Recently used Booking.com for a hotel reservation in NYC and due to not receiving an email confirmation from Booking.com; resubmitted the credit card info twice to secure the hotel room, for the same night.. When realized that the 2nd reservation needed to be cancelled for the same night, after receiving the confirmation email, contacted Booking.com to cancel the 2nd hotel room reservation for the same night. The customer service was very unyielding and told me to contact the hotel directly which I did.

After several attempts to cancel out the 2nd reservation for the same date was unable to do so, since the hotel told me the 2nd reservation needed to be cancelled out directly by a Booking.com agent. Contacted Booking.com several times and was told to contact hotel again to cancel out 2nd reservation. 2nd reservation was never cancelled and was charged to credit card. Will not be using Booking.com in the future, since there is no customer service satisfaction and had very negative experience in dealing with Booking.com.

My wife and I went on our honeymoon and traveled several places. One of the places we were planning on staying at was a B&B near Zion Canyon, Utah. I thought I had booked my reservation through Priceline, but come to find out after the fact that it was booking.com. When we went to go check in we couldn't find the place. It was not well marked and I actually had to call the place to find out where it was. No answer and no callback. We finally found the place and went in. I was not impressed. The bathroom in the shower was a makeshift shower and still had the drywall exposed.

The owner then told us that they did not provide breakfast and gave us some vouchers for a coffee shop 2 miles away for $8 a piece. You can't even get a decent breakfast let alone False advertising for a B&B. The lighting was poor and my wife got a very bad feeling from the owner and house so we did not even stay there after we paid for it. I contacted Booking.com to resolve it. They did nothing except send them a complaint letter which I wrote. After looking into booking.com reviews, I found very poor ratings and will never use them again. I am still out the money and need a refund. Booking.com has not done anything to help with this.

I booked a hotel room at the Lido Beach Resort in Sarasota, FL for the weekend of 10/28/16 & 10/29/16 to attend a wedding. Upon arrival at 10 PM on 10/28/16 I didn't have a room at the resort. I was put into a Holiday Inn from the resort and told I was going to be charged the same rate as if I was staying in the resort. The resort pulled this with other parties as well that were there for the wedding. I subsequently contacted Booking.com on 10/29/16 to discuss the situation.

The customer service I received to obtain resolution was astoundingly bad from Booking.com. They stated that since I have another room that everything should be fine and they considered the matter closed. I informed Booking.com multiple times that this was not agreeable. It turns out that Booking.com did not send any of my contact information to the resort and never informed me of not having a room at the resort. I have received terrible customer service from the resort and from Booking.com. There is no way I will use either company again for future travel needs.

Seven months ago, I reserved a room in a hotel in Charleston, SC for my 50th college reunion. Good thing I checked on this five days before the arrival. I had/have a Booking.com reservation number but upon checking with the hotel, well, they never heard of me. Called Booking.com. "Ummm, aaah, there was a problem with the (Holiday Inn) hotel's computer but we sent them a fax." Isn't that wonderful? They sent a fax but never followed up on it to assure the reservation was complete.

Booking.com found a nearby hotel of approximate quality but the location created a transportation problem for us. The agent at Booking.com was pleasant but talked too much. In the end, they offered me a $26 credit for taxi service if I would save, assemble and send them the receipts. Perhaps I will get a reimbursement about 10:00 next summer. I've used Booking.com for many reservations in the US and Europe without a problem until now. Mistakes will happen. I know that but Booking.com should have fallen all over themselves to make this right and I think they fell way short.

I booked with Booking.com. one night for two people. The site took all my details and debit card details. No confirmation email was sent but I got a message saying "You didn't finish your booking with you. Do you still want to continue?" The site then directed me to do the whole process over again which I did. I then discovered that Booking.com had charged me twice for the one night, so obviously the original booking with them did go through, despite them saying it didn't. On ringing to complain, "Fahli" was extremely unhelpful and said it was my fault and refused to refund my account. I will NOT be using this site again in future.

Although we are local to the area, after my father's death and it being our 1st anniversary, we wanted to stay in the city for an evening without the worry of driving or public transport. I booked via Booking.com. Unfortunately I booked the night of the 11th of November instead of the 12th at £45 on a non-refundable non-cancellation term. My mistake but it happens. I asked for an amendment with the cancellation fee waivered. Booking.com's answer from Campanile was that the dates could be changed for a fee of £54 so totaling £99.00 for the night of the 13th. To book the 13th on Booking.com would have been £72.25 so an additional £26.75 for admin!

After speaking to Victoria at Booking.com and explaining that to book the 2 nights would be £117.25, a difference of £18.25 between that and the charge from Campanile to change the booking Victoria advised to go ahead and book the 2nd night as "Hotels usually look more favourably on waiving the cancellation fee if they can see you do actually intend to stay." Then surprise surprise Booking.com advises that Campanile still refuse to waive the cancellation fee. I worked at a hotel that contracted Booking.com and know that it is within the hotel and Booking.com's discretion to amend and waiver fees but am also aware of the terms and conditions I booked under. Moral of the story is - Don't make an honest mistake and expect any help from the Campanile Hotel in Leicester or Booking.com. Very disappointed. Let's see if the upcoming stay makes up for it!!

