My 2017 Honda Accord sat undriven in my garage between 2-3 months, as I have two others cars we drive as a family. I drove 2017 Honda out of garage and heard a rubbing noise. Stopped car and walked all around it and looked underneath because assume it was something rubbing on tires. I had it towed to Penske Honda in Indianapolis and they told me the rotors get lots of rust on them when they sit. My 2002 Honda accord did not and it sat for longer period. My wife's 2012 BMW that sits all winter EVERY winter does not. My 2007 Tahoe that sits during summer does not. My new 2018 Tahoe that sits during summer does not. But my 2017 Honda apparently does and was charged over $300 to get the rust rubbed off the rotors.

I thought to myself, ok new car I should no longer let the Honda sit this long (things happen and it SUCKS but oh well). My Honda just sat 5 days this time and again, same problem with rotors. Once I drove rotors 1/4 mile or so the rust rubbed off and no more noise. Called Penske back and they told me this happens with all Hondas now. Honda apparently is starting to buy rotors from supplier with some serious defects if their cars have to be driven nearly daily in order not to get rust on the rotors where you hear a very loud rubbing noise. The auto shop told me this, they see it not only with customers, but their own Honda Accords. I thought it was new cars only, but apparently manager at Penske Honda has this happen on his 2009 Honda Pilot.

I am 48 years old and my parents had Honda before I was driving and I have owned a Honda my whole life (the only time I have now owned a Honda was between Honda's for approx 3 months when my wife and I shared a car). I sold my older Honda Accord immediately when I put it up for sale then waited for good deal on new Honda when we purchased the 2002 Honda Accord.

I have owned Honda's my whole life because they have always been reliable cars, but being told this by the Honda Service department is sad. This 2017 Honda Accord was going to be my soon to be driving teenager daughters first car, but I am going to sell it and buy a new Chevy Product. Honda was always better than Chevy while growing up, now it's truly reversed in my opinion and rather have 2 american cars anyway, so no more Honda vehicles for me.

I would give 0 stars if I could.... I bought my 2018 Accord this year in May 2019 and I already had to trade it in due to their faulty “safety features.” I had a situation going about 30 mph when the brake light flashed on and the brakes slammed on automatically. There was nothing in front of me! I had chatted with someone at Honda and asked since there’s been multiple reports of the same issue if they were going to submit a recall and they said not at this time. These “safety features” obviously weren’t ready to be released into current vehicles on the market. I can’t imagine driving 70+ mph and have the brakes slam on for no reason like some other owners are reporting. Super dangerous and it won’t be long until there is a fatality due to the issue.

Have owned this car for 6 months. Since I purchased it the transmission made violent shifts in the first three gears especially when it was cold. I took it back to the original dealer who kept it for a few days, performed some upgrade and claimed it was fixed. It was not. I brought it to another dealer who after three different service visits was instructed by Honda to replace the transmission on this car with 2500 miles. It was replaced. Still did not shift smooth. At my next oil change I told them it still didn't seem right. They told me that it's operating normally.

Fast forward to 4 months later. I was on an extended drive and get the warning light: "Transmission Temperature Near Limit. Avoid Heavy Acceleration And High Speed". Scary huh? Car went limp. I was not able to dismiss the message while I was driving. It continued to come back on immediately. So my guess is that it never really was fixed. Calls to Honda go unreturned. Voicemail after voicemail. This car is obviously a lemon and needs to be treated as such. This is no way to treat customers.

I had a Honda for 12 years and recently purchased a NEW 2018 Accord TOURING. The car was purchased in 2017. Soon after the purchase I experience rattling in the dashboard which has continued and after multiple visits to Honda service department no one seems to know the fix. Have contacted American Honda numerous occasions informing them as well. Finally was informed that the service department was advised to tape the HUD area to prevent noise which was only a Band-Aid the rattling continued. After a while I was tired and sick and tired of it. I just recently traded it in for the 2019 TOURING assuming that I would not experience that problem. After owning the car for three weeks the exact issue is present in the new vehicle. I am livid.

I returned a call to American Honda after numerous calls since 2018 and the customer care rep by the name Alan who had been assigned to my case has no customer service skills or empathy for what I’ve been dealing with. I have attempted to reach out to a supervisor or manager and have not had any results. I was now informed that the new fix for the 2019 and the 2018 TOURING is to have the service rep pull the entire dashboard out and attempt to fix it. This is insane. I did not have any intentions of purchasing a brand new car and within three weeks need to have the dashboard pulled out until they can Figure out how to stop this annoying rattling. Again, livid!!!!

Today I experienced something really scary in this car. It freaking traumitized me and gave me whiplash. The car brakes for no reason!! How does Honda know this and don't fix the problem! If my kids are in that backseat and it happens and someone rear ends me my kids will get smashed in if someone is coming fast behind me and my car comes to a complete ** stop! I am so pissed about this and reading reviews that it has happened to other people. There was no one in front of me. The car feature was off!!! It still blinks brake. It blinked twice then completely braked and came to a complete stop! My neck flunged forward. It felt like the car turned off then It took a couple seconds and let me give it gas. Thank God the car behind me did not hit me!! This car can kill my kids or even me! Very scary I made an appt to have it checked tomorrow.

I had bought a new 2018 Honda Accord LX and recently discovered that when you unlock the door, only the rear interior light turn on, the front map lights do not turn on. I took it to the dealer service department. After inspection was told this is the way the car is designed and there is no way to turn on map lights when you open the door. I consider this a serious design flaw. It is inconvenient at night and also a safety hazard since there is insufficient illumination when you get into the car. This is not the type of feature one checks when buying a new car and I would not have bought this model if I knew then about this shortcoming. I have 3 other Honda cars and the map light turns on automatically in them on opening the door. I have also filed my concern with Honda.

This past Saturday, I was driving 45 miles per hour on a two-lane road. All of a sudden my car beeped twice, the brake warning flashed on the dashboard and the car stopped violently. The seat belt locked down across me. There were no other cars near me, and there was nothing in the roadway. My foot was still on the accelerator when the car stopped. It took a few seconds before the braking system released. Once it did I was able to continue driving home. My neck has been hurting every since and the pain has gradually been getting worse. I have an appointment today to get checked out.

This was the third incident with the brakes since purchasing the car, January 2019. The car was taken in to the Honda dealership a few months ago because of braking system warning light had come on twice while I was on the highway. The mechanic said there was nothing wrong with the car. Both of those times the car slowed down gradually. This time it came to a sudden stop. When I got home, I told my husband what happened; he called the Honda dealership to report this incident.

I bought a new 2019 Honda Accord EX-L with 11 miles on it. Since then, a tire has burst, the brakes are bad and the electronic system - with Apple CarPlay - is a mess. We are a Honda family but I am seriously disappointed with my purchase and fed up with the Honda dealerships nearby that have blamed the electronic system failure on Apple. And when that didn't work, it was my phone's fault, although I travel extensively for work and the rental cars I use all worked like a charm with my phone. This isn't the Honda experience I signed up for and feel a little hoodwinked in the process.

Updated on 03/04/2019: This car is a piece of... Well, you know the word. After 4 days in the repair shop they fixed the A/C on the car. Too bad they put a scratch on the hood and scraped a wheel that nobody knows how it happened. They had to take the entire front fascia and bumper off, but they didn't put the scratch on the hood. The car had been detailed an hour before it went into the shop to fix the A/C. The wheels were all shined. One had a scuff mark where it hit a curb and the scraped the wheel. I got into it with the service manager and he said it didn't happen there.

UPDATE: Today everything just stopped working. No cruise, no nothing. The buttons were not working no matter what I pushed. I didn't know what to do. I finally pulled over, shut the car down praying it would start. It did and it just all went away, meaning it all started working again. There are electrical problems with this car. I've got another 2 years and 10 mos before this lease expires. I am so glad I leased this lemon. I wish I went back to the Old Man's Chevy... And the last year of the Impala. NO MORE HONDA EVER. They are NOT RELIABLE like past customers say they are... Just try a new one folks and you'll be singing the blues too!

Original review: I've had my Honda Accord Touring Sedan just 8 weeks now. Less than 1400 miles on the clock. We had a sudden heat wave and I wanted to try the A/C out. All it blew was hot air. I took it to the dealer. They have now had the car 4 days and it is still not fixed. There are NO LOANERS either. So I'm paying for a new car that I'm unable to use through no fault of my own. The technology in this car is great. The ride sucks and this is NO TRIP CAR. The cabin noise is excessive for a redesigned car. This was an issue that I read disappeared with the 2018. Can't prove it by me. Road noise, and engine noise are issues.

The fan has an annoying whistle at low speeds. The interior of the car is well thought out. Everything is where it needs to be. The outside design is an eye catcher. But overall I would not give this car any better than a one star. I traded a 2013 Impala, that I bought USED and went over 100K without one issue. The last place I thought I'd end up owning a Honda was the repair bay! May very well be the last Honda I own.

My 2008 Honda Accord has always made a weird noise when I turn the car on since I purchased it (June 2018). I didn’t think too much of it but then it started making the noise as I’m driving and oil light starts flashing. So I did a full synthetic oil change and it was fine for 2 weeks or so and then it started happening again. There should really be a recall on this seeing it can do damage to your vehicle's engine. I almost regret buying a Honda now. Will the Honda dealership cover this problem?

Absolutely loved this car when I first purchased it. I have a very long daily commute and I was pulling just under 50mph. Ride was super comfortable and for a hybrid it has much better acceleration than anything I test drove. 3 months in, I would have given this car 5 stars for sure, but... out of nowhere, I stopped getting good gas mileage. I went from almost 50mpg, to right around 35mpg. That’s less than the regular Accord is rated at. Driving hasn’t changed, same exact drive to work, nothing has changed except I’m only avg 35mpg.

