This company will not let you cancel out of their contract under any circumstances. Whether you’ve lost your job, broke, or unable to make use of the membership. They won’t even waive a yearly fee to cancel out a fully paid contract after years of not using the account. Do NOT buy into this scam! Waste of money!

We bought the biggest package they offer, 28 stars, for about $40,000. We did this so that we could start a travel reward program with the staff of our business. We have been using it for 1 full year now and I can say without a doubt, that we are so happy we did this. Me and my family have been using Global to travel about 1 week every month, plus we have sent our staff on 7 weeks this year (1 to Tennessee, 4 to Hawaii and 2 to Rome, Italy). That's 19 weeks of vacation time we used this year and some of them were Special Buys.

My wife and I were able to go to Aruba for 2 weeks at $99/week. When we arrived, it was an amazing gated community where the units were selling for $350,000. We also went to Cabo San Lucas this year and stayed at the Hacienda Encantada. Wow, this place had 7 restaurants on site and shuttle service into town. For Hawaii, it costs us $379 per week at resorts that start at $2600/week. Next up for us is a family trip to Washington DC and the resort is 2 blocks away from the White House! This has only been our first year and I feel like we have saved almost the entire $40,000 investment (19 trips x $2,000/week savings = $38,000). Plus, we will be handing it down to our kids when we are done traveling. Don't let the bad reviews scare you, this is a really amazing program and blows our other timeshare out of the water. We LOVE IT!

Do not buy this! I have two issues with this company. First I was on the account but we are not married. I called to be removed since I will not be able to use the account if I wanted to. I'm not the primary. Secondly when we initially signed up We were told it is not a timeshare, it’s a membership. We were told we could get hotels for the same price Priceline gets them for, they will fix the money. We fix the time. I set aside time for a family vacation and we couldn’t find anything. The price was cheaper than any other online search for travel which is a lie. They also said we could go anywhere in the world and near popular amusement parks.

Before Covid we tried on several occasions to use and nowhere we wanted to visit was available. Also it only saves you if you choose the most expensive room for a week. If you want to go for half a week you pay more. If you want a nice room you pay more. If you want to take a cruise you can’t. There is Coronavirus waiver due to fact that their whole business is base on travel and we are unable to that. Calling customer service is useless cause all they care about is money. This company needs have lawsuit filed against them for basically being a pyramid scheme. Don't use this company ever.

On December 23, 2020 I received a NOTICE OF DEFAULT for amounts GEVC contends I owe them amounting to $812.97 including late fees. They end the letter stating they could enforce a lien against me and bill me attorney fees and that they could retain the membership and repossess the points in lieu of pursuing the deficiency against me. All of this occurs within 30 days unless I pay extra money. Ironically, I never received any billing from them. My membership was totally paid up. Approximately $8,000 to be exact.

This was membership that I was unable to use since I purchased it. The points that GEVC purports to give from RCI are not able to be used. 10,000 points won’t get you a place to stay, and never did, even when I bought my vacation package back in 2013. I discovered worldwide that there were no venues that aligned with the point values of 10,000 points. GEVC never specifies what 10,000 points will get you until you start making plans to take your vacation. It’s only then that you find out that you can’t leave home on 10,000 points. However, according to the salespeople that I encountered in Long Beach, they had all booked their vacations through GEVC. Their presentation was not only misleading but outright FRAUD. You are never told, despite asking what 10,000 points will buy. Individuals are instead told that they can take their vacations on 10,000 points.

The man that gave the presentation stated that he had taken his family to Phuket, Thailand while another salesperson and his wife had taken a vacation in Mexico. I discovered that you can’t book resorts where and when you'd like and I determined that it's much cheaper to book accommodations on Hotels.com or one of the other sites then to book through GEVC's overpriced “vacation club”. And the good news is that it's much cheaper and more efficiently than under GEVC's phony points program.

On another note, when the telemarketers in Long Beach called my home, they reached my boyfriend who was promised a free 3 day 2 night vacation to Hawaii to attend your presentation. As an inducement to buy, I was also offered a cruise to Mexico When I sent the information in to the travel company to redeem the voucher for the Hawaii trip.. It was then that I discovered that this wasn’t isn’t a vacation that you can schedule, and it was not meant to be free. Thankfully, I was smart enough to research the voucher scam as so many other people had gotten duped that the company responsible for scheduling the Hawaiian trip had hundreds and hundreds of negative comments. Some people had actually paid all of the fees and did their Hawaiian Vacation through the voucher company. Those reviews stated they spent much more for the trip than they would have paid if they had paid for it directly.

