I've order many tires and wheel packages from Tire Rack. Most of what I've bought I've had trouble with due to constant vibration. Most likely out of round tires and small bends in the rims. I've wasted so much money on balancing tires I can no longer recommend Tire Rack products. Most of the tires have had high road force values but just below what Tire Rack deems returnable. These tire can not be used on my vehicle with stiffer sports suspension so I've been forced to eat the cost multiple times. Lesson learned.

Most recent purchase the wheels were not even road force balanced as claimed by Tire Rack. I had to have all wheels road forced balanced again to find values as a high as 30 and 29. Even with road force balancing reducing these values does not help much as this indicates there an inherent problem with the tires itself. Unfortunately, these can't be returned since the lowered value after balancing are considered acceptable by Tire Rack.

I ordered a set of Tires and Rims on April 19th 2024. I had a hunch it may take some time so I was trying to be patient with the process. I hadn't heard anything about my order so, after 4 weeks I finally called them on May 15th 2024. The women that I spoke to was very rude and abrupt on the phone. She kept saying; "We are waiting to hear from the manufacturer!" When asked if this was normal to take so long and at least, what was the time frame projected for delivery. She just kept repeating, "We are waiting on the manufacturer." I asked her if she could reach out to them. She declined and did not seem knowledgeable about how to go about calling them on my behalf.

I finally called back again on May 25th 2024 to get an update and got transferred to a person that told me "Oh, that order won't be here until July!" Why didn't they tell me this to begin with?? I finally cancelled the order and found a local dealer that ordered me tires and rims that came within 5 days. No problem and even promised a better price than Tire Rack. Will never ever use Tire Rack.com again. Terrible management and communication.

Four new tires with a full warranty on all four tires. Bought them under a year ago. Had a blowout that almost killed my entire family. Children involved. Very frightening. Went and had a local place that are honest and truthful. People took the tires off my car so that they were all wearing the same way and a future blowout could be possible so I replaced all four tires, call Tire Rack to get my warranty working and in place and they gave me the runaround for days and they are doing nothing for me but just stressing me out. They are absolutely a horrible company. Deal with people behind the phone customer service. They just take days to go back-and-forth needing another review and it was all the waste of time. My family still not over the trauma that happened over these crappy tires and cost us a lot of money to put the proper tires on. The discount tire rack gives you is not worth your families lives. Buy somewhere else please. I beg of you.

I purchased a set of Goodyear Eagle All-Season tires a few years ago. While they were still in the two-year warranty period, I experienced a puncture fairly close to the sidewall and contacted Tire Rack. I attempted to replace it under warranty, and being that I have an all-wheel drive car, I ordered an additional tire so at least the tread life of the front tires would match. Unfortunately, shortly after I purchased the set, Tire Rack no longer had them available. I chose these tires specifically because of how quiet they are. They are one of only two tires available with the "sound comfort technology" foam inside, so my choices for similar replacement tires were very limited.

Less than a year after purchasing a new set of tires, I didn't want to, and couldn't afford to, purchase yet another entire new set of different tires. A representative told me that they may receive more stock soon, so I patched the tire and decided to wait, every two to three days having to top it off with air. The leak has gotten worse and now that I have two children, I can no longer continue to drive on a tire that is this compromised. I just looked on the site and found that the tires are finally back in stock.

Even though I alerted Tire Rack within the necessary time period, unfortunately, I am now outside the two-year warranty period, and Tire Rack will not replace the one tire. It is not my fault that Tire Rack was unable to replace the tire within the warranty period, yet it is my problem, and I have to spend even more money to fix it. What good is a two-year warranty if Tire Rack can't replace it within the two years?

If you're looking for a company that stands by the product they sell do not buy here. You're better off getting tires at your local tire shop. 4 out of 6 tires failed the road force test. No refunds, they sell "square" tires and throw the responsibly on the manufacturer. Won't make that mistake again.

I have been a Tire Rack customer for over 20 years. Initially it was because I had performance cars, and Tire Rack had by far the best inventory and variety of brands. I probably used them a half a dozen times or more over the 20 years, with no issues. Last week I ordered 4 tires, and Tire Rack recommended a local Tires Plus for the install. What a nightmare! This was my first set of tires, at 5 years, at 47K miles. The Tires plus promised a free alignment check, and I had a coupon for a battery check. The store was dingy. I checked in, verified the Tire Rack tires were there, and made arrangements for the install, alignment and battery check. When I went to pick up my vehicle, they told me that the alignment and battery were fine. Now, I knew the alignment was not “fine”. The car had 5 years and 47K miles!

I asked for the alignment printout, as the tire warranty explicitly states that proof of alignment, or alignment check is required. They had no printout. They said their printer has been broken for one and a half years! They also had no printout for the battery check. As anyone knows, if you can’t document it, it wasn’t done! So I took my vehicle to a non tire repair shop for an alignment and battery check. I got printouts on both. The alignment was out and needed adjustment. The battery was barely able to hold a charge! The new shop made a $350 sale. So I sign on to Tire Rack chat, to let them know of my experience. Mainly so they can quit recommending this shop, and disappointing their customers. Instead, I got some person on chat with a horrible attitude, who immediately went to work defending the shop! He stated alignments and batteries were not their concern on this sale!

Their only concern was the tires. Apparently horrible customer service from their installers is just fine with them. I saw no point in trying to explain further to this individual that the installer was the face of Tire Rack, and my only concern at this point was to let others know to avoid this shop, because it was apparent Tire Rack did not care. I will never use Tire Rack again after this experience. I wanted to let Tire Rack know an installer was damaging their reputation. They completely missed the point, or don’t care. Hard to understand. I just read other reviews, and it is clear that the purchase of Tire Rack by Discount Tire has completely changed the company culture, from excellent to awful.

I called the customer service and asked for explanation. They said the order was canceled because I did not respond to their voice message which they sent to verify the order. I did not get this message, and the usual means of communication are EMAIL or TEXT MESSAGES. None of these was sent to me. They made no excuse, though I lost time and there was no Black Friday offer available anymore. I would never buy from them. They make you LOSE your time, wait and not get anything, and then you will have to deal with long calls at your expense to get clarifications.. With the only result you wasted time, lost the deal, have no tires. Never again.

