Beware that "name your own price" may not be your final price. I recently named my price on 4 star hotel and found out the $30 per day mandatory valet fee and the $11.00 per day internet fee was not included in the price. Unfortunately they do not tell you before you name your price what is included and what will be "extra". Customer service at Priceline was no help.

I was having a hard time finding any hotels for under 250 a night in downtown Seattle, so finally broke down and used the Priceline name your price. I clearly selected downtown financial district and I get stuck with a hotel by the stadium. I call to complain and the off-shore representative says, "Oh I see, it is 1.9 miles from downtown Seattle." Great... I selected downtown Seattle because I want to be within walking distance to my meetings. Not walk 1.9 miles in a suit in the summer. To make matters worse, the hotel they picked for my price was being advertised $10 less per night on their own web-site. My own fault for not working with a local hotel for my multiple business trips, but rest assured I'll never use Priceline again.

Two days ago I booked a hotel for 2 nights online. The hotel name didn't show anywhere until I'd paid for it. The hotel they chose was Stay America, the problem is I'd just left another Stay America in Raleigh, because I got sick from being there while renovations are going on, and a problem with my credit card being overcharged. I called Priceline to ask for another hotel or a refund so I could go to another hotel. Basically, I was told hard cheese, and I should write to some company and I would give a refund, maybe in about 3 months. I was also told that the hotel would require $100 in cash as a deposit, although I used my credit card. I had to give in and go to the hotel, where I found out no deposit would be necessary, because I had used a credit card.

This was my first time using Priceline, and it will be the last. Their customer service people need refreshing training, to learn that customers are responsible for their business' success, and should always be treated with respect. The woman I spoke to had this tone in her voice like she was speaking to a **, I could almost see her rolling her eyes..

I selected the 'Let Priceline Choose' and when I did a search afterward, thinking it was kind of a high price for a 2.5-3 start hotel... I then found six other websites offering rates way cheaper than what I just paid. I trusted Priceline would be honest about finding me a deal and they cost me an extra $100 a night than I would have paid going ANYWHERE else. DON'T USE PRICELINE UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY MORE FOR YOUR HOTEL.

Beware of Priceline's name your own price feature. For years, I have used this feature willingly paying the price I bid plus taxes and fees. However, now Priceline adds a hotel fee on the back end, which I was not aware of prior to submitting my bid. My hotel fee was $19.95. So, I bid $109 for a hotel and I am being charged a non-refundable fee of $158.59. You can decide for yourself if this is the type of company you want to do business with.

In order to book a correct flight online, I had to tried 3 times, and I was charged total $120 for the fees. First time because the time is too early, I tried to changed the time, they said got to charge me $200 penalty. In order to reduce the penalty I have to book again from them. This time their system has the problem, I put in flight date Aug 21, the confirmation come out Aug 16. They charged me another $30 for this error, total 2 tickets, they charged $60. And I have to book 3rd time in order to get back the rest. It was a horrible problem.

And they don't pick up the phone if you don't have a confirmation, that mean if you have problem while booking, no one will help you, unless you booked it and made mistake, then they pick up the phone and tell you that you got to pay for the mistake. People want to save money so go to Priceline, but actually they are ripped off. If I book from a traditional travel agency, they only charge me $30 for the service fee, that' s it, and worry free. That's a terrible experience.

Leaving Seattle, 8/13: SeaTac hotel, $63.00, Travelodge in the slums by Priceline. The minibus picked me up with a friendly driver, but the car was terribly old, dirty, with torn seats. I was the only customer. The Travelodge, very old and dirty, was running a bar with a small front for motel. Women who looked suspicious were loitering outside. I did not feel safe. It was at 14845 International Blvd, SeaTac 98168.

On 8-14-15 me and my family was suppose to check into Crossland Economy Studios in Mesquite, Texas that we got thru a bundle package thru Priceline. Well our flight, they set up to arrive at 10:25 at nite. Then they gave us a hotel that's 30 mins away from the airport. Well our flight was delayed 4hrs, so we called the hotel and Hertz to inform them of the flight delay. So by the time we got to Dallas from Indiana it was 2am. We finally get the rental car and drive 30 mins the hotel, might I add, which we asked to be close to the airport as possible. There were several closer hotels in the area. So we get to the hotel, exhausted and ready to sleep cuz now it's 3am by time we get to the hotel. We get there and they tell us that don't check in after 11pm and they lock the lobby for the nite as per their policy. So we going back and forth with the hotel to no avail.

So we call Priceline to handle the problem since it's their fault for setting us up with a hotel so far and whose policy don't allow check-ins after 11. Knowing they gave us a flight that was going have us get there after 11pm even without the flight delay. Anyway so we call Priceline and they call the hotel to get them to let us check in. After waiting for 45 mins he tell us there is nothing he can do. I was furious and irritated. So then they tell us we can still check in that evening at 3pm. I asked several times for a supervisor and they refused to give me one but instead sends me to another customer service agent who repeat the same process. Then after another hour pass he tells me that there is nothing they can do because of the hotel policy.

So I ask for a refund for the day that we not using due to their mistake. They refused to give us a refund. Even tho it's Priceline guarantee policy to honor any checking due to flight delays and it was their fault for setting us up with that late flight and with a hotel with that type of policy. Then I said, "We'll cancel the rest of the reservation and give us another hotel." They said per our contract they can't do it. Plus we would lose all of the money we already paid. Then told us they did the best they could for me and hung up in my face after going back and forth for 2 hrs. So now it's almost 5am and we stuck in our car with nowhere to stay.

Luckily the day shift manager at the hotel came in at 7am and had talked to the night shift girl about our situation. She saw us sleep in the car outside the lobby and allowed us to check in at 8am instead of 3pm. But then we had specifically asked Priceline for 2 beds when got the package because it's four of us that was going. But of course they only set us up for a king bed. I was totally out, done with Priceline. Their manager had mercy on us and gave us a double thank God. Needless to say it was a very horrible nite from the beginning. But I will never use Priceline again!!! THEY ARE LIARS, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS ARE RUDE!! And extremely incompetent! Their guarantee policy is BS! So please beware!!

Found a great room at a great price for a trip on my birthday weekend. Booked the room and found out not even an hour later that I would be unable to make it to the destination. I Called the hotel to cancel and was rerouted to Priceline, and was then told by Priceline that my room was nonrefundable, nontransferable AND non-changeable. Really?! I could not believe my ears. They didn't even try to rectify the problem. Their only answer was that they got me a great room at a great rate. How is either one of those "great" to me if I can't enjoy them? Priceline is really insensitive to their customers' needs. Thanks a lot for nothing Priceline, I hope you enjoyed the $100+ you TOOK from me on my birthday. You will NEVER get the chance to rip me off again. I'd rather pay full price for a room that I can actually get a refund on than to pay a discounted rate without options and pretty much have my money taken from me.

Will start by saying it's ultimately my fault for not paying attention. That said, what a ridiculous racket Priceline is. Found out the "special" rate I was paying ($100 per night) would've been $109 per night through the hotel directly, and they WOULD have let me make changes or even cancel FOR FREE. Booked a hotel across the state for 2 nights through Priceline. Had to change plan and only stay the second night. Wasn't trying to cancel, just change the reservation.

The barely English speaking rep at Priceline explained she was "unable to assist me because their policy does not allow for changes or cancellations". I asked "Why not?" She could only mutter the same stupid company line. I asked "are your calls recorded?" She said "Yes". I said "good. I will never use Priceline again. I thought you guys were there to actually make my buying experience easier but it turns out you're just there to collect money." No reply. My guess is, seeing all the bad reports, they just do not care. Good luck with that policy Priceline! Will never use again.

First, the room I received was not inside, it was outside and not as advertised via Priceline. The room was older, smelled stale, and was typically below my standard but I did not argue as I arrived late and was exhausted from my travels. The following day I attended my scheduled events, returned after midnight to find my room had not been serviced. I figured I'd voice my complaint and request towels in the morning. However, at approximately, 2:30 AM, someone began to enter my door from the outside with a key. I jumped up in absolute fear yelling to the person "Get the ** away from my door!" I was not dressed, unarmed, surprised, and completely defenseless. The man was startled himself as he stared at me for a moment, shut the door, and yelled through the door that the room had just been rented to him and they gave him the key.

I couldn't believe what was happening. I had never heard of such an experience. My heart was pounding and I was utterly confused, troubled, and terribly pissed off. I called the front desk and asked them what were they doing. The employee said he would send security. Five minutes later, a young guy with sagging pants, a soiled and wrinkled t-shirt, and no badge shows up saying he is security. The "security" said he didn't know what was going on. Again, the unprofessional attire, haphazard effort to provide security, and inability to get answers from the front desk or the joke for security was appalling. I didn't feel safe in the room and no one had an answer. I called the front desk again and told them I could not stay in the room. Why did I, a customer, have to give them the idea of giving me an interior room.

So, at 3 AM, I was upgraded to a suite. I still could not sleep soundly as I was completely frightened by someone entering my room from the outdoors. Can you imagine the terror in an unfamiliar area for the first time? I am greatly disappointed with Priceline at this point. I have reserved my comments, but Priceline's response after voicing my complaint upon my return was not acceptable. Priceline insisted that this was not their problem and I should contact the Pointe Plaza Hotel. Priceline also addressed me by the wrong name in their response. "Smit **" Who in the hell is that? Not only did the hotel not know their room was rented, but Priceline didn't even know the name of the customer. Keep in mind, they have the reservation information and my name is my email address. Maybe Priceline just uses form letters to blow off their customers.

