I called to get the protocol to have my car towed. The rep answered my questions and initiated putting me on the computer. The roadside asst. rep was helpful in finding a timely tow company. Car is at the dealer and I await conclusion of the process.

I was uncertain how I would be treated, I have never had my car serviced for maintenance by anyone I don’t know. I’m lucky enough to have several people that have been in the car culture and have turned their professional experience into a hobby of pride of ownership. It’s rewarding to know that the engine has failed internally and was in no way because of negligence. It’s a pleasure to deal with an honest company.

At this point it seems like each step in the claims process is compartmentalized. Each time I call it seems the process starts all over again. My car failed Friday Feb 4, 2022 and today is Thursday February 10. Still waiting.

I was asked to submit requested documents and given a easy to follow description of what was needed. Reaching the dept I needed was easy, the number was very accessible. I was given prompt return email about my claim.

My first time using CarShield warranty was unpleasant because the a/c repair mechanic said I needed more parts than necessary. A warranty rep had to go to the mechanic shop and determine exactly what parts I needed. Then the part I needed was in California. It took 7 days to fix my a/c and they not authorize a rental.

I received a call from the car warranty representative stating the faulty power seat is a covered issue and that he has coordinated an agreement with the repair company to fund the repair bill. Everything was handled in a manner that allowed me to clearly see I had an advocate in my corner. WOW!!!

You did not get full records showing that I brought the vehicle in first being told it was jumping due to a bent rim and I replaced the rim and all four tires. On drive home vehicle still did the jumping motion. Called dealership. Returned car for correct diagnosis. Did not negligently put car on road. Vehicle has been parked since November 10th. I have been off work for a double knee replacement. Unable to drive. My warranty should cover this as I did nothing wrong.

The representative from Rivertown Ford in Columbus, GA, contacted Car Shield on February 2, 2022, about an issue with the transmission in my Ford F150 and was told that the transmission was not covered. However, I contacted Auto Shield about the denial, and the representative stated no records showed that anyone had called about my vehicle. Nevertheless, the representative was very professional in handling my concerns and documented the reason for my call. He also advised me to contact Car Shield again with the representative from Rivertown Ford.
I am a disabled veteran from the US Army, living on a fixed income. I was told by a Car Shield representative when I purchased the warranty that if anything happened to my engine or transmission, I would be covered. However, after speaking with the representative on February 3, 2022, he explained that Car Shield might not cover electrical parts in the transmission, and I am not sure what is wrong other than the transmission slipping. I understand that I should have read the contract in detail before signing. Still, I assumed from Car Shield advertisements showing satisfied customers with engines and transmissions repaired, and I thought this was a safe company to trust for unseen vehicle problems. If possible, I would like to speak with someone about this issue. My name is Harvey **.

It takes a while for the insurance adjuster to come out and make a decision on how to fix the problem. Once the decision is made. The problem is solved. The work l had done was easy to fix and the mechanic that worked on my vehicle had it done fast.

I called for road side assistance and it was done without delay, the mechanic had done the check up and I had a claim number within a day. American Auto Shield is a great company to work with and easy to communicate with. I recommend this company to everyone.

This was my first time submitting a claim for repair. Representative was very professional, patient in answering my questions and did a great job of making sure this claim went through properly. All worked well with my repair shop who also said they had no problems with their interaction with the company.

Let me start with saying that this business: American Auto Shield and it's system company Carshield is a scam, a ponzi scheme, a bait and switch scheme. Any of the customer that is making any type of payments should stop the payments now and ask for their money back. This complaint is about claim #**, 2017 Ford F350 with a gold package from carshield (with a clause included in the payment for personal/business/commercial use).
The claim started on 9/24/2021, since then all the requested records/files were submitted, records from the service department about a high pressure pump failed, records going back 12 months, even records going back 4 years in an attempt to find something to deny a $11000 repair claim, restarting clock every time a new document was submitted to them. Service department at Jack Kane ford (in person of miss abbey ** - great person, that went above in beyond with this case) submitted all the necessary information, recommends the high pressure pump and the diesel lines and system to be replaced, even got a call from mr. Mark the main adjuster from AAS (3 adjusters were changed for this claim). Informed that the claim is pre-aproval and awaiting another department to review it.
Aas is milking the clock, still didn't inform me about what is going on and requests records and files of over 4 years old. It is 10/18/2021 and no calls or any type of communication from aas about what is the status of the claim. Aas is investing time and any effort in trying to deny the claim instead of getting their portion covered and move this repair. It's almost a month since the vehicle is at the repair facility.

Car has spent 12 days in shop, still waiting for approval for repairs. Seems repair center and Carshield approvers have issues communicating. I have had to become a middle man for information between them. This is not the way I understood this was suppose to work. This problem needs to be fixed and my car repaired.