I spent 3 hours on the phone with both the hotel and site. Neither my father nor godfather are not tech savvy, so they reached out to me after experiencing personal issues trying to contact Booking.com. I understand safety protocol, but their team manner was not only short, but totally disrespectful, rude and entirely unprofessional (I provided my father's name, email, last four digits of CC and asked that he contact him direct). I am an avid traveler and have been to over 25 countries, however after this experience I will NEVER use this company again. I also plan to tell my personal travel community of 20K to do the same. This was, of course, after VERIFYING that there apparently were no "hidden charges or fees" in addition to what was already paid and held accountable during the checkout. However, in spite of these words, the website apparently was not at all breaking down all the fees. I was extremely shocked by the $1000 payment which was charged directly to my credit card, without my consent nor approval. In addition to this going over my budget, the booking was nonrefundable and gave me a bad, bad headache. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Will not recommend for booking on this website. According to my experience, don't be surprised if a hidden charge will occur.

I booked Hotel Park Inn by Radisson in Zurich and they said were not able to process my card. Very bad experience using Booking.com. Customer service was determined to put the blame on customer. If they were not able to process my card why provide confirmation? I booked on sept 27th and left on Oct 2nd. There was not email or phone contact to attempt to inform me of the card processing failures. On oct 14th they decided to cancel my booking. How funny is that.

Anyways do not book through booking.com rather use Expedia. They have courteous customer service reps and reasonable booking policies. The irony is that I booked another hotel on booking.com and they did not have any issue holding on the booking till I reached. I guess they must have overbooked and using this as an excuse to cancel my booking. Travelers beware of Booking.com and Hotel Park Inn by Radisson In Zurich.

My situation was I showed up at the location and it was completely unacceptable from odors in the home to a swarm of bees flying in the ceiling on the upper floor where we were booked to stay. I paid the cancellation fee and left. To add insult to injury the Booking.com will not allow me to review the location because I did not stay there. Catch 22 and not customer supportive. We finally found the correct hotel for us but once we had booked we had very quickly realised that we had selected pay on arrival which means the hotel take the money between that date until we arrived. This did not suit us so we called booking.com within that hour to cancel. We have asked for a refund and we have an email to confirm this within 15 days and still no money. We have been patient and waited all that time bearing in mind getting charged for being in overdraft. We have had to call again to then be told 'we are really sorry and you will get this money back in 5 days'.

I have been told over the phone by the customer relation team she will look into my case. I wanted answers there and then to only be told that they have done their job and that I should feel lucky to have the money back in this space of time and most of these cases it takes months. Should feel lucky in this situation... I don't think so! As a customer we have had a month of waiting around for booking.com to do their job. The customer service team are not great at communicating and will never book through this company ever again!!! I will also tell everyone I know my experience and this will then be passed to another 10 people. No compensations for a whole month of stress and anxiety. Never again with booking.com.

So, having found this good deal, I booked it then I purchased the flights. 2 Days later, I received an email from booking.com telling me that there was an error in rates. As I sent them an email explaining to them that when I made the booking, they specifically state that I had locked a good deal. So this means that they do not honor the bind and can change the prices even after you complete the booking. In my case 2 days later. They told me it was an 'obvious' mistake. That was my experience again recently when I confirmed a hotel in New York with a price including taxes and was then told it did not include taxes. They would not rectify, talked over me on the phone and hung up when I tried to talk. For my toddler daughter fell ill so we had to cancel a 15 days holiday hence the booking with hotel Amadeus Royal Berlin, so I cancelled on time as stated by the hotel policy. I got a message on the website stating that the booking has been successfully cancelled so I was satisfied. A day before the booking my calendar reminded me that I have a booking the following day. When I went back to Booking.com, the booking was still intact. I called the hotel and the receptionist only spoke German so she could not understand or she pretended she did not understand. Then I called Booking.com explaining the situation but they totally ignored the system having a fault and left the problem with the hotel. The hotel is so ruthless that they did not even let me speak with the GM or responded to my calls or emails.

I was willing to provide the evidence that my daughter was indeed ill but it meant nothing to the fully booked hotel because they got some extra cash for the month. Emergency cancellations can happen at the last minute. There is a reason why emergency is called emergency. Both the hotel and Booking.com has acted shamefully given my circumstances were genuine and uncontrollable. I did not cancel my hotel for a better deal, I just could not make my holiday. I am still waiting for a reply from Booking.com. I was also given the impression that the hotel is looking into the matter and waiting for the reservation dept. I was still waiting for a response and my booking was cancelled without my consent the day after. It is simply not an ethical. I was even willing to pay some of the nights but no they had to keep my £800 in full. So that is my annual holiday done for this year. I hope both hotel and Booking.com have a great year.

For these latest visits, I thought I was being asked to give any card number merely to secure the booking, NOT to make advance payment, and so I used a different card. The upshot is that payment has been taken in advance of the stays using the wrong card and I've been charged nearly £30 for currency exchange. Booked a room in London. Headline rate was £280 for 2 night. Billed £230 over two separate charges from property's agent, an extra £50. Queried with Booking.com and advised it was a standard cleaning fee. Thought there must be an error and that it was a higher charge for excessive cleaning (unlikely as travelled alone and am currently pregnant so hardly a party animal). Made the point and was told that it wasn't for specialist cleaning it was just a standard charge.

