Came to Mr. Tire for a oil change, courtesy check and tire rotation. They change the oil, never check my fluids, my lights or brakes. Requested that my tires be rotated because the front tires were more weird than the back and they declined. The service stated that I just needed new tires and kept the bad tires on the front. After leaving the shop, I was flagged down and told that my front light was out and my back brake light meaning they never checked anything else but changed my oil and sent me on my way $39 oil change in 14.95 additional charge. The manager kept continually saying, "Well I put the cost of two tires on there."

August 25th 2024. I brought my car in to the 4th St. Massillon, Ohio location to have both drive axles replaced and some other work done. They called later that day when the work was done and I picked up the car. Problem 1 was the price. Their labor rate is $168.00 per hour. But I bought the parts online and they were willing to put them in. But it gets much worse. After 6 days driving the car I noticed that whenever I hit small imperfections in the road the front end wanted to go left or right even though I was holding the wheel straight. That brings me to problem 2. I scheduled a wheel alignment at Midas and when they lifted the car, they found that the front end had loose parts AND missing parts which could have caused a catastrophic accident. I've enclosed pictures.

Midas said they couldn't do the alignment and that it needed to go back to the people who did the work. So back to Mr. Tire I went and after having the car for two days, they repaired their huge mistake and threw in a "free" alignment. But no matter what, plain and simple, they could have killed me and I want all my money back and for others to avoid this place at all cost.

Made an appointment yesterday for a simple oil change and tire rotation—$109 for synthetic oil. Car was taken at 2 PM, and wasn’t ready until 3:30 PM – far too long to wait for an oil change tire/rotation. As I do with every tire rotation I made a chalk mark on the driver's front tire. Before I got in the car to leave I checked, expecting to find the chalk Mark on one of the rear tires. Unfortunately the chalk Mark was on the same driver front tire. I checked the ticket and the tire rotation was clearly marked as having been performed. When I went back to the office to complain, the service people reluctantly told me to have a seat and they would take care of it-like business as usual! I guess most concerning all was their total lack of ownership of putting me through the inconvenience of spending yet more time at their shop. Was it because the store is unethical or just because they run a sloppy operation? Don’t know, but do know I’ll not be back!

Mount Airy, MD - Cannot trust these folks. They are not interested in fixing the issue of concern but want to ALWAYS create additional and un-needed service sales. Needed a slow leak repaired, got a call that they needed to replace the tire as the puncture was in the side wall, it wasn't. Also tried to sell us an additional tire that they said needed to be replaced. Took the car to a reputable local shop and was charged $43.00 to repair the tire in question. Inspection of the other tire showed they were in excellent condition. BEWARE of Mr. Tire.

Southgate, MI Location - I recently had a frustrating experience with Mr Tire and Wheels in Southgate. I bought two used tires on a Friday afternoon, and by Sunday morning, my low tire pressure light came on while driving on the freeway. After work, one of the tires was completely flat with a noticeable hole, which another tire shop discovered. I had to replace both tires as the second one was not the correct size for my car. This mishap cost me $120 and led to unnecessary inconvenience. Be cautious when buying from this shop—ensure tires are shown to you and check their sizes carefully. This experience has unfortunately given Mr Tire and Wheels a bad reputation in my view.

These people will bait and switch. According to some of their overworked staff the management does not care about the customer or the employee. The employees have been asking for necessary equipment for over a year without any reply from managers. They did not even have the ability to charge my battery! I called to make an appointment because my battery would not hold a charge. Mr. Tire now outsources offshore customer service. So I am speaking to someone who enjoys English as a (distant) second language. I ask her how much the battery will cost for my make and model and she tells me $99 with free installation on a Duracell car battery.

I had checked NAPA and they charged $199, Walmart $139. I made the appointment because, in today's economy, you save where you can, when you can. I got to my appointment and described the problem. Car charges almost instantly but will not hold the charge. I was told I was "probably going to need an alternator: by the lady at the desk. It had not even gone back yet. Then she came back to tell me that I was going to have to BUY a BATTERY before they could check diagnostics since it would not start. Again, they had no way to jump my battery to get the car in the bay. I have to BUY a battery BEFORE they can do any testing- which will be a $99 service charge, by the way. I thought this was suspicious and asked how much the battery was going to cost. $236 was the answer I got.

I explained that I was told differently by the offshore CS rep and she laughed and said, "I don't even know where you can get a battery for $99 anymore plus it was "probably the alternator anyway"." At any rate, she told me that she had to deliver a van back to the company and she would be back in 15 minutes and we could figure out then how to get my car charged. So I am waiting, stranded and at her mercy. Since their charging box was stationary and the cables only reached 30 feet they were going to have to push my car into the bay. Poor workers- not cool. Mr. Tire you should be better than that- treat your staff better than that! I offered to walk across the street to Walmart and buy some cables but one of the employees used his car and a small set of cables to get my battery started. So they played bait and switch on battery price.

I have NO DOUBT in my mind that they would have told me that I needed an alternator had I chosen to get work done there. They were setting me up for it the moment I walked in the door. The chain is not well supported by management. They are the "Dollar General" of the auto repair world. Horrible company. Horrible. They are bad to their employees and customers alike.

I am leaving this review of the Mr. Tire on 8621 Baltimore National Pike in Ellicott City, Maryland. I had an appointment for four tires to be mounted on my car. The young lady behind the desk seemed to dislike the fact that I did not buy the tires from their shop. (Although I made it clear when I made the appointment over the phone a week earlier.) She began a lengthy sign-up process, which included leaving the office twice to check something on my car. I thought her attitude toward me was condescending and unprofessional, so I canceled the process and asked her to return my car keys.

She was initially hesitant to hand over the keys, but eventually did after I made it clear that I would not do business with this company. This front-desk employee requires immediate customer service training. Without making an appointment, I went to a different tire installer that same day and had my tires installed quickly. I won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone.

Back in the Summer of 2023, my water pump failed, and I went to Mr. Tire to replace it. In early December 2023, the water pump failed again, and we went back to Mr. Tire to have them fix the issue. [Note: The vehicle moves approximately 1-2 a week; and sits in the driveway for the rest of the time.] Mr. Tire was going to charge us to replace and repair the water pump AGAIN; when, in fact, it was covered underneath their warranty. [Note: Mr. Tire also wanted to add other items and services that were not needed or required. We said “No” to those products and services; and just wanted our water pump repaired/replaced.] I had to call the corporate office to resolve the issue.

Now here’s the kicker, corporate contacts Mr. Tire and determines their warranty covers THEIR part and service; and that we did not have to pay anything. After my conversation with corporate, I contacted Mr. Tire just to make sure that the message by corporate “rang true in their neck of the woods”. Mr. Tire confirmed the water pump and service to repair/replace it was covered underneath THEIR warranty. They [Mr. Tire] then notified me that they were tacking on additional fees due to adding items we NEVER authorized; and that we owed them on or around $400. Upon hearing that notification, I called corporate AGAIN and told them what had occurred.

Corporate had to re-open & re-investigate the issue; and to not make contact with Mr. Tire until their investigation was completed. [Note: My vehicle sat at Mr. Tire for almost a full week at this point; and I had to make contact with corporate, each time, to get a status check. They never called me.] By the end of the week, I called corporate again to get a status check. [Note: It was close to the evening time when I called them.] They [corporate] told me they closed the case that morning and ruled in their favor; and that we needed to pay on or around $400.00 for the [non-authorized] items THEY added on THEIR own accord. Needing to get my vehicle back to do doctors’ appointments for the kids and to run errands for our family Christmas, I ceased my actions in trying to resolve the issue. It was a mute issue at that point.

I ultimately went to Mr. Tire, paid for the NON-AUTHORIZED items, and left the premises. [Note: Nowhere during the entire time did anyone get loud or disrespectful on either Mr. Tire’s end or my family’s end.] We are disappointed though that Mr. Tire would stoop so low as to add on items we did not need or authorize; and, especially during the Christmas timeframe when inflation is on the rise.

Recommendation to Mr. Tire: 1) To actually listen to your so-called “recorded” lines for quality assurance; and to put issues in writing. Not once did I receive anything, in writing, about the case being opened, the status of the case, or that anything was closed on YOUR [corporate]. 2) Call your customers back – If a case is opened, please provide a status update to your customer.

Recommendation to future customers of Mr. Tire: 1) K&A – a) Please know THEY will add items you did not authorize; b) trying to locate the corporate office really took some time, so the website is not friendly. The corporate office is under MONRO. Their address is: 200 Holleder Parkway, Rochester, NY 14615; phone #: 800-876-6676 ext. ** [webpage: https://corporate.monroe.com/contact/]. You WILL be on hold for a long-extended time listening to elevator music; c) corporate will attempt to handle the situation by verbal means only for the customer.

Ask for something in writing! At least try! d) Service is Questionable – After picking up the vehicle, we ran it for approximately 15 minutes, to see if any further issues were identified. The fluid was never cleaned up underneath the water pump area making us question whether they actually repaired/replaced part; e) Integrity is lacking – Do I really need to go further with that one! and f) to go somewhere else if you need auto work done.

I’ve decided I will ALWAYS go to the Mr. Tire in Laurel (there are two- go to the one across from McDonalds). First, they are quick and efficient and I usually don’t have to wait more than an hour. If I call in, they ask for my phone number associated with my account and it’s super quick and easy. The guy at the front desk, Joseph, is amazing. He knows his cars and can try to provide some quick potential diagnoses even when you’re like me and don’t know that much about cars.

My description of the issue was not very knowledgeable (it’s making weird revving noises when I drive between 30-60mph) but he listened and definitely provided some potential fixes. He is a straight shooter too and told me I would need a tune-up soon but gave me a price range and said I didn’t have to do it today but should get it done within a certain time frame. He didn’t try to sell me random unnecessary services nor did he try to make up services and parts that I didn’t actually need- which had been my experience at other shops (including the PepBoys at Laurel). He was also super hospitable and showed me the waiting room and was just really kind and helpful. They got to work on my car right away. I appreciate their speed and efficiency and consideration.

I don’t know why the PepBoys is always so crowded because they are awful. If you live near or get your car serviced in Laurel- seriously, go to the Mr.Tire across from the Laurel Towne Center and ask for Joseph. Obviously, I like that there isn’t always a huge line but I’ll sacrifice waiting a little so more people can get proper and honest service with Joseph at Mr. Tire in Laure instead of PepBoys.

A bit of background on my awful experiences at PepBoys in Laurel and why I hate on them so much- I went to the PepBoys near me regularly because it is so close to my house. However, I keep having multiple bad experiences and will never return. They first took out my cabin air filter and later realized they didn’t have a new one compatible with my car (which is a standard Nissan Versa). They threw out the old one so didn’t replace it and never told me so I drove around with no filter at all for months before realizing. Then, I went again and set up an appointment for the first morning slot so I wouldn’t have to wait. The mechanic was an hour and a half late. Then, they claimed I needed new wiper blades but I had just changed them three days before.

When I told them, they said, “oh yeah, you’re right.” The next day after the oil change, my car began and is still (now months later) making weird noises when I drive between 30-60mph. (This is actually the issue I mentioned above that they fixed at Mr.Tire) Lastly, I made an appointment for an oil change today at 9. They told me they were busy and wouldn’t be able to start service for about 2 hours. I pretty much returned today to ask what they had done to my car last time. I left and went to Mr. Tire and they are awesome and honest and helped me right away. Oh and also- even though there’s a sign for everyone to wear face masks at PepBoys, both employees at the desks were not wearing any!!

These guys installed my new struts all around on my wife’s car back in June 2020. The install was not done correctly and parts remained loose when I got home. I took the car back the same day and they tightened up my lower control arms and said they verified everything else was good to go. Months go by and we keep hearing a noise not expecting it to be my suspension again since they had looked over the car twice (Note: there is no record of Mr. Tire tighten my suspension a second time, as they just did it when I brought it back. So I will come back to why that is also important). For the safety of my family I took the car somewhere else and they determined the noise was from the rear suspension. So I had to have them replaced again in less than a year.