There is no secured interest in this vacation club as I do not own a deeded interest in a timeshare. Even though this membership was sold to me as a Timeshare, and to induce me to buy it, I was offered free vacations which were anything but free. I discovered there is no secured interest, I WOULD NEVER face a foreclosure on my credit report, despite the fact that GEVC contends they can sue for the deficiency and enforce said lien against me. All they REALLY sold me is a membership in a vacation club which actually can be compared with a membership in a country club that does not own a deeded interest in the golf course, but only the right to use the golf course subject to the terms of the membership contract.

What distinguishes the “vacation club” from a timeshare is that a timeshare developer can only sell a finite number of weeks (52 at most per unit) whereas a vacation club sells an infinite amount of memberships often in excess of the resorts capacity. Therefore, there could be NEVER BE A FORCED SALE. Once 30 days lapses, they intend to retain my membership and sell this membership the same way they sold to me, to some poor unsuspecting person, who will figure out that 10,000 RCI Points WILL NOT get him a vacation and NEVER WILL and that he can do better at Hotels.com. Also Global Exchange Development Corp is really one and the same, as GEVC.

GEVC threatens that at their discretion they can enforce Lien actions to satisfy my purportedly SECURED obligation, rather than to offer some form of payment to reimburse me for what I have already paid for this false and misleading “VACATION membership”, which was paid for in full. So based on this letter, it is clear to me that they don't think the membership is worth anymore than $812.97, so they plan to retain it without offering some form of payment to someone who paid the membership in full. I believe they are obligated to do just that.

I was young and dumb - they were not. TL;DR: GET OUT NOW - even if you're past the 'grace period' you can get out for as low as $300 and save yourself $556 per year on terrible vacations. Truly the lowest forms of humanity; talked me, a broke and stupid young man, into financing $5000 worth of debt only to be billed $157 annually for a USELESS RCI points dump. How is it useless you say? They sell you a fixed amount that they replenish every year - but you have to pay $157 to replenish it (after the initial $5000 buy in). Then you have to pay for an RCI membership ($99-$199 per year). Then you have to pay to use the points on RCI (about $300 per time) and you don't even have access to any good resorts - the amount of points they give you gets incrementally less valuable as RCI's points cost inflates every year.

So, for a 1 week stay at Joe **'s Cockroach Infested joint in bum nowhere Texas - you have to pay $556 every single year on top of the starting fee of $5000. AVOID THIS AT ALL COSTS. JUMP OUT NOW. DON'T HESITATE. YOU CAN CANCEL - just make sure your dues are up to date and you call their customer service. Then it's only $99 processing fee (my god they hit you every which way with this nonsense).

Updated on 4/28/2020: I called in today so that I could talk to an actual customer service person. Well I able to finally make contact to an individual, and his name was Derrick. I explain him my situation regarding no longer working or no longer could afford to pay for a time share I have never used. He was so rude that he told me that he didnt care there were a lot of people calling in saying the same thing.

I said that the covid 19 virus has crippled the whole world and he said he didnt care as long as I paid the $116 a month. If not he would process this to a foreclosure, in which I told him that the government wont allow it and he bragged how his company found a loop hole to get it processed. I told him that I dont have enough food to feed me and my family and he said he didnt care. The nerve of some people and the nerve of this company taking advantage of people when they are knocked down. If I wasnt trying to buy a home I would let it go to foreclosure.

Original review: Well when you get there they make you watch a video that advertises the club and makes everything look good. When you actually try to use it you dont have enough points to book a trip. Ohhh you sure can buy extra points or spend more money on a upgrade. They told me with the amount of down payment I put down I would be able to pay it off in less than 5 years. I look at my paperwork now and it states that I am now financing this for 7 years. I didnt accept or request that, because if you do the math they want me to pay twice what the original price was.

