I have been a Priceline customer for many years. It has gone from bad to worst. This is the second time in a very short period that I had to spend time on the phone with Priceline after placing and "winning" a bid. One hotel in Verona totally out of the area where I bid was assigned, actually, an airport hotel with no public transportation or places to eat or go other than the hotel itself, which as per the reviews, was dump. Once I did my search I realized that I was fooled and had them reduced the rate but in the end we abandoned the idea of taking this hotel, ate the expense and made a reservation in the center through another website.
Yesterday, while bidding the box that opens with the market price was $303.00 for a 4 star hotel. I won a bid for a $150.00 and then came to find out that the hotel was listed thru Priceline at $155.00. Yes, this hotel was not listed. The others listed were worth a $150.00 bid. During my long phone call with them, they determined that they did nothing wrong advertising a hotel for $155.00 and a customer bidding for the same hotel (unknown) and winning it at $150.00 (plus fees). When I pushed back about why bidding? What's in there for the customer? A $5.00 win. I thought it was abusive and I feel that they are not to be trusted in their practice. This is really bad!
I am one that researches to death before placing a bid and also based on experience of being burned at the beginning. I am just talking about two recent experiences. There had been others that they had to fix and they admitted to it but lately I noticed that they have reps trained to say NO, managers do the same and they have all the same line to give you, just like robots. All in all, my trust is very low, keeps diminishing, and doing less and less business with Priceline. Long gone are the days that Priceline was a great way to save for your travel.

I recently booked a hotel in Paris through Priceline. While on the site I was offered "Express Booking" options. Under Express Booking you do not know the name of the hotel but you do know its general location and star rating. I booked a 3 star hotel for $98 marked down from $116 for a reported $16 savings. After booking (which is non refundable) they tell you the name and location of the hotel. When I looked up the hotel I had just booked I found that its guests gave it a 5.6 rating (on a 10 scale) and offered that it was dirty, the staff rude and breakfast expensive. In addition the hotel imposes a $10 per day charge at the hotel in addition to the stated rate. So my "savings" was not 16% but 5%.
I then looked at 3 star hotels in the immediate veracity and found that the going rate in the neighborhood without any discount was $85 to $98 with breakfast included in the room price. I immediately e-mailed Priceline and requested a cancellation of the booking and was told that under the terms of their contract with the hotel no refunds were allowed. I then called and went through 2 agents and then a supervisor. They all sang the same song. The listing said no refunds. Therefore there is nothing we can do. When I pointed out that their customers said the hotel was dirty, expensive and staffed by rude employees they just answered that the contract allowed for no refunds and that the hotel said it was a 3 star hotel.
The supervisor (Daniel) said that while she would not send her daughter to a dirty, expensive hotel staffed by rude people there was nothing she would do. MY ADVICE IS STAY AWAY FROM PRICELINE AT ALL COSTS. They are enabling hotels to commit fraud and then not standing up for their customers. I expected more from Captain Kirk!

I booked an Express Deal. I have used Priceline for years, and I knew I had an issue right away this time. Unfortunately, I found out their customer service is terrible and learned they have a scam. When I called the hotel and they could not find my reservation, the hotel was sold out. When I called Priceline to inquire, they told me they needed to "see where my reservation was." They would "look into" the issue and let me know the day of the travel.
That is 100% not acceptable; my credit card was already charged and the trip was 500 miles away, and I needed confirmation my hotel stay was in fact confirmed since I had been charged... they said that was not an option. What this tells me is that they did in fact sell me a room that was sold out and they are hoping someone cancels, which is why they can't get back to me until the day of the event. Since they already have my money, I am pretty much screwed. If you actually want the room you pay for, use another service!

I booked a hotel in error and called them right away. They said they cannot refund the money. Rude customer service and they trap you in. There was no button to confirm the trip and the hotel name was not revealed. You would think a company in the USA would give you the option to cancel if you book something in error! SUCKERS!!!

Their BBB A+ rating fooled me and will fool you and on that I also reviewed the BBB. Don't bother complaining to them. They are too eager to close all complaints. Over 1000+ customers cannot be wrong. When Priceline gives you a promise to cancel your reservation, that the price guarantee will be honored, run, don't walk. The wording on their site is well crafted, ambiguously phrased with fine print that is equally as confusing.

I made a cruise reservation with Priceline.com Cruises in January 2016 for a December 26, 2016 cruise with Carnival. Throughout all of the gobbledygook to finish booking the reservation, it turns out that they booked an "Early Saver" cruise fare. They sent me the invoice after requiring a $500 deposit, in which it prominently stated in bold and much larger print, that there was no penalty for cancelling so many days before the cruise, etc.
Yesterday, July 20, 2016 I attempted to cancel the cruise reservation within the no penalty time frame, and they tried to charge me a significant cancellation fee. After complaining to a supervisor they waived the fee "for one time only", and later stated that they checked with Carnival, and that they would charge a cancellation fee and grant a $200 voucher for a "future cruise".
As it turns out, the Early Saver fee has a hidden cancellation penalty in the fine print of the Invoice. Instead of sending an Invoice/Receipt stating "you have reserved an Early Saver fare with a cancellation penalty by both Priceline and Carnival", they just leave the policy in the fine print and the result is "GOTCHA". VERY UNETHICAL and TRICKY. I will NEVER USE PRICELINE again for any type of travel arrangement!

I bid on a car thru Priceline. I realized that they were charging more for taxes than if I rented a car from them thru their retail website or other car companies websites. When asked about that, they told me that Hertz was the one who decided the taxes and fees. I called up Hertz and they told me that was not true. They have no idea what the charge is and they only get paid when we pick up the car. I asked them over and over again for a breakdown but said they didn't have that. I questioned how in 30 seconds they could come up with the taxes and fees and not know how they came to that amount. After dealing with them for 3 hours, getting the runaround, not answering my question, lying I finally decided to take a $40 hit and decline the reservation. I have never been thru anything like before. What really got me was when they lied about who decided the taxes and fees.

When trying to book a flight only trip, it took two attempts to get the reservation made. When I received the itinerary there was a car reservation which I did not request. I did not need a car for the trip at all. When I called to cancel the car, the SR informed me the car reservation was non-refundable. I told him that was ridiculous and asked to be bumped to someone who could help me. He said there was no one. I asked him to cancel the entire trip and he told me that the car would still be non-refundable. I then INSISTED on speaking to his manager. The manager eventually was able to cancel the whole trip, including the car charge. The issue was finally resolved but only they tried to bully and intimidate me into accepting the car.

Yes Priceline, I expect a different answer since you are proud to advertise "Best Price Guaranteed. We guarantee the lowest price on everything you book." I'm always reluctant when I need to call about price matching. There always seems to be some fine print as to why they cannot honour what they advertise. I'm going thru my credit card now to dispute the charge. I don't want use more Priceline or any parental company. My wife's company use Booking for hotel services with yearly average 10,000/year. I just give notice to her and she say - "fine, no more Booking."
Book Aeromexico. Total Price: $584.00. Itinerary last July 18 - less 2 days - today I found better deal Priceline Copa for the same itinerary with less 200USD. I want to cancel my Aeromexico ticket and book COPA Cost Per Person: $404.90. According your ad "best price guaranteed. We guarantee the lowest price on everything you book." Well Priceline will not refund the other reservation I had even though the hotel's going to resell the room. I would've rebooked the room once I came back however they have motivated me get a CLC card and tell everyone not to use Priceline.

The difference is an over charge for city tax, occupancy tax, and sales tax. I called and they were rude and totd me they didn't make a mistake. Will never use Priceline again and I am making a complaint with NC to look into possible fraud by overcharging sales tax.

When I booked a car on Priceline for my wife they had me fill out the driver info and then my credit card info. When they sent me the confirm they had my wife's name. When she went to pick up the car, the rental agency wouldn't give it to her because the rental was under my name. She was unable to rent the car. I repeat, we never got the car. When I told Priceline and asked for my money they said all sales were final. But I said we did not receive what we bought, so the transaction isn't complete. They said they could not give my money back because they already gave it to the rental company. When I asked the rental company, they said they never received money because they never rented a car. Priceline messed up the reservation, kept all my money, and lied about it. I truly hate Priceline. So short sided when I do so many purchases online. This is also my first negative review, but I couldn't let them off.

