet to speak with the manager about this matter, but I doubt I will get any results just from reading these reviews. If this is NTS's business practices, I'm surprised they are still in business. This is the first and last time I will ever set foot in a NTB, even if I have to pay someone else to fix the engine light problem and the traction control light problem.

NTB sold and installed the wrong speed rated tires for my 2009 Camry LE 2009. Camry LE needs a "V" rated tire. They sold and installed a "T" rated tire.

P/215/60/16 Michelin Defender is a "T" rated tire. Car slides in wet driving conditions and is unsafe at any speed. Returned to NTB with complaint. They offered to sell and install a tire I cannot afford.

The review is specifically about the NTB located at 1973 S Robert St, West St Paul, MN 55118, Phone: (651) 455-0002. This customer service at this place is horrible. The guy at the front desk, broke my car keys while trying to open the car door. One mechanic tried a bit to open the door using some tools but couldn't. That's it. After that nobody bothered to help me out. Their attitude was like, we broke the keys, so what can we do. They expected me to figure out a solution (I had to find a ride myself, drive 50 miles to my home to get the duplicate key). This was an utter waste of my time, energy and money for which they didn't accept any responsibility. They didn't even apologize about the whole damn situation which they created. That was the worst of all. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. Customer service is the most important aspect of this business. And if they don't have a ** idea about how to talk to customers, then this place shouldn't be running.

Heads up to all the consumers out there looking to speak with NTB's corporate office. I have called three previous times over the same issue only to discover that the number for their corporate office is only a third party vendor hired to take complaints/compliments. Think about it... If you have to hire a third party to take your complaints/compliments, don't you think they receive more complaints than compliments? Don't waste your time calling this number as all they do is go directly back to the store with the complaint and have them contact you.

I purchased 4 new tires (Michelin) for my daughter's van. She was never offered road hazard and I believe it's because she declined to have an alignment (which after reading all these reviews, I see that's very important to them). Three weeks later, she's driving down the interstate and hears a loud pop. Instantly her front left tire is completely flat! The chief of the local fire department stops to help and changed the tire for her. He looks at the flat tire and noticed a spot on it and tells her this is a defective tire. It looks like it's been plugged before.

I take it to NTB on Hwy 153 in Chattanooga, TN and explain this to them. They instantly defended themselves stating this is something she ran over. Keep in mind, there was nothing left in the tire. Just a huge round spot with some damaged tread. After arguing with them, they fixed the tire from the inside out. I've been on the phone to their corporate headquarters twice now and both times they've sent me back to the local store.

I've requested that they replace this tire as it's defective. I've done business with this store for over 12 years! Never purchased my tires or my daughter's tires anywhere else. Apparently this means nothing. All I've asked of them is to replace this tire as it is now compromised. My grandchildren ride in this van and I feel that they are all unsafe. Now the tire is leaking!

I can assure you, I will NEVER do business with them again once I get resolution to this issue. I'm about ready to contact Michelin directly and let them know what kind of retailer is representing their product. From reading all the negative reviews, I believe NTB needs someone to come in there and clean house or shut down one. It appears this is a nationwide issue.

On October 19th, I took my car to NTB to have the oil changed and requested they check the fluid levels as I knew the windshield reservoir was empty. I also asked that they verify the alignment of the wheels as I had just purchased new tires mid-August with the 1-year alignment. None of the requested services required wheels to be removed from my vehicle. I was then approached and shown my car up on the rack with all 4 wheels removed and told I had to have in excess of $1800.00 of service to render the car road-worthy. Really, I just paid for 4 new tires mid-August and would not have questioned the tires being removed then.

Why were all 4 wheels removed from the vehicle to change the oil? This should not have occurred! I never gave them permission nor did I even remotely think for a second they would remove all 4 wheels! They then explained to me that my brake pads both front and back needed to be replaced and that my front struts were breaking. And all of this since Mid-August when they put on my new tires?

Now I was monitoring and expecting to have to replace the back brake pads prior to the end of the year; however, I only took the car in to have the oil changed. I did not request that it be checked for all possible work. Once I finally escaped from NTB and reviewed my paperwork, I learned that my front brake pads were just replaced in Feb. 2012 less than two years ago. I believe their removal of all 4 wheels and their approach to demanding this work be done immediately, was under-handed, inappropriate, and just plain dishonest. I strongly warn others from doing business with these folks. I never will go there again!

