We missed our first flight and they cancelled our returned flight instantaneously. Sat at the airport for 4 hours talking to representatives and supervisors and my only solution was to pay an additional $1900 yes 1900 for a round trip flight when my whole vacation package only cost me $1300. They have hidden fees coming out of nowhere. Had me call my airline but due to me purchasing from Priceline, they couldn't help me. So I missed my departure flight and they also cancelled my homecoming flight. They were rude and not helpful. I ended up buying my flight tickets directly online and lost my money I spend with Priceline. I also had to call the hotel and car reservation to confirm Priceline didn't cancel them. You're welcome Priceline for our 650 dollar donation to your company.

Stole $150 from me and just say oh well. Booked a room out of state 14 days ahead of time through Priceline. Paid for the room on my bank visa. I received a confirmation soon after, opened it in my email and all seemed good. When I got a couple hours away from my destination at 1:00 am, I opened my mail to put the address in the GPS. The confirmation had turned into a sales ad for rental cars. I didn't know my hotel name or my confirmation # so I logged into Priceline and tried to find out the confirmation #. After plugging in all of my info, name, email, credit card, dates, etc., I get an email saying there is no confirmation found. So I tried calling, after flip flopping through the automated system for 20+ minutes, I just grabbed the first room I seen.
4 days later I get a charge on my credit card for a room I never used. I spent 2 hours on the phone getting bounced around a was told it's not their problem. Sent in copies of the room I stayed in, copies of the time sensitive email they sent, copies of my bank statement, and a copy of the email they sent saying nothing could be found under my name, email, or credit card. Now they are telling me that it's between me and the hotel. You already know what the hotel is telling me.

I booked a trip with Priceline for the 22nd of May to 24th of May for a total fee of $880. Due to upcoming military engagement I considered canceling the trip to use it for a different trip. I called Priceline to see if I can use the trip for a different trip in June but the representative told me that the trip is non-refundable, non-cancellable and non-changeable. But if I could call the airline I might be able to do so. I called the airline and they said I could cancel the flight and use it within one year for another trip but I will pay a $400 fee to do change it; but I have to call Priceline whenever I want to do that. I called Priceline to use the flight for a different trip and the rep I spoke with told me that the trip was not cancelled and can not be cancelled even though the airline told me it has been cancelled and I could use it for another trip.
I decided to keep the trip and went ahead to book another hotel for 25th of May on my return day. After 2 days I got an email from Priceline that my trip is cancelled and will be a no show since I cancelled the flight through the airline and would loss all my money. I called Priceline and explained how I was advised by their rep to call the airline to see if they could cancel and also how the other rep told me my flight is still valid and I went ahead to book another hotel. All they could tell me is that my money is gone since I was the one that called the airline to cancel and the ticket is non-cancelable. I ask about my hotel fee and they told me is gone too because it is non-refundable. If you don't want to be duped stay away from Priceline. This is my second scam by this company. I don't have time to write about their other scam on me. Stay away from this company if you can.

We had a horrible experience with a recent reservation, using my father's name and credit card. We reserved 2 nights/2 rooms. The hotel, Townplace Suites in Laredo, TX, treated us terrible when they noticed we booked thru Priceline. Priceline refused to help us nor did they seek to satisfy us as a loyal customer.

I recently had to cancel a trip that I had booked through Priceline (air and car) due to flooding at my home from a hot water heater that had exploded. I had purchased the additional trip cancellation insurance, so I thought it would not be a problem. Not only was Priceline not helpful in any of the cancellation process, after filing the paperwork and sending documentation from my insurance, the claim was denied by AON trip protection. During this very stressful process of canceling and changing trip reservations, I was continually redirected to numerous "customer service" people who offered no help but to give me another number to call.
When I found out the claim had been denied (still unclear why), I contacted Priceline in hopes for a future credit in travel funds and was told under the "terms and conditions" of my reservation, they were not required to offer any voucher. I am a frequent traveler and loyal customer. They may not be "required" to offer me anything, but isn't customer service or satisfaction worth anything to a company?? Southwest Airlines never has a change fee and you can always reuse your funds if you have to cancel. I will never book through Priceline again, and I would advise anyone doing so to be very clear on all fine print, terms and conditions!!

If you are traveling for the US Government, do not use Priceline. They do not break down hotel costs for expense reports and they seem to add a fee. I phoned them to get the breakdown. Their customer service seems to be foreign-based. They read from scripts and--as usual--do not stop for questions, but talk over you until they finish their script. This is quite annoying, not to mention--useless. Again, do NOT BOOK THROUGH PRICELINE if you need an expense breakdown.

I use Priceline on a regular basis to book flights, hotels, and rental cars. I have used name your own price a few times and had decent luck with it. However just recently I used it to book a hotel for a 3 star hotel. It said the average price was 130. I put in a starting price of 60. It accepted my bid and showed me my hotel. The hotel I had just paid for was available for 47.00 through regular booking. So they ended up charging me even more. They state it is supposed to save you more but it ended up costing me even more money. I talked to a few other people I knew who had used it and they said the same thing happened to them. Priceline needs to fix this. They say they will save you money but instead their system doesn't check for lower fares, they just charge you more.

They put the little clause at the end, so that customer can't change the date or the rate. I started with not so great deal and I can't even change the date of staying, rate, or canceling. I have called the Priceline and the hotel back and forth and hotel referred to Priceline and Priceline won't do anything, just because the little clause I did not read when booking...
If they want the deal of what they want (not what I want or change the date), the price should be discounted deeply, but the price of the flight and hotel is not even the discounted price. People understand to buy this deal if there was deep discount, and give up the right to change the date or plan... But THIS PRICELINE VACATION PACKAGE JUST take away you right to change or cancel any WITHOUT giving you any discount... Once again, NO NO NO NO DISCOUNT FOR GIVING UP YOUR RIGHT. Unless you are sure for 1000% that is what you want (even if that is what you want, the price is not a discounted price). NEVER, NEVER BUY PRICELINE VACATION DEAL.

Priceline is unforgiving if you mistakenly push the wrong button that completes your contract and sends the itinerary "to print" (within seconds)..... There is no going back! I called to retract the information within 5 minutes to rectify my mistake and was told by customer service was a contractual agreement (I stated I was willing to pay an additional amount to Priceline to accommodate the one way drop off I requested)... After an hour back and forth with Priceline customer service and a short time with the rental car company... who stated, Priceline ONLY had authority to correct the reservation... I am still being held accountable for an honest mistake. Their customer service is lacking in compassion... The responses are read or typed from a scripted menu. I will never book with them again.

Priceline allows you to go thru the entire process of booking a trip, up to and including authorizing payment after submitting your credit card info only to find out that the actual vacation package is NOT available. IN speaking with one customer service rep, I was informed that the hotel was booked... another rep told me the flight was booked. While waiting for a third representative to contact my bank (at 11:00 PM) to remove any/all authorizations, I checked both the airline (for the specific flight/seats) and the hotel and discovered that neither was booked. Customer service was less than helpful... the site is a waste of time!

First, I would like to make it known that for hotels and rental cars I have never had a problem with Priceline. I was always happy with the service and felt I received a good deal. However, with airline travel, if you are using a debit card, stay away! I am accustomed to having a hold placed on my debit card for larger purchases, but in all of the instances the hold was removed once the actual payment was requested, thus not looking as if I had been charged twice for the same service. So needless to say, I was extremely shocked to review my bank account online today and to find that not only was the hold still showing (from 4/27/15; today is 5/1/15) but also the actual charges came out today as well.
So I contact Priceline, the representative states that Priceline only charged the card one time. They tell me to call the bank or the airline. I contact the bank, they tell me the hold is set to drop off on 5/3/15 but if Priceline or the airline will fax a letter stating they can drop it off today, they would do so. I call the airline. They explain that they don't get paid from Priceline until I actually fly, so there is nothing they can do with this. I call Priceline again because the common theme here seems to be that Priceline is the culprit. For 45 minutes I go back and forth with a representative who asks me the same questions multiple times.
First he proceeds to tell me that if I have him drop the hold off early, the airline will reject my reservation. What??? That's not possible because you have already been paid and all I'm asking is for the first hold to be removed, not the actual payment. Then he proceeds to tell me that it's going to drop off on Sunday, so I should just leave it. After the representative asks the same questions over and over again and repeats the same BS over and over again, I ask for a supervisor in which I was placed on hold and I finally gave up as it's a Friday afternoon and the bank is now closed as of this time. I gave a 1 star because I feel the experience is unacceptable, nothing was resolved, both representatives were inadequate as far as I'm concerned (I mean, how many times do I need to give the same info?), and this is an unreasonable Priceline policy (if it's even a policy).
So bottom line is that if you are going to use a debit card, be aware of this. I was not aware or apparently didn't read the fine print enough. Update: after 3 hours of dealing with this, I tried Priceline chat services so everything was spelled out in black and white. The representative explains to me that I need to talk to Airline Services, sends me a link and I quote states "They can contact the bank and attempt to get the hold removed." So why couldn't the original or even the 2nd representative tell me this? Very frustrated at this point.