I attempted to book through Priceline 3 different times for an upcoming trip for work to NYC. Each time, they wouldn't finish processing my payment, said they couldn't complete the reservation, and then immediately hike up the price for the exact same reservation. I called Priceline about this, they told me this would never happen (a.k.a. I was fabricating this story) and hung up on me. I was just about to book through Travelocity, but many hours later, I found another option through Priceline, more than what I originally tried to book for, but less than Travelocity. Twice, my rez was declined and price went up. I tried one last time - same info, same CC, same everything - and what do you know? It went through! Yay... Until I realized the confirm email had the wrong dates. At this point, it's almost 3am. I called Priceline immediately, they told me that they wouldn't cancel or change anything.
I called the airline and hotel, and after 3 days, I was able to get their approval to cancel and I got my money back. Priceline said this was my error and wouldn't cancel - bummer for them that I had taken a screenshot (just in case I got declined again) with correct dates. They STILL wouldn't admit that it was a Priceline error, but as both hotel and airline were ok with cancellation, plus proving this was not my mistake, they put cancel and refund through.
Several days later, after finally getting my money back, I went back online to rebook. All travel sites were about a thousand dollars more expensive than when I originally attempted to arrange this trip, so what did I do? I checked Priceline. Obviously, we can chalk up the rest of my heartache here to a very poor decision on my part going back to them, but thinking this wouldn't be so bad again, I rebooked. I decided to fly out a day sooner, stay the extra night, and got a better price than original dates. This still cost me $500 more than when I first tried to book, but better than elsewhere. I paid extra (about $20/night extra) to upgrade to a "superior" 2 double room. I've stayed at this hotel before, and it is actually a decent hotel, ONLY if you upgrade. Their standard rooms are unbearable and gross, and wouldn't even be worth a Priceline discount. Otherwise, it's my go-to hotel with the room upgrade.
This time, I still had 2 back to back issues getting the reservation to go through. YES, Priceline charged me more each time I tried to get this to go through, but still cheaper than other sites. I sucked it up, and on the 3rd try, I was booked - correct dates and all! I always call airline immediately after to secure seats. That went well and no issues on airline portion. Now, I just called the hotel today (I check-in tomorrow). The hotel said that Priceline sent through to them the "standard" room (the small, dirty, unbearable one) and that I had to contact Priceline to have them send correct info. When I looked at all hotel room options, Priceline offered "standard" at no extra cost, "superior" for the $20/night extra, and "deluxe" for suites. The hotel has NO option for "superior", so they process that as a standard. Not only am I stuck in a horrible room for the week, BUT I also paid extra for a fake upgrade!
I have been on the phone with Priceline for about 30-40 min. They claim these options don't show up on their site and that they couldn't even find my chosen hotel on their website. As soon as I said that I was looking at it ON THEIR SITE and was happy to send a screenshot, what do you know? All of a sudden it could be found! Priceline basically told me that I never upgraded - and to make matters worse - not only that I chose a standard, but they won't even honor the 2 double bed that I purchased (making this an ever smaller and worse option) and that it was all out of their hands.
I've purchased a few trips through Priceline going back several months ago, always issues, but nothing like this. Travelocity or Hotwire? Never an issue, and if I need to change something, I've always gotten help. Priceline is a huge scam. Maybe they weren't always bad, but this is absolutely disgusting. I requested for corporate to call me, but how much would you bet that I won't hear from them? I get over 20,000 views/month on another review site, and trust me, this will be going up. If I wasn't leaving tomorrow morning, I would just cancel again and start over. Please, please, please don't get pulled into the lower price because it's mostly likely just a scam. They are going to screw you over anyway, and you'll end up paying more in the long run.

I booked convertible in NY and when I came they asked for 2 credit cards and they told it's because I booked it through Priceline. I booked many many cars before and never was asked for 2 credit cards. They told Priceline should have notified me, which they didn't. As a result they gave me cheaper car. I asked for a discount. They told it's all between Priceline and me and Priceline should have notified me, so not their problem. So I had to drive a cheaper car for the price of expensive car. Like you book business class and you get coach, cool.
I contacted customer service explaining the case and response is: "You didn't have two cards." Really? I know. My point is different. I responded, and got the same response: "You didn't have two cards." Wow, yes, exactly. Budget told I don't need two if I book directly and only need when booking through Priceline. So, I have used Priceline for years and been so satisfied with their prices and their hotel connections. Then, once I had my plans change and I tried to change them with Priceline and there was nothing they could do. They wanted serious details of my life in order to cancel or change. So, because there was nothing else they could do, I had to double book a hotel. Pay twice. Completely unacceptable.
The next time I booked, I purchased their insurance, because they know that plans change, and all of their other pleasantries. And, I ended up having to cancel that trip. I called Priceline and they told me that they tried, but who knows if that's really true. I then filed an insurance claim. The only way that they are willing to pay a claim is if there is a doctors note or a hospital bill. Otherwise, you're screwed. So you're paying for insurance that is practically useless. And when you complain to Priceline, they claim they are following the same procedures as all of their hotel affiliates. However, I've had personal experience that shows that these other companies are often far more human than Priceline has ever been. And people deserve to know that the only time to use Priceline is if you're 1000% sure you're never cancelling.

I had booked a hotel in Austin and was very excited since I had not been there in 20 years. Priceline had a Microtel showing nice pictures, clean, etc. Driving to the hotel was scary. Very bad part of town. As soon as I enter the parking lot I could tell this is not what I was shown. We could see inside a hotel room and noticed the drapes were dirty and discolored. I was uncomfortable leaving my car in the outdoor parking lot. I walk in to the hotel and it was dirty and old. I waited to speak with the young man checking out patrons. As I'm waiting I look around and the hotel was not clean or well taken care of. There were stains. I leave the hotel and call Priceline and let them know the hotel they advertised online looked nothing like the hotel I was waiting in. I asked for them to please help us into another hotel, to do an exchange or even offer me a partial refund.
I told multiple people over the phone that the area is unsafe, that the hotel was dirty and I wasn't comfortable leaving the rental car in that outdoor lot. Instead of helping they called the hotel and then told me the attendant said they hadn't had problems in a year. The person on the phone said there was nothing that they could do because the hotel didn't want to refund any money. I kept asking Priceline to help me out as I'd used their services when booking hotels before. They flat out refused. We weren't going to stay in a dirty and unsafe place so I found a hotel in a safer part of town that was clean for approximately $25 more dollars than what Priceline charged me for that gross and unsafe hotel. Priceline refused to help me or refund my money. They are horrible.

Not only did I get a hotel 11.0 miles from where I could have gotten a hotel, it was $30 more per night by naming my own price than if I would have booked it without the "Name your own Price". What a scam. I had used them in the past but over time there are no deals to be had. I called Customer Service and they were basically saying, "buyer beware... you were warned. It was non-refundable". Little did I know I was signing up to be in an area I didn't want to be, and pay higher than if I would have gotten the hotel myself. I'm done with Priceline... never again.

Priceline is a huge fraud and is taking its customers for a ride when it comes to hotel booking especially in the 2.5 star ratings group. There is absolutely no way that Extended Stay can be regarded as a 2.5 star hotel and Priceline has done exactly the same. Priceline, along with Extended Stay is ripping off the customers especially in the express deals section. If you see a disgusting, unclean, unhygienic and cheap hotel like Extended Stay, shockingly in a 2.5 star group, rest assured that will be the hotel that will accept your bid.
One such experience I had recently with Priceline and Extended Stay (Lombard-Yorktown) in Illinois. Although it was included in the 2.5 star group on Priceline there was nothing about the hotel that can be regarded even as a 2 star hotel. Dirty bed, towels, linens, Hair everywhere, some of the rudest people in hoteling business. Priceline needs to correctly group the hotels on its website, but instead is collaborating with these cheap hotels by placing them in higher star groups and making money. I would recommend to go with hotels.com or Hotwire. Hotwire provides a similar service like express deals as well.

After booking, the confirmation of my non-cancellable booking stated the charge was in US$ which is over 25% more than Canadian $. I live in Canada, booked in Canada, have stayed at the hotel in Canada many times over the years and am flabbergasted over this crooked activity. Priceline is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I booked a room that said pay now or pay when you arrive. I chose to pay when I arrived, however they took the money immediately. Their ad says they guarantee the lowest price or they will refund your money. I found a price 20 dollars cheaper and called them and told them about the price difference and the payment option. Their response was, "Oh well, sorry about your luck" and hung up on me. I called a little later thinking maybe I would get better assistance, but no such luck. So they lied about refunding if a better price is found, and paying when we arrive. Due to their poor business practices it has caused me 400 in bounced check fees. Would NEVER recommend them not even to my dog.

I was looking for a room for 4 people with two beds. Their express deal popped up and I decided to click on it. They won't show you what you're booking until you pay for it. Trusting that I was booking the room that I asked for I paid for it. Received the email from them only letting me know what hotel I booked a room in and what basic amenities they offer (no info on the room). So I decided to call the hotel and found out I just booked a room with only one bed and they can't do anything about it because I booked with Priceline.
Called Priceline to only find out they won't offer any refund, even though it had only been less than 15 minutes. Worst company I ever booked through, would not recommend them at all. They are a bunch of con artists looking to make a quick dollar and not really worried about anything else. I would suggest to use hotels.com or kayak instead.

