This is the second time I used JustAnswer for my dogs. The first time was to diagnose Pigmentary Keratitis in my husky's eye. The travelling vet (we live in a remote location) didn't know what it was but the vet on JustAnswer correctly diagnosed it after I described what it looked like. She sent me photos to confirm. We ordered a homeopathic remedy based on her advice and the brown spot on her eye is shrinking.
This time I asked for advice for my Corgi who had lot of pain in her stomach. After a lot of questions to rule out serious things like an obstruction or piercing of the intestine, the vet gave me advice to put her on a fast for 24 hours and then start her on a rice diet. I'm happy to say Cinder recovered wonderfully. She's my "baby" and I was so worried so her recovery was such a relief. A few days later the same problem occurred and we now believe her usual high quality, dehydrated, raw dog food has been changed since the company was bought out, and she can't tolerate that food any longer.
I put her on a fast again like the vet suggested and kept her on brown rice and lentils (a complete protein when combined) for a few days, and have been gradually adding vegetables, chicken and a multi vitamin. I'll have to continue to give her homemade food or find a different brand for her now. We live in remote area, so I truly appreciate being able to get sound advice for my "fur kids" that I can rely on.

This is only the second review that I have written because it was so well deserved. The short story is that an air handler coil in our Trane system failed and I confirmed with Trane that replacing the custom coil would cost $3000. My HVAC contractor was of no help because he was interested in either selling a custom coil or a new air handler for $3700. I tried to get information from my HVAC service company regarding a used air handler system and received NO help at all. Not even a response to my inquiry. "Billy" at JustAnswer.com became my HVAC tutor. He was always there for me and his information was always accurate. Ultimately, I found the perfect used air handler for a total of $400 (including shipping charges) and 10 years younger than the unit that failed. I'd say that is a WIN and money well spend on JustAnswer.com!

I have NO issue with his advice or the responses he provided, at all! However, in the end, because of the nature of the problem (getting an old rev counter to work with a new alternator) I was unable to solve the problem. So great expert, good service, but not any guarantee of a usable answer - which still cost me either way.

The answer I was given was that they were scam artists. I said that my computer was running slow and a tech looked at my computer and told me that adding more memory would probably fix it. I said that I would live with it and signed off. That was $35. Another person contacted me, unsolicited, and said that he could take control of my computer and fix it. I declined! I'm sorry for the confusion about the good faith deposit. An initial $5 deposit is required at the time the question is posted and the balance of the question price is collected once an Expert responds to the question.
This information regarding the deposit is displayed on the page where the customer is prompted to submit their payment details and questions are posted only when the customer acknowledges and accepts the payment terms.
An Expert responded to your question which is why you received a charge for the balance due, however, the Expert isn't paid unless you’re satisfied with the help received and rate the service accordingly.

I feel I have been ripped off by Just Answer. I found the website through a websearch for "online Neurologist". On the webpage link everything look professional. There were section under the question box, which provided details of several neurologists with good credentials. I proceeded with my question summary of my health problems and received a two sentence lazy answer which was vague, unhelpful and incorrect. Bearing in mind that the doctor was portrayed in emails and in several places on their website as being a neurologist, I proceeded to find out his credentials and found his profile on a websearch. He was not neurologist or specialist.
I complained that I specifically ask for a neurologist. And why is Just Answer advertising him as a neurologist in several places? I also complained to the doctor who answered the question. The doctor said that he was unaware that Just Answer were advertising him as a neurologist and that Just Answer forwarded this question to him. Customer service said that all their experts are qualified to answer questions and when I pushed about the false advertising, they were deflecting and never answered the question and said we will open your question up again.
So after sometime I received feedback from a new doctor being portrayed by Just Answer as a neurologist asking and proceeding to answer the question without any consent from me. And guess what, he wasn't a neurologist after a refined search leading to his profile page. Nothing would of indicate this during the process. The email I received stated him as a neurologist and also the website procedure page did.
I complained again both with the doctor and customer service. The doctor was unaware of the false advertising and tried his best to convince me he were a good doctor and became very pushy and somewhat bullish when I kept refusing his service and customer service kept stating that their experts were qualified and refused to answer falsely advertising him as a neurologist and said that I would have to resolve this complaint with the doctor.
After several mails with the doctor who was still trying to convince me and becoming somewhat aggressive finally gave up and said my question would be opened back up. Several emails to customer service revealed that they don't actually have any neurologist available at any time. And when I asked why they advertise and have profile picture and details of neurologist and then falsely portrayed doctors as specialist they refused to answer and for the last three days they are not answering my emails. So lessons have been learnt Just Answer falsely advertise specialist and falsely answer questions from specialist. They are financially benefiting from misleading credentials and information and false advertising. Stay away.
Hello Mariza, we're very sorry for any frustration. The site dual-categorized your question when it took longer than normal for an Expert to respond. This opened up your question to other doctors who are not neurologists. The non-neuralogist doctors who responded have opted out. There's a new reply from one of the Experts who is a verified neurologist, he goes by the name Neuro Doctor. You are welcome to work with the new Expert. Please let us know if you need further assistance.

