    My mother is 91-years-young, and although I live with her 99% of the time, I do like to travel and hate to leave her alone. I researched various companies that offered the same service as Bay Alarm Medical and couldn't find any company that even came close to their services! Before ordering, I took advantage of the Chat feature and then called the company to ask a few more questions that my mother had - and placed the order right then. The sales people are very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. They listened to my concerns and answered our questions patiently - even when speaking to my mother, who is very hard of hearing. When the unit came, it was so easy to follow the directions and get the system up and running! One thing we like especially is that the base can be mounted on the wall! We took the alert button all around the yard to see how far my mom could travel and still be in range, and it is amazing!

    Each time we pressed the button, an agent answered within seconds and was always pleasant when we explained that we were simply testing out the unit. My mom is happy with the necklace. She says it is so light, she forgets she is wearing it. One of her concerns was that she would lean over a counter or something and set the button off, but that has not happened. It is hard enough to push that it won't go off just by touching it, but it is easy enough for her arthritic hands to push. You can't go wrong with Bay Alert Medical, and the monthly charge is worth every penny. I can now go away for the weekend and not worry about Mom falling or someone breaking in on her. Yes, if she hears someone trying to break in, she can push the alarm button for that too! This wonderful company handles all emergencies, and we are very thankful to have found them!

    Fortunately, we have not had to use the "alert." I like the style and it's user-friendly, which elderly folks like. My husband and I both have Parkinson's disease.     I ordered the Bay Alarm Medical Alert System for my husband - probably close to a year ago. Thank goodness he hasn't needed it during this time. It was so easy to order. We received it in 2-3 days. It's easy to understand the instructions and we had the system up and running in a very short time after unpacking it. The system works indoors on all floors of our home including the basement and outside in the yard as well which is the main reason I wanted to him to have it. He's retired and at home working with his power tools inside and outside - he's on a blood thinner due to heart issues. I work full-time and was increasingly distracted by the thoughts of him being injured and having no one at home to help him if he happened to have an accident or become suddenly ill.

    Now he has a "panic button" as I call it and should he need it, it's there and I can feel confident at work that he will be able to call for help while I'm away from the house.     I am pleased to repot that my efforts for resolution with Bay Medical was handled promptly, professionally and with great kindness from Jasmine in Customer Service. The billing dispute was handled without any problem. It appears my billing issues were the exception rather than the rule.

    Bay Alarm attempted to charge my credit card 14 times when I tried to sign up for service. This caused a fraud alert and I had to block the credit card and wait 10 days for a new one. I never set up the alarm unit because I received a bill for 2 years (over $500) plus a $30 billing fee. I paid almost $25 to ship the unit back to Bay Alarm. Now, I am told I must pay a minimum of 2 months service to stop the harassing bills. The system was never used once. This is insane. I would never advise anyone to use this company. They have a really messed up billing department. Now, they are threatening to continue billing with the eventual "collections company."

    After connecting the communication box for the first time, the box wouldn't connect to the Bay Alarm service. I telephoned Bay Alarm and was connected to a very pleasant woman who explained how to fix the problem. She called me back on my cellphone, and then walked me through the process of having my land line connect through the communication box to the emergency service. Once connected, she waited while I tried the first test call through the communication box and an emergency person answered within a few seconds. It was a very pleasant first experience.

My grandmother has been a little reluctant to wear her bracelet because she thinks it is ugly. The system didn't work with her cable hookup so I returned it (after many hours on the phone with their techs), and received a different type of system from the company (with many more hours on the phone with their techs). The new system still doesn't work, but we are now waiting for her new landline connection in order to try it one more time before throwing the towel in.

    I called the Customer Service number to order a system for my mother in New York based on reviews and customer comments. The operator transferred me to a representative whose phone went unanswered and went to voice mail. It was a very bad first impression. Is this the response my mother will get when she needs help? I left a message explaining I was not impressed and within minutes, I got a return call explaining that the transfer was made in error and the representative apologized. She then proceeded to alleviate my concerns and put in an order for a year of service. I have yet to receive the system to be able to set it up and give it a try, so this is strictly about the order processing. You would do well to ensure all calls are answered promptly and by a living, breathing person.

