I got Spot when I adopted an 11 yr old dog that had a history of severe neglect. The neglect my dog, Tito, endured affected every body system and took him almost a year to recover from. Knowing that Tito might have medical issues in the future, due to his history, I went with Spot after I read this on their website (for CA resident), “Pre-existing conditions are not covered by our plans. However, If your pet’s pre-existing condition is curable and has been cured and free from treatment and symptoms for a period of 180 days it is a new occurrence.”

Claim process was very easy, and reimbursement better than previous company. My cat is 16 years old with recurring prescription and shot. This might have been a problem with other companies, but was business as usual for Spot.

We are paying for the 90% reimbursement plan. The last few times our vet turned in the medical procedures done on my dog, Spot denied the claim saying it was a pre-existing condition even after the vet sent in further proof that it was not. These were new medical issues. I would stay as far away as possible from this company. They are horrible!!!

I researched pricing and coverage for my new fur baby and SPOT offered the most options at the best price. Submitting a claim was simple and reimbursement turnaround time was excellent. SPOT also provides discounts to many sites and new pet parent helpful tips. The SPOT website is user friendly. The comfort of knowing that my fur baby has affordable insurance in the event of an accident or just for preventative care is one less thing I need to worry about.

Best way to protect your love Fur Baby, I’m please and happy with their system, and uncomplicated reimburse policy. Reasonably deductible, great Monthly premiums, Spot has made it easy for me to take care of my dog, and much more affordable, and does give me peace of mind. I greatly recommend it.

Excellent experience with Spot Pet Insurance from the initial contact through now. I have filed two claims so far. Both were paid right away without any hassle at all. Their communication is outstanding as well. I would recommend this service.

I cancelled my insurance with Spot Pet Insurance because I was paying more than what it was covering. There were claims they didn’t cover even after one year and then decided to raise the cost due to my dog turned 3 and a half. So I cancelled my account. Will look towards other pet insurance at affordable cost.

Really!!! Spot insurance is a joke. I canceled June 20, 24 and then they charge me for June and then July go up on me and charge me for July, August, and September. I have already paid $771.00 to this insurance and they denied my claim. They owe me $291,19 since they have stolen $ out of my account from canceling it

Well... why are all insurance companies seem to be run by scammers? I took my pet to the vet because she was scratching too much and they gave her some medicines, saying it could be seasonal, or a tick bite, or something else. Spot asked me for her medical history, and then denied the claim because they considered it a "Pre-existing condition" since I had taken her two years ago to the vet for an allergic reaction... Well... that is just ludicrous. If I have a flu today, go to the doctor, and 2 years later go to the doctor for a flu, do I have an EXISTING CONDITION??? Of course not!!! I would be ok with the money I spent going towards my deductible, actually I expected it, but to be denied on such a ridiculous argument??? They SUCK! If she had cancer, OK, I would understand. But for this? Just dishonest.

Claims are easy to process, you collect your receipts & vet notes and upload on the website. I was reimbursed in a few days in accordance to my contract. When I had questions, staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Rates are very competitive for what you get.

If I could give Spot Pet Insurance Zero stars - I would. Beware: They don’t pay for your claims. And they don’t accept most of the vet paperwork submitted. Even when it’s the “soap notes” they require. I’ve only taken my dogs to the best vets around and none of them have this paperwork readily available. The whole claim submission process is very time consuming and doesn’t work.

I can't be any happier with Spot Insurance. I didn't know if I was going to really need the insurance; and I'm so glad I did now. Setting up the account and adding your information was easy. Submitting a claims is very easy and just answering few questions, and attached the receipts and medical records if needed.

I researched a lot of pet insurance options, and Spot seemed to offer the most at a reasonable price! Not only that, but it lets you customize each policy for each pet, and they could be changed at any time and as many times as you feel necessary. It is so easy to file a claim and the turnaround to receive reimbursement is fairly quick. With three dogs and a cat, having Spot insurance has been a lifesaver on my wallet! I would definitely recommend Spot insurance to anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced personalized insurance!

