I paid nearly $6,000 to AAMCO to fix my transmission, and it’s been a nightmare ever since. The first repair only lasted 2 days before the transmission broke again. I returned under warranty, and the car broke down again shortly after. To make matters worse, the first time I got it back, it had a leak in the axle. After the third time bringing it in, they claimed it had a full warranty—yet that repair didn’t even last 10 miles before the car broke down once more. This time, I had to pay out of pocket to have it towed back to the shop. I also never said anything about having an unlimited warranty for one year, since I wouldn't be able to drive more than 15000 miles in a year. The customer office told me that instead of giving my money back for the rental cars, they would give me unlimited mileage for one year, which isn't good since I wouldn't be able to make more than 15000 miles anyway, which is their normal warranty.

They didn't exactly ask me if I wanted the deal or not it was just applied. When I try contacting them about the axel they told me they didn't have an hour that I would be able to come in to get my car fixed. They’ve had multiple chances to make it right, and every time they’ve failed. I’ve spent thousands and lost all trust. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place.

Had my JEEP worked on and as soon as I drove 6 miles the transmission went out again. These guys worked on it for two weeks. After a few months it gave out again. Was tired of going back, so I ended up buying a new truck.

These places are all rip offs, there are no real mechanics at places. They just assume they know what is wrong with my vehicle and don't actually fix it. Now that its still making the same sound and not shifting still, they think I should have to pay them again for a diagnosis to not actually fix my car. The so called manager was a joke, said they diagnosis a vehicle to the best of their ability. Must have gotten their technicians, if you can even call them that, from clown school.

I dropped off my car here for a diagnostic concerning a fluid leak. The next morning I received a call back, assuring me the cause of the leak was a simple loose oil drain plug and oil filter, the issue was totally fixed, and it was no longer leaking. I picked my car up to find, after only 30 minutes of being home, that there was still a leak. I called and the man said it was “residual” and to run it through a car wash and it would be fine. I did as he instructed, but it continued leaking.

I took it back to them that same day, and when they looked at it again they said it “looks like” the leak is coming from the oil filter, but likely wasn’t the filter itself, rather it was the part the filter connects to on the engine. They were willing to replace that part for $500, and when I asked “but you don’t know if that’s actually going to fix the leak?” He said no. I spent $75 for the “diagnostic”, $22 for a car wash, plus about $50 in Uber rides over the course of 24 hours and still never got an actual diagnosis for the leak. These guys are willing to load up the parts cannon (with your money, of course) and just start shooting.

Biggest waste of time and money. Do not take your car here unless you are willing to spend entirely too much for them to only guess what might be wrong with your car, instead of simply cleaning the engine, adding some dye to the oil and looking to see where the leak is coming from - otherwise known as performing a proper diagnostic for an oil leak.

To make matters worse, I also found a few things missing from my car after I left. It only cost me $50 to replace what was taken, but still, not a good look. It’s also worth mentioning that when I took my car back to them for a second attempt at a proper diagnostic, I overheard a conversation between the man I dealt with through this process and another guy who was working there. They didn’t realize I had come in yet, and the door between the lobby and the garage was left wide open so I overheard the one say he was going to “bring some of those pre rolls” and I’m assuming they were referring to pre rolled ** cigarettes, as I am not familiar with any other type of “pre rolls” that would make sense in the context of that particular conversation.

I will never take my car to this or any AAMCO ever again. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a large, well known company I previously thought of as reputable, and it was also my worst experience with any mechanic, ever.

When we went to get it my daughter in law asked them, "Do I need to bring a driver to get it home?" lady in the office said, "Ya." wow it's home and not moving at all with a new part. I took my vehicle for a FREE courtesy check at 1821 S S Rd 7, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317. After two days of getting no updates, I called and spoke to a female by the name of **. She informed me that the battery in my vehicle was dead and that they had to charge it, which took the whole day (RED FLAG). She also informed me that to diagnose the problem, it would be about 4 hours at $169 per hour (another RED FLAG); it does not take that long to put a vehicle on the machine to find out the problem. I thought all along that was what was being done. I was told that she would text me some papers to sign to give them permission to do the diagnostic, and I agreed for only 1 hour at $169.

I called back on day 3 for more updates; ** informed me that my vehicle was still waiting to be diagnosed and that it would not be done until the following Monday because of Thanksgiving and that they are not open on weekends. The shop is open at 7:30 am, and a message was left on my phone at 5:47 am telling me that she had new information on my vehicle (REALLY!). If the shop is open at 7:30 am, how could they have information about my vehicle before that time? (RED FLAG.)

I called the shop just to be told that I would have to pay $1195.00 for them to diagnose my transmission. At this point, I told ** that I would be coming for my vehicle. I requested a printout for the diagnostic they claimed was done. I went home and viewed it, only to find out that nothing was done, and they dated the paper for day number 2, even though they initially told me that nothing could have been done until Monday. I called and spoke to **, who was very rude and hung up the phone on me. They also deliberately broke my key fob, and now I can open or close the door of my vehicle unless I remove the key from the fob. I took my vehicle to another shop, and I got the problem fixed for only $125. The problem was just the transmission pressure switch. I would advise everyone to get a second or even a third opinion. And please be aware of AAMCO. They are not truthful and will lie to you just to get your money.

Towed my vehicle to AAMCO on Aug 7, 2024 because it had stalled on an intersection. I have a professional scanner & read a simple code for a neutral switch be out of circuit. They promote free diagnosis but then called me & advised it was going to be an electrical problem and was going to be 2 hour charge @$140 per hour for electrical diagnosis. Then called & advised it was a crankshaft sensor @$60 plus 1 hour of labor. Then advised starter had burned (which they had burned) & needed a new starter @$350 plus 2 hours of labor. Later, they called saying that there was damage in the engine & needed a new engine @$9,500 for the engine plus $2,500 to install putting me @ $12,000+. After that, I was frustrated, disappointed, disgusted with their misdiagnosis and called their office wanting to speak with the manager; who returned my call the following day.

After a 30 minute conversation of him trying to persuade me of how honest and hard they work and initially he stated there was pages of diagnostic codes my vehicle had & images used with a borescope to look into the engine (all which were never showed to me), it was agreed that I would be able to tow away my vehicle out of their shop at no cost; since there was no fix. However, I had to spend $450 on a new starter that they had burned by kept on cranking it until it burned and tow fees. Initially their front desk person Lied to me, telling me they no longer had my original starter because it was traded in as a core. However, after the long conversation with their manager he finally said my starter was there & will give it to me.

Took vehicle to a mechanic referred by my father-in-law & after disassembling the engine, realized that there was no damage whatsoever in the the engine. Then, looked elsewhere to troubleshoot and saw alternator which was what created the initial issue and it would have been just a simple fix if AAMCO's mechanic were looking in the right direction or if they weren't trying to rip me off with a brand new engine & labor cost & still wouldn't have fix the issue. I am writing this to make you all are aware of their dishonesty, incompetence, & how they prey on people.

I took my truck a 2000 GMC Sierra to Aamco. They did their check telling me the problem was inside the tranny and I had to pay a drop fee for them to take it out and put it in. They said my transmission needed rebuilt and that would cost almost $8,000. I said I will pass in that and asked if the price can go lower. They said they will call me back and hung up. Then I found a transmission that was perfectly fine when it was pulled out of another truck and I took it to Aamco. They said it would be $4,000 to put it in so I said okay. They called me when it was in and said it was a broken transmission. They did not put a warranty on it and when I went and picked it up and was driving home my truck still only had first gear and reverse like they never put the new transmission in. DO NOT GO TO AAMCO. I understand that you want me to rephrase and correct the text you provided. Please allow me to paraphrase it for you. I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received from AAMCO at 202 Racetrack Rd NE, Ft Walton Beach, FL 32547. On June 15th, 2023, I brought my car to your store to fix a battery issue. However, I received a call a few hours later saying that my motor mounts were severely damaged and needed to be replaced immediately. I was quoted $657.27 over the phone, with the assurance that the job would be completed on the same day. Later that day, I got another call telling me that my control arm had been broken during the repair, and the car would not be ready that day. I picked up my car the next day, and I thought the issue had been resolved. However, during a recent inspection at Fort Walton Radiator & Air, I was informed that my motor mounts still needed replacement.

I immediately brought the car back to AAMCO and expressed my concern. They asked me to bring it back the next day. I took the day off from work, and when I brought it in, they told me that they only replaced two of the four motor mounts because only two were bad. I spoke to Danny at Fort Walton Radiator & Air, who was surprised that AAMCO said the two extremely bad motor mounts weren't in that condition at the time of service. He also said that if two motor mounts had failed, any reputable shop would replace all four. After speaking with Danny and another shop, I believe that all four motor mounts were 100% gone at the time of the June 15th service. However, only two of them were replaced, and the job was left half-done due to the expenses associated with replacing the control arm.

DO NOT GO TO AAMCO TRANSMISSIONS. On 9/6/21, I was driving around Boise, ID delivering vehicle parts as a full-time job in my 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sport when my transmission goes out. Irritating, but the transmission did have 113,970 miles on it. I knew by the way the Jeep was driving that the transmission was going to need an overhaul, or replacement so I nursed it to AAMCO Transmissions on Fairview Ave.

I remember when I dropped off my Jeep, I pleaded with the manager to get it fixed as soon as possible because I couldn’t earn a paycheck until it was done this being my only vehicle. Strike one. I did not receive a phone call to update me on the problem, what time frame to expect, or the cost, until seven days later to tell me my vehicle was ready to be picked up.

When I pick my Jeep up on 9/13/21, he tells me the transmission was a total loss and had to be replaced. He briefly went over the bill and 18 month/18,000 mile warranty with me, then rang me up for $3,026.80. If I am delivering car parts for a full-time job, I am sure it is obvious how much that set me back. My only positive thought at the time was this should be the last transmission expense for a very long time, if not for the lifetime of the Jeep.

For the next two years, the use of the Jeep has been very mild. I have driven to and from work which is three miles away, to the grocery store, and two trips to the campgrounds around Arrowrock Reservoir. Nothing punishing to the transmission whatsoever and never once did I even put it into four-wheel drive. On November 30, 2023, I left work, jumped in my Jeep, started the engine and immediately got this horrible whine coming from the transmission. I thought maybe it was the cold causing it. It was a very cold morning, and it was barely above freezing when I left work. As I drove home, the transmission slipped several times causing the engine to rev up. I could not stop thinking “this could not be the transmission going out. It is barely two years old”.

The next morning, I had to nurse my Jeep to the nearest AAMCO Transmissions which was luckily only two miles away. I was confident that this very expensive repair was not going to fall on me because the transmission had to be still under warranty that AAMCO was “known for”. When I arrived AAMCO Transmissions on Fairview in Boise, I told the manager what was going on and he sent a mechanic out to test drive my Jeep. The Jeep didn’t make it out of the parking lot because it was slipping so badly. The mechanic came back into the shop and I overheard him tell the manager “that transmission is smoked… and it has been smoked for a while because you can smell burning transmission fluid”.

When the manager re-approached me at the counter, I handed him my warranty paperwork, billing invoice, and receipt for $3,026.80 that I had paid this same shop just twenty-two months before and said “I hope you guys guarantee your work”. He looked over my paperwork for a quick five seconds and said my Jeep was “out of warranty” but not to worry because he was going to try and save me money wherever he could. He further made the comment that “even though my warranty expired, he prefers happy customers over angry ones”.

The odometer on my Jeep at the time of drop off was 122,423. That’s only 8,453 miles on the transmission that this shop bought and installed just 22 months ago. I was still in warranty by 9,547 miles, but out of warranty by eight months. On 12/12/23 (twelve days later), I had not received any type of call, or text telling me when to expect my Jeep back, or estimate on the bill, when I finally get a text early afternoon that my Jeep was finished. To break this down further… that’s twelve days of having to Uber to and from work.

When I get to AAMCO Transmissions on Fairview Ave. in Boise, the manager tells me it was not the transmission that failed, but the torque converter. He said the torque converter was under warranty through the guy he buys them from, and the guy agreed to cover the cost of the part. I was charged $1,758.20 for labor, $298.00 for parts, $75.00 for supplies, and $22.38 tax for a total of $2,153.58. It’s only my opinion, but I feel the manager really missed out on an opportunity for good customer service. The parts and labor he is supposed to guarantee only lasted 8,453 miles and he still happily charged me $2,153.58. Transmissions are supposed to last the lifetime of the vehicle. Take your vehicle somewhere else.

Due to our warranty Aamco is the shop used so we have no choice in the matter unfortunately. Since purchasing our vehicle we have had it in the Council Bluffs, IA Aamco location twice. Each time we are told our vehicle will be done in a bout a week (this has not been true EVER)! We also live an hour away from CB and both work out of town from where we live so having one vehicle is a huge pain and costs a ton in gas! The first time it took a MONTH to get our vehicle back and this time it has been 3 weeks so far.

Again, we were told each time it would be about a week due to the work being done, but every time we call they have a new excuse for why it's going to take longer and longer, just today it was because people call in and don't show up. This is NOT the consumer's problem. This is due to Aamco hiring LAZY MORONS to work for them. I cannot stress how much I hate this location and maybe they are not all like this but each time for us has been a huge nightmare! DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE IF YOU CAN AVOID IT!

I will spare the long drawn out account with a somewhat brief summary of what occurred. Took my truck to Vineland AAMCO back in February of 2023 because it was leaking oil/fluid. They repaired it, I paid my bill, entered my vehicle & discovered a host of new problems which weren’t present when I dropped it off for a leak repair.

I never even made it out of the shops parking lot(after the first round of repairs). Mind you this is after 3 test drive sessions (according to head mechanic) prior to me paying for my original repairs. Once I realized my truck was not only “not fixed”, but new damages were present, I asked for my payment to be refunded until my truck was properly fixed… they denied my request, & insisted I needed a new rear differential to remedy the new problems which were a result from the original repair. (Can’t make this stuff up!)

I allowed the differential to be installed. When complete, I paid my bill & entered my vehicle & to my disbelief, the same problems they created during the original repair were still present. This is after I was assured the rear differential would remedy all those issues. Long story short, I begin my drive home & my truck dies on the side of the road, less than 5 miles from the shop after paying $3,400 in repairs. They insisted I bring it back so they could “make it right” however, I refused further service from this establishment because they’ve made their inabilities, incompetence & shady dealings apparent.

Sometime around 6/2023, I took them to small claims court, presented my case, & the judge ruled in my favor. As of 12/1/2023 They (Vineland Aamco) has continued to make no effort whatsoever to comply with, or honor any of the legal filings & or rules as they pertain & refuses to pay the judgement. I Also found out that the used rear differential they claim was used & “sold to me” was actually my own existing rear differential they never replaced yet they claimed they did ($800 part I paid for). They Just cleaned it up & put some bright yellow part #’s on it to make it appear as if it (the old one) were swapped out.

My vehicle is on its third replacement transmission within a 17-month time span and my wife's vehicle on its first replacement transmission after having a transmission installed last year (2022). June 2023 had both our vehicles needing replacement transmissions at the same time - leaving us with no means of transportation. The corporate office could not be bothered with my inquiries regarding a possible transportation arrangement at the company's expense. The local office said they had no authority. In each case, there was a wait of three weeks, or longer, for a transmission job from a company who advertises transmissions as their specialty first with 'expert technicians who fix it right the first time." I am deeply heated over what is not a phenomenon (1x), or a coincidence (2x), but a pattern of failed services and concern with over-the-top inconvenience and lack of concern by company.

A month later same problem so we had it towed back to them. After a couple of days he was able to pick up the truck but once he got home, same problem but this time transmission fluid poured out in both ours and our neighbors driveways. My husband cleaned all of it up and gave them the bill that they didn’t pay in full leaving us to eat the rest. After a couple of days again he was able to pick the truck up but all lights on the dashboard were on.

The lights were never on before and the supervisor knew this and told us to make the repairs and he would reimburse us as these are areas of the vehicle they don’t know how to repair. It took a few months due to my husband and I being on disability but once all those repairs were completed and the bill was presented, the supervisor did not reimburse. We called corporate office and they were no help either. I feel very disrespected and recommend any and all to rethink going to the L St AAMCO location. Especially if you are ** race.

We have had a terrible experience with the Lakewood, WA location. Breach of contract and loss of use as a direct result of the poor service and long wait times for communication and work to be done. This location also reported the incorrect odometer reading to Carfax causing our vehicle to be red flagged for potential odometer rollback as well as causing devaluation. The first time we brought our truck to this location was 10/08/21. They installed a transmission for us after the assessment that ours could not be rebuilt. We picked it up a couple of weeks later and by 11/04/21 the newly installed transmission failed and it needed to be towed back to Aamco. Again, we waited some time and drove away with what we thought was a truck made whole again.

On 12/22/22, the 2nd transmission failed. This time we had it towed to the Vancouver WA location due to proximity and the frustration with the service in Lakewood. During the next (2) weeks, it took several calls and in person visits to get them to give the authorization and order for yet another transmission as the Vancouver location was not able to warranty work done elsewhere. The vehicle was not completed until 01/26/23.