    My mother has felt constant pain in the chest. When she pushed the button, an operator responded immediately with some questions that she did not understand. She knows only a few words in English. She said, "I don't understand [the operator]." The operator called me. I was in Monterey at this time. The operator put three of us on conference call, and I could talk to my mother. After she explained what is going on, I asked the operator to call for an ambulance. She was taken into a hospital.     I made an emergency call by pushing the wrist button because of chest pains; I needed an ambulance. Operator answered, and I told her what I needed and was told she would get back to me. After about 5 minutes, during which I heard nothing, I was ready to call 911 myself when she came on and said help was on the way. In an emergency, this is very scary. You need some way of letting us know that you are still there. Some sound or something. This was my first time, and it was very disappointing.

    I ordered on 9/14/12 and my mother received it on 9/24/12 - wristband only, no lanyard or belt clip. Before I ordered, I asked about wearing lanyard with her medical alert necklace and was told it would not interfere. Computer site mentions pendant comes with interchangeable lanyard, wristband, and belt clip. I called on 9/24/12 and was told she would have it sent out, that Mom received a new model of alarm. On 10/2/12, I called again because Mom had not received the pendant and lanyard. I was told she would have it sent out. I said, “You were supposed to have it sent out on 9/25/12. Did it not get sent?” Yes, she said, but she would send out another.

    I told her to wait a few more days to see if it is received. I am disappointed. I thought she would be set up with the medical alarm about a week or so ago. I did send an email to the person I spoke with before I ordered it online. I left my phone number for her to call me, but she did not. I do have the names of the people I spoke with and the day and time. There is a 14-day period in which you can return it if not satisfied. I want that 14-day period to begin after we receive the pendant and lanyard. When Mom receives the correct pendant, she has to find a ride to the post office to return the wristband unit. She does not drive.

    I purchased this system for my mother and it didn't work. We tried everything, even called them to walk us through it and no help whatsoever. I advised them that I will be returning the machine and to provide/send a UPS paid return label. They refused and all they kept enforcing was I would be charged $150 if I didn't return it versus showing concern for my mother's well being, given the fact that I didn't have a working machine. Needless to say, I had to pay $35 to return the machine after already being charged $37 for the first month. I disputed the charge with my bank and after Bay Alert received the machine back, they credited me 27 bucks. So they charged me $10 for a non-working machine.

    Just unreal! This is the kind of customer service working Americans have to deal with. I will never use any of their services. Needless to say, they pushed me to the competitor. Worst customer service ever.

    On 3/10/2012, I paid $239 for payment of one year service. When I called 877-522-9633 to explain that I did not have any need to continue the service, I was told there is a no refund policy.     I purchased the service/unit for my mother in another city. The unit functions basically fine and Bay Alarm can hear us when we tested it, but we can't hear them; it’s heavy static. We've purchased new DSL filters and followed all their instructions but cannot get rid of the static. Customer service is only available Mondays-Fridays. I can only go to their home on weekends so we've been unable to resolve this. My mother has been hospitalized for a few weeks. Her husband is hard of hearing and asked me to come over then help with answering machine messages. Twenty-five messages on the machine and all of them full of static, and inaudible because of this unit. We're sending it back as we can't make it work and it’s currently causing more problems than it's solving.

    Purchased system for my father recently. He wanted to try using the pendant each way to see which he would prefer. The belt clip is not a secure clip. It pops off very easily. In order to use the pendant with the belt clip, we had to remove the lanyard. Once the lanyard is removed, it cannot be put back together. I called and had another lanyard sent. The lanyard we received must have been an older version. It was completely worthless. The clasp comes undone too easily. The wristband works well, but my father likes being able to change between the lanyard and the wristband. It seems the pendant could be modified so that it can be used easily in any of these three forms. Another thought... maybe the wristband could be a dual purpose watch?

    I purchased the Bay Alarm Medical alert system for my mother who lives alone.     Well, it took a while to convince my recently widowed Mom (80) that, while remaining in her own home was a wonderful option for her, the risk of having an unforeseen fall or other incapacitating event was too high without the 'safety net' of the remote alarm system.     I passed out on Feb. 13, 2012. When I came around, I was still very groggy, but I remembered to push my alarm button. I could hear the voice on the machine, but couldn't go to it.
