I purchased a new Accord V-6L July of 2011. A few weeks later, warm air started blowing when A/C turned on. Hottest day of year - 100 degrees. Selling dealer could not schedule me for 5 days so I found another dealer who fixed it same day. Said it had no Freon and it was covered by warranty. I decided to reward the dealer and have the car regularly serviced there. This week, I brought it in for inspection and asked them to check A/C as it was blowing warm air. They had me sign a ticket authorization for $180 before they would look at it even though it was repaired earlier for the same thing at their shop. 2 hours later, they came out and asked me about a collision I had in the front end. They said this caused me to lose all the Freon. In fact I had some cosmetic painting done to the bumper from a scuff I had caused. They said this caused me to lose the Freon, and that I had authorized the charge, even though they never told me before they repaired it.
I complained to the service manager who ultimately voided the charge. I felt good at first, and then I thought about being scammed. They insisted that the fact they could see paint repair that this voided the warranty. What is wrong with Honda that they have problems like this and avoid responsibility, or is it just the dealer who can make more money this way? As others have written, I have owned Honda cars for years. Now they are suspect for not standing up for their warranty. What gives with this Freon loss? Perhaps related, I think their instructions on using A/C are flimsy. They told me always use "auto", but you cannot do that and get A/C, as you must push the "A/C" button. But this makes the "auto" light go off, and you are in manual. Could this be the reason people are losing Freon, running the A/C on high when they forgot to push the "A/C" button???

I've taken the 2013 Honda accord (purchased new in 2013) four times for transmission problems. I had a Bad shutter on cold days between 15 and 25 mph and between 55 and 65 mph. I also had my engine rev between 1500 and 3500 rpm like the transmission or something was not engaging. The second visit, I was told of a service bulletin on my car. Dick Brooks Honda replaced a valve and the shutter stopped. Now I just get a vibration between 55 and 65 mph and from time to time on a cold start.
The Honda district service person through Dick Brooks told me that's normal for a CVT transmission. On 6-14 & 15 2014 my car revved like the transmission or something was not engaging. I was told by the Dick Brooks service writer on 6-18-2014 that I must allow the car to run for at least a minute before placing into gear. This will allow the CVT transmission to buildup pressure. I contacted Honda customer service who told me the owner's manual has not such suggestion. I have filed each complaint with Honda motor at (800)999-1009. The representative is Larette. On 6-18-2014 I was at Dick Brooks Honda getting my air conditioner repaired for the second time. They told me I had an "o ring" that went bad and repaired the car the same day. Then I had a return line with a leak repaired on 6-18-2014.

My 2013 Honda Accord Sport recently started having problems where the windshield wipers detach from the arms. First, I assumed the wipers had gone bad (and at only 12k miles). So I bought new ones. Lost one, bought another. Went to the dealership Tameron Honda in Hoover, AL (worst dealership ever). They have been very rude during the whole ordeal and treated me as if I couldn't properly attach the wipers. There is a scratch that the arm made across my windshield the first time the wiper detached, and also missing paint on one of the arms from the second time.
The fourth time the blades detached happened when I noticed my 3rd pair of windshield wipers appeared to be messed up, so I picked up the arm and immediately the blade slammed down on my hood. This problem is not only a hazard and could possibly endanger my family and I, but it is damaging my car. I have called the Honda Complaint line and also had no help there. The guy even told me "Next time it happens, just take it to the dealer." For one I don't have time or money to keep running it 15 miles away for them to keep telling me "There is nothing we can do if we can't see the problem" (It happens randomly) and for two if it happens again, I obviously need the wiper to see.
So he suggests "Have it towed, Honda will cover it." LOL yeah I'm sure they will, seeing as they act like I'm lying. I also called another dealership Serra Honda in Birmingham to get a quote on arms since I refuse to give Tameron any of my money (Although, pretty pissed I have to pay for anything wrong with my car with a warranty). They never called me back. I can't find new arms anywhere online. I feel like it's a matter of time before the blades fling off while I'm going 70mph on the interstate. That's Honda for you, rather let you die than pay for a $100 or less part. I have owned 5 Fords before this Honda and I had way better luck. Sad really!

I purchased a brand new 2014 Honda Accord Sport 2 weeks ago and the interior side paneling looks like it's fading already! It looks like someone may have sprayed it with something they shouldn't have, and when I brought it back to the dealer they said ALL Hondas have that same issue and even showed me some other accords they had on the lot with even worse fading than mine had! Why would Honda use such cheap material for their interior?? I mean, 10 years sure it should be fading, but 2 weeks and no one is going to do anything about it except tell me that's how ALL Hondas are?? If I knew this was going to happen, I wouldn't have purchased a Honda for my first car!

Since I just paid the monthly payment on my 7 MONTH OLD Odyssey I am mad all over again! So, our AC condenser is damaged - "a rock probably hit it". I can't control what hits the bottom of my van. Maybe the condenser should not be such a bad part that it is so easily damaged by a rock. Maybe it should have a protective shield over it like it's been suggested in other posts. The worst thing...it's conveniently not covered under warranty. So, I have to shell out more money on my BRAND NEW VAN that should be reliable. Honda is suppose to be reliable, no? I can't go without an AC since I have a newborn baby, Honda, so I guess you got me! I can certainly advertise how bad the parts are though, and that the warranty means nothing. Great advertisement!

I purchased a 2010 Honda Accord as a new vehicle. This is the 3rd Accord that I've owned. I have never had any problems with any of my Accords--until now. This car has 32,000 miles on it & I keep it very well maintained. Out of the blue a few days ago my AC stopped working. It only blew hot air. I assumed this would be covered under my warranty.
When I took it to the dealer I was told that the condenser had a hole in it & all of the refrigerant had leaked out. They said it was most probably a stone that caused the hole. I was also told that because this was not considered a mechanical problem it would not be covered under the warranty. To say I'm not a Happy Camper is an understatement. What's going on with Honda these days - they don't seem to honor their warranties & their customer service as far as I can tell doesn't exist. Because the condenser is no longer protected by mesh or some other kind of protective covering that they had in the past I had to pay $750 out of pocket. I really don't think that is fair. I think they should consider a recall on this. Thank You.

I purchased my brand new 2013 Honda Accord EX on December 28, 2012. On April 3, 2014, I took my car into Honda of Tysons Corner (Tysons Corner, VA) because I noticed the air conditioner was blowing cold air. Later on that day, I received a call from Tim (Service Representative on the Purple Team) letting me know that the condenser on my car had an impact point that cause coolant to leak. I asked if the damage would be covered by the manufacturer's 3 year, 36,000, mile warranty. The answer was quickly a no, because it was my fault that this damage was caused. He further explained that it was most likely due to a small rock that hit the condenser. I decided not to get the car serviced because I wanted to weigh my options (as any smart consumer would do). I proceeded to pick up my car (very dissatisfied with the customer service by lack of commitment on Honda's word warranty).
I began to examine my car and took it into my personal mechanic for a second diagnosis. Immediately, my mechanic pointed out that condenser had no protection; therefore, any road debris could have caused the damage to condenser. So, I immediately called the Honda Tysons Corner Service Center to have the car examined again by the Service Manager (whose name I can't recall). This appointment was scheduled for April 15, 2014 7:45 am. The Service Manager retrieved my car, didn't put any sort of lining on my floor and took an energy drink into my car and drove away. I waited for about 5 minutes and was escorted to the service floor when my car had been raised.
The Service Manager (along with a mechanic) pointed out the damage and reiterated the same reasoning that I heard before. I explained that the car had a design flaw that didn't protect the condenser, which further proved my theory that I should have gotten the condenser replaced at no cost because of the warranty on my vehicle. The Service Manager explained that the warranty didn't cover the damage because it was of natural causes. Furthermore, he explained that if I got the condenser replaced right then that I could drive off from the service center, road debris could have hit the condenser, and I would have to come back into to pay for the same issue all over again. I asked if there was any way that I could be guaranteed that the issue wouldn't happen again. "It's just bad luck," the Service Manager said. Clearly disgusted and more unsatisfied, I drove away in awe of the lack of customer service that was shown to me and the vehicle that I pay for every month. Need I mention the vehicle that had less than 15,000 miles on it?
On that Friday, April 18, 2014 at 12:30 pm, I called in the customer service line at Honda, explained my issue, and was told that the Service Manager was correct in that the damages would not be covered. I explained that the damage was caused due to road debris and I felt that it was because of a design flaw (the lack of protection on the condenser). The Customer Service representative held firm and stated that the warranty would not cover the damages. I requested to speak to a Customer Service Manager. Was told that to speak to a manager it would take one business for them to return my call. It's Thursday, May 8, 2014, and a manager still has not returned my call.

I had a problem with my 2010 Honda and the experience was not good. My Accord was using a lot of oil and check engine light comes on. I went to Middletown Honda and they said it needed oil change. About a month later the same thing happened. I had to get another oil change and the car had no oil. A month later my check engine light goes on and the VSA light is on. I take it to Honda and explain my problem. They said it need spark plugs. I looked on the internet and found a class action suit against Honda that described the same problem I was having. I told the maintenance supervisor and he said it wasn't the same problem. He told me to check the oil level and keep putting oil in it.
After several weeks my car was misfiring and had no oil. Check engine light went on. Took it to the maintenance supervisor and he said this was likely the Misfire issue from the class action. I ask why he didn't know this in previous repairs. He said he had to go through this process to make sure it was the same problem. I called Honda Customer support and they assigned me a representative. She talked to me but she was worthless with no action. I talked again to maintenance supervisor and he wanted me to replace the timing belt and water pump at my expense after taken the motor apart. I told them no and that this was a defect and they should take care of it. They didn't.
Customer Service representative never called me back. Doesn't want to deal with me I guess. This has been the worst experience I have ever had. I have bought Hondas in the past and my family has. This will be my last Honda I will ever buy and will tell my family and friends that Honda is not the company it was and the cars are not reliable. They do not stand by their cars and the greed of money has taken over. Goodbye Honda. Too bad for you. I was thinking of buying one of your Accord hybrids. Not anymore. Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan will get my business now. You lost a good customer both for buying cars and maintenance.

