The Dollar Tree store at Quincy and Buckley in Aurora Colorado has boxes all over through the aisles and it is hard to pass. There are items everywhere that don't belong off of walls and shelves scattered about. It is easy to slip on the plastic of packages laying on the floor. I have never seen such an impossible mess in a store before. Don't know if it's lack of help or what but this will result in a lawsuit when a child has a box fall on them or someone elderly slips on the mess. The store needs to be told to clean up.

The build up: The store#4163 is a store that I visit often for the low prices and convenience. On 7/1/2017 I purchase bag of Moments cookies along with some other items for my wife and I. After opening the bag to enjoy the cookies, I was disappointed to find out that the cookies are out date and stale. The conflict: After driving back to the store to exchange the cookies for a new bag the store manager Angele ** refused to give me a exchange or even return it. After a short time of explaining how it will be difficult to tell if a closed pack of cookies are fresh without opening it. The manager Angele ** then called the police. Confused and in disbelief I left the store with my wife disappointed in the lack of respect.

Yesterday, 07/06/2017, my husband, son, and I visited the Dollar Tree at Hilltop Plaza in Richmond Heights, Ohio. About of the way through our shopping trip, we had an odd encounter with an employee. I had paused at the freezers, looking for a particular item, which I did not see, then continued down the aisle. My husband and son remained behind, I had assumed to continue looking.

As I passed the aisle midpoint, a male employee entered the aisle near the registers and began yelling and gesturing toward the back of the store, "Hey! Hey! Close that freezer! Close the door! Close it!" I turned around to see that he was yelling across the store at my family. I gave the man a funny look, and asked my husband if he had found the item he was looking for. He said no because that man had started yelling. I laughed and said, "What? We can't open freezers to purchase frozen food anymore?"

As we finished up our shopping the situation weighed on my mind. It wasn't funny, it was incredibly rude. When we got to the register, I asked the cashier (the only other employee in the store) if that man was one of the managers. She laughed and told me he was the store manager. I asked her for the District Manager's number, but she instead called him to the front. She called him Dan, his name tag said Dane. I did not catch the cashier's name, but she was an elderly woman with long graying blonde hair. I told her that I didn't want to speak with him, I wanted his boss, but she told me she did not have that information.

When he appeared at the register, he simply stared. He didn't ask how he could help or what was needed. I finally spoke and told him I'd like his District Manager's number. He told me there wasn't one right now, and asked me why I needed it. I told him that I intended to make a complaint about the inappropriate way he yelled across the store at my husband and child. He put his hand in my face and told me he was not giving it to me for that, and then proceeded to scold me for allowing them to play in the freezers, which, he mentioned, had just been fixed that day. He accused them of being immature and writing their names on the inside of the doors. I repeated my statement that it was inappropriate for him to have yelled at them, to which he responded that he had asked them 3 times to stop. The manager was rude and actually yelled at my child!

At this lie, my husband interjected and corrected him, stating that he did not ask, but had only yelled. He started to walk away, talking about people not behaving appropriately in public, but did backpedal his statement, saying he was only 20 feet away. When I told him that there were other, more professional ways he could have handled it, such as approaching my husband and asking him to please close the doors, or explaining they had just been repaired, he rolled his eyes at me. I also told him that a simple apology could have diffused the whole situation, but his response was to tell me that I needed to keep my little PUNK in check. My 8-year-old son stood by silently throughout the incident on the verge of tears. He had been with one or both of us throughout the entire shopping trip, and had not been misbehaving.

At that point I pulled my card from the reader and told the cashier to cancel the transaction. She tried to tell me that she couldn't cancel, but I put my card away and again told her to cancel it while I place the bagged merchandise on the counter. The last items I placed were a broom and a long-handled dust pan. After I had walked away to return the cart (I was two registers away), she yelled at me, "You didn't have to throw it at me!" I assumed she meant the broom, but she could have been referring to something else. I apologized, told her I did not throw anything, but that it probably fell off the pile, apologized again, and reassured her that it was not my intention to start trouble with her as well. She responded with, "Whatever", and began ringing up the next customer's items.

Throughout this situation, I was calm and polite, but I was treated with nothing but contempt, spite, pettiness, and absolutely the RUDEST behavior I have seen in retail. Having worked most of my life in customer service, including having worked AT THIS STORE in the late 1990s, I know that everyone is human and has off days, but I also know that this behavior was completely unacceptable. As a manager, your staff takes cues from you, and you need to be able to handle a variety of situations in a calm, polite, or even friendly manner. I will not return to this store until there is a new manager.

While checking out at Dollar Tree at 800 Harris Street in Eureka California, I was approached by management who accused me of stealing and demanded I empty my bags. When I said I had no problem doing that but I wanted it to be in the presence of security or police, and I would wait for that, I was approached in a very confining and aggressive manner by a little big boned girl who works there. She puffed up her chest, got close in my face, and said to fight with someone my own size. Then I was denied being able to purchase the items I brought to the checkout and told to leave. Before I left I emptied my bags just so they couldn't later say there was anything stolen in my bags.

I have heard numerous reports of this type of conduct at this specific store from many other people. Now I know what they were talking about. It was a very intimidating, rude, unpleasant, and embarrassing experience. I will never enter this particular store again, and I think something should be noted about this stores ongoing issues related to this.

Candy was on floor opened and spilled, the products on the shelves were disorganized and cluttered. Opened boxes were all over the floors with aisles clogged. YUCK! I felt so DIRTY in there. I purchased a 3 pk of Weaver Kettle Corn from Dollar Tree on Jonesboro Blvd in Union City, GA. Two bags wouldn't, one didn't. I asked Dollar Tree for a single replacement bag. They said it was a manufacturer defect and stated they have nothing to do with that. As a consumer, how in Hell did I become responsible and why am I taking the loss for a manufacturer defect. It is NOT my responsibility to contact to the mfr. I purchased the product from the retailer and returned it the following day (reasonable time) with a receipt. Dollar Tree said I should have returned all three bags if I wanted a replacement. Can't do that if 2 were okay and edible.

I contacted Dollar Tree headquarters and was transferred to the voicemail of Ms. **, a District Manager over that store. Guess she feels "Ms. Consumer" is not important enough for her to return my call. Also, no phone number avail for Weaver Popcorn. I sent them an email from their own website so they can't say they didn't receive it. There's been no response after one week. After reading these comments, it looks like the company has a collection jar at these stores and we are simply contributing to it. This is fraud all day long. It's not just "popcorn," it's "PRINCIPLE." Wal-Mart will, at least, replace the product. Dollar Tree does not, so know this: according to the cashiers and manager of that store and the lack of response from Ms. **, if you buy from them and the product has a defect, you're on your own! I usually and have never written a review for/against a company. However, I had to write my review for this specific Dollar Tree which I go to quite often. I am usually treated with respect and a lot of help except that when I come to a cash register worked by this Hispanic lady who claims to be disabled and even show me her cane. I am a legally disabled person; therefore, unable to only carry light stuff (as in a light bag). I asked for someone to help me with my groceries to my vehicle (which they usually do) because I am unable. However, for the 2nd time this Hispanic lady makes me look like a fool in front of other customers saying that she is disable too and that she is working (not sure what she's trying to prove).

Since the first time she offended me, I try to use some other open cash register but today there was only one cash register open so I had no choice than to go on this line but get offended (for the 2nd time) by this Hispanic lady. I called (877) 530-8733 to make a formal complaint regarding this Hispanic lady who works at the cash register at the Dollar Tree location of 6138 W. Vernor Hwy, Detroit, MI 48209. I am now waiting to see if they return my telephone call.

I passed Dollar Tree many times and though they were like every other Dollar Store, that boast 1 dollar, but have items priced much higher. No, Dollar Tree is the real deal, everything is a dollar. This is my second day shopping there, I just got back, and I'm very pleased. I can buy items that or 2 to 3 times the price in regular stores. The books they sell, are even cheaper than Goodwill, a "non-profit store." Some book are 1 dollar Goodwill, but some are priced as high as $4.98. Sure you could bargain them down to $3.00, but that's still higher than a dollar. Many people claim that the goods are close to expiration date. Well, I have yet to see any items that were close to expiration date, and I just spent about an hour in a Dollar Tree. I walked down almost every single isle, looking for items to buy.

I bought a frozen loaf of Garlic bread that expires in May 2018. A loaf of Garlic Bread at Publix would cost over $3.00, more than 3 times the price. Yes the taste is as good as, or better than that Cole's Garlic bread at Publix. All the seasons and spices at Dollar Tree are a Dollar. At Publix, the same sized spices can range from $2.50 to $5.00. The organic, or imported spices at Publix spices are even more expensive. I bought a 7 ounce bar of Yardley Soap for only a Dollar. That same name brand soap is .98 cents for 4.25 ounces at Walmart, and as high as $1.75 at other retail stores for that same 4.25 ounce bar. Dollar Tree is now my main retail store for grocery, bath products, office supplies and kitchen wares. I grow most of my produce organically, so no need to buy from stores at their super inflated prices.

I suggest you Dollar Tree investors and execs to put these stores in poor ** communities, because it's much cheaper than Winn Dixie and corner store prices. I live in a Spanish community and there are two Dollar Tree stores within 9 blocks distance, but none in the ** communities. There are expensive Family Dollar stores in ** communities. There are also many family services, welfare offices in the Latin communities, but very few in ** communities. The same applies with the Goodwill stores. Stop the inequalities. Stop the discrimination and favoritism. Stop putting ** at the bottom of the barrels of society, because you will have to account for this behavior on Judgement Day, all of you false servants and unholy ones. Repent, and do not practice partial treatment. God is impartial, and so should you be.

P.S. I must also warn you that some of the snacks at Dollar Tree are labeled partially created using genetic engineering. I read the labels and do not buy those products. I have only seen this with their granola and oatmeal bar, soft cookies, and their mixed nuts/fruits packages. Reading is fundamental people. Read the labels for fat content and GMOs. Read the Holy Scriptures to learn how to behave in this life, because we are rewarded only one of two options in the next eternal life... Heaven or Hell.

We went to the Dollar Tree in Los Fresnos, Texas to buy some frames that we needed. They end of being the wrong size, and two of them were broke, so we returned them the next day. We put two back into the wrapping packet, and even used the same plastic bags the clerk gave us. We wanted an exchange for the frames. The clerk Rosa took them out of the wrapping packages, threw one away, and one Rosa told us she gave the plastic bag away to customer with the wrapping inside. Then Rosa told us she couldn't give us an exchange because they were not in the package, when she took them out and threw them away. I'm sure there is video at the store.

Rosa called the manager, Magda. When Magda got there, Rosa "magically" had the bags. The manager (2 weeks) sided with the lying clerk, and telling us we were wrong. We called customer service, and they told us for the unopened exchange was the store's choice, so all we wanted was new frames, that were not broken. Magda didn't want to do the work for the exchange, and said she had to be in the back in the warehouse, instead of in the front with the customers. They kept saying they could not do it, they could not do the work, when eventually they did.

I know it is a matter of $$$$$$ on the businesses part to send merchandise abroad, but when it puts our workers on a unemployment line, is that right? First of all, My wife is employed with Dollar Tree (against submission policy regarding "Fake" submissions. I can't see any "Fake" about this). Second, this is not a shameless plug for her or for Dollar Tree, but intended to express a consumers perspective about consumer experiences with Dollar Tree specifically. So if this does not get published through Consumer Affairs, I have a copy that I will still attempt to publish through other avenues. I do not qualify for submission, but the only way to submit it was to check the box. So feel free to trash it if it doesn't meet your qualifications or allow you to market to me, I don't want any services from you, I just want to educate the consumer about what I think of corporate Dollar Tree.

I've read many reviews and I understand the law of discontent, that it is more likely that someone will express dissatisfaction than express above average experiences. That being said, I've had it up to my ears with Dollar Tree's lack of respect for the store level employees. I cannot possibly expect anyone to believe my wife's commitments, loyalties, and dedication to her job, but for what I've put up with for the last 6 or 7 years is absolutely heartbreaking.

When she started in I think 2001 as a cashier, it was a GreenBacks All-a-Dollar store. She excelled into a management position rapidly as Dollar Tree bought them out and changed them to Dollar Tree's. Life was okay, she really enjoyed her job and found tremendous satisfaction in retail, occasional bumps and challenges but workable in the life of employment.