I had hoped the diagnosis I received would resolve my problem but unfortunately only led me to spend more money and I still have the issue. My 2003 Honda Odyssey has been throwing codes P300 - P306 & P1399 which are random misfire codes and individual codes along with a transmission code. I have replaced the EGR valve and cleaned ports, replaced all spark plugs and coil packs prior to submitting my question. I also noted that I have a ticking sound while running.
The suggestion was that this was easy and the mechanic was surprised they missed this. He replied that I needed the valves adjusted. After having the valve adjustment done on all 24 valves it does sound quieter but it is still throwing the same codes shortly after starting especially if you left it parked and just idle. Well after paying the $28 for an answer I received an educated suggestion that unfortunately did not pay off. I don't disagree the valve adjustment was probably needed but now I spent the cost of a valve adjustment and the $28 for an answer and I am still back to square one.

The ConsumerAffairs reviews for JustAnswer look to me like they're being manipulated by JustAnswer. Any poor review is stamped with a big X and crossed out. Look at all the ones that are crossed out - I think those are the real ones. This company appears to pose as a regular Q & A board like hundreds of others you can view free. I went to see if I could clarify a Roku issue. I started reading through some comments - just as I'd done on other sites. Suddenly, up pops a chat box with a "Computer Technician Assistant" offering help. I entered my question and was then told that she'd put me in touch with a real Technician after I paid the 5$ fee. No information given at the time that that's just the FIRST fee. You pay another fee after the Technician answers your question. This information isn't given upfront. It strikes me as very deceptive.

An Expert responded to your question which is why you received a charge for the balance due, however, the Expert isn't paid unless you’re satisfied with the help received and rate the service accordingly.

I was desperate for expert medical support; it was a Sunday. Sumi, my elderly Siamese mix had gone down to 4 lbs. She was just given a depo shot 1 week ago to lessen the drastic loss of fluids, thru diarrhea and vomiting. I was advised against feeding her chicken or any kind of fish as this was considered to aggravate the condition. Venison, duck, quail, turkey... None of these did she care for. On Sunday I was overwhelmed with helplessness, and needed to reach out. I went online and found your service.
Dr. ** was compassionate, professional and very clear as to what direction I should take. He suggested that her symptoms might in fact be more indicative of gastrointestinal tract lymphoma or severe inflammatory bowel disease, and that there were no dietary restrictions if this were so. I then offered her solid light tuna in olive oil and rice; she cried loudly as I spooned this onto her plate as she wanted it so badly. She ate everything. Her eyes looked bright again and she looked as if she had been restored mentally and perhaps physically too.
I then gave her some chicken and she ate that also with relish. She then wanted water, so I allowed her to go out to my covered lanai where there was a water dispenser. She drank. It was raining, but she did not seem to mind; she was under the protection of the roof so would not get wet. She did not ask to come back into the house, so I left her there. In the morning I found her body under a different lanai.
I was initially stunned and in pain then I felt a huge sense of gratitude that I had been able to offer her something at her last meal that she so enjoyed. That to me was a special privilege... and that would not have been possible had I not had the wonderful advice of Dr. **. Thank you so much for being there for us folks who treasure our animals and for offering the very highest quality of professional care. I will call again, but NOT wait for an emergency!