We bought our 2014 Honda and after driving it 2 days, the radiator started leaking. Took it to the dealer, they replaced it. This was with 100 miles on the car. So we were ok with that. So we went on vacation and when we got there, the car was leaking again. So we stayed that night and went back home. Took it back to the dealer. Well that radiator was leaking too, so they ordered a new one and left the car. Went to pick the car up the next day. We were told the radiator that was ordered and put in was damaged, so had to ordered a new one.
So the dealer told us we needed to call Honda because at this point the car had 1400 miles on it and we did not want to keep the car in fear of further problems. So we called Honda, we asked to trade the car for another one. They told us that the car was functioning so they could not help us after telling us they would send it to review and told us if we did not like the decision to file a complaint with Consumer Affairs. Needless to say we are getting rid of the car!!!

I have a 3 month old 2014 V6 Touring Accord. After hearing about this problem, I decided to check my oil level even though it has only been 1400 miles since my first oil change. I am a maintenance nut and had the oil, filter, and transmission fluid changed at 1400 miles to get the shavings out. So, now at a total of 2800 miles and only 1400 into this oil service, I am down almost a quart! I have also noticed under hard acceleration a cloud in the rear view mirror. I spoke with the dealer and am taking the car in for them to start oil consumption test. Will keep this forum posted.

I have a 2008 V6 Honda Accord that is experiencing Oil Consumption problems, due to defective piston rings. Honda placed a new engine in their vehicles in 2008. Various models from this 2008-2013, and maybe 2014, is experiencing the EXACT SAME PROBLEM. However, Honda is not being responsible for this issue. My local dealership has avoided my calls, provided false information, and delayed repairs repeatedly.
I'm now stuck with a stressed engine that consumes oil, and I have to check my oil daily to ensure my engine doesn't lock up. The oil should circulate throughout the engine; however, with my problem the oil is blowing out my exhaust pipes. I've visited Honda several times, and the manager as well as the service advisors are very unconcerned with this issue and takes it very lightly. I've done everything they've asked me to do, yet they still avoid the repairs. I've verified my computer software is up-to-date, I've had my oil changed, replaced spark plugs, performed multiple Oil Consumption tests, and Honda still isn't moving quickly to address this problem.
Honda is very much aware of this issue, and should take responsibility by issuing a recall to service vehicles as soon as possible. This is my second Honda; however, it will be my LAST. Words can't not express the level of frustration and disgust I have with Honda right now. I completely understand that all vehicles have issues; however, Honda lost my trust and ruined their reputation with me when they begin avoiding the problem and not taking responsibility. Can someone please tell me who to contact and how I can get this issue resolved quickly? I've been in constant contact with my local dealer and the Honda Customer Service at 1-800-999-1009 since last year. However, nothing has been resolved. This is ridiculous and very scary may I add.

Called Honda and they said not their problem but obviously they know about it and it is all over the internet. Consumer should not have to have motor rebuilt on car for this problem; sad and disappointing in buying a #Honda. Will not buy another one.

Purchased a new 2012 Honda in May 2013. From the start, the car would not drive straight. Strong pull to the right. Very dangerous to drive, as the car wants to pull into oncoming traffic. 7 visits to dealership and corporate with NO satisfaction. I hate this Honda. This is the worst new car I have ever owned. I relied on the (past) reputation of Honda. This was a wrong assumption on my part. Honda quality is a myth!! Check out the recalls, hidden warranties, Twitter, YOUTUBE, Honda Forums, etc. and you will find so many problems with Hondas. Honda service technicians blame the road, tires, etc., etc., anything else they can try to rationalize their poor quality with. As a consumer, I am so angry with Honda`s inability to solve my problems. DON`T BUY A HONDA!!!!

I have been very happy with my 2003 Honda Accord until this last year. The clear coat on the roof began to fade and discolored the roof. Repair estimates range from $1,800 and up for the roof alone. Had I known that the paint job would do this, I wouldn't have bought the car. The clear coat is cheap or defective and Honda should replace it. I had a Civic before this and drove it for 12 years. No problem whatsoever. There are certain years that this happened and you can see the Hondas on the road that have been affected. They are not that old but they look like it. It's not simple weathering. It's the quality of the clear coat. Substandard. Please let me know if there is a class action suit I can get involved in for this.
Also I write for magazines/publications and would be happy to do what I can to spread the word about this. Honda has a great reputation. They owe it to their customers to uphold this. The value of my car has depreciated a lot because of this cosmetic issue, but also I've read from over fifty entries on another site, that the issue will also affect the finish and metal of the roof eventually. Please help by putting me in touch with any class action suit that is addressing this problem for a large number of Honda owners who bought Accords from 2002 on.

BEWARE Honda Owners! If you have a legitimate complaint about your Honda and contact Honda America for resolve, they will assign a "case worker" to your complaint and guess what, whatever he/she decides is the end of the road... no recourse after that! In a nutshell, I purchased my 2010 Honda Accord brand new. Due to a high oil consumption rate, I've had to bring this car in for service 16 times in 2.5 years, had it towed twice, and caused me a lot of work time lost. Honda just replaced the engine at 57,670 miles. Only problem is that they won't give me a warranty on the rebuilt engine?! So after 320 miles to go over 60K, if the engine gets damaged, I have to pay for the repair?!
I relayed my ordeal to Honda America case worker, Sarah **, and she basically said she can't do anything for me. I asked her for a letter, e-mail, or anything stating that she reviewed my ordeal and she can't offer me anything. She refused citing it was not Honda America's policy to document their finding/judgement?! But here's the kicker. She refused to give me any supervisor name, contact, address, phone number of anyone else for another "opinion" about her determination. I tried getting an e-mail address and she says that they have "internal e-mail" so I can't send an email to anyone, not even her?!? I have never heard of such a ridiculous customer service process as this.
I'm not asking for anything unreasonable, just Honda to stand by their product... a rebuilt engine with no warranty, really? What's truly shocking is that a "case worker" can render judgement and you have no other recourse after that, not even contact information!? That is stupid and wrong. Better hope your Honda doesn't experience the problems I had - new 2010 Honda Accord, 16 visits to dealership, 2 tows, and a new engine within 2.5 years... and according to Sarah ** and Honda America, they're okay with this.

First off, let me say we have had 7 Honda Accords. We currently have 3 in the family. My problem is with the V6 Accord. I am driving a 2012 Accord V6. I have had to have the engine replaced around 14,000 miles. The engine was fouling the plugs. I had the same issue with my 2010. A system update was supposed to take off the issue. My dealership replaced the engine in 24 hours and I have had no issues since except for the brakes. I just dropped my car off to have the rotors replaced due to warping. The dealership turned the rotors, I believe, around 8000 miles. The mechanic tells me he has seen this in the V6 Accords more than the 4 cylinder. Honda is covering 50% of the bill. I think they should cover it all!

I bought a brand new 2009 Accord EX Coupe in November of 2008. Rarely was it hot enough over the three-year warranty of the vehicle that it was necessary for me to turn on the air condition. The summer of 2011 (final year of my warranty), I did use the air conditioning and discovered only warm air coming out of the vents. I took it to Tom Kadlec Honda in Rochester, MN and I was told that it was my condenser - apparently, a small rock had punctured the condenser and it was not covered by the warranty. They said they could replace the condenser for around $500.
From things I have read, it seems to be a flaw in the design of this car. I gave in and had it replaced last Monday finally (yes, I went without air conditioning for a solid year before giving in, thank you, Honda) and today (which is the following Monday after getting a new condenser), I turned the air on only to discover warm air coming out of the vents once more. If this condenser is that fragile that it can be destroyed in one week, that is an absolute flaw and it's ridiculous that Honda is not doing something about it.
I am incredibly disappointed in Honda and will likely trade this vehicle in while it still may be worth something. I think I will go for a company that shows some compassion towards their customers and isn't trying to rip them off for every penny they can possibly take. I will never ever buy another Honda again, nor will I recommend Honda to anyone.

I bought my 2008 Honda Accord on recommendation from many prior owners. They always commented on their long lasting durability and all around quality. Let me first start with how unsatisfactory the customer service has been. If I could rate it lower than a 0, I would. Starting with the lies, overcharging, the not calling back, the "Ohhhh, well that's not covered under the warranty". Well why the hell did I buy the extended warranty that ended up costing me an additional $100+ a month. Nothing ever seems to be covered!
As for the car, I've had to replace the brakes (3) xs. This is just ridiculous. I do not over use the brakes. The car is louder than a trash truck and I'm seeing so much red right now that I can't even recall all of the issues. It's my fault for buying a Honda, I agree, but there is no excuse for the terrible customer service. As I sit here in the Honda waiting room for a battery that died after 4 years, which in itself is crazy, my last car was 10 years old and I never replaced the battery. I keep getting told, it will be ready soon ma'am... soon? It's going on 2 hours and I even had an appointment. I am extremely dissatisfied on every aspect with my Honda. I will be sure to voice my opinion on the quality and CSR whenever I hear this brand name.

I have taken my Honda Accord to the dealership for service, and told them the ongoing problem with my car burning oil. My car is making a tapping noise. I still can't find whats wrong, and I am not getting the service I deserve. My car sounds bad, and shouldn't require adding oil between each oil change. Also, I reported problems with the brakes. I had to replace the brake pads/shoes three times within 15 months. The last time, the dealer charged me over $600.00, and still, same problems occur. They serviced it five months ago. I need district service rep to assist me, getting this issue resolved. Please.