Let’s also consider TRUST. These guys expect customers like myself to have trust in them to work on my car but they had zero trust in me when I told them my rear suspension was loose because then they wouldn’t have to offer a refund and since I was unable to prove it based on a technicality of the other shops minimal notes, I got denied because they couldn’t trust my explanation of loose parts moving around on my vehicle. I love how it’s a one way relationship with companies like this one. Below is a full read of what occurred.

I called Mr. Tire and to no surprise they said they cannot do anything to help me or refund the cost of labor on the rear suspension work they said they completed. So I left my review and customer support contacted me asking for me to call them. So I contacted customer support and explained what happened and what I discovered. The rear suspension was loose and there were rubber shavings near the top mounts. They asked for the paperwork from the other shop and it notes noise from the rear but not specifically loose struts. So from technicality on note taking they denied my refund request on labor for the rear suspension. This very same company whom did not have any notes on my car being brought back the same day is holding onto the fact that it wasn’t clearly noted from the other shop for why there was rattling noises.

Let’s be clear, it would not rattle if the parts were not loose! I think I was being reasonable by asking for only the labor for the rear suspension to be refund due to the lack of them not tightening down my struts. I wanted nothing more than a refund for services never rendered. The customer support and focus on customer safety is horrible and these guys just used a technicality to get out of it when they don’t even document their follow up work. If I could leave a negative review I would and companies that use stupid policies to protect their own hide versus standing by their work really just continues to give automotive shops a bad stigma.

I hope this type of service, stress, and worry these guys gave me and my family never happen to others or even themselves. It’s not worth the money nor the effort dealing with them anymore. Worrying about the safety of your family and trusting people with a vehicle to help keep your family safe on the road was what I had hoped for but sadly they care more about their bottom line than making a customer feel better about a routine job done wrong.

I am highly disappointed in the services that I have recently received from Mr. Tire on Blackwood-Clementon Road in Clementon, NJ. I feel as though Mr. Tire and their staff are liars and thieves. I scheduled an appointment on July 3, 2020, for an oil change and to have my car looked at for concerns of a “shake and vibration” to the steering wheel and tires. The “shake and vibration” occurred mildly or not at all while going under 55 miles per hour; however, when going over 55 miles per hour, the “shake and vibration” was significant and even worse when braking. I was advised by Mr. Tire staff that the “shake and vibration” was due to the need to replace the front brake rotors. Due to the expertise and previous positive experience with them I agreed to have the rotors replaced along with brake pads. When driving off with the car after repair, I did not feel the “shake or vibration” because I was going under 55 miles per hour.

On July 16, 2020, while running some errands, I drove my car on the highway, going over 55 miles per hour my car began to “shake or vibration” again even worse than before. Greatly concerned, I immediately returned my car to Mr. Tire to make them aware of the same problem. I was aware that it was late in the day when I arrived and did not expect my car to be looked at that day and agreed that I would leave my car there for them to look at the next day. I did express my concerns about already paying $325 on July 3rd and that because the first repair did not solve the issue and because they misdiagnosed by car issue that I should not be expected to pay for additional repairs. The staff looked at me strange but stated they would look at the car and let me know what the issue was.

The next day I called and spoke with a different staff to make him aware that I had left my car the day before to have it looked at. The new staff for the day was unfamiliar with what was going on and stated he would investigate what was going on and return a call. After waiting 1 ½ hours I returned a call back and was advised by staff that my car was ready, and they would give me the quote on the repairs completed once I arrive, reporting that the actual issue now was that the wheels needed to be balanced and a weight replaced. I kindly explained to the staff that I should not pay due to the same problem existing and them misdiagnosing my car, strangely the staff did not disagree and advised that I can pick up my car. One, it's strange that if they expected me to pay for the second repair, as well, that they would first give me a quote BEFORE they fix the car?

Once there the staff handed me my keys with no receipt, when I inquired about a receipt he stated I did not need one, I requested a receipt to have proof on what was suppose to be repaired. The staff was discouraging stating I would have to wait 10 minutes or that I could come back in the middle of the week to pick up at a alter time. I disagreed and waited for the receipt. Second, it's strange that they did not want to give me a receipt on the services they provided? Third, my car was in the same spot it had been in when I left it overnight and did not appear to have been moved with my odometer/trip miles remaining the same when I dropped it off the night before. From my observation it appears that Mr. Tire got over on me by charging for services that have not been resolved and lying about it.

Needed to replace two tires on wifes car so I made a appointment. One rear rim had a slight bend in it so I instructed them to make sure it stayed on rear of car. My wife picked up car and ended up with a bill of $280 for two cheaper brand tires with a quote of $173 for tires, mounting, balancing etc. The rim that was supposed to be on rear of car was marked by them indicating RR but they put it on the left front causing the car the vibrate. Took car back and made them correct misplacement of rims on car. They denied everything and said extras were normal. Finally left and on way home checked air pressure monitoring system to find 41psi in LF, 34psi in RF, 35psi in RR and 38psi in LR. Fixed air pressures when I got home. Will NEVER go back there for any reason especially in Morehead City.

On the invoice they stated that they did the following which they claim is included with every visit, checked tire pressure, checked wheel torque, battery check, inspected brakes, courtesy inspection and scheduled maintenance review. Bottom line is they did none of the above except for the oil and filter change. Now I got to wonder what other cuts to service they do and claimed they did it. My car has a check engine light for a P0016. I called and stated, "my car has a check engine light". He said, "what’s the issue," and I told him, “My car isn’t accelerating quickly, reduced fuel economy and it stalled one time on startup. I need you to fix the code.” I brought my car in, told him that the previous mechanic thinks it’s a wiring issue and they did the job surprisingly quick. I got the receipt for $700. Went out to car and started her up. The light popped back on so I went back inside and told him. The mechanic took it back in. Explained that it is a wiring issue, as I stated on drop off and I told them they could have till Friday 3pm [2days] to work on it. He told me no cost to me, cool.

The issue with the situation is how much they lied to me. On the phone they said there was a misfire code. My other mechanic was showing me the codes and stuff and there wasn’t a misfire code like he said, however I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe in the 10 mile drive from home to the repair shop the code for it popped on, fine. On the phone he said they tested the intake camshaft actuator and there was an issue with it, as they didn’t know we just put in that exact part less than 48 hours before. Maybe we got a bad part, fine. Next he said they started it up 3 times. No issue with the light popping on. First time I started it up the light pops on but again, fine maybe just dumb luck on my part. Finally he stated that they test drove it for 5-10 minutes and it drove fine.

And this is the part that is just a straight up lie. After leaving my car there without being called even though it was just sitting there for a majority of the 2 days they had it, I came in to get the car and they said, "there is a problem with either the ECM or it’s a timing problem. You have to take it somewhere else and it will either be 500 or 1500 dollars." I drove the car to a new mechanic and it was still struggling to accelerate and still had reduced fuel economy which means they did not test drive it and lied about that too. Now I’m out 650 dollars (700-50 refunded) and they didn’t do anything to help my car. It is in the same condition it was when I brought it in. Wouldn’t recommend taking your car here.

I had never enjoyed taking my car to get it repaired until I started going to Mr. Tire. I recently had replaced my tires at Mr. Tire. Somehow managed to run over a screw on 2 separate occasions. They saved the day on my 2nd flat, I think they could tell I was not having a good day and fixed my flat for free. They are friendly and you can't get a better bunch of guys. Starting on 11/30/17 I came to Mr. Tire on 131 Second Street Laurel, MD 20707 to get a front brake service done which was done by: Technician (**), I decided to come back on 12/28/17 and get the back brakes down, this was performed by: Technician (**), the technician also told me that the shocks and struts on the vehicle needed to be replaced. I began hearing a rattling and grinding noise coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle so I took it back to Mr. Tire on 2/11/18, I was told by Technician: **, that I needed an outer tie rod which I agreed to get fix in hopes that the noise would go away. During this service the technician informed me that he was not able to get the part to completely fit in correctly but he was able to get it to fit enough that we shouldn’t have any more problems.

We left the shop not hearing any more noise until a few weeks later. We decided to go and purchase an OEM part from Kia for the outer tie rod and went back to Mr. Tire to have them remove the tie rod that didn’t fit and replace it with the OEM part. We were told at that visit that the part put on 2/11/18 did fit and there was no need to put the OEM part despite our request multiple times to put it on regardless. I was told that the noise was coming from the bolt or pin in the back of the rotor on the front passenger side being put on too tight so he attempted to fix it.

The noise went away for a weeks only to become louder, I returned in May 2018 to be told by the Technician that now I need to replace the sway bar links, I agreed in hopes to FINALLY fix the car completely. Two weeks later the sound returned from the same side so we returned to Mr. Tire and had Technician: ** look at the vehicle and finally get the issue fixed, he now informed me that the lower ball joint on that side needed to be fixed and we agreed in hopes that this would be the last puzzle in fixing the car. Two weeks later the car was so bad and the right passenger tire felt like it was going to fall off and the noise was even louder.

I called the Kia dealership in hopes that they would be able to take a look at it but they assured me that since they did not do the work on the vehicle they would not be able to inspect it. I took it to another Mr. Tire located on 14709 Baltimore Avenue Laurel, MD 20707 on 7/7/18 and explained to them everything that had been occurring trying to fix the front passenger side tire issue and asked that they inspect everything and inform me of what they see. I was given a call by the front desk representative named ** and was told that Technician: ** diagnosed the car with needing front struts, back shocks and also rear brakes, nothing at all was mentioned about the real issue. They informed me that once I get these things fixed then the sound will go away.

We decided to get the shocks and brakes down despite Kia dealership checking the struts and shocks prior and informed us that there was no need to replace these items yet. We still asked about the noise that we originally asked them to check and they informed us that the noise would go away while fixing the other issues. Not even two week later the front passenger side tire was so severe that all you heard was metal on metal and the tire was very wobbly.

On 7/13/18 while attempting to drive to work, the car was in such bad shape that I had to immediately take it back to Mr. Tire on 14709 Baltimore Avenue, Laurel, MD and asked that I was sick and tired of coming in for the same problem only to be told that it was another issue and to only look at the front passenger side tire and let me know what is going on. I was informed by Technician: ** that it was the wheel bearings on that side and the reason the wheel bearing went bad is because Mr. Tire located on 131 Second Street Laurel, MD 20707 put the axle back on wrong when working on the vehicle. I agreed to have the work done and informed them at that time that I would deal with corporate to attempt to get my money back for all of the service they performed including parts I didn’t need.

The technician put the wheel bearings on and after sitting in the shop for close to 10 hours waiting on the car, I was told that I would need to replace all of the items on that side: (control arm, axle, knuckle, wheel bearings and ball joints) but that it was safe to drive home and return when the parts get in. The drive home from the shop was one of the scariest drives of my life, it was not safe and I got home parked the car and immediately called the next morning to voice my concerns.

The reason I was told that I now have to replace all of the parts is because of the axle being put on incorrectly and it damaged the other parts, this was done at Mr. Tire located on 131 Second Street. I have attempted to resolve these issues with both of these shops so I can get my car fixed correctly only to be left on hold, told I would be called back and even been told that labour would be removed but I have to buy all the parts. The parts would have not had to be replaced so soon if it wasn’t for the negligence of the technicians and staff at the Mr. Tire shops. The total amount for service trying to get this one item fixed was over $2,000 and that is not including the new parts that I could potentially have to purchase because of the faulty service.

I was there to purchase new tires to be installed. I declined all other services, as I had just had the car serviced at the dealer. The manager performed an alignment anyway, which he tried to say I needed and charge me for. When I stated I had declined that, he said he would include it as a courtesy. When I left the store, that's when I noticed my car pulling to the left, completely out of alignment. I took back to my dealer, who confirmed it was out, and realigned my car, but I had to pay for it. I contacted Mr. Tire immediately for reimbursement. They are complaining that they need this form and that receipt, so I called their corporate number. They stated the same thing, so I had my dealer email the spec sheet, receipt, etc. They continue to ask for more documentation, and will not reimburse me. Buyer beware.