For the last 6 or so years, I've seen corporate do everything in their power to strip any job integrity from the store level and convert it to stock value, i.e. the appearance of stock value to its investors. I've seen corporate eliminate any unnecessary expense from the store level like radio, morale building incentives, and dependable support like vacuums, especially adequate labor. All while increasing expectations and demands for productivity. It's no wonder there are so many negative Dollar Tree customer service issues that get submitted to Consumer Affairs.

I've searched and searched for ways to get my message to anyone that gives a rats ** about store level conditions without incriminating myself or my wife, but to no avail. I can't find ANY contact through their web based system that I can anonymously submit any genuine complaint about Dollar Tree's treatment concerning where the real money for corporate comes from, and that's the store level employee. I honestly feel that profit and corporate image is all they care about, and that as long as they can milk a breathing person to serve with all their blood and livelihood, they will continue to strip any dignity from managers and cashiers alike.

The salary wage dispute recently didn't help things either. When corporate was threatened that they would have to pay overtime for salaried managers if the manager made under a certain amount, they raised the starting manager salary to just above the threshold (to avoid paying overtime). Then when the law didn't pass, corporate lowered it back down (to avoid paying anything more). Had the law passed, and they kept my wife at her previous salary, my wife would have easily made double plus because of overtime (not in Dollar Tree's interests I'm sure).

The problem here is that of expectations from corporate at the store level. Over the years they have added intense amounts of clerical documentation that the managers are responsible for yet they have also cut the amount of labor they are allowed for anyone on the hourly scale. So the manager now has to do such unreasonable amounts of labor to fulfill corporate's expectations. This creates a very unbalanced "Win-Lose" situation where corporate wins, and salaried managers lose.

I get that people need to make a living, and jobs are necessary, but every angry, abusive, defiant, ignorant, loud, and aggressive manager can be blamed on corporate greed. They milk every bit of time and effort out of the salaried managers because they know if they demand 80 to 90 hours a week out of loyal managers, they can get it and not have to pay one dime of compensation for it.

Just a few short years ago, the salaried requirement was 55 hours a week for a manager, now it's 60 or 65 hours a week I think, with zero increase in compensation. Looks good in the egg head corporate office, but reality is that it takes commonly 70 to 80 hours a week of reasonable (based on the quality of employee) effort to complete what corporate is demanding. I find it totally logical that Dollar Tree store managers are frustrated, stressed, upset, angry, and enraged. How do they release it? On the customers and family. Believe me, I've prayed and hoped for years now that there was some way to get my wife the hell out of Dollar Tree management. She is upset, angry, frustrated, definitely overworked, and way under compensated for what she does.

So for all the consumers out there, take your chances shopping at Dollar Tree. Most likely you will experience negative customer service. Once I thought they were a great company, but now my opinion is that the only reason they push those thumbscrews so damn hard is to get the flashy stock image that their company appears hot. Yet the revenue really comes from the employees that are literally killing themselves to serve Dollar Tree. Quite pathetic if you ask me, and not flattering at all.

So yes, I've been in many Dollar Tree stores that look like a bomb exploded in them because they don't provide enough resources to get quality employees or enough labor to get done what needs to get done. On top of that, they then expect the managers (salaried remember, they are required to work as long as it takes to get the job done) to pick up the slack and contribute all the necessary time to work without logical compensation to get the job done. Angry, insulting, unresponsive customer service? Yep, blame corporate greed and disrespect for store level employees for customer disrespect, anger, insults, maybe even violence at Dollar Tree.

I'm furious about what my wife has to go through to make her store look so good. I want my wife back. Dollar Tree has imprisoned her in the throngs of corporate expectation. I still cry often wishing there was a way that she could love her job again, she used to. Even now, with all these frustrations, she still delivers amazing customer service. If you don't believe me, just visit any Dollar Tree, then visit store 2645 in Providence, Utah when she is there, which is likely. I would think that any deep investigation into Dollar Tree would reveal criminal behavior from corporate, but I suspect that this would become Coup de tat and my wife along with all the other store level employees will suffer and lose at the hands of corporate greed. Great how our culture can accept such a win-lose situation as this.

The store is dirty and looks like it has not been cleaned in a year. Dollar Tree would be smart to just close this store because they have lost half of its business. Where is the district and regional managers to let this stuff go on here.

I work at a public high school as the prom coordinator. Our school's prom theme this year is Wish Upon a Star. Dollar Tree had some really cute 10 inch star shaped pillows that played "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star," when you pressed on them. The prom committee was SO excited! They thought the pillows were very cute and would make a nice favor to put at the back of the chairs. In fact, they chose these pillows over other items we were going to have custom made. We needed to order over 400. We were told that once the store called us, we had to pick up the stars within a week. Because we were approaching Spring Break we were hesitant to place the order immediately, worrying that we wouldn't be in the school when the phone call came, and that the stars would end up being shipped back to HQ. So, we waited until after Spring Break, then ordered the stars and awaited Dollar Tree's phone call.

When we were finally called, we were told there were 17 boxes and we need to come get them ASAP. We borrowed a 20 foot moving truck and excitedly took it to pick up our 17 boxes. Each box was surprisingly small. That should have been our first clue, but it wasn't... After loading the boxes and getting them back to school, we opened one and were instantly disappointed. They are not 10 inch stars. They are more like six inch stars (from point to point... at a stretch). They are nearly half the size of what we ordered and will not sit up as a back cushion for the chairs at prom. On top of this, more than half of them are broken and do not play "Twinkle, Twinkle." I went back to the website to see if I had misread the post. Nope, ten inch stars.

When we called Dollar Tree to see if maybe we had been shipped the wrong product, we could not get anyone to call us back. When we finally did get in touch with someone, after continuously calling for about a week, we were told we needed to wait to speak with someone in particular who could tell us whether the ten inch stars actually existed. Another few days passed. We called back. The customer service representatives we spoke to couldn't figure out what went wrong. She kept asking us if we wanted the six inch stars. We wanted to know if the ten inch stars existed. She couldn't tell us. After several more days of not getting anywhere when we called Dollar Tree, we went back to the website. The post had been changed. It no longer advertises ten inch stars. They are now advertised as being 7 inch stars (which is also misleading, because they ARE smaller) and there are no 10 inch stars.

After weeks of trying to figure out if we had been sent the wrong item, or if the item had simply been mis-posted, we hear no apology from Dollar Tree for the inconvenience, and no compensation from Dollar Tree for the lost time, and investigation that ensued because we couldn't get anyone at Dollar Tree to figure out what had happened. In fact, today, I spoke with the head of Customer Service who basically told me that it was not Dollar Tree's problem that it will cost us money to have them returned to the store, and that I should bring them in a few boxes at a time if I wanted a refund badly enough for them. We are a public high school and do not have unlimited funds. I am just a teacher and I already spend enough of my own time and money working for nothing. To be told by a business that I should spend more time and money to correct their mistake is just appalling.

Not to mention, it is now too late to order a replacement for the prom. We have wasted so much time trying to sift through Dollar Tree's disorganization, that we are left with no time. I will not be shopping at Dollar Tree in the future and I will be posting this review on any other review sites I can find. This was not the response I expected from a local business. I can not believe that Dollar Tree is content ripping off a school.

I am amazed by the stunning and increasing lack of concern (and possibly even the contempt) that Dollar Tree and its associates have for customer service. Though the dollar is spent, apparently the buck doesn't stop there. I had to search high and low, relatively speaking, for an address to contact that had another designation besides reviews for articles sold on, or technical issues had with the online store. The more necessary feedback forms are conspicuously absent and I know that they were there once upon a time.

I am not the adversarial type or a complainer. In fact this is only the second complaint I have lodged with Dollar Tree in 30 years of shopping you. However,

it is definitely warranted in this situation. I will not be keen to come back despite any "benefits" involved if things like what happened today continue. We all deserve to have better; especially if we're paying for it. The Laurel, MD 20707 / Route 198 Location was visited. It was the early afternoon and store traffic was high. This, of course, will naturally create some tension. Customers were reaching over each other and checkout lines were constantly building and extending back to the aisles. When I assumed a place at the check stand/service bay to the side of the store, that's when things got heated. I took my proper slot in line and moved along with the others as soon as it was available to do so. At one point I was "stuck" between the cash registers at the junction of station 1 and 2.

A woman directly in front of me took a brief moment to ask a question about the product she was purchasing (which is or at least was a customer's basic right). Unfortunately due to her accent the cashier did not immediately understand her and had to ask for clarification. The manager, who was already cagey and maniacal in how she paced the floor, reacted by inserting herself between them and telling the customer to "move on". (I don't know if she completed her purchase.) Then, at only a fraction of a second afterward, when the certainly bewildered lady ahead of me was still stepping off, I was told to move on by a younger male cashier because, "He (the customer behind me) needs to move up and we have to keep the line moving." Was I supposed to rear-end the already traumatized person in the lead?

I said "Hi" to my cashier firmly and calmly (which was a feat given how annoyed I was). She replied with the same but nervously jumped and fumbled in handling the items taken. She did her best to be cordial despite all of it and was. She, Anna, is an older woman who is classically trained in how to cashier/serve customers and a very nice person to boot. She is to be commended and is worth 10 of the other scanty few that were working the location. She did a thorough job in ringing me up; but with all the hostility brewing I exited in a huff and forgot two items. I'm unsure as to whether or not I paid for them. The receipt may have been deposited in a second bag left behind with those two pieces.

I would like for those things to be given back in one way or another since they were only forfeited by having to "get the ** out". Also amends could be made in part by bringing in and retaining the appropriate number of cashiers. This may literally be the 1000th time that I have walked into your large flagship store (at any time of the day, week or year) to find a massive throng of shoppers with only two to three cashiers present. If the store has 6 check stands then why do they not use 6 of them at least occasionally? Even during the Christmas Holiday we've had a hard time finding enough cashiers. It would be much more your fault than the customers' if they can't be processed in an efficient manner.

Maybe the huge mega-corporation you've become is still somehow too miserly despite its prosperity to add a few more part-timers when needed. Maybe you
have and will continue to take us for granted as no one can beat your dollar deals and the attraction of cheap stuff is just too great for the public to resist. And this is not ageism or elitism speaking but just a sad fact of sociology. The Millennials you've had on staff have almost always been the most awkward, thoughtless or downright rude members. All store personnel would benefit from customer service training but the Millennials REQUIRE it. They've not had the

grooming that the rest of us grew up with.

Frankly, I don't expect you to care. I don't expect you to improve - at least not permanently... And I don't even expect that you will issue a $2 credit for the items I lost. Given all the complaints floating around about you (including those on your own Facebook page) I don't expect a proper response at all. What is being done for you in furnishing this letter of complaint is the issuance of a "heads up" to know what will be placed on sites such as ConsumerAffairs.com and with the Better Business Bureau. There needs to be more of a record so that we haven't suffered in total silence.

This occurred at store #4346 located in Gulfport, MS in the Crossroads Shopping Center. My husband and I were in the store to do a bit of shopping and while doing so we heard a team member announce that they were unable to process any credit/debit/EBT cards due to their phone lines being down. This is totally understandable, and a situation I fully sympathize with given that I worked in retail for 10+ years; and I instantly felt for their position knowing that there were bound to be customers who would get upset over the news never mind that it wasn't their fault. I was prepared to see some uninformed folks in bad moods. It's par for the course. However, I was not prepared to be treated in such a manner for simply existing.

I was walking down an aisle that happened to be near the employee area when two employees walked by me to get to that part of the store. Was in the middle of the aisle at the time and a bit in the way since the aisle had been vacant upon turning down it. I tried to move over to give the employees room to walk by. When I did, I said, "Excuse me," by way of apology for being inconvenient, but neither employee gave me enough time to actually move over (I was slow due to a minor leg injury sustained the day before), and they nearly knocked me over (easy to do given how unsteady I am on that injured leg). One very angrily said "excuse me" when I failed to make way quickly enough and the other laughed, telling her, "You're in a mood today!" as if it was funny that they nearly knocked me down.

Now, maybe the first employee misconstrued my tone when I said "excuse me" due to her being in a foul temper (again, I can't fault being in a state given the headache having the phone lines down must have caused), but that isn't my problem and she shouldn't project her bad experiences onto others. I should have stayed and asked to speak to a manager, but I was too flustered and upset so my husband and I simply left.