Apparently there is a lot of automation on this site. They make you think someone is on the other end of your PC from the moment you visit. I was greeted immediately by a pop-up telling me an expert was waiting to answer my question (not true). I also had a pop-up telling me to pay $5 for a "reservation???" After reading much fine print I saw that it was a deposit of some sort on the amount I agreed to pay. I adjusted the sliders that automatically change the price I would pay for the answer... depending on the speed and complexity.
Twenty dollars seemed fair for a five second reply from an "expert" because that's how long a real expert would of needed to answer the question. I broke a wire while replacing the starter in a 1993 Mercedes 190e and I need to know "where does this brown/white wire go?" An expert in the field of Mercedes-Benz repair would of known immediately just like I would know where a broken starter wire in a Chevy would go. That's MY expertise! So anyways I get a message upon paying the initial $5 that my question was now being "REVIEWED BY EXPERTS." "WOW!!! This is awesome!!! Mercedes-Benz Experts are gonna have an answer within two minutes for sure!!" I thought! NOT!!
Nobody was reviewing my question at all (sad face). It would sit in whatever database they have for unanswered questions waiting for someone in their pool of "experts" to come along and answer it. It sat lonely in this pool for about 20 hours when someone came along and answered it with a very poor answer at that. Once he answered it with that very poor answer JustAnswer.com immediately took the balance of the money I agreed on ($15.00 more). It didn't matter if I liked the answer at all. Just the fact that he responded was the deal closer. I now had paid $20 and waited 20 hours for an answer that did not help at all. What he did was send me a link with the wiring diagram for a totally different car and told me if it didn't help to get back to him. I wasn't in the mood for emailing back and forth with this guy (he told me he the rest of the help would be free) who was obviously not an expert in the field that I needed.
I immediately felt I had been scammed and went on to ask for my money back because that's how it works. They have your money now and it's up to YOU if you want to take it back. I told the expert that the diagram did not help at all and gave him just one star. I did this because GUESS WHAT!!! I read the fine print and it says that if you give anywhere between 3 to 5 stars then you have accepted the answer they've given and case closed! If you ask another question after giving a rating then you will be charged again! So NEVER rate the person 3 to 5 stars unless you are completely satisfied!!!
So immediately after giving the guy one star he replied... "Well I assume from your rating you do not need my help find this. Best you you and thank you just the same." (That's copy and pasted... not MY grammar). So I followed the instructions for a refund that were simpler than I expected and after watching the charge disappear and then reappear on my online statement for about a week it seems that it's all over and I have my money back. PS. I don't know why I even tried using this site for a car question. I used it 9 years ago as well and they didn't help then either. So ONE star only because I got my money back.
Read the fine print. At night and weekends it may take MUCH longer to get an answer. People in the automotive expert field (ASE certified) may NOT have a clue about a specific type of car. Experts are NOT waiting at their keyboard 24/7 waiting to answer YOUR specific questions. You pay $5 the moment your question is posted and the moment you get any answer at all (correct/incorrect) is the moment you get billed in FULL. Give a positive rating of 3-5 stars at that time and you've accepted the answer and closed the case. These are the things they should have in BOLD print because they are not obviously stated. I feel this site is a bit SHADY! You've been warned!!

NOT HAPPY with the way this worked out for me. Yes I was very pleased with the first answer I received which was not free in any sense of the word. I asked about a collection which included 12 pieces so I decided to pay the $38.00 as I had no idea how else to get my items valued for less. Couldn't find items on Ebay, books, etc. For my $38.00 I received the current value of only 3 item so I figured, OK I need to be a member first and since I was happy with my results decided to start the "free trial" offer only to find that would be an additional $38.00. Now it took me almost a week to decide to spend the first $38.00 but I really need to sell these items and needed this information so I went ahead. WRONG. TOTALLY WRONG thing to do. I even replied back to request if "membership" would get me a complete answer, a simple yes or no question. I got a "glad you're happy, good luck. ask for again if you have more questions"???
So I'm still happy with my first answer and decide to take the free trial thinking the first week was already paid and I could decide to continue or not. NOPE!! ANOTHER $38.00 SO BEWARE OF THIS SCAM. I forgot of a moment what my mom taught me "if it sounds good to be true, run away fast" and "some lessons are learned the hard way."
Hi Kim,
Thank you for the reply and for the kind words. I'm glad that we were able to work with you and get you off on the right track. It was a pleasure speaking with you.

