Store No. 379 in Memphis Tennessee. I went there to get a loaf of bread. I needed cash and rather than make two stops, I just decided to get cash during check out. I had no idea there was a fee so in order to get $10, I had to pay a dollar. Well, when I found out there was a fee, I asked the cashier to cancel the whole transaction. She huffed and puffed and called for the assistant manager as the manager was out and would be back in a minute. The assistant manager claimed there was nothing in the world they could do. Now, the dollar was not the issue but the attitude of the cashier and the assistant manager was inexcusable.

The assistant manager told me I may as well take the $10 because it went through and they couldn't do anything. She said I could talk to the manager when he returned. I waited 30 minutes and still no manager and no one said another word to me. They just ignored me as though I wasn't standing there. When I went up to ask for the number to the store’s headquarters, she stated that she didn't know what it was. I called another store to get the number. Now this is the part that is really inexcusable - I called headquarters four times to voice a complaint, left four messages and still not one word from Dollar Tree. I'm done with Dollar Tree. I would rather spend a little more for good customer service.

I purchased 9 flood lights and every single one was broken. When I returned them, I was told to get replacements. Why would I replace 9 broken bulbs with 9 more broken bulbs? Besides, there were only 3 left and they were rattling in the box. The lady told me no refunds were to be given, even though all of the light bulbs were broken out of the box. I said, “Fine, I will take a credit.” She said I have to hold on to the receipt and the bulbs and bring them in the next time I am shopping and do the exchange then. I was so aggravated that at that point I told the cashier to keep the broken bulbs and walked out of the store. Dollar store broken merchandise and this is how they operate? I won’t be doing any business there ever again. I guess I should not have expected much more than what I received.

I was out shopping and I decided to go to Dollar Tree to get a few fillers for a birthday basket and I slipped on the side walk because it was raining. Now I know this is not Dollar Tree's fault that it was raining, but it is their fault that when I slipped and skinned my knee that there was no first aid kit anywhere to be found. Another customer was the only person to help me. But in the end, I had to buy first aid supplies and fix my knee. The cashier was rude and turned her nose up at me just because of a little blood.

Workers do not do their jobs. The shelves are always empty. Your workers are walking around or blowing balloons when there is only one check stand open and there are 5 to 6 people in line. When you ask for something, they tell you it's in the back and they cannot get to it because of boxes that are in their way of getting it for you. My dad is disabled and that's the only store he has access to. He cannot always get to Fresno when he needs something from the Dollar Tree.

The manager at the Dollar Tree was ringing me up and made a mistake and rung someone else’s things up with my order. When I brought it to his attention, he attempted to correct the problem but couldn’t. As a result, the manager/employee blurted out loudly "I hate food stamps." I was embarrassed as I was with a client and at work. She did not know my method of payment. I feel that was my business and my transaction should have been more private and handled with more respect than was given. Employee did not even consider that he could have offended me or the other consumers that wished to use their snap benefits. I am very bothered by this and I am wishing to seek legal counsel to assist with this issue.

I was at the Dollar Tree in Madison, MS; it was 2:45 PM. When I entered the store, the line was very long at the only register that was open. May I also add that the line was all the way back on the aisle going straight from register 1. When I got in the line, customers also made a line form to the right as well; I counted at least 10 to 15 customers. I would like to inform you that the employee on the register was by herself, she repeatedly paged for assistance not the manager nor any of her co-workers would assist her. Also, another customer dialed the store, requesting to speak with the manager and the employee answered the phone paged the manager and the manager never answered. Why would you hire people who are in charged of a store and they don't take any effort to show any type of leadership.

I want to let you know, this young lady, her name is (Chamon), the employee showed that she should be the one who should be in the manager position. Every "single" customer that entered the store including my self, she greeted with welcome to Dollar Tree. She never froze up nor gave up. You need to award or at least give her a pat on the back, or even a hug and a smile because in today's economy, we need more people like that and we need to have good service because I know what teamwork means and how it should be executed. Why do I say that? It is because it's hard to find jobs in this day and time, I have the same issue at times at my job. I love the store, but I truly hate the way that store is being ran. Thank you for your time. Please feel free to call me if you need to speak with me. Thank you, I hope Dollar Tree can take care of this matter, ASAP!

