    After having a very stressful start illness with My Maltese and making her well, it was a pleasure to know that every time I submitted a claim, it was taken care of professionally and within the week and already credited my account.     I paid for top-tier coverage (very low deductible, 90% coverage, preventative plan) and the expeditious reimbursement for my puppy’s first vet visit two days after I started the plan is a welcome sign of how this company operates. While the coverage allowance is lower than my vet prices on almost everything, it has more than paid for itself this first month - and with microchipping and spaying coming in the next few months I’m sure it will pay for itself during this first year. I did not have insurance for my last dog, and she developed several extremely expensive conditions that made my finances troublesome for the second half of her life. The peace of mind this plan offers is worth it even if I wasn’t already seeing costs being covered!

    I've been a little burned by pet insurance in the past... They always found a way to weasel out of paying till you just don't see the worth in paying.... (Go pet plan - don't recommend). Spot is different! At first we started off on the wrong foot when they denied the allergy food my vet prescribed calling allergies a pre existing condition.... (My dog had grass allergies prior to my plan) but the food was for potential food allergies. Still whatever, it's just a food. But ever since then EVERY SINGLE THING I have filed a claim for has been paid. My cat Smokey had his lens disconnect and float to the front of his eye... We just had 3 animal ophthalmologist specialty visits, an er visit, and a last minute surgery that cost a whopping $8500. I filed the claims once I got the medical records and I didn't have to fight to get my reimbursement!! I filed online and in 4 days it got approved.

    They really are a good company and anyone looking for a pet insurance that doesn't have a long list pre-existing conditions consider giving Spot a try. If I was to wish anything to change I wish they would let me add more coverage to my policy (I couldn't afford the higher policies when I first signed up). I wish I did the unlimited coverage vs 10,000 annual reimbursements. And I wish I can upgrade my coverage amount from 70% to more. They give you all these options in the beginning but once you sign up you can only go lower not higher.

    It's our first puppy, and I have compared several insurance companies and their policies and decided to try Spot Pet Insurance (because they cover Vet office visit while most others don't). I did not expect to use the insurance at all, but little did I know about puppies. Not too long after activating the policy, our puppy swallowed a soft dinosaur toy and ended up in emergency care. Then few weeks later he ate marijuana someone threw on the street; another Vet visit. Both times, we submitted the claims and were reimbursed quickly. No questions asked. The claim process was like a breeze. We were so glad we got insurance from Spot.

    I can’t say enough good things about SPOT Insurance. Both of our claims were entirely unexpected and SPOT came through without hesitation to help us with the expenses.     Services provided were great and then they raise my rate an additional $150.00. This was for my 2 pets. They take forever to send your check. It seems like an unreasonable price increase. I decide to switch to Figo thru Costco.com.

    This was the first pet I decided to get insurance for. I did some extensive research before deciding and let me tell you I wasn't disappointed with choosing Spot. I had my very first claim for my Maine Coon kitten to have I neuter and between the day I submitted the claim to payment I was super impressed at how quickly they got it done!!! I highly recommend Spot. I do have my kitten extra covered with not only preventative but I added the accident and illness as well and paying the extra and I feel like down the road it will be helpful and worth it if needed.

    They try their best not to cover your medical charges. My dog had a bacterial infection of the eye previously which was treated with antibiotics (did not have Spot insurance at the time). A few weeks later my dog developed allergies which manifested as eye redness but Spot did not want to cover the medical charges because they considered it a continuation of his bacterial infection several weeks prior. They proceeded to explain that they would not cover any eye inflammatory conditions for the next SIX months due to their policy. Waste of money - recommend going with other insurance companies.

    Absolute scam. They changed the dates of my coverage so they weren't on the hook for the first appointment that I had during my Spot 'coverage', then used extensive creative license to mark the second and third appointments as 'pre-existing conditions.' It was a skin rash. Dealing with their customer service was wild, they were the most condescending people I have come across while owning a dog. This insurance is an absolute joke. Go with anyone else, especially if you have a pitbull.

