I just received my new Maytag washer today. I called the registration number provided, and the "salesperson" (who was obviously NOT a customer service representative) immediately started badmouthing Best Buy (where I purchased the appliance) and told me that the 5-year unlimited warranty was in fact, absolute garbage and proceeded to list all the limitations on the warranty. I responded that the representative at Best Buy told us that this is a 5-year unlimited warranty which includes parts and labor. He said that they lied to me. He said Best Buy is notorious for lying about the warranty. I quickly realized that his scam was to sell me a "better" warranty. WHAT A SCUMBAG!!!!! I called back a second time and got the exact same routine. This is MAYTAG, not just some rogue operator.

I contacted Maytag because my dryer had condensation on the inside dryer door window as well as small water puddles in the dryer drum. The technician sent to my house Paul did the least to resolve my issue. He used a tester to see if the dryer vent was clogged then left. His tester only measured air only however my other cycles are not working properly. I spent $392.20 for a technician to do absolutely nothing.

The controls are difficult to use. The washer does work well unless you use the highest water level and my top load machine broke after 2 years.

Maytag washer is the worst I've ever owned. Just over 2 years old and needs a control panel - this will be control panel #3. Original was replaced at 4 months (Under warranty) and now needs to be replaced again along with a pump. The washer has NEVER worked effectively, either leaves load sopping wet and needs to be drained and spun again, or gets "stuck" at 1 minute or 15 minutes and just keeps running. When I shut off manually the load is done. I personally have enough to do in life without babysitting my washing machine to be sure it stops. When it continues to run I'm thinking this is causing excessive wear and tear on an already bad machine. Additionally, if anything gets stuck in the machine you need a technician to come out and service, unless you are savvy and strong enough to lift the machine and take it apart to access where to unclog.

I purchased a Maytag set 2 1/2 years ago. I have already changed the heating elements in the dryer 3 times and today the washer lock mechanism broke! Parts are not available and the magnet trick didn't work. As far as I know you cannot bypass this lock. I bought Maytag because I thought it was quality, I was wrong! It's nothing but JUNK. Washer model MVW4505MW1. Dryer model MED4500MW0.

My washer came on time but I found out the washer they sent me is the wrong washer. I've spent over 20 phone calls Plus to Maytag you can't speak to a human, it just takes you from computer to computer and you sit on hold forever. I tried the corporate office, they're useless. All they do is send you back into their same old dumb line and you go back on the computer and sit on hold. I am trying to get the washer returned and the correct one delivered but this is become impossible. If I knew Whirlpool and Maytag were merged and looked up the problems they have the biggest complaint is their phone system you can't speak to a human. And their call back system that's a joke. If I can't get a response from them I am going to go through the bank and get a chargeback and get another washer somewhere else. Washer MTW4205SW.

Horrible. A waste of time and money. I just added my Gain to the machine, and I left the top open for a few minutes to go take the sheets off of my bed and as I'm walking back, I hear the water draining mostly full of water and all my damn Gain down the drain. That's at least 20.00 worth of water and 4.00 worth of Gain.

It does no good to have a warranty with these people. Come out to my house 3 times. Made excuses every time. Got someone local. Hasn't not worked since we got it.

I had the washer for 3 years new and control panel stop working and the washers does not work at all. Call customer service and all they could give me was by their extended service plan or their monthly plan which is close to $400. Would not get this washer or this company ever again. Customer no help.

We bought our new washer 9 months ago and it is already broken. Repair guy said everything needed to be replaced. Customer service is terrible and no help. Don’t waste your money on their products.

I bought a Maytag washer and it isn’t even 2 Years old and it stopped working. I had to take out an extended warranty now. The warranty that comes with the washer is WORTHLESS AND MISLEADING. I have been without a washer now for 2 weeks now. They ordered parts and then that didn’t fix it. The repair guy came again today because he said it was the motor. Well that wasn’t it and now had to order another 2 parts. He thinks it’s the electrical. Now it won’t be till next week to see if that will fix it. It’s $766.00 washer and is worthless. I’m single so it does not get used a lot and it can’t even last 2 years. I’m so angry with Maytag and you shouldn’t have to take out a warranty on a new washer.

I bought this washer for my new home. I was told it had a one year warranty. Of course they tried to sell me instead of warranty. The washer quit working four or five times less than a year. The motherboard went out the clutch went out on the transmission, it would not drain. It would not spin. It was never balanced. They sent out a repair man four times and the fifth time the repairman got it running so the warranty was not covered. I had to pay for the service call. I’ve own Maytag over the years and they were good products. This one is no longer made by Maytag. It’s made by whirlpool. Do not buy it. It’s nothing but Junk. They would’ve been happy to fix it for me if I would’ve paid for it.

Bought a Maytag and expected to get a quality product. Biggest mistake we made, had trouble from the first month, was not used for a large family so it wasn't abused, constant resetting back to factory settings, finally died after two years. Save your money!!!