I refused to contact the hotel as Priceline acted as the agent for the hotel. It was an absurd request for me to contact anyone. I am thoroughly offended. Adding insult to injury, Priceline emailed, "We apologize for the inconvenience you faced". This wholeheartedly dismisses the terror I experienced when someone opened my door while I was sleeping and maybe speaks to a corporate culture that does not really value its customers. To date, I have not been issued a refund for this dismal experience and you can still book the Pointe Plaza Suites, Newport News, VA on Priceline. It's been three weeks and you would think the 61 Billion Dollar behemoth would actually give a damn about its customers or brand. The fact that Priceline continues to do business with this hotel suggests that corporate culture that cares far less about people and more about profits as they are not afraid to put their customers at risk.

I have used Priceline to book business and personal travel for more than 10 years. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars on hotels and rental cars. I will never use Priceline again, and here is why. For a recent business trip, I attempted to book a hotel room off their site (something I have done many many times). I got a message that essentially said "Reservation line is currently unavailable. Try back again in a few minutes. Your credit card has not been charged." So, I tried again. Got the same message. I tried a third time. Got the same message. So, I tried for a different hotel, thinking to myself, maybe it is this specific hotel that is the problem. I got my fourth attempt. A couple hours later, when I checked email, I saw two reservations. Apparently one of my "unsuccessful" attempts was "successful" despite the message stating my card had not been charged.

I immediately called customer service at Priceline. After speaking with two different people, I was told, in a nutshell, "You received notification that your reservation went through, and then booked a second reservation. You are responsible for both reservations." Despite my attempt to explain that I would never have booked the second reservation if I had thought the first one went through, and that I was given an error message stating my card had not been charged, customer service refused to refund the reservation. I emailed customer service and got the same response. All I can say is that I am out $721.28, and Priceline will never get another penny from me again. I intend to book directly with all hotels and rental cars in the future and encourage you to do the same.

I'm very disgusted with Priceline and will not purchase from this company again in the future. This is not the first time I purchase vacation packages but it was the first with them and also the last. Their customer service is awful. I wanted to avoid the Hudson Hotel because the rooms are very poor, the Hudson rated themselves a 3.5 star. With this information I selected only 4-star hotels however when I was successful the hotel I was given was the Hudson hotel. Priceline considers this a 4-star hotel. The problem with the room is that the toilet is right next to the bed, no walls or doors. You are forced to pay for an upgrade, the last time it cost me another $100.00 a night. All other details of the hotel rooms were in bright writings. They weren't willing refund my money when I explained the misunderstanding and told me that there is a cancellation fee of $138 if I tried canceling.

My husband and I flew to France in mid May. We booked our flight through Priceline. Technically the flight was through American Airlines, but British Airways was listed as the carrier. The night before the trip I found out that our flight had been cancelled, yet no one had informed us of this change, and no one had tried to reschedule the flight. What ensued was 12 hours of hell trying to rebook the flight. Priceline claimed the other airlines would have to fix the problem because they technically had the "credit" for the flight and it could only be transferred by them. The airlines refused to help stating that they informed Priceline of the cancellation a while ago, and it was Priceline's responsibility to contact me to reschedule the flight.

Because Priceline never contacted me, the flight was cancelled. I ended up finding out that the flight had been cancelled 5 months prior to our actual departure date, just days after we booked. We ended up having to pay a change fee to rebook the flight to another time because we were making a change "less than 24 hours in advance". We contacted Priceline afterward and I am now two months in waiting for the refund for the change fee. I just spoke to someone supposedly at the highest level who assured me the matter had indeed been "escalated" and they were handling the matter internally. It is unlikely that anything has actually been done considering the timeline was 10 business days, and I have been waiting for over two months. I am disgusted with Priceline and the way they manage their customer service.

I feel like the customer service reps are trained to say "I am so sorry for..." fill in the blank, and then tell you how they can't help. I value my sanity enough to not put another moment into talking with them, and this is my final therapeutic rant. I will warn everyone in the future though to stay as far away from third party booking companies, particularly Priceline. I hope their company's future success is exactly what they deserve.

There should be greater transparency regarding hidden hotel fees when the Name Your Own Price (NYOP) tool is used on Priceline. I booked a hotel through NYOP; thus locking me into purchasing a hotel stay. I then found out the hotel has an exorbitant self-parking fee not included in the purchase/bid price of the room. While taxes are understandable as not included in the NYOP bid, hidden fees such as self parking allow hotels to manipulate the NYOP tool to attract business by decreasing the room cost and increasing the cost of hidden fees for a bait and switch in regards to fair pricing.

One can consider Priceline a party to aiding these hotels by not including a button at the time of bid to exclude certain hidden fees such as parking from its pool of hotels. If I am traveling without a car, I would be more than happy to book a hotel with a parking fee. If I am booking a hotel for several nights with a family minivan, I would check a box to not include hotels with a parking fee. Priceline's failure to introduce a mechanism as simple as a button to sort out hotel fees places them in concert with bait and switch practices and opens them up for class action lawsuit of being unable to actually "Name Your Own Price".

I used the app on my android to book a 2 night stay at a hotel. I bid $75 per night for a 3.5 star hotel in Lynchburg, VA. I knew the possibility was slim, but I had nothing to lose. I entered my credit card info and e-signed my initials that I agreed to pay immediately if a hotel matching my criteria accepted my bid and acknowledged that this reservation, if my bid were accepted, was not changeable, transferable, or refundable. I clicked to submit the bid and received the message "Price Accepted". As I scrolled to see my itinerary, I found that I had been charged $139.00 per night with a total charge of $328 for the 2 night stay!

When I called to complain, they kept restating that the contract in front of them shows that I initialed a contract agreeing to pay without change, transfer or refund. I spoke with a supervisor who kept restating that she would email me the contract that shows that I initialed the contract. When I understood that she would not be changing her tune, I requested that she issue me a voucher for $150 since she was unable to change what was already in the system. She said that was impossible. I am now in process of working with my credit card company who will lodge a dispute for me as soon as the charge posts to my account. Now I don't know if I should make another reservation with a cheaper hotel. I'm just so upset that this company has swindled so many out of so much. As a newbie to Priceline, I booked a car/hotel and had a great experience so I decided to book my next trip with them as well. I booked the room for 4 nights at $109. AFTER I booked I happened to receive an email from another website advertising same hotel /same room/same nights for $99. So I called Priceline back to get only an argument and that it was NOT the same room. So I missed the return call from the agent and just said no worries. Over the weekend I decided to call them back and again email screenshots of the hotel room at $10 cheaper a night. NOT A GO. Still arguing, would not accept that it was the same room. But it was and I could prove it.

After 45 minutes I cancelled my Priceline reservation and went with the other website for $10 cheaper a night. I just called back to further discuss why they do not price match and again argument was disconnected. I called back to speak with a manager and NOW all of a sudden they cannot hear me! I finally just hung up the phone with the notion I will never use them again. They should be ashamed of themselves. NEVER again. OVER $10 a night.

On 7/14/15, I attempted to use the Priceline website to name my own price for a motel room. There were several sections to be completed and it stated that my credit card information would need to be entered prior to being allowed to place a bid and finding out if they would accept my price for a bid on a motel room in Portland, ME for one night. There was a disclaimer page where my initials needed to be entered and the page indicated that my credit card would only be charged if Priceline were to accept my bid. At no point was I given an opportunity to enter a bid and my card was charged $233.00. I immediately, within a minute, called Priceline to tell them that I had not had an opportunity to enter a bid and wanted the transaction removed from my credit card and to have the reservation canceled.

I explained to the first girl that I spoke with that I was not given an opportunity to place a bid and would never have agreed to pay $233 for a motel room. She said that sometimes on mobile devices that the site displayed improperly and this was an ongoing complaint. (This conversation was supposedly recorded according to a message that played prior to me speaking with the associate so this statement can be confirmed.) I explained to the first associate that I was not given an opportunity to name my own price. I explained to the associate that I could have made a reservation for a hotel for $89.00 through my work and would not have paid $233 dollars for a room. I explained that I had planned on naming a $50-$60 dollar bid but was never given the opportunity. I explained that motel rooms in Maine don't cost $233.

The associate said that there was nothing that she could do as I had signed the disclaimer page. I explained to her that the disclaimer page that she was referring to indicated that Priceline still had to accept my bid so I was still of the belief that I would have the opportunity to enter and bid to see if the bid was accepted. She said that there was nothing she could do. I asked to be put through to her supervisor and she said that she could put me through to a different department, but could not put me through to a supervisor.

When I was put through to a different department, the same explanation and conversation happened as had with the prior associate. She too refused to cancel the charged even though I clearly said that the charge had been applied to my card deceptively and their website made the claim that I would be offered the opportunity to name a price and was never given the opportunity. She said that there was nothing that could be done.

I insisted that the transaction had only occurred two minutes prior and was done because their website did not display as it should on a cellular phone and that I wanted the charge fraudulently made to my card to be removed. She refused and I asked to speak with her supervisor and she said that I was not able to be given that person's name, number or put through to the person and that they are only there to do administrative functions and that my only option was to send a letter through the mail as a means of trying to resolve the problem.

