Bought a hotel room at Quality Hotel & Suites Airport East near the Toronto Airport. When we arrived the hotel clerk told me they've been telling Priceline they have been full for 15 days and yet still get Priceline customers. After calling Priceline customer service and been told to wait for 10 minutes at a time we were finally told there was no room anywhere. We asked for our money back which we got. By now it was 3:00 AM. Tired, disgusted and sad. We traveled to Toronto for my mother's funeral. Had to wake up a cousin to let us in at 4:00 AM.

Two days ago I went on the Priceline website and proposed a daily charge for renting a car from the San Francisco airport (SFO) for seven days in July 2016. This was the first time I had used Priceline (and the last). I proposed a price of $50. Apparently, I could have just asked for Priceline to find me the lowest price on the size of car I wanted for the specified period and pickup/drop off location, but I didn't know that at the time. So my price was accepted (of course) and I closed "the deal." My credit card was immediately charged for the full amount of the rental (over $400).
Two days later I see a pop-up from Priceline stating a car the same size as I had reserved could be rented from SFO for $25/day. I immediately went on Priceline and tried bidding $25. No one accepted, but a message appeared from Priceline saying "Try bidding $40/day". So I did and that was accepted. I thought "great, I just saved over $70." However, before I closed that deal, I went back and tried to cancel the first reservation and get a credit on my card and found that was not possible. I called Priceline and the rep said since I didn't find the better deal from another company but from Priceline I was stuck with the more expensive reservation. This makes no sense to me at all. I politely thanked the rep for his "help" and said "I would never use Priceline again."

Used Priceline to try and expedite a car rental. Found out after the fact that Priceline charged an extra $22 fee for insurance (on top of car rental). I have no problem with Avis they explained everything on their side. My credit card was immediately charged the fee before I even made it to the next town where I rented my car. When I called their insurance company (Priceline's website said I had to contact them) they said they couldn't help me it was Priceline's responsibility. I was transferred back to Priceline and was told that I could not cancel because I has already rented the car. I never asked for insurance as I have my own. So much for saving money? I cannot see how this doesn't constitute fraud?

I booked a travel package with 26 hours of car rental. I paid extra insurance to car rental company. But I only used the car for 23 hours, so I was charged for one day insurance. Then Priceline should only charge me for one day because rental company charged them for one day. When I talked to priceline, they refused the refund for the car rental of one day.

My son, who is stationed in Kuwait, purchased a very expensive round trip ticket to come home on leave, through Priceline. He did not have a passport but had his orders, leave paperwork, and military ID on him. He was allowed to fly on Royal Jordanian Airlines out of Kuwait into the US. However when he tried to fly back to Kuwait, Royal Jordanian Airlines would not accept his same orders. My son was left stranded in Chicago. He paid for a round trip ticket and was denied the ability to use it on a return flight.
Being panicked because my son had to return to duty, I contacted Priceline, and they said there was nothing they could do! Nothing! So we paid for a ticket that Priceline contracts with, and after they took our money, they would not honor my son's ticket. Everyone that I asked to speak to at Priceline was very apologetic, but leaving my son serving in Kuwait stranded, is not good enough for me. Having used them multiple times in the past, I will never use them again.

The CDC recommended pregnant women and women planning pregnancy not travel to Brazil. I am in the process of trying to become pregnant. This agency would not honor my cancellation. I was willing to pay penalty fees. I was willing to change destination for scheduled flight time or another time. They would not accommodate the situation at all. I have flown with US Airways for decades and they would never treat a customer this way. They always accommodate the customer and offer excellent service... I will NEVER use Priceline again. I was WARNED about using them. I should have listened. They have over 2000 complaints filed online. BAD Business agency.

Decided to take trip to San Juan and used PRICELINE. Looking for Condado to get some sun, beach, restaurants, etc. Got what appeared to be a good deal until we saw where we were staying. The Sheraton near the Convention Center. NOT ANYWHERE near walking distance to beaches, restaurants, etc.! Any money saved using Priceline will go to taxis to go everywhere. So we called Priceline to negotiate/complain and got a "we don't care" attitude, no matter who we spoke with. It was a "you bought it you got it" attitude. Like talking to robot drones. Nothing we said had any effect on their bottom line. WE WILL NEVER USE PRICELINE AGAIN. BUYER BEWARE.

I gave the email confirmation to the hotel manager who advises me to call the 800 number, which I did but was no answer. I panicked and I had to find another hotel because that hotel was completely sold out. Priceline has all my information including my CC number and God knows how are they going to do with it. I recently went on Priceline to rent a car for my vacation. I followed their instructions and even put in their suggested price of $23 a day for the car rental. I was informed of the price and then they informed me if I signed up for their credit card and applied it I would get an additional $50 off the price. My price was $228.95 with taxes included and they informed me with my discount it would be $178.95 with taxes included if I was accepted.
Well I got accepted but the price came back at $228.95 and not $178.95. I was furious. I went on their chat line and was told that the price I paid was the price and I couldn't cancel the card or my reservation. I informed them it was not the price I was promised and they said there was nothing they could do and I would get a credit on my next bill. That's fine except they took the money upfront. They said there was nothing they could do and I was obligated and could not cancel as per their policy. I was even more furious. I called their number and even answered their survey and told them I felt I was lied to and is this the way they do business? I got nowhere of course and now I will pay but never do business with them again. They lie and cheat.

I recently "bid" for a hotel room on Priceline.com. Having done this before I understood the terms & conditions of my "bid" being accepted. However using the bid map I chose two areas in a major city in the UK. The bid was accepted, but the hotel was not in the city I was bidding on. (It was in an adjoining city very close but not in the city I was looking to book.) I sent two emails and didn't get a reply.
I contacted their online agent and once it seemed clear to her that I felt misled by the outcome of my bid, we were suddenly disconnected and I was connected to a new person, who seemed to already know my case (a supervisor). She eventually told me there was nothing they could do. So buyer beware - as I think this is in fact fraudulent and I intend to pursue it further. I bid for hotel and would have been content to stay in any hotel per the bidding process. But to then be allocated a hotel in a different city and told there is nothing they could do is not acceptable.

I made reservations 4 days in advance at the Best Western Plaza Inn in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. My family drove 4 hours to arrive around bedtime. When checking in I gave the front desk my printout of reservations from Priceline with the confirmation. The hotel was booked up with church groups and had no evidence of any reservations made in my name. Priceline had passed this reservation on to their subsidiary Agoda.com who charged my card but did not make the reservations. I have never had a problem with Priceline in the past few years until this trip and I am extremely disappointed and inconvenienced. Now I am paying double for a room and have to wait until after the holiday to call and try to get a full refund.

When I got to the hotel the reservation had been made somewhere in Canada 1000's of miles away. Yesterday I was not allowed to board Air NZ flight because my surname has an Sr suffixed to my surname. I booked my ticket with Priceline.com, an American booking agent. On their web page, next to where I type in my surname ** was a dropped down menu which gave me 5 choices ie... For clicking that Sr I was penalized as my name now no longer match my NZ passport. Air NZ under instruction from their Code share partner, China Eastern Airlines not to accept any discrepancy in the name.
However, to me this read like Sr for senior or Jr for Junior or Mr for mister. It is so UNFAIR that I get penalized for that. After many communications with China Eastern Airlines, they still would not budge. Said, "Not our responsibility." On checking my Visa Card bank statement, $1300 was paid to CE Airline account. China Eastern airline cannot just wash their hands off this situation. They have a responsibility to help resolve this issue.

I was attempting to book 2 rooms in Johnson Creek Wisconsin for a weekend. After a search of prices, and reviews, the Comfort Suites had the best reviews. At the top of the page I was viewing, I saw an ad for Priceline. I ended up placing a bid with Priceline. The bid I was placing showed that Comfort Suites was on the list for a bid, and the rest of the hotels were out of the area.
Priceline took my bid, and reserved a hotel in Watertown, Wisconsin, approximately 8 miles away from where I was going and at a Super 8, that had the lowest rating in customer reviews and had a listed price of $10.00 lower had I booked them off their site. I contacted Priceline immediately, through chat online, and explained the situation and was told, sorry about that, and nothing could be done. I asked how I could be bidding on one hotel, and get switched to another one in a different city. I was told that is how Priceline operates, and I should have known it. I explained when I checked the box with the star ratings on the Priceline page, Comfort Suites was in that box and Super 8 wasn't. Again I was told, "sorry about that." I ended up paying for 2 rooms, for a hotel, in another city, that I won't be at, and booked 2 rooms at the comfort suites on their website, which is where I wanted to be in the first place.

