To my disappointment at the Marlton, NJ Marshalls I was belittled and treated with a racist named Lorraine and Gio. Items purchased on occasion for donations for Animal Shelters, Women’s Shelters & Senior Citizens Facilities. Unfortunately some items are not accepted due to certain regulations. Previously to purchasing I inquired if returns were accepted if items were not accepted at the facilities would I be able to return? They assured me yes as long as accompanied by original receipt. The items that were not allowed at the facilities were taken back with original receipt with tags still on items “Nothing was tampered with “. The associate looked at the items and started the return and open up each item still with the “factory seal“. I asked, "Excuse me the items were not even opened. Why would you open them for the next person not to purchase. It's been tampered with now?"
Gio laughed and said “ People like you always…" Then she calls Lorraine. She put her glasses on, looked at me and shook her head, “You people are always trying to get over…” I did not even know how to respond. I said, "I will contact Corporate as your behavior is unacceptable." They laughed and Lorraine said “Go ahead. My name is Lorraine ** and I will call too! They will believe me over YOU! I will not accept your returns. Now GO!" Corporate did absolutely nothing! An Attorney will proceed with this case. -0 rating. Will not recommend.

I love shopping at Marshalls especially around the holiday season and I was just at Marshalls in Fremont Ohio hoping to find a unique gift. But I found something completely different instead. It's upsetting to say this but as I was shopping I seen a employee walk up where about where I was shopping at and said, "She's got some nerve shopping here." I was in disbelief with her behavior and I feel her actions should be held accountable to the point a customer should be compensated.

Many years ago it was a fine store where there were good expensive brands represented well. With time it downgraded so much and last two years it became just junk yard - clothes are cheap and looking raggy. It reminds me now of Goodwill store or One Dollar store. I don’t even want anything to try on. Cheap cheap cheap. What happened with used to be a good store? New management? Why would anyone want to make so bad out of anything so good?

I will never order online from here again. They continue to ship the wrong items, in 1 shipment that came in 3 separate shipments I had 4 wrong items. The first time I called they gave me a refund even though I said I didn’t want a refund, I wanted the correct items. Nope! Made me order it again and pay the shipping then call them and try to get a refund on shipping. 2nd box arrived and one of the hoodies was a medium even though order AND receipt said small. In the same order I had pants with all the tags ripped off and thrown in the bag. I had to drive an hour and a half round trip to try to take back at the store because customer care was awful. Today I received my final box and you guessed it…wrong item. Had to go through the whole process again. That was enough for me to not ever order from there again. They need to get it together.

I am extremely disappointed with the service at this Marshalls location - Carmel Mountain, San Diego. The staff, including the shift manager, were shockingly rude and displayed an unprofessional, "could care less" attitude. The long waits at checkout are frustrating enough, but when it was finally my turn, I stood to the right of the cash register (as there's no clear signage where customers should stand). The cashier ignored me, and took the next customer in line, and when I politely pointed this out, she didn't apologize--instead, she blamed me for standing in the "wrong spot." Her lack of awareness and basic courtesy was unbelievable. She was loud and decided to walk away and not help me.
When I asked to speak with a manager (#1000), I was met with even worse behavior. Rather than resolving the issue, the manager was dismissive and rude. It became very clear why the cashier felt empowered to treat customers poorly--the management sets the tone. Sadly, after this experience (6/29/25 @16:27), I will not be returning to this location, and I will avoid Marshalls altogether... I'll take my business elsewhere - where there's still "we do care" attitude in place.

The buyers for this location need to watch Marshall’s commercials for their job description. The advertisement boasts how good they are at their jobs. The Alexander City, AL location had maybe 6 women’s swimsuits in stock the second week of summer. Really?? None were my size 6-8. This store is located at a 40,000+ acre lake with thousands of vacationers annually. I had to settle for athletic wear for this visit. Do better store buyers. Read the room. Know your market. Receive feedback well from store workers and your customers.

Shopping in a very messy store, spending $100.00 and no bags for my purchases. Told to spend another .99 cents for one of their bags. A total ripoff. This should be part of doing business or have a large sign on entrance that, "We don't offer paper bags for your purchase." Very sad situation.

Item took forever to receive, well over the stated time frame. I still have not yet received item, which is a gift that should have been given a while ago. I used to shop at this merchant at their sites, however the quality of the merchandise has declined. This was my first and last online experience with Marshalls and any TJX Companies! Customer service sucks and leadership is entirely unresponsive even when emailed directly to their personal email addresses. THERE IS NOTHING AT THIS POINT THEY CAN DO TO REDEEM THEMSELVES, this from a very prolific customer in the past, shopping and buying multiple times/week!!!

Nothing like what it use to be… The whole mall was a little disgusting. I tried to go in. One star. It was locked and they came to the door and said that they only allow two customers and at a time. What’s that all about and then looking around you saw security people hiding in corners on their phone. Very sad. Used to be a fun mall but not.

