I shopped around and Olympia was a little less expensive than others. I got a storage building for trucks and we had some serious problems with the supplier. He sent trusses that were at the wrong pitch and he fought me like the dickens, telling me I didn't know how to measure pitch and whatnot. I got a lot of pushback and they made me take down the other rafter, put one on top of the other, take a picture of it from above, and send it. That part was a little trying but eventually, they sent the right one up. When they had the one with the right pitch, it went all together beautifully. All in all, the building is good and it's working.

Nothing happened based on what Olympia Steel Buildings told me was gonna happen. So, I was disappointed in that. Me and my wife drove over to Pittsburgh and toured the plant where these buildings were coming from, and the way they described how they were being shipped didn't happen at all. I had some bent pieces that I wound up having to just deal with as opposed to going through the process of trying to get more parts. The whole door thing from Wayne Dalton wasn't as expected. Nobody seems to know anything about the ADA requirements in this day and age. I reached out to customer service, and she emailed me something from somebody that said, "No, all the doors are the same."
I told them there's something different about these ADA compliant doors. They should know about it with all these storage units going up. For the first offense, if I'm not ADA compliant, it's a $50,000 fine to me. The second offense is $100,000. They don't mess around with people that are handicapped. If I wasn't somebody that dug in and dug in trying to protect myself, I would just put the doors on like normal. But then when I finally got ahold of somebody from Wayne Dalton, they sent me all the information. And when I called Olympia, they eventually said, "Oh, that's a separate package. It's another $821." That should have been all explained upfront.
Olympia did work with me when the civil engineer took too long. They did work with me on pushing out my date because I wasn't ready for the buildings because our government takes all the time they feel necessary, which was the maximum. It took two months to approve my plans and it pushed me back at least two months on my job. The first time, Olympia set a date for me without even asking me and I said, "I didn't tell you that time. I'm not gonna be ready in August. Let's push until September." So, they pushed it until September, and then I wasn't ready. So, I had to push that one off and they didn't charge me, but then they charged me 1,500 the second time to hold. I did like the salesman, Sean. He did answer my phone and tried to answer my questions as needed. The girl that I was trying to get the ADA compliance stuff wasn't super helpful though. They need to be more knowledgeable about what they're selling.

I went with a 90x120 steel barn and the material is easy to install. I've had the building for two years and so far, everything's holding up very well.

The Olympia Steel rep I worked with was very kind and responsive. I could tell that he wanted me to have a good experience working with him. He was very knowledgeable about the sales side of things. He had an understanding of the needs of customers. I got a full steel building that is 40x50 feet. They were great to order from and it was an easy building to put up myself. I would definitely suggest them to anyone who is looking to get a building they can put up themselves.

The price of the building from Olympia Steel is cheaper. Kristen helped tremendously. She was very knowledgeable and was able to ask several questions through text message without having to call and really interrupt my day. So, it went really well.

The quality of the steel building was good. It was per the specification and it all went together pretty well. They had the lowest bidding and competitive process. We did the project for three months from start to finish. But that was not because they couldn't do it quicker, it was just a project thing. They were always on top of it. Any time we called them, we got them. Our salesperson was right on top of everything.

The sales rep knew his product and informed me of some things I didn’t know about. I got a 3,000-square-foot building for storage. It's a shop while I work on my 18-wheeler and then, I store off-road vehicles and tools inside of it. I’m happy with it. Neighbors have been coming over and they're interested in going with Olympia also. Everything arrived when they said it would and everything was there. There are detailed instructions if I would have put the building up myself. It was a great experience. Olympia is a little pricier than the other buildings that I looked at but I own a business so the cost at times doesn't matter to me if I'm getting the best product because I'm gonna write it off of my taxes.

The sales and manufacturing were very very informative and always got back to you. The building structure was well designed and installation drawings were very well detailed. The client and building officials was very impressive the completed structure. The installation of the structure does take a little more time to complete but the outcome is very impressive.

I got to know Olympia Steel's salesman well, and he was honest. I worked with him, and if there was a shortage on products when Olympia Steel got the buildings there, when we got to the end, they just sent them down. A good company gives good service. It's what I expect. Also, the quality of the building is very good compared to some of the other ones that I looked at, and the price was similar.