Purchased (new) a 2003 Green Honda Accord. After having the vehicle for 2 years it started to discolor. Contacted the dealer several times and was advised no recall and may be due to weather damage. Since then the damage has been progressing. The roof, hood and sides of the vehicle are discolored, so much that strangers are asking what happened to the car. My mechanic who works for Acura, advised that it is a manufacture issue. However, Honda doesn't seem to agree. I see many complaints about the paint on many Honda, however, I see many 2003 Green Honda Accord with the same condition as my car. Although, not a safety issue, it's only fair that Honda do the right thing and repair. I mean if I would of known of this issue, I would not have purchased this car. When contacting the dealer recently, they convienently had no records of the complaints.

My Honda Accord with 133,000 miles is now looking at a 3rd transmission. This on top of having to have the car repainted twice due to oxidation on the trunk, hood and roof. Also most of the instrument lights on the steering wheel, shifter and whole audio system no longer work. Add the sun roof imploded (shattered) while stopped at a light (no object had hit the glass). Never mind that the fuel cap interior release switch broke one week after leaving the dealer. And there are other little things.

At 35,000 miles, my 2007 Honda Accord developed vibration in the steering wheel when brakes were applied. This is caused by the brake rotors being warped. I was told that this was normal wear and tear and was not covered under warranty. As a mechanic for many years, I know that rotors should not warp in 35,000 miles.

In November 2007, I purchased a 2008 Honda Accord LX. I had to replace my back brakes for my 2008 Honda Accord LX on 09/26/08 (less than a year) at 20,090 miles and did the 2nd back brakes replacement on 08/31/09 at 38,093 miles. It appears I will need to replace my back brakes every 12 months or less. Honda should recall these cars for the brakes and repair the problem. It is dangerous.

service adviser, who sanded the rotors, and it stopped squeaking. After about 5 days, it started squeaking again; and I told my service adviser. He told me this is a known issue on new Accords and that their corporate is having R&D do research and come up with a fix. I was told it would take 30-60 days.
resolution. Everyone's getting same story. At this point, I decided to send a letter to Mr. Takanobo in Japan. I sent the letter on August 11, 2009. Then, I got a call from a Ms. Laura on August 28, 2009 from Honda USA in California. She told me Japan had sent them a copy of my letter and that they were calling me in response.
I told them about the car brake issue on my new Accord. She said they know about the issue but that it's proprietary information about the time of fix. I asked why Honda has not sent out any bulletin since this is common on almost all new Accords. She said she would take advisement to her superiors. I asked what I do in themeantime, and she said to contact the local dealer about any update. I asked again about the fix time since it's been over 8 months, and she said it's proprietary.
A day later, I got a letter from Mr. Chieko of Parts Service and Service Division in Japan apologizing about my issue and saying that Honda USA would be best to handle my case. Then, I called my service adviser on August 29 about the update, and he said currently there's no fix yet and they were waiting from corporate. He told me he has a long list of other customers with the same issue and that they were waiting from corporate. I told him it's been 8 months, and he said there's nothing he could do as there was no fix yet.

On my 1999 Honda Accord, the black paint has been peeling off and it looks a faded grey. I just relaxed that it's not just not my car but all older model Hondas. What can we do about this? And what is Honda going to do? You would think that Honda would want to please their customers. This is my 4th Honda, and the second black with the paint peeling. Any help on the way? I heard Honda is not doing anything about this. Honda says it's due to bird droppings or sap. But then, why aren't other dealers with black and green cars doing this?

There is a problem with the 2000 Honda Accord’s transmission and there was a settlement with Honda about this problem which I was never told about and they want me to pay for it. I bought my car in 2003 from the dealer.

The 2008 Honda Accord lacks the sufficient front bumper ground clearance to ground. Three times within the first year that the front bumper scraped the ground at the littlest surface incline. I had to have the front bumper refaced 3 times. Poor design. Will larger tires help this problem?

I have a 2006 Honda Accord EX V-6 with 83k. I have owned this car since it was new. Recently, I was driving my car back to the office and when I was getting off the highway, the check engine light began flashing. I immediately pulled over and there was a muffled popping noise that I thought could have been a leaking vacuum hose. I had the car towed into Curry Honda in Atlanta. The next day, I had found out from the dealership that my spark plug had essentially exploded into my head causing the coil to melt as well as ruining the rear head on my car, which resulted in its need to be replaced.
I was told by my Service Adviser, a close friend of mine (who is a Honda Master Tech), my father who has worked for Honda on and off for 30 years, the service manager of his dealership, my mother and stepfather's service manager that and they all say they have never ever seen this happen to a Honda. I was also told that my spark plugs were not to be changed until 105k miles so my plugs are the original ones from the factory. I was told that I need to contact Honda Corporate and basically their Dealer Service rep for my region had communicated to me, "Sorry your car is out of warranty!"

I purchased a 1997 Honda Accord new from the dealer. In July 2009, the air conditioner started blowing hot air. I took it to a local mechanic, and they tried various fixes, had it in the shop 4 weeks, but never found the problem. So, I took it to the dealer where I purchased it. They said it was low on Freon, so they added a pound with dye so they could find a leak if it got low again.
The next day, it stopped working again. My car has now been at the Honda dealership's service garage for almost 2 weeks. They called today and said the problem is a bad A/C thermostat located in the dash. It will take them 4 hours plus the part and cost me another $320. They will need to take the dash completely apart, so they can get to the A/C thermostat. I will have a total of $800 invested into getting the A/C repaired in this 2007 Honda Accord, and I am still not certain that will fix it. I don't think I will buy another Honda, because the repair costs are so high. It's bad when you have to consider selling your car, because the dealer can't repair the A/C!

I have purchased a new 2009 Honda Accord. I turn the A/C off while driving when it gets too cold. As soon as it turned off, the condensation starts forming on the vent and on the surface by the vent. In 30 seconds, the condensation is so much that it stats dripping on the middle console where the control panel for A/C, radio and CD player is. I constantly have to wipe the moisture off to prevent damage to the electronic console. I went to the dealership and have contacted Honda both. The service shop has taken me out in another Honda and had witnessed the same issue. He doesn't have any fix since it seems to be a design flaw. I would like Honda to fix the problem so I don't have to continue to worry about this problem.
It will short circuit the electronic console that would cost lots of money to fix. Since my car is new, I have no idea how much it would cost. But, is there a price for the inconvenience and pain someone has to go through even with a brand new car?

I bought my Honda Accord brand new in July 2004. Right from the day that I bought the car, whenever I drove it (my wife usually drove the car), I would hear a strange noise from the steering column when I shifted from backing up to moving forward. Dismissing my instincts to be unfounded (it was a new car after all!), I let my wife continue driving it. After 73K miles, the power steering pump went out. 3K miles since (76K miles), the starter went out. Now, 78K miles, it's out the clutch. On my ac, the compressor has started making a wild noise when you cut the air conditioning on. I have been told that very soon I will need an ac compressor (would cost me about $800 give or take a few dollars). Everything is falling apart like clock work. I wonder whether they have programmed the car to send "die" signals to the components that are hooked to it (making this up, an engineer's mind at work here, sorry). Needless to say, I am very disappointed by the quality of a Honda, and what did you just say? Reliability? Whatever that is!

I bought a 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid in Oct. 2005, it is to give me 29/34 mpg but Have not seen these number appear at all. I have been getting 21/25 mpg. I always let the dealer know and all they can say is that the older it gets, the better the mileage. It has 38,000 miles on it and I don't see the better at all. They did a fuel consumption and it shows just fine. I just don't agree on their findings. And then It doesn't even come with a spare tire which I think is ridiculous. I could have bought a regular Accord V6 for $2000 LESS which would have gave the same mileage as my 2000 Accord V6 did.

I bought a 2007 Honda Accord with 12,800 miles on it. I have taken it to 3 different dealers who say the car appears to have been in an accident and refuse to do any work on it. The car appears fine to the average person. The warranty says the car is covered unless the title is salvage, which it is not. The dealers refuse to diagnose the car. It's not like they even claim the problem is caused by an accident. They just tell me to go away without explanation. Today, a dealer threatened to call the police.
Honda America is siding with the dealers. They say they can't force the dealer to fix the cars. They claim the dealer is afraid of being liable for other problems with the car if they start repairing it. I told them I have a 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. If the rings go out, they can't blame it on an alleged accident. They say they can.

6/21/2005, purchased a used 2001 Honda Accord with 75,000 miles for $10,000. The car had its transmission replaced in 6/30/04 due to problems while under warranty. Had no reason to wonder if transmission would fail again as one would expect a repair to last not just be temporary. At 135,000 miles, check engine light came on and when it was taken in to the Honda dealer for service, they said it needed a new transmission again at $3091.00 and tax. I have never had any car where the transmission went out and especially twice in the life of the car. I feel this is a design flaw that Honda is forcing the consumers to lose out on the expected life of the car and that they should cover it rather than cheating consumers. I can't have Honda put in a new transmission because they have shown it can't be expected to last, and they have no intention of covering it if it doesn't. So I am stuck with a useless vehicle that delivered only 60,000 miles when I expected much more.

They won't stand behind their product. AC quit working and I took it to dealer. They said that a debris had destroyed the condenser, and that it was not a mechanical error so it was not covered under the warranty. I believe that the number of complaints reported of similar occurences proves that it is a mechanical error due to poor engineering. If Honda is so reliable, why won't they admit that they screwed up the condenser placement on the 2005 Accord and fix it. Why would I pay over $900 to repair something that a tiny pebble could take out the next time I drive my car.

I have owned this 1999 Honda Accord which I bought brand new. Now I am having major transmission problems. Problems with the smog control and some type of control module. All of which should have been re-calls. Will not purchase another Honda until they set up to the plate to correct these problems. And I mean never!!

