    Recently, I went to a place to have my car fix crank shaft sensor light was on and ABs light and traction light was on. I brought it to St. Amant mufflers in St. Amant Louisiana on June 9, 2023. The crank shaft need no replacement due to being loose. However abs light and right axle suspension needed to be fixed. Car Shield was called and it was denied due to it not covered. It cost me out of pocket to get my Kia 2017 Sorrento which was costly 784. 37. A few month ago I had to pay 820.00 for my Kia optima 2013 and states whatever needed to be fixed was not covered. Why should I keep paying premiums which seems when my vehicle needed to be fixed was not covered.

    Sorry you’re having trouble finding a local repair shop that accepts our coverage. Some shops refuse to take our coverage, however it is not for the reasons you may think. Some shops refuse to take any outside coverage because they want to be in charge of their own prices. There is a nationally recognized labor guide that tells repair facilities what to charge for what services and things like that. But it's up to each individual shop whether or not they want to follow it. With coverage like ours, we keep shops from overcharging our customers and shops don't always like that. We’re happy to stand on our record of servicing over 2 million customers over our 18 years in business. Not to mention our claims department pays out over $5 million in claims every month.     I own an old Volvo which still has less than 150,000 miles. It has recently developed a coolant link which requires frequent refills of coolant to be added to the coolant overflow reservoir.     Must do everything online. No rental car options unless vehicle repair is approved. 2 -3 days before follow up. Denied my claim over photos. Never sent out a representative to do inspection. The diagnosis charge of the repair shop was paid out of my pocket. Rust was the reason they used as the determination factor to void their need to provide any kind of repair service. The only reason I would give even 1 star in fairness is that they did provide the tow service to get my car to the repair shop after I broke down while refilling at a gas station.

    Last Friday 6/2/2023 I turned my vehicle into the dealership. Since it was late Friday all the dealership can do is open and start the claim with CarShield, which they did. I called CarShield Saturday morning to get an update to be sure the dealership did their job and they did, however, the claims personnel informed me the auto claim adjusters do not work on weekends and will require 24-48 hrs to review the claim from the dealership. If I knew of this from the jump when I purchased this extended warranty I would have turned my car in beginning of the week. Here I am thinking they can work on the weekend and I would have my car back early the following week, nope! OKAY. So I waited 48 hrs and called back to Tuesday afternoon 6/6/2023 and CarShield informed me they are still reviewing my claim and that I should have an answer back Wednesday whether the claim is approved or not.

    Today is Thursday 6/8/2023 and I still have not received and official answer. So my only vehicle I have for transpiration will have been sitting at the dealership not getting worked on for a FULL week. At the same time I had to rent a vehicle Monday morning to able to go to work during the week. I asked CarShield if they will reimburse me for the car rental and they said they would, however, I only have a 7 day rental period and at the moment nothing has been approved. SO I am left in limbo wondering when they would actually approve my claim to let the dealership work on my car and if I am allowed an extension on the car rental since they failed to review my claim within their 24-48 hour window. I am very close to canceling my CarShield warranty as they take their time, no regards for my transportation.

    This is my first time using them for a service and I tell you now, they are failing me! What would they do to you?...most likely the same! But if you do go with CarShield and you can leave your car with your mechanic for 2-3 weeks with no problems then go for it and use them. But if you only have 1 car for transportation I WOULDN'T WASTE YOUR TIME. These people feed you a dream to make you buy their extended car insurance but when you need them they don't seem to care to process any claims accordingly. Will update on a 2nd review and let you know what they do next. Today is 6/8/2023 2:02 PM CT.

    Have tried to correct a problem where I set up my account under my name first. Long details but I have spent almost a year trying to accomplish this to no avail. I get the runaround from everyone even though I told them I set up the policy. It's my car. My checking account. They just want me to waste my time going and finding certain documents and filling in them out and submitting it and paying a fee. The last phone call the woman Wanda promised that she would email me this document. I have looked in all my spam trash and regular inbox. No item was ever sent. In addition she promised to follow up on the 1st by the afternoon to help me email it back to your company. That never happened. She never contacted me or anything. I can't even begin to tell you the frustration with your warranty department because I'm not listed as primary.