My argument was that it should be included in the room rate. Was told it is in fine print. Checked fine print and it is listed in the section for Deposits and Bonds. Now in the UK as long as there is no damage both of these items are refundable or not charged at all... so why is a fixed standard fee put here and not in the room rate? Raised with customer service. Pointless, advised they are legally able to put fixed costs under 'Deposits and Bonds Section' and for the advertised rate and 'total price' NOT to be the total price. As a comparison site Booking.com is unreliable as you cannot trust the headline room rate or the 'total price quoted'.

Me and my family planned our travel to London a year in advance to avoid any unnecessary trouble during the trip as we are to travelling with our 1 year old daughter and our 60 year old mother. Unfortunately we made a HUGE mistake choosing BOOKING.COM and CITY MARQUE to handle our accommodation. We booked a service apartment with the address 21 Lower Marsh Waterloo, London for the dates September 19, 2016 to September 23, 2016 and paid in full before our scheduled travel. We called the customer service hotline once we reached the apartment to get some help, as we cannot access the digital door of the apartment (while we were waiting outside the apartment with our baby and mother). We were shocked when the customer representative informed us that they emailed us about the cancellation our booking on the day of our flight!

We tried to reasoned that we did not get to read the email as we do not have access to our email during the flight, to our dismay CITY MARQUE didn't even bother to booked/transfer us to a different hotel/apartment and asked us to booked our accommodation on our own expense. Same goes with the Booking.com as they offered no help at all. In addition to our disappointments, both CITY MARQUE and BOOKING.COM makes it really hard for us to get the refund for the cancelled booking. Will appreciate if anyone can give us any suggestions how to deal with CITY MARQUE and BOOKING.COM with regards to refunds of cancelled booking and poor service.

I did get reservation for two night at the Hampton Inn in Queens, via Booking.com. The price was set and clear. When I asked to check out at the hotel, the front desk lady pressed a button and told me that I have been charged to my credit card and that they would email my statement. I asked for a hard copy and got one. I discovered they had charged me more for the second night. These charges were not in accordance with the Booking.com shown price. The front desk lady would not change the bill even when I showed her the Booking papers. She stated that she could not determine what Booking price was about. I had to catch a flight so I could not do more on the spot. I have tried to find a website or a procedure to make my complaint at the Booking.com against the hotel, but strangely I can not find this anywhere.

My family and I have been using Booking.com for national and international travel for over 6 years. None of us have ever had a problem, every detail has been precise and accurate. We always book refundable rooms as that way there is no issue. It is up to the consumer to be aware and do the right thing and then you will have no problem. I know if a hotel says non-refundable then that is what it means. Only once did we have one unclear issue and that was cleared up for us in record time by Booking.com. I would use them any time. P.S. On two separate occasions I have booked a room and the total has changed after I have submitted my credit card number. The first time it was double the advertised rate because of an extra person fee, the room was $120 and the extra person fee was $120 which was not disclosed until after I received my receipt in an email. Today the rate I booked was $123 and when I received email confirmation it is $146. These people are crooks.

For my surprise, when I got my visa bill, it was $793. Apparently Booking.com does not show the total price. There was some fine print saying there was an additional $155 cleaning bill and $55 service fee. When I contacted the accommodation, they said that they have asked Booking.com to include the full charge of the accommodation, not additional amounts in the fine print. Sucks, as we would not have booked it if we had known upfront!!! Will not be using Booking.com again.

Obviously our travel plans are peanuts compared to the lives and well-being of everyone in this hurricane's path, so I feel rather petty for worrying about getting a refund for a hotel reservation. So I emailed Booking.com. It took them almost a week to get back to me and when they did, they said that it was up to the Hyatt to decide if they would reimburse me and that they would have to check and get back to me. It has been a week and so far no one has gotten back to me. I have emailed Booking.com to no avail.

Meanwhile, they want me to edit my review on my stay at the Hyatt (why?) because it does not meet their guidelines and they keep sending me more offers. Please!!! I do not want any more offers until they can address this issue of mine. I'm tempted to give it 2 stars but I'm talking about $200 and I just think I should have been contacted by now. I found what appeared to be a decent rate at Milner Hotel Boston - which I booked but read a few bad reviews and decided I didn't want to chance it. I found another hotel on Booking.com (Club Quarters Hotel) and booked there. I went to cancel the Milner Hotel and Booking.com said they couldn't do it but the hotel might... Might? I contacted the hotel and they said Booking.com would have to cancel it. Neither are being cooperative. My credit card has a pending charge of $471.76 for a hotel I CANCELLED!

The explanation given is that I was offered at 10% discount... 10% and they want to charge me $471.76 for a hotel that has bad reviews and for which I cancelled in less than a minute of booking. The hotel is now saying (through Booking.com mind you) that they will not cancel without a full 100% penalty. This is unreal. How can they treat customers this way? Booking.com is the whole "BAD experience" that can be in our time when internet turned to something that killed service and customer orientation. It's all about money and the person doesn't exist anymore. And yes - I am familiar with what the database is and how the information is retrieved. I am high tech person myself. However, sometimes there are situations when the service people need to step in and help even if it requires some extra small effort.

When they say policy of the company and that's how they justify the fact that they don't - it's another words. The company only wants to make money and they don't care about you. I was trying to cancel the reservation and when for several reasons didn't have the booking number but could provide all other information but service did not want to assist in any way. 1. There are other sites to do the booking. 2. I have over 2000 friends in Facebook and as you see I am willing to make an effort to advertise your "great service." 3. And if you still don't care - then it is what is so it's even worth.

