I can't say enough about Mavis in Shirley NY. Right when I pulled in, an employee asked what I needed help with. Then showed me where to go to sign in. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly. Took my info, they pulled my car inside, and before I knew it (approx 30 mins) I was on my way. I 1st went to Firestone in Riverhead because that's where I was at the time & 5 hr wait!!! I was so pleased Mavis was OPEN on a Sunday. Thanks for the GREAT experience. One happy customer!!!

I went to an auto place to get a simple inspection on my 2012 CRV. Well I get a call that it will not pass inspection that I needed brake pads & rotors. Well I go to Mavis for a second opinion. I left it with them. I get a call. The manager telling me he was baffled why they had failed my inspection.

I had a scary experience when my tire exploded. As Easter was that weekend and I needed to travel a great distance, ** was able to locate the special tire I needed and made early appointment on Good Friday so that we were ready for our journey for Saturday morning. That type of service is really appreciated and needed when unexpected emergencies occur.

Went in was told it would be a little longer than I thought but ended up only being there for about a half hour. I get summer tires put on after winter and the prices and staff are unmatched.

My issue started when I left a negative review on Yelp with Mavis Discount Tire. My review read, “Is there an option for negative stars? I checked all of the prices/competitors last May, and I thought I was getting a great deal! I paid a little over $400 for all "brand new tires." I have barely put 10,000 miles on the tires and my car started acting up. With around 8,000 miles on the tires, the front tires were completely bald. I brought it to a tire company when I moved to MA who informed me that Mavis put THREE DIFFERENT SIZE TIRES ON MY CAR CAUSING IT TO BE UNBALANCED. On top of this, the tires were used and ending up rotting my tie-rod. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE. I wasted over $400 for incompetent "mechanics" to screw my car up. You are better off going to Walmart.”

I looked up Mavis because I did business with them before I bought a new truck on 04/01/15. I went to Mavis Tire Company in Brooklyn New York on Utica avenue location. I went there to get two back tire change and have a wheel alignment. Firstly, it took over two hours to change a tire and do a wheel alignment. It was like they did not care about your time just as long as they get what they want from you. I even had to take a taxi to run errands that I had to do. Normally, a job like this takes less than a hour. When the store manager told me that my vehicle was done, I went to look at the job.

Had a slow tire leak that was plugged from another shop but it continued to leak. Scheduled an appt with Mavis, brought my car in and they took me right away. Within a half an hour my tire was fixed and I was on my way. Great Service and honest prices; staff was very professional and honest.

The man he put on the job was very efficient, getting right to work. As I watched I noticed the shop was running light a well oiled machine, no wasted time. I called on 3/2 for pricing and was told the order was "written up". I told the salesman I'd be in on 4/2. When I arrived this morning, the only thing that was in the computer was my name. They had no tires to fit my car at all! That's bad business.

** and the team at the Arsenal Mavis/Cole Muffler have been servicing several of my vehicles for about 3 years. I trust them implicitly with all repairs both minor and major. I recommend them at every opportunity to friends and subordinates, which I do not take very lightly. They are even often cheaper with their parts prices, compared to what I can get with my military discount locally, rather than bring the part in to have installed. If I can't do it myself, or simply choose not to, I know who to call.

Had been a customer of Mavis Tires of Wantagh and have brought my 2 cars and my mother in law's car for everything from brakes, struts, oil changes and repairs. While doing an oil change to my Mazda 3 they didn't fasten the underbody well and I dragged it and ruined it. This happened 2 more times over a 2 year period. I really don't understand how this could happen.

Unfortunately I suspected the left front caliper was sticking. I went to the Shirley Mavis to confirm and they confirmed it was. We discussed the work in detail as to my options. I like how ** broke down the costs line by line, no hidden costs, no surprises, no misunderstanding. ** and their mechanics are a great team that work very well together. I highly recommend Mavis Tire.

All great, terrific hours, open Sunday's is huge. Helpful staff always call when car is ready. Took appointment over phone. Called up with follow-up information. Put sticker on top left side of windshield with updated miles. Also, staff able to turn off oil change reminder on the dashboard.

Fair and honest, very competitive. I could have saved a few $, but I like going some place where I can trust the folks working on my vehicles. They're not pushy and inform me of worn parts, with % of wear and give positive recommendations. I can almost always get service same day I call and of not scheduling an appointment is easy. Any work I've had done has also taken less time that I figured. I drive at least a hundred miles a day and I'm hard on my vehicles. I like how easy Mavis is to deal with.

Tire Service - As always, exceptional!

