    The man I spoke with was very knowledgeable in what was covered and what wasn't.. He also gave me a price then lowered it due to senior discount. I have a 2996 with just over 100,000 miles and still qualified for the Gold Package. With the year of the car and mileage, I expected less that cost more. If you have an older model car, and can't afford car payments, this is the way to go. BTW, everything he said was covered was the same on the contract. This man knows his job!

    It would be more helpful and much better convenient to everybody, myself as your customer and to your company, to follow up any phone conversation with a confirmed email message with the subject(s) which was discussed. In my case it was the motor and/or the actuator of the Right side sliding door of my van. Also, the motor and/or the actuator of the third row Right window which opens outwardly. Both, door and Window, won't open immediately upon starting the engine and most of the time it takes more than an hour for the sliding Right door to open.

    Please bear in mind that I am a handicapped senior citizen bound to wheelchair whereby my Chrysler 2014 Town and Country is fitted with automatic foldable Ramp that deploys automatically once the right sliding door is fully opened. But this month I suffered due to the sliding door won't open and the ramp wouldn't be deployed and I was not able to enter my van till 45 minures and when the door opens by itself after I started the engine of my Van! Very weird. My mechanic told me that it is for sure the motor or the actuator of the door is malfunctioned.

    This story is about a Chrysler 300, that overheats. We replaced the radiator and the thermostat (our pocket). This didn't fix the problem. Called Car Shield, to see if there was a mechanic in our area that accepts Car Shield as no mechanic we know does. They recommended a AAMCO. Steve the owner, nice guy. So we drove the 300 there, and that same day, Car Shield DENIED the claim citing causation of a cracked block was a non covered oil pump. The next day we went up to AAMCO, and the owner Steve told us that's not true. The block isn't cracked, nor is there a malfunction of the oil pump. Steve told us that the head gasket was blown, thus warping the head, allowing water into the oil. Knowing this as fact, per recording played to Car Shield, they still denied us.

    Opened a Better Business Burough case (BTW they have an "F" rating), and they repeated the lie of causation as a matter of public record, and closed the case, while still taking money out of the bank account, to pay for??? Looking at the reviews here, "This review is featured by CarShield" yeah, that one... They are taking claim that they approve claims. This is also not true according to their statement in the BBB case. I'm going to say it... Car Shield is a fraud. Change My Mind.

    Obtain warranty for a used SUV purchase. Gave history (or lack of) that I had of the vehicle prior to purchasing warranty, was told not a problem. Time to use the warranty I would have to first put up approx. $2000 before they are able to make a decision. Never mind that an experienced mechanic explained exactly what needed to be done, the engine needed to be replaced, (let me put this into perspective, it actually showed the timing chain failed, in which the mechanic told me he had to ultimately replace the engine on about four of the same vehicles in the last couple of years), they wanted me to pay for tear-down (approx. $2000) before they make a decision.

    The initial diagnosis was made at the dealership and I in-turn took the car to my certified mechanic because he is less expensive. If approved the $2000 would be reimbursed, my point is I had placed two other small claims, heard nothing from that, I paid. Therefore, I have no confidence in them approving a larger claim, I would just be out of $2000 plus the cost of the repairs. There is no communication with them, you always have to call to ask for the status. I have had a representative get nasty with me and hang up. This has been such a trying experience, I can not tell you anything good about CARSHIELD, other than they were very timely in taking their money out of my bank account every month.

    For the money that I wasted with them, I could have almost paid for the car repairs. You live and you learn, and I am writing this review to help others, STAY AWAY! Two different repair shops told me that CarShield was not going to pay, they had never experienced payment from them, but I held out hope, but no, not a dime. I can not discredit anyone's positive review, BUT...I can't see all of the greatness happening.

    In regard to your most recent claim yes, the admin needs to know the cause of failure which a teardown would show. This is outlined as a possibility in your contract. Please know, not all repairs require a teardown to be performed. If the mechanic was so sure its the timing chain then we would cover the cost of that and the teardown. However, we never heard back that a teardown was performed so we did not get the chance to help you out on this repair. For a previous repair, we were told you moved your car to a different repair facility and again, we did not hear back from you or the repair shop in regard to that repair so we could not move forward.     Supposedly this company prides themselves on being one of the top auto warranty companies. I had one of the worse experiences with them. The lack of unprofessionalism and customer care was just disgusting. There are various loopholes and shady dealings in their contracts and policies. In the end all I got was the round around and no support or resolve in regards to my car issues. They fight really hard to do everything they can to not have to fix your car and then take no accountability or provide any actual assistance.     I called to see if a repair was covered by my policy and was told that it was. It was the clutch and leavers for an automatic transmission. So, I had the car towed to a local shop who took CarShield. After paying for the tow and an additional diagnostic, CarShield denied the claim because although it's an automatic transmission, the car shifts like a manual transmission. I paid for coverage, I paid for a tow, and paid for a 2nd diagnostic all based on a phone call with a live representative... and got denied by lawyer wording technicalities.     I've dealt with Carshield among many other aftermarket car warranties. They are not worth the hassle, being a service technician and advisor they will find any possible way to get out of paying for claims. The worst I have seen was an engine claim denial due to sludge build up. The customer recently purchased the vehicle and had done an oil change per their contract but the claim was denied due to sludge build up, I can understand that, however the history of the car from the previous owners has nothing to do with the new owner and the new owner should not be punished or ripped off due to the previous owners neglect.

