I purchased an HP 3-in-one 4280 printer, HP color ink and HP black ink to use with the printer. The printer did not work. I tried to return it along with the ink, and although I have a valid register receipt dated within the time allowed with no damage and unused ink packages, they refused my refund and told me to leave.

My fiance and I had purchased an L-shaped desk for the price of $162.36 (after tax) on November 24, 2009. The desk, we thought, was a great deal. What made the purchase even better was that we were guaranteed delivery the very next day, that's what closed the deal for us because we needed a desk ASAP. I had taken that next day off (a day before the holiday) for the delivery of the desk. As you can see per all of the phone conversations, I had called Office Depot at 3:30PM to get an estimated time of arrival. They stated anytime before 5PM. That is fine. As I was waiting, I called my fiance at 4:50PM. I have not received the desk as of yet. My fiance (Brad) called Office Depot. They told him "we deliver until 7PM".
At this point, I am still waiting at home. Brad received a phone call within the hours of 5-6PM from a third party delivery. They told him the desk is not on the truck. We will receive the desk on Friday, after the holiday. What are we to do? So I took a day off again as I'm waiting for the arrival of this desk. Brad called, they told him "we will deliver within the hours of 8-7". They do not know what time they will arrive. As I was waiting the whole day, we received no desk on Friday. So then, Saturday and Sunday passed. Monday came, at this point, I am pissed (sorry for the frustration). Brad had called after work, which was 5PM. He spent 1 hour on the phone getting the runaround. He had spoken to a supervisor, who stated she will only give us a 10% credit.
What 10% credit? That is a slap in the face. We were guaranteed this desk on 11/25/09. Then she had hung up on him after being on the phone for a whole hour. You've got to be kidding me. I then called when we arrived home. A representative named Manny received the call. I requested a supervisor, then I got hung up on. So then I called again, we have the right to know where and when our purchase will arrive at the house so we can make arrangements on who is staying home from work waiting for this delivery. I called again, I spoke with Malika. She said, "We will receive the desk tomorrow, Tuesday, for sure" and that the third party delivery will call us within 2-4 hours. This was on a Monday evening, which we never received a call.
We did receive the desk at 3PM, Tuesday. But if I would have known we would be treated like crap and being lied to for $162.36, we would not have made that purchase at Office Depot. We were going to purchase the whole set bookshelf and the filer, but we do not want to deal with poor customer service. I'm pretty sure you can see all the phone conversations on file. This is ridiculous. I hope these calls were being recorded so that in the process of training individuals to work for Office Depot customer service, this would be an example on how not to treat customers. In the end of all this, I think to myself as a manager that I would want to make sure every customer leaves my store feeling good about their experience and purchase they made with us. This just shows that there is poor management that doesn't care or expect their employees to perform quality and concierge customer service.

i bought one Canon camera for my friend on Thanksgiving day and one day later, he told me that camera had some problem and he wanted to get his money back. I went back to the store and I talked with the manager to get my money back. But then that manager said he can't give me my money back. Then they gave me the 1800 number to talk with somebody and I did. They said the same things, once it's open, they can't give my money back. Then I told her, "Okay, if you are not giving me my money back, then I am not going to take this camera with me." Then, I left that camera to the store and they can sell that camera again and they can have that money in their pocket. That was $200 worth camera. And I am never going back to Office Depot ever.

I was in Office Depot today and was getting ready to purchase $360 in products. I asked them to take my Staples coupon for 10% off and they wouldn't. I asked for their 1TB USB drive that was on sale and they were "out" with no rain checks available. These companies just don't get it. They were the cheapest in town for the $259.99 Linksys router but since they wouldn't make the 1TB drive good with a substitution or a rain check, I walked out and didn't spend a dime.

In early September 2009, I bought a graphing calculator for my son for school. They were all pretty pricey, in the hundred-dollar range. I called around to the various stores in my area and was told by a salesman at Office Depot that they had them in stock and that they had a $15 rebate. I bought the calculator at Office Depot, filled out the rebate form, and sent it to the address given by Office Depot. Today (11/9), I opened my mail and was surprised to find that my "rebate" is actually a $15 Office Depot gift card that can only be used at Office Depot. I don't call that a rebate. When I called the store manager to complain, he said the card can be used anywhere. I asked him, "by 'anywhere,' do you mean in any store anywhere like a Visa gift card? " His reply was, "No, any Office Depot." In the past, every time I bought something that included a rebate, I was issued a check in that amount, not some kind of a gift card to be used only at that store. I don't consider what is basically a "store coupon" to be a rebate.

We purchased my laptop, along with the 3-year warranty that covered everything that could possibly go wrong with the computer. I sent it in before my 3-year warranty was up. My computer was in pieces and not turning on. They sent it back to me with the sound not turning off, the DVD player not working, and none of the original programs installed. I sent it back in two more times, for the same problems and it came back, broken once again. I have spoke to three different supervisors about the problems and they asked for my laptop to be sent back in. I am a college student and need my computer! I have been without it for almost three months now.

I placed an order for 2 laptops on Sunday morning for in store pick up. On Monday morning, when I tried to pickup the order with the printout of my order confirmation, I was told that they cancelled the order because on sale items are not eligible for in store pick up. However, I never received any email or phone call regarding the cancellation. Worse yet, they're out of stock for the items I was looking for. If in store pick up is not allowed, then why did officedepot.com allow people to place the order?

I placed an online order for a Texas Instrument calculator. The order was delivered the very next day (which I was very pleased with - extremely prompt with the delivery). However, I found out from one of my sons that the model I ordered was not the model he needed for school. I went to return the item to the store on my way to work the next day.
I was told that they cannot take back any order that was delivered and I need to call the toll free number to arrange the return. I called the toll free number and was told that someone will be stopping to pick up the item (anytime between 8:30 - 5:30). When I asked about how the item should be packaged and the label for the package, I was told to address the item to Office Depot (no address, no label, etc.). Another question I posed was how do I know if it's been actually picked up by someone. The person said "she doesn't know". She asked if I lived in an area that had experienced burglary lately or if it's safe.
My complaints are the following:- how can the store not take back items ordered online?
- how can you expect someone to be home to return the item (8:30 - 5:30)?
- how do you not supply return label(s) to track the item to make sure someone actually picked up the item?
I will make sure I never order items online from Office Depot again and make sure everyone I know is aware of the policy. This is one of the most inefficient company that wastes resources (money, time, energy, etc.) when we are all trying to cut cost, time, etc., in this recession.

I ordered a chair online, received confirmation email saying order was being processed. After a couple of weeks with no chair, checked to see status. I was able to find (after much digging), that the chair was due the following month. Not being able to wait that long and with no notice from O.D. in original confirmation that chair would take over a month to deliver, I called to cancel order. I was told by Rep they didn't have "authorization" to cancel? When questioned as to why, she hung up. I called back and got the same story. Now, I have to wait 4 hours for someone from "resolution" team to contact me? Terrible taste in my mouth from this. I can't believe they wouldn't tell me up front it would take so long to deliver and then to not cancel the order weeks before it's due to be delivered? Bad business, terrible disregard for customer and it will make me never spend a dime with them again.