While I knew the room was nonrefundable, I also knew there were two formal dinners, a college football game, a college football game in the next town over and a museum groundbreaking that weekend just to name a few of the events that were occurring, so it seemed likely the motel could rent the room.

Booking, com did not even try to assist me. The only reply was to remind me that the amount was non-refundable. My dissatisfaction had less to do with the fact that I received no refund and much more to do with the fact that booking.com didn't even make a veiled attempt to assist me, let alone an actual attempt. I understand that you cannot refund every single customer on a non-refundable room, but to not even attempt to assist a customer is unacceptable.

My hotel was reserved for the previous day (same night I realized the issue). I could no longer make any changes online and risked being a no show, and losing $550 for the room rate, plus having to rebook another night's stay. I called customer service (it was 9pm), not expecting they would be able to help. I waited 5 minutes to speak to someone. When I finally got a rep on the line and was able to explain my situation, he was really nice and understanding. He said he would reach out to the hotel and see what he could do. I was asking him to cancel a same day reservation and rebook the room for the following day with no penalty charges.

After another 5 minutes he returned on the line. The hotel was willing to help. We rebooked the room for a lower rate and cancelled with no penalty. Even though it was late in the evening and the booking agent had already gone for the day. I was deeply grateful and pleasantly surprised by the experience. A lot has to do with the hotel and their flexibility and a lot has to do with the customer service agent. Thanks booking.com for being so helpful and human!

I made the reservation and in the memo section I mentioned the two dogs. I always have the habit of rechecking reservations. Within minutes after making the reservation I called The Holiday Inn in Eau Claire, WI and was told they were not pet friendly. I was also instructed to call Booking.com for the refund. I called Booking.com who placed me on call and when he came back he confirmed that he saw where I checked for Pet Friendly. He also told me that he spoke to a Chris at Holiday Inn reservations and redirected me back to Holiday Inn again for the refund. I called Holiday Inn and they told me that the reservation was made through a third party and therefore had to call Booking.com to give me the refund.

Called Booking.com and they went through the process of rechecking what I told them. The person placed me on hold and when she came back on line, she said she confirmed what I said and it was their web glitch but the best they could do was refund me 50% because it was also my fault for not checking with Holiday Inn about the pets before I made the reservations. I explained to her that if I was supposed to call Holiday Inn to verify the information before making the reservations through Booking.com, I might as well make the reservations directly with Holiday Inn and not use them. Needless to say that they would not bend and refund the amount. I called my bank, explained the problem and cancelled my card.

Did a reservation using this Booking.com website and when was comparing it with other website it looks cheaper... After you key in your details... Then that's when everything will get revealed. The price is more expensive than any other website... So then I tried to do their price comparison thing, that they say they'll match the price if you find somewhere else lower... But they'll find a way to delay it until other websites are fully book and can't compare anymore... even as for snapshot but still just delaying tactic.

Called few time and asked if I can just get a refund and told they will call the hotel... and they will call me back. And they didn't get back to me... Called them and said I can't get refunded and told to call the hotel instead! Of course the hotel won't do anything about it... and tried my credit card. And another shock that the amount that I'll be charge is more after all these hidden charges. So what I suggest avoid this website... Let your friends avoid this website. It's better to use others and have peace of mind that you wont get cheated.

My husband is being treated at Toronto Western Hospital and we tried to find a hotel close by as he has an early morning appointment on Tuesday Sept 27. I Googled hotels that were local to this and found one. I called the number on the website and it was for Booking.com. The hotel I selected was full so the service rep found me another one - Urban Living Suites - that was close by. I was told that I had until Sat Sept 24th to cancel my reservation without penalty (my reservation was for Monday Sept 26). About 1-2 hours later, we decided to cancel the reservation. I was given a customer service number that kept me on hold for 25 min then disconnected. I tried again - same thing. Then I called the new reservation line and finally got someone who transferred me again and they could not find my booking. They gave me the hotel directly.

The hotel said they had a no cancellation policy and I would have to pay $162 fee. They also said they could not cancel the reservation and I would have to talk directly to Booking.com. They gave me a different number to call. I finally go through to someone who was helpful but said so sorry, I would have to pay the cancellation fee which is the policy of the hotel. She offered to talk to the hotel - which she did - but said they would change the reservation for a different day. However, I live in Guelph and rarely go into Toronto. Also, after all this treatment, I did not want to give the hotel my business. What makes me angry is the fact that I was told by Booking.com that I could cancel the reservation without penalty- otherwise I would not have taken the hotel.

Booking.com didn't take down my email correctly, so I did not get a confirmation of my reservation. When I finally go to speak to someone, I corrected the error in the email address. I had given the service person my phone number so I don't know why they did not call me when my email bounced back. Without the codes in the email, I could not cancel my booking online through Booking.com's website. I will not book a hotel or anything through Booking.com again.

On the other hand if I want to cancel a guest who is coming in 3 month because of renovation or any other reason, they say "oh you cannot cancel the guest". They will relocate the following guest and if they find him a more expensive house I should pay the difference. Its sooo funny. Im really, really tired with them. Im seriously thinking of closing the account with them. They are thief's. They take from me 18% commission and on the beginning of the month their invoice is ready.

