My son bought a car from Car-Mart several years ago. He paid way too much for a vehicle without any advice, which was his first mistake. Over the time, he has paid $9,000 on the car, which was $10,000 with financing. He was coming out of a rough situation and they worked with him when he was late, and were fully aware of his difficulties and how hard he was working to pay the car, and they were cooperative and helpful. Now that he is down to owing $1,400 on the car and is late again, they decided to take it back and won't give it back to him unless he pays the full $1,400.00. People, this is the oldest trick in the book. Used car salesmen are notorious for this. Get almost the full amount owed on the car and then take it back. They resell it and get another bundle on it.

I am so disgusted with them. Such a dishonorable and unethical practice. They are sadly within their rights contractually-speaking, but it is a shameful practice nonetheless. I would never buy a car from them again and would not advise anyone else to do business with such an unethical business. He lost all of the money he paid for the car and they will gain another sale on it. Not right any way you slice it.

We went to Car-Mart thinking that it would be cheaper in the long run. Our first go around, I had picked out a 2003 Trailblazer. The second day we had i5, we drove it 20 miles away and back. We had filled up the tank before. We were on empty by the time we got back. Plus it started making horrific noises. I did not feel like my kids were safe in that vehicle. We took it back. Since they won't void the transaction, you're forced to choose another over priced vehicle. I ended up picking out a 2003 Mazda Tribute. They said it was cheap. NOPE! $14000.

Within a week, it broke down on us as we were driving. We had to pay them $50 for them to "fix" it. A week later, we got it back and it runs like crap. It stalls at stop lights and sounds like it's going to break down any minute. It has broken down two more times since that. I admit that I was a sucker for,"Oh, it's only so much a week! That's great!" That's great until I realized that my 2012 Charger payment is only $90 more a month than the Mazda hunk of junk. We are having issues due to loss of income and they won't work with you. We only owe $660 on the Mazda. I was actually on my way to talk to them today and my tire blew out. They ended up going to my mother's house to talk to me. Why not freakin call me back when I call and leave a message. After this thing is paid off, I will never deal with Car-Mart again. Faulty, overpriced cars.

COLUMBUS, MS - I talked to several different rude customer service people besides one. After that I was told I was a delinquent, in the situation. And to top it off the manager Matt called me stupid and because of me responding back to him I couldn't receive my truck back unless I made full payment on it. Crazy right? Just do me a favor and NEVER BUY A CAR FROM HERE!!!

I am extremely dissatisfied and DISGUSTED at the way I've been treated since becoming a customer recently in May of 2015. I went to Car-mart in Madison TN to get information on financing a car for the first time. I was so impressed by the way Mike made the company sound that I decided to lease there. My 1st incident was a mistake on my part. I forgot the payment date. I called Mike to see what to do, April came to the phone instead. I felt she was rude so I insisted Mike. I explained to him that I would be out of town the next day which was a Saturday and he told me I could pay Monday. So to my surprise he calls the next day (Saturday) telling me he's towing the car, that April had taken pictures of me at work on Friday night and that I'm a liar and hung up in my face. I came in when I got back and paid my note and expressed my displeasure to David **.

So to my more disturbing incident which occurred TODAY (Aug 4) I came in Friday July 31 to pay my past due amount of $478. I explained to Dawn and David that I got so far behind because my sister died in June and I had to pay for her funeral. I ended up losing my job because I wasn't up to work due to depression. Car-mart had reposed my car in July. I found a new job and took the money I got paid on Friday and paid April to get my car back. My next note was due the following day and I expressed that I was in my second week of work and I would be getting paid the Friday coming up on the 7th and would then be able to pay my note of 225. I called April on Monday Aug 3rd because I found out that day at work that our payroll won't be submitted in time so I could pay the full balance on Aug 14 because that's the day I would be paid. She told me to come in the next day and make an arrangement.

Today is that day. I went to meet with Dawn to discuss my situation and she said she could give me until the Saturday coming up and I agreed that I would try and if not bring the car. The computers weren't working because AT&T was out of service so she went to grab David ** and we went to her office. He told me that because I didn't call on the due date which was 2 days prior to the day I came in that I had to pay it by Wednesday. I was extremely frustrated at that point and I tried to explain that I called the day I found out. I was in tears trying to explain what I had been through in the last month losing my sister and that I did what they asked me to do. They tell you that you can call and let them know of an emergency involving family and loss of job.

I had both and I was treated so unkindly today. I'm clearly not trying to run off. I was expecting them to do what they told me they would but instead when I tell David that I will be speaking to corporate about the insensitivity I had experienced, he told me "** it, give me the car now then" and followed me outside as I explained what was going on to my friend. She asked a family member of hers to pay it for me and I'll pay them when I get paid. I really regret even financing with you because I've been treated like a piece of ** since I signed the agreement. I am happy with the car but at this point it's not even worth being connected to these people any longer.

They are so disrespectful in their approach and I wouldn't recommend anyone financing with you. Don't pretend to care about your customers if when the real life problems occur and you see someone trying and hurting you kick them instead of lift them up. April, Mike, and David are so extremely rude that I really regret ever stepping foot on that lot. While still mourning the loss of my baby sister, I left Car-mart today with the feeling of extreme sorrow and I'll never forget how David and April treated me.

We are retired and we live on a monthly budget... Wells Fargo pays us once a month. On the 3rd... our car was in the shop and the bill was going to be $900. My mother paid this in full and now we just pay her monthly (bless her heart). Thank goodness we didn't trade in our car... we picked out a Trailblazer. On our signed bill of sale the price is $9499. We paid $300 down plus the 2 box fans. When we went in to make our first payment of $400, we told them that we didn't know about the $700 sales tax that must be paid at the DMV. We asked if they could extend our temporary paper tags for another month, they said "absolutely NOT". We are from Louisiana and this sales tax law is unknown to us. Our car was a gift from parents and cost only $3000 so we were happy to know we didn't have to pay out our ** on tags. JUST $7 BUCKS IF YOU'RE A VETERAN.

SO BACK to this Car-Mart RIPOFF SCAM... when we paid the $400, I didn't look at the receipt until we were home. ONLY $257 was applied to the balance and the balance ballooned up to $10,467... even after the $300 downpayment??? So I dig out all the paperwork we signed, every sheet that had these outrageous hidden figures up to $13,050. NONE OF THESE PAPERS HAD OUR SIGNATURE. Our downpayment plus our first payment didn't even make a 'DENT' in the balance. That's when I knew it was a SCAM... they charged us a late fee. I found the paper stating our due date was on the 4th like we requested. It even shows where they ADDED our downpayment instead of SUBTRACTING. WE drove the Trailblazer onto the lot and put the key in an envelope down the drop-off box and said GOODBYE SUCKERS!!! THEY CALLED US ONCE AND never again... NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL A DISHONEST COMPANY.

I have finally played off the vehicle I purchased through Car-Mart. After paying double of what the car is worth and making every double payment I could. They tell me "we have lost your title, key and remote for your car", "..it could take up to 3 months to get you a title and we are not going to replace the key or the remote." Why I asked. "We had the extra key as a courtesy. We paid for it and do not have to give it to you." Really Car-Mart? Really! So I call corporate thinking surely they will do something about this... Well after several calls and can only leave a message.