Bought Michelin tires in February from Tire Rack. Was referred to local Monro Muffler for installation (partner). Almost immediately, I started having issues with tire pressure. Tires won't hold pressure. Went back once or twice, couldn't get waited on. Issue continues to persist. So I call Tire Rack to tell them I am having issues. They REFUSE to stand behind the install, refuse to look into it any further. Instead they tell me it is my TPMS, issue, take it to the dealer. It could as simple as the valve stems were not replaced. But they choose to wash their hands of it and tell me to pound sand. I should have bought from the military exchange instead of these folks. At least AAFES won't take advantage of service members.

Beware the age of the tires they’re passing off as ‘new’! All tires (regardless of whether or not they’re stored or mounted) begin to degrade right out of the mold. Most reputable dealers will tell you tires should not be used after 6 years due to the rubber degrading making them a potential hazard. There’s a manufacturers date on every tire (shown as week/year) that indicates when the tire was manufactured. I recently chatted with a TireRac sales agent (online) about a set of tires only to find out they were close to 2 years old (being sold as ‘new’). So while the tire may be fine, you’ve essentially lost 2 years of usage from the tire. Absent regulation to keep that business practice from occurring, it's buyer beware. I’ve always checked the manufacturer's date on any tire I’ve purchased and have NEVER had a retailer selling 2 year old rubber as ‘new’. Not ethical

I have had horrible eperience with tire rack, I have a screw on the outside wall of my tire and is unable to be fixed. I went online and after 2 days of fighting with tire rack to even find my tires that I ordered because they were not in the orders. When I finally was able to pull up my tires and pull road hazard on my tire, it wants me to buy a new tire and give them the invoice... Are you serious. Who has an EXTRA 190.00 to buy a new tire when there is a road hazard warranty. I am unable to use my truck that I have for going to and from work as well as taking my children to school.

When calling Tire rack they are very unprofessional. I did a full look through of the road hazard warranty and at no point did the hazard state that I would have to purchase a new tire and what Tire rack will give me 70.00 back for the tire???? If I had an EXTRA 190 I would not even worry about tire rack because of the horrible hassle it is to have any service for tires that I purchased from them... at a VERY HIGH PRICE... I WILL NEVER BUY FROM TIRE RACK AGAIN. I would rather pay 100.00 or more extra at GOODYEAR or DISCOUNT TIRE to get better service and not have to worry about the hassle, they would replace my tire with no problems.... I purchased 4 very expensive extreme performance tires. I had read the road hazard fine print, and felt good about the service. (It did seem too good to be true). Well one got an irreparable hold in the sidewall. I called and asked about the process. I wanted to do everything correctly. They made it seem so simple and easy. The representative told me "To take pictures, save receipts, and get it fixed or replaced. Then you file the claim afterwards." They made me so mad. I did just as they said, and then they said that I must "get the claim approved first before fixing or replacing the tire".

Getting the claim approved is not a simple one day process. If you drive your car and need it day-to-day, it is difficult to adhere to those guidelines. Plus their first representative told me something completely different. I sent in pics, and got it denied. Some of the last customer service agents I spoke with, were not seeing history of that first phone call. They were using all of the other phone calls against me, where they said, "You must fix it after official approval." They had records of those. They finally in the end said, "They would honor it this time, but next time wouldn't, and I must get the claim approved first". This sat bad with me. While I'm happy I was compensated, it was a lot of work and stress to battle Tire Rack. Their first representative lied to me. I won't ever buy 4 tires from them again.

I purchased 2 tires from TireRack.com in January 2021. In October 2022 I had to have them replaced because the tread was coming loose and showing wires. I submitted a claim to have them replaced because I was forced to get new tires. They denied both claims (2 tires) saying they didn't meet the requirements of my contract--the tires were just worn. This was after getting several emails from them saying they were not able to open the pictures I sent to them and to go to the portal to upload all of the documentation. (The portal didn't work most of the time either)- I had uploaded this information about 5 times, and had made numerous attempts other than that. Then after getting one of those emails I immediately get one saying they had denied my claim because they were just worn. How do they know if they couldn't open the pictures??? I am calling **.

Tires should not be worn out, losing tread and showing wires in less than 2 years with normal driving and proper inflation. I think they probably deny most of the claims that come through. They were Goodyear tires. The guy who put on my new tires said he worked for Goodyear for a long time before he left and said they received more complaints about Goodyear tires than any other tires. I would absolutely NOT recommend this place to anyone ever. And to top it off, I got a text saying one of the claims was approved only for them to turn around and tell me that it was "accidentally" approved-it really wasn't because they couldn't open the documents. I purchased a set of Stoptech crossed drilled rotors from Tire Rack for my 1999 Miata. Unfortunately, the new rear rotors make a loud scraping noise every time I apply the brakes. I took the car to two independent mechanic shops and both said everything looks fine, so either the pads or the rotors were defective. I narrowed down the issue by swapping out the pads, but the noise remains. Then I swapped out the rotors, and the noise disappeared. The problem was with the new rotors.

To my disappointment, Tire Rack customer service was of no help and tried to blame it on overheating issue and refused to do an exchange or refund. Even though the noise was present at 0 miles and 500 miles, before bedding and after bedding, made no difference in the noise at all. They tried to blame it on the pads being glazed, but the same pads on different rotors worked perfectly. After asking more questions, they became non-responsive.

Although, I lost about $140 on this bad purchase, Tire Rack has lost a long-time customer. I will never purchase anything from Tire Rack again since they don't stand by the products they sell. Stay clear from Tire Rack. They are dishonest and don't honor their guarantees. You know, when you're looking for tires, and you're thinking, hey, you know what that "two-year road hazard included" sounds good. Guess what. TireRack doesn't honor it. Here's my story. Short story: DO NOT buy from TireRack. Stay away at all costs. Longer story: I bought 4 tires in 2019 for $1,069.88 from TireRack, then another 4 245/45R18 Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Run Flat MO Run Flats in 2021 for $1,125.18. All the time, I thought, "you know what? It's comforting to know that in case something happens to these tires, they're covered." Well, after running TireRack tires for 3-years, something did happen. One of the tires blew out while on the highway. Yes, I was safe. Yes, it wasn't cool.