I called my bank to ask if they could stop the transaction from processing and they told me they were unable to stop the transaction, but could provide me with information about disputing the charge once it came out of pre-authorization status. I called the motel where the reservation was made through Priceline and they said that they were unable to cancel a reservation that was made through a third party processor, like Priceline. I asked how much a motel room would have cost if I had made it directly through them and they quoted me a price of $159.

In conclusion, the Priceline website never gave me an opportunity to name my own price or place a bid for a motel room. The website deceptively allows it to appear that the option of naming a price will occur after credit card information is entered. The disclaimer page, again, deceptively states that my card would only be charged if Priceline were to accept my bid which I was never given an opportunity to submit. I would not have paid $233 for a motel room when I could have called the motel directly and paid $159 or, better yet, reserved through my work for $89.

The company leaves no opportunity for resolution even though my cell phone records will indicate that I called Priceline within one minute of the charge being fraudulently made to my card to dispute the validity of the claims of their website to allow a customer to place a bid. They also acknowledged that the website does not properly function on a mobile device. I adamantly dispute this very deceptive, fraudulently obtained, purchase made to my card. Should there be any further questions, please dont hesitate to contact me.

Priceline has lost all appeal - NEVER BID on hotels. Here's why. STAR RATINGS ARE NOT ACCURATE: The hotels do not match up to the star ratings. I opted for a 3-star hotel. YES, it had the amenities of a 3-star hotel (pool, conference center, on-site restaurant, etc). but the hotel in reality has such poor reviews and poor maintenance that it should not even be considered a 2-star hotel. This is how Priceline can trick you into purchasing a low-grade hotel, a Days Inn instead of the Marriott you expected.

UNSAFE: The last few hotels I booked were in poor areas, unsafe, loud, drug usage, etc. Definitely do not book through Priceline if you have your family's safety in mind. LOYALTY means nothing: Customer service does not care. QUALITY does not matter: I have been a long-time customer of Priceline. When bidding in the past, I was almost assured a quality nameplate with my booking (Fairfield Inn/ Marriott/ Hyatt, etc). Now, often Priceline will book independent brands that may not have a good reputation in the least.

AMENITIES ARE EXTRA: Consider that many hotels will offer you amenities when you book directly. Book through Priceline, and you will not get breakfast, free internet, or other offers included. FREE BREAKFAST: Now, every hotel that offers a granola bar and coffee (Extended Stay America/ Quality Inn) are included as "free breakfast" under Priceline. Do not be fooled: this is just a morning snack, but should not be listed as a free breakfast at all.

Went to Priceline to "bid" for a car for my trip to Vegas. It accepted my offer of $15/day. I proceeded to purchase but then it changed it to $18/day. I figured that the new price was now the lowest price possible and so I still paid for it knowing that it has this so called "lowest price guarantee." WRONG! It's very misleading. Apparently, this means that (in my case) Hertz has given me their lowest price. I never chose Hertz but that Hertz was the lowest that they could get. After doing a little research, I found out that Firefly and Fox car rentals were cheaper, $14/day and $17/day respectively for the exact time and days, location, and type of cars.

I figured I would get the price difference. WRONG AGAIN. After trying to reach PL via telephone thru their website, I could never talk to a live person. I proceeded to chat with someone online and was given a number to call. I finally did talk to a PL customer service rep and as all the reviewers stated, they don't do a thing to rectify this situation. Their explanation was a shoddy one. They guarantee the lowest price for only that one company (Hertz). WTF! It's a sham. I will try the BBB to see if they can review Priceline's wording on their ads.

I booked a reservation through Priceline for a single night in a small city in Michigan. I had already called another hotel there directly and they were booked and said it was a busy weekend, so fearing I might not get a room I went through Priceline to find other accommodations. I found another hotel on their website that had just changed from being a Holiday Inn to Baymont and I saw the price was very high -- $176 plus taxes and fees for a single night. But thinking rooms might be a premium I booked it. When I arrived at the hotel, I spoke with a person there while checking in and asked if any discount might be allowed, like AARP or AAA. The person said that could not be allowed because I had booked through a third party.

I asked what my room would have cost if I had simply called them and booked directly through them, and she told me with the discount I would have paid $98 plus taxes and fees. I was of course outraged and called Priceline on my return home. Their customer relations person was of no help at all, did not care about my outrage that I had been gauged by porcelain. He simply kept repeating that I was given the best price online. So that's the trick they play on the consumer -- they state they are offering the lowest price ONLINE. That doesn't meant the lowest price and so I would encourage consumers to never book through Priceline or any other on the internet services, because they gauge the public. Call a hotel directly and book through them.

Sharing what I sent to corporate with 0 response from them: My fiance and I were trying to celebrate our anniversary in Atlantic City. We booked a room a month in advance under his name. We got an email at noon saying our credit card wasn't working so we updated the payment method at 2:22 pm. We blew a tire 10 minutes from the hotel, called the hotel to let them know our situation, they assured us it was okay. Then 20 minutes later, they call us to tell us they are canceling our reservation due to not having a valid credit card on file by 6 pm and then he hung up on me.

I don't care about Priceline telling me it is the hotel's fault. I work in a call center and one of the sacred rules is to accept ownership of whatever the customer is calling about. Except when I called Priceline/Booking, they told me that it wasn't their fault and no one offered to re-accommodate us. They instead sent us an email of an available room elsewhere more than double the cost. We were hundreds of miles from home with nowhere to stay. We then found another place on Priceline under my name. We were able to book, but when we showed up, the clerk said there were no vacancies. He did not offer any alternative at all. Just said it was impossible that I could have made the reservation when there were no rooms available.

Needless to say, we were panicking. The worst of it all is that I WAS STILL CHARGED FOR THE ROOM, which left me with no money for the remainder of the trip. We had to stay in a sketchy motel with bedbugs. I need Priceline to make up for this. This was the most terrifying and devastating weekend of my life. It was supposed to be a celebration of love with my future husband. I will continue to reach out to Priceline, and make myself heard until someone makes up for this tragic weekend. 20% isn't going to cut it. Your escalation team refused to help me. They left me with no choice but to take some deal that was useless to me during the weekend since they couldn't find other accommodations for me either. If I don't hear anything back after pouring my heart out, I will share my experience with the world so that maybe I can save someone else from the devastation that my fiance and I had to endure. Then I went online and used Kayak.com to buy a ticket from another airline for a much better flight at almost half the price. Use Kayak.com folks! I wished I had used Kayak.com in the first place and dealt directly with the airline. I don't work for Kayak but heard about it several years ago from someone who worked there at the time. There are too many middlemen with Priceline and I am glad I did not buy the insurance after the horror stories I have heard about travel insurance in general. He said that the pictures were from an old booking.com listing. He explained to my son that a travel agency on the island was booking his hotel without having any kind of relationship with his hotel. My son then had to scramble to get another more expensive hotel.

When I called Priceline they had the audacity to tell me my son never showed up for the reservation so I was not entitled to a refund even though my son has pictures of the hotel that matched the one on the site. They seemed very unconcerned that their site was being used by con artists. After a whole day spent on the phone, mostly being put on hold, they finally gave me my refund but chose to do so in a threatening manner.

My son has incurred extra expenses because of this to say nothing of the stress this caused him. Thank goodness that they were only two people so they could find another hotel but what if you had booked this hotel for two weeks with your family. Then you would have really been in trouble. And Priceline would not care one bit. Their customer service is non-existent and the way they handle complaints is unprofessional and sub-standard. I think that is a scam but that is a separate issue. I ended up using their tool to simply buy a room at a reduced rate. All seemed well till I checked my paypal transactions the other day. I saw 3 charges and one credit for the amount of the room. So, it appears I was charged twice. I contacted Priceline about this and they said that they charge the card for an authorization when you place a bid and then remove it if you don't get the deal. It may take up to 3 days for the charge to be removed.

So I faxed several pages showing the charges to my paypal account and when these charges were applied (June 18th and 19th). They replied saying that they can only see one charge and that the other authorization should be removed after 3 or 4 days. Obviously, these people do not have a brain. I asked them to escalate this matter to the next level to get it resolved or I will take the issue to Paypal customer support. As I started reading over the itinerary I noticed that It had changed my departure city from Seattle to San Francisco! I was terrified. So I immediately called to cancel and explained what happened. They would only give a partial refund.

For 4 tickets they refunded $728 and charged over $1000 penalty. I explained that I do not know how it changed from Seattle to San Francisco and they would only say there is nothing they can do. Unless I book a new reservation through them they would refund me the difference minus $30 fee for each ticket. So I booked again and they did refund the money minus the $30 per ticket. I asked them about their price match guarantee and I was told I have until 24 hours before I FLY to call back if I find a lower price.

So here it is now 2 weeks after I bought the new itinerary, but 3 weeks before I fly out, and prices have dropped $64 per ticket. I called them to get my price match guarantee, and they lied again. Now they say it is within 24 hours of BOOKING. That is not what they told me, and It does not say that on the website. Other travel websites don't charge a fee either. After booking my trip I noticed a $7 processing fee. Really. After the money they have already charged me, they are going to throw in a $7 fee.

