I am so done with this hotel and company. I'm very disgusted. First off me and my husband stayed at the extended stay in n. charleston by the airport. We were there for six months work related. Some of the girls at the front desk was very rude and nasty. They never had clean linen in the day time hours sometimes at night. The girl that worked at night from 3-11 was loud and had a very bad mouth. We would come in from dinner and catch her yelling at customers. And management knew all about it and did nothing. All in all it was not a good place to stay. And we would never go back there again.

So far not so good. Checked in yesterday. Unpacked then checked out the kitchen which was filthy. Garbage and dirt in the fridge and more garbage/dirt in the cabinet under the sink. Also smells like garbage. When I complained they put us in another room which was worse. The bed had been used, and again the kitchen was dirty and the coffee table falling apart. The room stunk of garlic like someone had JUST cooked in there, which I suspect was the case. Went back to first room as there were no other rooms available. Opened the sofa sleeper and the bedding was dirty, with hairs (and more ) on the sheets. We are very unhappy thus far. Today I will complain to the manager. Last night there was only one employee working the entire facility and no manager.
Edited to add...spoke with the manager who promised to get everything cleaned and comped two nights, however we just returned to the room after being away all day, and while the fridge shelf and garbage area were cleaned, nothing else was. So the freezer, filthy. Microwave, still dirty. Pullout bed, same filthy blanket and used sheets. USED SHEETS AND STICKY CRUD ON THE BLANKET FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!!! I'm going to cry because basically we're stuck here. I can't find anything else in our price range.
I'll continue editing this since we're stuck here: I thought we had everything worked out. Theresa, the manager has been accommodating, as have most of the employees. As part of their new upgrade system, guests can pay extra per day for cleaning, which I did. With three people sharing a tiny space with a kitchen (being used), I felt it was worth the extra 10 bucks a day.
We were out all day yesterday, returning late and ready to relax in a cleaned up room. The room had not been touched. No new towels, and the garbage (with food scraps) under the kitchen sink was getting ripe. Beds not straightened. When I approached the front desk I was told the cleaning person said we refused service for the day (and actually wrote it in her notes). Of course this was a blatant lie. We were OUT all day; how could I possibly refuse service. I PAID extra money FOR the service, why would I refuse it? Especially after what we went through to get this room cleaned initially. So I guess I'll keep updating this post because we still have four more nights here.

Be warned about the Extended Stay in Walker & 158th. They are courteous when you check in and pay. Once they have the money, you live with what you get. Here is why: Microwave and Refrigerator were broken. Complained about it the first day, asked me to come second day to meet the team lead. Team lead says come back on Monday - Monday she can say if and when it can be fixed. Refrigerator was not working even though it made some sound. The story goes same. Requested to change the room and they says they are sold out. So basically taking money and telling us this is what you get, suck it up! Paid for the stay and hence continuing to stay here. :( Not a good choice to book this location. Stayed in Hillsboro location, it is better.

I made a reservation just after midnight on Monday, July 11th for that night and checking out Tuesday, July 12th. (The location is irrelevant. For the record, it was in Germantown, MD, just outside D.C.). Not only did I make the reservation and receive a confirmation, but the phone attendant also signed me up for their rewards program, PERKS. I also had mentioned it would be a late check-in.
I arrived at 10:10 pm and was told, shockingly, I was on a "do not rent list." My guess is they were over-booked because there were few rooms in the area. They even checked with their other hotel in the area. So my question is, if I'm on a "do not rent" list, why would they even bother to check with another hotel? Anyway, I am a 57 year old businessperson and have never even so much as received a phone call about a disturbance from a front desk! I have never received a letter, phone call, or any other type of complaint or demand from Extended Stay about any issue.
I called their customer service line and spoke to a representative who told me someone would call back. It's been almost 72 hours. No email or call. Additionally, I tried to call back on July 14th to their customer (dis) service line and waited almost 25 minutes before hanging up. I guess if they have that many minutes worth of calls to this specific line, that tells us all we need to know about this company. Sayonara.

I stayed at the Indianapolis Airport Extended Stay America on Fortune West Drive for 3 months while doing consulting for a company there. I had opened a bank account while there for ease of using debit withdrawals and local purchases. When I learned I was being sent to another state for business, I closed the bank account. During my stay I had used another credit card as well. When I checked out, I was informed I had a refund coming but they could not refund it to any other card other than the one I had just closed. The manager, Ebony also said her "accounting department" could not send me a refund to the address I had on file when checking in. BEWARE of refund or rebate promises with this company. The website does not explain the terms of the rebate is that you must use the same card you checked in with.

I travelled from NY to Tucson not sure what to expect, but here I am in very clean surroundings in a nice comfortable room. The handicapped bathroom is huge with a nice, big, accessible shower. The front desk was very patient while I had to rectify a nonsensical bank problem. The free internet isn't super fast but it's not super slow either. I am having no problem getting around to my usual web pages. My husband is a little miffy about the limited TV offerings but he's spoiled and will (hopefully) adapt. All in all we're happy here and will probably stay here awhile.

I booked a week at the Extended Stay in Aurora, CO on Harvard Ave. When I arrived, I quickly realized that I would not be able to stay at the hotel. It was filthy and the desk clerk told me a lot of the guests had been living there for years. It reminded me of a Section 8 Housing facility. She sent me to the other Extended Stay on Evans and said they would honor my rates made at the hotel on Harvard. I went to that hotel and they did honor my booking. This was a very difficult week to get a room in the Denver Metro area, so I stayed at the hotel on Evans. The room was filthy. I had one towel, one hand towel and I was suspect of whether the sheets had actually been cleaned.
It was evident the room had not been vacuumed for a long time and many of the electrical outlets didn't work. Plus, the air conditioning only blew air, no heat, no cooling. Since I was unable to get a room in the area at another hotel, I was forced to stay at that hotel. I even had to ask for a clock at the front desk since the room didn't even have a clock. The hairdryer didn't work either since it was so full of dust and falling off the way, I was not surprised it didn't work. The police were outside the hotel 4 times the week I was there, not sure why, but given the types of guests that were there and at the hotel across the street, I wasn't at all surprised. I will never stay at an Extended Stay Hotel ever again, anywhere.

Room smelled of smoke, even though it was advertised as a "non-smoking" room, cigarette burn marks on kitchen and bathroom counter tops. No kitchenware left in room as advertised, if needed, you had to go back to the Lobby to retrieve. Wash clothes and towels were dingy white in color. Furniture contained dirt skid marks and sticky. Blanket and coverlet on bed was dirty with bodily liquids and blood stains. Carpet stink and dirty. Night stands and tables contained stains from cups and/or bottles. Two men sitting on stairs on 2nd and 3rd floor playing loud music and smoking. Would like a REFUND for conditions at HOTEL. Dirty, Disgusting, Despicable, Disrespectful, Horrible!!!!

I had been staying at the Extended Stay for well over a week. I had checked out on two occasions believing my new townhouse would be ready but there had been additional work to be done in order for me to move in. This morning told the manager I'm not going to the trouble of checking out because I received confirmation it would be complete Saturday. This was 7:30 am. I told him my son would make additional reservations until Saturday morning checkout, we would call him.
When I arrived at 6:00 pm my son had gotten busy so I was simply going to pay for the night. I ask if it was ok to pay for the night and the remainder in the morning since my deposit came in at midnight. I want to keep the additional week and lose it. If that was not satisfactory my son would pay for the remainder if I was going to lose my entire reservation. In short, I wanted to pay for the night, that was a given and either have my son pay for the remainder right then or could I pay it in the morning.
He said very loudly "my manager said if you can't pay you need to get out." This occurred with people around. I repeatedly said "I'm trying to pay you now. So your manager said I had to leave?" He repeated, "He said if you can't pay you need to leave." I said again "I'm trying to pay you now." Not really believing I ask again so he said I had to leave even though I'm paying? He replied again, "my manager said you need to leave the premises. You cost us a room tonight." I replied "but I'm paying for the room." It made no sense to me.
He made me gather my things and escorted me out. I have never been so humiliated. Everyone saw this. I don't even know what to say. I apologized for arriving late, the day was crazy with my new job. Never would I dream of not paying. They lost money on a room yet I was trying to pay for the room. It's just beyond ignorant. That very rude in general. The location is rundown. I would never send my worst enemy to this hotel. I use that term lightly.

Booked a room through Hotwire. This means you don't know the hotel and thus don't know anything about the hotel's policies. In this case, the hotel reserves the right to assign you to any room -- you have no right to a specific room type. We arrived and were told that the last room available was a smoking room. That didn't work for us, so we went elsewhere. Unfortunately, there is no refund through Hotwire.

Booked a room with Extended Stay Of America Downers Grove through booking.com for 4 night starting May 6, 2016. The booking was insured with a free cancellation. The day of the reservation my credit card was authorized for the full amount of the stay before I even checked in. I decided to stay somewhere else because I did not like that procedure and I cancelled the reservation. After 5 days of cancellation I was supposed to receive my funds back to my card. Unfortunately I did not get them back and when I contacted Extended Stay they said they did not have my money, booking.com did. This was a utterly complete lie!!!
The charge on my credit card said Extended Stay not booking.com. I call and call their hotel and they refused to refund me my money. I had American Express dispute the charge. How can you charge someone credit card and they don't even stay at your hotel? How can you authorize their card before they even check in your hotel? Being a front desk agent I am aware of the rules and policies of most hotels but this is ridiculous. I will be contacting their corporate office because this is fraud and I will also contact the Better Business Bureau regarding their practices. Booking.com was very helpful as they are refunding me my money after a month long investigation at no fault to them.

I have just spent just 1 evening at Extended Stay America (9750 Lake Shore Dr. Indianapolis, IN). Fortunately only 1 day (5/26/2016). I work for a very large corporation in the hospitality group so I know what to expect from lodging. When going to my room through the side door there were about a dozen plastic trash bags lying there. Doesn't make one feel very good. The room has just two towels and two washcloths, NO hand towels. No cups in the room and I had to go to the front desk and ask for cups. The noise level from the A/C unit and refrigerator was not tolerable. Rating this facility on a scale of 1-5, 5 being best 1 would be a gift. I thought you should be aware of this facility. I would like to be contacted. My credit card was charged on 4/28/2016 for $100.79.

Extended Stay America at 10660 N 69th St, Scottsdale, AZ - We went to Scottsdale for cancer treatment, which was told to the reservation clerk at time of reservation. They did not give the rate for cancer patients. We mentioned this at check in and the front desk person said there was nothing he could do (his name was **). He even said we were paying a lot based on what other people staying there paid. The "customized" kitchen was a plastic tub with 2 cracked and chipped plates, 3 coffee cups and saucers, 1 spoon, 2 knives and 2 forks, a couple spatulas, skillet, and pan. You had to ask for everything.
The room was dirty the day we got there and had to ask for someone to come clean the floor. The elevator obviously needed servicing as it would rattle and jerk. That was finally fixed on the 7th day of our 10-day stay. The elevator was only cleaned once while we were there and it was very dirty. The pool turned GREEN - gross. Only saving grace here was that the beds were extremely comfortable. The blanket on the bed was disgusting and crackled with whatever was on it. I put it under the bed. Don't even want to think what was on it. The toilet even rocked as it wasn't attached!! Maids were helpful so they get a star!

My boyfriend, daughter and I needed a motel for 4 days because the water was turned off at our house for repairs. We paid for the room with a debit card. They required a 100$ cash deposit for the room which they said I would get back. They said it would take 7-10 days for the check from California to get here. We checked out of the room on March 24,2016. I started calling after the 10th day telling them I haven't received the check and everyday after. I gave them the correct address 4 times! They said it went back to California because my address was undetectable! I even made a complaint to my Post Office. There was no problem with my mail. So I told the manager at Crossland to send the check to my boyfriend parents' house. Finally it showed up there after over a month May 6, 2016!
I want a full refund on my 4-day stay. They look was so dirty my eyes burn. We just took showers then went home every night. The comforter had a burn hole and yellow stains all over. The bathroom door knob was broken dust and hair on the kitchen sink. They need to rest that motel down. I found a policy of his the room deposits and charges to the room are suppose to be Conducted. They did it wrong. I want a full refund.

I'm here on a job assignment staying more than 30 days and very unhappy with the second room they put me in - feels like something is biting me in my bed. Bad service. It happened to me at the candlewoods suites - bed bugs and overcharged bank card without my consent. I left candlewoods to come here and now I have to find another hotel to stay. The customer service on the phone, it really sucks. I spend around 5 hours trying to talk to someone in Expedia that will listen and make some sense. This past Friday I was scheduled to stay at Extended Stay overnight with my girlfriend. She loves to get away from the kids and enjoy some privacy once a week so I try my best to give her that due to my job on a tough shift with long hours.. That was ruined by manager of Peabody mass location though this time around.. We had stayed there for one night on the past two weekends and felt perfectly fine going back anytime. The two weekends before I had called and made reservations same day and paid cash when arriving for room. Also paid additional 100$ deposit they charge given back at checkout after they look at room for any broke items or possibly the smell of smoke if you're in a non smoking room.. I received my deposit back both times and was actually given compliment on good we left room both times.
Well this past time my girlfriend asked me to make reservations early in week so definitely had room. The past weekend was pretty booked and we got very lucky to get a room. On Friday we packed small bags like usual and we're off to a Dr. Appointment I had in morning before going hotel. While waiting in Dr. Office I received call from hotel manager who said he had to cancel my reservation.. Upon asking why this is happening he tells me my girlfriend and I were kicked out before and he has no clue how we got back in using different names. I explained he is making a mistake and I was told that hotel doesn't want people like us staying there. I'm a hardworking man for a major US company.. I wonder what type of person I am besides a normal taxpaying citizen. I gave Identification both weeks prior.. So how could they not say something then to someone they believe they don't want there.
I was not given answer to when or why I was allegedly kicked out before and I could tell manager speaking to me was lying. Extended Stay lost a very good customer for future stays I'll tell you that. But I feel discriminated and slander was used in this case kind of. My girlfriend thought I was lying when telling her what manager said on phone. Did I lose my room because I used promotion I received in email to get 23$ off room my next stay. Are they that cheap and greedy for money these days. I was trying to save a few bucks for sure.
I'd love to speak with attorney about this. I am so disappointed in a place I was satisfied with before this weekend. The company hasn't responded to me since. You don't treat valued customers like this. The front desk attendants are amazing in Peabody. Too bad your boss made a poor decision on Friday. Is there anyone out there who can give me feedback on how to approach this more. Pretty ticked off.. Also, to top off this experience, this morning I received an email saying "thank you for staying with us and hope to see you again soon" from Extended Stay.. Is this a joke??

During my stay, I discovered bed bugs in my bed (both alive and dead). I took numerous pictures, collected them for proof and contacted the office. Although the two female hotel representatives were attentive, I was told they were not authorized to credit my stay. I immediately vacated and booked a different hotel. Upon finally speaking with the General Manager, **, several days later, I was informed that only 2 of my 6 days could be credited, due to the fact I became aware/reported the issue several days into my stay.
At one point, it was implied maybe I had brought the bed bugs in myself. In addition, I found ants, spiders, a wasp and a roach in my room as well. I was appalled and disgusted, not to mention highly offended. This was the Extended Stay at 2700 Gracy Farms Ln. in Austin, TX. I would highly recommend unless you care for midnight visitors in your bed, to avoid this location at all costs. First of all I would like to state that Nikky, Jason, and Carried have went above and beyond the basic customer care required. They are not only upbeat and enjoyable to visit with but they genuinely care about their customer's comfort. The property is a bit worn but well taken care of. The housekeeping staff are also helpful which is one area that usually lacks in other places but not there. If there are negative reviews about the staff here it is probably because the staff was doing their job and the guests were doing something wrong because the staff there are not afraid to eliminate problem guests.

I had booked 2 double bed studio rooms on Priceline a week in advance of our stay, at the Extended Stay America Hotel. I noticed that one of the electronic receipts I had received did not state that the room was non smoking so, I called 3 days before my arrival to change my room to non-smoking and I was assured that my room had been changed. Yet, when we arrived we were given a smoking room (not common sense to smoke in an enclose area). The whole building smelled of cigarette smoke, so my eyes were watery the whole time there trying to have our room changed to Non-smoking. My friends were afraid of triggering their asthma. But they insisted that we had to take the smoking room. So we were left with no choice but to leave. We drove around for a few hours trying to find another hotel. Needless to say it was a nightmare of a night.
The other room's receipt had non-smoking but they gave my other friends smoking and said that's all they had. So they had to leave and find somewhere to stay. I learned from this event to reviews on hotels... This was our worse experience ever. Both Extended Stay America's were horrible. I have never been the one to write reviews but I have been staying at the Extended Stay America in California off of Ventura and Winnetka (woodland hills location) due to gas company relocation. I'm not here to complain about the service charge for room cleaning (which I thought would be a part of staying at any hotel) or the fruit flies that continuously keep coming back into my room (from where I don't know, considering I don't have any food in my room) but I'm actually here to inform others that I have been waiting in front lobby for over two and a half hours. For what you might ask? My key card isn't working and I need a new one. Now this all would have been resolved within 2 minutes had someone been at front desk.
I'm currently 8 1/2 months pregnant. I've had to use the bathroom from the moment I arrived. I normally get up for work around 5 a.m. It's currently 4 a.m. So it looks like I won't be making it into work tomorrow. I have called corporate number (310) 730-1056 at least three times now. I have spoken to a Jill, a Bethany, and don't remember the first woman I spoke to but after speaking with Jill I asked to speak with a supervisor only to be told the same thing that customer care rep told me; that the only thing they are able to do is send my message via email and text to whomever they have on file and here I am yet again hours later still waiting.
I just don't understand if it was an emergency situation then what would they have done to resolve the situation differently? I'm baffled at the way this situation is being handled, completely mind blown and I have to say I will never suggest Extended Stay America to anyone I know, have known or will know. This has forever left a bad taste in my mouth. Completely disgusted with experience and business.

