As a Seller or a future seller on eBay, beware. eBay charges a listing fee and offers you a discounted shipping if you purchase thru them. Then when item sells charges a 10 % final Value Fee on item with an additional 10% on actual shipping. When sales are slow this greedy company charges an additional 5% saying your selling is below standard, nothing like getting kicked in the teeth when you are down. Very Greedy Company in my opinion!!!!
Was told that I had to pay shipping because I selected a reason for returning that “the system” did not compel them to waive shipping. However “The system” only gave me four options which none of them fit my real reason but I could not continue forward without selecting one of the poorly fitted options. But I did however give full explanation in comments afterward which I included a picture of the false advertisement along with my explanation. But customer service (Cindy, then Joanna, then Mark) said even though they see I clearly said that “the system” won’t let them do anything. Said Mark was highest I could go. I asked for a formal review of my recorded phone call that was over an hour long and Mark said he would submit it. I have heard nothing. Buyer beware!
Once again we have had to spend hours and hours dealing with an issue that eBay should have sorted out in five seconds flat. Amongst the issues we have regularly with eBay is the lack of knowledge of its agents - we can often be told completely different things by different agents - and we have to repeat ourselves time after time. I am not exaggerating when I say that often problems can take in excess of TEN hours of calling to sort out - Crazy!! And I am certain that they make it so hard because most people would actually just give up rather than put themselves through all the grief. Sellers should particularly watch out for buyers from abroad as when a problem arises it is the buyers countries eBay which is tasked with sorting the issue out. This simply doesn't work as they do not have a decent enough grasp of even the basic eBay rules and will simply side with their buyer.
The biggest single issue we have however is that eBay do not accept complaints. If we messed any one of our many thousands of eBay customers around for even a fraction of the grief they have put us through we'd be banned from selling with them forever and with good reason. However eBay themselves can mess you around till kingdom come but there is a ZERO complaints procedure. There is simply nothing anyone can do about it. Ebay's customer service is a farce - I am disgusted with them.
Most shipping fees way too high.. These could be fixed..had a order come from California and it took 3 business days..nice except I had to send an extra $ 15.00 to FedEx for import duties after paying eBay $ 35.00 US..next two orders go to global ship center and both zig zag all over just to get there. Then they get to miss Ontario and zig zag again. Does this not cost a lot . Of course customers pay this so ok. All my 3 orders were ordered within a 24 hour time..one 3 days. Two took 2 weeks. 3rd still waiting. And if this one shows up soon. Next step..CANCEL EBAY. DOUG
Spent ten minutes on refund while eBay guy kept making excuses. Finally denied refund since purchase was over 30 days earlier. This had been established at start of conversation. Pitiful. Don't waste your time with them. Go directly to your credit-card company.

eBay asked for my feedback after I (attempted) to submit an order. My feedback is below which describes the entire fiasco. ---- Frankly, your checkout process sucks! Today we tried to order the following item on eBay; 2010-2013 Kia Forte Ac Heater Climate Control Unit 97250-1MXXX $63.48. One family member used 3 credit cards today trying to purchase the item above that would not process. He also used his spouse’s card to no avail. He called eBay and PayPal and got a runaround. He then called me (as he needed this part very fast) and I tried to order it as a Guest but my 2 credit cards (both in good standing) were rejected.
My PayPal account expired years ago so I created a new one. No luck in getting that to accept my credit card or helping with the order. I too called eBay (2X) who blamed the bank, the credit cards, the seller then PayPal. I called PayPal. They gave me the same runaround then saying it was an eBay problem. Solution: We went to the seller's website and ordered it there even though it cost us $9 more plus $11 in shipping.
This was the worse experience we have ever had with an online purchase. Amazon you are not. BTW, I did try to sign in with my old eBay email and password but it couldn’t find it, no doubt expired due to non-use. My wife and I were very active in eBay several years ago and were planning to go back on eBay to do some selling. Instead I’ll cancel my newly created PayPal account and take my online business elsewhere. Your business model and concern for the little customers is absolutely dismissal. In essence, both eBay and PayPal told us “not our problem”.
I order these thru eBay same on Amazon and they Don't just fit Mercedes E320 at all and eBay Know this because they hide the reviews. BUT they're not even HART brakes and rotors parts as shown. Lol. They're not even in those Boxes. It's Chinese company and Pads from cheap dynamic friction CO. $25 pads even come in their boxes and same with rotors company from China. Not HART and a 100's completes that are hidden online and just plain wrong. TOTAL FRAUD FROM CA. eBay bank will not getting paid for these parts.
I am sorry for those buyers who have had bad experiences with eBay purchases. I am a seller, eBay's Customer. I leave two stars because eBay has lost the vision of who they are which was a place for those to find items that are difficult to find, collectibles and items no longer produced at great prices. The items you do not see on other sites. Somewhere along the way they have decided they want to be like Amazon. The changes to do that have harmed the seller, the buyer and the quality of the site in whole.
Fraudulent transactions have been their biggest nemesis causing distrust and friction between buyer and seller. I can say without doubt I have at least 3 transactions a month or more of a fraudulent nature in which I am out the product, the money and the shipping. The seller is very aware that many folks file false returns arming themselves with eBay policies and using them in a way to manipulate a free item. This has caused sellers to be very alert for any whiff of suspicious activity thus causing friction, distrust and just a bad buying atmosphere for the buyers. I would need a few pages to spell out the exact mechanisms of the dysfunction in detail but they were all brought on by a vision to be like Amazon.
As a seller I also buy on eBay but honestly it's been a hassle looking for stuff when it's cluttered with somewhat related Chinese items that you cannot even filter out since eBay has provided warehousing of their products in the USA rendering the filter by USA useless. Just saying? But hey, I am sure Walmart could become Saks Fifth Ave and the Mets can become the Yankees no problem, right? Matter of fact Walmart would probably do better if it were adjacent to Macy's in the mall would it not? All I am saying is eBay has totally lost its vision trying to become something it will never ever be and I am not sure they can even turn back at this point.
eBay do you realize all of the scams going on? Do you even care about the sellers? Because of your buyer protection nonsense, scammers can easily scam the sellers out of their products and money. I myself lost more than 1000 dollars on an iPhone XR that I sold on eBay. Buyer was using a stolen credit card, and for some reason the postal service could not get delivery confirmation, and guess what? Mr eBay and PayPal side with Mr scammer and I lost my item and money. This has happened thousands and thousands of times to a lot of sellers. I bet it happens every day. Isn't it time for you to change your buyer protection crap and take care of the sellers that work so hard to make money in honest way.
I ordered one "Beach Sand Play Toys Set 21pcs/set Bucket Rakes Sand Wheel Watering Sand Toys PL" on 1st July 2019 but today is 16th August 2019. Still I didn't received my order and they suspended my account (I don't know why). There is no help option and my money gone with this ** website. I will not use eBay anymore. There is no help from eBay site. Please don't buy anything from eBay. They are fraud.