I booked a reservation through Priceline.com three months in advance from my trip. A week after making the reservation, my arrival date changed to arriving one day early. I thought this would not be a problem because it was only a one day difference. ** answered the phone when I called Priceline.com and he could hardly speak English. I explained the situation and he said it would not be a problem to change my reservation for one day. After I thanked him, he changed his mind and said he can't change my reservation. I was confused because he just offered to change it for me.
He then transferred me to customer relations where another gentleman answered who also could not speak English. He said "Yes ** told you we could change your arrival date but unfortunately we can't really change it." I then asked if he could honor what ** offered me and he said no. I then asked to speak to a manager or supervisor. He said they don't have managers and if I wanted to complain I needed to write a letter and send it to an office in Connecticut. I have worked as a front desk manager for years in a hotel and I will NEVER support Priceline.com again. Save yourself the trouble and go to a different company.

So I rented a car from them and plans had changed. In the reservation I had listed the passenger who was flying with me under as the driver because he has a credit card. Well he was not able to make it and I called to see if we could put me as a driver. They stated that they cannot make any changes so basically they stole my money and I'm out of a rental car for the weekend. I have tried to talk to several people there. And all they can say is that they are sorry and one representative agreed when I stated that they are ripping me off. I still do not understand on how they can get away with this sort of thing.

We booked a hotel room through the AAA website on February 28th for one night. AAA uses Priceline as a host or vice versa. When I got to the hotel I was told that I had reserved two hotel rooms which was an error. I tried to cancel that extra room with the Fairfield Marriott but was told that since I booked with a third party I would have to call AAA. At that time of night the only people available in AAA were Roadside Assistance. So I called my credit card company and issued a dispute for the extra charge. On March 28th my credit card reversed their temporary credit pending investigation. I was told by them that Priceline had issued me a credit, which was a lie. Nowhere in my credit card statement is there a credit. My credit card then reversed the temporary credit and I had to pay for it. I have since been going between Priceline and AAA getting handed over to so many people and departments that I have lost track.
My agenda is full of "Call AAA and Priceline" every three days because every time I call they tell me that their charge back department is going to call me back in three days. I never get a call back. Now they are telling me that they can't do anything until May 10th when the dispute from my credit card is "set to resolve". I have a document from my credit card saying that they could not resolve and are reversing my temporary credit so I don't know what they are talking about. I have wasted too much time and gotten way too stressed trying to get both information and my money and I don't feel like I deserve to be pushed back further.
From what I have experienced from Priceline all bets are on it that May 10th will be the day they tell me they cannot do anything for me. They don't even have the correct information from my credit card. Feeling like I've been abused by both companies. I will not book again through any of them. AAA needs to drop Priceline, it is dead weight.

On 4-15-2015 I used Priceline.com's Name-Your-Price tool to book a hotel reservation in Little Rock, AR for May 22-25, 2015 in West Little Rock for our child's event. We do not have much money. I am disabled and my wife works full-time as a caseworker, but between our monthly bills and health insurance, copays, etc... well, we strive very hard to make ends meet, but we budgeted. And we saved our money ($280.09) for this special occasion for our child's event in Little Rock. Priceline.com was chosen because I believed they were an honest company and from their commercials. I was only looking at options that were listed as "(Little Rock West)" in their description and that was selected as my location in the search criteria. When my offer was accepted, I was notified of my hotel and the hotel is listed in the area, "(Midtown)" in the location description. This is not what I requested.
Priceline.com's Name-Your-Price tool states that there is no refund and no cancellation. However, I immediately called Priceline, the same day I received the hotel reservation, to explain how the company gave me a hotel in the wrong area that I requested. They did not care. I further explained to Priceline.com that I needed to cancel the hotel reservation in "(Midtown)" if I could not have a hotel in the area I requested on the Name-Your-Price tool and to refund us.
I needed the hotel in an area marked "(Little Rock West)" and instead, the company chose to give us the wrong area, "(Midtown)." I was told by two different Priceline.com representatives, on 04/15/15, that there was nothing they would do to help me as the policy states no refunds or cancellations, even though it was their company's error. I thoroughly explained the hotel that Priceline.com gave me was NOT in my desired, requested location but was met with deaf ears.
I have since seen multiple complaints of this same ill-practice happening to other individuals who used the Priceline.com's Name-Your-Price tool. I feel this was company is committing fraud; a bait and switch operation. I have also contacted my local bank to submit complaint, the my State Attorney General and Better Business Bureau. I have not heard back yet but I'm hopeful I will get a refund. I do not want the hotel reservation in "(Midtown)" as this was not the area I requested, and would like a refund and cancellation. Thank you for your time.

I booked on Priceline Canada, and apparently I missed their statement that the quote was in USD, yet nowhere on the printout of their "Your Flight Details" does it state in which currency the charges would be charged to my credit card. After getting my credit card company on the line with Priceline the first time, they provided the information for the hold to get released. Then after being on the phone for an hour and half, I get put on hold and I release the call from Priceline. I didn't realize this at first since I had no intention of actually renting right then without looking around first - all I was looking at was the prices. Some websites for other products have required you go halfway through the process of actually buying to get a grand total and I thought this was like that. Somehow I ended up renting this car and then upgrading it while trying to see the price of a bigger car. What I did not know was this cannot be undone after and you cannot cancel your purchase. Then when you call them, they don't have anyone who can truly help you, you actually have to WRITE them.... Booked a vacation package through Priceline whereby the trip had to be modified due to one of the party of 2 needing to change due to changing social obligations. Priceline gave me their usual customer service spill about being sorry but the vacation package was non-changeable, non-refundable, and non-transferable. Trip insurance was also purchased for the trip but is really useless as well. The insurance is only good if one in the travelling party gets sick and is hospitalized or dies! To make a long story short, Priceline just got an easy $1,500 without us getting any service!!! Wow! No wonder they can have a spokesperson actor like William Shatner represent them! In other words, beware of doing business with Priceline!

4/16/15 - While researching rental car prices I entered a bid of $46 dollars per day at Priceline.com, then provided the required credit card information and initialed the box confirming that I was aware of the terms and conditions which is required BEFORE they accept or deny the bid. I then clicked the button that reads: Buy my reservation. My bid was denied as too low and it was suggested that I go back and change my bid. I then clicked the "previous" button to go back to the bid page and changed my bid to $51 for a total of $359.50 with all the associated taxes, then clicked "buy my reservation" again. At that point I was charged $444.50 for a reservation of $64 dollars daily plus tax that I did not agree to at any time.
The problem arose because when my first bid of $46 was denied, the website flashed a banner stating that Priceline would offer an instant, one-time deal of $64 per day if I chose to accept it. I did not accept that offer. I went back to the bid page and changed my bid and the website showed me the total of $359.50 which is what I agreed to but somehow the flashing banner deal is what I was charged for.
I immediately called Priceline and spoke to a representative and then a supervisor to cancel or modify the reservation but they were obstinately rigid and refused to work with me at all stating that I accepted the terms and conditions when I initialed the terms and conditions box which states that successful bids are nonrefundable and unchangeable. I am aware of that and I did accept those terms for the total amount of $359.50, but I did not at any time accept the flashing banner offer, yet that is what I was charged for. I then contacted my credit card company, Capital One, whose representative came on the line with me speaking to a higher Priceline official and still was completely unsuccessful in resolving the issue and I am out $444.50 and stuck with a car rental I did not at any time agree to..