There is no excuse for this type of behavior. What if I had been more seriously injured or unstable? Even if I hadn't been hurt at all it was uncalled for, and to crow with delight over fellow employee's rudeness to a customer is outright terrible. This team needs to be retrained or at least lectured on the importance of treating people with respect. I know that it was probably a rough day for these folks, and I feel for them, but that does not give them a pass on treating others poorly. I will never enter this store again. And I will advise my friends and family from doing so, as well.

OK so this complaint dates back to summer of 2016 to present. I'm complaining about the Dollar Tree store in Las Vegas on Charleston & Bruce, the worst customer service I've ever received at a Dollar Tree, and I love the Dollar! This store leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Let's go to last year, they have a wannabe security guard (he is no security, just the only male working at Dollar Tree) he thinks he runs the store. He is no manager. My fiance go in the store with our dog, he is immediately told to leave, my fiance stated that my dog is a service animal they proceed to ask for paperwork (which is illegal) because for one you do not have to show such sensitive documents, and secondly if they knew so much dogs do not have any "registered Numbers" or "IDs" if they're service animals. Well NONE of them wear name tags, they refused to give up their names.

The guy threatens to fight my fiance. Harassed my fiance around the whole store, cursed him out and they 86ed him from coming in. So in return, my fiance told them he would "be back with my girlfriend" in some odd reason they took it as a threat. Which was not a threat at all, he said this because he cannot quite communicate as well as me. He wanted me to ask why the 86ed him and to get their names, as well to speak to the manager. So I tried to do just that, all the employees were playing games, no one knew their names and one lady was so defensive, see this is in a ghetto, drug-infested homeless area, so she took it as a threat when my fiance said he would get me thinking it meant as a fight. They expected a ghetto woman to come in going off. No I went in there calm and collected and just wanted answers and names.

So I in return did call corporate. No answer, no response I feel like that don't care at all I refuse to let this go. I feel as such my dog and fiance are being illegally discriminated against I will take action! So last night my fiance went in the store NB again with our two dogs, which the other dog is in training, here goes the fake security again, harassing and cursing and just being downright rude told my fiance not to come back. Why? We are hardworking, tax paying citizens, we don't go in there stealing, breaking things, being loud nor obnoxious, because of our dog we can't come. I will file a lawsuit, and go to the humane society, the state attorney, this is unlawful and not right. I need answers and I need justice. I will not stop until corporate does something about their rude employees at this store, and they need to be taught laws regarding this sort of situation. So please contact me ASAP. Or I will move forward. Thank you.

On Jan 17, 2017, my kids and I went to Dollar Tree and I turned my camera on so I can prove that Dollar Tree train their employees to be rude to their customers and condone their customers being spoken to and threatened any kind of way. I went to go get my items and went in the supervisor Deborah line and checked out.

As my children and I were walking to the front door, Subreena burst out and said "No edges" to my 11 year old who have thin hair and she and I began arguing as I had a right to defend my child. She picked up a trashcan owned by Dollar Tree aiming it and about to throw it at my children and I. She cursed me out calling me fat, flabby arms, **, etc. She said bad things about my minor children in their face. She spoke bad about my mother. Deborah the supervisor did nothing.

I called the store many times, left feedback on Dollar Tree website for complaints, left messages on a voicemail that state they will return your call and here we are almost 2 months later and no one haven't called me back to apologize or acknowledge that they received my complaint. Dollar Tree is not a safe place to go. It's a place to go if you want to be talked down to, stressed out, threatened and receive bad customer service. Oh by the way, Subreena still work there, she may curse you out next and pick up Dollar Tree trash cans to throw it at you and your family. She may talk about your children too and try to fight them. Dan the manager don't care, he is just there for a paycheck. Dollar Tree corporate just want your dollar for their items. No customer service AT ALL. After picking those items I proceed to the checkout line which was very long. There was a lady in front of me with a basket of things. She also ordered a few balloons. When the cashier finished, cashing the lady out (which was a Male), he (cashier) started ringing my items. Apparently the lady took longer than he realized grabbing her bags. When he bagged my items he placed my bag over there also. While giving him my money for my items and waiting for my change, which I never received, I notice I did not see my bag of items. I asked, "Where is my bag?" Cashier said, "Don't know. That lady must have taken it with her items. Hurry run out there to catch her. Get your bag."

I said, "No, I'm not. That's on you. I never received my bag. I'll just have to go pick up those items gain." Cashier said, "You can't. You are going to have to pay again." I said, "No, I shouldn't. This was not my fault. This was on you. You can give me my money back." I went to get my items stood back in line showed him the items (same as listed on the receipt). Cashier snatches the receipt and one of the items out of my hand and says you have to pay again. I grab the other items, grab a bag and again say, "No I don't. This was your fault not mine." He says, "You need to leave or I am going to call the police." I said, "Go ahead. I will tell them the same thing because I did not do anything wrong." At this time he accuses me of working with the lady who picked up my bag. He calls 911 tells the operator he has a ** woman, in the store trying to take items out without paying he was (racially profiling me).

I waited until the police came in (about 20 minutes). When the police came in the cashier ran to him said something to him. The police walks over never asking me anything (accusing me without asking me any questions about what happened), told me I am going to have to repay for the items. I told him the same as I told the cashier, "No I'm not. I should not have to pay for a SITUATION I DID NOT CAUSE! It's the principle of the matter." The officer says, "If you do not repay I will have to arrest you." I said, "Ok," cause I'm not repaying! The officer and the cashier actually started to bully me. But I'm not an easy target for bullying. I said, "Look at him (Cashier). He looks and acts as if he under the influence." The officer said, "You can't say this." I said, "Really he calls me a thief without cause. There has got to be something wrong with him."

During this heated argument a customer a young man stepped up said to us, "I will pay for her items, give her receipt and her change to her." The officer at this time said, "I'll pay half of it." I said, "This is not the end of this. As far as I'm concerned this should never have happen." Officer tells me I will be Banned from coming into this Dollar Tree again. I said, "Really you're going to ban me from coming into Dollar Tree really!" The cashier and the Officer did not handle this unnecessary situation, which I did not cause in the right way within the realms of justice. This was plain and simple unjust accusation based on racial profiling. Strictly by the cashier and the officer.

I witnessed 2 separate occasions that someone wanted an exchange and an employee told customer that all items are $1 so go ahead and select exchange items. Knowing this, I finally grabbed a few things I purchased and never used. When I came in and requested a return, the lady told me to get the manager who, as soon as I mentioned exchange, cut me off (talking over me) and told me they have a no return policy and exchanges need a receipt, I can check the store policy, and dismissed me. I am perfectly fine with donating the unnecessary items, but honestly I don't like when people make me feel stupid. I just don't like clutter and I'm one of those people who don't keep receipts, my fault, but I don't think anyone from customer service in any field should cut people off while talking without at least saying "excuse me," it's common courtesy.

I have always liked Dollar Tree in my town of Greenville, MS until they built a new store and moved to a new location. It is always full of boxes and you cannot reach the shelves. They are out of stock on everything but have boxes and boxes of unopened stock. The staff does not seem to be happy to work there if you can find them. I do not understand a company that does not care about their image, employees or to the public they want to sell to. I guess it's just the bottom line. I have read other post about Dollar Tree and it seems to be company wide problem. I have tried to shop there but I am done trying to find anything in this store. They need to re-vamp their organization because this is not a local problem but a company problem. Take care of business Dollar Tree before you go out of business. I'm done.

Dollar Tree December 14, 2016 Romulus, Michigan. I HAVE NEVER WITNESSED SUCH AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY LIFE! At approximately 5:35 p.m. today I visited our new Dollar Tree store here in Romulus to purchase a few Christmas decorations. Upon my arrival I immediately noticed the Christmas needs section located in the front left side of the store. I also noticed a fairly long line of customers including adults and children at the first register nearest to the entrance/exit. As I began browsing the huge variety of Christmas items I heard loud and profane language which completely halted my desire to shop. Rather I wanted to understand who and why anyone was speaking in such a disrespectful manner.

To my disbelief and disgust I noticed it was the cashier (Taylor) speaking to a customer regarding something about an individual who had been fired. She continued using profane language including the "b" word, "f" bombs, **... and in the presence of the entire line of customers including kids who gazed at her as she continued using this type of language.

I hurriedly walked in their direction and very abruptly insisted, "Stop that language now! Don't you see these children watching and listening?! Besides you are disrespecting them and everyone else." Taylor replied, "Who are you talking to? These are my friend's kids." I responded, "I am talking to you, and stop it now! It doesn't matter whose kids they are. You are disrespectful to them and to me which is unacceptable! Besides, you have no class or self respect!" She continued mumbling as I mentioned I will be contacting someone in charge. Taylor then said, "She is the manager!" There was another lady on the register next to her who was witnessing the entire exchange of which I still could not believe - if indeed she is the manager, why hadn't she intervened before I did to stop this unacceptable behavior?

Taylor then mentioned she was going into the room (adjacent the registers) - before she "go off in this **" I put my items on the register where Taylor was, stating I was leaving. The entire line of customers had been directed to checkout at the register where the manager was. Taylor walked outside and re-entered stating, "Someone left their keys outside, so I guess I'm not too bad of a person."

I told the manager that I promised her she would hear further regarding my visit. She apologized, mentioned Taylor had been taken from the register and finally acknowledged my promise by saying "Ok." This entire experience is unacceptable including the cashier, Taylor and the manager who was initially condoning this behavior until I intervened.

My concern and question is, what is the stance that your corporation will take on this? Is this the norm or is this an exception of the caliber of employees at Dollar Tree? As a resident of the city of Romulus, I can share with you how elated our community was to welcome your business. However I plan to share my experience with the Romulus City Council and our community at large. This is not what we expect as residents and I would rather you find elsewhere to conduct business if this is what we should expect from your employees. I welcome an immediate response.

I contacted Dollar Tree's "24/7 customer support" 11/22 Tuesday before Thanksgiving and was told the department I needed was out for the holidays. They said call back next week... Fine with me. I tried again Tuesday 11/29 and was on the phone for 20 minutes with a guy who couldn't approve my return because again... the department I actually needed was unavailable. He said he would email them and they would get back to me that same day (this was at 1pm they closed at 9pm). After waiting 24 hours I contacted them again and got a hold of a Carla (who did try and help way more than my first call) but was once again told the department I needed was busy and to give them up to 48 hours this time. Cx service sent an internal email out again for me to please call them back when they were available... Nothing.

It's now the weekend again and I have been stuck trying to return damaged product for over a week and a half. Dollar Tree has done nothing. I would love a call back. This is my first experience with Dollar Tree and it has been horrible. Your Phone systems seem extremely out of date (I was disconnected twice out of the 3 times I called) and both employees I spoke with complained of how slow your system was and kept apologizing for it). I understand damages will happen but after 3 calls and no resolution it's pretty obvious customer satisfaction is non-existent in this company.

So I wait until I need more things and have to hang on to these to use them as an exchange. I would have only purchased 1 and checked the size if I knew no returns were accepted. Paid with a debit card. They have my cash, I'm stuck 2 days later. This isn't ok and misleading! The sentence "no refunds" is on the bottom of the receipt. Last sentence. Obviously only available to consumers after they've made a purchase that may need to be returned.

I went in Dollar Tree In Minnesota in the Midway area store number 1295. Standing in line I heard the Associate named Dennis complain to two customers ahead of me that he was tired of them not dividing their merchandise. I mean he literally was talking down to them, the two in front of me had to be in their seventies, I am 63... Then it was my turn, I had a small cough and I turned my head and covered my mouth away from him. He stated "cover your mouth. Don't come near me with your germs." I said "excuse me?" He stated "cover your mouth!" I told him I did and I asked him what was his problem. He stated to me "I don't have to wait on you. Go somewhere else." I told him I was not going anywhere and not re-standing in line. I then proceeded to tell him that he was a very rude and nasty person and how rude he was to the people in front of me and that he never needs to work in public line.

He was loud and boisterous. Again telling me he was not going to wait on me. By now a supervisor came out named Jennifer, who asked me to come over to the next register. I refused telling her I was not going to gather my belongings and go now where because she had an idiot for an employee. She then took my merchandise to another register and rang me up. In the meantime this insect of a human being continued to harass me. Other people came forward telling the supervisor he should have been fired on the spot! She agreed, that she saw his behavior was unacceptable. I told her he should never work with people in public. He was not customer service material. She again agreed and gave me corporate's number...

