I saved for months to buy a Ford Expedition. I didn't want any car notes so I paid cash. Parked my 1997 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer at 9:30 p.m. My neighbor calls me at 3:30 a.m. My truck's on fire! I just bought it two weeks earlier for $6,000. Gone. I'm mad as hell. And Ford can go to hell too.

My 2003 E-350 series box van burned to the ground along with my entire mobile locksmithing business while I was asleep that morning. Had I not awakened to use the bathroom and go outside to smoke a cigarette I may very well have lost my children who were sleeping almost directly above the mystery van on fire. Forensic investigators deemed the cause "UNDETERMINED" but they wont release the findings to me and said I wouls have to make any inquiries to the insurance carrier. (ALLSTATE)

On Thursday August 4th, 2005 at 1:20 PM, ten minutes after sitting down at my desk, I was told by co workers that my 2002 Ford Harley edition F-150 was on fire in the parking lot. The fire originated from the engine compartment and within 10 minutes my truck was totalled. I never had any problems with the truck until this incident. I called Ford and they took my info and told me to let my insurance company handle it. Shouldn't Ford be fully responsible for the fire? Why should I have to go through the nightmare of buying a new truck when its their products defect?

My 1998 Expedition had an electrical fire (while in my garage) on 8-3-05 about 90 minutes after I came home from work. The key was not in the car. Luckily, my son came home, opened the garage and saw smoke coming out. I immediately tried to back the truck out of the garage, but the brake pressure fuse had blown (due to the electrical fire) and the vehicle was stuck in Park. Thank God the fire went out by itself and only ruined the Speed Control Deactivator wire harness - burned it up.

I let my daughters drive my 2001 ford explorer to Destin, FL on 8-3-2005. Shortly after parking at the outlet stores, the truck caught fire and severely burned the interior of the truck. The driver side window had to be broken to put the fire out. The fire department could not determine the cause of the fire.

IN april of 2003, our 1994 Mercury Grand Marguis started on fire at 2am in the morning. The fire hit the gas water heater line and subsequently the fire went into the attic from the attached garage and the home was destroyed. Luckily, the vehicle horn going off by the fire woke us up and my family and I got out. We did lose a kitten in the fire.

On July 11, 2005 my husband took my 1987 Toyota 4Runner to work, and parked by a 1995 Ford F-150. When about an hour later he was paged to come move my vehicle. When he went outside, the 1995 Ford F-150 was COMPLETELY engoulfed in flames, and had caught my passenger side, and the side of one other vehicle on fire. My Toyota's passenger side was COMPLETELY melted. There is not any plastic that wasn't melted left on it.

I was sitting in my 2000 Ford Expedition at a shopping mall and while waiting on my wife the vehicle caught on fire. For some unknown reason I was able to crank the vehicle and move it away from the building and several other vehicles. The vehicle was a total loss. The fire investigator gave me an incident report that stated the cause of the fire was from the cruise control switch.

The Ford XLT F150 model year 2000 was parked in my garage. The fire alarms in the home began to sound at approximately 9:00 PM. My wife and I went through our home, we did not check the closed garage, we did not detect any smoke or smell. My wife stepped outside our front door and came back in telling me she could smell rubber burning. I followed her out and looked around the home. When I approached the garage black smoke began to roll out of the top of the door. I told my wife to call 911 and raced back into my home to the interior door leading to the garage.

Driving from my home in Pretty Prairie Ks, I got about a block or two from my house when my 2000 F150 Lariot starting chugging and miss firing really bad. I tried to give it a little more gas to see if it would getpast what ever the problem was. It then starting making really loud noises. I pulled over to take a look to see what the problem was. As soon as I stopped, I noticed smoke rolling out from under the hood. I told my family to get out of the truck and get away in case the gas tank were to blow up. Within 5 minutes the cab was completely consumed by flames.

My son asked me to contact you. Our garage burned down February 22nd and our 2001 Ford Taurus was in it. The pictures look very much like some that my son saw on a website that had caught fire.

My 1998 Ford Explorer caught on fire with no one around. I pulled the vehicle up to go see my sister. I went in the house to use the bathroom. By the time I got out, my Explorer was in flames. I was so upset, i had an anxiety attack and had to spend overnight in the hospital. The Manchester fire dept. said it was electrical that started in the dash. I aad my son-in-law popped the hood and the engine was not touched. The interior is completly gone. I had the vehicle not even 2 weeks and the insurance company said it might take 2 weeks to settle.