I am hoping my Jeep Issues are COVERED by my Extended Warranty! My praises for AAS will be great if that ever happens! Although Customer Service is GREAT I am still waiting for the Repairs to get done! It is no fault of AAS! The Dealer has to take the first step so I guess we will see... EVENTUALLY! For the most part this has been a frustrating experience. I have been trying to get a refund for towing services that was denied me on 7/21/2021. I was told by the roadside rep that my account wasn't active, however I confirmed through CarShield that my account was active during that time. And my account has remained active! Yet, I was originally denied my claim twice after resending the documentation at least three times. I was told that since my account was in "back out" status, my claim could not be processed. What I don't understand is why was my claim denied? I was behind two payments towards my account, but my account remained in active status.

Other shop owners and customers please email me your experience with AAS and I will get a class action lawsuit going and get this put on the news! ** American Auto Shield by definition are crooks. I own a auto repair shop in Utah and had settled on an amount that american auto shield would pay and an amount the customer was responsible for. This is the norm as we are a certified Repairpal shop and deal with a minimum of 20 warranty companies on a weekly basis. After completing the work and collecting payment from the customer we submitted for payment from American Auto shield and we noticed the payment was $1,400 less than what they originally agreed to pay out.
We have been battling with them non stop for a couple of months now and they still refuse to pay what they originally agreed upon blaming it on a clerical error on the adjusters part who is no longer on the case. I AM GOING TO MAKE YOU FAMOUS AMERICAN AUTO SHIELD. I have already contacted the BBB and the consumer protection agency. I also have a social media following of over 800,000 people on 2 different accounts and I am going to let them all know what kind of crooks you are so that no one else will get taken advantage of. This is more about the concept of keeping your word and being a reputable business than it is about the money. I don't care if I have to spend 10 times the amount owed to my business, you will pay one way or another.

The water pump was coming from an Auto Zone place here in Tyler and it has taken 4 days and I still don't have my car, they said I might get it Monday or Tuesday of next week. And then, I am not able to get a rent a car. Wow, some kind of warranty.!!!

To open the sliding door on my Honda Odyssey, you pullout on the handle. When I do that, It seems, at first, to have a motor that tries, but door doesn't open. Instead, it makes a loud cracking sound--holding back or balking--with sharp loud noises. And finally after about the third attempt, the door opens. Then, the phone message was cut off before finally finishing the call. I tried to call back several times but no answer. She had just told me to have my mechanic call back at this number to give the diagnostics: 800-531-1925. Then our conversation was cut off. So the next day I called back to be sure this was reported. And that person was caring and helpful, affirming that my mechanic should call the same number next Wednesday when he does the diagnostics. I am Carol ** at **.

This associate was the first to accurately communicate the standards by which you would determine the acceptability of an auto repair shop. Your initial sales associate wrongly stated it had to be an ASE facility. This led me on a wild goose chase and created delays in getting my vehicle back. I can't give you a fully accurate score on coverage because so far you haven't covered anything, and I stress about whether you will.

My first claim, they turned down and no one could explain why. Since I have 3 cars on this service, I called to cancel all 3. Needless to say the rep appeared so concern that she went out of her way to convince me to reconsider. She was very knowledgeable when answering my questions, which is important especially when explaining things somewhat unknown to the average person who just knows how to drive a car. This rep was great!

I called in an attempt to ensure that my claim will be covered. I have strong worries that you will make every effort to ultimately deny my claim, based on the experiences of my local Ford dealer. Their concern is based on doing business with you in the past. They say you waste their time with incessant calls and in essence "hide the ball" and use any reason to deny claims. They are very busy and can't waste time on 30 minute calls. I have had to contact other mechanics in an attempt to repair my vehicle and you can't provide me with criteria for determining their eligibility, further wasting time. Your agent was as helpful as she could be.

Before you can register a vehicle in Utah it has to pass emissions, which it did with flying colors on July 7. On July 29 it was running rough so took it to Larry Miller Jeep in Provo UT. The service rep, Mason **, called me July 1 to report that cylinder #6 is bad. So he called CarShield that same day. Then I called CarShield last Friday July 9th. Mason hasn't heard from you. So I called again today. That's 3 times now...

I took my car to the Infiniti dealer. They found that my radiator was gone and had to be replaced. American Auto Shield didn't want to pay the dealers price for a radiator so they looked for one and took several days to find one and ship it to the dealer. I was without a car for OVER a WEEK due to their policies, and I was NEVER able to talk directly with the adjuster to voice my complaints about how poor their service was. The radiator came in bent. The dealership was able to repair the radiator enough to use it, but now I am worried that the radiator will break sooner than it should since a ben radiator was installed in my vehicle.
I PAY WAY TOO MUCH FOR THIS SERVICE for them to be cutting costs and having substandard parts installed in my car!! Understand this; American Auto Shield (AAS) will do EVERYTHING not to pay the cost of a claim. This isn't even the first time I have had a bad experience with them. DO NOT USE American Auto Shield!! Find a warranty company that cares more about their customers than American Auto Shield does!!