Apparently you can never cancel a reservation if you make a mistake. My husband made a "Name Your Price" deal without knowing I had already reserved a car. I asked to cancel it and they can not because of their "policies". They said that because they are usually such "good prices", they can not do it. Well their "good price" was over $130 more than what I paid on Orbitz. Thankfully Orbitz let me cancel my car reservation without a penalty. My business will go there from now on. Lesson learned.

I had a choice to book multiple hotel rooms in Las Vegas via Priceline. I selected one hotel, The Linq because it offered a special coupon for buying a 2 for the price of 1 helicopter deal. After I purchased the package, I chatted with someone at Priceline on how to obtain the coupon, and she said it was only for select rooms. Priceline does not tell you that your room is not one of the special rooms for the promotion. I purchased the package, and did not get the coupon. Very disappointed. I contacted Priceline by phone this time, and there is nothing they are willing to do to make this situation right. This is a classic bait and switch situation. Be cautious in any business you do with Priceline. All I wanted was the coupon or a different hotel room, but they would do nothing to correct the situation. They are not customer centric at all.

I made arrangements via the Priceline.com website for hotel arrangements with certain requests of breakfast, parking and swimming pool on premises and that these services be free. I requested a 2.5 star hotel because I was on a budget and traveling with 2 children ages 2 & 11. I pre-paid with a credit card for the arrangements. The services were non-refundable.

What I received was a hotel that had not of the items requested listed or available. The breakfast was super high, for even a bowl of cereal, parking was 28.00 a day and no pool! I called the chat line since we arrived for check in at 10pm. This was much too late to change or question about the parking. Calling the chat line resulted in... "Oh well you have a great hotel!" Did I mention that the view is of a brick wall & alley? Never mind that none of the requested items were received but the billing is non-refundable. Instead I was told to read the contract. "We don't guarantee that you will get what you ask for, just a room somewhere." With that attitude, who needs Priceline?

I am in Nebraska going through cancer treatments. After having chemo yesterday I booked a flight and car for my husband to come see me (we live in Florida) for a day then drive to S.D where his 83 year old mother is having surgery for thyroid cancer. Chemo messes with my brain so when it came to the car portion of the reservation for some reason I entered my name instead of my husband's. I tried calling immediately, both Priceline and Alamo. Never could get anyone. So this morning I called again. Alamo said that because it was booked through Priceline I needed to contact them.

After a 40 minute hold I was told sorry nothing they could do but cancel the reservation. I of course asked to speak to a supervisor. The rep rudely said "I don't think you understand what I'm telling you". Well after repeating that right back to him he put me on hold for a "supervisor" which went as well. I am 42 and going through chemo for the 3rd time. Now during my sickest period I have to find a ride, drive 3 hours to pick up the car, pay extra to "add him" as a driver. I realize that this is my error but I'm not asking for anything for free just some customer service. WHAT HAPPENED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE??? My concern was that room charge DIRECTLY from the Sheraton was only $76.00 per night NOT $109.00. So, I called Priceline CS to claim a "Price Match" refund of the difference in prices. To make it short, Priceline's rep told me that the difference is their profit margin and he would not refund any funds, and he AGREED with me that instead of SAVING UP TO 60%, I PAID 143%. I booked a hotel reservation with an Express Deal and it states that all rooms are guaranteed for double occupancy, meaning two adults, which I admittedly did not pay much attention to (so yes that part is my fault). So when I got the hotel information from Priceline I see they booked me with a hotel that does not offer double beds. Since my children are accompanying me on the trip, I wanted to know if I could have a hotel that offered double beds, as I do not want to have to sleep in the same bed as my children for the entire vacation. Priceline stated no. They kept quoting their "Double Occupancy Policy" and stated there was nothing they can do to accommodate my party because I agreed to the terms. They refused to transfer me to another hotel with additional bed or room options and only offered that I could pay to get a third room. I think it's ridiculous for any hotel or website to assume that two or more people who travel together would want to share a bed.

And Priceline's attitude is "well we did our part and gave you a room, who cares if it fits your needs, deal with it!!!" I now see why you have to agree to their terms and conditions blindly before getting all the details, because it allows them the ability to screw you! With so much competition out there, I would think Priceline would want to have satisfied customers. I'd used Priceline in the past with a few issues but after this I will NEVER use it again. Priceline works with just five car rental companies. If you book your car anywhere other than Priceline, all five of these companies allow spouses to drive the vehicle at no extra charge. For Priceline bookings, the companies apply different policies and charge an extra daily fee for spouses. On a recent 7-day rental at O'Hare, I thought I had saved about $50 by booking through Priceline rather than using any other OTA site.

When I arrived at Hertz, they wanted an additional $13/day for my spouse. With taxes and fees, that would come out to about $25/day. On a 7-day rental, that would be $175 extra. Rather than succumbing to this abuse, I simply left my wife off the contract. I guess Hertz would prefer to have a tired driver operating their vehicle rather than allowing a spouse to share the driving duties? I should point out that on a previous Priceline car booking in Houston, National allowed my wife to drive at no extra charge. However, there is no assurance that other companies will do so. Consequently, I will never use Priceline for car rentals when traveling with my spouse.

I have read many reviews of Priceline on this site, and I must say that nearly all the complaints were from customers who simply neglected to read the rules before making a reservation. All "Name Your Own Price" reservations are non-refundable. You would have to be blind to go through their booking process without realizing this, especially since you must initial the box that says you understand these rules, and there are at least two other pop-ups reminding you before you actually make the reservation. Priceline definitely has some weaknesses, but you should not blame them for your own mistakes in either neglecting to read the big bold print, or forgetting that you agreed to the terms.

I have scored some really good deals on Priceline, but there is a trade-off for those low prices. Most notably, the reservation cannot be changed, refunded, or transferred. While there is considerable room for improvement at Priceline, these basic terms are fundamental to their business model, and you really cannot make a "Name Your Own Price" reservation without knowing this.

There are several things that you should know when booking through Priceline. For rent cars, Priceline charges a fee of $7 per day. They do not state this anywhere on the website; it is just lumped together with "taxes and fees." Of course, there is nothing wrong with Priceline assessing a fee, but you should know about these fees when comparing your bid to what you could get with a risk-free fully-cancellable reservation through Expedia, Travelocity, or directly with the car company. For example, if the best price you find elsewhere is $45/day, then do not bother bidding $40/day at Priceline, because you are actually paying more with the hidden fees. I often use Priceline for car rentals when I am traveling on business, but I always make sure that my bid is at least $10/day lower than what I can find elsewhere, and preferably $15 less.

Another weakness of Priceline is that hotels are only guaranteed to sleep 2 people. At most U.S. hotels, your can choose a King or a double/double for the same price, but I have encountered a hotel booked through Priceline where they wanted to charge me extra for a double/double, which was almost as much as the price of the room we booked. As with the Hertz story above, this is another example of a vendor treating Priceline bookings differently from other bookings. So, once again, I will use Priceline for hotels when traveling alone on business, but I will not use them for family trips, because I have no idea if the room will accommodate our family of four.

Another problem with hotel bookings through Priceline is that you have no way of knowing if parking, internet, or breakfast are included with your hotel. Depending on the location and star level, these items can add up to $30-100 per day. If you are shopping for hotels on Expedia or another OTA, you can account for these differences when you are comparing your options. Finally, because "Name Your Own Price" bookings cannot be refunded, cancelled, or changed, I never make a Priceline booking more than a couple days out, when I am certain that there will be no changes in my travel plans.

I bid on a hotel reservation for Torrington, Ct for one night. Before doing so, I read the directions in "Step 3: Choose the star level for your hotel." For the "2-Star Moderate" it listed accommodations such as Comfort Inn, Best Western, Ramada, Holiday Inn, Homestead, and La Quinta. For the "1-Star Economy" designation, it listed Roadway Inn, Red Roof Inn, Econo Lodge, and Super 8. I did not want the Rodeway Inn (there is only one in the Torrington area), so I bid for a 2-Star hotel/motel. Much to my shock, my bid was accepted for the Rodeway Inn! I understand that generally there are no changes permitted after bids have been accepted, but thought this would surely be an exception since this resulted from a Priceline error.

I telephoned immediately and eventually was put through to a customer relations representative who was polite but insisted that nothing could be done since all bids were final and the listings under "2-Star" and "1-Star" hotels were only illustrative examples. I wrote to the executive offices of Priceline and after several days received a similar polite reply. The fact that Priceline listed "Rodeway Inn" as a "1-Star" motel and that there is only one in that area would seem to be conclusive evidence that this was more than simply an "illustrative example." The fact that Priceline has refused to make any accommodation for its clear error is, I think, both arrogant and possibly deliberately fraudulent.

Did the click to speak and was given a number to call. First person did not respond on the phone. Went back to click to chat attempted to speak with that person. Was given the number to click to receive a call again.