Jennifer (the so-called manager) said it's a civil matter. Ok, it's also a social media matter and police matter. Might I add, the police disagreed with Jennifer. I have never complained about this hotel, and I should have a long time ago. They allow criminals to roam the hallways and take over the parking lot. It's all about money, and if you have it: WELCOME HOME! Just because you paint the building and put in pretty chairs doesn't mean it's the Hilton. It's a hotel with motel prices and motel people. You know the saying about putting lipstick on a pig? Just be careful staying here, it's really dangerous.

I booked a reservation on Priceline for a non-smoking queen bed for 4 days. When I arrived to pick up the key I was given the key to a room that smelled like marijuana and cigarettes. The smell was so strong that I could not let my 1-year-old sleep in the room. I kindly told the staff that I did not book a smoking room but a non-smoking room. I was told by the customer service rep Darline that Extended Stay cannot guarantee a particular room, that Extended stay uses third party companies like Priceline to get the rooms rented out that nobody wants, ie. my room.
I asked over and over to be put in another room and was told several times that the room assigned to me was the only one available and that they were completely booked and could not make any changes. I asked for a refund and was told to call Priceline. I called Priceline and cancelled my reservation. The 222.00 was refunded back to my account. My little nephew yelled and screamed the entire time because he was so tired and wanted to go to sleep.
I was then told by Darline that the only way I could secure a non-smoking room is if I went through the central reservations department and booked directly with Extended Stay. An hour later I called the main reservations line and asked if there were any rooms available at the Extended Stay in Sacramento - South Natomas area. I was told by the CS rep that there were 2 rooms available, one smoking and one non-smoking room. I booked the non-smoking room and gave the rep my debit card information, paid 80.00. I then walked back up to the customer service counter and told Darlene that I had contacted the main reservation line. They said that there were rooms available and one was non-smoking.
She stated that they were still booked for the night. I then asked Extended Stay reservation department to please contact the front desk and communicate with them... tell them that I just reserved a room. A room that they told me they didn't have. The central reservation rep called Darlene and told her to give me the room that was booked. Darlene told the rep "You do what you gotta do" and got off the phone. The rep then called me and said, "There is nothing I can do but give you the number for Customer Relations" and that I could file a complaint the next day. I explained to the rep that creating a complaint was not going to help me with the immediate problem. The rep attempted to find a room at another location but was unable to.
I asked to speak to the rep's supervisor. I explained to central reservations supervisor the entire situation. The supervisor then contacted the hotel manager who now refuses to come out of his office, and asked him why he did not give me a room. The hotel supervisor LIED ON ME and told reservations that he showed me TWO rooms and that I refused BOTH of them. I could not believe it!! He lied to reservations and would not give me a room. The supervisor told him to check me in and when I handed him my ID and debit card he slammed it on the counter and screamed, "I AM NOT CHECKING YOU IN!" in front of many witnesses. There were almost eight people in the small lobby watching. I responded, "Yes you are! I reserved a room and I want it. I am tired."
After the supervisor heard what he had done he called the front desk again and spoke to the hotel manager who then came back to the counter and checked me in. Here's the kicker...he gave me two keys. They were both to a NON-SMOKING ROOM that he had all along and did not want to give me. Two and a half hours later, yelling and screaming back and forth, a Priceline cancellation, 300.00 spent on my debit card and the mental and emotional stress... all could of been avoided if he had just given me the non-smoking room I reserved to begin with.
I cannot believe that I had to experience something like this. It was one of the most horrible experiences I have ever had in my life. And I am not exaggerating. I am a Nurse for the Department of Veterans Affairs and an Air Force Medic in California. I was treated so badly, disrespected, ignored, yelled at and lied to in my face by your employees/contractor/representatives and feel that something should be done about it. No I don't want a refund, no I don't want a free stay. I wouldn't stay in another Extended Stay if my life depended on it. I would happily sleep in my car.

So another in my series of 'how many ways are there to be cheated in this lifetime'... Extended Stay has now defrauded us out of something like $900. They have promotions where you get 15% off your entire bill, but not until you check out. I didn't know that until we came here to the Northern Santa Rosa Extended Stay -- earlier this year we stayed twice at the Southern location, once for two months. And each time the stays included the 15% promotional rebate... And we have NEVER received it. From either stay. The question now is... What about the one where we are staying now? We've been here 7 weeks... Wow, I'm so tired of being cheated. To be fair to the people at EXTENDED STAY North -- they are awesome. The ones at the Southern location are ridiculously slack, often not in the office for hours on-end, don't know ANYTHING (which is how we came to be cheated out of the rebates when we stayed there). BEWARE!

So I was given a voucher I won in a contest thru Hotel Planner.Com. I had a choice of like hundreds or more hotels or motels in Maryland. I could've chosen and I've stayed at a extended STAY before, so I book a room which can absolutely not be refunded by any means apparently no matter what. I was told there was only 2 rooms available for the amenities I choose which because someone else paid for it I felt I was given less valued options. So we arrive in the room, everything looked ok until I saw there was no curtains. Really no curtains. So I went to front desk and was told there was only one room left and if I didn't like it they can't help, so we moved and the lady actually said to us "most people don't complain about no curtains". Funny thing is I looked around the whole building and every window but ours had a curtain.
So we went to the one supposed room left. It was handicapped room which was ok till I turned on tv and nothing but static appeared. We looked. Someone took out the whole cable wires. So "I'm sorry I should be allowed the same privileges every other room offers" so we were put back in room without curtains and was told twice "someone would be up with some". This was at 7pm. At 12:28 still no one. We tried putting sheets up but it wasn't possible how it was set. Was woken up at 6am with the bright friggin Sun in our eyes besides the fact of ducking under the window all night so no one saw us get undressed or anything else private. It was an anniversary gift. Was a sucky night and I'm sorry I wasted my 150 voucher on this place.

Purchased this room through Priceline.com so no refund option available. 1st week refrigerator didn't cool, lost all of my refrigerated goods. They replaced my refrigerator with one that the freezer worked but the refrigerator side barely cooled. Had to freeze jugs of water and swap them to the refrigerator side to keep groceries cool. 2nd week in the middle of the night we turned on the lights and found roaches CRAWLING IN THE KITCHEN AREA.
During the third week they announced that they were going to reseal the blacktop driveway starting on the 26th of the month and occupants should park by the pool area. There were more cars there than they had parking for so people were double parked. As they completed the parking lot section by section they never gave a new directive as to where to park. I watched as the contracted towing company towed 12 cars from the parking area, some front wheel drive cars where they drag them sideways in order for them to get the cars on the skid trucks and flat spotted the tires due to them being front wheel drive cars and the wheels not turning as they drag them up onto the truck.
After a week of being inconvenienced due to the parking lot resurfacing there was a long-term company that was staying there who decided that they were going to play baseball in the parking area. After a call to complain to the office the office stated that I had to deal with them, it was not their responsibility. BUYER BEWARE - DO NOT STAY HERE.

This hotel is infested with bugs. My daughter fell down an entire flight of steps -- no apology. They appear to be trained to be rude. The district manager called me said if I complain one more time they will ban me. The pillows are old, lighting in the parking lot poor and some lights even out. There is have weed and smoke in the hallways. Then when I complained I said "well it just happened. It should be on video". Anastasia said they don't have video cameras there. No video cameras, no lighting at dark and staff is absent at night. How scary amongst a bunch of weed smokers.
I stayed 2 months because I had no choice and had 1 room cleaning. The next one I asked for they said "well you can come down and get the vacuum cleaner." The beds are dirty. One time I pulled the sheets back and the bed was saturated with blood. Because of the bug infestation I have had to go to doctors and get cream for my body. When I gave a bad review they lied and said my dog bit someone which is a lie and was never reported officially. Told me I have to get rid of dog or they will call the authorities.
Clay and Anastasia both managers have some love triangle going on. The manager Anastasia lives on grounds and lets her large dog roam the halls. She lets him out without a leash and poops and she doesn't pick up the fecal matter. One time I was alarmed by them calling the police on me falsely reporting my car stolen out of revenge they had against me for complaining about conditions. I was woken up, police ran my serial to car, found it to be a bogus report. Michelle at the Tuttle location did this.
They have no supplies and even in November nearly all the staff quit abruptly due to harsh management by district manager Brian **. I have resorted to buying my own toilet paper. Pillows are worn down, toilet dirty. Can't breathe and I'm on oxygen. The guy has to keep their doors open and smoke goes right in hallway. To bribe other guests to give good reviews although there are mutilate complaints from others how dirty the hotel is... Clay brought food in and we asked "what is this for"... Randomly they said it was for customer appreciation day. The Dublin extended stays are racist rude and if you give a accurate review or even make the slightest concern to their attention will find a way to make you leave.

Stolen Sonic Toothbrush left in Room 338 Tempe Extended Stay. This letter is to complain about service I recently received from Extended Stay, Tempe, AZ. I stayed at the hotel on New Year's Eve. I checked out on New Year's day at approximately 10:00 a.m. my room number was 338. I drove a friend to the PHOENIX airport and drove back to Yuma. When I arrived at home I realized I left my Sonic toothbrush in the room. Immediately (at approximately 3:31 p.m. I called the front desk) contacted the hotel and asked the front desk to check the room for my toothbrush. I spoke with Megan who told me she had my toothbrush but she wasn't familiar with the process of returning items but she would check with her manager and call me back.
She never called so I contacted the hotel 3 times on Jan. 2 asking for Sam the desk clerk who checked us in when I arrived and was very helpful. I knew she was from Yuma so I thought I would ask her to bring my toothbrush. I found out that the manager, Leslie would be back on Jan. 4 so I sent her an email. This began a nightmare for me but to make a long story short Sam brought me a toothbrush. In my excitement I did not check it to see if it was mine but when I tried to place it on my charger I realized it was not mine. It was very old and upon further investigation I realized it was disgusting, used and gross in pretty bad shape.
I contacted Sam and returned it to her in the same bag etc. she had given it to me in and I showed her my charger. She said that she would check further. I told her I would send a picture of my toothbrush. I emailed the photo to both Sam and Leslie and no one answered. Finally Leslie email me telling me it was not found. I feel very strongly that whoever cleaned my room has my Sonic toothbrush and because of my dental needs I want it back. If it cannot be found I feel that the hotel is liable and should purchase me a new one at Walmart for $99.99. Needless to say, I was quite frustrated. I expected a much higher level of service from your company, and I am quite disappointed. Because I do not want to spend any more time on this problem. I expect a full refund as well as compensation for all my time and frustration spent trying to get a reply from the hotel.

I have stayed with this hotel many times and almost every time have been deeply disappointed with how I was treated. If I came in late, say after 8 there was a rude older man who would be down right awful to us when all we wanted was a room for the night. None of the morning staff liked him either and I was appalled he still worked there at all with how he rude he is to any customer.
The final and last straw was when we stayed for two nights and had roaches in our room, not just one or two. No, at the least ten. TEN ROACHES. There's no excuse for that at all. So we went downstairs and demanded a refund and to be moved for the night, at the very least to have one room refunded. Nope, he said he could throw us out for the night or just move us. Refused to be helpful or even sorry at all. The next day I called their customer service and they were about as helpful. I can't believe how rude and just uncaring they all were to customers who pay good money to come back time and again. Now we don't even bother. So don't ever stay there. It's literary a roach motel.

My list didn't say anyone was in here. I was trying to fix the door". At 4:05 AM, I called the front desk. I spoke with Marcus, who said that yes, that was him and apologized for the bad experience. I laid in bed awake terrified he might come back. A door is not something you fix at 4 in the morning. Furthermore, you're breaking it down to fix it?
On 12/19/15 at 3:54 PM, I called this hotel requesting to speak to the manager. After having a rude conversation with the front desk, I was finally transferred to the manager - Jack. Jack advised me there is no employee there by the name of Marcus. I asked if he could check with his employees that worked the late shift to see if an employee did in fact make this error in judgement. Jack ignored my request and stated to me, "You should of contacted the police. There is nothing we can do about it". I kindly suggested to Jack that for his customer's safety, he may want to be aware of such an occurrence. I received no empathy, apology, or concern over what I experienced at the Hardin location in Little Rock. I have been in management and customer service for ten years. This is unacceptable, and I would like a refund. More importantly, I believe there is a Marcus there. I am seeking answers. Thank you.

We heard about Extended Stay and so we stayed at the one on 5430 Forrest Dr. Columbia, SC., cause it's close to his work. The stuff was alright but this place were infested with bugs and cockroach. My husband keeps telling them about the cockroach issue and they said they'll spray the room but it gotten worst instead. My husband works long hours he needed to get good night sleep but this bugs wakes him up in the middle of the night crawling on him! He didn't really have much time to find another place until I was finally able to be with him. So we moved to the one in Irmo.
Extended Stay in Irmo: We checked in on Sunday, December 20th. During our checked in they asked us what day we want our room clean and so I picked Friday. The first room they tried to put us in we're smelly, unmade and dirty. It looked like someone had just checked out of it. So hubby went back to get another room. They put us in room 408 with a king size bed. On Thursday we went to visit families and didn't get back until Saturday night. When we got in our room were NOT cleaned. So hubby told the front desk and they said they'll clean it Sunday.
We waited again on Sunday still no housekeeper. So I went to the front desk to inquire about it and the housekeeper and front desk clerk was seating in the office. They saw me coming but took them a while to greet me. They were laughing and finally the one that was seating on the other side of the desk came out and talked to me. I told her that our room was NOT clean as they told us they're going too. A lady behind her said that it will NOT GET CLEAN TODAY. I AM THE ONLY HOUSEKEEPER AND I AM DONE FOR THE DAY!
At this point I was explaining to them the reason is that we have a dog and I needed to know when they clean the room so I can either be in the room or take the dog out with me when they come to clean. They told me that they'll get it clean the following day (Monday). I asked if they'll clean it again on Friday, the housekeeper said no cause we only get service once a week. So I told her that it was NOT cleaned the day it was supposed to. They both told me that if I want they can change my service to Monday or wait until Friday again! At this point I was a bit frustrated so I agreed to move the service to Monday.
I worked in the hotel industry for well over 15 years. I started as a housekeeper and worked my way up to management. Now I am a self employed and travel with my husband. We stayed in many hotels both in upper and lower class but never had encounter such issues. I like the idea concept of your company. But the service really need to improve.

Staying at your place has been a nightmare. From check in on 11/13 to check out on 11/17. Your place had no coffee pots, cups, or any kitchenware. I went to front and they told me due to the hotel being sold out, they were out, and if I had better luck the next day to ask again. I did, and still no utensils or kitchenware. Next, I turned on the kitchen faucet and the water was clogged, I called in that same day 11/13 to front desk, and they said they'd put in a work order. The bathroom faucet had the same problem. When I went to the morning coffee I let the elder lady there that our sinks were clogged. Still with the same reply of some work order that never came in even as we left.
Then comes the checking out part. I asked your manager at the front if I may check out late as I was working in a conference at Sands, my baby wasn't feeling well and if we may check out at 2, just to make sure I would have enough time. She told me not until 1:30. I told her I'd get back ASAP to make sure I get my belongings. My husband picked me up and due to traffic I got back at 1:46pm. The room understandable was torn apart, just to find your housekeepers going through my belongings telling each other what they were going to split amongst each other.
I remember Terry's name. I told them "wait a minute these are my things." She told me "you can't take them back," I said "why not they're mine." So she told me "you can have it back if they ok it in the front desk." Well beware and behold your front desk smiles and says very cynical, "you were supposed to be out by 1:30," I said "yes I know, but I tried calling and no one answered." So after a back and forward she let me go back to get my things, only to then telling your housekeepers where our things were.
I started my Gucci bag, my food, my cloth, only to instead of being helpful they call your manager to tell them I was harrowing them. And as I explained to her, I know the things I had in there. In their brown bag on their bins were all my belongings. All my food bags torn apart. My paper utensils such as cups, forks, plates, paper napkins were tucked and hidden in there. Your manager saw all this and she starts screaming at me that I had to be out by 1:30. It explains why she works there. Our rooms smelled of cigarettes and weed, when it clearly said non-smoking rooms.
Exel your employee was the only nice person that saw that I was pulling my clothing and babies items from a trash bag. He wanted to help but your manager called him so he wouldn't help. I normally don't stay at these places, it was my first and will be my last. I was booked in 10 days at a location in Chicago. I called my boss to please cancel it. I am the one feeling harassed and humiliated to see my things pulled out of trash bags. My son's favorite sleeping pillow stayed behind, as I did not want to go back any longer.
I left a message at your corporate office, but no one has replied. I sure hope this is not the norm, and perhaps your claims department is overwhelmed by the horrors I have been through. On Friday when I asked for the towels it was around 9 pm and I called on 4 occasions to never have a reply back. In all fair I believe a refund should be given back. I value customer service as it is in the business I am in, but your place has failed completely.