They had my car in the repair shop for over a month then they didn't want to pay for the labor for work they order. They also sent a defective part and charged me for the extra time for the rental car. Terrible service. Would not recommend this company to anyone.

When I first got with this company they recommended the $99 a month policy since I had an older vehicle with a lot of miles but I purchased it in great condition. Anyway 3 months in I needed something changed and repaired but they said it wasn’t covered for that particular repair but I was paying the highest price they had recommended. So sadly I discontinued with the company. So just some advice, make sure you know what all is covered before committing.

I paid $4,300 for an aftermarket platinum car warranty for my vehicle. My car broke down yesterday and today I am told by the servicing company American Auto Shield that my claim is inactive because the adjuster wanted my mechanic to spend more time doing more diagnostics after they spent a good portion of the day doing so. American Auto Shield does not pay for diagnostic services. As a matter of fact, American Auto Shield adjuster basically told my mechanic (who has 3 mechanics and together they have 30 years experience) that he did not know what he was talking about. I have read my policy thoroughly and have been denied several benefits listed in that policy, ie. towing, rental, and diagnostic costs (you say it is covered for a covered claim, but American Auto Shield tells me it is not covered). I will never buy another product from you again. I will be sure to leave my honest review of your crooked company anywhere and everywhere possible.

By the time you pay your monthly fee, any deductible, and the list of non-covered items, it's cheaper and wiser to plan ahead and save a little. My quote was outrageous! If you read through the exceptions clause, most common items are not covered.

The engine on my truck (ford diesel, 6.0) failed to start after the engine was warm. The cause was worn oil pump that did not provide engine oil pressure necessary to provide high pressure hydraulic oil to operate the injectors. Upon initial contact with an adjuster my mechanic was told that since the oil pump was in the timing cover it was not covered. **!
The main oil pump is in the engine front cover and is crankshaft driven. Wear of the oil pump and the aluminum housing it is in is a well known cause of problems on this engine. If the adjuster was not aware of the common failure he should have educated himself with a few simple online searches instead of denying coverage. In any case, the engine, including the oil pump is covered according to my contract so the adjuster has caused me additional delay in getting my vehicle running due to his (lack of knowledge) (inexperience) (just wanted to deny service) (inadequate training). ***take your pick*** I am giving this 2 stars due to the problems with the adjuster.

Car Shield is not a scam. They have assisted me and took care of my repairs with no issues or delays. My car is a 2012. They are highly very reliable. If you don't have Car Shield you'll be paying huge costs.

They charge a lot of money for not a lot of services to be covered. I think it’s a rip off and they charge $180 a month to not cover. When I call them customer service is shady at best and never answers unless they want a payment.

BRITTANY was outstanding today confirming what I need to do to resolve coverage issues I have with an ongoing air conditioner problem in my mom's Hyundai Sonata. I will be pursuing reimbursement for an AC that is not working but was serviced 4/7/21 and is no longer blowing any air. I appreciate her professionalism and patience today explaining things to me and reiterating the diagnostics protocol. I will accomplish everything her and Hanna advised about proper CarShield reimbursement for relevant a/c repair fees paid.

I called about the coverage on my 07 Chevy Silverado to find out if tire pressure censors and brake pads were included in my contract. Unfortunately, they were not, but both young ladies in your customer service department were very professional. They were courteous, patient and went out of way to make certain that I got the answers that I needed. If there's was an option to give zero stars, I would. On 3/2/21, my car was diagnosed with needing a transmission. I left the car at the shop and rented a car that day. It took this company until 4/6/21 to approve the repair. The repair facility has the parts to repair the transmission but this company chose to save money and order a used transmission with 55k miles of usage on it, My car has 83k miles. The repair facility's solution is only $700 more but less likely to fail. They also will not give any reimbursement toward the rental I paid $1600 for because their adjuster took 4 weeks to approve the repair. I pay $125 per month for their top tier coverage. Today is 4/20/21 and still do not have my car because the part that they ordered has not been delivered and I'm told that after 4/22/21 I will have to start paying for the rental.

I took my 2008 Nissan Frontier to the dealership in El Paso, Tx, for a maintenance check. They found that the drive train was about to go out. I checked my coverage with CarShield and found out that the drive train was in fact part of the engine which was part of my coverage with carshield. An employee of the dealership and I made the call to carshield to see if they would cover the repairs on my truck. The response did take about 3 days, but was approved and the work was done. The payment to the dealership was quick and I was only responsible for the deductible. I was happy with the overall experience with carshield. Thank you.

Recently got the extended warranty and it seems to cover most things I need and was very affordable to extend it for 100,000 miles to give me assurance about my vehicle's health and maintenance. I've only used it once and what I needed was included.