Went to the dealer left the car running so they could see my 33.8mpg and they couldn’t find anything wrong with. I went from filling up just a little more than once a week 4.5 days), to having to fill up twice a week. Found a couple of forums where people have had similar experiences. Really really disappointed. I spent the extra money to get the extra gas mileage and would have been better off buying a regular Accord.

I was driving my 2018 Honda Accord Touring 2.0 when it suddenly had a hard time accelerating. The car seems to have a hard time shifting and trouble accelerating. On the way to the dealer all the warning lights came on and the trouble accelerating continued. When I arrived at the dealer (Honda of Denton) a mechanic told the service advisor that it was "turbo lag" and normal. It's not turbo lag when the car has a hard time shifting and doesn't accelerate.

I left that dealer and went to another Honda dealer 20 miles away and I'm still waiting for a diagnosis. So this new car with only 5200 miles that I purchased to have reliable transportation is not. I wasn't offered a loaner or a rental so I'm out a car until they decide to fix it. This is supposed to the North American Car of the Year and I'm starting to regret buying it. Emails to Honda of North America go unanswered, it's very disconcerting that a company will not stand behind its product. I feel like now that I bought I'm on my own. Last Honda ever!

Very worried of its reliability. I bought a 2018 Accord Touring brand new with 3 miles in May 2018: 4 days after purchasing the vehicle, a piece of plastic stripping on the side of the windshield came loose while driving on the highway – got replaced under warranty. About two months later we realized a stain on the windshield mounted camera black housing. Dealer inspected it and found the windshield to be leaking. They tried to seal it for a whole day and they were unsuccessful, they put me in a loaner for an extra day while they replaced the entire windshield. Two days ago, I opened the glove compartment and it could not latch back. So I’m now driving in a 6 month old car with a duct taped glove compartment till I can find time to go back to the dealer.

This morning while driving to work in the rain, I realized that the windshield that was just replaced is leaking. This is our first brand new car and we never imagined these many issues within 6 months. Our worry is, how did this vehicle get past QC? More importantly, if we are seeing these many issues within six months, what is in store for us when our 3 yr/36K miles warranty expires? Any advice on what I need to do with the vehicle? It really seems unjust to spend all this money and be spending my Saturdays at the Dealer waiting for vehicle to be fixed.

My husband and I bought a used 2012 Honda Accord in 2015 for its reliability. It had approximately 20,000 miles on it in 2015 when we bought it from CarMax three years ago. My husband uses the car for his long commute to work. Last month, the car started making a noise under the hood from inside the engine. It seemed to only happen when it was running for a while and the engine was hot.

We took it to the dealer (Honda of Murfreesboro) in order to have it checked out since we did not want to have an issue while driving on the highway for safety reasons. Initially the dealer couldn't find anything wrong because they did not run it when it was hot. We wanted them to take a second look at the car because we felt they could not find it since the car was not hot when they looked for the issue. They were very agreeable to take a second look. Since it was a Saturday, (8.25.2018) they kept it over the weekend to be examined on Monday. The dealer let us know on Monday (8.27.2018) that the timing chain needed to be replaced at the tune of $2,702.56. Not the timing belt - it was the timing chain. Naturally, we were shocked since this car was purchased for its reliability.

It was true that the car had 135,000 miles on it but it had its oil changed regularly and was well maintained. The last car we had was a GM with 275,000 miles on it and it never needed a new timing chain. Our other car - a 2009 Dodge Journey with almost 140,000 miles on it did not need a timing chain... We feel this should have never happened to a car of this age and mileage that had been well maintained. I would like to point out that the dealer's Service Advisor, Jordan ** answered our questions patiently and calmly both over the phone and in person. He told us that this is a rare occurrence and does not normally happen to these cars.

We voiced our concerns about Honda's reliability and he was kind and patient explaining that they could not find any reason behind it. Its just one of those things. I appreciate Jordan's patience with our questions but the fact remains that a 2012 Honda Accord needed to have the timing chain replaced for almost $3,000 dollars. The other issue is safety...we could have been stranded on the highway or the engine could have chewed itself up causing even more damage if we had not taken it to be looked at and insisted that the dealer take a second look at it just to be sure.

Given that both of our cars, have the same amount of miles on them, we have been considering purchasing another vehicle. This repair has caused us to reevaluate Honda and the car itself. I was prepared to consider giving up my Dodge that I am so pleased with due to its age but in light of this issue - I am considering trading in the 2012 - Honda for a different car that has more reliability. We are so disappointed in Honda itself. This car should have some sort of rebate or something given that this type of repair is rare. We did ask the dealer if there was something that could be done but they declined knowledge of any programs that could help us with this issue.

So, we are left with a huge repair bill and damaged trust in the Honda brand...with no remedy. Given this situation, our next car is unlikely to be a Honda. My advice to you, dear consumer is do not buy Honda - Buy Dodge or GM...looks like they both have Honda beat in reliability...My GM had 275k miles on it with a functional, safe, reliable timing chain.

I have a 2010 Honda Accord that I purchased brand new in 2011. Over the past 3 years I have taken my car into 3 different shops to fix the exact same problem 4 different times. It is hard to find someone I can trust to give me an honest opinion when it comes to repairs so I shopped around. All have given the same response. My car is burning oil and I also need to replace the spark plugs (and one time all the coils). It wasn't until this last time I had enough. This was the 5th time I am going in for what I believe is the same problem.

My car misfires, idles rough and I lose power and it sputs as I am driving. I realized there has to be more to this issue and I shouldn't have to replace plugs and coils this often. I was getting my oil changes and regular maintenance when I was supposed to. This time I decided to do some research and found many people that had the same problem. In fact, there was even a class action lawsuit against Honda for this very problem. However, Honda never informed me of this issue. Apparently, during a certain time period there were certain Honda Accord models that were known to have this same issue and it is considered a "defect" in the engine and the only way to fix it is to either continue to replace the plugs, (along with any other parts this problem affects) or completely rebuild the engine.

So, this time I went to the Honda dealer to have my car looked at. They came back with the same diagnosis. For the 5th time, I had to replace the plugs. I explained what I read about the class action lawsuit and the problem I was having and apparently, the mechanic has seen other Accords come in with the same issue. However, the extended warranty that Honda granted to many Accord owners, as a result of this lawsuit, with this issue was never granted to me. I was completely unaware of this granted extended warranty and never received any notification from Honda about it.

And because I had the plugs replaced at other shops vs. the dealer there was nothing they would do in the way of covering the repair because the plugs that were used from the last shop I went to were not genuine Honda plugs or parts. That's the time I was told I could either continue replacing plugs or have the engine rebuilt. If I was aware of the extended warranty and the problem with this engine as well as the class action lawsuit, I could have had these repairs done at the dealer and I wouldn't have spent the thousands of dollars it cost as a result and the damage this issue has caused.

The engine had to be replaced but the only consistent problem I have had is that the gear shift keeps breaking and the air conditioner has a leak. I also had to replace the radio. I suggest fixing the gear shift to something that works better and doesn't keep falling apart. I would also make the cover over the steering wheel to be less sticky. The car however drives extremely well and is very reliable.

My 1995 Honda Accord wagon is my favorite car. It has the best gas mileage, has enough space for my little family, has run amazing even after being stolen, and we have never had any problems. Also, it has a sunroof, automatic windows, the back seat is roomy with enough leg room for my very tall husband and the hatchback has enough space to fit my very large dog when we take him places. We picked this car over others because of the extra space and reliability that Honda has given us before. But the automatic locks on the car malfunction every once in a while, the car is just old enough to make diagnostics and because the car is older, the radio and other technology in the car is difficult to replace.

I bought my used 2013 Honda Accord in April of 2016. Since the beginning I have kept up with all the maintenance requirements for my vehicle and have done my part to take good care of my car! My Honda has roughly 90K miles and I have not had any mechanical issues until now. I noticed that my car would not start like it normally did before; at the first attempt. My car gradually required numerous attempts to start the engine, sometimes requiring up to seven attempts. I took my car to the Honda Dealership in Jacksonville, FL last week. They gave me a diagnostic stating that my starter is going out and that the estimated repair cost would be between $800-$1000 depending on the type of starter I elect to purchase.

I decided to go with a remanufactured starter because the cost would be much less and it has a better warranty compared to a new starter. My thoughts (RED FLAG) when the service advisor told me that the starters for my year, make and model were backlogged. I had the dealership order the part anyways; downside is it will take about a week to come in. Just my luck, here we are just four days later; Saturday, (4/14/18) my car failed to start completely. Had to pay out of pocket $150 for towing and $225 for a vehicle rental for the next week. Honda is still waiting for the part to come in and I am disappointed that I am having to deal with all these extra expenses.

After further research, I've learned that this appears to be a common issue with 2013 Honda Accords. The number of consumer complaints regarding this same issue is astronomical. My real question would be, why has the Honda Corporation not recalled the starters for all 2013 Honda Accords? I've never owned a Honda before and this entire experience has left feeling insecure about the Honda vehicles reliability. This is not something any car owner wants to feel. I am truly disappointed and am considering never buying another Honda!

This time dealer told me it's because of starter problem. Changed that but the grinding noise still there. Spending lots of money and they don't know how to fix the problem. I called Head office again and they asked me to see a different dealer in Calgary. Went to Calgary spend lot of money but no use. They are busy guys who aimed only to make money.

Every day when I start my car I feel so disappointed and depressed. I bring my car to dealer again last month and they told me it's because of Tension belt. They changed that and now the situation worse. It's making noise more than before. I got videos that I captured. It's a grinding noise and it's very loud sound that occurs only on cold mornings.