One last incident we had with them, we had a guest coming and he sexually harassed one of our cleaners. When I called to report the problem they said "call police". On the other hand the guest wrote a review that we dont clean for him the house. I asked them "how can you accept this review on your website. Arrived there, this is not a hotel, is a room in an apartment in a block of flats. The room is small, two persons hardly fit inside, the bathroom is glued to the bed, the walls are thin and the noise from the other 5 (I think there were 5 or 7) rooms of the apartment can be heard easily. The room is far far away from what they showed on their Booking page. I said to the housekeeper I cannot sleep in such condition and that I cancel my booking due to the non adequate accommodation conditions. I cancel the booking online.

Booking.com sends me a message on my Android app saying the cancellation was done free of charge. I check my account and notice the hotel took 155 E from my account for this improper room where I did not sleep. I contact Booking and they blame the hotel. But the hotel did not have my card details. Only Booking had them and my data are not registered and not available automatically. So, aside the fact Booking gave my card details to this ''apartment company'' without my agreement, they promote this hotel which is totally lying about what they offer and Booking is telling me they take no responsibility for the hotels advertising on their site. Booking sustains the fraudulent policy of this ''hotel''.

Booking.com is aware of all this and does nothing. They told me they are only an interface of the hotel and they do not respond for what the hotel is advertising on their site. BUT THEY CHARGE THE COMMISSIONS SO THAT THEY ARE SERVICES PROVIDERS AND THEY SHOULD ANSWER FOR THEIR DEEDS. Booking.com is an accomplice to this fraud.

The value was 497 CAD (without taxes) for a period of 3 days, for me, my parents and my children. The reservation confirmation stated that we could arrive until midnight. We arrived around 8:30 pm and the place was locked. I called the owner for about 1 hour, without an answer. I also tried calling Booking.com during this hour, without any response. After one hour or so, the owner answered, he got my reservation number, checked in his system and said that the place was sold out and unfortunately, the loft was rented to another person. I got very desperate because I was in a city I did not know and had 2 seniors and 2 kids with me.

I tried to call Booking.com desperately and again no answer, so I took my family to a gas station and kept searching for another place to stay. I do not know how many hotels I called. They were all sold out. Around midnight I finally found 2 rooms in a Quality Hotel which for just ONE night overcome my budget costing me both CAN $950.00 and for the other 2 nights we stayed in a place that cost another $640.00 which is a total of $1,590.00 for 3 nights, totally not planned for this trip thanks to the horrible service of Booking.com and its partners that don't honored the word they promised when you make the deal through the app or web. Afterwards I spend some days (28 in total) to calm myself down and think about a reasonable solution, which brought me to call Booking.com as ask that they pay me back at least the difference between the amount I paid with both hotels and the amount I was going to pay in the place Booking.com promised me.

When I contacted them their proposal was 50% of the extra amount I paid, recommended and said for the supervisor Cory ** that was irreducible about this offer. They really believe that all the embarrassment I had with my parents visiting me from another country and my kids is worth 50% of the extra money I spend that night. So in my opinion the quality of the service of Booking.com is definitely suspicious in terms of honoring what they promise and if you need any help do not count on them. It does not work, go for another company.

Booked my first hotel via booking.com. Hotel Gran Via in Burgas, Bulgaria. Gave my debit card details several weeks before I booked. Received confirmation from the hotel. No problem. A few days before I was due to arrive at the Hotel Gran Via they wanted payment. I gave my card details as before. Then I get a message from the hotel saying my bank had declined my card which was very odd as the account had plenty of money in it. Called the bank and they said they have no record of them even trying to collect the money so they could not decline it if they wanted to.

Called booking.com who called the hotel and was told they only accept credit cards and not debit cards which is not made clear when I booked the hotel. Then for several days I offered to pay the hotel direct to their bank account or give them cash when I arrived. They cancelled my booking without my consent two days before I was due to stay. Won't use booking.com or Hotel Gran Via in Burgas again for sure. Tried to cancel my booking.com account but that did not work and tried to complain to them also but the site is clearly set up to stop such events as no matter how many times I tried it did not work.

I am a Marriott's Rewards Member. I used Booking.com for a 4 night reservation on Columbus weekend for Renaissance Hotel, Las Vegas (Booking number ** on 15th September 2016) with breakfast, free cancellation, pay on stay, double room with city view. The confirmation email that came within minutes looked even better at first with a lower total but on close examination it was shocking and indicated I could not cancel and if I did, the full charge of $1,104.32 would be executed. Further the breakfast was removed and Card was to be charged immediately. Luckily I had snapshots of whole booking process and insisted on free cancellation. It was a major nightmare, especially, because I had already purchased air tickets. No one needs to be up at 3am trying to get an agent to live up to advertised offers.

I would strongly advise potential customers to book with hotels directly. I would strongly advise Hotels to read all our feedback and cancel all and any contracts with Bookings.com, failure to which Hotels should be held legally liable for any false information presented on their behalf by Booking.com. Booking.com should stop and desist operating if the information they are providing is fraudulent. I was lucky to force a free cancellation. I then booked directly with Renaissance, as I should have done in the first place.