I placed a bid for a hotel on Priceline.com for a hotel in Las Vegas. When placing bid, you select the location you would like by checking a box next to the description. I checked the boxes: Las Vegas Strip North and Las Vegas Strip South and entered my bid amount. What I ended up getting was a hotel off the strip that doesn't even have a casino! I believe when you check a box that you would like a hotel on the strip it should be on the strip! When I called Priceline customer service, they said “Well, if you increase the size of the map, you can see that this hotel is included in area.” I looked and sure enough there is a spike on one side of the shading that indicates where the hotels are located.
I understand that using Priceline there is a risk that you will not be happy with the hotel you receive. I also understand that I should have looked at the map, but honestly I probably would have still bid because I am not familiar with area and would have trusted that checking the "on the strip" box would ensure that my hotel would be on the strip. I feel like they deceived me, I am very unhappy that they were unwilling to even acknowledge that this is misleading. So, they say they can't do anything for me, the hotel says they can't do anything and I am stuck paying a lot more for a hotel that is off the strip and doesn't have a casino that I ever would have!

Don't ever use priceline.com on your mobile phone while you're on a road trip looking for a place near you. It will not be for the current date but the price for a date somewhere in the future. I basically was on a road trip looking for a place to sleep. I was pretty tired and booked a night assuming it would pick today's date by default. But it didn't. I noticed at the counter of the hotel when I tried to check in. So I called priceline and asked them for the simple favor of changing the date to today. They said they couldn't do it, the manager at the hotel would have to do it. So they called him while I was on the phone but the guy at the front desk was no help either and didn't want to change the date today but charge me for another night (today) instead.
Needless to say I was very tired and in no mood to argue so AFTER 3 HOURS ON THE PHONE trying to fix a simple date on the phone and at the hotel NOTHING WAS RESOLVED. I was pretty angry since it was now close to midnight so I continued my road trip and ended up driving to a rest area SLEEPING IN MY CAR. They still charged my credit card for a date at a place I would never be at again. Priceline fails at simple and honest customer service. They couldn't fix a simple date and the Hotel wanted to rip me off for another night blaming Priceline. They have never heard of the expression "the customer is always right". I hope they go out of business fast. I sure won't ever book with them again. IF YOU WANNA KEEP YOUR MONEY BE WARNED AND NEVER BOOK WITH PRICELINE. Name your price tool on Priceline is excellent idea in theory, however, when you get a hotel outside the area that you chose then they are not upholding their agreement. The hotel they assigned me was one I specifically wanted to avoid so I chose an area that does not have it included as a possible hotel you can get, yet I still got it.
When I called to tell them they told me that it is within the shaded area and that no refunds could be made. I told them that I had purchased the "insurance" in the past, on a hotel I had booked with them. At that time there was a death in the family and I could not make the trip. This insurance that they "guarantee" your money back for situations like mine claims to refund your money. When I told Priceline that I had purchased the insurance and I am looking for a refund they had me go through a third party insurance company, and informed me that the insurance company has nothing to do with Priceline. That insurance company did not get back to me or even recognize my claim for 7 weeks! This name your price through Priceline is a scam, BEWARE!

Myself and my partner have used Priceline in the past few years several times a year. We were always pleased with the accommodations and the accuracy of the reservations. On April 7th we made reservations for the one night during our travels back from Florida. Unfortunately the results were not pleasing at all. You advertised hotels in the area i.e., Marriott, Hilton, etc. in the 3 plus category. I realize that you didn't promise one of those chains, but I would expect them to be in that category.
We received a confirmation for the Comfort Inn in Statesville, N.C. The room was unsatisfactory. The mattress was soft and lumpy, the 2 towels which were there for our use were stiff and small in size, there was an old bedspread on the bed, and the toilet tissue was like cardboard. I don't think this is the quality of a 3-star plus accommodations expectancy. This situation will definitely deter me from booking through Priceline again. I look forward to hearing your comments on this.

When I called to ask what had happened, they explained that their secondary company had messed up. I never got an apology or anything from Priceline. Instead I got transferred to their secondary company for them to tell me that they had sent me an email about their mistake. They sent me the email 8 minutes before I called.
They RUINED my trip. Not only was I out the $300, but I purchased show tickets at $150 a piece. And the hotel that they offered to put us up at was a DUMP. All I got for my inconvenience was a refund which I would receive in 10-14 business days and a $100.33 for putting us out. I asked to talk to a manager and I got told NO!!! This was not what I bid on nor did Priceline even give me an option to make that choice until they accepted that offer. I am Traveling with 5 people when asked to accommodate wanted more $ would not cancel so we can book a correct hotel within my budget. I also explained putting 5 ppl in one room with ONE bed dbl could be a fire code. I have used Priceline for 11 years booking flights and hotels. Every hotel if you call a standard room is 2 double beds. They would not do anything for us. I explained this is a hazard for the hotel and when I thought they said standard room like we have booked before then that meant 2 dbl beds. This is also a fire hazard.
So now I am shoving 5 people in a room with one bed. I explained that if I could pay the extra I would have just went with a hotel closer and paid full price because now that's where I was at full price. I am deeply dissatisfied and they would not offer me anything but a sorry this is our policy. My husband and I know now and have learned our lesson. Do not do business with Priceline anymore! To be honest, they don't even deserve a 1 star. That's giving them more than the their customer service deserves. Being in the military, I get moved around a lot, and it so happens I flew from Virginia to California and made large transactions, resulting in my card getting shut off for possible fraud. No big deal, it's common. But around this time is when I made a flight from Northern Cali to SoCal for my pregnant wife to go see family and for work. I made the flight - no problem through the Priceline website and everything went great, made the purchase of the ticket and that they would send me an email, life went on. Or so I thought. This is where trouble comes in. A week from my wife's flight, she reminds me to check the time for her flight. I oblige, only to find that there is no email. I never received any type of email. Nothing, I checked my three email accounts, spam, trash, everything. Didn't receive anything.
So naturally I call up Priceline customer service to find out what happened. I was received by rude, inconsiderate customer service reps. Went from one person to her manager which she reminded me before that he was going to say the same thing she was telling me. Whatever, at this point I'm furious. This guy who name I didn't catch because he was foreign (or at least his thick accent hinted at it) was pretty much a brick wall. He kept repeating the same thing and wasn't the least helpful at all, saying my card was declined and that there was nothing they could do. My problem was that they never sent me an email, or even a message on the website notifying me that my card was declined.
Now this guy wasn't even being helpful in any way. Frustrating, to say the least. He told me at the end, "I'll put in my request to higher power, but is there anything else I could help you with?" This guy wasn't even trying to work with me, or to fix my problem. Worst manager I've talked to in my life.

I purchased a vacation package for my husband to visit his son in Spokane. One ticket, round trip and a hotel room. So the day I try to confirm Delta tells me he is on standby and does not have a seat. I email Priceline and they tell me it is of no concern to them, I need to deal with Delta – sorry! My husband makes it to Spokane and finds his hotel is nothing like the Priceline description, he did not want to look for another hotel and it was clean so he opted to stay. Here is the clincher - I receive a message from Priceline during his return stating he changed his reservation and they were no longer involved and he needed to deal directly with Delta (which they had already made clear). I was worried sick about what had happened. It ended up the plane was delayed!
I book with other online sites all of the time and never had an experience like this. My husband could have flown standby for half of what we paid on Priceline and found a hotel for the same amount of money or less with better quality. I am very disappointed! Oh, thank you Delta for being a stand up company and finding my husband a seat.

It is a standard for travel agent to find plane seats that would be located close together to accommodate a family booking a vacation. Especially if you indicate that you are traveling with a four-year-old child. We got three seats spaced throughout the plane. We had to contact the airline to change our seating arrangements. Priceline customer representative said that their website finds the cheapest seats on the flight. Well not after you have to pay extra $20 for every seat on a domestic flight. They said I had to go through the airline and pay extra to the airline to change my dispersed seats for the preferred seats located close together.
I couldn't understand why Delta would charge me extra to change ordinary seats, the seats they call preferred seats, even though there was nothing special about them. Luckily Delta was a lot more accommodating and they have assigned two seats together and one on the next row for no charge. Priceline service rep. didn't even consider calling Delta on my behalf, when I asked him to do so. Instead he was urging me to pay for something any normal travel agent would request at the time of the booking.

