Never, Never buy Lexus!!!! Lexus quality is horrible and service is horrible also. I rent brand new Lexus NX300 black line special edition on 2020. I love it and take care so good (I am a lady driver). I rent Lexus because I saw some magazines list that Lexus has the best quality and least defect rate. I do the maintenance every year (changed engine oil twice a year). Now I drove only 4 years 2 months with very, very low mileages: 35000 km. The engine shut down on the local ways and highway! (I am lucky this engine's sudden shut down did not cause accident due to my ultra careful drive). I was told one of the fuel injectors was completely down. This is the major engine parts failure!!!! I was told I need pay this major engine parts failure by myself to fix it because Lexus basic insurance coverage only cover 48 months and I am in 50 months.
Past 30 years, I rent Nissan Sentra, Dodge Caravan, Volvo, etc. Even the cheapest car like Nissan Sentra, Dodge Caravan never gave me such major engine parts failure in 4 years period (with 35000 km mileages total). My previous Volvo has the first problem come out with windshield wipe at 7th years which is understandable. Lexus shocking system is very bad designed. It's horrible when you pass the bump. In Winter icy day, it's very dangerous to drive the car since it's easy to slip outside the highways (I had many friends complain the balance of Lexus system). I asked Lexus dealer to give me some compensations for major engine failure issue in such a short period. I am willing to present all my maintenance and oil changing bills in past 4 years (I did car maintenance at Lexus until 2021. Due to Covid, I made oil change and winter tires change at the same garage at the same time twice a year). They refused to give me any compensation for this major engine failure issue!!!!
They charge me almost 40% more for labor per hours cost compare with regular garage rate (which I accepted that they said they have better quality). But the second I can't take: They charge 10.5 hrs to change while the regular garage only need 6-6.5 hrs to do the job. The total cost of labor to do the job turn out to be 250% higher than regular garage cost. Horrible!!! Just a warning: Never, Never buy Lexus!!!! Worst quality car I have experienced so far. This brand is garbage and the service is also horrible. They only eat your money and don't care about any reputation about their brand image at all.

I have read about some really bad experiences with Lexus cars here. I thought I would add a good one. I bought my 2008 RX400h in 2012 with 90,000 miles on it. Now in 2024 it has 174,000 miles on it. It still runs like the day I bought it. The hybrid batteries are still 100 percent. I have never had a a repair and only maintenance. The hybrid system works really well and switches between gas and electric seamlessly. The electric assist makes the car pretty quick from a a dead stop. The engine shuts down at stops and coasting. The car will only run on full electric at very low speeds but still the hybrid is well worth it. Very comfortable car. The 2008 model is missing lots of new features but not a big deal. One nice thing, Lexus had a touch screen back then. I use my iPhone for Navigation. I hate Lexus styling after 2015, the new models are butt ugly. I hope most people have better experiences than many of the reviews reflect. I nave have used Lexus customer service.

I bought the NX 350h at the end of February 2023. Last month I was not able to start the car, "Battery Dead Message". The 12 volt battery was replaced. The original battery was defective. Now if the temperature goes below freezing (0 Celsius - 32 Fahrenheit) I cannot open the driver's door from the outside using the conventional method. It opens from the inside. Talked to the dealer and they said that it is a common problem with the NX from 2022 on. Surprising that they did not fix that yet. Sent an email to Lexus over a week ago, have yet to get a response.
The rear door on the driver's sometimes it opens, sometime it doesn't. I called Lexus and the girl said there are no recalls on my car so there is no problem go to the dealer. The girl was very rude. She kept interrupting me. Went back to the dealer and they said they are waiting for a solution from Lexus. All this time nothing is getting done. This is my first Lexus/Toyota Lexus product and my last. Let me say that I am not too impressed with Lexus. I believe that Lexus is depending on their reputation to sell cars. As I can see from other reviews their reputation is starting to fade.

So, Lexus sold me to buy a hybrid car and said that hybrid batteries lasts for 20 years or 200K miles etc. Unfortunately, my battery died as soon as warranty ended i.e. right after 8 years, Lexus Of Course won't help in any case. They did diagnostic on car for $250 which AutoZone did for free and mentioned that I need replacement and cost is $5350.00 for hybrid battery with 1 year warranty ONLY. Phew. Felt like this is rip OFF. So you end up buying hybrid and everything you saved on Gas spent on hybrid battery.

Purchased at CPO 2015 Lexus RX 350 for dealership with approximately 32K miles from a dealership in Richmond, VA. The maintenance of the vehicle has been followed as determined by the Lexus manual. Maintenance was performed by the Lexus dealership or Toyota dealer. The head gasket blew with 88K miles on the vehicle. The motor is no longer being made so a motor from a wrecked vehicle is the only option unless, like the dealership wants, purchase a new Lexus. Motor and install is approximately $9.5K. Corporate and dealership are unwilling to provide assistance.
The dealership is charging full price even though on their website is discounting for the new oil and filter and the tire alignment. Both said vehicle was out of warranty. Sounds like Lexus IS now in the disposable car business unless you purchase their extended warranty from the dealership. What better why to stick it to the consumer. You would think that since Lexus's the flagship of Toyota and they want repeat customers.

Bought a Lexus SUV over 7 months ago. The dealership only gave me 1 key. They failed to tell me this when I bought the SUV. Recently, Lexus called and told me I should tell them a dealership and they would send them the key. A month later I called Lexus and they told me I am in phase 3 of the program and I will be getting a letter in Nov. or Dec. telling me what to do. I informed 3 different representatives that I wanted to receive the letter at a different address. They informed me that they could not. Spoke to Lexus Supervisor Gus and he said there was nothing he could do.

I have purchase an RX 350 F Sports 2023 model with panoramic view roof (it's divided in to two parts one front side sunroof and rear side a separate glass top. On July 18 2023 I was sitting in my SUV waiting to pick some in a parking lot in Arizona around 11.30 am. Outside temperature was 115. Suddenly heard a big scary noise, I went out and checked. Nothing noticed. After sometime I was driving home some abnormal sound noticed suddenly. I pull over to side and thoroughly checked. Find out that my rear seat top sunroof completely shattered and my grand child was inside the miraculously escape wounds.
I went to Superstition Lexus to get a quote. To replace that 4 ft x 3 ft glass replacement cost they quoted me 12000.00 (twelve thousand dollars). It's 1/4 price of the whole car. I humbly request the public that please don't ever buy an RX 350 with a panoramic moon roof. Also it's extremely dangerous to the rear seated passengers. If anyone want more information please contact me.

I purchased a brand new 2023 Lexus RX500h in late February for just under $70K. It is a beautiful hybrid SUV that has comfort and performance. After 2200 miles, my air conditioner stopped working. I took it to the dealer and they said that a rock must have come through the front grill and into the compressor, which would need to be replaced. This was not warranty work and the bill would be $4000.
I was shocked and went on the internet to find this problem is not uncommon. The large front grill of the new Lexus models seems to have an issue with this as the compressor is placed inside the engine compartment just behind the front grill. I am not happy about a $4K bill so soon after my $70K expense, but I told them to proceed with the repair as I had no real choice.
The car has been in service for over two weeks. The replacement compressor is on backorder and no one can tell me when it will be shipped. The local dealer is trying to help but no one at corporate is able to give me an idea of when it might come and the car will be fixed. I am now hearing that it could be a month or more. Lexus of Bellevue is the dealer and they are trying to help me, but it seems no one at Lexus corporate views this situation as an issue. The dealer is providing me a loaner vehicle, but I have to go back and return it every week for they have time limitations for how long one customer can have a loaner. After owning several Lexus vehicles in my past, I am so disappointed. The company that used to stand for high quality and customer service seems to no longer care.

I had a huge issue with a used Lexus I had purchased 5 months earlier. Major repair I had to pay out of pocket. I was extremely unhappy. Lexus is the reliable brand. “The pursuit of Perfection.” My confidence in Lexus was shattered. I wasn’t shy about reviewing them as such. I received a phone call from Lexus of Omaha today and was told that they were not happy that I was unhappy and reached out to Lexus Corporate and they were able to reach an agreement where I was given a service credit. This is service, this is how you keep customers coming back. Confidence restored. Lexus of Omaha absolutely earned my business and I can go back to loving my Lexus. Thank you!

Sad day for me. I have been driving Lexus cars almost my entire driving life. My last car being a 1995 Lexus Ls400 that I had for 9 years that was a beautifully engineered vehicle. Everything that wasn’t a major mechanical part started failing due to age and I decided it was time for a newer Lexus. We all know how hard it has been to find a good used car these days.
I had the good fortune to find two 2010 Lexus Is250s, one in black, one in white. Similar trims, looked at both and chose the black one. The car had been purchased at Lexus of Omaha, all the services were done at Lexus of Omaha. No brainer right? Worked on by Lexus mechanics it’s whole life. Full service records through Lexus of Omaha. I was thrilled. Jackpot I thought. Well here I am 5 months later driving down the road and my car has zero power. I call the dealership and have the car towed there. A day later I receive a call that I am having a fuel pump issue. It’s going to cost 1k. Things fail, it’s a 12 year old car. I understand. Called back the next Monday and it’s still not driving well. They have to replace the other fuel pump. 2000 more dollars. Basically the entire fuel system failed.
Like I said, I’ve had multiple Lexus vehicles and I’ve never had a major repair. I take great care of my vehicles. My Ls400s seals on the wheels deteriorated before any major parts failed. The hood latch on my es300 rusted away and broke before any major failings of mechanical parts. What happened to Lexus quality? 5 months in and I’m spending 25% of this cars value to keep it operating. Purchased from a Lexus dealership, serviced by a Lexus dealership. I thought Lexus stood by its products and customers. Not my experience. Don’t let the hype fool you, that Lexus vehicles are one of the most reliable vehicles you can buy. Especially one that has was well taken care of, such as the example I purchased in November. That you can buy an older Lexus confidently. My confidence in this brand vanished in an instant.
Guy I work with purchased a Kia for way too much money. A few months later he was having his engine replaced under warranty. My words to him were, you should have looked at a used Lexus. Who was the first person to text me. He was. “I hear your Lexus is in the shop???? :)” I won’t put myself in the position to be embarrassed again. I have to say, Lexus of Omaha can be really great. My purchasing experience. Service communication, timely repair, loaner Lexus, all great things. Great customer service in so many ways. When it came time for Lexus to stand next to a product they just sold me, off their lot, inspected by them, serviced by them? Nothing. They handed me a giant bill and let me on my way.
I will struggle to purchase a used Lexus ever again (unless it’s a 1st or second gen LS). I will struggle to recommend a Lexus vehicle to anyone I know or work with. Really bummed out. Was hoping an FC would be my next one, the gray one parked out front of LoO. Looked amazing. My IS250 looks amazing even all these years later. Don’t let looks fail you. Lexus isn’t what it used to be.