During this whole process, we have continuously been given the run around and been given information which we found to be incorrect. The customer service was incredibly unprofessional and rude at the desk in the Lakewood location. The authorization and ordering of the 3rd transmission should not have taken anywhere near 2 weeks. We were very grateful that someone along the way put a rush on our order and it did not take the full 3 weeks as it usually does one built and shipped. The poor service has taken place on several occasions and we want others to be well aware of what they are getting into when this Lakewood, WA location.

In order to save you time if you're reading this, I will just give you the facts related to my recent (12/19/22- 12/23/22) experience.

Monday am: Drop my vehicle off (2007 Chevy Malibu with over 170k miles) due having issues. I'm told are probably related to my transmission per another source.

Tuesday: They call me and say they ran the basic transmission diagnostics and cannot find what's wrong and can call me tomorrow but stated they needed $895.00 to drop the transmission to diagnose. They cannot diagnose the issue OR give any kind of quote for price unless they do so. That 895.00 will be used as credit for repair though. They do not give any indication that it will be a large job, etc.

Wed. afternoon: Call to say I need a total transmission replacement (metal pieces breaking off from wear-and -tear that also ruined electronic piece). Job was initially quoted close to $3,800 with taxes, etc. but can go down to a flat $3,600. I ask to think about it overnight (as my vehicle is a 2007 Chevy Malibu with 173,000 miles). I state my concern is that it is an old car and that is a huge repair cost- they try to state it would be worth it.

Thursday: I decline to get the transmission job because it does NOT make sense to invest in this vehicle or at least that amount of money (probably ever). They state they have looked up a used-part option and quote at $2,900 today. Also mention a payment plan that I can pay $300/mo for the next year...lol. They state they will try to have my car ready by the next day but not sure if they can and I will still be CHARGED $895 FOR THE SERVICE "REMOVE, DISASSEMBLE AND INSPECT TRANSMISSION" (PER MY INVOICE).

Friday: Pick up my car they had for 4 days and get charged $895.00 (still declining transmission replacement). They most likely are playing on SUNK COSTS when someone does not want to lose the $895.00 they invested/put down so they will spend ANOTHER $2,000 for repairs. I have no doubt they have to pay people for work, etc. but THAT IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE DIAGNOSTIC TEST I HAVE EVER HEARD OF/HAD. Predatory behavior? You be the judge. HAPPY HOLIDAYS! I hope this helps someone.

I went to AAMCO to have my truck looked at on 07-18-2021. I dropped my truck off after I was told that they would diagnose the problem. I got a call on 07/30 2021 a week later and they said it would be fixed but the inspection that was supposed to be free ended up costing me 358.00 dollars which I was never told, so I ended up letting them fix the truck and it cost me 1022.00 dollars.

After fixing the cut off valves and stopping circulation of fuel going to the back tank of my truck I drove for one day and noticed that it wasn’t running good so I took it back to aamco. Left it there and they ran a pressure check and told me the fuel pressure was good. Come to find out I had to park the truck on AUGUST 3 2021 and because of the work they did to my truck was in even worse shape than it was when I took it there to be fixed. The only problem with the truck is a common problem with that year and when I brought it to them it was running fine and I just wanted them to fix the problem with the fuel running out of the rear tanks cap randomly.

I waited about a month or two and finally decided to take it to Tire kingdom around 10-9-2-21 around the beginning of October because I didn’t trust AAMCO after the first and second time. Tire Kingdom diagnosed the problem. Replaced the front fuel pump and the truck was running perfect. I drove the truck for a week and that Sunday I noticed fuel leaking out of the back fuel tank cap again. It looked like the same problem AAMCO said they fixed had started up again. So I took it back on Nov 2 2021 to AAMCO to see what happened to the work they did and had a 1 year warranty.

In the process of talking to the guy at the counter the mechanic that worked on my truck kept making smart remarks at me which is what I considered disrespectful and unprofessional. I let it go for the time being left my truck there to be looked at. I was told Nov 6 2021 that without looking at the truck the mechanic was saying that when tire kingdom replaced the front fuel pump that they ripped out the work AAMCO did and I felt he said that because of the shoddy work he did in the first place trying to put the blame on someone else. So I went to tire kingdom and talked to them about what they were being accused of and felt that after talking to them being that when I first got the truck 2 years I put a new fuel pump in it myself and had no problems.

So I go back to AAMCO after they assumed that tire kingdom removed their work so the mechanic says. When I get there I go to look at the problem and notice that the mechanic is saying that the shut off valve is in one of the lines going to the fuel pump. So I try to tell the mechanic. I find it hard to believe that the valves are in one of the 3 lines going to the fuel pump and I’m willing to show him proof. He told me he was a mechanic and to shut up. After looking at the work that was done by tire kingdom and noticed that he didn’t pull the lines apart to even see if the lines were damaged.

After paying 1022.00 to get my truck fixed, I wanted to know why I was still having the same problems after the valves and new lines were installed by aamco. In the process of having this discussion with the mechanic the situation started to get heated and we started having words back and forth and he told me to get the ** out of his shop. I was very frustrated because I trusted aamco with fixing my truck and it was still not fixed. Now I’m stuck with a lost of 1022.00 dollars which is not easy to come by in this time of covid and my truck still isn’t fixed sitting in the driveway waiting for work under warranty to be fixed. You would think that customer service is important but apparently to them that isn’t never going to happen.

Note if you want your car fixed right and not be ripped off and if you GET ripped off don’t call corporate in Pennsylvania P.A. They will find any excuse to get out of addressing the truth to protect themselves from taking the blame for mechanics not qualified to fix your car or horrible customer service which is displayed at the AAMCO in Orange park FL technician ** and the service supervisor **. Claim against Donald ** Aamco West Broward

For background I'm a 65 year old, motorhead, a pilot, owned, flew, and maintained 3 of my own aircraft, numerous motorcycles, jet boats, snowmobiles and other vehicles, take care if my things, very familiar with what this job I asked Don to do, but am older now, only tinker now on easy jobs, but otherwise am very capable mechanically, have factory manuals for this car, which were given to Don but ignored, saying he knew proper procedures, and here we are.

Without this experience and background with vehicles and aircraft, I would have been vulnerable, to how I believe, many shops defraud customers, and don't stand behind warranty, hoping customers will become discouraged, and just pay and pay and pay to get the car back, with no other choice. I can usually work things out, when a shop makes a mistake, there is no need for a federal case like this, but Don is not a reasonable man, despite my extreme patience, cost, Lee and Mike at corporate trying to resolve. Am aware it is not within your power to compensate me for anything other than paid to Don but it is all pertinent. And some of this is more than you require but will use this letter as a template, if needed for other agencies.

At The end of 2019, I brought my car to Don. I have not had use of the car since, except for diagnosing and as per Don, breaking in the clutch, that Don said numerous times is the cause, that I knew, and we verified independently now, has never been the issue. Came in for regular maintenance, had no issues, other than clutch pedal hydraulics, regular maintenance items, Craig drove the car before work started. I chose Aamco for nationwide warranty, as at time, was going back on road, before Mother got sick and has since passed.

Car was returned 3 times, to Don with the problem that it did not have, when brought in, as Craig confirmed before work started. Rattling, and grinding vibrations in shifter and pedal. Don blamed everything but his work, faulty parts, clutch break in many times, and finally transmission, which he tried so hard to convince me was a problem.

I knew it wasn't, but he did remove tranny from car twice, and never said word about it having a problem, until third time in, when took car partially apart again, did not address rattling, grinding vibration, and wanted to charge me 1400 for this tear down so, blamed on tranny, holding car hostage, for 1400 approx, but because it was on a needed lift, and refused my fair offer, to rebuild tranny, but my requiring him to stand behind his work, refused to reimburse me, if not the issue, told me to think about it. Had this conversation a couple times, stating Aamco does not refund money, which is not Aamco policy, because he is independent, and can, if wishes to.

Some time later Don wanted my address to send the car to, under threat of storage, stating was not going to fix the problem, or the damage that he once agreed to repair, and admitted occured by stating he looked for parts for the repairs, nor would he be willing to consider a reasonable resolution. Told Don to send to dealer, to look at the harmonic balancer Craig damaged, and admitted that he bent, and is noted on work order, it was in front of the engine, which should never have been touched, and cannot be driven, and is catastrophic when it fails and is a very delicate, highly engineered part, critical to engine health, that spins at up to 8000 rpm.

Dealer replaced it for 1100, just one more expense this man has caused me. Took car home. Have estimated 1500 to repair other damage, suspension boots torn during disassembly, observed during one of my visits, failing to lubricate newly installed swing arm bushings, also observed on visit, despite email from Don stating would repair, then reversed stating Craig, the same mechanic that caused the damage, showed it to me, said he learned his lesson, will never do it again, now thinks balancer is now, ok, likely fearful for losing job. Approx 1k to bring a car out of retirement for transportation. Approx 1100 insurance on second car. Started pleading with the corporate for help again.

Mike at corporate, has been updated by texts, and voicemails, and finally, sent me to Lee, at another aamco, who once owned the exact same model of car, is familiar with it, has 3 shops and more experienced, to diagnose and possibly mediate. Lee is vastly more experienced in this field, while Don is a recent shop owner with no background repairing vehicles, Only parts sales. Diagnosed torque tube replacement needed, offered to fix, said would contact Don and see what could work out. Don would not pay for, after 3 ways back and forth over a couple weeks, with Don dragging his feet, even after verifying Don's work is not acceptable and slipshod at very least. Took car home again.

Finally a week or so later, spoke to Don face to face, at his shop. Him suggesting I bring car back, or take to another shop, hoping I will just go away, still ignoring Lee's diagnosis, saying it's transmission again, asked how we come to a resolution, and, what happens if after he works on again if still not correct, and said he did not know, if would stand behind the warranty. Became very agitated, shaking accused me of trespassing, threatened with police so I left. New employee, a very young male at the desk, witnessed this, name unknown.

Also before I was thrown out, a customer who happened to bring his Cadillac back for the 4th time, and complaining of only a 30 day warranty was talking with me. Have his number. If I paid to rebuild the transmission, and of course, it didn't cure the issue, and I was naive, trusting and unsuspecting, I would not have been reimbursed, as he stated, I would not be, feel strongly he would then want to rebuild the engine next if I was that gullible.

Utterly irresponsible, and I did not approve any work, outside of accepted procedures that ASE, and the manufacturer instructed, in manuals that I left there, but were ignored, along with procedures that any reasonably qualified mechanic would follow. Discussed before work started and assured me he didn't need anything from me. Can only estimate, how for instance, jacking in front of the engine, on harmonic balance, impacted the belt, engine internals, or at very least diminished potential, for a reliable engine, for many more miles, and impossible to calculate future expense. Completely irresponsible for ASE trained mechanic.

Lee's secretary Sierra gave me estimate, copy included here, 2300 for parts only, not labor, will be at least another 2k, as is customary these days 50/50 parts and labor, and as Lee was in hospital and did not wish to cause him more concern.with work. Still do not have use of this vehicle, except limited driving when

returned to me, with damages and new issues, but not of any real use, still has to be repaired, likely 6k plus with ball joint boots. I needed car, so I repaired my mother's old car, needed an engine mount and tires, alignment, oil change, radiator work, power steering work, to be able to use it.

    Summary

20 months without my car. 3 trips to Aamco West Broward. 1 trip to another AAmco more experienced, confirming faulty repairs, and trying to mediate per corporate. Approx 4k spent with AAmco West Broward, you have charges on my credit card. At least 6k will be required for repairs to restore car to condition

was in, when brought to this shop. 1100 spent at dealer, repair harmonic balancer damaged, have cc charges Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet. This damage should not have happened, using the front of the engine as a jacking point, to align the driveline during assembly, is not a reasonable, or remotely approved procedure by any means, resulting in damaged harmonic balance, stressed motor mounts, crankshaft, crank shaft seals.

Couple points that also tell tale of how this shop is operated. Asked specifically and nicely, that no more grease was transferred onto seats, than what already occured first time in shop, but was ignored, more transferred each time went in. Also last time the car was test driven, my obd tracker alerted me to being driven extremely hazardously, with severe acceleration and braking events, and a 100 mph speed reached during rush hour traffic, with of course the damaged balancer in front of the engine. Apparently wasn't aware of the device in the car. Completely irresponsible, negligent, abusive, to treat a customer car this way. Don was totally unconcerned, and ambivalent with no comment. After all his attempts to sell me a transmission, I believe he was trying to break something to prove his point, and would not put it past him, in my experience. If Don wasn't aware, just another example with how this shop operates.

In the interest of full disclosure, I did receive oil change, sway bar link installation, tick bleeder, while in this shop and have no dispute with, other than returning the car without lubricating links, which I hope are not too damaged, that I had to ask twice for them to do. If you could only drive, and listen to the racket, grinding, and feel the vibration in pedals, getting worse, after 4 trips to shop, if count Lee trying to help, plus dealer, can see that I have been extremely patient with Don over the past 20 months, this even while caring for my mother in hospice care, here in her home. I have a video of the transmission noises that will assist you. Another impact on me, that this negligent business owner has imposed on me, is that these cars are collectible, and value is based almost solely on condition, damage and accident history. This negligence has eroded the value of this car.

I had a transmission replaced by an AAMCO dealer in Charlotte NC and I thought the price was excessive but let it go. Needed the certain mileage check up and was advised I could go to the Gastonia NC shop. Owners were very nice and after checking I was advised I needed plugs and plug wires. It sounded reasonable because of the way it was running. I had a regular mechanic 4 to 5 miles closer but thought because they were so nice I would let them do it. I know the local area labor rates because I have worked in the parts industry there for several years. They charged me $30 at least per hour above the average labor rates and job should not have taken over an hour yet charged me an hour and a half. My guess is all aamco dealership rates are outrageous. Save your money and go to a nonchain mechanic.

This AAMCO is a "Fraud", I went there based on the name and business reputation it once had, which was Highly respected and stood behind its work, they treated customers like a person, and I noticed they did payments/Installments on account. I was asked to do a finance application, But I told the acting manager, Mike, I was not interested in finance, and wanted to put most of the amount down and make installments till debt was paid and provided everything. Went as stated and according to mechanic work/performance. No longer the case now. My SUV is parked outside across the street, in same condition it was in when I started out to get it repaired, Broke, not working and sitting in one spot. I'm currently out $2800.00 plus four tow services and I had a balance of $260.00. Let's discuss the payments.!!

I have been returning the vehicle to be repaired. A week after I got it back in June of 2020 and every week till March of 2021. I have been insisting they look under the body at the transmission, that it should not be doing the very thing I brought in to be repaired. The transmission, stalling, going in reverse, or forward the N&D are stuck and lights blinking. If there was a short warranty they should of been on top of it out of the gate (Day one!) rebuilt or new. Mike says over the phone in March of 2021 that as long as payments were due on account the warranty would not kick in, but even if I paid off the small amount that the warranty had expired. I told him he was stupid and that was not true, that even the corporate's office, customer service stated (Donna?) that the standard warranty on rebuilt or used was one year..

He is full of you know and I scooped like a dog trying to get my vehicle repaired. As Brian asked me what I wanted for my crap to work, to get what I paid for, which is for a rebuilt transmission to work. I know I'm phoning the Maaco parts company which is part owned by the Aamco corp. to find out what has happened. I know once there's a class action against this company. I'm there. "Oh"! I have the proof, I have the receipts. Proof, like recordings, emails, statements, witnesses, the vehicle that's broke down.

I'm, taking a bus because I trusted this shady company. Like others I've read, Bill C., Sassy C. they're crooked and if the state continues to allow this they're no better. "Yes I turned this location in to the Federal Trade con, a fraud has occurred against me, against you the public. BBB, Consumer protection, if they allow this to continuously go overlooked, who are the protecting, certainly not the public. We're "foo foo the fools". We gave this business our trust, "our money" we could of used on something else. Money we worked for and look..

I am so upset at myself for thinking I made a wise choice in selecting this company, this company will fail and I'll be there with smile on. 'Brain & Mike part owner I found out? reading know they should refund our money. Until someone does something to make a stand they'll keep committing fraud, with no repercussion. I'm out of a vehicle and trying to get my money back to go anywhere else but aamco. I encourage everyone to write letters, comments to ATG, federal trade comm., BBB. They can't allow this to continue the hurt they have caused so many of us. Money we are out. I'll never do business here again nor encourage others. Poor business practice. I brought my vehicle, a 2014 Nissan Murano, into the AAMCO location at 845 N Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL on December 19, 2020. When dropping off the vehicle I told the manager on duty what problems I was experiencing. Car over revving, almost up to 5,000 RPMs, very low transmission fluid possibly due to a leak, and unable to accelerate. I was told that his personnel would be able to look at the vehicle on Monday and ascertain the problem/solution.

I was called on Monday or Tuesday and was informed that my car's transmission had failed and required a rebuild. Perhaps that determination was made based on the fact that Nissan acknowledged a nationwide problem with their CVT transmissions in 2016 and ultimately doubled the vehicle warranties to 10 yr/120,000 miles versus 5/60. I cannot verify the initial findings. I was not going to question the findings or the solution based on the transmission history I acquired from Nissan. I told them to please make the repairs in an expeditious manner, as I was renting a vehicle at a cost of almost $500/wk due to it being during the holiday season.