Priceline is a joke, and I will not be doing business with them ever again. First, the NYOP option saved me all of $15. I know, right? What huge savings. Second, when an issue at work arose that interfered with my flight plans, they would make no exceptions at all. I read and understood the terms that the flight is not changeable. However, I got a $15 discount, c'mon now. I would understand their unwillingness if I had gotten $100 off, or even $50; but $15 freaking dollars off and they can't make an exception. I even offered to pay the difference, or some sort of fee, and they still refused. Considering I gave up a lot of authority of when I fly and how many connections, etc etc, for ONLY $15. (I just can't get over that...) I think Priceline or the airline (American Airlines) should throw me a freaking bone.

Everything was changed and in order or so I thought. When I arrived at the airport I was told that we did not have tickets to or from our destination and that Priceline did not put in the order for our tickets.
After spending over an hour with the employee at the airport and calling Priceline, who were totally unhelpful in solving the problem. It was the West Jet employee who spent over an hour making sure we would have a flight to and from our destination. The Priceline employee really could have cared less if we made the flight we paid for in July 2014. Finally, we arrived at the gate only 20 minutes before our flight. Good thing we arrived at the airport 3 hours early. I will never use Priceline again nor will I ever recommend using Priceline's services.

I recently used the "name your price" tool on Priceline flights. When I began my search I entered the dates of 5/1-3/2015. No flights matched my bid so a box popped up with suggestions of how to modify my flight. Above the options for modifications it gave you an option to change your date so I changed my dates to 4/30/15 and 5/4/2015 so that I would be at my destination during the time frame I needed in case my bid landed me a redeye flight. I was given a redeye flight for my initial dates, exactly what I was avoiding. After speaking to Priceline management the only solution I am being offered is to pay $200 to cancel my flight. Apparently when you change your dates they do not honor it unless you start the entire search over.

Be very careful reading the disclaimers on this site. I have a family of 5 and needed a hotel for 2 nights. I used the "express deal". The disclaimer states that rates are booked based on double occupancy. It also states that your CC will not be charged until you speak with the hotel and any add-on needs are met. Where this is unclear is the CC is charged as soon as the hotel agrees to the price not any additional requests or needs. I called the hotel and they were only able to provide a rollaway bed and 2 queens. Not the end of the world, but not what we wanted to book and now we are stuck! I booked a hotel in Chicago to visit my husband on his birthday (he's been there for several weeks for work). I wanted to bring our small dog because we have no kids and she is our family. I spent almost an hour in their website picking a hotel. I wanted a decent hotel (~3 star) with a free breakfast that was pet friendly. I went through their express deals because we don't have a lot of money and I was traveling in a budget. Every hotel I looked at, I made sure to check their pet policy. The one I decided on was a 2.5 star but with an 8.0 for customer rating and their pet policy said "All Pets", unlike the other policies that stated "pet fee" or "$50 per pet" etc. I expected a company that advertises hotels to disclose this information and it looked like they had. The room was only $50/night which fit my budget, so I booked it.
It wasn't until after I could see which hotel it was (Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Naperville) and later checked their direct website that I saw they charge $100 per pet. Had I known that it would be twice as much with a pet at this hotel I would have chosen a different hotel. I called customer service and calmly explained my situation stating I understood their no cancellation policy but I felt that information was not disclosed properly. I simply wanted to switch to a different hotel with a cheaper pet fee. After over half an hour and two different people, I got nowhere. They kept saying that my "contract states there may be additional fees" and they cannot cancel or change my reservation.
At this point I was crying in the phone pleading for them to let me speak to a manager or someone that could override this... I just wanted to bring my dog to see my husband in his 30th birthday... but nothing.. Yes, they were polite on the phone but absolutely useless. There had to have been someone that could do something but they refused to help me. I will never book with Priceline again.

When I called to discuss the issue, the customer service rep read a response that was clearly generic and didn't answer my questions, when I asked to speak to a manager I was told that he is not allowed to transfer someone to a manager, and that if I had a complaint I had to mail it into their headquarters - which is absolutely absurd. I booked a one night away stay on the priceline.com website for my husband and two children. When we booked our room we were given 3 options on the site. A single queen bed suite, a double queen bed suite or a double queen bedroom. The double queen bed and the single queen suite were the same price. We spent more to get the larger room. We booked the double queen suite because the correlating picture had a couch. When we walked into our room there were two queen beds with a partition separating them. The only additional seating was 2 kitchen chairs and 2 stools. The room was not even big enough to accommodate any additional seating and the suitcase rack barely fit. We asked the front desk and they said that they do not have a double queen suite that correlated with the description that we were given. They said that no such room like that exists on their website.
I then began the fun process of getting involved with Priceline.com Customer Service (or should I say customer doggers). They were rude to me and unhelpful. During my second call I was put on hold for about 11 mins!! I hung up and called back and spoke with a manager who just kept saying that I got the room that I had reserved and that I would have to talk to the hotel. The issue is with Priceline's website not the hotel!!! Then, just FIVE DAYS BEFORE THE DEPARTURE, the airline company contacted us and told that my husband's ticket was invalid BECAUSE OF THE BOOKING MISTAKE MADE BY PRICELINE'S SUB-CONTRACTOR. The airline rep informed he had no seat unless he was willing to fly to other country first. Everything was scheduled in our country with our family, especially my husband's side, and we could not delay the arrival. We ended up paying $1,200 extra for each person. Priceline did not refund and kept us bouncing between them and the airline company, until finally we hired an attorney and had him write a demand letter. It was 4 months later. We asked them to pay the difference between the original price and the price we were forced to pay (there were only super expensive seats left when we had to book three days before the departure date), but till now they keep ignoring that. We were guests at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Tallahassee Conference Center North February 13-15, 2015. Our stay was disappointing from the very beginning. Firstly, I observed guests who checked in before us being offered complimentary bottled water. However, I was not offered any. In fact, I had to ask for it. In response, I was given one bottle, and had to request another one for my mother. I believe that this occurred because the guest offered the water were white. However, we are black.
Subsequently, at about 2:02 a.m. on February 14, 2015, I requested service because the toilet would not flush. A man came and attempted to correct the problem. Unfortunately, he did not have a plunger and tried to do it with some other tool. That did not work, since afterwards the toilet would not even flush a single sheet of toilet paper. So, a plunger was reportedly purchased and the repairman came back to work on it. The problem was not corrected then, but instead not until around 11:10 a.m., February 15, 2015.
We were given a checkout extension until 11:30 a.m. on February 15, 2015. We did not return to the room until late on February 14, 2015. At about 12:02 a.m., I noticed that the sink and bathtub had not been cleaned. Also, the shower cap had been discarded, but there was no replacement. So, I requested a shower cap and that the sink and tub be cleaned. A shower cap was provided, but I was told that the sink and tub could not be cleaned until around 7:00 a.m. Consequently, because we needed to shower and use the sink then, we had to clean them. That is the first time that we have ever needed to clean the bathroom as guests of a hotel!
Priceline was advised of the aforementioned problems. Subsequently, the hotel offered a 30 percent discount which almost a month later has not been received. Priceline was advised that I felt that there should be a 100 percent refund because of the abysmally poor customer service. However, it solely relies on the good faith of the hotel which provided the poor service to satisfactorily resolve the matter. So Priceline customers have no guarantee that they will be treated as well as other guests. If they are not, there is nothing that Priceline can or will do about it.

Priceline.com charges you, the bidder, an 8% fee for using their service. Rules for using Priceline.com: first, Priceline.com is non-refundable. Second, NEVER purchase/bid on a room with less than a Priceline customer rating of 7.0 rating. I prefer at least and 8.0 customer rating. Never bid/buy a hotel with no rating or less than 7.0. Third, bid on a room only after reviewing and studying the "Express Deals". You can always get the same hotel for about $3 to $5 less per night than the Express Deal price. Fourth, never click on one of their emails to "rebid" on a room. This will result in a room less than what you really want, but their "NO REFUND" policy will force you to keep the room.
For last minute (walk up to the counter) hotel needs, always ask for the AARP discount if you are a member (49.5 years old and older are eligible). Motel 6 usually can beat a Priceline offer with "NO PRICELINE FEE".