Excellent response. The Service Dept. at Bill Carone in Wallace, NC Suggested that they had problem reaching CarShield. I called and was given the direct number for claims. I called the service Dept.at Bill Carone - Wallace, NC and gave them the number and informed them that they need to call and give to Car Shield the Contract number and the repair that needed to be completed they told me it was the Transmission. It's a shame none of the work was covered by this package we bought. After all the hoops we are going to have to jump through in the coming months to find the ultimate problem (burning oil) we may end up paying for everything out-of-pocket anyway - makes us wonder why did we purchase this package????

Lying about dates to get out of replacements that hard working people pay to have a peace of mind knowing their vehicle is protected but then when the vehicle breaks downs will deny claims due to made up dates they say service happened.

I didn't receive the emails Andrew sent, but apparently it wasn't because of him. I called back, spoke with Shar and she fixed the problem. She was awesome, diligent, professional. Happy so far!!

I called to see why ** was closed and to see about the return of my payment for this account. I was told my son's vehicle had some modifications done and would not be covered. The car is a 1997 vehicle and some of the modifications were needed, some parts are worn out due to age of the vehicle.

I have not had a claim but I feel very confident that I will have a great experience if and when it happens. I have had other companies that would not honor their side of the bargain which is rude. My concerns is of shops that want to blame CarShield for lack of payout when the shop is the one that won't honor the customer. So, I hope you guys will direct me to the most reliable shop around when needed.

I took my mother's car in for a brake problem and the mechanic said there was an issue with a rattling noise. There were a couple things car shield did not cover but for the most part everything was covered. The dealership had to remove the engine and replace something. Had the car for 2 weeks, covered the cost of rental and repair saved me about $5000.

I called in last week to verify what I need to do as I no longer have the covered vehicle. The representative explained what I needed to do and the time frame of the situation to be taken care of. Today when I called to follow up the representative told me the situation had been resolved and the check was released today. Overall the experience was great!

I went to dealership to complain about work previously done that is happening again. They wanted to do a diagnostic test but refused to accept CarShield. So I got my vehicle and came home to call CarShield and that's when I spoke to Jeanne who explained the entire process to me.

I had a few questions and customer was very pleasant and patient with me and answering all my issues. The mechanic I took my truck to waiting on line for so long he ended up hanging up and calling me to tell me the truck was not going to be able to be repaired as promised. The radio/GPS malfunctioned. I brought the car to the dealership from which I first leased the car. Their diagnostics showed the codes for a radio that needed to be replaced. It took three months of fighting with Auto Shield before they agreed to replace the radio.

I had A fraud alert on my account. My account was temporarily frozen and My card frozen. Your company came up as A new account. My Bank froze that payment to protect me from A possible fraud. I contacted CarShield on Tuesday March 9th and was connected to Jordan who answered all of my questions and was very knowledgeable about CarShield's products. I asked him to call me back later in the day as I had to follow up with some other vendors. We had a blowout on interstate 59 north of Houston, I never had a blowout on my truck before so I could not get the spare down from underneath the pickup. We called y'all and a young man came and helped us. I wish I had his name. He had to drive from Magnolia, TX. Nearly all the tire shops close around noon. It took him about an hour to get there, a lot of traffic on a 2 lane road. He showed me the trick on getting the tire down, and had us on the road in 15 minutes, wish I knew his name or had the order nr. He needs a raise.

Horrible experience with EMS express towing, waited over 2/ 1 /2 hours & they never showed up after repeated calls, telling me they were on the way. A good Samaritan saw me there waiting for such a long time & asked if they could help. She gave me a jump to start my car I made it to Nissan at 3:25pm. They close at 4pm. Had I gotten there 2 1/2 hours. On a scale from 1 being the lowest & 10 being the highest I rate them a minus zero as the worst company.

The customer service agent was very friendly and very helpful. He did everything that he could to get us everything that we needed. Once I submitted my request for a quote online, I had a phone call back in just a few minutes. I would definitely recommend giving them a call if you are in need of coverage for your vehicle. Unlike others the price will not go up every year as your vehicle ages and so long as you pay your premiums, your vehicle will be covered regardless of age or miles. There are others that don't do that.