I purchased a 2023 Lexus ES and only ONE day later I leased a Lexus NX, both from the same dealership. The first car was driven home and was 17lb overweight on tire and needed an alignment. The 2nd car had the wrong VIN number and the contract, tag and all information had to be re-done. There is ZERO quality control. I called Consumer Affairs and spoke to a very nice, empathetic lady named Elle who said I could contact her again if I needed to. She sent the case over to a 'manager' named Israel, who called and said they 'don't handle anything like this - only cars that have warranty issues'. So I spent $125,000 and Lexus does not stand behind its brand, reputation, care about its customers and you actually cannot call back your original person. STAY AWAY.

I purchased an RX last week and had some issues with the infotainment system that it came with. It would not load my wife's profile, who's the primary driver. I contacted customer service yesterday, and the Case Manager that I contacted was very nice and helpful. Found out the issue is that the vehicle could not create a user profile because I had opted out of a trial internet connection for the vehicle. They fixed that my agreeing for a trial. Today, I tried to set up the profile again, and this time, the vehicle can see the profile, but cannot change to it. So I contacted Lexus again. I asked whether it's possible to speak to the lady I spoke with before - she knows the background. They said I would have to call tomorrow because they have decided to transfer my call to someone else, who is only available tomorrow! When I asked a few times whether someone can help me now, the lady grudgingly said she can help.
After half an hour of trouble-shooting, removing car from profile, re-adding, resetting and starting from scratch, I found myself in exactly the same situation - the vehicle profile has become "Guest" instead of my wife, who's the primary driver. Their final suggestion is to drive the car to the dealer and see if they can help! It's no longer worth spending any more time on it. We don't really need the internet bells and whistles that the Lexus comes with, anyhow, so we're going to use it logged in as "Guest"! We feel like Lexus is overpriced, overbearing, over-rated and maybe should be overthrown (lol)!!

I have a 2019 Lexus NX300 with 35K miles. On December 26th 2022 the car stalled without warning on the interstate almost killing me and endangering those around me. I took the car to the dealership on the 27th who after a 3 hour wait said they didn’t know what’s wrong with it. They later called me and asked me if I can take the car and test drive it, which I was not comfortable with since they didn’t actually identify the cause of the problem and it would put me and others in harm's way. After 11 days, this is the sign-out I received:
- The engine light came on for an electronic board issue due to the engine or throttle malfunctioning- they told me that this wasn’t really an error and they cleared the error by resetting the electronic board.
- I got a notification from my Lexus app that there is an error with the all wheel drive which was not addressed, nor mentioned to me.
- The battery needed to be replaced.
So all in all sounds like I wasted a ton of money on this “Luxury” car which really is a piece of *crap*. I will be getting rid of this car asap and would advise future car buyers to stay away from the Lexus brand.

Of all my past Lexus none had this. So I decided I am no longer going to buy cars from Lexus if they are going to sell cars that melt. Beware they don't cover melting parts...

I own a 2009 Lexus ES 350, bought a certified pre-owned from a Lexus dealer. Love the car except for one thing. Have had 11 door lock actuators replaced due to part failure. From searching online I learned these parts fail on multiple Lexus and Toyota models and on much newer cars than I have. It is a continuing problem they can not seem to solve or care to solve. Each door has failed multiple times with the driver's side front door failing 6 times. Lexus had been very good and agreed to replace the parts even after the expiration of the warranty. I had to deal with Lexus customer service directly as the dealer did not want to deal it after the 6th or 7th failure.
Lexus knows they have a problem with these door lock actuators and I was happy they stood behind it, at least they did for a while. When the part failed again for the 11th time I attempted to contact Lexus by phone and email over several weeks. I was promised calls back and it never happened. I would understand if they no longer were going to cover the failed parts as the car is 13 years old, even though these parts have been failing since I 've owned the car for the last 10 years. The issue is that customer service would not even call me back. Rather than say they just can't cover the repairs any longer they chose to just ignore me. Shame on them. I would never purchase another Lexus due to the same parts failing over and over and total lack of respect and customer service.

This is my 3rd Lexus, 2nd with Scanlon. I doubt I will stay faithful to Lexus. The quality of the vehicles have decreased. GPS is extremely annoying and doesn't work well. The hands free option never works, no matter what we I say it rarely understands us. Seems to be more of a hazard than a safety feature. The engine is so loud and vibrates and the parking cameras seem off with my 2021. My 2021 and my 2018 both started to get an odd smell from the AC after the 2nd year. My 2015 Lexus was so smooth I could not even tell it was on. But my 2018 and 2021 are just not as smooth.
Tampa Lexus would do an amazing job with cleaning my car anytime I brought it there. Scanlon Lexus car washing is pathetic. Scanlon had amazing service all around back in 2017-2019. When I got my 2nd lease from them in 2020 is was just not the same. The service rep was so kind back in 2017, but when it came time to release in 2020, he was your typical salesman that didn't seem to care anymore. The day I picked up my 2021 vehicle I noticed a week later that the fluids were never topped off, the tires did not have proper pressure which was such a hassle because we were leaving town and had to drive all over the place trying to find a place that had a running tire pump. Just poor customer service. The attention to detail at Scanlon is gone. There was a huge shift in everyone's attitude there.
This past summer I had to call roadside for a flat tire. I waited 2 hours and no one showed up. My husband had to travel over an hour and cancel his clients for the rest of the day to help me. Scanlon Lexus didn't offer any other assistance so I had to call a third party to get the repair done, then Lexus refused to reimburse me. My sales rep didn't respond to any of my emails when I messaged him to ask for help in getting the issue resolved. He went from being this super kind and genuine person back when I had my first Lexus with Scanlon, to completely ignoring me this year. Not sure what happened but he is not the same genuine person I thought I knew.
We were hit by Hurricane Ian recently. When I called Lexus Financial, they would not do anything to help give a little break on making a payment. We just wanted to have a 30 day break and asked if we could put one payment at the end of the lease. I had done this back when we go hit by Irma. They allowed us to put one payment at the end of the lease with no fees or interest. But today I was told it would be a $175 fee. Not really practical for people who have lost so much and have a mountain of bills and repairs to have to pay for. We are done with Lexus. The quality of the vehicles and service has gone drastically downhill.

In the past five years, I only drove my 2016 Lexus RX350 for 21000 miles, and even barely drove it during the pandemic years. But suddenly, its air conditioning system did not work well in the beginning of this summer. The local Lexus dealership diagnosed my car and concluded that one of the AC Actuator Motors failed that caused the AC problem. However, I only drove this car for less than five years with only 20K around miles, still like a brand new car! My old Toyota and Honda vehicles have never had such AC problem during their 14-year drive history! I feel very disappointed in Lexus! And, the Lexus dealership even gave me a sky high repairment/replacement fee: $21000 labor fee plus $400 part (the AC actuator motor), which made me even more unhappy!
I cherish this Lexus car like my new baby with much more care than other old car of mine, now I have to pay such high price to repair the AC that my old car have never had that problem? It's ridiculous and unacceptable! I declined the repair directly, would try to find a more reasonable dealership to repair this problem. I did not believe them so I did not purchase tires. March 29, 2022 at 22,334 miles I took the car in for checkup because I was going on a trip and did not want any problems. Again they said I needed tires and proceeded to give me a quote. I told them I would not be purchasing tires from them. I went to a tire shop to see what they say. I did need tires. I questioned the mileage and needing tires. They advised me the Firestone Turanzo supplied with the car are tires that are not given a warranty because they are special that are softer rubber for a smoother ride when you test drive it. They don't last longer than 25,000 miles. Checking with Lexus service dept. why they did not advise why the tires were wore out at such low mileage, response, because they see it quite often!
This is the 3rd Lexus I have owned and never had this issue in the past. It must be another way for them to sell their "Optional tire and wheel warranty" instead of being honest up front with the customer. Looking at the information brochure on the tire there is no mileage warranty listed. So if you are buying a Lexus, be sure to ask about the warranty Lexus is giving at N/C on the tires and be sure they are not tires that will not last through your lease before you have to buy new tires. I am very disappointed in Metro Lexus and wanted to warn everyone of what they are now doing.

Starting in 2008 when I received a notification from Lexus stating that my dash had issues that they knew about (Hazing, dull, tacky and cracking) and maybe recalled in the future. They would notify me of such. My dash was dull, hazy and tacky at the time. I waited and got no such notification. 2012- I called McGrath with was one of the dealerships (they have 3 locations) I purchased it from, and asked if they had a recall on my 2004 GX470 for dash issues that were mentioned to me before. They said no and nothing more, even though at the time there was a customer support for it that I had no knowledge of. So I figured I was on my own, not knowing if I knew about the customer support and brought it in they would have replaced my dash.
2021- I get in my Lexus and the dash is cracked from left to right all the way across. I am not happy, as my car has been garage kept all this time and well kept. I call McGrath and after lengthy discussions and repeated calls am told they sent 2 notifications for the dash issues and 2 notifications for an airbag module recall, none of which I ever received. They said there was a customer support for the dash from 2010-2017, but that it was over and there was nothing they could do for me. I said that would be ok, had I been notified, but since I was not that they should replace my dash on them. Once I found out about the airbag recall, I had it taken care of by them in 3 days from being told over the phone. I think if they had sent me a notification that they would replace my dull, hazy, tacky, cracked dash at a cost of $1,705.00 I would have jumped on that, don't you?
I continued up the corporate management chain, only to spend a lot of time to get the same answer. They did, however, change the statement that they sent 2 notifications for the recall and 2 for the customer support for the dash to 1 for each. I went up as high as the V.P. for customer support and called 3 different times, left messages and never got a response back. I then went to the state's attorney's office and filed a complaint there.
After several emails they sent to Lexus and months of waiting, I was told they said the same thing. So now I'm writing this complaint review to let everyone know how they treat their customers. Still not happy. Don't think it's fair to be treated like this from a Big Corporation, just because they are big and powerful and think they can get away with it. I would like a new dash, Lexus. I have all the documentation on paper, but you can just look in your customer complaint fees and you'll find it there. I hope this helps someone out there.