Olympia Steel was horrible. They told me it wouldn't be delivered in six months but that I had to pay X amount down so I could hold that price ‘cause steel was about to go up. I paid that amount down. Then they came back two weeks later and told me if I didn't pay the rest and take the delivery of the bill, I would lose my deposit. Everybody was extremely rude after they made me take the bill. My building sat outside for a year because it wasn't ready to be erected and I couldn't get the representative who referred me to an erector that took 17,000 from me.

Absolutely stay away from this company, they are as shady as it gets. What is especially bad about them is their "head" salesman Steve. We bought a building from them last year, they re-used some of the structural steel from a project that the previous customer had backed out on and lost their deposit or so they say (if you notice this happens a lot with them, those are probably their smartest customers to get out).
Steve is the slimiest salesman I've ever worked with and I was almost dumb enough to buy a Mexico timeshare a few years back from the second slimiest. We negotiated a deal for the building and picked out all the colors just to have him send me the contract with a 10% new construction tax on for my area when it is 2.9% where we live (we know this in and out because we are in construction). He would not drop the tax down even though I sent him information and websites showing it to be 2.9% in our area so I told him we would not sign and would walk away if they don't fix it.
Long story short, they left the 10% tax but dropped the price of the building about 10k to have it come out even, super shady. Now we are almost complete with the building and our landscaper hit and damaged two of our siding panels so we called them up to get a quote so he can pay out of pocket or submit it to his insurance, well, amazing salesman Steve won't email us the estimate so the guy can pay the damages because he said we're the ones doing something shady. Whatever, you guys deserve to be out of business and fast! Please take my advice and don't give these guys one cent.

Working with their rep was very good. I was very happy with the way everything went with them. When I had a 40 by 100 steel building built, they had a factory fire and it was a rough time for them. But they came through and they did everything they said they were gonna do.

Steven has been super helpful. It's been really easy with him. But the delivery was a little bit of a debacle. They showed up a day early and thank God, I was there. But it ended up working out okay. They reimbursed me for having to pay for last-minute help when I wasn't prepared until the next day.

I went with a 7,500-square-foot rectangular building. The rep was willing to do quote, after quote after quote. Over that period of time, we did 11 quotes because things changed as I was going through the process. I needed a 20-foot-add-on to onto a rear corner of the building and he was able to do that. He accommodated every time and worked with me with three different companies that could provide the wall texture that I needed.
It's been a perfectly enjoyable business-like arrangement all the way through, and their flexibility is wonderful. Even the delivery of the building was scheduled out a little bit because we didn't have the property prepared to accept the building on delivery. The building came on two flatbed trucks, and I had somebody there to unload it.

I've got three of Olympia's buildings now - one's a warehouse, one's a freezer, and one's a cooler. I am happy. For one of the buildings, they forgot to send the end cap but they sent it to me next day. They did great.

I was scheduled to do a carport style and put the extra ribs. The guy I was talking to in lining up to get it done quit answering his phone. I got on the internet and saw Olympia. I called and a dude by the name of Kevin answered the phone. He hooked me up, and we went to town with it. I'm glad I decided not to go with the carport style because this is so much better. It cost a little bit more with the way I had to set it up with the concrete. The insulation and reinstallation that belongs to that building are pre-cut. Kevin hooked me up with a dude that Olympia got and helped put these buildings together. It would have taken me a year to put it together but this guy had it up in a week’s time. The building was sitting there before my concrete was done. But everything worked together good.
I love the building. I'm glad I went with Olympia because there's a big difference. This building is strong enough that I can do whatever I want to do in it or on it. I live down in Cumberland, Maryland area, down in the foothills of Allegheny Mountains, and we get 3 or 4 foot snows. I wanted something strong enough to support the weight of the snow. When somebody treats me like Kevin did with respect and to make sure I got the product that I wanted, that means a lot to me. He could have dragged this out for three or four months. But when I talked to this man, everything started clicking. I had a building within five weeks.

I got a 100-foot long by 60-foot wide with three garage bays and steel with an installation package with Olympia Steel Buildings. They were very cooperative. The installation package wasn’t ready, but they got ahold of the installation people, which I was supposed to. They helped cover the situation. They made a call for me and got the installation package because it was separate from their building. All the bolts were there. There were no missing parts. It took them two weeks to put it up. They still came through and on time. I gave them a check but something happened to the check and we had to issue another one two months later. Other than that, everything went about as smooth as could be.