I was called in the first week of January 2021 and informed my vehicle was finally repaired and the total cost was $4,638.98. I had already been informed of the approximate cost prior to repairs. I picked up the vehicle on January 7, 2021. Fast forward to yesterday, February 2, 2021. On my way back from Miami my car started over revving and losing acceleration, the exact same symptoms which brought me to AAMCO in the first place. I called the shop and was told to bring in the vehicle in the morning (today).

Imagine my shock when I was told that the cause of the problem was a leak of transmission fluid from the transmission line going into the radiator, and now the radiator needs to be replaced due to the fact this line is part of the radiator and not the transmission, at an additional cost to me. I informed them that this was/is a pre-existing condition, and this was the reason my vehicle was brought to their repair shop in December in the first place. Same exact conditions and performance factors in December and yesterday. They have denied that this is any of their responsibility and it is completely up to me.

They had me sign a waiver that the radiator requires replacement and if the fitting (which they say they tightened/repaired) leaks again and damages the transmission, AAMCO WILL NOT cover the transmission under the original warranty agreement. Then today I go to leave my home and my car is dead. Come to find out that after they removed and replaced my car battery, they never tightened one bolt on the battery terminals, so they were making no connection to power the car. NEVER GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT, EVER!

Ron the Manager of AAMCO @Grand Ave/134th Dr & Bell Rd. seemed like an upfront guy at first, but once he had possession of my car then came the Demon. I took my car in to learn that an $800 dollar "Valve Body Job" would most likely solve my problem. After which it had sat at the shop for three weeks before they even started working on it. I had called them and went in several times to request an ETA to no avail. At one time he was boldened enough to tell me "What do you expect? The car is broken". On the third week I received a call from Ron that they will have my car ready before COB that day. Ron proceeded to tell me that he needed to find a receipt of an additional part that my car needed and that he would add that to the cost of my bill.

When I arrived to get my car out I viewed the bill (which was just a hair under a $1000 dollars). The additional part was listed on the bill. I then asked to see the receipt for that part in which he previously claimed he had to find before adding it to my bill. He then got belligerent with me. While he was briefly in the process of searching for the receipt that he ultimately couldn't come up with. He was then quite perturbed and decided that he would not take any of my credit cards and insisted that I pay cash. He then instructed his guys to impound my car in a brick wall storage yard that was just across to the front of his office. Nonetheless it took me several weeks before I could raise the cash to get my oiled stained dirt ridden car out. To my worst nightmare, after paying close to $1000 my car still has the same problem as before.

Warranty or not do I dare take my car back to them to honor that warranty to lose it for another month or possibly have another $1000 bill and risk not having the transmission repaired at all. This forced me to take my car to the dealer to have it properly repaired. The dealer informed me that the transmission was un-repairable and that it needed to have the transmission replaced, which cost me an additional $3000 to fix it correctly. What's so obvious is if you've ever been to this AAMCO shop it looks like a salvage yard with what appears to be abandoned dirt ridden cars strewn up and down the lot, to a point where it doesn't afford any parking space. You can verify that on Google Map. I guess I'm not the only one to have had my car impounded by Ron's mischievous acts of terror. WARNING TO THE WISE - Don't get caught in Ron's trap…Said the Spider to the Fly. I'll see you in COURT Ron!

November 9th, 2020 Aamco analyzed my 09 Honda Pilot due to front end vibrations. The vibrations were felt during acceleration, mostly between the speeds of 40-55mph. After analyzing the transmission externally, Aamco said they needed to go inside the transmission to determine the issue. Labor would have to be charged for this. I gave them consent. The cost was approximately $130.

After analyzing the transmission internally Aamco said no transmission issues. They diagnosed the vehicle's transfer case as the part causing the vibrations. My initial decision was to pick up the vehicle to take elsewhere because they could not confirm being able to fix the current part and they wanted to charge $750 to open the transfer case for a diagnosis. A manager by the name of Luke called me saying instead of fixing he could just replace the part for $1500. Luke assured me that replacing the transfer case would fix the problem and that he was confident this was the problem. Because of my reluctance I later called back and asked Luke to complete the job for $1300 instead of $1500. Luke agreed. I also asked for a completion date. I was told by Mon or Tue at the latest (16th or 17th).

Mon, Nov 16th I called to find out if the job was complete. I was told they were waiting for the part. I expressed that it had been a week and I was expecting the vehicle back by Tue at the latest. We were paying for a rental but a family member was also scheduled for surgery on Wed. We needed the vehicle for transport. The man at the front desk shared his empathy. Aamco said they would do everything they could to have the vehicle back by Tue.

Tue, Nov 17th I called Aamco in the morning to confirm the vehicle would be finished. I was told they are doing all they can to have the vehicle ready that same day. At approx. 2pm I received a call from Aamco stating, "Mr. **, we were able to get it done in time for you." I was not impressed with that presentation considering I had been without my vehicle for over a week.

At approx. 4:30pm my wife and I arrived at Aamco to pick up the vehicle. They again confirmed the problem was resolved. They said they even test drove the vehicle to make sure. At approx. 4:45pm we left Aamco. My wife was driving the Pilot. At approx. 4:50pm My wife called me frustrated because the vibrations were still glaringly present. At approx. 4:55pm I called Aamco expressing my concern that the problem was not resolved. I was told to bring the vehicle back the next day or the day after so they could look at the vehicle again. I mentioned that we would need to work something out on financing since they are already expecting $1300 but did not fix the problem. I was told we would figure everything out.

Thursday, November 19th my wife and I dropped off the pilot at Aamco to be re-evaluated. Friday comes and goes. I hear nothing. Sat around 12 noon I called after not hearing from them. I was told they were still looking into it but it looks like the axle hang bearing was the problem. They needed more time to get the part and confirm. I asked why this wasn't identified before the transfer case. I was told it was complex because the two parts are so close together. Fast forward to today, 11/24. I call for an update after days of silence. I am told the cost will be $1100 to replace the part. I rejected and told them they are at fault for improperly diagnosing the issue.

I was then told by Alan that he had pictures of the first part that was replaced to prove it was broken. When I later asked for those pictures Alan retracted his statement saying he did not have pictures and he, “may or may not” have the part anymore. Alan said he would only show me pictures if I gave him the second job. Alan also told me it was my fault for not reading the invoice. This is faulty logic because the invoice was provided to me after the work was done. The agreement to do the work happened over the phone in which I was never presented with all the options. I was told one thing and something else happened.

I picked up my vehicle and expressed my frustration with the quality of workmanship and being misled. This place was dishonest. This entire process has been shady. One game after the next with no resolve. This Aamco location clearly cares nothing about the business customer relationship. No customer should be subject to this type of treatment.

AAMCO at 2727 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale AZ, 85257 (Old Town or South Scottsdale). Short Answer: Initially, I was going to give this AAMCO several stars but after a follow up telephone call the following morning to discuss a dashboard light, the manager went off on an angry tirade because I dared to question why the dash indicator was on immediately after he serviced it. The manager has a serious attitude problem. He kept referring to me as "you people." I never got to explain the nature of my request, which was to ask if the light was too serious to drive the car out of town for a few days. I was verbally abused by the manager for attempting to ask questions about what could possibly be wrong immediately after they serviced it. I cannot recommend this AAMCO in South Scottsdale.

Try the AAA Mechanics on McDowell RD at Miller. They seem competent with no chip on their shoulders. Longer Answer: I brought my car in for a transmission fluid change, which is around $250. The technicians found other issues with the suspension that needed repair to which I agreed. At that time I felt that I was being treated fairly. I got a call from the manager that the car was road tested and ready for pick up. I paid a little over $1700 for all the parts and labor. A little shocked but if it needed to be done and it was done correctly then I can accept it. The manager told me if any lights are on to bring the car back and they would get "right on it." I thought that was a weird thing to say as I paid for work already done. I started the car and its traction stabilization light was showing that there was a problem. I was in a hurry and couldn't spare the time to go back in to discuss the light at that point.

I called the next morning. I told the manager the light was on. He said, "Bring it in and we'll see what needs to be done". As I began to point out that AAMCO just returned the car to me at $1700 plus repairs, why would the light be on when I picked it up. I didn't get two words out when the manager lets into me about professional elites and how I would never let anyone question my service so how dare I question his operation. He said "we're the professionals not you." I let him tirade on for 30 or 40 seconds. At the end he said emphatically, "bring it in and we'll see what's wrong with it." I politely declined and disconnected the call. The workmanship seems adequate but the manager is bitter and abusive to customers who have questions about what things mean. I was looking to him for answers but instead was verbally abused over the phone. I cannot recommend this AAMCO in Scottsdale.

They are nice enough and do decent work but they overcharge by A LOT. I paid twice the amount I should have for my transmission. They make you pay $600 to tear down your tranny and then you are kind of stuck using them to fix it. They acted like I'd be saving money because they reassured me that I wouldn't need a new tranny (because they only do rebuilds which was not mentioned to me), so he made it seem like I would be shelling out less than I would for a new tranny. Wrong. I paid twice the amount I should have.

I was also told "you can take it somewhere else if you can even drive it off the lot." It was 100% driveable. I drove it in. Only issue was the reverse which was slow to engage but still engaged. They also use your state of grief to convince you to get the work done which is just beyond unethical. They use a script which matched what I was told (I found this out after I already had the work done.) Lesson learned from me. I wouldn't and can't recommend them. Take it somewhere else, even if you have to tow. Hopefully I have paid extra to save others from the same mistake.

I took my truck in and they screwed it up once took it back again for warranty work. They held it for a month fixed before they even touched it. Took almost 2 months to get my truck back to only have the original problem surface again. It went out about one month out of warranty and they wouldn’t fix it since they held it for a month when If they would of worked on it when they were supposed to it would of went out when it was still under warranty.

So they wanted paid again. But “worked on the price.” So 2,600 dollars to have it not fixed right and having to pay $1,800 to have it done again by my new mechanic so 4,400 to have a transmission done. Take whatever you need done else where. They used cheap parts that failed and could of ended drastically. They didn’t use the right tools, they used a hammer and a chisel to remove and reinstall the main shaft nut. The franchise is a joke I wouldn’t take anything to them unless you want to lose time and a lot of money.

    (Note from my mechanic)

Mainshaft nut was put on with chisel, counter shaft had no shim reverse idler was shimmed way too tight 5th and 6th gear mainshaft needed replaced as well as bearings and synchros and synchro gears 2 decent balls gone. Well guess what they kept the original motor in the truck and they told me they put the new one in but I put a mark on the motor to see if they changed it. Nope they put some new parts on the engine and said it the engine. Now they tell me that the universal joint was froze. That supposed to control my steering. As I looked at the engine it's got a old pump on there. It needed a new serpentine belt. They left that on there. Bottom line is that I'm very disappointed and dissatisfied with the work I received from them. I would not recommend that company to no one and on top of that they charged me 3000.00 dollars.

Stay Away for AAMCO Transmission 60th and L in Omaha Nebraska. I first took my car in to get fixed on January 10th 2021 to get a Transmission put in. Paid over $3000. Was going to get the reminder what was need to be fixed in the next week or so when I have additional funds to do so. I got my car back in by January 21. You're still acting up like nothing has been fixed. I contacted Jay (the agent that works the front counter) on the 21st. Jay said he was busy and would contact me the next day with prices. The next day came and went with no contact. I waited until January 23rd (again no contact from the 21st) to see AGAIN what it would cost to fix the solenoids! Yet again no response! Reached out again on January 24th. To my shock I finally get a response say he was in Chicago and will get me prices when he comes back on Monday!

Yet again no response and another 5 days go by. I reach out again to Jay on January 29th. Now jay is Conveniently in the hospital and yet again told he will get me prices. (Again I had already paid the money to have my car looked at on top over the $3000 plus dollars for the previous work.) I had no updates so on February 4th again reached out to jay. No response. Reached out again later that day. To my shock I got a response saying he is waiting on prices (really weeks later?) and he will call me. February 5 and 6 NO call back. Reached out again on the 7th. NO call back. Reached out again on February 10th. No response back. Reached out again on February 12th. Finally get a response saying I need to bring my car in so you can see what solenoid it is. When for weeks Jay has been saying he is waiting on prices.

Finally got my car in (almost a month later of being dismissed from Jay) and was told it's going to be another $1,300 that they need to order the parts and can get it in the shop on Monday February 24th. I said, "Are you able to do it all in one day. I work 6am to 3pm and then run straight to work to pick up my kid from school." I was told no problem. It takes 4 hours to work on it they will pick up my car from work and bring it back in plenty of time. Not only am I a single mom taking care of my son alone I have a father battling cancer that I take to his radiation appointments he has daily in the evening since they are open till 7pm. Jay told me to call him on my lunch which is between 1 and 2. Remind you I get off at 3pm.

When I call I'm told my car didn't get picked up till 11am and they didn't get back till 1pm to get looked at so I won't have my car when I get off work. Which means I have no way to get my child from school. I was told my car would be done before 5 pm to come on down. So I had to scramble to find a Uber since I was getting off work in an hour and the had to uber to get my kid and go home also. I find a ride to go pick up my car at 5 pm like I was told. Get a text at 4:48pm (while my ride is pulling into Aamco parking lot) jay said my car still wasn't done and they just realized 20 minutes ago they had the wrong parts. So yet again I'm having to take an Uber with my dad to get him to his treatments. Then I will have to Uber to work, after work to get my kid then Uber to get my car. If it's actually fixed this time and I get it back.

I would never recommend this place not even to my worst enemy. Jay It's completely, condescending lies, and goes back on what he said saying he never did that. That's why I have every Text message I could because I don't do business with him over the phone because he tries to pull fast ones on people. Stay away from this shady business.

We caught independent owner in lies. Wanted info on transmission (serial number etc) both corporate and franchisee refused to give it. Made me suspicious. Found out they buy their transmissions from a national owned salvage yard, no lie I have proof. Another shop informed us, we called and sure enough it's lkq transmission.

They were nice enough to send me the info. It took some doing though. The aamco warranty is actually through them. At least the local aamco did for ours. Come to find out, aamco doesn't remanufacture transmission as my invoice states.I've emailed corporate and local shop on same email numerous times asking if the transmission on my invoice is the one I bought and they won't reply. Blatant deceptive practice and actually criminally fraud. They count on people not having time and money to fight. It's a tangled web they weave. We have casted a wide net and we hope to have resolve to expose it. They won't stop cause it's right thing to do. Aamco's franchisees filed suit against aamco for prefatory, deceptive practices. Google it. I was reluctant to give specifics as I have proof they conspire to commit fraud.. They get info you have, build their lies around it.

I have two incidents that I need to make people aware of. My first encounter was when I had taken my 2007 Chevy Tahoe in that was leaking transmission fluid and also had a low oil pressure light coming on. They did the inspection and found that my transmission needed to be rebuilt and there was also a leaky main seal that needed to be changed. They did the repairs but it took them almost a month to complete. Once the work was complete it almost took an act of God to contact them for the pickup of the vehicle but I finally got it back.

The truck was running great until 6 months or so after. The oil pressure gauge was once again starting to drop just like before. Since the vehicle was still under warranty I hated to do it but I took it back to the same shop to check the issue. This time around I have had a worse experience with them. I took this vehicle in before Thanksgiving and it has been a living nightmare in trying to get a hold of them to find out what is going on. I finally talked to them a three weeks ago, and they told me that I needed some more work to be done that was not covered under the warranty. It's A NEW PROBLEM. I said OK and authorized them to check it out.

Apparently I need something called an Oil filter manifold. Two of them at that. I called a Chevy dealer, and they say that does not seem right. But just to see how far they would go I authorized the work. They told me the parts would be in last Friday. Well, it has been two weeks later and I keep trying to get a hold of someone to find out what is going on but once again I am getting the run around. I talked with someone today and asked for an update. They said they would contact the shop and have them call me back. Well guess what. I am still waiting. It has now been 5 weeks since I had my car. I hope that this note gets up to the corporate headquarters because this is not the way any business should run.

It was worse than when I brought it in and I got my vehicle back with my interior trashed with thick black grease in the carpet and a hole in my exhaust system. When I brought it back to them to correct the problem I was now quoted $995.00 plus parts. I wish I could say that it ended there.

When I went to pick up my vehicle approximately three weeks later the bill was over $3500.00 on top of the $600.00 I had paid just some information this is a vehicle with a book value of $2000. They took my vehicle for another two weeks and they refused to accept responsibility that they punctured my exhaust system. Once again my vehicle was returned and this time with my brakes barely functioning.

I will say Nina is very polite but please if you are looking for a shop to repair your vehicle a transmission or anything any repair shop will be better than the quality and workmanship you will receive from this AAMCO franchise. This is a big national franchise and I’m sure there may be some shops that do quality work but this is not one of them!!! One last thing. I brought my vehicle to a trusted mechanic to have my exhaust and my brakes repaired and the mechanic called me into the shop under my vehicle to look at the transmission that is leaking transmission fluid and he pointed out to me the bolts on the transmission pan still have grease and sand on them. They have never been taken off. He laughed and said to me nobody ever rebuilt my transmission.