She told me to start there so that something could be done. I doubt very seriously if anything will ever be done. Dollar Tree simply does not have good feedback from customers... He again accosted me and said have a nice day sarcastically. Any good customer service person would have not have done a minute portion of what this idiot did, and would have been able to diffuse a situation rather than to escalate it!

I questioned the cashier about the error, she did a sarcastic salute to me and called the manager over who was of no help. It was more about principle instead of the money. I left very unhappy and insulted. They apparently don't care what I or other customers think or how we are treated. It's ridiculous.

Next time I am dragging the cart outside and if DT wants to call the police I am all for it. My mom uses the cart to help her walk through the store so she doesn't have to use her walker. Not to mention the homeless that are outside the store begging for money and the people hanging out smoking weed blocking the walk ways to get inside the store. I literally got in my car and pulled it up to the main walkway entrance of Dollar Tree and loaded my stuff. If you wanna treat me like a criminal I just won't shop at DT stores anymore. It's no loss to me but you are hurting it for my mom who could spend upwards of $100 per transaction. I have emailed and called and left messages with corporate and still no response. She is nice, positive, and goes out of her way to satisfy a customer. She is in training for ASM but she doesn't get the proper training. The other gals have threatened her in the store, yelling at the top of their lungs at her. None listen to her whatsoever and granted no she's not perfect, she makes her mistakes, but I've never seen someone so young take on all this heat from her fellow employees and still stand to even go to work.

She's so determined to grow within the business. It's unbelievable. They should recognize what type of person this little girl is and her skills before it's too late and another person from a different business see her and recognizes her will power to grow, and steals her for their own business. Thank goodness for this opportunity to rant - I want to get on with my evening and let this go. That said, I actually enjoy shopping at the Dollar Tree. There's lots of fun, cheap stuff I might not have found elsewhere. However, their refund policy (which it isn't, actually) is beyond horrible. In reality there are no refunds. Period. Yes, you can do an exchange and last time I shopped there I asked about this policy. I was assured that it's okay to exchange an item as long as it's an "even exchange." Fine, I thought. Wrong! What "even exchange" means to you and me does NOT mean the same to Dollar Tree. I went to exchange some craft items and thought some candy would be nice. I was told I couldn't make that exchange. "Why?" I asked. Because they can't give ANY money back at all and my original items that I wanted to exchange were taxed and the candy wasn't. Oh, I see.

In order to do the exchange I was forced to buy another item so that I was over the non-taxable amount and then they'd be able to give back change. Great. As far as I can tell this is really about Dollar Tree keeping their accounting practices easy. Unfortunately, no thought as to their customer's time, frustration and satisfaction factors into these practices at all. Add to that a manager who was intent on winning the "define even exchange" contest, a middle aged male cashier telling me "rules are rules" and then having the gall to tell me to "have a nice day" and you get the picture. My question to Dollar Tree is: just how many rules do I need to memorize in order to shop and yes, do exchanges with you? And why are these unnecessarily exhausting exchange ordeals even part of your business model? Anyway, I'm glad to have the 99 Cent Store to go to instead - you can do actual returns with minimal hassles. Adios, Dollar Tree!

So as usual I had to walk around while they got back. Then when I picked up my order the assistant manager accused me of having a bad attitude. By that time I did. The box was in terrible shape. One of the items was broken. Then I call and talk to the Manager and he said he was listening to my conversation and I did have a bad attitude. I told him I purchased a lot online and every time I came in to pick them up I get put on hold until someone feels like getting them from the store room. He finally says if I call first and tell them I am coming in they can get them ready.

That is the first time that has ever been offered. So if you have a pickup order don't expect any service if you just go in. You won't get it. Call first and tell them. Hope that works. Our store doesn't have enough clerks and a lot of those clerks are not trained. Don't go on the weekends at all if you live in a tourist town like I do. And as a final note. His Assistant was just getting back from lunch. Why couldn't he have come out of his office to take care of me. That would have required giving good service. Thought I was being hired to work freight, but she said the hours I put done for availability did not coincide with the hours needed for freight. She never even offered me a chance to see if I could work them hours instead put me on as a cashier. She was mean & the other two Asst. Managers were not that much better. There was only one decent one the Asst. Manager Shanika.

One time Shellie said I probably gave the customer back their change twice... NOT! She made a comment that I forgot the draw was opened & gave them their change twice. Never ever have I known that when counting your draw you put the money on a scale. I am old school. Like to count by hand. I think they need to have them calibrated to see if they are accurate. There has been times I have called the person in charge when I thought a transaction did not seem right, but they were like "no it is all right" & then when the end of my shift came & time to count draw, lo & behold I would be short & not by a little either.

She just kept making it seem like I was given back too much money. May they should have at least had someone spot me for a while to make sure I was punching the right buttons on the register. But I have been let go. I went to see if my hours were up & Shanika told me I was not on the schedule. I said "I'm not". She was like "Shellie said she was going to call you". I said "she didn't." She said she crossed my hours off the schedule. It has been four days still have not heard from her. She is very unprofessional. My letter to Dollar Tree, Inc. "Today was one of those unusual days. When I visited The Dollar Tree Store #2095, on 6/17/2016, at 4:25pm, my daughter and I did our normal shopping. Once we approached the sales associate, Brenda, at the checkout counter, I was told loudly and abruptly by the sale associate, Brenda, that I could not ring up my individual sales items and that she was not having it today. So that you know why I'm doing this, as a senior, my bank credit card company allows me to have free service without any fees to my credit card if I ring up ten individual transactions each month.

Brenda, the sales associate, informed me several times, loudly that she didn't want me to come back into her store ever again!! Wow! I have been shopping at Dollar Tree stores for over 10 years! My daughter told her that she had make that quite clear! Customers were looking at her in awe! Two of the customers came out with us and said they were shocked! Shame on Sale Associate Brenda!!

Now, I must tell you, I waited patiently in one line with my daughter for over 5 minutes before the sale associate Brenda came to open up her line. If Dollar Tree, as she claimed doesn't want mine or any seniors business I will place a sign in my church to tell All Seniors that have to make nine or ten transactions to not go to The Dollar Tree stores. Just so that I understand clearly, is this your policy or sales associate Brenda, store #2095, Cedar Hill, Texas, 75104, policy?"

I received a phone call from Mr. Travis **, he wasn't very nice at all, he had no empathy at all! Wow, is Dollar Tree's employees, all like this??? Mr. ** told me that the sale associate told him I had a shopping cart full of things. I ask him did he feel 9 items constituted a shopping cart full of things? For some reason our line got disconnected, at that point. He stated he could hear me saying... "hello, hello" and my daughter, who was listening on speaker phone, saying "Did he hang up?"

His demeanor had an arrogance about himself for someone even when he was being apologetic!! To be fair to Mr. **, he told me he wanted my business. Did he really?? He indicated that he had spoken with the sale associate. Wow, really, and who did you believe?? He kept telling me unequivocally he would not, have his sale associate apologize, period. He said he was doing the apologizing, Wow! Nor would he send me a letter with an apology!

He also told me that if you need to ring up different transactions you would have to make sure there are not a lot of people in line! I must ask you, when have you gone into the Dollar Tree store and there aren't a lot of people in line? I feel they have forgotten the type of customers they are selling to. I feel they need to hire more sale associates!

There has been a recent policy change re: carts not being able to go out of the store & into the parking lot. It has caused me to shop there less & to spend less. I am 62 years old. I have custody of a 2 yr. old & a 3.5 yr. old. I put them in the basket & shop the aisles. Now, since no carts can be removed, I'm schlepping the packages & am not able to hold the boys' hands, putting them in danger because of the laziness of Dollar Tree & its employees. What does it take to collect the carts? Part of customer service. My boys had oncoming traffic in two different directions today, with people looking at me like I'm the fool. Very enraged at this change in policy. As I said, I shop there less & spend less.

It really make me hesitate to go in but I want to give the store the benefit of the doubt. Just entering the front door the floors are dirty and grimy, the shelves are messy and unorganized. Areas are full of spilled products. If the customers feel this way imagine the employees who have to work there. I'm sure each ceo or franchise owner can hire cleaning crews at night and enough employees to upkeep the stores during open hours. All I want is to enjoy my shopping experience. "Only exchanges," I told him that he doesn't have the 25 watt I need. He went back to check and as he walked away he said "we have never carried them". I told him they have carried them because we have bought them there. He came back and said there aren't any 25 watt. Now, all this is going on without a smile, an apology, nothing. Just attitude.

I asked him if I could get a merchandise credit and he said "the card machine is down". SO I asked "when will it be fixed?" He said "I don't know". I asked him if I could exchange one of the light bulbs for the coke I was purchasing for my grandson who was with me. He did without saying a word. I didn't know there was tax on the bulbs so offered him the 7 cents tax for the pop. He looked at it and said "it is even $1.07 for $1.07. By this time I am so frustrated I asked him if I could speak to a manager. He said "I am the manager." I said "well that is unfortunate", and we left. I do not recall ever seeing a sign that says "NO REFUNDS". We buy in there all the time and this is the first time I have had to take anything back. If he is the manager, I feel sorry for the type of people that Dollar Tree hires.

I ordered some plush snakes for a preschool field day event and a week later (three days before the event) I was emailed stating that my order was cancelled. I called customer service and they are the worst customer service I have EVER experienced. Here is a summary after an hour of my wasted time:

Three people including management gave me no "I'm sorry", zero sympathy and it was not their problem. I was offered nothing except to a. re-order, spend the money out of my pocket to expedite it, and not receive it till three days after the event, b. have them find a local store and then have me drive there to pick it up - well there is no Dollar Tree near me I would have to drive to another state - plus I would have to pay for them myself - full price, no compensation for their mistake. Bottom line - I was given no compensation for my lost time and I still was out my product. I ordered $155 worth of items from them, and they offered me nothing for their mistake. Zero.

Second, when I expressed my disappointment, the response back was - "Well we didn't charge you for the item, why should we give you anything?" Well for starters, I'm 3 days before my event with 3 year olds and 24 of them aren't going to get a stuffed animal. Now in order to get them one, I'm going to need to go to another store (which I don't have time to do) and pay 2 times the cost plus expedited shipping. On top of that I just wasted an hour on the phone only to be hung up on by management (yes that's right) when my time is very valuable because I am planning this event in my free time, on breaks.

Then, when I mentioned that an alternate item wasn't going to help because - you can't ship it to me on time, and I don't have time to drive to Maryland to get it especially when I am still going to have to pay for it - I then received parenting advice from someone in management who has no kids. She proceeded to again justify Dollar Tree's mistake and why it's not their fault by saying that children that age don't get fixated on one item and another replacement should be just fine. That's when I lost it and raised my voice stating that I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I tried to get her to put herself in my shoes. She then put me on hold three times stating that she wasn't going to talk to me and then finally hung up on me.

Coming from a customer service background - they need their system updated real time to show what's in stock - or at least a notice that it could be out of stock. They need training in treating customers with respect and sympathy. They need their customer support policies updated to ensure no lost customers when they make a mistake. They have lost my business. I'm appalled. I'm blown away by what I just experienced. I'm shaking I am so angry. I will NEVER purchase from them again. I hope you don't.

Some people may say "It's just a dollar." I say it doesn't matter, I worked my hind quarters off for that DOLLAR, so what I spend it on I should be able to enjoy.

If someone was to go in the store and take an item out of the store without paying do you think the company would say "oohh it's no problem, that's just one person besides it's only a dollar?" Now let's send 10 people in there to do the same thing everyday. Now that 1 dollar is adding up, imagine his many people didn't read that fine print... If there was a rating lower than one star, this Dollar Tree should receive it. I am 63 years old and have NEVER been screamed at, called a liar, and totally disrespected in such a manner. On 3/21/16 @ 14:28 I went to Dollar Tree Store #147 to purchase a few monthly items. When I arrived at the check-out there were 2 cashier lights lit so I asked Sales Associate ** if the other register was open because the lady in front of me was taking awhile. She said, "Yes, it was open." And called out loudly several times to the sales associate not at her register with the light on.