One week later she calls and tells me she has had three complaints about my dog being aggressive and if it happens again I will be out! This is a trained service dog and I am the only handler and not one incident has ever happened.
I asked for a report or a copy of a complaint or even an explanation and she said she did not have to disclose that information. The staff were not rude at all but just did nothing no matter how much you complained. MY GOD the place is for DOWN AND OUT people. They promise you everything on the website yet they do nothing at all. The lady in the front desk was a sweet-talker just interested in making her wages, had no real concern for the CLIENTS. The manager ** AT 4726 SUGAR GROVE BLVD does NOT exist and does NOT care. The person there in reception by the name of **- a big LIAR TOO. WE WERE GIVEN A LETTER THAT A DISCOUNT WOULD BE GIVEN AT THE END OF OUR STAY AND THAT TOO, THEY TOTALLY IGNORED. DISCOUNT OF $495.

Booked a room for two nights for 114 dollars a night military discount. This is way overpriced for the quality of the room we got. The air conditioner was so loud and vibrated we couldn't use it. There was no kitchenware in the room and when I asked for drinking glass, I got hard plastic glasses. The room smelled, the carpet was old and dirty. My 1996 camper is in better shape than the room. I would compare this hotel to a no name travel motel next to a truck stop in the bad part of town. This hotel is only worth 60 dollar a night at best.

After checking into my room I was put into a smoking floor and smoking room with Burns on the bedspread. I couldn't do that for two minutes. I'm making my wife sick. I called corporate. The first night department was closed but the manager said that I would be getting a free room in the corporate. Customer service will call me in 24 to 40 hours. Didn't call the next day so I called, left another message in and call. After $40 another message reservations were up and I wasn't sure if I should stay or leave because I was promised a free room, waiting for the free room. I was getting a special $99 rate for one night.
I brought the credit card down. The woman was too busy. She said she read it to me later. She charged $999 on my card. It was from a cash card and they could refund it for a week so I had to stay in hotel, paint ice right in the area and I called every day for we can customer service and never ever responded to my calls, emails or 14 messages. Customer service relations never took a call or returned a call in an entire week. I was forced to pay the highest rate and my money still isn't back on my cash card.

We stayed because it was rainy and flooded outside but I think more spraying and cleaning will make this place better.

On Sept 6, 2015 I visited Crossland Economy Studios - Atlanta - Norcross. 200 Lawrenceville St., Norcross, GA, 30071. When I originally booked the hotel on CheapTickets, I filtered that I wanted a hotel with a pool and breakfast. This is one of the most reasonably priced hotels which came up in the system. After comparing the amenities I paid - expected that when I got there, they would have all that they said they did. Upon checking in I was told by the hotel from desk assistant that the hotel was totally booked and I would have to wait a few hours. I explained that I traveled from out of state to attend a concert and I had limited time to get there so she agreed that my cousin could stay and check in early for me since I prepaid. While explaining my reservation I told the attendant that I had reserved a room with a double bed and I wanted to know where the indoor pool was located which was posted online.
She stated that the property did not have a pool at all. This frustrated me because that's the only reason I chose that property. The main thing I was looking forward to was having a pool there. I traveled from Washington, D.C. to Greenville, NC to bring my younger sister and she was expecting to swim. The next problem was there were no double beds at all on the property. The next issue was I sent my daughter to the front desk to get clean towels and wash clothes. The person at the desk told her that the guest had to trade their old linens for new ones in person. So, my daughter came back and gave me that message. I called and asked "When does the maid round? It states online that you all have maid service." The lady told me I could only get that service if I was staying 7 days or more.
This infuriated me even further. Everything about this hotel was a lie. The staff members were lazy and rude and I hated my entire stay at this location. I would never ever recommend anyone staying here. It's closer to being the "Bates Motel", than you think. I felt that this entire stay was a waste of money and I, even though I've stayed in extended stay properties before, I seriously question the professionalism of this establish and I'm turned off by this brand.

Let me just start off by saying, I have only did a review once in my life. But I felt like to share. This place was horrible. The front lot and the lobby looked decent (2nd fl), my room was on the 1st floor (Dungeon). As soon as I got off of the elevator; the smell of dog, cat, & possibly human urine hit me in the face. The hallway was filthy, I mean terribly filthy. So I get to my room, some woman is sitting on the floor on the phone and the person in the room next to mine had their door wide open. I go into the room and I immediately notice that the floors in the room are just as filthy as the hallway. I kept telling myself that it's only temporary. So the first night I stayed was cool (as can be considered), however, when I got up that morning there were like 2 centipedes in the tub and on the bathroom floor. I call the front desk to tell them about this and the woman's response was, "so what do you want me to do". I just hung up the phone.
The next morning it was the same thing. Centipedes in the bathtub. I didn't even bother calling, just killed them and went about my day. So the final day that I stayed at this place, I went to the front desk and asked for a bath towel. I almost fainted when she said they didn't have anymore. Like wtf, what hotel... Extended Stay hotel runs out of towels. I will never ever in my life stay at another Extended Stay in another city in another state as long as I live. This place needs to be burned to the ground. I also guess I failed to mention the thick marijuana smoke in the hallways as well. This place was deplorable. I carried my pistol to the front office. It felt like the hotel itself was just a bad neighborhood. NEVER AGAIN...

Me, my family and my 2 sisters just came back from an Alaska cruise, we booked 2 king rooms. The most important I booked to stay in this hotel is the free airport shuttle. I was so shocked when we arrived at this Tukwila Seattle (15635 w valley hwy) I was told we cannot stored our luggage at the concierge because our rooms won't be ready by 3 pm. I understand most hotels check in time is at 3 pm but we don't want to check in, all we want is to store our luggages so that we can go to downtown Seattle. After an hour trying to call the customer service, still no answers. So I asked the receptionist to downgrade our room to a queen bed so that we can at least put our luggages in the room.
Finally after 2 hours we have a downgraded room then I asked about the free shuttle to the airport. I was told the guy didn't come to work in the morning shift therefore there is no shuttle. We have to hail a cab to go to downtown for $40 each for a cab. The round trip of the cab costed us $160 and included the cab fare from the terminal port to there. I think I should get some reimbursements for my cab. Will never stayed at any of this hotel ever again. Such a disgusting and horrifying experience

Staff very rude to all customers, clearly not at all interested in being of service. Told a handicapped man that he had to bring down his own dirty towels and provide his own toilet paper. We walked towards our room with increasing uneasiness because the place was so run down and creepy. Opening the door, the smell of the "non-smoking room" was so awful and smoky we had to cover our mouths in order not to gag. The place had not been cleaned, the dirty towels and bedding were strewn about, although we'd been told the room was ready.
When I went to cancel the reservation, the staff was unapologetic and clearly unconcerned. There was a definite sense that the hotel is a front for illegal dealings, perhaps drugs and sex trafficking. A truly AWFUL experience to be avoided at all costs. This company is apparently a "sister" company of Extended Stay America but I wouldn't think they would want their name associated with such a dirtbag sister! Upon checking in and getting to my room, I noticed a foul smell of mildew and body odor which was overwhelming. Then to make my experience worse my bed sheets were full of hair and I could tell they didn't even change the linens. They just pulled the sheets up and made it look as if they did, but when I pulled the sheets back to find even more hair you could see the wrinkles and outline of the person that slept there the night before. I was disgusted, and went to the front desk to ask for fresh linen and I would put them on and the lady gave me attitude about them just being changed and told me that they didn't have any clean linens available and that she would call my room when she did. I never received that phone call.
It's pretty bad when a hotel is so filthy that you have to drive to Wal-Mart and buy your own bed set and Febreeze to try and kill the smell. On top of all that I have found numerous cockroaches running across my floor, countertops, and dresser. I am not even sure how this hotel stays in business and I'm pretty sure that in the near future it won't be. I met three other couples that upon checking in and got to their room came back to the front counter and checked out. I have to say I would have been right there with them had my stay not been non-refundable. This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had and I travel a lot. We seated for 30 min for her to finish. While waiting we noticed that people were coming out of the elevators with dogs. We went to our room, which was supposed to be a pet free room. When my husband went to bed he started to feel very bad with allergies. He is highly allergic to cats. I went to the front desk to complain. They argued that it was a pet free environment. This is unbelievable but true. My family to include wife, daughter and grandchildren arrived confirmation number in hand. We got there one early prior to 3pm check-in. The clerk said she knew our reservation but we had to wait for 3pm check-in. At 3PM another clerk took over and told us we had no confirmation. I showed her the confirmation number but she could not find it. Thus far, one clerk saw a reservation but the other claimed no reservation. It gets worse. We are told the manager was waiting to resolve things. After about 30 minutes the manager did us a favor offering us a room with burnt sheets and smoke filled air, a room nobody else wanted.
Meanwhile, families after families came after us and got their correct rooms, not us. We called Extended Stay booking office who had no trouble finding the reservation. We were told there was a computer glitch at Crossland Economy. The heartless folk at Crossland had us outside in the heat for an hour pretending to resolve the issue. When I called Extended Stay booking representative (and Crossland is an Extended Stay hotel), the representative spoke to Crossland directly and indicated to me that no one at Crossland was helping, confirming they were letting us stay outside like fools hoping we would just go away. The kind rep at central booking took pity on us and got us into another hotel 40 minutes further out.
I complained to Extended Stay guest relations who would not extend to us even the smallest of considerations. At least, give us a comparable rate at the alternate site. We drove 40 minutes away, wasted 3 hours and paid a lot more for Extended Stay buffoonery. I would leave it to the reader of this review to make their own assessment. Extended Stay America has some good locations. But they also have poor ones. Be leery. Stay away from Crossland Economy Orlando UCF.

My wife and I just returned from Albany, NY where we spent 27 days in your hotel. We purchased a room for the entire month of July because you offered a non-refundable, discounted rate. I found out why! The room was a dump! The filth was indescribable. Roaches leaped from the cabinet into my wife's hair. The carpet had long tears in it that could cut your feet. The refrigerator light did not work, the kitchen sink only produced very hot water, no cold. Also, there was no ventilation in the room. The only vent, in the bathroom was taped over because the smoke from the upstairs smokers room was coming in our room. The fire doors in the hallway were closed for three days because of a computer glitch that keeps the magnetized latch active, keeping them open. That is completely against fire code. The lock on the door was not secure, was actually hanging out and the door itself looked as though it was forced in from the frame.
I've taken pictures of these things in case I have to prove all of this. Another big issue is the fact that this hotel had so many construction workers staying there every night and they would be drinking, smoking weed and cursing like drunken sailors while they barbequed outside our window each night. There were also 'cat calls' when my wife and I would walk from our car to the door leading to our room! One morning I went out to my car to find it covered in filth from some men that were preparing the parking lot for re-surfacing. Even after I washed the car there was a tar-like substance on it that will not come off. I told Mr. ** about the incident with my car and he said he sent a flier around to everyone, I never got one. Whoever heard of re-surfacing a lot with a hotel full of guests?
Anyway, my vacation was ruined and I expect and demand a full refund. If not, Consumer Affairs in Washington will get a complete record of these events as well as photos I've taken. I will also notify TripAdvisor and any other sites that critique hotels and motels. I will also let all my friends on FaceBook know what a disappointment Extended Stay America is. I feel sorry for the staff. They were very nice and worked with what they had but I'm sure they know how disappointed so many guests were. Proof of that is the number of truckers that moved out of your hotel to the Crescent Suites, next door. I demand a full refund and am prepared to fight you for it completely.

I reluctantly stayed at the Extended Stay America on Shelby Oaks Drive in Memphis, TN, from August 19, 2014 until my check out in June, 2015. Upon check-in, I informed the General Manager, **, that I had MS and had great difficulty walking stairs without falling. This particular Extended Stay does not have an elevator. She was offering me a room on the 3rd floor. I told her that would not be viable due to my falls from the spasms and spasticity of my late stages Multiple Sclerosis, as well as heart and kidney disease. She then said she could offer me a second floor room. I agreed, with the caveat that I would be transferred to a first floor room as soon as one was available. She said that I would be able to receive a first floor room as soon as one was available.
For no less than 5 months, I requested and inquired about a first floor room on a weekly basis. I was constantly told no first-floor rooms (one bed) were available. However, on several occasions I noted young, clearly healthy couples and individuals check into first-floor rooms. I was treated quite rudely by a relatively new front desk clerk by the name of **. Another customer had expressed to me his disgust and dissatisfaction with this same front desk clerk. I would call downstairs to ask if I had received mail (since often my mail was forwarded to a nearby Value Place hotel). Since I was under the care of a neurologist and received updated appointments for MRI's and office visits by mail, it was imperative that I receive my mail in a timely fashion. On several occasions, I received my mail after the date for my appointment had expired.
In the Wintertime, there was excessive ice and snow on the stairs and parking lot of the hotel. Several times, I lost my footing and almost fell. I expressed my concern to management, to no avail. As the weather warmed up, there were numerous hornets, bees and other flying insects outside my door, as well as in the screen of my hotel room. I requested to ** that management get an exterminator. She ignorantly stated that she would send maintenance to my room. I attempted to explain to her that maintenance would not be able to exterminate; but rather, Extended Stay needed to hire an extermination company. She repeated two more times that she would send a maintenance worker to my room. This conversation was within earshot of the General Manager. I finally threw up my hands in frustration and stated to her, "never mind".
I contacted the District Office on two occasions, due to the rudeness of the management and lackadaisical attitude on the part of the General Manager and **, in particular. On one occasion, after ** was rude to a customer checking in (she told this new customer that she "didn't want to hear any complaining, wouldn't stand for it, and better hear only positive words"), as well as derogatory to me, I made my first call to The Corporate Office. The District Manager was quite perfunctory and abrupt; and he refused to provide any refund or address the issue of **'s incompetency and rudeness to the hotel's guests.
On the day I departed the hotel (after a 10 month stay), I was again contacted the Corporate Office and spoke to a gentleman named ** (to the best of my recollection), who said what I had experienced at Extended Stay America was unacceptable; and though he was a manager of Customer Care, he would contact the Corporate Office and assure me that I would be receiving a call in a timely fashion from a member of the managerial staff at The Extended Stay on Shelby Oaks Drive. He seemed both apologetic and aghast at my horrible stay at Extended Stay, which was mandated by a court case for Contempt of Court by my ex-military husband.
I did try to find other accommodations, elsewhere, for the last two months, but to no avail due to the full to capacity nature of the other full service hotel in the area. I cannot drive, due to being legally blind in one eye from Optic Neuritis and Subtle Papilledema, two eye diseases as a result of last stage MS. I expressed to the manager I spoke with earlier this month, that if I didn't receive a phone call in response to my dissatisfaction and numerous complaints as a result of the lack of professionalism and clear disregard for disabled citizens at Extended Stay; I would have no recourse but to publish my complaints in a Social Media forum. I have since attempted to contact The Extended Stay corporate office, to no avail.

When I got in room, it was dirty, someone just checked out, and it was not clean. I noticed bed has dog fleas in it. I went down to receptionist. Told him if he can change my room. He said "NO". He was very rude and misbehaving. Told me that "your reservation is through HOTWIRE. Go and talk to them. I cannot do any thing for you." I talked to HOTWIRE. They talked to the reception and fortunately there was another receptionist by that time. She assigned me a different room. Doing all this process it took me over 3 hours and it was 12:30 AM in the morning. I have the worst experience with this EXTENDED stay in my life.

In North Carolina sales tax is not to be collected on hotel stays of 90 days or more (Sales and Use Tax Technical Bulletin, Section 27, Part 1-c). I spent literally two years trying to get hold of the corporate office. The few times I was able to wait long enough to get someone on the phone, they said someone would get back to me and no one ever did. Finally I reached someone who was able to get my tax refunded for the current and some past stays but now they are charging me again and have recently refused the refund with some very spurious assertions. I contacted the general counsel for the company, who at first wholeheartedly endorsed those assertions until I asked him to back them up and attached a copy of the tax code. He then said he appreciated the information and someone would get back to me and no one has.
In addition they have been charging me and surely many others tax on a discount that should be taken before tax and have refused to even comment on that (Section 34-1). They no longer charge tax on the discount portion so they know they were in error. The NC tax people gave me copies the sections that were relevant but cannot get my money back for me. It is very possible they have overcharged thousands of people on discounts as some if not most other states have similar rules regarding how discounts are treated for sales tax purposes.
They are a public company that owns its hotels outright. This company has been extremely arrogant and has tried to intimidate and bully me. The general counsel, **, was the last person to reply stating: "In light of your grievance and the lack of clarity as to whether you're represented by counsel, I don't think it's appropriate for me to continue communicating." No one has contacted me since.

I had reservations in Winston Salem NC and when I arrived the office was dirty. The area where the fruit is and coffee was full of clutter and it smelled. I asked to see a model room just to see if the rooms were better than the first impression. The young lady at the front desk was nice, but she had her shoes off. I was immediately turned off. I decided to stay some place more upscale because this location looked like a dirty truck stop. The ones in Indianapolis look great, but the Winston Salem location is an unkempt property.