My fiance and I booked a San Juan vacation for my 40th birthday, but our flight home was canceled due to one of the Blizzards in the Northeast. The airline automatically booked us on a flight more than 24 hours later, which was unacceptable as we needed to return home to our children. Priceline was unable to offer us an alternate flight nor any sort of refund and we were forced to spend an additional $200+ to rent a car in NYC to get us home to Boston.
We have spent weeks being tossed back and forth by Priceline and the airline, with neither party accepting responsibility, and ultimately were able to clarify that Priceline would have to submit a request to the airline for our refund. We were told this request was submitted, but when following up with the airline more than a week later we found that it had never happened. Finally we got someone at Priceline to submit this request and today, after an entire month of mostly wasted phone calls, we were informed by Priceline that they would be issuing a $25 refund for each ticket. Seriously? In what world can anyone buy a plane ticket for $25?! Dealing with the disappointingly inept, sometimes rude, and often unhelpful customer service team at Priceline has been a frustrating and infuriating process and this was the icing on the cake. I will never use Priceline again.

I have used other travel booking services in the past, Expedia, Travelocity but recently got the runaround with Priceline. My airline trip was cancelled and the airline rebooked me on a flight the following day. This incurred unexpected expenses such as hotel and food on the layover. I contacted the airline customer service and requested to move my return date one day later since we lost a day of vacation due to the cancelled flight. They said they would normally do that for me with no cancellation fee due to the flight being cancelled however since I booked with Priceline I would have to contact them.
I finally got through and was told by the Priceline rep that I should call the airline, they couldn't do anything. I thought that luckily I purchased the travel insurance and following the instructions on my email contacted the third party insurance agent. Still waiting for any reply. I don't think I will use Priceline again, sorry Capt. Kirk!

I called the hotel directly and was informed if I would of called them directly, I would of been given the same price and would of been able to change the date. Never again will I use this site. Driving in the mountains of eastern Kentucky we decided we may need to make a reservation for two rooms, one pet-friendly. The cell service was sporadic but we were able to find motel listings for the next town and found a phone number for motel reservations in the town. We called and got what sounded like a guy working from home based on the background noises. The painful process of kind of rooms, names addresses, credit card numbers etc started. At one point we lost cell service but the guy called us back since he had our phone number. Now all this time I am headed east at 70 mph and am getting close to the town.
He says "ok I have what I need" and there is a long pause and he says "huh, my first choice doesn't have any rooms." We are wishing we had never called this number and he says "let me try my second choice." There is more silence and he finally says "ok they have what you want" and gave us the cost and asked if he should book the rooms and we say "go ahead." There is more silence and we are within a mile of the exit for the motel. He finally says, "Huh, I can't get it to go through." And I am exiting and the motel is right there. He says "let me try again" and more silence and we pull up to the motel lobby.
He says again "I can't get it to go through" and we say "look, we appreciate your effort but, we are at the motel and will just go in and make our arrangements, thanks for trying." He says nothing and we hang up, and proceed to book our own rooms, each $5 cheaper than the Priceline quote by the way. We ask if there had been any attempt to book rooms for us by anyone else and were told no.
It was 6:30 in the evening by the way and this guy has our phone number and could have called us back if this was a problem. Two weeks later we get our credit card bill and right there along with our legitimate charge is the Priceline charge. A dispute between the credit card company, motel and Priceline ensues which cost us a lot of time and the result was that Priceline claimed we had a contract and never cancelled it. Their reservation for 2 rooms for 4 October showed up at 3:00 AM on the 5th by the way after shift change at the motel. By the way, after my credit card company gave up, I called the motel manager myself and he called Priceline who blew him off as well, so the motel refunded my legitimate changes saying what Priceline did was not right. We will never do business with Priceline again and frankly don't see why anyone would.

Immediately, I contacted Priceline with my concern and they said they stand behind their rating and I got what I bid on. However upon checking to hotel the amenities that were guaranteed for that star level did not exist. I contacted Priceline again to complain and request a refund. They called hotel to verify and agreed that they didn't keep up their end of the bargain and offered a coupon for future use. I requested a refund of money. They said no and again offered coupon. I said I wasn't interested in a coupon - I wanted refunded so I could go somewhere else. Again no refund, but offered the coupon.
When I quote their policy stating they could in fact make an exception to their no refund, no cancellation policy at their discretion, the agent abruptly ended the Chat. They have very poor customer service resolution. I will never use them again. Buyer beware, they bait and switch and then when they agree they are wrong, they still refuse to make it right.

They told me (several times) that there are no refunds/no exchanges. I told the woman that I understood that, but it was truly an error and I JUST made it maybe one minute ago.
She got her supervisor who told me she would refund my money, minus a $25.00 fee. I told her with the room being $59.00, that seemed a bit much. She just kept repeating how she was doing me a 'favor' because normally, Priceline does not allow refunds or exchanges. My husband and I booked our room through Priceline. This place is absolutely HORRIBLE! We had to try 3 different rooms before we finally found one that didn't have an overwhelming smell!!! It still smelled bad so we left the window WIDE open and the heat on. This place is FILTHY! The sheets and the towels were a very dingy brownish color. The closet doors were broken and didn't open and close right. The toilet seat was old and broken, and it didn't always flush good. The sink drained very slowly.
The vents were very dusty and dirty. The fan/vent in the bathroom did not work. The bathroom sink was cracked and rusty. The bed was lumpy and the mattress was very old. The refrigerator was missing some shelves. The little table in the room had glue on the top. The shower curtain was old, torn, taped and moldy. There was water damage in the bathroom. The wallpaper was peeling. You could see the outside through the gap in the bottom of the front door.
The grout on the bathroom floor looked as if it were never cleaned. The carpet was old and was buckling. The lobby area where you had the breakfast is filthy the floors were not mopped properly and the eating area is disgusting. The manager used his fingers to clean off the waffle iron then actually blew on it to remove the crumbs. (I did not make a waffle after I saw that!)
The building is in bad need of maintenance, the paint is chipping, the outside ducts and fixtures rusting, there were cigarette butts laying around and garbage and junk stored in outside hallways and under the stairs. The Manager was very rude. And they charged us an extra $20 to change rooms. The rep at Priceline basically told me too bad, she's sorry and she would call the manager and that is all.

On December 17th, 2014, we contacted Priceline via telephone in order to alter our returning flight on our current itinerary. My husband received military orders prior to our departure, that he was required to return to Fort Bragg, NC, on December 30th, 2014. Initially, when we booked our flight, he was required to return on January 2nd, 2015. We explained this to the representative we spoke to, and he assured us that we could make the necessary changes to our current itinerary, if we paid the mandatory flight change fee of $200, (the airline fee) and $35, (the Priceline fee) per passenger.
After making the alterations to our returning flight, the Priceline Representative stated that our new total ticket price was $1790, including the changes we made to our returning flight. My husband confirmed throughout their conversation that this did indeed include all of the costs associated with changing our returning flight. The representative also informed us that we would be charged with our credit card on file, for the difference between our initial flight and the current changes we made to our flights. As a witness to the phone conversation, my husband reconfirmed with the representative, "So this is the total for our new ticket price, including the changes we just made?" He stated that was all that we would be charged. Therefore, we were anticipating the new ticket price to be $1790, as he himself quoted, including the changed flight.
He informed us that he would only be billing us for the returning flight difference, the Priceline and Airline Fees. Not once during this phone call, were we ever informed that we would be responsible to pay for the entire 2 person, round-trip fare for our initial itinerary and the altered 2 person round-trip fare for the altered itinerary. This was never alluded to during the conversation or clearly stated that we would pay for 4 tickets total, round-trip. My question to Priceline is, why would be have booked the second round-trip fare for 2 people; when we would not only have to pay the entire new flight fees, but also the cancellation fees?
If this fact was clearly represented through your customer service personnel, we would have been better off taking a loss on our first tickets, and not utilizing them at all. Instead, we would have booked our second flights through an independent airline, without utilizing Priceline, in order to avoid paying not only the cancellation fees, but also paying for 4 total round-trip fares, in the total of $3,430.40. As long-term customers of Priceline, to say we are disappointed with this situation would be a gross understatement.
For the past three years, during my husband's active duty military service, we have purchased tickets for every flight to and from California through Priceline. This includes individual flights I booked, every 2 months to NC from CA. I have been a loyal customer, and my husband and I have recommended Priceline to everyone I know as the best place to purchase flights. I will not be able to patronize or promote Priceline to anyone I know, if this situation is not amended. I instead, will have an obligation to inform people of our negative experience with Priceline via social media, Yelp, Google, and every other website that is available for posting reviews.
I do not feel that the representative clearly expressed the charges for the changes we made to our flight. My husband and I only have the opportunity to return home once each year, due to his active duty enlistment in the US Army; therefore, we will not be able to return home next Christmas. After this financial hardship of being charged for the two initial flight tickets, I expect that Priceline will make this situation right, and reimburse us for the initial flight, which was charged in full at $1640.40.
I am anticipating Priceline's correspondence within the next 5 business days, and if I do not receive a response, I will take further action elsewhere. We have attempted to correct the situation several times via telephone to no avail, and I trust Priceline will correct this. We received a response from the VP of Priceline stating that we simply misunderstood the representative, even though he never expressed or stated that we were being charged for 4 round trip flights. They said they will not be issuing any refund, not even a partial one.

