Unprofessional and disrespectful to customers. ** store manager (5580 Highway 6 North, Houston, Tx 77084) hates veterans and what they stand for. Bans from his shop. Because he is the manager and he can do what he wants. Very disrespectful to his elders. Ups the price on material need for the job. Does unnecessary work on your vehicle.

I am surprised at 3.5 stars...should be 1 or 0. Here’s why. I tried two nearby stores Waltham, MA and Cambridge MA.

    1. Appointments with them has no meaning esp. done online. At times store refuse to honor appt. made online or will make you wait 2 hours for oil change or tire rotation citing that they have other appts. done at the store. I took picture of the screen in the store showing appts. and it did not show overbooking as claimed by the store manager

    2. Incompetent. The mechanic after changing oil did not how to reset message on a C300 Benz!!! Also I had tires changed and within 6000 miles and 9 months they did It pass inspection. After Blake game and threat to sue, the site admitted that they put wrong tires. AND this is the tire company!

    3. Liars. I asked them to replace authentic original brake pads for my Lexus. The store manager looks at me and said yes. When I challenged that the part is from AutoZone he then tries to cover up by saying “...yeah it’s original equipment...”

In general I would it use and trust them for anything. I am stuck for now as I have warranty for rotations and balance for the tires. Once the tires are done, I am done with NTB. BTW, complaining with corporate office does little other than giving some coupons which is not worth wasting your precious time with them.

Took my car into National Tire and Battery for four new tires. I parked around back in a parking space. I observed a tech with a box in his hand approach my vehicle, lift the hood place this box under my hood, reach into my vehicle and then return to under the hood. He then reached into my vehicle again from the driver door and back to my engine under the hood. The tech then return to my vehicle for the third time but this time he sat inside my vehicle. The tech then exited my vehicle, retrieve the box from under the hood and shut the hood. Quite some time later my vehicle was then brought into the shop, put on the left and the new tires were eventually put on my vehicle. I was later told that my vehicle may need to be jumpstarted in order to exit the shop and was shown a readout for poor battery voltage.

I explained to them that I have never had an issue with my battery. They express that maybe they left the lights on while in the shop and it drain the battery. This had me confused because I believe they tested the battery before my vehicle was ever brought into the shop. When my vehicle was returned to me the first thing I noticed was that my seat setting had been erased oh, my clock was now 10 minutes fast and I had a low tire pressure light.

I returned to the shop about the low pressure tire light and they explained that the battery was too low for them to reset it and that it would reset as I drove the vehicle. I have since experienced issues with my battery, my phone charger which was plugged into an auxiliary port no longer works and it's damaged as well as my vehicle not detecting my key fob. I now have to purchase a new battery and a new phone charger and pray that there's been no permanent electrical damage to my vehicle from this incompetent Tech who did not have permission to test my battery!

Went in for an oil change and inspection at the Lewisville Texas location. The check engine light was on due to the truck needing an oil change. We told the associate twice to make sure the oil change was performed first as we knew it would not pass inspection with the light on. They said it would take about 4 hours for an oil change. We came back about 3-4 hours later and oil change had not been done but the inspection was and of course it failed.

We told them this was worthless and wasn't what we asked. We were told we could bring it back within 15 days but it must be driven for at least 50 miles as they had some probe that checks history and it would not let them do the inspection again on the same day. We left after the oil change and sure enough, the light was no longer on. Took it to a Firestone, got it inspected and passed. Also had asked for new wiper blades and the technician had to come up and ask what we wanted as the associate had written down 2 different types of blades on the order. We're done. No more NTB.

One of my employees from Ohio had a coolant leak in Tennessee. He ended up at a NTB store where they told him it was hoses. $524 for2 hoses that cost $60. They did the work but didn't run it and inspect it after. 15 miles away the van started to overheat. He added water and went back. Where they charged another $600+ for a $140 water pump. The employee didn't have a choice but to pay it to get home. I am going to dispute the charges with the credit card company until NTB decides to get real on their price.

I was 2 hours away from home at my granddaughter's softball tournament when my brake pedal went to the floor. I took my Tahoe to the NTB in Shelby NC because it was less than 3 miles away, along with being open on Saturday. After a quick inspection, I told the folks at NTB that I believe I need my caliper replaced. (This was after an extensive wait at the counter, because the gentleman working was either very inexperienced or very incompetent.)

So they put my truck up and quoted me $755.00... Telling me I needed the caliper, pads and the rotor. I work at AutoZone and am quite familiar with parts prices. So I told the guy that that was an obscene estimate, given that the parts would run me less than $200. An experienced mechanic with all the high tech equipment could do the job in an hour or so. I feel that $500/hour for labor is a little (ridiculously) excessive.

So my husband drove 2 hours and fixed it in the parking lot next door to NTB. After my employee discount, it cost us $136 in parts (and they were right, I needed the caliper, pads and rotor). He did it in about 2 1/2 hours on the ground (no hoist or power tools). NTB has absolute disregard for how hard the average American works to earn their money. To inflate prices to that degree is nothing short of highway robbery. My 1st and last visit to NTB.

I brought a Ford Edge 2011 to NTB for tires, and brakes. I paid the sum of $2222.44. My vehicle was not making noise. However, after nearly 4 hours, my vehicle was handed back to me. Few months later I start to hear a high pitch sound and took the vehicle into two Ford dealerships, they indicated the brakes were on right but looked like an inferior product. NTB claimed they placed the best disc brakes and rotors on the market. Then tried to sell me Springs. The noise is still there and I'm waiting over 3 hours for 4 tires to be rotated and balanced. I recently went to the NTB store located at 6405 Baltimore National Pike, Catonsville, MD, to get a wheel alignment. I have a five year alignment plan. I really went in to make an appointment, but the service person said that he would take it right away. I had been waiting about 45 minutes when the service person came into the waiting room to tell me that I needed 4 new tires and a front shock and strut assembly for a price of just over $1,000. I declined the service. He said that he would have my car completed and I could go. I waited another 45 minutes before I went to see what the hold-up was. I saw that my car was out of the shop and parked in front of the store. The service person was working with another customer. I waited approximately 30 minutes until he finished with that customer.

I was standing at the counter by this time. Instead of him coming to me, he started doing something else. I said to him, "Sir, I need to get out of here". He turned to me and said nastily, "I'm the only person working here". I asked him what was I waiting for because I wasn't buying anything. It was just a matter of him handing me my keys which he could have done at least 45 minutes ago. It would have only taken a few seconds. Also, on two occasions I have gone in for a prepaid alignment and was told that I needed other work and both times the price was in excess of $1000. I find this very suspicious. I've purchased several sets of tires from NTB over the years, but I will not be using them again.

The shop manager was very disrespectful to me on the basis that I "don't understand anything." I wasn't even talking about anything mechanical, just stating that I heard a new noise. On speaker phone with my SO, the manager was disputing a factual event that had occurred - a bad sound that started the previous day right after NTB worked on the car. I witnessed this very clearly, and the manager or a mechanic could've witnessed it if he were willing to go on the test drive. We would have *insisted* that they witness it if they had disputed it when we first told them (right after our solo test drive the day before). But instead, they only disputed it the next day on the phone when my SO was asking what they had relayed to the district manager so far.

Since the shop manager seemed to be disputing something I very clearly witnessed, I chimed in (for the first and only time in the convo) to confirm we did in hear this new noise after they worked on it the day before. The manager snapped "MA'AM, I was talking to *HIM,* Can I talk to HIM again?" My SO told him that I have been affected by this too and that I was there at his request and welcome to speak up. The manager responded in a high condescending voice that "SURE, sure of course but she doesn't know what she's talking about and she doesn't understand anything or know about cars so you should just explain things to her but you're welcome to speak for her."

I don't have to know a THING about cars to know that my SO's car, which I've ridden in a million times, started making this new, unsettling noise directly after the last time NTB had worked on it! If their gut reaction to a woman's voice, regardless of what she was saying, was "you don't know anything, but a man can speak for you," I have to wonder how they treat their female customers who come in alone. I would never bring my own car here out of fear that they'd overcharge me as much as possible since "I don't know anything."

---- Also, I will leave the details to his own review (if he makes one), but in the course of this problem, my SO has spent $4700 here in the past month, and dozens of hours of our time. Some of that was for tires, but over $2k was to replace parts that mysteriously showed up "broken" right "after" NTB worked on the car (within hours). NTB didn't notice any of these "broken" parts the first two times they worked on it (maybe because they weren't broken until NTB worked on the car?). But once they pointed them out and told my SO they had to be replaced to fix the car to be safe to drive, he went ahead and paid up thinking there was no choice. The parts they replaced with the $2k made *no difference* in solving the issue. We don't have the car back yet but it sounds like it turned out to be one small cheap part that was causing the issue all along.

I went to the store located on Military Highway in Norfolk VA and upon entering I could feel in my gut it was going to be lackluster. One gentleman working the counter, trying to take phone calls and wait on the folks in line ahead of me, a manager finally popped up and was a bit brash to the woman in front of me, etc. I waited about an hour or so, and I can tell you that in the shop area there was a whole lot of lollygagging and slack jawing going on, a whole lot of walking around in circles, etc. It seems like a very disorganized place and needless to say I will be headed back to Firestone where I have found I get the best service and treatment. I went in for four new tires and an alignment. Was quoted almost $800. I was told an hour for tires and an hour for alignment. Go back after an hour because they wanted to show me the ball joints and c arm needed replacing. Quoted almost 2,000 total. Car was finished two hours after this. I saw the ball joints and believe they did need to be replaced and was only disappointed after seeing the bill. They were charging almost $1,000 for labor. My car was there for a total of 3 hours!! I wish I got paid that hourly rate.

So when we questioned the labor fee we calculated that it should have been more like just under $700. The guy said we were paying more because the mechanic had 17 years experience. Still planning on calling back and demanding money back. There is 200-300 dollars not accounted for what they billed me. Highway robbery that they use a calculation saying the job should be 5.6 hours yet it was done in an hour. Very sad. They were already making money why the need to overbill so much more. Greedy!!

I went to this establishment to have a slow leak fixed before driving out of town. The manager of the store told me that I needed 4 tires and that one of the rims was bent and could not be fixed. He suggested that I replace it. I thought about it and purchased the 4 new tires and a brand new rim (total: $1,446). This was against my own gut feeling because I did the exact same thing less than two years ago. I was told at that time that the tires were all worn in the exact same places.

One day later I get in my car only to find a message that 2 of the 4 tires were low (one was at 23% and the other at 18%). I returned to the store for the manager to tell me that there was a crack in the rim (he says it was different from the first one). I am confused as to why they did not see that when they took all of the tires off the rims and replaced them. Why could they not see the problem while I was waiting to have the problem solved on the first visit (from 8:30 a.m.-2;50 p.m.). The manager told me that it most likely happened after I left the shop. He recommended a friend at another shop that he says could fix the tire. After all of the waiting (6 hours) and $1,446 later I still have a slow leak. The manager was not helpful and very defensive when I tried to explain the situation after I returned. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this establishment and hope that no one else has to be put through this disservice.

So I accompanied a friend of mine who went in for the $20 oil change. He doesn’t know much, and I’m a DIYer so I didn’t want him to get taken advantage of. Scheduled an appointment for 5:30, they said they were running behind and it would be another 20 minutes. Not a big deal, while I was outside they asked if he needed anything else. He said just the tire rotation and top of the washer fluid, which is included free. The man at the service desk came out and told us that my friend needed tires. I said “I know they will eventually but they have 6/32nds”. I know cas. I just put them on a month ago. He got some used tires to save some money. And it just passed inspection, garage had the tread depths on the invoice. He said okay, and left it at that. They got the oil change done pretty quick. He paid and we left.

