Sprint, Nextel Make It Official

At one time Sprint was the #3 long-distance company, noted for above-average technology but incredibly disorganized billing. It's now somewhat harder to characterize. With the entrance of local carriers into the long-distance business, Sprint's long-distance ranking has fallen. But at the same time, it has hung onto a firm spot somewhere in the middle of the cell phone rankings, where it's noted for quirky technology and, you guessed it, incredibly disorganized billing.

Some unlucky souls also have Sprint as their local phone company. Just imagine.