I booked a three-night stay in a hotel in Kansas City for my son and his friend, who were visiting there. Made it through Priceline as they offered an affordable rate for a very nice room. I paid in full for the three-day stay via PayPal. Since the reservation was paid for under my name and I wasn't going to physically be present at the hotel, I contacted Priceline to be sure they understood the situation and that my son would be able to check in without any trouble. On the online chat session, I asked the agent about this situation, and here's what she told me--all of which turned out to be false: 1) My son would need a photo ID and a credit card in MY name. This was after I'd already told her that I would not be physically at the hotel (so my ID and credit card wouldn't be there either). I told her that he would only have his driver ID and his own debit/bank card available when he checked in.
After some delay, she then came back and said that actually, he could check in if he had TWO photo IDs and a credit card. I responded that he had only one photo ID on him, his driver's permit, and a debit card. I then suggested to her that, given this, perhaps we should cancel this reservation, which was made under my name (and thus my credentials), and put the same reservation under his name. In other words, I did not wish to cancel the reservation; I simply wanted to change the means of payment for the stay, to put it under my son's name. To this, the agent responded, "well, if you cancel this reservation, you'll be charged $109". When I objected to this, she cited the "contract" I'd "agreed to" stating that no cancellations are allowed without sustaining a fee (in this case, 1/3 of the entire cost) and that two forms of photo ID were required for checking into a hotel.
She then advised me to call the hotel about the situation, which I did. As it turns out, the clerk at the hotel told me that: 1) one photo ID was just fine, and 2) a credit card wasn't necessary - a debit card would work fine if it had $50 on it - and Priceline does NOT state in its contract that two forms of photo ID are required. In some, all of the information I received from this clerk was incorrect and Priceline's no-refund policy, as demonstrated in this case, is exploitative of consumers. I would discourage anyone from using them. Go straight to the hotel and pay a few extra bucks (or maybe a few less).

After 15 minutes of being on hold (not too bad for these days) the agent informed me that their policy allows them to make the reservation within 24 hours of the day I requested to travel and there is nothing they can do about it because the airline won't let them.
I spoke to United who were more than happy to change the flight but needed the agent to process the change. Spoke to Priceline again who told me it is the airline who won't let them. Called the airline and spoke to a manager who kindly explained everything and felt bad for me saying they have many travelers who are duped by Priceline's secret policy and have their travel ruined or become 3x more expensive. Oh that was a good laugh and she told me to buy it from Priceline, amazing. Priceline does not have any managers that you are allowed to speak to.
And the customer service person explained to me the reason they cannot change things is the computer they use controls the company and no one in the company can do anything about it, funny how all of a sudden the airline is not responsible after I spoke to them. He called the car rental company and they told him it would cost an extra $25 per day (it was an eight day rental, this doubled the rate). They would not let him cancel, and told him he had to contact Priceline.
Priceline insisted on charging him a $15 cancellation fee, because their customer service department doesn't understand how their bidding system works. They told him that car rental companies can charge fees to drivers under 25. Duh! That is why you have a block to check off if you are under 25, and your website says your bid will then include this fee! If you have a system that allows you to indicate you are under 25 and that your bid is based on that information, how can you charge a cancellation fee when that feature doesn't work, and fails to include that information in your bid? And, they said it would take at least ten days to get him the partial refund. Never again will we use Priceline. Beware of their bidding software, it doesn't always work properly and you will pay fees to cancel when it doesn't, as well as waiting for your money for a minimum of 10 days.

Long story short never use Priceline. I will never come back again. Long story, long - first things first, imagine my situation. Newly engaged and so excited for our destination wedding in Italy (from Boston). We booked our flights in August for a May wedding. We were thinking book early, save money, we are paying for our wedding ourselves and needed to save every dollar we could. We were hesitant to book a 2 ticket itinerary for $2760, but figured the prices would only go up. We spent our very hard earned money that day in August.
Fast forward this to December (4 months after purchase, still 5 months from wedding day). We learned of a changed trip with our family. Our family that has never been to Italy and are joining for our wedding. They were planning to stay with us a few days after the wedding to travel. We then called Priceline to make a simple change. Here is what we found!
Apparently somewhere in the fine print, the ticket we purchased were unalterable. We could do nothing to change, cancel, modify our tickets. We had booked at 3 flight leg. We wanted to cancel the 2nd flight in the leg. We still needed the 1st and 3rd legs. They could not modify the reservation at all without canceling and rebooking. This said I explored the option and was grossly upset. The flight was 340 (across both tickets) cheaper. This would have been great but since we already booked our flights they could not apply the lower cost to a refund, or our CHANGE FEE. Yes I said change fee. They applied $660 change fee to our tickets. They could not apply the cost savings to the fee, or anything.
When this was all said and done, we lost the $340 in overpayment for the original flight and had to pay another $660 in change fees. This flight cost me and my future wife and extra $1000 right before our special day. Good thing that $1000 wouldn't even buy one share of PCLN. Glad they enjoy ripping the common man off so they can continue to drive shareholder revenue. I WILL NEVER USE PRICELINE AGAIN! I will tell everyone I can to never use them. They are truly the worst company ever. Thanks for anyone that listens and does anything.

Life happens to all of us but if a customer is asking for something other than a refund, the business should be able to attempt to satisfy the customer. This is one mistake I will not make again. DO NOT USE PRICELINE if you can not predict bad or unfortunate things happening to all parties attending.

I have used Priceline for many years. I was bidding on a particular hotel. Because Priceline boasts they can save you UP TO 60% on the advertised price, I began low, at 40% of the advertised price, and kept increasing my bid again and again until the bid was accepted at $29 less than the advertised price. Woo. What a savings. (NOT.)
I went ahead and booked the Sheraton in Maitland, FL b/c it's near Winter Park, and my daughter loves Winter Park. Here comes the good part: when the receipt came through, I had been part of a "bait and switch" and was assigned to the DoubleTree in Downtown Orlando. NOT the hotel I was bidding on. Worse, the DoubleTree in Downtown Orlando was being advertised as $90 per night, so I paid MORE for the WRONG Hotel in the WRONG part of town. Just spent 50 min. on the phone with someone in India, who kept asking same questions over and over. She also "accidentally" hung up on me, but ultimately did call back, but was as stubborn and argumentative as ever about rectifying the situation. I do NOT recommend booking with Priceline unless you like playing Russian Roulette with your money, and don't mind taking your 11 yo to a hotel you DIDN'T CHOOSE - a hotel in the ghetto.

Not even the bid that was 45 dollars a day....and their own ad said I could rent now from them for 56 dollars a day as part of my 'bid rejected' notification. I will spend 11 dollars a day more from a long established rental agency that will let me cancel the reservation. The 'savings' of 11 or fewer dollars a day does not interest me. I am done with priceline before I even started.

I have used Priceline often, mostly for travel to Boston. I have had one other experience that was horrible, but today was exceptionally bad. I am traveling to Vegas with my daughters. I decided to try "name your price" under what was classified as a South Strip Hotel. They have other designations such as east or west of the strip. When a hotel is listed in the same classification as Mandalay Bay, New York, New York, etc I can safely assume that is it on the same level, and same location. However I made a bid, and found myself in a non-gaming, no sit down restaurant, not on the strip. Not to mention the price for the hotel was less than what I bid.
I chatted online with a representative who said it's too bad that there is no guarantee that a hotel listed on the strip is considered a "strip" hotel. After explaining my situation, and the confusion, and the price difference, I suggested that we cancel this reservation, and I will pay for a specific hotel. This would have made Priceline between $30-50 a night more, and made a returning customer happy. Instead she said she had to check on the price listed on the website. This was something I did in less than 10 seconds. It took her several minutes. Then she came back and said, "Well I can reimburse you $98 plus dollars for the guarantee reimbursement." This somehow was more insulting than the false advertising.
Priceline is willing to lose customers at the price of losing money. They just lost close to $200, due to not wanting to cancel and rebook a reservation. So making a customer mad is worth $200. That is an interesting business model. They could have said that in order to change the reservation I needed to stay in the most expensive hotel on the strip. I would have, and I would have been happy.
I use Priceline or Hotwire about 12 times or more a year for hotels, cars, and airfare.