I purchased a 2008 Honda Accord coupe in October of 07, I live in Maryland and do a lot of highway driving and can admit that I rack up a lot of miles but there is no reason that to date I have had to replace the back brakes on my car 4, yes 4 times. The cycle started just 3 months after I brought the car and then 3 months after that is April, and then 3 months after that in July and as of today I just picked up my car from the service department for breaks once again.
Fortunately the breaks have been covered and no money has come out of my pocket but that doesnt excuse the service that I have received in the service department of Ourisman Honda in Laurel Maryland. I attempted to contact the manager of the service department when I first realized I was having break problems again, for 2 weeks he never returned my calls. After calling and becoming a little irate I was finally put in touch with him. He was not very sympathetic or apologetic to my situation and blamed problems with there phone system as the reason for not returning my call. I had to contact my sales person who is always helpful to me for instant results. I was told by one of the service reps that this would be the last time my breaks would be replaced at no charge. This is a obviously a defect in the breaks so I dont feel that I should be responsible for the cost of breaks at any point and I expressed that and was told that he doesnt like to argue on the weekends. I refused to go back and froth and I now plan to contact the BBB and any other parties that will be able to assist me with my unpleasant service experience.

I have a 2008 Honda Accord EX and discovered a bubble on the tire wall of one Michelin tire. I tried to enforce my warrenty with both the Honda dealer and NTB, a Michelin dealer. Afraid to continue driving on the tire - on a NEW car - I spent $275 on a new tire. But now I'm reading the same complaint from multiple people on this site and fear what the future cost will be. I'm trying to get some portion of my expense returned by Michelin, but I know my chances are slight. No more Michelins for me.

i was driving to work and i swerved to miss a dog in my 2003 honda accord. i over corrected and lost control of the vehicle i hit my head and was unconcious for the rest of this. my car was sliding sideways down the rd and hit grass which threw the car into the air it then barrel rolled for 25 ft in the air before smashing into a house the car was totaled the drivers side was chrushed in and the car was completly sideways and none of the air bags deployed.does this happen alot?

For folks with trans probs on hondas. I had a 2003 Honda Accord EXV6 with approx 42k miles on it when the transmission failed. I had not purchased the extended warranty, however the dealer spoke with Honda NA and got the replacement paid for (even a rental for me during the work).
This car had been taken in for the recall work a few years ago. From what I've gathered this recall involved: a) inspection and replacement of known fault on vehicles under a certain mileage (my car's case), or b) complete replacement on cars over that magical mileage (probably what should have been done for all).
As a result of my positive experience, I would consider buying another Honda. I would prefer a car that doesn't need a complete transmission replacement at 42k miles, but at least they did the right thing. I do understand that results may vary from dealer to dealer. If one is saying they will not do something, go elsewhere (there's only about 5 Honda dealers in every metro area).

I hydroplanned recently in my 1996 Honda Accord and crashed sideways into a rock then down a steep ditch. The airbags did not deploy. The firemen and deputies that worked the crash said the airbags should have gone off.
I had a gash over my left eye and a hair line fracture in the back of my head from the force of the wreck. I now have severe headaches.

My wife was in a car accident today. She was with her grandmother in a 1997 Honda Accord. Upon approaching a stop light, grandma began applying the breaks....and nothing happened. The break pedal depressed all the way to the floor. This is a result of the master cylinder failing. This is an integral part of a cars breaking system. It supplies the brake pedal with pressure, as well as forces the calipers and pads to clamp down on the brake disc, thus stopping the car. It is also an important part of the ABS system, which also failed. There was a car already stopped at the light, and due to the failures, she rear-ended the car. 99% of automobiles have an airbag deployment system controlled by the cars on-board computer. This computer reads the sensors on the impact zones of a car (front end, rear end, sides). It also determines whether or not to deploy the airbags based upon the speed at which a vehicle is traveling. The normal speed is about 18 miles per hour. She was traveling at a rate of 30 miles per hour, as she was attempting to come to a stop. Don't lie to the cops about your speed if this ever happens to you, because the on-board computer also records average speeds, and can be pulled by any auto mechanic. At 30 miles per hour, the impact is comparable to a three story fall, and landing face first. So in human logic, you would think that an airbag would deploy at such a speed. I'm sure you have read the other Honda incidents dealing with airbag failures. Some were going 60+ miles per hour. An airbag should deploy at the moment of impact. We are considering a lawyer, and a lawsuit against Honda Motor Corporation for medical bills, as well as damages. I bought a brand new black 2004 Honda Accord Cpe EX in November 2003. It started to have tiny chips on the paint most notably at the front bumper & the hood. Around 2007, it was really bad and I took it to several paint/body shop to get an estimate because I thought it was due to rock chips, but they told me it is bad paint job because rock chips cannot do that much damage.
It's a 4 year old car that looks like a 15 year old car. My 2000 BMW looks newer than my Accord. The black paint is really horrible and hopefully Honda will repaint it under warranty.

I have a 1999 4 cylinder accord that has transmission problems that is a little over 100,000 miles. It has been acting up for a little while but I did not realize that it was anything serious. I had it looked at and they said it should be ok but it has gotten worse.I noticed on the internet that several others are having the same issue with their 99 accords. Also some one listed a telephone number that says they will replace the ones under 100,000 miles. So why isn't this recall listed on the recall sheets on the internet and why am I responsible for repairing their faulty equipment if it is over 100,000 miles?

I bought a 2003 Honda Accord. The rotors warped after about 15000 miles. They replaced them since it was under warranty. Then at about 50000 the vibration came back, they were warped again and the Honda dealership said since im over 30000 miles that they will not cover it. They said it was due to highway driving. HAHA.. I had a 1987 Jeep and still have a 1994 Chevy. Cavalier that I did a lot more highway driving with and never had any issues with the rotors. I gave the manager an ear full and they gave in a said they would replace but this is the last time.. Now, my a/c unit failed. Its the compressor, of course the most expensive part that could fail.. Also, im at 85000 miles and my breaks are vibrating and my mechanic said I need new rotors!!! This will be the 3rd pair!!! My wifes 94 Cavalier has cost us less in repairs then this stinking 2003 Accord. Hmmm... this is the last Honda Im buying.

My 2003 Honda Accord EXL started to rust through the left rear wheel well lip this past winter. The car has been meticulously maintained with the records to prove so. During the winter the car was washed, chassis washed, and waxed at least every two weeks at a hand car wash. In the spring, summer, and autumn I wax and detail the car myself. Thus I am disappointed to see it rusting through. The oldest of my cars, a 94 Mazda Protege with 250,000 miles has no rust. The car was damaged at the back edge of the left rear door and repaired at the Dealers Body Shop (Grecco Auto Body) in 1/27/06. Both Joyce Honda and Grecco Auto Body are subsidiaries of the Grecco Auto Group selling & repairing Hondas. The Honda factory Rep. said the rear quarter panel would have to be replaced but that the rust was due to the accident and subsequent repair and therefore Honda was not responsible. The Honda Dealers Body Shop and State Farm Insur. Claims Rep. maintain that the rust was far behind the area that was repaired and was not due to the accident. Attached are photographs of the small dent by the door just above the body trim line and the rust at the very top of the wheel opening. In essence, Aron Cooper, the service manager of Joyce Honda (where I purchased my two Hondas) and the factory Rep (who would not give me a business card or name) said the rust is a result of the repair and not their responsibility. While John Gimler of Grecco Auto Body and Scott Kendrick, auto inspector for State Farm Insurance said the rust is far to the rear of the repaired area and not the result of the repair. I had the repair done at the dealers body shop to avoid a situation as this where no one is accepting responsibility to correct a problem. Thus the three entities of the same business, Honda Motor Co., Joyce Honda Dealership, and Grecco Auto Body are blaming each other and my car continues to prematurely rust through. Attached are photographs of the rust, the car, and the itemized repair as well as contact information of parties involved. I am expecting Honda to honor the Rust Perforation Warranty.

I went into the Honda Dealership of Staten Island to test drive the Honda Accord. I gave him my driver's license of which he made a copy, but did not return to me. He stated that he accidently gave it to the wrong person/customer at the dealership. I did not get my license back. I had to order a new license, which cost me $15.00, of which I have asked that the Honda Dealership reimburse me. They have not done so and it has been over 3 months. I have stopped several times at their office and they keep telling me they are taking care of the reimbursement, but I never get the $15.00.

I purchased a used 2003 Honda Accord V6 from Courtesy Auto Sales in Chesapeake Va in January 2008. I traded my SUV so I could get better gas mileage since I travel alot. I was to say the very least "extremely disheartened" when in March 2008 the transmission started "slipping". It seemed to not want to shift from around 30-40 mph (to higher gears). By the end of that month, over one day, my transmission completely died. I barely got it to the dealer. The dealer, Hall Honda of Moyock NC, stated it would probably be covered since it was within 100,000 miles. Well, once my VIN number was entered, they told me there had been previous recall (during the previous ownership) where some part was replaced on the transmission and that was their "fix" for any further transmission problems.
Of course I was infuriated because first, I hadn't even had the car for barely 90 days, second I didn't have any additional warranty yet because I figured, "it's a HONDA, WHY should I even need it right? Everyone I knew couldn't say enough about how great they were. So my next course of action was to contact someone in corporate headquarters at Honda. They replied alright--basically sorry about your luck, you should've purchased it at a certified Honda dealer, and we've already replaced the part mentioned earlier so you have to replace the transmission yourself.
Okay, I didn't purchase it at a "certified" dealer, but the "certified Honda mechanic" at Hall Honda said he would've never been able to predict this problem either. And I did contact the dealer I bought it from; they also had nothing to say because I didn't purchase their extended warranty. I feel so screwed! I hate Honda right now! I have replaced the transmission because I had to have something to drive but I will never purchase another and I want everyone else to know not to deal with Honda because of the way they DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT!