4444 Leetsdale Dr, Glendale CO - Booked on Priceline (my bad and won't do that again) so I didn't know where I was staying until I paid. Hotel promotes itself as "Cherry Creek"- not even close. Extended stay means you get basic kitchen utensils, right? But here you have to call and request them. I did and apparently ** at the front desk is 'too busy'. When I asked why I am not a priority (I just checked in an hour ago!!), she hung up on me. Yup. The front desk person at this place HUNG UP ON ME. It's now 1.5 hours later and still no word/service.
Additionally, trash at the stairwell, an empty 12 pack beer box on the landing. It's such a quintessential horrible experience that I'm actually amused. Until I remember that Priceline has my money until Wednesday. BTW: Priceline said they would call and try to negotiate a refund, but would not help me find a comparable place or guarantee I would get the same price anywhere else. It's Saturday night so if I check out, I'm on my own with no guarantee of a place to stay tonight that I can afford. Terrific.

If you want to stay in a place where people are up all night doing drugs and dealing them, this is the place. If you're a drunk who likes to continually harass women and children, this is your hotel. If you need incompetent staff who like to gossip about the guests to other guests, you have found your hotel. If you like to be woken up all night by constant banging and slamming of doors because many guests are wired on some sort of drug, this is your place. If you are a woman with children and you want to be intimidated by other guests then thrown out into the street only after being threatened to be killed by some of them, this is the place for you.
I cannot for the life of me understand this level of ignorance in a corporation. The staff were terrible and if you make the slightest comment about getting something fixed, you become their enemy. If you try to get in touch with the corporate office, forget it. They will never respond and they do not even answer the phone. My wife and children were terrified to stay there. They were thrown out after being threatened by another guest several times. It was a nightmare. I would rather sleep on a sidewalk. It is more safe. Forget the rules about not smoking pot on the premises. The skunk smoke flows from the windows. It was almost as terrifying trying to get out of there. I'm glad the police were there. I can only imagine what the people are like who own this trash hole. I wouldn't work for them if they were the last company on earth.

When we arrived at the Waltham location at 11:00 pm that night we were told that they had no knowledge of our reservation. I then called ** the next day and wanted to find out what the problem was and was told that she would look into it and call me the next day.
Not only did I never receive a call back from her and found out that she never called the manager of the Waltham location to resolve our issue. I found this to be extremely bad customer service to not only ignore us but to sell our room to someone else and then try to push us off on someone else. My family was very happy and excited to move into an Extended Stay America Hotel, but our experience has turned out to be sadly disappointing because of the staff: mainly because of the maintenance man with the European accent. We are writing to express our discontentment with the services of some of the staff at this hotel in hopes you can help to rectify this uncomfortable situation. We do know that a few employees do not represent the whole company and it is a sad state of affairs that my family does not feel safe and comfortable in your hotel.
The issue we had with the hotel first, was the mold in the bathroom and some dirty dishes left behind on top of the cabinets. We informed them about those issues and cleaned the mess ourselves because the management first said they were going to do it, and didn't. There were also no pots, pans, silverware or cooking utensil in the unit so we had to bring and use our own. Then there were the water leaks (including the air condition unit by the sofa bed), the low water pressure, and the loose shower rail in the bathroom that kept fallen down. We were also uncomfortable when we found out that the shower curtain had so much mildew and mold on it that my mother became sick.
We informed the staff about these things and their response was for us to put in a new shower head. I finally went and got another shower curtain! Concerning the air/heat unit, it was leaking so much that the computer items and other valuables were soaked. They said they couldn't come out to fix it because it was a holiday. We understood, but later when we kept calling about it they would say OK, but no one was sent to fix it. They did not fix the water leaks and then the cable would go in and out all the time after they started working on the roof. Another issue was the window by the sofabed that could not open or close and the leaky air unit that would not work. There was another issue with a broken chair and broken bathroom fan that came crushing down in the bathroom. The fan in the bathroom was fixed but we still haven't received another chair.
We also have problems with the manager **. On a Saturday afternoon as we were taking a nap ** entered our room without our permission, he used his key-card and entered our room. He didn't even knock! He said he thought the room was vacant and thought we did not pay. We had payed for the room that morning. Another incident like this happen again with ** and with the maintenance man while my mother and I were still in our pajamas. He declared that there was a complaint from the room below about water damage and said it was because of the shower head we installed with their permission. They also yelled at us and threatening to evict us. The maintenance man also did not clean up after himself in the bathroom because there were black stains in the tub from his boots and finger imprints everywhere he touch.
Two maintenance men also came unannounced and without notice to fix the other air unit by the beds while my mother and I were getting dressed. We didn't have a problem with them fixing it, a courtesy call would've been nice. We did have a problem with one of the maintenance men returning to our room and using his key to enter while we were getting dressed. We thought they had finished working on it. When my mother chastised him about that he was unapologetic, defensive and argumentative. All she told him was "wait until you are invited to come in, don't just entered." It was very disturbing to be seen disrobing.
There is also a horrid stench coming from the elevator, sewage, from outside and we have to close the windows. I don't know why there is such a shortage with the linens, especially the washcloths and towels. Some days there just aren't any washcloths and towels. One day we went to one of the maids to ask for some washcloths but she didn't have any. So we went to the closet at the end of the hall to see if any maids were there. As we were knocking on the door the maintenance man came up to us and was shouting and demanded that we leave. Told us we didn't have the right to be there. That we needed to go downstairs to the front desk and get them. We tried to tell him that we had already done that and that they didn't have any. He would not listen and continued to yell at us. His conduct was very harsh, and bellicose!
On April 28, 2015 some of the staff came unannounced and refused to identify themselves. I would not let them in until they identified themselves as the staff from downstairs (under the guise of checking the water). We told them to wait while we got decent because my mother was about to take a shower and didn't have on clothes. Since they were yelling at us to open the door, even telling us that we only had two seconds to open the door or they would break down the door! Can you imagine our surprise and the distressed they caused us. One minute we're going about our daily business of bathing when suddenly we have to rush and put on clothes. And to do that to my mother who is handicap, in constant pain, with severe neuropathy in both feet, scar tissue in her bowels because of illness and surgery, blind in one eye, no cartilage in her knees, and walking with a cane!
They told us that we had two hours to pack up and leave! All the while we allowed them to search the unit with one of the police officer (who didn't identify themselves as police). We had to call the police to get that information and ** who did not identify herself as management, said we had to talk to management to get this resolve. Today when I went down to pay, ** interrupted ** from accepting my payment. ** was so vicious in his verbal attack with me that another guest, a middle-age white lady, came to my defense. She was there to complain about something that was broken in her unit. She told ** that she had waited two weeks. He was kind to her and responded in a humane way. Also, the staff keeps coming in without permission, making it impossible for to look for work, apartments or leave the room in the daytime.
We have been rejected from making payments and reservations at Extended Stay America, Indianapolis, Indiana 9370 Waldemar Rd. This is based on claims of damage by water and alleged intimidation to staff. We were told that we have ten days from the first of May to leave the property. Our reservation was canceled and they said that I, ** was a no show. ** refused to provide any information. He told me that I had to talk to **. I gave ** my cell phone number. I waited for **'s call, which did not come.
However, the law states that we have at least thirty days to leave. We have spoken with a VP of the company and he refuses to send anyone out to investigate the water damage, or a mediator for the intimidation claims. Recently, a health inspector that we called arrived and did not find any damage from water, nor did he find any leaks from our room or the room below. This being the case, there is no reason to be evicted, or have our payments rejected. Our reservation has been canceled. We have simply asked for proof of any issues. We have recordings where we have been shouted at, verbally abused, treated with disrespect by the manager and the maintenance man who walked into our room without permission. We need an answer on the payment issue. We find it unacceptable that the manager and district manager want to kick us out without proof of any wrong doing.
This process has also been repeated by your regional manager, and is not right. We are paying customers and expect to be reimburse and to have this threat of an eviction removed. I have told management to call me whenever a problem arises, and to have the courtesy to place a courtesy call before coming to our room unannounced, expecting to be allowed in immediately. Such as when they visit or if something is broken. This has yet to happen. Dealing with management has not led to solutions. I have repeatedly told them what numbers to contact me by, and I cannot leave from work everyday, without any warning or preparation. I do not understand this eviction and it has never been explained to me.
When speaking to management they have claimed that no one else in the room can be dealt with but me. But when I last spoke to ** he refused to comment further on our eviction. **, the regional manager want us out without just cause and to unjustly ban us for life from all Extended Stay America hotels. This was told to us by the regional manager, **. He refused to cooperate with us and has refused to investigate our side of the matter. The only option he offered us was for us to admit guilt for everything: the alleged water leak and intimidating some of his staff. However, it has been the area manager, **, the hotel manager, ** and the white maintenance man that have been harassing us and have been extremely disrespectful.
To want us out and to refuse to fully explain why we have to leave, and by ignoring our concerns, as well as refusing our payments, violates our rights. I have been forced to speak to clerks at the desk who know little of our situation and have no authority, this is where we stand as of now. This harassment has compromised my work. It is stressful and it cannot continue. We need clarification on this matter from someone to avoid confusion.

When I arrive the front desk had no one there. Then I notice a sign laying down on the counter that gave me instructions to hit 0 on the phone. When he came he gave my key and that was all. When I got to my room I needed to take meds. No cups so I call back on my cell. I noticed the cabinets were open and did not have any of the inventory but it was late and my rental car had given me trouble on the road so he finally bought me cups. But he had also told me he was cleaning rooms, so did not trust they were clean because he said he had to find some. That morning I had a meeting and when I got back went to use the phone and no cord. So I checked out at 4 am and I expressed my reasons why I was not happy. She told me they get a lot of complaints about service and a lot of the phones don't work. Then she can't print me a receipt because she don't know where they keep the paper.
She takes all my complaints and take my email and said she was gonna have the manager call asap. I drive back to Dayton and still no call. Leave a message and the clerk calls me back and says "you the guy who got here late from Dayton." I said, "Yes. Why did I not have any plates and etc in my room?" He tells me there is a stand on the counter. I tell him, "No the lady who checked me out showed me the sign and I said all that trash outside my door all weekend bags and bags of trash in front of my door in a hole in the stairs". He puts the manager on and he says, "You just trying to get me to give you money back". I told him I am in customer service field and I was born and raised in Durham NC and there are only certain places I will stay when I come home and when my agent to me Crabtree area I remember it being nice and near the mall.
This property is the worst of yours I have ever stayed in: 1) door all scuffed up; 2) won't close tightly; 3) was never told I needed to sign out ice trays and kitchen supplies; 4) nasty bags of garbage piled up outside my door until Sunday when I was leaving; and 5) no phone cord, and your manager tell me it was your responsibility to tell us you needed one. My response was don't you have a check list on getting rooms ready. I said to him "my agent told me you were a 3 star property". His reply was Extended Stay will never be 3 star so I asked him to email me his supervisors number and name since he had my email and I would have a paper trail for my booking agent cause 3 star never 1 star at best.
The lady who check me out agreed with all I said, but the manager I am calling to confirm he got my complaint. He comes at me like I was trying to run a scam. My room was paid for soon as I confirmed so if your property has so many issues and you want me to inform you of what you are not doing or need to fix. I am a customer and you should never talk to me the way. Your manager talk to me today. I will never return to that property ever again. He needs to be trained on how to handle complaints and not be so combative. 6) A SMOKING ROOM AND I NEVER RECEIVED AN ASHTRAY. ANOTHER ITEM THE DESK CLERK SAID HE WAS HAVING TROUBLE FINDING AND I NEVER GOT ONE. You talk about safety issues. Wow. No ashtrays in smoking room. Oh I had to call and remind them. They forgot. My husband reserved a room at the Stanley Road location in Greensboro NC May 8-10, 2015. We guaranteed our reservation with a credit card because we knew we would arrive very late: we both worked all day that Friday and didn't even leave our home until 7:30pm. We were headed to watch our nephew graduate college in High Point, NC. We called the hotel around 10pm to let them know we wouldn't arrive until 12:30 or 1 am. The clerk on duty told us that we had no room there- that they have a standard 6pm cxl time. So, we have ourselves and our 2 kids with us, we are going to arrive in the middle of the night with nowhere to go.
Our reservation had been guaranteed with a credit card because we knew it would be late and we wanted to be sure we had a room to go to. Well, what were we thinking? Apparently if you stay at this chain, you must check in by 6 pm!! - Ludicrous!!!!! Why would we give our card number to hold anything if we didn't need a late arrival? Answer- we wouldn't - no one would. We asked the clerk to help us find a room- he wouldn't & didn't. He also said that we could call back and talk to **; that she would refund us- this happened all the time. Needless to say, we missed our nephews graduation because it was early in the morning & we didn't find a place until around 2 am with our boys in tow. Not only did they bill US once for "no showing", but they billed us twice!!!! Plus it costed us an extra $45 a night plus tax for the place we ended up staying.
I got a call at 7:30am this morning from a desk clerk with this hotel- yes 7:30am - a ridiculous time for a business call!!! As we spoke, he was very condescending and even snickered at me while I was talking. He said he had refunded one of the 2 charges and he would have to call the district manager about the rest of it. He said he would call back in 10 minutes or so. So, two hours later WE called them back. The manager, **, stated that the person who called us didn't have the authority to refund anything, and she would have to call her district manager. I just talked the manager, they did agree to refund both of the charges. However, because we failed to meet their policy, they were not responsible for what they cost us. Instead, they offered us a free 1 night stay at any location. Why would we ever stay with them again? Answer- we wouldn't!!! And we still missed my nephews graduation!! Thanks a lot!!

Another thing, we had LOTS of ants in our room, & during the middle of the night I woke up and noticed a bug on our wall! This place is extremely nasty. The room smelled like cat piss when we walked into it the first night we got it. They didn't do anything about the smell.. We are trapped in a cycle of poverty yet we aren't technically "poor". This hotel chain caters to "one nighters" and families that don't have credit or down payments for apartments. We had never stayed with Extended Stays before this and took a chance based on photos, but would never have if we had read reviews of other Extended Stays. They conveniently omit them from their website for obvious reasons.
In short, this is one of the worst hospitality businesses that is out there. The authorities who have oversight in cities with Extended Stays should take note and place these motels under scrutiny. If necessary, shut them down for the violations that seem to be a normal practice within their establishment. It amazes me that the top management staff who run Extended Stays isn't aware of a widespread problem and do something to address this. My parents have been staying at this hotel for over 3 months and have paid 7600 dollars to them, which is ** ridiculous. They wouldn’t put my parents on a monthly plan. God forbid you don’t make a ** ton of money by ** the people staying there right? ** is the manager here and she is the ** manager I have ever worked with when it came to anything. The assistant manager, ** , isn’t trained to do the manager job and always runs to ** with every little thing.
I went in there to use my card to pay my rooms rent and he ran to ** , who was sitting in the back on the phone with her husband talking about where they were going to go for lunch the next day, just to see if I could use my card to pay my room's rent. I’m sorry but if you don’t have the knowledge of being a manager or even an assistant manager then you shouldn’t be one. The only person that has been helpful at this location has been ** , who works the front desk on the afternoon shift. Everyone else has been a joke for customer service. Even if you call Corporate they won’t do a damn thing for you, corporate for Extended Stay America doesn’t care at all for any of their customers who stay with them. All they care about is money and they don’t care that they have ** people working for them.
Anyways back to the main point, 3 1/2 months me and my family have been staying here and roughly 10,000 dollars and we are being kicked out because we have called corporate too much and have been raising flags for "no reason". I’m sorry but we have paid 10,000 dollars to your ** company, the least corporate can do is actually ** look into their goddamn management and maybe make 1 of the hundreds of ** extended stays actually worth staying in. They are lucky I don’t burn this ** hotel to the ground. Oh and yes I will be suing this company for the money that they overcharged me and my parents. I will get back our 5000 that is owed to us. Don’t stay at any Extended Stay, customer service is ** , corporate doesn’t care about you, and the rooms are ** terrible.

My husband is working out of town near Houston. He came to pick me up from Corpus so I could spend time with him. We phoned and made reservations with Extended Stay with confirmation number and a weekly rate quote of $524.93. By the time we got to the hotel they had already charged our card $603.68! With the reason that "the booking agent never tells that there is a 15% tax owed daily for rooms". I tried to get in touch with the "hotel manager" for three days who never bothered to show up to work or place a return phone call! We were told that "cleaning service would be provided Sunday April 12th, 2015". We went down to pay the overpriced rate, once again we never got cleaning service. I phoned the lobby and asked why? They explained to me that seeing that we were "staying another week, room service was not an option!" I then had to find a maid to request fresh towels, face clothes and linens for our bed!
Me proceeded to get on my hands and knees and mop the floors, clean and scrub the bathroom, clean toilet, wash sink and remake the bed! I then asked for a vacuum and was given a "steam cleaner" to clean the carpets with! REALLY!!! I did all the cleaning! My husband and I went to the store to pick up cleaning fluid for the steam cleaner so we could have clean carpets! Paying over $1,200 in two weeks and I don't even get our hotel room cleaned! Finally one week later the manager phones and doesn't offer anything but, "I am sorry for the miscommunication." Again, REALLY! Your guests have to change sheets and steam clean floors and all we get is "sorry for the miscommunication."

