Bad customer service, only a chatbot and they will not escalate to a supervisor when you request. Sony steals people money with their policies and when you ask them to refund something on day 0, they refuse. This is illegal and shady, and no other business in America is still doing this because of the huge lawsuits involved when holding money that was improperly obtained or held.

Completely useless customer support. Managed to get all of my card numbers all of which have been closed as it’s an old bank with Monzo. Managed to contact an old bank to provide information for PlayStation which all ended up being useless. Monzo had been a massive help in this case but yet again as PlayStation are renowned for useless. My brother managed to get back into his old account but I’ve wasted hundreds of pounds and time over the years for absolutely nothing. They don’t care in the slightest. I don’t get how a passport or any form of ID can’t help in the slightest. Been a lifelong PlayStation fan but this has seriously put me in a bad mood. Doesn’t let me give 0 stars so they are lucky they get 1.

I am starting a BOYCOTT SONY Movement. They have the Worst Customer Service ever. Sony makes Comcast look like the most competent customer service in history. My wife's account has been hacked for the 3rd time this year. I CHALLENGE anyone to ATTEMPT to CALL SONY CUSTOMER SERVICE and GET a PERSON. They ask what the phone call is for, then say, "Go online to fix". Which of course, you can't. So you end up trying all the options until you get one that has a person answer after a long time on hold.
Then they connect you to the correct department, after another long wait. They give you a rude person, maybe with the name Sophia. They make you spell everything out slowly. Then she tells me that we're a SECURITY RISK, mumbles a number off, I say, "Wait I need to write it down." She quickly says it again, I ask her to wait so I can get it and ask her to speak slowly so I can understand what she is saying and she just hangs up on me! Sony made 31.1 BILLION in 2025 ON PLAYSTATION ALONE, so why CAN'T THEY AFFORD to SUPPORT their CUSTOMERS!

I’m not just writing this review because I’ve been an Xbox user for 15 years. I recently switched the PlayStation, enjoyed it for a month or two and then it started acting, weird color, wise screen size wise I called in to try and see what was happening. I have to ship my PlayStation five for repairs after just a couple months of use. Their customer service reps over the phone are completely unknowing of their job. They are unwilling to give any kind of reimbursement or refund for PlayStation network or the device itself. I never had any of these issues with Xbox and 15 years. I got a PlayStation to play online with my brothers since we all live in different states, and they swear by it. I knew they were the runts of the litter. I do not recommend a PlayStation for anybody who enjoys gaming. I don’t know how many times PlayStation has interrupted my game and shut off. Now I’m out over $1000 in games console and controllers. Sony get your shit together!

Sony PS customer service has become an absolute joke. They have turned everything over to ai chat boxes that are unable to anything at all. Apparently all employees have been laid off because no matter what time or how often I try to connect I am told that I am outside of business hours despite their listed hours. 3 day and counting. Sony logged an account out for a new user agreement and now we are completely locked out of the account and unable to receive the requested reset emails. I have tried chat box and phone for days and nothing at all. There is absolutely no help to be had. We have basically lost an account with thousands worth of content with no way to recover or be reimbursed. Sony Playstation has become one of the worst companies for customer service choosing to hide behind Ai loops.. If I could give less than 1 star I would.

So you're rolling out the age verification. None of the options work, keeps saying ''⚠ The connection to the server timed out.'' in red letters. I contact your customer service, they ask me every single question there is, suggesting my internet or devices are faulty. I have smart devices everywhere up and down the house, all running perfectly with zero issues, but you suggest it's a me problem. I get your email saying ''it's now fixed'' - so you admit it's not a me problem. I give it another dozen tries on every other age verification option: ''⚠The connection to the server timed out.'' In red letters. I contact you again, bot makes me run in circles for 1 hour, asking me to click on irrelevant matters to explain the problem. I keep copy-pasting PlayStation Support Case **'' about 200 times before it decides to put a human on the chat.
Customer service agent then says it's a me problem and my internet problem. PlayStation Support Case ** now telling me to go use someone else's internet to plug my 4 playstations, my 3 laptops and my 2 phones on that, to double-check that it's indeed a you problem. Trying another 5 times right now: "⚠ The connection to the server timed out.'' In red letters. Why am I paying you to block me, and if he keep getting blocked you're going to block my access to communications, as part of a service I am paying for in the first place? ''Play Has No Limits'' I found yours.