Switched to Spot last year as there was an employer discount from my job and I was able to cover all 4 of my pets for about the same as what I was paying for 2 on my previous insurance. 2 months after switching my dog was diagnosed with Cushings disease and cost me over 3k in 1 year in testing and prescriptions. I submitted all my receipts in the app recently and I was reimbursed about 1900 within about 7 days direct to my bank account. I missed out on about 400 of reimbursement because there is a 270 day cutoff for submitting so be careful to submit your receipts before that deadline. Anyway, no hassles. They reaches out to my vet for medical records and about 3-4 days later I received my reimbursement.

Spot had been a great option for our Goldendoodle. Claims are simple and easy to process simply upload the documents and they review and credit your account. We have really been happy to have Spot for a few unplanned unexpected incidents our dog has had.

After having a very stressful start illness with My Maltese and making her well, it was a pleasure to know that every time I submitted a claim, it was taken care of professionally and within the week and already credited my account. I don’t think you can ask for anything better than that. I have talked with associates, friends and really recommended. They change their pet insurance because of the great results I received.

First time having insurance on my puppy and it has come in handy. I’ve always paid out of pocket with no reimbursement. I have had 2 claims and have been reimbursed the allowed amount in a timely manner.

I paid for top-tier coverage (very low deductible, 90% coverage, preventative plan) and the expeditious reimbursement for my puppy’s first vet visit two days after I started the plan is a welcome sign of how this company operates. While the coverage allowance is lower than my vet prices on almost everything, it has more than paid for itself this first month - and with microchipping and spaying coming in the next few months I’m sure it will pay for itself during this first year. I did not have insurance for my last dog, and she developed several extremely expensive conditions that made my finances troublesome for the second half of her life. The peace of mind this plan offers is worth it even if I wasn’t already seeing costs being covered!

I've been a little burned by pet insurance in the past... They always found a way to weasel out of paying till you just don't see the worth in paying.... (Go pet plan - don't recommend). Spot is different! At first we started off on the wrong foot when they denied the allergy food my vet prescribed calling allergies a pre existing condition.... (My dog had grass allergies prior to my plan) but the food was for potential food allergies. Still whatever, it's just a food. But ever since then EVERY SINGLE THING I have filed a claim for has been paid. My cat Smokey had his lens disconnect and float to the front of his eye... We just had 3 animal ophthalmologist specialty visits, an er visit, and a last minute surgery that cost a whopping $8500. I filed the claims once I got the medical records and I didn't have to fight to get my reimbursement!! I filed online and in 4 days it got approved.

I've submitted 4 claims this year with Spot and have had nothing but a great experience each time! Easy to use App and quick turnaround time. I'm thankful that I have the safety net of Spot Pet Insurance when I need it to care for my Great Dane.

Spot is the best! I was able to get my first puppy insured quickly and without any hassle. I chose the plan best for my pup, and have already received a check back from her first vet appointment! Could not have asked for an easier process. I highly recommend Spot Insurance to anyone who is asking!

It's our first puppy, and I have compared several insurance companies and their policies and decided to try Spot Pet Insurance (because they cover Vet office visit while most others don't). I did not expect to use the insurance at all, but little did I know about puppies. Not too long after activating the policy, our puppy swallowed a soft dinosaur toy and ended up in emergency care. Then few weeks later he ate marijuana someone threw on the street; another Vet visit. Both times, we submitted the claims and were reimbursed quickly. No questions asked. The claim process was like a breeze. We were so glad we got insurance from Spot.

We had to take my golden do event twice in 2 days. For being sick. They had to run many tests and bill was pretty extensive. This was my first time using Spot Pet And I am totally pleased in the speed that they handled my claim. I would recommend them to anyone.

I can’t say enough good things about SPOT Insurance. Both of our claims were entirely unexpected and SPOT came through without hesitation to help us with the expenses. I will never be without SPOT coverage. You just never know what is around the corner with our furry family members but you can be sure that veterinary urgent care will be expensive. Services provided were great and then they raise my rate an additional $150.00. This was for my 2 pets. They take forever to send your check. It seems like an unreasonable price increase. I decide to switch to Figo thru Costco.com.

