I have been with Rhapsody / Napster for over a decade. Each version only gets worse. I've come to call it Buzz Kill Radio. Tracks, Albums disappear weekly. The search engine is the worst I have ever seen since 1996. It never fails to disappoint. I am saying good riddance.

I've been a Rhapsody/Napster customer for over a decade. Simply put, the service continues to degrade and the Napster posse continue to find creative ways to cheat customers. Music quality is suspect and hasn't kept up with the competition. Subscriptions change/get canceled and customers continue to get billed at increased/inflated rates with no notice, no service credit, no customer service. If you do get a customer service representative on the phone, they can't/won't do anything to help. In fairness, they will apologize on behalf of Napster.

July 11th 2023, I guess there was an outage mid afternoon in my area of RI. I thought all was ok, guess not. Songs are missing, songs showing on PC APP, but not on Phone App. I can not figure what is going on. Every time there is an outage, the issues get worse. Wasting a bunch of time trying to get songs back, downloading, uninstalling and then reinstalling the App. It's become so idiotic now. I will start making my lists on Spotify and dump this Napster thing after so many years. I don't get why Napster seems to refuse to deal with the issues.

The company literally can't keep its services running for more than 24 hours straight. The company has no viable means of being contacted. When the service is down, one cannot access their account to make any changes...(like cancelling the service) So many better "working" options out there. Not worth the headache.

Napster has stopped with Distrokid. I wasn't aware at first. I emailed them and kept getting same response over and over to talk to distrokid. Distrokid told me they don't do Napster anymore. I asked why and no response to that, but anyways, Napster kept blaming distrokid for not submitting my music when it was submitted and resubmitted. I asked distrokid to call or email Napster in which they didn't. So I contacted Napster and they wouldn't do it either.

I finally asked to talk with the manager of Napster because I was confused and wanted my song on there. Manager said same thing as every other email. Eventually Napster said they would finally call me and they did even though they were 6 minutes late lol. I talked to Napster on the call and they repeated same thing to email again. They finally said is there anything else you need. At that point for dealing over a month with it, I decided to not do business with them and their lack of communication. I couldn't even understand their language or accent on the call. Distrokid was very nice to me about this situation and even the manager stepped in to help out

I started using Rhapsody now Napster over 15 years ago because it came with an mp3 player I bought, and have never stopped using it. This was way before Spotify or Pandora took off and in my opinion, has always had a better platform for finding music, creating playlists and saving music. I have never had any problems with payments or getting in touch with customer service, which back in the day of mp3 players was occasionally necessary. Now all you need is your phone for streaming or offline listening and I have no issues. Audio quality is great. If you are looking for hi-fi audio quality, audio streaming has never been the best option anyhow.

I honestly don't know why this streaming service never got more popular. I have used Pandora, Youtube Music, Deezer, and Spotify and still find Napster to be the best for selection, ease of use, creating playlists and offline listening. The only downfall would be radio...For whatever reason Pandora has a better station or radio platform but if you love music like I do, you usually prefer to choose your own listening experience and not rely on a service to select songs for you... I still recommend Napster over its competitors and just wanted to leave a positive review since most reviews are created only after a consumer has something to complain about. Thank you Napster for almost 2 decades of music selection and great service!

They have agreed to discontinue my account and all information, but NO REFUND. Pretty good scam just think 1000 BOGUS CHARGES a month with no recourse.

Fraudulent company. They advertise, along with iTunes, that you can download their songs for burning and ripping, but they only let you download songs into a private section in their app, and argue that it's legitimate and the same thing as a download because you can download it after clicking a download button and can play them out of streaming mode, and they advertise that it's useful and the same thing as a download because you can play the "downloads" when there's an internet outage or downtime out of streaming mode.