I am wondering why Honda can't fix this problem. Now dealer told me they can't do anything and called headquarters and they told me they also can't help me. I am very sad and disappointed because of this problem. If anyone reading my story or anyone can help me I would give all details and work order that I have. Nobody wants to go through my situations.

If Honda you guys reading this please contact me. I am planning to give a report to customer court and BBC channel. I will upload a video in Youtube. Spending huge amount of money for car and now they can't help. If anyone planning to buy Honda car dont go for that. It's a crap. It's better to buy Toyota. If anyone can help me for dealing this problem please let me know. This review is from an ordinary guy like everyone. I am a human being and I need justice for this. Thanks Everyone.

I've had various issues with our 2014 Accord Sport as opposed to our 2003 Acura CL-S MT that ran like a champ for almost 300k miles. First off day 1!!! (A) Cruise control would get stuck and even pressing the brakes the car would still want to go full speed, brought to the dealer but had to rent a car for a full week. Thanks Honda. (B) Battery dies before car is driven off the lot, should have been the first thing listed but it's on here, battery has now been replaced 3 times before 35k miles! (C) Alternator was replaced along with another battery. Had to rent another car until they had time to work on it, Norm Reeves Honda dealerships in Southern California. (D) Brakes won't stop squeaking, replaced at dealer then Midas and to no resolution it still does it intermittently.

    (E) Now the transmission (CVT) whines!!! Honestly we love(d) Honda above all other cars even our Benz AMG only because of reliability but it looks like that only applies to older Hondas. We may take another route unless they start to offer 100K mile bumper to bumper warranty like Hyundai and Kia does. It's the least they can do as their cars are no longer bargains to say and are becoming more thriftily made. Yes mileage is great, looks are not bad but reliability is what tops everyone's list. Come on Honda you guys really need to step up your game before your reputation is completely wrecked. By the way we treat our vehicles very good as they are our only mode of transportation for work and taking our children to school etc.

Updated on 01/16/2018: The CVT transmission ended up failing under 50k miles and was replaced at the dealer under the 60k lawfully required warranty, while at the dealer there was another customer who was on his 2nd CVT replacement for a fairly new Honda. I really don’t understand what is going on with the quality of Honda as of lately but I am very unhappy and dissatisfied as to how Honda handled the situation, they would not compensate with any extended warranty knowing these transmissions do not last long in addition to all the other issues we have had with this vehicle. Keep in mind this 2014 Accord sport has always been driven with care and consideration for its longevity as we had in mind to keep this car for the long haul. With that said and with the way the matter was handled by Honda Motors USA we will not be keeping the vehicle and exploring other options from here on out. Hope this review helps someone.

Me along with several other 2013 and 2015 Honda Accord owners have had the same problem. When you push start the car, it clicks on the first and second try. You have to try it several times in order for it to start. Honda has not issued a recall on this matter, but they have issued a recall on incident that has occurred a few times. People are paying a ridiculous amount for a faulty product such as a starter. I am going to social media and discourage people from purchasing these models. These are supposed to be dependable cars, but they are garbage. Countless people have contacted their Honda dealerships about it, but they refuse to correct it and they leave the consumer with the bill to pay for this faulty starter.

I bought my 2014 Honda Accord in October 2013. I have had nothing but Onslaught problems. Every time I go to the car I never know if it's going to start. All my service has been completed at the local dealership. I've had the battery replaced 3 times. Almost nearly of had to replace it the first time they did it just shy of a year. The next year just over a year they told me I was 10 miles over the warranty and they could not replace the battery. Force me to buy a battery on my own.

The battery was at a unreasonable amount. Went to a local Walmart had a battery put in. That battery has now died which they did not give me back. Bought an October 2016 still had a warranty on it. Was told I had to buy a Honda battery. 2 days after I bought the high inflated battery my car still doesn't start. I am at my wit's end. I am waiting to receive the receipt. They were having IT problems so I did not receive a receipt at the time of purchase. And this was done at Honda of the Desert in Cathedral City California.

Honda has advised that no defects in materials or workmanship were found. However if I can provide any other information they will review and consider my complaint. My own resolution is to not give any more business to Honda until they identify and correct the problem, and to cherish my 2007'Accord that has been steady and dependable with far fewer bells and whistles to malfunction.

    Original Review: Aug. 14, 2017

I bought my 2016 Honda Accord EX new from the dealer in Spring 2016. I also own a 2007 Honda Accord which has been very dependable. On July 14, 2017 I drove my 2016 Accord to a local drugstore. As I was turning right, slowly, with my foot on the brake, to pull into a parking space, the engine suddenly roared and the vehicle picked up speed. I had the brake pedal pressed to the floorboard, with both feet at this point, yet the car would not brake, instead continued to accelerate, climbed over a sidewalk, smashed a steel bike rack, and plowed into the brick wall of the store. My airbag deployed. Stunned, I turned the car off as it was still trying to plow through the wall. The car left a hole in the brick wall. Significant damage to the front end of the vehicle, I had air bag burns on my left wrist, and bruising of my sternum, ribs and internal organs.

This car has only 9300 miles. Fortunately I did not run over anyone, which was a real possibility, and I checked under the vehicle when I stepped out to be certain there was no one under there. There is no scarier moment than thinking you might have run over someone! Insurance towed vehicle to their closest approved body shop for evaluation and repair.

I called American Honda, and was informed that my case would be referred to a special representative who would handle my complaints. The representative did contact me, took all the facts, and informed me that a special Honda representative would be sent to the repair shop to evaluate the car for defects. Well, the Honda representative did examine the car a week later and determined that there was nothing wrong (not sure how he or she came to that conclusion. I am sure they did not drive the wrecked car to try and duplicate the issue) and sent me an official letter denying any responsibility on behalf of American Honda.

I KNOW that Honda is aware of this problem, and have found other reports on the internet of the exact Unexpected Acceleration issue on the 2016 Honda Accord. The car, being so new, was not totalled, it is a month later and my vehicle is still being repaired (they found additional damage, and the total repair will be about $10,000). This is an extremely dangerous problem, and I will never drive this vehicle again.

The chances of this occurring again are high, according to reports. The next time this happens it could definitely cause death or serious injuries to other people AND me. Dangerous Honda defect which they will not take responsibility for. I want them to buy this death machine BACK. I am left with a wrecked car which significantly reduces the value of my almost-new vehicle. I will trade it in but with total transparency about what happened.

HORRIBLE for Honda to deny the problem until people are maimed or killed. I am contacting a class action attorney to advise me on next steps. I want to warn others about this awful issue. NEVER will I purchase another Honda, and have told everyone that will listen to avoid Honda at all costs, for it could cost you and others your lives, and obviously Honda corporate does.not.care. Beware!

Unfortunately, during my search for an Audi A5, I allowed the salesperson to convince me I'd get more value for my money with a Honda. As far back as I can remember Honda always had a reputation for great fuel efficiency, dependability, longevity, etc. I agreed to purchase my first used vehicle (i.e. 2013 Honda Accord EX-L V6) and have had quite a bit of trouble ever since. I love the car itself, but immediately after I purchased I had to quickly figure out what issues I was experiencing and get them fixed before my warranty expired; however, time was not on my side as usual. The issues I had/have are listed below:

    - Oil/fuel issues after "software update"
    - Starter issues
    - Acceleration issues: the car delays when I need to pick up speed quickly
    - Short battery life: just replaced the battery
    - Rattling noise coming from my sunroof at normal speeds

    - Rattling of the sub-woofer when the radio volume is 12 or less.

To quickly touch on the oil/fuel issue, I left my car with the dealer for repairs and during that time they decided to perform a software update which has cost me more money in fuel. The fuel efficiency isn't even decent anymore. I loved this car when I first bought it and now I already thinking about what car to replace it with.

I am writing this long review only with an intention of making readers aware of the atrocities of Honda Motor corporation and its dealer. Vehicle: 2015 Honda Accord with CVT. 20000 miles, single driver; Daily driving miles: 4 miles to office and back. List of problems: Transmission whistling noise after 15000 miles - attributed to CVT which it seems Honda does not have the engineering capability to solve and has the engineering incompetence to design such a transmission.

Steering wheel severe vibration - undrivable and makes my hands go numb; Vibration all over the vehicle in all driving conditions and exponentially increases when the A/C, heater is on, Severe drumming noise - unbearable; When applying brakes severe juddering motion causing panic to the driver that may result in accident. Engine Screeching noise when switching off, Interior parts rattling and worse over bumps. Very uncomfortable driver and passenger seats. The head rest is way too forward forcing the driver and passenger to always drive with head almost down causing rapid fatigue that may lead to accidents. Wonder if Honda has any respect for FMVSS 202 federal regulations.

Heavy tailpipe smoke during idling and all through driving. It never stops even after driving 100 miles. Windshield wiper blades came off the steel holder and the wiper metal was rubbing windshield glass during rain causing potentially unsafe condition, Rattling noise in door when door is closed, Continuous fluttering noise from inside driver side door; Severe juddering from roof when Sunroof hatch is opened. Sunroof hatch not closing after fully open - every time in the morning (even on warm days). Intermittent `boom'... `boom' noise from engine during idling and while driving.

Tire pressure warning always on and does not sense tire pressure; Interior is not completely sealed - which means there is permanent leak. Easily sensed when closing door - no pressure, develops inside that cushions the door while closing, Neither the heater gets hot fast enough nor the AC works fast enough. Rear glass is so thin that the defrosting copper strips sandwiched in the glass has distorted the glass while manufacturing itself resulting in jagged view of the rear. This is another safety concern. Some crook in Honda R&D saved a few dollars for the company by thinning the glass. Car looks like it is always going on bumpy roads even in smooth road.