We stopped to get something to eat, so I took the time to check their work. I made marks on the tires so I would know if they were rotated. My marks were still there, my friend said, “Oh, when you were on a phone call they told me they couldn’t rotate the tires because they’re too bald and I’d need to get tires.” Are you kidding me?!?! 6/32nds is not bald. That was the reason we went to NTB, they offered the most for the price. They did the oil, new filter and topped off the washer fluid. But to lie so they didn’t have to rotate the tires is terrible. I had him bring it to my garage to do the rotation ourselves. Won’t be going back. They push you to buy things you don’t need and lie to get you to buy it. He won’t be going their for tires when he does in fact need them. Stay Away from NTB.

At 9:20 I spoke with the manager. Told him my appt. was for oil change only and would like to have car back by lunch as I work across the road at Home Depot. He said verbatim "If you had been here at 9am I would have started but now you have backed me up the whole day". I did not tell him that he did not speak with the guy in front of me that way. He then went to my car and when he came back I asked him that I would like to get an accurate read on how much brake I have left (bear in mind their oil change special include brake inspection). He said he could not give me any estimate as brake pads wear differently. Then he said I "will not put conventional oil in you car". I asked why as it now has it. He was then emphatic "I'm not going to do it".

At that point I was dumbfounded. He was curt from the beginning and now he is insulting. I am a Chem engineer and all he had to say was, "NTB will only allow me to follow manufacturer standards." But he was extremely rude as if he was an expert in all things automotive. I took my keys and left and now all I can do is put up an honest review. Never, ever go there. Customer service is zero and whoever the manager is on Sunday morning should be fired. He is uneducated and condescending to customer.

As a woman uneducated about car repairs, they stuck me up $5000 over a two month period before I realized what was happening.

When I tried to contact their CORPORATE office and BBB, I quickly learned this location is an international business. Their office is overseas and does not respond. NTB-Duraleigh Road, Raleigh, NC. On May 24th my husband took his car to get brakes at NTB. He was told that he needed a new caliper. The total cost was close to $1k so my husband asked how long would he have before he needed to replace the caliper. He was told he could drive on it for about 3 weeks. My husband paid for the brakes but decided to shop around for another mechanic. On June 5th my husband put his car in the shop to get the caliper done. While his car was in the shop, I went to the same NTB to get an oil change. I was told that my oil change would be $60, however, I came there 3K miles prior and got an oil change for $25.

I told the salesman that NTB completed my last oil change at that exact location and I did not pay more than $25. I expressed that I wanted that same deal. He checked the system and corrected the error. He then attempted to tell me that I needed new air filters for another $60. I expressed that I would rather have those put in elsewhere. I also waited over an hour for the oil change to be complete. After I left NTB I noticed a rattling noise that I did not hear prior to bringing my car in. I immediately called the shop that had my husband's car and asked them to take a look at my car before I go back to NTB. They had an opening for me to bring it in today 6/6/19 and drop it off when we went to pick up my husband's car.

When I arrived we explained to the mechanic that I recently had my oil changed and now my car was making a growling noise. The mechanic immediately said, "I bet they didn't properly put your air filter back on. Let me pop the hood and check it out." Sure enough they left the filter completely exposed and that was what was causing the rattling. During this process the mechanic also informed my husband that he DID NOT need a new caliper and whomever told him that was not being truthful. NTB at this location is full of scamming and manipulation. Stay away!

We needed two new tires, so we bought them at NTB and had the store change them. Due to sheer negligence, none of the lug bolts were tightened after the tires were changed. This is such a basic part of changing tires, and such a basic thing to check for quality assurance. There is no excuse for not tightening bolts after a tire change. My husband was going 70 mph on the highway when he got into trouble. All of the lug bolts either went missing, were warped, or sheared off. The tires rattled. He could have gotten into a very serious car wreck. He was stranded for twelve hours. A tow truck had to come retrieve him and the car. When the Interstate Emergency Services took over and looked at the car, there was extensive damage done to the rims, all of the bolts, and they disassembled the brakes/brake pads because there was damage back there too. All in all, we got stuck with a bill for around $1000 for repairs, parts, and the cost of towing.

Interstate Emergency Services contacted NTB at the corporate level because none of these damages or expenses would have happened if not for their negligence. Corporate said it "wasn't their policy to pay this bill." So, they put an absurd company policy before the life of their customer, and it wasn't until IES gave NTB hell, that they agreed to issue a reimbursement check. We're expecting it on Friday but I'm not even hopeful it will come, given their callous attitude and how they argued against being held accountable for their negligence. We'll be filing a lawsuit if we are not properly reimbursed.

NTB simply has no idea the danger they put us in, the emotional and financial stress of damages done to our car, let alone my husband going through roughly 18 hours of hell between being stranded at night, being towed, waiting for a shop to open in the morning, waiting for all the parts and labor, finding a way to foot the bill until the reimbursement check supposedly comes, and recovering from the scare of two tires rattling so bad he nearly lost control of the car on a highway in Pennsylvania, in mountains with no guard rails. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE ON ALL COUNTS, NTB. Shame on you.

David told me the cap was broken, and felt it could fly off while driving. When I arrived at home, I noticed the driver's side cap had all of the plastic lugs loose. This was a very bad experience, and I have no intentions of doing business with your company again. Looking at the reviews now I see I am not the only one having problems. If I ran my business this way, I would not have a business!!

I don't normally give reviews for companies but the NTB located on Watson Way in Fredericksburg VA left me with absolutely no faith in anyone in that store. One rep actually told me something was wrong with my car but that nothing needed to be done about it at this time. The problem would not hurt my car in any way. I got a second opinion from a loyal friend and realized not only was the rep untruthful in what was wrong but it ended up costing me more because the problem ended up causing more problems. On another matter, even though I have the tire service plan, they've only balance 1 tire at each rotation - not all four. Was told by another NTB that this was plain laziness on their part. I guess the best thing to do is stay away from this store. Second best, get everything said and done in writing and by all means BUYER BEWARE.

I have to say I hate to give a negative review because the staff at the location I have used in Addison, TX are so incredibly polite and friendly. However, I have been there three separate times and have had issues every single time. First off, they NEVER give a correct estimate on how long the job will take. They told me an inspection would take about 45 minutes. It took 90 minutes (and no, it's not because they found anything wrong with the car). An oil change was supposed to take less than an hour and I was there another 90 minutes. Made an appointment to have four new tires put on and they told me 60 - 90 minutes. It took 2 1/2 hours!

I had them install new windshield wipers when they did the oil change and they put the wrong size blades on the car. The first time I used them, they kept getting hung up and I had to go back and get them replaced. I had a flat tire and wound up needing to replace all 4 tires. They put the spare back in the well but didn't bother to fasten it down. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I take it to a Firestone near my office because I keep hearing a noise I can't identify. They showed me what the issue was and fixed it with no charge. I love that they are close and their prices are good but if you never know how long it is actually going to take to perform the services and if they can't even remember to fasten down the spare tire when they put it back in the car, it is just easier to go somewhere else.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! Before I begin, I would like to say that I have brought at least 4 cars to this location. So I take my 1999 Jeep Cherokee in and ask them to check the crankshaft position sensor, a diagnostic charge of about $130 to be added in to any authorized repair. I get a phone call about 3 hours later telling me that I need to replace my alternator and the belt...to the tune of $660.00 plus tax & shop's fees etc. A new alternator costs about $150-$175 for a good one. Jerry tells me that the reason it's so expensive is because of the warranty upcharge...but could not tell me how much the upcharge actually is, and that the warranty cannot be removed???

Additionally they tell me that these repairs need to be done before the original problem can be diagnosed despite the fact that I drove it in just fine. Based on current events I'm estimating that they would have charged me an additional $300-$400 to replace the sensor which is at best a $65 part. WOW!!! NICE TRY!! I'm taking my business elsewhere & I would suggest you readers do the same.

Man replied he didn't know that the control arm was bad and tires are weathered. Sounds like I am paying for his incompetency. Now he proceeded to tell me I have bad struts. That's baloney because I requested an alignment because I have new struts and tie rod ends. As far as weathered tires, alignment are taken from the wheels, not the tires. In short not very impressed, and took a long time. The official response from NTB, "Let me clarify that the lug nuts/studs are not stripped or cross-threaded, they are swollen due to moisture. This is a known issue with Ford vehicles." Goodyear Service confirmed that the lug nuts/studs are in fact stripped due to the service center negligence. I did have to pay for the replacement lugs, as well as the cost to remove stripped lugs. Will start with the positive, the alignment seems fine and the tire was pulled off and installed (minus lug damage) fine.

I brought a car in after a tire blows out on a pothole around 9 am and confirmed with the salesman it would get looked at right away. Just to confirm that it would get looked at scheduled service for 11 am online. At 2 pm called and they had not started looking at the car. From my onboard data system looks like they started looking at the tire around 4 pm. Did not hear from them by around 6:30p so I had to call to get the status, the warranty could have complicated this but still seems long for a flat tire diagnostic.

They did not have the tire I needed but was not a huge deal as I sourced one from Goodyear in Cranberry. The tire was delivered in person to them by 9 am the next day. The car was finished around noon that day. I scheduled a rotation but was not performed due to expanded lug nuts. I know the chrome capped nuts are not friendly. When picking up the car I asked if they just stopped trying to pull the lugs before stripping them and they assured me they did.

While it is true these capped lugs are not the best and do require more TLC, it would be something a professional tire shop should be able to handle. If these FORD or other manufacture capped lugs are that much of an issue you should offer a warning when purchasing service from your locations before stripping the lug nuts. Furthermore, once this mistake was made it would have been nice to see actions taken to resolve the issue rather than deny the actions and hope the customer goes away so you do not have to deal with the issue. Asked them to look at them and resolve the issue but never heard back. Figure at this point I will cut my losses and take it elsewhere or finish the job myself.

The store suggestion, call on phone or visit in person to make an appointment. 2. Store visit for simple oil change and tire rotation takes 2+ hours. This after setting up appointment with them on the phone.

    3. Parts markup 110%. I was told that I will need new brakes. The quote that I was given for aftermarket parts was 110% than what is available online store. 4. Borderline lying. I asked if the parts they will replace are original car manufacturer's and was told yes. I asked repeatedly that if the quote has original car parts and again the gentlemen (won't give his name here) said yes. When I confronted that my car (Benz) does not put Napa rotors and Akebono brake pads, the person admits that it's "...not original but same as original." 5. Poor technical competency. I had oil change on my Benz and the mechanic told me he does not how to reset the oil change message on the dashboard. He is asking me to google and do it myself! The only reason I went to this store is because I bought tires (regret) and have paid for lifetime rotation. I wanted to share my feedback from my appointment in the Saugus location this morning. I was returning to purchase a second set of tires from NTB. I chose the Saugus location this time because the tires that I wanted to purchase were not available in Danvers. I live in Ipswich (16 miles from Saugus) and this was not a more convenient scenario by any means but I was happy to compromise due to the outstanding service I received in the past.

Upon my arrival, I discovered the doors were locked. I called the store location and there was no answer so I moved on to the 800# where the representative also attempted to call the location and manager and had no luck. He was professional and as helpful as he could be. He offered to see if the tires could be shipped to Danvers later today and directed me to customer relations for any complaints. He took my phone number and told me a representative from Danvers would give me a call in 5-10 minutes. Again, not exactly convenient for me given the fact that this is not a quick job causing me to have to have someone follow me so I could drop my truck off while the tires were being replaced. This cost me both time and money.

While waiting for the call, the representative in the Saugus location unlocked the doors so I went inside. I was not greeted. She continued to type on the computer for a minute before saying “can I help you?”. I was not expecting an extravagant apology but a simple apology or explanation would have gone a long way here. I explained to her I was there for my 8:30 appointment (it was now 8:50 and the store was supposed to be open at 7:30). I asked if there was someone in at that time to complete my transaction and she told me she was going to if “I gave her a minute.” I explained to her that considering the circumstances I just wanted to be sure I was not waiting even longer for no reason. She informed me that “she did not start until 9”. Next, her computer would not log in.