I recently booked a trip through priceline.com via JetBlue. The total came out to $774.14 for 2 tickets. When I saw that the price dropped to $738.14 within the next week, I called JetBlue to see if they could do a price adjustment. JetBlue told me the amount I paid matches the lowest rate so there were no adjustments needed. My credit card statement shows I paid $774.14 to JetBlue but the SUPERVISOR at Priceline begs to differ.
He argues with me for over 30 minutes until he got a JetBlue rep (Ben) on the line. When he came back on the line with the JetBlue rep, he said, "Let Ben explain this to you." So when Ben said I should be paying $738.14, the Priceline rep felt very stupid. At first I said "Let me speak to a manager whom has the authority to solve this issue." The Priceline rep said he is the supervisor to speak to. After JetBlue proved him wrong, he said he needs to get a supervisor to look into this. MORE TIME WASTED! Priceline - Hotels. Priceline's ratings of New York hotels as 4 or 3.5 stars was highly deceptive. I wound up with a reservation for a very very tiny room in a 4 hotel described as "upscale plus". Nonsense! The room is VERY SMALL WITH A SINGLE FULL-SIZE BED for two adults. Customer reviews confirmed the ridiculous size. Priceline does not give you the option of rejecting or choosing hotels. You are completely dependent on their categories and choice.
I attempted to upgrade through the hotel (The Night Hotel in Times Square). I was told Priceline has to handle it. I phoned Priceline. They told me the hotel has to handle it. I phoned the hotel back. The very nice reservation clerk said, "I knew that would happen. They tell you that if they think you don't know what you're doing. You have to insist that they fax your request to regional otherwise they won't help you and even then they might not, but they are supposed to do it." I phoned back Priceline. Priceline is NOT taking any responsibility for their agent's fault. My flight has been delayed for more than 22 hours and the agent insists only 2 options for that: accept the change by the airline or refund the partial value of the ticket. When I choose to refund and after the agent calculated manually for 10 minutes, they provided me the information the total amount of $476.4 will be refund to me. I referred to more than an agent for the refund total amount and that's the amount provided by few different agents. By that, I made my decision to get a new ticket on my own because the price difference is not that much for the new air fare. After a month, my bank statement did not show any refund from Priceline. I called again and ended up there was only $234.8 will be refunded to me. I am so upset and I called for more than 7 times engaging on the phone for more than an hour trying to solve it.
BUT, what the final result that I got was not a single penny more for the refund. I insisted $476.4 is the amount provided by the agent and now I got less than what I should is not acceptable! The agent is not helpful at all and told me action will be taken towards the agent who provided the incorrect information and NOTHING we can do for the customer! I am totally frustrated as this is definitely not my mistake as a customer. I made my decision based on the information by the agent. So this is the customer service from Priceline, pushing the customer away and nothing they offered to the customer. Not even any compensation or absorbing the total difference. I booked a hotel in LA near the Burbank Hotel and Priceline showed me a price of $96 per night, including taxes. And when I finally complete the booking and show up at the hotel, the hotel charges an additional $21/night for parking. Considering there is no way to check the name of the hotel beforehand, there is no way to tell if the bidding price needs to account for the price of parking. And like everyone has mentioned in the other reviews, the customer service is seriously lacking in training. I asked the lady on the line if I could speak with her manager and her response was "no", so then I asked her if there is a customer grievance center I can discuss this matter with, and she hung up. :( I would definitely stay away from bidding and considering the customer service, oh well.

I booked a suite for the Casa Di Veneto in Crete, Greece through Priceline.com. Before I left, I sent Booking.com (part of Priceline.com) a request to confirm that the room would accommodate all 4 adults and 1 child. I received a confirmation from Booking.com the room would accommodate all of us and there would be no extra charge. When we arrived they put us in 2 rooms and told us it would be no extra charge. On check out day, I was told my total cost was 1200 Euro. I was told it was for the extra room and breakfast. They would not abide by Priceline's agreement and charged me for an extra room, breakfast and 30 euro a day for hot tub, even though we never had access to it. I sent Priceline an email explaining this and they basically told me the owner of the hotel doesn't agree with me, and that was it. I purchased a ticket for my Turkish fiance (Five months of pay for a typical Turkish person), flying from Istanbul to Mexico City, with the understanding from Priceline customer service that he would not need a transit visa if flying on the same airlines and was not going through customs. Then terrorist attacks in Paris happened and the transit visa rules started to become stricter, especially for Turkish citizens. I tried to change the ticket through Europe as we called every single embassy and asked about the changing rules. I was hysterically crying to the agents on two occasions (one put me on hold for 45 minutes) about the frustration of the visa change and about the situation, who had absolutely NO compassion on the phone and told me the change in ticket price for a change in layover to Europe would cost an additional 8,000, pay up or hang up!!! I then tried everything in my power to try and obtain a transit visa for the three hours.
I called Turkish airlines directly who told me that Priceline has locked them out of the system and were not allowed to change tickets. I called Aero-Mexico who told me the same thing, Priceline did not allow them to access the reservation. I called Priceline back who then told me to contact the airlines directly!!! Talk about the runaround and highly unethical business practice to offer a solution that they know is impossible, that's called LYING TO THE CUSTOMER! When a customer is complaining about a ticket being expensive and then the agent suggests a 8 times more expensive ticket, is rude and degrading, followed up by making them chase around. My last ditch effort was to contact my congressman in my state. Can you believe that? Priceline would not help so I had to go to a congressman!!!
I had a meeting with my states representative that could not believe the story and the lengths that I had gone through. She sent a special message to the government who said that due to the increased terrorist threat, they would not grant a transit visa regardless of the circumstances. I can send the formal email from the government regarding this request. This is all because Priceline would not refund my ticket or change the layover. Talk about capitalism at its finest! Now we have no money for the trip we had planned, it's Christmas, and I am on the phone constantly with Priceline and the government, trying to figure getting this ticket back. I was then handed to a manager who agreed with the situation and would look into refunding the ticket with Turkish airlines. He promised to call me back the next morning with a resolution. There was no call. I called the help desk, and the system could not find my number.
I tried the chat helpline and they told me to call someone else. Priceline give you the runaround, steals your money, and leaves you with nothing. Good luck trying to get a hold of a person, or have your issue resolved as they frequently drop your call, put you on long wait lines, and promise to call you back and never do. It was also in a part of town that did not show up in our original search. In fact it did not show up on the Priceline website at all. It was very important that she stay in a certain part of town and this hotel was far from it. It was within the map area as described but we felt confident that she would get a room in the right area as every hotel listed by Priceline was in the area she needed to be.
I'm not sure if Priceline has changed the way they do business. We have used them a lot and never had this problem before. Subsequently be aware that the hotels are not always the percentage off they describe and you may also end up in an obscure hotel that is not even shown on their website in your search. In September of this year I made the mistake of using Priceline to purchase tickets to France for June of next year. Based on my experience I will never use Priceline again. After I purchased the tickets from Priceline I transferred units in the Army Reserve and my drill schedule changed and my drill fell on the dates when I would be travelling to France. I called Priceline on the 25th of November to find out what the process was to request a refund due to military duties and was given an email address to send my drill schedule to which I did and was told a decision would be made within a few days. During this call I was on hold for a total of 36 minutes. I called Priceline again on the 27th of November and was advised that Priceline had received my documentation, would contact the airline, and would contact me the following Monday or Tuesday. I was on hold for a total of eleven minutes during this call.
I did not hear from Priceline so I called them again on the 4th of December. I was advised that a decision had not been made concerning my request and that I would be receiving a call the following week on Monday or Tuesday. Not surprisingly, Priceline never called me the following week. I called Priceline again on December 11th and was on hold for a total of 28 minutes. I was told a decision was not made concerning my request and I would receive a response by the following Monday. Once again Priceline failed to call me as they had promised and my wife called them today and was on hold for one hour and six minutes. She was told the documentation I sent on November 25th was just received by the airline, three weeks after I sent the documentation to Priceline. My wife was told that a decision would be made in three days and Priceline will call us once a decision was made.
The Senior Specialist, Jack, who spoke with my wife advised her that Priceline was doing us a favor in considering our request as they do not have a policy for providing refunds to military members who cannot make their travel due to a change in military duties. Needless to say we will never use Priceline again and will NEVER recommend them to anyone. I have never request anytime anywhere for the cancellation. When I tried contacting Priceline, they asked me to contact airlines, and again airlines asked to contact Priceline. It takes me almost up to midnight to sort out my flight. I had to cancel all my plans of visiting friends and shopping on that very last day of my stay. I have to go through so much hustle. We placed a bid on Priceline for a standard suv. We needed to take a trip from Knoxville, TN To Portland, Maine where we were going to attend our grandfather's funeral. We got the confirmation e-mail but it was not for a standard SUV it was for a Kia Rio. There are 5 of us that were going and we all know 5 people cannot fit in a Kia Rio especially when 2 are children with car seats. We called Priceline to tell them they switched our car from a suv to a Kia Rio and they told us we should have checked the confirmation page. Well the problem there, is they have already taken your money by that time and we never once clicked on a economy car.
They tell us we can get a refund but only 10 days after the car is supposed to be returned, in short we miss our Grandfather's funeral. So what they are doing is allowing you to bid on a car of your choosing then changing it to a smaller car after you bid so they and the car companies make out like bandits. Priceline should be shut down!!! This is so horrible.

I'll make sure that I never book with the Priceline group anymore. Selling the family stock in priceline.