The weather strip in the windows do not scrape the mist settled in the glass completely. Almost 50% of the area is not scraped. This means that mist water and rain water is getting into the door and probably working its way to rust and make a mess inside. It is shamelessness of Honda that advertises itself as an advanced company and after so many years of being in the field could not even manufacture some down to earth technology.

Now the story: I took the car to a dealer for the first time complaining about severe vibration and unbearable drumming noise. The technician and I went for a test drive. While driving he said all Honda Accords have the vibration problem even Honda CRV. The dealer arranged for the DSM to visit the dealer on a later date for a test drive. On that day the DSM, myself and the Service manager of the dealer took the car for a short drive. On returning back she coolly said she cannot sense any vibration-rubbing salt on wound. Nothing was done. She did not say that the CVT transmission has a perennial vibration problem that Honda's incompetent engineers has not solved.

The dealer took the car inside while I was waiting in the lobby. After taking back the vehicle to my surprise the vibration HAD reduced slightly. I could not believe even the slight reduction in vibration because the dealer did not say that he did anything to reduce the vibration. Later I came to know that, without informing me, the dealer had changed the transmission oil on the advice of the DSM. That was the reason for the slight reduction in vibration. But after a month the vibration has increased to its previous high levels and now I hate to drive the car.

Suddenly one day Front Collision Warning "FCW Failure" came up in the dash. And with that, all other warning lit up including unsafe to drive, Lane Departure Warning - LDW failure, ABS warning failure. Went to the same dealer. Dealer took the car inside while I was waiting in the lobby. He came back and said that the ABS cable on the rear left has got cut and took me to show while the car was service jack. I asked him how it could have got cut of its own. He said rat or squirrel might have chewed it up.

I was aghast at his answer. I inspected the ABS harness and could not find any signs of teeth marks. It was cut exactly at the end of a hard grommet attached to a bracket. The ABS sensor cable has a very hard outer sheath that is very hard for any animal to chew. He said it would cost $240 to replace the ABS sensor harness. The cable itself costs only $39.95 at the dealer.

Immediately I understood that he was trying to fleece money and he had deliberately cut the cable to make money risking my safety on the road. Since there is a suspension link just in front of the ABS harness, there is no way even a road debris could have cut the harness. There was absolutely no signs of stretch in the harness. My conclusion is that the service manager DELIBERATELY CUT THE ABS HARNESS to not only make money but also to attribute the FCW failure problem (which I am sure cannot be solved by Honda or doesn't want to spend time on fixing those failure) to the broken ABS harness. Probably advised by Honda itself.

I too got a Product Update letter from American Honda Motors. Inc to take the car to a dealer for transmission software update: It says "On some 2015-16 Accord vehicles, under certain driving conditions the software in the PCM causes a low-pressure problem in the continuously variable transmission (CVT). This may allow the belt in the CVT to slip. If the belt slips, you may see a surge in RPM when driving at highway speeds. IF THE BELT SLIPS LONG ENOUGH, THE TRANSMISSION WILL BE DAMAGED, and the DTC P1890 (CVT speed control system) will set."

What will Honda do? "To prevent permanent transmission damage related to the software in this action, HONDA STRONGLY RECOMMENDS HAVING YOUR VEHICLE UPDATED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Honda will update your vehicle's software free of charge. Please contact any authorized dealer for an appointment. Please plan to leave your vehicle at the dealer for at least half a day to allow them flexibility, in scheduling."

California Owners Only: "The DMV will not renew your registration until this emission recall has been completed. After completing the repair procedure, your dealer will give you a Vehicle Emission Recall - Proof of correction certificate. Please make sure the dealer completes and gives you the certificate. Keep the certificate for your records as proof that the emissions recall was completed. Submit the certificate to the DMV only if the DMV requests it." Lessor Information: ... blah... blah.

The above letter from Honda clearly shows some of the problems explained by me above. While writing this review, I called the customer service for the service campaign and asked him "If there were a need to replace the transmission with another one as mentioned in your letter what warranty would you give to the new transmission?" He said it would be the standard warranty of 35000 miles or 3 years FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE. Which means the new transmission will not have a warranty of 35000 miles on itself from the date of installation. I have another 15000 miles left for vehicle warranty. And Honda transmission is sure to fail after 15000 miles. So by the completion of my 35000 miles warranty from the date of purchase, I have to change the transmission at my own cost or I have to live with it.

From the letter mentioned above "California Owners Only" it may be that American Honda might become the next Volkswagen that had cheated EPA and customers. Every day a new problem crops up in the vehicle. It is driving me crazy. I will never ever buy a Honda product. It is very sure that American Honda did not test any of the system either for safety, or function, fit and finish. I am very sure even a simple seat comfort study was not done. Or they were done but the greedy profit making was on top of their mind. They just picked the cheapest of the systems available on their shelf and assembled it in a hurry and sold them to make huge.

The seat back profile needs to be forward a few inches to make the seat more comfortable. But some crook might have saved some money by scraping off the foam in the seat back cushion and probably got his promotion. It all happens in the automotive industry. Filthy greed, even if it compromises safety. If they had not even tested the systems for function there is no way they would have tested the durability of the anything. Sure American Honda has ripped off millions of customers like nobody else in history and continuing to rip-off. And last but not the least: Consumer Report is such a massive humbug/scam/fraud.

My children are everything to me. So, when my husband and I decided we were going to buy a car for our son, we did a lot of research. We finally decided on the Honda Accord and bought it from Kolbe Honda on August 10, 2000. We have been active parents in terms of helping with the maintenance of the automobile. The key to start the car began to deteriorate until it broke. The replacement and reprogramming cost over $160.00. I called Honda to speak with someone because I feel we should be reimbursed. After all, without the key, the car cannot be driven.

In an effort to find a representative from Honda was nearly impossible. I wrote to someone in the Public Relations department who finally gave me the name of a representative. In the beginning, she was very polite, asking a million questions and indicating they were going to do everything to resolve the issue. I wrote a lengthy email, included the repair report along with the invoice, made many follow-up calls, etc. The claim was filed on 9-16-2016. She told me it would take 6 weeks for a Case Manager to review the claim.

Last week, October 26th, 2016 someone else from Honda called indicating that they would NOT be able to reimburse us. No reason given. When asked to speak with someone else, no names were released; not even a Manager's. We also had an issue with a recall. The recall notice was mailed explaining that until the replacement air bag parts came in; no one should be sitting in the passenger seat of the car. It took many months until we were moved up the list for the parts to be ordered. In fact, when my husband took the car in for the key repair, that's when Honda expedited our air bag replacement order. We are a family of four with friends, family and many connections. Since there are many choices to make when buying a car; I would believe that positive promotion would surpass negative. When you call Honda, the automated response says, "Thank you for being a part of the Honda family." I certainly don't feel that way.

This has been a painstaking process and we are still not reimbursed with what clearly we should be! PLEASE TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! An automobile costs thousands of dollars to purchase and the key should never fall apart and if and when it does, you should be reimbursed. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have a 2013 Accord that was bought new in Dec 2012. I have had the seat trim repaired 4 times and have been told that Honda will not repair this problem anymore. It has broken again and the dealership cannot explain why. I have been told how good these cars are but this car has been junk at best. The dealership has told me that I need to get in and out of the seat in a different manner in which I did what they ask and it's broken again. When I bought this car there was no "instructions" on how to get in and out of the car and I am very frustrated with no good answer to this problem. Unless Honda can give me a reason and repair for this problem I will not buy another and am looking into legal action concerning this problem. Honda has no way that I have found to email a complaint and I am getting very frustrated with this piece of CRAP that I paid well over $30K for. I will supply pictures if requested by Honda directly.

I bought my Honda Accord in 2014 and within the first month the check engine showed up. So often the oil was under the normal marks regardless of normal oil change quantity. I checked with the mechanic and he couldn't find fault at first and he added a quart as well and the check engine went off. The third time, the mechanic realized that the piston rings were sticking out thus causing too much consumption of oil. Tried to call the dealer who sold me the car but they only told me that is done through a third party engine warranty. The mechanic explained that fixing the piston ring set could end the problem. He explained to me that was a manufacturer's problem and I can get reimbursed for the cost incurred.

Well, I called the Honda and they told me to send paperwork. The first case manager transferred me to another after sending paperwork and then before I knew, the third case manager became more commanding than friendly. All I needed was my $900+ that I spent fixing the car. Now I call the case manager will never talk to me. Very interesting for Honda North America.

We used to stand firmly behind Honda vehicles. We replaced our Hondas with Hondas and we recommended Hondas to others looking to buy. I loved my 2002 Honda Accord Coupe EX V6 so much that I opted to replace the transmission with it failed at 90k miles. I wasn't happy about it, but I went ahead with the work because I was told that my Honda would last well beyond the issue with the transmission. Before opting to replace the transmission, I researched the issue and found hoards of information online about Honda's ongoing issue with their transmission. I contacted Honda Corporate offices and they offered to help by paying 25% (others had reported online that Honda helped with up to 30-50% for the transmission work).

My transmission is failing again at 60k miles on the new transmission! I contacted the Sales Manager, Rey ** at San Leandro, CA Honda where they performed the transmission work and he did not return my call/email. Then, I met personally with the Service Manager at Honda Oakland where I purchased the car; I sat in his office and explained my situation. He asked me to forward a copy of the invoice for the completed work to him so he could contact Honda Corporate. A week went by and when I call/email him for an update, he will not return my calls/emails either.

It's clear that Honda not only has a problem with their transmissions but also their ability to provide reliable customer service. I'm so disappointed in their lack of responsiveness and lack of customer care. It appears that even Honda employees don't stand by the products they sell. Beware when considering the purchase of a Honda. Do your homework, the internet is full of reviews on their sub par transmissions. Save yourself the headache and stress and choose another car maker. Hondas can no longer stand behind their products or customer service brand they try so hard to build.