I ordered around 482 pages printed in color from Office Depot store number 2282 for a very important proposal that was due a day and a half from the day I placed the order. I received the order, it was printed wrong. I called OD and was put on hold and tossed around the store for about an hour and a half. Finally, David told me to bring in the documents and they would fix it, but they were really busy with their back-to-school sale right now. I drove 20 minutes back to the store only to find out that their printer was broken. Beth at the print center asked me if I could bring it back tomorrow. I replied, "Absolutely not. I already paid 400 dollars and needed the documents the following morning by 7AM." She attempted to fix the problem, but still didn't know how to load a new cartridge into the printer.
After sitting there for 2 and 1/2 hours listening to the store manager Stephanie yell at the customers and her subordinates, Stephanie told me that there's nothing they can do and laughed as she told me and jokingly told me to have a nice day! Finally, after threatening a lawsuit, she directed me to a store that is 20 more minutes down the road to help. By this point, it is 8:30PM and the store closes at 9PM. Long story short, I wrote customer service at customer.relations@officedepot.com. The senior customer service relations assistant told me that she is sorry and that the store manager from store 2282 will call me to rectify the situation. That was over 8 days ago.
Unbelievable that a chain office supply store can hire and charge such incompetent people to deal with the public. I'm never shopping here or any other Office Depot again. Staples is about another 10-minute drive from the house, but well worth the trip. Goodbye Office Depot!

We ordered some furniture and were given a date of delivery. They required that we give up the whole day since they could not give us an exact delivery time or window, but it would be between 8-6 p.m. give or take 30 minutes on a Friday. After many calls trying to figure out why the furniture did not arrive, we had a couple of reps state that this was an estimated delivery date and that we needed to be available at the location of delivery during those hours; then stated that since it's an estimate, it could take another 2-3 days until delivery.
We thought the problem may have been the individual, but come to find out the following 4 calls in the upcoming 2 days had the same outcome! No furniture, no delivery, and we attempted to re-order if we could only have one date to count on its arrival, but they could not guarantee that it would arrive that day. Also, this item was not on back order, but available here locally at the warehouse. It just makes no sense! The lady I was speaking with hung up on me when I explained that it was unreasonable for any business to require their customers to wait 4 days for a delivery that can take any 1-4 days to arrive at their address. This is just absurd!

I wanted to return an unopened shredder 3 weeks after I purchased it. The supervisor rudely told me that "I'll be getting a gift card", of course, I said why? Well, he said there's a 14 day return policy on electronics. It's a shredder. What exactly is the big deal? Well, I asked to speak to a manager. He came and rudely said "The return will be whatever the system says to give you." I got the money returned to my credit card, but he insisted on telling me the return policy with a rude, obnoxious attitude. How about using some common sense? There's no reason why a shredder should have a 14 day return policy, and everything else has 30 days. I've never heard of something so asinine. Terrible store, I am never going again. I am sticking to Staples where they have written return policy but utilize common sense when implementing it.

On Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, I ordered some school supplies for our daughter from the Office Depot website. I used a debit card to pay for the merchandise. I was told that the materials would be delivered on Wednesday (Aug 5, 2009). That delivery did not occur. On Monday (Aug 10, 2009), I contacted their customer service and was finally informed that there was a problem. I was told that they tried to deliver my order, but needed directions. When they attempted to call, my privacy director blocked the call and so they cancelled the order. Three problems with this: 1. I made this same school supply order last year and it was delivered to the same address where I currently live and there were no problems and no phone calls for directions, either. 2. They made no further attempt to contact me to let me know that there was a problem and 3. I find it hard to believe that their trucks or dispatchers don't have access to MapQuest or GPS. Nonetheless, I spoke with a customer service agent who told me that he would credit my account and reorder. Problem solved? Wrong.
Though I thought he meant to do an in-store credit, he meant that he was sending the debit back to my card which takes five to seven days. Rather, Office Depot simultaneously hit my debit card again with a reorder. So later, I got another call from the credit department telling me my card had been declined. I worked my way up the food chain, and finally got a so-called supervisor at the supervisor's desk. She assured me that all of this is, in fact, my fault and that I just need to eat it. She expressed her displeasure at my tone and told me not to issue her any sort of ultimatum although all I requested was some understanding as to the fact that this is also eating into my time and costing me even more money.
She also let me know that I'm free to shop elsewhere. My only other expectation was some basic customer service, and to not make me suffer additionally because of, as she put it, the system. She also told me that my order was driven from Georgia.
Five to seven business days passed without the money being returned to my card. We're now on "business" day nine (11 days in real time since I was told the money would be returned). I just called customer service again and am waiting to hear back from someone. At what point does their keeping my cash money (a debit card is a cash transaction) without the delivery of any merchandise constitute theft by fraud?

Office Depot advertised an $80 rebate for purchasing QuickBooks Simple Start 2009 between the dates of 6/28-8/31. I purchased QuickBooks Simple Start 2009 from Office Depot on 8/3/09. After submitting my rebate form and information, I was sent an email stating that my rebate was invalid because it "cannot be combined with any other offers unless specified by Intuit". This is a completely bogus reason for denying my rebate as I did not combine the offer with any other offers. I called the Intuit rebate phone line to complain (1-800-201-0845), but the representative refused to validate my rebate, even though he could not provide a good reason for why my rebate was marked invalid. The only thing he said was that it was based on the price which I paid for the product, which is completely unfair because nowhere in the rebate terms does it mention anything about price being a valid reason for refusing a rebate. Office Depot sold me a computer on May 18, 2007. They also sold me a two-year extended warranty to which they told me, would begin after the one year manufacturer warranty. Well this day, August 4, 2009, I took her computer back to the store thinking it was in warranty and was told that the warranty was out because it was not an extended warranty but began the day I bought it. So, I did not have a three-year warranty, to which I was told when I bought it. I had a two-year warranty overlapping the manufacturer warranty. Bottom line is that they lied to me to get me to buy an expensive warranty and they will not fix the computer. They were sorry they said if I was lied to, but that was business.
So be warned, do not buy from Office Depot, they are no better than Circuit City was. And we all know Circuit City did not honor their warranties either. They are out of business and I will never ever buy anything from Office Depot again and I hope they too go out of business. The damages are that I am out of $1,000 on a computer that I thought was covered and now, out of a computer that is needed for school. I will never trust to buy again a useless warranty.