I called about 4 different Priceline numbers. It took an average of 5-7 minutes prompting through because I don't have a trip number yet (in fact I'm not going to pay out the nose for a room if I don't know what I'm getting which is why I'm calling in the first place). When I finally do get a person, they ask over and over for a trip number. I tell them I need help with getting details about a room before I book it and spend hundreds of dollars. They say "we need your trip number before we can help you." I'm like "I don't have a trip number. I need details on the room first."
There's a major discrepancy. The website shows a Holiday Inn room with 2 rooms which we need which on their website is called an "Executive suite" and sleeps up to 4. On the Priceline website there is a "luxury suite" with identical pictures that says "seating area" and sleeps 2. It's the most expensive suite listed on Priceline so I could assume that's the one. But the price on Priceline is 135 and on Holiday Inn website is 450 something and no one at Priceline will even try to help me figure out if it's accurate or not. I'm going to use Expedia or just call the hotel myself. This company is absolutely useless.

I accidentally clicked on a bid for a rental car to be picked up and returned in the same city (I needed to return it in a different city). It took me a fraction of a second to close the window in an attempt to not have the bid go through but it was too late. Less than a minute later I was already talking to a customer service rep to try to cancel the transaction. Rep referred me to the outside rental company (Budget Rent a Car) and stated it was up to them to cancel the transaction and refund my $100+. I contacted Budget and they stated it was up to Priceline.
Back when talking to Priceline they opened a ticket so that they would "research" it more. They wouldn't be able to research it until the "return" date on my rental so I run the risk of losing the money without getting the car. This situation forced me take the car, return it earlier (without refund of the unused days) and rent a second car to take to another city. The helpful and honest way to deal with this would have been for Priceline to "review and research" my situation the same day it happened and not tell me to wait for 2 weeks before they actually start looking at it. They are thieves.

I made a mistake and booked the wrong Embassy Suite hotel on Priceline. I called and asked if I could cancel the current reservation and rebook with the Embassy Suite that had an indoor pool. They said my reservation could not be cancelled or changed. They were very cold and rude. I asked to talk to the manager and she was even more condescending than the rep I was first speaking to. The hotel I was asking to change to was $50 more. I have used Priceline practically since their inception. As long as you don't make mistakes, you might be ok. If you make a mistake on your reservation they will not help you. Everyone knows that it is completely untrue that they cannot change reservations.
They can do anything they want to. They just chose not to help. I have been in the military for almost 20 years. Tonight I officially end my relationship with Priceline. I will let my army co-workers, friends and neighbors know that Priceline does not treat you like a person and their rules are concrete. Military members need to work with travel sites that are more flexible because our schedules change all the time. My advice is to use Expedia or Travelocity. I will NEVER EVER USE Priceline again. I booked a flight to FL for a closing on a home and took out the insurance for trip protection. When I had to cancel the flight and rebook the trip and the car rental, they said the cost would be $200 per person to rebook the flight and no reimbursement for the car. Car Agreement stated no transfers, non refundable, ok so that is on me for not looking at it better. I also tried to work directly with the airlines and car rental co. but the cost was more than just rebooking the flights. I also canceled my flight 2 weeks early since I knew my closing got moved.
When I filed a claim for reimbursement under the insurance I took out they said "this was not a covered loss." Basically either death or medical issues are the only time it will be reimbursed. So anyone taking insurance 99% of the time probably not worth it. I originally did read the terms and conditions but several parts of the information was misleading and under the exclusion section there was nothing there to reflect it would be excluded as well. I am a professional and work with customers all day and I felt like this was the worst customer service experience I ever had. Booked a hotel through Priceline on November 24th. Looked at prices for hotel again on December 2. The price had gone down from $129/nt. to $111/nt for the same hotel, same dates, same room, same amenities in room, etc. I wasn't worried since Priceline has a "Best Price Guarantee" policy. I read over the policy several times and my account is covered by what their policy states.
Called Priceline and the rep told me that my reservation was non-changeable and non-refundable so it doesn't fall under the Best Price Guarantee policy even though there is NO mention of non-changeable, non-refundable reservations being excluded from the Best Price Guarantee policy. After the rep stating the same thing over and over I finally hung up and decided to try someone else on chat. Olga from Priceline had something totally different to tell me and I quote "Great news! Your reservation is eligible for our Best Price Guarantee." So after waiting a long time, Olga comes back to tell me that the room I originally booked has a different view from the rooms being offered on Priceline. After searching on my itinerary and on Priceline's hotel site I couldn't find anywhere that it stated the view I booked for my room or the rooms being offered. Still no refund of the difference.
Finally, I decided to chat with their customer service rep. She told me that I had to contact Priceline within 24 hours of booking in order to be eligible for the refund which is not stated on their policy either. 3 people, 3 different reasons why they can't refund me the difference, all ways of stealing from people. I had a screenshot of the sale price which I was told wouldn't help. I was transferred to a supervisor who just told me verbatim what the first representative said. So, I said that this was not acceptable and I would cancel my reservation. I was told to go ahead only to be charged a steep cancellation fee for something that wasn't my fault - it was a Priceline mistake. They didn't honor the price on their own website. In any event, there was a medical event that mandated a prolonged stay (as the trip was for a medical reason), and when I attempted to change my flight, but to no avail. I was willing to pay a penalty fee but they required more than that. It was ~$200 cheaper to buy a brand new one way flight back home. I explained that my trip was for medical testing and additional tests were added, all I got was, "I'm sorry to hear about that but", or "I'm sorry to hear your frustrations", or "I'm sorry you're going through this."
I wasn't asking for a free flight, I was asking for a fair one (I was willing to pay a penalty fee) but they were unempathetic and non-helpful. I am a frequent traveler as well as a professional. I had booked a room per my usual with PRICELINE. I did my homework on the hotel I would be staying at however due to my particular line of work, I have a large network of contacts that keep in touch in case there are safety issues that could arise during our work travel. While I have never had to change a reservation to date, I ended up having to make the decision to cancel a reservation. I wrote PRICELINE and explained everything... my line of work, alleged issues that could potentially harm me (or someone else) and that I have been using them for a long time and have never requested anything like this because I know their policies and am not one to complain for no apparent reason.
I asked for a CHANGE in hotel and even stated that they could keep any booking fee that they had to pay to the hotel (the hotel that I canceled on provided me with the information that this was all they were paid in the event of a cancellation. The booking fee was NOWHERE near the amount of the 800.00+ dollars that I am now out of pocket because PRICELINE would not assist me with a simple cancellation and change in hotel venue which I, as the customer, feel was for my own safety and should not even have been questioned. I wrote their executive section after getting nowhere with customer service - they are never authorized to go above their position and make decisions like this so it does pay to get upset and cause them undue distress) and explained and requested to have the hotel changed or refunded minus any fees they were out due to the cancellation.
I actually expected great customer service and to my horror, they explained that they would not do this. I have searched around as I think that consumers need to know that there is a company operating out there who is actually "stealing" what appears to be a lot of money from people who have legitimate issues. They are hiding behind a statement that appears to legally assist them in this thievery. I am very much appalled in how they are doing business and will certainly never use their service again. I have used other travel services with similar statements and only once in my professional career did I have to make a change with Travelocity and they were very helpful and assisted with my change as well as I was fine with having to pay the cost associated with the change... at least they did not steal my money.
I do not normally book on PRICELINE based on price, but based on location to my place of work. If I use for personal, it is based on price because I usually have a vacation budget set for the family. I have only continued to use PRICELINE and not other website travel services for work (I use several of the others for personal and as said have had good experiences with customer service) because I am still a fan of William Shatner. I cannot imagine that this man knows that he is helping promote a company that is stealing from the public, and based on the number of reviews PRICELINE is getting, I would say they are not only making a lot of money off of this unethical practice, but there are a lot of people out there who really cannot afford to just "give money away" to PRICELINE. This is a real travesty.
Initially I was only out to get most of the money I was owed refunded from PRICELINE but after seeing so many people hurt by them, I think it's time the company "Pay" for all of the damage it has done to others in taking money. I am going to try and reach out to as many professional places and use my network to tell this story in hopes that the site will change its practice. In my situation, it would not have been hard for them to change my reservation, charge me a fee and subtract the original booking fee. It would have saved me a lot of time in not having to write this and get my experience out there in hopes that others can read about. This is not just going on this site, but will be submitted to the BBB, etc... I feel I have been more than fair about my request.
I had been a loyal customer and would have continued using had they helped me change this. I think that safety is a reasonable concern and one that they should not even have to validate. In my case they called the business and actually asked them about what I told them about. In my line of work, I am aware that no business out there would honestly answer that question that was asked of this particular place or they would have a public affair nightmare and business would greatly suffer until they cleared up the publicity. They also asked the question incorrectly and not accurately according to my safety complaint. I was actually going to help this place out once I reached my work destination.
Due to that I did not wish for others that were not as educated to walk into an unsafe situation, I did charge that hotel to my AMEX card and have been a loyal customer to AMEX for many, many years. I have reached out to them and discussed and I am not done yet with this. If I had the time I would actually fly to the corporate office of PRICELINE and have a sitdown with the executive team in person. I hate using the word "steal" but that is what it appears they are doing to "legally" make money in America. I am now a retired military officer and the integrity I expected to be shown by any company in America has now been greatly reduced due to a company like this that is preying on the public.
I also believe I read an article once where consumers were being helped in these matters and will further look into. WORD to the WISE...stay away from PRICELINE...it is only a matter of time before it ends up costing you money that you likely did not have to just "give away" to begin with. Try Travelocity, Expedia, or another favorite of mine is AMEX travel, or just go directly to the site and book.