Spoke with a person told me it would be 5 to 7 days for my funds to be released. Then was transferred to customer relations. Informed that I had to deal with my bank but in most cases again I have to wait for my funds to be released. Then was informed to please hold while they contact the bank. Asked why my card was declined and was informed that it was due to my number being incorrect. Asked how this is possible, was not given any explanation, even though my bank informed me they had approved this transaction. Note to all: No refunds or exchanges unless you pay the added fee. By the time I realized the Priceline scam that they were sell rooms for the July 4th weekend, it was too late. I ended up paying for the room twice for my room on June 20th because of their no cancellation/no change reservation policy. I called Priceline to receive only an automated response, and I called the hotel they told me to call Priceline. Priceline is cheating and stealing money. I will NEVER use Priceline again. When I reached the car rental location, it was closed!! It says on the counter that they are closed from 2:00 AM to 5:00 AM. I don't understand why Priceline booked my car from this place when the location is closed at the time. I called Priceline and I was advised to wait and then they said, "If you can't wait then take a rental from another car rental company for the same period and class of car", and they will pay for the difference. And if I chose to wait they will look into compensate me. Based on Priceline rep advise, I went ahead checked at AVIS - the only location open at the time (National was open but had no cars available).

AVIS quoted me around $1300. Almost $1000 more than the Hertz. I chose not to take it and wait for two reason: The AVIS quote was ridiculously high and I wasn't sure Priceline will actually come through on their commitment since the difference is $1000. I picked my car from Hertz after 5:00AM - of course I didn't sleep the whole night. I got call from Priceline rep next day regarding my complaint and she assured this will be looked into. Next an email: I get $25 bonus cash for my next car rental with Priceline... Really!!! are you kidding me! Why would I book car rental with you again? No explanation from Priceline yet and joke for compensation. I am not booking through Priceline again.

On April 4, 2015 I made a reservation for Travelodge San Antonio through Priceline. My reservation date was scheduled for June 27 2015. When searching for a hotel, I chose Non-smoking under the "amenities" column because I would be traveling with my young children and I am a non smoker. I then proceeded to book a room at the Travelodge.

On June 25th, I was reviewing my Itinerary and noticed then I had chosen a SMOKING room. I called the hotel to ask if I could be put in a non smoking room and was told the reservation was my fault and that I would need to contact Priceline because she could not change the reservation without confirmation from Priceline, and all I had to do was call them and they would call her and she could change it and there were non smoking rooms available. (I have worked in a hotel for many years and am well aware that all that is needed to do this is a notation to the reservation. There have been instances where people have showed up, been double booked and needed to move rooms. It is completely possible and at the hotel's discretion.)

But I decided not to argue, I then called Priceline to go through the entire change. After waiting on hold for Priceline to speak with the hotel, they informed me that I could not change the room and there were no rooms available. BUT WAIT, the desk clerk just told me that they could do it!! I was then offered a refund, which I did not want. All I wanted was to keep my reservation, switch to an AVAILABLE non smoking room and take my daughter to a concert that she had saved all of her money to pay for. But what I got was "It's your fault that OUR website clearly stated non smoking but then listed a smoking room."

When I asked to speak to anyone in charge, the lady from Priceline said she would refund me, I asked again to speak to someone in charge and she spewed out a refund confirmation number. I hung up, NEVER agreeing to a refund but received a refund confirmation email within 10 mins. I called back to the hotel because I was furious that I now had no hotel in a town booked full for this concert. I asked to leave a message for the manager to have them call me back. I knew I was speaking to the same employee and asked to only speak to the manager about my issue. She then progressed to yelling at me that it was my own fault for "not knowing how to read a hotel listing!" Yes she said that.

I then explained to her that I would never have spoken to a customer that way and that I would only speak with her manager. She continued to yell over me. Finally she said she would call him and he might call me back. I have never spoken to so many rude people over one very small issue. There have been multiple times that I have come across this issue and never ever have I responded in such a way. Truly Dreadful customer service on both ends.

I have been holding off for awhile because I noticed this price would fluctuate daily. So today I finally saw a price that I thought was outstanding! The total cost of the airfare and a car would be LESS than the airfare only. So I tried booking it. I failed the first 2 times (it rejected the offer), but then I told myself "Third time is a charm," and the third time it accepted my offer!

I was really hesitant to do this because I've read some horror stories about people getting charged extra, etc. It takes a lot of patience to monitor the price changes everyday, but it was totally worth it when I was able to do it. I had other options (like Orbitz) but the prices on Orbitz was at least $100 more for each ticket. I would recommend this to anyone out there who wants to save a lot of money. I tried this in the past with just bidding on the airfare price, and it also worked out very well that time (my airfare to Oahu was less than $400). You just have to be aware of what you want to pay (and be reasonable - no LOWBALLING!) and then be patient enough to wait for the right time to bid. Good luck, Everyone! :-)

Bought the ticket from priceline.com for XIAMEN AIRLINES (XA). In my e-ticket, states that baggage fee is not included in my ticket. I contact their customer service since: (1) XA is a full-service airlines, so I assume the baggage is included; (2) other booking web states that ticket included 20 kg checked baggage; (3) when booking, PRICELINE.COM did not mention if we should purchase the baggage like low cost airlines.

They ask me to check the baggage policy in their web, but it direct me to check for XA website directly - and I did, and find that their baggage is included or it is FREE. So I contact PRICELINE.COM again and ask them why they put that statement (that the baggage is not included) - what is that mean? They told me to check with the airlines directly. And I told her I did, and find out that it is FREE regarding XA web. But why your ticket state otherwise? I don't want any problem at the airport.

The CS keep telling me to check with the airlines, call the airlines. I told her that XA does not have representative office in my country, I have to call to China,

and I told her I cannot speak Chinese. At the end, the CS said that means the baggage is not FREE, I need to pay for the checked-in baggage. If that is the answer, why ask me to check to XA website for the baggage regulation from the first? If the ticket purchased from PRICELINE.COM is not include check-in baggage, I would not buy it from the first. I prefer buying from any other web that states everything clearly.

PRICELINE.COM price is only $5 cheaper than other web. But apparently, it hides many other costs (I do not expect any other costs, but have to be prepared since everything is not clear). But the bottom point is, I prefer buying from any other seller, who is responsible and willing to help confused customer, not only ask the customer to call to here and there. Our family has been using Priceline for about three years now, in hopes of finding solid travel deals. My wife and I travel monthly for assignments, which require us to choose accommodations on the fly. Our very first experience with Priceline was positive. We stayed at a brand new hotel outside Denver, CO, and although we had some issues with the flight (cramped, loud), the hotel was clean, the hotel staff was professional, and we enjoyed the time we spent there. We assumed that our future Priceline travels would be the same. We were dead wrong.

On our next trip we drove south 12 hours, and on our way back rented space in the same city as our state's main airport due to the fact prices for those hotels were a bit lower than those in the main city itself. We always select on our Priceline page "free parking," and "free Internet," and confirmed these were offered at the hotel before we purchased our package. We arrived at the hotel just after midnight, and after parking over a fifteen minute walk away from the hotel main entrance (giant parking lot), arrived at the main desk to a condescending, sneering clerk who gladly announced that we would be charged an additional significant fee for parking in the hotel parking lot. I pointed out to him that we'd confirmed the facility had free parking, but he wouldn't budge. Worse, he was just so smug and acidic that we chose to leave the hotel and drive the final four hours back home.

There were a series of lackluster experiences after the above, but since we're so tired on arriving at a hotel, we begrudgingly accepted the dirty, noisy rooms and then happily leave in the very early morning before their office staff has even arrived. But two nights ago for Father's Day, when my wife was away on work, I drove down to visit our daughter in the state south of ours. The morning of my return I rented a room that Priceline's savings-search had chosen for me. I accepted the offer, assuming Priceline had vetted the facility it does business with. But when I arrived, the hotel guests were playing music so loudly and so heavy in bass that my SUV shook while I was still inside. I spoke with the front desk staff, but all they'd do is assure me that by 10PM (quiet time) the noise would be gone.

I arrived at the hotel (Travelodge, Centralia, WA 98531) after 6PM, but my room hadn't even been cleaned. Worse, on getting up to the room, I discovered flies everywhere, a broken window blind (no privacy, as the window leads out to the street and a concrete walkway common to all the rooms), foul smelling blankets and pillows, and, excuse the graphic description, a toilet bowl still stained from a previous guest's last bowel movement. The bathroom was disgusting. All night long my "non-smoking" room was pervaded with smoke by the people sitting just outside my room, smoking, in between their shouting matches and scuffles.

The traffic on the main road was absurd -- with thudding stereo systems, souped-up motorcycles and trucks and cars blaring up and down the road incessantly. It was like spending the night at a race-car track. I never felt safe in my room, never dared to enter the unsanitary bathroom, and slept uncomfortably in my clothes atop the reeking blankets, waiting for dawn by when, I hoped, the rowdy crowd would dissipate. Priceline informed me there was nothing I could do, as there was no cancellation or alteration of the purchase. The agent suggested I speak with a "customer relations specialist." And the hotel staff was just as unhelpful, snidely reminding me that my purchase was non-refundable.

Well, today is Monday & I've been on the phone with Priceline representatives for over three hours. Each one has told me there is no Priceline supervisor whom to escalate the issue to, that the purchase is final on my online confirmation, and that I have absolutely no other option besides paying the bill. So in essence, you don't know WHICH hotel Priceline is offering you a deal on, you cannot see the conditions until you arrive at the facility, no one at Priceline has checked that the facilities are safe or basically sanitary, yet still you're wholly responsible for the payment.