I am currently leasing a car from Lexus, and I am moving from one state to another. I tried to contact Lexus customer service for the instructions I should follow to complete the registration. Based on their misleading instructions, I have been to the DMV 3 times, wasted three days, and so far, I got nothing done. The customer service gave me different instructions every time and was always 100% sure about the incorrect instructions they gave me. They also insisted that the DMV told me the wrong instructions, but it is the DMV that will get the title registered. I called them the 4th time today, and they finally got some instructions kind of consistent with the DMV. But they kept telling me to provide them some documents via Fax and no emails... I have to say, this car will be my last Lexus.

Exploding glass moonroofs. If you are investigating the purchase of a Lexus with a glass moonroof...beware. They have a tendency to explode for no reason. I was on a desert highway with no vehicles in front of me and all of a sudden my sunroof/moonroof exploded. It sounded like a gun going off over my head and it nearly caused me to wreck it had shocked me so much. I did a little research and apparently this issue is an ongoing one with many other drivers reporting the exact circumstance. The Lexus corporate folks are very, very rude about this and will not help you or offer to pay for what is obviously a manufacturer defect.
Very sad to see they will not stand by their product. I will be seeking legal remedy but in the meanwhile, if you must buy a Lexus, stay away from the cars with the glass moonroofs. You could be driving and not only have a sudden shock that can scare the life out of you but if your interior moonroof shade is also open at the same time, you could get badly injured by the falling broken glass shards. Very dangerous.

This is my 2nd Lexus: my first one, ES 330 was a great car from mechanical to cosmetics! This 2nd, ES 350 is the poorest quality you can get! I was told by a service manager in N Miami, that the reason the interior materials (dash board, seats cover, cosmetically wood design, that all are falling apart), are made to disintegrate after a while! No kidding!!!? They actually do, I cannot even clean the interior because the board is jelly like, the seats covers are all broken after 2-3 years and the color will come off when you clean them, the wood design is flying up peeling as well everywhere, at 72 000 miles I had to replace the front direction and before, the steering wheel fell! And you would believe that for over $42000, you will buy a nice quality car! No, not anymore!
I was back in forth with Lexus via emails, I went to the dealer to show what is happening to the car, they said that I have to pay if I don’t like the way it looks! I called to have at least the dash board replace since is melting, but two customer service from Lexus Corporate said that the offer expired on March 31 this year and they won’t extend it, although they never told me about it when I went to the dealer or on our exchanged emails! Think twice if you planning to get a Lexus at this time: it is not the same quality or customer service as they started! A shame!

Lexus had huge issues with their dashboard, glove boxes and side arms in some models. My model was a LS460. The material used would literally melt, turn sticky and rub off in the sun or heat. They developed a program to fix their short-comings and I was told it would be fixed a couple yrs ago. I dropped off car, they said they would fix issue and did nothing. After several calls, with zero returns I went to dealer. Was told we will get you in and take care of it, nothing again. Went back and was told the offer had ended and I need to call corporate. Corporate said they would not fix and I could pay for it myself.
So, in summary, Lexus dropped the ball for over a yr and half thru a pandemic then would not make it right with a customer that has had about 10 of their cars in family over the years. Lexus only cares about selling their cars and obviously not keeping customers happy or doing what is right after their production failure with this certain issue. My advice is look elsewhere for your expensive vehicle purchase!

While in route to my clients home I started receiving Hybrid System Malfunction warnings, Pre-Collision Malfunction and Check Engine, immediately after that I received a warning to pull over to a safe place immediately and within .03 miles it automatically shut off without me being able to pull over to a safe place. By the second time, I went into the dealership and I spoke to the GM at the Lexus dealership in Orland about the car being very unsafe for me to drive because I never know when it’s going to just shut down on me and that I would like for Lexus to give me another car exactly like mine. I informed him the only reason I chose Lexus over the other high end cars was due to its safety history.
He informed me that the dealership aren’t able to mark my car as a lemon write off only Lexus corporation have the legal right to do that. I contacted Lexus corporation. Filled out all the required paperwork along with the service that had been performed on my vehicle due to my shutting off while driving. I later received a letter stating they reviewed my case. A few days after purchasing my 2018 ES 350 Lexus I noticed a fumey smell in the car after driving it for a few miles. The car was a certified used car so I thought maybe there were lingering scent from the previous owner, so I gave the interior of the car a thorough cleaning, but I couldn't get rid of the scent. I used all different types of air freshener but the fumes scent kept coming back, especially when I was driving on the highway. What really scared me was when I was transporting my daughter and she stated that, "Mom the smell inside your car makes me feel nauseated." I called the car dealership Lexus of Palm Beach immediately, I stated the problem and was told to bring the car in.
To my surprise Lexus has been aware of the problem since 2006. I was given a HVAC odor maintenance bulletin dated February 6th 2020, which stated that some 2006 to 2020 model year Lexus vehicles may exhibit odors that naturally occur from the HVAC system and/or related environmental factors. Although there is no way to eliminate these orders, follow the general procedure in this bulletin to minimize the order experience. I was told to purchase a charcoal AC filter with an AC refresher for $265 plus tax that may or may not minimize the order experienced.
The most shameful part of this experience with Lexus was that they were trying to convince me that other motor vehicle manufacturers had the same problem, The problem I see here is Lexus chose not to fix this problem. They have been aware of this problem since 2006 and they continue to manufacture vehicles with the same odor problem as of 2020. I have driven other cars that were not fume coffins, like this ES 350. Other automotive vehicle manufacturers choose to fix this problem. I bought this car because it was a Lexus and the name Lexus was associated with prestige and luxury. I now have a car, I still owe thousands of dollars that I cannot transport my children in. I have to drive the car because it's my only means of transportation but I feel unsafe in it every day I drive it.
I am so tired of corporations and people who work for these corporations that don't care about their customers and their safety. I bought a Lexus, I expected the best in luxury, before buying this car I drove a Kia. It did not have an odor issue so Kia found a way to fix the problem, why Lexus refuses to fix this fume odor issues. Shame on you Lexus Manufacturer.

After purchasing two Lexus’, I thought I would stick with the brand for a very long time. This will probably not be the case. After having a series of very negative experiences with my 17 RC350, I will most likely never buy another Lexus. A little while after purchasing the RC it started developing a tapping sound. This noise continued to get louder and I was able to hear it from inside the cabin of the vehicle. I was able to locate the noise coming from the mechanical fuel pump. I took it in to my local dealer for repair. They told me they were unable to duplicate the concern and the assistant service manager displayed no customer service skills whatsoever in any attempt to help me with my issue.
I contacted the Service manager the next business day and was able to come in and work with him and the diagnostic tech to duplicate this noise. We spent an hour test driving and listening to another RC they had on the lot. I was told to make another appointment and they would take another look at it. While it was in this time, the dealer involved the regional field specialist and dug deeper. I was ultimately told that even though they were able to duplicate this concern, it was normal operation.
I made a complaint with Lexus customer care and this complaint was escalated twice. Two of the three people I spoke to at Lexus were more interested in talking than actually listening to my concern and again showing any kind of customer service. This includes the last individual who was the highest executive level I could escalate this. They made it very apparent that they were not interested in assisting a repeat customer with a valid concern. They made it very clear that losing any further business was less important than repairing my fuel pump.
Lexus advertises their luxury vehicles to be the quietest on the road, but when you bring them a valid noise complaint they don’t want to honor the bumper to bumper factory warranty. This is the opposite of what I expect when I invest in a luxury car company most of all Lexus. I did quite a bit of my own independent research and determined that fuel pumps are a bit of a sore spot with Lexus and a bit of an Achilles heel.
My vehicle shares the same fuel pump as the IS and the GS. I was given a 2019 GS as a loaner vehicle and the fuel pump was at least 80% quieter. I was also able to determine that the fuel pump for all these cars has 4 successive part numbers. Lexus has obviously redesigned this part several times for important reasons. I am left to wonder if my generation was updated due to excessive noise. Ultimately the unwillingness of Lexus to take responsibility for their product and their customer service leaves me no other choice but to leave record of this and let others know what I have experienced.

I will never buy another Lexus vehicle. After receiving a recall notice, I waited to take it to the dealer because I was unsure if I was keeping this car. When it was decided to pass it down to my 3rd year medical student, daughter, because of the supposed reliability, I took the vehicle in for the repair. When I left there with a diagnosed timing cover leak, engine oil leak, that occurs in about 100% of these due to a manufacturing problem, and was notified of a $2,800 cost, my trust in this vehicle is over. Not only was that uncovered, but my daughter has complained of the navigation/electrical system shutting off/rebooting approx. 8 times in a 2 hour drive.
Jim Hudson Lexus service advisor said I needed an update for $186. Upon further review, I do not believe an update will help. I reached out to Lexus Corporate and after the case manager, finally, reached someone at Jim Hudson, this has been ongoing for about 3 weeks, she called to tell me that Jim Hudson could not create the navigation problem so they did not have a suggestion other than to leave the car with them for further diagnostics. Since the driver is a medical student, 2 hours away, this additional diagnosis time may not be a possibility. Also, she wanted to notify me that Lexus will not be able to help with the repair of the oil leak. After discovering the continued problems with these vehicles, not just the 7 year old ones but the 1 week old ones, I will remove Lexus from my possible cars to buy in the future. Please beware of any Lexus vehicle you are thinking of buying. I do not know how they receive such high ratings.

They had them on the GX460 Premium/Luxury trim ever since their 2010 redesign and even after the 2020 facelift they kept this feature on the Luxury edition...only to be dropped on a 2021! They're saving $100 on a $70k vehicle! Every other Lexus vehicle has them standard or available in a package except for the GX460 now! What's next Lexus??? Manual windows???
I wrote to Lexus about this and earlier today spoke to their "Case Manager" regarding this issue. First she said that "Lexus determines their vehicles features based on extensive research and consumer feedback"! Really??? Who are those "customers" that complained about their passenger side auto-dimming mirror preventing them from being blinded by a semi or an F-250??? But then it gets even more bizarre: she said that "it is not salesperson responsibility to inform customers about vehicle features"... OK! Who's job is it?
So according to her, it was my job to somehow suspect that Lexus would decide to drop this feature from a vehicle that had it on every MY starting from 2010-2013 (Premium) and then from 2014-2019 (Luxury) and it stayed on the 2020 redesign on the Luxury trim!!! I was supposed to suspect that it would be dropped for 2021... because..?? I'm sorry, but this was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. Good deal Lexus! You saved your nickel... As I am often in my car alone, the idea of having a car that will not leave me stranded by the side of the road is paramount. I noticed initially, however, with my most recent car purchased new, the 2014 model, that it was not as quiet as my first Lexus.
I let that past not attributing it to a decline in overall quality. However, I was wholly unprepared for the wholesale failure without warning of my transmission after only 74,000 miles leaving me stranded on the side of the road. I was lucky to make it to a surface street as the failure occurred on the highway. This was a car, as was the case with each of my prior purchases, that had each and every service recommended, all done by a Lexus dealer. However, I could have saved myself a tremendous amount of money, both in terms of initial outlay and maintenance cost, with a much cheaper car and received the same result. This is my LAST Lexus and last Toyota made car.