The phone flashed twice and before I could enter a bid or the days, it booked me two days that I did not bid for. The rep explained that the phone pre-filled in the bid for me and insisted that I put in 2 days which I absolutely did not. They could not care less that in over ten years I have never once asked to have something corrected. Their app failed and they will do nothing. I am paying over $400 for one night in a hotel I could have gotten for $150 with AAA. Never ever again.

A second agent from Priceline worked with me to resolve the issue.
Original Review: Nov. 2, 2015
I booked a hotel through Priceline Express Deals for Hotel Felix. The bedding policy on Priceline was as follows: "All rooms will accommodate 2 people. Bed type requests (King, Queen, 2 Doubles, etc.) or other special requests such as a non-smoking or smoking room should be requested through your confirmed hotel, can not be guaranteed and are based on availability." I called the hotel to request 2 double beds as I was planning on staying with a co-worker. When I called to request 2 double beds, I was told they could not guarantee 2 double beds and that I would be charged an extra $60 to get 2 double beds.
Nothing in the bedding policy suggested that a normal bed request of standard double beds would be an upcharge. I have never experienced such a clever attempt on the part of a hotel to lock a customer into a deal and then rip them off for a normal bedding type. Priceline did very little to try and resolve the issue and just ended the conversation by saying there is nothing they can do on their end. I will never be using Priceline for anything nor ever staying at the Hotel Felix unless I am forced to because I already paid for the hotel and Priceline will not refund my order.

I was shopping travel packages (hotel, air and car) today, October 22nd, 2015 for a six day trip from Newark, NJ (EWR) to Honolulu (HNL). I selected my package that included: Nonstop flights on Hawaiian Airline, Outrigger Reef Hotel & a midsize car from Avis Car Rental. I also added the trip protection plan @$53.00. The package total was $2288.39 which included the $30.00 per day hotel fee, taxes and other charges. As I was checking out, I noticed my airport changed from EWR to JFK. Luckily I caught it. So I went back and changed departing city to EWR, went through the entire process of checking out again, I double checked the departure airport was EWR and clicked the "Purchase" button. I waited for the reservation to process. It did not give me the itinerary but instead a message that read: “Here is your "Trip Number" please check back for itinerary.”
When I checked back, I was shocked to see that Priceline.com changed my departing City AGAIN to JFK. I called their customer service dept, explained what happened to the CS Rep. Who said, "No problem, I can help you with that." Then he processed to tell me to cancel my flight only and to re-book. Otherwise there would be a charge to cancel the hotel & car. I said, "But that would increase my travel price because it is no longer a package." He said that was all they could do, so I asked to speak to a manager. I spoke to the CS lead who told me the same thing. I then asked to speak with her manager and was told, "There is no one else you can talk to. All you can do is take down the business address and write a formal complaint." Of course, I am not the least be happy about this! Big Corporations just ripping people off left and right with no regard for their customers whatsoever.
Now I am out of pocket $2300.00 for travel that I cannot use. I will have to go back and book travel with another company at a higher rate because travel increases by the minute. I have screen prints of the transaction taken right from my computer as well as a video tape of my checking out from EWR and the system changing to JFK. WHAT A RIP! That is what this world has come to. People have to record transactions in order to prove what they say purchased is what was actually purchased. After filing a complaint with BBB, Berna ** from Priceline responded via email. She said I am sorry there is nothing they can do because New York has several Airports so their system will pick a departing City for you.

I work in a customer service atmosphere on phone lines, so when I tell you that I know how customer service works, I do. This company has NONE. I booked a trip and their lovely website refused to allow me to change the return hours. I called customer service and was told that a change could be made for a low cost. I thought, ok, and booked the flight. Big mistake. I called back to change the flight. After sitting on hold for 30 minutes, I got someone who had an accent so thick, I could barely understand them...I think it was a woman, not sure.
Their low cost was $200 plus any fare changes plus another $30 fee. So I called the airline directly and was told that can do a same day change for $75, but would need to call back. I was told that Priceline could do this, too. I called Priceline and got the same thing as before (30 minute hold time and someone who could barely speak English and same amounts for fare changes, NOTHING about the same day change). So while Priceline may seem like a good deal, it's really, really not. I was able to get through to the airline again (much shorter hold time and someone who spoke English clearly) and change the flight at the much lower cost than Priceline was trying to rip me off with.

When I got the notification of the second flight change, I called again that day to cancel my flight as the combination of changes interfered with feeding my infant son and was told that the change was "small" in their opinion and they would neither refund or change my flight without a $230 fee per person. I was thinking that if something came up to stopped my brother-in-law or me from going I would not lose the 455.00. The thought being I would either get refunded or be offered a room at another time. The other choice would be like ordering car parts - you pay a restocking fee but you would not be out the whole amount for the 2nd room $250.00.
The trip protection cost brought the cost of the room to within 10.00 of what I would have paid out right to the hotel. Surely they would have refunded me, because we canceled the room 24 hours before check in. A certified death certificate is need by Priceline. Wonder how many of those they get? They show availability and price per person, and once I choose it, it redirects me to an outrageous price difference. I then choose another price option, same thing happens. Then I choose another... same thing. But, once I choose something on the higher price range, it will not change it. I do understand that prices do change frequently, but it has been showing the same price and availability for the past two weeks. If these prices are not available, why even bother showing it on there?
I have also changed computers and searched from another one, and it is showing the same price. But as soon as I click it, it gives me a $2000 increase. This is horrible for the people who are wanting to use Priceline. This is not fair. I have even searched from TripAdvisor, and it has given me same price from Priceline and once I click to reserve, price goes up dramatically.
I will never choose you, ever again. Stop giving false prices, and lying to customers who are willing to use you. You want them to fall right into your lies and pay the dramatic price just because they think they are getting something less expensive. You should be ashamed for this. And in all honestly, I would not have to go this far if it was only a one day search, but I have been searching for a week... different days, different hours. We raised the issue immediately, and the lady told us to contact PRICELINE.COM. When we asked her whether there was housekeep, she said she wasn't sure. The air condition was noisy and ceiling fan shook badly as if it could fall at any time. The curtain did not block light (it was not a blackout curtain), so that it affected my sleep. I called priceline.com the next day and the rep. asked me to check out and find another hotel by myself.
We planned our vacation 2 to 3 months in advance and didn't think we could do that. Also, we had a busy schedule in Maui and it was impossible to spend more time searching for hotels, so we stayed. There was no housekeep and I had to wash towel every night and took care of garbage. They finally charged us $174.58 cleaning and resort fee ($114.58 cleaning fee and $60 resort fee)! I called PRICELINE three times and wrote to them once since I got back home. I was told I should call the hotel myself!!! PRICELINE should add one more category "APARTMENT RENTAL". I would never recommend using Priceline to make reservations for anything, anywhere. We used Priceline.com to make hotel and car reservations for our trip to Vancouver, Canada. We live within Canada so when we made the reservations, we did not expect the charges to be anything but Canadian Dollars. First mistake. We were charged on our Visa in US dollars ($108.24), which when converted back into Canadian dollars, was much more expensive. When we contacted Priceline, we were advised that they could not do anything about the reservations unless we found a lower price online. If we did, they would refund us the extra amount, immediately.
The hotel cost online was the same, but through the online site, Airport Rentals, powered by Priceline.com, we found an economy car (which is what we had originally reserved), at the same car rental agency, for $55.33 US about half the cost. Not only that, we could reserve it in Canadian dollars, which would have saved even more. When we called back Priceline, we were advised they couldn't find the same rental and that Avis had no economy cars available, which is incorrect since we had our original reservation for an economy car. That car would have been made available when they cancelled the first reservation. They refused to give us the reduced rate.

DO NOT ever book a car rental with Priceline. I recently booked a car rental at Priceline and they had reserved me a car at Hertz. When I showed up to pickup my car with my international driver's license, Hertz would not recognize my international license. Funny thing is, Enterprise and Dollar accepts it. When I explained to the Priceline customer service that Hertz did not allow me to pickup my car because they did not accept an international driver's permit, they would not refund me the amount for the reservations.
What was even worse is, I had also purchased a collision protection program offered by Priceline for 11 dollars per day. The protection plan claims I can cancel my reservation anytime and get a full refund. When I told customer service my situation with Hertz, and also the protection program that I had purchased allows me to cancel my reservation with a full refund, they just rebuffed my claim and told me they would not refund my car reservation with Hertz.
What was even more shady was the sales person at Hertz said another car rental company across the street would accept my international license. When I asked about it they said it would cost 5x per day to rent a car. This is such a shady practice. Stay away from Hertz also! To all, never book a car with Priceline. There is ZERO flexibility. They replied they could not take complaint concerns nor had the ability to send it to the appropriate party. So here's the story: I recently used your service to secure a rental car in San Diego for approximately $93. Once I was shuttled to the Payless rental car location, I was told, along with 4 other couples, that they had no cars available. They said they would shuttle us to another rental company and would pay the difference of the rental cost. We were "dumped" at a different rental company that did not receive prior notification from Payless. This company called a third company. Then we were shuttled to that company. They did have a vehicle. My final cost went to $197!
This is a huge scam that I believe is a well organized system to get travelers into a situation where they have minimal options and accept what they are force fed. I had an appointment (that I was eventually late for) and had no option except to take what was offered. At the VERY least, Payless in San Diego should be contacted by Priceline, reprimanded, and removed from your approved list. There will be more postings on this subject after 24 hours. As it turns out I didn't need the ticket at that time so I decided I'll use it another date.
7 months later I call Priceline. Took hours to locate my credit, as if it didn't exist anymore, then finally they found something using my credit card info. Only to tell me that and getting a reduced credit including transfer fees etc, etc. So basically an $800 dollar tick reduced to 200 credit from Priceline. It gets better. Now I'm being told that I can't use the credit for any other flight in the USA. Only the same location that I originally got the credit for. Which is not what I need. So my money is just a donation to Priceline. For a service I truly didn't really need in the first place. I'm frustrated.