Hello again This is Juan. I did a review the other day after picking up my Truck and finding out that AAMCO didn't rebuild nor touch my transmission. In fact after they called me and told me that there was nothing wrong with the Transmission that it was the motor! I told them there is no way it could be the engine, an engine wouldn't run as quiet nor as smooth as this does if there was something mechanical inside it. And that it wouldn't smooth out at higher RPM's. I asked them about the passing gear and why that wasn't working, and they told me that it's not included in the rebuild, I asked, "Then you guys say you test driven this truck and that everything works!" I asked them how do they know it works and works right if you guys don't have it hooked up? All they could say is that it works! How do they know this? I don't know? They told me that it would cost me $280.00 to have it hooked up.

Now I'm telling you guys this company Aamco are a rip off professionals. I have replaced many of these switches before, it's what happens to TH400s. This part is a $29.99 part, takes me about 20 minutes to do the wiring and place the part where it belongs, And I don't do this for a living day in and day out, I'm not a professional. So if it takes me about 20 minutes then it should take these professionals less than that. So not only didn't they rebuild my transmission, but charged me $2200.00, they want to charge me an extra $280.00 to put the kick down switch in!! WOW!!

I asked them if they have ever read any of their reviews? They said, "Yes we do!" I said, "Really, then you must know then that the reviews are horrible, just one after another on how this company Aamco does this same stuff to customers after customers. Customers taking their vehicles into get them fixed and they come out way worse then they did going in. Just literally one customer after another." They asked me where I was getting the information from and I told them from Customer Affairs!! Which I shouldn't have told them, because within an hour and this is no joke they tried to Buried these customers reviews. They are still there but you have to keep scrolling down. Now you say, "Oh man you're full of it!! They can't do that!!

All you have to do is look at the dates. They go in order except for the the ones they only want you to see. Anyway stay away from Aamco unless you want to go through what I and a lot more people have gone through. I really think that there should be a class action law suite done. For their outright blatant thievery and lies.

    Reviewed Nov. 26, 2019

Hello my name is Juan ** and I live in Boise, Idaho. I own a 1978 Chevrolet with a 350 And the transmission is a Turbo Hydramatic 400. 3 weeks ago while I was on the freeway I felt something break lose Toward the front of the transmission At which time I started getting a shimmy. The faster I went the smoother it became. The slower I went the worst the shimmy became. So I figured I must have Blown the rear main seal or front main seal of transmission. I have rebuilt engines before and fixed other parts before on a car so I pretty much have a mechanical background, So I decide to get underneath the Truck and figure this out. After I remove the protecting plate that protects the torque converter and fly wheel I realized that neither the front bearing of transmission was not blown nor was the rear main seal of engine blown and everything was dry and clean. And by the way the engine runs as quite as a mouse, really!

So I started to look into what would do such a thing. And come to find out it's called a Torque converter shimmy. Which is cause by Sludge and crap being built up inside the converter because the transmission oil wasn't changed and then it sat for long periods. When all that crap Eventually breaks loose it creates a shimmy in the torque converter because it is now off balance Until you hit a certain RPM Then It smooths out. This can be taken care of Possibly By doing 2 or 3 oil changes making sure you drive it a little in between the changes. This could work. Anyway I decided not to mess with it and to let the pros rebuild it to fit the needs of the Torque the 454 I will be putting In.

So Aamco came and picked it up, now remember it was pretty much all taken apart, so they didn't have to do much to pull transmission. So anyways 2 weeks later they call me saying truck is done test driven and all they SUPPOSEDLY done to it $2200,00 later. I go pick up the truck and guess what? It's doing the same damn thing!! WTF do they think? I'm stupid? This was test driven and Pro clear good!!! These guys are nuts!! So I took my truck to 3 different shops, cuz I know what Aamco was going to say, mind you the engine is running as Quiet as a mouse. All 3 shops say the same thing, it's the transmission. I take it back to Aamco and guess what they said? IT'S THE ENGINE!!! WHAT ARE THESE GUYS SMOKING???

So I told them it's not the engine because an engine would not at all be running as good nor as quite, you would know without any questions. There would be holes in block all kinds of Destruction If it was the engine. So I basically paid them $2200.00 for to put transmission cross member in and put the drive shaft back in. And maybe just maybe A transmission fluid change. Thanks for nothing Aamco. Juan **

Brought a car in for transmission fluid flush to AAMCO. When I picked up the car, there was transmission fluid all over the front of the car, and an unbelievable amount of fluid spilled under the hood. It completely covered the transmission, engine cradle, drive shaft, control arm, steering rack, and the plastic shrouds under the car. Also, the transmission fluid was way overfilled. There was a transmission cooling line that was disconnected from the radiator used to flush the fluid. They reused the original clamp, which was so loose, I pulled it off quite easily.

The worker said that he cleaned what was spilled. The manager allowed this car to be returned to me in this condition, means that shop is totally mismanaged. They did wash off the fluid on the paint, and used brake cleaner to clean up some of the fluid under the car, but not all. It was a sloppy job, and inadequate cleanup. So, I cleaned it up thoroughly with foaming engine degreaser, and a low pressure washer. If an AAMCO service center cannot properly provide a simple fluid flush, why would I trust them to repair anything? I would not allow that shop to repair my lawnmower.

I again said good for you, but I need to know what the problem is, and it could be one thing or a hundred things wrong, but I want a diagnostic done first and get back with me before you do anything, because I need to figure out how much I needed for repairs.

Two days later, I was told that I needed to come in and pay for the balance because my vehicle was just about done! I stated that I didnt want anything done until I got the diagnostic on my vehicle, and requested what work was done on my vehicle. I paid a little over $3 for a rebuilt transmission (never happened- just took my money) and AAMCO refuses to honor the warranty of the work that was never done but instead put a leaky used transmission in my vehicle. Charlene ** said today AAMCO will not install a rebuilt transmission but will ONLY install a used transmission.

This Company isn't worthy of any stars, I will try to make this as brief as possible. This issue started July 11, 2019, when I called to just get advice about my SUV, because it had driven different on one or two occasions. With assuming it was my transmission, I was told to call AAMCO in east point because of their free diagnostic testing, when calling them, talking to Mike an employee there, he confirmed the diagnostic was free and to have it towed or drive it in. Because I didn't want to take any chances I had it towed there. Once vehicle arrived I was told I would be called on that following Monday. Monday came no call, Tuesday and thereafter I called just to get an answer an entire week later, for them to tell me that my transmission was taken out and it would be $3,500.

In AHHH!, I asked what was the diagnostic, because I was never called of what the results were. With much disrespect from Mike an employee there I was told if I didn't have the money to bring the title to my truck, take out a loan etc. SO inappropriate and unprofessional. After stressing and emailing AAMCO's Corporate office, I was then called by the Owner (Greg). First I was told if I wanted my truck back I'd have to pay $1,500 to get it back, which didn't include any repairs just more of a concern of the labor that was wrongfully done. Being so upset I had to call the police just to put in a report, just to protect me. I was then told by the Owner, to work things out I could get my truck back lowering the amount from $1,500 to $780.

I finally just to keep peace, because I was told if I didn't come get my truck, that it would be towed and impounded. For an entire Month I went through a negative experience with AAMCO, I finally just paid the $780 just for their labor taking out a transmission that they had no permission or any paper worked being signed to perform this work. I was told giving them my birth date when being asked was permission for them to proceed with working on my transmission, which my birthday wasn't given and what they had was a wrong birth date. I now have my SUV with my transmission in the back of my truck of my SUV. I called AAA to have it towed back to my house. I've very dissatisfied and scorn from a Nationwide company that doesn't look out for their customers. EVERYONE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, IT'S NOT WORTH IT.

Concord California location absolutely the worst customer service. Wesley who is the owner/manager is very rude and cares more about his bottom line than customer satisfaction. My daughter is having her transmission replaced and I can say it is turning out to be the worst experience for us. They have had her car since 8/9/19 and it is still not fixed. She picked it up on 8/21 and before she could get home (20 minutes 13 miles) the replaced transmission went out. After speaking with Wesley my daughter felt as if she was being accused of doing something that caused the transmission to fail. He made it point to tell her this is why he does not like used transmissions. He prefers remanufactured because used have a 40% rate of success and he that he will replaced with another used one and hopes it work because he is tired of doing free labor.

I say to that then chose a better vendor but don't make your customer feel at fault. If you don't want to honor the warranty then don't offer it. At one point Aamco was a very reputable company, expensive but reputable and provided top notch work and customer service. Today that is no longer the case and I regret suggesting them to my daughter. I had even tried to have a conversation with Wesley and he continued to over talk me while being rude. When I asked who his boss was his reply was, "I am the boss, I am the owner of this location." When I asked did he have a corporate office his reply was, "Yes and they can tell me what to do but the final decision is mine." Never again will I use or suggest AAMCO and if anyone I know transmission goes out my first comment will be don't go to AAMCO.

Your location. AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care. 819 Pulaski Hwy, Bear, DE 19701. Transmission shop. Franklin **. 376 points. A week ago. Would rather give no stars. So disgusted with AAMCO. I have an extended warranty (NVP) on my car, as I purchased used with a lot of miles. My warranty did not have a specific place to take car for any work so I thought of AAMCO. Took it to one in Bear, Delaware. I felt pretty comfortable with the person I spoke with and even more when I learned I had known his wife for several years, since 2000. Thinking that may provide me a little more attention to my car. I was wrong... My warranty service wanted to put in a transmission costing them a lot less than what AAMCO recommended. Both NVP and AAMCO played off each other in a negative. It was a "he said" "she said" issue.

Basically AAMCO was stating they do not put in parts that they can't warranty, even though NVP was giving the same exact warranty. After conversation with a friend, I selected AAMCO and their recommendations (as I thought they were National and the fact I knew someone tied to AAMCO). After two weeks at AAMCO, I finally got it back and drove around for a week or more just to notice AAMCO never put back on my locking lug nut on both sides of my front tires. Called once I noticed and they seemed to not care one bit, actually making it seem that it was my fault. After several calls, an assistant to the manager finally took the time to locate those lug nuts and are holding for me. It has been a month now and I just had an oil change. The mechanic stated my transmission is leaking. Thinking I could take it to any AAMCO closer to my home, I took it in to be officially diagnosed. This AAMCO called the one in Bear.

I was told I had to take it to Bear, even though I was told during initial repair I could take it to any AAMCO during warranty. Explanation was that they were still working under NVP warranty and the National AAMCO Warranty had not been entered. So now, I have a 2 hour trip to get it serviced. Yes, they did offer to send tow truck (which I should insist). If I did that, only God knows how long I would be without a car. Ending....do more research to where your car is serviced. Whatever you do, don't believe anyone cares about the outcome of you or your vehicle. It is only about the dollars they can suck out of you. I certainly believe this Bear AAMCO should be doing something about grossly mishandling me as a customer and the work on my car.

    2. Response from the owner a day ago. "Franklin- We regret to hear that you are displeased with your recent experience with us. We thought we made it clear at the onset of your appointment that we do not accept parts from an outside vendor and we needed the key to the lug nut lock (which you did not have) in order to work on the transmission. Our offer for a free tow into the center still stands, so please reach out directly at (302) 322-9735 for ways we can work towards resolving these issues. We look forward to hearing from you soon. AAMCO Bear DE Management Team."

My response today. Response is/was completely inaccurate from AAMCO Management. After dealings with Management at this AAMCO, they did tell me what was wrong with transmission as it was already out. Knowing at first meeting, I had a warranty. They did not disclose they would refuse to install anything less than what they wanted to sell me at an inflated price. They told me they would send findings to warranty company. It was not until after warranty company wanted to purchase their own transmission with exact same warranty and AAMCO would not be able to inflate price.

They also indicated they asked for my lug nut key, which is a flat out lie. I was told on several occasions, they record every call, I would like to hear that on any conversation that I had. If that was the case and it was mentioned, would that be the reason to leave a lug nut off each front wheel without notations to cover themselves in case I got in an accident because of it. Besides overcharging, not returning calls and being dishonest. They now are saying things they know are untrue.

I took my 2003 Chevy Silverado to the AAMCO in Colmar, PA in February of 2017 because my transmission went. I spent $2700 to have it completely rebuilt. It still never ran right after they rebuilt it, it would not pick up speed, I was lucky to do 40-45mph uphill, and it would make a jerking motion all the time. I took it back and let them know it wasn't right, but they insisted everything was done correctly. I even gave them more business that spring when we had an issue with our Acura, and spent another $2500 with their company.

It is now 2 1/5 years after having a brand new transmission put in and it just went again. The basic warranty was only for 18 months, I didn't get an extended warranty, I trusted the work that this company did, and the mechanic assured me they stand behind their work as well. Apparently their work is only good for 2 1/5 years, and since I am out of the warranty period there is nothing to be done. I understand that I am out of the warranty, but I think it is ridiculous that I spent that much on a transmission that went again after only 2 1/5 years.

The Colmar location has since shut down, no doubt because they were doing such a horrible job on customer's vehicles, I absolutely regret not getting a second opinion when I was still in the warranty. My advice would be to not do any business with AAMCO, they will charge you a fortune for something just to have it breakdown again 2 years later. I may not be able to do anything about my situation with them, but I can at least warn others to stay away and go with a different company.

It has already been the absolute worst vacation! We're 10 days into what was supposed to be a 3 week vacation. We'd already decided to turn around 5 days ago when the steel fuel line blew on our F250 diesel! Which I'm proud to say my wife replaced in a hot parking lot by herself! We decided to stay overnight at Loft Mountain Campground on our way home to Kansas. We were just pulling up to the camp registration office when the front pump seal blew on our transmission. I called my brother in law, who grew up in this area, and between the two of us we called at least a dozen mechanic shops within a 50 mile radius. I explained what I needed and asked for quotes. 4 of them didn't service diesels.

I did receive quotes from ATRS, Mike's Transmission, AAMCO, and a couple others. Mike's was the lowest at $500, but he couldn't get me in for a month. ATRS said $700, but they are closed Fridays which would have meant us staying until Monday or later. Tom at AAMCO in Harrisonburg said "$700 give or take" and he could get me in the same day! They all gave me the same speech about it being an old truck, it's a 2000, and could possibly be more once they got into it. AAMCO was a bit pushier, but I told him over the phone that while I understood his concerns, asked that if I as the customer wanted just the pump seal replaced would he do it. He said yes, but that there wouldn't be a warranty. He also said he'd need me to accept that verbally, which I did.

We had the truck towed down to AAMCO, and he had us drive the truck to park it. He said they were going to get the truck in and do a free inspection. He called me a few hours later and gave me great news! My transmission looked great and I was right, it was in fact the front pump seal that blew. Only now, inexplicably, the quote is "$1300, maybe a bit less." When I asked him about the $700 he quoted on the phone, he said the $700 he quoted over the phone was just for the removal and reinstallation of the transmission. Only now, there's also a $300 fee for his "specialist" to seat the seal, another $200 for a transmission service, and lastly $100 for parts. He also waited until almost 5pm to give me this news, which gave me no time to find another shop.

With no other options, we had him do the job. I gave him my dad's phone number to call for payment once the job was completed. He called my dad, said the job was done and the final bill was $1126.04. He then calls back says he forgot to charge for some fluid and charges my dad another $115.03. Total, $1241.07! I went and picked up my truck, drove less than a mile, tried to park, and found out I couldn't change gears! I had to go back to their shop stuck in first gear. When I got to the shop the same "specialist" that did the work, crawls under my truck, fiddles around, and I'm able to put it in park. He crawls out says he needs to put a shim in and has to put it back on the rack.

I get out and head towards the office, but look over in time to see him grab a zip tie and duck under my truck. 5 minutes later my truck is back out front, and there's no charge for the repair. He zip tied the shift linkage cable in place! I spent the day calling numerous shops, explaining my situation, and asking for quotes. The quotes I received were all $700 and under. I asked if the prices included parts and labor and if there were any specialist charges, every shop said no. I didn't mention who did the work, but 3 local shops guessed based on the questions I asked. We're victims of a malicious man that saw dollar signs when he realized we were stranded travelers with a borrowed credit card. Shame on you Tom! And, SHAME on AAMCO for keeping a charlatan like this in a management position.

AAMCO assured me that the transmission was fine, and recommended $1900 of repairs which would solve the problem. After $1766.74 of unwarranted repairs, the car continued to "jerk." I then took the car to my dealership's service department, which determined that indeed the transmission was faulty and needed repair. Another $2530 and the car is now fixed. I will add that AAMCO had also offered me financing: a predatory loan at 60%!!! Good thing I read the small print!!! I feel that AAMCO's business practices are both dishonest and unethical. I decided to let AAMCO proceed to rebuild the Transmission because Sawgrass Ford was charging me $4300 to install a new transmission. 2004 F-150 has a history of transmission issue, I had replaced before at 75,000 miles. ** the owner of AAMCO located at 4907 N. University, Lauderhill gave me an approximate timeline for completion would be Thursday 30th. This is Friday the 31st. July, and I still haven't gotten back my truck as yet. It's difficult for me to comprehend 1 vehicle taking so much time to rebuild the transmission.

I am an aircraft technician with over 35 yrs of experience including management. My constructive criticism comes with recommendation for the owner to analyze as to where the problem is, because this was not performed in an expeditious manner. The receptionists I corresponded with were courteous however would not recommend this AAMCO to anyone ever. Taking stock of the event and timeline eliminating the holiday nights and weekends, this AAMCO is not efficient, if they had this much work I would recommend to the owner to incorporate shift work and Saturday work. If parts sourcing or resourcing is a problem I would recommend for AAMCO to review their policies and procedures. Lastly I tried to pay with writing a check, and AAMCO would not accept my check, however accepted debit card. This is unacceptable. 8 days too much. This company requires a management overhaul for proper work ethics, policies and procedures.

