My experience with Ebay, if you don't pay for overpriced advertising, they throttle you until you do. They then sell your product, take a giant portion of your money and make you do all of the work. If you are truly lucky, they may change your shipping to a flat rate priority, where you can pay another third of your product funds with no explanation.

I am a 19 year seller on eBay with a perfect satisfaction score and will never use eBay again. The selling fees are outrageous and the selling processes (specifically shipping) are either seriously flawed or corrupt. I sold a golf club. I packed it, made and measured the box, weighed it and all was as listed. I took it with prepaid label to UPS where they measured it, weighed it and gave me a receipt after verifying it matched what the prepaid label represented. I have a receipt. The club weighed 3 lbs. Several days later eBay sends me an email stating that the shipper (UPS) states that the 3 lb package I shipped actually weighed over 40 pounds. One golf club weighing 40 pounds. It's impossible.

Trying to get support from eBay is a useless endeavor. It is almost impossible to get a human to answer the phone. Those who answer are from ** or ** or God knows where.... and most cannot speak clear English. None of them have any authority to rectify a problem. Bottom line I dropped a 3 pound box at a UPS store and had it verified as 3 lbs by UPS and then days later eBay charges me an addition 30 plus dollars and states it actually weighed 40 plus pounds. They have already debited my bank account and it has been a week since I challenged eBay customer service.

Ebay users beware. The selling processes suck. The customer service group is a feckless bunch of powerless kids who cannot take any real action. After 19 years as a seller there I have finally had enough of their shipping scams. I recommend all sellers find an honest company to deal with. Ebay is worthless and or corrupt.

We were Top Sellers and eBay did everything they could to disqualify us. Went form 60k a year to 3K over 10 years . AI descriptions and poor customer service and 0 views for items equals "Goodbye eBay."

eBay has gotten extremely worse in the last 2 years. The quality of their products has taken a nose dive off a cliff and then of course you must return the LOW QUALITY items and there is no way to contact customer service by phone and their website does not allow you to chat or talk with a LIVE person. No customer service & low quality products is a recipe for failure!!!!

I’ve been selling high end name brand such as Chanel, Hermes, Gucci and high end jewelry on eBay for 20 years. I have never once had any issues with my buyers. Carry a 100% feedback. After I sold a pair of Chanel boots for $1250- $1400 to buyer, eBay has decided to hold my money for 30 days claiming it’s high a high end sale. I’ve sold a $3300 i Gurhan bracelet. So, they are refusing to release my money "per policy" when in fact what they’re doing is collecting interest off my fair money. I’m done with eBay. They do not care.

I have a serious and unresolved issue with eBay Inc., concerning approximately $30,000 USD in withheld funds on my seller account. Despite fulfilling all of my obligations as a seller, including confirmed delivery of all purchased items and compliance with eBay’s seller policies, eBay has continued to withhold these funds without providing a clear reason or timeline for release. I have attempted to resolve this matter through eBay’s internal channels, including contacting their support representatives and requesting escalation to the Payments and Risk departments. To date since October 2024, I have not received a satisfactory explanation, nor have the funds been released. This extended hold has caused significant financial hardship and disruption to my business operations.

If you are a small business like I am, selling sports cards, eBay’s fees will ensure that you never bring much profit back. They are a greedy money eater and I plan to look into a class action lawsuit against them for the gouging they do. Even when you make sales, you end up with less money.

0 stars. A few years ago, eBay restricted my account for unknown reasons. Back-then when I asked why, I was refused with any additional information. Fast-forward to today, my account is still restricted, with no clear reason. Account: Delete. I've never had a company block me (their customer) from being a patron, for apparently no reason at all. It was perplexing and one of those rare curiosities. Unsolved mystery for the ages I guess. Goodbye eBay, good riddance.

20 years! NO MORE! China has not only taken over the website in many ways. I.e. everything is coming from their with $20 shipping charges. I purchased 2 items of the same thing and they doubled up on the $20 and I did not notice at the time. Until it was too late. Then somehow something was bought from my account on my eBay site- I looked at it but did not purchase it! But I was told someone in my family got online and purchased it! He acted like it came from some reliable sources. I was not able to receive a refund. This came on top of the fact that last month I did not receive 2 items last month- for a total of $120 and they did nothing about it. I am just done~ And cannot wait to see them just fall like the junk they are... They owe me a good $200 for last month over loss.