While waiting I received the call from Danvers stating they could have the tires by 1:00 today so I requested to keep that appointment because I was uncomfortable and uneasy with the entire experience in Saugus. Again, the Danvers location is commended. When mentioning to a colleague that I was purchasing tires this time, I was referred to Town Fair Tire for better quality Continental tires at a reasonable price. Instead, against my better judgement, I chose to continue my business with NTB. This entire disappointment probably could have been avoided or drastically less severe had the representative in Saugus been pleasant. I do understand that things happen but that does not justify poor customer service. I won’t just “not recommend” NTB in Saugus in the future, I will strongly advise against it.

Why is it real shiny? Because some noob decided to pour oil all over my engine and transmission. I know this only because they didn’t even try to clean it up.

My brand new 6000 mile old transmission which is normally all aluminum and shiny now has FRESH oil sitting on it. In some spots where there are crevices you can actually see pools of oil. Such a bad company to allow someone without minimal skills to touch my 16k vehicle. Guys make sure you go to a reputable shop. Don’t go to Walmart for oil changes and def not this place. They did tons of oil changes fine but it’s this one that mattered. Oil on the motor poses a serious fire hazard risk if you are driving long and parts get hot. It only takes for a few drops of oil to hit the exhaust manifold and your whole car's on fire. Beware.

Now this is suppose to be about a 10-minute job. And an hour and half later I am still sitting in the waiting room. I get up to ask the service desk how much longer and he tells me about another 20 to 30 minutes. This is poor service. Why make an appointment if you have to wait nearly 2 hours to have a 10-minute job done. Why make an appointment if this how a customer gets treated.

I had a flat tire on a tire that was under their warranty. They took it in and put it up on a lift and left it there for 4 hours without touching it. That was 2 weeks ago. Today I had another flat tire. They are open till 7pm, I went to one store and called 2 others. They were open but they were not working on cars. They said they did not have any employees to work. I said, "Why? You are open for 3 more hours." They said people have families, they have lives, they take off from work. Well I have a family too, I am an old woman with a tire with a nail in it. So I guess the road hazard warranty is like this "we will fix it if and when we want." I would rather have anyone work on my car than these people. I hope they go out of business very soon.

Decided to replace run-flat tires with an all season tire, for a smoother ride. Upon leaving my BMW Z4, NTB called me to inform me that the car needed brake replacement and that the battery was low on the meter. When the job was done, I went to pick the car up and started it up, only to find that the work done had caused multiple warning lights to appear lit on the dashboard (tire, ABS, brakes, etc), all that were related to the work that was just done by NTB, CAMFIELD St Charlotte NC.

When I went inside to have this problem corrected, they informed me that the computer had to be reset, but they did not have the tool to do it. The car was inspected a month earlier by them and now I need brakes, battery and when I asked the service writer what the battery’s CCA was, she didn’t know what cold cranking amps were.

Long story short, after driving for 1 hour to the BMW dealer, I was handed a estimate to repair damage that was done at NTB while installation of the brakes that were “needed”. It seems that the sensor next to the brakes was damaged during the service performed and that the battery replaced by NTB is the wrong battery. What started out as just looking for a smoother ride and costing well over $1000, also cost me +$200, to reset the computer and another $1772.89 to replace the sensor that was damaged. After sending the paperwork to customer service (NTB) in Florida, they finally called me, and a representative named George (no last name given) called me and said the damage that was done to the sensor was not related to the work done by NTB. What kind of automobile mechanics does this company hire?

I went to my garage the next day to take the car out and found both new tires flat. Appears, according to the manager that the valve stems were not changed. I was told to bring the tires back, another hour of my time wasted because someone could not do their job properly.

When I took off the left rear wheel, the new weight that been put on, fell off. When I got the tires and wheels back to the job, I had to wait over an hour and a half to the job done right. On top of all that, when looking at my bill, the driver's license is not mine. Sterling service guys. Next time I will wait at your competitor how ever long it takes to get the job done right. All work was supposed to be finished around 6 pm. I called NTB at 5 pm to see how it was going. They did not have car even inside but they told me that they were taking the car in.

After 6 pm I got the call from NTB employee Jessie that they had only two Michelin tires, remaining two were defective. He suggested Sumitomo tires, which I did not know. So I said that I wanted Michelin and if they did not have them I would go for service somewhere else. He said he would order for me two remaining Michelin winter tires. I approved and then waited three days. Then I called to check if the tires came. The men who worked there did not have any phone etiquette. Anyway after one week and no tires I canceled order. I seriously doubt they even ordered them. I ordered new tires at Sears-Auto and the tires were in the shop in two days and put on my car the same week.

Thinking that maybe it was a busier than usual day I decided to give them another chance this past week at a different location for the same services. Again scheduled an appt- again 2 hours waiting. Only this time when I arrived to pick up the vehicle I overheard a conversation between the mechanic and the desk clerk that he didn’t know he was supposed to do a rotation on my vehicle and he really didn’t have time.

The clerk told him that if the “meat” looked ok then not to worry about it. When the clerk realized that it was my vehicle he wanted to take me out to “show” me that the tires were fine and didn’t need rotation. His words “this guy is a master mechanic he would know if they need a rotation”. Nevermind that it’s been 10-12,000 miles since my last rotation. The reason they are wearing even is BECAUSE I don’t allow them to wear before rotating. I don’t know what their policy is regarding appointments vs. walk-ins but it clearly needs to be revamped. There’s a reason customers make appointments! In the end, I paid twice the price of the coupon and didn’t get the rotation - which was included in the coupon. Will not go back.

The car only had 20,000 miles on it and had been driven very carefully with minimal tire wear. Even though she was purchasing the exact same tire that was already on the vehicle, she was convinced to buy two tires rather than one, then in addition to the normal mounting and balancing charges, she was up charged for lifetime balance and rotation, and flat repairs and road hazard warranty for the life of the tire none of which she requested or authorized.

Finally, she was charged for replacement of two TPMS repair kits which do not even exist on this model Honda vehicle (2016 HRV). They then continued to upcharge by replacing the cabin air filters which she also did not request. In the end she paid $545 for what realistically should have been less than $200 for replacement of one tire. Next, they billed me for installation charges to replace battery under warranty. Next, the new battery does not come with a warranty of its own, although it is a new battery. They told me the warranty of old battery will remain valid, which means although they fitted a new battery yesterday, the warranty will be only till beginning of December 2018, which is just one more month! To be fair, I understood that the work was WAY beyond their area of expertise but as a vendor they should tell you that instead of taking the money first. At least refund the payment. For goodness sake, they are a multi-million dollar company taking money from families. They could certainly take the hit more than we could. This letter is to complain about service I recently received from a National Tire & Battery (Merchants) customer service representative named Ari who is an entry level technician who’s been there less than a month. I received a call from National Tire & Battery on 10/20/18 in the afternoon to find out my wheel lock key was missing. I was blamed for not providing the key at the time of warranty service being done on the vehicle. The warranty service that was being done on my vehicle only included a patchwork for a nail, and a rotation/wheel balance.

After I was accused of not providing the wheel lock at the time of service I was told my car would not be repaired today on 10/20/2018. Ari the entry-level technician who’s been there less than a month addresses me on the phone in a very disrespectful manner. I had to explain my problem to him several times because he did not seem to be listening and therefore asked me the same questions repeatedly. Ari shows no customer service skills when it comes to addressing an upset customer about a situation that did not need to be escalated. Ari who’s been there less than a month was very rude and disgusting while handling the situation on the phone. He used a hostile tone when handling my request not understanding the fact why I was upset. I explained to him numerous times that my wife who dropped off my car at 2 pm provided the wheel lock.

She explained to Julie the store manager three times that my wheel lock was in the vehicle. The front desk representatives seem to be confused regarding where my wheel lock has been placed. After the disturbing call from Ari, I had put my shoes on and got ready to have my friend Rushabh drive me to pick up my vehicle. At this point I was very upset knowing my lock was in my car the night before and now suddenly missing again. This happened already once at the same location when I got my tires installed where the front desk personnel lost the key.

I was not upset the first time as it was the first case incident I had with dealing with this location. I’m fighting with my wife now trying to figure out if the wheel lock was lost by her. When I get to the location around 3:30 pm the technician name Fermelis advises me that my wheel lock was found. Keep in mind no one has called me while I am heading over to the location to notify me of the mistake.

Being an upset customer and being told his lock was not provided at the time of service in which it was while handling the behavior with Ari was very unprofessional. I practically believed my wife was at fault and this location was telling me the truth in the matter. It was Ari who misplaced the key but wouldn’t explain where he located it. When we arrived at the location, Ari did not want to speak with me during the incident. He was hiding in the service bay claiming that he did not have any time since he was working on a vehicle.

Ari at this point is demonstrating poor communication skills when dealing with customer who is upset about a situation he caused from the beginning. When waiting around trying to locate who the entry level technician named Ari was at the time of arriving at the Woodfield location. My friend spotted him in the back and confronted him outside while he was playing busy. A question was asked to Ari where the wheel lock was misplaced. Ari’s response “are you really going to come at me this way”. Ari demonstrated poor customer service skills again in person with my friend Rushabh.

I felt a high level of disrespect with the poor response given from Ari. He never once apologized for his mistake regarding the matter and only ignited the tension he brought between my wife and me. Since Ari was showing poor accountability for his mistake we spoke only with Fermelis. We could not even get two words in without Ari interrupting us by standing behind Fermelis instigating the situation. He continued to start a rant which led up a loud scene, at this time. I did not use any words towards Ari due to his incompetence in lack of professionalism in this situation. I called Ari an idiot to Fermelis who I was dealing with at the time where Ari overheard and continued to become combative at this point.

I never yelled nor used any violent words to cause Ari to feel uncomfortable. He only became more childish at this point and continued a lengthy and difficult struggle to battle Rushabh and myself. We only wanted to deal with Fermelis due to his professionalism the whole time during the experience. Ari was so challenged mentally for his mistake that he had made so he stuck around the whole time when speaking with Fermelis. He wanted to overhear every part of the conversation that we had and caused a noisy disturbance.

Ari stated he is a manager which two other employees in that location stated he is not. Ari at this point resembles a compulsive liar and continues to become more like a kid when handling this conversation. He pointed out that Rushabh is acting like a 5-year-old and that I was not reasonable when speaking with him. Keep in mind, Ari never once came over to speak with us in a professional way about the situation.

My friend and I waited over after 6:00 pm when the shop was closed to get my vehicle out. The official time when the vehicle was brought to me was at 6:30 pm. Ari did reach out to his manager Julie on the occasion and explained to her his side of the story with not even asking us what our side was. Julie the manager at this location never spoke with us or asked for our side of the story but made a decision on her own. Julie’s unprofessional decision was to kick us out of the shop which was around before 6 pm from when the shop closes. She was not present at the shop when everything took place but assumed that we should no longer be waiting in the building from what Ari advised her.

She must have thought we were a threat in which she decided on kicking us out. While the vehicle is being serviced my friend Rushabh and I are waiting in the cold for completion of the vehicle around 6:40 pm. Keep in mind the vehicle was only under warranty work which the drop off was at 2 pm and ended up leaving out of the store around 6:40 pm. This is very unprofessional and extremely rude behavior that your establishment is running. I have never received such poor service ever in my life with the way this situation was escalated. I am writing to you with regards of feedback and compensation due to what a customer goes through under a new establishment called NTB.

I really believe that Ari and Julie are poorly skilled in the position they uphold and need to be properly trained to succeed in this field. I have been dealing with customer service for over 25 years in all positions I have had in the past. Never once in my life have been treated like this ever. I will be escalating this case up the chain and will never return to this location again for my needs. I will also cancel my NTB credit card with you all to show you I will never do business with such unprofessional and disrespectful management team. If you take my advice, the Gaithersburg location is in desperate need of restructuring of a new management team that takes the time to listen to one’s complaints.