My recent experience to repair my transmission at Mahopac AAMCO was more than worth it. I have a G8GT and if you're a car guy reading this, you know that it has the L76 big block engine. This is a car enthusiasts machine so when my transmission codes came flashing on my warning screen, I knew it was major with 130,000 miles on the car. Then dealer where I purchased the car said it was not worth fixing. My car is very clean so I was quite put off. I then thought of perhaps repairing it with AAMCO which turned out to be the best option. Dennis is the manager of AAMCO in Mahopac NY. He took the time to explain and keep me informed of the progress. 5 days later, I had my car with a smooth transmission.

I drove the car for a while and became concerned of a noise I was hearing when pressing and lifting my foot off the pedal as what would be done in traffic. Now this sound was there there prior to taking to AAMCO so I really wanted to make sure it was not related to the transmission. Dennis had me immediately bring the car in and we took a ride together. So not only did Dennis identify the noise as being normal in my car due to the high power and torque and not in the transmission (I believe it comes from what is called the pumpkin in cars), but he also showed me had to correctly use the sport manual mode, which increased my driving pleasure immensely. I have been having a blast on the twisties going to work everyday. I also saved thousands of dollars from buying a used car. Thank you AAMCO, their service technicians, and a special thanks to Dennis.

Updated on 06/12/2019: As I stated the age of the vehicle would be the response given by owner in complaint. 1) Parts according to the young lady who answered the phone were in on the 2nd week my car was there and were about to be installed. 2) I never stated that I had limited funds but I did say that I was not willing to pay $150 hr for the shop to try and locate a wiring issue when I can take it to a shop that specializes in it.

I now understand why he addressed my son instead of me in the shop. Let me be clear I have no problem with admitting if I am wrong, and the courts will decide that. If I am wrong and the shop was not responsible for reporting damage to me at the time the car arrived I will post that judgment and retract my poor review. Unlike the owner I am not trying to put anyone down or say anything negative to make a point. I am speaking facts only which is what he should practice. Do not speak about my finances unless you know what's in my account, or I had to make some payment arrangement because I couldn't cover my bill. That was in poor taste, but hey nice try.

Part 2) Once again mislead by them and convinced to bring my car back so that they could correct the issue/no mention of any conditions that had to be met in order for this to take place. He had the car for 2 weeks and never called until after I had placed 3 calls about the car/no message as to fees he was charging until after he took the car apart. Requested $700 for repairs to damage they caused and on top of that they have now damaged my other mirror on the passenger side which they were not even ask to touch. He refuses to release my car or put it back together unless I remove my reviews or sign papers stating that they did not cause any damage to the car.

I will not stop and have filed a legal case now in reference to him falsely taking the car and giving the impression that he was going to fix it without a charge and never disclosing that a charge would apply before receiving it nor did he mention that I would have to remove any comments in reference to his business before he would put the car back together..

Original Review: The shop had my car towed in for repairs. I will start out by saying I have no complaint in reference to the repair to my car. They did a great job in that area. My complaint is about my car being there for month and not being advised of damage caused while in their care until I walk in the door the day before I pick it up. Was told about damage to the interior handle when I got there, and after paying them for the actual work they completed we pull off and make a turn and the driver side mirror folds in because it's now broken.

I called and spoke to the owner and all he kept saying was my car is old and that it was like that when it arrived, but couldn't explain why they never told me...Mirror not even on paperwork they gave me, and they took the car for a test drive so he said so they would have known it was broken. File a case against them not because they don't do great work but because they don't take ownership for their mistake which I'm sure when they see this the response will be the car is old...

I own a 2006 Lexus GS 300 with only 69** miles on it. A few months ago, the vehicle began to downshift hard from 2nd to first right around 8mph on deceleration and braking. I took my vehicle to the AAMCO franchise located at 2339 Loop 410 NW in San Antonio, TX. I initially took the vehicle in and had them do a diagnostic on it which they stated passed. I was advised that they'd need to pull the tranny in order to diagnose the problem further. I agreed, upon inspection, I was advised by Tim and Tim the mechanic that I'd need to have the transmission rebuilt due to a valve body issue/failure. Again I agreed, the work was completed. I drove the vehicle off the lot, around the block and the vehicle was doing the exact same thing. I immediately returned to the shop and was told that the computer needs to adjust to my driving style and to drive the vehicle for 10 days and to bring it back.

The problem never went away, it actually only has gotten worse. I returned the vehicle to have them work on the vehicle again, figuring that the repairs would be under the warranty. Since the original visit the sales guy Tim has been fired and now I am dealing with this guy Chad, I think his name is. Basically they tell me that they cannot even do a diagnostic without me agreeing to pay $200 not to mention that they are now trying to tell me they think its a computer or electrical issue which is not covered under my warranty when they should have run a diagnostic on the electrical and ECU system prior on the previous visit which was what I felt the issue was initially.

Buyer beware. They use terms like diagnostics, ethics, promise and whatever else they need to lure you in and get your money and I'm sure they're not even fixing anything on your vehicle. I asked to see my transmission parts when they had it pulled out and apparently they could not get them together because they were laid out on a bench etc... Do not for any reason go to this franchise, I think the boss name is Rose and she won't even speak with you. If you do decide to have work done by them, never do business over the phone, don't tell them when you're coming to check on your repairs and if its a luxury vehicle, just take it to the dealer and pay more but be assured that your vehicle will be fixed the right way the first time.

I returned on February 9th around 11:30am to speak with a mechanic named ** that told me my car did not have any issues. I left feeling fine that I did not have anything to worry about.

On February 28th, I’m driving down the highway with my infant daughter on my way to pick up my other 2 year old daughter from preschool and my motor blew out. I then had to contact a tow truck company and pay over $100 to have my vehicle towed. I decided to have it towed to the same AAMCO, on 703 N. West St., since they had just had my vehicle 20 days prior to this issue. My Acadia was looked at around 3:30-4:00 on February 28th by **, once again. Turns out, my motor blew out because I DID NOT HAVE OIL!!! Isn’t that what an estimate/maintenance check is? My question is, if your employees are so trained, why did ** not let me know on February 9th that my vehicle was low, getting low, or did not have oil? I didn’t have a light on either. I am a young women with 2 small children. I don’t know a darn thing about cars!

At around 4pm on the 9th, ** gave me a call to let me know that my car would need a new motor for $3,000 minimum, plus 15-20 hours of labor. He also so stupidly let me know he never check my oil when I brought it in on February 9th!! I trusted this shop and I was lied to so I would come back and have to spend more money for an issue that was created in AAMCO or just flat out ignored because ** knew I’d be back for help! Sadly, it gets worse! After we had let ** know that $3,000 plus was simply just not affordable, he so rudely hung up the phone! I called back to ask him if he could please put my keys back in the car, in the ignition unlocked, and I would have a tow truck driver come back to get it and bring it to my house. Apparently, this made ** extremely mad that he wasted his time checking out my car, (which with him is where the issue started), he so unprofessionally locked my keys in the car out of anger. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!??

When the tow company got there on the evening of February 28th around 6pm, nobody was in site, the shop was locked up and the keys were locked in the vehicle. I had to pay $100 just to have it unlocked and $100 to get it off of AAMCO property. $300 down the drain thanks to **! I reached out to AAMCO Corp. on March 4th letting them know how terrible this shop is in Wichita representing their name. I immediately got a response from AAMCO Customer Support, **, assuring me she’d reach out to this shop and figure this out.

The following day, I received a phone call from the shop owner here in Wichita, **. ** called to let me know that nobody by the name of ** was ever in their system and that I must have not brought my car to one of his shops. I told him he was mistaken and in fact I was there on February 8th and 9th! I left my car in their parking lot under their cameras! He said maybe there was a misunderstanding and he’d like to look at it again. He picked my car up on March 7th, early afternoon. Honestly, I was not too thrilled that my car was going to be put back in their shop but I truly thought he was going to make this right and fix his untrained employee’s mistake. I sent ** a text on March 8th asking if my vehicle had been looked at and he said “It hasn’t been dropped off yet.” I went nearly 5 days without knowing where my vehicle was! This has got to be a joke!

Today, March 10th, ** sent me a link, via text message, which led me to a site on google. It was an article about a timing chain in some GMC Models. What does this do for me?! He then stated “Here’s an article about the timing chains for your vehicle. It has a factory recall.” I did my research, called GM and used my VIN number on their website, to in fact find out and prove that my model, 2009 GMC Acadia, DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL FOR A TIMING CHAIN. ** is trying to make me believe that this is the issue and not his uneducated mechanics. Unfortunately, my car is still in their parking lot with zero intentions from their shop to fix this mistake. I bought my vehicle from Mel Hambelton Ford, a reputable car dealership that did not sell me a vehicle with this big of a problem. I haven’t even owned the car that long!

This is such a tragedy for myself, my 2 babies, and as well as my disabled mother who I am a caretaker for. I cannot take my child to school, take my newborn to the doctor, get to my mother’s house to take care of her, or go anywhere since I am now carless and have been since the 28th! I was stranded on the side of the highway for nearly 2 hours in 20 degree temperatures with my 2 month old baby and no heat! I have felt very uncomfortable this entire time dealing with **, who stated on our phone call on March 5th that he searched me on Facebook and saw that we had a mutual friend, (a person that I did go to high school with) to see what kind of a person I am. This is SO unprofessional and creepy to say the least. This was such a careless mistake made by AAMCO Wichita, Ks 703 N. West. St. There has GOT to be more to this problem or a solution! This is NOT right!

My granddaughter took my Buick to AAMCO and was told it was the pressure control solenoid needed to be replace. It would cost about $700. I took the car in today and was advised that that wasn’t the problem and it would cost $695 to tear it about to find out what the problem was and didn’t remember talking to my granddaughter or looking at my car. I told them to put the keys and solenoid under the floor mat amid lock it up and I would get it tonight. Then they called back and said they could get a used transmission with 69,000 miles on it and put it in for $1500 with a 90 day guarantee or $1895 with a one year guarantee. I talked with my son and decided a 2004 Buick wasn’t worth it as it only had 104,000 miles. I advised them of that and they argued what would I do when I didn’t have a car. Then offered to buy it for $300. I said no thank you. Then they called and advised my window wouldn’t go up.

I had just had the motor etc fixed less than 2 weeks. Jim stated not his problem as they didn’t do anything. Got the bill showing it was just fixed. Before going inside I tried the window and it went right up. I drove the car up to the building and asked them to step outside. Jim wouldn’t but Frank came around the counter and asked how I did that. I said pushed the button. My granddaughter then calls me as they had called her twice thinking that was my number. The only way they had her number is from the paperwork when she had previously brought the car in that shows it just needed the pressure control solenoid needed to be replaced. WATCH. They talk out of both sides of their mouth.

WORST experience I ever had. I came in because my transmission needed to be looked at. I told the dude can he look at it and tell me what’s wrong. He said he wouldn’t charge me, after he looked at it took it down the transmission. He then came back out said, "Your transmission would need some work." I said, "That's fine. How much?" Mind you I went to one earlier and they said 300$ labor and 1000$ transmission fix. AAMCO said 3,800$ and I can not get my car out the shop till I pay the labor which was 895$ just to look at the car. My car has since been in there for 5 months.

Had lifetime warranty on transmission and was required to return to same shop for annual inspection each year. After around two years of having them inspect the transmission (actually just driving the vehicle) the owner stated that I do not need to return for annuals as it was not required anymore and if I had a problem just return and they will fix the issue at which time he kept all the paperwork stating he was responsible for this warranty.

A few years later a leak appears from the transmission and that AAMCO shop was closed and AAMCO corporate refuses to fix the issue under warranty claiming that the previous shop had no right to keep the paperwork and that no annuals were done since that time which voids the lifetime warranty. Explaining that their representative who is AAMCO is the one who kept the paperwork and refused the annual inspections on my vehicle to no avail. All AAMCO corporate would say is "we're sorry, but we cannot help you as the owners are independent and we have no responsibility for what they say or do". DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT AS YOU WILL LOSE as they will not stand behind what the independent shop owners tell their customers!!!

When I got the car back I almost cried. It was so sloppily put together. It does not even come close to the way the factory installed all the components. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago. I put the car into reverse and it's still doing the same thing. I wish I never went there. My gut instinct told me not to too. The silver lining is we went for the three year warranty.

I bought a used Volkswagen Passat. A little while after, I started noticing drops of light-colored fluid in the driveway. It also developed a marked change in the automatic shifting pattern. I took it to AAMCO. They convinced me to get a used transmission replacement. Ten days and almost $2700 dollars later they returned my vehicle. I then immediately noticed that it not only was still shifting poorly, but it was still leaking as well. I took it back to AAMCO and they told me the uneven shifting is the replacement transmission learning. It sounded like BS to me. To address it still leaking they showed me a rusted metal tube that they explained is where the transmission fluid is delivered to the transmission cooling radiator. They told me they would replace the rusted line and they did.

Of course, I couldn’t help but think that this was my original problem all along. If they would have found and replaced the external rusted tubing and refilled the leaked transmission fluid, would I have needed a replacement transmission costing much more than the car was worth. I think not, but of course it can’t be proven either way. I felt cheated. A day later, I noticed more fresh fluid in the driveway. I took it back to AAMCO and they told me it was now engine oil leaking and that I had to take it elsewhere to be looked at.

I took it to another repair shop. I was told it was the rear engine seal that was leaking. The mechanic told me that the transmission would have to be removed to get at and replace the leaky seal. I told him that I had just had a replacement transmission installed days before. He asked, “why didn’t they replace the leaky engine seal when they had the transmission out?” I told him, “it wasn’t leaking engine oil until after they replaced the transmission. Could they have caused the leak?” He answered, “They could have caused the leak, but good luck proving it.” I felt very cheated.

I took it back to AAMCO and told them of this exchange. They still gave me the run-around but finally told me that they would offer me a discount to change the rear engine seal. I was told I would get a call after they price it out. That was a week ago. As I expected, no one has called me with a quote to fix the damage that I’m convinced AAMCO did to my car. Now I feel neglected as well as cheated.

She has a 2005 Buick Park Avenue and I have a 2006 Chevy Equinox both needed a transmission rebuild. I needed some extra hard parts for the Chevy Equinox that was not included in a normal rebuild. We spoke to a young man very friendly and knowledgeable I might add and we also did speak to a young lady named **. Our thought were that both vehicles would need to be sold as is because of the cost of repairs. Well was not needed to sell either one. The job cost was very reasonable compared to other shops and we received five free oil changes on each vehicle.

I am very hard of hearing on the phone so the Technician who worked on my vehicle was texting me or it may have been the store Manager ** but I did have an easy time communicating with them through text. Also I want to say I had some work done at another shop about one month or a little less (Not Aamco I am sorry to say).

Anyways the Technician who worked on my vehicle found out that the left front axle was clicking and making some other sort of noise. When I took it back to the other shop I was told, "Oh when we just checked it out yes the right front axle is defective." HELLO! Ok so what if Aamco would not have addressed this issue to me and me being hard of hearing would not have heard the clicking noise. So to say that if I was not told to take it back where it was serviced and driving on the interstates 60 or 70 well... I would probably not be writing this review.

Ok I hope I got my point across. This location deserves ten stars but I cannot do it. Please give them a call and make an appointment for at least an inspection and quote. You will not be sorry. Technicians are wonderful also. Good luck to all you workers at the 51st ave north of Glendale location. You have my business from now on.

My wife took our 2006 Toyota Sienna with 125k miles in to get a transmission flush because it is recommended by Toyota. The mechanic came to my wife and showed her some metal shavings and said that it was bad and we should have the transmission rebuilt right away. He was surprised she even made it into the shop without a problem. Luckily my wife is smart enough to question something like that and she called me. I told her that shavings are normal and we would not be having them rebuild the transmission. I told her I didn't even want them to flush the transmission and to just get out of there.

They still charged $60 for labor for doing nothing which I thought they would at least clean out the shavings and put in new fluid. Turns out they left the shavings and put the same old fluid back in. That is unacceptable. Try to prey on a woman to rebuild a perfectly fine transmission and then to put the same fluid back in when you had every chance to put in new fluid. If there is an issue with my transmission in the future I will strongly fight that it is AAMCO's fault for what they did today.

The owner does not even back his own employees' work. We picked up our car and it was in terrible shape. It took 18 hours to clean the grease out of the inside of the car. It also had outside damage where someone had scraped the rims and bent the metal underneath the door. This was denied when they were questioned. We drove the car a few times over a period of 2 weeks and it has started slipping while making a turn. We called them and were told to bring it back in.

After sitting there 2 days, we call back and are told it was the gaskets. The transmission we had them put in was used and from a reputable company, one that AAMCO does business with frequently. The owner tells us that they put the transmission in without putting in a filter or replacing any of the gaskets. Instead they put the old, used filters on it??? Why would you do that? Especially when we called continuously and asked if it needed anything. Never were we told we needed to pay extra to replace these parts. Instead they prefer for their customers to have $2600 work done for no reason and then require them to bring it back in. He then wanted to say it was all our responsibility, not theirs and we bought a piece of junk and if we didn’t pick it up within 2 hours he would have it impounded!