I decided to order tires from Tirerack.com and had them shipped to the Mr. Tire in Shrewsbury PA for install. I called to make an appointment and was quoted $78 for install, plus $30 per tire for new TPMS sensors. I agreed because the TPMS light was on. Everything went fine at first as my car was taken at the appointment time. An hour later the mechanic said I would need an alignment. $85. OK. Two hours after that my car was done. Three hours to get four tires installed and alignment - seemed a bit long.

Anyway, I got into the car and drove off - only to see the tire pressure light blink for 30 seconds then stay on. Drove for a while thinking maybe it just needed to be reset but it did not go away. It did not - they had not even reset the light. I went back and they said the light was on when it came in. Nothing they can do except replace the TPMS sensors - at $75 a wheel (plus labor)! They are $40 each online. While I was waiting, a lady sitting next to me said she was giving Mr. Tire one more chance after another Mr. Tire tried to sell her tires she knew she did not need. I'm not giving them another chance.

I couldn't give them 0 stars. I purchased 4 Goodyear Kelly Edge 55,000 tires from Mr. Tire in Stow, Ohio in July 2016. In May 2018 at 26,872 miles, Mr. Tire informed me that the tires needed to be replaced. They lasted less than half of what they should have. The tires were rotated every 7,000 miles per the original salesman, and the wear on the tires was perfectly even across the width of all 4 tires (per Goodyear the next day). The 1st settlement Mr. Tire offered was to buy 3 get 1 free, and the offer was only good for the same tire that I already had. This was also the SAME ADVERTISED OFFER that ANYONE walking in off the street WOULD GET.

After bringing that to the attention of the manager (Dan), he took another $75 off the total bill. But BEFORE he did that, he raised the price of the tires by $36, effectively OFFERING ME A TOTAL OF ONLY $39. (The lower priced tire was advertised on their own and everyone else’s website; $119.99 each vs the price I was quoted of $128.99). I was also offered free Road Hazard insurance (which I would never buy) and a free alignment (that I will get for $49.99 vs their price of $104.99). I went to GOODYEAR and the great folks there GAVE ME A NO HASSLE WARRANTY ADJUSTMENT of $252 which was slightly over half the cost of the tires, pro-rated right down to the very last mile. And it was applicable to either the same or any other tire that I wanted. Kudos to Goodyear and shame on you Dan and Mr. Tire.

This was plus an alignment which they said I needed. I paid the bill and noticed $79.99 charge for mounting the tires and whatever else is needed. My daughter told me that is usually included in the price of the tires so I'm guessing I got taken. I called Walmart and they gave me a much lower price and just so you know Mr. Tire told me they usually beat their price. I will not be returning. This has put me in a serious money situation.

Went in for an inspection and oil change and had coupons to use. Cost started at just over $30 but needed to add an air filter. Then things went terribly awry - I was told about other parts/work needed and after stating several times that I would take care of the other issues next week and being advised that this was a safety issue even though I confirmed that my car would pass inspection, I'm not even sure why, but I agreed to two of the suggested repairs. When feeling a bit lost when discussing the cost, I stated that I wanted to write this all down but was advised that this would be explained later. By the time my car was ready after being there over four hours, I just needed to get home and signed the paperwork and escaped.

When going over the bill of over $530.00 and noting that I didn't even get the minimal amount discount provided by the coupons, I realized that they saw me coming - female, senior citizen - easy to con. They will not provide credit for the coupons and I don't know how to handle the fact that the check tire light is on - almost afraid to go there to use their air & gauge for the tires & hope they don't try to charge me for this. Kicking myself for being so easy to con - I think they have had practice.

I haven't written a review yet for my experience at the Mr.Tire located at 11085 Mall Circle, Waldorf, MD but after reading other reviews I feel I should do so to encourage others to look elsewhere unless you truly have a emergency. I placed an appointment to have a recently purchased vehicle looked over and given a tune-up, which involves the usual suspects, before taking the SUV in it was operating normally but as it was used I wanted it to have a tune-up just in case for peace of mind basically. They had the SUV in the garage for about a hour and a half, they come out, say everything is done and hand me the keys. I pay the bill. I go outside start it up and it sounds normal, then I start to drive to the stop sign and notice very loud noises, I turned out to the road and made it maybe 50 feet and had to stop in a parking lot, the car sounded like a farm tractor and was shaking horribly.

I decided to drive home which was about 10 minutes away, at the traffic light it stalled, but started right back up. I made it home and called Mr.Tire, the man on the phone said I should bring it back that night or in the morning, I asked for a tow and he declined. I was assured that their "best guy" would be looking at it in the morning. So I caught a ride home after dropping it off that night and the next morning they called me saying that I must have messed my own car up by driving in Eco Mode, and that they would give me a discount on fixing the issue. Never mind that driving in Eco Mode shouldn't really hurt your vehicle.

I picked it up again, and the check engine light came on again, so I took it back that day. The guy that checked for problems did nothing more than reset the code, as he gave me my car back 15 minutes later. Guess what? The same issue occurred again, this time it sounded like a farm tractor again. I called Mr.Tire and told them how ridiculous this was, my family insisted I just take it somewhere else but I refused because I'd get charged by someone else. I brought it back and told them I wouldn't pay. They said they wouldn't charge me.

The "head mechanic" said somehow a spark plug was unseated, and kept the line that somehow me using Eco Mode was the fault for all of my issues but declined to charge me. This guy was rude. Very, very rude. He hung up on me as I was saying thank you. How they managed to screw up a tune up and then had the nerve to charge me again to "fix" their mistake is beyond me. The only plus is that I did get new spark plugs? For 500$+. I highly discourage anyone from using Mr.Tire of Waldorf at Mall Circle.

I had a couple problems in the past small but nonetheless a problem with them doing complete service work. One time I thought they didn't rotate my tires and I was right coz I had removed a valve stem cap from the left rear tire and when I got to pick the truck up the valve stem cap was still off in the left rear tire so they did not rotate my tires as they said they were going to. I made an appointment online for oil change service and arrived there 10 minutes before my appointment time and said I would wait.

Well needless to say one hour later my truck was still sitting in the parking lot and they had not been taken in to be serviced. I went in to the customer service desk and inquired as to why my truck wasn't taken care of yet because I had an appointment an hour ago. They actually didn't have no reason as to why it wasn't done yet. They said they had a new guy and he was supposed to do it. Then whatever else they said none of it made any sense at all. It was not necessary. Do you even say anything. So I asked for my keys and said to them. "Apparently you're too busy today to even honor your appointment so I will go elsewhere and I'd like my keys. Thank you."

They gave me my keys and I walked out the door and get in the truck and some assistant manager or whatever came out and started apologizing and said, "I hope this doesn't reflect on our service in the future and blah blah blah," and I just basically told him that I would not be back to have any service work done. I'm going elsewhere. He finally told me something about they only have one left that could pick up my big truck and it was being used by somebody else and they couldn't get my truck in. I never offer me any compensation for waiting an hour, did not really apologize at all to speak of and so I just left and I will not go back to Mr. Tire in Frederick Maryland on Patrick Street.

I took my car for wheel alignment, balancing, and repair for a air leak on the left rear wheel at 11:30 am Saturday 10/29/2016. Since I did not have an appointment I inquired how long the service would take, and I suggested probably two hours to which the person agreed. I left and came back at approximately 2:00 pm. It wasn't done. I left and came back at 4:11 pm. The car was up in the rack but it wasn't done. No one even bothered to tell me what was happening. I waited and stood outside for over an hour before the manager did invite me to the lounge. 5:48 pm still no service. It is my opinion based on my experience that I have so far articulated above that I was a victim of discrimination for being **.

This store does not serve certain customers. They do not say it verbally, but by making sure that they repair your car at 7 pm even if you arrived at 11, they communicate in essence that 'your type' is not welcome. 118 back river neck road, Essex, Md 21221 is the store. They got me once, but they will not get my business again. They really displayed a pathetic level of ignorance. Discrimination in business is just plain stupid. I was the only customer sitting alone by 6:10 pm. Still nobody communicated with me. The Manager came through the lounge room to the restroom and emptied the trash cans, clearly cleaning up for the next day. I casually asked how long it would take for them to attend to my car, but he asked which car I was talking about.

The unprovoked casual arrogance is actually impressive. They did everything to provoke a reaction, but I remained calm, complained not at any time. I do hope that if there is a mature person working in management for Mr. Tire that they will do a lot more training on how to respect the customers and keep their prejudice private. At 6:35 pm not even a word. How does Mr. Tire allow employees to come to work and practice their hate? At a minimum they could have made me aware that they are 'super busy' and could go somewhere else, but to waste my time is being extra personal for sadism benefit only. 6:46 pm nothing. 6:57 pm. Finally the very last car.

Had a bolt stuck in driver's side tire from road debris. I have a lifetime tire warranty with Mr. Tire so I took my CRV there to get it fixed as they did fix the damaged tire. But in the process they had broken one of my wheel studs and told me as I was leaving the store and said it was completely ok to drive on 4/5 bolts. They needed to order parts from another parts store which won't be in till the next morning. So as I got home I noticed that one of other the bolts on the same wheel was missing now, the stud was there at least, so now I'm driving on 3 lugs bolts with 2 lug bolts missing. Called them to tell them about the other lug bolt, they said another bolt will be in when you come in the morning.

I was worried to death that my wheel was going to fall off vehicle with this dangerous situation they put me in. With me being so upset about my wheel falling off, I ended paying the $30 bill for the tire to be fixed in which should have been repaired under the lifetime tire hazard warranty. I'm not happy at all with this customer service and the fact I was charge for something that should have been covered under the warranty ended up getting a refund. They did at least follow through and fix the unsafe problem they created, but I was very dissatisfied with the service and will take my tire needs elsewhere.

I brought the car back on 7/22/16 and was told that my high side AC line needed to be replaced. I asked Mike if this problem could have been found last week when I was here and he said no. They had to shoot dye this time and be lucky that I have another car to drive because he don't have that option.

I looked at my receipt and I was charged for dye on the first visit. So basically I was charged $150.75 plus taxes and other shop supply fees for a problem that should not have costed no more than $29.99 for me to find out this problem on the first visit. To top it off I had a appointment this time and still had to wait 3 hours to get my car back. The reason for this review is to get some help from corporate on being overcharged for a basic service and to help others from making the same mistake as me. I contacted their corporate office by phone, and in writing, to complain that their advertising in Ohio appears to blatantly violate the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act. The text of the Complaint is at the very end of this introduction. I received no response whatsoever which is a tip off to me that my Complaint is valid. That is, the company's non-response is simply CALCULATED to make the COMPLAINT "evaporate" (i.e., they bury it under the rug, hoping it blows over). Although I am not an Attorney, I am nevertheless fully entitled to formulate an intelligent, well reasoned opinion as to the legality of the company's ads here in Ohio.

Without getting into high detail, my present position is their failure to CLEARLY AND CONSPICUOUSLY disclose their 9.99% fee has caused ACTUAL economic damages to a substantial class of consumers here in Ohio. Consequently, in my opinion, a capable licensed attorney here in Ohio could and should sue this company to recover consumers' aggregate economic losses here. Furthermore, at a bare minimum, that is regardless of any potential for a class action, an action for declaratory judgement and/or injunctive relief could be successfully prosecuted here. Contact me at ** and, at no charge, I will provide you with all of the information that I have collected (including the theory of recovery).

Corporations generally have declared war on the public in that they are, in essence, stealing from the public. A key strategy to effect that theft is deception in advertising. Not surprisingly, then, we clearly can see that deception in advertising has become a habitual, systemic, routine, fully entrenched "feature" of day-to-day economic life. It is time for the public to fight back. And, really, the only recourse at this point is for attorneys to sue these companies. Both state AG offices and the BBB have little interest or motive to get involved. So, we are counting on you attorneys to save the day! Feel free to contact me for details.