I expected a much higher level of service from your company, and I am quite disappointed. For such a popular company like NTB taking over Merchants you would think the management team be professionally trained in the areas in which are critical. In this case this location has lost my trust with you all due to the horrible experience I encountered on Saturday. Whatever happened to the phrase “the customer is always right”? When did we start treating people poorly by their color and how do you kick out customers from your building when they are paying your salaries.

These are huge critical conditions that really need attention at this moment. I also want to address why you have a technician claiming to be an onsite manager laughing about the matter and continually pointing out “You will not a get a refund” “there is no compensation for your time lost” and just plain laughing when kicking you out of the building. Why I did not fight with the words being used was I was in no way to be acting at his level at this point. We have a serious matter here folks in regards to the employees you hire and how they are trained to assist with problems when they created them in the first place.

    Key Points:
    1. Ari is very rude and disrespectful when dealing with customer service complaints.
    2. Ari has a hard time listening to the concerns vs battling with the customer for HIS faults.
    3. Ari’s negative body language and lack of communication resemble poor advertisement to NTB.
    4. A couple of technicians I spoke with today (10/02/2018) agreed that Ari is not profession at all.
    5. Julie shows lack of trust with demonstrating poor management skills by kicking out customers she has not spoken with not being present.
    6. Why was my car not taken in priority for the mistake that was on your behalf? Why was I the last customer to leave your shop at 6:40pm for your mistake?

    7. Why was I harassed by your acting manager (Ari)?

They are refusing to take responsibility based on receiving "the stored history of the vehicle's repairs" rather than current, updated information. IT SHALL BE NOTED that a "simple tire rotation" SHOULD NOT damage the speed sensor; however IT IS POSSIBLE because of where the sensor is located. When I asked him if he can please replace the tire, very negative almost like he didnt want to service my truck, then I told him That I didnt bring the lugnuts lock obviously I couldn't go all the way home, and he start laughing and said he couldnt do it without the key (we all know shops got their way to a key rim to get the lugnuts out when they want it).

Then I asked if I could leave the truck in there for a couple of hrs after they leave as I had to get a ride and come back and I may not make it on time before they close, and I may have to take the tire out myself, bring it to get it repair to another shop that would be open and come back to get my truck and go home, he said I couldnt do that because It may get towed, shop is in a little mall... After all the trouble he gave me on top he charge me all the possible extras fees for one tire $55 tire price went up to $81.68 and no; no road hazard or life balancing or rotation at all... Took my truck in for a simple coolant leak. They charged me 250$ to replace the upper hose which takes 5 minutes. I didn’t mind paying to make sure it was done right... Huge mistake because 2 days later my truck was making a knocking noise, stalled out. So immediately I popped the hood, checked my radiator fluid level which was completely empty!!! NTB paid for tow to their shop to tell me I blew the head gasket!!!

They told me it wasn’t their fault... What a joke... The regional manager screened my calls and didn’t return any of the calls I made to him which was about 50. They sent in an insurance adjuster of their choice just to tell me they’re not at fault. Make a long story short a simple repair turned into a ruined vehicle. I have 4 young daughters and a wife that depends on me to provide for them and this was my only form of transportation in the line of work I do. Extremely upset, aggravated, and angry at the same time, just praying the lord will provide me with another truck so I can take care of my family! Thanks NTB! Great service!!!

Decided to call the next morning and they said it was ready. Picked it up the next day. Was looking out the window of the house and noticed something hanging down under the front of the car. Went out to take a look. This vehicle has a cover that lays under the engine up front. It was not fastened to the chassis on the passenger side. Two bolts should be holding this up. I assume they had to remove this for the oil change? Get up the next morning to take it back to them and it won't start. Have lights but engine won't crank. Called them and basically there's nothing they can do. I have to drive it to them or pay for a tow to get it to them. This is unacceptable to me. I will never do business with NTB again!

I went to NTB in Raleigh to get quotes for changing my tires. I was surprised to see the extra fees appended to the quote which were outrageous. In Costco or Discount Tires, there is a single installation charge per tire and government taxes & fees which includes lifetime balance and rotations. For NTB, there are mount & install charge, one time balance fee, lifetime rotations of tires fee, TPMS repair fee (which is weird as you don't see it in others), tire disposal charge, etc. They sum up to be almost twice more expensive than others for basic installation that does not include the lifetime balance and rotation. The installation that includes lifetime balance & rotation (they call it Value Installation Package) ends up to 4 or 5 times more expensive than the competitors. I don't understand how they are still in business unless customers are ignoring to look at the details of their bills.

My mechanic would have charged half that amount, assuming the alternator in a 5 year old Toyota with 84,000 miles was bad to start with. I’ll always wonder if the sensor was left unplugged intentionally. Staff was very friendly, but they apparently saw a single female coming and took advantage. So my mom and I went to NTB to get my tires replaced with new ones and my dad set an appointment online and asked if they had a lifetime warranty for the tires and they said it would be given with the tires installation for no charge so my mom signed the paper thinking it would be given to us with the tire installation. So after we waited two hours (including another 45 extra minutes just waiting for our name to be called to pay) we asked to make sure that the lifetime warranty came with the tires and they said "no you didn't put that in your online reservation saying you wanted a lifetime warranty and each tire would cost another $14 for lifetime warranty" and so my mom called my dad asking to speak with the person we were talking to now and immediately he called out his rude manager to talk to my dad.

My dad accused him of lying because when he called them and asked if the tire installation came with a lifetime warranty, they said yes with no cost. And now the manager got mad and didn't let my dad finish what he had to say by saying "Sir, sir, sir we aren't liars, everything here is automatically priced sir. I don't know what you're complaining about" and he just hung up on my dad and since we had to pay extra for the lifetime warranty we just decided to pay for the tire installation since my dad already bought the tires online.

WHILE WE WERE STILL THERE PAYING the manager grabs the worker who stood in front of us and yelled "next time CIRCLE the PRICE so that people don't accuse us of lying because I don't even know what he was complaining about" and since my mom and I are Korean I guess they assumed we didn't understand English because the manager just started talking ** about us in front of us saying "Look I don't even know why they're complaint because SHE already signed the paper and it has the PRICE on THERE". I was just thinking we were genuinely confused so we asked why it didn't come with lifetime warranty since a worker here at NTB said that it came with the tire installation for no cost and now they were saying it cost extra so there was no need for rude attitude.

They could've handled it better by saying "oh I'm so sorry sir but I guess our worker was misinformed because the lifetime warranty costs extra" and maybe they should actually listen to their customer before cutting them off and maybe they'll understand what we're complaining about. I honestly wanted to say something back to the manager but talking back to someone who is as stupid as he is would be like talking to a brick wall. They have rude service, the wait time is overly long, they price you for anything and if you're not a certain race they'll most likely take you for granted.

His help was standing next to his truck 75 feet from me smoking and neither would help. I know they closed in 12 minutes but to refuse service is not very fair. I then ask if I could borrow a jack and tire tool to get the tire off where I could take it somewhere else and was told no. They waited until 8 PM and walked right by me and said nothing. I've used NTB for years because the prices and services seemed reasonable. My latest trip to replace a car battery changed that. My car is one of those that inexplicably have the battery under the front wheel. Battery replacement requires a car lift, wheel and fender-well cover removal, yada yada. I got charged the fee for the new battery, and the fee for old removal/new installation --- all well. Then, there was a sneak charge of $100.00 to test the charging system.

I think it's just sound mechanics to check the charging system in the event of battery failure. But, it's far more important for a business to charge only for things the customer wants done. If the shop wants to check that the alternator is charging, have at it and thanks. But don't charge me $100 for a "favor" I didn't ask for, authorize or even knew was being done. Checking that the system is charging only involves placing an ammeter in series with either battery terminal, which are already disconnected anyway since the battery is being replaced! Nope; don't think I'll ever be seen at NTB again.

Later in the morning they came back and said I needed over $1500.00 of work done on the front brake system to fix the brake light issue. They said I needed new brake drums, calibers, brake pads, system flush... Because the brake light was coming on before I went to them, I had replaced my front pads myself a few months before and didn't see any problems with the brake assemblies when I checked them myself. I reluctantly agreed to NTB agreement and signed to begin work.

When they finished all the work they told me to pay. I did and left the office. I crank the truck and the light came on in the parking lot. I called complaining and they said they could not get the light to go off and I should call Ford. I told them they charged me and the issue was still there and I wanted it fixed. They took it back in the next day and said they would replaced the master cylinder. But, the light was still coming on afterwards and they said they was not going to do anything else.

I called NTB Customer service and was assigned Mrs. ** and was told to take the truck to Ford, have it inspected to verify the brake light cause and the issue would be settled. I took it to Ford and they said it was a electrical issue and fixed it for $198.00. Ford also said the front wheel bearings were damaged and needed replacement. Another cost of around $400.00. After sending Ford's information over to Mrs. ** at NTB customer service, she began to dispute Ford's finding, criticizing the written estimate and saying NTB did nothing wrong. NTB failed to identify the real cause of the brake light issue, repaired and replaced the wrong components and is not taking responsibility. I will not recommend NTB. They will put on tires that you don't even ask for and when you ask to have them change they want extra money. I will not recommend this place for anybody because you'll get ripped off.

In taking my car to NTB in Matthews, NC I already completed my research on the cost of an oil change. My car take 6 Quarts of oil so knowing it would be an extra $4 I asked the uneducated service guy if it was only $4 more per quarter. His answer was, "Something like that". LOL, the idiot doesn't even know his own prices. Anyways, as they pull my car into the service garage I start to read online reviews about NTB and to my surprise (at that moment) they have terrible reviews.

So I moved and sat at a table where I could see my car. The whole time watching the so-called mechanic change my oil. He kept looking at me like he was up to something. After adding fresh oil to my car he had another mechanic verify the dipstick for oil level. WTH? He doesn't know how to read a dipstick? Anyways, they were suppose to check all my other fluids and complete a tire rotation for free but after reading the reviews I don't want them to touch anything else on my car. For a $33 oil change I will go back but for nothing else.

I told them I wanted my old tires back, the assumption on my part was a balance, they sold me road hazard and an alignment without asking. The service manager Eion tried to tell me that the front camber in my car is out of spec and not adjustable. I told him it was and how to do it, (I looked it up and I'm a FORMER A.S.E. certified Mechanic with 25 years exp) it didn't get done although I paid full price. When I got home with my old tires I noticed I was charged $12.00 disposal fee, for what? When I removed the 2 tires from my trunk I noticed that I NOW have a $250.00 BENT amateur Radio Antenna. I have been to NTB originally to have my brakes, rotors and new tires. Within one year they told me I need brake pads and new rotors. They told me it was because a brake caliper was stuck on and I was using my brakes all the time while driving. So I had both replaced again. First time I had them done cost me over 900$ dollars. The second time I supposedly got free brake pads and they had my car for two hours. I was also charged 110$ per hour labor and I was charged two hundred and 220! for one job and there was a second person that worked on the calipers so I was charged labor for him so this job also cost me over 900$ despite free brake pads.

It is less than a year and I’m bringing my car to the dealership because I think there is something wrong with my brakes again. I also bought all season tires from them and the tread was worn and needed to be replaced after just over 10,000 miles and they are supposed to be warrantied for 50,000 miles. I was told I would get a partial credit for the tires to be replaced and I would still be charged 110$ per hour for labor. And of course I watched them work on my car and they took their sweet ** time on my car and moved like slugs because they get paid for hourly on each job. Must have made some nice money on my job taking 2 hours to do this work which I have seen it done in way less time as this. And to top it off when I called and spoke with a customer person to complain I said they were ripping me off and just hung up on me. THEY ARE DISHONEST AND THIEVES, if I could give them negative stars I would and I every person not to go there!!!