On 7-31-09, I went to this store to exchange some ink cart from my printer (that is another story!) and to purchase some software. While at the checkout, the cashier stated many times over how slow their system was even though they supposedly went through upgrades. Anyway, he was having trouble processing my check. After several tries, he told me he was sorry but that it kept coming up "declined". I took back my check and then paid by another means.
So, I then drove the 25 miles back home to contact my financial institution as I thought perhaps someone accessed my account and cleaned me out! But, the bank told me no, that they couldn't see what the problem would be as there was plenty of funds. I got online and filed a complaint to Office Max. They sent a reply online that they would check into it.
I got a call on Monday from Dawn - mgr. from the store. Her explanation was that the check verifier they use didn't have enough "information" on me to process the account. I told her that I have had the same account for over 20 years and have used checks there before. She checked again and did call me right back, but stated she would need a copy of the check and other information so she could give to the company. I told her I did not want to be passing that info around! I explained that because of what happened to me when I checked out, I thought something criminal was done to me and I had to go and investigate it.
What a lot of trouble! She had wanted me to call the verification company they use so I could check it out with them. I told her I didn't feel that I had to go around and "beg" a store to take my business. I asked her, "Aren't you even going to offer me a gift card or something for all this hassle or to keep me as a customer?!" She reluctantly said she would mail me something, but didn't really want to as she thought "I didn't want to shop there anymore." What a hassle! I asked her if this problem has been happening to other people? She said she didn't know. I wish we had more different places to go and give my business to.

When they received the 2 remote phones and the base unit and phone, they gave me a partial credit for the 2 remote phones. That was July 10th. I called and they told me they would need time to research the discrepancy and would call me back. I called again July 13th. The attendant in the copy center had closed down and turned off the copy machines for his convenience while attempting to close down his department so he could leave. I am very respectful to and genuinely like almost all people. This guy was a total jerk from start to finish. After over 30 minutes of him selling me a copy card and chastising me for using their system incorrectly, he also blamed me for needing him to turn the machine on and for the fact that the machine was not working. He then blamed me for wanting to talk to a manager. The manager folded up in the presence of this overbearing no-mannered, lazy jerk.
I did something I almost never do. I looked up the line to Office Depot Corporate to complain! I happened to like this Office Depot store and have shopped there for years and years but after I was treated badly at the bottom, middle and top management (top management would not even talk!), I decided no more Office Depot for me. I went to Staples down the road and was treated very well. I had not been to a Staples before but now I am their customer for a long time, I predict.

One day after exchanging a defective Office Depot brand ink cartridge, I had to exchange another defective one. The Oriental girl at the register didn't know how to handle it (even though I had my receipt), so she got Terri's attention across the store at the print and copy area. Terri, having been the one to grudgingly exchange the one the day before, rolled her eyes, threw her head back and sighed a deep sigh. After confirming that I was exchanging the cartridge, she said that she would okay it this time. I couldn't believe that I was being addressed in this manner, because I thought you stood behind your products, but because of the resistance I was met with, I bought a Lexmark brand cartridge instead.
I decided then and there that I was through shopping Office Depot. The following morning, I happened to be near the store at 1590 N. Federal Hwy. so I stopped in to return the remaining unopened Office Depot cartridges. The woman at the register I recognized as a long time employee, so I told her the problem I had with the other store. She told me that your Office Depot brand cartridges were guaranteed and that shouldn't have happened. I got your 800 number from her so I could call in my complaint and spoke with Kiara, who assured me that I would receive a call back within 45 minutes. So here I am 10 hours later filing my complaint since I got no call-back.
I feel that I should also mention that back on February 18th of this year, I ordered company laser checks through Terri. When I received them a week later without the logo, I took them back to Terri and she said she would take care of it. Don't ask me why I waited three weeks, but after three weeks, I spoke with Terri (this was on 3/17/09) about not receiving the checks yet. She called the printers right then and there and found out that whatever she had done to try to get me the correct checks hadn't worked. She said she would have to put the order through again. I got a refund right then and there and then called the place I usually order my checks from and placed my order with them. I was seriously disappointed.
I'm not sure if I will stay an Office Depot customer, but I can tell you for sure that I will never step foot in the store where Terri works again. If you don't stand behind your product, then I'm wasting my time shopping at your store. For me, time is money and I don't have any to waste.

I purchased a computer from over the phone from Office Max, received the computer and it was not new. The computer did not have everything in the box and when I turned it on, the screen came up and said, "Leah's computer." I called Office Max. They said that I would need to send it back and they would send me a new one. I sent the computer back. They recharged my debit card a 2nd time for the new computer and told me I would have to wait for a refund for the 1st one. While reordering the new one, the address was corrected for shipping. They told me, "No problem, let me void this 1st transaction and correct the address." They did not inform me that now my debit card was charged for a 3rd time.
It has been one week and my bank is still showing 3 active charges from Office Max. At no time was I prepared or warned that much money would be out of my account for an extended period of time. No one seems to have the answer when they will at least release the voided transaction. I was told 48 business hrs; it has now been 5 business days and still no relief in sight. I have spoken to many people and still no help. My bank suggested 2 reasonable answers that Office Max could do to at least get the voided transaction released. They refused both. Again, all of this transpired because they sent me a used computer in the 1st place. And I am still being victimized. Avoid Office Max at all cost!

On 3/9/2009, I called the Office Depot toll free number to place an order. The male operator began making rude female jests. I requested a different individual to handle the call. He laughed and in a sexual manner stated that there was no one there but him. I said no thanks, and immediately ended the call.
Within minutes, I called the same toll free number and spoke to a different operator at Office Depot. The order was placed, then I requested to have a coupon added to my order. I was told that the order was already processed, and that it was too late to add a coupon. I wasn't aware that I had to mention a mailed coupon before giving my credit card information. Before the call ended, a group of males in the background began making loud references to the call I had made earlier. Overly attempting to annoy me, the male operator's voice gave an impression of rudeness in his call completion statement. I did not make a comment, but called back in twenty minutes and canceled my order.