About the time I was thinking bummer, I need to get new tires now, I thought, "Hey, wait, I had the "two-year road hazard included." So, awesome, I'll give TireRack a quick call and have a credit to buy new tires. Well, not so fast. I called TireRack. Apparently, they don't handle those claims. They contracted this out to **. Okay, no problem, find their website and submit the claim. I follow up. Nothing. I follow up again, nothing. Four months later, I get a cryptic reply that I need the TireRack receipt for the tires and the install receipt for the tires. I emailed ASAP Tire, who emailed me the invoice within minutes, which I forward to ** to complete my claim. Now they say they don't have enough paperwork. Hey, there is no more paperwork. First, 100% of this transaction was done through TireRack; second, I forward the paperwork 3x over 4 months.

Bottom line TireRack, hiding behind ** doesn't honor their "two-year road hazard included." If you care about your car and are familiar with running on tires you feel are protected, you won't find them at TireRack. Don't waste your time as I did, preserve your time and family's safety, and go with a company that cares about their customers and the safety of their customers—and that my friend isn't TireRack.

First time I purchased tires online, was apprehensive at first. Great selection at Tire Rack, good info and a breeze to make the purchase. Tires for my 2017 Silverado arrived at the selected installer within a day. That is where the issues started. It took a week to get an appointment at the Tire Kingdom in Englewood. FL. I was actually a little early for my scheduled appointment, service manager gave my key to a tech right away, no wait. I was surprised most of the time I was there the shop was a bit slow. Just not as slow as the service I got from Tire Kingdom. Almost made me think I was being punished for not buying the tires from them.

So replace 4 tires, tps service, balance and align took THREE AND A HALF HOURS! The only amount of time the truck was not in a bay was about 10 minutes to get in for alignment. That amount of time with an appointment and a slower time was brutal. So Tire Rack you did what you were supposed to do, fantastic. Tire Kingdom you really dropped the ball! Buy from Tire Rack, get installed somewhere else.

In addition to inputting my year make and model the site gave me many options to choose from. The filter parameters allowed me to search the size, width, color etc... to find the ones I ultimately bought. Also, the price was very reasonable and in my budget. I shopped many other website for a rim that would fit for my vehicle and Tire Rack had the best price. I was going to go with the tires they selected but went with buying outside the site for tires and will do installation at my local place too. Luckily, the rims came very fast in the mail and they look fantastic! I am waiting for some other minor things to arrive in the mail before I mount balance and install but overall I am very happy.

I needed new tires for my 2016 Toyota 4Runner after needing to be fished out of a ditch after our first snow. Purchase through Tire Rack's website couldn't have been easier. I was able to search based on my vehicle and answer some questions for guidance on the correct size. I've driven past their facility in South Bend a couple of times, and did not know that they offered installation services as well. I decided to give that a try too. I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of installation dates and times, and especially liked that I could schedule it all online.

Once I arrived at the facility, I was able to locate the installation area quickly and easily due to great signage. I parked in a spot, called their service phone number (signs posted in the parking area), and spoke with a great guy who explained the process to me. Very easy - they text you your spot in line and then when they are ready for you. You'll pull into their service area into the bay number in the text. I was then met by a service technician who explained that it would probably take about an hour for installation, which is what I expected. I then waited and it took a little bit less than an hour. The technician also let me know that my tire pressure light had come on, which I knew, but thought it was a bad sensor. He let me know that there's a sensor also on my spare tire, which I had no idea. He was kind enough to put some air in that one too so the light went out.

This was my first time at Tire Rack and first time using any of their services. I have already recommended them to family members and will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in the future. I had a great experience, the tires were reasonably priced, and so was installation. When needed in the future, I'll definitely be back!

While the tire prices are good, do not purchase the warranty/road hazard. I bought a set of brand-name tires along with the warranty. One tire developed a bubble on the side of the tire. I took it to a shop that carried the same brand and was told I had to call Tire Rack. I did and was told I had to ship the tire back and if they agreed it was something covered under warranty, they would issue a refund. That means I needed to buy a new tire and then wait for Tire Rack to determine if it was defective of not. What I needed was it fixed or replaced, not having to ship it back and wait for a determination. We should be able to take a defective tire somewhere and have someone look at it and determine if it's defective or not and be able to take care of it then and there. What a waste of money.

At first, getting ahold of the company was difficult. But I must be honest in my review, I did get ahold of them and they provided a solution. I had to find a local service provider to get the tires balanced, and they reimbursed the cost. While they did remedy the issue, there is still the fact that the tires were balanced very poorly before sending them to me, and there was the hassle factor. I did save money, but it was a slight hassle. Tire Rack gets credit for making it right.

    Original Review: Dec. 2, 2020

Selecting and ordering a tire/wheel package complete with mounting, balancing, and TPMS was easy. The problem is when something does not go right. I will only buy tires from a local dealer in the future. We have a shake shimmy in one of the wheels/tires. Getting it addressed is difficult. I need to find a shop and put out the expense to find the problem, then get it reimbursed up to a limit of $25.00. After that we’ll see if they need to be sent back or the problem is resolved. The bottom line is that had I bought local, I would have service and support. Saving a few dollars from an internet merchant is starting to look like a bad idea sometimes.

I ordered and had these installed with ASAP TIRE. They showed up early in a van with everything they needed. An hour later tires installed at my home. Easiest thing I’ve ever done and no time wasted. After doing the research I decided to do this and after comparing prices it was the same price as going to a store. But it saved me the hassle of sales guys over selling me on tires.

I have purchased tires from Tire Rack for many years for a variety of vehicles: Dodge and Ford vans; Nissan 300ZX; Audi A4. I first learned of their services through my son who was buying tires for his Pontiac Firebird. The biggest advantage here is in the variety of tires available and you're not restricted to the 4 - 6 brands and options you'd have to select from at a local dealer. Nor are you forced to change tire models because the local shop doesn't have the match for your current tires.

All the tires I have bought have been top quality, recent production tires. Tire Rack offers all the current marketing discounts like rebates and I've been able to use one of those for my van tires. My most recent purchase of 2 BF Goodrich tires for my Audi A4 Cabriolet arrived in 48 hours! You can't ask for better than that with free shipping! I have a shop a mile from my house that has an agreement with Tire Rack for mounting so that's a flat fee and there has never been any hesitation with that business for mounting tires I have bought outside their shop.