No one has bothered to call me back. Sounds like they don't care about the customer at all.. All they want is double the money for a car. I failed to mention that my vehicle's motor is going to have to be replace 4 months prior to the pay off (motor cost $2700). Car's retail value if everything was working $2500. All said and done. I have paid $13000 for a car that does not run and cannot even sale for scrap because I don't have a title. Think very seriously before buy a vehicle through Car-Mart.

I'm a 27 year old, step parent of two toddlers with one of my own on the way. I recently purchased a 2003 Jeep Liberty from Car-Mart and I would love for everyone to hear my story. Not only is my vehicle costing me 14,000$ it came with a 5 month 5500 mile warranty that is apparently useless. I sent my jeep in for repairs right after I got it. Car-Mart calls me a few days later told me my vehicle was ready so I drive 1.5 hrs to Hot Springs Arkansas to go get it.

When I get there they have a whole list of problems they supposedly fixed except for the frontend I had originally sent it in to have them fix. Mind you this is not a small problem. This problem could snap off and kill me and my children at anytime. So I talk to the manager. He says there nothing he could do but send me to talk to the mechanic. So I talked this mechanic show him exactly what the problem is. His reply "Wow, that's interesting… I didn't know anything about it." He also tells me my vehicle will be ready the next day.

When the next day comes around I still haven't heard anything back so I call the mechanic only to find out not ready but promises it will be ready the next day. I keep getting the same bs runaround for 3 or 4 more days before I hear back from Car-Mart but eventually tell me it's ready. I drive back to Hot Springs. Mind you this is a 1.5 hr drive only to find out they sent my vehicle for new tires. Well I'm thinking that's nice of them. Go down to the tire shop only to find out they're not expecting me but after sitting there for 2 hrs with two screaming toddlers they eventually release my vehicle to me.

When I get the jeep not only have they still not repaired my axle the damn thing won't start until about the 5th time I cranked the key. If you give it too much gas it will sputter out and die. That's not even the best part. Now I even have a carrier bearing gone out causing the vehicle to shake like an earthquake. I call Car-Mart to complain. They tell me the manager is busy but will return my call. Never hear anything back. So now I'm stuck with a 14,000$ vehicle I can't drive and have no choice but to keep paying for or destroy my credit… That's **!!! ** you Car-Mart. You will be hearing from my lawyer!!! Check credit with other dealers - only thing I have is my house that I just purchased two months ago. What's going on with Car-Mart? I'm buying a vehicle that won't establish or give me credit to get another.

I have horrible credit but good income. Regretfully the income is eaten alive with debt. You know... the kinda guy no sane person wants to be near. Just got a job requiring me to immediately move across the state. Simultaneously, my car (with a title loan on it) broke down such that cost of repairs coupled with title loan made spending another penny on it a very, very bad idea.

So, I'm in this dilemma. It's Saturday & I have a great paying job beginning Monday - literally two days away. But I can't get there because I realistically don't have a car. Even if I have the cash ($1K or more) to get present car fixed, and I don't, there's no time to get it fixed. I just, plain, need to get another car. So: I go to every fly-by-night buy here/pay here lot in town. Nobody will even talk with me because 1) I'm between jobs, 2) they're not going to risk a deal with someone moving 300 miles away. Flight risk & cost of possible need to repossess are too great. "Sorry man, I hate hearing your situation but just can't help you."

I go dragging into CAR-MART, knowing I'm worthless. All the dealers selling lemon cars of the type about which people on this forum complain - the real snaky dealers that would rob their grandparents. Well, even THEY won't talk to me. I walk into Car-Mart lower than dirt, scarcely holding back tears. I lead with, "I have no credit, no car, and I'm moving 300 miles away tomorrow (Sunday). I don't expect it, but might you consider even talking?"

Long story a little less long: The people at Car-Mart talked with me. Actually, they even listened. Next, when I was at my lowest, they built me up and made me feel like a salvageable man. They actually cared! Beyond belief, a miracle happened. Late on a Saturday afternoon, and it's closing time everywhere, these people dealt with a guy whose risk on paper made me an impossible risk. I now have a very COOL car that I can afford, and can move on to a new life and start over. In the very worst case scenario, this Car-Mart car ends up being a lemon. But the same is true for cars being sold by every snake in the used car business. The difference is, Car-Mart has given me a chance when nobody else. Even the sleaziest of the snakes would give me the time of day. Thank You God, for Car-Mart.

I purchased an SUV in Feb 2015 and have had nothing but problems with it. They were supposed to fix the passenger door handle and they never have. The second thing was the dash lights wouldn't work then the traction light keeps coming on and it was in the shop for a week and they didn't even fix it. Then the brakes went out and the driver door handle broke. Now it doesn't like to go into park. They have been somewhat helpful with me. I again have to take it to the shop. I have three kids, one that is disabled and I work a full time job. Both my older kids have appointments every week and I can't afford to be without a car. I hope this doesn't keep up cause I will never buy from them again... DON'T BUY FROM CAR-MART. THEY HAVE NOTHING BUT LEMONS... AND THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS.

And she got a smart mouth with me and told me we was done here and made me leave. I will not tell anybody to go there, why she is running the place. My husband and I have purchased seven vehicles from Car-Mart of Hot Springs. All have had major issues that needed repair. For the most part Car Mart was helpful until 2014. We were almost paid off with a $15K Dodge Ram, and the motor blew. We called Car-Mart and spoke to the General Manager, **. He had the truck towed to a shop to have another motor installed.

He was unable to find a motor and put us in an HHR which the motor blew three days later. He then put us in a small Ford truck that we did not like. There was no choice. Another $15k vehicle. Day 2, my husband told ** there were major front end problems. We purchased the parts to fix the issue, and ** had us take the truck to Albert Pike Tire in Hot Springs to be fixed. The same issue continued though, and our "3 Day Satisfaction Guarantee" was over. We were stuck. We asked multiple times for ** to put us into a different vehicle over the course of a year. We fixed the same issue multiple times on our dime. O'Reilly's has been supportive in helping us retain receipts and parts to fix the issue. Midas in Hot Springs also fixed the same issue. The wheel bearings will not stay in.

One night, we had a major wreck when the wheel bearings (yet again) fell out driving down the highway. Fortunately, there were no injuries, and we paid a hefty tow bill to be towed home, then bought parts yet again. ** continued to refuse a trade, saying we needed to pay it down at least 50% before he could do anything. We asked to speak to his manager and we received a call from his area manager, **. This was an absolute joke. I honestly feel a "buddy" of **'s made the call. No manager could possibly be that unprofessional. We asked for his boss, and was told that the VP and CEO do not "deal with customers." We have not been able to reach Hank Henderson despite multiple requests.

The wheel bearings went out yet again, and this time my husband sustained serious injuries. Multiple bones were broken/crushed in his hand. We had to pay for the repairs to the truck and my husband went through a corrective surgery to put a plate and screws in his hand to fix it. He will probably never be able to have full function of this hand again.

We went back to **'s office after surgery and demanded another vehicle. He finally traded us into another $15k vehicle. He told us the truck would be a $7k credit, but required us to pay a $400 down payment. We did, and later realized the newly purchased Kia Soul had been written up over $20k. Our signatures are electronically added to the documents, and we did not know this was the price until much later.

