About VIP Traveler

We remove the barriers that keep you from traveling as much as you’d like: the research, the reviews, the time spent worrying about where to stay, how much to pay, the endless choices – it’s overwhelming. We’re like that friend, the one with the tips and connections, the one who has been everywhere, knows the best places, gives you advice like you’re family, and has the inside track.

Pros
  • Personalized trips
  • Algorithm-based recommendations
  • VIP upgrades
  • Exclusive rates
Cons
  • Requires membership for full service

What is VIP Traveler?

VIP Traveler is an alternative to a traditional travel agent that uses an algorithm to create personalized travel recommendations. Users put in their preferences, then the algorithm provides a list of potential vacation experiences. Clients can also work with its Travel Stylists to further tailor their trips and get access to VIP upgrades. The subscription model makes it a good choice for those who travel often and prefer a higher level of service.

How does VIP Traveler work?

VIP Traveler is similar to working with a traditional travel agent. The main difference is in its algorithm technology, which helps to customize travel recommendations. Its technology takes into account your bucket list and other preferences to help narrow down options at the forefront.

The company then offers multiple trips based on your suggested travel wishes. You’ll need to become a VIP member for a representative to help personalize the trip.

VIP Traveler offers a free membership with the option to upgrade to a paid version for $999 a year.

VIP Traveler costs

VIP Traveler uses a yearly subscription model. To get a year’s worth of access to VIP+ Traveler, customers have to pay the $999 membership fee. This price includes access to a Travel Stylist with 24/7 support, proactive trip recommendations, additional savings on all trips and local expertise for on-ground advice.

VIP Traveler also offers a free VIP membership. This membership includes personalized travel finds, Bucket List Builder, VIP benefits at hotels and weekly travel news.

All memberships include free cancellation after 14 days of your purchase — if you’re unhappy and cancel before the 14-day period is up, the company will refund you in full.

VIP Traveler FAQ

What is VIP Traveler’s cancellation policy?

If customers aren’t happy with their subscription, they can cancel within 90 days for a full refund. It’s unclear what the cancellation policy is for trips.

How many trips does VIP Traveler require per year?

None. This is up to you.

Where can I visit with VIP Traveler?

While the company doesn’t list all its travel destinations, it does offer a glimpse at destinations it’s booked in the past, like Nashville and Jackson Hole in the U.S., plus international locations like Bora Bora, Tokyo, Iceland and the Galápagos Islands.

Who can use my VIP Traveler membership?

Only immediate family, if they live with you, can use your membership.

Is VIP Traveler legit?

VIP Traveler is a good option for those who travel often and like to maximize their experience. The downside for infrequent travelers is that you have to pay $495 for an annual membership, regardless of whether or not you travel during that time — meaning the price might not be worth it if you don’t travel often or don’t want VIP upgrades. For those who want to travel luxuriously but would like to save money on all the bells and whistles, though, this company might be a good fit.

As of today, 08/22/2024, my cancellation of contract from November of 2023 has not been honored, or addressed in any professional manner. Ohio offers a three day remorse, thereby allowing a consumer to cancel if desired. After looking into the agency and their business, I discovered not only false information given at presentation, but also discovered several negative reviews. The reviews I could overlook, but the misleading information they gave during the presentation, I couldn’t get past. Currently VIP ignores calls, never returns calls, although they stated to Ohio AG, and the BBB that my refund has been approved, I’m still waiting. Currently working with attorney, and consumer protection agency. State governor next. By the way, Holiday Inn, and other establishments are complicit in the wrongfulness by renting them space. My opinion.

    Hi Tim,

We’re sorry to read this - no one should have to deal with that level of service.

However, we want to clarify that we are VIP Traveler, not VIP Travelers. The names are very similar, but we couldn’t be more different. We have excellent reviews on Consumer Affairs, Trustpilot, and TripAdvisor and pride ourselves on being highly responsive.

We know reviews matter and want readers to understand your experience was with a different company.