Buying from Tire Rack does put a little responsibility for knowing a bit about tires in general but the website provides the necessary information and comparisons. I tend to buy tires over-rated for my vehicles as I've found that provides better traction, and sometimes longer life. When I first ordered the Goodrich tires for the A4, Tire Rack called to confirm my tire selection. The size matched approved tires for the car but they wanted to confirm the higher rating, so they are not selling tires blindly, and take a moment to make sure things match up. At this point I would be rather upset to be forced to buy a local tire in an emergency instead of using my trusted source, Tire Rack.

Needed new tires for my 2017 Hyundai Elantra and came across TireRack through Google searches. I decided to go with the Firestone Weathergrip because I wanted a good all season radial that was also good with different driving scenarios, highway, light snow/rain, mountains etc. Ordered 4 of the 195/65/R15 size. The TireRack website gave me 2 size options for my vehicle and I confirmed which size I had before placing the order. I used Affirm financing for my payment method and had the tires sent directly to a local NTB. I placed the order on a Sunday and was given a delivery date of Wednesday. I called NTB to let them know about my order and made an appointment with them on Thursday to have the Tires installed.

TireRack sent me a order confirmation email, another email after the tires were shipped via UPS from Delaware on Tuesday and another email when they were delivered to NTB on Wednesday. When I arrived at NTB for my appointment on Thursday the Tires were there, they were the Firestone Weathergrip just as I had ordered and they were the correct size. The installation cost that I was quoted by the TireRack website was in line with what NTB actually charged. I had to take a 500 mile road trip to Elkins West Virginia that following Sunday and wanted the tires on before then. Down the highway, over the hills and through the mountains so far so good.

As of this review I've put just 600 miles on the tires in various conditions with no issues. They came with 2 year road Hazzard protection that I haven't had to use yet so I can't comment on that. Firestone offered a $60 rebate with the submission of my TireRack invoice which I received [the invoice] via regular mail in just a week. I never spoke to a live person with TireRack. Keep in mind that many (most?) TireRack.com customers are not thinking about writing a review after we get our tires.

Every time I've ordered a tire that was in stock over 10+ years (starting in the early 2000's), I've received it. It was Saturday so they said delivery would start Monday (from Delaware) and it would arrive at the tire shop on Wednesday. FREE shipping. And it did arrive, via UPS Ground, at 2pm Wednesday and by 3pm I was on my way.

The Tirerack sales person on the phone was very good, explaining several important aspects about snow tires, including quick wear in warm weather. He offered to answer questions but I did not have any. They offer an extra tire warranty free, but that does not apply to vehicles from Canada; would be nice though, if I lived in the US. I never ever heard of any company making you buy more product in order to get return. Very unprofessional. The second answer was just send it back on your own expense which is what I did. Now tires stuck in the custom because it needs proper paperwork from tire rack which tire rack not on the rush to provide.

Expecting all tires to arrive on time, made an install appointment, but to my surprise, only two tires arrived. Called TR customer service, had to wait all day for an answer, and finally without any apologies was told the tires did not get shipped. This is the definition of poor customer service. Apparently, TR hires a bunch of employees that could care less. Although TR prices are a little less than others, I'd rather pay a little more to be treated with respect. TR is not worth the hassle.

I'm not reviewing tires, since I would go to a tire sales site for that. Recently purchased my second complete set of tires from Tire Rack. First set was just tires which were sent to a local service station that I use regularly. They did not have any tires with the features and strong reviews I was looking for. Other local places either wouldn't quote what I wanted or didn't want to work with a tire that wasn't part of their regular rotation.

The tires also weren't the OEM size but two different installers said that if the tire width and/or diameter were within certain ranges they would have no issue. Information on the Tire Rack website allowed me to calculate the differences and determine that it was a safe installation. Ordered the tires and they were delivered within two days. We are relatively close to their Indiana distribution and there was no warning of low inventory on their site. The installation had no surprises and proceeded exactly as Tire Rack specified. Of course, I was dealing with local people that I am a repeat customer of.

Second recent replacement set, on a different vehicle, was a complete wheel/tire/TPMS set. Old steel wheels were rusting and bent and tires hard and lumpy. TPMS was years past the expected life of the batteries so it made sense to replace all. Paid for the mounting and balancing and had the tires delivered to my work so they didn't sit outside my garage door for the day. Paying for the complete package got me mounted/balanced/TPMS installed. Centering rings were installed in the wheels and held in place so they didn't come loose in shipping. One wheel also had a package inside that had the new lugs and a very good quality socket and Gorilla brand extension wrench for installing. Since I already have a Gorilla kit, I can keep this compact wrench and socket with the truck.

I haven't had to deal with any warranty or road hazard claims with Tire Rack. That is why I said the product/department I was reviewing was "Online Sales". That is my only concern with online purchases, but the local guys either weren't helpful or didn't want to order tires that weren't their brands. I had the luxury of time to do lots of research. Tire Rack did not have all the information I needed, but they do have more than any other single site.

Sadly my experience with Tire Rack went south rather quickly when I got a piece of metal stuck in my tire. BEWARE of the “free” road hazard warranty they offer. There is a reason it is free. I was told by Firestone, the recommended installer that my tire was not repairable so I called Tire Rack. Imagine my surprise when I was told I would have to purchase another tire and get reimbursed. A local tire shop would have just replaced it, boom, done. Imagine my further surprise when I was told that my tire was out of season and I would have to go search for one myself, buy it, then get reimbursed the amount I paid at Tire Rack regardless of what the tire cost me. Imagine my further surprise when I couldn’t find a tire and was offered NO solution by Tire Rack. Bottom line, the little savings you get from buying from Tire Rack IS NOT WORTH IT. Go to your local tire store and save yourself a HUGE HEADACHE.

OnTrac showed tires arrived in the delivery city twice, but for some reason were sent back to "corporate" both times. They were chrome and black. Obviously we had to unbox one wheel to find that out. When I called them back they said they would send me a call tag to pick them up. That no freight would be charged. Their mistake. Ok. Rims were picked up. We boxed up the one we opened. Everything was fine.