I started placing my items on the conveyor belt and another sales associate (**) walked past and I asked her if she was working the register. She looked at me and kept walking. I again asked LaToya if the sales associate was coming and she again yelled out for the associate with no response. After the second associate (**) had helped 2 ** customers she then said to me, "I can help you." Please note that when I arrived at the registers there was only one customer in front of me and no one else in line. By the time she called me to her register all the lines had 2-3 people in the lines. The only thing I said to ** was, "I would like to speak with a supervisor." She said, "His name was **." I said again, "I would like to speak with him." Susan yelled again and ** came out of the office.

As I attempted to give him my version of the incident and what had transpired, ** at the top of her voice interrupted me and screamed at me saying, "YOU ARE LYING. If you're going to tell it, tell the truth!!!" I told her to stop yelling at me as I had not said anything to her. And that she would I'm sure receive an opportunity to tell her story. She continued to scream at me saying, "I'm sick of YOU PEOPLE!!" I asked her what she meant by, "You People?" And she said, "YOU PEOPLE coming in here lying on me and creating problems." ** repeatedly instructed her to stop her behavior, but she repeatedly ignored him and continued to attempt to engage me in an argument. I refused to do so, but did tell ** it was clear to me that ** was out of control and even in his presence with him giving her direct instructions to stop her behavior she couldn't even control herself in front of him.

Even if ** did not agree with my assessment of what took place, her actions afterwards were way worse than her initially ignoring me. As a customer who has spent thousands of dollars annually at various Dollar Tree stores and to experience such treatment warrants a complaint filed with Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau as well as the phone call that I placed to the Dollar Tree Headquarters on 03/21/2016.

This employee ** was extremely volatile, yelling, screaming, ignoring her supervisor after he repeatedly told her to stop is a powder keg waiting to blow up and presents a dangerous situation to the public as well as her employer. Because of **'s inability to control her anger I told ** that I would be filing a more formal complaint to their headquarters and before he could respond, ** again yelled, "I DON'T CARE!!!"

Note: No apology was offer by **, except to say he had just gotten to work and that he would talk to **. That was the store's "BEST PRACTICE" approach to a valid customer complaint. ** never bothered to get my name or contact number for a follow-up. It appears that ** runs that particular store and not the current Supervisor/Manager. Especially since ** was present during her rant as well as countless other customers. Store #147, is located at 7390 Bell Creek Rd. Suite 308A, Mechanicsville, VA 23111-3545.

I did go to that page and saw nothing that could be applied to my order, and so I asked again why did they cancel my order because I just don't find any fault. Finally, here's their response: "Dollar Tree only ships to the 50 United States, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. The order was placed outside of the US and was cancelled for that reason." My jaw dropped. They say that they ship to 50 United States, but cancelled my order even if the shipping address is in CALIFORNIA, just because it was placed outside the USA? How st*pid was that answer.

DOLLAR TREE, if you don't want buyers from outside the USA, BLOCK payments abroad! Why did you take my money then but you don't want to ship my order? What kind of st*pidity is this? FYI, I've been buying in the US online since 2010 and never had this kind of st*pid problem from any US sellers until I went to your online store! What kind of logic is that? You can ship anywhere in the US but you can't ship my order to California and cancelled it, just because I placed it outside the US? And the biggest joke is this - you TOOK my money even if I live outside the US even if you don't sell to people outside the US? Why you didn't block the payments from buyers like me if this is your st*pid policy? I don't care about your lame policies, all I care about is that you took my money, and I got nothing from your rude and unprofessional staff but stress!

Instead of using this money which is almost $200 to buy from other US sellers, I have to wait for almost a month now to get it back to my bank account! And don't you say sorry for the inconvenience that you've caused because I can't use your apology to pay for my online purchase!!! You have the most ST*PID system ever. Whoever replied to my emails was a coward person who's so afraid to respond to angry customers! SHAME ON YOU! I can compare you to a thief! If I could only slap your management on the face I would because of what you've done to me! You have the most biased, unprofessional and coward management EVER! Your policy sucks and is so illogical! Dollar Tree @ 78th & Portland, Bloomington, MN. Night of 1/25/16. 9:30-9:50 pm. Had a few items to buy. Was stocking up, but wanted a pair of reader eyeglasses. Manager on her cell many minutes. At 20 min to 10, she paged closing in 20 minutes. 9 minutes later she paged - "Go to register and check out." I definitely wanted the glasses & needed a few of the remaining 10 minutes to choose 1.

She demanded I check out now. I opted to leave with $18.00 of items in the cart. I offered the male clerk that he could ring what I have already, while I check out the glasses. She refused to let me shop in the final 10 minutes. The clerk said, "We get in trouble is we ??? late." Neither were helpful, polite or kind. As I left, the Female manager was grinning that she just wasted my time in carting up 18 items & forcing me to leave w/out the last item.

The manager said to me as I exited, "It's called being considerate of others". Does she think it was considerate to force a customer to leave, because she may have personal things to do. I guess my $$$ is no good there. The clerk ?'d as, "Are you just going to leave this?" Having been a loyal customer of Dollar Tree & this location, the treatment was very degrading & mean. I no longer desire to shop at what was a convenient location for me. I hope your upper management is better. I would be fired if I treated anyone like that.

I am a regular customer at Dollar Tree and shop on the regular at 4 different stores in the Long Island NY area. I visited the Levittown office and had an incident where my finger got jammed in the freezer door. My finger was stuck in between the freezer door handle and the wall where the ice cream/icies were stored. My finger was in a lot of pain and swelled up, was bruised for a week and left a black mark on my nail. However, I did not choose to get medical treatment. I immediately notified the manager and completed a customer complaint form which was forwarded to the corporate office.

I received a call 1 week later and was promised that I would receive a $50 gift card in the mail to use at my local Dollar tree to compensate me for my injury and inconvenience. It has been 4-5 months and I have not yet to receive my gift card. I reached out to Dollar Tree corporate office and left a voicemail. I have no received a call return for several weeks now. I am very upset at how Dollar Tree responds to customer injury incidents. I am a very loyal customer and I don't appreciate how the company handled my situation.

I continued to use the store after that for the next 2 years with no problems. Then one day I was told to leave the store for good as I was banned. I wanted to simply talk to the manager as to why, as I had been using the store for a while since and further was using a bike trailer. What's a reason to ban me forever?

One employee who was clearly disturbed, I believe his name was Arsenio, was irrational & threatening me with physical violence just for asking the question. I finally talked to someone else there and she simply refused me an explanation and told me to leave. I related this in much greater detail to corporate twice on their complaint form with no response. I've had numerous other bad experience with their employees. Their management must be stupid as all their employees have done is cost them business from me over a trivial matter. Hiring people who are mentally ill and potentially violent is also really stupid. The store I used is at Capitol and Lydell in Milwaukee.

I ordered solar items on 12/1 which were never filed by Dollar Tree online ordering. A label was produced on 12/10, I got an e-mail that the order had shipped but when I pulled up the tracking number it said it was never picked up by UPS. They charged my CC on 12/14. I called customer service on 12/16 and all they could tell me was the same info I could see on the internet. They told me the order was filled and shipped on 12/10, yet it was not because UPS never got the box. On 12/17, I saw those items were "returned" yet no contact from them about that or any credit on my account. I called today (12/17, the 3rd phone call, 4th person) and Crystal told me that the items were "returned". I asked them does that mean that I will never get these items since they were "returned". She avoided that question.

So I asked again since I didn't have anything to return yet the product ordered was in a returned status, does that mean I will never get my order? She said it appears that way. So their process is to print a label, e-mail you that the product is shipping, charge your credit card and don't send the product because "they are out of stock and will not be getting any more this year". I was told the distribution center may print a label but they may not have it stock when it comes to be filled. They (eventually) credit you back, but I don't know when that would have been if I had not called. They said they don't have the items packed when they print the label and sent the tracking info to UPS. I am not convinced that they were in any rush to credit me back either.

So I am out that money for a week because even when they do get that credit to my account, it won't be out of a pending status for 3 to 5 days. I was told by Crystal today that she was seeing a lot of this active in the last few days. On my 1st call, I talked to I believe DeLinda, who transferred me to Cheryl who said she would contact the distribution center and that she should get an answer in about an hour. I made a 2nd call (3 hours later) and Cindy told me Cheryl had sent the info to the other department but it usually takes up to 24 hours to get a response. I expressed my anger very nicely. She told me I could cancel the order and try and find the item in the store. I said I if I could find them in the stores, then I wouldn't have had to order them online and that I still wanted them.

Last year I ordered solar holiday items and they came in an over-sized box with no protection. Luckily, nothing broke. These are just my complaints about the online... Now to the stores... They are always messy, partly because of the customers, mostly because they are understaffed. I understand I am only spending a dollar, but most of the stuff hardly lasts only a day before it breaks or is gone.

I had a friend that used to manage a store and she would spend 50 to 60 hrs a week on salary just so her store was clean. In return they crapped on her, by having ridiculous exceptions of what days she could not take off and when her assistant quit, they never replaced him. She then had to be there almost all the hours the store was open because her part-time assistant quit too. They wouldn't bring in any extra help and this was around Christmas. I worked retail for 33 years and have never heard of a company policy that say you can't have valentine's day off if you are a manager. And you could never take a day off when you needed it even though your assistant was able to work the hours instead.

OK, short and quick - I like Dollar Tree. They have a good selection of crap, and are good in a pinch for that cheap sundry item(s) you might need to get. Cashiers are generally friendly and helpful. But... Went there last night. Bought some food products. Amazed and very disappointed in the quality and the quantity. Just a few notes of concern: Their 'Stars and Stripes' soda - We buy the diet occasionally and actually like the taste. However I noticed that the bottle has changed since the last time we bought the product. This is their big '3 Liter' soda pop bottle. On further inspection when I got home I found that the soda was 93 ounces, which is 2.75 liters. The new bottle looks like a fat two liter bottle with a regular sized cap. The old bottle was wider and had the bigger cap. Tea Bags, 100 count. - We get cheap tea when we can to make fresh brewed iced tea, because we go through it.

Anyways their 'All Natural Tea' 100 count tagless box of tea bags were almost the size of a postage stamp... (I'm exaggerating a bit), but the thing is, on further investigation the box size is the same as your normal box of Lipton tea, 100 count. But Lipton's is 8 ounces, compared to Dollar Tree's 3.52 ounces. I needed 15 bags to make a pot of tea in our ice tea maker. Tea tastes good, but a bit of a rip. Their award winning 'Columbia' American pasta. Same looking size box as any you would get in a supermarket, like Ronzoni, Barilla or even their own store brand which are usually all 1 pound boxes (16 ounces). Dollar Tree's Columbia spag weighs in at 13.25 ounces... Another slight of hand rip to just be aware of.

Their "Orchard Park" coffee creamer. Bought French Vanilla by mistake. Ughhh... OK. When I opened this, the 7 ounce container was less than half full. Seriously. I mean, it's a small container, but again just be aware - Oh, and the taste is horrible. Tastes like powdered mercury metallic imitation vanilla extract. The horror... the horror...

Their "Mountain High" roasted ground coffee actually is not putrid, but somewhat palatable. It's distributed through Tennessee, but is a product of Vietnam. I'm not sure what the Vietnamese know of making coffee, but they need some practice. Small 6 ounce bag claims to make 40 cups, but I highly doubt it. Ok, that's it for now. I guess it is always buyer beware, but companies can be very sneaky and can fool even the trained person. I still like Dollar Tree, but maybe not for any consumables anymore. Disappointed more so in myself I guess for falling for the ruse. (And never food shop when you're hungry!) Peace!

I just purchased it 2 hours ago, still had all original packaging, receipt, bag. Went to a closer Dollar Tree, Store #3489 to exchange for good frames. I still needed 2 frames. Cashier proceeds to tell me pretty much that is too bad, no returns or exchanges once opened. You could not tell they were broken/damaged until you open it!!! She said as a courtesy she will take back the one with the missing corner glass, but the other it's too bad. Yes it is a Dollar, but It is the principle of the thing. That is terrible customer service.