And just recently I had a serious illness for a week and I asked if I could pay my weekly rate over a few days cause I missed 4 days work. They said no and ended charging me double plus $40 and said "You have to pay by 11 am or get out!!" Is this the way to treat people? The place smells and is nasty and I was told by employees that the supervisor is only concerned about her bonus, is that why they have spoiled fruit. I'm making arrangements to get the hell out of here. They act like they don't want you here at all. All they care about is $$$$ they only care about their own pocket and not consumers! We stay in many different hotels and the Extended Stay in Columbia MO is by far the absolute worse I've ever stayed. After checking in, Hubby and I went out and got take out and was looking forward to coming back to the room to relax, eat and watch TV. Before we left, we turn the AC down so that the room would be cool when we got back. We got back and the room was still hot!!!! Called down to the lobby and the clerk said he would tell maintenance. I asked if we could move rooms, he said that NO we could not because we had already "dirtied" the room. (All we did was take luggage in, turn air down and leave). We tried to make the best of it and wanted to enjoy our take out. NO DISHES! Nothing!!!! I called downstairs and was told I would have to come down to get the dishes. I went down and was given a big container to carry back upstairs with dishes.
The room was hot all night and my husband and I were miserable! We were to have a room with 2 double beds... these double beds were the smallest double beds I had ever seen. We slept in separate beds because of how hot the room was. Upon checking out at 8 am, there was no one at the desk and the "gate" was still up. I waited and finally some girl showed up and I had to speak with her through the gate. I asked for corporate number and she said "If you want it, you will have to go on the internet and find it." I explained that the a/c did not work and she said she would let maintenance know. Needless to say we will never stay at another Extended Stay based on the rudeness of their staff.

Extended Stay America Salisbury Jacksonville Florida - Checked in yesterday March 25, 2015. They really should take the sign down and close this location until they get rid of their roaches and it's no excuse coz other reputable hotels don't have roach problems like this. Woke up this morning. Went in kitchen on counter near dishwasher there one was a dime size roach. When I appeared it ran under the counter, lol. I booked this hotel thru Priceline then read the reviews on it, too late coz Priceline doesn't give refunds so I'm stuck. The management always give a lame apology in reviews and say they are addressing the problems check the reviews it's been going on for almost 2 years.
This place seems to cater to weekly and monthly renters. Saw mostly workers (construction) in the lobby area for their breakfast which is a joke and which I passed on, and the hotel only cleans rooms weekly or weakly take your pick when someone stays over a week or when you check out unless you pay them to clean your room by the way.
When I first checked in and used the toilet I raised the lid as we men do and brown liquid stains. The housekeeping evidently cut corners and only wiped the toilet seat didn't clean the whole toilet. Also hair, not mine in sink and on one of the pillows on bed, housekeeper's hair do you think? Lol. Back to the problem. When you have people cooking and eating in these rooms and you don't clean up every day and remove food from being out coz some people are nasty you breed roaches. Since roaches hide in and behind appliances if management thinks they can get away cheap by having housekeepers clean only what can be seen. They're only fooling themselves. I would bet that if you moved the refrigerator you would find something crawling.
They need to hot shot bomb these rooms like a landlord does when tenants move out and air out for 2hrs then clean room instead of folding toilet paper. Housekeepers should leave toilet seats up showing they have been cleaned. Housekeeping complaint cards should be left in room for new hotel guest to fill out. By the way clean hotel includes the carpet in the hallways. Also it should be cleaned like the drug and grocery stores everyday coz that's where you have most of your traffic. Stairs need spot cleaning. This is common sense for a manager, it's simple things that don't cost a lot but it has to be a consistent continual process routine maintenance that never cuts corners.
Its reasons some hotels get the same negative reviews and others get good reviews, its management and being well staffed. They should take out the kitchen appliances people rarely use and introduce a decent breakfast with staff present to cater to guest, not some maintenance guy in breakfast area. Again their breakfast is a joke I passed. Got 4 more nights here bracing myself already. See can't even put food items on the counter's guest. Management expects guest to bring their own roach spray and cleaning supplies. In my opinion this Extended Stay location is bringing the franchise down and should be closed.

Not bad for a couple of nights although a non smoking room, our room reeked of stale smoke. The furnishings were in terrible shape. Stuffing coming out of the chair & rips in the upholstery. Our biggest complaint/confusion was the homeless people hanging out in the lobby, eating at the grab and go, sleeping in the workout room and in the floor in unrented rooms. I understand compassion, but we paid $150 a night and thought we would have a slightly more sophisticated environment. These people had the run of the hotel during our stay. Coming and going just like paying guests. Very unprofessional. Won't return!

12 days prior to our check in night on Friday March 13, 2015 at 6pm at 8520 Northwest Blvd. Indianapolis In 46278 ESA Indianapolis-West 86th St. Our Reservation was made through Booking.com and I am aware that is a third party issue but this has to do with my full encounter at your location. My Booking number was **. I had went to Booking.com and placed a reservation that requested Two double rooms with two queen beds. Now at the time of check in I was told I had two rooms with one bed and a pull out chair. This again is not what I had reserved for us, I confirmed by a phone call prior to us making the trip to your city at your location at 12pm on Friday and earlier in the morning with Booking.com. Feeling that I had both of my basis covered I was feeling sure that departing on our trip things were in order and ready for us. This reservation was for 6 people.
I made that clear to Booking.com and to Extend a Stay when I called to make sure there were not sleeping arrangement issues. The confirmation I had gotten was 2 queen doubles with a pull out bed as well in each room. I had also stated at the time of reservation that I was also going to pay the bill at the time of check in, In full and in cash. Never by either the Extend a Stay and The third party was I told I would also be required to pay 100.00 deposit. Not that I minded but I did not expect that as well as a hold being placed on my card would take place. The reason for me including all of this information now is because I want to cover all I can before I go forward and tell you what has happened.
Friday again we arrived at your location in Indiana at approx 6 pm. Upon checking in ** was there as our counter person and I would like to say she went above and beyond all she could to help us. We checked in and at the time I was informed my reservation was not in your system as it seemed and was confirmed to me that morning/afternoon prior to our departure. Upon check in we were told your location was overbooked and that we did not request two bed in each room, I was traveling with 5 others.
I was first given room 133 and 309 Room 309 is only a one bed (full size) and no pull out in the room so that left 2 people without anywhere to sleep. ** being told rooms were all clean went ahead and put them in room 109, that had a full-size bed and a pull out couch, leaving one person sleeping on the floor. When these girls checked their room out they found food in the refrigerator, spoiled at that and excrement in the toilet, the girls went to the counter and asked if someone could clean the room and we were told it was stocked with towels and clean, It was not.
** gave her and I a toilet brush and cleaner to clean the bathroom and we were told there were not any towels available to us they were out. We ended up cleaning the toilet, That in my opinion was not acceptable. But we were stuck in a situation where we had no choice. No rooms available elsewhere and No rooms that could accommodate us. Now once it was time to sleep one girl ended up sleeping on the floor and Which to our discovery at 11 pm when we had to go down and ask for bedding and blankets we were told there is no available bedding.
Ok no towels and no bedding, NO pillow cases and the pillows had yellow stains all over then and there was dog food all over the floor. Are you kidding me. This is just one of the rooms we reserved. I haven't gotten to the next one. One of the girls who had slept in that room ended up with 12 flea bites on her body that have became irritated by the time Sunday rolled around. Now in room 133 there is also a full size bed and a pull out chair, not two Queens as we were told.
Making do with what we had and trying to calm the situation with the girls we found out at this time none of the rooms had remotes to the TV and none of the rooms had plates silverware coffee makers pans coffee cups nothing. ** told us that this was something new and that we had to ask for it and usually we would have to put a deposit down for toaster, coffee pot, dishes, dishwasher soap and the rest of the items that are listed on your site as amenities to the room but ** was doing us a favor and not charging us a deposit, But "sorry No pans are available for you."
So now there is no bedding, No pans and No Towels. At the time I went back down and request a blanket it was after midnight and I was given a bedspread as well. I slept in my vehicle. Our first night there which was not acceptable except for the fact that I had 5 college students there with me whose grades depended upon their presence at function this weekend and I could not leave. I was told there would be a double available to us in the morning and I decided at that time ok better than nothing.
I will make do and just take what I got. But in order for us to get this room I would have to be at the counter by 6:30 am to 7am to get this room. I was at the counter and spoke to **. At first ** seemed very accommodating and friendly. I requested to speak with ** the manager of the hotel because honestly I was unhappy. ** told me "I will call her, could you check back in a little bit? I will have an answer to you, I just have to verify I can move you to the other room and accommodate you otherwise."
I asked when she was due in and she told me within the hour but she really didn't know because "** has insomnia and took a sleeping pill and went to bed and turned off her phone." ** told me at that time she would go ahead and just move us to the one double room but we would have to wait till after 11 am when checkout time came and that she would get her house keepers on it right away after the tenants check out. Under the impression that the manager would be in within an hour I went to the girls' room and helped them get their things together and get ready for their business they had to attend to--Our reason for coming.
I went back to the counter at 9:15 to ask ** if the manager was in yet she told me "Uh no I just got a text message from her and she told me not to do anything until she came in." And that would not really delay anything cause the room has to be cleaned anyways. Now it would in my opinion delay things because now the double room we were promised we were now unsure if we would be getting. At 10 am I went back down to the front desk and ** told me that the manager had text her and that she would be there in 20 min, But as our compensation she will go ahead and leave the pantry open for the girls that were with me for them to help themselves to granola and such if need be.
That really wasn't ok but I sat in the lobby waiting for the manager and avoiding disappointing the girls any further. 20 min passed ** was attempting to do laundry and check people in. The manager was not there, I asked ** again "is there a problem, is your manager running late?" She told me it was unlike her to not be there by now since she only lives 10 min away but she is caring for her grandson and is a single mom so she has a lot on her plate. I now know way more than I ever need to know about the manager. Except for when she is coming in to speak with me. I gave ** my phone number and I asked that the manager please please call me.
It is now after 10 am and these girls have functions they HAVE to be at! And we are already running late now waiting this long. We postponed our start time and waited until 11:30 to start loading up to go down town. I checked over and over between 10am and 11:30 asking if the manager was ever coming in, during this time ** says she is just going to move us into two double doubles and suffer the consequences.
One room becomes available before long and we moved things to room 307 then ** tells me that the manager had a family emergency and that she had to deal with this and wire her son money and now I know more about your manager and her personal life such as she is across the street wiring 400 dollars to her son who just wrecked his car and how her other son wrecked his a few weeks prior to that. I don't care about, that it is none of my business if she is buying them cars and they are wrecking them or not, I was just wanting to speak with her and try to figure out a resolve to this matter.
We pulled out of your parking lot at 2pm and ** had not shown up or reached out to speak with me but apparently been in contact with ** and told her as a bonus I could have a single queen room as well and that was room 235. I told ** "I cannot wait any longer, I have to get these girls down town and have other business to attend to But I would be back by 4, is it possible that the manager would be there?" ** told me that she was positive that she would be there but that she was promised that she was going to call me and she was true to her word and she was a wonderful person so she was sure she would not disappoint us on taking care of things.
At this point I was 56 dollars over charged, Put into two wrong rooms, cleaned them, been to the counter more times than I can count and tried to satisfy these girls that spent their hard earned money to stay there and honestly they had over paid in my opinion. 421.16 too much. I came back to the location at about 4 to 4:15pm to find ** was gone and that ** was working there at the front desk, I approached ** and I asked if the Manager was there and could I speak to her, I was told and I quote "Nope she sure isn't she had been here all day, she left at 4pm."
I said to ** "My name is ** and I was put into this room and could you tell me if the rooms were completed and stocked with towels and such?" He said yes. Room 134 had ONE towel and 3 wash clothes in it that was it!!!! He called me a liar, I went down to the room got the towel and washcloths and showed him because he informed me he did not have to come down and look for himself if ** said the rooms were done they are done. I asked ** to please contact the manager and that I wanted to speak with her asap, And asked him why I would lie about a towel after everything we had to deal with, ** told me He doesn't care what happened yesterday. It had nothing to do with him, he isn't dealing with it.
At this time a woman came down from upstairs asking for towels. He told her "uh sorry we're out, don't know what to tell you but we won't have any until tomorrow." ** told me he would not be contacting the manager she is off and it's not his problem. I told him look I have been through enough and this woman was suppose to call me and has not. I want to talk to someone in management and I would like the corporate nbr and I want to talk to the manager. At this time ** stuck his hand in my face and told me I don't know how to shut up and listen to him, he is the man in charge, he is done with me. ** walked off and disappeared.
For about 30 min comes back with a stack of towels and wash clothes and hands them to one of the girls who was with me, who was in 134 and handed them to her and said "now you have more than one." He saw that I was trying to get ahold of your customer service nbr and then he called your boss. I will be honest, Things got heated between ** and I, I had one of the girls record our conversation because he again stuck his hand in my face again and further insulted me. Finally **called in, he explained to her I was demanding to speak with her, ** talked to me and the first words out of her mouth was a lie.
She told me that she was at the front desk all day long from 7 am until 4 pm. If she was there through the total of 2 hours that I sat in the lobby and all the time I spent going back and forth with ** asking to speak with her. She was either hiding or not there. Then she proceeded to tell me that there was no way I paid in cash when I got there because this establishment did not allow cash payment, Uh yeah you have a big sign there that says 100 dollar cash deposit with all cash payments.
** also told me how she was giving me two double doubles and a single, I told her "no, Not true, I paid 421.16 for two double doubles and you gave me one single after avoiding me all day long and then having ** treat me as he did and I promise you I have a recording to verify how he treated me. I honestly should have called the cops on him, I have never in my life had customer service like that and will never ever allow such a manner to happen again." I was beyond upset and I lost my patience and temper at this point of the manager not coming in putting it all on booking.com and booking.com putting it on you, and then when I pointed out that there was information on the website that said different then what she said and they said but that I could understand somethings will differ but that filth is no excuse, black socks from the room carpet. Ok in a hotel that may or may not happen but flea, dog food, ** in the toilet, having to clean the toilet and refrigerator, as well as the run around no bedding, towels. "No I am done, I would either like you to transfer us to a different extended stay or refund our money and we will go elsewhere."
She then told me that extend a stay is obviously not the kind of place I have ever stayed at. We stayed there because this is a place that I have used in the past and honestly I truly liked extend a stay till this weekend. My overall plan was to allow these girls to do their thing this weekend to make their grade for their college credit they needed and for me to be able to rest, Not deal with the front desk and issues all weekend long, which is what it was from the time I checked in until the time I checked out.
I would love to have my money back, I paid in cash, Your manager told me there is no way that will happen, But with the state of this hotel and the treatment received I honestly honestly don't ever think I will use extend a stay again. What I have told you is true, and that is not even the tip of the iceberg. The fact that there was no dead bolt on my door of room 235 left me feeling unsafe since ** had called his friend to the location and she stared not only me down but the girls as well when we were out and about at the hotel.
The leaking sink and broken dishwasher, Non working Iron in the room and being told we're out and don't have on all the needs that the hotel stated having and was part of the package of rental was disheartening to say the least. We bought an iron, lost food because we brought ours thinking we would be able to cook it and incurred cost of towels as well as restaurants and extra gas. I am not asking for reimbursement of that just my hotel stay.
That is all and that maybe your company can look into the treatment that ** and your manager give customers, As well as whomever the night clerk was who was smoking and chatting it up with someone outside half the night in front of the hotel. Not to mention the fact that given the sound of the voice I am willing to guess the drunk woman she was chatting it up with was the manager herself. But that is my own assumption not fact as to whom your associate was speaking with. At this point there has yet to be any response from district manager or customer relations. They just keep giving a different email address to contact.

Buyer Beware. I will never book a room through Extended Stay America again. Made a reservation online through booking.com (for Tuesday, 3/10). Actually called the hotel on the day of the reservation to confirm availability of the room and to confirm that hotel had a shuttle to the airport. Was dropped off at the hotel at approx. 5:30 PM. Was informed that they were "overbooked" and that I did not have a room. They offered to send me to their sister hotel a half mile away. I informed them that I was dropped off and did not have a car. Front desk offered to call me cab. I said that was OK if they were willing to pay for it. Front desk refused. Oh, as an aside, it was raining outside. I informed her that this was a problem and how did they plan to address it.
Rather than, say, apologizing for the inconvenience or offering to pay for my cab to the other property, or maybe just practicing some customer service, she said they HAD addressed the problem -- they had booked me at the other property. In other words, they had addressed THEIR problem, not the customer's. She then went on to say, "I don't know why they booked the room." Yeah, neither do I, nor was that relevant to the problem at hand.
I asked to speak to the manager -- manager not there. She called the manager and left a message -- never heard back. In the meantime, I also found out that they did not have shuttle service to the airport -- something that was advertised in the online booking and was the main reason I booked with them in the first place. When I left, I gave the front desk my name and number and asked that the manager give me a call. A few hours later and I have yet to hear from anyone.
So, let's recap: Extended Stay America practiced bait-and-switch by falsely advertising available rooms at a specific rate and shuttle service to the airport when, in fact, neither were available. When I arrived, they refused to honor that commitment. Front desk staff was rude, unprofessional, unpracticed in basic customer service and refused to take responsibility for solving the problem the ESA created. Manager was "unavailable" and continues to be non-responsive. The entire operation reeks of unprofessionalism and has a basic "slum" vibe.

The front desk clerk was helpful in remaking the entire bed as I gagged. (A side note is that this is an AL room). Which is why we didn't just change rooms right away.
Other things that seem odd; the carpet in the hallway and in the bedroom are smelly. I have taken it upon myself to clean all surfaces that we touch and disinfect. Simply because it doesn't seem that housekeeping takes a lot of care in what they do. We are staying a week, thinking the odds MAY be better here than the competition. I understand that pets are allowed in hotels, why do humans have to sleep in the same beds that other pet owners have had their pets? We are not aware of their habits or hygiene. The smells make me gag and have nausea. Is there any middle ground here?