Car-Mart refuses to pay sales tax on this vehicle, and refuses to work with us in any way. My husband contacted the corporate office today and received a call back from the "area manager" **. This man laughed at my husband and said all the above is water under the bridge and there is nothing they can do for us. I just want a fair deal and expect Car-Mart to honor a few things: Kia Soul financed at $15,000 as promised. No extras. Medical bills paid that insurance does not cover on my husband's injuries. Sales Tax paid. ** removed from their positions. All vehicles we have purchased added positively to all three credit bureaus. We will honor our commitment, but feel others are being scammed. This story needs to be told. I will be the voice of reason. I am willing to speak to a personal injury attorney if that is the route I need to take.

I spent money to have it towed to them and after it was there and I picked out the SUV I wanted, I was told that the value of my car wasn't enough to cover a down payment for any car on the lot.

Husband and I got a car from here back in Dec. 14. It's a 2000 BMW 528i. Salesperson claimed it was used as a corporate car and went on and on about how great it was, etc. Fast forward 3 weeks, car would barely drive. It had some kind of exhaust problem, it seemed. Part of our warranty stated that in case of breakdown, the company would tow (their expense). Of course they denied it, until we showed them a copy of the paperwork. They kept my car one week for what turned out to be 6 spark plugs that weren't firing correctly and a sensor that needed replacing - an entire week without me having a vehicle for a simple fix. They are also horrible about hounding you when your payment is due. The payment plan they set up for us misses my husband's bi-weekly pay checks by 1-2 days, depending on the day of the week. One day after our payment is due, they start repeatedly calling and they've even come to our house 2 towns away.

Three times we have been up to the office to change the dates our payments are due. And yet, rather than honoring the new dates, they continue to hound my husband and "references." We always always pay our note, sometimes it's just a day or 2 late. If our car survives how long it takes to pay off, I will Never do business with these people again.

In May of 2014 I decided to get a new car that I would pay for on my own. I went to Car-Mart in Springfield Mo and test drove 3 cars. I liked the second one which was a Ford explorer with only 67,00 miles and brand new tires on it. But when I went to sign the papers on it suddenly they didn't have the title and couldn't sell it. So the salesman showed me a 2004 Dodge Durango that was "the manager's car he wanted to sell." I test drove it and it seemed like a good car. After signing the papers and putting $1500 down on it they went and got it inspected and it passed so I drove it home.

The next day I went to get tags and the sales tax was over $800 plus another $250 for the tags. Of course I paid it. About a month after I got it I was on my way to work when it started squeaking from underneath. The company assured me that it was fine and probably only needed some grease. So I drove to St. Louis Mo in July and on my way back the rear end started smoking and my father had the car towed to his friend's shop to get checked out and I called Car-Mart to inform them of what happened. They said that they would get the car and have it fixed. I got it two days later and it was fine for a week and started squeaking again.

I took it back and they kept the car for two more days before calling me saying it was fixed. I had it one day and took it back. I told them that it was still making the noises and they needed to fix it or give me a new car. They told me they would not give me a new car and said that I was lying about the sound and that the car was fine. So I lost my job in December and moved to St. Louis and I called to inform them that I was actively looking for a new job and I would be happy to make up the three missed payments from having no work. They agreed and worked with me until they found out when I got a job and suddenly there was an extra $500 added to the three payments out of nowhere for something I never agreed to.

I have since had a job and paid for the three payments along with paying my bi-weekly payments of $160. About two months ago my boyfriend's cousin was changing my oil and brake pads and found out that the emergency brake was completely disconnected and had been since I got the car and there was also water droplets on the oil filter from some type of head gasket problem. On Thursday May 14, 2015 around 4pm they came and repo'd my car while my boyfriend was supposed to be driving 20 miles away to pick me up from work.

When I called they told me it would be $3500 to get it back and I had 30 days to give a written notice that I was agreeing to pay to get it back or they would sell it at an auction and put that towards my bill. I just told them to keep the piece of crap. The workers have been rude since I handed them my money and the work quality was pathetic. There were problems with this car that could have cost me my life like having bald tires and bad brake pads but it's their problem now.

Before buying I ask them to fix a few things. They called two weeks later and said they were fixed. I bought the car. Had the car about two days and noticed that the car's engine was tapping which is what they were supposed to fix before buying and that the air didn't work. Also the oil light came on. They put it in the shop and told me that they were going to flush the engine and if that didn't work that they would replace the engine. After they had it for almost three weeks they called to say that they were going to just replace the oil pump.

When I got it back the same day noticed loud popping in front end. Front end was messed up. And when they fixed the air they just charged it but it had a leak and so my air still didn't work. So not even couple weeks later had to put in for front end to be fixed. During this whole time my car stalls the engine light and oil light comes on. If you drive it for an hour or two it overheats so call back for them to fix my car. Oh forgot to tell you that I am filling the oil every two days. So I call them back and they tell me that they will not put a new motor in and so I call customer service and they have the same unhelpful manager call me.

I call customer service multiple times and they said they would have someone else call me back but they never did. So I let the car sit in my driveway for about 2 months scared to drive it. Finally I call and tell them that I need to have it looked at for the overheating and the air. I take it in and they call me back and tell me that the air is fixed. I asked them have they checked the reason that it is overheating or the reason that it is losing oil. They said it has oil in it. They also said they hooked it up to a computer and it showed that none of the lights had come on.

Then she called back and said they were putting a thermostat in it. I told them unless they put a new engine in it like they originally promised I would not pick it up. I was not late on a payment. They told me they would not so I didn't pick it up and they put a repossession on my record. Did I also tell you I talking to the manager that all they did before buying was flush the engine. So why would they try to do it again. Now my credit is ruined because of them and they lost a good customer. That was not my first carmart car. It was my 3. The first 2 payed off free and clear and never had a problem.

They will flat out lie to your face and smile about it. They're not car salesman, they're parasites. Never go to CAR-MART. There are other, better and more affordable places to go. If I could give less than 1 star, I would.

Do not EVER get a car from this place. My daughter bought a car through them and had to trade it back in because it was a POS. She traded for another car and has driven it only 3 weeks. Car-mart had it in the shop, supposedly fixing it, for a month! She just got it back 2 days ago and it wouldn't start today. They towed it and claimed it was the starter. They fixed it in 2 hours. They had the car previously for a month. She was still making payments on it in spite of the fact that she hadn't driven it in a month. I called up there and went up there. They told my daughter I was not allowed up there because I disrespected the office manager. Not once did I cuss or call her out of her name. However, I'm a pissed off parent. These people prey on young kids who don't have credit and need no co-signer. They found out very quickly that they dealt with the wrong parent. I'm filing with the BBB and anyone else who will listen.

I have put a lot of money into it myself fixing what isn't covered, and a few weeks ago I lost my lights. After two weeks of the run around, they finally agreed to pay to get it fixed and now the mechanic said it can't be fixed, so here we go again. And on top of all that, the customer service I got when I went in was very poor. She got an attitude with me. I am seriously thinking of dropping it off and walking away. I got my first car that I bought with my hard earned money by myself at Car-Mart. I had a little Pontiac that my father helped me buy in 2012. So this was a huge deal for me. My father is in a wheelchair and couldn't go with me to inspect the car. A Mercury Marquis. Cheap, good on gas and reliable. Or so I thought. I put my $600 down payment on the car in February of 2015 and drove it off the lot that day. After I got my dad's reaction I was less than displeased.

