CoverageX provides vehicle service contracts and home warranty plans to protect against the cost of unexpected repairs. CoverageX plans

CoverageX sells four vehicle warranty plans to cover a range of items:

  • Essential: For budget-conscious owners, the Essential plan covers the core (and sometimes most expensive) components at the lowest price.
  • Signature: Balanced coverage that adds more systems and components beyond powertrain, but excluding the suspension and steering. It’s a middle‑tier option that blends cost and protection.
  • Premium: More extensive named‑component coverage that approaches factory‑style protection on many major mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Executive: A high-coverage option designed for newer vehicles needing near‑comprehensive protection.

The included 24/7 roadside assistance covers free towing, lockout assistance and fuel delivery, with rental car benefits available for covered repairs.

How much does CoverageX cost?

CoverageX doesn't publish standard plan prices or deductibles. Exact costs and deductibles depend on your vehicle, coverage tier and contract, so you’ll need a personalized quote.

CoverageX may offer discounts (for example, for first responders or teachers), but it doesn’t list any specific discounts on its site as of this publication. When you request your free, no-obligation quote, you can ask about any current promotions or discounts you may be eligible for.

CoverageX claims

CoverageX's auto warranty plans generally include a waiting period before full coverage starts. A sample vehicle service agreement we reviewed has an auto waiting period of 30 days and 1,000 miles from the starting odometer reading. After coverage starts, you can file a claim at any time.

The basic process for filing a claim starts with finding an ASE-certified mechanic. The mechanic will reach out to CoverageX directly to start the authorization process and to handle payment for covered repairs, so you pay only your deductible and any non-covered costs.

CoverageX exclusions

Each CoverageX auto plan has its own detailed list of exclusions. For example, the following are excluded from the Essential plan:

  • Any issues still covered by the manufacturer’s warranty or recall campaigns
  • Damage from lack of regular maintenance
  • Damage related to collisions, theft, vandalism or “acts of God” (for example, floods or earthquakes)
  • Damage caused by misuse or abuse (negligence, modification, tampering, etc.)
  • Towing or pulling damage when the vehicle wasn’t properly equipped for the purpose
  • Preexisting conditions, or failures that began before your coverage start date
  • Storage costs, diagnostic fees, shop supplies, lodging, food, sales tax and other additional surcharges
  • Any claims received more than 60 days after authorization

What is CoverageX

CoverageX is a warranty provider that sells auto and home warranty plans to help cover repair costs when covered components break down under normal use. It’s based in Costa Mesa, California.

How does CoverageX work?

Once you sign up for a warranty and coverage begins (after the waiting period), CoverageX’s plans help cover the cost of repairs or replacements on covered items. CoverageX pays a portion or all of the approved repair costs for covered claims directly to the mechanic, minus your deductible.

Does CoverageX have a waiting period?

Yes, all plans have a waiting period. This waiting period is often 30 days after signing the contract, plus 1,000 miles from the starting odometer reading.  You can confirm the exact waiting period for your plan in your contract or during the quote process.

What is CoverageX’s cancellation policy?

You can cancel your policy at any point within 30 days for a full refund, according to a sample contract. If you cancel after 30 days, you’ll receive a prorated refund, minus the $75 cancellation fee.

Is CoverageX legit?

    I am only 20 years old and I am new to car warranties, I have been having a hard time finding what’s the right fit for me. Until I found coverage X. Customer service I had no problems with that. Nicole ** and Micheal ** amazing at their jobs. Kind and respectful. Listens to their customers and explains how their warranty and coverage work! They answered all my questions and made sure I understood everything. These two people are the kind of people you need in customer service. I’m looking forward to staying with coverage X for as long as I can.

      I was speaking with Nicole from customer service, and she was very pleasant to speak with. She helped me. I called three times, and she never questioned my calling, but was able to answer any questions that I had and get me over to the right person. I really appreciate her customer service.

      So Impressed with the employees and the process of this extended warranty co. Not only was it a very easy claim auth process with no nickel & diming to hurt the shop, It was simple, easy, fast and not only did Nathaniel, Robert, & Kimberly do an amazing Job following up on all promises, they also provided coverage as a goodwill to a customer- They went above & beyond contractual agreements.       Working with warranty companies can be very frustrating and exhausting. That is not the experience I had with CoverageX. Mike opened and processed the claim and walked me through the process!