We visited store in Columbus Ohio in the morning of July 7th 2025. The customer service was the worst I ever experienced. The cashier was not able to print receipts for the customers . The service was very slow, huge line of people. The manager was very rude and not helpful to the employees and/ or customers. I am long time Marshalls customer but never will use this particular location in Columbus. They can do better!

I just want to say thank you to the Marshalls and Tj Maxx buyers for continuing to offer high quality Eastern beauty products (Korean and Japanese products). I keep finding hidden gems each time I visit your stores and it is a joy to you to offer them at very reasonable prices. Please do not stop as they are becoming mainstream here in the US. And and an avid Asian beauty junkie I so appreciate this and hope that you continue this trend. My location is SOUTHWEST Florida.

Tracy, Ca-Marshalls. If you are disabled this is not the place to shop… Extremely long line to check out and if you can’t physically stand stationary in the line, even though they have a chair in the corner behind the register area (public area, not employee area) it is not acceptable to sit until it is your turn. The manager is just chatting and would rather say everyone is treated the same and has to stand in line, rather than understanding that not everyone can. I don’t understand why the chair could not be an option, look and see who is at the end and once they check out, I would be after them. As a manager he was not interested in helping me in any way unless I was able to stand rather than sit.
I only went around the perimeter of the store to avoid the area that were messy like an obstacle course. The prices of the items that I found were reasonable but I was not able to purchase them. I do like that they have carts that are high as I have trouble reaching items if I put them in a regular cart.

After finding out that what they post online is not carried in the actual stores I ordered a jumper for a specific event. On 2/9/2025 I received notice that the label was made. Well here it is 4 days later and FedEx still has not received the package to ship!!!! WTH. Never again will I order from online with them and I would suggest if you want to receive a order, order it months in advance. Absolutely horrible service.

I went to Marshalls to buy my child a toy for Christmas but they're selling which doesn't make sense for children. My child was trying to fix everything and nothing worked, I bring back the toy and tell them the toy was not what they are showing on the picture, they have to return my money and take back the toy but they refuse to give me back my money. All I have to do now is to charge them.

I bought Steve Madden shoes from Marshalls for $39.99 and left on a trip for two months, I discovered the shoes were defective and couldn’t wear! Marshalls didn’t accept the return because it was too late!

I ordered 4 bottles of avocado oil from Marshalls via online and I gave away one bottle and I used one. In the beginning, although I noticed that the color was so green, I did not suspect it until I cooked with rice. After adding into rice cooker, the color stayed in one spot and it somehow confirmed me that it was color added. So I contacted to the online customer service for the remaining two and she said it was 40 days passed and no return is possible. My question was how about for fake product which give consumer's health concern.

Very disappointed in Marshalls. We purchased 4 identical lawn chairs. Upon getting home realized one was $10 more, returned immediately and they would not honor an adjustment. Very poor customer service!

I had the worst experience shopping at Marshalls store in Novi MI. A week ago I purchased a non stick pan, I tossed the receipt and I was with no doubts I would like this product. Well, it turned that the product was defective, all the food stick on the bottom of the pan. I took back to the store and they refuse to exchange saying they had no proof of selling the product when they have a shelf full with it. I called customer service and they were not helpful at all, just as unprofessional and rude as their associates. A suggestion before you shop in that store think twice.

My daughter and I have been shopping at Marshalls since they opened their doors in Winston-Salem area. We shop every weekend at Marshalls or T. J. Maxx after eating breakfast and enjoy looking at what’s new, but lately we feel like we have been watched at every turn as if we are shoplifters. I know that they have a major problem with shoplifting, but treating their best customers as criminals won’t help their bottoms line. I have spoken with a manager, but if this continues, we will be shopping somewhere else.

I went to the one on El Con and their girl who helped me her name was Bianca and she was super helpful and nice as well being really friendly and kind, one of the best if not the best cashiers I’ve ever had. 10/10.

My Family and I went into Marshalls of La Quinta Ca and were followed and harassed by staff. To a point of disrespect and inhumane behavior. I was harassed due to the color of my skin. As I was going to the register to purchase my items the Man that was harassing us followed us to the register and stands behind me to make sure I was going to purchase items. He tried to intimidate me and my family standing 2ft behind us and giving us a bad look as if we were bad people and made us look as if we did something wrong in front of other customers, The experience was so bad thank God I was recording this 1922 racist atmosphere. I was so offended that I called the store manager and nothing happened. When I spoke to Johnathan he just kept asking for a name. Unfortunately I didn't have a name but I had better a video of a person being treated unjust and extreme prejudice. But he did want the pic or vid.