I keep trying to call and talk to customer service to see if I can cancel this and I just get the run around and the phone keeps hanging up. Then when I actually talk to someone they say, "Wrong dept. I can't help you," for a moment I thought I was talking to Home Depot and not my department. Stay far away and with covid 19 I no longer can afford luxuries and definitely would rather buy food with that 115 a month for my kids. I hope someone can tell me or help me get rid of this useless vacation club.

The presentation and price is convincing, but you soon find out you can't book any resorts where and when you'd like to go and the fees/exchange rates at hotels and resorts are as expensive as they'd be if you just booked the hotel directly. While the agents selling the product are extremely friendly, the customer service after the purchase has been made is TERRIBLE. The associates I've encountered have been brusque.

Upon arrival for meeting that was suppose to start at 7:45 pm we sat for an half hour. That was an immediate bomber for me. The presentation was excellent and the keynote speaker was energetic. My only complaint was that he didn’t gravitate to the ** families. I saw him walk over and sit down with a ** family and engage heavily in conversation with them. 90 minutes turned into bad customer service and take the exit door. John who showed us in was pleasant at the beginning and during the introduction, but sitting back down and meeting with Tim (the financial manager) I didn’t feel like our presence mattered anymore. Once I told Tim that what they were asking for was not in our budget this evening he became standoffish and walked away from the table. John however say with a look of disbelief and then showed us to the “Exit Door” as he stated. No more conversation afterwards.

In all honesty if the sales rep would have shared a bit more information we would have been better prepared and would have been ready to make our purchase. Here it is Christmas, and January 1st is a matter of days away. Sir, I’m going to pay my rent before I buy into a timeshare and become an owner. No thanks for attending and literally had to ask for complimentary refreshments. If we would have had the upfront fees we would have definitely took part in ownership last evening, but their customer service sucks!!

After asking for a delay of my payment until after Christmas and New Years I was told that not only that they will be adding an additional $10 and another $15 to my last payment of $110.13. After I agreed I again threatened that it will be reported to the credit bureau. I was not late one time and never missed a payment.

I stated to remove the $15 fee so I can pay for it immediately, after refusal I stated that I will be paying in the 1st week of January which the lady replied that they will be adding the extra $10 on top. After being hit with all the charges I stated that I will be waiting until January 2020. Then being threatened with the credit bureau is absurd and absolutely BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I agreed to sit through their 90-minute presentation. I initially made a $40 deposit for a two night stay at Great Wolf Lodge in Dallas with the water park tickets. I was also promised a $100 restaurant gift card and that my deposit would be refunded after the presentation. So far, all true. Sales could not detail the differences in the different levels of cost for weekly rentals other than to say "time" of reservation. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Salesperson was definitely rude in responding to questions and then having the nerve to ask if I couldn't afford a $199 monthly payment. After explaining I was newly retired and getting affairs in order and would not be purchasing anything at this time, he shoved away from the table without so much as a "thank you for coming." I did receive a $40 Visa gift card, and a voucher for the hotel stay where I would have to pay an additional $100 deposit by May 2020 as well as the $100 restaurant.com gift card.

Now for the continued lies: After using the restroom prior to my one-hour drive home, all of the above mentioned items fell out of my purse in the restroom, unbeknownst to me. I received a phone call about 30-minutes later telling me all of the items had been turned in. Since I was more than half-way home, I asked if they would mail them to me. I was told "YES", the first lie from the individual who phoned (Amherst). I waited one week, due to a federal holiday falling within this week, before calling again. I was told again that it had been mailed. (LIE.)

After another week, I phoned again only to be told that it had been mailed out that Wednesday (LIE). Nothing has ever been received and after looking at all of the review on the BBB site, as well as this site, I voiced my concerns in reviews. ADDITIONAL LIES: In their presentation they indicated they have been in business for 40 years, yet the BBB indicates 16 years. GEVC states they are not a timeshare, yet everything written indicates they are. If it sounds too good to be true, it is! I am so glad I did not sign up for their program!!! Buyers Beware!