    Wishing you wonderful travels,

    VIP Traveler

My wife and I booked a Dominican Republic Punta Cana trip for the end of April this year through VIP Traveler. Their site is super intuitive and very easy to use. We did everything online. However, we did want to confirm with somebody at VIP just to make sure everything was official, and we weren't missing anything just because it was our first time using VIP Traveler. Sometimes the discount seems way too good to be true, so we did make sure to reach out and speak to somebody there. We also confirmed with the actual resorts that our reservations were legitimate and they were. In order to confirm those reservations, we did reach out and they were very helpful. We booked the VIP exclusive. When reaching out to VIP Traveler, we were speaking to an actual human being and we weren't passed over to an automated machine, and I thought that was really cool. And every time I reached out, it was always the same person.

We booked three packages and each package consists of two people. The first friend reached out to VIP and asked if we could swap the itinerary so that we could stay at one hotel first and then the other one has the second one. They said that's fine and we were also told that we could have our rooms close to one another. For the second and third packages, we tried reaching out to them and gave them our confirmation number. We asked if they could confirm that our bungalows are gonna be close proximity to one another and we have not heard back. My girlfriend continued to email them because we can't get them on the phone and we still haven't heard from them. The communication is very limited and it's like pulling teeth trying to get answers.

Could you have been trying to call the wrong number? Ours is +1 (888)-707-1159 and we do answer 24/7 (or call back within an hour during peak times). In any event, I’m glad we got in touch following your email, and everything has now been swapped around to suit your preferences and you’ll indeed be close to your friends. Everything with VIP Traveler was okay. It's just they told me that I don't have to pay anything, but I had to pay 65 bucks. It was $12 a day and it was for five days. I didn't even take anything with me but thankfully, I had my credit card on me and I was able to use that. Otherwise, it would have been a bad situation there. I was trying to reach out to VIP. I was sending email, but I didn't got any reply. I wish they could look into it and get me some of my money back. I went to the Maldives. When I was booking it with VIP Traveler, they told me everything is paid there, and I don't have to pay anything. Even on the contract, it was written that I don't have to pay anything. I could understand extra charges for the special meal or drink, but just to stay there, there was something that I wasn't told about that.

Other than that, the booking availability was good. I had discussed with my partner and we were okay with the facilities they were offering. The website was easy to use. I got my confirmation right away. I had a chat with them before going there about everything, if everything was lined up and ready to go. They asked me about my time, my flight details, and I gave them the flight details and they reached out. So then, I reached out to them to ask them if they got what they needed and everything else was good to go.

It sounds like that was Maldives' $6 per person Government 'Green Tax' which is generally paid for daily by any guest staying on the Island. However we do cover this on behalf of our guests, so perhaps there was a misunderstanding on their end on this occasion? We're happy to reimburse you for that fee, and we will reach out to arrange this.

We booked a package for Bali and it's a six-night stay at two Four Seasons properties. Booking was fairly straightforward and it was very easy to navigate online, although there were a couple of back and forth over email to figure out the dates. I had originally selected one set of dates and a little bit after, they contacted me to say that those dates weren't available.

I like the website of VIP Traveler. It's very nice and easy. I booked a package for Punta Cana, Dominican over the website and it was very fair priced. I also got some spa credits and it was a newer resort. My booking experience was positive.

This is our first time using VIP Traveler and we didn't have any issues. Selecting the package was easy and once I picked the package, I had an agent help me with the date. The price was very good for what we get.

I did Bali last year and Mexico in January with VIP Traveler and everything was pretty easy. My only critique is that they don't take American Express anymore, which I was kind of shocked when I did January's trip. But other than that, everything was pretty smooth and everything was laid out. I like the accommodation choices and there was a lot included in the destinations for what I paid for. It was a good deal and everybody's on one accord. The communication between the travel agency and the hotel is streamlined, like they already know what to expect with your booking. It doesn't seem like anybody is lost on what your perks are with your trip or with your accommodation. Overall, my trips were great. In Bali, there was a mishap with the driver. For some reason, the driver was not there to pick me up from the airport even though they claim they were. We were waiting at the airport for quite some time and they refunded me the money for the airport transfer because it never occurred. That was helpful.

Thanks Aria! We remember that particular arrival challenge in Bali. The driver was there, but with 100s of other drivers all holding up signs, it seems you guys missed each other. Fortunately, there were a lot of other easy options to get the hotel, and glad you were refunded. We’ve made our signs even more noticeable so that issue hasn’t come up again.