No help from customer service whatsoever about warning email which I received completely wrongful. Seems like chatting with a bot, not human, as you'll receive the same chat and questions multiple times by "different agents."

My ps5 wouldn't play ps5 games, only ps4. I called a bunch of times with no help. My final call the representative listened and instead of ignoring me, saw my issue and extended the help I needed. I just received my ps5 back yesterday fixed and I can finally play my games. I wanted to thank her for helping me and going beyond to keep a PlayStation customer.

Horrible customer service, you're telling me they're a multi million dollar company and can't stay open 24 hours to help their buyers. I'm selling my Ps5. By far the worst dog shit company there is.

Probably the worst company support ever. Wouldn't even try to recover my account that has games worth a lot money, when I confronted them they said to create a new account and "have a good day." Also response times made me want to throw my phone at the screen. Never buy again. Would not recommend.

I recently purchased Crimson Desert on PS5, and my experience has been extremely disappointing. The game was not advertised as having the level of performance issues and bugs that I encountered. From the moment I started playing, the controls felt clunky and unresponsive, and the movement mechanics were frustrating and inconsistent. On top of that, there are frequent bugs and noticeable performance problems that make the game feel unfinished and far below expectations.
For a game priced at around $100, this is unacceptable. I feel misled, as the product does not match the quality that was promoted. It honestly feels like I paid full price for something that is incomplete and poorly optimized. What made the situation even worse was my experience with PlayStation support. I initially contacted them to request a refund, and at one point it seemed like it would be processed. However, after that, support agents began avoiding my questions about the refund. During calls, they would talk over me instead of addressing my concerns, and in some cases, the calls were disconnected without any resolution.
I was repeatedly told to call back during operating hours, but even when I did so throughout the day, I kept getting the same responses without any real help. It felt like they were deliberately avoiding resolving the issue, leaving me stuck with a game I do not want and cannot properly enjoy. Overall, this has been a very frustrating experience, both with the game itself and with the way customer support handled the situation. I would strongly advise others to be cautious before purchasing.

PlayStation (Sony) told me that they could not help me with a fraudulent charge when I got hacked. Told me to go to my credit card company to get a reimbursement. Once I got reimbursed, PlayStation blocked my account and all my paid content due to account Chargeback and now want me to pay them back. This is why they want to take away physical CD games. They can lock you out of the content you paid for and refuse to help you. I will never buy playstation again. Dishonest, fraudulent, horrible company. I hope someone who cares enough and has a big enough following reads enough of these to get people to wake up and Boycott Sony.

Hi PlayStation. You are my favorite people but listen. If you want people to buy the PlayStation Six you need to add way better air vents 'cause everybody that I have talked to hated the air vents. They say that after a week it just picks up so much dust and another thing. Please make the button to turn on the PlayStation more clicky and not just the regular super loud beep noise when you turn it on. Maybe make the sound just a calm little bloop or make it customizable in the settings. That would make everybody happy. And please make it if you can take CDs 'cause I have them, but my PS3 is not accepting them for some reason so please add that. I have more to say but I don’t want to yet because I might run out of room but please reach back to me.

Bad every way possible. Got hacked. All my stuff stolen. Didn’t do nothing about it. Never trust or get PlayStation again. They just steal your money and leave you hanging. I wish I never bought any systems from them esp the 5. If y’all can give me a refund on PS5 and games and all my PS4 games I lost that will be amazing and I’ll never get a PS again.