For years I have used Priceline around the world. I give Priceline a tremendous amount of business. I notice that there are a number of complaints related to the number of stars used to describe a hotel. These complaints are accurate and need to be addressed. I am currently staying in the Washington suburbs of Northern Virginia. I have used Priceline's "Name your Own Price" many times in this area. Extended Stays are 2 Star Properties. 2 1/2 Star properties are typically a Hampton Inn, Springfield Inn, or Holiday Inn Express standard. 2 1/2 Star properties are nice with modern, clean rooms and with a nice workout center. They are business appropriate.
Priceline now includes Extended Stay as a 2 1/2 Star property. Extended Stay properties in this area are not by any definition 2 1/2 Star properties based on the criteria Priceline was using up until this point. The one that Priceline has sold me is filled with prostitutes (I was propositioned on the way to my room) and appears to have homeless families living here. I would like to hear Priceline's response, but if I call their number I get a call center in the Philippines and a written statement read to me. I am told that my fee cannot be refunded. I hate to say it, but in my layman's opinion this borderlines consumer fraud.

Well, after calling the airline (flight to Canada from US) I was told to call Priceline. Seriously, I waited for over 50 minutes two different times. There is truly no Priceline customer service. Who would've think lol... Anyway, I was sent a credit card from priceline.com for a substantial amount. I used it for about a year and then I paid all my cards off. Well I decided to transfer some bills from other cards I had. So I called the priceline.com phone number to speak to a representative about 4 cards I wanted to transfer. I could have easily done 3 of them online, but I wanted to do all four. Well I began speaking with a help person from Priceline. She asked a few personal questions, of which I answered correctly. Oh did I mention I have a deeper voice than some females. Anyway, I guess that was the issue. She then said I needed to speak with a supervisor, which I said, "sure no problem."
So the supervisor ask me some random questions about houses and past cars I had owned. I answered all of them with no problem. Well, he then passed me back to a regular representative, which again sent me to a supervisor after asking me more questions, in which I answered correctly. Well after about 4 supervisors and 3 regular workers, I gave up. They, Priceline, then locked my online account. I tried to do the transfers but it said I needed to call first. So I again tried calling and had the exact same thing happen again. I finally gave up. I just cant believe in America, because a gay woman has a deeper voice or different race, anything could be used to not allow me access to my account. Apparently at Priceline, you need to be all American, no gay, no **, no hispanics, etc. I really thought we were past all this in the year 2016.
I cannot believe a company can do such things based on a phone conversation. I never had any issues with any of the other 24 credit cards I have. Not sure why the ACLU or whoever watches for these things hasn't done something about these guys. I'm not sure who to call. If anyone or any organization wants to help me in a court case or otherwise against these guys, priceline.com, you're more than welcome to contact me... I rented a car for 3 days through Priceline (Dollar Car Rental) for the express purpose of having a lower priced rental. The original deal online had stated the car would be $15 a day. When we arrived at the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport Dollar Rental Car counter to pick up our car, the paperwork we were to sign stated that the total rental would be $260 plus change. I did agree to have the minimal car insurance added for $11 a day, which still, in my mind, did not add up to $260 for 3 days of a car rental. I rent cars on a very regular basis for my job. The lady at the counter pointed out the numerous taxes and additional fees, which seemed very exorbitant, but we needed a car so we agreed to the $260 charge. We returned the car in the time frame that we agreed, but there was no one at the Dollar Car Rental Car Return when we got there, so we had to leave out keys in a drop box with the information, which we did.
Two weeks after we returned the car (with a full tank of gas, might add), I checked my credit card statement for the charge. To my shock and amazement, I had been charged $444.60 by Priceline for my 3 day car rental!! I called my bank and protested the charges. My bank contacted Priceline, who gave the following explanation for huge increase in charge: On the date that I rented my car, there had been an increase in the daily rental fee, thus that is why there was the $444.60 charge versus the agreed upon $260.00. When I rented the car, the agreed upon price for the three days was $260 and there was NEVER a mention of the daily rate being different. But, Priceline agreed to lower the charge and refund me $185.25 of the $444.60. I am waiting to see if they actually follow through and refund what they are supposed to!
Moral of this story is: Priceline and Dollar Car Rental would have happily and wrongly overcharged me, and severely I might add, for this car rental if I hadn't checked my credit card statement AND then gone through my bank to protest the charges. How many other people are getting ripped off by this company? It is not only bad business, but hugely dishonest. I will NEVER use Priceline or Dollar Car Rental again, nor should anyone else. And if you do chose to use them, make sure you check your bank statements!

This town had almost all of the hotel rooms booked, took another 30 mins very late at night to find a room for my husband and 2 young children. I was told by the hotel attendant that I would not be charged until he took my card which he did not.
I checked the next day and noticed I was charged for the room on my account. I called the original number I had on my email, then I was transferred 3 times, had to give a different number each time, then was transferred to an outsourced customer service rep I could hardly understand due to a thick accent, when I spoke to the specialist with Agoda after 35 minutes of waiting and being transferred, he wanted a different number he told me I could find it on the email that was sent, I was traveling talking on my cell phone and could not look at my email and talk on the phone at the same time, he told me to call back when I had the number. Really?
So I now have to hang up find the number you want, call back and wait another 20-30 minutes or more to talk to a person to get these charges reversed. I requested a supervisor multiple times he would not let me talk to anyone else. Luckily, I was able to find the correct number from the 3 numbers that I found on the email I had wrote down. I did get the charges removed and an offer for a hotel room in the same state. But I was not vacationing in that state nor do I live in that state. I will never use the "free night". I will never use this site or any other site like this in the future. I feel this was all very inconvenient and received little compensation for the company and hotel's mistake. I used Priceline for the first and last time recently for travel to my son's graduation, a once in a lifetime event which I hoped would be without problems but thanks to Priceline and a complete lack of service and timeliness this did not occur. I used my debit card to pay for my rental online which I have done many times in the last 10 years. Priceline deducted my fee of $213.67 from my card and I knew because it was debit. I would be withheld a deposit upon rental which I'd anticipated from my previous travel. Upon arrival, I went to get my car and was told because of the type of bank my debit card was through, I couldn't rent the car! After hours spent on the phone, I was told by representatives whom I could barely understand that they wouldn't be able to immediately refund my money and would have a "research team" call Avis to confirm the car wasn't rented and begin my refund. After which I was to receive a phone call. This was to take up to 10 business days.
After days of frustration and hours of phone time wasted, I was told I would receive my refund on June 3rd. That day arrived and I checked my debit card and was not surprised to find my money was not returned! I again had to waste hours on the phone, angrily berating the Priceline reps for the "research team" not doing what would have taken an hour at best to do yet after 10 business days NOTHING WAS DONE!! So I was told the "supervisor" would call Avis to confirm the non-rental and I would receive a phone call. Two hours later, no phone call, just as the "research team" was supposed to. Upon finally being told I would have my money after another 3 days of waiting, I told the supervisor I demanded a call and letter of apology from corporate customer relations which I was told I would receive at some point but upon checking my email on June 11th, still nothing.
My biggest issue here and I made my point with every rep I spoke to, was that they should not be taking people's money if the card they were happy to withdraw from was not a card I could rent a car from. I was assured this would be rectified (which I doubt will happen). The entire process from the day I couldn't rent the car till I actually received the funds back on my card took 24 days!! Completely unacceptable service and business practices on their part and I urge all who read this to stay away from Priceline unless you enjoy being inconvenienced (to say the least!) and unattended as a "valued" customer. Fooled me once. No more. Please do not do business with Priceline. Thank you.

After a few days they called to say they could NOT honor the price, even though I pre-paid and had an email confirmation. Said it was a mistake in their system and they could not honor it. They asked me to cancel. I refused, since it was their mistake they had to honor it. They said they would escalate the issue to a manager but never did. They continued to call and email me (harass me) to cancel it, each time promising to escalate. I was finally afraid that I would show up at the hotel and they would not honor my reservation so I booked another hotel (NOT through Priceline) and allowed them to cancel my reservation.

Priceline will charge you knowing that a hotel is overbooked. And then give you the run-around to get a refund, after several calls... And you'll be dealing with an overseas call center, Agoda. The mere fact that they have an option for overbooked hotels on their automated phone system which I didn't learn until I needed to call for a refund speaks volumes.

Put in a bid with Priceline for a three star hotel for two nights in Sacramento. Got in late, went to the hotel and it was not even a one star hotel. The smell was horrible and the decor hadn't been changed since the early seventies. We left and got another hotel since we were locked in by Priceline. I notified Priceline. They took a week and tell me the hotel won't do anything. I told them this wasn't the hotel’s fault, it was Priceline's for not meeting their deal and giving me a three star hotel. This went on for two weeks. Now they don't respond. I feel Priceline lies about reviewing hotels and they woke back up guarantee some. They are a horrible company to work with.