Where do I start? Hmm... On a positive note: I had a good experience and got good advice from who seems like a reputable expert. But everything about how this site conducts its business is shady and short-sighted. I probably won't come back; no repeat business from this diligent consumer! Here are just a few issues: Shadiest first - the site gave my expert a 5-star rating, told me that I HAD GIVEN A 5 STAR RATING, and gave no way to change or adjust the rating. No wonder the experts all have 5-stars across the board!
Before engaging the service you can view some sort of profile info about a completely random selection of "experts" but there appears to be no way to see info about the "expert" that is helping you. They're constantly trying to prod and even TRICK you into signing up for a monthly service when all you want is a single answer. They charge you instantly for any and everything, offering a 30-day refund if you fight it. I feel like they should wait until you have at least gotten a response before charging since they took the $5 deposit for the "appointment". Why ask for a deposit and then immediately charge the remainder? Answer: the deposit is just a fake thing to trick you into thinking there will be a delay before the charge.
Hello Jacob, we're very sorry for any confusion or misunderstanding over how the site works. The $5 deposit is charged to validate your credit card and allows your question to be posted on the site. The remainder deposit is only charged if an Expert responds. The full deposit amount is needed to unlock answers for viewing. Customers who opt for a premium service are charged for the premium service at the time they ask for it, and the Expert is given an automatic 5 star rating. Our terms of service explains, "If you have already asked a question, received a response and have not yet rated the Expert, if you then proceed to accept such Expert’s offer of Additional Services, you will be deemed to have accepted the response as if you had given such Expert a “5” rating." JustAnswer has a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee that allows you to request a refund, for any reason, within 30 days of your payment. You can contact our customer support center by sending an email to support@justanswer.com.

When I first moved to the US on work in 2011, I wasn't aware of the traffic laws in the country. I wasn't sure if I could drive with my Indian driving license and so many related legal issues. The more I googled, the more conflicting information I saw, the more confused I got. One of the pages I landed on was about a similar, but slightly different question that an Expert on JustAnswer had helped with. Encouraged by the exhaustive and non-legal easy to understand explanation, I asked my question. What thrilled me was that the expert addressed every conflicting explanation I had seen online before I asked about it and proactively explained the situation it applied in and addressed my question. What could have taken multiple back-and-forth interactions was resolved in just one exhaustive, simple to understand and most importantly - respectful and empathetic response that I got.
Since then, I have used JustAnswer multiple times with consistently delightful experiences... While filing my first tax returns in the US, an Expert on JustAnswer not only addressed my local tax questions, but proactively explained the tax treaty between the US and India and how it would impact me and my taxes here and back home. When my family was visiting me, an Immigration Lawyer not only patiently addressed every query I had but went out of the way and offered to review documents and provide insights and suggestions.
In a world where people grudge helping others, I found a place where Experts go out of their way to help you and for a fraction of the cost it would take for an in-person consultation with a professional. There are many out there who cannot afford professional services. This service can be a blessing for many like me, not just because it is cheaper, but also because the responses you get are often far more elaborate and helpful than what you would get in an in-person interaction with a professional. Very impressed!!!

I was told that to ask a question it would cost me $5 and that this fee was refundable if the question was not answered, or if I found the answer to be less than helpful. If I found the answer helpful I would be charged $40. I paid the $5 - asked the question. I waited...and waited. Finally I got an email from JustAnswer stating that a lawyer had answered my question. I went to look at the answer and instead reached a page that said "Sorry, there was a problem with your payment, would you like to use another method to pay?" No, I would not...so, I waited longer. Another email arrived saying that I should look at the answer that my question had received. Again, I reached a page with another payment error message with another prompt to pay again using another method. No, thank you.
Finally I contacted the support for JustAnswer and was told that I needed to log into my account to see the answer. Wait a minute...I have no account. All I did was ask a question. I did NOT create an account. By this time an hour had passed and I logged into my bank to check if there was a charge against my credit card. There were two charges pending. One charge was for $5 dollars, the other was for $40. They not only presumed that the answer which I never saw was acceptable but was actually helpful. That would only be true if the question were, "What's the silliest way to lose $45 dollars?" So far I have successfully disputed the charge. To date; I have never seen the answer to my question. Lesson learned: Never pay upfront for something as vague as an acceptable answer. I was foolish to have trusted them. They were greedy to have attempted to fleece me.