My F150 Lariat burnt to a crisp Saturday night 6/25/05. The Fire Marshal informed me of the recall for the Ford F150. I had no idea this could happen. I called Ford on Monday to be told they would forward the information to consumer affairs and they would call me back. Today, Ford called and informed me they had sent a recall notice in January and another in May of this year, niether of which I received.

On June 16 around 9:30 am I was getting ready for work when a gentleman knocked on my door stating that my 1997 Ford F-150 was on fire 4 feet from my house.I had taken my stepson to work about 6:30am and then parked the truck ,where I always park it ,next to my home. THe truck was engulfed totally in flames when I went outside.

We owned a 1986 F-150 Ford Lariat pickup, extended cab. It caught fire in our driveway on October 17, 1996. The ignition switch had melted inside the steering column and we had no way of knowing, and it burst into flames and burned to the ground. Just prior to it burning, our children were in that truck and would have been when it caught fire, were it not for a last-minute decision to leave them with a sitter.

While I was sitting in my home, I heard an explosion outside. So I went outside to see what the noise was and to my surprise my 1998 ford f150 was on fire, The truck had not been driven for 2 days.

On Feb. 9, 2005 we purchased a 1994 Ford Explorer XLT 4x4 from an independent dealer in Chattanooga, Tennessee. We made minor repairs to the air conditioner, brakes, interior etc. On June 8, 2005 we were on a short vacation in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. As we were driving down a one lane, one way road, it felt like the transmission slipped. My husband pulled over and as soon as he came to a stop the entire interior of the Explorer filled with smoke.

A friend drove by and noticed my 2004 Ford F350 Diesel engine on fire while parked in the driveway. He alerted me and I opened the hood and put out the fire with a fire extinguisher. All the plastic was burned and the smoke smell clearly shows an electrical flaw startet the fire. The batteries had to be disconnected to stop the fire from reigniting again. The oil filter cap burned off and the oil fed the fire. The fuel filter cap almost burned through, luckily the fire was put out before that. Will warranty fix this mess?

My 1998 Ford Explorer burst into flames just sitting in the parking lot of -- all places -- the Fire station I volunteer at. It was just sitting their for about 20 min. and a lady started banging on the door saying we had a car fire outside. It was my truck. I was devastated. I was thankful that I was there and that my children were not with me as they were about an hour before.

My 97 Suburban which was parked next to a Ford truck on the job that caught on fire was damaged. The owner of the vehicle's insurance company, Farmers Insurance, declined my claim to pay for the damage on the truck because they state the facts clearly show the the cause of the damage was not negligence on the insured. (the fire was caused by a mechanical issue that Ford Manufacturers would be responsible for based on the recent recalls in the ford model trucks) It seems that I should not be the one paying for something was not my fault as well.

I have a Ford F150 that caught fire. I contacted Ford and they said they would do nothing until i got an attorney to write them a letter. I am still making payments on a truck I cannot drive.

I own a 1997 Ford F150 xlt 4x4. I hadn't driven it for over 24 hours, was in the front yard mowing the lawn when we noticed smoke billowing out of the engine compartment. I immediately opened the hood and noitced the smoke was coming from a sensor on the master brake unit. The sensor was completely melted and smoking.

My 1997 Ford F-150 pickup cruise control quit working and then a couple of weeks later it caught on fire. The Ford dealers I have called say that the recall does not apply to 1997 models but only to 2000 models.

My husband was blinded by the driver airbag on a 1993 FORD Crown Vic in September 2002. It was a low-impact single car accident with a BEV of 8 MPH when he went into a ditch to avoid a suddenly stopped car in front of him. Ford has had many cases since then, but will still not recall these cars for 1992-1996, which include the Grand Marquis. FORD LOST a case in 2000 (Hoffman vs. Ford) and according to Automotive News: FORD was aware of airbag complaints that had been made by consumers, but FORD says they did nothing because no one ever filed a lawsuit. Since they lost the Hoffman case, FORD still has not recalled the cars for the defective airbags. During a $1 Billion cost saving by FORD, they changed the airbag sensors from 5 to 3 sensors. This saved FORD $18-$25 per car. This cost saving is costing people their lives or they are being blinded when the airbag doesn't go off when it should. The 1993 FORD Crown Vic's airbag is released into your face at 220 MPH.