Note: I have the names of the individuals involved, but will only supply them as needed. I take what occurred very seriously.
On Friday, March 27, 2009, at around 16:15, I went to Office Depot on 1013 W University Georgetown, TX 78628 to search for a small profile computer for which its current specification had the capacity to support a Blu-ray player. I noticed the following Acer X1200-U1640A. I approached the acting manager and asked to see a display. He stated that he did not have that model for display. I asked if he could then pull the specification on the model. The acting manager did so; I reviewed the specification and was satisfied. I asked the acting manager how many of these models he had on hand. He stated that they had several, and then asked if I wanted one. I said yes. We then both proceeded to the checkout center. The acting manager offered an extended warranty, but I said "No, not at this point." We completed the transaction. The item, to the best of my knowledge, was sealed in the box, new and not returned or refurbished. The sale completed at 16:37 for a total price of $324.67.
From Office Depot, I went directly to my home, where I opened the box to inspect the items. After opening, I noticed that the front plate cover was slightly popped open at an angle and was not closing with light effort. I did not want to risk damaging the product so I went back to the store to have the item exchanged.
I returned to the store at around 17:15 and went to speak directly to the same acting manager and showed him the condition of the product. He inspected and concluded that the front cover had merely popped open. He attempted to close the cover using considerable force. That attempt failed. He then attempted to completely remove the front cover. In that attempt, he snapped the front plate, permanently damaging it. He then proceeded to the back to get replacement. When he returned, he stated that the item I had was the last one. He continued to see if the item was available at another location. He stated that he showed only one in the Austin area and asked if I either wanted it delivered to his store or if I wanted to go and pick it up.
I did not want either because of the cost of effort involved, and since there was only one product left, I would be out of luck if their inventory was not accurately updated or if that product was in issue also. I asked, instead, that I be refunded. He refused and stated that it was company policy that no refunds are issued for computers, but that instead, I can either exchange it for the same item or use it as store credit for another computer.
I argued that his store had sold me a defective item and that I did not believe that it was the company's policy to sell a defective item and not offer a refund. I also pointed out that it was he who completely broke the front plate off, making it impossible to fix and potentially voiding any manufacturer claim. He still refused a refund. I then reiterated what had just occurred and his company policy claim. He quickly approached and grabbed my arm. I pulled back and he released me. I told him never to approach me like that. I asked for the manager of the store. He then claimed to be the manager. I then asked for the name and number of his regional manager. He went to the back and complied with my request. I took the information and reminded him of his threat, and to never threaten me again.
I went home and attempted to call and leave a message with the regional manager that the acting manager provided. I was unable to do either, so I made my decision based on all that occurred: due to the refusal to refund on a defective item and fear of physical threat, I concluded that I should report the incident to corporate. I contacted the Office Depot's customer affairs and reported the incident. According to the representative, they will be reviewing the case.

In 11/5/08 I went to Office Depot to buy a computer. There was a really good deal on the Office Depot magazine that week - NO INTEREST and NO PAYMENTS until January 2010 for ALL CREDIT CARDS ACCOUNTS. For that reason, I applied for the Office Depot credit card account and I bought a computer. I started getting by mail my Office Depot credit card statements. I noticed instead of "No Payments, No Interest until January 2010," the statement says "No Interest, No payments for 6 MONTHS!!!" I called the credit card telephone number and they sent me to go to the store. I went to the store and they sent me to call 1-800-Go-Depot. Again they sent me to the store.
One of the managers tried to help me a lot, but with no luck again. And again I had to call the credit card number. I don't know the name of the representative who tried to help me, but what a surprise when she told me, "You have 60 days to look for wrong information on your statement." Since the two protection plans (Office Depot's and HP's) are concurrent, I lost a whole year on my protection plan because they never told me about this until a year and a half AFTER I purchased it.

I called to have the correction fixed and was assured that my order would still be delivered on Wednesday. Wednesday came and no delivery. I called to ask why; I was put on hold for at least 10 minutes. I called back only to get hung up on and then finally spoke to a human to find out the order had been lost in the warehouse. I was about to cancel the order but decided to wait.
On Thursday morning, I called to inquire whether the order would be delivered. I asked for a return phone call by 8:30 that morning. At 9 am, I called them and it took 20 minutes for them to locate my furniture. The lady was rude and offered to refund me $60. I agreed. It took a week to get my money returned to my checking account. Apparently, there are numerous steps to get a refund which I was NOT informed of. I purchased a Compaq laptop computer from Office Depot and purchased from them a performance protection plan which expired in 11/08. I received the box and I called back and asked if I could just send back the power cord because I was able to charge my laptop with someone else's power cord so I was able to confirm that the power cord was not working. I was told that they would send me a box for the power cord so that I could send it to them. Weeks passed and I did not receive the box, so I called back to inquire. The person I spoke to called and apologized for the delay and said that they would be sending me a box.
Once again, weeks passed by and I still did not receive the box. I called back in November and I was told that they actually needed me to provide them with the part # of the power cord and then they would send a replacement. I was not able to find the power cord until this weekend, so I called today to provide them with the part number and I was told that the claim had been closed and that since my policy had expired, they could not replace the part. I don't think that they have been fair because I was not informed that there was a time period that I had to call back with the information. I was also told by the last person that I spoke to that the claim would remain open until it was resolved even though the policy had already expired because I submitted the claim before the policy expired and it had not been resolved.
I honestly believe that they are trying to get out of honoring my claim and blaming me for not getting back to them soon. I reviewed the Terms and Conditions of the policy and it does not mention anything about there being a time frame for getting back to them with information. The reason why it's taken so long to begin with is because I was given incorrect information by their representatives and then they turn around and blame me. I did not once receive notification from them that they were closing the claim. I believe that it is something that they should do. But of course they don't want to have to pay so they blame the customers.

After many years of purchasing products in this chain of stores, I have never had such a horrible experience until now. The issue was with the store manager whose name is **. This was a young fellow who has the worst customer service ever. My mother and I had bought a Norton Antivirus 2009. When we inserted the CD, the software seemed to have a problem. Norton prompted me that we no longer could renew the Norton Antivirus by itself and that were obligated to purchase the internet security. The purchase was made cash. I went with my receipt and the only thing we requested was to exchange the software for the Norton Internet Security. I was willing to pay more money in order to receive something that would fulfill my needs.
Instead of at least hearing out the customer, the store manager ** spent a couple of minutes trying to get rid of me without even listening and letting me explain why I wanted to return the product. This really upset me. I, as the customer, have the right to at least explain the situation why I was there to return and request an exchange. I was not requesting my money in return. This was something that would benefit both parties. I would pay them more money for a software and I would receive the software that Norton requested me to purchase. However, this was not the case. The store manager ** was very rude, treated me as an ignorant human being, did not have any type of respect for my mother (who is a 60-year-old woman with a heart condition) and for myself (an engineering graduate who runs his own company), which I asked politely to resolve my matter, until he started to insult us and demanded we leave the store immediately because we were taking his precious time from work. We stated we could not leave until he resolved our issue.
How can someone in this type of position be so evil and not treat people with respect? All we were asking for was for respect, courtesy and to satisfy the customer's needs. The store manager ** got aggressive and threatened that if we did not leave the store, he would call the police on us. Can you imagine a store manager with the name of ** from Office Depot, who probably did not surpass 24 years of age, treat my mother the way he did? We were humiliated in front of all the customers for this young punk who said, "Get out of my store or I'll call the cops." This type of behavior should not be tolerated from anyone in this position, in any place of business. I will let my voice be heard until justice has prevailed.

And I said I am about to ship some stuff and he told me to leave the store. I asked him why? and he said he wasn't obliged to tell me the reason. I asked him what was my crime and what have I done that made you tell me to leave the store. And he replied "You know what you did." I got so mad at him because I think just because I shop there so often and I go to their copy center lots of times, it made him think that I was a potential thief. Anyway, I was still angry and called the police. Now this is where it got interesting. Police came and listened to my side and his side and then the officer told me "The law states that any private business has a right to refuse service to anyone they choose to".. This was just so embarrassing but Office Depot won't be getting my business anymore and Staples will be new option now.