Mccarran Seventh Street Dollar Tree and the only older woman working there at 8:45 pm in Reno, Nevada. We had a bill at 47 dollars and 15 cents. So we thought we gave her 60 dollars--three 20 dollar bills fornix act amount of 60 dollars with 12 dollars and 85 cents in change. The problem is as we were walking out the door, we realize we gave her 80 dollars. So she counted the drawer and claimed that it was not 20 dollars over.

In fact, it was our fault; but because of your dishonest employees, I will no longer be bringing my business to you and I spend at least 150 dollars per month at Dollar Tree. It's a shame, because unless this is made right, you lost a great customer. I guess criminals come in all shapes and sizes and ages. I know with every fiber of my being she stole 20 dollars from us, and we needed that money.

Earlier in the day, I chose to purchase greeting cards. As usual, I ended up picking up other items. I checked out with an employee named Charlene. I was already aware she had an unpleasant attitude. I placed my items on the checkout, never a "Good morning", nothing. She rang up all items and again, not a "thank you". She did manage to mention "have a good day" after I looked at her with a look of "you are so rude". Once I came home, I noticed I did not have my greeting cards. I phoned the store and spoke to an Amanda. She was very nice and she informed me to bring my receipt and it would be taken care of. Six miles both ways, I chose to go back the same day (12 miles total). With the price of gas, I was not very happy. I walked into the store, approached Charlene and she contacted Mareeta, the store manager.

The manager came out. I gave her my receipt, the two of them stood there with me and continued to make me feel like an idiot, mentioning that I had to have walked out with the cards because there was nothing left behind. Finally, the store manager asked me for my receipt. She left for at least 15 minutes and came back to inform me that she had viewed me on the store monitor and confirmed that Charlene did not give me the bag with the greeting cards and the next person in line ended up taking them. I was told to go and choose another assortment of eight cards and go through checkout with Charlene. I did. Again, I found Charlene with an attitude. No apologies, no "I'm sorry for the inconvenience". I have shopped at this store many times and I feel that this employee is a disgrace to this establishment. I feel I should be reimbursed for my gas mileage for the total of 12 miles.

I am a long time customer of Dollar Tree. Today I was at your store #3128 at 8721 S. Stoney Island Avenue, Chicago Il 60617-2709, my receipt has checkout time of: 12:52 p.m. I have never had a problem with any employee anywhere until today. My husband and I finished shopping and took our cart out to load our purchases into our car. I know that the carts should not be taken out of the store, but there is often no one to watch if you leave your purchases behind to get your car, and they will likely be stolen. We always take the cart back into the store when we finish.

When we took it out today, one of your employees named either Yoland or Yolanda (I read it on her id card) came out and angrily told me that if I take her cart out again I will have a fight on my hands. I told her she is threatening me and that she should be careful because some people will hurt her for threatening them. She went on to rant and rave, that no one is going to do anything to her and that she is not scared of me. By then, my husband had brought the car around and got out and said to her she is not wise to threaten me as she is doing. She then yelled at him saying I am not afraid of either of you, and no one is going to do anything to me. She stated that she is 54 years old and not afraid of anyone.

Her attitude was very nasty and threatening. She went on with her tirade raving and shouting until we got in the car and drove away. My husband wanted to call the police, but I said I am going to contact the company officials, which I am doing. I want to make clear that I did not raise my voice at her even one time, nor did my husband. I am a Christian and try to keep my temper when people act foolish. It takes a great deal to anger me, and push me to the edge. She did just that. Eventually she will push someone to shoot or stab her. She acts like a maniac, and should not be working with people.

I am 62 years old, retired and have worked with all kinds of people from homeless to my job at the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business. I am a devout Christian and if necessary could produce dozens of letters of reference to my character. I say this to stress that this employee was not provoked by me in any way. I am appealing to you to deal with her before a tragedy occurs it is just a matter of time.