My 2000 Ford Expedition went on fire after being parked for several hours. The truck was totalled. The insurance company paid the book value and i was left with a $2000.00 balance. My vehicle was later investigated by insurance company and it was found to be that the recent recall was the cause of fire. I have that in writing.

My 1997 Eddie Bauer Explorer caught on fire. The arson investigator determined it was an electrical fire but he couldnt pinpoint excatly what caused it. I had only owned the car for 5 months and I did not have the cars electrical system worked on or modified in anyway in fact the only thing that I had done to the car was an alignment.

I purchased a new Ford Explorer in 2003. While on vacation in Nashville TN this month April 2005, I dropped my wife off at the mall and went to get gas and some cash. Because of a large truck at the pumps I pulled over and parked at the edge of the parking lot to go in and get cash from the ATM and then came out to get gas. When I opened my door black smoke began to rush out of my dash.

It was a blessing in disguise. After an arson investigation, it was determined to be an electrical fire of some sort. Ford would not take any responsibility and now 6 months later the continuous stories of Ford vehicles catching fire and recalls of vehicles with the same mechanics is very suspicious.

My 1997 Ford F 150 pick up had just had the cruise control fixed. The cruise quit working last fall and I decided to go through the winter before having it fixed. After I got the vehicle back from repair, I parked it back in the garage where it is always kept. The next morning, about 12 hours after the repair, I washed and waxed the truck and then moved it out to the street so that we could come and go with our other three cars. The truck had been drive the length of three houses and parked for 45 minutes when it started on fire. It was not running at the time and was not even warmed up from the 3 house drive 45 minutes earlier. The truck was a total loss.

My 1998 Ford Expedition XLT caught fire 3/3/05. At the time I was going to bed, if anything had happened at all different, my family and I might not be here to talk about this today. I arrived at home and parked vehicle in garage ~5:15pm. My wife walked on the treadmill (which is in the garage) from 7:15 – 7:45pm and did not smell or notice anything unusual. At 10:00 pm I looked through garage door to make sure lights were out and garage doors shut. I noticed a small red light below the truck. After further investigation, I found it was a flame.

Vehicle caught fire (prior to the recall by one week, and ford denied responsibility) in parking lot, is totalled. Ford unwilling to expedite the matter, requesting arson/fire investigator to determine cause. (do not have the ($1200 to pay for this). Vehicle is at selling dealer, and service manager has confirmed source of fire compatible with recall.

I was in the house working on the computer. My dog was outside, barking nonstop. When I looked out the window, I could see flames coming out of the hood of my 2000 Ford F150. By the time the fire department got to my house, my truck was completely destroyed along with all my construction tools that were inside it. It managed to burned up part of my lawn, my tree and all of my neighbor's front lawn.

My son parked my f150 in my driveway after putting on front brakes for me. I was awoke at 8:00 pm alerting me about my truck was on fire. The truck had been parked for about an hour or more. Luckily a neighbor saw this and told me. The neighbor's husband is a fireman and he came down with a fire extingisher but it couldn't put it out so we hooked up the water hose and put it out but it was already totaled. We were lucky cause the fire if not cantained would have caught the house on fire.

On December 4, 2004, I took my 1997 F-250 truck on about a 600 mile trip. During the trip I tried the cruise control, which worked about 5 months earlier & found it to be nonfunctional. The next day I found myself in a position that required engaging the four-wheel drive, however it would not engage. I parked the truck that evening & had not touched it in the following month and a half.

Then on Jan. 26, 2005 at 05:00am, my wife woke me up saying that my truck had just exploded. I went outside and saw the fire in the engine compartment. At that time the main concentration of the fire was on the drivers side. I notified Ford, to which their reply was sorry for your inconvenience but there are no recalls on your vehicle and it is also out of warranty. The truck is a total loss and damage was done to my property.

I was in an accident 1 week ago and my airbags didn't deploy. I was hit in the side by a vehicle. I do not know exactly how fast they were going. But they were going fast enough to flip my truck over on its side and spin it around where their car collided again with mine head on while my truck was up on its side. I had just picked my cat up from having surgery. I had it in a very large pet carrier in the passenger seat. I suffered from pain all over. Even though I had my seat belt on, I still got thrown around (that is understandable, I guess). It was God that I was not seriously injured. But it makes me feel like I need to address this issue because what if I really needed the airbag to deploy for my safety, or if I had another person with me. Any advice?

March 2004, came outside to see fire deptartment at my barn. Fully engulfed in flames. Had 2002 f-350 in there. Fire was so bad unable to detect cause. Total loss about $200,000.00 Truck was suspect. Lost everything, even a lot of household stuff that was stored in the building.