I purchased an Ink Cartridge for my Printer and used my debit card for payment. I purchased a new printer before I used the new Cartridge at another store. I took the ink cartridge back along with the receipt to Office Depot within 3 days of purchase. The clerk had no problem returning the item what they did have a problem with is giving me cash for the refund. The clerk and store manager said they could not give me cash is had to be credited back to my debit card and would be applied back to my account by midnight.
First, of all a debit card is considered a CASH transaction. I have never had a store refuse to give me back cash when a debit card was used. Second, of all it is now 3 A.M. and my account has not been credited back the amount of the refund. When asked for the Corporate Contact the Clerk stood back with a disgusted look on his face while the Manager acted like I was a real Pain. I understand NO ONE gets anywhere with Corporate anyway, so why bother contacting them. Probably, the reason for the attitude from the employee and Manager. I will never Purchase another item at Office Depot. I returned another item at their competitor's Office Max and had absolutely No Problem and even received a smile and Thank You from the employee.

I bought a display model laptop. At that time, it was working fine. The sales rep turned off the computer and began removing the unit from the shelf. Then brought it to the rear of the store to box it for me. I paid for it and they stamped on the receipt no returns because that store was going out of business. Thirty minutes later, I had returned home and the screen was damaged/not working. I returned to the store within 1 hour of the sale and they tell me it is my problem - Call the manufacturer and let them handle it. The manufacturer says Office Depot needs to give you your money back but they refuse. The Screen has Pixel damage which may be due to the cross bar which restricted the chance of lifting it off the shelf in the store.

The last phone call I was told there is nothing they can do, but to keep putting the information into the compute, but if it mails it out wrong, I will just have to keep trying. After receiving no communication, other than an order confirmation, Office Depot cancelled my order. The order was for a computer that was priced well below competitors. Almost too good to be true. I did receive an Order Confirmation that day that stated shipping confirmation emails will provide details on all shipments. No Shipping confirmation emails were ever received. They say they attempted delivery twice (never notified me) and cancelled the order due to no one being home. The requirement of someone accepting delivery was never stated in the order confirmation that I received. When I called to inquire about setting up another delivery, I was told the offer was now void and I would have to pay a (MUCH) higher price than my original order. The lack of communication, lack of delivery notification, and only customer service resolution involving paying a higher price seems deceptive.

Office Depot's ad on Sunday, 11/16/08 offered a Toshiba Satellite Notebook Computer with 4GB memory and a 320GB hard drive for $549.99. I immediately went online and ordered 3 of them which was to be delivered on Wednesday, 11/19/08. On Wednesday, I did not receive them. I tracked my order online which said it was on hold for LPR. I emailed Office Depot asking what that meant and received an email stating that I would receive a response within 24 hours. On Thursday, 11/20/08 I received a second email from Office Depot stating the following, "We have forwarded a Customer Resolution Form to your local Distribution Center and you will be contacted within 24 hours. I attempted to contact them by phone and was disconnected on two occasions because the customer service department allegedly could not hear a caller on the line. When I went searching online for the laptop, the deal was changed to an in store deal only.
On 11/21/08 I received a call from Office Depot saying that the delay was because they are concerned about fraud and checking the transaction. When I stated that they already received approval from my credit card company, she repeated the same. I questioned why I was never contacted about the delay in delivery or the checking into the transaction and she could not respond to that. I asked to speak with someone in the credit department and she asked if I would like a manager to contact me; I said yes.
In the meantime, I logged on to check the status of the order and to my surprise, my order had been deleted! I tried once again to speak with an agent on the phone but was unable to get past the automated system. Honestly, I am relieved that the order was canceled. I checked with my credit card company and the transaction was never processed. I will NEVER do business with Office Depot again!

I purchased a leather office chair made in China (of course) with the Office Depot label. After a few weeks I noticed I developed some strange blisters/sores on the backs of my knees (they didn't hurt or itch - weird) and a rash on the back of my neck that did itch. I realized that my problems started when I started using the chair. I believe I had a staph infection on my legs, but luckily I was taking an antibiotic for sinus problems and it along with antibiotic cream took care of the sores.
I searched the internet for any other problems with leather products from China and found there were numerous complaints of the same type of sores/rash, and they were the result of a chemical put on the leather to prevent mold. The chemical leached onto the person's skin with contact. This method of applying the chemical is not used in the U.S. it seems. No one tests this toxic crap that is made in China before it hits the U.S. market. It should be mandatory!

Why I will never buy another thing from Office Depot. Every time you advertise a good deal on a computer, your stores never have them. When those stores call other stores, those other stores never have. Then your sales reps tell me "Oh that's been discontinued." So why advertise it. Every time I order something from Tech Depot that was advertised in print or on your site, I get told "Oh that's been discontinued."
My last order: Purchased online from OD website for store pick up, charged 899.99, although your phone reps say I wasn't. Call me the next morning, state that the store I want to pick computer up doesn't have any and I cannot get on delivered because ummmmm, "It's been discontinued." Call store: "Store has 2, we'll hold it for you," GREAT!!!! But since OD online is holding $899.99 (901.00 actually) I can't pay for new computer. Ask OD online to call my credit card company to release the hold, poor English speaking rep tells me that my card was not charged, ummmm my cc says it was, 901 hold pending could take 3-5 days to drop off. CC company says, "we'll gladly drop the hold immediately if OD calls and provides some info," and I can buy computer immediately. Again OD rep speaking poor English tells me that my card wasn't charged.
Called store for assistance, guy tells me "Sorry this kinda stuff happens all the time, and there's nothing I can do." At least I could understand him. This year Best Buy and Staples will get all my computer business, which I plan to buy one nice desktop, 2 laptops, an LCD projector, a 42 inch HDTV, and related software titles. All by Christmas.
No matter how irresistible your prices are, no matter how many tempting emails I get, I would rather pay more from a Store or Website that provides quality customer service, consistent prices between Web and Store, and actually carries the products they advertise, not discontinuing them the day the ad hits the streets. Thank you for making this so easy for me.
Remember: If I have a good experience, I will tell 2-3 people by word of mouth, and none via the internet. If I have a bad experience, I will tell 10 by word of mouth and MILLIONS via the internet. Thank you Al Gore, thank you for inventing the internet so I can tell the world about crappy retailers and their lack of realizing that without happy customers, the only ones that are happy are the bankruptcy vultures.

