    In October 2011, I was having chest pains and used my Bay Area Alarm to call for help. While the firemen were still at my home, my youngest daughter Tina called from Huntington Beach, CA. I thought it was just a random call from her, but it was not. Bay Area Alarm had called her to let her know about me. They also called my other two daughters who live in Nevada and Oregon.     My dad died earlier this year leaving my Mom alone after sixty one years of marriage. She was released from the hospital on the afternoon of January 18th and my Dad had died at 4:10 that morning; she didn't get the chance to say good bye. Her grief took over completely - she was weepy all the time, forgetful, confused and all the while losing weight and becoming weaker. I was scared for her. I was also left scrambling to take care of her, her finances, my business, the death announcement, thank you cards, the nursing home, the mortuary, death certificates, benefactor insurance coverage, life insurance policies, MediCal, plus everything that was happening in my own life as well.

    When I was researching different companies for the life alert alarm system, Bay Alarm was the most informative and helpful. They answered all of my many questions and were very patient. My mom appears to be less stressed and more relaxed since she started wearing her bracelet. The only thing she wishes is to have it come in other colors. Upon installing and setting up, the operator was very helpful and patient as I ran through the process and had my mom talk, etc. The lock box was easy to set up and hang and it was included with the purchase.     We are elated to have a way for mom to call for help when needed. We are happy with the politeness of the staff with whom we have spoken. We are angry that the information that we sent with the original activation form was not added to the information database which resulted in the fire department being called instead of a family member three times which meant that they had to break the door to get into the house because they were not notified of the location of the spare key. We spent as much replacing doors and windows as we did on the service itself and that is not acceptable!

    I awoke one morning and went to use my cell phone and could not make any calls. I am vision-impaired so I cannot see my cell phone screen and did not know why it was not working. I cannot see the numbers on my landline phone either so I was unable to make any phone calls on that and was virtually out of touch completely.     Two weeks after getting Bay Alarm Medical for my mother, she fell in the backyard while I was at work, landing face first on a cement patio. The operator that answered my mother's alarm was outstanding! He first reassured my very upset mother, called the paramedics, called my cell phone at work (as I had instructed), then called my backup contact. They were so courteous and calming. The paramedics were loading my mother into the ambulance when I got to my house. They gave me a rundown of my mother's injuries (I am a nurse) and the next plan of action. I followed the ambulance to the hospital. The EMT stayed with my mother at the hospital until I arrived and got her checked into the ER. They and the responding operator were so reassuring to me and my backup contact. I called back when we got home from the hospital (after x-rays, CT, stitches and staples to her head) and thanked them for their prompt, efficient work. Great service! Thank you so very much.

    Two times in one day, the alarm went off. The first time, Pat must have pushed the button and didn't have her hearing aids in. She didn't hear it going off. By the time I got upstairs, the phone was ringing and they were checking on her. Later that day, Pat got her hair cut and someone unplugged the machine. They called, and we plugged back in. When I needed to push the button in order to test it, the person from Bay Alarm was very patient and helpful.     Last year, I ordered the Bay Alarm monitoring system for my elderly mother. Despite in-patient and out-patient therapies, my mother continued to have numerous falls and she frequently would not tell me about them. The monitoring system would alert me immediately and send assistance when I could not be there.     On March 26th, at about 7:00 a.m., Louise (my mother) was pulling herself up to get out of bed when she lost her grip on the handle she was pulling herself up with. She fell back onto the bed, but got her arm pinned beneath her body and snapped the bone in her upper right arm about two inches above the elbow. My brother was visiting her that weekend and was asleep in an upstairs bedroom. Mom, wanting to avoid using the button, called to my brother for several minutes and was able to waken him. When he came downstairs to mom's bedroom, he could tell she had a serious problem. Rather than call 911 himself, he had mom push the button and stayed with her as the system went through its process and your operator made all the proper connections and help arrived in a timely manner.     My brother and I have gotten this service for our elderly parents in California. We were very worried about them not being able to contact someone in case of an emergency. It has already paid off for my dad. He had a heart problem and my mother pushed the button on his alarm. The lady talked to them through the box on the wall and got the ambulance to them in a matter of a few minutes. He's at home and doing well and is very happy to have this button to push now.     My father-in-law accidentally pushed his pendant while outside. Bay Alarm responded quickly via the in-home speaker and called the home several times to no answer. They immediately called the paramedics and my husband who is listed as their secondary contact. Fortunately, it was a false alarm and my father-in-law is fine. However, it is nice to know that Bay Alarm performed as claimed and is there when we can't be in case of a real emergency.