The truck was totaled. The only damage to the fire station was melted spray foam on the inside of the bay doors. Thank God!

A fire declared to my vehicle (F-250 2003 Diesel engine 6 liters) in November, 26, 2004. My truck was completely destroyed besides having caused at the same time damages in my property. I would like knowing if the other cases as I are known this day. One of my friends informed me that further to a bulletin, 62 cases of fire were listed with Ford. Saddened for my spelling mistakes. My truck was completely destroyed, and also having caused damages to my property for approximately $45,000.

I have read several responses that Ford told them the impact was not enough. What the hell do you need to hit ... a train? I'm not sure it would be any harder.

On October 30, 2004 my 2002 Crown Victoria caught fire and burned itself, my husband's truck (parked behind it) and our home to the ground.

My 1996 Ford Bronco caught fire as it was parked in front of my house. A neighbor called me at 2:24 AM to inform me that my truck was on fire. It had been parked for approximately 18 hours. The fire started in the engine compartment and appeared to have started on the driver side since the left side seemed to have endured the most intense heat.

I have a 1998 ford expedition. I have not 1, but 3 broken seat belts! The guts of the locking mechanism actually fell out while my 7 year old was buckled in! I called ford because the dealership wants $500.00 to fix the 3 seat belts and i don't think i should have to pay for something that should last for the life of the vehicle, especially since my truck has only 61,000 miles on it. I bought the expedition because it is promoted as this extremely safe family suv and the seatbelts don't work!!! if the ford company considers this normal wear and tear for a vehicle then obviously i bought from the wrong company. They don't stand behind their vehicles.

When the fire department helped me push the truck pot of the way there was a pile of melted rubber on the driveway. The fire came from under the hood on the drivers side but I am at a loss as to how this could happen to a vehicle that was parked and turned off.

I recently purchased a 1998 Ford Explorer Sport. I looked at one other before making my choice and they both had a similar malady, the driver's side seat back release / adjustment lever was broken off. I priced having a dealer replace it and the cost exceeded $160. I opted to purchase the part and replace it myself, only to find that within a week of normal driving, and not even using the lever except to set the adjustment after installation, the lever is bent 90degrees and only operational if I bend it back to its original shape. It's clear now why these things break, a few bends back to operating position and they will snap. When I called Ford's Consumer Service department they made it sound as though I was the only person to ever have complained about this problem. I can easily see why, at $160 plus to replace this part each time it breaks, and with no resolution in sight, they must be making millions on this!

First of all myself and my husband bought a 2002 Ford Explorer in July 2002 in St. Louis Missouri, at McMahon Ford. The middle seat for the past 6mos or so have been folding forward, even while my small 6 yr old daugher is sitting in it. this causes her to be forced forward and sometimes even bump her head on the driver's seat. I called a customer service Rep., and was advised to take it to a dealership for problems, but that I would be responsible for any diagnostic testing on the vehicle. I asked the person why would I have to pay for this, she said that it was my child and my resposibility to take care of the the matter, since they so far don't have any recalls on my vehicle and wished me luck. I was appalled at this answer. What can I do, I want my car checked out & problem fixed, but don't feel I should have to pay to see if it is a factory defect???

I was sitting in line at a toll booth with my foot on the brake. The airbags deployed prematurely; the impact caused me to hit the car in front of me. Because we were not moving when the airbags deployed, the car in front of me had no damage and there was no damage to the front end of my car. The airbags blew the windshield out completely. As a result of this, I sustained 2nd degree burns to my right hand, slight case of whiplash and stiffness in my neck and back. I was wearing my seatbelt, but I do not have a seatbelt bruise across my chest because there was no speed involved in this incident. I have a fear of driving my car once it's repaired. I did nothing to cause the airbags to deploy, so who's to say that it won't happen to me again.

On January 19, 2004, I was leaving Monterey Country Club in Palm Desert, California. I was driving my 2000 Mercury Cougar approximately 5 to 10 miles when I went over a speed bump. After going over the speed bump, my passenger and I heard a loud noise. I pulled over to the side of the road at which time we realized that the side air bag on the passenger side had deployed.

My 1999 Ford F350 caught fire just after I got home from work, causing it to be totaled. I own my own construction business and this is the truck I work out of everyday. I feel like Ford owes me a truck.