I did not get an ADA compliant room so I am unable to use the shower. When I went to cancel and check out I was told I would not get refund. The reservation cannot be canceled without forfeiting the entire amount of the reservation. Now I am stuck in a hotel that is not in a safe neighborhood, and where I cannot shower for the next 10 days. I have to wash in the sink. Which by the way does not have a plug. There are no drawers in the room so you cannot unpack. The hotel is awful. Do not book at Microtel and definitely do not book through Booking.com.

You have to hover your mouse over the condition to see that payment will be charged to your credit card anytime. To add to the confusion they don't get your CVV so you think you are merely reserving the room. I only found out that my card will be charged immediately was when I received their email confirmation.

Booking.com is unreliable and makes false adverts. When you access the site or application by your phone, it will redirect you to a third party hotel site. The site becomes unclear with their policies because Booking.com had initially stated for example free reservation, free cancellation, pay on arrival, reserve by bank card etc. These are attractive advertisement that you do not see when you are reserving a hotel. After reservation, you'll be shocked by the email you'll receive of, "thank you ....! Your reservation is now confirmed".

It will not be long before your account will be debited of the full amount. If you cancelled by this mistrust, your cancellation will be decline. If you contacted Booking.com they will give you excuses that you picked a wrong option that the option that never existed at the time of reservation. They will also refer you to the hotel that was advertised by them unknown to you in the first beginning. If you contacted the hotel if abroad you'll be met by answering machine in totally different language, be it Spanish, German or French. If you left a message in English with your contact details they will never come back to you. Now the option left is to follow with your bank that might claim a charge back.

You will end up not getting a refund since Booking.com is working on a commission from the hotel. This has happened to me and fail to understand where on earth are our rights as consumers. You pay for a holiday you never took for being misled. The truth is since you'll fail to show up at the hotel they'll resell the room(s) and Booking.com will earn double commission or might end up in a loop. The West Hotel in Edinburgh has charged me 45 pounds for cancellation fees. Booking.com has never sent me a confirmation email stating my reservation. My reservation was for 4 nights and I have never received a confirmation. The company has also denied my request when I have rang requesting the confirmation email that they said they have sent me. They could not prove to me that they have sent the email. Apparently the cancellation policy was written about in that confirmation email.

I did not authorised the company to charge me for this incident and they went ahead. I had people for the hotel sending me emails (after 3 nights of never showing up at the hotel) saying that they will charge me for not showing up at the hotel when there was no cancellation fees when I did the reservation online. The people from the hotel rang me about the incident but I was not able to answer properly during my tour in the Highland of Edinburgh, with no good reception. However they didn't care, they kept going sending emails and contact me over the phone and after being interrupted numerous times, they hung up the phone on me.

Staff from the hotel told me that I should have contact the hotel as soon as I did not receive a confirmation email. I believe they should have contact me about me the first night I didn't turn up at the hotel. Shame on you Booking.com, shame on you West Hotel and shame on you Edinburgh for having people with very low level of caring for their visitors. I will tell people that this website is not reliable at all!!!

I attempted to book a hotel room with this company last week. I received an email from them stating that I had not completed my booking. They said I could try again to book. When I tried to rebook, I got a message that said there were no more rooms available, so I booked a different hotel in the same town. Yesterday I got a "no show" notice from booking.com and a bill for €225 for a hotel I had not realized I had a reservation for. I looked at my bookings on the booking.com website and found no reference to the hotel among my listings. I only saw the name of the second hotel I had booked. I immediately tried to resolve this with booking.com and the hotel, and with no success. It looks as if I will be paying €225 (about $250) for a hotel I had no reference to. I have told booking.com that I will no longer be booking a hotel through them and to cancel my account.

Hi, I booked an apartment for my son and family for 13/08.16 through Booking.com. They arrived in the remote village which was 30 miles off of their route and could not find the place, this was 10:30-ish at night. I telephoned the place where I had booked only to be told they had not got an apartment free. I had to telephone my Spanish friend in Majorca and she telephoned the place for me and was also told they were full. Erica (my friend) told her I had confirmation of the booking for an apartment and she had to help. The lady did find my son and family in her village.

My 2 grandchildren were both crying and frightened. They were in the middle of nowhere in the dark, a dog had attacked their car and frightened them. However the lady took them back and put them in a room in her house where she obviously had other guests. The room did not even have an en suite and the bathroom was down the hall. My son was still charged the 95 euros that the apartment would have been. Booking.com have been most unhelpful and only offered 25 euros compensation. This just about covers all the phone calls back and forth from the UK to Spain and vise-versa especially as my son was using his mobile phone. NEVER USE BOOKING.COM and also check other companies are not part of them.

In a nutshell it's a basic middle man website. They make things much more difficult than going straight to the resort. "Booked" a room 10 weeks out, got a confirmation the whole deal. A month after that they sent me an email saying the room was no longer available. Call get it sorted out, then two weeks after that, started getting more emails saying I had yet to confirm. Of course they're all from different "agents" which know nothing when you call. Luckily one guy was helpful, he must be the only one there doing anything. Then again he didn't tell us the resort didn't take AMEX so it kicked it back, so who's to say. This was probably the most amusing part to me: "We would have liked to discuss your reservation at Sea Mist Resort, a VRI resort on the phone, but unfortunately it wasn't an appropriate time to call you."