Then eight days later I took the Laptop back and was told to take it to a Toshiba Dealer and get it tested and that they would then decide on changing it. I came back the same day with the report and was told that they would change it completely. They then told me that they had none in stock that I'd had to wait for some 2 weeks which I did. so i called max and they said it doesnt fit in the 3 repair lemon policy as it hasnt been fixed (no repair was made) they told me. they been out 3 times installing parts, my pc has been down almost 3 months and you say there hasnt been a repair made. then they tell me that barrister has a 90 day warranty on there service and at the end of that 90 days if the pc isnt fixed, then that will count as 1 service and we would open a nother service that will hold me hostage another 90, and so on. so i can be without my pc for 9 months and it wouldnt get replaced under the lemon policy.
the way they conduct business is beyond me. they are coming out to install another hdd and more ram today(parts already been replaced). this in my mind will be the 4th service performed on this pc, but in there mind there has not been a service completed. i bought this warranty because they said that after a tech has been to my home 3 times to fix and unable to it would be replaced. but they fail to tel you they contract out the service to barrister and a tech be out 100 times within 90 days and that dont count as completed service. maxassurance is a scam, my pc is down for 3 months and not fixed, and it doesnt look like it will be fixed within the next 6months either.

I purchased an OfficeMax executive office chair, less than three years ago. But for much of a year now, it's level-setting mechanism has failed almost daily, requiring that I climb up out of the chair, and re-adjust it. Again. Often repeatedly.
Finally recalling that I had purchased an OfficeMax so-called MaxAssurance guarantee after being assured by the OfficeMax clerk - and the big print in their propaganda brochure - that If your product fails, we will arrange to
have it repaired and pay the bills ...
SILLY me! I actually believed what the brochure and the clerk said. But what the big print (and verbal assurances) gave, the fine print (and it's VERY fine!) took away:
Seems the only things they cover on chairs is casters breaking and upholstery seam separation! The MaxAssurance phone-drone even told me that what USUALLY fails on OfficeMax chairs, is their hydraulic level mechanism! Which she hastened to state was NOT covered.
I'm stuck with a chair less than three years old that's best only for midgits!
Needless to say, I will NEVER do business with either of these scam operators again!

Upon arrival, the store manager Tyrone responded and treated everyone who presented a purchase order/receipt with poor customer service and a poor attitude.
Although I understand that the store manager may have tried to explain the situation at hand many times before already, I felt that I should have deserved better customer service than what was presented to me. Not only were the customers in the store denied what they had purchased legally, but we were lied to as well. The store changed their response multiple times, stating it is not valid, then its not in stock, and finally its an error. When we went to view the item, the chair itself had multiple tickets that had the TAKE ONE to the counter for purchase. The manager had also said that the coupon we used was not valid until 07/18/2008 and that the sale price of the chair will end on 07/17/2008 and the chair will go from the sale price from $99.99 back to $169.99.
Upon further review of the chair, the item was clearly labeled to be on sale through 08/23/2008 and I have a print out of the coupon that clearly states valid THROUGH 07/19/2008 Now Office depot is not honoring the sale as it states that they sold the product in error. That they did not intend to advertise the product at that price.
product has not been received yet, my credit card is still charged.

Sent a Toshiba laptop to be repaired under an extended warranty. While in the care, custody and control of Office Depot (or their contracted repair company - Equipfix), the hard cover on the computer was cracked. It's a tiny, hairline crack but it is growing. The crack obviously happened when the case was being popped open to do the repairs -- it did not happen during shipping.
The Office Depot personnel have told me the warranty does not cover scratches and cracks which are considered cosmetic. They do not seem to realize that the crack occurred due to their fault and I want it repaired! The repair company has told me they do not work on computers with cracks but would simply send it back to me if they received a computer with a crack so the remainder of my warranty appears to be void. The crack seems to be going to to spread across the bottom of the computer and I cannot say if the computer will continue to work.

Called office depot, claimed they never received, resent it. Called again allowing a few weeks for process, still claim they didn't receive it. Mailed a 3rd time, called today and still nothing. I don't think one should have to send in a rebate form 3x and I highly doubt they never received it. I only bought the laptop because it had a rebate.
Wouldn't say total economic damage but I'm a single Mom and really need that $135.

This store always overcharges at the register. The price at the register is not what is in the aisles. Of my last 5 trips in - 5 overcharges at the register. They always use the same excuse: we are short handed and we haven't got every item into the computer yet. I think they are intentionally ripping off consumers and should be stopped in their tracks.

After spending two hours waiting for one of your representitives to place my order, I was told that the delivery would take about 6-10 days, and that the delivery would be free. The delivery date was for the 16 of May, 2008. I didn't have to pay for the deliver, however, I called customer service 3 weeks after I placed the order and was told that it was scheduled to be delivered on the 9th of June. I was willing to wait, but after the 9th day passed I made a phone call and asked for the manager, who was completely oblivious about my order.
He called back an hour later, and asked for me to fax him the paper work. I was told the delivery people would call me the following day. I got the call the next morning, and received my delivery! Little did I know that after 3 hours of assembling, I was missing the main base to hold up the product. I called the manager, Mr.P, and he didn't have an answer for this. He refered me to a man named "Ken", because he supposedly had more knowledge about furniture. I once again explained the situation to "Ken", and was again called that I would be "called back that same day".
I waited for another 3 days, after not receiving a phone call, so I went back to Office Max to speak to a manager. The manager was Mellisa S or Rose E, I explained the enitre process and offered me $25 off $350 to buy the bottom portion, and I refused because it was out of my planned budget, because when I ordered I signed for the price of $361.24 for the entire unit, and all I wanted was what I signed, asked, and was guaranteed for. The manager made insulting remarks asking if I "seriously thought I was going to buy that product for that price?", but that question shouldn't have been ever asked because not only is it unprofessional, but she was completely at fault because the sales person whom presented the product to me informed me that asking price was $344.96 and $361.24 with tax.
If the problem would have been adrressed professionally from the start, I would have been more understanding, but there was no professionalism and I, as the customer, felt that the situation was treated completely the wrong way. The manager then asked for me to return the top part, and I was unable to because the size of the product is too big for my car, and so she said that she was going to have someone sent out to my house to pick it up. It has now been a week and half, and I'm still waiting for the product to be picked up. I have received no phone calls, so this was the neccesary step to take because this whole situation is out-of-hand.