I received my confirmation, but 2 days later I received a call from Priceline stating that my reservation was not valid due to a computer glitch. I was told that the rate wasn't accurate and that the hotel wouldn't honor the reservation. I'm not sure how their computer glitch would make the hotel not honor my reservation. I think that they lost money and blamed it on the hotel. It is neither the hotels nor my problem, but as it is they wouldn't budge. Their price guarantee is bogus. I did the "name your own price" for a mid-sized car the same size as a Chevy Avenger. I won a bid with Hertz for $19/day. When I arrived at Hertz I was given a compact car, Ford Fiesta. Hertz contended Priceline does not know the sizes of the cars in their inventory and they have no mid-sized cars. I was given a Dodge Charger which is one of their "Specialty Cars" for an additional $15/day upgrade. I just wanted a normal mid-sized car, not a specialty car. Hertz told me they have no mid-sized cars and my only options were the Charger or the Ford Fiesta. I called Priceline and was told me they cannot guarantee the make and model of the car. I told them it appears to me they guaranteed the size of the car. I'll never use Hertz or Priceline again.

I booked a trip with Priceline to take some classes in NC. When it was time for me to leave I packed my jeep and when I went to start it, it wouldn't start. I tried to have it fixed immediately but that wasn't possible. After I realized it couldn't be fixed until the next day I called the hotel to cancel. They said I had been charged in full by Priceline and I would have to call them. I called, and the girl told me customer service was top priority then asked how she could help. I explained the situation. She then informed me that because I had already paid the 259.88 that I could cancel but it would cost 260 to do so. I asked her if she was serious. She said she was. I told her I would never deal with them again and that customer service was not top priority.
I called back the next morning to see if I could get someone different that would actually help me. This time I was told, "IF YOU HAD CANCELLED THE DAY BEFORE YOU BOOKED WE COULD HELP YOU". I told her that was impossible. She said, "Yep, it is so we can't refund your money." I told her that this company was very shady and it must have made her mad because she literally yelled over top of me talking and said, "Well it was your choice to book with us, anything else I can help you with???" I said, "Yeah, I want to speak to your manager." In a very smart, arrogant tone she said, "Suuure." Unfortunately, I got the same attitude from the supervisor. This is not even possible using the Kayak app. This is a total scam. Nowhere did it say that the check-in time was 3 pm until after I received my confirmation. I understand there is a "no refund policy" but at no point did it say that if I wanted to check in right now I would have to pay an additional $60 fee. To cancel they then told me to call Priceline. I did so. Priceline of course said they must follow the policy here (no refunds).
Then they called the hotel and told me the cancellation fee would be 101. THE SAME COST OF THE ROOM+BOOKING. Asked for his supervisor. Supervisor then told me she will call the hotel again. The hotel again said they are unable to issue a refund but someone from sales will be there on Monday who I can speak to. So now I am out $100 dollars for a room for tomorrow night, no room for tonight and unable to talk to anyone who can help me get a refund for a room I cannot use. Booked a car rental using Priceline.com for a vehicle to be picked up at the Phoenix airport on 5/25/16. Priceline.com charged my credit card 184.00 for the car rental prior to the pickup date. After a grueling 6 hour flight from Kentucky to Arizona, I went to the Hertz rental car counter to pick up the vehicle. At which time I was told that there was a fee to add my spouse to the rental agreement as a driver and that he would need to provide a credit card with his name on it for incidentals. I went ahead and did all this and then they told me to provide a credit card with my name on it for the 300 hold that was required for the vehicle.
Since this was a military move I had put my U-Haul on the credit card and had to use a different credit card with my name on it. Hertz told me that I needed to use the credit card that I used to purchase the rental car thru Priceline.com. Since I could not use that credit card I could not get the rental car I already paid for. I was left stranded at the Phoenix Airport in 100 degree with my cat who desperately needed water and food.
Please do not get scammed by the cheap prices that they so call offer. This whole experience ended up costing me an additional 25 in cab fare plus 306.00 car rental with Enterprise and not to mention the 184.00 that I am currently fighting with Priceline to get reimbursed. I truly believe that some government agency needs to look into all these complaints and file fraud charges against this organization. very disturbing that all these complaints are similar and no agency has looked into these complaints in order to protect the rights of the consumer from being scammed through fraudulent business practices.

I booked a car rental reservation for 5/15 on 2/2/16. I was unable to make the trip due to a death. I called and asked for a refund/Credit. They said that if I had called before the death they might consider my request, but because I called on 5/18 (when I had recovered myself sufficiently to function) they could not consider my request. I spoke with 3 representatives and 3 supervisors on two occasions. It was, frankly, more than unbelievable. It was disheartening to be forced to listen to barely intelligible but fixed policies read off a policy manual stating that my reservation was non-refundable, non-changeable, non-cancellable.
I responded that there was a death. I was required to perform the funeral on 5/15, thus I was unable to take the planned trip. They responded that if I had called before the death there may have been something they could do for/with me. I responded that what I was hearing them say is that if my person had had the courtesy of dying earlier thus allowing me to cancel the trip before the 15th instead of on the 18th they may consider my request. They agreed. I expressed to priceline that I regretted that my person was so impolite as to die leaving insufficient time to cancel, change my reservation. They responded that was their policy.
I just got off the phone with my credit card company, chase, who spoke with priceline in order to dispute the charge. Priceline reiterated to my chase representative that their policy was that the reservation was unchangeable, etc. Amazingly, chase stated that even if they disputed the charge they, too, would be bound by the "policy", to which I had agreed. Apparently at the time I made the reservation I agreed to the policy. I do not recall that I DID so. Of course I will never ever, ever deal with priceline again. Because chase also allowed policy to trump death and insulted me by offering me a $15 credit against a $41 charge, I will change credit card companies as well. I will write to william shatner with a copy of this review in the event he might Wish to distance himself from this heartless and soulless operation.

I rented a car under my name from Hertz using Priceline.com. A week before the rental, I inquired at Hertz about adding my 23-year-old daughter to the rental agreement, so we could share driving for this planned road trip. I could not do all of the driving by myself. Hertz said there would be a fee for adding a driver, and an additional fee for a driver under 25, which was fine with me. They instructed me to add my daughter at the Hertz counter when I picked up the car. So, when I arrived at Hertz, first, they temporarily charged my credit card an additional $200 deposit that Hertz nor Priceline previously told me about; second, they would not allow me to add my daughter. They said it was a Priceline rule - the driver had to be 25 years old. So, I phoned Priceline - which was difficult to do because their phone system did not recognize my Priceline Trip Number nor the phone number that I used to make the reservation. That was a red flag that they were scam-ish.
Why wouldn't their own system not recognize my reservation number? When I finally reached a live person, I explained the problem and she assured me that Priceline had no age restriction on drivers under 25 years old, and she explained that there would be an additional fee, etc., and that I should contact the local Hertz manager at the Atlanta airport (vice the 800 number Hertz manager). Fine, I call the local Hertz office and after a day long of phone tag, I talked to a manager and she assures me that if I return to the airport Hertz everything will be taken care of.
The next day, I go back to the Hertz counter at the Atlanta airport, ask for a manager--they still would not add my daughter. This was well into day-two of my ruined road trip vacation. Needless to say, after three days of calling both Hertz and Priceline, and getting nowhere, we abandoned our vacation plans because we certainly did not want my daughter to risk driving the vehicle. To this day, I don't know why my daughter was not allowed to be added. She has a valid driver's license and no issues with her driving record. We were baffled and had no recourse whatsoever. From the start, we could not cancel the rental because we were going to be charged the rental fee whether we took the car or not. We were left heart-broken, disappointed, and scammed out of our vacation, and nobody at Hertz or Priceline.com cared.

No, you won't be 'charged' for your flight if they don't accept the flight that they lead you to choose based on the options they put in front of you... but your funds will be 'pre-authorized' and held for up to 7 business days. I've used Priceline for years. I have never had an issue. I've referred friends and have always gave positive reviews. I went to book my annual holiday this year and TWICE... I selected what flights they told me were available and by the time I reached the checkout, they were not available any longer. I was asked to choose a different one and again... and again... until finally, on the third try, one of the more expensive options went all the way to checkout.
No problem? Right? NO. After they finally accepted my choices and I checked out... I went to look at my credit card activity. All THREE charges were on my account. I called the number on their contact page... cannot get to a human being. The automated teller could tell me the trip numbers that were not valid but any attempt to get to the billing department and I was hung up on. Email didn't work either. An automated email returned with a help desk ticket promising they would reach out within 12 hours... nothing.
Chat was a little better but that is when I learned that I have to wait up to 7 business days before they let go of my funds for both declined flights and remove the authorization... nearly $4000 tied up on my credit cards for "Pre-authorizations"... even AFTER being told multiple times there would be no 'charge'. That's deceptive, as far as I'm concerned... there is nothing in any fine print that I have been able to find to tell me my funds will be held if the flight ends up not being available once you get to checkout. Next year, I will be looking for a new place to purchase my flight. I promise.