The main problem, and most dangerous, was that the tires were bald. In the middle of February with snow and ice on the way. Keep in mind I was just overwhelmed with excitement and paperwork. The tires, to a naive 20 year old girl, looked ok. Little did I know the expense I was going to have to come up with to replace them. The test drive went alright. But the trunk button didn't work and the lock buttons didn't work for the passenger side and neither did the window button for rear seats. The salesman said he would have "them look at it" which he never did. There was no spare tire either. Just a large empty space in the trunk with a broken jack.

Car-Mart also failed to mention how much the sales tax was going to be. After reality hit me that I just put a down payment and signed papers for an overpriced car and had to come up with sales tax and my first months payment after just paying $650, I realized I was going to have to come up with more money to get new tires and fix the piddly errors. So I journeyed to Car-Mart for some help.

They offered to fix my tires, but would only take the car to their mechanic of choice, where it shouldn't have passed inspection anyway. And would only put used tires on it. Did I tell you I was going to have to drive the car to their mechanic in another town with the gas I put in the car? Little things like that really grind my gears. They advised I come up with my first months payment by the due date. As for sales tax, they told me to just wait and pay the late fee on it.

But it was even this that made me leave "my" title, car and keys with them that day. 5 days after I "purchased" "my" car as they kept saying. It was the fact that my father who called for an explanation was indirectly called an idiot and questioned as to why he didn't come look at the car. I got angry at this point and told the "manager" who was on the phone with my dad that he was in a wheelchair. World war 3 began.

These people are NOT family oriented. They do NOT care for you. They are the stereotypical used car dealership with some "nice" payment plans that don't check credit. My experience went much farther into detail than this. It was an entire day of hassle and yelling. My family was harassed and degraded and I will never recommend them to anyone I know. Please, just save your money and go elsewhere. Needless to say I had a family member bring me back my Pontiac and I went home $650 short but with a loan off my shoulders.

Bought the truck we discussed payments, she asked "how much are you comfortable with on payments." I said 250.00. She said "no way, but I can do 335.00." I accepted, she brought several papers for me to sign, pushing me to hurry. I would sign one she would take it back exposing the next page. I signed them all she made a copy for me before I signed and put them in an envelope. I told her I would like to do an ach to make sure I would pay on time. I paid 4 payments and got a bill in feb for 911.00. I threw it away I figured it was an error, got 2 more bills a few days later so I called the store.

Sent it back to the shop, got it back and parts of it where not bolted down and it had a real bad miss and another oil leak. Sent it back to the shop for the 4th time now in 5 months - stays in the shop for over about 2 months. This time I call every Friday and still pay my payment every month like always and they keep telling me they found more stuff wrong and are fixing it.

Do not hear from them for weeks so I call the mechanic - he says they have know it's needed a motor replaced for 3 weeks now (crankshaft was destroy honestly surprised the motor even ran) and have yet to inform me or buy a new motor. After 4 trips to the shop in 5 months finally get it back 2 months later with a "new" used motor with 200k miles. WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN and they never once offered me another vehicle to drive while it was in the shop. Thankfully I have a company vehicle. They don't care about their customers. I purchased a 2008 g6. I had this car for one day and I go to open the trunk to put in my son's stroller and I realize that the trunk button doesn't open...not a huge deal. Well I tried the key and it wouldn't even go into the trunk lock all the way. I called CAR-MART at 9:00 am to ask if there was a separate trunk key and they said "no." I told them about my issue and she didn't even offer to transfer me to a mechanic...All she said was, "You bought it like this. You have three days to return it." I was in shock that they would treat someone who just bought an overpriced car that way.

I called a mobile locksmith who drove to my home. He tried wd40 in the key hole to help loosen it. No luck, so he decided to try to go into my trunk through my backseat with my approval to make sure the latch wasn't stuck. I agreed. Upon taking out the backseat we noticed an very old corner of a zip lock bag that had been tied up. I was in shock and he too was. I have two children and had been riding around with that in my car without the slightest idea. I called CAR-MART immediately. They told me to drive there and they would call the cops to have them dispose of it.

I got there mad and they refused to refund me my money. I asked, "How can you miss something like that during inspection?" They then told me they don't inspect under their seats. Who sells a car...well...what dealership sells a car and don't inspect it? They told me it was a nice car so they didn't think they had to. What?!! As mad as I was the general manager came in, never spoke to me, never apologized. Used middle men to carry messages such as I can't be refunded, that in fact I had to pick another car if I wanted one. What would make him think I trust this company now?

Well upon choosing another car I had to wait four hours for my husband to get off work to sign papers. I couldn't leave. I asked for a copy of the police report. Guess what...They never called. They said, based on their opinion, they didn't think it was anything. I'm not paying them 14000 to think. I called the police myself and when they got there, lo and behold, whatever was in there was gone and all that's left is the bag. The officer told me it did had something in it at one point in time but it didn't anymore. Still who misses this??

The man who fixes the cars told me he was going to change the oil and there was a headlight out he would replace before I left. The general manger refused to change my headlight and oil!! Are you serious? I asked for corporate office number and they Gave me a bogus number. I am writing my local newspaper with my pics and turning it in to our news station. I purchased a 2004 Trailblazer in Sept... Tried to return the next day because transmission would not allow me to go uphill in any gear but first. The GM David said I could not do that since I signed a service agreement for repairs. So they took the car when I asked where they took it they said they did not know. So I got the car back 4 days later. It then had a knock in the engine and transmission still bad. All they did was put some vacuum in it. They took it again, this time they had to tow it so I asked the tow driver where he was going to take it. He told me...

I called Carmart and again would not tell me where my car was at. But I knew so I called the shop and I believe there was no certification of mechanic. But anyway they put a junkyard transmission in it... not what the service agreement said. It was to be either new or rebuilt. So then the ball joints and bearings were going out, they could not tell me that they would replace these parts to be rebuilt or new. So at this point I gave the car back with no past due payments as I go to the mountains and hard telling what they planned on putting in the front end and I did not feel I wanted to free fall in a Trailblazer off Lookout mountain lol.

So they said they were going to sue me. I have an attorney and we are suing based on the service agreement default. Also filed complaints with Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act... I wish I could get enough people to file a class action law suit against the corporation... If you have been wronged by Carmart, please file complaints with the Attorney General in your state... The Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau and if it is about the service contract, refer to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty ACT.

He is like "no we will give you 3 weeks." During our discussion my 11 year old daughter asked him "so you're not taking our car today?" He point blank told her "No we aren't taking your car." So they typed up the arrangement and myself signed it and my account rep signed it.

After papers were signed they came back into the room and said "We need your keys." I said, "for what?" They said it was being parked on arrangements. Which was not the arrangements. So they kept my car and this caused me from being able to get the money to pay the hundred which was my unemployment, I end up losing cause of all this.

The paper that was signed states on the bottom, that if I do not comply to the arrangements they can take my car. 3 days after they took my car they sent me a letter saying they were going to sell my car. Which my arrangement day hasn't even passed yet. They have never sent me a letter stated when and where the auction was and they sold my car. We had paid 6,000 dollars on the car already. A few weeks went by and I heard nothing. I still had the keys to that vehicle, it was just at there lot at the time. SO after anxiously awaiting a phone call, I decided to let the car go and just make the damn payments that I was gonna have to make in order to have the car paid off.