Updated on 02/14/2021: Oh wow I hardly know where to begin. I had the unfortunate experience of having my transmission go out in my vehicle. I called American Auto Shield (AAS) and asked where should I take my vehicle for repairs. I was told there is over 3,000 facilities they work with. I can take my car to almost anywhere. Just go to the mechanic of my choice. I had my car towed to the BMW dealership and was told my transmission had went out.
My car was at the dealership for almost a week until they sent a third party adjuster to do the inspection. About four days later AAS finally got in touch with me and the dealership only to deny my claim. Their reason for denial was no electrical parts connected to the transmission are covered under the warranty. THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION WAS BAD, OF COURSE ANY PARTS ASSOCIATED WILL READ FAULT. AAS said since the electrical parts went bad, it made the transmission go bad. Honestly it's the other way around. This was the LOOPHOLE they're trying to use so they won't have to honor my warranty.
AAS told me if I could prove beyond the shadow of a doubt the transmission went bad first and not the electrical parts, then they would honor my warranty. How can I prove it if you won't listen to the mechanic. It's mind blowing talking to them. It's long hold times, no one is empathic when you call, I've been hung up on several times and it's never any consistent information from anyone I've spoken to. I just want to get my vehicle fixed from a warranty I paid for.
Original Review: I purchased a warranty from them in September 2020 for my 2008 BMW 750li. Great car and the previous owners took good care of the car. Carfax has all the service records so I felt confident in my purchase. My transmission went out 2/1/21. I called the warranty company for a list of affiliate repair shops. I was told "95% of the repair shops accept our warranty so just take it to your preferred shop and have them call us." I had the car towed to a BMW dealership for repairs. The dealership quickly noticed the transmission was dead so they called immediately to authorize repairs.
Since then the dealership and myself have been getting the run around. They said I needed service records or my bill of sale to prove actual mileage. Well in Illinois any vehicle over 10 yrs old is Exempt from reporting actual mileage in 2020. So my title and bill of sale read Exempt. The dealership said they have no notes of the actual mileage since it was required. Every time I call AAS they give me the run around and are very combative. They keep saying, "If we need additional information we will call you."
My claim still hasn't been approved. Meanwhile my car is still in the shop and now the dealership is getting antsy since my car has been there so long. I'm going to keep fighting with this company until they fix my car. I can't get approved for a rental at the dealership until the repairs are authorized from AAS. This whole experience has been a nightmare. I wouldn't recommend this company to my enemy. Save yourself a headache and find someone else to get your extended warranty from. AAS will only waste your time and cause more frustration.

After reading the manual and learning the 24 hour number was on my contract I was relieved. I called and the customer service and the rep. was very helpful and kind. I even heard a rooster in the background twice. Total waste of money and worthless company. It cost me $3500 for a new furnace. Money I'll probably never see from my AHS warranty. Something needs to be done about them. It's just not right.

Took my 2013 Ford Escape to Bill Talley Ford to have serviced on January 04, 2021 (oil change). The shop noticed that Torque Converter was broken and needed to be replaced. Due to the Torque Converter breaking it caused metal to go throughout the transmission. This in turn required that other parts of the transmission be fixed and replaced. Car Sheild was called and I was told that American Autio Sheild held my account/claim. I was told to send in my service records for the past year. I faxed all my service records from when I purchased my vehicle until now on January 7, 2021. Ford also faxed two quotes with breakdown of parts of labor. I was told the adjuster had 24 to 48 hours to review everything and I would know something on Monday January 11, 2021.
The following week (Monday January 11, 2021) I called to check the status of the claim. I was told the adjuster had not reviewed the file and that it would be escalated that I would know something later that day or Tuesday (January 12, 2021) morning. I called again Tuesday (January 12, 2021) afternoon. I was told then that the new adjuster had 48 hours to review the claim. I would know something by Thursday (January 14, 2021). I called on Thursday (January 14, 2021) and was told that my claim was listed as "inactive" by the adjuster. When I asked what that meant I was told (and I quote) "Exactly what it says. It's inactive." I asked to transferred and was hung up on.
I called back and the representative I spoke with this time told me (and I quote) "I see that you have called already today. We ask that you only call once a day". To which my response was "I will call as many times I need to get answers about my claim." I was told the adjuster would call me back. Call ended. I called back. Was told the adjuster would not call me back. He only talk to the repair facility. I was also told that the reason why my claim is listed as inactive was because another new adjuster was reviewing my claim and probably needed something. The representative didn't know and was unsure as to what was needed. I was told the adjuster would call the repair facility in the morning (Friday January 15, 2021).
Called repair facility on Friday afternoon. Was told they had not heard from anyone at American Auto Shield. They had tried calling and leaving a message and sending emails with no response in return. I then called American Auto Shield with the repair facility on the phone line. Was able to finally talk to the adjuster who stated that he needed quotes. The repair facility sent the quotes (again) via email while on the phone with the adjuster. Called American Auto Shield on Monday (January 18, 2021) for a claim status update. Was told that my claim had been approved, and the adjuster was waiting on the approved number. I was told the adjuster would be calling the repair facility that day.
Called repair facility on Tuesday January 19, 2021. Was told they had not heard anything from American Auto Shield. Called American Auto Shield on Tuesday January 19, 2021. Representative told me the adjuster was in my file and they could not see what was going on and for me to call back in an hour. I called 2 1/2 hours later and was told that the adjuster was reviewing my file, however the representative was able to let me know that my claim had been approved in the amount of $2003.56 and that another representative was on the phone with my repair facility. Spoke with my repair facility on Wednesday January 20, 2021. Was told that they had finally received an email with just a number of $2003.56 with no breakdown. Tried calling American Auto Shield and left a message. On January 21, 2021 finally got some answers. American Auto Shield only approved to replace Torque Converter and nothing else due to "continued use".
Basically because I drove to Ford to have my vehicle serviced they would not cover the full amount quoted from the dealership to fix my vehicle. This to me is very unsatisfactory. The complete cost to repair my vehicle correctly is $3789.52. I purchased coverage with this company (against my better judgment) for costly repairs such as this.