Do not use Priceline, no matter how tempting their commercials may seem. I booked a hotel in Wichita using the name your price tool and setting a minimum of three stars. When my reservation was confirmed for a price that matched almost exactly with the listed price, I looked at the reviews and the hotel had a recurring issue of non-smoking rooms smelling like smoke due to the rooms being side by side and not segregated.
My fiance has a severe issue with smoke induced asthma so I called Priceline to inform them of a legitimate medical issue and request a change of hotels. Even if it meant an up charge or transfer fee. They were very rude and insisted the hotel was an excellent hotel. They had no concern or compassion and when I made a comment asking if they were about customers or money, the guy on the other line said money. That told me all I needed to know. I will never use Priceline again and I recommend you follow my advice and the vast majority of reviews on this and other sites.

Booked a hotel through Priceline while traveling long distance with 2 children and a 6-month old baby. Spent a good deal of time browsing available hotels and prices with amenities. When we arrived at the hotel tired at 10 pm we found the room Priceline booked us was dirty and had not been cleaned from the previous reservation. The hotel desk said they were sorry and the maids must have missed that room. The hotel was booked full, no vacancy and could not offer us another room. The desk clerk called Priceline and attempted to get us help.
The customer service rep for Priceline kept asking the same question over and over again, it took over an hour of standing in the lobby at 11 pm with a very cranky baby and very tired parents and children for Priceline to refund our money. And then they were done with us. They wouldn't help us book another hotel or compensate us in anyway for basically being promised a room we did not receive. After heading to this location, we were put out in the cold at 11 pm after an 8-hour drive with a crying baby and 2 tired kids and frustrated parents. We then had to find our own hotel at the last minute. This cost us 2x as much and resulted in 2 double beds instead of 2 queen beds like we had at the other facility. We finally got into a room around 1145. Worst experience ever!!!

On January 20, 2015, I booked a hotel stay for three nights for May of 2015. I put in a bid of $150 and selected a four star hotel. To my delight, the offer was accepted and I was booked in The W San Diego. I was quite pleased with this hotel selection. I booked one room because it was just two of us girls that were confirmed on making the trip and it is to celebrate my birthday. But within a few days, two more confirmed. I remembered an email that was sent from Priceline that advertised "Add a room to your stay-Extra guests? Add a room to your reservation for the same nightly rate." Well I took this as add a room for the same nightly rate.
On 1/30/15, I clicked on the link and was directed to Priceline's web page. After a few seconds of the "price negotiator" spinning, the SAME NIGHTLY RATE came back as $232 a night, quite a difference from my booked nightly rate of $150. Now the email they sent to me was quite short in words so very easy to read through and not be able to misunderstand their use of language. Nowhere in this email does it state any exclusions or stipulations of this offer, no offer expires, good while quantities last, nothing to reference the legalities or fine print of the offer. Needless to say, I was quite upset by this turn of events in room pricing.
I quickly got online to Live Chat with a rep of Priceline and got nowhere, told me that the offer is only good for certain itineraries (then why send the email to me), then the rep's story changed to good until sells out, then on and on he went. I then called the customer service number listed on Priceline's website and to my excitement I was able to speak to a wonderful individual in the Philippines!!! Again got nowhere with this person, she instructed me that there was no phone number available for me to contact someone in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, sorry but this is complete bs. The original incoming flight arrival was 3:30, so that was the pickup time. I picked up the car at 6:30 pm, and dropped it off at 6 -- within a 24-hour window -- and Priceline refuses to credit me back for the day that I did not use. They state the reason as the hours listed on my original reservation.
First of all, the reservation should have stated drop off at least an hour before the flight as I mentioned. Second, their policy on their website states that if a car reservation cannot be used because a flight is late or cancelled, or other circumstances beyond their control, they will refund the rental. When I was at the car rental counter I asked if they could refund me the day I didn't use and they said Priceline would have to do it. We realized this once the confirmation email came across, and called them immediately saying we booked in the wrong neighborhood by accident. We called up, and they wanted to charge us $150 for changing the location. This is ridiculous. I had a similar issue with Ticketmaster for some tickets that were booked for the wrong date, and took them to small claims court to win my money back. Not only did they pay me the amount in full, they had to pay interest in addition. Ticketmaster never even showed up to small claims court (it wasn't worth them paying a lawyer to show up and defend them).
I suggest to anyone else that's been screwed over by Priceline that you take them to small claims court to win your money back. We may well go down that avenue in this case as well. It's so good when the justice system actually functions as it's supposed to and holds companies accountable.

They have a "Best Price Guarantee" and minutes after booking our room, I realized that the hotel was charging $25 less per night for the same room (a difference of $225). I contacted Priceline and discovered that they give you multiple excuses why they won't be honoring their "Best Price Guarantee" then they make it impossible for you to claim your refund. I looked online and noticed that others were having the same issue with them.
Since they weren't honoring their agreement, I asked them to cancel my reservation. They wouldn't, so I took the risk and reserved our room directly through the hotel at the cheaper rate (even though I knew that there was a chance I might not get my money back from Priceline). Then I reported Priceline to our credit card consumer dispute department. I was just informed last evening that after investigating our dispute, our credit card is refunding all of our Priceline charges because Priceline didn't honor their contract. The issue - I have booked the same hotel ALWAYS when flying cross country. The Hyatt Regency in the Orlando Airport. When I clicked their photo and their price, I entered my credit card information and suddenly I was booked into the Renaissance Airport Hotel. There has been no attempt to rectify the situation and nothing other than "I'm so sorry - you booked a non-refundable room" from multiple CSRs. I can't believe they're making money off of me. I guess I will be settling this with the credit company.
PRICELINE - you can kiss my A$$$. I won't be traveling with you or booking another $2K in hotel rooms for this trip. I will gladly give my money to another third party re-seller or the primary hotels who have reasonable customer service. You just lost a pretty loyal customer over a crap CSR and CSR escalation rep. Shame on you.

I made a hotel reservation through Priceline.com in Ottawa for a short vacation with my family. My card was charged when I booked. We got to the hotel (Chimo) but found out it is filthy and does not fit into a one star hotel. We chose not to stay there and contacted Priceline.com for cancellation. We asked for our refund but were told there will be no refund. While I booked they did not indicate I will loose all money if I decide to cancel. Pronto the reservation canceled but Priceline.com withheld the entire money for 4 days and not the traditional one night fee. This is real scam.

This is by far the worst hotel experience we have had. The hotel booking that I made was at a 3 star Hilton Garden Inn was not confirmed by the hotel but we still got a confirmation claiming that room was available, from Priceline. On arrival at the hotel at 12 a.m after a long and tiring journey, we discovered that the booking was not confirmed by the hotel, Priceline/Booking.com did not even know!!!! We had to speak to a rude customer care representative from Booking.com, and instead we received a 2-star hotel in compensation with a mail saying that Booking.com did the best they could to find a hotel to suit our needs. Completely not acceptable.
The hotel was old. It was no comparison to the Hilton. The sheets were stained and the bathroom did not have shower curtains. I am actually aghast at the complacency that Booking.com showed while we explained our situation. I got an allergy due to the pillows and the 2nd hotel that we were offered. With no options left and a long journey ahead of us the next day we mustered our courage and stayed at this place. We were offered no compensation for the time we lost and the mental stress that we went through over the last leg of our journey due to Priceline. We want to make sure that this does not happen to anyone else. Booking.com should be checking their bookings before confirming to their customers. Completely disgusted and disappointed with Booking.com.

I made a reservation with Priceline and when we showed up, this hotel was not up to our standards. When we called to cancel the second night, they said we couldn't cancel and they couldn't do anything to help me and then hung up on me.