A week goes by we don't hear from them. I have my assistant call them to find out where our credit was go to find out they charged me freight and for the wheel we opened that never came out of the box. The original bill was 1,100.00. Our credit was 570.00 and we never heard from them or nothing. No pictures no proof it was damaged so if we wouldn't have called we would have never heard from them. Worst tire buying experience ever! I bought a set of four winter tires on 11/08/19 that were “available” when I added them to my cart, I purchased within 10 minutes and noticed the availability had changed to the 16th. I was okay with that as I figured someone else had made their purchase before I completed mine so I waited until the 16th just to the date was pushed back again to the 22nd. I sent customer service a message trying to find out why and was told the manufacturer was about a week behind. I decided I could wait until the 22nd since the weather wasn’t bad but once again when I checked back the date had changed to the 28th. I finally received my tires on 12/03/19 just to find out that the tires they sent are a bad fit for my car even though they recommended the size and guaranteed a good fit.

I do not recommend buying through this company, they sell products they don’t actually have, their tire buying guide and recommendations are very inaccurate. I just wish I had looked at their reviews before I bought through them, very few good reviews and thousands of bad reviews with mostly the same issues, defective products, wrong products recommended or sent and slow, lost or no shipping. I would have left zero or negative stars if allowed. Terrible company that should be put out of business.

It's December 6, 2019 still calling Tire Rack 3 and 4 times a day being placed on hold for 20 minutes at a time. Told three times to drive to a UPS facility to pick up the tire. UPS continually states it is a sorting facility. No one at Tire Rack cares, and continues to make the same statement. Now UPS says the tire is lost. Told by UPS to "Make a claim".

This is not my problem, it's Tire Racks problem. Return money from lost order and resend the tire overnight!! Their phone prompt tells you they will be recording you in order to provide you EXCELLENT service. I work with one of the largest retailers in the country everyday. We do not treat customers so poorly and say we are offering excellent service. Shameful at best. Buy your tires locally. They are not necessarily cheaper at Tire Rack anyway. The tires and wheels were good. The wheels were on backorder for weeks, but finally arrived. At the same time, I purchased four sensors to replace the ones I had that were old, but working fine. At their recommendation. After a week, the sensors were throwing a code. My car doesn't have any diagnostics for sensors, just that they were throwing a warning and the tire pressure was fine. I called and the representative said it was my mistake because I didn't program them. No, it was a defective sensor. I gave up trying to get anywhere with them, they were rude and condescending over a 38.00 sensor. (That was defective.)

So, the only place I can get tires for my model vehicle is Tire Rack or Mercedes. So I ordered tires from them. At that time, I mentioned the problem with the sensor again. A young lady there told me to purchase 2 more and while they were putting the tires on, they can check the sensors and replace the defective one (or two). Then, I could return them and get full credit. OK, so the mechanic replaced the defective one and gave the good one and the defective one back. I paid 93.28 for them, and when Tire rack received them they credited me 76.00. When I called the inquire, they said that I was credited the original price, not the price of the new order in that the price went up. I argued that point for obvious reasons, and after again accusing me of not programming them correctly (which is a poor excuse for a defective tire stem) she finally agreed to credit me the difference.

I generally don't take time out to rate even bad service, but this experience was absolutely ridiculous rip off over a few bucks. For me though, it was the principle. Poor poor customer service given to someone who was a returning customer. There is NO excuse for it. Ridiculous. If you can purchase somewhere other than tirerack.com. I would recommend you do. God help me if I have to have warranty work on my wheels or tires.

If you do not really know your way around tire sizing, do not use these people. I ordered tires according to their online sizing program, which gave me "options". They were not clear at all that the options were for different Wheel sizes. When I took my truck into the installer, they told me the wrong size had been sent by Tire Rack and we sent the tires back. I could not wait another week to buy another set of properly sized tires from tire rack and I had the installer put tires on from their own stock. I was charged to 211 dollars return fee by tire rack. For the pleasure of wasting time.

If you do not understand tire sizing very well, go to a tire store and have them tell you what size tires you can order. Do not try to do this online with the tire rack tools unless you know what you are doing. I have tried through three separate methods to contact Tire Rack in regards to a potential sale. I have a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta GLI. This is not a rare car. It was released in early spring of 2019. It is now November 8th 2019. In an attempt to correspond with tire rack I have been told that they have not yet measured for this vehicle and cannot answer any questions. I've been told that they have NO tires or rims available for my car for this reason. Last I checked, tire rack is a company doing close to 1.5 billion dollars a year in annual revenues and employs over 400 people. The fact that they have not valued customer's time to accommodate such a common car is astounding to me.

Regardless of this concern, I took it upon myself to go through my local dealership and a local performance shop to take the measurements to find the appropriate parts necessary to accommodate my vehicle including proper size of hub centric rings and lug bolts. I have placed two separate phone calls, participated in one session on live chat, and have sent one email from 2 days ago that is yet to receive a response. I was greeted with sarcasm on both phone calls and an inability to communicate through live chat. I have yet to receive a response to a very simple question and email.

At this point I have purchased the rims and tires on my own but everyone I speak to uses tire rack as the main resource for information regarding O.Z. Racing products in the United States. I ended up contacting O.Z. directly to find the proper size lug bolts to which Tire Rack said they have no ability to supply. I'm extremely disappointed and urge you to do better tire rack. This review is only in regards to the sales team and product knowledge of tire rack. Order fulfillment and shipping times have been exceptional in the past. My overall review of tire rack would be 3 stars but the one star rating is in regards to the sales team only.

I bought snow tires and wheels from Tire Rack for my Kia Stinger GT2 and had them shipped to the only tire shop in town, Firestone. I already wasn't happy about going through Firestone because they're the worst-rated tire shop in town, so I paid the extra to have Tire Rack mount and balance the tires on the wheels before they shipped them. Firestone told me at the time that the tires were stretched over wheels that were too wide, and I was likely to see damage very quickly because there was no tire to soak up any bumps; the rim would just hit the pavement directly. They recommended I return the tires and buy from Firestone directly. Because of their reputation I disregarded their advice, assuming Tire Rack wouldn't send me faulty product.

Fast forward 300 miles and three of the four wheels are damaged and there are bubbles in the tire sidewalls. I had to take the car back to Firestone to have my summer wheels/tires put back on. Firestone told me to submit a claim with Tire Rack and they'd exchange them as it's obviously their fault. I called Tire Rack and they claim that what Firestone says is impossible, that what they're describing could not have happened, and it must be my own fault. As a result, the wheels are not covered, and only the tires without bead damage will be covered under road hazard.