I took my vehicle to the dealership after it was making engine noise. The dealership informed me the engine was bad (Dec 8, 2020). American Auto Shield authorized the tire down of the vehicle and 12 months of maintenance records and all the oil changes were done well within the recommend period. I provide the documents and after 3 weeks an inspector came looked at the vehicle and said the car had oil slug and the claim was "DENIED".
It's January 8, 2021 and I was just informed of this and placed on hold for 40 minutes then disconnected. I called the dealership and the Auto Mechanic Specialist stated the slug was minor and is common for car of this age and he can tell the car was well taken care of. I'm a 100% Disable Veteran and have no way of getting to my appointment and we are in the midst of a PANDEMIC. Do not GET THIS WARRANTY. They are a SCAM. I will SUE them and as of today I'M am Re-Fi my home to get a lawyer to assist me. American Auto Shield I am coming full FORCE.

My GPS and bluetooth would not work on my 2018 F150 pick up truck. Their inspector came to the Ford dealer and told them it would be covered. He wrote a report that said nothing was wrong. They declined my claim. I had pictures that showed the GPS did not work and had a red circle with a line through it. They again declined my claim because I did not have proof of what needed repaired. I paid for repairs and sent them the receipt, and again denied. I made over 15-phone calls and sent numerous pictures and never got back to me.

Dealer called and was told repair was not covered under warranty. They called me and I told them to complete the repair. I called and was told that the repair was indeed covered and that I should send in the completed repair invoice for reimbursement. I did that and received a call stating that the repair cost would not be reimbursed due to the repair being completed before it was inspected. I explained to the person that the repair was completed based on the incorrect information given to the dealer that the repair was not covered. I feel that I should be reimbursed because of this error.

Tried calling many times to get permission to fix my vehicle, took too long and went ahead and paid it myself. Total was $3075.00 When finally getting thru to claims adjuster he told me they could only cover $260.00 for the alternator and not labor. They also fixed my air condition which was not working. This was never mentioned in reimbursement. I had already faxed all the info. needed and now they say I have to refax it again.

Your representatives helped me with an extremely distasteful experience with a dealership I trusted. On Day 1 they lost my car and denied having spoken with the towing company. I finally had to tell them to stop looking for the car, look for a car with a life-sized doll in the back seat. Then after repairs they tried to add a charge of $22 claiming it was the tax not covered by CarShield. After I verified that CarShield covered the tax, they changed their story. I guess it was AutoShield that reviewed all of the claim and charges to sort out the charges presented. The Service Manager then claimed the charge was for shop supplies totaling $17.55, which they rounded up to $20 - no explanation. All along the way your representatives hung with me, going the extra mile to be sure I received the satisfaction I was promised.

They will definitely fight with your mechanic. And I get it. They are trying to get the best deal possible. Well instead of paying $2000. I pay just a 100$ deductible and any other fees not covered by Carshield. Which is fine by me. It’s the mechanics you must worry about. Everybody is trying to get paid.