Here is the text of the Complaint, as sent to Mr. Tire, and which has been totally ignored by the company: A full page ad promoting eleven Columbus area Mr. Tire Auto Service Centers was published in the 2/7/2016 edition of the Columbus Dispatch. 1) Buried at the bottom of the page, and set in incredibly small microscopic type, is a footnote stating that a surcharge of 9.99% will be added to customers bills. The OAC at 109:4-3-02(C) specifically prohibits the use of footnotes to disclose material extra costs of this sort.

    2) The ad has a coupon for Flush & Fills, namely: Cooling System; Power Steering; Fuel System; and Transmission (type of trans. not specified). The coupon makes a global claim of gas savings. I am unaware of any evidence from technical or scientific journals that cooling system, power steering system, and transmission flushes generate any measurable fuel savings for typically situated consumers.

Furthermore, the fuel system service is unlikely to reduce fuel consumption to any meaningful (measurable) extent inasmuch as only a tank additive is used (e.g., there is no direct cleaning or technical testing of injector condition). OAC 1345.02(B)(1) prohibits vendors from making a claim, such as gas savings, unless the vendor possesses competent, credible evidence substantiating the claim. For example, does Mr. Tire possess documentary evidence proving that flushing the cooling system in a typical consumer's car improves vehicle fuel economy?

    3) Mr. Tire is a fictitious name registered in Ohio to Monro Muffler Brake, Inc. However, the businesses vending the goods and services are Mr. Tire Auto Service Centers. The latter fictitious name is not registered with the Ohio Secretary of State's office which is a violation of state law as well as the Consumer Sales Protection Act.

We decided to drop off our vehicle for an oil change and tire rotation at the Mr. Tire, located in Mt. Airy, Maryland off of main street. We had a 1:00 pm afternoon appointment for them to service our vehicle. We locked our vehicle and turned in the keys/key fob remote to the service representative. The service representative told us that they would call us when our vehicle was finished. We never received any phone call, first issue. Second issue, in the late afternoon when we were going to check on our vehicle, I caught a Hispanic lady rummaging through our vehicle in the parking lot of the Mr. Tire. I came up beside our vehicle and I saw her in the passenger seat with the door open, going through the glove box, center console, and the driver's sun visor. I literally caught her "red-handed" with the $60.00 of cash that we had stored in the sun visor for road tolls.

When I confronted her, she quickly put the money back into the visor and acted like she could not speak English and told me she was "confused". I kept asking her what she was doing in our car and she kept telling me that our car was her car, along with several other excuses. Really? She then tried telling me that her remote key fob had unlocked our car. Really? Kind of strange when our vehicle keys are with the garage front desk. My wife immediately called the police and took pictures of the lady, along with her license plate. The sad thing is, the lady's two little daughters (suspected ages of 6 to 10 years old) were in her Chevy Suburban, asking her if the police were going to take her to jail...again. A Maryland State Trooper finally arrived at the scene thirty minutes later and we explained the situation to him. He wrote down both of our information and told us to check our vehicle.

Luckily the cash was still in the sun visor and nothing else was taken. Third issue, after the State Trooper released us, we immediately spoke with the garage supervisor and they told us that our vehicle was NOT yet serviced. Even though we had a 1:00 pm afternoon appointment, the supervisor explained to us that they did not touch or service our vehicle yet and it was 5:30 pm. Our vehicle was sitting in the parking lot for 4.5 hours and how did our vehicle become unlocked? The garage supervisor "promised" us that our vehicle would be done in another hour. Really? My wife and I were not upset, frustrated, and just wanted to leave at that point and go someplace else. The garage supervisor was "apologetic" and seemed somewhat concerned at what happened in their parking lot but told us that he and Mr. Tire did not want to "get involved" in the matter. Nonetheless, we left our vehicle with Mr. Tire for another hour.

We came back at 6:30 pm to pick up our vehicle and pay the garage. My wife walked over to check the doors of our vehicle to see if they were locked. They were NOT locked. I spoke with the garage supervisor and told him what we found. He explained to us that the doors should have been locked and "...perhaps the mechanic left the vehicle open because you guys were coming back". Really? The bottom line is this, Mr. Tire does NOT take the time to lock customers' vehicles when they are sitting in the parking lot (even though they have a policy to do so). Stay with your vehicle when it is getting serviced. It is a true shame that no one "respects" other people's property. We will NOT be doing business with the Mr. Tire, located in Mt. Airy, Maryland.

Although my car only had 45,000 miles on it and the onboard sensors said the brakes were good for another 17,000, it had been driven at autobahn speeds in Germany, so it was not unreasonable that I needed brakes. I reluctantly agreed. Then they tell me there is a crack in one of the alloy rims (which they showed me) - cost of that repair $350 and three more days.

There was nothing wrong with the rims when I drove into the shop - the old tires held air fine. They could not explain that and refused to admit they damaged the rim while mounting the tire. Dropped off my daughter's car at the Mr. Tire in Mentor Ohio on Mercantile Drive on a Tuesday to have a mass airflow sensor and hose replaced and an oil change. I had always had great service at another Mr. Tire location in Mentor, but that location had closed. This Mercantile Drive location was new to me, but the manager told me some of the staff from the location that closed had moved to his location which made me feel confident in their work. I was so wrong. The manager called me the next day and said the car needed one of the control arms replaced. The cost, along with the other repairs needed, would be ~$620 - an additional $200+. I gave the go-ahead and was told we could pick the car up Friday (two days later). My daughter and I arrived Friday at 12:30pm and her car was still on the rack. The manager informed me that the other control arm was also bad and he was waiting for the part to come in.

I had never been called about the second control arm or asked if I authorize the repair - he just assumed. I asked him if it would be an additional $200 (which was the price he quoted me for the first control arm). He said it would be tight, but he would "do his best" to get it at $200. He then said the car would be ready the next morning (Saturday). I told him I'd be there around the time they open (8am). We arrived Saturday morning at 8:30am. The car was still on the rack and - by the way - it had been the only car on the rack the previous day too. The manager couldn't find my paperwork for ten minutes. He finally found it, scanned my credit card for $714 (I also had a $20 coupon) and tried printing the receipt and services performed on the car. The printer jammed and he said he would just mail a receipt to me. I asked, "Don't I need to sign something?" and was told, "Not unless you're going to give me a hard time about it." Really?

My daughter left and drove straight to the gas station less than one mile away to get gas and smoke began billowing out from under the hood and her coolant indicator was above "H". Completely livid, I called the Mr. Tire from where we had JUST picked up her car and surprisingly the manager was out for the rest of morning. I informed the person who answered that the car I had JUST picked up had smoke coming out of the hood. I was told I could bring it back there if I wanted (HA!) My daughter also called and was told the same thing. Beyond livid at this point, I then called Munro/Mr. Tire corporate office to complain. They contacted the District Manager who told me tow it to Mr. Tire in Mentor-on-the-Lake and they would ensure that the issues would be resolved. This location was very professional.

They checked out not only the overheating issue (which they determined was due to absolutely no coolant present - the other location never filled it - and a very, very sloppy oil change) they also checked over the "work" the Mercantile Drive location supposedly performed, which also resulted in a replacing hose that was still torn. This work was at no charge to me. The Mentor-on-the-Lake Mr. Tire team did a great job. They are professional, provide quality work and care about customer service and satisfaction. The Mercantile Drive Mr. Tire is absolutely terrible. The manager is rude and the quality of work is non-existent. Apparently, when my car was getting an oil change at Mr. Tire, they put an ill-fitting gasket on my oil filter, and then, realizing it was ill-fitting, this terrible person, put a 2nd ill-fitting gasket over top of the first. This caused a distortion in the both bad gaskets and the compression built up and left me stranded on the side of the road when it spilled out all at once. No action is needed. And he even said that all my fluid levels are verified and topped up as needed. I later verified and see that my windshield fluid was less than half and my oil level is lower than expected. I got suspicious and requested a copy of readings of alignment. Then he lied that they verified the readings but there is no way to print them and they are now erased now and I cannot get them now.

When the website made a promotion/coupon, I was expecting them to honor it. When the staff went to this level of lying, it is time for you to introspect the offers you provide on your website and publicize them only if all your branches are able to implement them. How can anyone trust this kind of businesses who lie to this level? I had to go to Goodyear next day to have wheel alignment checked and alignment done. I had to make two trips and hassle of appointment with multiple shops when I was expecting that Mr. Tire would rectify and fix it in my first trip. I had quite a disappointing experience with Mr. Tire.

Later I saw another review of the same shop where a lady complained that they lied to her in the same way. She asked multiple times whether her tires are rotated and they kept lying that everything was perfect but when she went home and verified, she realized that they never rotated her tires. This is the worst lie I ever heard from any business.

Took my car in for a regular oil change. This was not the first time we have been to this location so I assumed we would get quality service being a customer already. They had a sign up saying they beat competitors pricing for oil changes, so I presented them with a coupon for a $17.99 oil change at Sears. The employee stated that was their price as well before I could even ask. She then proceeded to tell me it would be around $20-$21 with tax. I was already there and like I said we had gone there before so I agreed. She then told me it would be an hour minimum wait. At the time my husband was deployed so I couldn't leave the car, so my 1 year old and I waited in the waiting area. There were no other cars getting worked on since it was early in the morning and I seemed to be one of the first ones there.

While waiting several other people came in wanting service and the girl at the desk kept turning them away, stating they didn't have enough employees that day and they were pretty busy. As other customers could see there were 4-5 people working in the garage with only my car and another being worked on. There were about a half dozen empty bays and employees just sitting around. When it came time for me to be cashed out, the front desk receptionist (the same as who checked me in) rang me up for a total of $38! That was almost double what they told me it would be even with a coupon! The girl swiped my debit card and said it didn't go through but it was because their computer systems were "Old and Crappy" (her words). She then proceeded to swipe my card an additional 2 times and told me the error must have been in my end.

Having mobile banking on my phone I logged on and saw that the transaction already was pending through my account. She insisted it was an issue with their system processing transactions with my particular bank and that it "happened all the time." It suddenly went through and I left. That night I noticed it cleared my account and thought nothing of it. Until the next day when another charge from them (showing up on my statement as Monroe) was pending for the same amount. I immediately called my bank to dispute the second charge and was told they not only charged me more than once but froze my accounts!!!

So I drove down there and tried talking to both the receptionist and store manager showing them I had been double charged and they both seemed irritated that I was there. The manager stated he couldn't do anything about it since it was the weekend but he would call corporate Monday morning and I would for sure get a resolution. When I asked for his name (since they don't wear name tags) he became even more bothered and stated "Don't be calling me Monday about it." Well Monday came and went and I received no phone call.

Tuesday morning I called and asked to speak with the manager. He got on the line and didn't even know my name or for which car it was for but told me he called me about it. When I asked him what number he called he gave me a number that was nowhere close to mine. (If he didn't know my name or the car and had a bogus number one would believe he never called.) He said he would call corporate again and get back to me. (If he called already like he claimed he should have had a resolution.)

Knowing I wouldn't hear from him and still not able to access my account I decided to call corporate myself. That got me nowhere. The woman who I spoke to in the customer service department was extremely rude and said she would forward me to accounting. I have still yet to hear back from any of them and my accounts are still locked because my bank is flagging their multiple charges as fraud! Bottom line, from the receptionist to the manager and customer service at their corporate office, everyone seems too busy to be bothered. If you want awful customer care, a long wait and false advertising by all means take your car to Mr. Tire but I for one will not be back and I will make sure neither will my friends and family!

The oil change itself was a basic oil change and even with an appointment it took well over an hour. Very frustrating especially since there were 4 technicians working and only 2 people in the waiting area. Will never use again. This was absolutely ridiculous. And to top it off when they finally found the leak in the tire they quoted me $36 to patch it up and claimed that they were not sure if it would hold and recommend I get a new tire. The tire was only 8 months old with plenty of thread left. So much for a FREE flat fixed. I ended up paying $40 for a conventional oil change and taking the tire somewhere else to be fixed. Then to end the day they killed the battery while they were working on the car. Stay away from this place.