This was the first pet I decided to get insurance for. I did some extensive research before deciding and let me tell you I wasn't disappointed with choosing Spot. I had my very first claim for my Maine Coon kitten to have I neuter and between the day I submitted the claim to payment I was super impressed at how quickly they got it done!!! I highly recommend Spot. I do have my kitten extra covered with not only preventative but I added the accident and illness as well and paying the extra and I feel like down the road it will be helpful and worth it if needed.

Recently joined my two dogs to Spot. One dog is a year old and the other eight years old. My eight-year-old Australian Shepherd recently suffered a spinal stroke. Excellent customer service. Simple, easy to navigate App. Top notch. I’m glad I switched companies.

They try their best not to cover your medical charges. My dog had a bacterial infection of the eye previously which was treated with antibiotics (did not have Spot insurance at the time). A few weeks later my dog developed allergies which manifested as eye redness but Spot did not want to cover the medical charges because they considered it a continuation of his bacterial infection several weeks prior. They proceeded to explain that they would not cover any eye inflammatory conditions for the next SIX months due to their policy. Waste of money - recommend going with other insurance companies.

Absolute scam. They changed the dates of my coverage so they weren't on the hook for the first appointment that I had during my Spot 'coverage', then used extensive creative license to mark the second and third appointments as 'pre-existing conditions.' It was a skin rash. Dealing with their customer service was wild, they were the most condescending people I have come across while owning a dog. This insurance is an absolute joke. Go with anyone else, especially if you have a pitbull.

Crooks! They charged the highest premiums to start with. When my cat got sick, they denied the estimate given by my vet’s office citing pre-existing conditions which wasn’t true!! Service calls go to Philippines, rude staff!

For a couple years with a few claims Spot was working for me. But when I need to pay 5k for illness surgery approved by veterinarian I can get no information on whether it is going to be covered. Sad!

Spot Pet Insurance denied my claim when my dog tore his ligament. They indicated it was a pre-existing condition because of degenerative disease. In a sense, they denied the claim with what every dog goes through when they get older. They should be ashamed of themselves taking my premium each month knowing they will deny every claim due to a pre-existing condition that occurs in every dog. Don't use them. They will take your money with no intention of paying a claim.

In my short time and personal experience paying this underhanded company, I have found them IMO to be completely dishonest, unethical (lying to deny obviously legit claims) and slightly paranoid and obsessive. In addition to refusing to pay a claim that was 100% legit, once I won a BBB case, they refused to communicate with me to work out the details. To me, it appears they only tried to close the case so it was closed and then had no intention of working anything out with me. I believe they also might be cyber stalking me as I have had a review repeatedly removed by them on a review site that was a legit review and it also appears they create aliases to create false positive reviews to increase their scores.

I researched the top 10 pet insurances. I had always been on the fence about getting insurance. After doing some reading up on it, I selected Spot Pet Insurance for our 4 fur babies. I have had to submit claims for one of our pets and Spot has been just wonderful to work with. Great customer service and no waiting for reimbursements and no hassles. I am very pleased and would highly recommend to anyone looking for pet insurance coverage.

The professionalism with all the representatives for this insurance is unbelievable. I was having issues with the pound, where I adopted one of my doggies, but had to submit a claim to fix some issues that arose from the surgery that was done by the shelter. They were super proactive with me and the communication was amazing. The reimbursement was super fast. Totally worth it

I love the ease of the app. It is a cinch to submit claims. I appreciate that I was paid promptly and that Spot followed up to make sure that my dog was on the mend. I feel like Spot pet insurance really cares about my pets and their well-being.

Spot pet insurance owes us close to a thousand dollars $$$. They claimed to have made the refund weeks ago in their systems (Aug 14 and 18) however it’s now September and we haven’t received a penny. Really frustrating! Our dog was attacked by a neighbor's dog. That was traumatic enough.

I had issues with several pet insurance companies before I found SPOT because I have an English Bulldog with quite a lot of health issues. I had given up on pet insurance, believing it to be a scam to get your money only for them to deny every claim. SPOT has completely changed my opinion of pet insurance and has helped me provide the best possible care for my pup. Customer service is amazing, they are super responsive, and they review claims and reimburse very quickly! I am so insanely happy with my experience with SPOT pet insurance and have recommended it to everyone who has asked me which company to go with. I now have it for my new puppy too! I won’t be without SPOT and neither should you! I absolutely highly recommend them!!