I brought my less than a year old Honda Accord in in Feb. 2008 for it's first oil change, and had noticed problems with the brakes - the whole car shuddered and almost stuttered/stumbled when I stepped on them hard. I was told that the rotors were warped; probably because I didn't use the car too often, or I went through cold puddles when the brakes were hot, or went through a car wash when the brakes were hot'. Odd explanations, indeed. They resurfaced the rotors. Now, 3,000 miles later, the same problem with the brakes has happened again. I've spoken with a woman in my building who has had the EXACT same problem with her Accord. I called Honda service and have an appointment for Monday, June 23rd. Honda has denied ANY recalls because of brake problems, but a man in my building has just got a recall notice on his Honda for the ABS brakes.

I own a 2003 Honda Accord EX. My air conditioner went out, and I was told that the a/c condenser is leaking freon---this was caused, per dealer, from stones etc....hitting it and causing damage.....most vehicles have some sort of shield to prevent this. The new accord seems to have had this added,,,seems Honda realized there was a problem..since it has been corrected...now they need to stand behind their product - why should I have to pay over 600.00 dollars for a repair when this was their fault for poor design....even the service rep at Friendly Honda stated that it was a poor design...?? And If I have it repaired----how long before it will need to be replaced again??? Seems like this could be a vicious circle. I live in an area of all paved roads---Its not like I'm driving on dirt or gravel roads.....Next car----GMC--Barry

The dealership replaced it several times and it still scratches off. They now say there is nothing they can do to fix it to our satisfaction even though it is still under warranty. The kicker is that they even supplied me with a copy of a memo from Honda Motor Corp. the instructs dealerships that the 2007 Accord was not engineered to accept tint and that Honda Motor Corp would not warranty it. I would have gone down the street to look at the Suburus had I known I could not tint the window. A car with scratched window tint and the cost of the tint.

I have 96 Honda Accord EX Sedan. Have had it for about 8 years. No serious problems occured until recently. in 2007 my transmission was about to blow out. RPG was up to 6 and I was only going 25. They wanted 4,000 for a new one. only ending up fixing my old one for atleast 1,000. Radiator cost only 50.00 to fix because I know people who know things about cars. My wires fell out of my hood when i hit an eighteen wheelers tire on a highway, and my tire ended up ripping them to shreds. cost about 600.00 to replace them all at Honda (plus labor of COURSE)180.00 to do my oil and check everything (100.00 for labor alone) now, my check engine light is on. the Valve and to clean out the engine (180,000 miles) cost 496. plus my front break pads, rotors, wires, car rotor, and two other rip offs = 1,236.12. my car is not worth even 3,000. Its all a scam. Because i dont need rotors, a car rotor, my engine flushed, or wires. only brake pads and my valve. Be careful who you go to for help. You will get ripped off. Hondas are built to last over 300,000 miles. they are not bad cars at all. Find the right people or you will loose money and blame the car.

I have a 1999 Honda Accord Coupe with a 145,000 miles on it and the transmission had to be rebuilt.
I had to pay $1599.00 to get the transmission rebuilt. Honda is supposed to be known for quality and I am very disappointed that it had such a huge repair with only 140,000 miles. I have also heard of the recall on the 2000-2002 transmission on Honda Accord and wondered why with all the complaints they have not included 1999 models.

I bought a new 2008 Honda Accord at the beginning of 2008. I paid extra for the Bluetooth and navigation system. I have now found out that there are NO phones on the market - being sold - that are completely compatible with the Honda Bluetooth systems. There are many features that cannot be used and most the phones when used with their system cause the system to crash of lock up.
The response from Honda is that it is too bad and there is nothing they can or will do for me. I found out that Honda designed their system and then told the phone companies to try to make a phone to work with their system rather than the other way around. I would like to know why Honda is not being forced to tell people buying their cars that there are no phones available that will fully work with their cars and all them will have issues. Isn't this misrepresentation of a product?

While in a accident with my 2003 Honda Accord, traveling on the 91 freeway in Southern California, my driver side airbag did not deploy while my passenger airbag did. This accident included a 3 car pile up with me cought in the middle. As I was coming to a stop in traffic the vehicle behind me rear ended me and thrusting me into the vehicle in front of me. Unfortunately, the driverside airbag did NOT deploy while the passenger did. Both the back end and front end are totally destroyed thus a complete total loss of vehicle

I purchased a brand new 2007 honda accord vtec in feburary 2007, i had the car less than a couple of weeks when i started having a problem with my brakes. upon applying my brakes on periodically occasions they lock up completely causing me to skid, also at times the brakes continusely grab release grab this in NOT my antilock brakeing system. I took my new car back to Morristown Honda they were told it did not lock all times just at periodically times. they told me they looked at my brakes they look fine. problem continues I took it back at this time approx.6000 miles on the new vehicle I am told my new rotars need turned I complained of continueing problem of brakes locking still periodically they turned rotors down road 25000 or less I return car complaining same brake locking I am told I now need back brake pad on my still fairly new car , after approximately 6 or better times of taking car back 45000 now I am told my rotars are glazed and my front brake pads need replaced they replaced my front pads today 03-04-08 when I left honda I discovered my oil milege meter had been tripped back to 100% oil was not changed also now my still fairly new Honda Accord is extremly out og aleginment. I called Honda at 1-800-999-1009 several times today to contact worker named jessee and did not receive call back. I am not a mechanic but I feel with the brakes locking and also not releasing the problem is not fixed what can be done? this car slid my out into a major road at one time i took the car back to Honda and told them what happen still i am told by looking at brakes they look ok, yet my problem periodically still continues/

I too purchased a 1999 Honda Accord. About one year ago, I gave this car to my daughter because I consisdered it a reliable car for her senior and upcoming college years. Unfortunately, soon after receiving this car, my daughter complied that the car would jerk at stops. Here recently the problem has gotten worse and now the car slips into all gears.

I just want to add my name to list of those who have had transmission problems with Honda automobiles, i purchased Honda Accord march 2005, I have 59k miles and just had to have transmission rebuult for a cost of $4000.I also had to replace rear wheel sensors and now I am told the front axels are bad. I owned three toyota's prior to this all went over 100k with minimal problems, these cars do not live up to their reputation, now I am stuck with a silve Lemon

My dad had just got me a car since I am going off to school next year, the car I got was a 1994 Honda Accord LX 4-Door and I was driving around two days after we bought it and all of a sudden the transmission was fried, it wouldn't engaged into 1st gear and kept revving really high and I had my foot on the accellerator really lightly. So I was lucky my uncle was following me home because I had went over there to pick up something. Then I had to call AAA to tow it back to the dealer. So the next day they called my dad and told him a new transmission was gonna cost him around $5k and thats more than how much the car cost. So he had it towed to his mechanic thats independently owned and they found a used JDM transmission and cost him $600 and installation was about a few $100 and it was $1200 total. So to end this the salesman was a total liar, my dad asked him if this car has ABS, everything check througly and if it would last longer. My car doesn't have ABS and the transmission was bad. He said Oh yeah it does have ABS, airbags, etc... Thinking that it's a Honda it would have all the essential safety needs I trusted these people and since my whole family had bought cars from them since they opened in 1978, I am starting to think twice about them. Then they call my dad back saying not to do the transmission swap after the mechanic had swapped it. They said they will give us another car from their used car lot, but those cars they have cost way too much from our price range. I'd say swap my car with another car and keep the money. So the dealer wanted to see the transmission and WE would have to bring it to them, my dad said to them, get it yourself. He's very mad at them.

I had a recall for my 2001 Honda Accord for transmission issues. Since receiving the recall I have had 4 transmissions replaced in the vehicle. The last one being install 5 days ago. I was upset when I received the car back and there still seems to be noise and slipage associated with the transmission. I had trouble getting through the dealer so I contacted Honda America. Who stated that The dealer should not have covered the transmission replaced and did so in good faith because the warrantee was not in effect any longer and expired when I hit 109,000 miles (I now have 116,000 miles) the recall letter said that the coverage was 7 years 100,000 miles. It is just so upsetting that the car has needed 4 FOUR transmission since purchasing it. That they would not in good faith pay for the replacement and now say that I may have to pay for this repair. I have friends who have had cars for 10 years and never replaced 1 transmission never mind 4.

I am the original owner of a 2002 Honda Accord EX with the 3.0 v6 engine, and the transmission has failed with only 45,000 miles on the car. I can not understand this as I mostly drive the car locally and have never abused it. I have also kept up with the routine maintenance on the vehicle. How could a car which has such low mileage need a transmission?

Brought '02 Accord in with CEL on for P1457. Had already spent $350 to replace sensors-CEL returned. Honda replaced another $350 in parts and CEL light came back on! They said it was due to overfill of gas tank (2 years ago). They wanted to replace another $350 in parts with no refund for initial parts they replaced that weren't bad. In other words, they wanted me to keep paying to replace parts in my car until their genius techs could figure out what the problem was instead of diagnosing it properly. I've spent thousands of dollars maintaining my car there and tens of thousands for vheicles and there are 3 Accords in my driveway and yet, they still would not rectify the problem. In addition, there is a TSB related to this probelm that they failed to notify me of and also did not perform the proper testing procedures for the TSB.