I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer set 6 months ago. The control board just went out of the washer. Now the part is on back order, almost a month. Having to haul all my clothes elsewhere to wash! I should be reimbursed for all the added cost and time! I will never buy another maytag!

The worst washing machine I have ever owned. Junk. It is a Maytag Centennial. Never again. A Maytag washer or dryer. Done with them. The first and last.

I was recommended to invest in Maytag washer, so two months back I got it delivered. It worked for month and half. It was covered by standard warranty, the technician diagnosed faulty control panel. To get the part it will take 12 working days and after wards it might take a week to get on the schedule, so we are looking at close to month. PLEASE Don’t buy Maytag/Whirlpool bad product vs worse customer services.

I bought my dryer 5/2/26; it worked for 2 weeks. I've had 5 service appointment; the first one was rescheduled. He showed up to the second one and stated we had a dead leg. We fixed the breaker, tested it ourselves, and it was pulling the correct voltage, but my dryer still wasn't working. So I made another service appointment, which then was rescheduled twice. He showed up today, did the same exact thing, claimed he switched wires that he already switched, and left. Now my dryer still isn't working, and I have to wait another 2 weeks. Savage!!!

Bought a Maytag on 5/10/26 and here I find myself at a washateria washing my clothes waiting for them to come service our brand new washer machine this upcoming week. Maytag was very prompt in setting up a service date but the whole idea of a brand new machine not operating in just over a month really makes me wary of the unit itself.

I bought a Maytag washer last year and it broke and called for support and all they did was try to sell me a warranty. No help support, no tech support whatsoever. I bought this because it had a ten year warranty. The piece of crap broke just after a year and now they want 300 to 360 dollars to fix it. Only paid 599. Not fair at all. This is a big scam and they are taking advantage of people selling then a machine that brakes right after warranty. They know about problem because it's the number one problem with the machine shift actuator. The repair is 300 dollars. What a rip off.

I own a 4.3 top load Maytag washer and I will never purchase another one. The machine makes you clean the washer without warning. You load the clothes with detergent and fabric softener and the it will not start so you have to take everything out of the washer and run the cleaning cycle. The detergent is wasted and there is no previous warning.

If I could give a 0 I would have. I bought a Maytag top load washer 3/24. Within 10 months it broke the first time. Under warranty, repaired, no problem. A few months later it broke again, Paid almost $200 for repair, fast forward months, same issue, more money. Now it's 2 years old and guess what? You got it, it's broken. Customer service is a joke, they don't care, they just want more money. So frustrating! Now I guess I'm going to bring this to the landfill and buy another. Problem is what brand isn't made to break?

Disappointing to say the least. We purchased model MWM6230HC1 at the end of 2020 with a delivery in February of 2021. It’s just my wife and I so heavy use was not an issue. After just 2 years of use we began to get black debris in the machine after a cycle. After disassembly we discovered an excessive amount of buildup in the drum and spin basket. Approximately one year later we noticed the drum was sitting on the floor. Then suddenly the machine stopped working. Once a repair worker diagnosed the problem it was found that the drain pump failed causing the main control panel to burn out. $625 to repair a machine I purchased 5 years prior for $1000 is insane. I have to say I’m very disappointed in a product that I thought had a good product but apparently it is not.

On June 1st, I bought a Maytag washer and dryer from Lowe's and when they were delivered, the delivery guys installed them and started them up and then left and not 5 minutes later, the dryer had a thumping noise and I opened the door and a piece of plastic had broken off somewhere... I called the delivery guys back and they came back and saw and heard that the dryer was defective... so I got another dryer and it was installed and so far it is working. Then, when I went to wash a load of clothes (this was the 3rd load I had washed since I got the washer, remind you now I had NOT had the washer 3 weeks) and it would not start up.... I was lucky to have purchased the protection plan from Lowe's... When I go to get my washer, let me tell you ...it WILL NOT BE A MAYTAG! So disappointed in the quality of Maytags nowadays...They used to be the best!

When my wife and I were married, one of our gifts was a Maytag washer. That washer lasted almost 22 years with no issues. The washer finally died, and I thought that it was such a reliable brand that I would go and purchase another one. Well 3 weeks after purchasing the new washer, I am thoroughly disappointed! There has been nothing but issues, and regardless of the warranty I will be switching to a different manufacturer.

The 10-year warranty is pointless because you cannot get anyone on the phone or a call back. I was constantly directed to different 800 numbers that were all the same line. What a sham of a company.

Complete JUNK. Washing machine lasted 14 months from New. NEVER AGAIN will I purchase a Maytag product! Never! Maytag was a brand recognized by the world as a great product in the 90s. They must have hired 3 year olds to manufacture them now. SHAME ON YOU MAYTAG. 2 months out of warranty. SERIOUSLY! Shift actuator and motherboard toast! Wow! I have no words for the absolute rubbish of the product brand.