There was also blood on the bathroom wall so at that point I took pictures. I called to request a different room but no one answered. I called the 1-800 number but all locations were booked and there weren't any rooms elsewhere due to it being Valentines day. A terrible place to stay and asked for a refund but haven't heard back yet.

After waiting over an hour to check in, the front desk employee then informs me that there won't be a room ready for a while still. I had reserved two different rooms for my father in law and one for me and my girlfriend. They were going to give us one room then after waiting an hour and make us wait a few more hours for the other room. HORRIBLE SERVICE! The entire time I was in the lobby, the manager was busy with the district manager hopefully replacing some of his housekeeping who can't keep up.
This is the 4th time this week that this has happened to me and my family. The other three incidents which also involved issues with rooms not being done on time. The hotel staff weren't even sincere or sorry about the fact I waited for an hour for no reason! They should fire every employee and start over! DON'T stay here - filled with thieves and garbage. Police were there entire time as well. Definitely run down hotel but I was willing to give it a try for the rate. Disappointed, I watched one girl come in with no cash deposit and then she cancelled and left and the front desk person still told me it would be a wait for the second room. I watched someone cancel however they still decided to make my family and I wait. Staff is rude, inconsiderate and trashy!

When I arrived I had to wait for the clerk to finish her personal conversation before I could check in and then she tells me she is giving me complete opposite of what I asked for, I got a parking lot ground floor room next to the main entrance and she could give a crap! Never again. I come to deerfield beach every two months on business and they don't care about guest retention at all! Room dirty. Not bed but lamps and surfaces! Next time maybe if they pay attention to guests instead of games on their phones it would run better.

Extremely upset with the management. We paid for a week and told them we might stay for a month. At the end of the week, we called over to extend our stay and they told us 'NO you have to leave, we are overbooked'. Then a manager told us we had to get out in an hour when we had been there for a week with groceries and all to pack up. We were told on move in they were going to fix the running toilet - a week later they had not done it. We asked for dishes they brought them with no silverware. If you want toilet paper or towels you have to go to the front desk to get it! There was a roach in the bathroom. When we checked in the box springs on one of the beds was broken and leaning on the floor. No one noticed that. I don't think so - no one cares!!!!!

First and foremost, my husband and I walked up to the front desk and two other guest that were already checked in were going back and forth waiting to talk to someone. There also was a note that stated they would be back shortly. If an emergency to go dial 7 on the phone and someone would be with us shortly. It was 45 minutes and I was so tired. So I dialed 7. When the lady answered the phone it literally sounded like she was in her living room watching TV. And sure of it. I hear a slam of a door behind us in the hallways of rooms and the front desk clerk in front of me. That is the ONLY time in my two days did we see ONE person at the front desk. Ever.
Also our first night...there was 2-4 men sitting in front of the office all the way into the early morning of the night drinking being loud and just plain loitering outside from day when I checked in (4 pm) to about (2 am) when they finally left. I woke up the next morning to yet again. The same old biker unprofessional grown men with their 6 packs and cigarettes in front of the main doors of extended stay in Las Vegas on Maryland across from the hospital my grandma dying was currently at. About 4 pm came around again and still out there, I called the front and asked why they were allowing such. I had not got sleep. I felt extremely uncomfortable and my window was right where they were throwing their party.
We have smoking rooms, it was easy for me to book a smoking room. With that in mind the front desk clerk said this guys have been here a while and don't have a smoking room. The clerk literally was making exceptions and excuses for the men that were loitering publicly getting intoxicated and were making me a 23 year old attractive young lady very very uncomfortable especially with them two arms reach outside my window. God knows alcohol can cause people to be irrational and I felt so unsafe and felt no one cared. I woke up in the morning to get to fresh air and no men were out there at 7 am. Only to get to enjoy the site off their leftover. Take a look at the pictures. I doubt the corporate office will call me back and I doubt anyone will read this. But I hope this place gets under new management because this place is a dump!!!

I arrives at 1:30 pm to check in. Misty ** was manning the front desk. She was on her cell phone and was distracted and obviously very upset... When I walked in the door she had a extremely hostile attitude. (My guess it was about her personal activities not related to the job she was getting paid to do.) She snapped at me and with an angry red face she told me and I quote "we are not doing early check in today." I explained that I had been traveling and really needed to check in early to my room. She told me "absolutely Not! " I said "that's odd I stay at your properties all the time as I travel for business, could you please see what you can do?" The response "NO!"
I am beyond disgusting with the absolutely deplorable behavior put forth by someone you felt qualified for a managerial position. Bad choice on ESA's part. I am a business owner (of 3 to be exact) and I think that Misty ** lacks the interpersonal relationship skills needed to have a manager's position. I have stayed at Extended Stay numerous times for weeks at a time. Never has there been an issue. The housekeeper always found the pile of linens and my room cleaned upon leaving as well as not having any guests over. Therefore you can believe why I was shocked when I went to check in on Jan.9,2015 that the Hotel Clerk of Extended Stay in Roseville, Ca refused to rent to me, humiliated me in front of other guests stating that on Sept.15, 2014 I rented a room and thrashed it, got in a fight with my boyfriend and did not follow pet policy.
First off my aunt died that day and I know where I was and it was not at Extended stay. This was confirmed by one of Extended Stay Customer Service reps who informed me that Extended Stay was at fault and they had mistaken me with another woman my name who rented a room half way across the country in Georgia. Now you would think that I would receive a call back as promised within 48 hours to resolve this. It has now been over a week. I have spent many hours on hold have been promised to get a call back and have yet to receive one. Not only that, the hotel rep from the location that I had been refused went into the system and closed my complaint without so much a call as to why and how he had the authority to do just that.
I am very disappointed in their total disregard to me and my valuable time. Never will I recommend anyone to Extended Stay. In fact it is my mission now to inform consumers of what they have to look forward to when staying at Extended Stay America.

This happened yesterday 1/7/2015. I work for a large well known medical facility in Durham, NC and was in the area for business. I only needed a room for one night. So I tried to find the cheapest, but cleanest hotel I could find. So I booked a room at the Extended Stay America @ 3105 Tower Blvd. Durham, NC, 27727. I didn't really care about or need all the amenities (kitchen, continental breakfast, fridge, ironing board, cable TV, etc.). I just wanted a CLEAN room with a decent bed, to crash for one night. Apparently that's too much to ask for, in exchange for my 70 dollars.
The first thing I usually do when I check into a hotel, regardless of how much I pay, is to remove the top comforter on the bed and throw it in the corner of the room. Everyone knows that these rarely get washed and you would not want to examine it CSI style. So, I pull off the top cover and start to examine the sheets and the pillows. First thing I noticed was that the sheets and pillow cases were very wrinkled and smelled like they had not been washed in some time. Gross! But that's not the worst of it. I flipped over the pillow and found (drum roll) a dried BLOOD STAIN! Absolutely revolting and unacceptable. Then, I went to use the facilities and noticed stains on the supposedly fresh towels. So I called down to the front desk to explain the situation.
The front desk clerk told me I was welcome to bring the sheets and linens down to the front desk and she would be willing to swap them out for some "new" ones. So that meant I would have to walk all the way back down to the front desk, dragging sheets and pillow case and then come back and still have to make my bed. I was so irritated that I just hung up on her. I was tired and just wanted to get some sleep, so I decided I was going to make the best of it. So I stripped the remainder of the bedding. Luckily, I had an emergency blanket in the trunk of my car and made the bed up the best I could. Unfortunately, I did not have an emergency pillow in my trunk. So I balled up my jacket and used that as a makeshift pillow. So needless to say, I got a GREAT night sleep and will never stay there again. I'm curious to see if they even care about this review. I really don't expect a response.

Major Blvd Orlando FL Universal - Checked in with my 6 and 8 year old grand children on the 30th. The room (132) was flooded from the kitchen. Went back to front desk. Was put in room 331, where it was hotter than blazes. Turned AC on. Woke up 50 times at night because the AC was not cold and it was so hot in the room... Called the front desk first thing in the morning. They sent up a non english speaking person who pushed buttons and said AC OK.
Went to take a shower... toothpaste all over the floor, wiped it up, the wash cloth was black , looked in the tub, it had more hair in it than a balding man. Cleaned the tub and the floor so I could take a shower. Then my grandson got sick and started throwing up on the 31st, the temperature in the room was horrible. My son (who had sense to stay at another hotel, got it to cool down but the AC kept getting hotter and hotter, and the room started smelling like urine. It was horrible and how on earth this hotel earned an excellence award from Expedia, I will never know.
I checked out on the 1st as soon as I could find somewhere else to go. Then I questioned why my confirmation was $593 and they were charging $668. and I wanted a refund because I had to check out 3 days early because the horrible conditions. As my 6 year old grandson was so sick I had to get him some place clean and cool, I ask them to hurry up, Heather said she would do all the credits to the card, but they have no idea of what price you are booked for unless the guest questions the cost. Then they get a fax from corporate of what you are supposed to be paying, so if you don't ask you will not get your reservation price.
I have traveled many miles for my employer in the past 20 years as well as personal travel and I have NEVER had such a horrible experience as I did in this hotel. I hope the people behind me in line ran as fast as they could... It was filthy, and so hot, germs could breed like crazy. I have no doubt my grandson got sick from that room... I suggest that my company removed this place from their approved list of hotels. Poor Heather tried to do her job but she can't control the operations of the hotel as she is only a front desk clerk. I felt sorry for her. I don't even have a receipt of what will be billed to my account...

I used my credit debit card for some friends to stay at an Extended Stay America. I checked them in and was asked for my card and since I had already paid on a hotel dot-com website I asked why do they need to see my card. The lady explained to me it was for incidental charges that may incur. I said what incidental charges could occur. She explained to me it was for any damages to the room. I thought okay they're not throwing any wild parties, shouldn't be a problem. They were in a non smoking room and the rules and regulations stated that if you are caught smoking you may be evicted. Nobody caught them in the act of smoking but when they checked out of that room they check back into another room. So far not a problem. Later on that evening they were called by the general manager in their new room. And was told there would be an incidental charge because they found ashes on the floor.
Two days later, hey $257 incidental charge was taken out my bank account. It was ashes on the floor, no permanent damage to the room and they're going to charge me $257 because they had to run the vacuum cleaner over a couple more times. It said nothing in the rules that you would be charged $257 if caught smoking in the room. I could see if there were burn marks maybe but ashes. Tried to get a hold of corporate, nobody calls me back. Try to call and talk to a different manager, they're always busy. Not to mention for the second stay they wouldn't charge me $3.50, I would have accepted that for incidental charge for finding ashes on the floor but now I have no idea what that charge is for and I cannot get anybody on the phone to give me an answer. Their hotels are dirty, bug infested and loud anyway so I would not suggest staying there.

We had this place reserved for 3 weeks based on their advertised facilities. My husband had stayed at other Extended Stays and was very satisfied. We drove 4 hours for a next day class. I liked the location and outside appearance when we drove up. The front desk was unknowledgeable and unhelpful. When arriving at the room, it smelled horrid. It is supposed to be a fully equipped kitchen. There was a microwave and fridge, no utensils, only 2 hard wooden chairs at a bar, no other chairs or table (remember this is an extended stay place). The carpet was completely stained and stinky, the cost base was $68.00 a night, plus $50.00 pet fee, and it was VERY small. There was no way we could stay in this room.
When going to complain, no other room was offered. We had to cancel, and sit in a parking lot trying to find a place to stay when we were exhausted. I tried to call guest relations and held for 30 minutes before giving up. Tried again today and held for 10 minutes. This particular hotel is in Dallas on Carnaby St. Don't go here! I consider this false advertising. We ended up at La Quinta with no pet fee, a much bigger and immaculate room with only a slightly higher nightly rate that ended up being cheaper because of the no pet fee. Much safer and closer to where we needed to be.

I stayed at an extended stay for 3 weeks, booked online and did not find out until 3 days into my stay when I got an alert on my credit card that I was charged for my whole stay. After contacting the manager I was informed that its company policy to not only take payment ahead of time every Monday from guests, but that any discounts you agreed to when booking the room don't get applied until you check out. I have NEVER heard of such a thing, and this has caused a major hardship on me financially and hurt my credit situation. I was never told this at check in, given a receipt saying my card was AUTHORIZED and I never agreed to be charged on the card given. Each week on Monday my card was charged for that week that hadn't come yet and FULL cost without the discount I booked with. One charge over 500, one charge over 600, and one charge over 700.
Nobody could tell me why the amounts were different. In the end, it was the best thing for my situation to put the stay on that card. When it came to me finally finding a place to live, I inquired about leaving one day early, I was told if I did, my last week would revert to the daily rate of over 100 a night. So if someone is paying cash for their room, they are expected to pay up the full week, full cost, then when they check out, they get a refund???? Absolute scam. Considering the condition of the room, these requirements are ridiculous. If they must have these policies, then this should be very clear before booking a room and all front desk staff should be properly trained in order to relay this information. I even called the night before and the same day of our arrival to make sure they still had our room and it was prepared for our arrival. They reassured us they would take care of us. We needed a wheelchair accessible room. However, all of their available wheelchair accessible rooms were filthy. The night person, Tamika, did an excellent job and put us in a non-wheelchair accessible room for the night. She prepared a wheelchair accessible room for us. We moved into a clean wheelchair accessible room the next day.
The next morning, the front desk promised us a free night for the inconvenience. On the sixth day, I went to the front desk and asked if they had given us our free night on our account. The hadn't given us a free night yet. So at the point, they stated they credited our account for a free night. So we were all set to stay for 8 days instead of 7. Note: the front desk person, **, never asked me if we were staying another week or if we wanted to extend our stay. At this point we're thinking every thing is great and we will stay an extra night, then extend another week on day 8. On day 7 we woke up and were preparing for the day. We were excited to start our day, because it was our 4th month of being married. As we were preparing for our day, there was a very loud banging on our door. It was ** from the front desk yelling at us. She was yelling for us to leave immediately.
She went further to tell us if we didn't open the door right away she would call the police. We were looking at each other thinking "what in the world is going on?". There was no problem, but there's ** banging on our door, yelling at us, threatening us with the police. We did nothing to deserve being treated like this. I told her through the door we were not dressed yet and we weren't prepared to open the door. She took that as a threat and threatened us again, that she's call the police if we didn't open the door immediately and leave. So I opened the door even though I'm only wearing my boxers. Upon opening the door, I saw 2 little girls employed to clean the rooms across the hall. They were like 8 to 10 yrs old. They were standing there staring at me in my boxers as ** was enraged and yelling at us to get out and leave the property immediately.
I tried to tell her we were staying until we found an apartment, but she just kept telling us to leave NOW!!!! or else she will call the police. We could not believe what was happening and that we were being treated like animals totally unprovoked. So of course we wanted to get to the bottom of this and get the issue straightened out. So we got dressed and went to the front desk to talk to the manager. We got to the front desk and ** continued to speak to me very nasty so I raised my voice to her demanding to speak to her manager. She became absolutely enraged and yelled at me telling me to not speak to her like that and she is going to call the police right now. She had her manager on the phone at that time and refused to let me speak with her. We waited for the police and ** made up some elaborate story about us. Total liar!
We tried to tell the police how she treated us and created this entire situation all by herself. They didn't listen to us at all. So we packed up and left and we'll NEVER return to any Extended Stay. Our civil and human rights were violated. What is our country coming to if businesses can treat people like this and get away with it. We went to a much better hotel and spent a little more for a much higher quality service where we are serviced as high paying customers and not humiliated and demeaned in "Ghetto Stay America".
I recommend to everyone, to NEVER stay at any Extended Stay America...it's not worth the hassle. You can find much better for just a few dollars more. In closing, we never got a receipt, we weren't given an option to stay, it wasn't our choice they just kicked us out, we never received any notice that we need to renew our week and we never received our free night as promised.

Our stay at extended stay america Irmo SC - Not good from the get go. Day one - booked the room at one price. Informed them of my dog during booking. After driving 5 hours to get here, we check in. The cost was more than expected. Ok, paid it. The room is what to be expected for a smoking, pet friendly room. Carpets could be cleaner. We were not informed on the construction that is being done nor were informed the pool is closed till further notice... during Labor Day weekend?? Really?? & this is just day one.
Now for all pet friendly motels, believe me, I'm grateful you allow for us to bring not just our dog, but our 4 legged son, but what I do not find to be fair is the $25.00 per day pet fee for clean up, cuz I clean up after our dog. I think there should be a deposit for our pets, & if & only if he destroys anything, the consumers should be charged. The good pet owner should not have to be punished, for the not so good pet owners.. Just a thought there!!! What you can do by law & what you should do for your guests is two different things. Js, now I'm sure I will be back cause like I said this is only day one & we have a week here!!! & the advertised FREE WiFi don't seem to work either.

So I've been here at Extended Stay America in Seattle Washington on Lynwood. Haven't had hot water for two days, my room has bedbugs and fleas, my kitchen sink leaks all over. Talked to management and they told us we have to deal with it for one night and now it's going on 3 nights. Management said she would do a work order and she never called or contacted us to tell us any information. All the front desk says is "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" but not one time did they ask what they could do to make it more easy for us. I'm a maintenance technician for an apartment complex in California so I know customer service and for management to say you have to deal with it is unacceptable. Not one time has the new manager called to ask us how we are, but the manager is at home with a kitchen sink that works and a bedbug-free bed. If this is how extended America trains their management then you guys don't know about customer service.