I was traveling On September 1st of 2020 from Texas to see my mother for her birthday this past week when my car broke down in the middle of nowhere Tennessee. Holladay Tennessee to be exact. I travel cross country by car often to visit my family members. Usually a couple of trips per month. I called American Auto Shield Who I had bought a service contract with back in early June. At first there was a problem finding a service facility within 100 miles that would work with American Auto Shield because of their bad reputation. So after calling around to nearly every service center within reasonable towing range I found A local mom and pop Auto shop in Camden Tennessee called Stettners Auto Repair. So I went through the warranty and had Stettners tow my car to his shop but that is where to everything went down hill with American Auto Shield.
The mechanic diagnosed the problem with the car to being major internal engine failure. However the American Auto shield claims agent by the name of Tyler called the auto shop and I was told that he was really nasty over the phone. Rude and trying to find any reason to deny my claim. Stettner the owner of the service shop said it was a very unpleasant experience talking to the guy over the phone. He told me that Tyler was requiring that he tear down the Engine to the point of failure even before the claim was authorized. Stettner said that was not necessary because he knows what the issue is already. He's been fixing engines in this business his entire life. After that I received a nasty voicemail from Tyler saying that nothing will be done until I provide service records for the car. Later that day after I provided all of the service records and sent them in via email.
I called back to ask for an update and was told they were reviewing my information. The next day I called back and they said the same thing. At the end of the second day The owner of the auto shop stettner called and told me that Tyler called him and told him that there was an issue with the mileage on the service records. I then called American Auto Shield and they told me that there was no issue with the mileage and that they had gotten someone else's service record mixed up with mine. So another day passed and the next morning I called again and they said that there was an issue with the mileage on my service records.
So today around 5:30PM I got a call from Tyler the claims adjuster and he told me that there was an issue with the mileage on the service records which conflicts with the mileage that the car was at when I bought the contract. I tried to explain to Tyler that CARFAX does not keep accurate dates of mileage. Sometimes their mileage estimate are way off. Shop technicians often enter the incorrect mileage when having work done. However Tyler told me very rudely and nasty that if I dont call the agent who I bought the contract from then I can pay for my car to be fixed out of my own pocket. Tyler is the absolute most rude and despicable person I have ever dealt with.
My car was towed into the shop on Tuesday and now it's Friday night and it's still sitting in the shop no closer to being fixed than it was on tuesday. I ran out of money to stay in a hotel so I had to make my way home back to Texas. This is why the majority of service centers will not work with American Auto shield. I have been making payments for months on time each month and now that I need the service they will try to find any little reason to avoid paying out on these contracts and that is a shame. This company is taking advantage of people. I have proven that the vehicle has been serviced regularly and well maintained and I have tried to do everything I can so far to help them make a decision on my claim. But to sit for an entire week and be given the runaround only to be deferred again at the end of the week is unacceptable.
Years ago I had a different service contract. One where my transmission went out on a different vehicle and a different company who I was with and another transmission was in my car and ready to go within 4 days of me bringing the car into the shop. But not with American auto Shield. A week later they still have me jumping through hoops trying to find a reason to not fulfill the contract. I will call the agent who sold me the contract in the morning however I feel like it wont make any difference because they will only try to find any reason to either stall or not pay out on the claim.
Today is September 26th and I just received a call from the service center saying that the claims inspector came to the shop and somehow came to a different conclusion other than what the mechanic found and is citing lack of maintenance and tried to get the shop technician to sign off. But he refused to do so because the finding were incorrect. And now American auto Shield is requesting more proof that the car has been serviced. They want oil receipts which is just another excuse to try to avoid paying out on repairs. It has been nearly 30 days and American auto shield still has not made a decision to either deny or approve my repairs. They instead continue to drag this on making excuses. It is clear at this point that they do not intend on covering my repairs.

As a new member, my first experience was not pleasant. I called first to ask what I needed to do to take my veh. to the shop. I took my veh. to ASE qualified mech. They followed the instructions and were advised by Rich, I had not met the requirements for activation, this was Monday the 14. 1 lost day w/o my Veh. Tues I made a call back to Car Shield, and we agreed I was qualified to use the service. The shop called for authorization number to proceed. Fix #1, I had no problem buying a new battery. Request for fix #2 was not covered. Rear Power Window not working, denied.
This is where, I became disturbed, Contract verbiage Power Window Motor covered, but components not. Actuator, Regulator on window needed replacement. As a layperson, this didn't make sense. My cost was $300 plus dollars. My window would not operate, w/o the fix and water was getting in the car. You tell me isn't better to fix the window then ruin the car, yet the contract states motor. I am disappointed, with my first encounter. I live on a limited income and purchased this contract to help with large expenses. I guess this is not your problem and your customers are expected to understand repair services but to me if the power button doesn't work for one window, which is electrical, too bad for me. I will continue with the contract because this is an older vehicle and truly hope I don't encounter another problem. Respectfully Louise

My wife's 2016 Chevy Suburban starting acting up this past Saturday evening. Check engine light came on and it was running very rough. We immediately took it to the dealer not far from home. Though they were closed we dropped our keys in the overnight box. Monday morning comes and I receive a call from my dealer, a bad ignition coil was the issue. I let the service manager know I have a contract with American Auto Shield. I have the contract number and claims number to the service department. They called me back 15 mins later saying it’s covered and its paid for!! (Well, minus my deductible!) My wife and I picked up her car by 9am this morning! American Auto Shield, thank you for doing such a great job today for me and my family!

Update: I have the unfortunate experience of having to deal with these people again. I am a service advisor for a dealership. I sat on hold for half an hour before getting though, once I got through the person I was speaking with was EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful. I proceeded to tell him what the problem was and he kept asking for a failure. I REPEATEDLY told him the failure and when that didn't work I asked him if he knew what the part was.
He then told me "yes and I know more than you" ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I have been racing cars since I was 16. I then went to Universal Technical Institute, graduated and have been working in dealerships for the past 10 years. How dare that be said!!! I asked for the supervisor again REPEATEDLY and he would not even give me a name. I finally finalized the claim and at the end he proceeded to tell me "you are the type of person that will never be happy". SO UNBELIEVABLY DISRESPECTFUL!!!! I have never had to deal with a company this utterly horrendous.

My car has been sitting in the shop for 3 weeks at the Acura dealer and both the dealer and I have been calling emailing, opening tickets.... etc. Calls are not returned, hung up on or never returned. We had one returned and they promised to call back to finalize the claim, but never did. Opened 2 more tickets and waited on the phone again with no answer after 1 hour. I will be reporting them to BBB and my US Senator. Stay away.