I have turned to Priceline to book many of hotels to visit my husband who is currently serving for the US Army. Usually I have no interaction with their customer service. Except the 2 of the last 4 times, which is why I will never use them again. I had booked a hotel to visit my husband for this upcoming weekend, however received news 3 days before I checked in that his orders did not permit him to leave the base. I simply called customer service as soon as he told me to see if there was any way for me to reschedule my hotel. Not asking for my money back or cancel my reservation just simply change the dates. To a later date that was available at the same price. However, according to customer service that is not an option.
Cancelling is not even an option unless they received my husband's Commander's name and phone number so that they could personally contact him. My response was "No. I am not providing the pertinent information of someone who is my husband's boss and happens to hold an prominent position." They stated they wanted to call him to discuss my cancellation. It has nothing to do with the commander. Then they wanted me to send a copy of his orders to the Priceline customer service, which has my husband's delicate information (DOD number, social security, etc), and just want me to send it to someone or people I have no idea where they are located or who will have access to this information.
I expressed my unwillingness to send such information and they repeatedly told me it is the only way. After hearing that multiple times I said that I did not care about the money being refunded, that for the business of the hotel I booked that they should call the hotel and cancel so they could have the room available and they simply said that they will not because I had paid for it. To be honest this incidence has disgusted me and encouraged me to actively not recommend the site to anyone I know.

This was my first experience with Priceline. It will be my last! I went to the site and was encouraged by the claim that cancellations were free. So I immediately booked a reservation. Then, within a few moments of printing the itinerary I realized that the hotel was not in my town. I tried everything to reach a real person at Priceline, but was continually given the run-around by the recorded messages. I did eventually reach a person, who told me that only some of the reservations were "cancellations for free." No more Priceline for me!

I purchase a ticket for my mom. She was not able to leave on the schedule flight due to her having medical problems. I call the Priceline in order to reschedule her returned flight. They tell me that they will charge fees which was absurd - the total fees were over $230 dollars. I explain them my issues, they did not care. I explain to them that it will be way cheaper to just book another flight. I booked another flight with Southwest and by the way, thank you Southwest - it only cost me $100 dollars with free check on luggage, so anyways I call back to get a refund and then they tell me that their policy don't let them give back refunds, and that I can reschedule for another day.
I highly suggest to others, don't ever book on Priceline - they make it impossible to reschedule, and all they want is more of your hardworking money and also they will keep your money if you don't agree to pay an arm and a leg for a flight change. Also they don't support the troops because when I explain to them that I was a US Troops as well, they don't give a damn about their customers. Never again I will book with Priceline, be advise people - they have horrible customer service. Outcome - they kept my money.

On 5/21/15 I booked a room in San Francisco through Priceline's Express hotel deals option. When you book it this way, you book it based on the hotel's star rating, area and price. The property is not revealed until after you pay for your stay. They promise you the lowest rate for that hotel if you book it this way through their site. After paying $841.08 for my 3 night stay, my hotel information was revealed. I was booked at The Serrano Hotel. When I went to the hotel website the price was below what I was being charged by Priceline (I also checked the site again the day I was to check in and it was lower on both Priceline's site as well as the hotel's). When I called Priceline to complain and cancel the booking, they would not allow me to send proof and did not offer me any recourse (which I attempted to do anyway... I have provided that email... attached).
I did not stay at the hotel and paid to stay somewhere else. I attempted to cancel payment through Citibank, but was traveling when they sent out the necessary documentation needing my signatures and therefore they could not offer me recourse, even though I appealed it. I am furious!! I have used Priceline many times and I'm a good customer. They misrepresented what they sold me, I did not use it and therefore I paid $841.08 for nothing!! Furthermore, on several other sites that hotel does not have the same 4 star rating that Priceline has given it. I have spent hours and hours of my time trying to remedy this. All I ask is to be refunded the $841.08!

On July 18th, I received notice that a family member had passed away and that funeral information would be following. On July 20th, I proceeded to look for airfare from my home in SC to TX where the services were going to be held. Since I have been unemployed with no income coming in, I needed to find a low rate. I decided to try Priceline. I went on the site and attempted to bid on several flights using the dates of July 30th (departure) and August 2nd (returning). After several failed bids, I finally received an email stating that my bid was accepted, $300.00 was accepted. The email stated that my total cost, with fees was $342.00. Honestly, I never looked at the email thoroughly. I contacted my sister and forwarded her the email.
On July 28th, my sister contacts me to ask me why my flight was going out a day earlier than I had planned. She stated that I had received an email telling me to check into my flight. I was running errands and dropping off a pet to be neutered and had not had a chance to see the email. I stated that I would check when I got home. As soon as I got home and saw the email, I contacted Priceline to inquire about the mix-up. I explained that I was flying out for a funeral and I explained that I could not fly out on the 29th as I had to pick up my pet from the clinic on that date. The Priceline rep stated that under the circumstances, she would provide a "one-time courtesy cancellation." She also advised me that if I cancelled, I would have to attempt to rebid for the correct dates. I attempted to secure another ticket for the correct dates at an affordable rate but was unable to do so. I was able to find a flight on another provider.
On Friday July 31st, I contacted Priceline and was informed that my refund was being processed and that I would receive it sometime the following week (August 3-7). After not seeing the credit on my credit card statement, I contacted Priceline again. This time I was told that I would not receive the refund as I did not rebook with them. I explained that the prior two customer service reps had not stated that the money would be lost if I did not rebook with Priceline and that, in fact, I was told I would get the refund back.
I immediately filed a written dispute with Priceline. Since then, I have exchanged several emails with Nico ** from the executive offices concerning this matter. In one email dated, September 3rd, stating that the company was considering a refund but were waiting to hear from their Air Travel Services Department. I have sent numerous emails to Mr. ** since then and have received no further replies regarding this matter. I understand that the fees are non-refundable. However, the Customer rep stated that she was providing a "one-time courtesy cancellation." In addition, I was told by another customer rep on July 31st that my refund was being processed.