We tried to look over it because we didn't want anything to ruin our wedding anniversary. The ultimate horrible thing happened about 5:30 in the morning when my husband was awakened by a big black bug crawling on him in the bed. That did it! I called guest relations and complained because I couldn't get anyone at the front desk. We packed our bags and we left immediately. Our wedding anniversary was ruined and we wasted our money. We checked in today for 1 night, and were put on the second floor. The person staying down the hall decided to slam his door forcefully multiple times in a row. He then proceeded to bang on the walls several times and laughed about it on the way out. I went and politely asked him to stop as it was 9pm. He said the manager is a friend and lets him do whatever he wants. That was confirmed when I called down and the front desk 'person' was rude and didn't care. Said they would look into it, but didn't seem in rush to do anything. DO NOT STAY HERE. Terrible customer service. Manager should be fired.

I stayed at Extended Stay America on Stanford blvd in Columbia, MD 21045 location (first) and I never had a complaint about anything at all, even though the staff were rude, 2 of the women in particular. They were always grumpy towards me about something. I don't think that they like their job there. They do not deserve their jobs there. It always smelled of marijuana from one end to the other. But anyway I still stayed there and after I stayed at that location for 68 days, (2 months and 8 days) with my little 5 year old boy and his mother, we moved to another Extended Stay America located a mile away on Eli Whitney drive in Columbia, MD 21046 for 36 days (6 weeks). After that stay, we went on to a 3rd (third) Extended Stay America in Columbia/Laurel/Ft.Meade for just about 10 days because of the smoke and the fact that I have a 5 year old son and his mother does not smoke and cannot stand to be around smoke. We moved from that location because they gave us a smoking room on the smoking floor and they had no non-smoking rooms on the non-smoking floor available to us at all. That was the last stay at Extended Stay America until I booked a room from June 29th 2014 to July 20th twice.
The first time the reservation was cancelled and I thought it was a problem with the debit card. So I lost 922 dollars. (Nine hundred and twenty two dollars). The second time I made the same reservation again with a different debit card and I called the Extended Stay America to ask them what kind of room that I would be getting and I told them my name and they proceeded to tell me it was cancelled. I told them yeah it was cancelled due to a debit card problem but I had made a second reservation. They then told me that it (second reservation) would be cancelled as well. I asked why and they told me because of cigarette smoke in the room and I told them that I DID not smoke in the room because of my boy and my wife that does not smoke. She would not stay in a room filled with smoke with or without my kid in it. I told them that it was absurd and had me mixed up with someone else.
It was 4 months later after my first stay with them. I was always nice and courteous with the employees there, I even helped them shovel snow on the side walks in the winter. Also I helped the lady put out coffee when she was too busy on the phone. I made sure that I would be able to stay there again with no problem because it was in a very good location for me and also the price was also affordable. I lost $922.00 dollars and treated with disrespect. As for the second reservation I lost $820.00 dollars. I would really like to get a hold of corporate and settle this dispute. I am letting people know that you should not stay at Extended Stay America at all because of this.

I was allowed to work remotely for an educational institution and moved to the Sacramento area to be closer to my ill father. I drove across the country with my two cats, staying nightly in hotels for the duration. My jewelry box went safely with me the entire time. Inside was my engagement/wedding rings which didn't fit at the time, and my deceased grandmother's jewelry, including a ring I was given at age 18.
I arrived at ESHA White Rock Road and immediately things were bad. The people above me were so loud, I could only guess that they were doing aerobics in their room. It literally sounded like people were jumping up and down… non-stop. I soon noticed a man with a young child entering the room, so didn't complain. Kids will be kids.
When I received the "please review us" email from the manager, I mentioned that it was very loud. They responded by telling me they would move me. I said fine, but I would like to wait for a room on the top floor, to avoid the same problem. They moved me right next to the loud people. I responded by telling them it was not a good idea, but then they sent me another email saying the room was ready. The noise was getting really bad so I figured it would be better to be next to them rather than remain below. When I made it up there and had just about finished moving, they were moving out! Apparently the manager, **, didn't put this together. Oh well, I was there. The room was housing about 10 people, adults and children, saw it with my own eyes. I noticed that the room went unused for days because these people had wrecked it. The stench could be smelled just walking by as the housekeepers cleaned it. This is not an exaggeration.
Flash forward a day or so, I was awakened by a hotel-wide fire alarm on Wednesday, September 4th, about 6am. It went on for ten minutes and I started to get nervous. My cats were starting to react badly to the noise so I thought it was time to load them in their carriers and take them to the parking lot. They were both frightened and hiding under the bed, so it was rather chaotic. Meanwhile I tried to call the front desk, as the room emergency instructions ask you to do, but nobody answered. So I began the panicked process of getting my cats down the three flights of stairs.
The next day, the housekeeper came (first housekeeper visit). I stayed while she worked because I don't trust anyone with my animals. She’s a nice girl and I give her a tip when she left. Later, I'm going out to meet a relative so go to put jewelry on. The box is gone. Panic ensues, and I tear the room apart looking for it. I call the front desk. Clerk tells me he can do nothing and to talk to the manager, **, in the morning.
I don't sleep at all that night, so am at ** office about 6am, if not earlier. I tell her what happened and she literally rolled her eyes at me. She immediately tells me her staff doesn't steal. Well, I never said nor implied that they did, because they were never in my room alone to my knowledge. While it is highly improbable that I left the box in the first room, because I am 100% certain that I saw the box in my new room, I ask her to contact the people who were now occupying my previous room. I never lost my cool or raised my voice. I was exhausted so that wasn't actually possible. She said, "Yeah, I'll do it later". Didn't sound too convincing. She offered no sort of "I'm sorry you are experiencing this"... she offered NOTHING. NADA. ZIP. No sort of help.
I realized that I had worn a pair of earrings from the box and understood now that the box was stolen during the FIRE ALARM while we all waited like idiots, for over an hour, in the hotel parking lot. In hauling out the cat carriers, and all the chaos, the door must have not closed properly. When I called the corporate offices later, "Justin" asked me if the manager had filed an "incident report". I told her that **, in fact, did nothing. He said this was wrong. He called her while I was still on the phone. When I returned to the hotel and told her I was there to pick up the incident report, I asked her "Don't you think you should have done this earlier? Or perhaps let me know there would be steps to address this situation?" Her response was "Oh yeah I did it". Sure you did... because I went over your head.
Following this, I made a police report with the Rancho Cordova Police Department. The woman was nice. She got some of the facts wrong, but was very sympathetic. She emailed the report to me very quickly. In the end, the "customer relations", higher-ups at Extended Stay Hotels of America, located in Charlotte, North Carolina, did absolutely nothing to assist me. Same with AIG Insurance, Portland, Oregon. "Investigation" included 1 phone call. Avoid the entire chain at all costs.

I would have left the window open but it's summer in Sacramento so that means hot air would go in the room as well. Ended up getting clammy, dizzy during the night due to AC. And the technician came morning and confirmed what I already knew. That the AC was broken and needed Freon. So he took another AC from another room and switched it to mine. I also went to the manager in the morning and she said I can put in a incident report or I can check out if I want. I wasn't there to check out. I live 3 hours away and clearly I've got things planned already for the day. All I want is my money back for the one day of super inconvenience. I did my part in paying the complete total price so that would mean I should get what I paid for. I didn't give them any quarter less than the agreed upon price, so I should get what we agreed upon. And since I didn't, I'd like my reimbursement for one night. I ended up throwing up and getting dizzy and clammy due to this.

We placed an employee at the facility in October of 2013 at a rate of $24.99/night. It then went up to $27.99/night in January of 2014 then up to $34.99 in April of 2014. We made several attempts between March 27-April 24th to discuss these routine and excessive increases and to see if there was a way to get a better rate. The corporate office said the onsite manager could make the decision. Onsite said she has no control... We went back and forth leaving numerous messages. Each time we would leave a message for corporate who supposedly sent an email to the proper party and told we would get a call back. We NEVER got a call back, from ANYONE we had to continue to make the effort to reach out in an effort to resolve this matter.
The onsite manager told us that if it were up to her she would keep us since our employee was very quiet and never caused any problem. We feel like an increase of over 35% in a matter of 5 months is excessive and deserved an explanation. Instead of getting a call back we got the run around. On 4/14/14, the hotel processed an unauthorized charge on our company card in the amount of $1019.70. This was at the rate of $34.99/night that we did not agree to and were still waiting to discuss. After numerous phone calls, usually waiting on hold for 15+ minutes, we finally got demanding on 4/24, insisting that we get this matter resolved that day as they had processed an unauthorized charge and we would be filing charges.
Our employee advised us that for a several days he would return home to discover that they had locked him out of his room, forcing him to go downstairs so that they could bully him into getting us to sign a credit card authorization form. This was likely because corporate was breathing down their throats to fix their mess. We did not understand why they needed an authorization since they TOOK the money they felt they deserved without authorization.
Finally we got a call back from Andrew ** (a regional manager of sorts) who was unwilling to negotiate with us on the nightly rate. Even though we told him that our employee would be returning in the fall and would be there for 8 months each year over the next 4-6 years. The facility processed a full refund of the unauthorized amount on 4/24/14. Since they had been completely unreasonable and due to their lack of customer service skills, we decided to move our employee out and into a $40/night hotel.
I asked Mr. ** for a bill for the unpaid time spent at his facility. We told Mr. ** we would submit a check since we did not trust them with our credit card. Mr. ** wanted a new credit card authorization signed and was unwilling to accept our payment by check. He abruptly told us he would move us out in the system and send our balance to collections and hung up. Please note that on 4/24 our employee advised us that someone from the hotel came up to his room to have him sign his registration form. Something they apparently forgot to have signed when he moved in, they were likely covering their tracks.
Our employee also advised us that he had not received maid service the entire time he was there. After all this occurred we checked the web and discovered several unhappy customers with customer service complaints. Another fact... you can get quick service when calling for a reservation but current customers must wait forever for any type of service. You also can’t get a receipt for your stay.

So we asked if they could give us a little more time to get our stuff out of the room, since we were still at work and don't get off until 5:00pm.
They said that was fine, but we needed to get it out as soon as possible. So we had to find another place to stay in the mean time and pack our belongings at the same time. We found a place and packed our belongings, but forgot some of our unopened frozen food, which was over $150 dollars worth of food. We called the hotel back not even an hour after we moved out to tell them what we had forgotten, and they informed us that they had thrown it in the garbage already!!! We were furious and upset that something like this could happen to anyone especially after staying their for 2 weeks.
The other thing was that, we forgot a Native American Necklace hanging on the lamp, which was a sentimental item from my moms funeral. They also stated that they didn't find anything like that in the room either!!! Hmmm, which makes me to believe that the cleaning people have no respect if people forget some personal items in the rooms!!! Extended Stay Nashville, TN. I was told I could check in at 3 p.m. or after. I arrived around 6. Oh, I first stopped at the wrong ES, the desk clerk, said hello but didn't smile. I told her my name and that I'm checking in. She took a deep breath, said, "I can't find you, what property did you book with?" I told her the address, she points up and toward the door and says, "Across the road." I apologized for my mistake and thanked her for her time. I go "across the road".
The younger male at the desk had an earpiece in, talking on his cell. He told the person, "I've gotta go," but continued for 15 to 30 seconds. He apologized. I told him my name and that I'm checking in. "Oh, that room's not clean," he glances at his clipboard and says, "Yes it is, I just didn't write it down." Maybe he was new, and we've all been there, but he seemed very scatter brained, and inexperienced. He was friendly, very cute, with a nice smile... but I digress. Checked in.
I'm on the 3rd floor. No elevator. Fine, I could use the exercise. Climb the steps...open the 3rd floor door. The first thing I noticed, was the odor. It wasn't overpowering, but to me it smells like the carpets have been cleaned but not dried properly. The carpet is horribly dated. For some reason, all I could think of was the movie The Shining as I'm walking the hall. Get to my room. At first glance, its dated, but has potential, the carpet has stains. I sit to rest for a moment. Unload my things. Go out for a bite to eat. Come back, time to settle in. I unpack things, I noticed there are a few dishes but no pots or pans.
The cover over the stove is dirty. Not dust, actual particles of something. The bathroom counters and tub are very dull. Maybe they have used an abrasive cleaner over the years. No big deal. The tub soap dish had a 1/2 long black hair on it. The mirror has probably a 10 inch hair swirled around and dried on it. The inside of the medicine cabinet has several dried hairs. I've been itching since I've been here, but I'm not seeing bites. I'm hoping its just my nerves because I just pissed away $935 for a month stay.
I called the 800 #, and asked could I get a refund, minus one night of course, was put on hold, and he returned saying no, I was obligated to a 60-night stay under the extended stay plus. I am so disappointed. I used most of my tax refund to move to Nashville for school. And since all utilities are included, this seemed perfect until I get a job and can save a little for deposits, etc. I am checking out tomorrow. I don't want another room. I wanna go home. And let me just add, I'm not a pampered princess that expected 5 star treatment. What I expect from you, is to take pride in your facility. Hey, use my $935 and get the carpets cleaned properly.

I had a friend come down and stay with the Extended Stay America 3 years ago. The general manager was uptight and taking advantage of her title. She was calling and knocking at my friend's room for every detail and then when I came in to pay for the room, she said I had to be a registered guest and that she's had many people there that were not registered guest which I know was a lie. My friend knew no one other than me in Las Vegas and besides that, it's your room and as a grown adult, you could not have guests. So when I tried to pay the lady, she started to escalate the situation and started arguing with me so I got so pissed off. Now my guest's privacy had been violated and now she's making it an issue to pay for the room so I didn't need her service and would take my guest somewhere else so used some words that shouldn't have been used.
3 years later, I was between houses and needed to stay for a week. Come to find out the same manager works for another location. Calls me with 3 days left in my week and says she remembers me and I need to leave their property and won't be getting any of my money refunded. So I asked her, "You're going to kick me and my 7-year-old out," and she says, "Yes, that is what I'm informing you." So I come back to the room, my key is not working. Of course, head to the office at 2:30 pm. I walk in and say, "My key is not working. Can you fix it so I can get my ** and get out?" She says, "Excuse me, do you want me to call the cops?" And I said, "Call the cops for what," and she says for having an attitude and I say, "Oh yes, coz people get arrested for having an attitude."
So she calls the cops. /it is now 4:30. I'm still waiting. There's nothing like waiting around on the property to get trust past off that same property, lmao. Never once have I threatened or raised my voice to this woman and what happened to America where the customer is always right? It's your job as a general manger to defuse the situation and make the guest at this chain of hotels to feel welcome and want to be a returning guest. No, she argued and made me more angry, refused my money. If I would have known the second hotel was a part of this chain, I would have never stayed here in the first place.

Paid $100 (cash) deposit and $200 (cash) room rental. They refuse to return the deposit based on that the bill currently states that they said that since I "paid cash for the room and I was not entitled to a return of my cash deposit". They made another printout stating that the rate for the room was adjusted to absorb my $100 deposit amount. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!!!! I rented a room from them a week prior and they returned my deposit then?! Me and my girlfriend even got the rate locked for four days prior to even agreeing to get the room. There was two associates present and an evening manager. I feel like I got ripped off by your establishment and I am in complete utter dismay. I want my money returned to me immediately!!