Back in May 2013 I went to NTB on Stateline to get an alignment done on my truck. When they got my truck up on the rack they did their inspection. When they were done with the inspection they told me my Pitman arm needed to be replaced & that it would be pointless to do the alignment if I did not get it replaced. They showed me how they checked it & what they did was grabbed my front wheel & wiggled it. I told them to go ahead & replace it & I had purchased their 1 year alignment deal. After that day my truck had been driven around for about 400 miles then kept in the garage. I had put a leveling kit on my truck & adjusted the torsion bar.

Oct. 2013 I took my truck to NTB in Liberty to get an alignment. I had made an appointment online for 10:00 am & call the store to confirm the appointment. I get there @ 9:00 a.m. & they did not start on truck till 12:30. When they finally got my truck up on the rack & did their inspection they told me both my wheel bearings needed to be replaced. They showed me how they checked it & what they did was grabbed my front wheel & wiggled it. I told them NTB on Stateline did the same exact thing when they told me my Pitman arm needed to be replaced. I asked them how come the Stateline store did not tell me my wheel bearings were bad then & they told me that whoever worked on my truck at the Stateline store either overlooked it or just missed it. I asked how much it would cost to replace the wheel bearings & was quoted around $700.00. I told them I did not have the money for it & told them to do the alignment anyways.

At that point they were just trying to talk me out of the alignment & talked me into getting a NTB credit card so I could pay to get the wheel bearings replaced. I was pretty ticked off that I paid for a year long alignment & the Liberty store did not want to do my alignment till I purchased something else. I feel like I get raped every time I go to NTB. After my 1 year is up on my alignment I will not do business with NTB again. I will not recommend anybody to go there. I was told not to go there by several people before I went. Went to NTB in Cumming, Georgia on Buford Highway. I needed four tires replaced. First, NTB is not the least expensive tire store when comparing the same tire across various stores. But I went there as they had the tire in stock and could handle the work on a Saturday (same day that I called). The sales rep is less than pleasing to work with - amazing given the transaction amounts they work with. Arrogance would be a word that describes the people there that interface with the public. I told them when I dropped it off I had an issue with the TPMS sensor in two wheels and was looking at going to a dealership for a fix.

Three hours later, when I returned, I learned they fix these types of sensors - but a different rep was there. They should have offered this when the tires were being replaced. Customer service is not their focus. So now I can either take three more hours off work to get this done - at a dealership or at NTB. Then I called the dealership and learned they are less expensive for the sensor replacement than the NTB store. I'll never go back - save your time and money and go somewhere that acts like they want you.

The purpose for this information is to report a denial of my rights to have the freedom of choice with my car by the manager ** at the 4901 Eldorado Pkwy McKinney, Texas store 774 who has chosen to provide only his choice of services. All of the cars from our home get oil changes every 3 months or 3-4K miles. We also have done scheduled maintenance at this facility for years and we have 4 cars in our family at this moment. Yes we make appointments online to use coupons and the mailers at times. But the money we have spent here is only a glimmer to the amount a small coupon has saved my household.

On 9/22/2013 my daughter who is to be 21 in a few weeks made an online appointment with National Tire and Battery to have her oil changed at a 10:30 am appointment (Note: while making her appointment the website stated it was having maintenance and it shut down. She stayed up until 9/23/2013 at 4 am to make her appointment since the website was down 3 hours. Her Order was ** at the #774 store on Eldorado). My daughter of whom the car belongs to dropped the car off at the NTB Store. After making an appointment to specify what services requested there should be no need for any explanations of what is requested. The customer chose what service is needed and wanted to maintain the car. She's showing to be responsible by taking her car to NTB to get services done on her car. It would be expected the salesman to recommend the other oils and let a choice be made by the customer. Which is not what happened. She left with the impression her bill would be $19.99 plus taxes and that's it. She informed them of her appointment made online; she told them she came for an oil change. She dropped her keys off and left after dropping off the car.

She needed to pick her car up before getting to work at 5:30 pm and was running late. My son who is 22 years old went to get her car while she got ready for work. She was expecting to pay $19.99 plus taxes. The gentleman behind the counter told my son the bill is $79.00. The gentleman behind the counter took $5.00 from a coupon that my son happened to have in his possession which he was going to use it for his car at a later date. When my son explained the bill was expected to be $19.99 plus tax that his sister budgeted to take care of her car, the gentleman behind the counter said all he can do is$ 5.00 off. My son explained to the gentleman that my daughter did not have the extravagant amount of money for the bill again. The gentleman explained that the oil change was with synthetic oil and it's a $79.00 oil change. It was $68.00 and still was not expected as the $19.99.