When we returned to our main residence in Florida we took the vehicle to the dealership we purchased it from for a checkup and presented them the bill for replacing the alternator. The service representative said they would submit it to Lexus for reimbursement and we should get a check within a few weeks.
Weeks passed and finally, we received a call from our rep saying we would have to deal directly with Lexus Corporation. The corporate office made us jump from hoop to hoop while knowing full well they had no intentions of reimbursing us because we didn’t use a “certified Lexus mechanic”. Lexus has always touted themselves as a “customer comes first” company. Clearly, these core values have gone by the wayside. Additionally, their quality control that they have always prided themselves in has totally gone down the tubes. I explained this is a safety issue as the metallic has peeled and now there are shards of this metal pieces throughout the console and the response above was what I received. I am going to escalate and go to all social media on this. BEWARE They are not standing behind there brand anymore.

I recently purchased my 2019 GX 460 Lexus from Lexus of Pembroke Pines. I have returned it twice, with complaints that the Navigation is not working correctly. Each time I take it back they insist that "It is functioning like the other vehicles that they have in stock." Which is unacceptable. The Navigation system gives the wrong directions. For example, If I am traveling and the expressway, it doesn't recognize that I am on the expressway and tells me that the expressway is approaching on the left, then 1 mile later, it will say the expressway is approaching in the right; when in fact, I am traveling on the expressway.
Yesterday, it gave me the wrong directions and I ended up under a bridge, completely lost. This is very frustrating and is a safety concern. I have been advised by an attorney to take the vehicle back once more, and if the problem is not resolved, I will be forced to take legal action. I am certain that there are numerous consumers there with the same complaint.

This review is not about a dealership experience or tires. This is a decision that Lexus and Enform made consciously and won’t rectify. In certain model years of the GX 460 Lexus requires you to have a couple of paid subscriptions to use remote start. Now I get and fully understand the need for on-going service with the app that uses cellular signals to remote start, unlock, lock all that jazz via the app. However, to disable the key fob from working direct from fob to truck and have it require a subscription is bs! This vehicle already lacks in so many ways (i.e. terrible infotainment, worst navigation, etc.). This is just a pathetic choice on their behalf.
You can experience a painfully slow touchscreen before you buy it and decide if you want to live with that on a $60k truck or not. When you buy you get a year of Enform service so you can’t experience the issue I’ve stated until after the subscription runs out and you then learn about this poor software choice made. Apparently it has caused enough attention that they stopped doing it for 2019+ but have no plans to retrofit a few years (maybe 2016-2018). I don’t know all years impacted as even Enform reps know jack about this. Shame on whatever genius department has their grubby hands in this.

First of all, this is my first ever negative review for any company. Unfortunately, based-on what has just happened to us, I felt an obligation to at least warn others. Lexus doesn’t stand by their brand, and ultimately won’t take care of loyal customers even when your car is still somewhat in warranty. We’ve owned two other Lexuses over the past 15 years and have proclaimed we would only buy Lexus going forward for life. Our 2014 RX350 (purchased in 2015 at 28k miles) had a 100k mile warranty or Sept. 2020 expiration. We are just under 130,000 miles on the vehicle and our engine is completely gone (just 6-year old car).
We spent over $300 for the diagnostic test alone at the dealership at the request of the manufacturer to validate the assessment of a trusted third party repair shop who told us that the engine was shot and would need to be replaced costing $10K. The Lexus dealership provided an estimate over $6K to fix an engine with the disclaimer that more parts may be needed after tearing it down (assuming the cost is going to be much more). This is not even a new engine replacement. All regular maintenance has been done faithfully at an independent and reputable auto service business.
Lexus manufacturer has completely refused to help in any way even though a representative at the dealership says they never see this happen in these models. Our car is unfortunately not worth more than $13,000 and the cost of repairs simply don’t make sense. Lexus doesn’t stand behind its product and have definitely tarnished it’s reputation as a brand. We would have probably spent at least $300k more in our lifetime on Lexus vehicles and passed down the current vehicle to our daughter because of their perceived reliability and quality. This is not the case!!!!
They washed it all away for simply not replacing our engine this once or even helping in some way (they didn’t even reimburse us for the diagnostic test they requested to consider the issue). Lexus should be ashamed, and I hope this review helps someone else avoid this situation in the future. Lexus, don’t brag about your product reliability, customer service, and commitment to customer's satisfaction. Going forward we will chose to do business with a company with more integrity and honesty.

The garage door opener on my new RX350 opens the door from inside the garage, and closes the door when sitting directly in front of the garage. But with the door closed it won't open the door. I have a $12 mobile opener clipped to my visor. Service department sent out a tech to verify that I had the opener programmed correctly. IT worked for him one time, but then wouldn't work for me. He came back and couldn't get it to work. I think the signal is just weak, or the antenna is not hooked up. But I don't like not being able to open the garage door with my $53k car. I'm sure this is not a common problem for Lexus but I'd like to see some resolution to this problem.

One month later, the front seats are now worse than the back seats. Both the dealership and Lexus Company will not stand behind product. If I could rate 0 stars I would. I lease a Lexus IS300Fsport, I have had it for about 1 1/2 years now and I have had several issues with my car and Lexus does not care about trying to fix my problems. I'll start with when taking it in for oil change and regular service I advised them that my rear passenger tire had a problem because it was losing air and I was having to fill the tire every two weeks. I was told on 3 separate occasions there was nothing wrong with the tire. In December on my way to a meeting 2 hours away from home on the Turnpike I had a blow out on that tire. As of today I am still waiting for the service manager of the Fort Pierce location to call me back.
When taking the car to a tire place I was informed that all 4 tires needed to be replaced as they were all cracked/dry rotted. This car is only 1 1/2 years old and has 25,000 miles. I was then shown that I needed brakes in the front. I spent $1,700.00 for tires and brakes on a new car. I have had many cars in my time and have never had to replace tires and brakes that soon and that low mileage. When I called the corporate office their response was that it was not uncommon. How is that even possible. They had no interest in helping me.
On December 25, 2019 I got in the car to find a very nasty wet odor, I proceeded to feel the carpets and found that the passenger back carpet and under the seat was very wet, I dropped it off to the Kendal dealership as I was down there and going out of town. They had my car for 17 days. Never called to update me about the car nor called at any time to tell me what they were trying to do. I called every two days and got no information. After 17 days they called to tell me that they could not find anything and that I needed to pay them because they took the passenger seat out (without calling me to let me know this). By the way the car is under warranty.
After 17 days I picked up my car with the same wet smell and wet carpet with them telling me I must have left a window open which I did not! They would not even dry it out for me which I asked them to do so that I could see if it happened again. I left the dealership and noticed that the cover plate underneath the car was not attached and was dragging, I went right back for them to tell me that it was not a big deal. It just needed to be clipped on, well why would the service person not do that before taking the car down off the lift. I then get home and it was dark at this point, but the next morning I woke to see that my driver side rim is destroyed!! I called the dealer immediately to advise them of this for them to tell me the manager was on a business trip and would return Saturday 1/18.
I am at this point still waiting for him/her to call me back to discuss this matter. This is a lease and I can not turn the car in with a destroyed rim nor do I want to drive a $50,000 car that is only 1 1/2 years old with a destroyed rim. I am so disappointed in Lexus product but even more so with their staff/managers at more than one location. I would advise anyone thinking of getting a Lexus to spend your money elsewhere. I have been the owner of very expensive sports cars and have never had problems like this. The worst part is that Lexus does not even care! I guess that is what you can do when you are such a big cooperation. My daughter in law was either buying my lease out when it came time or getting a Lexus. I have advised her not to do either.... Very unhappy customer!

I recently purchased a 2019 Lexus ES 350. I have owned the car for 4 months now. When I originally purchased the car I advised my sales person that the rear speakers were not working. Of course she said yes they are and did some minor adjustments. Then my husband and I were joyriding and he realized there was no output from the rear speakers. So I called Lexus, made an appointment and took the car in for service.
Later that day I received a call from the service advisor, advising me there was a problem with the woofer and the speakers but there was nothing they could do about. He stated, "We are aware there is an issue but we are waiting on lexus." So I responded, "You guys are aware there is an issue with the car but you are not notifying the consumer before purchasing a car?" He replied, "It looks that way; but as soon as we get a resolution we will inform you."
So next I called corporate and spoke with a call center representative and then a supervisor who stated the same thing. "We are aware of the problem and will notify you when we have a resolution." Now the problem I have with that is that Lexus has yet to inform or notify the consumer publicly that there is an issue the 2019 Lexus ES350. Instead they are continuing to take our money and we are left to deal with problem. That is so unfair.
I have done my research and there have been numerous complaints with no resolution. I would love to expose LEXUS for not addressing this issue nor notifying the public. I am so frustrated and hurt. I just want my car fixed in a timely fashion and not to have other consumers ripped off or taken advantage of. Please call me (**)or respond to me via email to investigate Lexus.

Toyota hits a home run every year with the flagship Lexus LS460. The car is put together flawlessly. The mechanical parts roar and purr and make reassuring sounds as the interior parts cuddle you in refined comfort. I have well over 200,000 miles on my 2007 model and no intention of trading it in the near future. In most ways this classic machine is just getting broken in about now. I have followed all recommended service calls, both in and now long out of warranty, and been rewarded with a vehicle that still rules the road. It shines almost as brilliantly after a good wash now as it did right off the showroom floor. I could not be happier with how it just continues to amaze me with its durability and reliability. Yeah, the sticker shock is difficult, but 12 years later it is barely but a memory of a tremendous decision. Thank you, Lexus.