However you cannot move your downloads into your computer's folders, or other parts of your computer, and you cannot exercise possession of the items, even though you paid for them. Company turned into a fraudulent advertisement front teaching bot for third party nationals and their inconvenience infliction cryptids. On the upside, it's prime and ripe for lawsuits and incarcerations against the corporate rogues.

Upon Rhapsody being acquired by Napster I had approximately $100 in music purchase credits. Both Rhapsody and Napster showed the credits but because they no longer offered song or music purchases there was no return or compensation for the funds in my account. On two occasions their associates confirmed the credits and were going to apply them to my monthly user access until the credits were used. This never happened and they have now refused to provide communications or assistance in providing access to my Samsung TV when trying to attempt activation that recognizes my account and provides an activation code to enter that returns with an incorrect activation code.

It appears that this company is now owned and operated by a foreign subsidy that appears to be milking the Napster accounts without providing services being paid for nor providing client follow up. It would be my recommendation that each of us contact our State Attorney Generals and request that a class action suit be filed on the behalf of all subscribers both past and present.

We have seen nearly all Online or Internet services companies posting the changes that have followed the Facebook, Google, etc. failures in meeting the end user privacy legislation changes. This is not so with Napster and this alone should be recognized as a violation with Napster's operations within the United States. We can no longer let foreign or domestic non-storefront businesses continue to fleece Americans due to both intentional complexities as well as their intended avoidance with isolation from communications in operating any business license.

My husband and I were with Rhapsody for a long time until Napster took over. Money begin missing from them overcharging us. Interrupting services with claims they didn’t receive payment even though I had proof they did. I ended up canceling my he Family Plan and switching to a better more honest music app. My husband wanted to stay with Napster because of all the music he had. It was going fine the first few months then he downgraded to a smaller plan. They took the money out our account but insisted the card didn’t go through. I advised them our bank had verified they were not holding funds. That Napster had indeed taken the funds.

I spoke to a supervisor at Napster and told him I’d send him my statement. He refused it and said I did not pay and insisted they didn’t receive any funds from me. He again refused to see my statement for proof. This company is full of ** and should be shut down. It’s run by a bunch of foreigners with bad attitudes that can only call you. You can not call any of the numbers back. Save your money. Don’t pay for Napster when there are plenty of other apps that are run by honest people.

I have been a longtime subscriber of Rhapsody. Did not like the re-branding to Napster but stuck it out anyway. Back in April, I launched my app and got a prompt to update my account asap. Doing so, I accidentally created a new subscription! I already had a subscription and did not need another. I immediately contacted Napster/Rhapsody through their help channel telling them I made this mistake and that I would be contacting my bank. BTW the site is automated and you can't speak to anyone. Right away I canceled my subscription and contacted my credit card company. Just found out from my bank, that Napster will not refund me the money and they want proof of my error, just for an accidental subscription! If you click on the help link in their email, it opens to a blank page! There are better music streaming services available. Time for me to go exploring!

Once I get my MP3 music list going, it's great. Why tie up a cell phone when MP3 players are available (unless you're one of those pathetic texting/Facebook addicts)? Handy at the gym, too... Just attach it to my key lanyard. My main gripe with Napster (formerly Rhapsody) is that it's not intuitive for the aging brain. So I occasionally call the CHAT line, which usually is answered by someone who seems to be devoting his/her attention to making Hollandaise sauce rather than thinking about my issue.

Sample: "How do I open my player in Napster without triggering synchronization?" Reply from Napster person: "I'm sorry. You need to synchronize your MP3 player for 30 days once or else the license of tracks will expire." Huh? She's not sorry (these services link "I'm sorry" to the S key); she's dizzy. Or was she trying not to burn the Hollandaise?

Rhapsody no longer functions as it always has. The online streaming part of Rhapsody has always been FREE in the past with some albums restricted to being only for paid software users to buy the albums. Now that it is Napster, the online streaming service is no longer free and for users of the latest version of Windows, using the software to download music does NOT WORK AT ALL! If one checks for help, Napster says to go back to a previous (read: insecure) version of Windows.