I took my car in for a hose replacement, and was told after being charged for the labor of installing the hose that my water pump was actually what was wrong (interesting that was not found until they charged me for the first job). l left the car to have the water pump and timing belt replaced. When I got the car back, the belt began jumping inside the housing and the engine was misfiring and cutting off. I went back to Mr. Tire to tell them about it and the guy told me it was a plug wire problem. He promised to look at again which took an additional 3 days because of call offs and such. I got the car in and when I got it back, it began back firing to the point that I could not drive it. I went back again and suggested that maybe the timing was not set correctly. I was told that the timing belt cover was cracked, and that was the problem. After some back and forth, I insisted that they check the timing.

I was told that the only way to do it was manually, so the tech took the cover off in front of me (which was not cracked) and he admitted that the timing was indeed off. He again said he would adjust it. When I got the car back, it had a loud whining sound coming from the engine and was still performing poorly. The technician actually told me that he had never done a timing belt on my particular car and had only done a couple in his short career. He also stated that he called a friend of his that was a tech, who told him that Ford's liked their timing set a little before TDC, which is an incorrect setting for my car. Currently my is back firing again and cutting off. I contacted a reputable mechanic that I know who stated the timing was off and needed to be set correctly based on the symptoms I described. I also did extensive research which confirmed what I already knew. I have requested a refund and filed numerous complaints. I am waiting for a reply.

Bought set of 4 for my Audi A4 Quattro and at the register was offered "insurance" for $17 per tire. Having spent over $600 I was reluctant to add close to another $70 to the bill. Of course, if I had, the tire wouldn't have gone flat in less than 300 miles. I returned to get my free flat fix and was told the leak was just off the tread and a side wall issue that can't be repaired. I tried arguing that there must be a manufacturing fault for it to last only 300 miles of the 60,000 rating. No go.

"I can give you a cheaper tire with a really similar tread pattern". In distress I took the deal (about $120 all in including $5 disposal, even though I kept the tire). Another 2 weeks goes by and when washing the car I noticed that the replacement only has a 40,000 rating. This seems a really bad idea, since the car is "all wheel drive", and when the 3 better tires have 20,000 miles of tread left, the replacement will be worn right down -- this has to stress the differential. I feel I got screwed. Any suggestions?

I was shopping around online for new tires for the front end of my car. Mr. Tire seemed to have some good reviews on a specific tire which was also at a reasonable price. Upon getting the tires replaced they did not rotate the tires from the rear to the front and put the new tires on the back, even though I had requested them to do that which in fact I shouldn't have had to since that is common practice when getting the front two tires replaced. Also since they were replacing the front tires they did a brake inspection as well. The store manager said that everything looked good and that no work needed to be done to the brakes for sometime.

Upon driving the vehicle just as I had left Mr. Tire I noticed a high pitched squeak when applying the break. I thought it was odd and figured it was nothing. Four weeks later it was still occurring and I called up Mr. Tire and asked them to take a look at the brakes. Now before I took the car in I had attempted to take the front driver’s side tire off and inspect it as this is where the noise was coming from. Upon doing this one of the lug nuts broke off with the bolt on it. The bolt has snapped off. The lug nut was cross threaded and when trying to take off the lug nut the bolt broke off. Now once I took the car in they inspected the front breaks and told me that my rotor was warped and that the break pads needed to be replaced as there was a crack in them and they had worn down substantially.

Now I did a little research and it seems that one way a rotor can be warped is if someone was to over torque a wheel while installing it onto the vehicle. And since one of my lug nuts was cross threaded into the bolt and the bolt snapped off this lead me to believe that they had over torqued the wheel while installing it which led to the rotor being warped, which in turn deteriorated the brake pad. I confronted the store manager and he said that is not the case and that my brakes and rotors needed replacing and no one on their end was responsible or accountable for anything that may have occurred to the car due to an improper installation.

To add on to this he also was trying to charge me roughly 400 dollars for a brake job on the front two tires. Was quoting me $133.99 for one rotor {said it was buy one get one free} and 119.99 for the brake pads. I don't believe this to be an honest quote and don't believe that I would truly be getting a rotor for free. In conclusion I was extremely dissatisfied with my experience because the store manager did not have any accountability for himself, his company, or his techs whatsoever. Very poor service and bad business on their part. Will never once again use Mr. Tire for anything. I will also make sure to discourage anyone from ever using Mr. Tire again based on the poor level of service that they provided me.

After I let them know that I knew that they had broken my transmission somehow, they scrambled to get my car back into the garage (it had to be pushed back in since it was now undriveable). They fixed my car after I informed them that I'm not a clueless female and that I know what a transmission is and that I would know if it was broken. After raising hell they magically "remembered" they leaked transmission fluid during the oil change (which is basically impossible to do accidentally) and that that's what was wrong.

Never take your car in for anything without being informed especially if you're a girl. They will try to scam you! Know enough that you can call someone out on their **! Lying scam artists! Also if I HAD been able to drive my car with the transmission fluid as low as they apparently had it, I would've ACTUALLY blown my transmission, which is probably what they were hoping for so they could fix it. An hour and 45 minutes later, I'm watching through the window as pieces of my car come crashing down to the ground and the guy walking away from the car in disgust. I'm told by Mike that Audi has a panel underneath that is difficult to remove and common that this occurs. Really? I loved the attempt to smooth things over with some chit chat about the weekend while paying the $90 bill. Coupon I received in the mail said $19 (since it's an Audi they quadruple the price). I was going to complain but what's the point? Mr. Tire is all about quantity and not quality. Why is so difficult to find competent people to work on your car? How do these companies stay in business? Now I'm concerned that there will be something wrong with my car. After 2 signatures and 2 initials and no time to read the small print, I'm sure if something was damaged they were released from all liability.

For the second time your store conjured up another phony charge...$4.94 for Shop Supply Fee??? What supplies do you need to change my oil and filter that aren't already included in the Charge for the Oil and Filter? It's nothing less than a LIE. Okay - you did this twice to me so I'm the fool for the first one but this one is on you. Either fix this to my satisfaction or I am calling my credit card company and getting the entire amount stopped. And, tell your management personnel that they need to change clothes, shower and shave more than once a week.

Never rotated tires because "we don't have a wrench to fit your aftermarket wheels" but YOU installed them and YOU have rotated them before? More Lies! Never did a brake inspection because you didn't have the right wrench? More lies. BEST OF ALL - you passed it all off as if it had been done until I confronted you...cover blown guys! I am the car guy in our family. I am the one that everyone comes to for car advice - buying, repairing, new tires, brakes, alignment. Where do you think you are on our list now.

So I channel this angst into action and call your 800 number - and your operator is as cold and arrogant as the personnel in your store. Talked right over me the entire time I was trying to get to your operations department. I called back 11 times and finally got through to Hope at **. She actually listened to and promised to act on the concerns I outlined - took the time to hear me out and explained that she may not be able to get answers today as people were going off shift but that she would have either the CS Director or the District Manager (the store personnel told me that you don't have DM's) contact me on Friday. We will see what happens on Friday 10-31-2014.

How can you go online, read all aspects of discount coupons, fine print included, go to Mr Tire and be told that the oil change is $10.51 more than the printed coupon. When I showed the asst manager my coupon, I pointed out the asterisk states for synthetic - which my car does NOT take, which would be more $. I then started questioning the $19.99 coupon and the invoice he printed for $30.51. The asst mgr stated that my car takes 6 quarts of oil - which was incomprehensible on many levels. I went to my car - pulled the manufacturer manual and said to find in it where it says it takes 6 quarts, as well as telling him I was going to contact the 1800 number for the manufacturer. At that time I asked if a certain mechanic was still there - he said he would go get him (mind you- over the course of 10years, I've spent thousands there). I asked him about the 6 quarts the asst. mgr said my car takes and he said that is incorrect and it takes 5 (up to .5, but not 6) with the asst mgr standing right there. The mechanic then states he will do it for the $19.99 coupon. Final cost - $18.42. Didn't bother asking them about this figure because I will never use Mr Tire again - in Dunkirk, Maryland or anywhere.

I usually never had a problem with Mr. Tire. I have had all of my tires and breaks changed there. I haven't had any problems with these services. I noticed that my brakes started to squeal about three weeks before I was leaving for vacation. I set up an appointment to have the oil changed and then have the brakes inspected. They told me that I needed to have my rotors resurfaced and that was the cause of the squealing. I didn't think there was anything wrong with the brakes because they were relatively new. Have all of this work done about a week before vacation.

A week into vacation my brakes start squealing again. Didn't I just have this problem taken care of? This is the second time that they claimed I needed my rotors resurfaced. I haven't even bothered going back to them to have them check it out because I know they will try to charge me another $60 to do it once more. I'd rather take my vehicle to Walmart and have them change the oil; at least, they vacuum it for me.

I had went to Mr. Tire for many of my cars needs. I had an older car (carburetor engine) and had my Water Pump done here, as well as many other one off repairs. I took my car to a different shop, and they found all the issues they supposedly had "fixed" were inaccurate. I had loose spark plugs, a few months after going there for a "check up". They also state that they take all cars for a test drive to see if they hear anything or notice anything. They did this to my car, stated there were no issues.. Two weeks later, I had to take my car to a local mechanic and get my axles/ball joints in the front replaced, as well as my front brakes. Over 700$ purchase that I asked for them to check, and they couldn't find.

I purchased 4 new tires for my escape in May 2014. In September 2014 I took my vehicle to get an oil change at a competitor and was told my 2 front tires were bald. Sure enough the right side tire specifically has lost traction. I returned to Mr. Tire and informed them of the new front tires having no traction. According to Mr. Tire I had refused an alignment in May.

This is UNTRUE. I asked Mr. Tire when dropping off the vehicle in May to check if I needed an alignment. This was on a Sunday afternoon. The manager had called me in to get my Visa # to pay for the tires. The mgr did not state I needed an alignment. I'm not a mechanic. I rely on the mechanic to tell me what I need to do. The mgr marked on the invoice that I refused an alignment (I didn't refuse, I didn't know I needed one!!!). This manager is no longer with Mr. Tire. Honestly I feel like he didn't want to do an alignment as it was a Sunday afternoon and he just wanted to be done with services that day.

Now I'm being treated as though I've made all this up, by the staff at Mr Tire. This has taken away any trust I had originally for their services. I don't feel as though Mr. Tire has had my best interests, as a customer held. Why would I be continuing to devote energy to this issue, if it was not some mess up on their end, by not checking to see if I needed an alignment, and conveying that message to me, so that the new tires I just bought would last me longer than 5 months. Ridiculous. Tell everyone, do not do business with Mr. Tire! They will bilk you for more and more money, due to their lack of communication!!!

Went in for a typical oil change. After going back and forth for a bit I eventually gave in and upped to the semi synthetic even though I had stated I did NOT want to switch. The next day I noticed I was leaking oil. They were closing by the time I noticed, so I took it into them the next morning (making me late for work). They replaced the gasket and plug saying mine was cracked, that it was fixed and good to go. Two days after that I noticed I was leaking oil AGAIN! I called them and they asked me to come in, so immediately I left work to make it there before they closed (missed more work; super neat). They tell me that now my main rear seal cracked; which they then quoted me $1200 - $1500. They took no blame whatsoever and called it all off as coincidence. They told me that I was lucky because if they had noticed it before they would have made me pay for the gasket and plug... Why would I pay for something I never needed?? Why did they not catch something that large and that serious the first time?!?

Had (4) tires put on my son's vehicle, as he was going to be driving 300 miles to family's house in Ontario. This was August 12. August 14, the rear tire just installed was almost flat. Went back to Mr. Tire #867 in Parma OH. They said (2) tire sensors were bad, and unless replaced, there will always be a slow leak. While replacing the sensors, owner called and said that the front shocks were really bad... I responded and said that we recently had the oil changed at the German Auto Pro shop, and no one said there was any urgency in replacing shocks/struts. I consented to having the front shocks replaced. My son drove to Ontario the following weekend. This was a total of 711 dollars for the 4 tires plus over 1000 for the shocks and sensors.