Lexus reliability and service is mostly what I recommend. We own two Lexus and going forward, will probably always own Lexus vehicles. They are comfortable riding and driving with almost no road noise. The instrument panel and in dash navigation system and music system is very good. AND, the handling and responsiveness of the vehicle. We had an issue with our Lexus SUV in that the front end alignment would not stay in place for even a month. We went on line and saw that several Lexus owners had reported the problem. Lexus worked with us to find a solution and shouldered the cost of fixing the problem. The proposed solution worked and the fact that they covered the cost was a very pleasant surprise. Yes the car was under manufacturer's warranty, but past experience has been that the dealership finds a reason why is not a warranty issue and passes the cost onto the car owner.

I never thought of owning a premium vehicle. The track record of this company (Toyota) indicates a real commitment to quality that is built in. I might have bought the Highlander but I didn't. No remorse here. For a luxury vehicle the ride is a little bit harsh, but I like that, it handles well for a big vehicle. It is fast, much faster than the 4.0l ford ranger it replaced. Fuel economy? Meh, not great at 20mpg on average. The 3.5l V-6 is already a legend being in production a very long time. The six speed automatic is very nice and inspires confidant driving. Comfortable? Oh yeah, the heated (or cooled) leather seats more than make up for any road harshness.
In a word this RX350 is fabulous. I have the base model and it sure is well equipped BUT, to tell the truth I do not find the infotainment system all that user friendly and as such, about the only part I use is the radio, not the Sirius radio. Lexus demands some big money to keep updates fresh, so they can keep it. I would rather use my Android phone. The market seems to favor SUV's. If you're in that market, be sure to test drive a new or used (pre owned) RX350. While you're at it check the resale prices on a ten year old model of your choice.

Lexus Corporate sent out an inspector to exam our car, but couldn't find anything. Lexus will not help us.
On Sunday, November 17th, we were driving back in heavy traffic. The traffic came to a quick stop and my husband again had the same brake issue. Fortunately, he was able to swerve to the shoulder to miss the car in front of him. We are beyond frustrated, as the next time the result could be an accident resulting in an injury or worse. My wife purchased her second new Lexus SUV in 2013 and was a diehard Lexus repeat customer. Her new Lexus RX450H is an expensive luxury class vehicle, and she justifiably had expectations that it would be a safe, reliable, and comfortable vehicle. It turned out that it is none of the above, and furthermore the Lexus people not only don’t stand behind their product, but knowingly deceive their customers regarding the quality of their products at the time of purchase.
This vehicle and many other Lexus models have a faulty evaporator component in the air conditioning system which drains condensation into the cabin causing mildew and bacteria to develop and grow. We became aware of this after the terrible smell inside the vehicle became noxious. The Henderson, Nevada dealership where we purchased changed the filters at our cost and the problem persisted.
Eventually, we learned that Lexus was aware of the vehicle’s defect when they sold us the car. Now, there are class action suits against Lexus for this specific defect, and the corporate office’s refusal to remedy the defect. While the corporate office acknowledges the defect and has issued several Technical Service Bulletins, or TSBs, which gave guidance to the dealerships and suggested specific language to placate the customers concerns, no recall has been made and Lexus admits they do not have a plan to fix the defect.
After numerous attempts to resolve the issue on our part we have not received satisfaction in resolution of this defect. The corporate office claims resolution lies with the dealership, and vice versa. What is dispositive is that Lexus products are not the reliable vehicle they once had a reputation as, and after sale customer service is deplorable. So, look a little further if you are considering the purchase of a Lexus in the luxury vehicle market.

The cost to replace it with a used engine and no warranty is $8,049.49 and the cost to replace for a new engine is $14,985. I was told to remove my car from their parking lot within a few days. I talked to Lexus customer rep Cindy and Lis ** complaint #**, she told me to get my car towed or transported to Lexus of Wilmington to further analyze the engine malfunctions (I have already spent $120 diagnosis fee, and $100 in towing charges). Why I need to further waste more money for towing to Lexus of Wilmington, plus their diagnosis fee, when it has already been determined by a professional Engineer that there is no compression in the engine, Radiator is leaking, water pump and battery is discharged.
Since I no longer have any reliable transportation, I have turned to public transport to go to doctor's appointments, and receiving rides from my neighbors to run daily errands like food. I have depleted my savings funneling money into this so-called world class Lexus, now I have no money left to buy any new vehicles. I have been a Lexus owner for over 20 years. I have purchased x4 Lexus vehicles. One sedan and x3 GX460. I started hearing rumors that the service was not that great anymore and that calling the corporate office was a waste of time. I can attest that all of the above is true. My radiator burst while driving. This caused my engine to overheat and blow the head gasket. I did not know the engine had a problem because my emission system had the engine light on.
I had an appointment to fix the recalled emissions on 10.13.19. My engine blew on 10.6.19. The engine was supposed to shut down when overheated. It did not. I did not know because the engine light was on from the emission system recall. I called Corporate for assistance. $10,000 repair minimum. They were COLD AND IMPERSONAL. Basically they told me it was my problem. They don't stand behind their brand anymore and I can't be loyal to a brand that is not loyal to me. NO MORE LEXUS FOR ME.

Called in yesterday to a Brisbane Lexus dealer to get a value on my 2017 Lexus ES350. The vehicle is 27 months old, in pristine condition, has just had its 2 year service and has under 18,000 klms on the clock. I was offered "in the low $30k" should I want to sell it. WOW! How can a vehicle be devalued by over 50% in just over 2 years? No wonder buyers are looking more to buying demo or second-hand vehicles. Maybe it would make good financial sense to check the resale value of BMW, Audi or Mercedes before looking at a Lexus. I am still in a state of shock!

2017 RX450H been horrible since car- and horrible service dept- nothing like my 2007 Rx400H - vehicle quality and service is apparently no longer a priority to the Lexus company or their service departments. Windshield wiper sensor has never worked properly-- took them 2 yrs to figure out that "sometimes the windshield protectant affects it"... And then a month after this fix I have a interior leak coming from dash -- they claim from a spider??? Hmmm..? And spiders not covered under warranty... I'm left with a stinky car and a $700. Fix.
Gas door sometimes does not open. It takes 2 people to hold the button on pry the door open. They are in the process of rescale/fix... Really? And this is a very expensive "luxury" car??? LEXUS REMOTE START is a piece of junk and they will lie and tell you it's the only way to start your car- $8.00 month. You canstart from the fob... Click Lock twice and in third-time long press lock button for more than 3 seconds. The indicators will start blinking and the SUV will start. That's when I realized if they will lie about that they will lie about anything... No longer the company they had been. As soon as I pick up the pile of junk from the repair shop I'm trading it in.

I've been a Lexus owner for many years but recently got a shock on the service charge.. Very high compared to previous services. On examination, most things listed were 'checked' and the supposed listing of 'balanced all wheels' I'm told by insider staff did not take place, as did a number of other things. It's likely less than 2 hours was spent on the service but they charged the full service fee. On top of that there is an unexplained miscellaneous charge. I doubt many of the things listed took more than a min or 2 and the labour charge is inflated. I suspect these costs are deliberately inflated motivated by greed, personal bonuses etc and it seems to me that Lexus has changed its approach from providing clear and reasonable service to customers to one of ripping them off and not caring at all.
Owners should be told in advance of the basic cost of a service and not be surprised by large charges, and clearer explanations should be given. This is the norm for any service e.g. visiting the Dr or any other professional or trade services. There seems to be an attitude at Lexus that 'it's a prestige car, therefore customers should pay more'. Some friends and colleagues also with Lexus cars have found the same.. ie increase in charges without notice and the lack of pre service consultation. Lexus used to have my loyalty and trust.. No more..

A Lexus dealership advised that my vehicle needs a new transmission and again the car is only 6yrs old. I spoke with a case manager who said there was nothing she could do about it. I asked to escalate the complaint and was told management had already made the decision. I asked to speak to someone in management and was told "management doesn't speak to customers". What horrible customer service from Lexus if this is indeed true. I will never purchase another Lexus and can't wait to get rid of this car. I will also make sure those close to me do not have to deal with the same amount of frustration and advised them to not waste their money on a Lexus because they don't care about their customers. Not only did my husband's vehicle just die and leaving him stranded on the side of the road, but when the roadside assistance came to help. They ended up towing his vehicle to a dealership and the closest one to us is 2 hours away. So it is not fixed and we are having issue with them getting it back to us. Mind you we have no loaner car or anything, so how is he suppose to get his car that is 2 hours away?? We called Lexus customer service multiple times today and can’t get anywhere. They should have told us if it was towed to the dealership that they wouldn’t bring it back, you would think after you pay all this money on a new vehicle that we have had for 1 year and is under warranty that there would be something in place for this situation instead everyone is clueless.
I have a Cadillac and was looking to get a new car next month and thought about getting a Lexus, but let me tell you I will hands down stay with Cadillac just because of the outstanding customer service I get. This model is well known for his faulty ABS actuator and Lexus would not want to replace it saying that you are out of the warranty time frame of 5 months (Despite the very low mileage that you have), when they know for sure the car was made with a faulty part (which is why they extended the warranty on it in the first place). That is very low coming from Lexus. They are supposed to be one of the world class customer service especially considering the price of their product. Like I said, I've learned my lesson. Brand new car today (2019 ES 350 with luxury package). Beautiful ride and handling. Sound system is HORRIBLE. I dare you to try and get adequate sound from rear speakers! With the 'fader' it's all or nothing. If you toggle to get more volume from the rear, the front speakers cut out completely. The sound was just as good in cars I owned during the 70's. I bought the car in Brossard (South Shore, Montreal). First thing I noticed is that there were 188 kilometers on the "new" car (about 140 miles). That's like driving half-way from Montreal to NYC!
Then, I had trouble loading a CD to listen to the sound. Turns out there was already a CD in it... Rap Music, to boot! I can only imagine where this "new" car has been before I got in it. Dealer (Gabriel Lexus) didn't give a damn... I was told simply to "enjoy the car..." My first stop was the car wash, where I got the guys to clean the windshield of film and streaks. Previously, I owned 16 Nissans and Infinitis in a row (sixteen vastly better experiences!). I hope I feel better about LEXUS tomorrow, after a good night sleep.