Okay correct me I am wrong but as a Customer with a 30 day warranty, we have the right to have our car fixed correctly without hassle. Besides that point why would you ever replace a transmission that he originally told us was practically “new”, and not even place a filter in it or replace the old gaskets when you brought the vehicle in because it was leaking in the first place? This is not the kind of service I expected from an AAMCO business. I am devastated that I just purchased this car and it was bad enough I was without it for 2 months, but then to have such rude and unprofessional service from a franchise owner just amazes me. Instead of trying to resolve the issue he preferred to criticize us and not stand behind his own company and workmanship. I would never recommend this company or any other AAMCO after this horrible experience and just hope that no one else has to go through such a bad experience or lose so much money!

I took car to another shop on Saturday diagnosed as speed sensor needs to be replaced because the code still showed on speedometer and check engine light was on the car.

In addition I paid to have the driver side window and door handle fixed as charge $391 and the door handle came apart once the window regulator was fixed by Roger mechanic. The other 3 windows would not come down using the key lock or doors would not open. Brought car back Anthony the mechanic. Fixed the car. He is the only competent mechanic in the shop.

Mark and the staff are very friendly and nice. However, to take someone’s car and keep it a month without properly diagnosing the car is unacceptable. I am going to get my Car today take it to another repair location to fix what should have been fixed through their shop the speed sensor. I spent $1000 on the car over 1 month time and my car is still running with the check engine light on and the car is still reading trans failsafe program. DO NOT USE AAMCO IN MORRISTOWN NJ.

I am not finished here. I plan join class action lawsuit to recoup my many and I am going to contact my bank to dispute the charges on my credit card and possibly go small claims court recoup money for the rent a car and expenses incurred while my car was being held hostage by an incompetent repair shop. Very sad. The previous Zoe era Vince would resolve and take care of issues worked with them in past. The new manager Mark is about taking in cars without being able to repair them in timely manner. Towards that end, I am about go to Consumer Affairs file a complaint and even website or social media to let customers know to stay away from the AAMCO IN MORRISTOWN NJ.

I wasn't going to make a review but, is very important for people to know how bad "**" at 5701 Pulaski Highway Baltimore MD, is. Back in February 2016, I went to check my transmission. Because I was having a long shift in my car. He did a diagnostic (engine light was on) which by the way he told me it was free with service and charge me $95, and revealed codes PO620, P1106, P1811 for my 2005 Pontiac Bonneville. He said it had an engine misfires and that it needed a tune up. I told him that couldn't be, because I just had a tune up done not long ago. He said then it was the transmission. So, he asked me to leave the vehicle over. He also suggested a "Safeguard Service" a transmission flush.

After he finish with my car, he called me to tell me how much was going to cost me and stated that indeed it was that transmission and that it was going to be an estimated cost of $800. I told him I didn't have that kind of money so he suggested for me to take a loan with Landmark. I did and took $1,000 because it was the minimum for a loan. Loan was approved and pick up the check. Cashier's check was made for AAMCO for $681.08, that was the total ** told me it cost after my car was fixed. When I got there, I paid and when I got to my car, there was a puddle of transmission oil under my car. He was furious with the mechanic because he said he forgot the screw. He put more oil in it, didn't took him long. The mechanic was embarrassed because yelled at him in front of me. I told him that it was a mistake that was taking care of. But he said; "For ** is always a mistake I'm tired of his insults". I was glad that my car was fixed.

But, 2 days later I'm having the same problem. Long shifts and the engine light came on again. I went back to him and told him that the problem was still there. He said "Then defiantly is the transmission." I said; "I know that is why I came to AAMCO, because I want it my transmission fix" He said that all he did was a tune up to see if it wasn't the transmission. I told him "I TOLD YOU I HAD A TUNE UP NOT LONG AGO" He said; "I didn't think was done correctly so I did one" OK, and why didn't you tell me about it? I said, "He claimed he did." But, I told him that if he did I would have stop him from doing it. So, that wasn't truth.

He said that unless I was going to let him fixed the transmission that I needed to leave. I told him, that he will pay, but not by my hands but by the hands of God. I left there in tears and he didn't even care. Ever since I being having this engine light on and off. I went to Mr. Tires (this is another story that I will tell in a review that I will make, stay tune). I spend another $703.45. And I'm still having this engine light on. I have paid $320 in just to check the engine light and nothing has being done.

Today (08/6/2018) I went to another mechanic that charge me $40 to tell me that I'm having a misfired code (P0300) and that the parts of the tune up are NOT for my car. That I have wires hanging that it shouldn't be. I will provide proof of this by showing my statements. Statement shows that I had a major tune up with All tune on 05/01/2013 mileage at 114526 for $350. Then on 04/27/2015 had spark plugs change with a mileage of 130801 for $145.00. Difference of 16,275 miles. On 02/16/2016 AAMCO did a major (unnecessary) tune up Mileage was 137284 for $681.08. Difference of 6,483 miles. I didn't need a tune up. You tell me if this is not highway robbery? DON'T GO THERE. You have being warned. And for what I see on other reviews, it seem that AAMCO is no good. I haven't seen there commercials anymore. What does that tell you? All they know about cars, is they don't know NOTHING.

I can only speak to my experience with the Roseburg, OR location... But if that is anything to go on, I will stay away from all AAMCO locations. I do not recommend anyone bring their car into the Roseburg AAMCO. I have a Mercury Mountaineer that we brought in last year at the end of August, maybe early September to have all the timing chains replaced. We were told that the repair would be completed at the end of the week, or beginning of the next week. It is now almost a year later, the warranty on the repair is almost up, and not one time out of the LITERALLY 12+ times they have told me it's all done, has it actually been repaired satisfactorily.

To make an extremely long story shorter, they charged me full price to replace all of the timing chains which was over $3000, and then proceeded to only do half of the timing chains and not use the correct tools twice before actually replacing the third like they should have in the first place. This caused damage to the engine to where they had to replace it. They told us they were getting a low mileage engine that had been compression tested to put in it, but after months of asking for the paperwork on the engine they gave us an "invoice" that had the price they paid of zero, no mention of mileage, and no proof of any type of testing.

Within less than 500 miles of them putting this engine in, it reeked of antifreeze anytime it was driven, and then started leaking coolant. After taking it to the Ford dealership they found that the oil was dark and slightly burnt smelling, and that the water pump needed changed, along with the cooling system flushed due to a weird oily substance in the reservoir.

After taking it back to AAMCO to have them "fix" the problems the car STILL reeks of antifreeze anytime it is driven, the oil gets more burnt smelling, and the antifreeze reservoir is back to looking like it did. Although Kyle, the owner, has assured me that even when the warranty is up if something went wrong he would still honor it and put that in writing, he has yet to do so. He says that's not how he does business, but after nearly a year of dealing with his business I have been charged full price for a repair that was only half done numerous times, have been given a car back that is not repaired numerous times, and have been promised things that I haven't received... Again numerous times. As I have told Kyle, at this point I do not trust his word, and quite frankly I do not trust his mechanics either after everything we have gone through.

This most recent time they had it they promised it back in 4 days. On the 5th day they told me they had to pull the transmission again and would do this the next morning Sat. and would have it back to me Tue. I called them on Tue. am to see when it would be ready to pick up and they told me they haven't even removed it yet. No communication from them to let me know it was delayed or why until I called them. They told me they could not fit it in after saying I would have it back on that day. So now I have to rent a vehicle for another week. No apology whatsoever. I recommend never using them to anyone.

He found that the cable had broken at the shifter. It was repaired within 30 minutes of arrival and at no charge, since he found the repair part on site left over from a previous job. Considering the way I have been treated in the past, it was nice to find an honest and helpful business. They have my recommendation to anyone with transmission issues.

WARNING BULLY MEN who take advantage of people and SCAM them. They were aware I was a newly single newly disabled mom and they took full advantage of me. This place prided themselves an "all vet" staff, and since my brother and grandfather are decorated military gentlemen, I thought I would be in good hands. Quite the opposite indeed. Since I had multiple problems I will be writing multiple reviews, one for each of the separate problems. I took my car in for an OIL CHANGE. They "broke" the oil canister cap when taking it off the car, and told me this was a common thing to happen. So then they charged me to replace the part they broke (unprofessional in my opinion) making a remark about how Uncle Sam needed to be paid as well.

They also told me the case of synthetic oil I brought in was the wrong type. (My vehicle is only 4 years old and prior to this had only been serviced at the dealer.) 5W-30 has always been used on this vehicle, but they declared I had to have 5W-20. They said they had oil they could sell me and then I could just return the oil I brought in (in hindsight this was the second unnecessary charge, and we are only 5 minutes into my service...).

Shortly after my service, my car began to leak fluid all over my driveway. I asked my neighbor to come help me figure out what is going on. He said it looked like an oil leak, so I took my car back to AAMCO and told them about my driveway being full of oil. They checked the car and said it was fine and there was no oil leak. Perplexed I went back home and this time my neighbor crawled under my car, took pictures for me, and said it is definitely an oil leak. I told him AAMCO said it wasn't and he told me to take it to the dealer, as AAMCO was obviously trying to take advantage of me.

I took my car to the dealer and they said coincidentally they had a rash of vehicles come in for service which were recently serviced at AAMCO and all told the oil canister "broke" when taking it off the car. They also mentioned with the thousands of cars serviced at their dealership, they had never heard of such a thing, nor "broke" oil canisters when taking them off themselves. They then looked at my car and told me it was leaking oil, and the aftermarket oil canister AAMCO put on did not fit properly, so it was leaking oil. They knew I was in distress since I already told them I tried to take it back to AAMCO and they denied there was a problem. The dealer nicely provided me with a oil canister made to fit my vehicle and did not charge me labor, they only charged me for the part (excellent customer service).

I took the receipt and information back to AAMCO and asked that they refund me for the part I just had to purchase, which replaced the non fitting part they put on my car, which replaced the original part of mine they broke. They said no, but they could check with the manager and see what he said. I waited for weeks and never heard back. Yesterday I stopped by AAMCO to see if I could talk directly to the manager. The first thing they said was, "We called you several times and each time your phone was disconnected..." Strange since I have had the same phone number for 25+ years...? Anyway, then they said the manufacturer would reimburse them for the faulty part, so they could provide me a refund for the cost of the part. When I asked them what the cost of the part was they said $22. The part they broke and I had to replace was $70, as I showed them the receipt.

That was when the manager started to yell at me, declaring he was not going to pay for the part I bought at the dealer. I reminded him I first came back to them for a resolve, and they denied there was a problem, leaving me no choice but to go elsewhere. He claimed his guys had years of experience and if they said there was no problem, then there was no problem. Prior I had showed them the pictures, and currently they had the oil covered part in their possession... He continued to argue with me, so I suggested a compromise, maybe we could meet 1/2 way since there was such a price discrepancy. He said no. I said that does not make me feel very good, and his reply was in a yelling voice "I don't care about your feelings".

So I politely decided to end the conversation stating I was very sorry to hear that they run their business this way, and I would be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau, as well as taking them to small claims court, and I began to leave. This made him furious and he began yelling at me more, coming out from behind the counter and following me to the door. I told him to be careful what he said as I would also be writing a Yelp review. He followed me outside to the parking lot and threatened me screaming if I try to hurt him, he will hurt me back. I felt very threatened and walked with my cane to my car as quickly as I could. I will be contacting a lawyer Monday.

AAMCO located at 1027 E Gun Hill Rd Bronx NY. I went there in October 2017 because the pressure sensor in my 2016 Nissan Altima went bad in my transmission, The sensor only cost $30 but they insisted that they do not repair transmission only replace or swaps. Ok cool. So they told me it would cost $2700. I didn't have the money up front but they get you by offering their credit program... THE transmission was a used 1 with 5 miles that came from Altima. that was crashed on its way to the dealer so they took the transmission out of that Altima and gave it to me... that's the story THEY gave me. Mind you anyone knows any time a car has a accident their parts can have Internal Damage so I agree to pay the $2700 back in October 2017.

NOW for these five months the transmission was running pretty good. All of a sudden it starts jerking hard and knocking hard. Again remember the transmission came out of a vehicle that had a accident = internal PROBS down the line. So I took my car to ** OWNER OF THE BRONX NY LOCATION ON GUN HILL. TOLD HIM THE ISSUE... NOW THE BS BEGINS. All of a sudden I need my receipt because he barely remembers me and also * his hard drive went down so he can't pull my receipt. Also I misplaced my receipt. I had 2 call corporate for them to locate my receipt # then they called ** and he says, "Ok good news. You're still under warranty." The warranty was 6 months from October 2017 until April I'm guessing.

STRIKE 2 HE TELLS ME, "NO WORRIES. I'LL CALL MY GUY AND ORDER YOU A NEW 1... SO LAST THURSDAY 3-15-18 he says it should be here by Friday-3-16-18 or by Monday 3-17-18. So bring it in on Tuesday will do a 1 day job swipe out. Tuesday I bring it and he says he has 2 move some cars it might be done by early Wednesday... But no worries. WED comes in New York we had a snow storm. All of a sudden he's not there and his assistant says it will be ready at 1030 am. I knew it was shady because a transmission job takes minimum 5 hrs. THEN ALL of a sudden he calls me and says, "The cars still has a jerk but no worries. You might have to go to the dealership and get a transmission reprogram because my software is down."

So I tell him, "How could you have changed my transmission and it still have the same issue?" He made a long lying excuse. So Wed goes and I leave it because it didn't sound right. Now we get to Thursday and he swore up and down that they changed it. The 2nd in command will be back shortly BUT THE owner won't be back till Monday. So Thursday 3-22-18 I pick the car up and I knew just how the car started. THEY never changed the transmission and that he was lying but ok let me be a good customer and go with the flow so I drive it and hear the same jerk. The transmission fluid had a burn smell and the rpm was rubbing high before shifting gears. So I go back and this time I go off on the 2nd in command and informed him.

The assistant manager name is ** by the way. Tall and heavy set guy. The 2nd in charge says, "Give us a second. Let me talk to ** about what's going on." 30 min later they tell me the diagnostic is reading a code. That means it needs a reprogram. I tell him again, "You guys did not swipe my old 1 out

The 2nd in charge name is **. He says, "Yes we did. But you have to go to the dealer and once they reprogram the tranny it will run good." So after a half day wasted I took all the info they gave me to give the dealer. The service dept tells me to reprogram your car = $300 plus tax. I spent $335 total. So I get the car back from the dealer SATURDAY morning 3-24-18. And it ran good for 10 min.

As I was heading home on the highway the Transmission starts going crazy. The Rpm goes almost to 7 and my car starts going a li'l wacko and i just dodged a accident. Lucky I was smart enough to make 5 videos of showing what the car was doing. I CURSED a couple times out of frustration but you guys can see for yourself. Through the grace of God the car drove 5 mph with my foot pushing the gas to the floor and it drove enough to just get me off the highway and 1 block from home where the transmission just blew. No power in drive or reverse and has a burnt smell. I am disgusted as a customer and I pray everyone reads this and reports these crooks because. I'M NOT GONNA let them get away with this. They lied to me and they used me and took advantage of me and I missed 5 days of work plus my Dealership bill was $335 of wasted money with no way to get a refund.

Do not take your car to AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care on 1377 S Loop W, Houston, TX 77054. I took my car in on 12/22 and met with **. He test drove the car with me and heard the noise etc and said yes it a transmission issue and will require a tear down which normally cost $600. If the findings are not replicated after the tear down as from his knowledge the warranty co will not cover this cost if nothing is located, I agreed and said since Christmas is approaching let's wait and I'll bring it back on 12/26.

Because of the Christmas holiday I decided to take my car to his shop on 12/28 and ** said he will process the claim and take of it, I forgot to ask him for the paperwork to sign giving him the approval on the tear down, so I called ** and told her I forgot to sign the tear down paperwork as ** may have forgotten to give it to me and don't want this to hold up the work. The receptionist put me on hold and spoke to ** and came and told me that it's not required and it will be fine, I was a bit surprised as this does not falls in line what we spoke about on the initial convo prior to Christmas on the tear down etc.

Called him on 12/29 and he said they have not done anything but will be getting to it over the weekend, come Jan 2nd I have not heard anything from him so I called him and said they are still figuring it out and have not done anything. Now this is already day 4 with the New Year holiday, ** finally called me on 1/3. 1st call I got from your shop as I had to do all the follow ups, informing me that they are not able to replicate the issue. AAMCO test drove the car on the 22nd and the 29th and heard it several times, so I asked him, "Have you process the tear down." He said no because they don't feel it's required.

Now this is the process. The warranty co ask them to follow and both went against it, come Jan 4th the tech called me and updated that my warranty co is not willing to work with them so I told him let me call them as I've been following up with them daily and they been telling me they are waiting for the findings from the tear down and have not heard from AAMCO yet, so I called my warranty co and she was surprised by what the tech told me so she said, "Let's do a conference call," and now all 3 of us on the phone the tech, CS and I, she confronted the tech and asked him about the statement he told me which I'd told her, he responded, "No I said we were not able to replicate the issue." She asked him why the tear down was not done. He confirmed that he doesn't believe it required as he cannot replicate the issue.