I sold an item on eBay. They are "holding" the sale funds for over a month. I contacted buyer and buyer had no complaints. Item was delivered; I have proof of delivery and confirmation from buyer item arrived in good condition. It's over $1000, so it is grand theft. It's extortion as eBay wants an extra fee to speed up fund transfer. Ebay should be paying me interest on the amount held. If this was not a company it would be a lawsuit and criminal charge.

I haven't used my account since 2015. I only bought and sold refurbished computers and computer parts as an LLC and had a good rating upon last using my account. When I tried to sign in, it told me I didn't have an account. I created a new account to sell a water cooler and 2 minutes after creating a new account, before even listing anything, I received an email saying I have been permanently banned from using eBay because I have been deemed a threat to the community.

Upon asking for clarification, I was told it was because of "proprietary reasons" that they refuse to tell me, and said "yes removing it something you want." (Whatever that means because it's in english but the words do not make sense). They also told me it was in my best interest to not ask any more questions regarding my account. (Is that a threat or what?) Then, 15 minutes after that email, they sent me a welcome to eBay email with a link. When I click the link, it goes to a page that says I'm not a registered user.

I purchased an item on eBay on May 4, 2025, and never received it. The seller uploaded a USPS tracking number that appeared to show delivery to my ZIP code, but when I contacted USPS, they confirmed the tracking number was not related to me or my address. It had been used months earlier for a completely different package. Despite providing this information to eBay, including USPS confirmation that the tracking was spoofed or recycled, eBay denied my refund and my appeal. They chose to side with a fraudulent tracking entry instead of protecting a legitimate buyer. There is clearly a loophole in eBay’s system where sellers can upload fake tracking to avoid refunds, and eBay will do nothing about it. I lost my money and got no support from eBay. Extremely disappointing for a company of this size.

I ordered a Gshock watch from a seller and the tracking number never updated until it arrived at my door step this Friday. I have conversation chat with the seller on my account that shows he agreed to let me return it if it showed up since I bought another from a different seller. eBay customer service said yes they see that conversation and would help me. Today I get a notice saying they are sticking with their decision on not helping me get my money back. So now I have two of the same watches. I have emailed the seller also and he's not even answering. I will not be using eBay any longer. Also they are no longer open on weekends to help out customers.

I purchased a new aluminum radiator that advertised a 5 year warranty from an online seller on Ebay. When I received the package I noticed there was no physical address for the seller. My gut feeling said, keep the box it came in. I installed the radiator on my car and it leaked. After numerous call to Ebay, I was finally able to speak with an Ebay representative, who in essence said, Ebay doesn't have a phone number or address for me to use to contact the seller, for a replacement radiator. I continued to use the email system provided on the Ebay website to reach out to the seller, to no avail. Now, I'm out $250.00!!

I've called every Ebay phone number I can find on the internet and each time I get the same recorded message. It seems to me Ebay doesn't care about the buyer and what happens after the sale. I feel, a seller who sells a defective item on the Ebay platform and does not honor their warranty should require Ebay to be responsible, for allowing a fraudulent a seller to advertise warranty claims on their (Ebay) website. I have received NO HELP from EBAY!! They deserve -5 Stars!!

As a seller on eBay since 2007 I experienced either difficulty or impossibility to reach an agent who is able to assist with a problem. eBay created a labyrinth of next to impossible selections that are not geared to easily accomplish the consumers required request. For example: At the Buyers request, I attempted to cancel the $1500 sale and refund his money. $1274 was my portion eBay deposited in my bank account. eBay created a convoluted series of confusing steps I followed. I learned weeks later eBay prevented the refund and all my efforts were unsuccessful. Why, I wondered. What became evident to me was eBay designed a system that allows eBay to 1. hold onto money as long as possible, 2. eBay delayed my efforts to imposes penalties against me (Seller). 3. The Buyer is given only choices to select that eBay uses against the Seller to impose various fees.