I've read many of the reviews here and so sorry to hear of so many "horror stories" when dealing with Lexus. My wife and I own two, both 2015s: A GS350 and an RX350. The ironic part.... we bought them from a terrific local Carmax, not the local Lexus dealer. Both extremely low miles and in pristine condition; both bought in 2018. We LOVE the cars.
Now.... the Lexus dealer here in Raleigh, NC is Johnson Lexus and, even though we didn't purchase the vehicles from them, they have been nothing short of fantastic in their dealings with us. They literally bend over backward to make their customers happy; prompt, fair, efficient, and GOOD service on our vehicles. Friendly, helpful staff. Do things for free very often. Just aces. So the moral of the story, IMHO, is it really comes down to the quality of the dealership you have in your area. If you're lucky enough to get a dealer like we have in Raleigh at Johnson Lexus.... you're good to go. If not? Potential nightmares. Guess the "warning" to potential Lexus buyers is this: Spend a LOT of time researching both the car AND the dealership before you act.

My sons car hit a bump in the road, went airborne and when he came down, he didn't want to hit the other car that was racing him, so he overcorrected the other way, hit a curb and rolled the 2007 Lexus 350 6 times. Lexus of Kendall dealer said if I maintain my car with them they will fight for me should there be any problem with the manufacturer in the future, so I did. Well, I reported a defect in the backseat leather shortly after my 25k maintenance appointment November 2016 while my car was under warranty. The backseat perforated leather dried and shrunk causing tension on the rest of the seat. It feels very rough and hard to the touch. The manager at the dealer took photographs, and said he will contact the manufacturer. After several months of leaving messages with Lexus of Kendall operator and voicemails I was told the manager no longer works there, and another manager (Bernardo) took over his work.
I came in person to meet with new manager March 2017, by which point the problem area became larger, and same problem started to happen on the other side. He took more photos, said it's not a Lexus defect because on one side it is "perfect circle". I contacted corporate, submitted photos, and they asked Bernardo to weigh in. He said I caused the damage but could not explain how, and if there was a defect in the leather he would not be able to tell unless the leather was taken off and he can examine the back side of it. Corporate said I will need an expert in leather to run tests and determine the cause. I have never heard of such a response for warranty coverage. They denied to fix my car while under the warranty. I contacted the 3rd party dispute resolution address, provided by Lexus, several times with no reply.
I purchased the car used with 6k miles in 2013 in perfect condition. Since then I rarely used or had passengers in the backseat. When I did have passengers the trips were short, just a few blocks in the city, and my passengers are slim. My car is stored under a carport, in a garage when I am at work, and my windows are tinted so the inside temperature does not get hot often. I have had others cars such as Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Honda over 100k miles and much older that did not have such quality issues even with daily use. My Lexus has premium leather with Luxury package, it should withstand at minimum light use. The problem from initial report to current has grown in size, and continues to grow. Terrible dealer customer service and misinformation, terrible experience with corporate. First and last Lexus. Photos from March 2017 and Feb 2019 are attached.

Every statistic and fact out there indicates that service gives any company a competitive advantage, and the lack of it can be the demise of the business. When did money become first over the customer? When did customer service get so bad? I didn't expect this from Lexus. Especially since Lexus takes proud in their service and their name. I called customer service because I was told to by the service manager at my local dealership. Only with the intention of them helping me with a solution to my problem. My SD card slot cover is missing. Unfortunately for me Lexus doesn't sale this part individually. You have to buy a new stereo which cost $2389.00.
After a few days I was told by my case manager that they find a way to help me and the dealership would be contacting me. A few minutes later she called back and said that she was told to advise me to go to a pick and pull and remove the part from a damaged car. I was truly upset and belittled at this point. So I asked for a Supervisor. The Supervisor called me back and welcomed me to the Lexus family and asked me how she could help. I explained to her what happened and she explained that the part wouldn't be covered under warranty. She called back and stated she talk to the service manager at the dealership and since I bought a used I was responsible for the missing part. Ok, that's exactly what you told me yesterday. I told her I wanted to know who advised me to go to pick and pull. She was more focused on my car being used then helping me.
My car is still under warranty. It's still a Lexus what does it matter if its use? When I asked her for the service manager's name she couldn't even tell me who she talked to. Which tells me she didn't look into anything. I called the dealership and the service manager said they would never recommend anyone to pick and pull. I truly believe that the service manager didn't his best to help me. I called the exclusive office to see if they could explain to me who advised me to go to pick and pull. Days later I finally got a callback. I was told that it wasn't nothing in the notes that stated that I was advised that. I asked if the calls are recorded if it could be pull for review. No call was recorded she said. How funny is that? So did I just make this all help?? Again no help!!
The people that I talked to have Very Poor Customer service skills and are in need of a lot of training. I never got an apology for being told that the dealership would replace the missing part by mistake. What's the point of having a customer service department if they can't help the customer but only make things worse. Customers want an easy experience. No hassle and no friction. Customers want to deal with knowledgeable professional people. Customers want a friendly experience. People want to be treated like people. After all, they are people – not account numbers. Use customers’ names whenever possible. Look for opportunities to build rapport and break the ice. Show that you care. That’s what friendly people (and businesses) do. Response: "Our decision is not to cover even though only one week past warranty. Also our records indicate that you later started to replace oil at other places." What oil has to do with bad exhaust? "It is our decision."
I had many cars over the years including Toyotas and replaced exhaust on many of them. Some at 150k miles and above. Parts were expensive, but not that expensive. In another instance headlight was damaged. Part cost $2000. It has 2 motors in it to adjust in horizontal and vertical plane, but still it is ridiculous price. I am technical and very handy. Always serviced cars myself. My conclusion is that they are reliable, but complicated cars. Chances to fail are greater in this setup. Therefore in my opinion for long term ownership quality and performance is not enough anymore to justify cost of long ownership or Lexus policies. Lease - maybe, but then return and lets Lexus eat them all.

WORST SERVICE EVER. I called to cancel my Lexus Enform service in July, after I sold the vehicle. I was reassured the service was canceled and there would be no future charges. They charged my credit card in October again. I called and was repeatedly disconnected by various associates trying to transfer me to someone who could help. Calling back the 5th time I was told that there was no charge to my account because they did not have a record. I was on hold for over 30 mins. They demanded documentation of proof of sale of vehicle to cancel the service. Do not sign up for this service or provide them with a credit card!!! You will be charged even after your service is canceled, your car sold etc.

I own a 2009 Lexus RX350 with a cracked dashboard. Lexus sent a letter that extended the warranty on the vehicle for 10 years however the crack occurred shortly after that time (within a few months). I spoke to the corporate office and they indicated that since we didn't bring the vehicle into the Lexus dealership for service there was no ability to honor the warranty extension. Clearly their dashboards were defective and the cracks in my case happened after the 10 years were up (which is logical as the dashboard ages). I wasn't expecting Lexus to be strong armed and quibble over a few months in the interest of good customer service. No help from the Lexus corporate office. I'm looking at buying a new car and will be bringing my business elsewhere, i.e. Audi / Infinity.

I brought my wife’s 2002 in for regular service to Palm Beach Lexus. It needed tires and some maintenance, which I authorized. After doing the initial work that I had authorized for around $2,500 they sent me an estimate for approximately $8,500 for items they said also needed repair. One of the items they claimed was faulty, was the engine mounts. Since the car only had 66,000 miles on it, I found that hard to believe since they had replaced the engine mounts previously when the car had about 38,000 miles. My wife and I have been Palm Beach Lexus customers for around 20 years and we have purchased 4 Lexus SUVs from them. We have had good service up until 2-3 years ago when they changed service managers, since then the service has gone downhill. We then took the vehicle to an independent repair shop to see what additional service was actually needed.
They came to the conclusion that 50% of the estimate that Palm Beach Lexus gave us, was not at all necessary. They claimed the engine mounts were in like new condition and many of the other items on the estimate were absolutely not necessary. I obviously was upset and called Lexus Guest Experience Center and spoke to Eric ** a case manager. He said that since the vehicle was out of warranty they couldn't and wouldn’t do anything to help and he did not seem at all concerned that the Lexus dealership was inflating estimates. He said since we were good Lexus customers he would give us a $1,500 three month Good Will Offer to purchase or lease another Lexus. I received and filed the Good Will email offer because I was planning on turning in my 2016 RX450H for a new vehicle. Two months later I started shopping for a new Lexus at a different dealership because I was not about to use Palm Beach Lexus.
When I looked at the Good Will Offer the expiration date was dated the same date I spoke to the case manager (Eric **). I again called Lexus Guest Experience and ended up speaking with someone else. I told that person I was very disappointed that no one ever followed up on my original claim regarding the false estimate I was give from Palm Beach Lexus. And to make matters worse I was also given a Good Will Offer that expired in one day. That person told me I had to speak with Eric ** the original case manager and he would call me back. Eric ** called me back a few days later and seemed to have a bad attitude. I told him I was in the process of leasing or buying a new Lexus and would appreciate it if they could extend the offer. He said the Good Will Offer was only good for 3 months and he would not extend the offer.
He said when the offer expires they would review it. Obviously, I was not very happy with his response. A few weeks later, I found a new 2019 Lexus RX450H at J M Lexus that I was planning to get, so I called Eric ** to get the Good Will Offer authorized. It took him a few days to get back to me and when he did he said he wouldn’t authorize the Good Will Offer until after I purchase the new vehicle. I told him that was unacceptable and I wanted to speak with someone else. He said he is the only one that makes that decision. I told him I was going to write a letter to Lexus Headquarters and he said go ahead, but it’s just going to come back to me. After all this I have no intention of ever purchasing another Lexus.

I bought a Lexus IS 250 then being Active Duty Military I got notice I had to deploy just a couple short months after I bought it. My manufacturer’s warranty expired while I was Deployed. There was a bulletin put out about a known problem to fix under warranty vehicles for condensation in the driver’s side headlight. I get back and come up due for an annual state inspection and the car fails due to the condensation. Lexus refuses to Good Will fix the headlight even though the warranty expired during my deployment.
I have low mileage only 37,000 miles on the car and they still wouldn’t consider that. I pleaded that they be sensitive to the fact I can control if I’m deployed and the warranty expired while I was gone. Now I’m expected to pay full price over 2 grand for a known condensation issue with a headlight. I expected better from this company. They care nothing for Military. Most businesses are far more accommodating. I’ll gladly trade in my Lexus at Honda.