A week later, my son calls me and said that he might have to take the car into his aunt's mechanic, because there's a strange rattling noise in the front. He was pulling out of my mother's driveway on the way to the local auto shop with his uncle when they both heard a snap. The tire was punctured and went flat. Had to get the car towed, and the mechanic stated that the punctured tire was due to a faulty weld or linkage when the shocks were installed. Other than remove the bent/broken sway bar, and replace the less than 2 week old tire, he didn't go any further with the job, as he was concerned about warranty issues.

The owner of Mr. Tire's rebuttal is that because I didn't get road hazard insurance there would be no charge back to my card. This was now an additional 250 dollars. I have consulted with the corporate office without much satisfaction. It seems as if I'm going to be assured that my son's car will be repaired without spending any more upfront out of pocket costs. He would have to drive it back (300 miles home). Of course, it is not recommended for him to do any highway driving as it is now. A second mechanic in Ontario is very willing to work with me on this, who also says the tire was punctured because of a bad weld when the shocks were installed at MR TIRE in Parma OH.

I wouldn't recommend ANYONE going there, even with a half price tire sale. I even was told by the corporate office (MONRO MUFFLER/MR. TIRE) basically that I would have to get the shocks replaced (at a further expense of 800-1000), have the mechanic document the issue, and even then, there is no guarantee of a refund, even AFTER I return the faulty parts and punctured tire to the original store(?). I was told by both auto repair mechanics in Canada that we are lucky nothing serious happened, and both are in agreement that this was due to the faulty installation/or parts used at MR. TIRE that caused the damage in the first place.

Date 8-29-14 - I am very dissatisfied with the service I had at Mr.Tire in Cambridge, MD. I received the $10 oil change coupon via email, so today I thought I would take full advantage of this since this would be cheaper than my husband do it. Well my $10.00 oil change ended up costing me $29.51!! When questioned I was told by the salesperson Morgan that my car takes 6 quarts and I should have read the small print. I asked how in the world was I suppose to know this, he answered we do. And because I truly didn't, I did get the service done because I felt put on the spot. So when I got home and thought about it, reread the coupon, googled my car's information. That is reason for my complaint. In fact my car according to website in changing my cars oil it states that it should take 5 quarts and a new filter, not six as I was told. And I was also charged $14.99 for the oil filter and that's included in the coupon.

I was charged $15.00 for the 5 quarts of oils which should have been $10.00. Another $3.00 for the extra oil and I could have got that cheaper at the Walmart next door. Also $7.99 for labor and I could I gotten that for free. Wasn't I supposed to get an inspection?? Who knows I never got the paperwork! Only my receipt. I have no clue if six quarts were used, if anything was low in my car. Nothing! To honest I feel this was because I am a woman!! I feel that I have been taken full advantage of for not knowing about my car, but I should be able to take my car in to get a simple oil change. I am so angry about this, I will make sure next time I will think twice about going to Mr.Tire again!! I know for a fact if my husband when it to get this done he wouldn't had the same result.

On Friday, August 1, 2014, I took my car to the location at Millers Port and Sheridan Drive in Amherst. I wanted my tires balanced, the rims cleaned internally so they would have a better seal, and rotated. "Cha Ching". When I went to pick up the car, I noticed before starting the car that I had no brakes. I got out and looked and found brake fluid underneath the car. I went in and let them know. They agreed to look at it. When we discussed it, I agreed to have the lines replaced as recommended. "Cha Ching".

I returned later that evening. The car was still on the lift. They claimed that they were unable to bleed the system because rust had corroded the valves, yet, I had the system bled about a month or so ago at my regular mechanic and it wasn't a problem, but this time, they broke one of the valves trying to open it. Now, their recommendation was full replacement of the brake components (calipers and wheel cylinders). Major "Cha Ching".

On Saturday afternoon, I return. The car is parked outside, windows open and filthy floor on the driver's side. I go to start the car, very disgusted I had to pay $812.00 for repairs on top of what I paid for minor tire work, and the brake pedal goes to the floor. NO BRAKES! I go inside, visibly upset. I asked if they checked all the valves. Now they're wanting to replace the master cylinder and I refuse. I let them know that the one on the car is less than 3 years old and a genuine GM unit, not some half ** rebuilt from a discount store. I walk home infuriated. I place a call to customer service and never get a return call.

I get a call Monday telling me my car was being taken to a GM dealer. The car doesn't make it there until Tuesday afternoon and wouldn't be looked at until Wednesday afternoon. The dealer and I spoke. Nice folks there and DO call back when messages left, so UNLIKE Mr. Tire. They advise that there was a loose fitting and they tightened it and bled the system successfully and that the test drive was satisfactory. They also noted that the car came to them with the driver's side front mat covered in filth, oil and grease and was obviously unprotected in the Mr. Tire shop.

Without advising Mr. Tire about my discussions with the dealer, I call Thursday 8-7 asking about my car. The guy at the shop has no idea. I tell him to find out and call me back. I then, again call Customer Service asking for a call from the district manager, Jason. Nothing! At noon, someone calls me asking if they can pick me up and take me to the dealer. So I won't get trapped into paying, as my faith in the honesty of Mr. Tire is deeply in question, I tell them "It won't be convenient. Let me know when it gets to their shop and I wanted the floor cleaned".

I get a call at 3:30p letting me that the car was back at the shop and I went at 5 to get it. I also reminded the guy of the question I asked on Saturday about the fittings and they blew me off. My car is covered in greasy fingerprints and for a white car, that will not do and my floor is still filthy and greasy even after a half ** attempt at cleaning it. Whatever you do, be extremely careful of these guys and don't trust that they know anything. I'm going back with a State investigator to check mechanics licenses.

Called the Mr. Tire at 131 Second Street in Laurel, MD. Told them of the issue and they told me to bring it in and they would take care of me. Was in and out in about an hour. Now for the bad news. While driving home to PA later that afternoon, to my surprise, my tire pressure light went off again. How could this be, you may ask.... Upon further inspection, I realized that Mr. Tire had removed the wrong tire and replaced it. I quickly called the store to confront the manager. He asked me if I was sure that I told him that the Driver's side front tire was the one to be replaced. I said yes and reiterated part of our conversation which he then confirmed.

When I asked what he could do about it, he told me to return to the location and they would switch the tires. At which point I told him that I was just about 2 hours away from his location. He then asked when I would be returning to the area to which I informed him not for about 2 months. His response was that they would tag my tire and put it aside and I could pick up upon my return.

I contacted the area manager, but did not hear back from him. Then I contacted that corporate office. They were even less help. At least the store recognized their mistake. The corporate office customer service rep told me that without her being there during the conversation with the manager at the store, she couldn't help me. She then put me on hold for 5 minutes and upon her return informed me that she would do me a favor and contact the store manager at my local Mr. Tire and have them give me a discount on another tire. Seriously, are you kidding me? Stay far away from this company. Between my experience and what I have read from around the internet this company is handling the current economy by screwing their customers and then acting as if it wasn't their fault.

The "problem" was diagnosed as a timing chain by the company. During the time of repair, he received constant phone calls with questions regarding the car overheating, leaking to which the answer was no. The only problem was the sound. After two days of waiting on a Saturday, we go to pick up the car and get stalled by the manager saying that they were waiting on a part. I let him know that I would be back at closing and the car had better be out front waiting. Another call less than 45 minutes later comes in telling up to pick up the car. We pay (over $1300) and drive off to a cloud of smoke coming from the engine.

We take the car back and they pour out the door like rats off a ship. He tightens up some things and tells us that if we intended to drive the car to come back and let him put more oil in. Drive the car didn't sound like a swift idea to me, so we parked the thing at home and had it towed back in on Monday. Pick it up and again a cloud of white smoke, hard turn and leaking. The subsequent run around by management, including the corporate office has been unbelievably disgusting. It seems that because the manager says that we had the car towed in damaged, we are liars. I would under no circumstances frequent this business again. There are liars and crooks but they have exceeded the definition. If you like your car, stay away. Took it back to Mr. Tire and they found a small screw in tire. They said they plugged it and could not patch from the inside. Well - they removed the screw and put air and it held. I found another offer at a different shop that was better for my brake service, so I went there. After the shop saw the car, they noticed that the front hub was loose along with the bolt that holds the back brakes. If the hub had come off the car, the entire wheel would have come off causing a fatal accident. Also, with the bolt missing that holds the brake caliper on the car, it caused damage to the rear brake rotors. This cost me about $650 dollars to do all of this.

When I went back to Mr. Tire to complain, they said that they would compensate me for this clear sign of negligence. The manager also told me that they had fired their old manager because of similar issues they had in the past. Now, I finally receive word back from their customer service rep that the director of customer service feels that I do not deserve anything, but they will compensate me a small percentage with the caveat that I sign a waiver that this issue has been resolved. It is clear to me that they just want to give me something small, but the fact that they are willing to do so shows that they are guilty. Also, the waiver is just a way to keep me from speaking about their bad business ethics along with inadequate workmanship. They need to do the right thing here and compensate me correctly and not try to blow me off.

I have had many issues with this place way before they were called Mr. Tire. Back when they were Colony Tire it didn't seem like things were much different. They take every opportunity to make a buck off of you and if you are not careful and do not pay attention to the bill they will charge you too much for services and will charge you for things that should have been done for free.

My latest issue with them is when I took in my car for an oil change and tire rotation. I have tires for life with them and get them rotated for free. The sign outside says Oil Change for $18.95. So I am thinking my bill shouldn't be but around $20.00. I also have the "Forever Brakes" from them which was purchased a few months prior to the visit which had all new break work done at that time.

I get a call from the rep and he tells me this stuff about my brakes are about to snap and all and I need to replace them (I am surprised since I just bought brakes from them not long before that) so since I have brakes for life I say okay. They call me later to tell me the car is ready and my bill is around $700.00. I inquired as to why since oil change should be $18.95, tire rotation should be free, and just bought new brakes from them and had the forever brakes added so that should be free. Okay, first they charged me around $45.00 for the oil change even though sign outside said $18.95. Then went into some jumbo about the fine print of what "Brakes for Life" actually cover. Had I of known all of this 6 months prior I would not have wasted $120.00 to get Brakes for Life if they didn't actually cover anything. Looking at the bill it is difficult to even cypher through all of their mumbo jumbo of cost, labor, and parts. They basically tell you one thing at the counter or on the phone when you are taking your car in and then "Adjust" the price accordingly as to what they say needs to be done.

I would advise at all costs not to take your vehicle to any of the Colony Tire or the Mr Tire that bought them out because both places are not out to help the customer but only to fatten their wallets. The sad thing is at one time the ownership was not that bad many years ago and most of my family always used them when we needed a service done. Needless to say they have lost some valuable business and believe me if I hear a close friend or relative say they are going to go there to get work done I will be sure to warn them against it.

I made an appointment for 4 pm online. Well, my first preference was 3pm but never got a call even after I pushed the Call Me Now button twice until the afternoon. At that point, I was told only the 4pm was available. I show up at 402pm, there is a long line of customers ahead of me in line. I'm not served till 420pm at which point the manager has the gall to look at his watch when I tell him I had an appointment for 4pm. He tells me it's going to take at least an hour. I go to the mall, come back an hour later, wait another half hour. Then he tells me he's waiting for AutoZone to deliver my oil in 5 minutes at which point I'll be on my way.

It's now 530pm. The oil shows up, it's the cheapest AutoZone name brand oil (doesn't show up anywhere on the approved manufacturer's recommended oils for VW). It costs $5.65 at AutoZone. He charges me $14 a quart x 6. It takes about another 20 min. for someone to finally dump the oil in my car. Finally, I'm supposed to be paying and be on my way (which is taking forever because he keeps answering the phone and dealing with phone customers). Why didn't he finalize my bill sometime between the hour my car was sitting there waiting for oil???