And if you search online, you'll find plenty of disgruntled ex-Priceline customers, whose ranks we now join. Why on earth would someone choose to stay somewhere he or she has no idea about IN ADVANCE -- a place Priceline itself recommends -- other than because he/she feels secure in the added protection being a Priceline customer brings to the purchase procedure? We're filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the office of our state's Attorney General. In the meanwhile, be forewarned. Priceline will do NOTHING to help you if you happen to be suckered into unsafe, unsanitary, inhospitable lodgings. As a final note, there's an online group trying to get a class action lawsuit together against Priceline for unfair business practices, among other reasons. Our family will be participating.

We use Priceline for almost all our travels. My husband accidentally booked a flight in the evening versus the morning. They tell me the penalty fees of the airline, plus their penalty fee, plus the difference in ticket is more than purchasing a brand new ticket at a higher price. So Priceline tells me to call the airline - they will be able to make the change cheaper. The airline says it's Priceline.

I placed a bid on a rent a car. What happened next instead of rejecting my bid because it was too low the site accepts it but gives you a much higher rate and only after you give them your credit card number it gives you a total which was 50% higher than I expected. And I called them to cancel it but they said it was a special discounted rate and I can't change anything. That's their policy.

We purchased 3 tickets through Priceline to return home from cruise. The only ticket available was not a direct flight. We chose the earliest we could make in order to get home as early as possible. The schedule changed three times and kept arriving later and later. We called Priceline to try and get an earlier arrival into our home airport. The Priceline representative told me he could get us on another flight that got in a little earlier even though the airline had direct flights available at that time. He said he couldn't help me and to change to a direct flight would cost us $200.00 per ticket as well as a $30.00 service fee. I then called the airline and spoke to one of their reps. She was very pleasant and told me there would be no problem and got us on a direct flight even earlier than the Priceline ticket. I will not be using Priceline for any travel services again.

They reserved rooms in a fleabag hotel at the perimeter of what they call a gray area that surrounds my dentist. The hotel was so far away it would be impossible to make my several complex dental procedures. Priceline refused to cancel my reservations. They immediately submitted the bill to my credit card company. Priceline refused to even discuss the situation and refused to try for a better solution. The website operators are automatons who obviously parrot a prepared script. Priceline is terrible. I will never use them again. I do not like being "surprised" with a hotel when I bid because a reviewer rating of barely 7 doesn't indicate a true 3-star hotel. The hotel was very dated and worn and the pool was dirty. BUT the worse part was that there was no do not disturb sign in our room and since check out was said to be 11 am I just "assumed" that we would be left alone until at least 10 am. NOPE. 8 am cleaning is pounding on our door and opening it on us. My children had not slept well being in a new place that wasn't as clean as our home so I was letting them sleep in since they finally were sleeping, especially my son with epilepsy. Sleep deprivation causes his seizures and of course these women caused that.

I called the front desk to complain and was told to put the "invisible" sign out but they would handle it. 10 minutes later a cleaning woman WALKED INTO THE ROOM! My son had just gone to sleep! Less than an hour later he had a seizure! Horrible bite on his tongue, blood everywhere and the cleaning lady that took the linens later acted like we were aliens! Rude! Then the front desk man was rude when I turned in the key. I was forced into a bad situation by the "bid on the unseen" policy of Priceline. When I did their online chat their agent, **, ended the conversation as soon as I told him what was wrong! APATHY. Just give them your money but don't expect any help or honesty.

However, when trying to book same hotel thru Expedia, Orbitz, and Hotels.com, they did not have this fee in their final price. Ended up paying more for the room. Priceline is deceptive in that they only identify the fee after you book when you cannot change your mind or get a refund. Likewise Priceline's response was deceptive. This is just another version of a bait and switch routine. The State Attorney General of my state needs to look into these deceptive practices.

I booked a last minute flight home through Priceline to get to my Grandfather's funeral. Upon booking on my smartphone I got the "Congratulations You've Got a Ticket" prompt with a ticket number saying that I will be receiving a confirmation email with more details for my flight...I never received the confirmation email. Knowing that I was going home I looked at what time my flight left and made sure I was on that flight and made sure to check the flight getting back to Phoenix as well. When arriving at PHX I went to check into US Airways and was told that there wasn't a reservation for me, after doing some searching they were able to find me and I was on my way home. The check-in process for my flight home was not as easy as double checking to make sure I had a reservation.

I arrived at CHO (Charlottesville VA) at 5:30 AM to catch my flight to Dallas through US Airways as I was notified on my 'Congrats' page from Priceline. Thinking it was odd that I still never got the email from them, but I didn't think anything of it. When I went to check in at US Airways I was notified that I didn't have a reservation, I asked her to check again because I had this same exact problem when I checked in at PHX. She triple checked and let me know that my itinerary had been cleared with them. A little irritated at this point I called Priceline's Customer Service Helpline to try to get some answers.

The first lady that I spoke with was a little less than rude to me on the phone, and offered me a flight out the next day at 5am which I explained to her I couldn't do because of work that I needed to get to Phoenix the same day. After speaking with her, I asked to speak to her Supervisor. I got to speak with **, who was a little more than rude to me on the phone. Explaining to him the whole situation about why I needed the flight home so quickly and how jumbled everything in my head was, I told him that I remembered seeing me leaving on the US Airways flight out of CHO to IAD at 6:55am to then connect from IAD to Chicago and from Chicago to PHX...how would I know the flight left at 6:55 if I hadn't seen that before?

Well ** informed me that I should have known that I was on the United Airways flight at 6:15 to Charlotte NC...he then offered me the same flight out the next day or to pay $230 in additional fees to fly out the same day and get home to PHX. After spending $850 on the tickets I was more than hesitant to spend any more money to change a flight that I never even knew I was supposed to be on. I then said 'Fine, I'll pay it. When can I leave?' For him to tell me that there were no flights available that same day (June 13, 2015) that I would have to wait until the next day. So I asked him if I could take the free flight he had offered to me 15 minutes earlier for him to tell me that he never offered me a free flight and he can't offer something like that to me that I would need to speak with the airline.

I did just that. I got a flight home, and was in PHX 5 hours later than I should have been but got there the same day. I WILL NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH PRICELINE AGAIN! I will tell everyone I know not to do business with Priceline. The way their "Customer Service Team" speaks to their customers is flat out RUDE. I did apologize to the man I spoke with because I was frustrated and I got a little hot headed. But, having worked in customer service for a LIVING I know better than to treat someone the way I was treated.

We booked a hotel through Priceline, in Salem Oregon, for three nights and was charged $503.97 to our credit card. When we checked out we got the itemized statement showing the charges and found out the hotel charge for the room for three nights came to $399.74. I asked the gal that checked us out about the price, thinking they got it wrong and was told that the third night was discounted to $71.20 plus tax, instead of 151.20, plus tax, since we had stayed three nights. I called Priceline to check on this and wanted to know if it was a mistake on their part and if we could get it adjusted and was informed that the amount they charged us was correct and we should talk to the hotel. I explained to them the hotel was not the one charging us $503.97.

Priceline would do nothing about adjusting the prices. Whatever discounts the hotel may give to you is not passed on by Priceline. Will never do business with them again. The majority of these hotels will have an 800 number. After finding out what Priceline is charging call the hotel and see what it will cost. Priceline made little over a hundred dollars because I figured they were getting me a good deal. That will never happen again.

I searched Google for car rental in Cabo, Mexico. Priceline came up so I clicked on their link. Their offer was $30 per week for a Dollar rental car in Cabo. This looked cheap - but I thought it was likely that they has surplus inventory or this was similar to their auction offers. When I arrived at Cabo I went to the Dollar/Thrifty counter and was directed to their van outside where my name was waiting. They drove me the 1+ mile to their pavilion and I went in to pickup my car. This was similar to what happens at LAX and many other airports. I was shocked when the man demanded first $820, then $770 and finally $640 EXTRA for "insurance" before they would give me the car. They would not give me my booking unless I paid the amount 22X the Priceline quotation. Please consider that I was now miles from the terminal in the Mexican desert with 3 pieces of luggage and the temperature was more than 90F!

In the end it all turned out to be a rip-off. If I wanted the Priceline booking I had to pay the EXTRA $640 (22 X the Priceline contract!!!). I called Priceline and they confirmed this and again in an on-line chat. SO - in the end the Priceline offer was a scam to rip me off. I reserved a room for $67+taxes with the option of making changes or canceling. When I received my confirmation email, the price was different so I was wondering why. It didn't give me the option to make changes or cancel. I called AAA, no help. I called the hotel and they said they can cancel without penalty but I was needing to call Priceline. I asked "what does Priceline have to do with it?" That's who AAA uses.

So I called Priceline, and talked to a supervisor and he said that he can't change it because of contract. He said they would have to pay the hotel anyways in the event of a cancellation. I told him that is not the package I purchased and that the website had an error and it defaulted to the other package to where I can't cancel therefore they are guaranteed to get paid. I called the hotel back and they said "that's not right." If I cancelled, hotel would not charge. So therefore that means Priceline would keep all the money. I made two bookings in the same hotel for consecutive days. For one booking Priceline mentioned explicitly that I would have to pay the resort fee separately at the hotel. In the other booking, where the hotel charges were much higher, there was no mention that I would need to pay the resort fee at the hotel, so I assumed that resort fee was paid upfront and that is why the hotel charges were higher. In fact when I was doing the booking, resort fee was mentioned explicitly against some other hotels but not against this one.