I've been driving for nearly 20 years, have put dozens of sets of tires on many different cars, and have never experienced anything like this before. The only time I ever damaged a wheel was very obviously my own fault. I definitely did not hit any bumps (or at the kind of speed) that would cause the kind of issue Tire Rack claims is my own doing. I am going to have to eat the $1700 I spent on wheels and tires that I didn't even get to use for a full season. I will definitely never buy anything from Tire Rack again.

The first time I ordered from them I was ordering 2 tires; Yokohama Avid Envigors was what I ordered (I picked them out based off my years of experience working on cars and I know from what I've seen if it's good for autocross it'll be great on the street and these tires don't disappoint). I placed the order online and was told they'd be at the shop in 3 days. Well day 2 comes and I get a weird email that didn't explain anything so I called them. After I gave the order number the first thing the guy told me is HE thought I was ordering the wrong tires for my car; and I should buy some basic butt Goodyear's and then tells me I ordered the wrong size; I should've gotten 17 inch size.

First off the 17 in size THEY wanted me to buy is incorrect; 17 was an optional size and the car is equipped with the original 16 inch from the factory by default (seriously look up tires for an 02 Bonneville) secondly who are you to tell me what kinda tires I should be running? I picked those Yokohama's because I need something that grips extra good in the wet; something your basic Goodyear isn't gonna compete with. But they did have the money on my card tied up for a week with the cancellation process.

So fast forward a year and I need brakes. I already had some StopTech (formerly power slot brand) slotted rotors and pads on the front and they've performed incredibly for 90k miles, and I wanted to get another set. Well Tire Rack made ordering easy; but that was it. I even placed my order over the phone with a live person; everything went smoothly; then 6 hours later I get some email from them asking for a wire transfer AND a money order like some African prince trying to cash a million dollar check scheme (Anyone remember the 90's?).

So I call my bank; they already gave them the money. So I call Tire Rack and ask WTF? They gave me a seriously BS line and the girl on the phone had the gall to say that "we can't verify your identity; so we took payment and are holding the payment and parts until we receive ANOTHER payment in the form of wire transfer, cash or money order." These people are seriously up to no good is the only logical explanation I can figure. So I've cancelled the order and am disputing the charges through my bank. I purchased four Goodyear Duratrac tires on mounted on new rims for a 2011 Ram truck. In barely more than 2 years they developed cracks on the sides of the tires. One tire went flat while driving leaving me stranded. Initially, Tire Rack was very helpful in advising me to take pictures of the weather cracking. I removed the tire, had it inspected by several dealers, and took numerous pictures of the weather cracking of the sidewall near the tread where the tire failed.

After submitting the evidence the customer affairs representative informed me her team was sure it was due to an object in the road. Clearly, the tiny cracks along the sidewall were not caused by an external object. I am now being forced to litigate to recover my loss. A local attorney researching the matter informed me Goodyear changed their chemical mix a few years ago thus causing numerous early aging problems in high-altitude locations. Tire Rack is likely aware of the problem but instead relying on deception and bullying of customers to avoid liability.

On October 31, 2018 I ordered (TR #**) a Bridgestone Tire and wheel package to be delivered to TR's recommended installer VIP Tire & Service in Windham ME. On Nov. 8th VIP installed the premounted wheels and tires. On leaving VIP there was a grinding noise coming from the left front tire. Returning to VIP they determined that one of the wheels was out of round and rubbing against the caliper. On calling TR they said they would have a replacement wheel delivered in 4 days. I couldn't go without the car for 4 days and I didn't want to remount my summer tires as I was going to VT that weekend where they had a foot of snow. I told TR I was going to take their snow tires off the wheels and remount them on my OEM wheels.

TR agreed and said they would send the paperwork to VIP to return the wheels and tire pressure sensors. VIP was excellent, they took the wheels off the car, removed the tires, remounted them on my OEM wheels, balanced the tires and reset the TPM's charging a very reasonable $80 (VIP reference #**). Since The Tire Rack said they would deliver the wheel package with tires mounted, balanced and with tire pressure monitors I assumed they would reimburse me for the $80. Not a chance, calls were referred to a supervisor who wasn't there but would call back and did not return the call. It won't happen again because I'll only do business with a local reputable tire dealer.

I purchased the tire 18 inches from this company. The first issue was that automotive shop was surprised at their irresponsible action, because they let their affiliate shipping company (UPS) leave the expensive tires at the door all weekends. I don’t know who will be responsible if something steal it. The main issue was I had to exchange the tires to 19 inches one because I made a mistake on order. I called the customer service and asked them to return and exchange. They shipped the correct size tires and set up UPS pick up for return item. The customer service clearly told me that return procedure should be quick and they are responsible for picking up the items.

However, I haven’t heard from them and gotten refund for 2 weeks. They never provided the tracking number and they just charged both return and exchange items twice. I called the customer service and complained about it. They said the return item is missing and they cannot track it. They don’t even explain about what happened, like what is the UPS tracking number, why they cannot track, where are my return tires gone. Customer service lady is extremely rude and emotional and never let me finish talking and hanged up the phone without any explanation and never called me back. Missing items by their shipping company is absolutely NOT my responsibility and I am not even sure if they really didn’t receive the return items or not. I don’t recommend this irresponsible company.

After all is said and done we then receive an email stating they will only replace the tire for the cost spent through them and not the one we got, even though it is the EXACT same tire. I called the helpline to ask why they wouldn't cover the entire cost of replacement, especially since it is a warranty job. The response I got from the lady on the phone said and I quote, "We aren't responsible for inflation". Yeah, never getting tires through Tire Rack again.

I purchased 4 Cooper Discoverer Tires and matching rims from Tire Rack. You would not believe the problems they have caused me. One of the rims had weights that was too large to clear the brake caliper but the other three did. I drove about 3 miles and noticed the noise from my rear driver side wheel. Inspection revealed the oversize weights were scrubbing the brake caliper and one of the taped on weights mounted inside the rim had rubbed off. I contacted (Pam) at customer service and explained the problem. She asked that I take a picture of the problem and email them to her. Well, I had to remove the mounted wheel to make the pictures and one of the lug nuts had seized to the wheel stud. The stud broke off. This is only the beginning!