Poor service. You cannot reach anyone on the phone and if you do the phone were hang up on you or they would have to transfer you some Else is just ongoing bad service. And it takes over two hours for you to reach someone on the phone. Very poor service. With the last young lady that I just spoke with was the best service that I have received.

The representative really worked hard today to ensure that my claim went to the correct office. My vehicle has been in the auto shop since my claim filed on 6/23/2020 and I was given the incorrect email address several times before I reached the representative today. I sent my information 5 times to the email given to me on 7/10/2020 to find out today the person that gave me the email did not spell it out to me correctly. However, the emails I sent did show that it went through so I was unaware they never received my documents oil change.
She was very eager to get my claim to records department. The representative gave me her personal email address to ensure I was taken care of today. I am truly grateful. She was nice. I pray my vehicle will be fully covered leaving me the $100 deductible as promised. I have not received a rental and I did have to pay for my own tow. However, I was informed I would receive a refund for the two in June. I trust in God that my vehicle will be covered for repairs.

Repair of my Town & Country. Too long on hold to get auth. My car tied up a tech and bay for 7 hrs. The actual diagnosis took 15 mins and repair took less than 45 mins. The rest of the time was waiting for callbacks and waiting on hold for over 2 hrs.

The reputable transmission shop I took my truck to said that this company is not to be trusted, as he has had to deal with them in the past. My truck was in the shop for like 8 days and I barely heard a word from anyone. I'm the 3rd owner and I do not have all the records via a printed receipt and yet do not dispute that there has never been a transmission fluid change because it was not on the list of recommended maintenance. Also, why ask a guy at a transmission shop for my records and not ask me? And, my shop also said they they will send over a used controller and he doesn't recommend using a used controller, especially in a $60,000 Truck. Not to mention, the hours the shop and I have spent either on hold, or waiting for a call back. The average time to even hear a human voice is 45 mins to an hour.

I purchased my contract on Jan 2019 and on Feb 2019 I had a issue with my vehicle; But being because I had just recently bought the contract I did not do a claim. I handle it on my own. Now a year and a half later I need my warranty for a issue and they have denied my claim because of pre-existing condition;Which when I bought the contract there was no issue. I am a single mother with 2 small kids. My only car, been paying for this warranty one year and half with no claims and they are going to deny me!! I am extremely unsatisfied with this company. Taking my money for a whole year like that and now they won't help me fix my vehicle.
"Why Do People Buy Insurances and Warranty?" "For When Things Happen." Now It Happened And You're Going To Deny me. Such a Fraudelent Company To take someone's hard working money like that for a whole year and won't assist them when in need!! I Will like a resolution to this. I have waiting over 3 hours just to process one claim. Each time I wait almost an hour to get thru then the process is to transfer the call Adjuster but call auto drops as soon as it transferred, I have just wasted 3 hours of my time on a week day and shop. Did another hour yesterday.

I've been extremely frustrated for almost two weeks with the claims process for my AC, but I was finally able to speak to a supervisor today, Ku, who went above and beyond to resolve my issues. Since the parts have taken almost two weeks to arrive, he authorize the claim using the dealership parts. This meant a lot to me, especially considering this is not normal company policy. Ku was more concerned about my air conditioner being fixed, rather than me waiting a few more days. Thank You!

She suggested that I take a picture with my cell and send it via email which is how I send documents now. What a relief that I did not have to go to the FedEx and copy and send it. That was great!

I called to get some basic information about my policy and spoke with an exceptional representative. I wish I was better at remembering names but she helped me by locating my policy and answered all my questions with compassion and eagerness. All of my many questions were answered and with one call I feel like I have all I need to be comfortable with moving forward in the claims process. She made sure to connect with me as opposed to just giving me what I called for. This is the kind of interaction that makes me feel like we made a good decision when purchasing this policy. What makes this even more impressive is this level of service and care came from someone I know is busy as it took several minutes of waiting for a call back.

The current system of communication is a "one way phone call and wait to be called back". I suggest you use email so that an adjuster can facilitate the process more quickly and communicate with the shop faster. A shop foreman does not sit at his desk waiting for phone calls. Email would give each side rapid access to any questions/issues.

I explained what my issue was because a service rep I spoke with last week gave me the wrong information telling me a computer control module for my truck was covered but was informed today it was not. Becky is very helpful with trying to get this issue resolved. Thank you Becky! Also when I spoke with the other service rep last week I felt as though she was trying to rush the call and me off the phone. Kind of like when you have to go to the bathroom real bad but you can't say anything to the customer on the line. I think that could have contributed to a failure in communication although I did ask about four times if this particular part was covered and was told yes every time. I can't remember that's reps name but I think it was Shaneqau or Lakwifa. Something like that. I give Becky 5 stars but the previous service rep gets 0 stars.