SO I drove up there to collect my belongings and my license plate and let them know I was done waiting, that I would just pay what I needed to and be done with it. I went in and sat down with the manager who was very nice. He was the only one who ever helped me. He explained that there would be a court date. I agreed and then told him I wanted my things back. He told me that the main manager had Thrown all my belongings away INCLUDING my license plate which is ILLEGAL IN ALL 50 STATES.

I was furious when I walked out of the door. My car was blocked in on both front and back and sides by 4 CARS! My plate was still on my car.... which was weird because I was told it had been thrown away. I then contacted corporate. I spoke to one of the higher up people in the company and after talking with me he decided I wasn’t gonna have to be sued for the vehicle, which I'm sure even if they had tried they wouldn’t have won. I would have counter sued for the things I lost. This was at a lot located in Northwest Arkansas. To all future carmart customers, beware. These people are scammers and are just out to make money.

I paid my car off two weeks ago and was never late. Yet, they called me early every two weeks on my due date for a so called friendly reminder. After I explained my work schedule, that I work all night, it made no difference. I could go on and on, but they don't deserve the attention! DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THESE PEOPLE! Do not go there. My boyfriend and I regret going there after we had the car for a month and 2 weeks. We started to have problems with it within the 1 week. They told us it's our problem not theirs. They have a so called warranty that they put on the vehicle. They don't cover much. The car kept pulling to the left badly (not their problem). We had the check engine light come on. We had it put under a machine to find out what could be wrong. They told us it was the O2 sensor (again not their problem). We had a 2007 Chevy Aveo cute car suppose to be a gas saver.... Well it wasn't. We continues to have issues with them badly. They don't pay the taxes or tag the vehicles so that's all your responsibility. They claim to have low payments...Ha, that they thought you should be able to pay taxes on a vehicle that is under $9000 and pay $700 for taxes and tags out of your pocket and they still stiff you with a high payments and get screwed big time.

I wouldn't recommend this place at all because if you do you gotta make sure you have enough money to do all that. And they wouldn't help us at all. We was using the old tags on our old car and we never done the taxes on that car the whole time we had it. I was getting tired of getting screwed so we went elsewhere for a vehicle that will cover a lot of issues and such. So when we got the new/used vehicle we give the keys back to them they didn't like that plus he was getting rude to my boyfriend saying they could sue us for us giving them back the car with no tags or taxes on our name. My boyfriend told me he asked if there was anything we need to change and he, the manager Colton, couldn't give him a straight answer until I walked inside. Then the manager says, "No, you're good." Don't trust anybody at Car-mart. They just know how to screw people badly especially when you're on the budget.

First the car had over 100,000 miles, engine light on which I, a woman fixed, a rattle coming from under hood which their shop said was just a Nissan. I don't think I've ever had that from a Nissan in the past. Can't get Conway General manager to return my call, not a surprise I know. I have had a horrible experience with CarMart. I am a working mother of three. When I went to CarMart I needed a reliable vehicle to get from point A to point B. When I got home day one I found multiple issues. The headlights didn't work, the horn was broke and there was fluid leaking from the car. I called immediately. They had the car for days right off the bat. Then a couple weeks later the fuel pump went out. They had the car for a week. Currently there is some kind of problem where the car is pulsing when idling in drive. At stop lights it almost feels like the car is about to shut off.

The car has been in and out the shop five times in three going on four weeks. There is no resolution with the company. The GM name is ** at the Henderson, Ky location. He is rude on the phone and has no sense of urgency at helping customers. I have made two payments while the car has been in their shop and about to pay the car insurance in a minute. I have absolutely had it with the run around routine. I call corporate and get no call back. I will NEVER buy from them again and I will do my best to make sure that everyone that comes in contact with this company leaves without purchasing. This company as a whole is a FAILURE!!! The previous GM (John Walsh), the New GM (Jennifer) and I discussed what must happen to trade the vehicle in with no downpayment. I spent 3 days filling out new applications and forms with all the same information on file that I have been updating throughout my time with Car mart. The new GM (Jennifer) went back on our deal on all 3 occasions, changing the initial requirements previously agreed upon. The new GM has no customer service skills and absolutely no people skills.

I have spent over $20000 with Car mart and have referred 4 people that have gotten cars from Car mart. If the new GM does not appreciate customer loyalty, car mart is gonna fail in the Lufkin area due to the GM's attitude. I will be paying off my vehicle and taking my business elsewhere and I will never ever again recommend a single person to Car mart again. People skills is a must and the Lufkin GM has none. On one occasion while I was in the office the GM made a customer drive 50 plus miles for $6 because she threatened to repo his car.

I have two cars purchased through Car-Mart (bought at different times). The first one, a Dodge Ram pickup, has had problems since day one. The day I bought the truck, we got it home to find there was not water/antifreeze in the radiator or a dipstick for the oil. I was told all of this was to be fixed BEFORE we left the lot. Called them up, they said they must have forgotten. Drove the truck maybe, I don't know, 10 miles, and the head gaskets went. So they come and tow the truck to the shop (I didn't have to pay for this tow). A week passes, and I haven't heard anything on the truck. I call them up, they tell me the gaskets are getting replaced and the truck will be back next week. The next week I go to get the truck. Everything is fine except my fuel is now on E and my battery is dead. They replaced my battery for me, still not sure what happened to that full tank of gas. Everything goes well for the first 4 1/2 months. Then the truck starts burning oil. Still under contract, I call them up.

I had moved out of town at this point 3 hrs from their lot. They tell me to bring the truck up there and drop it off and they will get it in the shop and I will have it back on Monday. I’m thinking ok, drop it off, have it back in a couple days. WRONG. I get into town on Thurs, take the truck up there, and they say park it out back, they should be able to get to it in a couple weeks. I said well that isn't going to work, I was told it would be in and back out by Monday. I have at this point 2 weeks left in my service contract. I tell them, “I only have two weeks left on my contract and by the time you guys get it in the shop I’ll be out of contract.” He tells me well the shops are backed up and if the truck goes into the shop AFTER the contract is up, it’s all out of my pocket even if I drop the truck off at the lot PRIOR to my contract ending. Truck goes in the shop, valve cover gaskets gets fixed. I pay out of pocket. Truck does good for a month after that. Till one day I’m headed home after work and truck loses power and starts blowing oil out the tail pipe. And bam, I’m broke down.

I take it to the shop, (personally) and told that the truck will need a new motor and the gaskets was NEVER changed!. Now I’m out of contract at this point. I call them and let them know the truck is broke down and was told the gaskets was never changed, so WHAT did I pay for??? He agrees that the shop must have made an error, and they would help get the motor fixed only because my gaskets was never changed. I can't afford a motor at this point so the guy says price motors. Ok, I priced motors, got the estimate. I call them up, he says, “Well that’s going to be too much.” He then tells me, “I’ll refinance your truck and add the motor cost on the back of it.” I said ok, that is fine. He don't add the cost to the back, he calls me to tell me my payments are now 210 a week instead of 105. I said, “Wait, that’s not right. You said it would be at the back of the note and payments wouldn't change, I can't afford that.” He then tells me, “Well you have to get the truck fixed.” I tell him, “I can't do that with that price. There is no way. I have kids to feed and I’m not paying almost 840 a month on a used truck.”