My truck is Chevy 2500. To remove the broken stud meant I had to completely disassemble the brake caliper, remove the axle, replace the stud, buy new seals, buy a set of star bits, buy a new stud, buy a axle nut wrench, buy differential fluid to replace some that got out after removing the axle, still have to take the wheel to a local dealer and pay them to rebalance the wheel with the proper size weights and several hours of my time to get to this point. My truck is still immobile because I had to order the axle nut wrench and will not get until next week. I have spent over $150.00 out of my pocket and no response from customer service. This has been a total nightmare for me. Tire Rack takes no responsibility for this disaster. If any recourse is available I will pursue this matter until I am 100 years old!!!

I have been a customer with Tire Rack for approximately 10 years and have purchased 4-5 sets of winter wheel/tire packages from them without problems until now. My most recent purchase within this last month did not go well from the beginning. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. When I went to pick up the wheels 5 days after they arrived at the local TR warehouse, they were not mounted or ready to go. Had to come back a couple days later only for them to show me two of the rims were damaged before mounting them to tires. I coordinated for them to be shipped to my house no charge instead of making a trip 30 miles back to the warehouse. They gave me a half price credit for one of the rims since it was cosmetic which I agreed to and appreciated.

Upon being shipped to my house, one of the tires was almost flat so I filled it up to the proper air pressure and mounted it on my vehicle only to see it repeatedly lose air every day over the next 3 days. I emailed TR on a Friday hoping to get a response on Saturday, to no avail. I called 3 times during the day on Saturday and waited on hold all 3 times (5-10 minutes) without being able to talk to anybody. Finally I gave up and now have to figure out why a brand new mounted tire won't maintain air. I'm sure it is likely something simple, but nonetheless frustrating having to deal with the hassle during my busy work schedule to get it fixed. It appears to me that TireRack's once good name and good deal is falling apart due to poor quality control and customer service. I am very disappointed and will more than likely look elsewhere next time I purchase winter wheels/tires.

I called Tire Rack and told them selling 3 year old tires was unacceptable, that they should have disclosed the age of the tires, at the time I purchased the tires... They then tried to say the tires are stored in a climate controlled warehouse, saying it was no big deal. Long story short, I told them to take the tires back and to credit me for the total amount I paid, including the mounting fee, and dis-mounting fee. My analogy, if you buy a 2018 car, and the dealer delivers a 2015 car, saying it has been stored in a climate controlled warehouse, it's fraud. I'll never do business with Tire Rack again.

About 2 hours later I got a callback, "Sorry but we cannot approve warranty due to tread punctures from road hazards." Sorry but I won't buy from Tirerack.com nor will I buy that brand of tire again. If I did buy cheaper tires and the manufacturing of the rubber failed before the tread wore out that is a warranty claim. But to not honor the claim based on other road punctures is crap. Tire Rack was not the cheapest on the tires or wheels but I thought it would be convenient for it to arrive at my house all mounted and balanced.

When I was informed via email my wheels were on back order I was offered to swap out to other in stock wheels. After three emails going backing and forth between Jim ** and myself, I called and left a message for him to call me. I never got that return call but I did get an email where my order shipped with a wheel that was in stock that I did not approve! Worse yet, the wheels and tires were mounted without TPMS sensors that my truck requires and I ordered.

Businesses make mistakes but how they handle them is where the rubber meets the road. Tire Rack couldn’t have been more ambivalent to the mistake they made. It was basically my problem that the order was placed for wheels I didn’t approve and their solution to the TPMS problem was to offer a discount on the sensors and take a day off to have the newly mounted tires dismounted so sensors could be properly installed. I will never do business with Tire Rack again and will do my very best to make others aware of their lackluster business practices. First negative review I have ever had to do on a business. If you've ever had a tire that didn't live up to it's warranty, you know that they make it pretty difficult to get the money they owe you. Now imagine if the retailer you bought it from was online? You would think they would have to have things in place to make warranty's easy to handle... but if you thought that you'd be wrong! I bought some General Tires that barely made it past 50% of their warranty. In my 34 years of driving, that would be about the WORST a tire has ever performed. When I looked at my tire rack order, they directed me to call General Tires, and General Tires directed me to a local dealer. When I called the local dealer, they told me that they would only warranty tires purchased through them. So I called Tire Rack.

Now Tire Rack assured me that they would honor the warranty. And at first I was happy... until they told me that the "free" shipping of the defective tires would cost me $7 per tire. Then, they told me that if I didn't buy the replacement tires through them, the shipping would NOT be free (and would likely cost me more than they would give me for the warranty!). As far as I'm concerned, if I don't get the money, there is NO warranty. Requiring me to purchase the new tires through them to actually get the money I'm due is ridiculous.

First, the defective tires are down to 1/32", which means they need to be replaced right away. Tire Rack's shipping could take a week, and it could take another week to get the tires mounted and balanced. Meanwhile, I'm driving around on the old tires diminishing the amount of money I'll get from the warranty (because it will be based upon the mileage when they are removed, not the mileage when I discovered that they were defective.) The bottom line? Don't buy tires from TireRack.com. I just did a price comparison, and my local tire vendor actually has BETTER prices on the same tires. And guess what? They'll stand behind the products they sell, and it won't take weeks for installation. If you own TireRack.com stock. Sell!

Here's what I know about TR: the quality of what I ordered is on par with what I paid and the service was just fine. I'm happy with my purchase from Tire Rack. I decided to write this simply because the reviews I'm finding online do not align with my experience. I worked in service for many years, and found people tend to share opinions more easily when they feel slighted or ripped off (even when, in reality, they just wanted special treatment and didn't get it). I placed my order on the Friday before Memorial Day, a holiday weekend. On Saturday, I got a call from a friendly rep saying the wheels were back ordered until August. Well, no one orders tires two months before they need them, so I decided on a replacement set and confirmed the change order. They were shipped on Tuesday, and delivered on Thursday. Worth noting this would have been much quicker had I not ordered on a holiday weekend.

I inspected each tire and wheel for visible dents, bends, warping, and bulges and found none. The counterweights are pretty minimal (0.5-1.0 oz) discretely attached to the inner circumference of the rim. No vibration or anything on PA highways (70+ mph). Very quiet, too. The reason I'm giving four stars and not five is simple: the wheel set I initially ordered was a fantastic deal and it turned out to be back ordered for two months. I find it hard to believe that a national eCommerce retailer doesn't have sufficient inventory management logistics to say on the website when a part is back ordered.

I understand not every order goes perfectly, especially for such a large retailer, but this is a common criticism of Tire Rack and felt a little disingenuous to me. To reiterate, I'm satisfied with this purchase. For under $1000, I got decent wheels and premium summer tires mounted, balanced, and delivered to my house. The car looks great and the tires feel excellent. I'd definitely order from them again.