We called the front desk to see if someone would come clean our room, someone comes by and says "Housekeeping went home", and they dropped off a busted old vacuum so we could clean our own room! My wife vacuumed our own room and changed our own sheets, wiped down counters and knobs with wipes that came up black after using them.
After all that, we still couldn't handle staying there. It didn't feel safe at all. We would not stay in that place for free. There's no way that place was at the star level Priceline says it was. Priceline and their no-refund policy don't protect you on situations like these. I was pretty much told "tough luck" from Priceline on trying to get help. Their website has no place to give one a choice. When I called them I was given a lecture on reading the fine line on their 12 page agreement. I offered to pay the penalty to fly earlier but I was told in not so many words to piss off. I would never spend a penny with a company that does not understand or care for its customers. I recently took a business trip to California. I booked a hotel, flight, and car rental. I used Priceline to rent my car and book my hotel. Soon after I booked my trip, I realized the dates I selected wouldn't work with previous plans I had, so I obviously rescheduled my flight, then my hotel, forgetting all about my car rental reservation. So, when I landed in California it dawned on me that I may have forgotten to reschedule my rental. After checking my confirmation email, I was right. I totally spaced that part of my trip. I went to the car rental counter anyway, thinking I could just adjust my dates at the counter, but no. Because I booked through Priceline, I would have to re-book a rental. Which I was fine with, until I found out that they WOULD NOT under any circumstances refund the $120 rental fee!
Because I accepted the reservation, I was accepting a non-refund policy. I get it, it is on me to read all terms and conditions and I should purchase travel insurance, but in this case, I did not. I also didn't expect Priceline to not penalize me for my oversight, but what I did expect was for them to work with me. Help me out, reapply a portion of the fee, give me a discount, anything! Nope! I wonder what they did with that money? It's not like the car sat at the rental location unrented! They passed it onto the next person. I'm honestly unhappy with that organization. Since I have done this many times over the years, I am familiar with your no cancellations, no changes policy. However anyone, without reading your fine print, would assume that this pertained to the dates/rates/times. We were quite surprised when we found that this also applied to changing drivers. My Brother-in-Law, who made the reservation, is unable to travel, so we contacted you to change the driver. To our surprise, we were rebuffed by several people explaining that this is not doable. What? No one was able to explain the logic of that policy, and they had no desire to get me to understand, or patience with my questions. As of now, we are out $135.00 with no recourse. I asked who else I could talk to and they said I can write a letter, simply brushing me off. I am in sales, and was pretty upset with how this was handled.
I will say that I am very sorry now that I suggested to my brother and sister in law that they use Priceline. It has caused much angst among us, not to mention that we are now out $135.00. I have used Priceline in the past. I logged into my account. I tried booking 3 rooms for multiple families, who are all gathering for a much needed vacation together. After entering the search criteria, it returned results of the Hard Rock Hotel having the 3 rooms (each with 2 queen beds) for 2 nights - totaling $2115.12. We went through filling out the necessary fields of information, credit card, address, phone etc., hit enter, and it kicked back to the home page. Confused, I checked my itinerary and it said "booking failed." I started over and entered a brand new search. The same hotel popped up again so I went through the same thing - filled out the necessary fields, credit card information, etc. hit enter and it kicked me back to the home page. I went to the itinerary and it said "booking failed."
Feeling completely frustrated I double checked the numbers, and all the necessary fields and did it again. Figured I needed to update the credit card information for my Priceline account so I proceeded to update the card on file. I had to conduct a new search (as the hotels are booking fast for Halloween Horror Nights special event). Again, the same hotel with the same 3 rooms were available. So, I went through filling out the credit card, address, phone number, etc. and hit enter. It kicked me back to the homepage. At this point, I am just plain angry. I think that maybe, I need to sign out of my account and sign back in. So, I do that. I go through the search again. The same hotel comes up. Hard Rock Hotel, 3 queen rooms with 2 double beds for 2 nights. I re-enter all the information and it goes back to the Priceline hotel homepage.
Then I sign out completely. I clear browsing history. I open the site again WITHOUT signing in. It did the same thing. This time I requested a "chat" so I could speak with a representative to see what the problem was. I was assured my card was not charged. At this point, I change computers. I go to my husband's laptop and the same thing happens. My husband checks his account and it shows 6 pending transactions, each in the amount of $2,115.12. Totaling $12,690.72 pending withdraws. Completely panicked and after nearly an hour on the phone (1/2 of that time spent trying to get a human) with Priceline, they apologized. We have no available funds at this point to even try to book with another site or hotel. We do not have a room.
My complaint is this. If the rooms are not available, the site should not say they are. They should not be checking fund availability or testing for funds of any amount, if the rooms are not available. Now, they say it will be a couple hours before all the money is released. Bank of America is having technical difficulties and cannot assist at this time to dispute transactions. The perfect combination of things going wrongly. I will never, ever use Priceline again. BEFORE I did this, I read the entire policy to make sure that my debit card would not be charged if denied the bid. When it denied my offer, it showed me a hotel that would take my bid, and asked me if I would like to continue and book the room. So, I did. I am a college student, am traveling, and have limited funds for the next 3 days. I tried to use my card to get gas and was denied because they placed 2 holds on my card! 1 in the amount of $318 for the room/nights they denied me, and then another $322 for the room/nights that they accepted. Instead of placing a hold on just the room/nights that I will be trying to travel to in the amount of $322, I am now in overdraft status because they placed the hold in the amount of $640!
I called and a friendly man in India read me their line of BS over and over. I asked for a supervisor and long story short - he told me that they would call the bank and ask them to lift the hold, but that he won't be at work during my banking hours because we are on opposite ends of the world. Really? That's the answer and help that I get? What I've learned is: 1 - to never use Priceline again, and to tell everyone I know not to use them. 2 - read reviews before using a business (I thought that this site was reputable, how stupid was I to base that assumption from the media ads). A few other things too, but I will maintain my temper and keep it to myself.
Now I have to sleep in my car because my debit card is in a negative status. They placed the hold, why can't they release it? Mr. India told me that the hold would be in place for 7 business days. Wonderful. No gas, no way to pay for a room tonight either. Thanks Priceline.

I bought an air ticket from Buenos Aires to Madrid through Priceline.com. It was in First class - I have their confirmation of this in written on my confirmed reservation. When I tried to reserve the seats with the airline, they told me that my tickets were booked in coach. I called Priceline many many times. Their call center is in Philippines and Costa Rica. Each time I call they keep me 30 minutes on the phone in order to read the record. I received an email from them telling me that they will do a refund of $100.00 (which is unacceptable). In summary they sold me one thing and gave me another. Beware of this company. You can have the same problem. And nobody will help you...

I booked a hotel several weeks ago and was charged the full amount ahead of time. When I checked out yesterday, I received my bill and it was 50$ cheaper. I called Priceline tonight and they couldn't explained why I was charged more. I spoke to someone higher up. She says that I should have never seen the cheaper price. That receipt was supposed to be sent to me. So they are making a profit which would be perfectly fine, but they do not share that on their website. Then the lady in charge hung up on me when I was questioning the difference in prices. I will never use Priceline again.

I booked an Express Deal with Priceline on a 4-night Hotel package at the Palazzo Condominiums by Wyndham in Panama City Beach, FL. The deal that I booked had a "total cost" of $740.56. When I checked my credit card statement it showed a charge of $963.60 by Pay Leisurelink. When I called Priceline and entered in my trip number it automatically forwarded me to their sister company Booking.com. I had to make 3 separate calls to Booking.com before I could understand the person on the other end of the phone.
The rude Booking.com person would not forward me to their supervisor or tell me how I could get in touch with someone at Priceline. All they would tell me is that the resort is in charge of charging my card and that there were 3 "undisclosed" charges to my credit card. I hung up with them and called Wyndham and they said they had "nothing to do with the charges" when I tried to cancel my trip and said that they would refund $740.56. So I was overcharged and am trying to cancel my reservation and they are saying that they are going to keep the $223.04 for a service fee. Several more attempts to get help from Priceline have failed and I have had to fax documentation in. They don't care or think that their "Total Cost" commitment means anything!

When I realized my mistake, it was too bad, no cancellations allowed. I checked Expedia and hotels.com and both come up with the city you actually asked for first. Appealing to customer service didn't help, all they tell you is it's their policy. Now policies are important to protect the company, but they should also protect the consumer who makes an honest mistake. Doesn't matter, it would seem all they care about is the bottom line.

This organization is by far the worst agency on earth. Worse anything you have ever dealt with. They need to be wiped off the face of this earth and am pretty sure they will be sued very soon based on how they operate and treat customers. This is my first and last time using Priceline. I booked a location requesting for space for two people and was provided with a room for one person. As soon as I found this out within two minutes of booking I contacted them requesting to make changes accordingly and or cancel. I WAS TOLD THAT I couldn't cancel because my booking was non refundable.
Now what kind of business operates like this? Even airlines give you 24 hours to make changes to your reservation. The lady basically said she was sorry and there was nothing she could do. I called the hotel who state that I call Priceline. This is the kind of business where no one takes responsibility. Never again and I will be sure to let my entire family and friends and anyone else I know about this ** company. The world does not need these kinds of business in operation.

I am SO disappointed in Priceline.com. I always thought I was getting a good deal when using the site, until I found a rate that was almost HALF the price of one other Express Deals. The site makes it seem so simple and 'hassle-free' to get a refund for the difference. The customer service agent said that I could not receive the 'best price guarantee' because the other site actually offered cancellation, unlike Priceline's nonrefundable, no cancellation policy. However, the website says "Comparable Cancellation Policies" which the agent told me actually means "Must be the same or more strict."
Why not make that policy clear online? Don't advertise something as a guarantee when it is not at all guarantee. This is false advertising. Another site is offering a cheaper rate AND better service, yet they do NOTHING to at least attempt to keep a customer happy. All I received was the same scripted lines over and over. Again, nothing to even TRY to make the situation better knowing that I am now wasting over $500 on a hotel room (which they say is 2 1/2 stars, but is more like 2 on other websites).
I have used Expedia, Booking.com and Southwestvacations.com before who have all honored price differences without giving any push back. Those companies (and I'm sure most others) know how to retain customers. We travel a lot, I know people who book travel for work, and I will gladly spread the word about never using Priceline again. This company obviously does not value its customers and has no sense in clear messaging/advertising and retaining customers. It is very sad knowing that a company would treat customers this way, especially a travel site. Booking travel should make people happy, not make them angry. Please Priceline, make your messages more clear online, stop making "best price guarantees" and take a lesson in valuing and retaining customers.

When I called Priceline, I get a scripted version of a response. As I viewed the pricing on other hotels during bidding, there were statements that there will be a resort fee added to that bid. But on the hotel that I bid on, there was no resort fee mentioned. This charge made my bid $5 more per night. That's $150 more a month. If I'm "Naming my own price", should I pay the price that I named and they accepted or should they be allowed to just charge any amount to my credit card because I'm locked into this bid. Can't cancel it. Can't change it. I'm just screwed. And the sad part, there was no resort. No amenities. Just some rundown old motel.