REMOVAL OF A BUMPER STICKER. YEP, $150.00 because they didn't say "hey you might want to remove that sticker - the finance guy who looks over the vehicle is a real **". Nope just turned over keys - thank you very much and then one month later sent me a bill that I called on to figure out $150.00 for what? Did you have a 26.2 sticker on your car? "Yes". Well that's what the charge is for - removal" ARE YOU GUYS SERIOUS!
Wrote to the higher ups - called the people who I leased the vehicle from and no one cared and no one returned phone calls. Then had the balls to send to a collection agency. Protection plan $2,000 - one month early - under mileage that I paid for upfront! Perfect condition. So you know what screw you Lexus. I paid the $150.00 and I will tell my friends and then they will tell theirs and so on and so on about how unfair you guys were to a client. So maybe you won't post on your precious Lexus Facebook page without your people reviewing but I can post here and I can tell the world! Maybe that's my satisfaction and of course never ever lease/buy a Lexus.

Lexus overnight-ed parts from California to get me back on the road.
Original Review: Nov. 13, 2018
We leased a new 2018 NX300 at the beginning of April 2018 in Kingston Ontario Canada this year and in August while driving to town my wife hit a deer taking out the grill and camera, etc. It is now November and it's still not fixed. The reason: parts on backorder. How can a brand new vehicle have parts on backorder? First a fog light, then an electronic component for the lane departure. The list goes on. Four months to repair a vehicle due to parts on backorder.
The local dealer won't answer my emails, won't answer my phone calls all because I'm getting upset with how this is handled and the length of time it takes. Not to mention I'm paying a lease on a vehicle we can't access. We made the mistake of leasing two Lexus vehicles but I promise this will be rectified when the lease concludes. I"LL NEVER LEASE ANOTHER LEXUS ANYTHING.

When I picked my car up, while driving home, which is about 10-15 minutes away, I noticed my brake light was on and before I could get home my car cut off and would not start. I immediately called Lexus of North Miami and was told by the service advisor that they did nothing wrong and I would have to bring my car back to the shop. I told him how and that my battery was dead, car wont stay started. I asked if he could call roadside service to come and get my car. It didn't seem to matter to him as he said no and I'd we find that the alternator and battery is dead, you will have to pay. I was in shock and disbelief bc I had just left there no more than 15 minutes ago.
But what was more shocking was when I called back to speak with the Manager over Service, he had the same reaction, and seemed uninterested in the fact that I had just left the dealer and now my car wont start. Now I'm upset and was in disbelief and highly disappointed that both service advisor and Manager of Service did not try to solve the problem and did not send roadside assistance to pick up my car. They showed no concern in the fact that my car was not working! And to make things worse, they said, "When you bring your car in and we're find it's the alternator or the battery, you have to pay for it, we're not liable." Oh my, could not believe this! This is suppose to be a upscale business that specializes in satisfying their customers. Well not only was I not satisfied, but I felt totally helpless. I will never bring my car back to the Lexus of North Miami ever again! Horrible customer satisfaction service!

In Honolulu Hawaii - Driving one weekend, my Lexus RC350 just dies on the street. Nothing works and finally I give up and tow my car to Lexus. On Monday I call Lexus and talk to the service manager Bryan. He informs me that when the car got towed they couldn't start but as of this morning, car starts fine and they can't identify what the problem was. He informs me that the technician will run tests to find out what happened and get back to me. I wait a week and nobody calls me. I call Lexus back and was told Bryan was out for lunch and that he will call me back. No call back that day. Meanwhile, I am not even offered a loaner and taking Taxi to and from work on my own expense. I call back Lexus and ask for loaner and told there's none available.
I end up complaining and miraculously they get a test model that I can use. Basic IS model which is not the same level as what I'm paying for but I didn't complain as I thought it was for a short time. However, if there's a test model car they can offer as a loaner, shouldn't I have been offered this from Day 1 instead of after few calls? Anyway, I get my loaner and feel better that at least now I have a way of transportation. Another Week goes by while I wait patiently and don't hear back so AGAIN call Lexus. At this point I'm told that they still can't identify the problem and running more tests. I told the manager that I understand the situation but would appreciate some type of communication back as they make progress.
Of course on phone I'm given the "yes absolutely". I had a business trip so end up not being bothered for 10 days and get back to Hawaii. Meanwhile I had my phone but never did get a call back. Another several days go by without a call which now my car has been in the shop for a month. Can't get in touch with Bryan and the receptionist tells me she will take message so I explain to her the situation and tell her that I just need someone to keep me updated. Nobody calls me back. By now, it's nearly 6 weeks and I am just astonished at the bad customer service. I end up calling Lexus and explaining the entire situation to the receptionist and asking for the GM. I didn't get a call back from GM but the Asst GM calls me and finally some light at the end of the tunnel. He tells me that he wants to help and was apologetic. He tells me that technician needs to run more tests.
I end up telling him that I want to get out of the lease so I can be done with and move on. Once I mention terminating my lease, GM ends up calling me few days later and tells me that I only have several months left so he won't release me from my lease. He offers me one month lease waiver as compensation. Finally after 2 months, I get a callback and told my car is fixed. I go to Lexus excited to finally put this long 2 month battle to an end and the cashier tells me I owe almost $900. I tell him that it's covered in the lease/warranty and there's no way I'm paying for it. With attitude, he tells me "well you can talk to the service manager". Bryan who never returned my calls comes and tells me that it's their mistake.
At this point, I am just disgusted with their communication process and tell him to ask the GM to call me back. No return call for several days so I call back and speak to another manager and he tells me that the GM had family emergency and is not in the office. Finally after another several days, GM calls me back. I explain the situation again with being told to pay and the cashier attitude and now demanded that I don't pay for 2 months which he tells me he can't do because I was given a loaner. I'm only asking for 2 months to be waived as I didn't get the car I'm paying for and to be compensated for all the time I wasted plus the frustration I had to put up with. I have 2 Lexus at the moment and there will be no more Lexus for me the way it's going.

Lexus had issues with brake actuators so the warranty was extended and letters were sent. If you didn't have a problem during the warranty period no action was required and no action would be taken on the vehicle. The warning came up on the dash after the extended warranty was over. We were told by the Dealership Service Manager that Lexus Corporate had always helped in the past on this issue so We had the work done at the Lexus dealership, about $3,500. When Lexus Corporate was contacted the Lexus case manager said they would have to look into it. They called back my cell but left no message at all. I called back but the case manager was unavailable, and I was told they would call back. This same process repeated several times. Finally, I was able to speak with the case manager and was told the policy is strict and nothing is done on extended warranty after the warranty period is over.
Why were we not told of the unbending policy from the beginning? To the contrary we were told that Lexus had always covered this issue out of warranty in the past. We could have taken the car for the repairs somewhere else and saved money but were led to believe Lexus would probably provide full relief. Why is Lexus charging full price and making a profit from a known issue?

I tried again, this time they could not find the business, but worse they could not locate my car. Asked if I was near the airport! No it was not. What if this was an emergency and they can’t find me!
Yesterday, asked for directions to a Civic Arts Theater, they had the correct address but the nav. system took me to a residential, dead end street. I could see the theater but could not get to it. It wasn’t even the correct street. Again, asked for a restaurant by name - it took me to a location on a freeway. I could see the restaurant from the freeway, and eventually found it. Leased 2017 GX 460 white SUV. Paint discoloration, and the called “leather” seats are crap. They are stained and the dealer cleaned the seats and now I got pieces missing. I’ve never been so disappointed and upset. So besides the above mentioned. They installed two TV’s on each seat and there’s a huge color difference between the top headrest where the TV are installed and the actual seat. I always owed the TVs that come installed from the manufacturer not aftermarket by Lexus. So when we take the car for the scheduled maintenance now if you need a loaner it takes 3-4 weeks for the Lexus dealership to give an appointment date. To top it out they don’t wash nor vacuum the car.
Basically, you are better off going to the Hyundai, Honda or Kia dealership. Pay way less and get excellent customer service and no stress. Trust me Lexus IS way overpriced for the quality. Example. My friends wanted a Lexus just like ours but they started noticing all the defects and they got an BMW SUV. You should see the difference. First in the customer service was excellent and the luxury and technology of the car. Lexus are all outdated and with many issues on quality. There’s something serious going on with the quality control department. Reported all and they promised me back in November, then in December to order me a black on black Lexus.
The pigeon died on the way! It’s August and nothing. And we have been dumb enough to recommend family and friends to the torture and they have done business but consideration for us. In June 2018 I noticed the rear and front bumper panels were worse than ever. Just returned from the dealer and was told at this point there is nothing they can do since this a manufacturing defect that is common with Lexus as well as Toyota vehicles. Probably this was my worst decision to buy a pre-owned 2014 Lexus IS 250 AWD back in 2016. I was certainly duped by looking at those J.D. Power ratings of dependability and reliability. Bought a pre-owned Lexus dealer certified 2014 IS 250 AWD and vehicle is in a very good in condition until a couple of days ago where AC was blowing hot air when I was doing a long trip with my family along with my newborn four and a half month old. The AC was working fine till we reach the destination and on our way back is where the AC did not work and we had to drive back home 140 miles under 95 degrees hot day with a four and a half month baby. I had shared my experience with my colleagues and they say I should've bought an extended warranty. Damn! Why in the world should I buy an extended warranty when I am paying so much for a car which is branded as reliable and dependable? This is nuts.
So, I took my vehicle to the local Toyota dealer (obvious that the Lexus dealer is going to rip me off with their charges and that is totally fine because it's "LEXUS") and it costs me $700 to fix a sensor and redo the whole AC to be up and working. Very dissatisfied with Lexus and did not expected this kind of issue when the vehicle is still under 100,000 miles. Definitely, moving to a different brand in a very short time.

Bought a RX350 (2008) Certified Preowned Lexus in 2009 from PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO, TX. In 2013, I noticed a crack in the dashboard by the driver’s side vent. Called PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO, TX and was told cracks in the dashboard are not under warranty and it may have been caused by what I was using to clean the dashboard. After arguing with the service guy he went to the service manager and they agreed to repair it and they did.
Now in 2018, I have two cracks in the dashboard by the passenger air vent. Researched on the internet to see if other Lexus owners had similar issues. To my surprise many owners have this issue and Lexus had offered to replace the entire dashboard if you have cracks or melting of the dashboard. The dealership told me I needed to call corporate to obtain approval for the dashboard replacement. I called corporate office and they did not show the cracked dashboard had been previously repaired and the offer to replace the defective dashboard had expired in October 2017. I asked if they could repair just the cracks like last time and was told that decision is up to the dealership.
I called PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO, TX to see if I could still get the dashboard replaced or repaired. Their system showed the crack in the dashboard was repaired in October 2009. The dealership did not correspond to corporate of my previous repair which I have documentation and receipt. After speaking to the service representative and service manager they will not replace the dashboard since it is up to corporate to approve and will not repair the cracks because one of the cracks is in front of the airbag.
Bottom line to replace the defective dashboard I will have to pay approximately ~$2,000. I bought a Lexus based on the reputation of a quality vehicle. Had I known it was so cheap that the dashboard would need to be totally replaced in less than 10 years my decision would have been different. I understand vehicle parts wear out and need to be replaced but not a dashboard. This car is always garaged at home and at work and only has 76k miles. A dashboard should not have cracks on a vehicle this soon and definitely not on any quality luxury car. Based on this experience I would strongly recommend others to stay away of a LEXUS and PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO.