My son stepped away and called me/his mom. I live within walking distance so it took 5 minutes for me to arrive. After arriving the gentleman named ** said no matter the bill is a synthetic oil change. I informed him I have a screen shot of the appointment made for the oil change on the car and it's a basic oil change not synthetic. Synthetic is the premium oil choice for any car. I stated the appointment is for basic. He says that car is to be changed with synthetic oil only. I asked him, "Doesn't the customer have a choice? You have a pad here on the desk so the customer can choose." I asked, "So you're not going to give me a choice? This is a free country. I should be able to choose which oil I prefer for my car." He stated, "NO, for this car there is no choice." I asked, "IIs it because of the past history of the car?" He stated, "NO; that's not why. It is because it's got synthetic oil in it now." I told him it's there because he has told us the past 3 times the car has to have synthetic oil service done on the car refusing to give me or my spouse a choice.

Previously the oil pan was replaced and when it was replaced he said it has to have synthetic oil not giving the customer a choice. This was the 3/14/2013 service date. Due to an error on his part this service occurred. He also later apologized because he was denying doing the last oil change at which this is the only place the oil had been changed since purchasing the car. My spouse and I have a car at 300K and it only gets basic and mine is 150K, the same basic oil changes at this NTB. We feel confident we can make appropriate service decisions for the care of our cars. Not to mention we do have mechanics in the family to refer to the recommendations and as we feel the need.

After speaking to **, he stated the past 3 times the oil was changed, it was synthetic. I explained to him not at our choice, we do not want synthetic. Even reading the manual of any car it has a recommendation of synthetic it's been like that for decades. No one really does this unless they can afford $100.00 approximately every 3 months for maintenance. (He documented on the car history that the car is not to be left for any service by anybody but me or my spouse. Also; the car is to never receive a basic oil change at this store. He firmly informed me.). I asked why? He said the car has synthetic oil in it and the Volkswagen Beetle requires it. I explained to him it's recommended for all cars but not required or the others oils would not be offered.

I took the sales oil services with Premier (Best), Advantage (Better), Select (good) services pad on the desk and held the options up to him and asked, "You mean to tell me I will not be given a choice of the services I want," as I pointed at the other oil change services. He said NO. I explained to him that this is a free country. I have the right to choose the oil services maintenance my cars receive and he is not to refuse me the freedom of choice. After speaking to **, he decided to call a number he said was corporate of which I know for sure he did not give enough information to the person on the other end to be able to get anything answered or clarified.

The main information he provided after stating he has a woman in front of him requesting basic. He asked can a car get basic after having synthetic. He said to me, "NO, see their corporate agrees with me. This car will only get synthetic and I will take $50.00 off this sale." I told him its recommended not required. If the car goes and breaks down and it's because of the choice of oil I made being basic, that's on me. If I don't choose and it has the premium services and synthetic oil and it's the oil that causes the car to cease to run, I for sure will take his head off.

Customers were witnessing this event unfold of him not being willing to let me choose the services. All of the while making sure to document that the car is to be only dropped off by me/Mom or my spouse. And they are to never have a choice of the basic oil change for this car. My spouse called me asking what's wrong since I called him to inform him of the forced services we are being forced to pay. Not by our choice. My spouse stated it should be $19.99 plus taxes if that's what the appointment is made for and nothing more unless requested. I agreed with my spouse and decided since **decided to change the cost of the current bill at this time to be $24.88. I had an appointment deadline of my own and decided to address this when I had more time.

As for consequences ultimately; I want this to never occur again, and no discriminating against my choice of services I prefer to be provided to me and my family like the rest of the population. The treatment from the salesman, publicly denying me my rights telling me NO made me even more angry. Regarding how to service or care for my cars. This is never to happen again especially if I am paying for services. He can recommend till the cows come home so I can choose what I feel is needed for my cars. Also stop discriminating against my daughter and her car to no longer happen because it's hers and she will be on her own. I will not be able to be around always. If the request of a simple oil Change and what comes with it was done, this could have been avoided.

This is not the first time. It's the fourth time being bullied to have synthetic oil. It did not originally have it in it until it was put in by this salesman our request not to do this was done anyway. Using the same excuse it's required for this car. An apology I have already heard that once it did not solve the problem, the common denominator is the salesman: **. He states he makes things right for me and takes care of me. If he made things right and took care of me, then why does this keep occurring? Also if he made things right and took care of me why did he have me sign a paragraph of only his side of the story sounding like he recommended the synthetic oil not telling me I have to have it. I want justice!

I have my own mechanic. But I, like a fool, let them talk me into a front end alignment. 1.5 hours later, I have new tires, $986.00?? OK. I drive the truck down the road and I'M ALL OVER THE ROAD! The steering wheel has so much play I could scream. It veers off to the left! I take it right back. I complained. I watched some fat guy get behind my truck and take it around the block and park it. The service person promptly says TWO people took it for a test drive and nothing is wrong with it.