Immediately, I had a vibration, and thought one must be out of balance. I returned to the shop and had them checked and rebalanced. It did not fix the vibration, or wobble, in the wheel. The next week, I went to another shop to have them checked. Four tire shops later, and after a decent amount of time, it kept getting worse... And the tire was developing irregular tread wear.

At first, we thought the actual tire was causing the issue, so I contacted Tire Rack for their recommendations. They requested multiple things, including pictures and tread depth measurements. I provided the requested materials, which resulted in no further help. Finally, one shop (Walmart) called me out to watch the wheel as it rotated on the balancing machine, showing me that there was a bend in the wheel... which was the reason for the wobble/vibration FROM DAY ONE. They explained that this was the reason the tire was wearing “choppy.” The shop recommended not rotating it, leaving it on the rear of the car.

I had already been in contact with Tire Rack, trying to get all the tests done that they requested, as three previous shops had expressed concern with the tire/wheel. I felt like Tire Rack was giving me the runaround, as I tried to accommodate all of their requests… regardless of my extremely busy schedule. I ended up spending more money trying to get the wheel/tire checked out than I would have just repurchasing a new one in the first place. Eventually the representative at Tire Rack stopped responding to my calls and emails after I completed the last requested tests (bare rim runout). I got through to Tire Rack on social media and got a new representative, for them to only ask for more info. and more testing.

Long story short, I purchased a new wheel because the tire had a blowout due to the bouncing on the highway, from the bent wheel. I purchased another wheel in advance and shipped the wheel back to Tire Rack for inspection, so I could get a refund. I receive the email today that Tire Rack will not warranty the wheel because it was “bent from impact.” I ordered them pre-mounted, and it was out-of-round (bent) on the inner barrel toward the inner rim. This part of the wheel is covered by the tire!

I also took plenty of pictures and videos of the wheel rotating of the balancing machine for proof that there had been no impact to the wheel. There were absolutely paint chips, scratches, scuffs, abrasions, or anything of the sort. I have multiple vehicles, and this is not an issue of trying to get something for free. The company shipped me a bad product and would not stand behind it. I will now post this review to social media, as I have spent twice the amount that it would’ve have just buying a new wheel and eating it in the first place. Will never purchase from Tire Rack again, and would not recommend!

*Tire Rack representative called me back, and knows from sitting in her office that there is no possible way that Tire Rack sent out a wheel with any kind of defect. “I could have hit a pothole, and bent a rim, as soon as I pulled out of the parking lot from having them put on the car.” “I should have been an “ADULT” and assumed the bent rim was the issue and filed an immediate complaint, rather than not knowing that much about wheels and tires, and thinking that it was a balancing issue. Wasting my time trying to get it re-balanced. She went on to tell me that there is no way I can prove that it came from the factory bent, therefore… It is not their responsibility.”

I bought a set of tires on sale from Tire Rack with the advertisement stating they were of 2014 production year which makes them a 4-year-old tire and tires have a 5-year expiration date. After purchasing I was sent an email that stated ‘2012 production year’ making them a year expired. I called the customer service and she verified after contacting the warehouse that I would be sent 2014 tires. The next day they were delivered with a DOT from 2011! After calling the same customer service rep she stated that she would take care of the situation and find me the tires and blaming a computer mishap to the advertisement error.

Two days later the best she could find me were 2013 production year tires which already make them expired and still did not comply with their advertisement of 2014 production year tires. She said she could not give me a newer tire and only offered me a refund to my purchase. I am still in shock of how poor the customer service has been after they advertised falsely and would not rectify the error that they made. This has been one week since the original purchase and my initial complaint following the first email and they still have not fixed the ‘error’ in advertising and still have ‘2014 production year’ on the sale item. It is illegal for any reputable tire company to even mount tires over 5 years old and they are selling these dangerous expired tires to people with the false advertisement of a non expired tire. I will never do business with Tire Rack again because of this incident.

I purchased 4 Wheels with 4 TPMS sensors already installed on the wheels, had them shipped to my local installer whom I've felt with for decades and purchased 4 Tires from my installer. The day after installation I had my vehicle towed back to my installer with two flat tires. They took everything apart in front of me and showed me two sensors were leaking from a seal. They showed me they were installed incorrectly and Tire Rack put the rubber seals on in the wrong location when Tire Rack installed the sensors to the wheels.

Tire Rack claimed my local installer should have seen this before installing the tires and I saw in person that there was no way of seeing this without taking everything apart prior to installing the tires to the wheels. After all of this the lady I spoke with at Tire Rack said after the local installer installs the tires there is a piece that apparently breaks away from the sensor after air is added to the tires, that the installer never did properly... BS, I'll never deal with Tire Rack again.

I went on tirerack.com to buy rims. I went through all and clicked thru all the options about my specific truck. I get rims and now they make my tires rub against upper control arm. I contacted Tire Rack. They said my tires are too big. They are the same exact size I have had on there for years. Ridiculous in my opinion. So now I am stuck with the wrong size rims that make my tires rub. That they said would fit my truck which they don't.

I ordered a set of 4 wheels from Tire Rack recently. Their website said that the estimated delivery date was going to be Wednesday, March 21. The package tracking from OnTrac said that they would be delivered by 10:30am. I stayed home from work to receive the delivery, and when it got to the afternoon, I figured I would call OnTrac to figure out what was going on. They said that they had received the package to their San Jose facility a bit late that morning, and so it wasn't going to be delivered that day. I asked them to please deliver it the next day. They assured me it would be delivered the next day by 10:30am. I called Tire Rack, hoping they could do something. They told me the delivery was late and that they would refund half my shipping fees. Ok, well at least it was something. If it had been the end of the story, I would have been happy, and felt that customer service was ok.

Fast forward to today. The package was supposed to arrive by 10:30am. It's now 2pm, and no package. I called OnTrac again, and they have now lost my packages and have no idea where they are. I then called Tire Rack again. The agent I spoke to said that their information is that it's still on the truck, but they can't talk to anyone because their people who deal with this aren't working right now, so they will call me the next day. No resolution, no apology, no offer to make things right. I now have no idea when my wheels are coming, I've wasted 2 days, and am generally appalled at the lack of customer service.