I noticed they didn't use all the oil in my car, ask for the remainder. He says they don't usually do that but he'll check for me. He disappears, mumbling something after I have my bill and keys in hand. I wait another 5 minutes thinking he'll just grab the quart remaining and come right back. At this point, I've missed my son's bed time and I'm pissed. I take off not wanting to wait any longer. He calls me 3 mins. later asking where I went. I came back realizing that it was too late to see my son before bed time and pick up my $14 quart of oil. Long story short, I overpaid for ** service and shouldn't have bothered making an appointment since I didn't get out of there till 630pm. The tires they sold me were an issu. I had to "live with" the fact that they couldn't balance them 4 times! I asked them to just replace the tires and they said it was over 30 days!! They were trying to fix the balance issues on the 15th DAY! They are shoddy, shady and not a company I will ever deal with again! After they finished the inspection, they claimed I needed new brake pads all the way around, new rotors all the way around, and new brake wear sensors. After all of this, they gave me a total cost of 1,286 dollars for the repairs. After declining the repairs, I had to pay $43.17 for the inspection which was okay. I went home and priced the parts and added them up according to what they said I needed. It was sickening to see that the total cost of the parts were only about $280.00 and that included shipping cost and mind you the pads had electronic sensors in them. Why is it that every time I go to Mr. Tire, I am told that my oil needs to be changed at 3,000 miles, but my manual says 5,000 miles? I have a 2006 Camry. Normal driving, no towing, etc.. Last week when I went in to get my oil change, I was embarrassed in front of everyone when the guy looked back at my history and noticed that every oil change done was between 5,000 and 6,000 miles. Then I was told repeatedly that the basic oil change was only good for 3,000 miles? Since when? He insisted that I had to get the most expensive oil change to travel 5,000 miles or my car would have issues. Of course he never asked how my driving was, such as towing or extreme conditions. Total ripoff, as I go by my manual and nothing else. Once I declined everything, the salesman's tone changed and he accepted I wasn't going to change my habit.

To keep the fun going, about 2 years ago, I had gotten my power steering fluid changed, as it had never been changed on this car and I was up to 100k miles. I went back 6 months later for my usual 5,000-mile oil change and was told that the power steering fluid "appeared to be dirty". That was the exact phrase the salesman used. Of course it may be dirty, it's NOT dirty. So to fire back, I questioned him and asked how long the interval is for flushing out the fluid. I was told about 20-30k miles I should get it flushed. Really? So I told him only 5,000 miles ago THEY cleaned it. There absolutely must be a problem if Mr. Tire did the flush 5,000 miles ago or they charged me and never did it. He immediately backed off and said it didn't need to be flushed. HA HA HA Got him! Ever since then, 1.5 years later, I haven't been told my power steering needed to be flushed.

The same thing happened to my brake fluid too. 2 years ago, I was told the color was not bright pink anymore, but "brownish/green tint". I never did get that flushed and I was never told it was dirty again. Really? It doesn't clean itself and should be dirtier now than before. Thanks a lot, Mr. Tire, for trying to sell unneeded services!

I went to Mr. Tire twice in October 2012 for repairs on my car. The first time, they replaced the O2 sensor, did an oil change, and a fuel system flush. I ended up bringing the car back in a week later for a cracked exhaust pipe. After the repairs, I heard a rattling noise which progressively got worse as time went on. Initially, I thought that the muffler was loose when they replaced it and didn't worry too much about it until the car started stalling. When I brought the car back to Mr. Tire, they said that two bolts from the fuel intake were sitting on my engine, and the car was stalling because the missing bolts were causing the tire to take in air, and it would cost $330 to fix.

I paid for the repair but argued that they should be responsible for the cost because they were the ones who removed the bolts. They told me that either I tried to work on the car, or I brought it to someone else and they didn't replace the bolts. This is completely untrue because I have only used them since I moved to Delaware in August 2012, and the rattling didn't start until after they worked on the car. Needless to say, they took out the bolts during the initial repair and didn't replace them, and then made more money off me by charging me to repair their damage.

These guys apparently do not know how to use a torque wrench! It happened to me first time in Aug '12 when I was there for a tire rotation and re-balance. I saw the service guy tightening the lug nuts after rotation, using a high torque impact wrench. But I wasn't sure however, so I confirmed with the service manager if it was torqued using a torque wrench to 85 lbs. He said yes; they put it through the system. And the system lets them know the right torque. Once I got home, I just wanted to confirm if they were tightened right. So I used my torque wrench, tried loosening the wrench at 60 lbs., didn't budge. I kept trying gradually increasing the torque by 10 lbs. on each try till I reached 250 lbs. I still couldn't loosen it.

Fine. Mistakes do happen. So I took it back to Mr. Tire and told them the issue. The service manager was polite and he had one of the techs re-torque it to the right specifications. I got back home, tried home and confirmed the torques and they were good. Last week (March 16, 2013), I went back there for my annual state inspection. This time I didn't check the torques. Today (March 25), I had a flat tire. I just couldn't get my lug nuts to crack with the tool kit in my car. I called up my colleague who came with a long heavy duty wrench used for heavy trucks. I took two people standing on the wrench to loosen the lug nut! I am talking about a compact car here. Now you make the judgement. Do you think this place really cares about their customers? I have a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis and took it to Mr. Tire on George St in Reading, PA for an inspection about a month ago. It's one of the closest shops to home so it seemed convenient. The inspection cost over $300 as they said nothing was wrong with it, but it needed new front tires. Eventually, back tires too. They also told me it would soon need an alignment. But at this time, it passed inspection and was ready to go! About 2 1/2 weeks later, my husband and I took it back over for the alignment. While driving the car, I noticed the alignment didn't seem much better than before and a thud noise seemed to come and go around the front right tire. So we were going to have it looked at by a different garage but hadn't been able to do so yet.

Well it's been a little over a week since the alignment. No sooner I got to leave home. Pulling out of my parking space and turning the wheel, I heard this noise like the front right tire had popped! I went out to inspect it and realized this is a lot worse than a flat tire. The tire was completely sideways, stuck under the metal piece of the car that goes over the tire! My car is stuck and blocking other cars in! After getting the neighbor, he told me the ball joint completely snapped and the tire rod is completely bent and detached from the tire! I called the tow truck guy and they all suggested I take the car back to Mr. Tire considering they were the ones who inspected it and just did the alignment.

I barely drove the car after the alignment was done, but if I had been on the highway or something, funerals and lawsuit for me and my children! Now thinking that Mr. Tire takes "care" of their customers, I thought they would recognize their wrongdoing and at least cut me some slack. Instead, they refused to take any responsibility for this and say, "** just happens!" Yet every mechanic I have spoken to in the area tells me the same thing - this can't just happen and they probably are at fault for this! Now it's going to cost $702 to fix it, but I'm not stupid and didn't sign any papers because I am not going to be liable for something I shouldn't be liable for!

However, a couple hours later when my husband arrived at the shop, they got him to sign the document stating they need his consent to take a look at it! We called customer service and the woman was really rude to my husband. She stated she will get someone to try to help us, but more than most likely we are at fault for this issue! I keep calling the main line to try and work this out, but no one is available now! I do have a QA officer looking into this for me, but little he can do on his end since they have now fixed it! With this being said, if you want a non-trusting, careless and neglectful company to do business with, then please go to Mr. Tire!

My thinking is that Mr. Tire would inform every customer about any discounts available rather than test their knowledge. This is why I don't send my wife to certain places for auto repair. Mr. Tire wasn't on this list but now it is. Also, when I looked at my final bill, it showed a shop supply fee, which was explained to me as a 9% addition for miscellaneous items such as towels, floor mats (I'm assuming plastic or paper) and grease. Are you serious?!

When given a quote for a service, I assume the quote includes the provision of the entire service. In addition, there's no explanation on the receipt about a shop supply fee for a wheel alignment. So a quote of $75 turned into $104 then $84. I'm sure the dirty towel that the mechanic used, along with the grease and floor mats did not cost even 75% of the $7.59 charge. I understand though, make money any way possible. He told me to my face that these two sensors don't go bad and that the dealership and AutoZone testing equipment is not real and he must charge me for their diagnostics. Rather than do what I asked of them, they kept the car 13 hours that day and said they fixed a vacuum leak and replaced the gas cap for $50.00. The light came back on the next day. We took it back. Now, all of a sudden, it needs the sensors I had asked them to put on the first time. I asked to see the old parts so I could bench them. He told me they don't keep old parts lying around. Cost - $308.27 for a $46.00 sensor at AutoZone. The next day, check engine light came back on. We are just trying to get this vehicle through emissions. I also got a flat fixed that wasn't fixed. The following Monday, I drove it to work and noticed a vibration. As I was leaving work on Monday, it started vibrating really bad on Rt. 95. I took it to Mr. Tire. They told me my wheels needed to be balanced and wanted to charge me $15 for each tire. That is totally unacceptable! It's just another way to get more money out of me. Upon reviewing my invoice, I noticed that I was charged for things that did not necessarily have to be done. I wasn't asked about it and it was never explained to me.

I'm not a mechanic but my brother in law is. Not to mention, he used to work at this same location! I'm not stupid! After talking to my brother in law, he told me to call Mr. Tire back and tell them that I wasn't paying for anything and I could have my tires put back the way they were. After I picked the car up again, I drove it home for the evening. When I drove it to work in the morning, it seemed fine. I took a lunch break at work and drove my car a couple of miles down the road to the bank. As I was coming back, my car started making a really loud airplane noise and vibrating. I started to slow down because I was scared and wasn't sure what was happening. As I was slowing down, a huge piece of black metal flew off my car, which looked a lot like a piece of the brake pad. All of a sudden my car was grinding really bad when I braked, like it was just metal against the rotor. I had almost been in a serious accident; I had a semi truck on my left side and a delivery truck in front of me. Had a car been behind me when the metal piece flew from my car, it would have gone through their windshield.

Luckily, I was not far from my office so I pulled in and got out of the car to check my tires. You will be as surprised as I was! Upon my inspection, one of the lug nuts on my left front tire came off in my hand! I called my dad immediately to come and examine the car, so he is a witness to the loose lug nut! I called Mr. Tire and spoke with the manager, Erick, who gave me the run-around and acted like I was stupid, until my dad, who was in the room with me, spoke up to confirm what I was saying. He was totally disrespectful! I've gotten this level of service since I took it in on Friday! I had to demand that they pay for the tow bill. Not only did I get horrible service, I missed time at work and had to get rides to and from work that day and the next. I had to pay other people for gas!

I went to pick the car up on Wednesday evening, after arranging a ride from work. I was told that a bolt had broken off because it was over-torqued, but was given no explanation about what else (that was much bigger than a bolt) had flown off my car. I was basically called a liar about the lug nut. The explanation I got was half-assed and poorly explained. I demanded a full refund and verification that the tow bill would be paid as soon as it was available. I was told that the manager, Erick, was not there, and was told to call tomorrow. Not to mention, they wouldn't even give me any paperwork showing what had been done to my car until I demanded it!

I called Erick first thing in the morning on 02/21/13. He basically called me a liar, said that there was no way my lug nut was loose, and said that he wasn't going to refund for something they have done especially when he already offered to pay for the towing. Had it been done right in the first place, this would have never happened! Had I been on a major highway, I could have been killed!

Later that morning, I called customer service at the corporate office and talked to Alisha. I requested a full refund. She said that she would look into it and call me back. The message I was left with today, 02/22/13, has made me so freaking mad, I can't think straight. The voicemail informed me that they did my brakes right and that nothing flew off my car because nothing was missing, and they were not refunding me. Of course they will report nothing missing! They don't want to be held liable for anything! You have to be kidding me!

Do not use Mr. Tire! They are just money-hungry criminals in my eyes. They lie and take advantage of people, especially women, since they think that we are stupid and don't know anything about cars.

I came in and paid for an oil change and tire rotation. They only did the oil change because they did not have time for the rotation but they charged me for it. I have been a customer for over 5 years and Bobby (manager) was rude, abusive and possibly drunk. He told me (a customer) to never come back again. What business tells a 5-year customer to never come back again? Hello? Fire Bobby, the new manager at Stow, Ohio location. Seriously? I spent thousands there. Tell a customer not to come back? WTF?

Beware of Mr. Tire on 9435 Route 40, Ellicott City. They never tell you the truth. I gave my car for 2 tire rods change, oil change, tire rotations and alignments. They switched one of my hubcaps with one from another car. I did not check this until another work was done by another shop. I called them and complained. They never even apologized. After one month, I called for a follow-up and the manager (**) told me that they do not know anything. If I do not like it, I can buy one from a junkyard. What type of stupid giving me advice to go to junkyard and spend my money?