I just had the worst experience with Honda that you could imagine. My car broke down Sat night (2008 Honda Accord Coupe) and they were closed yesterday so I took it in first thing this morning (9AM). They said that they would check it out and if they can fix it within an hour they would do it and if not they would get me a loaner. Well they said that it was the battery and that they were updating the computer systems....2 hours later they come back and say that they have no idea what's wrong with the car and that they would give me a loaner (11:30 AM) (all the while I was telling them constantly that I need a car to go to work ASAP). Then I find out that they dont have loaner cars onsite so they take me to Enterprise only to find out that I have to pay for the rental upfront (12PM). So I call Honda to see why I have to pay for a car when one should be provided - they proceed to tell me either I put the money up front and be reimbursed or just come back and wait for my car! So I pay the money and then they proceed to tell me that they dont have a car for me.....so I waited 2 hours for a rental car which wasn't even at the location where I was (2PM).....they drove me a 1/2 hour to pick it up (2:30PM)....and to top it off...the car only had 1/4 tank of gas!!

I bought a brand new Honda Accord 2007 just 45 days (6000 miles). During the holidays of Thanksgiving 2007, I drove to Baltimore, MD from Hershey, PA, During I drove back, left front tires (Michelin) blew out on freeway. I had to call Honda Care who asked a guy to replace the tire with the spare tire. After 10 minutes late, the left rear tire blew out and left my car on freeway 83 during I was driving back.

In 2005 I bought a brand new Honda Accord - I noticed about one year after I bought it, the material of the ceiling/inside roof of the car started to sag a little toward the inside light. We didn't immediately bring it in as it was a small area, and we were busy with a new home and waiting for our child to be born. We noticed about 6 months ago, though, that it had gotten much worse.to have it fixed.
I was told over the phone that the ceiling material shouldn't have separated and to bring it in to have it fixed. I made the appointment and showed up at my scheduled time of 8.30am on Saturday, November 17, 2007 - I have a 20 month old child, so this was quite a feat to get out of the house on time. My husband and I walked in, explained to the man at the counter what I already explained over the phone (I was amazed it wasn't written in as part of the appointment) and the man at the counter asked me how much I was willing to spend.
I informed him nothing as this is a product defect (not sure how they think I would cause the material to become dislodged from the roof). He told me it is not covered under warranty, that my warranty expired anyway, and that it would cost me upward of $2,000.00 to have it fixed. I picked my jaw up off the floor and asked him why I was expected to pay for a defect in the car.
This is obviously not caused by regular wear and tear - the car is only two and a half years old. He said he was sorry but that they would not repair the material. I was completely amazed by 1. the fact they will not stand behind their product and fix a defect, and 2. their total arrogance and attitude of too bad....I will never buy a Honda again - I have told all my friends that Honda does not fix their product when it is defective, and plan to write a letter to their complaint department.

I have a 1999 Honda Accord V6. The transmission is slipping and it needs a new transmission. This is the same problem that was part of a class action lawsuit that included Hondas from 2000 but Honda will not cover the transmission in my car although it has the same problem.

In March 2007, we have a Honda Accord 98 model, starting to give us problems. The car would stall with no warning at any time. We attempted to find the cause of the problem and spent many hundreds of dollars for un-necessary services to find the problem of the stalling. The stalling got worst and by July 2007, it was not longer possible to keep the car running.
We took it to the local Honda dealership and they diagnosed it as a faulty ignition switch. We had that part replaced once already in 2003 and in 2007 when the car had the stalling problem the Honda had only 80,000miles, too young according to the Honda dealer for the switch to fail. Apparently, this is a very poorly made part and would fail pre-maturely compared to other brands.
We only request Honda pay for the repair we have paid $285 as we feel this part should not fail so soon and it is also a source of great danger as the car had stalled several times on the freeway and once just as we were turning in a busy intersection and cars almost hit us due the the car stalling without warning.

I bought Honda Accord EX V6 - Coupe 1999 model late 1998 - I am frustrated with the ignition switch problem. I'd almost been killed many times as the power would cut off without warning while driving on freeways or local roads. It would take countless attempts to get the car started again or have to sit in traffic. This is very very dangerous especially on FREEWAYS at high speed!!! I took the car to Honda Dealers and was told Ignition switch problems - -First time - no charge because of the recall -Second time - Changed because we already changed it and need to charge -Perhaps keys too heavy! -Third time - Ignition switch wore out - okay - paid and changed to new ignition switch -Fourth time - Car still stall without warning - took that to Honda Dealer - We can not duplicate the engine shut off problem give you 2 choices: - (1) Pick up the car (2) leave the car and we will test till we find the problem and you need to get a rental yourself! Very frustrated with this problem and will not buy another Honda again!!!

There was a recall on ignition switch the Accord 1998 vehicles and there was no charge for the service. On August 17, 2007, while driving on the highway, the car began to smoke and the car caught on fire. A number of phone calls were made to Honda to report the problem and no one returned the call. Upon returning from vacation on August 28, 2007, I went to speak to a Service Manager about the problem. He stated that he was not responsible for the damages to the car without looking at the car. At first, he stated that I should have the car towed to Honda to be checked to see if the cause of the fire was their responsiblity. He gave me a contact number of a towing company and stated that I should not pay for the towing services. He called back 20 minutes later and stated that there was nothing he can do and for me to contact my insurance company. On the service sheet it specifically states that they are responsible for all services up until 12 months after the service was completed.

My 2005 Honda Accord LX has had repeated brake problems. My brakes were replaced 3 times (10000, 17500 and 25800 miles) with the vehicle subsequently have the brakes bad again after a Honda inspection at 26700 miles. The Honda has repeated problems with Honda haveing a Technical Safety Bulletin out for the year 200 having brake vibration problems. Honda refuse to fix the car or otherwise fix it. The cars brakes apparently show signs of overheating and Honda has no fix. Apparently Honda wants the car to burn up with a brake fire failure like Ford is Experiencing.

My wife and me purchased a 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid on August 26th, 2005. The vehicle was purchased because of the advertised mileage of 37 MPG. In the 1st year we only averaged 24 MPG and were informed by the dealer that it takes time for the MPG to reach those levels. Now, two years later we are still only getting 25 MPG so either we have a hybrid lemon or there is definitive false advertising on this vehicle. Also, we got a safety recall notice in the mail stating that this vehicle may have a faulty fuel pump which could cause it to stall without notice and cause an accident. My wife and eight year old daughter often use this vehicle and now I'm worried that this vehicle is now also unsafe. This experience has been quite an ordeal and we want Honda to buy back this vehicle and give us a full refund of the loan amount that has been paid by us rather than a more costly lawsuit.

Couple of years ago,I purchased a used 98 Honda Accord EX (green color) at around 78K miles. I noticed a small area on top of the car where it appeared to have lost paint, the then owner was not aware of any such issues and told me that it is due to bird dropping. Slowly the problem spread to the entire top and also to the trunk. Last December someone hit my car from behind and insurance paid for the trunk replacement. This helped in one way where the car now looks lot better from behind. Today with 106K miles,the problem started spreading to the doors. I have initial information that arepaint job would cost anywhere betweek 3K-4K. If it is proven and so many customers are having the same issue, why would not Honda consider the defect and provide a solution. I haven't called Honda yet regarding this but at the same time did not hear/read about anyone being paid by Honda to fix this problem. Any thoughts/suggestions?

I got into head on collision last night in my 2002 accord ex coupe. The car had extensive damage My face hit the steering wheel pretty hard bruising my cheek and to my surprise my airbags didnt deploy. I need to get a number for HONDA and see what the deal was. I purchased my car new from Norm Reeves Honda in Cerritos,CA in 2002 and I don't understand why they didnt deploy, does this happen all the time?

I purchased a new fully loaded o4Honda Accord v6 in Nov of 04. At 3000 miles by an oil change person I was told there was a leak. I didn't believe it at first. I then noticed leakage on my garage flr. Took to dealer & was told rt axle seal. (replaced) I thought car was fixed.
Noticed more leakage & took back to Honda dealer couldn't find leak.Told it was coming from top of engine. I then took a sample to them & told them it was trans fluid. Well, after 6 visits I was told the trans casing was porous & fuid was leaking from the trans casing. T
hey said Honda was giving me a new Trans. instead they replace it with a rebuilt one at approx 15K miles...What's with Honda, I thought they were good cars. I called Honda & asked that the warranty on the rebuilt be extended & they would not. I said I now have a rebuild trans in a car with approx 15K miles...disgusting. After I had put about 2500 miles on my 2007 Honda Accord Hybrid, it began to backfire -- it made the sound of a backfire and jerked at the same time. This happens every time I accelerate out of a left turn and oftentime when I accelerate from a stop. I took the car in and they made a replacement to a part that, as I understand it, has something to do with the engine mount. After I picked up the car, it was great for about 150 miles, then the backfire and jerk started again, but I could feel that it was from a different area of the car. I took the car back in on 6/26, and did not receive any contact from Penske until I called them on 6/29. When I did talk with them, they advised me that Honda Engineering is calling the situation characteristic of the vehicle. Therefore, neither Honda or Penske is going to do anything about it. I met with the General Manager and the Service Manager to let them know that I was not please and this was unacceptable. They said that this problem, although it is troublesome to me, is not necessarily something that would bother anyone else. I let them know that every person riding in my car asks me what is wrong with it. They basically said that there was nothing they could do about it other than file a case with Honda.

I have a 1999 Honda accord ex-v6 that has transmission problems at 88,000 miles. the problem has been evident for the last 30,000 miles. while honda is aware of the problem they refuse to assist me.
However I have discovered that this is a large problem with this vehicle and when individuals from other states have contacted better business, or consumer affairs they have rec. some results. Honda company did acknowledge that there is a transmission problem on these vehicle. however they have not put a recall on the 1999 accord. there is wide reports that this year has one of the biggest problems and several individuals have problems with this model between 80,000 and 90,000 miles. Again other customers testomy is that they have the response that I rec. from the honda company however with the assistants of the consumer affairs in their individual states they have had some success.
I have rec. several emails stating there is a class action suite for the 1999 accord v6 but have not been able to locate any area to sign up for this suite or to obatin assistance with fixing my vehicle.
The cost of the repair for this part is between 4,000- 5,000 dollars. I can not sell or trade this vehicle in this condition do to the fact that I still owe on the vehicle, and this problem is widely known about this year and make of accord. I need assistant in getting this problem resolved and being added to the class action suite if no other solutions can be reached at this time.