I stated I only saw one person getting in my truck, not two and I want my money back. They refunded my front end alignment charge, but the truck drives like crap. Now I have to take it back to my mechanic with my head hanging low and tell him what I did and pray we find someone who can correct the alignment! BEWARE!!! I am HIGHLY disappointed! All I expect from NTB workers is to bust tires, get that right. Stay away from the rest of the vehicle! If you were licensed mechanics, you wouldn't be busting tires for a living! Pissed, I let myself fall for the front end alignment **. Angry because NTB is scamming hundreds of people with these faulty front end alignments! They would not change the oil with my oil and filter so I said no oil change. I left the car with them for 38 minutes. They called me telling me they have rotated and balanced the tires but had some service recommendations. Before I dropped my car off, my car was well maintained and had a very smooth ride. I had just had my car inspected and the power steering replaced at the Chevy dealership (Huffines Chevrolet in Lewisville, TX) about 10 days ago.

The service recommendations were that my front struts were blown and my rear passenger shock was leaking and I needed my wheels aligned. They said that covered the suspension portion of the recommendations and my rear drums needed to be cleaned, adjusted, and repositioned so the shoes hit right. The total for everything would be $974 and change. I went ahead and authorized the $29.99 for the rear brakes which showed up on my receipt as preventative brake maintenance. At this point, I was very nervous and worried about my car. I am kinda OCD when it comes to my car. I bought the car at 40,800 miles. I have every single receipt for every repair, oil change, part, inspection, warranty replacement (fuel filter and power steering), etc. in my glove box in an NTB folder.

After picking up my vehicle I drove down to Valvoline (Carrollton, TX) for the oil change and I felt every single bump in the road. Even bumps that I could not see (the road appeared very smooth). There is also now a rattle from my front end. Needless to say, I am PISSED!!!! My car was great, now it's just crap. I will save up the money and get the car fixed. I might take my car back in 7,500 miles for the tire rotation (yes, I rotate at 7500) but I will NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER let the car out of my sight again. Last year around July 2012 time frame I took my car to Walmart for oil change. They have looked at the oil leak and said that Oil Pan threads were stripped and whoever did the last oil change stripped oil pan threads. They did not do the oil change. Usually I go to NTB for Oil change on regular basis. Then I was pretty mad and went to NTB and told them the problem. Initially they said that it’s due to wear and tear and suggested me to either change oil pan or alternative they can do I they can put butterfly plug that will lock itself from inside and prevent this kind of leak. I realized that if it’s oil pan change they won’t do it for free for sure as it would cost them in terms of part and labor. I did not even think about oil pan change and told them I don't care what you do just fix the leak and I won’t pay for it.

They have replaced with butterfly plug and put not on receipt and said that "Oil Pan stripped no by us... Something like that." Since it’s their mistake they should not charge me for butterfly plug but they have cleverly not charged me for oil change and charged me for butterfly plug. Later after few days I have looked at the comment they made that "Oil Pan not stripped". I went to them and asked them why did they put that comment? Since you guys stripped the threads just remove them from Invoice. They said they won’t do it and it’s not done by them. Since Fix was working I did not fight much.

Later after that Incident I have done couple of oil changes with that butterfly plug on. Every time they do the oil change they put the remark that seal holds good. One day I asked what that means? They said this is not permanent fix and eventually washer loses its capability. At that time I thought if this goes bad than I can still get new butterfly plug and fix it like they did earlier. This cost only around 28 dollars and even if I change once year it’s not much instead of changing the pan which I know would cost lot but not sure how much?

Yesterday (August 2013) I went for Oil change and they said that they don't handle with this kind of stuff (i.e. changing oil for butterfly plugs). I told them plug was installed by NTB and I had done the oil changes after that. The guy was not willing to listen and said that it is not done here and we don't install butterfly plugs. I requested him to print out all my past receipts, which he did, and showed him it was installed her. Then he pulled out other two invoices which are related to oil changes done later after that butterfly plug was installed and tried to argue that NTB did not do that oil change after butterfly plug was installed. He showed me invoice pointing to the negative amount on invoice telling that the money was put back on credit card and they did not do the oil change.

Then I asked him to compare this negative amount pointed in invoice to one of the old invoices charged earlier. Not it was clear that they have charged me for oil change now. This guy was trying to bluff me showing the negative amounts in the invoice. Once I clarified him that they have did the oil changes then he went and talked to manager. Now manager comes and sings the same song and says that management is changed now. Then I asked them what are my options? They said they have to replace the oil pan. I asked them how much will it cost? They said it would cost $670 for pan and $340 for Labor with estimate for around $1100 along with all the fees. Please let me know if something can be done against them. They are not even willing to do that oil change with that plug on?