Now the issue is apparent and all he needed to do is his job and per our agreement to process the tear down to identify the main issue on the transmission, so him knowingly that once you start a claim and drove the car it will create an issue in the future as he have dealt with warranty co for years, the CS mentioned if he does not want to process the tear down due to him not feeling it is required then it doesn’t seems we can move forward with this claim and I asked would this be an issue in the future as I found something was not right here, she confirmed, "I cannot answer that questions."

My point here is AAMCO kept my car for 4 days and basically did nothing according to our initial agreement and now the warranty co is not willing to cover the repair now on the transmission which has now gotten worst and I'm now having to pay $ 2,500 which could have been avoided had they done what they had promised upon accepting my care and process the tear down per my and my warranty company. I'm very disappointed by the end result as I'm moved my case to the highest manager with my warranty co and he explained the complete process and his and my findings are fault of AAMCO as they did not follow the simple tear down request. They are always busy and never follow through with the work they promised you as they are taking on way too much work and not giving the customer the quality for what you will be paying them, do not take your car to this shop. Try elsewhere and save yourself the hassle.

So in the last 11 months I’ll be spending over $9,000.00 for a repair that should be under a warranty regardless of miles. It’s less than a year old. After I left CA I had to stop two times to get a leaking pan fixed, ended up going to Dodge to fix the leak. A cork gasket was installed by AAMCO 3 times. Dodge told me a cork gasket was the wrong gasket to use. Why??? Why is it costing me $ 9000.00 and how long will this one last??? At the cost of $3,200.00 a transmission should last more the 11 months. This transmission was also serviced by Ram after the rebuild at 4 months oil, filters and so forth as per AAMCO in CA. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! They had my car for 2 weeks. The price to have my transmission looked at went from $85 to $380 to $980. Throughout the whole process the communication was horrible. The entire time I only spoke to the receptionist/office manager and when I asked if the technician looking at my car would call me she told me he was too busy. After the first week she told me that they were short on technicians and it would be another week before they could tell me what was wrong. The first week I was told that there was absolutely no water damage to the transmission because "their technicians are extremely thorough and water is the first thing they looked for".

When they asked me to approve the $980 I told them I was not paying $5000 for a rebuild. I was told that it would be nowhere near that and that was closer to the price the dealer would charge me which is the only reason I approved the $980. She also quoted me the price of a transmission from the dealer at $3300 so of course their price would be much lower she assured me. So the second week I receive a call from what I assume is the shop manager. I don't recall his name. I tells me he was gone the previous week and asks me to come down to go over their diagnosis. My boyfriend and I go down there and my transmission is on a cluttered table. At one point the "builder" had to remove parts of another car that were for some reason all mixed up with my transmission parts on the table.

As for water damage proof, all the builder showed me was a disc that, according to him, had damage to the seal. I didn't see it. They also said that the metal had been from my torque converter which was bad. That was it. We asked the "builder" if he would replace the torque converter and speed sensor, which was throwing the error code. He said yes, he would try to do that to save us some money. But the shop manager was not having it.

As soon as we went back into the office, he blurts out it was going to be $5500 for a rebuild and he would not replace just the converter and speed sensor. I never even got a chance to look at the estimate if there was even one prepared. He then said that he called the dealer and a new transmission was $3900. Once again much different than what I was told the previous week. By the end of the 2nd week I had my car towed out of there nothing repaired, with my transmission in a box now in my backseat and out $680. Their shop is a real mess too. Tons of old transmissions and parts are stacked up the walls with clutter everywhere. I have never experienced such dishonesty. Real scam artists. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!

My husband and I were traveling to see our son's fiance graduate from her training at Fort Lee, VA. On the way home our Temperature light for the transmission came on. Got off the Interstate and stopped at an Auto Parts Store. Explained our car has a CV transmission and you can't check the fluid. Referred us to an Aamco Station in Fredericksburg just a few miles away. When we arrived we were met by the mechanic. Explained the issue. He stated that it could be as simple as a $250 sensor or the transmission would have to be redone $1495. Said it would take a few days. We had to get back home to Northern PA so we rented a truck (of course that is all they had available) from a rental dealer up the road and headed home. Office manager said they would contact within a day or 2.

Contacted us the next day stating that it was going to cost $2500. Said the transmission looked as though it would have to be rebuilt. Questioned the work and price. Mechanic said he had to look into further. Called back the next day stating it was going to cost $4500. After pure panic struck I thought I should call another Aamco dealer to get another opinion. Spoke with Mike at the West Seneca, NY Aamco station. Explained the entire situation and he agreed with the price and that his station would service the warranty. I asked several times to verify that they would look at it if any problems occurred and he assured me the warranty was good at his station. After a couple of weeks of trying to get the Fredericksburg station to finish the job they finally gave us a day to travel back to pick up our car. We had to rent another vehicle to get there. 7 hour trip one way. Got there and our car was not there.

Office Manager said that it was towed to a dealer to get reprogrammed with the new parts. Waited for 1 1/2 hours. Still no car. Explained we had a 7 hour drive to go back and wanted to get back on the road. He called the person that supposedly had our car and they said they were on their way to the dealer. My question, where was our car for the last 1 1/2 hours???? He told us we could go to the dealer to pick up our car. We had wired the money to them prior to picking it up. Dumb. I know. Gave us directions, drove to dealer. No car. Spoke with the Service Manager stated that our car had just been brought in a few minutes ago and that mechanics were on lunch. Then stated he hoped the programming goes through because if it doesn't there is nothing they can do. At this point I'm about to vomit.

After waiting over an hour they finally brought our car out stating it was reprogrammed. Then handed us a bill for over $100. We stated that we were under the impression that this was part of our $4500 bill we had already paid. Office clerk said she was never explained any different than us paying. After explaining our ordeal she contacted the Aamco Office Manager which then gave her the owner's cell #. After some convincing from her he paid over the phone. Finally on our way. We get 3 hours into the trip the car starts jerking. Would surge. Kept pulling over to put in Neutral, wait, then start again. Would continue to do it. My husband called the Aamco station. Manager says it's the new parts trying to catch up with the old parts. After about 20 miles it just stops surging. Ran fine the rest of the trip.

After 2 weeks it starts bogging down and making clicking noises when I start off and stop. Call to make an appointment with the West Seneca Aamco. Mike has us bring it up. Both of us take a day off of work as we have to leave it there. This is a 1 1/2 hour drive one way for us. Closest Aamco. Had it there for the week. Mike calls states it's not the transmission. Take it to 2 mechanics and a Jeep Dealer (It is a Jeep Patriot). Had the brakes and lines replaced. Had to have 2 new tires and realigned as they were bald due to one of the Aamco stations not realigning it after they were finished doing whatever they did to it, had new spark plugs replaced and a new CV axle put in. All trying to find the issues. After all of that all 3 places stated it is the Transmission. Call Mike in West Seneca, NY back. Tell him what we were told.

Jeep Dealer Service manager even called him and told him after they looked it over twice they to feel it is surely the transmission. Made another appointment. Took it up again. It was there for over a month. Finally told us that they have not even looked at it. Called Corporate and made a Complaint. The woman I have been dealing with has only been giving me lip service. She called and spoke with owner. West Seneca then towed it to the Amherst, NY Aamco station. It was there for 2 more weeks. Dealt with a different manager. Assured all was fixed. Drove it home after making another trip up to get it. Did not even get home. Stopped at a store about an hour away and still making clicking noises. Called Corporate. The woman wants us to take it back again. After arguing and being pretty much told we did not have a choice, but this time he would pay for a rental car for me.

I took another day off of work. As they are closed on Saturdays. Assured by the Aamco Corporate Claim Rep and the Office Manager that the owner would reimburse me for the rental. A rental company is just about 1/2 mile down the road from the station. Was contacted by the Amherst Office Manager that it was finally fixed and they felt very confident that they fixed the problem. Found a crack. Drove up, this time the manager met us on a Saturday. Asked about the rental reimbursement, they will send me a check. I knew where this was going. After a week the problem is still there. Called Corporate Rep. Explained I never was reimbursed and the problem is still there. She called me back said they wanted it back, and my check is in the mail. Called Amherst, NY. Different person as Office Manager is on Medical leave for having surgery.

Said he wanted me to bring it up so he could take a look at it and guide him to what is going on and then I could drive it back so he could order parts then I would have to bring it back. I have 2 jobs. It is extremely difficult for me to get anywhere without a vehicle. We live in a very rural area. 12 miles from 1 job and 25 miles from another. I have an elderly mother that I care for that I have to drive to several appointments. I still owe on my car. Cannot afford to try to trade a crappy running car in for a new car. Especially seeing as we had to take a partial loan out to cover the $4500 initial bill. The expense has been tremendous. The inconvenience has been ridiculous and the lack of responsibility from Aamco in every aspect has been so very disappointing. I would not recommend Aamco to anyone.

They have screwed me. I have never been reimbursed for the rental and the Corporate Rep that told me she would call me every week until this was resolved has not contacted me in almost a month. I do not even know what to do at this point. I refuse to take any more time off of work and I refuse to inconvenience anyone to drive me up there and I certainly refuse to spend any more money on this entire issue. I can't afford it anyway.

Dropped our car off at AAMCO in Brighton Colorado on Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Got a call from Casey advising our transmission was bad and quoted 2,700-3,300. At that time we asked about the 100.00 dollar coupon. He said he would accept at pickup. They advised that our 2011 Equinox would be completed by Friday the same week. Friday comes and no call so we call them to find out the car is not ready due to the wrong seals being ordered. They said it would be ready the following Tuesday's. I called Monday to double check. They said quote was still the same. They would honor original quote and the car would not be ready until Wednesday or Thursday. We get a call Wednesday saying it was ready and would cost 3,427.00. I called them upset that they quoted less and basically raised the cost so the coupon didn't even count.

CASEY THE MANAGER personally told me over the phone he would go in and adjust the invoice and the final cost would be 3,227.00. He asked when we would be there, I advised Friday or Monday at the latest. He said, “Well let's plan on Friday so we can pay for the parts so we'll see you Friday,” basically trying to bully me into when I was able to get car. Didn't matter how long we already had to wait and their mistakes. We went on Monday to pick up. They charged us 3,316.00. When my husband brought up the conversation I had with Casey who he was dealing with Casey blatantly lied to his face and said, “I told your wife 3,400.00”. He had absolutely no integrity and we are so disgusted with this place. I will never recommend anyone to this location.

I had a bad experience with the AAMCO on Pawnee Meridian. I was promised my 95 Ford Mustang would be done in a week prior to when I brought it to their shop. But then on that last day I had to contact them to see how if it was done yet and it wasn’t. So I’m ok with that because I’m thinking they're taking more time on it to make sure everything is put together the right way. But the real ready is they got busy with other cars. So I finally get my car back on November 23 2017 when I took it to the shop on November 11, 2017 and was told by their customers service guy it would be done by Saturday of that week. It’s seem to amaze me that it would’ve been done that fast but I listen to them and trusted him that it had been done by that Saturday.

So I contacted franchise owner because I have had my motor done by his place before by a different mechanic and they did a great job but the guy that did my other car which is 84 K5 Blazer got let go. So then the mechanic calls in on that Saturday and I was promised I would have it by Monday of the next week. I did not get it on that Monday. I got it on the Wednesday after which is on November 23, 2017 and then four days later as I have my car from their shop it catches fire and they try to blame it on a relay from my fan when my car was not overheating at all. I talk to the fire department and they said it was a crossed wire that was wrong. They claim they have nothing to do with electrical issue but I know you have to pull every wire that connects to the motor before you put a new motor in and every wire and component should’ve been checked thoroughly before I got my car.

AAMCO transmissions was the worst choice my family could have ever made. We paid them 3000 to rebuild our transmission and replace universal joints. 15 min after we were assured it was safe and fixed the driveshaft fell out in the middle of Hwy 29 almost causing a deadly wreck, they sent a rollback to get it, kept car again for weeks then eventually said it was fixed and safe again. 2 weeks later had to take it back again because wouldn't shift correctly, once again after a month and pulling transmission yet again they supposedly fixed it. Only for us to take it back again, yep they pulled the transmission again and assured us it was fixed.

After 2 weeks there was a lot of vibration and rattling around shifter, come to find out all shifter boot screws were missing and shifter bolts were loose, then transmission wouldn't shift correctly so we took it back again only for them to take transmission out for the 3rd time. That was 6 months ago and now they want another 1200$ to fix it! We hired a lawyer because the so called mechanic safety, not returned calls, and called my sister a liar, and this mechanic named Mike ** is now threatening her, told her if she doesn't pay more money he's confiscating her car. He has lied, put people's lives in danger and called her a liar, all to cover his own ** for the sorry job he did on her car.

There has been nothing but problems since he supposedly fixed the car. He talks to and treats women like they're stupid and we are pursuing legal action against him personally and AAMCO. Using AAMCO was the worst decision we ever made, they not only do not stand behind their work, which was terrible, but put my family and other people's lives in danger. The car was better before they worked on it. This is nothing but extorting a woman out of more money. So now we can't get car because they are keeping the transmission out of it until they get thousands more, while Mike ** threatens my family with confiscating the car. She has decided to spend whatever it takes on our lawyer to make sure that Mike ** is exposed for the sexist liar he is. He hides behind corporate like he is not responsible. If Mike ** knew what he was doing why did he have to redo the job 3 times. He is nothing but a sexist liar who has no concern with customer's safety.

So I jacked it up and looked myself to notice right away that when they installed the pan they tore the gasket. So after they told me they had 3 mechanics look at it and it took an amateur to figure out was wrong... this place is a joke.

I had an issue with my car not accelerating, the RPMs would be at the highest level but the mph would not pass 20 or 30. Had Aamco do the diagnosis on my car which was like an hour, they came back with Catalytic converter, radiator and a belt. Estimated that the whole job would run about $1000.00. This was on 7/3/2017. On 7/5/2017 they called me saying "someone messed up and sent the wrong converter." Now the new piece was another $200.00. So pissed as I was, I agreed for them to change and fix the part. Knowing myself had the money that day so I would not spend it I went to make the payment. When I got there I paid 600.00 in cash, and was going to pay the balance on my card. So the person at the desk told me just pay the rest tomorrow when I was going to pick up my car.

So as to give me a receipt of the cash he printed out a paper, and then as I looked at the bottom it read big as day "paid in full", he kindly ripped that part off. So the next day 7/6/2017, I go to pick up my car, since it was bothering me so much asked about the prior day receipt. Couldn't give me an invoice of the converter that supposedly cost more, but then wouldn't give me copies of the initial estimate, so I took screen shots with my phone. Since then the car started to do the same thing, with the speed. The guy who gave me my estimate is no longer there, but the new guy said he'd take care of me. I was so pissed off I called Corp, not much help they were.

They called the shop, to try to see what was still wrong, Corp asked me to take it back to them. Two days and still no word on anything, my car was just parked in the lot, no one making any move to fix it. Then they say it's a speed sensor, we're only going to charge you the price of the part, no labor. On the third day I call and ask, "what's going on? " At this point the guy was about to tell me that it wasn't the speed sensor, I got so frustrated, I let them know I was coming for my car. Last note of these guys, I pick up my car the guy shows me a speed sensor that's brand new never put on car, that was it for me. I took my car, on the way home I noticed that the check engine light is on, and now it sounds worse than before! So disappointed in the fact that they don't care about how they cheat people. I would never thought such a well known company can conduct business like this.

The thing is I just had my fuel pump replaced at Pep Boys a couple of months ago and it was still under warranty, so I had my car towed there (mind you at Pep Boys I only paid 500 something for this service). Not saying that Pep Boys is any better than them because they have zero regard for people's time but at least they didn't try to rob me of a month's paycheck. I'm 19 and in college, I don't have 1000 dollars to blow on a 3000 dollar car. A manager told me that they will do a free diagnostic to figure out what is wrong with my car and will call me later. After a week when I called to check what is with my car the manager told that they are still working on it but price will be around 5700$ now! Since It was too much (a new transmission costs around this price) I asked them to give the car back, the manager told me that they can do it but I have to pay around 1000$.

After some time they agreed to do it for 4700$ and since I didn't want to pay 1000$ for nothing, I asked them to proceed for 4700$ Today their owner called me and told that they actually can't fix the transmission, they can only replace it to used one if I find, buy and ship it. The short story is transmission was shifting erratically and going into limp mode. Brought it in and after their basic diagnostic said they had to rip trans apart. Rip it apart, show me the parts and tell me it's shot. Now I'm no trans specialist but I have been working on cars and transmissions for 30 years. The parts that they showed me barely had a mark on them but they insisted they had to replace the abundance of them. The trans fluid never smelt burnt or anything. Parts were still nice and shiny looking like new for the most part. Let them do the rebuild and they call me up and tell me the transmission is doing the same thing it did when I brought it in.

So now I've dropped $2500 to have the same problem. Since no one else is going to work on the trans at this point I let them figure it out. Turns out the problem was a $350 solenoid pack that was put in 4 months earlier. How on earth did they not run diagnostics on that. It's electrical on this trans. They put in the part and miraculously the trans shifts great. I brought that part up to Chris, the manager, showed him AAMCO's lovely little sign about if they put in parts the trans does not need they would take them out and was promptly insulted. He actually had the guts to tell me "I thought I was talking to someone mechanical". Well jackass was, me. I have no choice at this point but to pay the bill since I need the truck.