I know what they did was use the air wrench on those plastic lug nuts that hold it on. Then in August I stopped at location in North Houston at FM1960 and asked for an oil change. The manager actually refused to change my oil. His excuse was there was a small amount of oil stain on the oil pan. After these 2 incidents, I will not use NTB for anything in the future.

Then a brake job a couple of months later. I still only had 50,000 on my car when the tread on all 3 tires I got from NTB separated. Awkward. Screaming mfg defect and very dangerous. The 3 tires were less than a yr and still in warranty. I was told I needed struts on rear where one original tire and one NTB tire were. I had to buy 4 new tires plus more warranty thing. They only gave 1/2 credit on the 3 tires then the audacity to charge fees for balancing and mounting plus lifetime mounting in the replacement tires. Over $1200 to get my car back!

They should have replaced at least 2 tires free with free mount and balancing, half off one tire with free mount and balancing under the warranty. Given me my military discount on the 4th tire charged to mount and balance it. Military discount on the struts and I would gladly pay to warranty the 4 new tires. But what is the point of paying extra for warranty when they don't replace tires with obvious manufacture defects that could cost me my life.

The warranty was still good as it was for the life of the tire. When I called about getting the tire replaced with the warranty I was told the price was $207.00 for a tire that only cost $66 a piece when I bought them. The only thing I added to this was a tire pressure monitoring system for $65.00. They told me that this price was before deductions but couldn't or wouldn't tell me how much was being deducted. I am not the smartest person around but even I know that $207.00 for a tire that cost $66.00 was ridiculous. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a tire for about 110.00 with a new tire pressure monitoring system stem and I got all the same warranty on the tires. I will never shop at NTB again.

In September, 2017 I took my car to NTB in Decatur, GA for my maintenance tire rotation for tires purchased through this company. I was assured by the store clerk they had “the best man” at this location for the service (although this statement was not prompted by me). On October 16, 2017 I took my car to my private mechanic for a metal scraping sound I had heard for two days. My mechanic took off the tires and called me immediately to the service area as the mechanics looked on to show me that my TIRES HAD BEEN ROTATED INCORRECTLY!!! The mechanic at the NTB Decatur location placed the tires side to side instead of front to back. My mechanic educated me on which way the wheels’ arrows should point on the tires when rotated CORRECTLY!!!

I immediately called the Decatur, GA location and spoke to a customer service rep who stated he would alert the manager who would definitely return my call. Ha!! I haven’t heard from anyone. Meanwhile, I called the corporate number and spoke to a customer care specialist, Je **, who stated that NTB wants to take care of their customers and listened to my complaint and would await my info about possible damage to my car after my mechanic briefed me. I told her I would call back. She sounded concerned and willing to take care of the situation.

Fast forward to today, Oct.17,2017... The customer care specialist called back today from the corporate office. I’m thinking good sign. I returned her call and stated that my personal mechanic rotated the tires correctly and did not charge me for that part of the service as he “was glad that no damage happened and prides himself on taking care of his customers.” She listened with her “reflective listening skills” to assure me she was listening. She offered NTB’s affirmation that it wants to take care of their customers. She offered a free oil change coupon. I declined with the understanding that if they can’t put tires on correctly I wouldn’t trust an oil change. She then offered that when I take my car back for the 5,000 mile rotation she could call the location of my choice to take “good care” of me as a valued customer. I queried that isn’t this something they should do??

She asked what she could do. I stated $20 for the inconvenience. She stated that she didn’t think she could do that. She then asked if she could help with anything else. I assured her she didn’t help and my reviews through this site, various customer information sites, and letters will reflect my experience with NTB. Buyer beware!!

I'm not one to complain, normally. But I just can't let this go... I don't believe NTB trains their technicians properly. In my past three experiences: First, I was polite, calm, and professional up until my most recent communication with them. Honestly, I was pretty hot at this point. 1. Bought four tires at a Plano, TX location. Left my truck there for 6 hours. Picked it up, jumped on the highway and not one single wheel had been balanced. Had to go back in the following day. When I went in the service guy was rude and acted like I was crazy. He later admitted he did not know what happened with my truck and that every wheel was in fact, out of balance. 2. OK- my thought, all are entitled to an off day now and then. Needed tires and went back to a different NTB in Lewisville, TX because I really like this particular set of Cooper tires that they carry exclusively. Bought 2 back tires.

Serviceman offered an alignment for $89. I thought, sure, it's not out of alignment but it had been two years so I'll get it checked. How long will it take? Answer - 45 minutes additional time. So, they quoted me a time of 1:45 minutes to change two tires and do an alignment. 4 hours later, my truck is finally done. Serviceman says the toe was way out on the right side. Mind you, I had perfectly even tread wear at the time. Steering was great and had no issues. They made a huge adjustment in the toe and suggested that I had done some front end work recently. No I had not had any work done and I keep my vehicles in good mechanical condition. On to the work -They pulled my truck right in and went to work. The technician was slow, uninterested, and seemed in over his head for this task as I'm watching off and on between phone calls. After being there 4 hours, I had appointments to get to and places to be.

I was preparing to take this vehicle on a trip on Monday hence the need for tires. Immediately upon leaving the store, the steering wheel is way off of center. I wanted to go right back in, but I has already wasted half a day and they had other vehicles coming in. I pulled into the parking lot for my meeting and the steering wheel rolled over too easy to the left. (I would later figure out it was doing this because it was so out of toe). In fact, it was so out of toe, you could see it without even needing to put it on a machine. Adding to the frustration, there is a dent in my truck bed above the wheel well of one of the tires they replaced. I called the shop that afternoon, no answer. I called NTB customer service, no answer. It was around 5 pm. I logged a message online for "contact us" saying I had some issues to discuss. I wanted to document my concerns before the weekend. No response the next Monday.

I leave for my trip and check my front tires part of the way. The wear is awful on the outside of both front tires 3 days after the alignment. I call NTB customer service and they recommend I take it back to NTB. The problem is, I'm out of town in a remote area with no Tire Kingdom facility anywhere near. Front two tires are already ruined 500 miles after the alignment. I take pictures of the tire wear, steering wheel, and dent and email them to the customer service folks to document the problem. I reach my destination and park the vehicle for 5 days to not cause any more wear. NTB suggest I take the vehicle to Big O tires when I reach the closest city that has one (An NTB/Tire Kingdom company). One problem, I'm returning on a Sunday. Nothing open. 200 miles back into my trip home, I'm having to change to a spare because the metal cords are showing on the outside of the tire.

Then, an new gift appears - TPMS sensor goes off telling me to service my tire pressure monitoring system. The one not reading - one of the new tires. Driver's side wear is worse than passenger side and this is the side they made this huge adjustment on. I make it home stressed that I'm going to have a blowout on either front tire. Three tires ruined - Both front tires and the spare. I'm fuming over the botched job and level of incompetence. I calm down, remain polite and contact NTB again and inform them that I'm back and can take it to get it looked at but would prefer another store because I'm upset with the folks at the other store and would like to start new. I don't trust the operators or the equipment/readings of the alignment machine in the Lewisville location. So, I head to a different store.

    3. Grapevine, TX store - take the vehicle in and they are immediately skeptical. The store manager comes out and talks to the service guy at the front. Does not look at me, speak to me or say a word to me. They take my truck back to "shake it down". They are not giving me any answers but they are working on it and it is obvious it is messed up. I gave them the original alignment paperwork and point out the huge adjustment that was made. Roughly 45 minutes later, the manager goes out to the truck, grabs the paperwork, goes to his office and jumps on the phone. I'm in earshot of his office door. I can see him on the phone flipping through the paperwork from my truck. He knows I can hear his conversation, so he closes the door. I speak to the serviceman up front. He was plenty nice but not offering any information.

I said to him, so, "clearly, I'm not a moron, something is way off right?" He nervously says yes and says they are still checking it out. Once again, I've got to be somewhere, so my wife picks me up and I leave. I call NTB customer service. They have to call me back. They speak to the store and what do you know... It was way out of toe. The adjustment the Grapevine store needs to make is back to within 6 one-hundredths of where it was originally. The customer service lady tells me that it was in alignment when I left the Lewisville store because the paperwork said so. This has all taken place in less than two weeks. The store manager who never talked to me, never listened to my concerns, would not even look at me told the customer service lady that I did something to knock it out of alignment. Meanwhile, there are multiple forms of communication and documentation (phone calls, emails, online forms) of the problems from day one.

You are really going to try to tell me that I hit something and it was out almost the exact same amount of the adjustment that they made when I had no previous problems. NTB's solution - 25% off of a new set of tires. Why should I pay for their clear mistake? Does common sense not apply anymore? Aren't the odds greater that they screwed it up given the facts vs me hitting something and knocking out of alignment almost exactly to the faulty adjustment the Lewisville store made? (Which, I hit nothing, by the way). You put me and my family at risk with a botched job and unqualified technicians or faulty equipment. I don't accept it. They were going to have a supervisor call me ASAP. One day later, I'm still waiting for that call and my truck sits at NTB Grapevine. They won't acknowledge the mistake and still insist I caused the problem. We have not even addressed the TPMS fault, the dent, or the off-center steering wheel.

Good Grief this company is MESSED up. I don't suggest that anyone do business with this company. Everyone has bad days, but this is three different locations. There is something really wrong in the processes or culture of this organization. They are going to get somebody seriously hurt. It's not worth the risk or the time involved to do business with NTB/Tire Kingdom. I will add receipts to this report when I get my truck back. Unfortunately, I left them with store. I wanted them to see the original big adjustment made. I don't know where to take this from here, but I'm prepared to spend as much time as necessary purely on principle and to try to make sure other consumers are not affected in the same way.

I'm sure this happens frequently to folks who may not know much about cars. It's dishonesty, at this point and I don't understand what the motivation is to rectify this ASAP other than them being concerned about admitting fault and fixing the alignment, replace the tires, straighten the steering wheel, and a discussion about how to handle that mystery dent.

I don't think these people at NTB near the Mall in Orland Park, Illinois know about how to disclose all the information that customers asks. They are very sneaky and will cost you a lot if you don't do your research when you go there. If you ask for a tire change around 100 bucks a tire, they will sneak in every possible thing that you can imagine in your bill plus their shop fee. WHAT THE HELL IS SHOP FEE? Why are we paying for their shop utility. I thought I did a good research and know what tires I was gonna buy. It was Cooper GLS touring for 106 bucks a tire with 50 dollar mail in rebate. I was like "Wow ok. It has 50 bucks mail in rebate which will lower my tire price to 95 bucks."

So I went there and first asked for any promotion going. The guy just clicked his dumbass 70s screen and popped out a 900 bucks out of door number. I just laughed and corrected all his extras. Then I asked from Cooper GLS touring tire and specifically asked if it comes with 50 dollar rebate. He said it does and all. There you go - I was like "Yes I got this guy." So, I changed the tires and my bill was around 600 bucks because I did not put in any of insurance or free tire balancing or crap like that. The rule of thumb is if you haven't had any breakdown on tires for at least 3 years then chances are you will not have anytime soon and taking these insurance is just money down the drain.

Anyways long story short, I got my tires replaced and at the time of payment, I asked what to do for 50 dollar rebate. Oh the guy smiled and said "You should use your Cooper credit card to get that 50 bucks rebate." I was like "You **, why didn't you tell me earlier. Now I have to run my credit score to open a freaking Cooper credit card which I will not use for another tire change after 5 years."

I was thinking on my way back after leaving NTB that even though you think you are going to outsmart the guy behind counter, he is always a step ahead of you. First of all, he did not say that I had to apply for a credit card in order to get that 50 bucks rebate. He just said "oh ya there is a rebate". Either he didn't know or did not want to tell me. This issue is not about 50 bucks but the guilt of getting cheated is what frustrated me to write this complaint.