I ordered a pair of sandals on January 12th. Paid extra for express shipping. After a few days they still hadn’t shipped so I called. All they could offer was to snail mail me a gift card for the express shipping refund. No apologies no e-gift card… Just USPS gift card for the shipping only. They said it could be up to another 5 days before the product had to be shipped - I can’t cancel it. I can’t get my money back - I just have to wait. Now it’s January 19th - the sandals STILL have not shipped. They can’t tell me why - other than the weather is bad and it’s slowing things down. But they can’t tell me any specific reason why they are still somewhere in their facility.
I again asked if I can cancel - nope! Now bc of the weather they said they have up to 15 days before it must ship before I can get a refund! And then it will be shipped on a physical gift card!! It’s insane. Why can’t I cancel my order and get a gift card refund through email. Or at the very least-let me cancel the order and ship me my refund NOW. But nope - have to wait until the 28 or 29th before they will ALLOW me to cancel the order. Horrible customer service I tell ya!

Specifically - Sierra Vista, AZ store: It's unknown to me, how and what criteria is used or how, they choose their Employees, be it Temporary or Permanent. My recent experience is as follows: While shopping in the local (and Only Marshalls Store), and might add, the ONLY one available in this area, I experienced the Most and Totally Rude, for lack of a more appropriate expression, conduct/response/action, from an obviously 'New Employee". I would only hope, he is new and TEMPORARY!
My Background: Resident of SV for over 15 years, Retired Military for over 32 years, and not wanting to be a deciding factor/consideration, am a ** Male..still, Served in Military for 20 Years! At this point, I would suppose I've been retired, equal to or Longer, than this individual has been on this earth. However and notwithstanding, this individual had/showed '0"/No Respect for/to me, as a Customer/Individual, during my recent visit. Please - Review Security Video/Tape, for 12.30.23, between 12:35 and 12:50ish hours. It can be clearly seen/viewed, how this individual (I would assume an employee), makes eye contact with me while I assume, approaching his objective, and Reaches across-in Front of My direction of Path/Shopping, to place an item(s) on the Rack, to my right!. He did NOT express/say anything, i.e. (Excuse/Pardon Me), during the process..WOW!
Not wanting to create a scene/disturbance, as may have been expected, I continued on with my shopping. So, and without further elaboration - This Employee, has NO Customer Consideration(s), at least in my case, for ALL CUSTOMERS, despite his Personal Preference(s)/Observation! IMO, should NOT be in any aspect of the Retail Businesses! Hey MARSHALLS - You better Check/your Policies/better Screen your EMPLOYEES! I have NEVER, although I've experienced a lot during my 20 Years of Military and 32+ Years after retirement, of Total Disrespect from such a young and other individual(s). I realize DISRESPECT, does exist and growing, however, Has our local Commercial/Retail stores degraded to such a low level. Is there NO Respect/Customer Relations Training, for our local SV stores/businesses????

I love Marshalls and TJ Maxx but these past two weeks I've gone to two different Marshalls store. Union and Sayreville Sayreville being the worst in neatness organized clothes and home dept a total mess. Its was a horrible experience and sad to see these stores. Used to be perfect, what happen? Cashiers are wonderful in both stores. Great customer service. Just the store being a mess. Clothes all over everything else as well. No room for cart to fit in aisle. Large inventory bins in every aisle. Can't go down any and I mean any.

My experience was at the fitting room area. Older ** lady was rude, I had asked her if she could help me with a blouse that they had tagged the price in such a way that I could not try it on. She was already rude when I put my things on the rack so she could count them. She went from telling me that I needed to go to the front and have them take the tag out, mind you I am already trying clothes on and definitely not interested in standing in a long line to get this issue resolved. I asked if there was another way of helping me with this issue since there was another employee standing there waiting on her for something. This employee went from "that is not my job" to "I don’t get paid to do that." I was astonished that you can act this way and get away with this. This was at the Marshalls at Meyerland in Houston, Texas. I was not going to complain but it’s employees like this that leave a sour experience and you rethink about shopping at the store.

I was shopping at Marshalls and was approached by a staff member to open a rewards card. I spent ONLY $28.53 and wanted to pay but she said they will put that amount into the card. I made this application in the store itself on 9/13/23. I did not receive the card by mail till a week later. I had not activated the card and it is still pasted on the letter which they sent. To my surprise I have my bill together and I died reading that there was another amount of $355.22 (WHICH WAS NOT MINE). This amount was on the same day I applied for the card and the purchase was made in ATLANTA, GEORGIA while I live in CALIFORNIA. How can I be in the same TWO different STATES and buy something????
I am so mad and called customer service and they had asked me to pay up the amount.... This is FRAUD and I believe someone in the card department has something to do with this. SERIOUSLY THIS IS BIG TIME FRAUD. I need this to be solved....I tried the chat on the TJX rewards but unable to speak to an agent... What a nightmare. I have all the bills and want this to be solved....

This company is really bad. The clothes and products they sell are expired and overpriced. I don’t shop here anymore. Rude employees as well. Just cheap looking clothing overall. They hassle you if you don’t have a receipt. Spare me the stress. You can’t find anything because they have so much inventory that no one is buying.