So I have had my 2011 Honda for 4 days...I bought it used with 161,000 miles. The car has been driving fine ever since we have had it (even though it only been 4 days). So this morning when I left work, I was at the stop light waiting on it to turn green. Once it turned green I tried to leave and it felt like I ran over a brick or hit something which I know I didn't. I checked under my car and I had not hit anything so I put it in drive and the car starts revving up and my foot was not on the gas, so I put it in part and the noise became worse. I tuned the car completely off to shut it up. And thinking it was over, then all of a sudden the car starts rolling backwards, the only thing that would stop it was the emergency break... I really wanna know what is the problem and can I be fixed by the dealer under my 3-month 3000 miles powertrain warranty.

Couple of hours later my tire sensor is on again. I had try to take into my local tire shop just to see if they find the issue but they said they don't see anything wrong with tires. Just some air needed here.

I am again in the Honda dealer with the same issue. I don't know what to do anymore. I need help with my issue. I think I deserve some type of answer or fix. My car seems I been a Customer for 17 years never had any problems with any of my cars. I need a answer. Hopefully I won't get into a accident with this car. My family is very afraid that I have to drive this car with the tire sensor because I can't even get a loaner car from Honda to take the time to evaluate my car. I recently had a terrible Honda Motors USA customer service experience based on the poor handling their own recall issues. I initially, received a notification that the SRS control module was faulty and not to impact the side of the car or slam a door to prevent side air bag deployment. Then a secondary recall notice was sent indicating no one should ride in the passenger seat of the car due to the Takata bags being deemed unstable/unsafe.

After waiting for fixes that never came I felt I needed to provide a safer mode of transportation for my wife and daughter. I intended to sell the car, but felt morally obligated to make potential buyers aware that these were open recalls with an undetermined resolution. Unfortunately, this lack of any resolution from Honda scared all the potential buyers away. At this point I was left with the option to continue driving what Honda deemed an unsafe car or trade the car in on another. I opted to buy a new car (another Honda Accord), but the dealership pays a trade value vs private party sale value. I essentially felt forced into choosing between paying a monetary penalty or risking health by disposing of an unsafe product this way.

I later became aware Honda is providing $35 daily for rental cars from the time they sent the recall out. This was never made public and I only found out about it after I had taken my new car in for a regular service. I reached out to Honda Motors to discuss this loss in value and see if they were willing to offer a "goodwill resolution". I explained the situation to the Honda customer service personnel and said I was impacted somewhere between $500-$750. The response was "Sorry Honda can't help". I then went on to point out that this was equal to having a rental less than 3 weeks.

At the point I traded the car in I would have been in a rental several months if I had been aware of the plan they quietly made available to other owners. Being a loyal customer I feel betrayed by the stance Honda Motors has taken with handling the recall at what ultimately turned out to be my expense. Maybe someone at Honda actually will see this that can make a change or at the very least others current owners can be made aware that the rental option is available and won't be forced to choose between endangering themselves or losing money by disposing of a faulty/unsafe product to avoid injury and possibly death. I will seriously rethink a Honda purchase in the future based on the lack of customer service I experienced.

I'm experiencing the same issues with my 2016 Honda Accord EX-L V6. The car completely shuts off while driving. The incident occurred on three separate times before I could drop it off at the dealership. The last time it shut off in rush hour traffic with an 18 wheeler truck coming up behind. I had to quickly cut on my emergency flashers to alert the trucker that I had an issue. The car had previously shut down on two separate occasions. However, I dismissed it due to me not fully being engaged. The car shut off twice while the service manager took it for a test drive. The car has been at the service shop for more than 5 business days and they have yet to contact me regarding the problem/issues.

When I contacted the service department on the 3rd day, they stated that due to the issue being intermittent they have yet to diagnose the actual problem. Unlike the Melissa's post, the dealership provided a rental. However, I'm totally disappointed that a car with only 5000 miles is having a major issue. Driving a vehicle in which it completely shut down while driving is a extreme safety hazard. This was my fifth Honda. Previously, I owned four Honda Accords and an Acura, in which I traded for this lemon of a "BRAND " new car. My son still drives the 2004 Accord.

In speaking with American Honda, they have requested that I allow their CSR team until this Friday to resolve the issue. Frankly, I no longer want the vehicle. I can't afford to invest in a vehicle. I bought a brand new vehicle to avoid impending repair cost, not to pay a car note and service the vehicle simultaneously. I made a horrible decision by trading my car for this blue nightmare that's now haunting me. Will never purchase another Honda. Shame on Honda and its team members who built the Honda I purchased. Shame, shame, shame. Building death traps for sale!

Where should I start. I recently bought a 1999 Honda Accord LX Coupe as a replacement car for a 1983 Nissan Sentra. The car had 154,000 miles on it with the 3.0L VTEC V6. I wasn't about to pass it up as it was a step over the 4 cylinder that was in my Sentra. Now keep in mind my Sentra was great car, ran even when everything was wrong with it, even with a crack in the block.

Let's get to the Accord. This car is by far the worst car I have ever owned by Honda and never again will I buy Honda. The guy I bought it from was the only owner and nothing big had to be replaced. 2 days after purchased as I was rolling up the drivers window, it fell off the track and broke. 150$+50$ to have the window made as they don't make that specific window anymore. All done and dandy. Dished out the money and got it fixed. 3 days later as I'm getting myself some dinner from McDonald's, the car overheats and drains all my antifreeze all over their driveway. Replaced the thermostat and fixed that issue. 40$ for some new antifreeze, gasket, and the thermostat. Not too bad right?

Mother tags me on a news story that says that the NHSA has issued a urgent advisory on my car to have it repaired as my airbag can deploy and send shrapnel into the passengers. Take it to Honda for them to tell me not to worry about it and that my cars airbag isn't recalled. Tore my steering wheel apart and found that it is in fact the Takata airbag that's recalled. What will it take, me getting seriously hurt or killed and for me to sue Honda for them to realize that their customer service sucks. I'll definitely be selling this car and buying a different car as it's a piece of garbage and never again will I buy Honda. I will advise anyone looking for a good car to get something else, this car is a death trap.

I bought a Honda Accord LX about 4 months ago. I am leasing this vehicle. On Thursday the car stopped dead in the middle of Route 3 almost causing an accident. I brought my vehicle to the Honda service department where they told me nothing was wrong with the vehicle. The car kept stopping periodically as I tried to explain to them there was something wrong. This car is brand new. This should not be happening. Since Thursday the car is stopped and turned off by itself 7x. I brought the car back to them Monday where they told me a whole bunch of stuff was coming up on the system as they perform the Diagnostics. I asked him why did this not come up on Thursday when I try to explain to them there was something wrong with my car? They said they don't know. They said they were going to have to keep my car but they did not know for how long.

I asked if they could provide me a loaner. They said I would have to leave a $250 deposit and once I bring back the loaner the money would be returned in 30 business days. I am a college student with a part-time job and do not have money like that laying around. I explained this to them and ask them if they could do anything to help me considering this car is only 4 months old. They said no! I've been called Honda Financial where I got no help at all. I spoke to somebody named Anthony who gave me a case number and said somebody will be calling me back within a week. I told him I needed help now because I needed to be provided a loaner because they did not know how long it will keep in my car for. Anthony told me I would have to wait because there is people ahead of me with problems as well and just because my car is new does not mean that I come 1st.

I am a customer who is extremely aggravated and is not getting the best customer service possible. I feel like I was sold a defective car. There is no recalls on my vehicle. It should not be turning off while I'm driving or not starting at all at times. I left a message for the general manager and nobody ever got back to me. I called my service advisor today Andrew and he told me not to keep calling him that he would call me. He told me they still did not know what was wrong with the car and he can not tell me when it would be done. I told him this is my only source of transportation and I needed my car or at least an estimated date of when I would get it back. My school is about 20 minutes from my house and I also have to go to work. They are not providing me with a loaner. I'm pretty much telling me that I have to wait until they're ready to find out what's wrong with the car.

This is a brand new car and with the customer service experience and with this car turning off by itself in the middle of the highway while I'm driving is dangerous. I could have been killed or I could have killed somebody else. A brand new 2016 car should not have any issues at all. Now I have to wait and receive attitude from everybody that I come encounter with like this is my fault that I was sold a defective car. Honda should really be trying to accommodate me to the best of my needs considering this car is only 4 months old. Instead of giving me the runaround and not any straight answers. This place is very unprofessional and do not know how to treat their customers. This is the first time that I ever purchased and this will definitely be the last. I will make sure I tell everybody about this situation and I will encourage everybody I know never to purchase a Honda.

I've owned a 2004 Honda Civic forever, and never had a complaint. It made sense to upgrade and purchased a 2015 Honda Accord about 8 months ago. The salesman was great, he was very attentive and let me know that if there was anything wrong to bring the car in and everything would be taken care of right away. He told me that it was a Honda and it would be unlikely. When I purchased it new, I kept it at the dealership (Honda/Inver Grove) for about two weeks to add the extra items I purchased. When I received it, it looked good.

After an hour of driving, I realized that there was a problem with both the driver side and passenger window seals. The noise was annoying, so I brought it in. I was given a loaner car and called back in two days. After driving it again, I realized that there was no change. Same bad seal. I brought it back, again and ask if I could have a different car. There was less than 200 miles on the car. I was told that Honda doesn't replace cars and I couldn't get out of the purchase, it had been 2 weeks. I told them that I didn't have it for two weeks, they had it. The manager told me that they needed to try and fix the problem at least 5 times, and then they would need to contact Honda (They are Honda!) to try and fix it. I was told that it is a long process.