    Spot Pet Insurance denied my claim when my dog tore his ligament. They indicated it was a pre-existing condition because of degenerative disease. In a sense, they denied the claim with what every dog goes through when they get older. They should be ashamed of themselves taking my premium each month knowing they will deny every claim due to a pre-existing condition that occurs in every dog. Don't use them. They will take your money with no intention of paying a claim.

    In my short time and personal experience paying this underhanded company, I have found them IMO to be completely dishonest, unethical (lying to deny obviously legit claims) and slightly paranoid and obsessive. In addition to refusing to pay a claim that was 100% legit, once I won a BBB case, they refused to communicate with me to work out the details. To me, it appears they only tried to close the case so it was closed and then had no intention of working anything out with me. I believe they also might be cyber stalking me as I have had a review repeatedly removed by them on a review site that was a legit review and it also appears they create aliases to create false positive reviews to increase their scores.

    One week, their BBB review score was 1 star and some with over 100 negative complaints. The next week I guess they paid to clean it up bc suddenly it’s 3 stars and some, with only about 30. I didn’t screenshot it, but I saw it with my eyes. They have not responded to over 30 emails trying to work things out peacefully, and they have blocked me on social media as well. I am convinced personally in my opinion that their positive reviews and high ratings are completely paid for. I met someone else they blocked on FB too, and probably did worse things too so this is a pattern. IMO they only act like they care about animals, but seems to me they only care about $$$. I’m sure they’ll be petty and try to get this review removed too because that’s what thin-skinned bullies do.

    For the last two years, our two West Highland Terriers have had health issues...one with chronic skin allergies, and bacterial and yeast infections; the other had two separate ER visits. Spot reimbursed me as contractually agreed upon on each claim and did so in a timely manner. Best decision I've made to chose Spot as our pet insurance. One recommendation, however: Spot needs to re-evaluate its coverage limits for wellness/annual checkups. Charged prices by most vets exceed these limits, leaving the policy holder with higher out of pocket responsibility.

    I really appreciated what Spot has done for my aging Viszla. Georgie is nearly 11 years old at this point, and really does need a lot of care. We take him in to the vet about once a month at this point, and having Spot has really reduced the financial burden that caring for an aging dog puts on me. I do have the platinum plan, and I will say that if I had a lower tier it would be more expensive. That being said, I have absolutely saved more on vet visits and medication that I have spent on Spot. Highly Recommend!

    Terrible experience. It is basically throwing away your money. They look for any reason not to reimburse you after something happens. Please do not choose Spot Pet Insurance. I was denied on 3 out of 3 claims. Now not only am I in debt $6,000 but I have put the $250 pet deductible and the $70 a month for an insurance that is only out to steal your money!

    I tried to file claims online but the website was not user friendly and the website would freeze. I finally printed claim forms and filed by email. Claims were processed in about a week and I received notice that they were completed. Email said I would receive reimbursement between 7-10 days. Well, I haven't and I am now being told to give it at least 3 weeks and if I haven't received the checks by then, they will do a stop payment and reissue the checks. This is ridiculous and I am so disappointed with Spot.

    The app has a couple of small issues that they are working to resolve, but it is a quick and easy way to submit claims. The turnaround for processing isn’t bad. It usually takes about a week to 10 days to get reimbursed. Overall, we are really happy with Spot Insurance and have recommended it to our Veterinarian for their customers.     Overall I've been happy with Spot Pet Insurance. They do take longer to process claims than other pet insurance companies I have been with, but they do get them processed. They have had to request records from my vet a couple times, the vet has responded same day, and it has taken me calling them to make them check to see if they have the requested records before they will stop emailing the vet asking for the records and sending me emails saying they need more info. There seems to be a disconnect between when records are received and when they are uploaded to the account and the claim status is changed. The issues I've had were relatively minor and the insurance company has been fair with my claims, though as previously stated, they take a bit longer than I'm used to when processing claims.