Basically, this is not the first incident. Before, they did not do good work on oil change to my car. I doubt they use any good oil or filter. I would never recommend anyone to go there and I would publish to city newspaper soon. Please stay away from this store. I do not know about other store, but these thieves should be punished for their work - at least by boycotting their store.

On September 26, 2012, I took my 2000 Toyota Avalon for wheel alignment and tire balancing to the Mr. Tire in Frederick, Maryland (Store number 625). Before they aligned the front end, they told me I needed the left outer tie rod end. They quoted a price of $187.99 for the tie rod end. I trusted their pricing to be fair since I did not know the price of this part. Because I had taken off one day to have the car serviced, I did not have time to check their pricing. However, this price seemed so high that after getting home, I checked the Toyota dealership who quoted a list price of $78.00; Advanced Auto quoted a price of $25.00.

I called Mr. Tire where I had the work done and ** told me that **, the manager, would call me back. He did not. After four days, I called again and ** told me that prices were set by the corporate office. I complained to the corporate office. Terry ** told me the price was an error and refunded $75.54. The charge for the tie rod end was still $112.45, still more than the Toyota list price. Mr. Tire's attempt to make good was weak because they still overcharged. The thing is that I trusted their integrity to price fairly and competitively, and Mr. Tire does neither.

Beware of this company including Monroe Muffler/Tread Quarters and Mr. Tire. As a former employee, I warn you that the service end of the business is now performed by uncertified mechanics. They changed pay scale and now want the general service guys (tires and oil changes) doing all your service work leaving me (ASE master technician) doing next to none of the technical work. It's just another corporation trying to save money. So if you want a guy that might know how to fix your car, this place is for you.

I've checked the prices of having shocks installed on my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup on two different Mr. Tire locations in the Columbia, Maryland area. One quote was for $752.00 and the other was for $828.00 for Monroe Gas Magnum shocks. I purchased the shocks (Monroe Gas Magnum 34515/34516) through Amazon for $132.00 and had them installed at an independent repair shop next to Mr. Tire for $145.00 labor. Total cost $277.00. When I asked the Mr. Tire personnel about the prices, they said that all pricing was set by their corporate office and there was nothing they could do about it.

I had a set-in tires put on at Mr. Tire in Ellicott City, MD, which came with a "free" front-end alignment check. After they checked the alignment, they said it was out of specification (Left front) and it would be $94.00 to adjust it. My truck alignment has been checked at other places many times since I bought it new - and it's always been fine. I declined the adjustment and left.

As soon as I drove off, I could tell the tires were not properly inflated. When I got home, I checked the tire pressure. Three of the new tires were a little low (34 psi) but consistent - no problem. One has 42 psi in it - no surprise, it was the left front that showed “out of spec” on the front-end alignment. No doubt the technician intentionally over inflated the left front tire to make the readout on the alignment machine read “out of spec” to sell an alignment. I wonder if this dishonest practice is also a corporate policy that they can't do anything about?

Just had an oil change and head light bulb done at the Mr. Tire in Rio Grande, NJ. Oil change was fine, but they charged me $51.00 just for the light bulb! $12.50 to put it in. Called Auto Zone and the bulb is $14.99. I was never told how much this was going to cost. If I knew that, I would have done it myself. Very disappointed. Asked the manager, and he could not refund anything because it was already put through. Don't know if I'll go back.

They gave me $600 struts without asking! After months of go-around and me out $1100, they refunded me $300. These people are such scam artists and don't even know the first thing about being a mechanic. Wrong tire replacement and then a ripoff.

We bought 4 new Pirelli tires from Mr. Tire in Arlington, VA with a 60,000-mile warranty. Two years and 20,000 miles later, both front tires are bubbling and the car is undrivable without replacing these tires. We called the Mr. Tire Store, they pulled up the invoice and said there is no warranty on the tires. Wrong! It says there is 60,000-mile warranty on the receipt. Once this genius ceded that there is a warranty, he told us there was nothing they could do about it. Finally, he said that if they do not replace tires, that the manufacturer is responsible for doing so. All this, and he never even suggested we bring the car in for a look. Folks, do yourselves a favor and avoid Mr. Tire, unless of course customer service and standing by product and workmanship are of no concern to you. Now we have to spend money for two new tires that should have been covered by this dealership.

I made an appointment online (first available appointment three days later) to replace four tires with exactly the same Michelins as were wearing very well on the car. The website identified that the prices were "On The Rim & Out The Door Pricing...No Hidden Costs." Within five minutes, the store called me and told me that I could have them installed later this same day. He also told me that they would be doing a free alignment check on my car and that I would only have to pay if an alignment was needed. I asked for confirmation that the price would be as stated on the web page. The guy told me that that was the price but there were other things that I could have done and we would talk about them when I arrived.

On arrival, I was presented with a bill to sign that was better than $200 more than what I had arranged online. They had put in a cost for four tire warranties and a significant bill for wheel alignment correction. I asked for these to be taken off. He told me that they would do the alignment "check" anyway. Note that the car drives fine. The old tires had the best normal wear pattern that I have ever seen. I figured that if the alignment were actually off, I could then pay to have it corrected but I was not going to commit up front to having the alignment "fixed". He asked me if I would be coming back for the car or wait there, as it would take a couple of hours (what's the use in making an appointment?). I left the car with them and about half an hour later received a phone call with a list of other things that I should have done on the car (oil change, transmission fluid change, rear brake cleaning, etc.). I said no, just tires.

An hour and a half later, I got the call to pick up my car. I paid the bill and then noted that on my receipt they typed in "Customer refused alignment check. Mileage warranty will be intact with proof of alignment within 30 days." I told the guy that I had not refused the alignment "check" and that this was a strange twisting of the truth. He offered that he could do the alignment check if I wanted to leave the car for a couple of more hours. I took the car because it was becoming clear to me that they are greedy to find other work to do on the car and the alignment check would undoubtedly find problems that they would say need to be corrected.

I was initially perturbed because it should not take two hours for a tire specialty company to change tires when an appointment has been made but most disturbing to me is the voiding of the mileage warranty and the lie about refusing the alignment check. This car drives and the previous tires were wearing perfectly. If the new tires were to wear out prematurely due to alignment problems it would be obvious and I would understand if the warranty was then voided. It is more likely that the "free" alignment check is just a scam and it is likely that no one has ever had a Mr. Tire "free alignment check" that did not result in extra work. Despite the warranty issue, I'm glad that I did not commit up front to having wheel alignment work done.

I had a terrible experience here. I came in to get my front brakes changed on my 2004 Accord, very routine, nothing was broken. I get a call that some of the other parts needed to be changed, which I agreed to. The entire thing cost me about $700-800.

I go to pick up my car, and lo and behold, not a mile down the road and the ABS light comes on in the dash. I was in a rush, so I waited till the next business day to go in and ask about it. The guys at Mr. Tire flat out denied having anything to do with it and said they couldn't even take a look at it until a week later because the mechanic who knew about ABS was on vacation. So, a week later, I drop the car off and the next day, they tell me they don't know what's wrong with it, and that we were better off sending it to the Honda dealership. They said if Honda said the problem was theirs, they would pay for the additional work. Honda diagnosed the problem and billed us $500; they originally said the sensor was Mr. Tire's problem.

Mr.Tire refused to pay for any of the additional repair costs even though it clearly had something to do with them and their shoddy work. I mean, seriously, I go to get the brakes fixed, and then, when I pick up my car, the Anti-lock Brake System electronics are broken. Now, I don't have functional ABS on my right front tire, and with all this rain, who knows if I might need it! This is a safety issue!

I went to this Cherry Hill location with a coupon for $19.99 to get an oil change, brake inspection, 4 tire rotation, and free general inspection. The final bill came out to little over 27 dollars. I was greeted by a front desk person, Gary, who was very courteous and helpful. After waiting more than 30 minutes, I was brought aside by the store manager, Chris, and told about the pending repairs regarding my vehicle.

Everything was fine, and I was informed about the necessary repairs needed for my vehicle, but as soon as I expressed that I won't be getting the repairs done at the shop, the manager's (Chris's) attitude changed. All of a sudden, I was faced with a manager who was rude and sarcastic. When I requested a printout/copy of the suggestive critical repairs, I was told that it would take another 20 minutes (apparently it takes them 20 minutes to give me a paper stating what parts needed to be replaced). In the end, I requested Gary (nice front desk person) to make me a copy of the technician's report, and I promise you, it took him less than 60 seconds to hit 2 buttons on the printer.

As soon as the staff found out about how I will not be getting the repairs done at the shop, they clearly started stalling the work. The car was left on the winch (lift?) for another 10 minutes, despite notifying me that the work was done (oil change and tire rotation). Keep in mind, I had already waited in the waiting room for 30 minutes.

Annoyed, I started observing what exactly the staff was doing with the car. The mechanics were standing around the car which did not even have the tires put on despite the manager (Chris) telling me that the work was done. Apparently, they were more interested in an accident that had taken place just across the street. I understand it's natural to be nosy for a couple of minutes, but I timed them for another 5 minutes of just recanting/updating each other on the specifics of the crash outside.

Despite me waiting more than 30 minutes in the waiting room, I observed the mechanic/technician (Jonathan) put oil in my engine cap in the last 3 minutes of my tenure at the shop. They hadn't even performed the oil change! They were lying to me that the work was done. To add insult to injury, they don't put oil directly from the tanks as in other shops. They transfer the oil from the large (~250 gallon) tank into a clearly dirty pitcher of sorts and then transfer it into the engine oil cap using a funnel. This is completely unacceptable; there is no guarantee what impurities are also added into the engine using this dirty pitcher. Honestly, I am already wary of mechanics/technicians working on my car and let alone adding stuff in open containers into my engine when I don't even know where it is coming from.

It is clear that the staff is rude to customers with the exception of the front desk person named Gary who was respectful and courteous. The mechanics lack professionalism. I observed one of the technicians and the store manager, Chris, smoking inside the shop with cars and flammable oils around. To be honest, I was shocked to learn that the store manager was the discourteous person named Chris. The store manager is an embarrassment to this establishment and needs to learn some basic customer service skills and is directly responsible for losing my business or anyone else who even considers this service center branch.

To give this car service facility even 1 star is an undue compliment, and I will never advise anyone who values being treated with professionalism and their investments (cars) treated with respect to go here. With the exception of the new employee Gary, everyone that I came across was rude (including the 2 young technicians that I oversaw working on my vehicle).

Last year my truck died. I had it towed to Mr. Tire since I have had most of my services done there. They called and said my crank shaft sensor was bad. I said okay. They called back and admitted that it was not the crank shaft sensor but the timing belt. Since they made a mistake, they only charged me for the belt not the sensor. Up until now, December 1st, 2010, my truck was running fine. Then it died again same as last year. I had towed in again. They checked it out. I spoke to the head technician and he said that last year when they replaced the timing belt, the balance shaft belt should have been replaced also, which they never told me or gave me the option to get it on. The complete timing package should have been installed, but they only replaced the timing belt. Also, the water pump should have been replaced along with that.

Now because of the mistake they made or what the manager said, bad judgment call, my truck now has 2 bad valves in the engine and the head gasket needs to be replaced, all because they did not replace what needed to be done last year. So I have been driving around all year with a bad timing belt that I paid $600.00 for. The manager said that he would fight for me with corporate, which is Monroe Brakes, to assist in repairing it, but he did not. I received a call from corporate and they said no way were they going to help.

They said the timing belt had only 4000 miles or 4 months warranty. I said I understood that, but this is the second belt in 1 year, and if they would have replaced the other belt last year with it, this would not have happened. Everything that I paid for last year to be replaced was done again at no charge. This was done before I contacted the main office. I told them if it was not their fault, how come they didn’t charge it? I kept all the old parts, but now I still cannot drive my truck because the engine has low compression and bent valves which I cannot afford to fix, and they will not step up. This company is a rip-off.