On December 5,2003, my brother was friving my 1997 Fodr Explorer Sport, while driving down the road the vehicles brakes locked up (ABS False Activation) the vehicle bagan flipping and the seat belt broke and he was thrown out of a window. When he woke up in the middle of the road he looked back at the vehicle and it was ingolfed in flames. I then contacted Fords Consumer Affair Dept. and filed a claim. 1 week later Fords insurance company came out and took pictures of the vehicle along with another explorer that was burnt up beside mine. Everytime I called they told me I would have a return call back in 2 days , well that went on for a month. After keeping explicit notes I finally after a month recieved my first phone call, it was from the legal dept, Cassandra Jones/McBride, she had told me that she had mailed out 2 letter 3 weeks previously. I then told her that I never recieved them so she faxed one the next day.I Fed Ex'ed her all the material that she had needed for my claim, it was signed for the next day by a Tony Smith and that was 16 January 2004. It is now April and i have called and faxed letters just wanting to find out where my case stands and I have heard nothing from anyone, no letter, no phone call, no nothing. I call the consumer reps and they tell me day after day that someone from the legal Dept. will call me in 2 days but it has been 4 months now and I can't even seem to find where my case stands at this point.

Driving my 97 F150, I broadsided a car that spun out on the highway. The other car was almost stopped and I was slowed down to no less than 50mph. Neither airbag deployed. Truck was totaled. The front bumper was pushed all the way back to the radiator across the whole front. Just the frame was sticking out the front.

We suffered from minor injuries; whiplash, head and neck strain etc. My husband chose this vehicle when the twins were born based on its safety standards and high ratings. In this particular case I'm not sure any of our injuries would have been less severe had the airbags deployed, but my concern is now, what if...what if we really needed them to save our lives.

I own a 1997 Ford Mercury Tracer. Presently it is in storage because the airbags deployed while I was driving. Because of the medical damages involved Ford refuses to do anything about it unless I sign a medical waiver. I lost the use of my car because it was completely undriveable and I had to purchase a different car. I had a sprained and burned left hand along with loss of hearing.

I was the owner of a 1996 Ford Bronco which I purchased new. Since I only drive 4 miles a day to and from work it had only 39,000 miles on it. To compensate for all the stop & go driving I had the oil changed every 1500 to 2000 miles.

My parents died in a fire caused by a Ford 10 years ago. The point of origin was traced by the Fire Marshall's office to the engine in the car. This product flaw is acknowledged to the dealers in what is known as a "silent recall." The consumer is never given this information, only the dealer. Why is this allowed? Silent recalls should be banned. Editors Note: These are actually called "secret warranties").

My 15-year-old daughter and I suffered some back and neck pain. I suffered some leg, arm and hand pain. No hospital time has been called for yet, but doctor visits and x-rays have taken up some of our time.

We were on vacation in Hawaii on 9/4/01 when a vehicle pulled into our lane. In order to avoid a head-on collision I went off the road and hit a mountain head-on at high speed. We were driving a rented 2000 Ford Taurus. Neither airbag deployed. My wife's back was broken and she is in constant pain. Doctors say that surgery is not advised because of the high possibility of paralysis. She is unable to perform her normal daily functions, including her job. So far we have been unable to find an attorney who will take on Ford.

My wife was in an accident, she hit another car in the rear end doing 35 to 40 mph. Her seatbelt didn't lock till she was 3 inches from the windshield nor did the airbag deploy. There was almost $6,000 in damage and the airbag on the passenger side did deploy. My wife saw her doctor after the accident, he said she had a brused sternum and her back would be sore for awhile. It's a month later and she is still having back pains.

Neither of my two airbags deployed. Although the accident did not cause any injuries, my concern is that if I could have been helped by the airbags, they would have not deployed. I was only traveling approximately 35-45 mph when the accident occured but feel that the impact was great enough for the airbags to have been deployed.

I'm all screwed up about this. I'm in physical therapy, out of work and I just can't find anyone who is not afraid of Ford.

My daughter hit a vehicle stopped in the lane of traffic. Her 2001 Ford Escape rolled 2 times landing on the roof. The air bags did not deploy. Major impact was to the driver side. Vehicle was totaled. Daughter is afraid to drive, afraid that all SUV's will rollover. Gratefully she only suffered concussion, whiplash and bruises.

Ford wants me to pay for them to check out my car to see what went wrong.

So far he only has minor injuries, although we are conserened he has some internal bleeding that would be caused from hitting the steering wheel upon initial impact, which would have been prevented if the air bag would have been deployed.