Picked up my car, drove it 4 miles, and attempted to stop at the light before the entrance of the 405. My car would NOT STOP! I had NO BRAKES!! I quickly turned the car left and repeatedly pulled up on my emergency brake and was able to eventually bring my car to a stop. Thankfully, the light before the entrance of the 405 turned red otherwise, I would have entered the freeway with NO BRAKES!!
Had to get the car towed back to South Bay Lexus on Crenshaw. They apologized profusely and explained the mechanic neglected to put two of the caliper bolts back! They were very sorry for putting me in a "life threatening situation". I could have been killed and/or killed other people! Obviously, no one drove my car after it was "repaired" to make sure all was good to go. This is absolute negligence on the part of this dealership/service dept.

I have been waiting 2 1/2 years for the warranty Dashboard replacement on my 2005 Lexus 330. I was notified by a letter to go down and add my name to a list. I call every few months and get an update. This is a joke. If they can't get the product to do this they should not have sent out a letter saying they would replace. The Dashboard is cracking more and more and I would like to sell the car but it decreases the resale value. I feel this was not a legitimate offer from Lexus since they can't seem to provide the service.

Lexus RX350 is very reliable and comfortable machine. Handles well, quiet interior, and no maintenance issues. The interface to the control screen menu and Nav is very good. This interface was the least obtrusive and less distracting than many other vehicle’s systems which use a distracting round knob. My only suggestion would be to move the driver’s auto-window controls so that the front windows align with my left hand. These window controls are slightly off and result in the wrong window opening or closing. Overall a very above average car.

The Lexus cars until now, have been classic and elegant looking. I don't like the new Lexus cars or SUVs. They ruined the styling. First they put a silly Bow tie in front?? Then the sides look dented in, more or less caved in. My old 2000 Lexus SUV has been admired for years. I get many compliments and today it looks brand new. My dealer and at gas stations, malls everywhere, I drive it, I have had many offers to sell my car. But it rides well, very comfortable and from the driver's seat I can see the road immediately in front of me, there is no huge hood to try and look over and beyond to see the road.
The Bose radio/Multidisc CD player sound fabulous and I do not have to reload my CDs each time I want to hear a new artist, I can chose from 5 disks within the dash. Wish they would listen to drivers as to styling and comfort and convenience. Myself, as a retired designer, they went overboard and tried to jazz the car up too much. No need just give the new owners less gadgets (to go wrong) to keep the total car price more reasonable. If they fix it and go back to a classic look, I would buy a new Lexus in a heartbeat. And dealer (in RI) is very reputable and helpful anytime I needed anything, even my oil changes. They are always there to help whatever my needs since 2000 to today 2018. That is a bonus...

Overall, Lexus RX 450H 2013 is a great car. Ergonomics, not so much. Real lack of storage in front seat - not even a place to store sunglasses! But about seven places to put your water bottle. Awful design for convenience. Also, rear seats don't fold flat. C'mon, would it be that hard to do? Gas mileage is so-so, at around 24 high-test. A Santa Fe would do better.

I purchased a 2018 Lexus in December and was told by the dealer that it came with Lexus Enform which came with a booklet of complementary services. I signed up for Lexus Enform along with the complimentary trial of Sirius radio and WiFi. The WiFi subscription is offered through Verizon wireless as mentioned on both Lexus Enform and Verizon’s website. The free trial online sign up instructions on Verizon’s website did work and I then called the number listed on their website which is Lexus Enform who then routed me to Verizon for sign up. I spoke with a sales member at Verizon who stated he was signing me up for the free WiFi trial offered by Lexus Enform.
After signing up in January I never received a bill or email from Verizon but was shocked when I received a collection notice from Verizon in April, who claimed to have billed me for three months of service. I called everyone, the dealer, Lexus Enform and Verizon to ask why was I billed for a complimentary service and how they will fix the problem. They all blamed each other for the issue and have not received a solution. Lexus Enform confirmed that the service is complimentary for a year but is unable to fix the Verizon issue even though it states on the website the service is provided by Verizon. Verizon confirmed that I was signed up incorrectly for the complimentary service and refused to help me. I’m currently waiting for a call from Lexus Enform customer care for a response.

2014 ES300H - Will NEVER buy another Lexus nor recommend one to family/friends. They DON'T stand by their product. Car was only 3 years old & the front passenger door lock malfunctioned. It needed a new door lock actuator. Because I was out of warranty (over 50K miles), they said it wouldn't be covered & the cost was significant. The dealership convinced them since the car was still new, they should cover the cost. Eventually they did.
Approximately 9 mos after that lock malfunctioned, the driver side one did the SAME thing. Obviously there's some defective parts in this car given it just turned 4 years old. This time Lexus said they're not paying for it - they already gave me a "courtesy service" last year. Can you believe this? Didn't want to hear anything about it even when I tried to call. Wow - so much for customer service! Car wasn't even 4 years old and BOTH door locks stopped working. Think there may be a serious problem here? This is not only an inconvenience but also a SAFETY issue! The dealership was even shocked Lexus wouldn't pick up the tab. Given the car sticker was $48K and bought brand new in 2014, you would think they would backup their product, especially a Lexus. Don't count on it... reconsider before you buy a Lexus!! Truly not the same car it used to be.

Lexus GX460 is a great vehicle, a true SUV. The only negative is poor gas mileage coupled with a small gas tank; so many gas stops on long trips. Nevertheless, perfect size for four adults. Billed as a 7 passenger, not even close unless 3 of those are small children and you don’t have any luggage or bags of any size. With 4 adults you do have enough cargo room for 2 adults and 2-3 children.

2007 Lexus RX 400h - So there is something wrong with the brake actuator in these models which will DEACTIVATE YOUR BRAKES AT ANYTIME SO BEWARE!!! I called Lexus in July 2016 to tell them that while driving on the freeway, my ABS VSC light went on, I heard a high pitched sound that went on continuously and I lost my brakes. I was with my 8 year old daughter. She was very frightened and thought we were gonna die. I called Lexus Jim Falk Beverly Hills service department and they said this was normal. They said to just turn off the engine and wait a few minutes because the ABS needs to reset. So after this incident, it happened to me 3 more times and I just did the "normal" procedure of turning the engine off and waiting 5 minutes. But just last week, I was driving my pregnant wife to the doctor and this thing happened again and we almost hit the car in front of us.
So I brought it to Longo Lexus service department immediately and they told me that my brake actuator needed to be replaced and that would cost me $4,000 to fix!!! They also told me that this is a known issue with the Lexus RX 400h and that they had a campaign that replaced these for free in 2016 and this campaign had expired December 31, 2017. It is March 2018 already so obviously I can't avail of that free replacement. So I called Lexus corporate office and told them my story about losing my brakes, not knowing about the campaign, and Lexus telling me this was normal (They actually verified that phone call in their records). They said they would escalate this to the national manager which is the highest in Lexus. So now, they just got back to me saying that even with the record of that phone call to Lexus, there is NO PROOF that the car did lose its brakes because no one inspected it at that time it happened.
Let me get this straight LEXUS, YOU WANT ME TO DRIVE A CAR WITH NO BRAKES TO A LEXUS DEALER WHICH IS 10 MILES AWAY??? All I could do at that time was call. And to tell me that this is a normal thing, I believed you, because YOU ARE LEXUS! So now you want me to spend $4,000 for your own mistake?? Gosh, I would never recommend a LEXUS because THEY DON'T SEEM TO CARE ABOUT SAFETY AT ALL!

Second problem: Chrome finish on both rear wheels is peeling - another defect. Third problem: Had to replace water pump +$1000 bill. All this on a garaged 2008 RX 350 with less than 80k miles! I'm a previous owner of a 2000 Ford Explorer and 2004 Nissan Pathfinder (both kept for 10 yrs 100k miles) - no problems with either one. Last Lexus for me! Now (7/2017) an oil leak. I was told that this is a common issue and there's nothing that can be done until Lexus upgrades their brake pads/brakes & that I will be put on the "list". It's funny how Lexus is marketing this brand as a luxury car but forgets to stand behind the cheap quality product when a problem arises. At 10,000 miles I've ended up paying for an alignment as the car was pulling badly to the side. Bear in mind the car was never involved in any collision. The alignment didn't solve the problem and the car is still pulling. At 20,000 miles I'm ending up with the breaks at 0!!! How is that even possible for a "quality" car? No consideration for customers concerns or complaint. Now I know why Lexus is not willing to cover anything under their warranty which proves that Lexus is fully aware of the poor quality, cheap parts used for their cars! SHAME ON YOU LEXUS! VIOLENT SHUDDER/SHAKING OF THE ENGINE. When the CT200H is stationary or in motion the engine periodically shakes violently sometimes up to 30 seconds then it goes away. It happened on cold or hot starts. The EGR has been cleaned from carbon build up, has new spark plugs and coils are good. I have lately been noticing coolant loss. NUMEROUS PRIUS AND LEXUS OWNERS HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. Check engine light. Finally came on with code P0301 "cylinder 1 misfire."
Called corporate and I was assigned a case manager. Well they were no help. They basically said "you don't have warranty on the vehicle so we can't help!" Dealer quoted approximately 4500.00 for a blown head gasket (not sure how that happened), a bad intake manifold, and ECU needs to be reflashed. Take into consideration that this vehicle has never been abused, I use it as my commuter vehicle. Also there are many people that have had the same issue with the CT200H and the Prius (both basically have the same engine/components). Anyway I'm on the same boat with others on here, I will never buy another Toyota/Lexus. Will move into better vehicles. I highly suggest doing research before investing in a glorified shiny **.