Our Maytag washer is two years old and has broke three times.

We've had an awful experience with our Maytag washer that is less than three years old. The customer service provided by them was even worse. I will never buy another and will discourage everyone I know from getting one.

I purchased a brand-new Maytag front-load washer and dryer from Lowe's less than 30 days ago after waiting nearly a month for delivery. The washing machine leaked water all over my garage floor during normal use, causing water damage, mold and mildew concerns, and damage to carpeting that now needs to be replaced. When I contacted Lowe's, I was told they would not replace or return the washer and that I needed to work with Maytag. I also purchased an extended protection plan through Lowe's, but was told it wouldn't help because the machine is still under the manufacturer's warranty.

Terrible customer service with delivery. Bought a dryer online, scheduled delivery. Gave a 8-6 (10 hours!) delivery window. Blew me off entirely, were a complete no-show, never came, never notified (no call, no email, no text). I scheduled a 2nd delivery, again a no-show. They had called 3 days prior to say I was "the first stop on the route". I waited until 10:20 AM and no show. Again no phone call, no e-mail, no text.

Terrible. Got a Maytag less than a month ago. It sounds like a rocket when it’s filling. Does not spin the bulky cloths well, they are wringing wet. Trying to get in touch with someone is next to impossible. Terrible.

Stay away from this washer - Maytag MVWC565FW2. It will not ring out a very small rug; actually, NEVER- not once has it done so. It also takes forever to wash a small load of clothes. This is the absolute worst washer I have ever owned! What good is it to have a new washer but still have to go to the laundromat to wash your rugs? PIECE OF JUNK!!!! And it wasn't cheap. ZERO STARS!

My wife needed a new washer and dryer, so going by the name Maytag. They were delivered after using two times, it sounded like a train going through the house. Maytag said they would sent out a service person for a brand new washer and dryer🤬. Maytag is Crap, I would not buy Maytag. It's Crap, a waste of money. Did I say it crap. Never buy maytag. And before you buy anything look at the review, we did not. DID I SAY MAYTAG IS CRAP.

I purchased my Maytag washer in May of 2025 (on Memorial Day.) In the first week of June, it stopped working. I put in a service request through their website and they sent a technician from Sears to diagnose it. I was charged 138 dollars for the call, but was told this would be waived if I accepted the repair. The technician informed me that the lid lock was broken. However, the cost of the repair was going to be 500 dollars, 200 for parts and 300 for labor. I refuse to pay the cost of the machine to repair the lid lock, so I ordered the part off of Maytag's website myself for 70ish dollars.

Pile of shit. Needs Second wiring harness. Bought 28! months ago.

As a military wife stationed in Panama and Hawaii our Maytag washers were outside. I loved them. I finally purchased the high end Maytag washer and dryer in 2021. The photograph below is a photograph of a set of kingside sheets in a huge washer so deep I have to stand on my tiptoes. My clothes come out tied in knots. I pull them out of the washer like a rope. Never enough water…I was everything on bulky to have enough water to cover the clothes. Now at 4 years old writing is wearing off and it’s beginning to rust. 8 years in tropical climates no rust visible!

I purchased a Maytag washer in May of 2025, brand new from Lowe’s. I had to call maintenance to come fix it after about three months, no biggie as it was under warranty. In March of this year the washer broke and would not respond or drain. I called Maytag, they sent out a representative to fix it. They fixed the lid lock, still didn’t work and they recommended fixing the control panel. That also didn’t work. Instead of spending yet another $500 on fixing my less than a year old washer for the THIRD TIME, I have elected to just purchase a new washer of a different brand. I will never, for as long as I live buy another Maytag product. I am beyond disappointed.

I have a 2 year old Maytag Commercial grade washer and dryer. They are, without a doubt, the worst laundry machines I have ever owned. The washer can not handle a set of queen size sheets as the pillowcases seem to throw it off balance and it won't spin. If an extra washcloth is with a ste of towels, same thing. 3 service calls and the answer is, that's just how sensitive these machines are. SERIOUSLY! The matching dryer had 3 service calls within the first 6 weeks, they final rebuilt it. DON'T BUY.

The dryer has been problem free and works well. The washing machine has had a reoccurring issue with the cheaply made wiring harness. The wires have broke in the middle of the strand. Had the broken wire repaired and it lasted 2 weeks before breaking again. Put a new upgraded harness on. It lasted about 6 months before the pump connector wire broke off. Replaced the connector with spade connectors. That repair is holding up but now have another harness issue. When it stops it leaves the tub full of clothes and water. Tired of taking days off work to fix it. The harness needs remade with a higher quality wire so it can withstand the movement of the drum when operating. 3rd harness is going in. I don’t see it as a long term solution and will add to my frustration.

I have had a dryer that's never been used. Been getting the runaround. Always something else but never the faulty appliance I was given will not start.