The front driver's side is gone! I luckily walked out of the accident a little shaken up but the impact was so hard and violent I can't imagine what would have happened if I really would have needed more than a seatbelt!

My husband and I bought a brand new 1999 F250 Super Duty from Cape Fear Ford. In May of 1999 we began to have problems with the brakes and the suspension on the truck. The brakes would vibrate when applied and the suspension would squeak hitting even the smallest bumps in the road. We took the truck to the dealer and they attempted to fix the problem, four times later and the warranty has ran out the problem is still not fixed. To make matters worse the courtsey light comes on and stays on when you hit the brakes and the door ajar light never goes off.

In September 2000 my girl friend was involved in a vehicle accident on Tropicana Ave. in Las Vegas. The damage to the front end of this car was about $5,000. It was a dead-on front hit and the air bags did not deploy. After finally getting the car fixed and towed in to get the brake recall done on the car. My girlfriend and father went in to pick up the car. The auto body shop had been amazed by the fact that the air bags had not deployed and said that I should have the sensor checked by Ford.

Faulty air bags deployed at a low speed accident under 20 mph. Caused my windshield to smash and $4,000 of damage. All of this damage was caused by the airbags, there was no body damage on the car because it was a low-speed fender bender.

I have been having all kinds of problem with my 95 Ford Windstar after 50,000 miles.First the recall on the hood latch...it was fixed by Ford. Then my a/c went out...I paid $900 to get it fixed. Then the head gasket...I paid $944 to get it fixed. Then the recall on the fuel tank...Ford fixed it. Now my transmission is slipping. I have a friend who also brought a 95 Windstar because she liked mine so much. Her transmission slipped also... and her head gasket blew. Did we get stuck with lemons? I had to take out two loans totalling over $1800 and rent a car at $100 to get vehicle fixed.

In August 1997 I purchased a new 1998 Ford Windstar Mini-Van from Ford Groves in Cape Girardeau, Missouri for approximately $23000. I experienced problems within a short period of time. Lots of different problems, but the most distressing were apparent problems with the transmission. Slipping and sluggishness in the transmission were reported numerous times to dealerships. I was told numerous times there was nothing seriously wrong with the transmission and that these "quirks" were typical of the Windstar transmission. Two weeks ago, with 58000 miles the transmission failed completely. I was shocked and stunned and received absolutely zero assistance from my dealership. I was given the runaround by their service manager and by Ford Customer Assistance Center. I am disabled and on a fixed income. I use this vehicle for medical and physical therapy appointments. This van has been well maintained and never driven at excessive speeds. I am in an extremely difficult situation. I have no funds in reserve and the reality of paying $23000 for a vehicle which only lasted 58000 miles is distressing beyond words. I am so upset and everytime I try to talk to the people at Ford, I get more and more upset. I use the van to transport a wheelchair and any other assistive devices I may use. I am now forced to rely on friends and family for transportation and this is proving very, very inconvenient and difficult as most of them work. I cannot afford to travel by taxi or bus, and in any event they are not available for the medical appointments I need. I am absolutely sick about this and simply do not know what to do.

I own a l995 Ford Windstar. Like so many other in the class action suit against Ford, my head gaskets went at the end of November l999. At that time, I had 81,000 miles on the van. This resulted in an approximate bill of $1,000, none of which was covered by Ford. On January 1, 2000 the transmission began to slip. After several attempts by the dealership to correct the problem, it was decided I needed a new transmission. The van is currently in the shop waiting for a new transmission from Ford. The anticipated bill for this repair is approximately $3,000. Along with the transmission replacement, the van will need to have the A/C reset and will need to be realigned along with whatever else it needs in conjunction with transmission replacement. The repairs should be complete by the end of the month.

There's no way I can trade it in without fixing it. My only option is to repair and then get rid of it. A costly venture.

Automatic transmission went out in our 1995 Ford Windstar which has been very common just like the head gaskets and I would like someone to report it to any department that can help us to get a recall started so we can get our money back for this defect also. I have a 1996 Mercury Sable with about 45,000 miles on it. With no warning, the transmission just went and has to be replaced. The mechanic said he has had to fix these transmissions at a rate unequal in ratio to the number of them on the road. He said that 75% of these transmissions are going before they reach 60,000 miles.It will cost $2,000 to repair. I am a single, disabled mother with a son in college. I invested all I had in what I thought was a reliable car.