I have never used Priceline before, I've always used Travelocity and been pleased with their prices and customer service. Why I tried Priceline, I don't know. YOU SHOULD KNOW once you book a hotel, 1) YOU WILL BE IMMEDIATELY CHARGED THE FULL PRICE for the reservation and 2) YOU CAN'T CANCEL OR CHANGE the reservation, or you will be charged FULL PRICE. No cancellations. Then 3) when you try to contact them, you will go round and round in an endless loop of the system not being able to find your reservation, then finding it, then asking for your phone number, then not able to find it again. There is no option to speak to a live representative. You have to get an "approved request" to talk to someone.
It won't matter. From the canned verbiage in the "live chat," Priceline gets this complaint ALL THE TIME, and they don't care. "You agree to the terms," even though the terms were unlike any site or hotel I've seen. I've saved my incredibly frustrating live chat log where I promise them I will never ever use Priceline again and their response was, "You purchased your reservation, you agreed to those terms." With a no cancellation/no change policy, the hotel fare was not worth the few dollars I saved. Use another company or go through the hotel directly. Be aware that some of the tickets you buy from Priceline do not allow you to pick your seats until you check in the day before your flight. I booked two flights on Delta through Priceline. Both tickets turned out to be "basic economy", which is lower than regular economy. When I checked in the day before my flight I found out that the two seats I had bought at the same time were assigned in two different rows. That meant my wife and I were five rows apart.
Not getting a seat assignment until the day before your flight means that everyone else who can get a seat assignment has picked their seats and you may not get anything but the leftovers. It is possible that you can get your seats changed at the airport, but the airline wouldn't guarantee it. I was fortunate that Delta was willing to change the seat assignments for both flights so that my wife and I could sit together. They don't normally do that but I was able to persuade them. I booked a flight on United through Priceline and there was no problem at all choosing my seats before check-in. Different airlines, different policies, different ticket class.

Booked a room at what was advertised on the site as a 2 1/2 star hotel. It wasn't even close. Maybe one star motel at best. Was solicited by the site for a review and supplied same. Review did not show up on the site even though reviews of travelers who stayed after me did. Wrote customer service about it and got this reply: "When you filled out your survey, we disclosed that your review of your recent hotel stay at the Vero Beach Inn & Suites may be posted on our website; however, we did not guarantee that it will be posted. All reviews are first read by the appropriate department, and then they will decide which reviews to post." So it's clear that they pick and choose reviews that make their ratings seem legit. DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!

I booked my flight through Priceline website and 1 week later my daughter wanted to join me so I called Priceline to ensure she would be assigned a seat beside me on both our departure flight and return flight. The agent assured me that we were seated together. I called the airline 24 hours before my flight to check in and found that we were seated nowhere near each other and was instructed to call Priceline back. I then called Priceline only to be transferred several times and on the phone for over an hour. The representative told me I was seated beside her so I call the airline again while the Priceline representative is on speaker phone to confirm this and again the airline states that Priceline never confirmed my seating assignments causing me to lose the seat and the only seats beside each other would cost an additional $60.00.
I talk to the Priceline agent who heard every word the airline agent just said only to tell me there was nothing they could do because the initial Priceline agent did put me beside my daughter but the airline has the discretion to change it. I told her, the airline did not say that and I know you heard them say Priceline never confirmed my seats causing me to lose the seats. Again the Priceline representative said there was nothing she could do unless I wanted to pay extra. I expressed I should not have to pay extra to fix their error and asked to speak to a supervisor. The Priceline agent put me back through the queue where I Sat on hold for an additional 30 minutes. I will never book through Priceline again and will ensure to tell everyone I know about my experience so that they may seek another source for their travel needs.

Ridiculous service. I called customer service to ask for a change to a flight and couldn't get the right schedule so they offered a refund for that leg of the trip and told me to book my return flight again. A few months later, no refund was issued on my credit card, so I called to follow up. There's countless excuses as to why there will not be a refund - the airline declined it (when I paid Priceline), "Oh... your flight is non-refundable" (yes it is, because the customer service guy even told me how much would be refunded after deducting their 'fees'), etc. etc. Now, I've been on the phone with them for over 5 hours on multiple occasions to 'figure it out'... always postpone answer, or blame on the airline. PRICELINE... I paid YOU... YOU said you were going to get the refund for me... YOU are responsible!

I booked an impromptu getaway for myself, my wife, and daughter last minute thru Priceline. It seemed odd that next to no one was at the hotel. Something seemed a bit "off" throughout the night. We were told there were only 3 other people staying there, but we kept seeing odd men around. After doing some digging (we were getting increasingly creeped out) we found out that this hotel is actually a treatment facility for homeless male addicts! I could not believe this. This hotel houses 50 men! THIS is where I took my wife and 6 year old daughter for a relaxing getaway!
I contacted Priceline because I was beyond disturbed that they market this hotel without disclosing this fact. After 4 different contact attempts spanning two weeks they finally told me that they weren't issuing a refund! Since the hotel wouldn't, they would not either. I am disgusted by these practices. NOWHERE in their description was it ever mentioned that the Port Labelle Inn was actually a residential treatment facility for addicts! I am disgusted with Priceline and the fact that they not only condone, but apparently reward the sneaky unethical behavior of hiding this fact! Shame on them! We went away again this weekend (happens a lot) and booked thru Hotels.com. We learned our lesson, and will never book through Priceline again. Despicable.

YES SMALLER INTERIOR CABIN! I am not happy at all. I always thought that a interior room was the same on all ships, well they are NOT! Make sure you ask when making reservations especially on the Oasis. Usually we always purchase an interior cabin and we love cruising with RC. But, I really did not want a smaller cabin 7 days with a smaller cabin. This information needs to be stated on both websites and this need to be communicated to the travel agents. I consider myself an well informed cruise shopper/buyer. However, after dealing with Priceline Cruises, I am completely in awe of the scam they are running! The crazy thing is it works! They got me and my $124.99! On 3 different occasions I was quoted one price only to never receive a written quote (forgot to send, "family emergency when I hung up after our call", "I've been off for two days", "oh I quoted the wrong ship", "I'm sorry I sent the wrong invoice") followed by the most ridiculous line of crap. I am truly considering contacting an attorney.
Here's my story condensed. Saw the Vacation Outlet cruise price through google search. Called on April 18 and got a great quote on a Royal Caribbean Cruise. Called on Apr. 19 salesman "couldn't seem to find that quote". By the way, the reason I can be specific is, I take notes when I plan a vacation. Lol. When he couldn't seem to find that great quote from last night he came up with something comparable and blew it off as RC is always changing promotions. When quoted initially I was assigned a midship portside balcony. After I reviewed the invoice (overlooking the cabin assignment) I accepted it and made the purchase. Only two days ago did I check my notes and the cabin assignments to find I had been quoted cabin #11184 and it changed to cabin 8224.
Two days later I had to change our cruise to a month later. Same cruise ship basically same itinerary. I called my salesman. "Oh yes. No problem. I want to make this a smooth and simple switch. I've got a call holding. I will call you as soon as I'm finished." I guess he was finishing that call for 3 days. I got an email from him late that night saying "The switch has been made. I will send you an invoice." I was dumbfounded. That's all I received! No quote. Nothing. No invoice for 3 days. He was off so I waited.
When we spoke again he couldn't produce an invoice or quote from our conversation. At this point I realized I had a real problem and I needed to slow way down. It always worked out to be in his favor. $50-$100 each time he couldn't produce the quote. And of course one of the credits would be gone. "Royal Caribbean cancelled that one also", was what I heard several times. Lol. I shopped around a little for the next couple of days and got another good quote from Priceline on the cruise I was switching to.
Final chapter. Tues April 26 7 pm. After speaking with the salesman we agreed on a cabin guarantee room for $2261.47 with $290 OBC. "I will send you the invoice." He never sent it. I emailed him on Wed to have him call me to get all the details correct. He was off Wed and Thurs. He never called. I received an invoice Friday about 3pm. The invoice was for a different category guarantee cabin and get this, the amount is $2554.47. I called my salesman 3 times. No answer and no return call. I called customer service and explained the discrepancy. Put me on hold "spoke with him. He will call you asap". 45 min no call.
During all the waiting I'm detailing the invoice and that's when I see the dagger: In addition to the above fees charged by the cruise line (which in my case is $0) PRICELINE CHARGES A $100 CANCELLATION FEE AND THE $24.99 PROCESSING/ADMINISTRATIVE FEE IS NONREFUNDABLE. I called customer service again. Once again explaining my dilemma. She wasn't really rude but had more of a disdain for me. I had to basically recreate the quote for her because she couldn't find anything that matched what he quoted me. This time she actually connected me with my salesman.
After the initial vomiting of excuses he acted as if he had no idea what was going on. Once again, he had nothing on the quote that we had agreed on. After working with him for over an hour he finally matched the quote. Then an hour later I get the invoice. Seriously! The invoice did not match what we had just agreed on! I had to call him and make the corrections. Now, I just sent the email to cancel. I'm including it here.
After considering this entire process of purchasing a cruise from Priceline, I wish to cancel. After looking back through my notes of the different options we discussed, I realized there were at least 3 occasions when you quoted me a price and upon calling back to discuss that specific quote or invoice request you couldn't duplicate what we had spoken about. Also, I find it odd that I never received any written quote from you. This is absolutely the worst vacation purchase experience I've ever had.
I have always enjoyed cruise shopping and educating myself before I make an informed decision. Because of that I have always made a well informed confident decision knowing that I got a fair deal. Not today. Whether intentional or unintentional, the practice of quoting me one thing tonight and then telling me something entirely different tomorrow is deceptive. Also, I know your company will take $100 from me along with your $24.99 processing administrative fee to cancel this cruise but I will grudgingly and angrily accept that and take comfort in knowing I have learned a valuable lesson that I will pass on to others.
After reading many customer reviews on Priceline and its tactics I know that this isn't a unique situation to my purchase. Some reviews described almost word for word the way my quote process and purchase took place. As of today, April 30, 2016 cancel my invoice. Also, please return my $124.99 down payment. Do not charge my Visa that you have attached to this invoice any amount from today forward. This includes your previously authorized scheduled payment of $400.