I have been a loyal customer of this company for years, this is really the first problem I have had with merchandise, and I must say I am not impressed at all. It took one dollar to taint a good customer, it will also take that dollar to change the minds of how many people that were in the store to hear how you are treated after you spend that dollar with this company. I asked to speak to a manager and the cashier said "I am the manager", that in itself was a turn off that a chosen manager would conduct themselves in that manner. The whole experience was eye opening and a true turn off. I would truly hope that today was not a representation of the company as a whole. I go to email company on website, Note the small box they give as message, it is not to be title of message, but actual message. Lesson learned. OMG, I have had the worst experience with Dollar Tree. My car was damaged in a parking lot directly in front of a Dollar Tree store. My car was hit so hard that there was paint and several dents on my car. I tried to find out information and there were two people kind of standing in front of the store making negative comments so I ignored them and went into the store to find out what I need to do. This poor lady was trying to help me and someone else at the same time. She told me that the assistant manager was outside. I was like "OMG", the lady standing out there she said "yes". I am like "she won't help", she has already been very negative. So with little information I secured a police report.

Found Dollar Tree's corporate number and called. They gave me the insurance name and told me an adjuster would call within two days. That was on Thurs. 8/6/15. No one called on Monday so I called again and they said they would have an adjuster call me Tues 8-11-15. Well true to their word an adjuster called and asked me how many carts and I tried to tell him that the parking lot is different and it wouldn't matter how many carts and it was not something I paid attention to. He was like "oh well we are not paying your claim, it is our policy not to pay claims if it doesn't look like the store is not cleaning up carts." I was like "how could I tell", and he was like "it doesn't matter". I then said he was being ignorant and why was he being ignorant. He was not listening to the situation and then he said that he didn't have to take the personal attack (me saying he was being ignorant), and then he hung up on me.

I asked for the rest of my money but they would give it back & when they counted the cash that was in the register, it was 1.25 over but the guy had got money from another guy before checking it. Then I told them to check their cameras but they refuse to & said "Oh, I don't know how to use them," but the person who said that was the assistant manager so he should know how to use them. But still I stayed there for 30 minutes, trying to get my cash back but still wouldn't so I left.

I was having a birthday party for my son. The theme was Mario and I had already pre-purchased 2 foil gold star balloons from Party City. On the day of the party I picked up the cake then headed next door to Dollar Tree to have these TWO balloons filled with helium (as I have done many times before for $1.00 each - same price as if I had bought the balloon there). The cashier informed me that they no longer did that and the balloon had to be purchased there. OK, so what do I do now? I simply looked at the balloons they sold and saw golden star balloons so I said... "I will take 2 of those blown up please." She says "We are out of those." Ok, so I asked to speak with the manager. I explained to her my situation and that I would gladly buy the balloons from them, only they do not have them in stock and asked if they could make an exception since this was new policy and they were out of the one I needed and she looked at me and said "No."

I did not have time to find another place to blow them up so my son had no balloons at his birthday party. My issue here is it was only 2, I was going to pay normal price for them. I offered to buy more balloons but they were out and I go in there on Valentine's day and they have 200 balloon blown up and probably half of them won't even sell but a manager did not value my business enough to say "I can do it this time since we are out of the balloon you want but in the future all balloons have to be purchased from the store at the time of inflation." I left the rest of my items I was going to purchase there and will not be back.

Shame, shame, shame! Everyone knows your name! My job is to enable my patients to return home and into the community after they have been in the hospital due to an accident, injury, stroke, or just being ill. Today, I chose to "shop" at The Dollar Tree and at check out, I had asked if they could donate something that I was purchasing that would assist me in providing great therapy to my patients. I had one item that I was purchasing (A Mediminder), that of course cost, 1 dollar. The response that I had gotten was "I'm sorry, we can't". Really?! Especially every time I go into the store they always ask ME if I would like to donate money to whatever charity they have going on. I'm sorry, this is simply unacceptable! This is truly sad and pathetic that they would not even donate a one dollar item!

I have asked some of the cashiers what is going on and they don't know what to say. Whatever happened there you better fix. It used to be a nice store but not anymore. I had purchased several Sunday Newspapers in the past and had come to find out that most coupon inserts were missing. On May 31, 2015 at 2:00 PM, I visited this store to make my regular Sunday newspaper purchase. Before purchasing, I checked the newspapers standing across from the cashiers and in plain view of the cashier, to make sure that the coupon inserts were still in the newspaper. To my surprise, several of the in-store Sunday newspaper were missing their coupon inserts. I found a set of Sunday newspaper that still had the inserts in them and were ready to make my purchase.

During check out, one of the employees approached me and rudely accused me of stealing the coupon inserts. This employee made a scene and accused me of stealing other coupon inserts and inserting it into the newspaper that I wanted to purchased. This employee did not identify herself and did not have a name tag. I explained to her that I had checked the newspapers to make sure that the coupon inserts were still in them because I had purchased several before that did not come with any coupon inserts. I even offered for the employee to check the newspapers I had, which she did not. The employee left with no explanation or apology. I asked the cashier for a manager to speak to and the cashier stated that the lady who approached me was the manager. I am an honest consumer and to make these accusation against me is absurd and unacceptable. My family and friends will not be shopping at any Dollar Tree stores!

Plus you got to have all day to spend ‘cause it takes forever to find anything and when you are ready to check out only one cashier and lines goes all the way to the back. This has been going on for a long time and I pretty sure I am not the only one complaining. Guess your company does not have any pride on how there stores look. Bottom line is it’s not the hourly employee’s fault. It starts at the management level which is the manager who is at fault if she does not have taken pride in her store she needs to be let go and someone else bought in. Far I can see she blames others for what is happening and this is not right. Guess I will travel little further and go to a 99 Cent store. It’s a lot better and I heard most people around here doing the same.

I work at the Dollar Tree in River Oaks, TX. I truly do love my job but have experienced several employee issues since I started working there. This store has not had a store manager, there were problems with payroll, I was not scheduled for two weeks without my employee ID number to clock in and out. I have started receiving less hours, along with other sales associates, due to more employees being hired and a district manager implementing one day a week for each associate, but that only includes myself and another employee.

Otherwise, the store is very clean, associates know the store well, customers are kind, and the management system is pretty good. I have heard different information on different topics from my assistant store managers, but have handled it. I know we are getting a store manager in the next 7 weeks or so, and am glad about that. I'd recommend shopping here, but not working here because other sales associates have had problems like mine with back pay and scheduling.

April 14, 2015. As a patron of this store since its inception, I have touted this particular Dollar Tree location as having the best merchandise of any dollar store I have ever patronized. I always refer people to the Largo Center dollar tree store because it has a variety of merchandise and food items too. Occasionally, over the past fifteen years (maybe more) I have encountered long lines. Albeit, whenever I would alert the on-duty manager or supervisor s/he was quick to respond with additional staff or start ringing him or herself. Heretofore, that was the case until Monday, May 13, 2015, when I experienced a total lack of consideration from two Dollar Tree customer service associates (** and **) as well as the store manager (**).

** was ringing an excessive amount of items for a customer who had left the register to go and get additional items. I had presumed the items belonged to the customer immediately in front of me. The customer quickly informed me that the items belonged to a customer who had left to continue shopping. There were several patrons waiting to be checked out. ** was ringing when I entered the store but left her register as I was walking up, leaving ** to ring all the customers by herself. I then asked to speak with the manager hoping that s/he would remedy the situation by either asking another associate to ring or ring himself. **, the manager stated something in a grumbly mumbly voice that I was unable to interpret but his callous body language was certainly clear to me. He was dismissive and continued to go about doing the nothing that he was doing.

Certainly, he was not at all concerned about providing basic, let alone outstanding, customer service to anyone. ** finally spoke in clear audible tones and stated that ** is on break, to which I responded how can she be on break if she is still working moving batteries and balloons and such. Apparently, he did not have an answer for that question since he did not provide one. I then asked him to ring us up since he too is an employee of Dollar Tree. ** had no response to that request either. I left the store thinking, feeling, and knowing that I had been totally disrespectful. As a patron of this Dollar Tree location since its inception, I know that I deserve an apology and accommodation for the maltreatment I received not only the employees, but the manager as well. The DM for this district will accuse you of being an instigator if you bring up issues related to the manager. If you don't brown nose enough, or you question things, or say no, they'll write you up in effort to terminate or make you walk. It's possible you'll be scheduled to work within a couple hrs of your last shift, you will do your job + everything else no one else was held accountable to finishing, and you'll be wrote up if you don't.

I was denied my sick pay when I had a fresh 80 hours, instead they tried to write me up for excessive absences. I refused and when asked for explanation via the handbook, there was none. Wasn't even asked for my doctor excuse. Which is another issue itself - if you give this company any personal info, it will sit out on the desk for months, yes even SS & ID copies, so everyone knows your business. I walked after 2 yrs. NEVER in my life have I done that but when you are so stressed and having anxiety attacks without even being there, it's time to go.

Upon my leaving, apparently a deposit went missing. Well the DM called me accusing me & called the cops. They came to my house, spoke with me, found me in the right, shook their heads and left. I've yet to receive an apology. They don't care about their employees, they say 98% of all theft is from the employees??? I watched by as on the daily this store is robbed which you're not allowed to stop them unless you know the specific item they stole. There's no time when there's only 2 of you working. The customers are nice and maybe with one or two exceptions, we all have quite a neat time. There always will be room for improvement, but I believe that the staff you work with is just as important as the job itself. Nobody should ever be unhappy with the work that they do.

I guess after reading all other reviews, I should be grateful and happy I have been blessed with working at this particular store. I also do not own a car and when traveling home at night (being I work all closing shifts), there is no bus service to take me across the town to where I live - approximately 1 hour and 20 minute commute there. Whenever I ran into trouble getting home, the managers and other employees offered me a ride home when I told them I might have to think of leaving. These are really genuine people, and we all understand and like one another. I pray that other stores get better morale and/or better employees which can look further than just the monetary aspect. Thank you.

I had to wait 15 minutes for the manager (named **) to come out of the back. Meanwhile, the cashier got into a heated argument with another customer. They were cursing each other out. Love my job working at dollar tree, 4 1/2 yrs. Yes overworked underpaid, especially managers. They are salary so they may work 50-120 hrs a week all depends on if they have a good team working for them. I have never worked for a manager who would ask anything of you unless they would do it themselves. Something has changed- new district manager and new store manager. This manager doesn't have a clue what he is doing, sit in office w/ feet on desk either eating or in the phone. When on floor walks around w/ his hands in pocket.

Sorry, dollar tree is a store where there's always something to do. He has employees doing resets, he takes pic and sends to district manager taking all credit. At xmas time I was stocking 12 am-8 am. One night the store manager didn't show up, left note. Following night I showed up expressed I needed to discuss my schedule. I'm a cashier- only offered to help stock, thinking he was hiring stickers. The two he hired quit first week. When I said I wanted to discuss my schedule he went off yelling to me I get paid, told me to leave property. I told him "no, I didn't drink a pot of coffee to be sent home." I was there to work.

He then threatened me he was calling cops to have me removed. I left. He followed. He apologized and ask me to come in and work. I thought all was good. Needless to say xmas is over and I have given him 3 weeks to fix my schedule back to 20 hrs a week cashiering, instead he has hired 3 new cashiers and gives them more hours. I am also next in line for asst manager. Position is available and he has not asked me if I want it and he won't because he knows he is lazy. And I cannot work w/ him.

Needless to say the job I love because Iove my customers is coming to an end. Monday I am going in to talk w/ him and district manager w/ other employees that are not happy w/ the way he treats them. I have been through 5 managers and can't count asst managers that have quit. Good managers and asst managers. He is overall the worst. He says he has 28 yrs experience from target. But I believe he must of been a janitor, no kind of manager.

I was an employee with dollar tree as a cashier. I enjoyed my job for 2 years. I just lost my job because I was missing 50.00 dollars from my register. Two weeks ago my manager wanted to suspend me from work. I just find this to be very odd. I would think that loss prevention can confirm what happened in my register. My receipts were taken out where I had this 50.00 dollars. I would like to know what happened to this money. If it was really an error on my part I would know why. My manager was asking me for change for 50.00 dollars. If she would of gotten change from the office I would of not lost my job. Managers and assistant managers are also allowed to open registers as any time. I think when having to give change to managers they should go to the office to get change, not in the middle of transactions in the register with the cashier and customers waiting in line. Just to avoid any conflict. Loss prevention should be able to find out what happened. Like the law says you are innocent until proven guilty. Thank you. This incident happened on Crossroads/Mesa Dollar Tree in El Paso, TX.