    My wife pressed the medical alert button and your technician did not get a response. He called my cell where I told him to get 911 immediately. My wife was able to make a 911 call, which would have shortened the response by 6 to 8 minutes. Those extra 6 to 8 minutes cost my wife her life. Prior to this, we used a direct 911 call and the response was immediate with 4 minutes: she survived all 3 times. But not with your system. It does not work for my wife’s condition. You should have a warning label.

    John ** is a friend with macular degeneration. We became concerned about how he could get someone's attention in case of an emergency as he can no longer see well enough to dial a phone. We had Bay Alarm Medical installed, which has offered a sense of security with only a push of a button. At any time we have had questions, we have phoned in and the technical staff has allowed us to try pushing sensors from different rooms/garages. All has worked well. So well that on April 20th, when John ** moves in with a 24-hour care-giver, he will "transport" his Bay Alarm Medical system for that continued security assurance.

    When we first got our machine it worked for one day and the pendants were not pairing up to the machine. I was frustrated because we got this machine for my mom that has fallen and we being at work started to worry us. I did research online and found the Bay Alarm system along with all the rest of the other alarm companies out there. But Bay Alarm happens to be in California and I felt this is what we wanted and the price was great. Wanting to get this to work, we had 4 pendants sent to us and nothing worked. Totally frustrated!

    We worked with the manager in the area and he was so patient and so nice that he understood my frustration. He even called after hours to see if we can get the pendant to work. Finally, we had to change the machine out; lo and behold, on the brink of me just sending everything back, the new machine and new pendant finally worked. And it has worked ever since. This company is a great company and so caring to put your loved one’s hands into. Rough start, but not any fault of the company. It was the machine that had the issues. We, my husband and I, were so happy knowing we have the confidence in Bay Alarm to keep my mom safe while we are away from home.     I've been extremely impressed with the employees who have been on the other end of that white box. My button has been pushed by my dog on my lap, run over by my WC, or set off by any number of odd things, and the response has always been caring and professional from the other end. Stupidity doesn't seem to bother them at all. Oh, the stories they can probably tell. We've had a couple of long power outages and every several hours they would check in to make sure I'm still okay.     I purchased a 3-month contract for my mother (medical alert bracelet/pendant system). It gave her confidence that it was ok to be alone in her house. I returned the product after 3 months because she decided she needed more care. We should have purchased the system a year earlier. Feedback: set up and installation were easy, but increased range would be helpful (maybe over a cellular network). Drop off of the system at local Bay Alarm offices would also be helpful.

    I live in California and my 84-year old mother lives in the family house on her own in Virginia. We are 3000 miles apart. We use Bay Alarm in California and I purchased the alert service for my mother last year. She is very independent and generally healthy, but she took a fall last year and we were lucky neighbors were outside to see her. I worry about her falling inside, especially on the stairs to the basement. I had the alert monitor shipped to her and the Bay Alarm staff were very helpful and patient walking her though how to set it up. Thankfully, we haven't yet used the service, but it gives me peace of mind.

    I am happy with the personal alarm I purchased for my 91-year old mother. It gives me satisfaction to know she can get help if she cannot get to the phone. I have checked the system over the past year and it has worked well and in a timely fashion. I would prefer to have the lock box design changed so it does not need to be locked to the front door handle. The lock box does give her some problems when opening the door during her normal daily activities. That is a pain to deal with. Other options should be determined and provided.

    I did a lot of due diligence on this. I checked with quite a few companies as well as the one out there that has the most advertising. Nothing was really comparable. Bay Alarm offered personalized service and a non cookie-cutter approach to our needs. When the equipment arrived, you were on hand to offer help and support with installation and use. We were also given a lot of flexibility on our contact lists. What pleased me most was that you get either an e-mail or a quick phone call away and the person at the other end was alive! No recordings, frustrations and hands-on personal service. I would completely recommend them without reservation!

    I have never had to use the product for emergency. However, I have done monthly checks on the system. I am very pleased with the person on the other end of the line.