I put a bid into PRICELINE. They showed five car rental companies and told me after I pressed the COMMITMENT TO PAY BUTTON, that one of these companies would be providing services. I got SIXT Car Rental Company in Myrtle Beach. I was ok with this. I got to the Myrtle Beach International Airport and waited in line for over an hour and there were only 4 customers in front of me. When I finally got to the counter, the clerk tells me THAT HE WANTS MY CREDIT CARD. I said, "I already bought this and paid for it prior to arriving." HE THEN TELLS ME THAT SIXT CAR RENTAL company won't release a car to me unless they CHARGE my credit card for additional 1-2x the total already paid amount, to ensure that if something happens to the vehicle, they are covered.
EVEN though I have full coverage insurance on my car and even though I paid in advance, they do this and won't release a car to me. They also ended up giving me a much larger car, that sucks gas because they did NOT have the compact car I asked for. At any rate, they charged an additional 337 on my credit card, and it is pending and will be charged to my account, and then I have to go home and dispute this and make sure it's taken off. The clerk said they automatically take it off after you return the car, but that it takes 5-10 business days. I WILL NEVER USE PRICELINE AGAIN FOR ANY SERVICE. I started using PL back in 2001. I canceled the reservation because the hotel looks so rundown and the breakfast is a sham - Knights Inn and Suites from VA Beach. Priceline isn't trying to give me a fair refund which is the price advertised per night plus taxes. However Priceline doesn't show accurate price per night, only the average amount. I had a 3 day rental for an economy vehicle from Hertz. I got a Chevy Spark, which clearly had front end repairs as they had aftermarket headlights on a 2015 vehicle. I drove to my destination on Monday evening to return home Wednesday night and return vehicle Thursday. I drove with my 80 year old mother Wednesday morning for breakfast. When leaving the restaurant, the vehicle would not start. Clearly not the battery as lights, windows, etc. all worked, and for the first time, the check engine light was on. I called roadside service and was asked to follow a few instructions, still won't start. Was told that they must send someone to attempt a jump first and if not successful, a tow would be needed. Waited an hour for someone to attempt the jump, did not work.
In the meantime, it is 94 degrees outside with full on sun so I had to get my mother out of heat and sun. The restaurant folks were very kind and took care of her. Called roadside service again and was told I must stay with vehicle for tow truck and replacement vehicle to be delivered. Another hour passes and I call roadside again and told tow is on the way should be there soon. Another hour passes and told tow is stuck in traffic, will be there in 20 minutes. 30 minutes later, no tow and I call again. Was told tow hasn't left the airport yet with replacement vehicle. It took 5 hours in dreadful heat until my replacement vehicle arrived, leaving our vacation plans shot for that day. I realize things happen, but as a customer, Hertz's first concern should have been to bring me a replacement vehicle then deal with the tow. I was absolutely STRANDED for 5 hours!
When I returned the vehicle I told them of the disaster and was told since I rented through Priceline there was nothing they could do. The another Hertz employee, probably a manager, told the counter person to give me a $50 voucher for a future rental. Really? Checking many reputable sources including Hotwire, Expedia, TripAdvisor and more; the average comments went from 'this place should be boarded up' to 'bathroom completely molded' as well as 'all elevators out of service'. All of these reviews were within the past 2 months.

I would not recommend anyone use Priceline. They are a complete joke! I was out of town and decided to stay another day on my vacation. The hotel I was at was booked so I went on Priceline to find another one close by. I found a hotel, chose the King room, booked it and everything seemed great... until I got to the hotel. The guy told me they didn't have any King rooms and I was the 3rd person that Priceline had sold a King room to that they didn't have. I had already paid online and since it was already within 24-hours I couldn't cancel the room and go somewhere else. I was stuck at this hotel now in a double bed room. There wasn't much I could do but he told me it was a litter cheaper.
He had me sign a receipt (that I have) with an amount that was approximately $12 cheaper than what my itinerary showed. I was billed the full amount though. I called Priceline to inquire about it and got the complete runaround. They said that it was their negotiated price and he made a mistake and shouldn't have given me a receipt for a cheaper price. They said that since I stayed at the hotel I couldn't get a refund. I told them I had no choice, I would have been out the money and would have had to find another place but they said it didn't matter. It's not much money that we are talking about but it's the principle of the thing. THEY made the error by selling a room that wasn't available in the first place but yet I have to pay for it. It wasn't the front desk person's mistake for giving me a receipt, it was theirs for booking bogus rooms.
They couldn't have cared less if I was upset or not, they read their little speech to me over and over again. The first lady I spoke with said she could give me a credit for the next time I use Priceline, which will not happen. The second lady just kept saying there was nothing she could do. I just thanked her for not being any help whatsoever and hung up. At this point, I really don't care about the money, like I said, it's only $12. It's the fact that they sold me a room that they knew wasn't available and have horrible customer service when you call to speak with them.
I told them I had the receipt and I would send a copy of it and what I was billed to their corporate office as well. If they are going to offer guarantees and have such a big company then they need to keep their systems up-to-date to know what's available and what is not. Having a little bit of good customer service would have gone a long way with me. Taking responsibility probably would have been enough but to keep blaming others for their mistake is not ok. I should have checked reviews before I used them... lesson learned.

I made a hotel reservation with Priceline through their mobile website while I was on the road leaving FLL airport. When I arrived to the hotel, 15 minutes after having made the reservation, I was surprised that there was no parking. There was no off-street parking anywhere because the hotel was right off the highway in an industrial area and the only available parking was a closed, paid access only, parking lot at the hotel for a ridiculous price which defeats the purpose of booking through Priceline.
I called Priceline immediately that evening while still looking for parking (20 min after having made the original reservation) and requested to change my reservation to any other hotel with accessible parking and they refused to do so. I told them that the hotel description on their website said that parking was available but did not say that it was at a fee which made me believe that it was included. Their answer was that hotels may charge other fees once you check-in and that once the reservation has been made it could not be changed or canceled at all. I felt trapped into the reservation and lied to about the price. What was I supposed to do with the car?
I ended up having to cancel the reservation because the price for the parking was not disclosed and out of my budget. Priceline deceitfully gives you a price under the false impression that you are saving extra money using their service when in reality they just hide additional charges that the hotel will charge you regardless. Please note that I did not stay at the hotel because there was no accessible parking, canceled the reservation within 15-20 minutes after having booked it and Priceline still charged my credit card for a room I didn't use.
They refused to find alternatives and stuck to their no cancellation policy. Customer service is not available to talk to if you have questions prior to booking a reservation. Customer service is only available with a confirmation number. This is wrong and forces consumers to pay for a service they can't cancel in order to be able to speak with a Priceline representative. Their prices are deceiving and their business model a scam.

They were not willing to help and hung out on us, even after I explained the hotel was *not even in the same city we were traveling to. The lack of customer service means I will be taking my business elsewhere or booking with hotels directly; Priceline lacks consistency and their agents were unwilling to help us change our reservation. Take your business elsewhere.

Booked a hotel on 8/3/15 for a 2-night stay 8/7 to 8/9/15. Selected a "smoking" room. Status on site stated 1 of those was left. Arrive at hotel and find out no smoking room available. Furthermore, I had printed out my confirmation and had given her my credit card to verify with Priceline... stated their system couldn't authorize (???). It had nothing to do with funds, but verifying. So my girlfriend gave her credit card and it went through. Then the clerk gives me the form and it shows a completely different CC# than the one that I used to reserve and a address in Pennsylvania not my address in South Carolina!!!
Called Priceline to correct situation. While on hold after taking 20 minutes to explain to the rep what has transpired she calls the hotel and then informs me there is nothing they can do blah blah blah. Ask would I accept a 20% refund/ I said "OK." I am then advised it would take up to 10 days! (WHY?) And I received an automated email showing my trip# and case# and also advising up to two weeks.
Today is 8/22/15 way more than ten days/two weeks and despite my calling their customer service (advised it was sent to escalation- Why would it go there? I wasn't angry at that time) and email that I only get an automated one back. NOTHING has happened nor any amount refunded. Hotel was next to train tracks. No mention of this of course. Told we could smoke on the balcony. Well, it was the smallest balcony I have ever seen and if someone was larger than me they wouldn't had been able to even stand sideways on it. Will NEVER use Priceline again and am very disappointed and angry.

I was notified that my airline flights were changed. The flights they were changed to were in no manner comparable to the original flights. My original flights were non-stop and at a decent price. When I called to see if I could be switched to a comparable flight I was denied help from two different agents. When my call was escalated I asked to speak with a supervisor because the current employee was rude and unhelpful. Instead of transferring me after being asked multiple times, she hung up on my call. The solution that I wanted was not unreasonable. I wanted to be switched to a different flight with similar flight times for my departure. I told the agent I wouldn't mind keeping my return flight. She then told me that would not be possible. I had to either refund the entire trip or keep the flights they gave me. I had no choice but to refund the flight because the new departure time would not work for the vacation I had planned.
So now I have to book new flights that will cost substantially more money because of the agent's inability to provide a reasonable solution. The employee's name was "Rachel". I want to be refunded for the full price of the ticket, plus the extra fees that I am now going to incur because I had to book the flights again. The prices are now substantially higher. If the agent would have just refunded the departure part of my trip this would be a non-issue. Because she forced me to refund the entire trip I have no choice but to book the same flight at a much higher price. I also want the agent, "Rachel" to be reprimanded and have this on her employee record. I would be ashamed to have employees that acted in this manner in my business.