My tire was flat which is not uncommon. I don't drive the car much and it has been very hot. The low pressure came on yesterday after sitting for a few days. I thought I had enough time to wait until Saturday. When I went to get in the car, the rear right was flat. I call my roadside assistance company. Once the guy took the tire off. We both inspected the tire for possible nails or other debris. We painstakingly went over each side of the tire. We both ran I hands across each portion, inside and out. There was nothing sticking out of the tire on either side. This occurred on Saturday, July 22nd at approximately 3:00 pm at Store address 8435 Davis Lake Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28269 Ph 704.509.9107. The service tech said he could not find anything and suggested that I have it inspected as there was no foreseeable reason that the tire was flat. I explained to him that I don't drive it much. He indicated that it may be because of the heat.

I take it to NTB and asked if they would inspect the tire. I did not tell the representative that the tire had been thoroughly inspected. About 10 minutes of having my car in the bay, he comes to get me and tells me that he found a metal object just sitting there plain as day. I looked at him and said that is impossible. I asked him how it got there and he said it was in plain view. He saw it immediately and said that it could not be fixed because it was on the inside and I would have to buy a brand new tire. I stopped short of calling him a bold face liar because he had no idea that 2 sets of eyes had just gone over this tire inside and out before bringing it to him, but I did tell him I was very skeptical because I and the service technician that took the tire off went over every inch and could not find anything, certainly not anything sticking up as far as that piece of metal was sticking up.

You would have had to be blind and had no feelings in your hands to have missed that. I rubbed every inch of that filthy tire with my bare hands (the tech had on gloves) all the way around inside and out. I asked the NTB rep if he could explain to me how it got there, he said, he didn't know. I told him that piece of metal was not in my tire when I pulled up and gave him my key. I had seen something like this on TV years ago, but never thought I would become a victim of it. I told him to put my doughnut back on because I did not believe him and that I may have to buy a new tire because of this, but NTB would not profit from it.

I found a Discount Tire approximately 6 miles away and took it to them. While there, I begin reading the reviews for this company and it seems that they run scams on the customers frequently. I will never use NTB again. That guy thought I was just a stupid female and he could pull anything over on me and I would believe it. The reason I had the service Tech from USAA go over the tire with me was to find a nail. There is no way both of us missed a piece of metal sticking up approximately one inch from the tire.

I do not have an order number as inspecting the tire is free and I refused to buy a tire and was not offered any paperwork and Discount Tire now has the old tire. When Discount Tire tested the tire, the only slash made was by the piece of metal that NTB planted in my tire. I want NTB to pay me for having to replace a tire that just lost pressure and was perfectly fine until their representative decided to poke a hole in my tire that was not there.

The reason - they did not have my tires in stock (how disappointing for the customer). I was told that it would take couple of days to bring the tires in (no discount offered). First of all, the tires that I decided on were shown "in stock" at the time of online reservation. Second of all, if you didn't have the tires, the process of ordering my tires should have started the second I made the appointment online. Tremendous waste of time. That was my first and my last time dealing with NTB.

NTB Tire and Service Centers, 8601 N. MoPac, Austin, Texas - Made an appointment, when I arrived, there was no record of the appointment or the tires that I ordered. The sales person wasn't at work. I left. The salesman called later and said that the tires were delayed, no apology for coming in for no reason. I made an appointment for the next day. I arrived at my scheduled time. I was not on their appointment list. The salesman was not there. He arrived a few minutes later. Finally, got my truck in for the installation. It took over 2 and half hours for them to finish. I believe they screwed up and tried to work me in with everyone else since most of that time it just sat in the bay. They need to improve their customer service. As far as I know the work was OK - time will tell.

I picked up a nail just inside the inner tread and took it to NTB to get it fixed since I bought the tire there and a road hazard warranty. The manager of the place looks at it and says it can't be fixed because it's too close to the sidewall. But, under the road hazard warranty, he can sell me a tire and give me a credit for my tire. He inspects the tread and says it has very little tread left (uh - the tire has less than 15,000 miles on it). So he can "honor" their warranty for a net cost of about $60. Nice try CROOK - I took it to a competitor who patched it up in less than 10 minutes. Guess who will be getting my business now?

I know they have a bad rep and they don't care. But this was the nearest place. They had to order the part. The mechanic was nice. But it's like the managers or guys upfront didn't acknowledge the issues. They did not say they were sorry, or offer a discount. Like they offer to 4 other people that come in AFTER me. They charge me for brake fluid. It was full. I checked it last night. All I need needed was the Pads and Disc.

My debit card is new. I show him the money come out of the account. I can pull it on my phone. When he had a problem put it through. "It must be an old card." No it's new. (I have had a problem with it). I didn't say that. But, I pride myself, on always paying my bills. And my Tithing. I know there is a stereotype with women of **. So I Showed him, That it Did Go Through. Like there is a MISTRUST of NTB.

I had to ask for a discount. He say he didn't know. He didn't put me in the system. But he give me 5%. Am thankful for that. $615.42 to $597.76. As I was leaving he was say to the other guy. "I know she's going to complain online". If customer get treat right they don't complain. They come back. I didn't say anything, I was polite. I know how these places work. But if you were talking to everyone else and offering them discounts: Why not l do the right thing. This was a very hurtful experience. Like I wasn't a really personal. But my Money was real. They even put my name in wrong with someone else email. Well, if I still have a job, and pay rent and other bills. Heavenly Father will get the glory in Jesus name. NTB on Reisterstown Road of Owings Mills MD took advantage of my sister who is emotionally challenged and a senior citizen. Bottom line a $480.00 bill became $1,925 one. She needed new tires and because I live in another state, I selected the precise tires made arranged and appointment with this NTB. They told me the bill would be $480.00. I asked the sales person to be kind to Eve and that she lacked ego strength and would need guidance. They guided her right into a 1,925.00 bill! They went over her vehicle with a fine tooth comb and suggested work above and beyond new tires. I could have lived with an alignment and ball joints but they went beyond... tune up, power steering flush, fuel system flush.

My sister's income is $10,400 a year. When I called them to discuss the bill, the salesman said "We do not screen customers for income." Surely I understood this... but my mistake was I made them aware of her vulnerabilities and mental state and they totally exploited her. Thank you for allowing me to vent. I will ensure that the Reisterstown and Owings Mills MD area will be aware of the parasitic nature of their local NTB... and I will not step foot in another one to conduct business myself. I hope they choke on the increased sales and revenue that they reap from what I see as unfair sales tactics on the challenged, elderly, and people who have limited knowledge of automotive mechanics.

I will never go here again. I went there to get a tire replaced, tires rotated and a new battery. Worst mistake of my life! I left and when I got down the road I noticed my car was shaking when I drive so I called and told them. I was told that it had to "settle" and to give it a while. Weeks later on a Friday it was still doing the same thing so I called and told them and I was told to bring it back. They looked it over after hours and I was told it needed a wheel hub assembly. So I went and bought the part because they told me to and they put it on. When I got down the road, not only was it still shaking, but while braking it made a grinding noise and the brake was clicking as I pressed it. I immediately took it back. They looked over it again and told me once again that it had to "settle" and that if it hadn't stopped by Monday to bring it back.

It was still doing it by Monday so I called them back and asked when was a good time to bring it. The manager said, "I don't know why they told you that because he's not here." So the next day I called again and the manager said,"Well, he's about to go home in 30 minutes." I said, "please this is the only vehicle I have and I use it to go to work." He said, "Well if you can get here in 15 minutes I'll see if he can look at it." So when I got there, and they FINALLY got to my car they told me that they thought it was the wheel beringer on the other side because someone had wrapped the cords around something and that they wanted to do another diagnostic. So I left my truck there. When they finally called me the next day they told me that the part I bought had a bad sensor so they took the sensor off my old part, put it on the new one and put it back in my car.

When I went to pick it up, I was relieved. The manager said, "I test drove it, the mechanic drove it and it drives like a dream!" More like a nightmare!!! The grinding and brake had stopped acting up, but the shaking was worse! I deciding not to go back up there and just called customer support and made a complaint. He called the store and basically the manager told all kind of lies so I was told to take it back and get another diagnosis. I told him I was worried about taking it back there since I had complained on them so we agreed to take it to another location. I did and I signed paperwork and the mechanic told me that they would find out what the problem was and they would call me before doing any work. The result I got back was shocking!!! The mechanic there told me that they misdiagnosed my problem big time. I had bolts missing and my front drive shaft was gone!

Then I was told that if I wanted it fixed it would be an extra $380 because they would give me credit for the part and labor that I had recently paid for. I called the customer service rep that I had talked to and he told me that he had already put the part on and I told him that I couldn't afford that. So they took the part back off and it took me days to get my truck back. The end result ending up being that they would only give my money back for the labor and not the part because I didn't get it from them. But they were the ones that told me to go get it from somewhere else because it would be cheaper to do so. They also offered me a $50 royalty card but I didn't take it because I'm NEVER going back there again. I WISH SOMEONE WOULD START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR PETITION AGAINST THEM BECAUSE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THESE PROBLEMS.

I was told that the brakes were dangerous, the shocks were bad and I don't remember what else. I told them to put the tires on, give me a list of repairs and I would take it to my personal mechanic. They also failed my inspection. My mechanic told me that the only thing that he could find wrong is that the brakes were borderline bad, which I had him replace, but were not bad enough to even fail it on the inspection which he completed. Everything else was fine. My bill was MUCH less than the $4,000 that the NTB mechanic wanted to charge me for fictitious problems! They performed an alignment on my son's car and he had to have it realigned elsewhere a few months later because it didn't drive straight. I will not return here and would not recommend it.

They started to take the rims and tires off the vehicle but the tools they were using were garbage. Meanwhile the tires finally showed up to the store.

Finally just before 3 they were done with my truck. I told them if they would have allowed me to do it it would have only took me 45 minutes and I would have been done and on the road with new tires on my truck. Now I have to go back and have my alignment completed and I'm wondering if that's going to take another whole day.

I personally called Shawn, one of the Managers who was involved from the beginning and he refused to acknowledge any validity of the documentation from the Ford dealer but wanted to look at the car to NOW determine if they were responsible. They towed the car in, stated it was the EGR valve. A week later it overheated again due to them using the wrong intake gasket. I vowed at this point to never use them again, even to repair their mistakes.

A month later the motor mount broke and was found to be missing a bolt. I had another mechanic replace the motor mount. I'm now 60,000 miles down the road from that nightmare and the head gasket they put on with the timing belt is blown. The mechanic I'm using to replace the head gasket found they stripped the tensioner pulley bolt when they did the timing belt. I went int the NTB on S. Kingshighway in St Louis, told them about this. They had finished putting my tires on my car at 11:07 am, which was not too bad only having to wait 30 minutes. Then this is where I got frustrated. They move my car to the last bay in the shop to start the wheel alignment. They raise my car up to start the alignment. Right after that a Dodge Ram truck with a lift pulled into the next bay, right beside my car, that was getting a wheel alignment as well. The next thing I know my car is lowered back to the floor and they are working on the Dodge truck that came in after me.

The store manager told me the lift broke where my car was located and had to wait until the Dodge truck was finished first, then they could finish my car. So instead of getting done around 11:30 am. It was after 1 pm when I was walking out of NTB. The store manager did not offer me any type of discount or incentive for waiting 3.5 hours for my car, other than "we are sorry". I understand that things do happen. But I am individual who like to be informed when something happens. Not wait 45 minutes for an explanation. The first 2 times I went to NTB they put the new tires on the front and the old in the back. Today they left the old tires on the front and the new in the back. As I have been told they are to put new tires on the front every time. So every NTB does not follow the same procedures. After today I will not go back to NTB. All NTB needs to be consistent.

The second time I made an appointment and walked in and the person working the front proceeded to ask me what model of car I had, which he would not let me answer. He just started naming off different models of cars. I then told him "why don't you ask me my name and what time at my appointment is since I gave you all this info at the time of me calling to book my appointment."