Now I have NEVER missed a payment or ever been late. He then tells me, “Well if can't afford to fix the truck then you can't afford the car either.” EXCUSE ME? He THREATENED to take a car that has NEVER missed a payment nor never has been late on. After he threatened me, I told him, “You know what, come get this P.O.S. truck” and he had NO right to say he was going to take my car because of the issues with the truck. The truck is still sitting here... 2 months later and I haven't made a payment on it since that day. He told me that he can't dispatch a tow truck to come get it till I pay it up. Why am I going to pay on it for you to come get it AFTER I told you to pick it up I voluntarily handing it over. Every time I go in to pay my car payment, the local lot here they asks if the other lot has gotten the truck figured out yet. Of course I say no, it’s still sitting in my yard. They still haven't picked it up.

Then the car computer broke, then my throttles had to be fixed. And in return the General Manager Jason ** has been completely disrespectful and uncaring of the fact I have small children. I work and have to borrow others car to do my daily running, and I faithfully make my payments and if my attendance was needed I'm there. All I wanted to do was get into a different vehicle and continue with my payments.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT PURCHASE A CAR FROM CAR-MART. I even brought my dad to talk with the manager to have a better understanding of what’s happening and to find out the next move but again Jason was disrespectful with him. Also, I KBB my vehicle only to learn that they overpriced my car. I can go on & on about this. Fed Up, he also said if I wanted out of my car then I would have to pay off my current car then trade it in for a different one. I would be the fool if I ever purchase another anything from there.

I bought a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee from CarMart in Mt. Pleasant, TX in August 2013. The Jeep itself runs fine. I'm sure it's only by the grace of God that it does, based on everything that's wrong with it. I found out it's been wrecked and more than likely, totaled. The dashboard does not fit flush against the frame of the vehicle and when it rains I get 2 inches of standing water in the front floor boards. The driver's side leaks from the dashboard and the passenger side leaks from the front handle that a passenger would use to help themselves into the vehicle. When I purchased the car, I was under the impression that I had the right size tires. WRONG!!

I found out last week that I had 3 size 16 tires and one size 17 tire which blew out on the freeway at 65 mph when I was driving home from work. The tread completed unraveled off the wheel and broke off part of the quarter panel on the back in the process. When I tried to have the tire changed, the spare had no tread on it at all and was flat. The defroster doesn't work so the windows stay fogged up when it's cold. The mirror's don't work side to side and only up and down. The power seat doesn't work at all, neither does the CD player. The air bag light has been on since the day I bought the vehicle. The check engine light has been on now for 4 months even though there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the engine, other than it burns oil quite a bit. I'm actually thankful that it's still running, which, as I said before, seems to be the only good thing.

Now to payment and customer service. CarMart expects to be paid every other Friday. This in itself is a joke because twice per year, they get three payments. When I first bought the vehicle they would only finance it for two years, not surprising since it was already 11 years old. When I confronted them about the fact that the vehicle had been wrecked, they refinance my payment down to $130 every other Friday instead of the original $175.

Not long after I left Mt. Pleasant, TX, my payments got behind and then came the threatening phone calls and the demands for more and more and more payments. I paid what I could but even that wasn't enough. Most recently, they faxed me a document requiring $220 every other Friday making my payment $440 per month, $660 on the months that have 3 payments. This will never ever happen and I have no intention of ever paying this much money, on a vehicle that shouldn't be sold for anywhere near the $9900 + that was originally asked. I think I'll check out drivetime.com. I can see it's a race now to see if I can get something else before they come and get it.

My husband and I totaled a car and we have four kids and without a car. Out of desperation we went to Car-Mart on December 23, 2013 and agreed to buy a car and use our tax return as a down payment. On about the fourth day after getting the car we noticed That something was wrong with the transmission. I called Car-Mart and they told me that we had to have our 50 dollar deductible to put it in the shop. I called and talked to the maintenance manager named Rodney and he let us go ahead and put it in and just pay when we come to pick it up. They told us what they claimed to fix and wasn't even close to what the problem was and talked to me like I was stupid for even letting them know what the problem was to begin with!

Well my husband and I decided that it was better to go ahead and just file it on our bankruptcy that we was about to file. We lost 710.00 dollars a month and knew that the car wasn't fixed and knew we couldn't afford a $432.00 a month payment on something that we knew for a fact needed a new transmission. So we had turned the car in on Feb. 5 not even a month and half later! I personally went to talk to them about the money situation and to let them know that we wasn't going to pick up the car and wanted to talk to someone about our down payment since we only had the car for such a short amount of time.

I was wanting to ask questions and find out my options. I found out really quick what type of person I was dealing with, Ollie is her name. I was told that they would have my tax refund because we had already filed with them as we promised and they WAS getting their down payment or we wasn't getting our refund check. So to end this quicker we had to pay them 2300.00 dollars because we had to get our money in order to get the bankruptcy going. OLLIE made me feel so horrible I couldn't even wait to talk to Steve **. I had never had anyone treat me the way she did. I left in tears and cried all the way home from her attitude towards me. The lady that was in the room called me personally to apologize for the way she treated me as bad as she did. We paid the money and I'm glad that we have the option to put it on our bankruptcy. Don't ever buy a car from these people. They sell crap and only nice while you are buying the car!!! Walk before you deal with these people!!! Don't file taxes with them for sure!!!

I had explained to the first guy I had interviewed with Gene and he said I had the job and then gave it to someone else. The second day the first guy wasn't there. I will never again buy or attempt to buy from Car-Mart nor will I send someone there. The cars were not quality. They were ugly and in bad shape and grossly overpriced. $8300 for a 2000 Impala that is not in amazing shape? I think not. Plus interest and huge down payment on top of that! We went somewhere and are paying a decent price (1500) for an Impala 2 years newer. Thank you Car-Mart for showing me it wasn't meant to be and allowing me to spend my hard earned money wisely.

In July of 2012, my fiance and I signed a contract with Car-Mart in Claremore, Oklahoma for a 2000 Chevy Blazer. We were set to pay over $10,000 for the vehicle. Not even 2 months later, the radiator cap busted off. That being small, they would not fix it. The muffler was clogged and when we spoke to the man who sold us the vehicle, his advice was to cut off the muffler. How many else out there knows how illegal that is? On top of all that, the brakes went completely out. When we talked to them about the brakes, they had no problem taking it to a shop to have them fixed yet they charged us for fixing the brakes. Just a little over $500 for the brakes to be fixed. And guess what? Two weeks later the brakes started slipping. We were never informed that we could not take the vehicle across state line.

So in May of 2013, we drove to Florida because my mother-in-law had a stroke. We didn't even make it all the way to our destination and our transmission went out in Ocala, Florida. We were stuck on the side of the road for 13 hours with our 1-year-old child until my father-in-law could come to pick us and the truck up. We called them and told them to just come get the truck because we were done paying for a vehicle that was unable to get us from Point A to Point B, yet we are still being charged for the vehicle. Do not ever sign a contract with Car-Mart. They will screw you over faster than you'd ever think. They are nice when you first get the vehicle. After that, they will talk to you like you're **. I had made two payment arrangements with them, yet both times they still hassled us and our references about the payments. In my opinion and the opinion of many others that I know who have bought a vehicle through them, their vehicles are lemons and not worth your time, effort or money.

We haven't had this truck for three months. We told them and they did nothing. We talked to corporate and they did nothing. I tried to return it and they said I can't. This cannot be legal to sell cars that are pieces of junk and expect people to pay for them and pay for all the maintenance. It's not fair or right. I have spent at least $150 a week in fixing it and we have only had three months, plus the payments of $206 every two weeks. It's too expensive and the fact is they sell pieces of junk.