This is a clear misrepresentation on Priceline's part. If they had put terms and conditions properly and clearly, I would have not booked this hotel or probably would have booked some other hotel. The fact that they are presenting terms and conditions of different bookings absolutely differently adds to the confusion. I am attaching both the receipts. In one it is clearly mentioned that I would have to pay resort fee and in other one, nothing is mentioned, except in some small fine print, provided you go and click to some obscure page.

We booked a hotel recently here in Denver through them and had a bad experience. The room was full of ants and smelled like urine. We had kids with us so I wasn't staying in that room and requested another one. Then the next room was the same way with a non-working toilet. So the front desk comes to us with a key to another room and says they can't fix it and that we have to go to another room to use the bathroom. I have kids and am not going to walk back and forth to another room in the middle of the night with kids. So lesson learned, do not book rooms with those options or you never know.

Very very rude. And then I asked them who I would talk to for my question. They said no one is able to answer my questions until after I book and then asked me to close the chat window. How rude.

When I needed to change my departure time, I called trip protection insurance. They tried to find reasons not to help modify the departure date or reimburse the new airfare. The new airfare from same airline Alaska is now 3 times more. So I have to buy a new one way ticket from Delta which is half of Alaska airfare to go out. But the Alaska canceled the entire trip, not just departure flight. No refund. Priceline was not helping at all. The lesson is buy directly from airlines, separate one ways, don't use middleman Priceline or waste money on insurance.

I am having a terrible experience with Priceline and I haven't even stayed at the hotel yet, so I don't know if the experience will get worse. After receiving my itinerary with the hotel name, I researched the hotel. The hotel's website lists the room for the same dates for only $9 more. That is not worth the inability to change/cancel the reservation and the inability to research the hotel before booking. Then I read reviews about the hotel which were mixed, but a lot of negative. I emailed Priceline about these frustrations and their response showed no concern for customer satisfaction. They stated that they make no claim of a minimum savings and they considered an overall rating of 6.3 out of 10 to be good. No matter how many stars a hotel is, I do not consider anything less than an 8 to be good. That's 63% satisfaction. On a test, 63% is close to a fail.

This motel was a complete dump, the owner a man from East India who was beyond rude and gave me and my travel companion nothing but grief upon our check in. There was no internet access and yet we were charged 11.90 for internet access that was not even approved. I am a customer who is looking for hotel in Hawaii for our family trip. Through the massive web searching, I heard about Priceline which can allow customer to bid for the price they want. So, couple of these days I tried to bid 4-stars resort in certain area with my own price. Something happened today, as I attached the photo taken just before I completed the offer, it's shown $90 of resort fees aside from the price for night and tax. It was very pleasant information, because the hotel I wish to be booked has same amount of resort fee among two 4-stars hotel (Hilton hawaiian Village and Prince hotel) in same area. I was hooked because Hilton was my target hotel. But the result was ridiculous, it was the Price hotel which doesn't have any resort fees unlikely the preview page as the attached photo.

I knew that Priceline bidding is not cancellable and blind the exact hotel name and informations. However, it's definitely different between don't give any informations and giving fraudulent information. If they just blind the information about resort fees whether it actually going to be charged or not in every bidding situations until it's finalized, then I could understand. But give wrong and fraudulent information is definitely their fault. I would never made my decision and click the final button if there was no $90 resort fee shown.

I didn't have any intend to book or make my price for an offer in uncertainness. If they didn't give me wrong information, I wouldn't even choose the bidding at all. Instead I would go other hotel website can give me the certainty which let me know the hotel or resort I clearly looking for. For this reason I asked to cancel it, but they said no! It's really unfair and they're fraudulent. There was trip protection option that allow to cancel with $5 per night, it was only for customer in USA. It's kind of discrimination option. A lot of international customers wish to use this option too and to be protected from this kind of situation. Moreover, when I contacted the agent in Priceline by chat with this incident and requested to cancel, he or she just said over and over about their non-refund policy. And finally just leave the chatting with goodbye.

It's very poor customer service and they didn't try to make their best. How come I have to be suffered from this ridiculous situation. They have to refund if it's clearly their fault. But, they choose to leave just like that! How can possibly believe and protect myself those kind of fraudulent. So I want to claim what they have done for me and again want to ask them to cancel. In addition, I wish that trip protection option can be allowed to choose for future international customer as well.

This company is worst than mobsters, they get a hundred percent of your cash for nothing. Or they should put it in big letters and make you agree that you will not be able to receive a refund. I am ashamed to admit that I did not consider how the implications would affect me. I explained to them I had to change the dates of the vacation package (Hotel, Flight, and Rental car) that was purchased within the last 24 hours by me. The flight date was 8 days away. I include this for your consideration. This package was bought with a little research for the best price available. It wasn't a trip I could properly prepare for and the urgency of the date came at a tough financial time for my household. But the package had to be bought as soon as possible.

There was not one possible thing that I could imagine would impact this purchase that I bought in confidence. The stay was set for a four day period around a specific date regarding my father. I received a call today and was advised by my father the date was pushed back by 6 days. So I contacted Priceline's customer service expressing the urgency of my situation and that I need to push my flight back 6 days. The next half hour on the phone with two representatives and an Internet chat representative, was an eye opener of such an over reach of charges, but also a company that fundamentally has no concern for its customers. I felt like I signed a contract with a loan shark. I bought what they offered to me by me entering a few details. But I was not only advised that I could not get the dates changed, but I could not cancel the package for a full refund. $100 to the airlines and $15 to the rental company as cancelation fees.

I can only get a credit for a future flight. I am not in a financial position to afford traveling out of the city limits in most cases. But home is at least taken care of. So now I am forced into a contract for a purchase I don't want and have received no benefit from, because I can not simply change the dates because of circumstances beyond my control. I am trying to get my money back so I can just go to these companies websites and purchase the flight, rental, and hotel separately. The prices are basically the same.

Priceline may beat the hotel rate in some cases. But you can find great discounts online any way. But how can this company be okay with making people agree to sign an un-voidable contract knowingly, pushing it as a purchase. And still charge while giving credit for a future trip. Where is the humanity! I have an family emergency and the circumstances changed beyond my control and it's "oh well, now pay us"? I hope my credit card company declines the transaction. I want to get everything resolved in time so I can buy elsewhere. DON'T DO BUSINESS with a company who believes these are appropriate business guidelines. Unbelievable And unacceptable.

I think it's reasonable to know the price one is paying BEFORE committing to a purchase. So Priceline can now determine the price you pay!!! The customer does not know the actual price up front. No use trying to talk with someone at Priceline about it - even if you can reach someone - and their customer service is about non existent - the person just rattles off nonsense and refuses to forward the complaint up the line.

My wife and I spent a couple of hours searching for an 8-day car rental specifically so that we could pick up in one city and drop off in another because of our itinerary. Priceline had the better rate so we began completing the web page information. We made sure we entered the different pick up and drop off locations before we submitted the agreement. We immediately reviewed the printed agreement and noticed that it stated that the car would be picked up and returned to the same location. We called Priceline to explain what had happened and asked that it be corrected.

To call the 2 offshore women we talked to customer service reps is comical. They would not listen to us, they repeated the same policy dribble out of some written statement, and were generally hard to understand. Then, they 'graciously' would allow us to cancel for a $21 fee. But, it gets better. They can't actually cancel until they can confirm that we have not picked up the vehicle. The agreement was for the following day. And if canceling, they will keep our funds for another 10 days after the scheduled drop off date. Their nonsensical reason is that they need to make sure the vehicle has either not been picked up or has been returned. And what's worse is that they refused to send us any written confirmation that the cancellation was being offered and that they would only charge the $21. So, we had no guarantee that they wouldn't bill us the full amount. So now they have my money and I still have to find another car rental.

Priceline will not deal with issues. They are cold, uncaring, insensitive, and unwilling to consider simple mistakes by them or the customer. Whatever the system says is the law. Priceline deals may be good. But, the price for any mistake or error regardless of who is at fault is too high for me. I will never deal with this company again. I'd rather have the confidence that I am dealing with a company that treats me as a valued customer (potential repeat customer). They won't get any more of my money or any recommendations. I booked a motel reservation through Priceline.com using my credit card. Our stay was planned to be four-days. Following a very long drive, my wife and I checked into the Motel as planned. Our room was clean and neat but way too small for two senior citizens. After a very uncomfortable night, we checked out early the next day. The motel owner was polite and thanked us for our albeit shortened stay.

The problem with Priceline began when we returned home and I checked with my C-Card company, I discovered Priceline charged my card for the the full amount for the entire 4 day stay, not for the one day my wife and I actually used. I contacted Priceline via their web chat line, informed them that we had checked out after only one night and asked for a refund for the three unused days. I was informed by Priceline that a partial was not possible because the Motel would not authorize a partial refund to Priceline. At this point I called the motel.

The motel owner informed me that he could not give me a partial refund because it was not my c-card he charged; but the Priceline c-card; and that the rates charged were different. Since I am a merchant and familiar with c-card transactions, I suggested that he simply refund the appropriate amount to Priceline. Then Priceline could easily authorize my request for a partial refund. These transactions are not difficult.