Originally balanced with 1.5 ounces per tire and now there is 7 ounces on one side and 4.5 on the other. Not to mention rub marks from the machine. Apparently they didn't use the right wheel adapter and now both wheels are scuffed from the machine.

I just can't imagine what training they go through if any to learn how to do tires. I've always known that if you reach 3 ounces then the tire is out of round and needs a new or different tire. These tire company i.e. BF Goodrich and Goodyear stand behind their tires so if they had a bad tire they would swap it with the tire center. And do you think they even mentioned that they had to use so much weight? No, of course not. Just send you to the cashier and get you on your way. Thank God I wasn't already on a long road trip pulling a heavy trailer that would have I been worse. Going back to get refund and wheel replacements.

#269 1640 Holt Road, Columbus, Ohio - Totally unsatisfactory. The first time I brought my car in I told them the dealer said there was a leak in the condenser. They replaced the condenser, but the air conditioning still did not work. They placed dye in the system and I scheduled another appointment so they could get the part. I told them I would wait, but they had the wrong part and did not tell me while they crossed town to get the appropriate one. I was there 4 hours, yet that was not the solution either. I told them the dash light indicating the air was working did not come on. They told me it didn't matter, the air should be working. I went in a third time and was told the valve inside that part was clogged so they inserted a new one. I still had no air, and brought it in a fourth time. I was then told they did not add enough freon when converting from the metric system. I was told to come back a fifth time whether the air was working or not. I have since popped the hood and the valve cap had not been replaced.

I took my 2005 RX 330 Lexus truck to NTB in Matteson, IL to get a simple oil change & they took the engine undercover off to get to where to change the oil. The mechanic didn't replace it correctly & it came off on the expressway. I thought it was a flat. When I took the car back in Dec., Reginald, the manager, told me it came off due to going over speed bumps. I took my truck back on 6/13/13 & the front end engine cover came off (no coincidence). Just to advise anyone who takes pride in their vehicle being serviced correctly, this was not a good place for me. Also the mechanic didn't reset the oil check light to turn off & I had to take it back, unnecessarily. Parts such as engine covers for Lexus trucks are uncommon, the dealer told me, & very expensive. I will not be returning back to NTB again.

Upon trying to get good service, a simple oil change and service on left rear tire sensor. After waiting over 2 hours for service, the technician rotated the tire before changing the sensor. This center then tried to charge me for another sensor which was not bad. After this bad service and no recourse to fix my issue, I was charged more money. Service done and overcharged oil change at a tune of $112.97 for repair made and oil change. What kind of handyman outfit are they running? Your store manager: **. Invoice#: **. I had 2 tires installed. When it was finished in 1.5 hours, I noticed that the tires and wheels were still very dirty. The customer promise says they will be cleaned. Also, the valve stem caps were missing from the wheels with new tires. I was given a bit of an attitude when I asked to have them taken care of. I asked for the manager but was told he is in a meeting. I said just give him a call. As it ends up, Greg, the manager, was in his car driving. He gave me an attitude when I first got on the phone. I said I was telling him about my experience, thinking he'd care. That just made him laugh in the phone at me. I will absolutely NEVER return to an NTB again after this treatment.

I took my car to NTB in March 2013 for an oil change and tire rotation. I usually go to Goodyear, but this place is closer to my job so I went there on my way from work. Now it is time for another oil change so I take it back to Goodyear. I had this car for 12 years and have never had a problem with this car.

Goodyear found the oil pan plug had been stripped (caused by screwing it in too tight). The mechanic at Goodyear immediately showed the manager that the plug was brand new and did not fit into the oil pan. Basically, the plug was just sitting in the hole and not properly tightened because the grooves on the oil pan had been stripped.

I immediately called NTB and told the guy who answered what happened, and told him I was bringing the car to them now. Goodyear put a new, longer plug into the oil pan, filled up the oil and I went to NTB. Well, needless to say, the manager, Ron, told me that Goodyear could have done it. I asked for the name of the district manager. That's when Ron said they had to contact home office and he would call me on Monday.

Goodyear charged me $57 to re-thread the oil pan and I have complained to the BBB and they advised me to take them to small claims court. My neighbor swears by NTB and always tells me to go to NTB. I will NEVER, EVER take my car to NTB again. Thank God, Goodyear is near my house. I will be going to Cobb County courthouse to file a small claim against NTB if I do not hear from them by the end of the day today!
