Ebay has become all about big business. I'm an occasional seller & recently sold a phone. They're insisting on holding my funds for 12+ days. Claiming "since I haven't sold in awhile". It doesn't take a big company like Ebay more than 2 business days after delivery to clear me. Plus their fees are outrageous. I have other things to sell but it won't be on Ebay

I just wanted people to know that you can scam eBay. A buyer bought a pair of shoes -$80. They tried to return them because they didn’t fit. I declined the return. They opened another one because they aren’t very intelligent: eBay refunded them immediately and they got to keep the shoes. About a year ago, I sold a candle set. The buyer kept it for weeks, and then opened a not as described return saying they were dirty. And sent them back damaged. I opened a claim, and they refunded me the shipping and item cost, but they charged me $18 in shipping the damaged item back. They said that sellers are responsible for paying for return shipping, and typically do not get refunded initial shipping, even if the buyer has lied. eBay scams their sellers, and apparently buyers can scam them too!

I’ve been waiting on my hat for over a week. The seller or eBay won’t refund d my money back. I’ve been scammed. I will never use them again. It’s ridiculous. It’s like they are protecting the seller against me. I paid my money and can’t get my item.

eBay is an absolutely *criminal* company that has a corporate policy to rob honest, hardworking sellers on the platform of their funds--all so they can unjustly collect interest off those funds for weeks or longer. I sold a collectible and created a USPS label through the platform; shipped the item *same day*; and it was delivered the following morning. My Seller dashboard immediately showed the item as delivered, and the USPS website also confirmed delivery at 11:23am to the buyer's zip code. The buyer left me immediate positive feedback. Easy, right? Wrong. eBay chose to place my funds on a 30-day hold, citing a non-existent issue with the tracking--even though their own tracking number clearly showed it as delivered. So, I called Customer Service, assuming it would be a quick and easy call to get my funds released.

After an HOUR on the phone, arguing with and escalating the issue to 3 different levels of "Customer Service," each person kept trying to explain there was nothing they could do, because eBay had "a policy" to hold funds for an exorbitant amount of time. I asked why the funds for my specific transaction were on hold. What possibly could have gotten flagged? I was a model seller: I created a shipping label *through eBay* within minutes of the buyer submitting payment; I shipped the item *same day*; it was delivered *the very next day,* with clear delivery confirmation via the USPS tracking number. Plus, the buyer left positive feedback, so there was no question as to whether they received the item.

I asked Customer Service what aspect of my transaction triggered any potential policy to create a 30-day hold on my proceeds. They could not give me an answer. Just that eBay would not be removing the hold, despite all the proof in the world of delivery and buyer satisfaction. eBay Inc. is a bunch or CROOKS and HUSTLERS who intentionally withhold sellers' money for bogus reasons, just so they can profit from additional interest. They belong in jail.

I have been a seller on eBay for 4 years and eBay is holding my money with no good explanation. I did have my account restricted in February but I reconciled it and received a message from eBay on March 22: Success! All Seller Privileges Restored. Hi Shannon, Thank you for resolving the open issues. Your selling privileges and listings have been fully restored. To maintain marketplace safety, funds earned from your sales will be available for payout within 3 days after delivery confirmation of the item. After we’ve seen ongoing confirmation of successful deliveries, you’ll start receiving your funds again 2 days after the buyer pays. We appreciate your cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, just get in touch. Thanks for being part of the eBay community.

Since then, they have been holding my funds (the money I made as a profit from sales) for more than a month. Briefly, eBay released some of the funds but then it stopped. I have called them 6 times and EACH TIME they give me a different answer - none of which are true. Next to each sale, it says I only have to wait 3 days after the item is delivered to receive the funds. Ebay said it does not have a date when the funds will be released - they just tell me to keep shipping items. They are asking me to continue to work and buy inventory for free. This is my money and I feel like this is theft.

eBay has the worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. You have a choice between their pre-written issues or talking to an AI chatbot which can't answer any issues. And they always circle you back to help articles. I sold $25K with them last year and I have NEVER been able to get them on the phone. I'm starting to move my product to other sites because of this lack of concern for their selling clientele. The only ones they make happy are their stockholders.

eBay is a thief. Refusing to release my money which has been in their possession for 16 days now. No end to the funds hold in sight and no explanation for why. Not a darn thing I can do to facilitate the release.

I sold an engine on eBay on april 15th 2026. Website stated I would be paid within 3 days of delivery which was bad enough, but they are now holding my 2K because buyer had me ship to different zip code. His was residential and his daughters was a business. Now they say it will be May 17th before they release my funds and yet have proof of delivery! They say they can't over ride system to release my funds. I'm not stupid, yes they can! So they get interest off my 2K for a month and I'm without my money and they made an additional $350 fee off my sale!! Don't use ebay!!! We are a small family business and they are hurting us!! And don't care. Deborah **-Evolved Auto

I purchased a Hurricane juicer from eBay. It says delivered, but I never received it. It did not state where it was delivered. I was home that day, and I also have a porch and mailbox. Where was it delivered? Please help. eBay has closed my case, but I’m so livid and disheartened by the way they handled this.