I next contacted the Priceline customer assistance telephone line. A very nice woman informed me that she could not authorize a partial refund because the motel would not authorize a refund. She failed to explain exactly why the motel would not do so. I explained to her that I did speak to the Motel owner and that he confirmed my shortened stay. The Motel owner simply explained to me that he could only authorize a refund to Priceline, not me. At this point she said she would "look into" my "available options" and get back to me.

At this writing, the only communication I have received is a single garbled phone message which seemed to indicate nothing could be done. So, at this point in time, I am out the charges for three days which I did not stay at this motel. Both Priceline and the motel seem to be at odds with other and I am stuck in between. All through this nonsense I have pointed out that I am happy to pay for the one night I stayed. I'm not asking for anything more than a proper refund for the three nights not used.

Let me start out by saying I am absolutely disgusted with Priceline. I have used the company for years and now they choose to use a deceitful tactic on their website to force you into paying more for travel expenses than you intended. I started by using the "Name your own Price" option to rent a vehicle. My vehicle was stolen and I needed a rental until my insurance company finalized everything. I entered $10 a day as a starting bid. The company did not accept the bid so I increased it to $12.

The next screen that appeared was terms and agreements with a place for initials to accept the bid I placed. Unbeknownst to me, it wasn't the bid I placed. Priceline entered in a bid of $20 per day, a bid they felt was fair and knew would be accepted. I had no idea they had changed the bidding price and presented me with an agreements screen as if I was accepting my original bid of $12 per day. Once I clicked agree, the next screen said, "Congratulations, you won the bid of $20 per day." I was beyond pissed!!

I contacted Priceline to see if there was anything they could do because I did not want to pay that much and was basically told I should have read the fine print and to get lost. I've been through so much getting my vehicle stolen and then to be treated like dirt by Priceline is the icing on the cake really. I am warning everyone, BEWARE of Name your own Price on Priceline... they will name the price for you without even asking you if that bid is something you agree to!!!

I understand that I was the one who made an error by clicking "submit," but I cannot believe how poorly my situation was handled from a customer service point of view. As a first-time user, I was learning the lay of the land and was not totally prepared/ready. I clicked "submit" before I was really ready to click "submit." Priceline selected a hotel that was literally just inside the parameters of where I wanted to stay (a.k.a relatively far away from the main area), and with all of the fees Priceline charges, it ended up being more per night using Priceline than if I had booked directly though the hotel where I could have chosen to cancel.

However, none of that is the point. I hit "submit" before I was ready to, and therefore, did not mean to commit to staying at a hotel. I called customer service immediately, and was blatantly told it did not matter and that my credit card was automatically charged and I was in an irreversible position. At best, they suggested I called the hotel to see if they would agree to let me cancel the request. When I called the hotel, they said they were not allowed to do this because I booked it through a third party.

Basically, I feel like the representative from Priceline did not want to discuss it with me further so sent me on a wild goose hunt to the hotel. I was on the phone for approximately 45 minutes, and found no way to work to an agreement. I understand that it says "all sales final" or whatever the phrase they use to lock you in is, but it seems to me a good company would stand behind their product and provide you with a refund in the event an error occurs. This was my first and last time using Priceline, and while some people may find success with it, I have found it not worth my time or money to try to get a deal. I am highly disappointed, and plan to share my experience with many people so they can avoid the same thing from happening to them.

Booked a room with Priceline.com for Wingate by Wyndham only to discover that Priceline charged more than the hotel itself! Requested a refund but was refused as the request was beyond the 24 hours allowed by Priceline. Past experience with other similar providers was excellent, good bargain compared to booking directly with hotel. As the whole purpose of Priceline is a lower price compared to direct booking, this seems dishonest to me.

I booked a ticket with Priceline for a European vacation about nine months ago. I used trip insurance because I was about to start a new job and I wasn't sure what the future would bring. When I tried to use the insurance to try to get a refund (even partial) they told me to call the airline. I did, but the airline told me to call Priceline. After all of that, Priceline sent me a form and I never heard back, despite dealing with various people for 12 HOURS. I ate a 800 dollar trip and I WILL NEVER book with these people again. They'll give you a great deal, but if anything goes wrong or you need help, their customer service will be rude, obstinate, and you'll be left holding the bill. Good luck if you try it, but it's not worth the risk to me anymore.

I booked a room and when my email came the dates were different than I had booked. I called Priceline immediately and was told they could not be changed. To cancel it would cost me the one night fee plus additional charges. So, I thought, add the night to the booking and I would just stay longer. Nope, the rate to do that would be more than double the other two nights. Customer service would do nothing. I will never use Priceline again and will warn everyone I know not to do so either. I will post it in my business.

After booking a hotel with Priceline I received an email to book another room at the same hotel for same night at the same price, however, this isn't the case. Buyer beware, this company is full of **. They promise one thing but don't deliver. Save your time and money and use Travelocity or hotels.com. Stay away from this company that won't honor their OWN advertisement.

I booked a hotel through Priceline. I experienced an issue with the accommodations to which the hotel quickly apologized for and offered me a discounted stay per night to compensate me for. Upon checkout the hotel gave me a copy of the credit; however Priceline is dragging their feet on providing me the refund to my Mastercard. I am being told that the refund can take 7 to 10 business days to hit my Mastercard. This is the 10th day and my bank has no sign of a credit to my card.

Customer service at Priceline has been extremely unhelpful providing me with "script type" answers and statements. Further, I was told that they are not allowed to provide me with anything to prove that they are processing my credit. Another department came to the phone after I asked for a supervisor and said that they would send something, which they haven't, and that someone would contact me in another 5 business days. This is ridiculous! They debited my card instantly, but are reluctant to return funds to my card. Be wary of their business practices!

I booked a hotel through Priceline.com and the day of our trip I pulled up the details and saw a link to click for hotel details. I clicked it so I could see the pictures of the rooms again and noticed that the price per night was now $27 cheaper than what I had booked it for. I called customer service and after a 10 minute wait on hold I was told that even though I saw the cheaper price I was not eligible since he could not see that price on his end. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he said he didn't have one. I asked him if he had a boss and he told me "yes." So, I asked him to speak to that person and he very sarcastically responded that that's not what I had asked for since the title of his boss wasn't "supervisor" but rather a "customer relations representative". So not only was he arguing with me he resorted to being snarky!

I then very loudly had to ask to speak to someone other than him since he kept interrupting me after that. The customer relations rep was no better. He not only didn't offer any sort of compromise due to Priceline's blatant misinformation, he then insulted me when I told him of the bad reviews coming their way. He told me that he was sorry I felt I had to stoop to that level, basically implying that I was a toddler having a tantrum. If I could've given 0 stars I would have!! I will never use Priceline again and I hope for other consumers' sakes that they use someone else as well!!

I contacted Priceline after noticing my credit card had been used to fraudulently purchase an airline ticket by someone I did not know. I was informed when calling Priceline that the ticket was non-refundable and could only be refunded for the 24-hour window after it was purchased. This is, as stated by Priceline, a broad sweeping company policy for which there are no exceptions.

I asked Priceline how this could possibly be, since this was a matter of fraud, and how was I expected to know about a purchase on my account within a 24-hour window as I don't check my credit card statements line item by line item every day of the year. And I didn't even know a charge was made to look at since I didn't make it. I was told by Priceline that their company policy is that people should be aware of any charge within 24 hours of it being made, even if it is fraud. Then I was told by Priceline that their "automatic fraud detection" did not consider the purchase fraud, therefore they would not consider it fraud.

I find this exceptionally hard to believe considering a company selling rental cars, hotels, airline tickets and so on is likely to be a big time target of fraud. I was also told that the fraud department employs only 10 agents in the entire country, and so when I asked for the call to be escalated to a manager for further clarification I was told the agent was the most senior person available. This was not true, since I was later transferred to a "more senior agent" who was at least clarifying and helpful. They claim the only way to refund fraudulent charges is by requesting a chargeback, which can damage one's credit worthiness. They also claim that they make a legal distinction between fraud and domestic. For example, if a 16 year old girl steals her grandmother's credit card to fly to Paris, Priceline considers this "domestic" and thus will actually dispute the fraud with your banking agency.

It is completely unacceptable that Priceline believes it has the right to take hostage fraudulent charges especially without services rendered. We are talking about a stolen credit card used to purchase an airline ticket here. Refund the money and blacklist the name on the ticket would be the ethical thing to do. Instead, Priceline would prefer to argue with you on the phone.

My wife rented a car from Priceline and they gave her a price and we paid for it thru the site. When my wife got there the Budget Car Rental told her that they can't give her the car for that price cause it cost more a day. So my wife said no and went somewhere else and got a better deal so they still charged her after she called them but my point is there are so many people getting ripped off by these people. Why don't we all get together and open a lawsuit against them so these so call sites with great deals have to pay back everybody's money they stole back. Feel free to contact me at **.

Priceline charged $1122.08. The hotel gave me a receipt and the charge was $902.80. The response was they are calling the hotel to make sure that they don't make mistake giving a receipt so no one sees how they are being charged.

I bid on a hotel room in Halifax with Priceline.com and quickly found out that it was at the Westin Hotel in Halifax. Service was top notch; the room was exactly what I paid for, was very clean, 2 double beds, bathrobe, and very quiet. Would recommend this method of economical travelling: bidding on a hotel room. Thanks Priceline. Will use your services again.