I could not believe how unprofessional this 'sales' staff came across. Of course when you first get there, everyone is nice and sweet. But once they don't hear what they want to, they become extremely rude. My rep was even getting defensive with me when I was asking questions and I asked him why he's getting defensive? He laughed it off. It was just extremely unprofessional. He kept saying, “I'm not trying to sell you anything.” I said, "Perfect then why I am here. I'll take the trip and be on my way." He laughed it off. I said seriously. Then I tried asking him questions about the price, which shockingly he couldn't tell me because it was all in the presentation. So by this point I had already seen enough red flags. I went into the presentation and of course I immediately said it was too good to be true.

And when I said that, I was shown a realtors license and was told that since it's a real realtors license they have to follow all the laws. (Is that the reason.) It was supposed to give me peace of mind I guess. Then we talk about money. I was intrigued. But my gut is telling me no. So I try and see how low I can go. Once I told the supervisor I couldn't afford her down payment then she said, "Ok if you can’t afford this then no reason to go any further." She said thanks and that was it. I thought I was done. NOPE, then when my rep came back and tried to ask a 'higher up' about 'lowering the deposit' the guy shook my hand and was really nice until he saw how low I wanted to go and that's when he turned into a completely rude guy! He said, "OH no," left abruptly and when the rep said, "hey man," he literally walked out of the room yelling, "nope," as if I was the one wasting their time??

I was talking to another person there and she was promised a trip to Catalina and when she went to claim her free trip they said they 'never heard of Catalina' and gave her a voucher for 7 day trip. Funny thing is I was there for Catalina as well and I rec'd the voucher for Catalina. So it doesn't add up. But my main thing is rudeness. When you get to the end and you're adamant and say no, you get the rude treatment and that's not good salesmanship.

You'll just be paying a monthly note and annual Maintenance fee for Dirty accommodations. We were promised two different 3 day 2 night vacations to attend the presentation. These are not actual vacations that you can work into your schedule, nor are they free. You have to pay $150 up front, send in 3 different potential vacation dates at least 60 days in advance and each selected date has to be 30 days apart. Vacation Roulette. Now, we only bought into the membership club due to the sales rep telling us we can get discounted cruises, because that is how WE vacation... Well, turns out this was a complete LIE. You CANNOT get discounted cruises at all. The price they offer is the exact same you get online directly with the cruise ships. This is complete fraud. DON'T get swindled by these people.

The way that the presentation went was almost one of the best experiences of my life, more so because we didn’t know what to expect coming in but the way t(he)y explained the program and all the great things we can do with it we knew this is for us. Young man I want you to shoot for the stars and continue to be that special person you are, now dropping down to how we feel about it.

I can’t wait to be able to take these trips, there is a little bit of hesitation, still, but we feel about 80% safe and confident in our decision to join with you guys. People deserve to have things that you guys offer, the interest was a bit high for my liking, but I’m willing to deal with it especially if you can make my dreams come true with my family and do like you guys said. All it takes is a little bit of courage and a little bit of open mindedness and this this TRULY TRULY does make sense. Every now and then, we are offered opportunities that we just have to roll the dice on...this is one of those instances. I can’t wait to see what this program has to offer.

I was at 6 Flags Fiesta, TX with my wife & 2 girls when we get stopped by the GEVC disciples. I gingerly get get led to "The Wheel”. I spin, I win a cruise, BUT I have to deposit $40 and do some paperwork and agree I will go to a 90 min seminar IF I want my $$$ back . Agreed to the 10 am group the following Sunday because we were going to 6 Flags right after the seminar. We call to confirm our meeting and the receptionist tell us to bring 2 forms of ID, so we do. I only bring minimal $$$ because we're not planning to stay all day at Fiesta, TX.

We get to the GEVC place and wait like 5 min before someone asked us to come up to the front of their lobby & in front of potential members. This representative asked us for a credit or debit card, I said we didn’t bring one, he says out loud, "ARE YOU SURE, YOU MIGHT HAVE ONE IN YOUR CAR!!!" Really?? Their demeanor totally spiraled down after that. I was told we had no ties or obligations, but yet was refused & not allowed to participate in the seminar. In a split second they gave me another date/time for the next seminar and pointed me to the door!!!! Really??? No apology, no "Hey let's work something out your here already," but NOOOO.