    I have reported this company to BBB and am waiting for a response. I was notified that my claim has recently been completed - Claim Number: **. I see that the "Rectal insufflation DISCOUNTED Ozone therapy 6 sessions" was not reimbursed, as this was ultimately found to be an "experimental therapy" by the customer service agents I have since spoken with, although I was never notified of this when I had submitted my estimate for this treatment in advance.

    I explained to both customer service representatives that I had submitted an estimate (Claim #**) ahead of time for the "Rectal insufflation DISCOUNTED Ozone therapy 6 sessions" (same treatment), to ensure that this would be approved prior to paying for this procedure and having it administered, as I don't have the funds to pay for this myself. I see that, via the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) for the estimate submitted (Claim #3787215), Rectal insufflation DISCOUNTED Ozone therapy 6 sessions was FULLY APPROVED. There are no exclusions listed for Rectal insufflation DISCOUNTED Ozone therapy 6 sessions, nor is it listed as an experimental therapy anywhere on the EOB within that estimate (Claim #**). If this was determined to be an experimental therapy, then this should never have been approved on the prior estimate - (Claim #**).

    This is a fault/error of Spot Pet Insurance, not an error on my behalf. I am requesting full reimbursement for the Rectal insufflation DISCOUNTED Ozone therapy 6 sessions treatment at 90% reimbursement for the amount of $258.00 on the basis that this treatment was approved in advance via Claim #**, and it is solely through the fault of Spot Pet Insurance that I was not notified that this was an experimental treatment. Please find attached the EOB for Claim #** showing that all "Professional Services" were fully approved in advance, (to include Rectal insufflation DISCOUNTED Ozone therapy 6 sessions).

I purchased the most expensive policy they have....I was paying $118 per month for my dog. The only claim That I ever filed...they pulled every stall tactic in the book! I uploaded every single record for my dog....he was only 1 year old so there wasn't a ton of paperwork. They kept asking me for the same forms over and over. They claim they process their claims in 3 days! What a load of crap...3 weeks after I filed my claim I was still waiting for an answer & every time I logged into my account it still said they were waiting for the same paperwork that I sent over and over again. Like all the other reviews...they denied the claim with no reason whatsoever. This company is just a sham!

    My experience with Spot has been poor. It seems they are deeply understaffed as any claim I have submitted has been a huge effort in futility. Spot continuously will respond saying they are missing medical records despite you giving them the information. They will again respond to this by changing the dates of the information required and eventually "close" the claim reporting denied coverage due to inadequate medical records. Multiple phone calls to their customer service confirms that these documents are received and all you can do is call back and wait. Eventually the claim will be closed citing medical records. This cannot be legal.

    I have an older dog that means the world and she sustained an injury to her right ACL and required surgery. Spot requested documentation and I provided everything that they asked for in a timely manner but Spot took forever to approve my claim and get it paid out. They started making up excuses by saying that needed additional records from previous Veterinarians when there weren't any previous records to obtain. Stay away from Spot Pet Insurance...     I’m dissatisfied that when I submit an authentic claim with my veterinary’s letterhead on it, that it takes a month to 6 weeks to receive reimbursement. It doesn’t however, take but minutes to pull the monthly fee of $44.95 from my checking account. Big difference!!! Vets are expensive. That’s why I got the insurance but I hate waiting SO long for the money to come back in. They should be more considerate of the processing time.

    No pet insurance is ever perfect and this one is just ok. The first year was extremely affordable, however when it came time to renew they raised the monthly premium to $25 more. My dog now has a pre-existing condition so I can’t even go to another company because no one will cover the issue. As far as being reimbursed, sometimes it takes a couple days, sometimes it takes a week. Overall, it is pretty similar to Healthy Paws which is crazy more expensive.

The only complaints I have are that it is really hard to get hold of them by phone, hold times are really long. The other complaint is that they are very slow to reimburse. They do reimburse, but it takes them a long time. I have a claim in now for a condition they've paid for before so they don't have to collect anything new from the veterinarians, it should be quite straightforward but it's been two weeks already and it's still processing.