Updated on 04/13/2026: I changed my gamer's name on my PS5. They made me pay for it four times. Then you didn't credit me back any of the money and my name is still the same. Then if they give me some bull crap thing that now you got to talk to somebody else it's just having a system sucks really bad. I never had this problem when I had the Xbox 360 but the PS games sucks. I do not recommend it to anyone. They ask too much money to do anything. They do too many downloads. You downloading everything every time you go get on it. You have to download something. It just it's horrible.
Original Review: PlayStation don't you deserve to get a one-star that made you pay three times for one thing. Won't refund it. Then when you get your bank to take the money back they suspend your account and want you to pay more to get your account back. I never had this problem with Xbox. The gaming system is completely crazy.

If you enjoy long wait times and getting hung up on then you would enjoy calling PlayStation Sony support. Absolutely ridiculous that I cannot even speak to someone who wants to help customers. I did not raise my voice once, was super calm and sweet and the three times I called after hold times of 20+ minutes I was hung up on as soon as I told them the issue. I will NEVER buy another PlayStation again. EVER.

Dealing with Sony is truly a horrible experience. Has been forever. My recent experience occurred yesterday as I was scanning my bank account. My subscription expired Dec. 25' and I am not on auto renew. Sony charged me for Jan and Feb 26. You can only chat with them online. No way to submit supporting documentation of the charges. They want the emails confirming purchases (ya didn't send one, imagine that). I return. I have to declare fraud with my bank, cancel my card, and am never able to purchase through Sony with my bank again. Makes me wonder how many people they do this to over and over again. Nice stream of revenue for them I imagine.

Playstation need to step your game system up. Need to make a crazy features with at least a 2TB and led display on the console and controllers. We will pay any price for a badass high technology design and storage. 8k graphic design and realistic games.

I will no longer be purchasing the monthly extra PlayStation Plus. What you are doing is stealing, and a scam. You put an title in the extra catalog for several months. My son bought many packs for said title. Now he can't play said title and what suppose to eat the money!? I don't think so. The only games that remain in the "extra" catalog are old outdated, under performing games. If you want to pay monthly fees for old out dated games that's on you. This is why Japan kicking USA ass undisclosed funds. What scanners and crooks you have turned out to be.

I downloaded a game and paid. It said I needed a patch, downloaded and paid again. The game won't play without a subscription apparently. After paying 2x, they won't refund the $60 I 'downloaded'. Now I have $60 worth of meaningless code.

If I could give them a 0 I would. Worst company out there. Told me I couldn’t get my money back after a game was downloaded on my account without my permission and then accused me of not paying attention to who was using my console. Then proceeded to say I couldn’t get a refunded even though the transaction was unlawful. Then because my bank deemed the transaction as fraudulent I got my money back and PS put my account on suspension. Now in order for me to get my account back I have to buy a voucher which is more money than what is owed!! They are greedy and scamming people!!

They will not give you a refund no matter what. The game literally has more bugs than section 8 housing and they will look you dead in the eye and ask for you to delete your PlayStation software and redownload the entire thing. Juice.

We purchased a second PS5 so that two people in our household could play ARC Raiders at the same time. We already pay for PlayStation Plus; however, when attempting to download the game on the second console, it would not load unless we subscribed to an additional PS Plus account. While we understand this may be policy, it was not clearly communicated or expected. As a result, we returned the PS5 and instead purchased the game on Steam, where no additional subscription is required.
We then requested a refund of $33 for the PlayStation version of the game. This refund was denied, despite the fact that the game was never fully downloaded or played, solely because it required purchasing a second PS Plus subscription—which we chose not to do. Sony is sacrificing customer loyalty and long-term revenue over $33 by rigidly quoting its own policies instead of exercising reasonable judgment. Enjoy the $33, because this decision has cost you thousands of dollars in future purchases and goodwill. I don’t say this lightly—I know exactly what I’m talking about.