    They won't even take any calls from me unless they talk to my husband first who did not set up the account. Cannot hear and cannot speak clearly to be able to speak with someone on the phone as I told them numerous times. I know he did not set up the account cuz he can't speak clear enough to do it and he doesn't read or write so he wouldn't have set this up. I don't know what Car Shield's problem is but I am over it. Would not recommend this company to anyone. It's taking me months to get someone to help me with sending in my rental reimbursement on a car I needed while my car was being repaired. The woman then and customer service she was helpful. She actually gave me a mailing address as other customer services refused. Told me I had to email it or fax it or whole number of things that I am not able to do.

    Get it together car shield. You're not very good on customer service or anything else including trying to get my payment corrected to a new card since mine was stolen. Medco your sister company for payments were fools to speak with me because I am not listed first on the policy. Again the same ordeal and I don't know why carshield won't correct it since I spoke with the person instead of the account. I'm just sick of calling carshield. They have wasted so much of my time on the phone that it's just too much of an ordeal to deal with anymore. If it wasn't for my husband I would have canceled this policy by now.

    I purchased a warranty from CarShield for my 2015 Volkswagen Jetta in November 2022. Carshield's plans are administered by American Auto Shield. According to the plan, they use a national labor guide and Identifix to determine labor and parts cost. To keep the plan in place, regular maintenance needs to be performed, which is no problem because I do that anyway. Well, the rear wheel speed sensor needs to be replaced. I had the dealership call CarShield to authorize the repair only to find out that according to their "labor guide and parts guide," after I pay my $100 deductible, they would only pay approximately 12% of the total cost. What am I paying a monthly premium for? If I didn't pay the monthly premiums, I'd have the money to pay for the repair outright. Don't waste your money!

    Make sure you read and understand numbers 6 & 7 of your contract! I'm glad this wasn't a major repair because I have wasted my money and am coming out of pocket to pay the cost anyway. Also, the customer service at American Auto-Shield is rude and disrespectful. I will not support a business that does not put customers first.

    Sorry you’re having trouble finding a local repair shop that accepts our coverage. Some shops refuse to take our coverage, however it is not for the reasons you may think. Some shops refuse to take any outside coverage because they want to be in charge of their own prices. There is a nationally recognized labor guide that tells repair facilities what to charge for what services and things like that. But it's up to each individual shop whether or not they want to follow it. With coverage like ours, we keep shops from overcharging our customers and shops don't always like that.     It's not that I have a problem with Car Shield, it's that I have a problem with the dealership relaying the information the Car Shield. I started to claim the 16th of April and for some reason, the dealership does not send in the information the Car Shield and I've let Car Shield know this and I don't know if Carl Shield can look into the dealership and see why they haven't received anything but we're going on a month and a half now and this really needs to be resolved. I've called the dealership numerous times and spoke to people that said that they've sent pictures and descriptions in and CarShield says they've never received anything so I can't get any response out of the dealership. I don't know if you guys can or not.

We were told we would have to buy a new contract, they could not just correct it. I ask for a manager but was told one would get back to me within 24-48hrs.     Whereas Car shield paid a portion of my repair bill they did not pay the whole thing. They determine that the repair shop was overcharging on the time it would take to repair my ac unit, my car has been in the shop for 4 days now, not car shield's fault, they had problems with getting the correct part. Plus the mechanic doesn't work every day. But I am still left without a car. Because car shield only covers if you pay out of pocket for a rental which I can not afford.

After being stunned, I remembered that I am a customer of CarShield, which I had previously purchased after the factory warranty had expired! My husband called the dealership and informed them that I was a customer of Car Shield! From that point, Nissan Burleson and CarShield communicated about the repairs. The Service Dept. informed us that my car was ready. We only had to pay $100! I am a satisfied customer of CarShield! Thank you so much!!