Anyway a few days ago I tried to ask a question and they were asking me for money. I tried to call Customer Service as to why and got nowhere. I called back again and got the number for Adam ** in their California office -- head of Customer Service I believe. He emailed me something about heavy users staying with the same expert. OK. Fine. But why was my subscription canceled without cause or warning? It was very vague. The lady I spoke with who gave me his number said it looks like my service will be reinstated on the February 7th. What?? I think CEO Andy Kurtzig would not be proud of how this is being handled. It's still unfolding.
In any event, Adam emailed me back and addressed it to "Kirk" (my name is Steve), and told me to please contact him with other questions, I guess so that he can snicker and delete them. I forgot to mention that in the first day or 2 to test if my subscription was working I sent an "question" that "test to see if subscription is working." That's all it said. They charged me $38! I'm still involved in trying to resolve it but Holy Cow be careful with these people! Adam ** will get you nowhere.

Any parent with young kids will recognize my problem: how to get a baby to start sleeping through the night in his own crib. I've spent hours reading every strategy related to sleep training that's ever been written (slight hyperbole but you get the idea--desperate times and all). I read "the bible" that all my friends swore by (Happy Baby, Healthy Sleep Habits). I've created informal focus groups by surveying my friends and family. I've rocked, swaddled, pacified, sung to and attempted to bribe my 5-month-old son. Finally, a friend suggested posing the question on JustAnswer. I was skeptical, but given how much time (and money) I've spent on this problem, I decided to give it a shot.
Within 10 minutes I received an email from a board-certified pediatrician. She asked me a series of questions about the techniques I've tried and results I've witnessed. She then proceeded to put together a step-by-step plan for me (start bedtime earlier, let the baby cry for 5 minutes, soothe him back to sleep with reassuring pats, recreate the "family bed" feeling in his crib to make him feel secure, try sleep wedges, etc.). Seriously?!! I was floored. I spent $20 and I spoke with a pediatrician over a series of emails and I am finally making headway in my quest for a good night's sleep. And the pediatrician followed up a week later to find out how the transition was going. I was not expecting that level of care. I really wish someone had told me about JustAnswer.com months ago. I'll never get back those Zzzzz's...or the time and money I spent on other blogs and books.

Had to supply Credit Card info to even get to the question and thought that it would be worth the $17 or $20 (allegedly) if I got the problem solved since no one else seemed to be solving it. So once all signed up I was put in contact with an "expert" via chat and asked the question describing the problem. Expert told me he was putting the question out there to other experts and they will get back to me shortly. While I waited, I clicked on an archival search and reiterated my question in case the answer had been asked and answered in the archives - oops - $46 CDN charge also added to my bill and I hadn't yet been online with them 10 minutes.
I started looking at their guarantees and promises when I looked in email and had an "expert" asking me questions that my wife could have asked me - would have had to ask me because she is NOT familiar with the technology. While I was waiting, I poked around on the web further and found a location that HAD actually encountered my problem and had come up with a solution for it. So I started the refund process and was careful not to engage the "expert" any further. Contacted their customer service through email and was told that I hadn't paid yet and that there was only an Authorization for the funds and that they would see to it that that was cancelled. So... maybe next week but after reading some of the reviews here I'm expecting it may not be straightforward... I would avoid this site - and the more "expert" level you require an answer for the more I would avoid this site.