Here is a copy of the complaint letter I sent to Office Depot
I am writing to you as a very disgruntled customer that was foolish enough to believe your customer satisfaction guarantee and purchased one of your products, a Magnavox 42? Plasma TV. I purchased this unit from your store #2486 in Langhorne, PA on March 25, 2007 along with the extended warranty. Big mistake!
On or around March 24, 2008, the picture quality began to diminish considerably and a thick green line began to appear constantly along the left side of the screen. I immediately contacted your Performance Protection Plan center to file a claim. I was told by the agent that a technician would contact me within 3 days to schedule a visit to my home to inspect the tv.
After 2 weeks, no phone call. I called again and was told that a technician would contact me within a week. He did call and scheduled an appointment for the following week. He showed, inspected the tv and stated that he needed to order parts. He said he would order parts and they would arrive at my house in 1 week and to call him to come back and make the repairs. That was 9 weeks ago. No parts, no tech, broken tv.
In fact, the television is in such a state of disrepair greater than it was back in March. Since the tech visit, I have called a total of 4 times to get an update on the status of my claim. All 4 times, your agents were rude and disrespectful to me because I actually had the audacity to ask them why my tv is broken and why wont they fix it. How dare me.
Since your company refuses to honor its own satisfaction guarantee, I have filed a claim with my local Better Business Bureau. I have been more than patient in trying to work with you through this matter but it is clear that you have no intention whatsoever in doing the right thing. Hopefully, they will get you to see the error of your ways. I have also begun to blog quite extensively on many consumer complaint websites about your company and this situation. Since youve been so kind to me the very least I could do is get you some free press. Please note that I will do whatever it takes to get my money back from your company and can rest assured that I will never buy another Office Depot product again.

Now Staples has it starting today for 99.98. I went to the store, they said they couldn't price match since it was bought online, that we had to call you. I did and they said they can't match it.
Now I am forced to return this to you and buy it at Staples???? This is NOT the way to do business. We buy all of our supplies from you for our company including a lot of Impress services, but if we cannot receive the 30.00 credit on our account, we will be forced to purchase ALL of our products elsewhere. You folks are making it hard to do business with you and making the customer jump through a lot hoops! The store said we could NOT return it to them since it was bought online. Yet, your policy clearly states on your website: In-Store Returns Products that are purchased online may be returned to an OfficeMax store location for a credit refund. Products may be exchanged if the originally purchased product is in stock at that store location.
So essentially we have to return it, then buy another one? Ok, but they won't let me!!!! The right hand doesn't seem to know what the left hand is doing Then they tell me once it leaves your shipping dept., they will only honor price matches on YOUR ads. Wait, it wasn't MY fault the store didn't have it in the first place when YOU advertised it last week. Now we are being punished for buying it from you! We DO NOT want to have to return this to you if we don't have to...please work with us here!!!! Is it worth losing a customer over 30.00?

To save a few dollars, my husband & I decided to try Office Max ink cartridges instead of the name brand HP & Lexmark. We purchased the two-pack with black & color ink. Went home, my husband couldn't get the color ink to work. He took it to his IT guy at work thinking it was his printer. IT said the Office Max cartridge was either broke or just empty. Lucky for my husband, it was within the 30-day exchange policy. He exchanged his purchased for an HP and will never buy Office Max ink again.
It made me think, I had Office Max ink in my printer and have never used the colored cartridge (I have it set to print black only). So, I thought since I had to go back to Office Max for my husband, I will check the colored ink to make sure it works, no such luck. A brand new colored ink cartridge I paid $25.00 for never used once.
So, I brought it into Office Max WITH MY RECEIPT. I told him my situation and how the cartridge has been in printer for several months but I never used it. He could have cared less. He didn't look at it. He didn't check it over, he did nothing. So, once again I went out of my way for nothing. He said it was after the 30-day exchange and there is nothing he can do. He didn't care that I had spent my money in there and got nothing for it... My fault for not checking the ink on day one. My fault for trusting that Office Max would take care of me as their customer. I mean really, $25.00 to Office Max is chump change to them so, you would think they would just want to make the customer happy. I would be scared to death to buy something expensive like a camera, printer or furniture from them. After day 31 if you have problem it's your tough luck and you are out of money. Thirty days is ridicules. If you buy a defective product from any company, you should be able to return it.

I bought a Toshiba A215-S4747, 15" laptop back in October of 2007 for $802.49, and was told at the time of purchase that there was a rebate of $150 on the laptop. All I needed to do was submit my receipt along with their mail-in rebate form to the address listed on the form. The rebate was supposed to run from Oct 21 - Dec. 1. I mailed the info by the Wednesday of the following week I purchased the item, which was Oct. 31, 2007, well within the given time frame to receive the rebate. On the form it said it could take up to 90 days to process the rebate, and you were told not to contact them until after the 90 days was up. So, I waited. In Feb. I sent an email to their online customer rebate area because when I checked their online tracking system for my rebate to see when it would be processed, it came up no information found. This alarmed me, as I had sent over everything during the time frame, and had heard nothing from them.
Someone, Buzz B., contacted me on my email, and asked that I send over some additional information which I did. They gave no time frame at the time of my request, saying if I didn't get right back to them on my request they couldn't process my rebate or anything, so I didn't get right back with them immediately. Got busy, went out of town, and just went through things this past weekend to collect all that they asked me to send them over. Someone, Gladys M, writes back on today telling me sorry, rebate is over, and sorry for my inconvenience--basically, better luck next time. This never would have happened had they not told us to wait 90 days before contacting them in the first place on our rebate. I am seriously put out, and want to do as much as is possible to see that no one else falls into this same trap.
Mainly, my damages are being out of the $150 that I was promised in return on an item I bought from them in good faith.

There store policy is 14 days and I came in on 2-26-08, day 15. The manager told me not our problem, call HP. I called HP and I was told I need to have it connected up to my computer. I explained it would not run. So I tried the printer again, it jammed and will not work, with no possible way to clear the paper jam on this model without servicing. The software program I used Print Shop did not give choices for paper thickness, so now HP so far is telling me the you need to select the proper paper type when setting the print driver up. This is fine if it had a manual, and If some oneelse at any time decides to put a different type of HP aproved paper in your HP printer, it jams and your out of action again. I figure I spent about $54 dollars a print and have nothing to show for it.

Asked if I could see the warranty and they showed me a cd-rom disc that they claimed had all the information they had just informed me of. The printer broke just over one year after purchase and I just purchased over $300 in laser cartridges a couple days before it broke. I contacted the warranty provider. I was told they would not honor what was verbally told to me because my purchase was one penny less than what their allowance would allow for the printer to be repaired, even though I was assured by the salesperson in the store that I would have no problem. (I paid $499.99 and their minimum was $500.00)
I caved and told the warranty company that I would accept the gift card for my purchase price and asked them to also reimburse my tax as well as the balance of my warranty to be prorated and refunded and they told me it was not in the warranty to do so. I read the warranty on the cd they gave me at time of purchase and it does not state that anywhere in the warranty. They proceeded to tell me that I would receive my return labels to return the printer in 7 days. That was on Feb 1, 2008 and when I called them to ask why I have not received it, they told me they had not yet sent it out and that I may receive something in 6 weeks. I am afraid they will not honor my warranty and wait until my warranty runs out this year and then I will be out a printer and $499.99 + tax + unused time on the warranty. The people I have dealt with are pleasant to deal with but refuse to give me any stable information of what options I have if I do not receive what the warranty allows. They only say that they are working to resolve this and are generic in what they tell me. Please advise me on this as it is not an amount to go into legal action and as a business owner I have little time to battle with retail stores over a warranty. Any help you can give me would tremendously be a gift...Thank you...
The mental stress of dealing with this warranty company who is portraying themselves as the enemy is causing me undue stress that I don't need. They are treating me as if I am trying to get something for nothing and all I want is what we agreed to. If they did not want to honor the agreement they should never have offered it to me. The lady who answered Office Max's main line sounded like she should have just answered, "Welcome to Office Max, I obviously don't care at all about you, so hurry up and tell me who I can push your call off to." That, or she was just plain wasted (common in WV) and shouldn't have been at work at all. When she redirected me to CopyMax, I was on hold for over 30 minutes before I gave up. It does not take 30 minutes to get a call from one side of the store, a total of 1000 ft., to the other side of the store. It's completely ridiculous. I think that if they can't cater to something as simple as their customer's PHONE CALLS, then they should not be in business at all. If you can't do the job or show any interest in doing it to satisfy the customer -- don't market it.
My friend needed these business cards really soon. I called a less popular printer, but they actually cared about the customer, and had them printed there. However the job was completed late because of the delays from CopyMax/Office Max, which made his business suffer somewhat.