Whilst on holiday in Italy and specifically being in Florence, I had booked for 2 nights at hotel Michael Angelo in Milan through booking.com. Due to a decision of wanting to spend more time in Florence, I cancelled the booking in Milan ON THE SAME DAY WITHIN A FEW HOURS. I received a confirmation from booking.com that my booking was cancelled. Nowhere did they advise me that despite me cancelling my booking, I will still be charged the FULL amount for the 2 nights totalling 202. Only after I was advised that my booking was a non-refundable one I went back to the cancellation notice and found a DRILL DOWN notice advising me of this. If one doesn't click on it, one wouldn't know that it is non-refundable. If they would have told me that then I would have kept to my original schedule and gone to Milan on the dates booked.

The fact that they notified me that the booking was cancelled without advising me that I will STILL BE CHARGED, I was under the impression that I would be refunded the charge to my card. When I didn't receive my refund for a week, I called them and only then was I told that I had made a non-refundable booking and that I would not be getting any refund. In fact the person on the phone from booking.com was really unhelpful. All he kept saying is that there is nothing they could do and that if I wanted I could call the hotel directly and try and get a refund. I asked him if he could call them on my behalf and he refused on the basis that they were prohibited from calling the hotel.

I found this strange as in another instance a very helpful lady from booking.com actually called the hotel on my behalf when I inadvertently inserted an incorrect date on my booking and she assisted in resolving the issue by calling the hotel. Either the guy I spoke to with this matter was lying or the rules change every day. I then did call the hotel (Michaelangelo - Milan) and the duty manager was actually quite abrupt and outright rude to me and said that they definitely will not consider any refund. I have done a number of bookings through booking.com but didn't need them to assist before. Only now when I really needed some answers and they point blank refused to help me I can see that all they are interested in is making their commission and thereafter it's your problem not theirs. Very very disappointing.

Two days later I was about to head to the grocery store so I needed to check my account. THEY CHARGED MY CARD FOR THE ENTIRE FEE. No pending hold or anything! An actual charge! Meaning my money was gone.

I call the property and ask them why they charged my card and their response? Our contract with Booking states that we charge a full first night. Nowhere was this stayed in the site for the hotel. I cancel. And I call Booking to find out how long this will take to show because I need to buy food! The whole time the lady keeps interrupting me and telling me I don't get charged for cancellation. I finally had to raise my voice and tell her "let me finish speaking." Only then did she understand what I was saying. Then she comes back with 7 - 10 days. A WEEK TO TWO WEEKS FOR ME TO BUY FOOD FOR MY FAMILY BECAUSE BOOKING CAN'T STAND BY WHAT THEY ADVERTISE. Twenty minutes later the hotel is charging me a fee the same cost as the booking. Called customer service immediately & the representative would not help me, directed me to call the hotel myself. No help.

Called Booking.com customer service the next morning and was able to secure a decent representative who said I would be refunded. That was over a month ago. It's been over a month, and I have called their center 14 times, usually speaking with kind and understanding reps, BUT I still do not have my refund!!! Every week a rep says 3-5 days or 5 business days. They claim they don't have my banking proof of the charge when they do. They then claim they need to validate, which has been done. They state the hotel manager won't be in until the evening. They have told me three times Booking.com will issue the refund now my situation has been escalated and they will invoice the hotel themselves. STILL NO REFUND 37 DAYS LATER.

I wanted to be in the area when my nieces were there with my great nieces. Every place in the area seemed to be booked up until I tried Booking.com. They had a room available at "Colonial Shores Resort" in Hampton Bays, NY. I was told that there was a "full complement" of pots and pans in the room. The six nights I booked for came to something over $2,400. When I arrived the woman in charge demanded immediate payment. I told her I might leave after four nights, but she insisted on payment for six. I gave her my debit card. She told me it had been declined, but she had put a charge of about $250 on it. I should have known something was wrong. I had made sure to put enough money into my account to cover the charge. I gave her my credit card. She put another $250, and a charge for $1,030 on that. Instead of a single room, I was in a two bedroom suite, with one queen sized bed in one room and two full sized beds in the other.

The ciucheck was a sofa bed. The towels were the cheapest institutional type. There were two tiny sauce pans and a big aluminum pan such as you might use for cooking corn. After I bought a small frying pan can lid, the woman gave a 12 inch non stick skillet. I checked out after four days. I asked about a refund. Of course I did not get one. I was given three receipts totaling $1,530 more than $200 more than the price I had been quoted. I complained to Booking com. I was told that they had contacted her, but she refused to budge. I was told that would drop the glorified flop house from their listings. They did not. Now that I see the numbers of complaints, I realize that Colonial Shores (Last) Resort and Booking.com are part of a syndicate of rip-off lodgings around the world.

I booked a stay through booking.com at a place in Greece (Syvota) called LIODENTRO-OLEA and 2 days after I got my confirmation and pin, the owner refused to honor it stating a mishap at booking.com's site about length of stay in the place which booking.com accepted that there were no such a thing. After continuous conversations at my expense and time, the owner admitted the fault and offered to have us stay at another apartment she owned, as long as we cancel the reservation.

Booking.com rep me and the owner agreed that the offer was accepted and booking.com, NOT ME, pushed the cancel button on the 27th of July. The owner on the 4th of August send me an email stating that she is not willing to honor the new deal she had agreed citing fictitious legal reasons and stated she will not re-imburse any difference in a new booking that I would make even though she and booking had agreed to that, in a different hotel.