Bottom Line: When you rate someone satisfactorily, it charges you the full amount. So if an expert asks you to rate their work so far (which mine did), don't do it until you are done. I initially agreed to pay $28 if the answer to my TV issue was satisfactory. After one question, asking about what was going on with the TV, ** told me he could provide further troubleshooting advice for me to do the work myself to replace a part or I could take it to a repairman. He also asked me to rate his work so far, which I did (5 stars so far). The website then asked me how much I would like to pay him, giving amount options that represented percentages of the $28 I had agreed to. I took this to mean what percentage of the $28 would I like to pay him for the work so far (the webpage was unclear). I opted to give him $5. Turns out it had charged me the full $28 plus a $5 tip at this point (although I had not realized it yet).
I also told him I would try to fix the TV myself with his guidance. He asked me to take the cover off the TV and run it and then check certain parts (which were not listed in the service manual, BTW) to see if they were warm. I checked the parts I thought he was talking about the best I could and wrote back. After 50 minutes, he wrote and told me he was out on a service call and would get back to me. Because I didn't have time to wait hours between answers, I told him I would take it to a repairman, thinking I had just paid him the $5 for a max of 10-15 mins of work from his home.
After looking at my Credit Card statement, I saw they had charged me the full $33. I called customer service and they basically told me that because I had rated him the full 5 stars, I had agreed to pay the full $28. The $5 I selected was a tip. They did not seem to care that I said I would not be using their service again. So, just be careful when using them and realize that the expert may try to get you to pay before they are done working. They also don't seem to really care about customer satisfaction.

Further to my review a few days ago, I have received several emails from Just Answer's customer service confirming that my account had been refunded and that no subscription had been initiated. This was following my bank contacting them by telephone, prompt emails from me explicitly stating money had been deducted without authorization and threatening them with a legal action in fraudulent misrepresentation. I had avoided pressing the 'see answer' option in the email received, and had also added an addendum to my question requesting no expert's response, so I covered myself early on in the process.
A very prompt and polite resolution from JustAnswer's customer service following these actions. However do be aware, the site is full of embedded links which could cost you money and if you can navigate your way into their terms of business service rather than taking for face value web page presentation, you would be well advised to read them carefully before placing a question on this website. If you do get charged and you feel you shouldn't have been, act promptly and use a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

What a shame that most people only search consumer issues with a company after the damage is done! I asked for a legal answer on Just Answer accessing site from the home page. It quite clearly stated I would not be charged until I had received a satisfactory answer and said 2 lawyers were online 'now' and were preparing a response within 8 minutes. I selected a priority answer, the most expensive 'urgent' option and wrote my question. Within a few minutes I received an email thanking me for my payment of 56! 12 hours later, no response.
Fortunately I became suspicious when my card was immediately charged and found all these reviews. Thank you because in response to all your experiences, I immediately responded to the payment email saying I do not and in the future will not authorize any payments and I did not want my question answered and would be taking action for fraudulent misrepresentation. I also added this comment to my question online.
Went to my bank Lloyds, first thing this morning and the fraud department will be contacting them. Unfortunately, beware, once you have given your debit card details, it implicitly authorizes future payments. However my bank has flagged Just Answer on my account and will dispute any further attempts to charge my card by these people.
Buyer BEWARE, read the conditions in their term of business which are directly contrary to their web page presentations. Just Answer state that money becomes payable before a question is answered, that they are under no contractual obligation to provide answers even if they have charged you since money is paid prior to answer and the responsibility is passed out to anybody to pick up the question. The terms state that their legal 'experts' are not qualified to give legal advice or specialist advice of any form and that by paying for the service you have agreed to these conditions.
They also state that 'Just Answer' does not provide urgent answers and anyone needing an urgent response should not use their site. In fact, they are not it seems under any contractual obligation to provide a service at all, the whole website is geared to charging for a service that does not have to be provided made possible by their business terms. They offer no surety for any advice offered, avoid all claims of liability in offering said service and make it near impossible to cancel requests for information or subscriptions unwittingly entered into. Trade descriptions, gross misrepresentation, unfair contract terms and sale of goods act all flouted. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!