So after each repair, I came back complaining and the sales/manager kept saying they didn't hear it. The mechanic took it for a ride with me. After 2 minutes, I asked if he heard anything. He said, "How can you not, it is right in your ear." So he worked on it for 3 more times until the window seal was fixed. In 5 returns, the mechanic was able to fix the driver side window seal, but not the passenger side window or door seal. The manager told me that he couldn't hear or feel it when he drove it, and I explained again that the door seal noise is intermittent. I asked that he continue driving it, but he didn't. So, I'm stuck with a car that I don't want and it is annoying to drive.

Sometimes the acceleration increases at odd times and I need to brake (I'm not using cruise control). Another annoying item is that my smartphone gets disabled when I use the Accord, even when in Park it prevents navigation from working, unless I turn the car completely off to set up. When I called and asked if there was something I could do to fix it, I was told that "Honda wants you to purchase their navigation system." Of course. Wish I had my old Civic back. At least I got what I paid for and no headaches.

There are a lot of Honda Accord owners out there and many have had great experiences. Recently, I talked to a few who have shared similar experiences and agreed that they will not get another one. I was the only one who had problems with window and door seals. Thank goodness it wasn't some of the things that they shared. Until I sell it, I plan on using our old 2008 Saturn Vue. Less noise and more comfortable to drive. The MPG is less, but I don't care at this point.

The air conditioning in the Honda did not cool anywhere near as effectively as my 2012 Accord which I had traded in for this one. My back was sweating and car never seemed to cool down. It was working like it is suppose to but my impression is that they have made the compressor too small to adequately cool the car. To save money I presume. I mentioned to the salesperson the day before that the car was also smaller inside and out, did not drive as smooth and was not as quiet as my 2012 Accord. She said they were making the accord smaller to save money and for gas economy.

The whole reason for buying an Accord 4 door is to have a bigger quieter smoother riding car, not to basically have a smaller Civic. The air conditioning, inside larger space, and smooth ride in the new Hyundai Sonata was the same as my 2012 Accord. I guess that's it for me buying any more larger Honda sedans, since I am sure they are not going to do anything to reverse this trend of getting smaller and more uncomfortable.

I don't know what Honda did, but I don't feel the quality is in the newer cars that used be evident in the older ones. I have many complaints with the car, but the main complaint I have is the driver's seat being so uncomfortable. It is to the point that I think I might trade my new car in on something else and take the hit for depreciation on a new car... Just to be comfortable and not have this back pain. Honda can make better products. If you are thinking about buying one, I would get one from the dealer as a loaner for the weekend... And take it on a long trip, just to see for yourself: lesson I have learned when buying any new car.

I spoke with the general sales manager who did everything to avoid costs. He blamed the roads. I took him for a drive and he saw that my car pulled to the right however he blamed Los Angeles roads, Tire balance and at the end he said that pulling to the right is a characteristic of the Honda Accord 2015. I opened a case with Honda USA and I did not hear from them... I kept calling the case manager number this past 2 weeks and it's always going to voice mail.

I will be giving a Honda USA a chance to help me. The way the Scott Robinson Honda dealer handled the issue was far away from being a customer service. They were rude and made the impossible to avoid costs. One of the sales manager even asked me "did you hit your car?" So far the Honda Experience was terrible. I regret purchasing a Honda as the actual behavior tells me a lot about future behavior and what I will expect from them. The case number **. In 2012 I decided to trade my 2008 Toyota Corolla S in for a used one owner certified 2010 Honda Accord Coupe with a manual transmission. My Toyota got 41mpg and I thought surely my Accord would be just as good given it was a 4 cylinder & a 5 speed & a Honda. Unfortunately it only gets 21mpg which sucked. When I got it it had 24k miles on it. I loved this car but within the first two weeks I had it I started to notice some things; for starters I could hear this high pitch squeal every now and then when I was stopping. Then I noticed that every time I would put my car into reverse it would grind unless I put it in first gear then moved it to reverse which isn’t unheard of but to have to do it every single time I put it in reverse isn’t right not to mention that when I back up while in reverse it sounds like I’m winding up a really loud Tonka truck. Almost like it’s gonna blow if I back up a long distance.

I also noticed that oftentimes while I would be driving I would be in second and I’d shift into third and as soon as let my foot off the clutch and hit the gas it will pop out of third into neutral on its own causing me to shoot my rpms through the roof. So I took it back up to Honda where they informed me that I needed new brakes (already!). They told me that the sound it was making in reverse was normal (not quite). As far as the car popping out of third gear they said that they couldn't fix it because they drove it around the parking lot and it didn’t do it to them and tried to insinuate that it was due to my ability to drive a standard. I learned how to drive when I was 15 in a standard, took my driving test in a standard & passed & have been driving them for 11 years+. They still have yet to do anything about that and I've taken it there several times for them to look at & it’s occurring more often now.

Shortly after that my AC stopped blowing cold air so I took it in. They couldn't see any problems but it was completely out of Freon so they filled it up, put the dye in there. I brought it back after a week and they couldn't find any leaks - never mentioned a condenser. Said they couldn't do much else and it stopped blowing cold air again 2 weeks later. I just changed my brakes again 2 weeks ago - my ac still doesn’t work. The light for my passenger side air bags is now on and has been for months which indicates my seat belt tensioners or air bags need to be checked or fixed. Now I’m noticing a faint but high pitched winding sound while I'm driving as I shift through gears.

My car is certified and I have not managed to get anything fixed or looked at really since I’ve had it and my warranty is up. My cd player broke somehow & now sometimes when I have the ac on this fog like condensation stuff starts blowing out of my vents & that isn’t even all of the problems I have had and now I got a letter in the mail saying they have a recall that’s VIN specific for sticking piston rings resulting in high engine oil consumption.

I am thoroughly disappointed in this car which is sad because I was excited to own a Honda because everyone I’ve known who have had one (older models) were super dependable, ran forever without a problem, great on gas and I feel like maybe I just got the one lemon but after reading these reviews I see that is not the case at all. Which is sad - I wish I would have just gotten a newer Toyota. I’m a single mom & paid a lot of money for this car thinking it would be beneficial for me and my son and reliable for years to come & now I could maybe manage to sell it and pay off all but a couple grand on the loan I took out to buy it in the first place. So I can’t do that & I really only see this car at max best case scenario - see this car lasting 2 years if I’m lucky.

I did some google and found that Honda had this manufacturing defect in this model and lot of car were recalled for this reason.

I found NHTSA Campaign ID number: 11V395000 addressing similar problem and as of 23rd September 2014, 1.5 million (1512107) vehicles has been recalled for similar issue. The Honda recall number is R89 and the recall was placed on August 27th 2011, for Honda Accords 2005-2010 for the transmission. This issue is transmission power is not working as expected and it jerks while changing gear or speed. This is dangerous from driving safety point of view.

I need help by the NHTSA as I strongly feel that my case is genuine and with reference to NHTSA Campaign ID number: 11V395000, my vehicle should be considered for this recall by American Honda. Few days back while I was trying to get on the freeway and pressed the gas pedal, the gears didnt change and the car jerked badly with shift in each gear! Luckily, I didnt't have a crash from merging or rear traffic. It ran ok after that. But the next morning when I was trying to Reverse out of my garage it wouldn't move. I had change between gears and put it back in reverse then it started moving. However, after this episode I became skeptical and tested out the gear shift on the freeway again, and that jerking motion happened again.

I took it in to the dealership and they did a software reset. It test drove it, the gas pedal felt heavy and with a drag, and when I revved up it jerked again while trying to shift gears. I took it back immediately and this time the mechanic sat with me for test drive. The gas pedal didn't feel heavy, however, on the second round of revving up for testing gear change it jerked again, and his eyes were wide opened to see it happen. I was told I will get a new transmission now as the car cant seem to sense which gear it needs to be on. Awaiting their progress now. But I am disappointed with Honda's quality

I bought a brand new 2014 Honda Accord EX last year. After owning the car less than 8 months, noticed that my air wasn't cooling well then started blowing hot air. I took it into the dealership and they said a rock had busted the condenser and that was what needed to be repaired. I then asked if that was covered under my warranty and they said no. I researched online and saw how many people this is happening to and that this is a defect because of the new design to the car - it puts condenser at risk because it protected by a thin sheet of metal. I have owned Hondas in the past, never had this issue. I owned a prelude in 1993, Accord LX 95, and Accord EX 97. This is not acceptable.

After they replaced my condenser, worked for about 2 weeks then noticed it wasn't cooling. Took it back in and was angry. They replaced it free said it was defective condenser. So I paid 700 to have it fixed the first time and then I had to have it replaced because it was " defective", so they paid since it was covered under parts warranty. How about they pay for it no matter what because it is a defect that Honda needs to own up to. My mom also bought a 2014 Civic at the same time I got my Accord. I got phone call today she said her air went out - I can guarantee it's the condenser. Good luck. I told her you know what they are gonna say "rock or road debris has knocked a hole in your condenser". If this is true I'm getting a lawyer. I know a class action attorney who will be getting a phone call. I don't want the car anymore. I'm going back to Toyota or Nissan. I bought a brand new 2014 Honda Accord last November. About a month after purchasing the Accord I noticed that the driver's side rear taillight lens was touching the painted surfaced of car causing the paint to flake. Days later I returned to the dealership and talked to the GM of the Honda store and he said that it is common and that he's seen it a lot on the Accord Crosstour as well. I was also getting condensation on the inside of the taillights which would prevent my brand new car from passing a Maine State Inspection. So the Honda manager told me to go to their body shop and have them look at it. The body took the car for a day and the dealership provided me a loaner. So I got my car back and thought that would be the end of it.