We drove a 98 Honda Accord. We were in a car accident where we collided and severely damaged the front end. Our vehicle was totaled. Our air bags didn’t go off. Our insurance guy who looked at the car said that our airbags were technically working and was also surprised they didn't go off.

On Wednesday evening (2/21/07)I was on my way home from work. I was talking to my sister on the phone and heard an explosion from the rear of my car and there was some smoke.
Thinking it was a blown tire I pulled off the road into a parking lot but did not experience any problems with handling the car. The passenger window behind me had completely imploded. I could not believe it!!! My 2004 Honda Accord LX looked terrible! It was shocking. I immedialetly called 911 thinking maybe someone had shot at my car.
The police officers arrived and checked thoroughly and found nothing to explain why.

I purchased 2007 Honda Accord...Nov 2006....The fabric that the seats are cover with catches excessive amount of lint...when I call corporated spoke with several people there...I was told what we are telling out customers that call with this problem is to use a fabric sheet to clean the seat with..we are not going to do anything about the fabric because it is a mass production...Corporate also suggest that I take the car back to the dealer ship..I spoke with the General Sale Director he stated that it was problem to be resolve with honda...the service manager mark stromberg contact coporate he was advised to tell me to use a lint brush to keep the lint off the seat...I replied to honda corporate and the sales person and director of sales that when I purchase the car no one told me that there was problem with the seats collect lint that I would have to clean them every week in order to keep my car looking nice(interior) the lint rolls up and doesn't look nice on my seats..(example look like sheet wash with towels) ...honda coporate is aware of the problem...dealership is saying they knew nothing about it...so each time I call I request to speak with someone higher up and I keep getting brush off ..yes we know it is a problem ...but we aren't gonna do anything about...it is not warranty issue ..the car is still running

In 2001 I bought a new Honda Accord from Metro. In 2003 I received a letter indicating my automatic transmission warranty would be extended to 7 years or 100,000 miles. Unfortunately in Oct, 2005 with 75,000 miles my transmission failed and was replaced at no charge by Metro. This morning at 96,000 miles the exact same thing happened. I limped into the lot with my car and the dealer diagnosed an internal transmission problem.
I was then told that the repair was my responsibility. I pointed out the warranty extension and was told it was a one time replacement. I read the warranty and found no such verbage. After much discussion I was told Honda would generously pay for the part, but that I would have to pay out $1400 for installation. I have since opened a case with American Honda with an outcome pending. I have read many complaints indicating the consumer complaint process with Honda is long and tedious. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

I bought a 1998 Honda Accord EX V6 Coupe in 2001. The question shouldn't be what happened? but more like what hasn't happened? For starters, there happened to be a recall on my car when I purchased it, but wasnt notified about this when i purchased it. So, when I recieved the postcard in the mail notifying me of a recall and to call them - I was told about the previous one (the one I didnt know about), as well.
They asked what the mileage currently was and when i told them 64,000 they told me that the re-call is only covered up to 60,000 miles and that I would have to pay to get it fixed!!!! I have never in my life heard of having to pay for a re-call to be fixed!! That was only the beginning. I have had to put anout $7000-$8500 into my car since I purchased it for random repairs (not including accidents or oil changes,etc).
Most recently I was experienceing problems when my car would try to switch gears. It sould rev up to 4000, and sometimes up to 6000, RPMs when i would press down on the gas pedal and then finally switch gears and jerk forward violently. After having my transmission rebuilt I continued having the same problems, but they were worse!!!!!!!! I WILL NEVER, EVER IN MY LIFE PURCHASE ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH HONDA EVER AGAIN!

We purchased a 2005 Honda Accord. Beautiful car, but one big huge problem. Since owning the car we have to replace the front bumper every year. Under -10 temperatures, the minute we touch a little snow, the bumper just cracks and eventually falls off. Last year, the second year the bumper was replaced we thought we would not replace it, as it was the second year the bumper had cracked.
Unfortunately, a few months after it had cracked, one piece fell off. This is the third year we own the car. A couple of weeks ago, under -30 while parked, somone hit the front bumper. Again the bumper cracked. Anyother car, the paint would have been scratched, but certainly not a crack. We think this is ridiculous. Each time the bumper is changed it's $1000.00 Quite expensive to own a car that has such a great reputation. If you own it for 10 years, as long as it is winter driven, you're looking at $10K just for bumpers replacements. Hope you do post this one.

We purchased a used 2001 Honda Accord on 12/14/2002. It had 27,861 miles on it. On 10/28/2003 we took it in stating that the transmission jerked when coming to a stop and slipped at times while driving. The car had 60,062 miles on it at the time. Lute Riley Honda service dept. found that it had a deffective transmission and replaced it with a remanufactured unit from American Honda and cleared all the codes.
Our Honda started to have the same problem again and we took it to Lute Riley Honda again recently and the service manager told us there was nothing they could do because the car had too many miles. Right now it has 157,858 miles on it. Mind you, we already had a remanufactured transmission put in at 60,062. We have a little under 100,000 miles on this transmission. We service our vehicle with an independant mechanic who works for a Honda dealership. We drive the car a little over 100 miles a day to and from work all highway miles.
We feel that we have taken care of our car and feel that the transmission should last longer then this. The word we hear is that you break in your Honda at 100,000 miles. With this reputation that is the reason we purchased a Honda. We are upset because we received a letter in the mail for a class action suite against Honda due to faulty transmissions. We felt that if Honda knew they put in a reconditioned faulty transmission at the time, they would honor replacing it to make things right for their customers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We thought Honda was a good product and are dissappointed with the product and service and may consider never buying another Honda again. If they make it right, then our next car may be another Honda.

I purchased 2007 Honda Accord LX recently. After I took delivery on this new vehicle, I went to the official Honda website and discovered the listed standard features on the Honda website for 2007 Accord LX doesn't match the one I purchased. I called Menlo Honda to inquired my concern. I got transfer from a sales person to the finance manager then back to the Sales manager. The sales manager named Irsan Salem told me that it is no longer Menlo Honda's concern. I need to take it up with Honda the manufacturer on the discrepancy.
I am extremely surprise on the level of service by Menlo Honda given that I brought up the concern only two days after I took delivery on the vehicle. I would expect that Menlo Honda would be much more interested to clarify with Honda the manufacturer rather than just let their future customer sort things out on their own afterward. I was also reminded by the sales manager that they will sue me for 3 times the value of the vehicle if I were stop payment on my check due to discrepancy or false advisement. That I want the standard features listed on the Honda website.

My 1999 Honda Accord has less than 60,000 miles on it and the transmission failed. I searched online and discovered this is a widespread epidemic, but Honda does not issue a recall. I have been a loyal Honda customer, but am switching my allegience. If Honda does not want my future business, Toyota will. Please include me in any class-action lawsuits.
I do not have the use of my car for over a week and the bill will be over $3,000.00 for the transmission and labor costs.

The Y tube in the exhaust system on my 2002 Honda Accord failed (rusted through) at the 4 1/2 year 41,000 mile point. This is not a reliable performance as I see it.

I got a letter stating that Honda has extended their warranty on the OPDS system (controls the airbags). I have had my OPDS system checked twice and was told that the next time the OPDS light goes off I have to come in that the OPDS would have to be replaced.
When I called Honda to tell them that the light went off twice in the past week I was told that I couldn't get Honda to cover the cost because the light was not currently on.
The light had to be on when I brought it in to Honda. I have a 2002 Honda Accord. I tried to talk to Honda about replacing the unit asap because I drive back and forth from Mass. to CT. and I didn't want to be halfway through my drive and have the light go off, leaving me with no airbags.
I was told that when the OPDS light is on that the airbags will not deploy. This scares me because I am traveling a majority of the way on the Mass Pike and I-84.
What if I am driving and the light goes off and I get into an accident?
Honda will not replace this unit without the light being on when it clearly states in my car history at Bernardi Honda in Natick Mass that the OPDS unit needs to be replaced if the light comes on again.
I feel that Honda is going to keep pushing me off and not fix something that is highly unsafe.

While driving in Honda Accord I was hit by another car in the front right side. The passenger side airbag deployed but the drivers side did not. The car is totaled. Shouldn't both passenger and driver side airbags go off in front collision?

My brand new 2004 Honda Accord had an oil change and caught fire less than 2 miles down the road. Auto Spa, the local company, blaimed Midas, the maker of the oil filter for the fire. Midas blaimed Honda and Honda blaimed Auto Spa. Needless to say; I was the one who lost out the most. I had my car fixed by my own insurance because no one wanted to take responsibility and fix it. Midas says that their oil filter does not fit on Hondas and that they have informed all of their dealers. Auto Spa said that they did not get that memo. To everyone who has bought a Honda, check with the dealer to see which filter you can use. Now only the Honda dealer touches my oil changes -- until I can get rid that horrible death trap!

My aunt was driving on the freeway when another driver cut her off. in an attempt to avoid an accident, she lost control of her 2003 Honda Accord. The car rolled several times. During that, her airbag did not deploy. she sustained major neck and spinal cord injuries.