All of this was handled extremely poor, & this is what I get for winning a cruise??!! But on a positive note, a preview was displayed on how they conduct business which alerted me NOT to WASTE my time any further. I tried calling GEVC HQ but no one cared to hear my side, they just said "Everybody has a credit card sir “. So I went on to the BBB and reported them. Don’t do it people!!!

I would not recommend this at all. They would tell you ANYTHING to make a sale and just treat you like a number after. These are just a couple of things I experienced:

    1. The RCI website used to book destinations always have maintenance issues.
    2. The locations in which are advertised as available during the presentation NEVER has availability.

    3. The interest on the loan was not stated prior to the sale.

We were told that nothing would be reported on our credit reports - just to find out a year later how this negatively impacted our reports. None of the above was ever disclosed before sale. The experience received after the sale was even worse. All in all, this was a terrible investment and I feel mislead, lied to, coerced, and it goes without saying, 100% dissatisfied with the plan as well as the customer service.

We tried to book our free trip and it was so many blackout dates we just decided to give it to someone else. But at the same time we also bought into the program, I can kinda understand why people keep saying they’re scammers, definitely those free trips. We sit down with this guy named BB, he didn’t look anything like we expected nor did he act or talk like anything we expected, he actually made us feel comfortable throughout the whole interview process. Like, I mean literally, I think we bought into the program more due to him and his manager, (who also did the presentation) and how they really treated us like humans and not a number.

Reluctantly we did sign up, we finally received our login two weeks ago. And we booked our first trip, however we used our frequent flyer miles instead of their air traveling method. Now I’m expecting to see this great beautiful resort that I have booked for me and my family, but the booking is confirmed. I would give a five star but I feel like those marketing trips were a bit of fluff, so that almost was a yellow flag, but so far so good. We’re going to for St. Thomas 348 a week USD, I really hope it’s as beautiful a resort as the pics display.

Please for the love of God don't make the same mistake that we did. Purchasing timeshares or vacation club's through points is a scam and while there might be two out there that are real, the risks are too high. You're not just paying 6 to 11 Grand you're paying over 30 grand by the time this is paid off not to include monthly payments. The contract you sign is different than what is said in person and before you know it you can't get out because they wait till escrow hits for you to back out. I thought this could be a vacation club that we got to use for my son and for us to travel and it turns out it's just a scam timeshare and not a vacation club at all. Thinking back all of the signs were there, they're just really good at being the Sharks that they are. Worst part is they have no remorse and even though job status has changed and we're homeless they don't care.

This is the worst experience of my life and the biggest mistake of anything I've ever signed up for and I am forever scarred and have PTSD from agreeing to anything again for as long as I live. They put everything on a flash drive saying that's everything you signed and that's a lie too. After missing the amount of days that we had to back out I checked the flash drive and what I read in person I do not feel as well as on those papers, what I was told in person is not what is on those papers, what I was promised verbally was not on those papers. They definitely make sure they cover their butts and thieve you for all of your money and take your child's Christmas presents. Thanks for ruining my life and making me depressed, I hope this entire business can't sleep at night and if they are they're probably going to hell. How they're even open makes me so irate and Furious that California lets a business like this exist!

My husband I attended a presentation in San Antonio last year and subsequently became owners. We read the reviews prior to purchasing and discussed them in depth with one of the managers who was quite forthright about the issues. Many of them didn’t make sense to us because they were about the free gift trips. (Which we clearly understood to be FREE, with travel restrictions, not at the same RCI resorts as the program, and for which we had to pay the taxes. This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.) Other reviews claim the owners didn’t have enough points to go where they wanted. This made no sense to us as this program does not use points to book trips. We wonder if they were confused about how the program works?

The manager and representative we spoke with acknowledged that there were representatives in the past at various offices who may have over-promised or misrepresented the program but that management has a zero tolerance policy. They assured us that if we had questions or issues booking trips, we could always call and come back in for help. We looked up a couple of resorts we like in Cancun and Orlando. Both were in the nightly range of $500-$600. We checked pricing for a specific week and then went on the computer and found those very same weeks for $339 and $469 PER WEEK respectively.

We have already saved a significant amount on the small trips we have taken in the past year and anticipate getting our money back in savings in the next year or so. We are very satisfied with our experience and with the purchase we made. We find we can afford to travel more and that makes our kids (and our initially skeptical relatives) happy! I will say plan ahead if you want to go some place popular at a specific time of year (eg South Padre in July) but to us this is common sense. This program is not perfect but we can honestly say it has been a great value for us and we believe a good investment for our family.