Waited a month to file this since I wanted to make sure the truck would work. I should have seen this coming. Chris, in conversation had mentioned how bad he screwed up his credit in small talk between us when we ran mine for the lovely AAMCO credit card. I thought he was going to fall from the chair when he told me "Wow, you've got great credit. You got a $4500 limit". All in all the trans that didn't need to be rebuilt, since it needed a $350 part cost me $2866.32. I'm not even sure the other parts were in fact replaced. As good as they looked they could have been put right back in. I suppose that would help Chris' credit dilemma.

So the bottom line is AAMCO needs to fix this or I file a complaint with the city of Crest Hill, every agency I can in Will County and the Illinois States Attorney. I figure the total job should be worth about $500, $350 for the part and labor. Diagnostics, which they totally screwed up, the parts they said were wrong, and weren't since a $350 part fixed the transmission, and any incidentals are AAMCO's problem.

When I got there he was busy so I said I'd leave the car. I gave him the coupon but he said, "No need" It was ok. He would call me the next morning. He calls me the next day and says that he would need to open up the transmission at a cost of $750.00 for a down payment. He could not tell me what was wrong with the trans nor could he give me a completed price. I said, "forget it". I was coming for the car. When I got there, the guy would not take 'no' for an answer. He said he liked my car and would fix the trans and if it was too much money, he would just keep the car. WHAT? I said, "No, get my keys" and he kept stalling and stalling.

When I finally demanded my keys or else, he said I owed him $109.00 for a evaluation. He said he worked 2 hours yesterday and 2 hours today on it. Once again I said "WHAT?" I said they could not even tell me what was wrong with the trans. He kept refusing to give me the keys and the car so I called the Toms River Police. Two officers showed up and I told him the story. He asked me if I signed anything which I did not. The officers asked the owner to turn over the keys to me and they still refused. Finally the officers told the guy at Aamco that if he did not turn over the car and keys to me immediately, that he would be arrested for theft. At that point, I finally got my car back. I had full brake pads front and back, and rotors on the front applied along with a master cylinder in 2014. For almost over $800.00. About 3 months ago my brakes started squeaking when I backed out of the driveway each day. Since I have a 4 year old grandchild that I very frequently transport to her home to mine. I wanted to make sure that my brakes were good. They felt good, but just to verify. I have been going to this AAMCO for over 10 years and felt I could trust them. So, I dropped off my car at 8:30 AM on Oct. 12, 2016 (per their request) and waited for the call. And I took off work in order to be available to drop off and pick up that day. At 3PM on 10/12, I received a call telling me my rear brake rotors on the rear, were warped and the charge to replace them and pads would be 613.75. They would give me $50.00 discount and I had a $25.00 coupon, so the price would be 538.95. It should be ready by noon the next day.

I explained I had taken off work the previous day and only had the one vehicle, but it did not matter. On 10/13, I received a call at 9:30 AM telling me my vehicle was ready. I reminded them I would need a ride in, (their courtesy offer) and after missing a second day of work (and a very unhappy boss) someone showed up after 1:30 PM to pick me up. It is 6 miles between my home and the repair shop. First, I feel I was WAY overcharged for only installing two rotors/pads and they charged me $52 to clean my front brakes. Actual total for the bill was $614.00. GET REAL!! I questioned why my ceramic pads (they told me in 2014 they put the good pads on, ceramic) were bad after 2 years and was told that that is the life of most brake pads.

I am a single mom and on limited income so I will not be returning to this location 80907 for any further repairs. The time they kept my vehicle was appalling (29 hours) to merely do what was done to the vehicle and their schedule cost me an extra day's work resulting from AAMCO's next day's repairs and time I picked up my vehicle. NEVER again will I give AAMCO my business. Due to their excessive price and the time it took this time. This makes me sad because the mechanic mgr Steve there is a good honest guy. I do know I can trust him that the work needed was done.

This happened at the Leesburg, VA, AAMCO (same owner has three other AAMCO's in the area). Worst repair shop experience of my life - three months and running to fix a transmission for $6,100. I took the car in in late June (2016), got it back in late August after two months of lies from them, then, three days later, the transmission they rebuilt failed. They took three weeks to fix the second transmission, which then failed two days after that. It is almost October and I'm waiting for them to fix the transmission for the third time. Terry Bradley, the owner of the Leesburg, Chantilly, Sterling and Ashburn AAMCO locations, broke more than 10 promises that the vehicle would be completed very soon, in a few days, or some such claim. His staff promised to keep me updated, but (and I document all of this) failed to do so 13 out of 14 times over the three-month period.

After three weeks back in July, they told me they would pay for a rental car because of all the delays, but then, when I went to pick the vehicle up, they argued that the rental car bill was too high from the rental car company, Enterprise, that they sent me to (the owner finally did cover the bill). I was also charged $600 more - $6,100 instead of $5,500 - than the store manager originally told me the transmission rebuild would cost. The first round, they also forgot to install two parts - strut caps - that they were supposed to install while they had the transmission removed. They then forgot to order those strut caps during the second transmission fix.

Terry refused to offer me a rental car during the second and third rebuilds of the transmission even though he took several weeks longer than such a rebuild should take. So, I spent about $400 on a rental car while they apparently left my car sitting in their lot until they got around to fixing it. I would avoid any of these Loudoun/Fairfax County AAMCOs because they use the same mechanics and the owner of all four treats people the same way. I've already contacted the BBB and AAMCO about this experience. For their reputation, they should immediately cut ties with this group of four shops.

I took my car into this AAMCO on 9/6/16 because my check engine light had come on and I wanted them to do the free diagnostic reading to figure out what the problem was. Enrique, the manager, did the reading in under an hour and told me that the code had read that it was a "small emissions problem" and a smoke test would be required to see where exactly the air leakage was coming from. He told me that it would cost $250 for the smoke test and it would take 2 days to do it because they have to search very slowly for leaks.

I told Enrique that that price was very expensive and I couldn't afford it. He told me that anywhere I go I would have to get the test done to figure out what the problem was with the car. He said at least at AAMCO they could give me a print out of my diagnosis and I could take the car wherever I liked to get the repairs done if I didn't want to continue fixing it with their company. I authorized them to do a smoke test on 9/7/16 and found out that I was actually overcharged for the test. I asked World Auto Body and One Stop Auto Body in Eagle Rock how much a smoke test should cost, and they gave me values in between $75-$120.

On 9/8/16, I got a call from Enrique who explained that there was "vacuum pressure loss at the Vapor/Vacuum lines above the Gas Tank. The fuel tank would need to be removed (lowered) to inspect and repair those lines/hoses." The cost of that labor would be $620. I could not afford that price so I got a print out of this diagnosis, paid with my credit card for the smoke test. I decided to take the car someplace else for the remainder of the repairs. That same day, I brought the car to One Stop Automotive Repair in Eagle Rock and gave the manager Narcisso the print out or the diagnosis that AAMCO had done for me. I asked how much it would be to repair the vacuum lines or any leakages at the gas tank. He printed out an estimate of $350.

On 9/9/16, Narcisso did his own check engine light reading. He confirmed that "the malfunction code P0442 is active." He performed his own smoke test before lowering the fuel tank. He "smoked the evap service and removed the rear seat to inspect the fuel pump seal and found the seal to be well sealed at the time." He also "checked the fuel cap and the cap did not smoke and the cap seemed to be fairly new." There were no leaks in the vacuum lines. His smoke test diagnosed a different problem than AAMCO. He found that the "evap canister to be leaking". He recommended that the canister be replaced.

I was told by Narcisso that the misdiagnosis by AAMCO was grounds to ask for a refund for my smoke test reading. Not only was I overcharged by their garage but they said there was a problem with my car that didn't even exist. I have pictures and a video from the smoke test that Narcisso did to prove that there is only smoke coming out of the EVAP canister. The pictures and video show no smoke coming out of the fuel tank or vacuum lines.

First time I've been gaslighted as a sales pitch. I was misled, tricked. Once a car is taken apart, you're pretty much stuck and they know that. I paid to have my transmission resealed and if there were any additional parts needed, those would be extra. In other words, my transmission fluid must have been the right color and my car must not have shown signs of being damaged. My car was driving and shifting perfectly. No, take my car apart and then tell me I need my transmission rebuilt so that I can't take it to another mechanic or even donate it; a car must be complete.

So I try to get my car out of there, part of what I paid for being putting my car back together. No. Then I'm told it will take a couple of days. Then I get a multitude of sales pitches. I just want to tow my car out of there. Then they tried to charge me another 695 to put my car back together. They tried to tell me that I had agreed to a different service that didn't include the putting my car back together; I was being gaslighted. I'm not going back without a tow truck to rescue my car. So my car is still there. Still not sure what I'm going to do. I was googling RICO and racketeering and they meet the criteria.

How can we file a class-action lawsuit against them to stop these predatory practices? My daughter is grown. I can't imagine the stress they cause low-income families. Or their shady loan practices. Are people getting in serious financial trouble from being taken by these predators? This has been ridiculously stressful. How can a place that is so corrupt be able to legally operate in the United States of America? On the bright side, if you really hate someone, a gift certificate for AAMCO would be a great revenge. Please God, help me set my car from.

I the AAMCO in Sherwood Oregon really screwed me. I took my car in to get a oil pressure line on a fuel pump put in. Well it was on December 7th of 15 and when I got the car back and as I was driving it home it started killing off. Finally died. I pulled over to the side of the road. Try to start it again and it just click click so I went in, look under the front of the car under the hood and here there was a oil leak that leaked on the front of the plastic not on the motor so I didn't see no smoke. Well I had a tow truck. I called and called and called. A tow truck came and picked it up and brought it back there and they told me that it was their fault that the oil pressure line had not been tightened down and it blew off. Well then they said they had to keep the car and machine it because the motor was seized.

Well I had a bunch of oil leak problems. After that I found I could get the Mac Auto just about a week ago and they told me or they showed me I should say the underneath of the car because AAMCO told me they fixed all the oil leaks and it kept leaking but now called or showed me that it was all blue sealant all the way along the bottom of the motor. They tried filling it up with blue gasket sealant and it's just leaking through that and on top of it all my car was shaking after that and I called it AAMCO on that and I said "oh yeah you need a modem or AAMCO headset." My car motor on to my friend and left it sit there and I'm just really really disappointed and I'm guy and if anybody out there knows how I can get help to deal with people like this please let me know because I got to do something. I got a one-year-old baby and it's just terrible.

All AAMCO could be that way and they're saying they ain't going to fix anything else and I need to do some so this is my story about AAMCO. Don't ever take your vehicle to the Sherwood Oregon and call because they really screw people over that are disabled. I'm on SSI and they screwed me over so don't ever take your car there and on top of it all the manager told me that he could not tell his boss or he would be fired. Volvo and Mac auto pros said they should have put another motor in instead of rebuilding the bottom of the motor as it can cause a lot of other parts to fail.

Brought my 2004 Ford Van in for transmission repair. After a "free" check, I was told they couldn't determine what needed to be repaired unless they took my transmission apart (cost over $750.00 - no repairs included). At this time I was also told if it needed just the normal repairs the total cost would be $1350.00 (this included the $750.00 take apart charge). I was also told if "hard parts" were needed it would result in additional costs. I gave them the go ahead. I was called back and told there was a lot of damage and the cost would be $3500.00. I told the service manager that felt I should just junk the car and limit my loss to the $750.00 evaluation fee (which I deeply regret not doing).

The service manager then tells me the car is in such great shape that it should be repaired and I could get probably another 10 years out of it. I told him I couldn't afford the cost and he got instant approval for an AAMCO credit card with a $5500.00 limit. I finally agreed to the repairs but only to the quoted cost of $3500.00. Six days go by and I call to find out if my car is ready. I was told yes, but they were doing some final test and I could pick it up the next morning. About 15 minutes later, I get a call back telling me that the total charge would be nearly $4000.00. I told him that I was quoted just under $3500.00 and was told that this new total was due to sales tax (which I was lead to believe was included in the $3,500.00) and a whole bunch of additional charges I was never told about and did not approve. Even if the sales tax was not included as I was lead to believe it would have only been $245.00, not bringing the bill up to $4000.00.

The call was ended by the service manager telling me that I would see everything on the bill when I came in to pick up my vehicle the next day. I feel I was deliberately misled to achieve additional profits and this happened with them knowing (I told them about my health issues and I have to wear a Life Vest (an external defibrillator) which is visible to anyone) I am a disabled senior with major heart issues (congestive heart failure) that will probably lead to death in the near future. My conversations with AAMCO Winter Haven have produced no results or efforts to correct these problems.

I get there on Monday, Apr 4, and asked about my options. After the diagnostic they told me that the transmission needs to be replaced. "How is that?" I asked. "You are a transmission company, can you just repair it?". And you know what? NO! THEY CANNOT REPAIR! They can only rebuilt it! And rebuilding will cost $3500.

And they told me, that it would be better just to put in a used transmission. "Ok. Do you have one?" asked I. They told me that they will find a used transmission for me. After few hours of waiting they told me that they've got a used transmission for $1100. I asked about the warranty on this transmission and this Kevin the manager told me that it is 90 days parts and labor warranty. I thought it was a very great deal and I agreed. He made a photo copy of my credit card information. As I stuck in Fairview Heights with my wife and child, I had not much options to choose from. I left my car there at AAMCO and asked my friend to pick us up. And that day, 04-04-16, we left for our home in Omaha, NE.

On 04-06-16 my card was charged for $1100 for a transmission. The next day Kevin called me to tell the car is ready but they cannot charge my card because of some issues. I told him that I will be there on Friday, Apr 8, and pay in person. I took a bus to get to St. Louis and then an Uber to get to Fairview Heights. Everything seemed to be good, I paid $900 for labor in cash, except I noticed that in AAMCO receipt there is not a single word about the transmission itself. I asked this Kevin about it and after that he gave me an invoice for this transmission assembly from Something Auto Parts to Kevin's and AAMCO name. After that I managed to drive back safely to Omaha.

In two weeks this transmission failed. I brought the car to local AAMCO in Omaha with all the papers from Fairview Heights AAMCO and left. The next day they called me and told that Fairview Heights AAMCO refused to pay for this warranty repair because I HAD BOUGHT THE TRANSMISSION MYSELF and THERE IS NO WARRANTY FOR THE LABOR!!! I tried to explain that I didn't bought anything by myself, I ordered a comprehensive transmission service. But all was useless! The local AAMCO manager said he doesn't care about anything! It is my problem to solve with Fairview Heights AAMCO shop! I tried to call Fairview Heights AAMCO several times. And the only thing I hear that I bought it myself and it's my problem now! This AAMCO shop just scams people by installing crappy parts, taking money for labor, and then reinstalling them again and again! Taking money for labor again and again! That's quite a business!

And you know what they include to their "parts and labor warranty"?? WARRANTY FOR TRANS. OIL AND OIL FILTER!!! And when I decided to get my car back from local AAMCO shop, manager told me that I got what I deserve because didn't want to rebuild my transmission and just wanted to save some money! THEY ARE JUST BIG FAT SCAMMERS!!! Filing a claim to the court.

So, I paid them $3,618.39 to not fix my car. Further, I next took the car back to the Chevrolet service department and was told the transmission fluid was 2 quarts low and no leaks were found. They also said fluid that low could cause "possible internal damage due to lack of fluid". Draw your own conclusions. Never even consider using AAMCO. The Petaluma shop has a manager with a very bad attitude and rude. If not fix the problem, I will take a swift legal action against AAMCO.

I know cars quite well and have been repairing my own vehicles for over 35 years. I used to work at several auto repair shops but quit the business because of rampant scams. I have a 2010 Toyota Tundra that was experiencing problems. I was on vacation in Cheyenne, WY and did not have my tools on hand, so I decided to stop into the AAMCO Transmissions in Cheyenne to have them check the problem. The truck felt like the auto transmission was slipping at low RPM's, but it also could have been a tune problem causing poor idle & low RPM performance. The shop said they would check the problem for free so I felt I had nothing to lose.

After getting the truck in the shop, the Manager called me and told me that indeed the transmission was faulty and that it was at risk of total failure at any moment. He warned me that failure to replace the transmission immediately could leave me stranded, and end up costing even more money. He was quite convincing. He gave me an estimate of some $4,500 to replace the transmission. Skeptical, I found someone with a decent of tools, and decided to check the problem myself. After a few minutes of testing I found that one of my fuel injectors was faulty, causing the poor performance, and rough running at low RPM. The transmission was not faulty at all, the engine was just misfiring at low speed. I replaced the faulty fuel injector at a cost of $85, and the truck ran perfectly again.

Please be warned before ever trusting an AAMCO Transmission shop. Several AAMCO franchisees have also posted warnings regarding the corporate offices. The complaints state that what I experienced is standard AAMCO operating procedures. Regardless of the true problem, get the customer's vehicle in the shop and replace the transmission, at a hefty price. AAMCO franchisees are told to follow certain pre-written scripts to convince customers that they need to replace transmissions that have no problems. Just do an internet search for "AAMCO scam" for detailed complaints.