By the time it got "fixed", I said that loosely, we had a car payment and tag and insurance and couldn't afford it; they take it from December till March. We got it back and have to wait another month to save to get it tagged and insured. And the title switched, all in all over $700.00 to do.

Then it died on me twice. I got it started and tightened the battery cables. I went to OKC and back. After a few hours, I went out to go to the store and there was gas everywhere, which is a hazard to the other tenants in my apt. building. They said it’s going to be on Friday morning. Then they said Monday. Well let’s hope no smokers come flicking their lighted cig because the car will explode. They don’t care about you. They just want your money however they can get it. I will not be buying any more cars from them ever after this is over! I don’t want a repo on my credit, but they won’t get another chance to do this to me again!

I purchased a 2005 Dodge Durango which was a lemon. The SUV was knocking; there was a misfire in number 8 piston crankshaft, oil leak and engine light was on. I got the SUV because the manager (Robert) said that they will fix everything that was wrong with it. That was a lie! It was still under warranty but the manager kept prolonging and told me that nothing was wrong with the SUV, that that was how Dodges sound. I tried to get insurance at US Agencies but could not because the car was stolen before. I found out that the problems that I was having led to the motor going out.

I called Car-Mart. They had it pulled to their shop and they purchased a motor for me. It took two months to put it in. While I was waiting, I had to catch the bus and rent a car (extra money). After the motor got put in, the same thing that was wrong with my old motor that Car-Mart purchase. I called corporate office and they told me that I have to pay for the labor and shipping of another motor. The store manager kept dodging me which made me call corporate but I got the same results. They don't care about the customer.

I pay $408 a month for a lemon. I paid them $2800 for putting the bad motor in, and I have to pay more for them finding me another motor. I'm very disgusted. I am so tired of calling and going up to the car lot trying to get some reasoning. Corporate is not worth calling. They don't care either. This is my first and last time to buy a car from them.

I was looking for a vehicle and I went in to my local Car-Mart and they were really nice at first! I was informed I had a certain price range to work with so I found a Ford four-wheel drive truck. It was ugly, a lot of miles but, hey, I needed a good rig. Well, I drove it home 8 miles from the store. On my way home, I stopped and filled up with gas $53.00, not crazy bad, I guess. I started it up to leave and the check gauge light was flashing. It had lost all oil pressure; I shut truck off, got in the car with wife and went home. At the time, I drove a wrecker for work so I loaded the truck up, delivered truck to the Car-Mart that night. They said, "Okay, it's in shop; we will call you." I waited 3 weeks for a call. I finally called and spoke with the general manager. She updated me that oil pump had gone out and they were going to fix it.

Three weeks later, I got the truck back with grease all over the hood, seat, door steering wheel and the full tank of gas had dropped to a quarter of a tank. I went back in and the manager said, "Okay, I'm sorry," and told me to fill up and she would take care of it out of her own pocket. Wow, that's great service, I thought. So I went to the gas station to fill up and the pump clicked every $50. I took it back and it went back in the shop for 2 weeks. We found out it had some crushed vent lines due to engine install. I got it back and drove it home and the 4-wheel drive didn't work so back it went and I said, "I would just like a different truck." I found one behind the building and they said, "No, impossible! It was over my limit." I thought I deserved what made me happy and that truck was it, so I talked to a guy at corporate and he said, "Sir, I'm sorry," and called Car-Mart right then and said, "Make it happen." So it was done, an 02 GMC Sierra 4x4, pretty, had 18,000 170,000 miles. I'm a happy customer, right?

Well, over the next few months, they had a change of employees several times and we had gotten a Ford Mustang 01 GT with no hassle. Boom, and it was done. Wow! I followed my wife home and we stopped to fill up and it was smoking bad burning oil. So after we filled up car, we drove it back to Car-Mart the same night of purchase. After 5 weeks, they say that it may need an engine. Okay, well, I'll go get papers and I'll get car legal so some employee of Car-Mart gave me directions to some crazy place. I never could get a straight answer of where my car is. I was driving around looking and a yellow Mustang came by me, at least 75, in a 60 zone. It was ours. I followed it to Car-Mart and it was the mechanic Car-Mart chose to work on it. I was told he was diagnosing it. Well, I got the papers and there was some guy that Car-Mart didn't even know laid back in pass.

Seat smoking and listening to something I can only assume is music. I checked the gas gauge, it was almost empty. I filled it up. After 6 weeks, I called the general manager and said, "Look, I need that car," and she had it towed to my shop. I was working at a Chevy dealer in Conway. I got the car and he had only dropped the engine in and it was almost on its side. After 6 hours, he had the car running. Car-Mart paid the bill from the dealer. Guess what? There was a change of employees again. Over the next few years, we got hit by a tornado and we lost our home. They worked with us. I was happy. A year went by and my wife missed a payment; she forgot. The general manager at that time waited till she stopped to make payment and he jumped in the car and took off. Well, I came from work early to talk to them and fixed this so we fixed it. They said no problem and dropped our payments. Awesome, thank you.

We had my truck paid down to $4500 and my wife's car $7000 and it hit Christmas and New Year. I work on commission as a tech at a dealer. Times got really bad and they helped here and there and we missed two payments due to holidays and I didn't get paid for the holidays. They came to my job and told me they were taking the truck because I was over 30 days due. That was a Thursday. I said, "I get paid Friday and I can catch it up." They wouldn't listen. They wanted my truck. They took it and, yes, I was upset. I called my wife and she talked to someone at Car-Mart. They said, "Just come in and we will fix it." We got there and they were so rude and told me after all the time and money and problems we had, he wanted payoff for me to get truck back; it was over 4000 dollars. I was like, OMG, I don't need to hear anymore because I'm getting upset I just lost my truck.

So I left and this guy, the general manager, jumped up to follow me out and the whole time, he was running his mouth so it was not a good public attitude. I went to get in the car and he said, "No, I want that car back and we are done with you guys." I said, "Wow, are you serious? Well, give us a ride home please," and he said, "Hell, no." It was raining and dark and cold. My wife was in high heels from work and we left for home on foot, soaked, and a couple of cops pulled up and talked to us and said, "What happened at Car Mart? They called us." I told him and he said he was told by this GM that I tried to make it physical. I never ever tried or hinted that I wanted to get physical. Ya, I was loud and I cursed a few times but I just lost both my vehicles and we have no way home.

The cop gave us a ride and gave me a warning, criminal trespassing. He said they requested I never come back and they won't even give me my personals out of my cars. Wow, customer service at Conway is a joke. Hey, they waited until they were right at paid off and stopped working with us. Our vehicles are now going back up for sale. What a joke Car-Mart is. I have turned several people away from there and will continue to do so.

I recently purchased a 2002 GMC P/U from Car-Mart in Harrison, AR. The vehicle had not been detailed. It needed front seats replaced and the front end needed alignment. I was aware of these problems prior to purchasing and made a written and verbal agreement to have these things taken care of. I took the vehicle in to be detailed, to have seats installed and for front end alignment on 12/31/2012 at 8:30AM. The store manager called me at 1:55PM and told me that the vehicle was ready. I responded telling him that I was on my way to work and if he could leave keys in it, I would pick up after work. He said he would leave keys in the gas tank cover. I had my daughter pick up the vehicle later that evening.