I recently went online to book what I thought was an easy trip to Victoria BC. The trip included airfare and hotel for 1 week. I used the Priceline.com website clicked holiday vacation and started my search for the hotel and flights. I found the hotel and then proceeded to sort through flights. In the process of booking my package their website hung up on me and giving me a pop-up message "Not responding. Try back again in a few minutes." I was later successful in getting the vacation booked and received a confirmation email. A few weeks after booking this trip I was alerted by my credit card company fraud department of a possible problem so I contacted Priceline customer service. They review my booking and confirmed the hotel and flights. They also alerted me of a second stand-alone hotel booking for the same dates and location.
After being passed around from one person to another I was put on line with a partner company Agoda who held the stand-alone reservation which I didn't book. I was told it was non-refundable even though I hadn't booked the stand-alone hotel. I called Priceline customer service back and was told basically that they couldn't do anything. I wasn't able to cancel the stand-alone hotel which I didn't book or remove the hotel portion off the combination hotel/flight package that I actually did book. I asked that the matter be elevated and was told they couldn't do it but eventually after being a pain was transferred to a so-called supervisor. This person was as useless as the last but finally agreed to send an email to management or so she says. I have yet to hear anything.
Frustrated I called the hotel direct and spoke with a manager who in fact confirmed the double booking error. One was through Agoda and the other through Torico neither of which I had any dealings with or so I thought. It seems Priceline has partners and behind the scenes your booking request get linked to these other partners. Obviously a glitch in the process created 2 hotel bookings for me which I'm told are both non-refundable yet I only booked 1 flight and 1 hotel through Priceline. I also contacted my credit card company fraud department back and made a formal complaint against Priceline because that is who is charging the credit card company.
The easy solution would be for Priceline to admit the error and to cancel the double booked stand-alone reservation generated by their website. Instead they want to just pass you off from one CS rep to another in hopes you get frustrated and just pay for something you didn't order. This is totally unacceptable business practice, unacceptable customer service and the website should be closed down.

My family of 12 were traveling together to attend a wedding. We traveled from Maryland to Savannah GA. 12 people, 4 cars, 4 dogs. We booked a couple PET FRIENDLY hotel rooms at the Quality Inn in Richmond Hill GA. It was $500.80 for two nights. The confirmation email stated: 2 double beds, pull out couch, non-smoking, pet friendly rooms. When we get there, they are charging extra fees for the pet fees. $20 per pet per night when we already paid extra for pet friendly rooms. So we pay the fees anyways. We get into the room and there was roaches, dirty sheets, smelled horrible and only two beds, no pullout couch for the 5th person in each room to sleep. Priceline said there was a floor to make a bed there. So we decided that we were not staying there anymore. Keep in mind this is at midnight after driving all day. So then Priceline says that we cannot cancel our reservation - that if we did we would still be out the money we already paid.
The hotel was okay with a full refund, but we paid through Priceline, and they said no. Then after arguing with Priceline for about a hour over the phone they said they would refund all but $250. Absolutely not. We were only in these rooms for about 3 minutes. After arguing for ANOTHER hour on the phone and threatening to contact the BBB, they finally refunded our full amount. Now, it's 2:30 AM, we had 4 cars full of people and pets, all tired out of $600 (to be returned in 7-14 business days) and out of hotel rooms on a Friday night, at the beach, during spring break.
After they returned the money, they still took the $250 fee. We finally got that taken care of. Now $850 on hold in the bank, 10 hours away from home... It was the WORST customer service we have EVER had in our life, and we will NEVER use Priceline again. They were rude, and said that it was our fault that all that happened. They also had the hotel listed at a 3 star. When we got there it was a 1 star. Don't trust them!!

Hence, I have asked them to change my reservation to a different date. In this case, I was aware that I have to bear the difference amount along with the $200 cancellation fee. The representative gave me a shocking fare for the new ticket. Their website itself shows a much more less fare for the same flight. And it is the same on Etihad's website when I asked why am I being charged so much more the representative gives a rude reply that the fares online are discounted ones and I don't understand how the discount doesn't apply to returning customers?
And it's silly that the price they offer me is far higher than the carrier's quote! I am an international student and hardly make a thousand a month, going to India is a once in 2 years event for me. It is very sad that the company doesn't respect their customer's interest, instead takes advantage of my situation and charges me more. The saddest part is the trip protection that I have brought with the ticket is of no use in this case, just a trick to steal more money. I found out later that the price they charged were the same if you had gone directly to the hotel but that was not the issue. The issue was that my wife found out that she would not be in the area the first day so she called up Priceline to cancel the first night and get a refund. The gentleman on the phone was polite but it took a while and then said that she had to call the hotel to cancel the first night to get a refund. She did that and the hotel said that they cannot see what Priceline charged and that the final bill will only be generated at check-out and if she stayed 2 nights instead of 3 nights, that is what the bill will state. I told my wife to call back Priceline to confirm this and she did and was told by Priceline that if the hotel is going to charge 2 nights, then she's going to be charged 2 nights.
Needless to say, she was charged 3 nights! My wife called the hotel and they said the bill was for 2 nights and they cannot see what Priceline charged. Now I'm upset cause there's a huge eerie possibility of missing my flight which is throwing away money which no one wants at all. MAYBE BE MORE OF A BENEFIT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND THEY WILL REMAIN. BUT AS OF NOW I AM NO LONGER A CUSTOMER!!! RUN. Do not book through this site.

Booked a flight from LGA to New Orleans (MSY) and the flight was re-scheduled. Called Priceline customer service to change my flight because the new time did not match my schedule and he called several different departments etc. and said I could change my flight from July 2nd to July 1st (that's after an hour of waiting). He then said he had to call the airline and made me wait for another 45 minutes and then came back to tell me that I need to pay $200/person and additional fees of $30/person to change my flight, which is more than buying a new ticket for the new time/date I was looking at. It is just absolutely ridiculous to make it sound like the schedule can be changed with no penalties and then come back after 2 hours with entirely different information. He could have saved my time by relaying the correct regulations and terms from the start and the extent to which they can make changes rather than misleading me for a whole 2 hours.

I've been reading a lot of bad reviews about Priceline. I've rented a car twice from them using the Name Your Own Price tool. Both times they didn't accept my original price but did accept my 2nd offer. This 2nd price was still less expensive than any other price I could find. I knew upfront about their cancellation policy and also knew upfront about the $200 security hold on my credit card. I also knew upfront they'd charge my credit card immediately should my offer be accepted. I recommended Priceline for car rentals to a friend and she had no problems either. She knew everything upfront, too. We both like them.

Sorry but Priceline my life and health is worth more than 5% discount. My experience those two hours were a nightmare and unsafe and you can't reimbursed me with the amount that I paid for that night. It seems that your customers don't matter too much. It's a joke for Priceline to even try to give a customer 5% discount when I experienced a horrible time when I checked in. It doesn't matter what your customers experience at a hotel you reserved. And the one thing is that at the time of booking you couldn't give no type of information about the hotel. I was going to stay at intel it was paid for. That's a robbery and not correct. So if I would've known that I was going to go to a drug, roaches, and bedbug infestation I would've not booked my night with this hotel.
Priceline doesn't give out any type of information about the hotel until it's paid. So how would I read their policy if I wasn't able to read it until I got charged. It's not correct and that's how Priceline does business. Cheats their customers by not showing any type of information and location of the hotel until it's paid for. There's no way of knowing.
Just to let Priceline know that I'm not satisfied with their ways of doing business and not returning my $50 that paid. So I'll be going to take this situation to a higher level of authority and it will be known through all media about how you conduct your business and how you don't show no information of the hotel until it's paid for. Not even giving a chance to cancel it then after it's paid. You send the information showing the hotel information and if it's not a safe place to stay, oh well it's paid and no cancellation allowed. That's robbery Priceline.
So if the $50 is worth more than your value, customers and reputation and if it doesn't matter if this issue goes to a higher authority that's what will happen and I'll make sure that it gets to be heard. How you book unsafe rooms to customers and not let them see where they will be staying at before they get charged. So I don't need your 5% discount coupon. I will make this a nationwide issue through the news and internet. This will be more investigated than this. I would like this to be resolved correctly not as a joke. Thank you. I asked for a receipt for the hotel and they didn't give me one. They said, “Sorry we can't give you a receipt.” And laughed at me. Very disrespectful.