I recently had the opportunity to witness an encounter between a manager and her employee; which deeply disturbed me. I was in the Deals store located in Fiesta Square here in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The store at the time was moderately busy as it was the Christmas season. The cashier was ringing up the items a customer had purchased. The customer gave the cashier a twenty dollar bill and the cashier put it in the drawer and accidentally didn't give the customer her change. When asked about the change, the cashier immediately called the manager over to open the drawer and to correct the situation.

I heard the customer explain to the manager that she had distracted the cashier and that is how the situation occurred. However, the manager chose to ignore the customers explanation and proceeded to tell everyone in line that this particular cashier does this frequently and is easily distracted. This made me quite uncomfortable because of the managers derogatory remark toward her employee.

My turn at the register was next and I immediately apologized for having to overhear the conversation and tried my best to assure the cashier that she had done nothing wrong. I am a frequent customer in this store because I personally like the staff there, and it is one of the few stores owned by Dollar Tree that is always stocked well, and clean. I am concerned, however, about a company that allows their managers to treat the employees with such disrespect and callousness. I say this because I have on several occasions heard other remarks made by this manager to her employees; and the same goes for the store in Springdale, Arkansas. I believe the managers in this case would probably not handle a dispute with the customer in an appropriate manner if the customer hadn't admitted to distracting the cashier. Perhaps the managers at their stores would benefit from further training, or perhaps being placed in another store where their particular problem-solving skills would be more appropriate.

As a customer, I tend to notice the interaction of people and when that interaction isn't pleasant, the attitudes of the staff members are affected. I have to give the employees of this particular store a great deal of credit since they appear to be working daily with a woman who appears to be more punitive than necessary for her position. The employees seem to take it in stride and go on to do their jobs and they are really good with the customers. I can't seem to find the receipt for this particular day; however, I do have subsequent receipts from that same store. I continue to shop the store because I really like the employees and it is considerably less than Big Lots and Harps which are in the same plaza.

I have worked a lot of stressful jobs with inadequate supervisors/managers. Jobs that entailed a lot of physical labor, poor pay and even poorer benefits packages. I have worked crazy hours, back to back shifts and doubles... but being an employee at Dollar Tree has taught me that just when you think things cannot get any worse... you better think again! You DO NOT GET PAID BREAKS unless you only work 4 hours shifts. Pa work law states that an employer MUST give employees paid breaks if said break is less than 20 minutes... NOT SO says Dollar Tree Corp! You are REQUIRED to take a ten minute UNPAID break for any shift longer than 4 hours. A 6 to 8 hour shift REQUIRES you to take a 30 minute UNPAID break AND a 10 minute UNPAID break... 8 hour shift or longer REQUIRES 2, 30 minute UNPAID breaks and 2, 10 minute UNPAID breaks! Really?!? If I am on the schedule for 30 hours a week, I end up REALLY only getting paid for maybe 27 hours... but I am at that store for MORE than 30! And what about being REQUIRED to be on call EVERY Friday night or whenever the freight truck decides to show up?!? No exceptions to that rule!

Management is intolerable and I am an ASM! I can honestly say that I have NEVER disliked a job so much! Bad management, bad company policies, employees are told that they are replaceable, no benefits unless you are a full time employee but no one gets full time except store managers. Overworked, underpaid, unappreciated, made to feel like you are less! When you get that call from the store manager (you filled out that job application and you know they want you for an interview), and she says "Come in Wednesday and talk to me... If I like you then you can have an interview with the DM!" RUN... DO NOT WALK TO YOUR NEXT JOB DESTINATION!!!

Right after I paid, I noticed I was charged a dollar for the 50 cent item, and asked why, was told that someone must have put a dollar item in the 50 cents box. I asked for my money back and was told "no refunds". I said "it was not a refund, I was overcharged" and she refused. She then told me 'I should have known items in the 50 cents box were marked with a tag. Nothing said this on the box, and most of the items in the box did not have a tag. Got a manager who argued with me for a while, first said "no refunds" then relented after a bit, but kept insisting what the cashier had said. For example, the cashier had never said "no refunds" when the manager was not there, could not have heard the exchange, rude, ignorant and lacking in any customer focus.

Another time, I misread a sign and through something was 2 for a dollar, there was a sign, but it was for another item, but on the shelf right next to the item I thought it was referring to. I was told that 'everything is a dollar' in a rude condescending way. After going back to the shelf and verifying this, admitting it was my mistake, the cashier rang up the rest of my items, rudely saying "you know this is a dollar, right?" So, I faxed a copy of it to the FAX number I was given. I waited for the confirmation that the shipment was on the way. Instead, I was emailed that it was cancelled because our TE # was not current. At that time, I called our St. Vincent local headquarters and they FAXed the TE# to the FAX number given and they also completed the form sent by your office - so, a copy of our tax exempt certificate and verification on Dollar Tree's tax exempt form.

Once again waited for confirmation of shipment and when nothing came, I called them again and was told the order was again cancelled because our tax exempt certificate was not current. I'm looking at the stars to click to rate my experience. I don't want to say I'm angry...what would that solve? Dissatisfied - certainly. What can we do to correct this? I can not tolerate talking to another order taker telling me our tax exemption forms are not correct. I need someone with more authority to help us out here. I have, on several occasions, been in a long line at the store and have heard Hattie come up behind me and tell the customers at the end of the line that she was opening up on register one. She did this again when I was in the store approximately 2 months later. I again mentioned to her that it was only common courtesy to take the next in line and she again told me that she was sorry that I felt that way but that there was nothing she could do about it because there is nothing in the reg manual that says she has to take the next in line. A young male associate responded and made her aware that he was opening up another register to assist with the long line that was forming in the store but acknowledged that he had left the items in the aisle; she made a sharp piercing comment to him again in a very rude and unprofessional tone "You're going to get back there and get that." My heart sank as I listened to her disrespectful tone. Before I knew it I exclaimed Wow! There was a younger girl in front of me, who made the comment, that the manager talking should be fired. I stated to her, that the manager should not be talking to the associate that way and stated that her behavior was terrible; especially being that this was done in front of customers.

As we were conversing, a gentleman who stated that he was a manager interjected approaching the situation by stating that the lady manager had never received a customer service complaint and by stating that she had been doing this type of work for a number of years. I believe he stated 20 years to be exact. I then made him aware, that I was not speaking to him and stated that no matter how long she had been in the business; that the way she spoke to the sales associate was not the way a manager should speak to an employee. I then shared with him that I had been working for more than 28 years with the majority of my experience being in management and that was not the appropriate way to talk to staff. I continued shaking my head because I just could not believe that the managers thought this behavior was appropriate and especially in front of the customers.

The young associate thanked me and I made the comment to him that he should not let anyone talk to him that way. At that time, the manager interjected and stated that I needed to let her associate tell her if they thought she was speaking to them inappropriately and stated that she would have me banned from the store. I made her aware, that I would not be leaving the store until I paid for my items; but let her know that I thought she was a terrible manager and that I would be contacting the Corporate Office. She told me her name and stated if I could spell it and told me that I was ugly. As the associate was ringing me up; I was still in disbelieve and stated this is terrible. Which it truly was. The associate told me to have a blessed day and I proceeded to walk out of the store.

As I was getting into my car, lo and behold the manager was right behind me taking down my license plate number, threatening to press harassment charges on me as well as banning me from the store. I told her that she needed to get back into the store; as she went back into the store she **. Wow, I thought this is the type of manager that Dollar Tree is hiring to run their store. Someone stating that I was harassing her when she followed me out of the store harassing me and to boot **. Really!

When I arrived home, I called the store to get the number to the Corporate Office. The young lady on the phone who when I heard the voice was none other than ** the manager who stated the number was 1 800 get the number yourself and hung up. I contacted the store again, and could hear a gentleman in the background stating do not answer. It was ** who answered stating his name. I asked again for the number to the Corporate Office and was made aware that they would be contacting police which I really hope they will; so that this store can be investigated to show how terrible they really are.

I made him aware that was fine and that I feel that my right of Freedom of Speech was violated. I have a right to voice my concerns and initially I was not speaking to him. I was speaking to the young lady ahead of me that had the same concern. I believe that these two managers displayed just how incompetent they are and should be penalized for their poor judgment and lack of professionalism. I will never shop at Dollar Tree again and will make sure that all my family, friends and associates are made aware of this matter. This was a horrible experience which could have been diffused had the managers had addressed this matter with diplomacy and professionalism.

A stray cart by the check out lanes rolled towards me while I was taking a step and I fell forward flat onto their concrete floor and terribly hurt my knee. Dollar Tree refused to take responsibility for their negligence in allowing all these stray carts to pile up which resulted in injuring me. My healthcare was ending so I was unable to get the surgery the specialist recommended for a Meniscal Tear. I am in constant pain. My injury attorney wanted to sue Dollar Tree in small claims court but I cannot afford the upfront cost for an attorney. I am already out a lot of money for all the healthcare I received and my payments towards that before my policy ended.

I blame the manager who sat in the office doing nothing while the cashiers rang up lines of people 10 deep with kids running and jumping around. The pile up of carts were his responsibility to gather together. His job is to aid the cashiers. But when you have management at the top who's negligent in their responsibility towards a injured 55 year old customer, you have the trickle down effect of negligent store mangers. I will never shop again in this crummy store with negligent management.

Just like your mission statement that should be posted. This is explaining your customer service. Oh yeah you don't have that either.

I visited Dollar Tree in Plano after reviewing their Sunday paper ads. When I checked out I had coupons that matched some items, however, the register would not recognize some of them. I was careful to make sure that each coupon matched the item and the size exactly. The cashier said that the register would not accept them. I asked him to put them in manually. He said it was against store policy. I asked him if it was the correct items for the coupon. He said it was but the register would not take it. I told him never mind to put those items aside. He said he had to ring everything else up again and start over.

The 2nd time the register rejected a coupon that only moments prior it had accepted. At that point I was ready to walk out of the store with nothing. He tried again and it took the coupon. I asked him to see if it would take the others that he had set aside. He refused because he said the register would not take them. So aggravating. If the coupon matches the item exactly, then the coupon should be able to be put in manually. This is ridiculous and at this point it is just not worth my time to add Dollar Tree to my list of places to shop. Seems dollar tree has an abundance of shoppers and doesn't care if they lose one. Horrible customer service.

I would request you to kindly price each item sold over a dollar on the items. People get so confused because nothing is priced. I shop a lot on 86 Street Brooklyn, NY 11214. And the store is such a mess. Every time you step in to the store you find so many u boats on the isles. Cashiers have no option of checking a price if a customer wants. We suggest that you have a price check machine at the entrance of the store, or an option on the cash register which will ease out and avoid voids as cashiers always complain about their voids. Thank you.

I'm employed with Dollar Tree Canada. I'm going to provide minimal details because I don't trust the ethics of the company. I've been doing the job of the full time assistant manager since I was hired but have been receiving cashier pay and eventual part time assistant manager pay. Request that I get the promotion to receive the proper pay for the job I am doing is met with the response "be happy you're getting the hours". They have sent almost 10 managers to this store since it opened all have done nothing but sit in the office and demand others work harder to pick up their slack.

The law states breaks are to be 15 minutes, the Dollar Tree manual states 10 minutes. I don't know how they continue to get away with such blatant disregard for labor law. I've seen from other complaints from employees the practice of not firing people and forcing them to quit instead is not unique to my store. Assistant manager have quit leaving me and one other manager forced to work double shifts, work up to 2 weeks straight and the response when asking for permission to hire someone is to delay and ignore.

The distribution center is absurdly incapable of doing their jobs. They send skids with chips on the bottom and water on top leading to damaged product. They stack chemicals and food on the same skid and due to poor skid building we often have to deal with broken bottles of chemical being spilled all over food items with shards of glass mixed in for good measure. Complaints to the district manager about such things is met with nothing, they simply do not care. A cashier had a close family member die and the incompetent manager decided to cut her hours to zero as punishment for asking for a couple days off to go to the funeral.

A cashier got into a car accident on the way to work and quickly called to let us know she wouldn't be able to make it in. The manager decided to cut her hours to zero as punishment for missing that shift. If a customer is overcharged it is Dollar Tree policy to not give them their money back, there is no way to properly give them money back without simply shorting your till.