I have a complaint to file against an employee in the Iowa City, Iowa Dollar Tree store # 2239, located at xxxx **** Street, in Iowa city, IA 52240. One of your employees there named Thomas is extremely rude and disrespectful. As I was checking out, my 5-year old son turned to me and whispered (in a quite voice), asking if Thomas was a boy or a girl because Thomas was wearing lipstick, makeup and red nail polish and had a "girly" hair style. Thomas then yelled at my son (speaking in his face) in a very harsh tone saying, "I'm a boy honey and you're very rude. It's not funny to make fun of people and....."

As he was continuing to yell at my son, I stopped him saying he has no right to address my son the way he did because my son wasn't talking to him in the first place and didn't make fun of him and that my son was only inquiring. By the way, Thomas dresses and presents himself (and the amount of makeup he wears) I don't think it's an unusual thing for any child to be curious and inquire as to what he is. He continued his yelling and offensive language and saying how offended he was by my 5-year old's question.

So I just left the store because there were other people behind me in line and in front of me which made me very uncomfortable, disrespected and humiliated. It was beyond rudeness and harassment to be yelled at and a great insult to have my son yelled at and called rude in my presence and the presence of others. I spoke with one of the managers there named Jean/Jane, she apologized. I told her that my son and I deserve an apology from Thomas. She told me that he doesn't work again until Tues of next week and she wanted me to come by then (exactly a week from today) to speak to her or one of the other managers. I don't understand how they would hire someone like that who disrespects people in front of their children and yells at children for innocent inquiries. I would like this to be my formal complaint against the Dollar Tree store Sales Associate Thomas in the Iowa City, Iowa store #2239.

The manager came out of her door and said (in a not so nice tone of voice) "Is there something I can help you with?" I explained that no, I wanted to make sure all the inserts were in my paper. She said "Oh, I'm sure they are all the same. You can double check." I replied that no, they weren't all the same but thanks.

Now I'm not sure who "we" are or what "we" have been doing as it was afternoon but it had made this lady mad enough to then begin looking me up and down while whispering to the cashier. I did not notice this blonde woman wearing any name tag. I promptly left intending to buy my paper somewhere else. She then stood at the front door of the store watching me to my car. So another lady had to go into a room to get me my change, because I gave them 100 dollars. When I had receive my change and my receipt. I walked out the door. Without counting my money, because I always trust the machine they tell the cashier how much to give back.

I walked to another store next to the Dollar Tree. The girl who had gave me my change ask me and give her money back, because they gave me 20 dollars extra. I had told them it is not my fault, that they have gave me a wrong change, and how I didn't count it. She then force me to go into her store and made me look like a thief. I felt bad, so without knowing how much they really gave me, because I used the money they gave me and some in my purse to paid a bill at T-Mobile. So I still gave them 20 dollars. As for being a nice person, in return I was treated as a thief in front of customers.

I was never been treated like this. Also, I did not get a sorry or thank you. Until I said, that's very rude to go after me and ask for change when I had walk out the door with a receipt. She then say sorry and some nonsense thing. I'm very disappointed at this store.

On August 12, 2010, around 7:50 pm, I went to Dollar Tree and purchased Fiddle Faddle Caramel Popcorn. It comes in a red box. When I arrived home, I opened the box to eat a few and realized that it tasted stale. So I searched for the expiration date and it was on the bottom of the box printed, May 14, 2010. I was appalled that they would have food on the shelf 3 months past the expiration date. So the following morning, I put the box and the receipt back in the bag and went to the store.

The cashier contacted the manager. The manager came and just stared at the box and studied the receipt. He asked me if I purchased it last night. He then went to the aisle where the popcorn was located. He came back and said that the other boxes have September, October and November on them and that boxes are always checked to make sure for the expiration date. I asked him if I could just get my money back. He responded, no we'll let you exchange it for one food item but we'll let it go this time.

I was really surprised by his last statement as if I was the one in the wrong for bringing back stale food. I went to the aisle and found three more boxes of Fiddle Faddle Caramel Popcorn that had an expiration date of July 19, 2010. I then took my peanuts which were the item I exchanged my Fiddle Faddle for and the three boxes of Fiddle Faddle Caramel Popcorn and told the cashier that these are also expired.