eBay the gave me 3 days to respond to the Buyers complaint that did not reflect reality. eBay offered “Item Not Received”. While this is the result of a canceled sale it is not accurate or applicable to say “item not received”. However no options are available for the Buyers to be accurate or add his own words. Also the Seller is not able correct the path eBay has chosen. eBay forces the seleection that allows them to benefit. eBay designed a system that ends up generating money to eBay. eBay did not allow a quick and easy way to unwind the sale within 72 hours or cancel the sale by mutual agreement and quickly refund the Buyer. There was no dispute. eBay created and required their dispute process that enabled eBay to keep money longer, and charge fees because they insisted on a long drawn out process instead of a quick and easy refund.

But it gets worse. The next sale eBay put a hold on all the proceeds approximately $185. OK. No big deal. I was out of town for medical reasons. I asked the Buyer to cancel the order and I would not sell to anyone else. I received an e-mail asking to Agree to a Refund. I selected the blue box Agree to Refund. Ah but eBay has other ideas. They provided a limited choice for the buyer to select and pretty much forced “Item Not Delivered” that created a dispute where no dispute existed and here we go again. A long drawn out process while eBay holds the Buyers money and charges me “dispute”fees and other charges I don’t understand.

eBay at all times help the Buyers money - I got nothing. Again I received an email giving me three days to agree to a refund. Again I agreed. eBay prevented the refund. I contacted eBay got to an escalation agent explained my goal. He agreed eBay is holding the money from this sale. In short on Aril 28th the agent assured me the refund would be complete within 24 hours. That never happened.

May 10th eBay sends me an e-mail advising me they are going to take $216 from my bank account, and there is nothing I can do. I requested a call from an eBay agent which has often been a difficult process. Agent John, in escalations seemed to be in agreement but eBay apparently follows the customer is never right so John required my call to be transferred.

After numerous tries I was transferred to an agent in the Selling dept. Asking Anna questions produced a disconnect / dial tone. This is a tactic, I experienced on prior calls with eBay. As expected Anna didn’t show the courtesy to call me back, apologize or address my questions. This solidifies my belief that dropping the call was not an accident. I believe nothing eBay does is an accident including reaching website pages that don’t exist in an effort to frustrate the consumer into giving up. After hitting a dead end instead of the help I am looking for. This repeated on each try so I get the feeling it is all by design.

So I bought a rebuilt salvage title Cadillac on eBay, it wasn’t cheap. I thought I was doing OK cause the seller offered a 2000 mile warranty satisfaction guarantee, in the car only have 31,000. The title showed up a month after the car. The seller Discount Luxury, because the transmission shutters at one point agreed to take the car back and then backed out.

I tried to transfer the car into my name, the title had been jumped like three or four times in the back from one dealership to another. It has the wrong mileage on it. Names have been crossed out and wrote over. It’s not usable. Ebay will do nothing because of the rebuilt title. They don’t warrant anything. After battling back-and-forth with him, trying to get the seller to produce a good title they still will do nothing and to make matters worse. They remove the ad that I bought the car from giving me some kind of excuse that they need the space and they will not make the seller complete the sale so I can leave a bad review. He’s got 100% positive feedback and I’d like to let other people know that he’s a crook.

I wrote I never received. The seller is offended. I contact e-Bay customer service with screenshots of threatening mail like address can not be found and extra charges are going to apply. I explain that every delivery man finds my PO mail box easy and this is checked and clear and there is no mistakes. I am getting the answer with advices to check my home address, like house or apartment number, etc. and they close the conversation! Extremely rude and disrespectful!

They did not read what I wrote them or they do not know what PO box is? No even reaction for my screenshot about site which delivery service redirects me is considered dangerous and security system no way lets me to open it "to correct the address" More than that! They say delivery is not their responsibility as a selling platform!!! I demand my money back now and I will go all legal ways to get them. Of course, never going to use e-bay anymore. So, trying to process a refund is problematic. First it does not allow me to refund everything as, guess what, eBay charges a fee for the return, and second, tells me I have to wait 7 days before I request an insurance claim with USPS.