The next day, I examined the vehicle and it had different seats in it. The detail job was very poorly done and the front end had not been aligned. On 1/2/2013, I went into Car-Mart and expressed my unhappiness with the job done. The manager said that they would redo it. I told him I could not get it in again until Saturday, 1/5/2013. He said that would be fine. On 1/5/2013 at 9:00AM, I took the vehicle into Car-Mart and was told by the manager that they did not have a detail guy or mechanic in on Saturday. I asked the manager why he told me it was okay to bring it in on Saturday. He responded by saying they have never had a detailer in on Saturday. I requested that the manager talk with me in his office.

We started walking to his office and he asked me what this was about. I asked him where he got his management training. He then refused to go into his office and became very defensive and loud. I again asked him to come into his office. He said, "We can do this here." I responded with okay fine and asked him why he lied to me. Why would I drive 10 miles into town to have this work redone if you, as you say, don't have anyone here to do the work? He raised his voice at me and went to the front lobby. I became agitated due to his attitude and stated that I have been coming there for 15 years, and had never had any problems until now. I simply wanted the work done that was agreed with and done properly.

The manager pointed his finger at me an in angry, loud voice and said that he never told me to come in on Saturday. I pointed out that if the work had been done properly in the first place, I wouldn't have to be here today. He said that he thought that I was in a hurry, so they quickly did the job. He then went behind the counter where I admittedly called him a liar. He leaned over and with a very reddened face, pounded his fist on the counter and said that he never said that; and to get out of my store. I then asked the female worker at the counter to call the police as I felt very threatened. Then I went outside and waited for the police. It ended up that I and the manager received a ticket for disorderly conduct.

I don't understand how I was disorderly when all I wanted to do was get the work done properly that was agreed with. I have never in my 57 years had a manager of a store yell at me or make me feel threatened. I did contact corporate with them, basically being of no help at all. Their outlook was it was just as much my fault?

I returned it and they kept it again. Again, it comes back unfixed. For the third time, it's still not fixed. They don't care if it's your only vehicle. They sell junk cars. I'm an educated person, and they think they are pulling the wool over on your eyes all the time. I even went and called the corporate. I got absolutely nowhere. Nobody cares about you, and if they drove the car they gave me, I am considering suing them. I just want what is just and right. They take advantage of people. If you still go through them, just know you are bound for car trouble. Just be careful. That's all I am saying. No one should have to go through this.

The assistant manager even threatened to call the Bryan County sheriff's office! I had never missed a month's full payment on the car and he threatened me with the sheriff's office! I bought a 2002 Buick LeSabre on July 24, 2012. I drove it for 3 days before the vehicle started having problems. I went to CAR-MART and they had their "master" mechanic look at it and told us that it was just the front motor mount that needed to be fixed. Having heard other bad reviews on them, I took the vehicle down to my mechanic and had him look at it. It needed two motor mounts and two transmission mounts. It was fine because after yelling in their office, they were going to fix it free of charge. The shop has now had the car 2 weeks out of 2 weeks and 3 days of having purchased it. They came back and said the transmission needs to be rebuilt and that the A/C didn't just need recharging but replaced.

I needed the vehicle and that’s why I got it - so I could go back and forth to work. But after this, I have been bumming rides from friends and family because they will not help you with a loaner car. But then again, after yelling in the office and having to threaten to stand on the lot and warn everyone that arrived not to buy the cars, they are now paying for everything. The customer service sucks and they don't care about the well-being of anyone. They are just looking for their next buck. If it wasn't for me needing a car and being too young to really get credit built up yet, I would not be dealing with these **. I recommend that you stay away from every CAR-MART. They are scam artists that thrive on making the working man to work harder just to survive.

Junk Vehicles being sold to hard working people - I bought this truck back in November of 10. From day one, the service engine light came on and never went off. They put it in their shop and never fixed the problem. The problem is the cylinder in the engine. I have paid almost $12,000 for this truck and now it either needs the motor rebuilt or a new motor. The dealership says they can finance me the money to fix the truck but are not willing to fix the problem.

This truck has 25 issues with Carfax. I also put a new fuel pump on the truck in the first 5 months and since it happened to me out of state when I was on vacation, they did not pay for that and it was under warranty. They will only pay when you use their mechanics. And the mechanics they use are crooked just like Car-Mart. I even called the headquarters and talked to someone there and they said not our problem. I talked to the manager of the Broken Arrow location where I got it, and I informed him that if he could not fix it, then I would need to be given a new car because I can't have an unreliable truck as I have a family of five. He said that was out of the question. It has had something wrong with it since the third day of purchase. Something needs to happen for me and my family. I just want justice in this matter.

However, he never bothered asking my son's father, the co-buyer, to make a payment since he and the manager are best friends. The new wife of my son's father also works there. I know they have in the past months sold pills out of the dealership. I contacted corporate several times in the past of things happening - still, no changes. Also, the sales person (the new wife of my son's father) has no driver's license to ride with potential customers, which was also reported. Shortly after we bought a Dodge Stratus, the front bumper was hanging down. We looked at the bumper and saw it had wood screws holding it up. We also had the passenger door handle bust when we closed the door. We went to the dealership and gave them the wood screws and told them about the door handle. They said they would make arrangements and fix the things that were broken. We heard nothing back from Car Mart.

We put on new tires since the ones on the vehicle were bald. Then, oil started leaking and then the engine started knocking. The power steering started acting up and was leaking fluid. We stopped making payments on the vehicle and drove it around until they repossessed the car about 7 months later.

Thankfully, when they repossessed the vehicle, we already had another vehicle but I would never go back to this dealership again. They are a bunch of crooks and sell vehicles that are not well-maintained nor are they safe! Go someplace else and stay away from Car Mart!

They "fixed" the vehicle for a fee of course, but I was skeptical because the car continued to rumble when running and felt halting under the gas pedal. I took the car to a certified mechanic and he found the belt they so-called fixed was taped together with black electrical tape! He pulled it out and showed it to me.

That car could have broken down again while driving! I took the mechanic’s report and the mechanic to the dealership with me but, of course, they had no comment and would not verify what they did to "fix" the car!

I purchased a Chrysler Town & Country from America's Car-Mart in Rogers, AR. From the beginning, it had a problem with the transmission, and I took it back more than three times. Once, they kept it for nearly 3 weeks and said that the transmission had been rebuilt. However, my husband looked underneath and it was obvious that the tranny bolts had never been removed. After repeated trips, they decided it needed a tuneup. So we gave it one. They also said it needed a motor mount. We bought one. These problems did not fix the transmission problem. Rogers Car-Mart wouldn't discuss it with me any more, so I took it to the Car-Mart in Siloam Springs, AR and was told it was my problem, and there was nothing they were willing to do for me.

Now I have a vehicle that I am making payments on regularly that is not safe to drive! I have two young grandchildren that I drive around with me a lot, and it is a worry! We want to go to Michigan on vacation, but now we have to rent a car, because there is no way this one will make it. My credit was not great to begin with, which is why I have to deal with companies like Car-Mart. However, this van will now sit in my backyard and grow grass and rot because it cannot be driven. And, I now have to find a vehicle that is safe to drive. I'm not happy. If there is anything you can do or have any suggestions to help with the problem, please let me know.