Training consists of half an hour of being shown how to work the till, a few comment about how to do stock and then infinite time of being chastised for not following a policy that is nowhere to be read about and no one has ever told you before. We had to fight with the district manager to get them to stop ignoring the orders form the health and safety inspector.

Nepotism is strong in this company, 2 of the incompetent managers they've sent have been personal friends of people in the head office. We've received calls from other manager asking if we're hiring at our store because a friend or family member is looking for work. In Canada there's no pennies anymore so you have to round to the nearest 5 cents. This causes the till to be off no matter what you do and you're accused of stealing due to it. If employees are assaulted by customers district managers don't care, show no concern and at best will chastise you for causing problems by being assaulted.

They literally inform you that you don't matter to the company and you can be replaced. They inform you of this so that you know not to put in any complaints about not receiving the proper pay or not being given the proper break time or being punished for having family die. Too many complaints from you and say hello to actions being taken to force you to want to quit (which is illegal).

We try to offer good customer service, we're forced not to by Dollar Tree policy. A lot of the complaints on this site about cashiers and assistant managers sound like what I'm forced to do to follow the policies or get punished, at the end of the day having a job to pay my bills is more important than making you happy by ignoring those policies. Blame the corporation not the employee who I can assure you is likely as unhappy about what they're telling you as you are.

Inventory is a mess, the distribution center sends you the wrong product regularly. This throws off your inventory counts, it's too much to be able to check every item off the truck and then when you do inventory and it is off by a lot you're punished for it. It doesn't matter how many times you show your district manager - another example of the distribution center messing up, it's you who gets punished for their mistakes and nothing is done to ensure it doesn't happen again and again. One of the incompetent managers they sent regularly changed the schedule the day before to make people be late so that they could fire the people they didn't like. That's all I've got right now.

I have no complaint about the employees of this store, all of them are very courteous and helpful. My complaint is about the Manager, I go to the Store at least once a week, and I buy all the stuff that I need and you carry. I take my aunt to the Store once every 2 weeks and she spends over $80.00 every time. I bought the wrong item, and I didn't have my receipt, I just wanted to change it, not return it, and he said NO, because I didn't have a Receipt and that's the policy of the store.

My question is what's the big deal to change one detergent for another of the same Brand. Another encounter was when I asked him, personally, for a new balloon and he said NO, that I had to take the ones that were already done. As you could see I don't like to be treated like that, I am the customer, I still go to that Store, because it is the only one near me, and because I like to shop in The Dollar Tree. Thanks for your attention.

The store I enter is in East Gadsden, Alabama. Of course this not the first time I had this experience. Each time I go in this store to get the simplest thing, the lines are backed up and one cashier. I've put the item back and left. This particular day June 26, 2014, I enter with my godson which he is four, trying to get what I needed and get out of there. Don’t get me wrong, I work in retail and have done it for many years so I know that you not gonna always go in and walk right out. But I suggested that she call someone else being that she had a customer with a belt full of groceries, and she wanted them bagged separately. She told me that she didn't have a line, really!

In this there was several associates walking around. I got one attention. She asked me what I needed like it was a bother to her, being she was socializing with a friend or someone she knew. The baby was running all over the store. Whereas I constantly chasing him, until another customer stopped him for running out the store. Now I’m on hold with customer relations, have been for about twenty minutes, and this suppose to be the operator because the extension voicemail is full. Since last week, this is bad all the way around.

I got cut off before. Don't know if it registered. Anyway unless you want to be unappreciated, overworked, underpaid, yelled at or written up for bogus crap because they like turnovers so they Don't have to give raises. Or wait until your totally invested into the store for years and decide all who have worked in management for 10 years need to go. They want to bring in younger people to do the job for half the pay. Believe you me, it is not an easy job managing at the Dollar Tree. It's all about the buck. Not the ones helping make the buck. Too many demands. Not enough hands.

Where is the undercover boss who is honest enough to exploit his own company and the evil people that run it for them? What about the good people who go out of their way for their store and your company? Those who came because of promises and their dreams shattered because of your lies and slavery ways. Corporations are getting way out of hand because they find loops to screw you. Can anyone live on 13 hours a week w/ minimum pay? Ah, no. But my cashiers and hardworking stockers are suppose too. Also expected to produce 8 hrs. of work in 4? Your good work and experience and excellent training of others doesn't mean squat to Corp. They hire you for your skills and get rid of you for the same reason. Not a good place after 11 years. Kick in the pants. Not any truth in them. Good luck Charley.

I wanted to order bins for my classroom library. In order to place an order online, I had to purchase 36 of them. Online, it was stated that the bins measured approximately 10" by 8". Unfortunately, when I received the order, I found this was only the top measurements. The bottom of the bin measures 7 1/2" by 5 1/2" (not stated online). Because of the bottom measurements, I found these baskets to be too small to hold many of the classroom books. Dollar tree will not refund or exchange the bins for larger ones. I was in the Dollar Tree in Branson MO. Had 11 of one item. The checkout counted 12 and scanned one item 12 times. After paying, I recounted because I had taken all they had and wasn't positive of the amount. There were only 11. I entered the store and was greeted with "We don't give cash refunds". It wasn't a refund, it was an overcharge. She willingly took my cash. She asked if there was something else I might want. Hum, I got what I wanted the 1st time. She called the someone and told her to charge her for a pop and get her $10 cash. I had to wait until she was done checking out the entire line.

I asked the someone if she was the mgr. and she was asst mgr. Asked if there was a mgr and she was it. She would not give me the overcharge because it would make her drawer short. AND THAT COULDN'T HAPPEN. So the checkout girl gave me the $1 plus tax out of her own pocket. Sounds to me like there are some simple minded people here. Why did she count and scan one item? What does this policy do for inventory, customer satisfaction? Seems like it is a tactic to sell more. How many times in one day did she do this?

I approached one register and was told to go to the other by the lady attending this register. Mind you she had a customer that was checking out. When I get to the other register all of the sudden this lady checks out another customer. I can't believe she made me do a line in another register if she was open. I had my baby and my child with me and she made me wait in another line and she didn't check me out when I approached her register. When I finished I went to see her and I ask to speak to a manager so happens to be she was the manager. Can't believe they gave her that position. I will not be going to a dollar tree ever again.

On Monday 3/10/2014 our son visited the Dollar Tree store # 4765 at 790 Powder Springs Road in Marietta, GA. He is high functioning autistic; therefore, he has a job coach who plays intermediary when he applies for work. The assistant manager was told by **, the store manager who yelled from a back room "tell her we don't hire people with disabilities." The clerk/assistant repeated this to the job coach, who informed her that she shouldn't make those kind of statements in a place of business. Then ** yelled, "Tell her it's Dollar Tree's corporate policy. We don't hire people with disabilities." The assistant did this and then shouted the coach down about the store policy/ practices etc.

Upon being notified of this I called the store and asked to speak to the manager. A woman came to the phone. I asked for her last name. ** (I don't know the spelling or her last name because she refused to give me either) told me she wasn't going to give me any of her information. "Who ARE YOU?" she shouted into the phone. I told her that I was a customer. "YOU COULD BE ANYBODY," she said. Attempts to call Virginia are fruitless since all the mailboxes are full and callers stay on a continuous voicemail loop. I have yet to be connected to a live person. After posting a complaint on Facebook a rude person from Dollar Tree HR called me. This company will never get another dollar from my friends and family.

The only reason why I am reminded of this horrible place is because I received a letter in the mail about a class action lawsuit against Dollar Tree "Deals". The lawsuit was about being forced to work off the clock and I have to say that this is all true. I was employed at the Dollar Tree's "Deals" store in Brooklyn, NY. At first, it felt like a dream come true because I was 19 years old and thought this job would help me get some money. Now I wonder why I lowered my standards to work at that horrible place. Because I had no skills at the time and no choice but to work there. When I was applying for the job, they gave out pens to fill out the application. When I submitted the application to the employer/manager "Troy", he gave me a look and asked why I used a blue pen when that was the only color pen they provided. I was thinking, "are you serious?" He then gave me a short interview.

About 2-3 weeks later, I was employed but I had to go through proper training. This training was a complete joke. It was just basically watching another cashier handle the cash register. I don't know if this is considered free money, watching for nothing or what? I did not get any hands-on for anything. Everything was "watch what I am doing" and they expect you to learn. They also tell you NOTHING about any policies so if you do something wrong, you get in trouble and if you tell them you didn't know, they tell you "well you should've". Here are several more points I will make based on my experience working here. Disrespectful Manager: At the time, I wore religious attire which included a long full body dress that reached my feet. It was supposed to be modest. Being that my pants show when I walk, I did not want anyone to see hideous sweatpants flapping everywhere underneath and buying slacks would be completely pointless.

I wore blue jeans for months and no one noticed and since it didn't really show, I didn't think it would matter. My manager took me to the office and asked me why I am wearing blue jeans WHEN he lifted up my dress! I would appreciate it if he just told me but he actually went to pick my dress up to make a point? On top of that, he said my blue jeans are inappropriate for work yet there are workers here with rainbow tattoos on their and faces, facial piercings, wearing yellow jeans and a pink sweater? (And no, I am not joking about the piercings, tats and bright colored clothes) Might I also note that they gave out official collared shirts to wear with the logo. I was the only one who didn't get one and they never told me why. Staff is completely rude, obnoxious and disrespectful. All these employees including the managers are party animals and all they talk about is going out at night.

I was completely left out and really didn't care until I came into the office once and asked for something and as I walked out, I heard them talk and laugh about me. I was incredibly upset. If you signed up to be a Sales Associate, you can forget about your job title. That was exactly how I ended up getting training as a Cashier instead. They make you do every job possible in the world..even clean up dog poop if possible. These franchises and big corporations really know how to squeeze every working penny they are paying you until your legs kill you for the next 4 days. If you are a cashier, you are required to clean the floors, vacuum the floors, sweep, clean the windows, make 8 announcements on the intercom throughout the day, pick up calls on the phone, put back items customers didn't want (even if they weren't your customers), refill the "impulse" section, empty the trash (that wasn't even yours), take out more plastic bags to put items in, and tons of others thing you shouldn't be doing.

You would think a cashier would have enough time to do all this? NOT! Since I didn't have time to do all of the above mentioned "chores" as a cashier, I was penalized multiple times as if it's my fault I didn't have time. My manager was required to do an evaluation to show how each employee does. I didn't know this until I was called into the office and he asked me to sign the form without even telling me what it was about. I sneakily read it, and it turns out to be his evaluation form and how he rated my work to be substandard and/or average. Are you kidding me? I am not a slacker and I can promise I work my ___ there every day I'm there. I put a smile on my face every single day (regardless of my mood) and I'm always on time and ready to work. I see almost the same customers all the time and they have told me I am very pleasant. Your hard work will never be noticed if you work at this place.

I was the only cashier working and the customer line went all the way to the other side of the store. When I called for back up, no one answered. The customers kept yelling at me telling me to keep trying and call again and so I did. I got a call from my manager (same one who lifted my dress) and yelled at me. I wanted to punch this jerk's face so badly. When there was a thief, my manager asked why I didn't confront this creepy mysterious scary looking thief. My manager really asked a 5 feet tall, 110 lb girl to go up to this large guy and take the merchandise back? Was that supposed to be a joke? If you're short a few pennies in your cash register after counting, they would penalize you. If you were supposed to leave at 5PM, they would take you to count your register at 5:15PM and be done by 5:30PM. The whole time I was waiting for my register to be counted, the manager told me they're not paying me for the half hour I waited because I wasn't "working".

If I'm there, wasting my time when I could've been home, then yeah I consider it working. As a customer during my work and after I quit, I can say that this place is incredibly filthy. There were rats that bit into boxes of food. The cans are crushed. The AC was not strong in the summer and it felt like there were allergens everywhere. Some items that were opened were placed back into packaging to think it's new. Items have been taped back together, etc. I have to say what a relief it was to finally leave this dumpster trash called a workplace and never look back. Employees were outright not friendly, environment was hostile and dirty. The $7.50 before taxes did not justify anything and earning $70 a week really did nothing. It barely covered a monthly unlimited MetroCard (NYC). Do yourself a favor and don't work here unless you're on the edge of death. This place is trash: good riddance.