    Furthermore, how can sludge been seen without a complete engine tear down? Are customers expected to not only have a certified inspection and an engine tear down before purchasing? I mean come on, that is unforeseen and it is not the new owner's fault. These companies are garbage, save your money and put it towards a repair fund!

    I recently purchased coverage from CarShield. My vehicle's cluster module went out after 20 days and over 500 miles. My speedometer, gas gauge, odometer and rpm stopped working. This is a safety issue. If I have no idea how fast I am driving or how much fuel I have then this should be fixed and covered right? I called to see what steps did I need to do and if my coverage covered. Because if not, I wanted to cancel my account. They had already drafted my account on the 30th day. They counted the day I called and got service which was late at night and I was not going to be driving. I read over my contract and seen that electrical was not covered. I called to cancel. They then lowered my rate because they could not reimburse me. I agreed. But then called back to cancel the service because it was pointless..

    They told me to get a diagnostic and then they'll know if I would be reimbursed or not. I went ahead and spent the money I didn't have and submitted it to American Car Shield. The next day I received a call telling me that it is not covered. I called again to cancel my coverage and wanted to get a reimbursement. I knew that I had to "eat" the diagnostic but hopefully make it up with getting my refund for canceling. They were very nice and tried to help until I went to the supervisor who just said that they couldn't do anything and that they were the highest that a customer could go.

    I told them that it is not cool that I could have had my reimbursement the day prior but instead I had to wait until my refund period was past the 30 days. They told me that the day prior was 31 days. That means they counted a day that didn't really count. All in all I lost out almost $250 which I did not even have just to not have any results or help. This company, not the customer service representatives, but this company rather take your money than help you out.

    Purchased a contract with Car Shield based on your promise announced in your commercials. BUT reality was unclear. Didn't realize you would ONLY pay for repairs, and I would have to pay unforeseeable out-of-pocket labor costs, PLUS find a qualified car repair shop that accepts Car Shield first.     I have the Diamond W Elite warranty. I have a booklet that explains all the parts that are covered. I have a repair on a covered part that has not bee negated by any of the listed exclusions. The repair facility has been waiting for literally WEEKS for CarShield to approve the repair. They are forcing me and the shop to jump through hoops in the hopes that we will give up and they will not have to do what they are contractually obligated to do. I had really high hopes when the sign up process was so easy, but now cannot imagine how I could be more disappointed in their service.     I began having engine problems and I took my vehicle to Audi for diagnostics. Audi has a TSP method that is used to discover mechanical issues. Carshield isn’t accepting the TSP test results presented by Audi El Paso. This TSP method is well known throughout the industry and is very effective. We live in an age of technology and the methods used by these technologies are very accurate and are designed to save time and money. Carshield wants to have the entire engine removed just to get a visual of the results already proven by a more advanced TSP method. And all this to be done at the cost of the customer, wow such great customer service this is. With this being said. I’m a disabled veteran with a spouse on Active duty.     Updated on 04/09/2021: Car Shield is a scam. You buy your warranty from Car Shield but when you need your car fixed you deal with American Auto Shield. They are hard to get in touch. They give you little information. My truck was in the repair shop for 3 1/2 weeks. The shop had to call American 10 times half the time leaving messages. I personally had to call American Shield 20 times. I have a record of the calls to American Shield. American Shield called me once.

    The warranty I bought was for engine transmission, differentials, transfer case but when I needed to have them fix my engine they would only pay labor, no engine, no gaskets, no head that they say they covered. I canceled my contract. I wish I had spent time checking them out more. If you check out Car Shield there are so many reviews that are so negative. The list goes on. Don’t waste your money. There are so many other companies to deal with. They have great commercials. All lies. Do not trust them.

    Updated on 02/18/2021: The truck has been in the repair shop since 2/11/2021. The repair shop has called American Auto Shield 8 times. Still waiting for a answer. I have called 13 times to American Auto Shield. I have sent all the service records so has the repair shop. If I haven’t been calling so much I don’t think I would get a answer. Today is 2/18/2021. It’s been a week. The plan I have said it covered heads. The car repair shop said that’s what it is. I am not happy. I’ll have to see what happens from here ???

    Latter part of January I had to change bank account and found you had my auto listed as 2012 as you had wrong EIN number by one letter and you had the wrong mileage.     My warranty on my car ran out and I was nervous about something happening so I looked into extended warranties. I was pretty skeptical but CarShield has been absolutely amazing. I have only been a customer for 6 months and 3 months ago they paid $1308.20 to replace the transfer case in my 2013 Cadillac SRX with no fight or hassle, it was so easy. I also used the included roadside assistance a couple of months ago when I slid off the road and had to be winched out. They paid 100% of the fee for the fee immediately, I didn't have to pay first and wait for reimbursement. I honestly don't know what I would have done without this coverage. If you are on the fence or feeling skeptical take the leap, you will not regret it!

    I have not had any experience with Car Shield outside of my enrollment in the latter part of January, 2021. The Service Rep did a good job explaining things once I let him know I needed him to do for me. I am having a contract sent to my door for reference and to carry in vehicle. There are too many different telephone numbers to call for different matters. The company should give a card to customers, instead of relying solely on the phone.