Showed up at the airport only to be told we were too late to check-in and would not be able to board our flight to Mexico. I showed the woman from Delta the email that I got two days earlier from Priceline that showed the departure time. She looked at it and said "that's not the correct time." So, I call Priceline and they tell me that two months ago I received an email with a time change (I did) and that in that email it says that I should ignore future emails from Priceline. I checked that email, and sure enough, in the third paragraph of fine print it said something to that affect. So, technically it was my fault. But, why on earth would Priceline send me an email with a different flight time right before my trip? Do they really think that wouldn't cause any confusion? And who remembers the fine print from an email months ago? I asked Priceline those questions, but all I got were stock answers and a shrug. The bottom line is that Priceline sends their clients incorrect travel information right before their trips and sees nothing wrong with that. Crazy to think that a travel agency whose whole business depends on accurate times and dates could operate that way, but there you have it.

I did not contact you to request information about my trip and you know that. I have contacted you to work with somebody who can help me. I called in today for the 3rd time because previous 2 times people on the phone were extremely rude and basically were just laughing in my face and thinking “YES we stole the money from you and there is nothing you can do about that!!!”
I must say yes so far they are correct, my money was stolen from me by "priceline.com" and I have not found anyone who would try to help me instead of robbing me. If people just change the angle a little bit asking “how can we help this customer to retain him/her for a very long time” instead of asking “how can we rob thousands more?” I've done a lot of business before with priceline.com personally and through my business when traveling and was a very happy customer until couple of days ago when I reserved the hotel for 21 nights here in my local area (I am selling my house and buying another one and there is a gap where I need to stay somewhere) so I chose priceline.com to do business with since my prior experience was very smooth and pleasant.
Anyway very quickly I needed a pet friendly hotel and I did not see that on the option panel when making my selection within your website so I have reached out to your customer service rep in chat window to ask some questions about my concern and was giving some guidelines where I could find pet friendly hotel BUT I was lied to when I was told wrong information about policies. Basically your person lied to me in the intention to steal money from me probably to make extra commission and the pet policy were totally different from what I was told.
When I received the confirmation email with an actual name of the hotel I found out the correct information about my concern and immediately called your support line to cancel this transaction for this matter. I explained my situation and was told that I am responsible and there is nothing I can do to get my money back. I was also told to read a fined print next time when pushing the button. Basically I was just a fun subject to get laughed at for others and another victim of many that got robbed pretty nasty way. After this I called my AMX company explaining this and was told that they will be happy to take that charge away and dispute this transaction but will need to wait another day to be posted.
I called in to AMX today and rep was trying to proceed with dispute and was not able to which tells me that they have and probably along with other credit card companies some kind of deal in the background that priceline.com gives AMX and others some kind of commission from people that were able to successfully steal money from.
In the meantime I purchased my stay in different hotel using another company hoping that I could resolve this issue. Today after speaking to AMX and the hotel directly I spoke with priceline.com rep for the 3rd time and was told the same thing with very rude and sarcastic attitude that I am the one responsible and there is nobody that can help me with my concern, I truly wanted to talk to somebody who can resolve this issue for me by either giving me my money back or changing the dates on my hotel reservation but everyone was just saying basically "we got another one".
I was transferred to the "HIGHEST" authority of customer relations that I thought that could help me somehow to resolve this but to be honest I could not understand what he was saying so I asked him where is his location (the person that I am speaking with ) and he said Philippines. So basically I got made fun of me again and was instead of someone with authorities to make a decision about helping a customer with real issue to some 3rd vendor party that can't speak English. So with this I am reaching out and asking "CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE CONTACT ME?" and try to help me with this. I will be trying to send this message across more after I do a little research but if someone can help me right away I would be very appreciative. Thank you very much for your help and support.

Booked hotel room through Priceline they was advertising $56 plus tax. Got my receipt from the hotel, the room was actually $49 plus tax which came out 15$ cheaper. Priceline refused to give me back the money even though they guarantee if you find the price lower they would refund the money.

Don't think because Priceline spends millions telling you how great they are that it's true! Booked a California hotel with Priceline @ $136. per night for three nights, not a great price and not a great hotel, have been there before, so I know what to expect. In the following several hours the hotel shows up on hotels.com for $97. Same room same date, same free breakfast, same everything.. Priceline doesn't honor it because the $97. rate with hotels.com is refundable and the Priceline rate is not. What this translates to, the hotel.com deal blows it away..and Priceline just blows!! I had to write this review...

Priceline's Name Your Price for hotels scammed my wife and I out of an enjoyable New Year's. We chose only 2.5 star and above hotels because they listed what brands that rating implies (Marriott, Hampton Inn). We were given a Comfort Inn that they conveniently rated exactly 2.5 stars. I called customer service where they just quoted their fine print of "our list only showed example results". Be ready to pay for what you don't want if you use this tool.

This morning before I left I enquire at the reception desk of the hotel (Wyndham garden hotel Chelsea) what would have been the price if I had book directly through them. Just to compare the prices and see what was my saving going through Priceline.. Wow.... I learn that I paid mainly double what the hotel last price are.. It cost me between 75 to 100% more than what I would had pay if I had made myself the reservation.. Wow... WHAT A SCAM....... NEVER AGAIN......

Charging for services that have not been rendered is Un-American!!! If I had made the reservation and cancelled at the last minute...maybe they might have an argument....I attempted to cancel within 1 hour and two weeks out...and then they want to add penalties???? OUTRAGEOUS!!! My recourse is to write their corporate offices and then I will seek legal remedy! DON'T USE PRICELINE!!! IT GETS NO STARS!!!!!!

For the second time I bid on a hotel at priceline.com. I didn't want to pay over 100 dollars a night and got Marriott, which by far is the biggest offender of the Priceline scam. After I got the room, the promised Wi-Fi was not included in the 100 dollar price, and there would be an additional resort fees to use the pool etc.. Last week I got another Marriott deal from Priceline in West Palm Beach Florida, and found the room didn't even have a bathroom fan, but did include a poop stain in the toilet and the room looked run down. Overheard the desk staff bickering about what room to put me in because apparently there are "Priceline rooms" which are substandard, in less desirable areas, haven't been remodeled yet... Basically rooms that a full paying customer wouldn't get.
When I tried to reach Priceline customer service I got disconnected 3 times because apparently I couldn't type fast enough. Finally I got a rep named Ray who told me to read the small print on my contract, and there was nothing he could do. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He said, "Seriously, no one can help you, you agree to the contract." What contract? I didn't see a contract? Apparently where you initial there is a link to the contract! I am sick!

I have had the privilege of staying in some of the most prestigious hotels in the world. I decided to use Priceline to book a trip for my family in Miami and beyond regret my decision to do so. 4 star hotels for 2 stars prices? Yeah, right... We get here at the Tradewinds Apartment and Hotel in South Beach Miami Florida to find dirty linens and floors, cockroaches, several other insects, and the worst MOLD. Yes there are mold colonies growing on the kitchen placemats of the dining table! I refuse to stay another day here and will be booking a room somewhere else no matter what the cost as this is beyond unacceptable. I will be pursuing legal action as this establishment does not deserve to be in operation another day. I also have SEVERAL photos documenting the insects and mold. It won't let me upload more than two images for some reason though.

We will never do business with Priceline or Frontier. (Third bad experience with Frontier.)

I use to like Baymont and we have used them as a halfway point between Nashville and Virginia beach. I had a reservation set for tomorrow night booked thru Priceline.com. I have been ill as I have had cancer and in unbearable pain to where I cannot travel. I called to cancel my reservation for there and for my reservation at Red Roof Inn in Tennessee. It's already hard enough being ill and not being able to see my family for the holidays. I called them as soon as I knew I couldn't make it and my mom suggested I wait until later when I will have further testing for my health issues in January.
I called the hotel right at 12 noon. They said call Priceline since I was booked thru them. This put the time at 12:05 due to me having to find their number and go thru the whole automated things before getting a person. They said nothing they can do. I will be charged penalty which is full price of room. The reservations I have for 24th thru 26th supposedly canceled and won't be charged. Surprise! Charged for it all!!
I will never use this place again and it's very unfortunate they are so uncaring and greedy especially this time of year! I will be letting everyone I know of this incident. Thanks for nothing! Now my bank account is showing they have taken out for both hotels I reserved and cancelled!! Even the one I have confirmation for that said it is cancelled!