Priceline.com commercial on tv advertises that if you need a hotel last-minute, late check-in (i.e. You arrive in a city late at night and want to find hotels with unbooked rooms) Priceline.com will get you rooms at reduced rates. I drove into Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and arrived at a hotel that I've stayed at before and like. It was 10:00 pm, I checked Priceline.com and they showed their rate for a room with two Queens was $113 + tax. I asked the hotel front desk what their rate would be for a last minute room, they said $138 + tax. I clicked "book" on Priceline.com, the hotel got an instant confirmation of my room, paid, etc. I got to my room, settled in, grabbed my iPad and started catching up on emails. There was an email from Priceline.com with my receipt... $131.90 U.S. Dollars! That's approx $180 Canadian Dollars... How is this a reduced rate? What a scam.
Nowhere on the entire booking screen for Priceline.com does it say they charge US Funds, and as a Canadian in a Canadian city booking a Canadian hotel, I assumed it was Canadian funds. I called customer service right away, hoping they could cancel the room and refund my credit card so I could go down to front desk and pay hotel directly. Not a chance! No Refunds. I asked if they would credit my card the difference so that at least the Priceline rate was equal to what the hotel charges, not a chance! So obviously Priceline.com doesn't care, nor want CANADIAN customers, they're quite happy screwing us for MORE money than what rooms are worth. Do yourself a favor, call the hotel directly, or as I did, walk in and speak to the front desk... Don't use Priceline.com!!

Most recent reviews were all under 5 out of 10... most of them are 1 or 2 complaining bed bugs, even though their rating was 3 out of 5. Hotel with bed bugs can't/shouldn't be rated 3. I called them and the only thing they kept saying is the booking is non-refundable.

I reserved a hotel through "Name your own price" in Quebec City. I arrived at the hotel at 7 PM, and the hotel told me that when I reserved the room, they didn't actually have any rooms available. What they could offer me was an interview room, where I could sleep on a pull-out -- terribly uncomfortable pull-out, sofa bed. After spending 30 minutes on hold with various unhelpful Priceline employees, they offered me a 20% discount on a US$190 charge. They also offered me to leave the hotel and take a full refund (at this time it was 9:30 PM and I had been traveling all day), or that they would find me a different room in Quebec but they could not guarantee the location. I had a flight the next morning and decided to sleep on the terrible bed, but the service was pathetic and the problem was insane.

It seems harder and harder to trust what you read since companies like Priceline can deliberately mislead customers without consequence. I booked a room after referring to Priceline's 1 star and 2 star example hotels. I knew I didn't want Days Inn or Rodeway Inn since my wife would be there with 3 daughters. When you click on 1 star examples it clearly gives you four hotel names (Rodeway inn, Econolodge, Super 8 & Red Roof Inn). I knew I didn't want Rodeway so I clicked 2 stars with express deal. When I get my confirmation, guess what hotel I'm in? Yep Rodeway Inn! Priceline, this is not how to retain repeat business! To make matters worse they are rude over the phone and refuse to give you any help period. They told me Rodeway is listed as a 2 star hotel. Well okay Priceline, then how about you remove it from your 1 star examples?

I was booking a room at a hotel for a rate published on the Priceline Website. While I was completing the transaction entering my Name, Address and Credit Card the system changed the rate and added $29 to the quoted room rate. When I got the confirmation from the credit card I noticed the rate had gone up. I tried to call the call center and got a message after entering my trip number that they could not help me at that time. I called later and was told that the system changes rates all the time and that Priceline would not honor the original quoted rate. The call center agent could not explain what happened and would not budge on the rate difference. Even more interesting was that when I checked into the hotel the agent told me that the rate I was paying was $10 more than their rack rate. Priceline you lost me as a customer forever. I hope this will serve as a warning to any other people who want to use Priceline.

I call to complain and the off-shore representative says, "Oh I see, it is 1.9 miles from downtown Seattle." Great... I selected downtown Seattle because I want to be within walking distance to my meetings. Not walk 1.9 miles in a suit in the summer. The hotel they chose was Stay America, the problem is I'd just left another Stay America in Raleigh, because I got sick from being there while renovations are going on, and a problem with my credit card being overcharged. I called Priceline to ask for another hotel or a refund so I could go to another hotel. Basically, I was told hard cheese, and I should write to some company and I would give a refund, maybe in about 3 months. I was also told that the hotel would require $100 in cash as a deposit, although I used my credit card. I had to give in and go to the hotel, where I found out no deposit would be necessary, because I had used a credit card.
This was my first time using Priceline, and it will be the last. Their customer service people need refreshing training, to learn that customers are responsible for their business' success, and should always be treated with respect. The woman I spoke to had this tone in her voice like she was speaking to a **, I could almost see her rolling her eyes..

So, I bid $109 for a hotel and I am being charged a non-refundable fee of $158.59. You can decide for yourself if this is the type of company you want to do business with.

In order to book a correct flight online, I had to tried 3 times, and I was charged total $120 for the fees. First time because the time is too early, I tried to changed the time, they said got to charge me $200 penalty. In order to reduce the penalty I have to book again from them. This time their system has the problem, I put in flight date Aug 21, the confirmation come out Aug 16. They charged me another $30 for this error, total 2 tickets, they charged $60. And I have to book 3rd time in order to get back the rest. It was a horrible problem.
And they don't pick up the phone if you don't have a confirmation, that mean if you have problem while booking, no one will help you, unless you booked it and made mistake, then they pick up the phone and tell you that you got to pay for the mistake. People want to save money so go to Priceline, but actually they are ripped off. If I book from a traditional travel agency, they only charge me $30 for the service fee, that' s it, and worry free. On 8-14-15 me and my family was suppose to check into Crossland Economy Studios in Mesquite, Texas that we got thru a bundle package thru Priceline. Well our flight, they set up to arrive at 10:25 at nite. Then they gave us a hotel that's 30 mins away from the airport. Well our flight was delayed 4hrs, so we called the hotel and Hertz to inform them of the flight delay. So by the time we got to Dallas from Indiana it was 2am. We finally get the rental car and drive 30 mins the hotel, might I add, which we asked to be close to the airport as possible. There were several closer hotels in the area. So we get to the hotel, exhausted and ready to sleep cuz now it's 3am by time we get to the hotel. We get there and they tell us that don't check in after 11pm and they lock the lobby for the nite as per their policy. So we going back and forth with the hotel to no avail.
So we call Priceline to handle the problem since it's their fault for setting us up with a hotel so far and whose policy don't allow check-ins after 11. Knowing they gave us a flight that was going have us get there after 11pm even without the flight delay. Anyway so we call Priceline and they call the hotel to get them to let us check in. After waiting for 45 mins he tell us there is nothing he can do. I was furious and irritated. So then they tell us we can still check in that evening at 3pm. I asked several times for a supervisor and they refused to give me one but instead sends me to another customer service agent who repeat the same process. Then after another hour pass he tells me that there is nothing they can do because of the hotel policy.
So I ask for a refund for the day that we not using due to their mistake. They refused to give us a refund. Even tho it's Priceline guarantee policy to honor any checking due to flight delays and it was their fault for setting us up with that late flight and with a hotel with that type of policy. Then I said, "We'll cancel the rest of the reservation and give us another hotel." They said per our contract they can't do it. Plus we would lose all of the money we already paid. Then told us they did the best they could for me and hung up in my face after going back and forth for 2 hrs. So now it's almost 5am and we stuck in our car with nowhere to stay.
Luckily the day shift manager at the hotel came in at 7am and had talked to the night shift girl about our situation. She saw us sleep in the car outside the lobby and allowed us to check in at 8am instead of 3pm. But then we had specifically asked Priceline for 2 beds when got the package because it's four of us that was going. But of course they only set us up for a king bed. I was totally out, done with Priceline. Their manager had mercy on us and gave us a double thank God. Needless to say it was a very horrible nite from the beginning. But I will never use Priceline again!!! THEY ARE LIARS, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS ARE RUDE!! And extremely incompetent! Their guarantee policy is BS! So please beware!!

I Called the hotel to cancel and was rerouted to Priceline, and was then told by Priceline that my room was nonrefundable, nontransferable AND non-changeable. Really?! I could not believe my ears. They didn't even try to rectify the problem. Their only answer was that they got me a great room at a great rate. How is either one of those "great" to me if I can't enjoy them? Priceline is really insensitive to their customers' needs. Thanks a lot for nothing Priceline, I hope you enjoyed the $100+ you TOOK from me on my birthday. Will start by saying it's ultimately my fault for not paying attention. That said, what a ridiculous racket Priceline is. Found out the "special" rate I was paying ($100 per night) would've been $109 per night through the hotel directly, and they WOULD have let me make changes or even cancel FOR FREE. Booked a hotel across the state for 2 nights through Priceline. Had to change plan and only stay the second night. Wasn't trying to cancel, just change the reservation.
The barely English speaking rep at Priceline explained she was "unable to assist me because their policy does not allow for changes or cancellations". I asked "Why not?" She could only mutter the same stupid company line. I asked "are your calls recorded?" She said "Yes". I said "good. I will never use Priceline again. I thought you guys were there to actually make my buying experience easier but it turns out you're just there to collect money." No reply. My guess is, seeing all the bad reports, they just do not care. Good luck with that policy Priceline! Will never use again.