My wife and I have been living in the Extended Stay Hotel in Westmont, Illinois location for about 1 1/2 years. My previous review was an honest review at the time. To date, my review has had over 1,000 readers. The sad part is I'm sure a lot of people trusted my review and had bad experiences. For that I am truly sorry. However, some very discouraging things have happened since then. At first I thought I would just let it go. However, I feel that I have to be honest again.
When my wife and I first came to... Extended Stay America, at the time it was known as 'Homestead Suites' (same entity) we were paying $44.99 per night after the first thirty days. Over the next 18 months, they have continued to increase our rates to $74.99 per night. My rate has increased by 60% ($910.00) per month over that time. I was paying $1,364.59 per month. Now I am paying $2,274.52 per month. My opinion is they want the extended stay families out. To date I have paid over $30,000 in rent. Now the truth about this hotel. You should read the other reviews.
The following are 100% facts...The pictures that you see online are not the true pictures of the foyer or laundry room here. Far from it. When you first come into the hotel it's nice and clean and smells great because of the air-fresheners everywhere. When you walk to your room, the smells in the halls are horrible. Picture this... They have 140 rooms here. A desk clerk told me that they have between a 70-75% occupancy. They all have kitchens which I thought was great at the time and still do. The occupants here represent the League of Nations. Now, when you get people from every walk of life...Indian, Korean, Egyptian, Mexican, Polish, Pakistani etc. cooking throughout the day, you get one indescribable smell in the halls. Desk clerks have told me that people came in to inspect the place before checking in then commented on the stench and walked out. The cooking stench that is.
You do not open your door or go out in the evening hours without holding your nose. Your daily rate includes maid service, which you pay for; you only get service once a week. If you want clean sheets or towels, you have to go to the front desk and pick them up if they have clean ones and change them yourself. You might have to wait until they do laundry during the night. They never have enough quarters for the do-it-yourself laundry room. I have seen people begging for quarters to dry what they have already washed. One creative desk clerk found a great remedy...It's called beat the soda pop machine. You see, they don't have a coin changer like other laundry rooms. The clerk told me they are only allowed to have $100 in quarters on hand at any given time. Since they have an 80% occupancy rate that means over 100 rooms are full. Let's say only 50 families like to wear clean clothes. That means they have $2 in quarters for each of the 50 families to do laundry. It cost $2 to wash one load and $2 to dry that load. Therefore, you can wash one load one day and dry it the next. God forbid you have more than one load. You'll have to stay at least a week just to finish your laundry.
Let's get back to beat the soda pop machine. You put your dollar in the soda pop machine, but before you make your selection, you push the coin return to cancel your purchase and you get quarters back because the machine can't return dollar bills. Picture your mother down there trying to figure this out. The following is a huge issue. Something we all take for granted, but not here...TOILET PAPER. I have been down at the front desk at night listening to people begging for toilet paper. "NO TOILET PAPER," they were told. I personally have experienced that myself. It was very upsetting because my wife is disabled. At least the washcloths came in handy. Therefore, I buy my own. Unsuspecting new guests are petrified. I was once told that they order 6 cases of toilet paper and that the guests are using too much, that should last them. If you are here for a few days, you're always at the front desk asking for toilet paper not to mention there's never any facial tissue. Forget about dishrags, always out.
They have what they call "DELUXE ROOMS". They're pretty nice. It has one king bed and a sofa bed. At one point, I was paying more for a non-deluxe room until I made a big fuss. It seems they charge you whatever they can get away with. Don't show, don't tell. We have satellite TV with a handful of channels. It's great for a one-night stay. Handful means about 15-20 channels of which most you can't watch unless you want to cook with Alice or watch some full porn, which since you don't have to pay for it, it pops up when you are channel surfing. Keep an eye on your children.
When there's a cloud cover or some rain, the satellite is out. Now the internet. They do provide basic internet. It has a download speed of .75 Meg and an upload speed of .37 Meg. If you don't mind taking a lunch break while you're downloading something, it's fine. Forget about watching streaming video. However, you can increase your speed to less than 2 Megs for $30. After you have spent between $65 and $75 a night for your stay there's one more slap in the face. If I didn't inquire I wouldn't have known either. A guest told me and I verified it with the front desk.
Anyone can go online and get a room for $30 per night for up to 3 weeks. I believe they told me "PRICELINE.COM." They will not inform you of this. They would rather have your $75. If you don't mind everything, above then it's a deal at $30 a night.
Here's the biggest problem besides no toilet paper... You have to run outside summer or winter in your underwear. I again have had firsthand experience with this. With 70% of 140 rooms cooking, someone inadvertently burns something on the stove. It's not bad if they keep the smoke and fumes in their room. However, not knowing any better, they open their doors to vent the room of smoke. That's where the problem lies, when the little bit of smoke, and I mean little bit, hits the hallway, the whole hotel goes up for grabs anytime of the day or night. It's called a building alarm, everyone out now. The only ones able to shut the building alarm off, and it is ear shattering, are the fire department personnel. However, before they shut it off, which could be up to a half hour they have to inspect the whole hotel for safety. One more thing, your bill. If you are here for an extended stay the bills never match. At least mine doesn't. I have 3 printed bills dated the exact same day, hours apart; no two are alike. When I have questioned it in the past the answer is always the same, "It can't be".
Again, my apologies to the 1,000 plus readers who read my previous review. I wrote it with good intentions.

Me and my family have been going through the most openly racist treatment at the Extended Stay America in Madison Heights that I have ever faced before in my life. We haven't been in a clean room since we checked in Dec 2012. I have asthma, my husband has heart failure and I have our 8 year old daughter. We were placed in a room with mold (I have pictures of everything), it was over the shower and the bathroom fan did not work (we been in 3 different room and all the fans are broke in the bathrooms). The district manager Michelle (racist # 1) first words out of here mouth was "I heard you found out what was done for another guest as to say not for you (a guest called the former manager a ** and ** and received a full refund and got free days to boot) so she sent a mold claim in to AIG.
The next event was a verification of shelter form that needed to be signed by the manager. I gave the manager Jim (racist #2 and Michelle's family member) the form Friday at 9:30 am and I let him know it had to be returned Monday morning. The form consist of manager's name, rent paid, and verification, three or four lines. 4pm Friday my husband goes to get the form from Jim and informed that the district manager Michelle had taken it and left for the weekend. We immediately called corporate and they talked to her and they said she would be in Monday at 10am with the form. Monday 12pm my husband goes to the front desk the get the signed form, again Jim tells him Michelle is not back with the form. We call corporate again, they call her she says "I'm around the block at the bank, I will be there in 20 minutes." 1pm still no Michelle, a employee says she at another property.
We call corporate again and the paper that she lies and tell them she has never took is magically fax to the hotel. The point Why did she take it at all? Jim is the manager, and they both said each other had it, our issuance and food almost got cut of because the racist ** woman has a problem with us and told that to her on more than one occasion. So much activity of race discrimination the staff black and white tell me they don't understand why we get treated so different. Next episode was a few days ago, we start itching and getting little bites. We go to the allergist because I now take allergy shot because of the condition of the room, the doctor tells us it looks like bedbugs. I tell a girl at the from desk and she says tell Jim, he had just giving the Muslim lady $100 in cash to wash her clothing and informed her that an exterminator would come out.
The next day I tell Jim what the doctor said and he tells me there are no bed bugs here. I told him, "I know you gave the lady money from the register for her clothes. What's the difference?" He said this conversation is over and went outside. We called a bedbug inspection agency called Rose Pest Solution to come check for bed bugs and was told by the person on the phone that they knew Jim, and other employees here because they have been here. He lied to my face about the bugs and the money. The wildest thing is about the original mold claim. Michelle put this claim in herself. On April 1st of this year we called an environmentalist check the mold, Michelle would not let him enter. April 2nd there was a paper under the done stating the management was doing preventative maintenance on all rooms. They never went into our room, but they did go into room 111 where the mold was.
We asked these managers on numerous occasion has the room been altered and both say no. I ask Jim Friday the 21st and he stated to my face, that no one but him and the handyman have been in there and everything is like we left it. We asked for a copy of the inspection from the insurance agency. It states the room was up to standards, but as we read on the picture shows debris from renovation. This people cleaned the room and the inspection shows this. How can you clean a room before it's tested? The racist never thought we would get the report, and when Jim found out we had it, him and the handyman went outside and started pacing and calling. I never came across people who don't know you that try to break you, these people are going to pay. Me and my family are going the be compensated for the mold, the cleaning of the uninvestigated room, and the racist differences made by these managers . We need to get this in order. My husband wants to sue everybody but I just want to be treated fair. Nothing has happened yet, I guess I'll have to take ESA to court.

I have been traveling as a Nurse for over a year. I've stayed in 3 or 4 Extended Stay America during that time. The ESA in CARLSBAD CA. Staff has been less than courteous since I got here. Two days ago, my left hand was caught in their only elevator. Since that day, I've learned the REAL ESA attitude. It is NOT about people........it's about $$$$$$$$. Example: My hand got caught in their elevator on a Sunday after 5pm. The desk clerk just stood there and stared at me while I was obviously in pain.
Since Sunday (two days ago), the staff and manager here have been AWFUL. So harsh. I resorted to contacting ESA Corporate "Customer Relations" in North Carolina. Don't waste your time if you ever have a problem. They only care about their bottom line. ESA needs competition.......maybe that will help them learn you can't treat people like DOGS.

On Thursday, July 18, 2013, at approximately 9pm I received a call from Area Operations Manager Rebecca **, Extended Stay America, in reference to the serious complaint of an act of racism committed by an employee at Extended Stay America, Lombard, IL, that as a result has caused me serious mental anguish. Ms. ** informed me that she had concluded her investigation of the incident, that the employee admitted committing this serious act of racism and as a result the employee was terminated. However, I believe that as a consumer being committed to the Extended Stay America brand, the highly sensitive nature of this employee actions and the damage caused, further resolution and remedy is needed.

On Thursday, July 18, 2013, at approximately 12:20pm while staying at Extended Stay America located at 2701 Technology Drive, Lombard, IL 60148, I experienced the following: At around 12:20pm I arrived at the front desk where employee ** was on duty. This individual processed my extended stay for 7 days. After signing the necessary documents for my extended stay, I then asked him for clean towels, face tissue and toilet paper. This employee provided the items I requested; however, he then stated, "We have baby monkeys, would you like one of those too?" Of course, myself being of African descent, I was very insulted by this employee's racist behavior. I immediately contacted hotel management, i.e. **, Area Manager and was simply told she would look into the matter. She also offered to relocate me to another Extended Stay America.
As of this writing this very serious issue of racism and possible civil rights violation has not been resolved. In taking into consideration that I have spent my consumer dollars in the past 12 months in the amount of over $15,000.00 with Extended Stay America, it is totally unacceptable to have an employee of Extended Stay America to behave as though we are still living in the Jim Crow Era of racism. Management has not attempted to reach out to me, and this employee is working the front desk as of this writing.

I asked how many times a week will my room be cleaned and I was told only one time a week. I asked if that’s the usual practice for a long stay client. I was told yes. And if I wanted the room cleaned more than that, I would have to pay for maid service. I asked, “Could you supply me with cleaning supply?” I was told no. I don't know how anyone can expect a person to live in a room and not expect it to stay cleaned for 6 days out of 7. And I asked if they expected a person to take baths in a dirty tub, have dirty dishes, dirty floors and trash baskets that need to be emptied and be a satisfied customer? I got no response. I will not stay in a room with smelly trash, therefore, it goes outside of my door. What do you recommend?

I feel that by making the reservation a month ahead that I should have been able to have had the room with the king size bed. Also, I needed to check out early on the 7th as I needed to be at my grandson's graduation at 7:30am. I went to the desk at 6:15 to check out and had a sign on counter that it was closed. I tried to find someone but couldn't. I tried to call and got no answer. Checkout was at 11:00am. After graduation, I had to go back to the motel to check out. It was 10:15am when I got there. I knew that I would be cutting it close, but I did make it back. Also, check-in was 3:00pm. I got there around 3:30pm and the clerk said that she didn't know what rooms were available and would have to wait for the manager to come and let her know. I finally got checked in at 4:00pm.

I booked Sunday-Sunday in Boca Raton, FL. My daughter and I came here from NC to look for a home. I had two "have-to's" when I did my search: a kitchen, and a pool for my daughter. And, of course, not a dump. We parked right next to an RR Track. I mean, it was 15 feet away. I thought...well, I'm sure our view on the other side will at least be looking at something else, like the pool. WRONG! When we walked into our room, we stopped cold. No marble counter, no nice bedding, no nice desk, no separate seating like the photos show in our "King Suite." And here's the best part: there was no OTHER view and NO POOL!!! My daughter's face said it all. I said, "Don't sit down! We are NOT staying in this dump!" We checked out and got reimbursed. Please read on...that was the GOOD part...
We hit the internet and looked for comparable-priced hotels. We found another called E. Stay (I know, I am a glutton for punishment) in Deerfield Beach. The only reason I did is because it said it was totally renovated and the gentleman, Francisco, assured me that the photos online were accurate at his hotel. We got there and he was kind enough to show us the room first. We were pleasantly surprised. Looked nice, although no separate area and no pool. My daughter had had enough, too. It was getting late. We went to the store and bought $100 of groceries, came back, put food away as well as put ALL of our things in the drawers and closet area and bathroom. It was a week's worth at least. We are ladies after all...
My daughter turned on the shower and I noticed a black hair on the counter. She got in the shower and my daughter said, "Eew " There was the same short black hairs. I told her to get out. We found hair on the floor. I told my daughter not to sit on the quilt (because they are not washed). When I pulled it back, there were a few of those hairs, and black pieces of something... Then there were the stains around the toilet rim. I'm posting photos below to look at.
Waking up at 4:15 am that morning and already unpacking everything, I just wanted to sleep. I called Fredrico and told him about the hairs...oh, at that point, I hadn't seen the toilet. Sorry. He informed me he was the only person there. THE ONLY PERSON THERE! I asked him to clarify. Yep...THE ONLY ONE THERE. I MEAN NO MAIDS, NO HANDYMAN, NO OTHER CLERK, NO GUARD. He really was the only one there, THE ONLY PERSON IN A 3-STORY EXTENDED-STAY HOTEL! He assured me he would be up ASAP with new sheets. He was very sweet and apologetic. Within five minutes, I called back and told him to bring a vacuum, toilet brush, and rags, as well. I said I would help him make bed because I felt bad for the guy being the only one there. He tried. He brought all that I asked. He profusely apologized and I told him to stop. It was not his fault. I WAS TIRED AND OVER IT! They had no clean fitted or the right size mattress cover. We made due.
Fredrico said housekeeping would come the next day for sure to clean. I told him they better, but I didn't want anyone in my room when I was not there. He called the room and assured me he put in an order with ALL my instructions, and I believe he did. I found out the next morning that our meat was brown and the milk was "cool", not cold. The fridge was on 2 1/2 of 5. So, I put it on 5. Before I left, I took a picture of both room counters to make sure no one came in. Got back later and found that my bed was changed, trash taken out, and there were more towels. I was ticked! I left my laptop, my daughter's iPad, jewelry, everything! Nothing was taken, though...that I know of, yet. I got in the shower and it was not squeaky clean. Like it had a film still. This was yesterday evening. I decided then that I was leaving today.
This morning, I went down to tell the desk I was checking out after I finished with the realtor. I asked if she was the only one there. She said (insert smart-ass defensiveness), "I am, until I hire someone." I thought, "I see you're still sitting on your ** drinking coffee after three hours! Maybe you should go down SW 10th and hire that oh-so-friendly lady at Dunkin' Doughnuts! She knows what customer service means and does it with a great attitude and smile!"
I told her about the food going bad and other things, and she coldly told me that she had heard about me and wanted to know why I didn't tell leave the first day or told her about the fridge. She said she could replace the fridge but I needed to be back before 4 pm so her guy could do it. I told her I was leaving and I wanted a FULL refund. She told me she would refund a night. I gritted my teeth and said, in the flattest tone I could muster, "You are the manager and I KNOW you're going to do the right thing here." I then pulled out my iPhone with the photos. I'm getting ready to post and flipped through them and said, (insert sarcasm) "I'm showing you these photos because I can tell just how important customer service is to you. And I know how hard it is to find good help so I know you would want to see these." Her response: "Oh." I was laughing inside, dreaming of punching her in the throat. But I'm a lady. LOL.
I told her I'd be down in 15 minutes to pick up my refund receipt. She said, "Okay." When I came back down to leave, guess who was standing there with a smile on his face, gladly training someone new and helping a guest check in, too? Yep, Fredrico! Guess who was around the corner (probably still sitting on her butt drinking coffee): the "manager". He went and asked you-know-who for my receipt, and he was the one that gave me my receipt and said goodbye with a sincere smile.:)
That was this morning. Before I went down to that lobby, I went on priceline.com and bid $60.00 on a 3-star hotel. I am now at The Wyndham Hotel, sitting in a fat room in a nice bed with clean sheets and 60 channels on TV, thick towels in my bathroom, heated pool, and, wait for it...at least five employees on the same shift. All over-accommodating professionals. Plus, they have bolster pillows that have "Be Well" embroidered on them... Ahhh...
P.S. The very kind gentleman Fredrico at E.S. was a true professional too. Went above and beyond. It is my opinion that it is HE, not the female manager with the accusatory snotty attitude, that should be the manager! Great job, Fredrico!!! Oh, the places you'll go.....Dr. Seuss.:)

The front desk people who are at the service keep repeating the same sentence that "It will be done today". Even at the end of 10th day, when I humbly raised the request of why it is never happening, again the front desk guy kept repeating the same sentence as said above for 4-5 times. The service totally sucks and the way the front desk guys behave is annoying and they didn't have the courtesy to say sorry. There are cockroaches in the building. We were told upon checking in that they had a BBQ grill at the pool side that could be used any time. When we went to use the grill, it was full of cigarette butts. I told the manager and she said she would have it thrown away. I then asked if they were getting a new one of which she informed me they do not furnish a grill. We had non-smoking reservations which were not honored. We requested four rooms on the same floor and as close together as possible, and were it was told not a problem and we could move in in 2 days.
A week passed and we were unable to move in. Then when we did, two of the "non-smoking" rooms had been smoked in. The clock in the kitchenette wasn't working (battery) and we were informed that corporate policy said the clocks were being removed. One of the washers has been broken for 3 weeks; the water fountain needs repairing for 3 weeks (rattling all the time). The thermostat in my room is basically non-adjustable in that it's either freezing cold or too hot. The kitchen faucet continually leaks, to which the maintenance person said, "Sorry". The burners on the stove are set at such a sharp angle that it's very hard to cook on. The stove needed to be leveled and after 4 days of asking the front desk, I adjusted it myself, and the filth under the stove leads me to believe that it has never been cleaned.
Then there is the dog problem. I am down here working for the railroad and am working nights. Several times, I went to the management about the dog next door that was continually barking. Not until UPRR's corporate lodging manager called did the problem get taken care of. Unfortunately, I feel like the management team here treats us like we are peons rather than your greatest asset, your customer. I know that habitual complainers sometimes get a deaf ear, but whatever happened to the idea that the customer is always right?