When I contacted numerous times booking.com to find me places they kept sending emails for places through airbnb.com that had no vacancy. Finally when I send all the email correspondence and complaint for the service and the outright disservice and scam I suffered, booking.com decided without reading the greek emails that I forwarded to them proving all, cause they had no one to translate (wow). And said even though I was right and the proprietor is wrong, even though they offered me if I found a place anywhere else they would re-imburse me even if the dates were different due to no availability and the owner will be charged per-the- deal agreed.

They offered me that they cannot re-imburse me cause the place was different and the dates were different!!! From 13-15th of August originally to 18-21 of August! WHAT A JOKE! And that they legally cannot charge/re-imburse me that difference due to that, and that they were sorry... The owner of that place is a crook, they admitted that she was wrong, they received no reprimand or consequences, booking did not honor the deal or back me up and I was left alone and with a ruined vacation plan. They even stated that they spend too much time and hassle with that problem and could not afford to do anything else. I have all the emails that prove it. UNFORTUNATELY, booking.com cites with every shady owner as long as they get their commission and do absolutely nothing to protect customers from proprietors they themselves admit that they are wrong and acted in breach of their agreements between them.

AVOID booking.com or, if you use your credit card make sure you notify them and complaint and refuse charges if you have incidents. They are what's wrong with tourism these days. They make shady deals with proprietors that don't report the bookings for tax avoidance reasons in Greece where unfortunately they can get away with. If anyone wants to hear the tragic truth they can call me direct, I might be able to save them an ordeal.

I complained to the front desk manager and was told that I would lose my money if I checked out since I was past the refund time. Booking.com website says you can cancel.

When I called Booking.com they said I would lose all my money. Since air conditioning was not stated in the description on the internet, they were not obligated to provide it. Booking.com said it was a luxury unlike a bathroom which is a necessity. I disagree, the temperature is above 90 degrees, sometimes to 100. I have a 3-year old and two children under 10. It is a necessity and should be disclosed that a room booked has no air conditioning. I was forced to pay 30 euros each day for another room with air conditioning. A lawsuit should be filed against Booking.com which is also affiliated with Hotels.com under the deceptive practices of the Fair Trade Act.

We made a reservation 4-5 days in advance and used a credit card to secure the agreement. We drive 600 miles on Monday and received a text in the afternoon which stated they had overbooked and there wouldn't be a room for us. We called and spoke to Dave and he said it was Booking.com and said it was their fault and they had done it before. I asked him why they used them if they had done this before. He said it was because they got 40% of their business from them. So I called Booking.com and they said the bed and breakfast had not updated their inventory when they should have done it. Someone certainly knew more than 4 hours before. We asked for them to pay us for the room like the airline companies. Said they would not help and too bad.

I have written myself a mental note to NEVER use Booking.com again. This is the second time I have paid for a unused room because I could neither cancel or change the date on a reservation. Due to circumstances beyond my control, my travel plans changed by one day and they did not allow me the change option and I had to pay for two nights. I've written them off my book. No problems like that with Expedia.

I have made reservation in a Virginia beach hotel and had to cancel before a month of the reservation. Whenever I call Booking.com they tell me it will take time to get my money back on card and give me the runaround. Free cancellation should mean that I should be able to pay at the hotel - not taking money in my credit card and not returning. Can someone please help me? I can provide all the booking numbers if needed.

Travelling being my major passion I have travelled to many countries across the continents so far and I have reserved travel and accommodation without much problems so far. Prior to my visit to Glasgow, Scotland I booked a hotel through Booking.com for the first time and set off on the train to Glasgow. I received a call while I was on the train from Booking.com stating that the booking I made through their website has been cancelled and they might be able to find me another accommodation. And this was just minutes before I reached Glasgow.

After that I received no further calls but only an email stating the new hotel they have managed to reserve for me and took a taxi to reach the new hotel only to be told on arrival that THEY WERE OVERBOOKED BY BOOKING.COM and they don't have any reserved accommodation for me. And this was at 11 O'clock in the night. Guys be beware of this fraudulent website. I am still waiting to get a proper apology or the refund of the excess money I paid to find a new accommodation. Disgraceful - this word won't even scratch the surface of the service provided by this conning website.

Booking.com are allowing and promoting fraud. The best way to use Booking.com is to use an old credit/debit card, so it can't be charged in advance. They also don't allow you to leave feedback on places you have stayed, if the booking is cancelled by the accommodation. SO, what do they do if they have a problem with you (i.e. looks like you will complain about sub-standards)? They cancel your booking or put you as a no-show. Don't use Booking.com.

Free Cancellation? Not real. Option to pay when you arrive at the hotel? False. They used my card and took the money 2 days before we were even supposed to check in so we try to cancel because of their dishonesty and they tell us over the phone that their company doesn't do free cancellations. They then give me the hotel phone number and tell me to talk to them because they do the cancellations and refunds. I call the hotel and they are upset with Booking.com because they get this situation a lot and tell me that it's completely out of their hands when we book with a 3rd party and that Booking.com is giving us "the runaround". No money returned and no cancellation done. DON'T USE BOOKING.COM!!!

Used the site 2x to book a hotel in Niagara Falls. Both times the hotels were below average yet rated higher and both times I paid more than Booking.com posted on their site. Will never use their site again.