On Saturday, August 30, 2003, my boyfriend and I were involved in a terrible car wreck that nearly took our lives. I was driving my 2003 Honda Accord on W.T. Harris Blvd in Charlotte, North Carolina about 6:30pm when something small like a possum ran into the road. My first instinct was to avoid from hitting it, sadly I ended up running off the road on to the grass median and hitting the ditch. The nose of my car went down into the ditch and caused my car to flip head over tail three times to oncoming traffic on Harris Blvd.
During the last flip, and now on the wrong side of the highway, while still in the air, a man driving a white Lincoln Navigator crashed into both my front and back passenger side doors. The Navigator carried my car a few feet and then when he was finally able to stop my car slid off his hood then spun around a few times and then the car jumped the guard rail. If the guard rail had not been there, we would have gone plunging down into the woods. The front tires were hanging on to the guard rail.
I am not sure what happen to the man in the Navigator, but I do know that his SUV was seriously totaled upon our impact and he had to be air lifted to the hospital. My boyfriend and I had to be cut out of the roof of my car and rushed to the Trauma Hospital. Believe it or not, none of my air bags deployed during this accident, NONE.
I was driving a brand new 2003 Honda Accord EX, only 10 months old, and none of my air bags deployed. Honda is rated as having some of the safest vehicles on the road, but my brand new car flipped over 3 times, was hit by a big Navigator in both my passenger side doors, in which the impact totaled his SUV, but none of my Honda air bags deployed. The injuries we suffered were a direct result of these air bags not deploying. (My doctor is willing to document that).
From my body not being stabilized by the front or curtain side air bags my knee hit the dash board and caused my leg to be pushed back which broke my pelvic bone at my hip. I now have a plate and seven screws in my hip. I suffer with a significant amount of pain daily that I am trying to learn how to control. My hip will never be or feel the same. Not only have I already started to develop arthritis in my hip but there is also a chance that I may need total hip replacement surgery in the next 8-10 months.
My boyfriend is pretty banged up and having many problems with his shoulders back and neck. His doctor has recommended that he have surgery to repair his shoulder problem and fix his pain problem. This surgery will put him out of work for 3 months. During my investigation with these airbags, I found in the new Honda’s, that if one of these air bags is activated and deploy, they will all deploy. This means that if the Honda flipping over 3 times was not enough to activate these air bags then definitely the Navigator colliding into both of my passenger side doors should have activated all of them.
Basically, we were told that we had no case. My previous attorney spoke with Joan B, a representative from Honda, who explained to him that if I wanted to file a claim against Honda I would have to go through my insurance company. The crazy thing about that is Honda went and picked up the car from the junk yard before they said this. Honda was being very cooperative with me until they picked up that car. Well unfortunately I am having a huge problem with my insurance company paying for my accident; therefore, that is not an option right now. I told him that I thought that is why people hire attorneys..

My 1997 Honda Accord SE hits a patch of ice and control is lost. The car hits a steel guardrail HEAD-ON at 40 MPH. It was a tremendous hit and I was sure the entire front end was damaged, possibly totalled. Guess what? NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. Everyone, including my insurance company was shocked at this.
I lost thousands of dollars over the course of the radiator event, and had to solve the problem myself. RE: the accident -- brusing across my upper body from the shoulder belt, lost time at work from pain -- due to no airbag deployment. Why?

My 1994 Honda Accord slipped on black ice and subsequently hit two parked cars (and two separate carport supports also). The speed was approximately 30 km/hr. Both front airbags deployed but only partially. They were ineffective as they just came out of their container only and did not even reach the driver, never mind protect him.
In this case nobody, including the driver, was injured. Had this been a high speed accident, having airbags that only deploy partially would negate the reason for having any airbags at all.

On August 27, 2003, Wednesday afternoon, I was driving my 1995 Honda Accord Wagon and was at a full stop on a freeway exit ramp in Sacramento, CA when a Ford F-250 pick-up truck (going about 50-60 mph) rear-ended me causing my car to hit the car in front of me that also caused it to hit another car in front of it. My car was considered totaled and my airbags did not even deploy. Fortunately, my passenger and I had our seatbelts on.
Aside from a whiplash injury, my passenger had a shoulder dislocation from the impact and I had a toe fracture. At the time of the accident, my passenger and I did not have any insurance coverage due to unemployment. Medical treatment had to be sought for these injuries and are being paid out of pocket until the person at fault's insurance starts paying.

We bought a '97 Honda Accord 3 years ago. We have had on-going brake problems, which have never been corrected. We've spent almost $1,000 on hubs, bearings, rotors, pads and other parts we were told we needed. I just recently heard that Honda won't come clean about the '97 Accord and the brake problems we, and apparently others, are having. Three sets of rotors have done us no good.
We refuse to sell this car to someone and make Honda's problem their problem. Are there any pending class action suits, or other activity occurring that will remedy this complaint for those of us who are trying to do the right thing? We are getting NOWHERE fast? Thanks for any help you can provide. I'd like to see this resolved before I die of old age, with this car sitting in my driveway.
Damage Resulting:
$1,000 in repairs. Countless hours and expenses related to the multiple trips to 3 brake shops and 2 Honda dealers.

I have a 1998 Honda Accord and have had the transmission replaced twice. Oh by the way the vehicle hasn't hit 100,000 miles yet! Interesting isn't it? I was wondering if you had any course of action? I have contacted NHTSA and left several complaints. I have also searched via the internet and found this problem widespread. Honda is basically ignoring the consumers, What should I/we (Honda owners) do?

On August 24, 2002 I leased a brand-new 2002 Honda Accord Coupe LX. I was so excited, but I didn't know what I was in for! I didn't have much to complain about except for a few creaks and rattles when going over bumps and cheap tires but besides that nothing major. That is until sometime in early April when I came home, parked my car, went in the house and took a nap. Three hours later I woke up to find my neighbors watching my rear windshield shattering into millions of pieces, although the glass itself was still in place. It hadn't fallen through yet.
There was no clear point of impact as if someone had intentionally damaged my vehicle, it was broken evenly across. However it appeared that the cracking could have started on the driver side of the window where one of the fuse boxes that controls the rear defrost is located. So I just figured maybe a rock hit it on my wy home and it took several hours for the cracking to occur and I just didn't notice it when I got out of the car and went into the house. I just took it as a loss and had my insurance company send someone to fix it. I thought that was the only time it would happen.
I was wrong.On June 5, 2003 at about 7am I started my car and turned on my rear defrost because it was raining and my windows were foggy. Immediately after turning on my rear defrost I heard that oh too familiar cracking noise coming from the passenger side of my back windshield -- the same sound I heard the first time I came outside to find my windshield shattering on its own. So I turned it off and it stopped.
I figured it was in my head and it was just the raindrops hitting my car. I pulled out of my parking space and pulled around the corner when my rear windshield exploded, shooting glass so hard into my car that some of it flew under my seats! I slammed on my brakes and tried to get my composure and stop my hands from shaking. At first I thought someone put a bomb under my car but I realized that the loud explosion was from my rear windshield imploding. I went back into the house and called my insurance to come and fix the window because I need the car to get to work.
They were supposed to have someone out that day to fix it but because of their error(that's a whole other story) it didn't get fixed until the next day causing me to miss 2 days of work. I brought the car to a dealership not far from the one I brought it from to be examined. (I brought it there because they gave loaner cars and my dealership didn't). After having someone from corporate Honda come and examine my car which only included turning on the rear defrost, since both times I had the rear defrost on, which seems to possibly be the culprit. They also ran an "electrical test" whatever that means and found nothing.
So now I am still very much not comfortable driving my car and find myself constantly checking my back windshield while I am driving because I am terrified of this happening again, possibly on the highway. This has turned out to be a very traumatic experience for me...more than I thought it would be. If I had passengers in my car the second time they would have been severely injured with multiple cuts to the neck and face and luckily I do have photos that I took from both occurences to act as evidence.
Basically what they told me at the service department is that I have to wait for it to happen again for anything to really be done, especially since there were no injuries. But what about my lost time at work and the fear I live with everyday driving my car knowing that my rear windshield could explode again at any moment?
This is not as unusual as it might sound. Windshields are under quite a bit of pressure, just like their owners. Hot objects expand and it may be that the defroster heating the window pushes it over the edge. Some cars are more prone to this than others. There may be an oddity in the Accord Coupe or in Monique's particular car. Then again, it may be a coincidence it happened to her twice and it's quite possible it won't happen again.
She shouldn't be too worried. Safety glass is designed to break up into chunks rather than slivers. While it's unpleasant to pick your windshield bits out of your face (ask anyone who's done it), an exploding piece of safety glass generally doesn't cause severe harm to those nearby.

It cost me between $400 -500 to figure out what was wrong with it. Honda only reimbursed me $153.00 for the cost of fixing the actual part, not everything I had to do to even figure out what was wrong with the car. Their acknowledgment of the problem defect wasn't made til many months after the fact.

My sister's car was taken to Casey Honda in Va. for the transmission to be looked at due to slippage and other eratic behavior. I was informed that a new transmission would be necessary. The car, 1999 Honda Accord coupe V6, was purchased 4 weeks ago. It only has 44k miles -- 8,000 over the factory warranty. It has come to my attention that trans. problems are a major issue with this model and year. I have read hundreds of stories from other disgruntled Honda owners similar to mine. Some of them were fully compensated by Honda some were not but at least met half way. I was yelled at, insulted, and hung up on by their case manager Holly, who denied me of any warranties or aid in this matter.

I bought the car because Honda had a reputation of being economical and dependable. I have been driving for 12 years. 10 of those years, I drove a Toyota. I didn't even know what a transmission was. I serviced my car every three months and after driving this Accord for just two years, the transmission needs replacement. I am not a wealthy woman, hence the economy car. Now I am stuck with this car that needs about $5000 worth of repairs, a weekly rental car to be able to function and work. I called on Honda Care, the service department that might be able to offer some assistance, and after a week of calling and leaving messages everyday, I have given up!

I have a Honda Accord V6 year 2000. I drive only on highways and have now around 64,000 miles. I always had my car serviced at the dealership. I have just been told that I have a major transmission problem that requires a replacement. This is truly unusual. I would just like to know if this kind of failure is normal or typical.