Rhapsody 4 and earlier versions were my choice for downloading music to my mp3 player. I have been with them for at least 7 years and was never dissatisfied. Then came version 6 and the end of version 4. It's been nothing but a nightmare since the conversion. Bad GUI, horrible customer service, irrelevant or incomplete FAQs, fewer players (maybe one or two now) that will sync with the service, exasperating searches, download a symphony or other multi-part form of music and it will appear on your player in random order, not in sequence as needed and customer service can't explain why or how to fix the problem, any of the problems I've had. So as much as I hate to say it, I can better spend my monthly subscription fee at iTunes. I just wish they hadn't discontinued version 4 and let us use it if we wanted. But they didn't. So it's adios, amigo.

I signed up for Rhapsody's Premiere service and after a few months, decided to unsubscribe. Their website is conveniently constructed to not allow you to unsubscribe. Once you sign up, they've got you - and your money - forever. They try to throw you off their trail by telling you to unsubscribe through your phone carrier. No, I signed up directly from Rhapsody - it has nothing to do with my phone carrier. After several unsuccessful attempts to unsubscribe through their website and a bad email response from their customer service department, I went to the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully they can get a response from them. I sure haven't been able to. DO NOT do business with this company.

Whenever me or another person simultaneously attempt to listen to DOWNLOADED music, I get an error message saying "This account is in use at another location. This session will now end". I called Rhapsody, and they upgraded me to the "FAMILY" plan, which I believe was supposed to be 5+ devices, no ending of sessions. There are still only THREE users on my account and I STILL get my sessions ENDED because 2 or more of us are listening to (DOWNLOADED) music at the same time from different devices. RIPOFF!

I have been a Rhapsody customer for years. With two other users in the house the monthly cost was reasonable to download and listen to all the music we wanted to hear. On our phones (iphone and Samsung) there are no problems. I am very annoyed, however that I cannot take the music I have download on my devices and put it on another device or storage unit like a cd.

Indeed, the platform is a little outdate but for those of us with teenagers driving non-Bluetooth equipped vehicles and/or with third or fourth generation smart phones (i.e. the middle class) it is so frustrating that we cannot take our music and make a cd for our children to drive around town. The whole world is not bluetooth equipped with the proper smartphone technology yet we pay for the subscription that should allow us the freedom to listen to the music we purchase in all the ways we prefer. This is crap. Rhapsody? You are crap for making this option obsolete. Shame on you for turning your back on the next generation of potential consumers. I know my kids are done with you. They are fondly known as generation Z. Ugh.

I joined Rhapsody to enjoy ORIGINAL 50s and 60s songs. A poor choice; most songs were re-recordings. It was when I tried to quit Rhapsody that the nightmare began. Rhapsody had charged my credit card $9.99 for 1 month of service, and I used their website to cancel my subscription. After moving around their 1980s website, "My Account Information" said I had no billing history. That month I was again charged $9.99 on my credit card. I called Rhapsody, but the only information available (from a computer voice) was directions back to their website. The website is worthless, and there seems to be no way of getting hold of a real live consumer services person. The only way I could solve this problem was to call my credit card service, and put a BLOCK on any and all charges from Rhapsody. Rhapsody's website says if you fail to pay, your membership is cancelled. My advice is to STAY AWAY FROM RHAPSODY!

The last several "upgrades" of the Rhapsody player have steadily continued to make it more difficult to enjoy the artists and playlists that have become a part of my life since I began using Rhapsody back in the "Real" days. It takes a ridiculous amount of effort to try find, then enjoy new or favorite artists. The loss of the equalizer is completely nonsensical and the latest version of the player may have pushed me over the edge. I have stubbornly refused to drink the Apple and iTunes Kool-Aid because of cost and what I used to consider a superior product, but Rhapsody's fallen so far that it's no longer even equivalent.