They should adjust their customer service starting with front desk. Their goal is to write you up, and put you on a waiting line. Then, you just waste your time waiting in the line and see new customers getting helped even when they showed up after 45 min of you waiting to get your car in. You must have a whole entire day to get service. After 45 min of waiting I asked how much longer to start the car, the answer "You are next." Actually, next was a car that came within 10 min. Too much waiting for these people that don't care about you. They believe you have an entire day to wait at their discretion. SHAME!

I'd recommend Mavis Tires to friends, neighbors and family. They were courteous during my visit there and they were quick at getting my car in and out and having me back on the road in a decent amount of time. Their prices are fair and competitive.

I just purchased four tires from Mavis for my 12-year-old Sonata. I tried Sears first but they only had 3 brands to choose. This was my first purchase at Mavis but my sister was happy with their work. So they had a wide selection of brands, and a couple of specials. I got Cooper tires with a rebate of $60. The job was done quickly, considering how many customers were there. The sales advisor was polite and explained things clearly. No bait and switch, no pressure to buy higher priced tires than I needed. I will certainly buy here again, and tell friends to go to Mavis also.

I experienced a flat tire midway through a long trip on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of nowhere. Scranton, PA was the closest city so I searched online for tires and found the Mavis ad. I called Mavis and the Manager ** found me a tire. He also reassured me that he would keep the shop open till I arrived (I was still approx. 40 miles away). When I arrived the service was prompt and friendly. ** kept the shop open past their usual closing time to mount a new tire on my car. Thanks to them I was able to complete my trip as planned. I would rate my experience as outstanding!

This was the second time I went to Mavis for help. They were very accommodating and took care of my situation immediately. They are my go-to store for tires.

Well today I called up mavis tire about their price buster cause I found tires cheaper than what they were asking. I found starfire rs c2.0 205 55 r 16 for $56.71 free shipping from pep boys online. Mavis is asking $127.00 carry out, no installing. They say the best they can do is $79.99. I ask him “why that is” and he said that is all he is authorized to do and it says CLEARLY they will beat any price. I said to the guy on the phone “well that’s false advertisement” and he says “I know”. Their own employee says he knows it’s false advertisement. It fits all their requirements for the policy. So now I’m waiting for a call from higher up. Not to mention most I see them tires for online is $78.00 and they charging $127 so how is that buy 3 get one free when they charging you $50 to $75 more than anywhere else cause what they overcharge you for the 3 is just like paying for the 4th if not more for it?

Bought a "new" car, it has had only 413 miles on it... On my way to the "market", then front tire was getting low... "Mavis" tires center is on route nine... stopped by to tell them my problem. They have looked at the tire, and have notified me, that it can "not" be fixed, the "hole" is too big... So, I have asked for a "new" tire, the gentleman has mentioned that they have one in "stock"... It was put on, then I was sent on my way... Replace Front Tires - The experience was great, just like I expected.

I purchased four new tires for my vehicle. The receptionist was extremely, and pleasant to deal with. He gave me different options, and answered all of my questions. The job was completed in the time stated. In fact they finished ten minutes early.

I would like to commend you on your employees at the Troy Rd location, where I go for service. I had called and spoke with ** about getting my grandsons tire repaired. He took his time to explain to me that he had to order the specific tire needed and that they would have it the next day. He gave me a price quote for the service so that there would be no surprises when we went for the repair. I am a senior citizen and ** took his time to explain everything to me. He was very courteous and spoke in a polite manner. I had called the next day to verify that the tire was received and when I spoke with ** he stated that "When It was CONVENIENT for me to come in" they would take care of the repair...

I recently visited the Mavis in Florida, NY to have my wheel studs fixed. I would just like to say the customer service displayed by service tech ** was terrific. During the service, ** communication to me about potential hazards was very descriptive and placed in laymen terms for a non-mechanically inclined person like myself. He was always smiling and happy to answer my questions. There are 2 Mavis centers that would have been more convenient for me in the Middletown area but the 20-min. drive was well worth it. I will be visiting your Florida, NY store for all my repair needs. A++++ store.

The team at Mavis located in Middletown, Orange County is an amazing team! They are VERY friendly and offer amazing prices and you could always expect a "Thank you and please come back" and much more... (which is very warming and comforting). I went to Mavis Discount Tire located in Union NJ on Thursday 3/26/15 to have the four V rated placed on vehicles. The service manager informed me that I needed new struts and both right and left axle replaced. Technician was unable to complete entire service on same day because he stated he needed a special tool to remove existing left axle. I agreed to return so he could finish the task. I returned Saturday 8:30am, one of 1st customer to arrive. I ask how much longer at 11:45 until completion. Service manager stated they needed about 1 more hour. I did not leave until 6:15pm.

Technician is into his trade.