The next day after my new set of tires was placed on my SUV I was heading out on a road trip with my three-year-old in the car. While I was heading up North on the highway my car began to shake when I would hit 60 miles per hour (which was never a problem before) while this was happening to my car I was pretty much in the middle of nowhere with my child in the car so I didn't have anywhere to stop and have anyone check out what the problem was. I eventually reached my destination and had it checked by mechanic who proceeded to tell me my tires were cupping in the rear and I had two bad leaks in the front tires. Then the next day after that my tpms light came on.

I paid $600 for a new set of tires that almost immediately had something wrong with them. Not to mention dangerous driving conditions with my child in the car.

Finally I leave at 4:30. I will never go here again, 4 hours later... just leaving the shop for a tire plug. Very bad service with little regard.

Like they said I did. The dealership did the wheel alignment and put a battery in for $294.16. I would not recommend this place to anyone, they try to get you for everything you have. If anything, NTB should pay for what the dealership did. I am a customer who is totally disgusted by what happened to me.

We had service on a 2008 Jeep Liberty which cost us over $700. The rotors and brake pads were to be replaced and some other things on the car were also done. We agreed to service and had all the work done that they said was necessary (as it was our daughter's car and she was taking it to school which was 3 hours from Pittsburgh). We took it today to Mr. Tire to have oil changed and checked over only to have them tell us that the brake pads were cracked and that they were not ceramic (which on the receipt from June said they were ceramic) but some cheaper version was place and had several cracks in them due to the poor work! They ripped another customer off!!! We expect whatever is listed on receipt is what is put in car and that was not the case!

We will NEVER EVER HAVE ANY OF OUR CARS OR COMPANY CARS THAT WE HAVE EVER SERVICED AGAIN BY NTB. Total rip off service! They know people don't have any idea what they actually put in our vehicles and they don't care. Well maybe now they will care as they lose our business as well as many others because of their dishonest business. I have the brake pads that were given to me and I will present them to NTB to let them know that they are not getting away with this anymore... We paid again to have new ceramic brake pads place in the Liberty by Mr. Tire...and I would never have them touch any of our vehicles EVER, EVER AGAIN. Really. I made an appointment to get tires swapped on my 2003 Yukon today. The tires had only been used 1 year by my sister on her Dodge Ram - less than 20,000 miles - more than 1/2 the tread life left. My 18 year old son took the vehicle in for the tire swap - they told him they couldn't put tires on. Said they would call me. Since they had not, I called them. They proceeded to tell me the tires were "bald" in the center from over inflation and he needed a new set of tires. Quite ironic as the tires have over 1/2 the tread life remaining. Oh & by the way - they let him leave with the nearly bald 4 tires currently on the vehicle. Great service huh?

I called back a second time to tell them I looked at the tread again & they were clearly NOT bald in the center - the same gentlemen (who said he was a manager) said, "Well I said they were close to what is questionable." Very funny considering the 1st time I spoke to him he said the tire were bald in the center & "legally" he couldn't put them on the vehicle. I guess I know where NOT TO GO next time I need tires or anything service. It is so sad that we can't get honest service so many places in America today - thank goodness I am not just the normal uneducated customer. Good luck NTB of Champlin MN - you just lost service from any of my 4 vehicles and any of my family and friends in the area. No one likes a dishonest salesman!

Today I booked an appointment online at NTB in Palantine, Illinois on E Dundee Rd. for 12'o clock. I arrived at about 11:55 am. The customer service right away was horrible! The guy I spoke with (Bob) said my car should be ready at 2:30 - 3:00. I was only getting new tires put on and an oil change. It shouldn't take no longer than an hour if that. I knew the time line he provided was pretty strange, so I sat in the front to see when they took my car in. They did not take my car in until 2:00, and that's only after I confronted the store manager (Carlos) about how long I had been waiting, and why my car was still parked out front in the parking lot. Carlos was very rude, he showed no empathy for how long I had been waiting, but yet blamed it on the fact that I placed my order online.

I watched (huge window so you can see what is going on) my car finally get pulled in to be serviced. They started the oil change process. I then notice my car was sitting up in the air for maybe a half hour or so. I heard the manager (Carlos) tell another man that he had sent all the workers on break to eat. I was furious at this point because who sends all their staff on break when there are like 7 customers in the store who have been there for hours waiting on their car to be serviced. Finally the workers came back out, Carlos the store manager asked me to come over to see something, he showed me my rim and said it was cracked. The crack was very very tiny I could barely see it at all.

Then he told me he could not put the new tire on that rim and that he could get me a rim for over $200. At this point I was really upset, so I told Carlos to put my old tires back on and I'll just take my car somewhere else. Carlos then said "well we are going to charge you," I said for what? I said "I been here for 4 hours, and you want to charge me, that is crazy, you should be giving me a credit." He then told me "you know what I'll put the tires back on, and you can leave" and walked away. I told him he was an **, and then he started to square up with me to get ready to fight. One of the employees got in between the both of us, and a few others came over to pull him away. The employee who was in between us asked me what had happened, so I started to explain, and then we went into the waiting room so I can finish telling him.

Carlos then came into the waiting room while the other employee was trying to resolve the issue, and told the employee to get back to work. I then went outside to call the cops, because I felt I was really going to give this guy a serious ass whoopin, and someone needed to be there to prevent that. The cops did arrive, and I told them my side of the story, the whole time Carlos was just smiling with a grin on his face, but behind the officer so he could not see. I then went outside and waited for them to put my tires back on. As I say outside other customers came outside to talk to me, and to tell me how they thought I was going to really beat the guy up, and how he was so rude to them, and how long they had been waiting too.

One girl just came to get a tire refilled because it kept getting flat, and had been waiting up to 2 hours. My car finally came back up front in about 2 minutes, I had already been outside and it was about 15 degrees outside, and snowing. I notice my car had the spare tire on the back passenger side, and again I was furious that they did not put the rim and other tire on the car. The guy who brought the car around, apologize, and he was nice he told me that I should call corporate and file a complaint.

As he was telling me this Bob, the guy who took my information when I first arrived was standing at the door with it opened and told the employee to get back in because he heard what he was telling me. I asked him why he would tell him to get back in when he was only trying to help me out. I have never seen so many people complaining about the managers behavior and how long they had been waiting. Not minutes, not an hour, but hours for simple things to be put on or fixed. I will never ever go to another NTB in my life, they will never get any of my money.

I went in and talked to Nick who told me what it would possibly cost to do it, so I knew it needed done so I agreed. I went and ate while I waited and got a call from Nick telling me that upon inspection that my front brake calipers were sticking and needed to be replaced. I did know this ahead of time and had been putting it off... I knew at that time I did Not have the Money to do this and Nick suggested the NTB Card which I applied for and was Approved for a $500 dollar credit, which I was happy for. I asked how much the repair would be and the reply was "well it would be under the limit." Of course I said well o.k. and had it done.

O.k., so when I went in to pick up the car the Price for the service just happened to be $499 dollars... Kinda weird but ok. As I went home I looked further into the invoice and there was Nothing about the Tires, which is what I went there in the first place. So, I called and talked to Nick and asked him about it, and he stated that since I had the brake work done that they did Not charge me for that... which was Great. So once they were done, I drove it but my car drove the exact same way. So I brought it right back. Once they test drove it again they said it was a transmission issue which doesn't even sound right to me. What made things worst is that my stabilizer bar wasn't even bad.

They changed a whole part just because one side didn't have a bolt on it! Why not just find a bolt and screw it on!? That makes no sense and is extremely time consuming. And then my tires weren't even aligned right. So I made them refund me my money for the so called alignment. I would not recommend this company to anybody. I visited the 2720 S Kirkwood Rd, Houston, TX 77077 location Saturday evening for a oil change. When I got home I saw oil in my driveway and called NTB to be assured they plugged it back. When I got up the next morning it was a heavy amount which prompted me to look below the car, and I saw it dripping. I called the same location and informed them that there was a issue, as now I can smell and see the oil so I did not want to drive it and risk damaging my motor. So they informed me I could visit the location nearest to me 12610 Southwest Fwy, Stafford, TX 77477.

When they put my car up to inspect it, all the workers gathered around because as soon as they lifted the car, oil went running everywhere. The filter was not placed back in the correct place, and they informed me that even though I just got the oil changed, it was completely empty already as it was just flowing out and they had to power wash the oil and re do the oil change as it is empty. This caused me to leave work for 3 1/2 hours while I waited for them to correct the issue.

This is unacceptable. If I PAY for a service, I expect it to be deemed as diligently performed and sought through. If they are that busy to where they have to rush through things, then they should have not taken any more customers. What if I did not notice the oil leaking? What if I were to go get on the road to visit my mother and my car broke down because there is NO oil and I blew my engine? Then what? This is unacceptable.

It is 102* here in Houston, and I am a mother. I should not have to be concerned about my car when I place it in the hands of a well know company to do their job. A simple oil change could have completely turned into thousands of dollars if my engine would have blew. This type of incompetency should not be tolerated. Not only did I have to leave work, on unpaid time, I had to sit at NTB for an additional 3 hours while they corrected their mistake! I am thankful that the 12610 Southwest Fwy, Stafford, TX 77477 was able to correct the issue, however I am completely irritated with the lack of training the workers received. Under no circumstances, should a filter be placed in the WRONG location and it not be capped back on. I understand mistakes happen, but not at the cost of a customer!!!

NTB pushes their one year wheel alignment on customers. If for any reason you need another alignment, say for front end work, the burden of proof is placed on the customer whether or not the one year alignment exists. NTB doesn't want to remind a customer of time remaining on the one year alignment. I was billed for yet another one year alignment even though I had over two months remaining on the first. The service manager sold a serpentine belt plus labor at an inflated rate. $78 for the belt, 0.8 hours labor. Perhaps $50 for a belt, 0.5 hours to install is more that reasonable. This was the cost at a local Nissan dealer. In the end, a week after the service, I noticed the old belt was still installed. The shop never did the work but billed me for it.

This happened at NTB #8779 at 13521 Madison Ave, Kansas City, MO 64145. 816-941-8888. I reported the ripoff to TBC Corp customer service email consumerrelations@tbccorp.com but received no reply at all. The shop did return the money but only after I returned with receipts to prove it. I think most customers would not catch the mistake. NTB would be happy to keep the money had I not asked for it to be returned. They also recommend service work that is not needed. I'm writing this review as a warning to others. For a national chain to behave this way speaks to their brand. NTB cannot be trusted. From the complaints I see on the internet I don't see how they can stay in business. For myself and my family and friends, I can never recommend NTB. They are not trustworthy.

After, the conversation with manager about taking a long time to fix the car. I paid for man labor only. Well, I am trying to replace my brakes and I have a lock nut on each tire. My car did not have lock nuts before I want to NTB. I feel NTB employees put the lock nuts as a practical joke because I refused to pay for full services. I hope this note will help someone who believe in great service.

The employees lie about trying to sell their products and services, but they never done properly, rip-off/overcharge that you do not even expect the price. Employees are very rude, lack of education and lack of mechanic knowledge/experience. Lower self-esteem. Unprofessional. Dishonest. They are sadist and psychopath! The worst attitude and worst manner. Wasting time. Just told them I wouldn't never come back. My friend also had a similar problem with an NTB just down the road in which her dead battery wasn't even replaced! We are NOT recommended our friends and family to go to NTB!

I bought my tires here a couple of weeks ago at the Conyers-Iris Drive location. I was impressed with their kindness and acting like they REALLY cared about your car. The overall maintenance, tips on preventive maintenance were extremely helpful and the recommendations that needed to be eventually fixed or fixed right away... really help me keep tabs on the condition of my car and they were very very concerned about making sure that I didn't do any damage to my car. They were really concerned about my safety on the road. The manager at this store exceeded my expectations in my overall experience and to top it off he made ya feel at home for the time it took to fix my car. Great Job!!!