Requested advice on the legal impact of having signed the "Responsible Person" line, allowing a self-pay (Medicaid) disabled friend admission to nursing home (per the agreement between the two). The "expert" said that yes, I am liable, when another source says that a 3rd party is NOT liable for someone else's nursing home debt, per federal law. I was asked for more information and when I tried to state the additional info, I was advised that $47 would be due on top of the $36 I had just wasted. Be careful when using and navigating this site. It can be very tricky. My outcome was very unsatisfactory, and as far as I am concerned I paid them for nothing, which is contradictory to their claim of only being charged when satisfied.

I paid the required deposit of $5 to ask a question, with the belief that if I did not agree with or approve of the answer received, I would not have to pay. After the first question, it became apparent, I would have to ask several more questions to get an answer, as the protocol is to answer one question at a time, regardless if it is correct or complete. So, I agreed to a $38 membership for unlimited questions, based upon their 30 day, 100% approval guarantee. I had to ask the "expert" my question in four (4) different ways and was never given a correct or even a fully explained answer. It also took four (4) days to get the answers, 24 hours for each, even though each time I was told my wait time was "8 minutes." After the fourth (4) incomplete and wrong answer, I canceled my subscription and requested a refund of my $5 deposit.
That was 23 days ago. Today, I received my cc statement, only to find that in the past 23 days I have been charged $84. When I went to their site, it claimed I had only been charged the $38 membership. When I tried to make a "self-started" refund, per the site instructions, I was unable to, as you are no longer eligible for a refund if you have rated the expert already and it said I had rated him with 5 stars. I finally found the customer service number and called them, beyond furious, as I had not rated the "expert" and had in fact, canceled my membership. I was informed, that when a second question is asked, the previous question is "automatically" rated with 5 stars, thereby denying you the right to your own review and a refund. I threatened to file a complaint with the Attorney General and have been assured I will have a refund within 3 days. We will see.

The query I had was answered and I paid directly for this service. I did not agree to any membership but have had my credit card debited twice since. The only way to stop this was to shut down credit card. DO NOT give them your credit card numbers!!!

I'm starting a new software company and needed advice on the best escrow and payment processing firms to collaborate with. JustAnswer's expert pointed out the most important criteria for selecting a firm right off the bat, then provided links to the top 2 firms with tons of useful information. Beyond that, the expert also engaged in some comparison discussions about a 2nd tier company and continued the chat until I was comfortable with my choices. Saved me a ton of time.

JustAnswer is amazing! I was able to fix my car for a fraction of the price! I have used them several times and am always impressed. One time, the expert wasn't able to help so I got a refund easily. Their customer service is really great if there's a problem. Thank you!

Today I used the JustAnswer.com website to ask about a problem with my Garmin Vivosmart. They answered in an email message with a link that brought me to a page where I could not answer the technician's question ("How old is your device?"). I phoned the company and someone got me to their page. I answered his question, then *nothing* happened. I decided to pay more for a phone call with an "expert" after discovering that each back and forth exchange online with the technician and me could take up to 8 minutes (so I might be on the phone with him for most of the day).
After the company confirmed via email that the phone call would occur and that I would be charged an additional charge for that to happen, nothing happened after close to an hour. I phoned customer service to cancel the phone call. They said the charge would be removed after 3-5 business days, but not the $21 charge for the technician to ask me online how old my device is. Absolutely useless company.

Was querying the completion of a tax return and they seemed to have some sensible and good postings from their panel of experts. However, on deciding to go for advice myself, which I thought would only be payable once I had confirmed a "satisfactory answer", I found they debited my account instantly. They then contacted me to say that to complete my query I then had to make a further payment, double my first installment!! Serious misgivings about JustAnswer and my bank are now blocking any further transaction requests.

After a couple emails, I was able to receive a $45 credit and they have said they are going to credit me the $55 also. A lot of persistence seems to have paid off. They should explain their billing and follow up with doing the right thing. They should make sure they follow up on the results of their suggestions before billing additional charges. I would give them a 3 star rating if they refund the $55 dollars as indicated.

Tried to get a refund per their Terms of Service & they will not respond. The answer they gave me to my one question was not satisfactory or helpful. I let them know in my Survey and with another email. I tried calling their toll free number and got a recording which did not help. Their terms of service state they will give a refund if you are not satisfied. I do not have an order number. They billed my credit card, but did not send me any kind of invoice or statement. No Order Number, Receipt or Image.