It is confusing because throughout their website, they state repeatedly that only car rentals that are made with a bid are non-cancellable. It's a deceptive practice that needs to be stopped. I've booked hotel at Mystic, CT via "name your own price" on Priceline.com. I've selected the area and desired number of stars 3.5 Upscale Plus to bid on hotel room. Priceline gives examples of 3.5 star hotels: Hyatt, Hilton, Sheraton, Marriott, etc. I "won" the hotel "Inn at Mystic" located at 3 Williams Avenue, Mystic, CT 06355. The reviews and real pictures from travelers on TripAdvisor, Yelp shows that "Inn at Mystic" hotel is not in any way in the same league as Hyatt, Hilton, or any other hotel Priceline.com gave as an example of 3.5.
There are numerous of reviews and pictures from real travelers (not business owners), that show real state of this so called "3.5" hotel: leather recliners worn off, terrible conditions on the balconies, complaints about bad smell, the place being run down and dirty, wallpaper discolored and peeling, yellow bathrooms, not working air-conditions and fireplaces, some people get breakfast box with an orange, a Nature's Valley granola bar, and a pre-packaged muffin (and this is comparing to free breakfast buffet at Hyatt, for example). Giving this hotel 3.5 stars based on "reviews" (as I was told by Priceline.com customer representative) is very deceiving in this case. "Inn at Mystic" should have been 2 or 2.5 star motel, not 3.5 hotel.
Being loyal Priceline.com user of "name your price" since 2001 with no issues (the recent one was just a week ago), this is the first time I see such disparity between their star marking and the reality. I am legally blind, do not drive and can not walk distance. I am disabled. That is why I chose a hotel in the experience location not a mile away. Once I saw this I called not even 2 minutes later. I booked car with Priceline estimated charges 19.56 USD. I complied with terms of agreement. However my bank account was hit with two charges of 33 USD total 66 USD + something like 3 Euros for toll roads and toll road charges are OK. When I asked Priceline for explanation they told me there is nothing that can be done if I do not provide them rent-a-car rates. I argued that it is something they are supposed to have or discuss with SIXT car rental. They said there is nothing they can do??
First I was sold car under false belief that it is 19.56 USD as they stated in their estimated charges. What estimate is that if it ends as 66 USD. Second when I complained about it they argued that it is me who is to provide them with rates of rental car agency which car I booked through them? This GOT TO STOP. They cannot lie to us. I do not have confidence in buying anything over internet.

This is with regards to a previous dispute, original case # **. I did not understand the nature of this particular dispute process, but after talking to the credit card representative and the merchant (Priceline), I should have filed it as a "non-receipt of services". Please see the notes referenced below as stated to the representative in the dispute department for my credit card.
The original transaction should have never posted in the amount of $245.00, as the requested level of hotel was not received. The reservation was made under my name, Adnan **, with a second room under my brother's name, Kashif **. When it posted, I called and filed a dispute as Priceline did not refund the amount as they said they would once a second reservation was made under Kashif's name. We never stayed at the hotel that was reserved under my name, but did stay at the other hotel that Kashif reserved under his name on his credit card with a second room in my name.
All of this information can be found documented with Priceline by calling them at 1 (877) 477-5807 and referencing the the case number **. They are rejecting to refund the charge that they made on my credit card for not using the services at the hotel we made original reservation and instead we decided to use them for our stay at the other hotel.

Booked a hotel through Priceline Express Deal. Allegedly, it allows you to book rates which hotels don't advertise. This was a lie. It was exactly the same price. I feel completely ripped off. Customer Service didn't offer any options but to pay because I agreed to the contract. What contract? The one with million pages? The only contract I saw was the attractive price in the town I was looking at. On top of all things this hotel is not technically in Montreux. I felt even angrier. They masked a hotel with 6 out of 10 rating under the 4*. I booked million times with Hotwire and they never did that to me.
I find it unethical to mask a truly 2-3* hotel under great 4* deal. On top of all I'm local there. And I know where Montreux is. And if you ask anyone they will tell you that none would stay in that hotel as it is far away from the city center. It also advertises it is steps away from the train station. Liars again! It is 10 min drive in the country where everyone uses public transport. I feel ripped off, lied to and their customer service just copy-pasted standard info after 7 min wait. The entire experience was horrible. I request Priceline Management to fully refund my money or I won't stop here. I cannot stand when they treat people as fools. See below please. Everyone! Have a great day and stay away from Priceline!!! They do not care about you. Money grabbers!!!

I had the misfortune of booking a name your own price with Priceline. I had put all my credit card info in and was debating whether or not to press submit on the price I received. My children were arguing in the background and one was not feeling way. As I turned, I accidentally clicked on submit... If anyone has a sensitive Apple mouse, they will know how easy it is to do that!!!
Shoot!!! Now I booked a car rental I wasn't sure about. I called Priceline right after I took care of my children. I explained the unfortunate situation and asked for a refund. Lo and behold their contract for Name Your Own Price is 100% non-refundable. Now, I used to work in the travel industry and NEVER EVER heard that car rentals are non-refundable. They are actually refundable up until day of departure. Seeing that I called within the hour (probably in minutes) you would think that they would offer a goodwill exception! I, myself, worked for a travel wholesaler that would make exceptions under certain circumstances.
I decided to call AVIS myself to see if they would refund the $$ to Priceline. I even spoke to the supervisor at AVIS and Priceline. Avis' supervisor gave me their name so I could give it to Priceline's supervisor to ensure that they would refund the $$ (actually AVIS told me that they didn't even charge Priceline yet), so I guess they were ensuring that they wouldn't charge for the car rental.
Even after getting confirmation from AVIS that they would in fact NOT CHARGE Priceline... Priceline would not budge and make any exceptions. To me that's GREED! Especially since I booked in Dec 2015 and travel was not until March 2016. Anyway, they have lost me as a customer forever and I will make sure that I at least tell one person every day for the rest of my life NOT TO USE PRICELINE and I hope that after this review you won't get screwed over too!

Have several travel arrangements, flights, hotels, car to make for staff members traveling to Oklahoma City. Have never tried Priceline, name your price before. Was told by several people I know that it saves you a lot of money. I looked up prices for hotels in the area, all serving free breakfast and pool. I put in a price on Priceline that was just a little under those hotels and was accepted immediately! Great, until I printed out the ticket 2 minutes later finding out that there is no breakfast. We are staying 3 nights. 2 people.
I had another reservation to make for a co-worker on the same project. Now I either have to put him in the same hotel and pay for 9 breakfasts or put him at another hotel and pay for a different car for him. You would think that in a matter of 2 minutes you could call and say, I didn't understand how this works. I am not taking the money away from Priceline, just put me somewhere else. We have been traveling all over the country for a new client. I mentioned that I make flight, hotels cars for all of these projects and have to have something changed if I am going to continue to use Priceline. They would not budge, were very nice, but just said, "Sorry, I feel your frustration but there is nothing I can do." Well, I am nicely saying that being in the customer service industry myself, this is not the way to keep your customers.

I have never used Priceline before. Thinking Priceline was the best way to book a great room at a great price, due to their flashy marketing. I was wrong and it was a costly lesson learned. Writing this to warn others to not use Priceline in the future! I "bidded" on a room that was a 4-star hotel at a 2-star price. Well it was the opposite, it was a 2-star room with a 4-star price. 33 miles from the address I put in to be near!
You bid on an unseen hotel and location, hoping Priceline gives you what they say you are bidding on! Oh by the way, you never see the hotel until it's paid in full by your credit card, with no cancellation or refund! The hotel was an old, run down, doors to the rooms facing the parking lot, which we never stay in those, due to safety reasons! (kick ins) I even paid an extra fee (thru TripProtect) thinking that if I had to cancel, I would be able to. Wrong again! The fine print is so ridiculous in order to get a refund. You never will get a refund! (one reason was due to a VOLCANO!!!) Learn from me (over a $200 lesson). Never ever use Priceline website. Biggest rip-off in the travel industry. I know I won't!!!