So about a week later the paint in the same spot started to flake again. After visually inspecting the taillight I noticed it was still pressed against the quarter panel of the car! So I decided to return to the dealership body and talk to the manger. He told me that it's a factory defect and that there is not a whole lot they could do but that he would look at it again. A couple days later a get the car back and I can see that it's not rubbing against the metal anymore and my taillights had also been replaced because of the condensation. At this time it's end of Jan or start of Feb. So I'm finally thinking ok it's time to enjoy the car I spent over 20,000 dollars for, and did for a almost another year.

The following January after a blizzard I noticed that my taillights had condensation on the inside of the lights that's suppose to be sealed. Since being replace once a month or two after I bought the car and the car still being under warranty I went back to the dealership and spoke with the service manager. He called Honda of America and they said give him another set of free taillights. This would make the third set of taillight in a car with less than 6,000 miles.

So of course they had to order them. Made an appointment to come back in a few days for them to install. This is the point that I start to get frustrated. When I picked up my 14' Accord with 5,800 from getting its third set of taillights installed I noticed right away that the new tail lens is pressed back up against the quarter panel which caused the paint to flake originally. At this point I realized that the body shop never fixed the problem a year before, they just rigged it to look fixed and pass the problem on. Tired of dealing with dealership and body shop personal I immediately sold the car, taking a significant loss from what I paid for the car. To be honest with you I will never buy a Honda again. The quality in my opinion had gone downhill.

I leased this 2014 Honda Accord EX last March. Was great until I moved to Missouri in October. Since then I have had to take it in twice and am about to take it in again. It began blowing warm air instead of cold when the AC was on. The first time I took it in, they noted that it has NO freon left in the unit, but they could find no leaks/holes. So they refilled it and put a dye in the fluid and had me bring it back in 1-2 weeks. It worked great for approximately 4 weeks. Then starting blowing warm air again.

I took it to another Honda dealership closer to home and they noted that again, the car had lost all the freon. They kept my car the whole day, found the problem (small, microscopic hole), replaced the part and returned my car. That was about a month ago. Now I am blowing warm air again. Am about to raise some hell. This is a newer car and should not be having this problem repeatedly. I am just wondering if this is a common problem that people are having with this particular make/model, or if it is just my bad luck.

I checked online for what the issue might be. I found countless reviews of people complaining about damage to the compressor as a result of a rock hitting the under side of the car and piercing the compressor causing the refrigerant to pour out.

Having taken my car into the Honda main dealer in Venice, FL they did in fact did find the damage to the compressor exactly like the other people who were complaining about it online. They did tests but could not find a cause. Jan 02/14 they took the car back for repairs, but never found the cause. By Feb 13/14 I got tired of trying to deal with Honda Canada's customer services. I was supplied with loaners and rentals in this time period. I was continually told they were waiting on back ordered parts. I had the dealership call someone in authority at Honda Canada letting them know I wanted to make some kind of deal to get rid of this car. They were bluntly told, Honda makes no deals.

I ended up making a deal with the dealership to trade this one in on another same model at $6000.00 cost to me. I picked up the new one Feb 18/14. Within a week I knew it had the same problem. I managed to get $4000.00 of my $6000.00 back. So I ended up getting the Oil and Filter changed about every 3 weeks. The problem was weather related, so when spring came the problem went away but returned in the fall. They still had no fix for the problem. Was changing Oil and Filter every 3 weeks again. On Jan 07/15 Honda Canada had the Engine replaced. The new Engine is 3 times as bad and is also having leaky gasket problems. So as of know, I have scheduled Oil and Filter changes every week plus leaking valve cover gasket know and then.

Honda Canada has asked me what option would be acceptable to me, to get me out of this car. I told them I love my Accord but I don't want another 4-cyl. So they said they would look into getting me a 6-cyl at no expense to me. They seem to be backtracking on that and said they would give me market value on this car. This is totally not acceptable to me. They messed up a year and a half of my life on cars that never worked properly from day one and I should pay depreciation!!! I live in a small city but know of at least 6 other people with the same problem and are not getting any satisfaction out of Honda Canada. Some are going to just take the loss and get rid of their car at a loss and move on. Not Fair.

A few months ago, I received a recall notice concerning the driver and passenger side airbags of my 2003 Honda Accord. I contacted my local Honda dealer (Honda of New Rochelle located at 25 E Main St., New Rochelle, NY) on February 4, 2015 to schedule an appointment to have the airbags replaced. I also contacted the customer service department of American Honda Motor Co. that same week to see if there was any way that I could have my service expedited.

I was told by the American Honda Motor Co. customer service representative that I would hear back from the local dealer to schedule an appointment within 2-3 weeks. After such time, I contacted the American Honda Motor Co. representative handling the case, leaving her a message that I still had not received an appointment to have my airbags replaced.

After countless attempts and two months later, no one from either American Honda Motor Co. or the local dealer has returned any of calls. Currently, I am still waiting to schedule an appointment to have the airbags replaced. I think it's unconscionable that the representatives from Honda whom I've contacted have not responded to any of my inquiries regarding this matter. I do not have an alternate vehicle to get to work or drive my six year old son to school so I depend on my car as the primary source of transportation.

On February 11, 2015, American Honda posted a message onto its website stating the following: "We want to reassure our customers that Honda has an ongoing customer service procedure that addresses each customer's needs and concerns. For customers concerned about the issue of Takata airbags in certain Honda and Acura vehicles, our customer service will make arrangements for, as appropriate, the replacement of airbag inflators and the provision of or reimbursement for temporary alternative transportation."

It is very disappointing to see public statements, such as these, made by Honda expressing concern for the safety of consumers who drive their vehicles yet at the same time, no one from Honda has addressed my safety concerns or offered to provide a courtesy vehicle or reimbursement for rental car charges while I wait for an appointment to have the airbags replaced.

2013 Honda Accord - I have experienced hesitation upon acceleration after a stop or at low speed many times since buying my new car. I have now taken it to AutoNation Honda in Hollywood FL for the third time. The first time there was a recall and the body valve box was replaced but the hesitation continued. The second time I was told never to use the econ button and problem persists. Today I met with the Manager ** who said they had already looked at my car several times and found no problem so he was refusing to look at it again. He was extremely rude. Also said he had no last name when asked what it was. He told us to come back to meet with Honda rep. He later changed his mind and the shop foreman rode with me but of course the car drove fine. This man kept the car and will see if he can find the problem. This is very dangerous and needs to be corrected. I would not buy another Honda at this point.

After dealing with 3 years worth of dealership visits for my leaking piston rings, I had gone through 3 sets of spark plugs. I had broken down on interstates on numerous occasions. Honda dealerships refused to do anything besides oil consumption tests and new plugs. I could not take it anymore. They blamed all my problems on my exhaust, even though the factory exhaust is what causes these engines to fail prematurely. It is completely unacceptable how Honda treats their customers and this is why they have become #12, trailing behind the competition.

Last December, I finally found a dealership willing to help me. They had the car for a whole month. I knew the car had also damaged the camshafts and cylinder heads due to this problem, so the heads would need to be rebuilt along with the piston rings in the short block. Well after a month, I got the car back, it had received a brand new short block, rebuilt both heads, all free. I was so happy but skeptical.

After a few days, a vacuum leak occurred and the car was running lean, I took it back. After 2 weeks, I was called and told the car was ready. I picked it up, and after only one day, the car had a check engine light, telling me both heads were running rich, and after a little bit, the car would stall out at idle, constantly. Took it back, for the third time. After 2 more weeks, I was told the heads were rebuilt bad and the valves were too tight, and the heads would need to be replaced. Honda was too cheap to replace them the first time around. Now they have had to do the job twice, incurring another 9 hours for the job on top of the original 16.

Got the car back, after only having it for a handful of days in 3 months. Well just the next day, once again, the car was running rich. And then the misfires started on the entire front head. I just dropped it back off, for the fourth time in 3 months. I'm assuming it's the fuel injectors. Honestly, don't buy a Honda, you're better off taking the bus or train. They are absolutely pathetic.

Keyless start, doesn't always start the car, then it "locks" up, brake won't press. Keyless entry doesn't always unlock, then I have to use the fob. The lock button on the outside of the car doesn't always lock the car. Front Collision Warning alarms go off for no reason... no cars around at all. Tried switching to the other key fob, and it doesn't recognize the settings. Sometimes my personal settings change and go back without me changing them. Windows randomly open, and garage door Homelink doesn't always work.

I previously drove a 2008 VW Jetta and own a 2004 Mercedes. The Accord seemed like a sensible choice, good gas mileage, and high consumer ratings and great safety ratings. But I am so disappointed in this car. It is non-reliable, and I don't trust it. I have only made my first payment, and I wish I never purchased this vehicle. I think it has a computer issue, since everything is linked to the computer. After reading other reviews, I am worried the service department will just "send me home saying all is fine". I brought it in for service at the dealership, they said there were no problems and gave me a fuel cleaner to put in my gas tank when I fill up and to observe the car from there. Same problem occurred afterwards. I brought it in again.

This time they checked the car using a computer and also test drove the car with me in it. Went back to the shop but the dealer stated there were no problems. Two months later, the air conditioner shut off and vented only hot air. The next day, the air conditioner went back to normal -- cold air. We purchased the 2013 Honda Accord Sport from Big Island Honda - Hilo in July 2013. This is my 3rd Honda, so I'm a returning customer that didn't have a problem, until now. Within a few days, I was noticing a pause or hesitation when accelerating. It would not happen all of the time, so I chalked it up to my sensitivity or imagination. After about 2 months of this happening to me and other drivers, I knew I wasn't imagining the problem. I took the car into the dealership, they kept the car for the day and said that the hesitation didn't happen to them. I brought up the fact that I saw the complaints online and a recall, I was told by the Service Department Manager that my car wasn't in the VIN range for the recall. He dismissed my concerns and sent me away like I was a little child.