My husband and I were living comfortable and wanted to start traveling with our children now they were a little bit older. we went to the intro meeting which we were to get an flight and hotel in Vegas just for attending (later to find out the available travel times offered put us in the airport for more hours than the length of stay) and had to pay $50 per person to reserve a spot in their free trip. We decided to sign up in July paid the monthly payment come Dec. There was a yearly maintenance fee which was the same cost for 6 months as 1 year. Then the end of January my husband was diagnosed with cancer. He was doing radiation/surgeries for months.

He was out of work and we were now living off my income, I started to fall behind on bills etc. So I called Global Exchange to see what they could do for me. They said they could defer a payment to the end of loan. That wouldn't help. I wanted to sell the contract - they said I can't because I don't own it yet till the loan was paid in full. Asked if they could buy back they could keep the $1300.00 I had already paid into it (and never once used). They stated they don't do that. So basically I was stuck with No Way Out From Under this BS bully thief of a scam company. I called the company many times asking them same thing pleading with them for any kind of a solution (thinking someone would have compassion for my situation). No such luck. All they would say, "I am sorry to hear about your husband but there is nothing I can do."

At the end of call they had the nerve to ask, "Is there anything else I could help you with?" SERIOUSLY! Well they sent the account to collections after 90 days nonpayment. I had a choice of paying house payment or vacation club. So my original loan amount was $8400.00 and at the time of collections the balance was $ 6655.00. I paid $1745. just for the headache of dealing with this company. As of February 2018 the account is still open and the balance now is $ 10,265.00!

I know as long as the account is open the amount can go up. I called the collection company and said if I was to pay off the debt will I get my vacation package thinking I could then sell it to make some money back off of it since I would never use this company. They informed me that I wouldn't own anything because Global Exchange washed their hands of the account and the coll. agency had nothing to offer but improving my credit. How could this be legal. To think of all the thousands of dollars this company has scammed from poor trusting consumers. They received $1700. for nothing and then washed their hands of me.

Now this collection company (probably owned by the same person) is charging me over $3,500.00 in fees for put it on my credit. And one letter they sent when they first got the account. How can companies like this get away with such shady practices. Please when it comes to any of the free trips seminars/vacation clubs be very wary. They make it sound so good but have yet to have one good vacation. NO good experiences and over $10,000 in debt!

This company claims and displays an A+ BBB rating. I couldn't find them on the BBB site by any name or telephone number. They use the initials of GEVC and name Global Exchange Vacation Club at telephone number **. We were told if we paid $40.00 to confirm an appointment for a 90 minute presentation of their vacation club we would receive our $40.00 back Plus $100 dinner gift card and a 7 day Honolulu vacation. This would be if we joined or did not buy into their club. We rejected the near $12,000 initial membership that was dropped down to less than $7,000 with additional "sales managers" trying to talk to us into buying into their club.

We rejected all offers as this was excessive and still had to buy vacations for a extra fee, plus maintenance fees. We did get a $40.00 debit card back and registration form to send in with a $75.00 non-refundable Cashier's Check for a very restrictive 7 night vacation program. It's so limited and restrictive we doubt we could make any good reservations at any place we would consider going to.

Reservations must be made within 2 days and not earlier than 30 days in advance and then availability is restricted. They also indicate additional cost or fees could be charged. We also received a card to get discounts at some limited restaurants IF we purchased discounts for that restaurant and purchased a minimum amount that would be excessive for the type of restaurant and their prices. Looks like they are faking their A+ BBB rating and scamming people to go to these presentations to buy into their vacation club at an inflated price.

Too good to be true. Reviews - How is it that no one, at least not in substantial numbers, has nothing to say? How is it that several Yelp reviews have exactly the same verbiage? The gift - How is it that the "gift" requires a booking fee that must be paid with a money order? Thereby reducing your protection if they claim it was not received. The price - How is it from an opening price of 11k they are willing to drop the price to 7k? And then if you balk they are willing to give you a two year membership for 1k that can be applied to the 7k if you decide to join?