When I went to pick it up, of course they did not have it and had not had them in stock for some time. From now on when I need supplies or other items I will visit the Staples across the street from the Office Depot in my home town. I am hoping that the Christmas gift ordered from Office Depot will arrive on the 26th. However, I do not hold out much hope.

In December of 2005, my husband purchased a Kodak digital camera with a two year extended warranty. He was told that should anything happen to the camera just call the number on the form and it would be taken care of. They did not specify anything. When the camera was accidentally dropped we found out that dropping was not considered anything and was not covered under the extended warranty, so we ended up with a camera that no longer worked and a year left on the extended warranty and no refund of that year's warranty.

I bought a Lenovo Laptop at Office Depot during black Friday, online. I ordered my laptop in the morning and the order went through; I printed out my order with the price and my billing address, and last four digits of credit card number I provided to make the purchase. Same day my friend placed an order for the same type laptop after me. He received his after a couple days, and I was awaiting mine I never received it. I thought maybe holiday time it will take a few more days to receive it.
Finally I decided to call the customer service to track my order, and they said it was short shipped. They offered me to reorder it but they said they couldn't provide me the mail-in rebates I was originally going to get. So I made three calls, and at the end customer service told me they would send me the laptop with the same order number so with that way I would get my mail-in rebates. I regret that I didn't note the reps' names. After a few days, still nothing. I called again and unfortunately there was no record of conversation that took place from a week before, so I had to start explaining the same stuff over again. They had no power to fix anything. All they do is give me fake apologies.
I felt cheated. They made me believe I was gonna get the laptop, but I found out the reality. It is just so irritating, and made me mad because there is nothing I can do to get this fixed beside not shopping from Office Depot again.

I placed an order at my local Office Max for a credenza desk, hutch and two lateral file cabinets. I was told that they would place my order but I needed to contact the 1-800 Office Max number so they could provide me with a estimated delivery date. they asked me to provide my email address and phone number that I could be easily accessible. They indicated that once the warehouse shipped the product they would send me an email confirmation indicating that the product had been shipped and an expected delivery date. I also asked if the delivery driver could call me at a minimum an hour before to ensure that someone would be home the date they delivered it.
I never received an email confirmation indicating that the product was shipped and therefore was unaware that the product was being delivered. I also never received a call from Office Max or the delivery driver. The date that the product was delivered I was away on a trip. The delivery driver proceeded to leave all 6 extremely large boxes on my front porch. I never signed nor ever gave permissions to Office Max to leave $600 worth of furniture on my front porch.

Paid $450 for extended warranty that covered a laptop for 3 years. I was told in the store that no matter what happened to the computer it was covered. The hard drive crashed and Office Depot refuses to repair it. It was dropped a month after I purchased it (it was in the case) and sustained damage around the charge portal. It worked for another year and then the hard drive crashed. They claim it that the hard drive was damaged then and they were sorry but I was out of luck.

OfficeMax advertised an item on their website, I placed an order and they confirmed it with an e-mail. Then a second e-mail confirmed that the order was being sent transmitted to their delivery center. Then 6-8 hours later they sent an e-mail saying the item was incorrectly priced and the order had been canceled. According to their terms and conditions there is a contract between the customer and OfficeMax once the order has been received and confirmed. I want my product at the price they advertised and accepted my order for.

Since I purchased a bookshelf on Wednesday February 21, I have been treated poorly. I was promised a delivery on Thursday, Feb. 22 and had stayed home the entire day, but no delivery was made. So I called and was promised a delivery on Tues. Feb. 27 between the hours of 8:30 and 12:30 but no delivery was made. Each time I had called, I received an extremely mean representative. I had paid cash for a product that was never delivered. Each time I spoke to a representative, with the exception of one rep., I was told that they would need to re-order the product, even though I had not cancelled the order on any day.

On October 4, 2006 I responded to an ad for a new computer with 2 mail-in rebates. One for $50.00 and one for $170.00. The $50.00 rebate was received as advertised. The $170.00 rebate has not been received to date. I have repeatedly checked the Office Depot rebate website to see what the status of my claim is. The website has shown for months that I have successfully completed 3 of 5 steps to get the refund, and that a check request for $170.00 is pending.

In June 2006, I purchased two computers at Office Depot. My purchase decision was based on the rebates offered - two on each computer, one from HP and the other one from Office Depot.
I have received my rebate from HP, but it has been more than 4 months and I still have not received the rebates from Office Depot. The only excuse that they have is that they received the form a couple of days late, which I state is not true. It seems to me that Office Depot is in the business of ripping people off, and from what I have read, they do it all the time.
I have lost $150 from the first rebate and $200 from my second purchase.

I purchased an HP Officejet 7410 Color Flatbed printer All-In-One for a total of $536.24 and thats including tax. I was to receive it on 02/17/06 at home and I did not receive it because they came at 10:30am and I was at work. So then I called that same day to ask if I can pick it up at the store or if they can change the address to have it delivered to my work. I was replied to with no and the lady at the customer service did not evern ask for my order number and just told me they would deliver it the next business day and hung up.
So I was upset from then on and called in again and this lady was more professional and did ask for my order number and stated to me that it would be deliverd on monday 02/20/06 which was a holiday and she did confirm that they still will deliver it. I was asured that it would come so I waite home all day because I was off work and called twice that day on 02/20/06 to make sure if they were coming to deliver the printer and I was assured both times that it was on its way and one operator stated to me that It could be up to 7:00pm since they were an outside contractor delivery.
It came to be 4:30pm on 02/20/06 and never received a call from my front gates to get in my gated home. I called back and was told that I was not at home from their delivery driver. Which was a lie because to get in they have to call me to let them in or get in if another car is driving in at the same time. I was informed by the supervisor during my last call that I would receive a refund with in 7days, which did not occur.