I had some frustrations with Olympia Steel on the outset because the delay in the building arrival was so much further than what the salesman had originally projected. But when it was all said and done and we had talked to a couple other steel building manufacturers, it was the condition of the market and the nation in regards to the steel as a whole. It was unavoidable. Everything else was flawless. Those guys got their act together and gave us the reality check early on in the game. They didn’t lead us along which I appreciated. Once they gave us the revised date which was 24 weeks further, they hit it. I was impressed. We’re using the building and the quality is fantastic. They did a good job on putting together the plan. They were detailed so that the average Joe can follow the plans and instructions and put together the building well.

The front end of the process including dealing with Steve, the guy that sold me the building, was wonderful. He went out and sourced my doors for me. The doors cost almost as much as the building does. The building was $35,000 and the doors were $20,000. When it came to delivery, Olympia Steel sucks. I ordered the building and signed the contract in November 2020 before the price increases happened. They were supposed to be out here in April of last year. I had a shoulder surgery, so I told them they could push it off. They took liberty with it and didn't deliver the building until October.
I gave them a chance to make it right. They missed the delivery date on my building by three times they were supposed to show up. One entire week, I rented a forklift and they didn't show up. They never reimbursed me for anything. There were parts missing in the building I didn't get till four months after the building was delivered. They’re cheap. I spoke with their big corporate guy. He didn't want to refund me my money for the forklift. It cost me a lot of money for that forklift. I ended up buying one because it's $1,800 a week to rent it. It cost 30 grand to buy one.
This was my iron fabrication shop so this is why this is unacceptable. The building isn’t even real steel. They're not doing the fabrication. They're sending this off to some shop in Alabama. It's not being made in Pennsylvania like I thought. I had a guy that was in the shipping department and he wouldn't even answer the phone for me. I've got a buddy that owns a very expensive marina. He wanted a building. Olympia Steel quoted him about $120,000 for it. I called him and told him when they didn't make it right with me. I warned him exactly what happened. The building works and it’s a good value. They’re the cheapest out there but you get what you pay for.

The rep, Steve, was easy to work with. We ordered on December 1st of 2020, and he got right on it. I got the materials in September last year. Our experience has been good so far except for the garage doors. Right now, I'm waiting for some motors. They sent me phase three motors out instead of phase ones, and now I've been waiting a month to even get any response. Steve’s working on it, but the door company’s dragging their feet. But it’s a nice building and I like it.

I had a good experience with Olympia. The only thing I didn't like was that they misrepresented how long it would take to get the building. It took much longer than they indicated. But the product, the completeness and the plans, everything about it was excellent. It was handled very well and professionally. Their rep did a good job.

The drawings were a little bit hard to put together because when you go to do the roof, you’d have to flip back to the wall page to see how the wall landed and there was a lot of that. So the drawings could be a little bit more easier to read. But other than that, the building itself was great, and the service was great. I've had a friend of mine purchased a building through them, and I got another buddy that’s gonna buy one next month from them as well. The out-of-state service really worked for me. The price was great, and the guy I had, Patrick was very patient with me. We went back and forth discussing a lot. I did contact some others, but they didn’t wanna meet the demands that I was wanting.

My experience with Olympia Steel Buildings has been awesome. I love them. They're great. They fit all my requirements for what I need in a joint venture partner to do steel buildings and cleanroom environments under my patent. The projects I use them for are clean room, hermetically sealed glow rooms for the cannabis and food industry. The cost is very fair. They're reasonably-priced and they understand the value of using Agritech with the USPTO patent. They're bending over backwards for their clients, so far. My sales rep, Kristen, is awesome. She's very easy to work with, accommodating, very prompt and very knowledgeable. She gets everything done.

With Olympia, things have been fantastic. I had originally contracted with another company several years ago and they completely failed to deliver all. But I was able to get a garage from Olympia as about the same size and price. They have a better setup on their website and it was easier to plan the structure out and break it out. Also, the representative I worked with was responsive. I could email him or call him and he would get right back to me if he wasn’t available. I explained to him what I was trying to do and he was super helpful in just making sure that I had everything I needed. Then, everything was delivered in perfect condition. The blueprint and everything were easy to read and understand and execute. Also, the quality was excellent.