I went to NTB located in 301 Bay Area Blvd, Webster, TX 77598 in 07/11/2016 because my tire pressure light is on. After checking the car, the manager told me that they can patch the tire. In addition, the valve cover gasket of my car should be replaced. I do not have time that day so I just let them to fix the tire's problem and also do the standard oil change. One hour later, I paid the tire patch and oil change then went home. However, the light lit up again the next day. I thought maybe the pressure is too high or the pressures are unbalanced for the four tires after the technician's inflation, so I tried to measure and inflate the tire myself. All my efforts did not work indeed, so I had to go to the NTB store again in 07/14. I am available that day so I also let them to replace the valve cover gasket.

Then the worst thing happens. The technician is honest. He helped me to check all the tires and cannot find any patch! It means that they did nothing for my tires in the first time but charged me money for the tire patch. Moreover, they cannot find the reason of the light on. The technician just adjusted each tire to be 30 psi. And they told me to come back again when the light lit up. I am very disappointed with their service and very angry about their lying. Since they lied to me the first time, I doubt that the valve cover gasket replacement is needed. If I could choose again, I will go to other stores for a new inspection.

Obviously, the light lit up again the next day. And the steering wheel shook heavily because they did not balance the tires after finding the tire patch. So I went back in 07/15. The manager measured all the four tires. The pressure is good. So he just inflated the spare tire and said the spare tire also incurred the light on. The technician balanced the front tires for me. Then, I had nothing to say but waited another day.

In 07/17, the light lit up again and the steering wheel also shook. I went back the fourth time. The manager said they can do nothing because the pressure sensor is in the ABS system. He advised me to go to the Toyota dealer. I said "The steering wheel shook. Maybe you need to balance the rear tires for me at least." He said they don't have time and let me to come back tomorrow.

I am not sure that the steering wheel shaking problem is incurred by the unbalance rear tires. I am not an expert. What I understand is that all my tires are good, and my car can be drove smoothly before I went to NTB. I paid money without any problem fixed and incurred new problems. Anyway, I will not go back to NTB again and let them work on the car anymore. I don't know if NTB cares about the complaint. I shared my experience in NTB and let you know their horrible service. Maybe not all the stores, but the store I went to. If you need the receipts, I can give you the copy of course.

NTB Buford Hwy 20 Buford GA, When I had my tires replaced at this location somehow they installed my new tires on a set of totally trashed set of rims. I know that these aren't the rims that I brought them originally because one of mine had bad damage to the outside edge where I drove 1 mile back home with a blown out tire and that damage is no longer exist, plus I lost 2 of my center caps years ago and now I have all 4 again. Also three of the rims are completely destroyed. The only good one is on the left front where I look when exiting my truck.

When I brought this matter to NTB the service manager told me I was a lying, crooked customer just wanting something for free. Then the store manager was very rude and said that he was not going to do anything for me, to take it up with corporate. These guys at this NTB IN Buford GA. are very bad people. Please think twice before doing business at this location. Hopefully the district manager will resolve this horrible treatment by the staff at NTB Buford GA. Look at the nice shiny silver wheel that put on my left front drivers side compared to the other three wheels that have been destroyed by another customer. Notice the dark tire machine marks and they have lost all of their clearcoat with the bad discoloration.

Tires purchased. 4 tires. I had been going there few years. Spent at least $5,000.00 a year with my vehicles friends truck Christmas winter tires 4 vehicles work on trailblazer even purchased huge train track gift with all extra referrals. I had a tire go flat 5 days later. I called - told "bring it there." I'm single and disabled. Spent $2,000.00 the week before for tires on two cars. I was told "too busy - winter snowing. Don't have time to come to you." Well after speaking with manager I was told "not sure even if we carry another tire same size." I told them after what I spent I will expect them to come due to I called at 8.00 am. It was done before day over tire changed. I get a call - I owe a bill for them coming to change tire. Came here, aired tire, took to shop.

Here is my immediate complaint. I have had vehicle do not use alto but after they replaced tire things quit working - didn't even believe it was due to my tire. I will be heading to Mason City store to take tires I bought for Josh the manager I spoke with before. Due to health reason I was not able to get there. The tire replaced on my trailblazer was a tire 2 sizes larger. To date until I realized why my 4 wheel drive never worked my vehicle made loud noise and seemed like it tilted up when I turned to sharp. The items I had replaced fixed all were due to what finally Chev dealer after all issues done replaced I was asked to come in to shop - they wanted to show me something. I arrived three managers had it up on hoist - showing me why I was having to replace everything on driver's side - everything to do with 4 wheel drive nice - all that hold tire and worn side of tire also need drivers side replaced.

I had been driving a very serious dangerous vehicle with grandchildren cost of damage caused by your place using a bad tire. I spent 980.00 on all tires for my vehicle. Told "not sure if we can fix bad new tire." I just bought so you store workers put on a tire twice as big as all 3. Let me place myself and children family every person in my vehicle as we drove on interstate highway with a tire 6 inches taller wider to cause damage due to uneven unbalanced shop cost all damage cost to purchase correct size. Chev gave me all damage repairs stored caused by putting a tire that is so big 4 wheel drive could go in due to tire. I will request ASAP full cost due to your repair stating. No tire same size but you put new tire on even knowing my dog would of seem tire so huge. All the damage and cost repair purchase of tire to match cost I paid for your tires. I will follow up Monday after I go take in tires to Mason Store.

I will first state I am not accepting anything but what I ask. I will follow up with Iowa attorney general consumer complaint attorney. I will be faxing this also Better Business Bureau, last every site I can post this. I will also on Facebook, Youtube, Twitter if Josh does not immediately take care of. I want no one at this business to do anything to my vehicle. I have been told I have to do this to prevent someone to be killed loss of control due to I was a woman who you got fooled by tire put on until I was shown now tires side by side 7 inches taller both on front end. Liability is going to be reimbursed not more than 7 days. I pray we do not have to proceed having attorney general proceed handling forcing action - I can tell them you resolved my complaint ASAP.

Updated 8/14/2016 - I have my complaint and experience posted on this site about this company. To this present day I have not heard any response from anyone within company. Mason City Iowa was store I had my damage done from after they put new tires on. I must again ask to please post this response also. I have for last few hours been reading all the customers who all had similar experiences. Each and everyone basically states same experience or damages done to vehicles after bringing their vehicle to company. I am asking what can be done asap to stop this company from damaging or perhaps killing someone regarding tires or brakes or tires blowing out after 5 days.

I thought damage and money it cost me to repair my Trailblazer from getting new tires to 1500.00 almost 2,000.00 to repair putting on two different tires on the front of Trailblazer almost 6 sizes different on each side. Please anyone let's all get together to file a class action lawsuit or everyone please file a complaint immediately with your attorney general consumer complaint form. This is the only way we who have already suffered damage and loss from this company just looking at our vehicle to amount every thought they had to pay to get vehicle I know in Iowa. The estimate cannot be over $200.00 more than their estimated cost without owner's consent. Please let pull together to save others from loss of money but to stop possible death from parts coming off while driving with our families and our children. Thank you.

First of all my address is wrong in the system. They gave me some address and I told them to fix it and never did. I took my BMW for oil change and tire rotation 6/20 and picked up on 21st. On my way back within 1 mile, all the lights lit up (brake, transmission, air pressure, check engine etc.) Tire pressure was not matching, there was a big difference in the gauge pressures. I left my Mercedez for oil change and tire rotation when I picked up this one. When I went back to pick up my Mercedez, I told the manager about the problem in BMW. He was very rude and refused to check it out and stated that he will check when he has time. I left the car there and went with my Benz.

When I went back in the evening he threw the key to me and said to take it somewhere else. He never checked my car. My Benz also had the air light lit up when I picked up after the servicing. The gauge pressures were different for all 4 tires. You have very unprofessional employees at your Brent wood, TN location. Last year I went there to get quote for changing all 4 tires for these 2 vehicles and their response was not encouraging. I went to next door Discount tire and got it changed. Their customer service is excellent. I don't want to go back there or any other NTB locations after the way the manager treated me there. He refused to use my coupon also.

I'm writing this complaint because of horrible service at this location 10801 W Florissant Ave, Saint Louis, MO 63136. Purchased 4 tires with wheel alignment. At time of purchase was told I needed part and that I could purchase the tires but they could not do the alignment unless I paid them to repair the part. I said "oh no I'll get the part replace". They said "ok, but you still need to pay for alignment or you can't get the special we're offering". I was told just bring car back within a year after part replaced and the alignment would be covered. This was cool. Until the appointment.

So one week later after getting tires replaced I call to make an appointment. This was on a Sunday. I was told this was not a good day, they were pretty much booked. So I explained to the tech taking the appointment I could come in on my lunch if that would work during the week. The tech said "sure come Tuesday 11:30 and we'll get you taken care of". Now this is the tech talking to me. So on Tuesday I leave work 11 am to make sure I'm there on time. Arrive at NTB at 11:20 am, speak with the guy and everything is seeming ok. Until 12:35 pm I look out front and my car is still sitting outside.

I speak to person at counter and ask why is my car still sitting out front. He goes to the back and a person goes out and get the car. But no work starts on vehicle, then all kinds of other issues pop up like I need lugs and a Stem is now bad. I believe all this occurred because I called them out on letting my vehicle sit outside until 12:35. Needless to say I was there until 3:15 pm just for tire alignment. This was horrible experience I would wish on anyone. It sucks I have purchased a lifetime of the tire service from these guys. I don't like NTB tires. Would not recommend to anyone.

I purchased 4 new Cooper tires 5 days ago with a tire road hazard warranty, balance for the life of the tire, flat repairs for the life of the tire, tire rotations for the life of the tire and a one year front end alignment. I purchased the complete tire package. I had a slow tire registering on my dash on the fifth day. The TPMS said my left front tire had 16 lbs of air in it. I headed back to NTB and watched while they checked my tire pressure in the front left tire. It had 38 lbs of air in it and my right rear had the 16 lbs in it. This told me the NTB tech did not reprogram my TPMS on my vehicle. It made me wonder how many times the techs don't reprogram the TPMS when you purchase a new set of tires.

Well, my tire had a screw in the sidewall so the tire had to be replaced no charge. The problem was the tire was five days old and they charged me. $7.00 mount & install, One time tire balance $9.99, Balancing for the life of the tire $8.00 and Road Hazard warranty again for one tire $23.40. Total $55.37. I asked to talk to the store manager Will to explain to me why the extra charges. He told me that's what everyone one does. I called Discount Tire from NTB. Discount Tire they told me being that the tire was purchased less than a week ago he would waive the extra fees. The guy I talked to wasn't the store manager either. Maybe that's one reason that Discount Tire believes in taking care of their customers. I asked him to call his area manager, Will said no. I asked for the area manager's name and cell number. I have left the area manager two messages already. One yesterday and another message today.

I figured Will the store manager had already called his area manager and killed him returning my call. You would figure the like to keep me as a customer. I owe three vehicles, RV, horse trailer, boat and a tractor all of which has four tires on each of them. I quit doing business when NTB was NTW because of their poor customer service. NTB will always tell you it's going be a two hour wait and their shop might only have two cars in it with techs walking around doing nothing. I'm not giving up on this because of the principle. I'm calling Dominic for a third time, I also filed a complaint with customer service yesterday and they said they would have someone call me back. They haven't called me back either. It must be a NTB policy not to call customers back that have complaints...

I brought my Hyundai in today with a coupon for a 19.99 oil change and tire rotation and I needed high mileage oil so instead of charging a difference they charged me 35.00 more for the high mileage oil. That is pretty sorry. I will be sure to share this on every site that I can find. I could have went to Jiffy Lube and got better service at half the price without a coupon.