I bought a game since a sale just started so I figured it wasn't going to go on sale, so I bought it full price. Went on a couple hours later after all other games listed for no reason. I contacted support and just asked for the difference in credit. They sent me the return policy (that didn't cover this issue) and said they can't issue a refund. I said I wasn't asking for a refund. They said "I'm afraid I'll have to close this question." That's like hanging up the phone on me. I've given them a lot of money, so I had some choice words for them.

My PlayStation account was suspended over a Crunchyroll charge I did not want, did not authorize, and did not use. Someone else used my console and started a free trial under a different email. As soon as I saw the charge, I canceled immediately and followed Sony’s refund instructions. The service was never used. Despite this, Sony suspended my account and is now demanding repayment to restore access. They refuse to accept the exact amount and instead force me to buy a $25 gift card—more than the original charge—to unlock my account. They are effectively holding years of purchased games, trophies, and account history hostage unless I overpay for something I canceled right away. This is an extremely unfair and frustrating experience. Be very cautious—there is no reasonable dispute or refund process.

I want people to know that this is a very high price to pay for the worst service I've ever seen before. I've been around too. They have the computer to take away your wins or scores. I've watched it a thousand times. I don't have a reason to lie to you. Just wanted you to know what you're getting into before you spend thousands of dollars on Sony Playstation and the service is rude and will not help you in the manner that they should, the price, they should come to your house and cook your dinner and paint the whole house inside and out. You think I'm kidding? Go ahead and make your mistake.

So I contacted Sony PlayStation because my PlayStation, which I have had a little over a year and was told that according to the PlayStation app, they will not repair or service my product so when I called, they stated that that’s not true about according to their app, that’s what it says. Then on top of that, they stated they can service it, but you have to pay shipping both ways on top of cost of repair so here’s is where the problem lies.
PlayStation apparently is having an issue with their units where they will turn off and all you will get is a blue light blinking on your PlayStation and that is as far as it goes and according to them, that is a rare thing and they will not cover anything when it comes to that because they only cover a 12 month but according to what I was reading, they can’t cover up to two years, but they will not cover this when I have had this unit for a little over a year so if you run into this issue, good luck trying to get Sony PlayStation to fix your product because they will charge you to ship it to them and charge you to ship it back as well as fixing your product so you could be paying the cost of a brand new PlayStation, if not more.
The representative I spoke to was not polite about it or concerning especially when they state that is a rare occasion. Well, if it is a rare occasion then wouldn’t you think OK something may not actually be right with that unit according to them because it is a little over a year old that’s considered a very old unit to me. If it’s something that is just over a year old that is still pretty dang new I would understand if it is three or four years old but just a little over a year old system and they stated sorry we’re not covering anything. You have to pay everything to get it fixed even though it’s something that happens very rare on a system that’s not supposed to have happen.

PlayStation was not like how it was before. There's so many rules and regulations. A lot of hackers and scammers that the company needs to address. I've recently left playstation and went to Nintendo's Switch. The best thing I could have ever done. Since I've been with playstation and had a ps5 my account has been blocked 6 times and now. It's permanently suspended for something that I did not do. I can't control what people do when I'm not around had to make another account. And that got blocked and suspended PlayStation caused too d*** much for bs like this to be going on. I will never again get any type of PlayStation product. Spent over six hundred dollars in games. It's ridiculous to be permanently suspended.

I can see why the majority of the reviews are 1 star. Their customer service is appalling and they refuse to help in genuine cases where real customers need help. Such a shame that a corporation making that much money can't handle their customers and outsource them agents who can't and refuse to help. We make 3 purchases. One was on accident. They are refusing to refund that purchase. For what reason? To make an additional 6 bucks? Very disappointed in this company.