We booked 2 cabins on a cruise through Priceline and specifically asked the representative the policy on cancellation and any fees that may apply. We were told we would lose $100 per cabin. Both my husband and I were on this phone call and we decided we were willing to lose $200 in case we needed to change plans. As it turned out we did need to cancel and now besides losing the $200 (100 per cabin) we also lost an additional $25 processing fee per cabin. So out another $50 that we were never told about after we specifically asked policy on cancellation. After speaking to a supervisor she acknowledged that the representative but was unwilling to do anything for us. The principle behind the $50 is what is upsetting and I will never use Priceline or recommend them.

We recently booked a hotel through Priceline for a trip that was ultimately canceled due to extenuating circumstances. We called the hotel prior to check-in to inform them we wouldn't be able to make it, which they appreciated and encouraged us to contact Priceline to resolve the refund. Priceline evidently has no record of this communication, and marked as "no shows", meaning we simply never turned up for our reservation or made an attempt to communicate with the hotel. Ordinarily I'd understand the miscommunication between a hotel and third party, but Priceline apparently has no leniency for extenuating circumstances (death or severe illness of self or family, natural disasters, acts of God, etc.) typically commonplace for those in the travel industry.
For this very same trip we had booked reservations with two airlines, another hotel, and two AirBnB’s, and every single one was able to provide a refund in full given the circumstances. VirginAmerica, in particular, really rolled out the red carpet, booking me on a next-day flight home to be with family, at no additional cost to my original flight. Priceline might have accomplished the goals of their marketing team in standing out from the competition, but they stand alone.

Be very careful about renting from Priceline. Read the "very fine" print. No cancellation, no refund, no changes. Don't book too far in advance of your trip because if the prices change (go down) you are stuck. I found much better prices with Priceline after I booked with them and they didn't waste any time on the chat line pretty much saying buyer beware. Our profit, your loss. Peter my chat line fellow just kept reading from a script. The reservation sheet I had had a box at the top of the page promoting car insurance and in that box it said Free Cancellation Until Pick up which I took to mean just that since it was right above all the reservation information but behold down below in nice small print was the no cancellation, no refund, no change information. Will never use this company again.

I am very disappointed with Priceline. My family and I are traveling. We tried to find a room through their website. It gave a generic "2.5 star hotel" description and said the hotel with low prices would not disclose the name of the hotel until purchased. There was no city name (lesson learned for assuming they would pull up hotels in the area we were in). When I pulled the info up, the hotel ends up being 30 miles in the opposite direction we were traveling. At midnight, the last thing you want to do is backtrack 30 miles that you have already gone.
When I called to get a refund I was then informed there was a no change no cancellation policy! So they expect us to blindly rent a room, but can't make changes if it ends up being 45 minutes away from where you are at. They said it's "within their radius" so there's nothing they can do. That would be fine if they would disclose the city the hotel is in before requiring you to purchase!!! I assumed it would be in the vicinity of my search area but I was wrong. So I just threw a hundred bucks away and still had to rent a new room. I will never use Priceline again and would give it a negative star if I could.

I made an express deal reservation through priceline for a 3 star hotel room for arrival Feb 4 for 1 night. I was assigned the Best Western Hill House in Bakersfield. This is an old low end property with some new paint and carpet and it is not of 3 star quality. This hotel is in a rundown part of town. The first room I was given had a bathroom fan that was running metal on metal and sounded like a grinder. I contacted the front desk and they moved me to another room. The 2nd room smelled of a combination of moldy, musty smell and bleach. At the time, I thought to just put up with it as it was just one night. I turned the TV off after 10pm and tried to go to sleep. This hotel is next to a rail yard and there was loud train noise and there was no way that I was going to be able to sleep. There was no reason to ask for another room. The whole hotel is close to the noisy rail yard.
I contacted Priceline customer service who was unwilling to find me another hotel. I dropped the keys off at the front desk and vacated the room and drove to the Hilton Garden Inn and paid to stay the night. Priceline rates the Hilton Garden Inn as a 3 star hotel too. I have a home one hours drive from Bakersfield but I had an important meeting early in the morning which was the only reason I rented a hotel room. Why does one rent a hotel room if not to have comfortable rest. Is it possible that Priceline manipulates these star ratings to trick people into reserving rooms at substandard hotels? The Priceline star rating for the Hilton Garden Inn and Holiday Inn are the same 3 stars of the above mentioned substandard hotel. Back and forth several times has resulted in Priceline telling me that they won't do anything about this situation. I will never use Priceline.com again.

My wife and I booked a hotel in Rochester, MN due to a visit at the Mayo clinic. In order to have access to a pool, we selected the 3-star category as all of these in Rochester have a pool in their description. Before we used the name your own price feature, we had selected a 2.5-star hotel that would have accommodated us greatly since it has a pool and high customer satisfaction. However, Priceline lured us into he NyoP for a hotel in the better category for the same price. We did and regret doing so.
Upon arrival, the clerk informed us that the pool was closed for maintenance for the next 7 days. Since we had booked through Priceline, she was not able to resolve the issue and suggested that we call Priceline in order to be transferred to another hotel with a pool. We did so, however, Priceline was not willing to either transfer us to another hotel or reimburse our booking. All they offered was an additional 20% discount. To me it seemed that the hotel had accepted the low Priceline offer with the knowledge that the pool was unusable which in fact reduced the category of the hotel based on the reduced amenities. Lesson learned - Priceline sucks!

I do not understand all the negative comments about Priceline. I have only praise for their complaints handling procedure. On three occasions I have requested Priceline to cancel reservations and each time, after I provided my reasons, they have complied. First time when my wife contracted cancer, second time when the hotel I had booked turned out to be in a rough area of San Francisco and the third time when the hotel did not have bathtubs to cater for my wife's infirmity. Each time I had booked on 'Name your own Price'. I thoroughly recommend the Customer Care team at Priceline.

Bought round trip tickets from Priceline which happened to be on United Airlines to attend a funeral of my Godparent who is also my first cousin. Funeral turned out to be a day ahead, purchased new one-way ticket and figured I would use the return Priceline ticket to get back home. United Airlines cancelled my return ticket because I did not use the first portion of the ticket. I called United and Priceline and was told by each company I had to contact the other company. I had them both on the line at one time because I used my cell phone to call Priceline and the hotel phone to call United... After about 1 and 1/2 hours of going to different reps all the way around, Priceline told me that if I produced the death certificate and an explanation, they would review the situation and render a decision.
I felt embarrassed for having put my dear grieving cousins through the bother of producing the death certificate of their precious father. I attached the death certificate in an email to Priceline. The next day, I called Priceline and they reviewed my request within an hour and denied the request. The reason they gave was because my cousin and godparent are not my "immediate" family. So they should NOT have requested the death certificate if they were going to deny the request all along, because I was upfront with them and told them what his relationship with me was. Also, I could have used the return ticket and not be forced to buy another ticket one way to return home. DO NOT USE PRICELINE, THEY ARE UNBENDING.

I recently booked a flight for my husband and I from Minneapolis to Vancouver. I realized later that as we were leaving the US the name on the tickets should exactly match the passport. I have never had an issue in the US as my legal name is very long. I called Priceline and they were unwilling to make any type of amendment. I spent several hours on the phone with them to no avail. I called Delta and they said they would do it except that one leg was on another carrier. I spoke to multiple Priceline personnel. Their final response was to eat the ticket - $560 - and book a new one. No credit - nothing. I've used them for years - they didn't care.
I finally called Delta back and they were able to cancel the ticket so I lost $50 per ticket - plus the worthless travel insurance which BerkelyCare would not refund either. So I am out a total of $160. Now as I go to rebook I see that Priceline is the least expensive - but - I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. If there is any issue - you are SCREWED.

I promptly called Priceline and asked about the misrepresentation and they read the scripted lines that said go look at hotel and call back if a problem. I called back with the problem that not only was the hotel a dump it was also $14 less on Priceline's regular listing than the so called big savings of the express deals! When I called they said my booking didn't qualify for their GUARANTEED price matching! The lower price was on their own website! Deceptive practices. Use Hotwire in the future. I've been a valued customer of Priceline since 2003. I never had issues with the site, as I always got a discounted price, whenever I successfully won a bid, on the name your own price option. Recently, I won a bid at a centrally located 4-star hotel in London, for $159 plus taxes. With the name your own price option, it's non-refundable, non-changeable, which I understand, no way around it.
Anyhow, when I researched the hotel I would be staying at, I came to see this hotel has no features of a traditional 4-star hotel. No gym, no business center, basically a room, and restaurant on site. Due to this matter, I made several calls to Priceline's customer care line, as well as emailed them, with the same result, of, "Sorry, non-refundable, non-changeable." Nothing.
I learned my lesson. I could have easily found a hotel, with the same level of service at half the cost. Yes, Priceline ensures savings, but it's not always in your best interest if you don't know the type of your hotel you're getting, or features when choosing the name your own price option. Next, time I will plan better and use Priceline as my last option.