Then a year later, in August 2014, I took the car in again for the same problem. Mind you, I have taken the car in for the SAME problem, SEVERAL times through the year. Leaving the car at the dealership for the day, then for several days. Finally, in August 2014, the technician experienced the hesitation. I was asked to bring the car back for an appointment to repair the issue. A software update and part was changed in August. I was hoping this was the last of it but a couple days later the hesitation happened AGAIN!!! Not only to me, but to 2 other drivers. I took the car in again and left it there for another 3 days but the dealership claims that nothing happened. They couldn't duplicate the problem.

The car is at 4400 miles and I still haven't had any luck with the General Manager or Service Manager of the dealership. I was then asked to bring the car in on October 13, 2014 because a Honda Representative was going to be in town and they were going to test drive my car. We dropped the car off at 8:00 am and got a call to pick up the car around 3:00 pm. We went to the dealership as was told that the Rep from Honda drove the car and nothing happened. I didn't see nor meet the Honda Representative, so I'm taking the word of the Assistant General Manager and Service Manager.

We sat down for a meeting and the Service Manager asked what they could do to make the situation better. I told them that I rarely drive the car because I feel that this is a safety issue. I've had a few close calls when the car hesitates in the middle of an intersection or while crossing a highway. I've had a small accident in a parking lot because I couldn't move the car out of the way of a car reversing because my car hesitated. Right now, the only thing that would make me feel better is that they take the car back because I'm not comfortable driving it and I don't want to keep paying for a car I can't drive. The service manager says he will call today (October 14) with some options for me. Let's see if Honda can restore my confidence in them or will I take my money elsewhere. Did Honda sell me a LEMON?

The charge was $750.00 because it was not covered. I was told by Honda that this happens often since they changed design. I am angry that it has not been improved since they are aware of how many "pebbles" are damaging their vehicles. Oh, that's right it's my vehicle and my problem. I told them I was going to the news if I did not get this taken care of by them at no charge. They bargained by agreeing to pay half and proposed that I pay half. I refused. The manager agreed to make the necessary repair. I am appalled that Honda knows this is a weakness in design and are still charging consumers for repairs. My advice: Do NOT pay for this repair. It really is Honda's issue. Next, the battery....do not leave your keys in the ignition for any amount of time or goodbye battery. It happened twice to me.

BLUETOOTH: Connection to my Galaxy S4 (Verizon) worked for phone and text first 2 days, then text stopped. 'Cannot support this function'. Dealer - no clue, wait for update (update was kit-kat). Updated, no change. Frustrated. Later tested boyfriend's Galaxy S4 - (AT&T), his text and phone worked with car. Back to dealer - tested with many phones, worked with other phones, then didn't. Dealer ordered and replaced control panel. Worked with other phones, but not Galaxy S4. Dealer decided it's a phone issue. Okay, guess I can't have that feature. Weekend of October 18, 2014 - update 4.4.2 to phone. Suddenly text available again! Alas, for only 2 days. Stopped working. Put in voice command for son's cell phone... how is 'Paul Cell' so similar to 'Home'?? Voice mode said so. Had to come up with another voice command.

DOOR HANDLE SENSOR: Driver side door handle sensor to open car when key fob nearby stopped working. Passenger side works fine. Brought to dealer - part ordered, handle replaced. Now works.

TPMS: Safety issue! October 23, 2014, left work (I work at a Middle School) and started drive for quick errand. Car sounds funny... like window open/hear more road noise. Made stop 1/4 mile for errand. Back in car, drove another 1/4 mile before pulling over to look. Flat tire! Not thump, thump but I am driving on the sidewall of the tire! (see picture) Turns out new TPMS (Tire Pressure Mgmt System) monitors rotation ONLY after 40MPH! Gone are individual tire sensors. Nail in tire, plugged. But issue is I was going on a highway if I didn't pull over... what would have happened if I went 65MPH on a bad tire?? TPMS does not notify driver when car first turned on that there is an issue. You have to wait until going fast!

OTHER: Why does only Touring have Homelink? I had to buy a garage door opener, always had Homelink. Why can't music from phone connect to speakers in car? When viewing menus, some you can't back out of - have to use display button on steering wheel.

The day driving off the dealership lot I noticed the loud wind noise coming in from outside by the driver's door with the windows closed. I did not have the AC or radio on as I did when testing the car where the salesperson had a certain route they could not alter under 40 MPH. The (TSUNAMI) loud wind noises occur at 40 MPH or greater on a car with less than 100 miles on it or if ANY cross winds are present. I notified the dealer ASAP and the next day the dealer said it could not be replicated after I had five different people drive the car (a licensed car mechanic) and said this is a parts/manufacturing issue period. The sales person agreed that the issue was ongoing as the 2013 Accord had a TSB repair by HONDA because of the massive complaints and final lawsuit loss. Yes, this does not affect all the Accords built in 2012-2015, however, if you just paid $35,000 for a new car it should be built solid.

I notified Honda America (HAHAHAH). They directly said that NO Accords have ever had problems with wind noise in the data base. I explained that four websites with their names and last year HONDA TSB fix for the 2013 and the customer service representative just said she was unaware of ANY complaints about noise and I am the first one to inquire. So NEW Honda buyers be WARNED 2014-2015 as my neighbors Accord has the exact same wind noise and Honda, like the last ten years will await a CLASS action lawsuit before issuing a TSB fix. The dealer will not repair it because Honda does not pay them under a TSB fix number (UNTIL a LAWSUIT). Other than the TSUNAMI wind noise level, wearing ear plugs and or turning up the radio very loud with the AC on high, it's a good car. I KNOW HONDA can and will do better!

Just paid $500 that I DO NOT HAVE to get my AC condenser replaced all because a tiny pebble got stuck in it. Honda warranty does not cover it. I am so angry I could scream. Apparently this has happened to many new Honda owners and Honda is DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT! My mechanic said that Honda conveniently has a ton of condensers in stock. The whole reason I bought this car was because I have owned three previous Hondas and have never had an issue like this. I am absolutely floored by this. If I don't get a reimbursement AND a fix for this, I'm getting rid of it. Pissed.

Bought my car brand new from dealer. 105,000 miles later my transmission died while driving home from work. To get it fixed with a new timing belt, and water pump, valves and plugs was... well, First quote was $7100, next was 6600, and Honda told me just to turn it in and get $500 for it. Eventually I found someone to work on my car for $4300. Very disappointing. Sell your 2004 V6 before you have to spend this much!

I was driving down the freeway today and my air conditioning stopped working. I immediately drove to the Honda dealer and they put my in a rental car. At 3pm today the service manager called me to let me know that I had apparently hit a rock or a tree limb or some other object in the road that caused my a/c condenser to be punctured. I asked if this was a common problem and he said he sees three to four cases a month of this happening.

I called Honda customer service and told them what has happened. They said that they don't know of any complaints and I told them they need to read these reviews. This is clearly a known problem and I am not the first person to be hit with this $485 repair. I have only had the car two months and I told Honda that regardless if they fix the condenser for free or not I am trading this vehicle in as soon as it's fixed. If this happened after only two months and others are experiencing the same problem then I might as well plan on spending $485 every couple of months. This is my fifth Honda I have purchased in 3 years and if they don't do a buy back on the vehicle I am going to officially be done with Honda.

I bought 6 month a brand new 2014 Honda accord sport and I put aftermarket part like a remote star Alam system and hid lights. I have a problem with my AC. It blow warm air and less cool air. I remove all the aftermarket parts and it still does it. I took the car to the dealership more than 5 times and they tell me it could be the aftermarket parts. I took it off everything and now they don't find the problem. What should I do.

I have 2013 Honda Accord (22,000K). My a/c was not cooling, so I took it to the Honda dealership in Seattle. I was told a rock/debris hit my condenser and the condenser would have to be replaced. The condenser part will cost approximately $170 plus Tax, but with installation it will cost $823! After all of my research online it appears this is a widespread problem with the design and Honda is actually making money off of the defect by charging outrageous service fees to fix the problem. I feel so disappointed with Honda defect design and also to pay this much money each time road debris hits my car!!!!

2013 Honda Accord Sport. 7,500 miles. Purchased it brand new in 8/1/13. 7/13/14, Maintenance Minder light came on. 7/16/13, 7 dashboard lights came on making my car undriveable. This made my electric steering, brakes, speedometer, odometer, airbags were all work much differently than usual. I somehow was able to drive it to the nearest Honda dealer. The next morning they called me and told me a rodent chewed through the engine wire harness causing $2,000 worth of damage NOT covered under warranty. They explained that a Honda tech would have to remove the engine to hangs the harness. To make matters worse, they told me there were only/sure harnesses available in the entire USA and I had to wait for a week to have it all repaired. I want Honda to waive all of the costs. They made a horrible design for the wire harness location susceptible for a rodent to cause major damage. Thank God me and my family didn't get injured.

I bought a Honda Accord EX 2013 in May of 2013 @ Koons Honda in Manassas, VA for about $30k. Eight months (7k mi) later, the windshield molding starts tearing in various places. When I took it to Koons Honda for repair, the service manager informed me that the tear was not covered by the 3 years or 36k mi bumper to bumper warranty that the car came with as the damage probably occurred at a car wash. I proceeded to inform him that I take my car regularly to a brushless car wash. He then referred me to the district Rep for Honda who then denied any warranty coverage for the defective item. This not the kind of defect that one expects to encounter in a $30 vehicle. I will file another complaint with BBB. If I get no resolution, I will file a lawsuit against Honda for breach of warranty.