I recently bought nba2k26 and bought all the bells and whistles that comes with it. The game was 99.99 and the Vc was 99.99. Fast forward 2 weeks and I look at my bank account and it looks like they charged me twice for the game so I call my bank to report that maybe I’ve been charged twice. It looks like a duplicate. A week later my account gets suspended and I see the mistake which is my fault so I pay for the charge back and my account is still suspended even though I followed their policy and I’ve already been put to the side and hung up on when I say it’s gotta be a faster way to recover an account, it’s already been 2 business days and it’s Friday and I’m in danger of not being able to play the games I paid for till next Tuesday.

Call twice to speak to customer service. Both times they hanged up this happened after business hours. So maybe that's why they do it because all the bosses are not there. They should be fired barely could understand English, they like to talk over you. And did not resolve my situation very unprofessional. My taking is mostly due because it's after hours. I called around 9pm so they figured they could just hang up on customers because nobody is watching. They should monitor and record these calls after hours. So the big managers and bosses know what's going on at the job when they are home. I'm sure if they find out a lot of stuff, it will flip the head

The assistant that's supposed to help won't give you answers to the right question, and require you to pay 50$ upfront just for talking to them, it's straight robbery, same as PlayStation for having the ability to lock you out of your games you paid for and have a say when you defend yourself from cyber attacks by banning you instead of the aggressor. If I knew how to sue both companies properly I definitely would sue PlayStation.

I’ve been a loyal PlayStation user since 2013, and I’ve never once asked for a refund until now. I recently purchased Flight Sim 25, launched it for less than a minute, and immediately realized it wasn’t what I expected. Despite explaining the situation politely and providing all the details, I was denied a refund simply because the game had been “downloaded.” It’s ridiculous that a company I’ve supported for over a decade can’t make a single exception for a loyal customer who made a one-time mistake. Other platforms, like Steam or Xbox, at least offer a short playtime refund option — PlayStation should too. This experience honestly makes me reconsider continuing with PlayStation in the future. Customer loyalty should mean something, but right now, it feels like Sony doesn’t care at all.

I think Sony’s PlayStation Plus auto renew policy is absolutely unacceptable. They automatically charge your credit card for another full year without clearly asking for your consent, and they make it confusing to find or cancel the renewal option. I believe this kind of practice should be illegal and it feels completely unethical and borderline unconstitutional.
I contacted Sony about a refund and they refused to do anything. I even went through the Better Business Bureau just to get a response, and Sony still would not make it right. If this happens to you, file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. If that does not work, contact your State Attorney General’s office. Do not let them keep charging people like this without clear permission. Consumers deserve transparency and fairness.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I guess I’ll accept giving 1 since the 9th rep finally was able to fix the issue that they caused in less than 5 minutes compared to the other reps who refused to assist. PlayStation’s customer service was honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had. It’s nearly impossible to reach someone who can actually help, and when you finally do, they’re often rude, unhelpful, and show zero understanding of your issue. The lack of availability, empathy, and accountability is shocking for such a big company. After seeing countless other people share the same frustrations, it’s clear this isn’t just bad luck, it’s a pattern. PlayStation seriously needs to fix how they treat their customers.

Getting suspended while the real toxicity player gets away with their bad behavior is beyond ridiculous. This isn’t the first time I’ve been messaged by someone saying awful things, I defended myself and then the next day I am banned? Make that make sense. This company is a joke and has no real resources to communicate with agents. I am selling my PS5 and will no longer give them my money.

Purchased a gift card for them through Amazon! They sent me a code that says it’s already been redeemed! AMAZON said they can’t do any refunds because it was a nonrefundable transaction! I was told that they would reach out to Sony and Sony would reach out to me! I was never contacted by Sony! So I reached out to them! They basically told me to go ** myself because there’s nothing they can do! So my son is out of $100 gift card! When I asked to speak to a manager, she refused to help me! So I asked to speak with her manager and she told me that won’t happen! She told me that she is the highest! When I told her, I know she has somebody higher than her she proceeded to hang up on me!
