I have previously made 3 purchases with no problem, this time I had to change my credit card information. Somehow the data got scrambled. It changed the type of card, the exp date and the CVC number but reverted to a card which was lost and replaced with a new number which had now also expired. I changed the number to the correct number in "my account" on their website. Then they started to call and write to tell me my card was declined. They were using the old info.
I explained that my new CC info was in their system but all employees I talked to said they didn't have access to that info and refused to put me in touch with someone who did have access. They were rude and hung up on me. If their company doesn't give alleged supervisors access to CC info why should I give my CC info on the phone to them? The correct info was in their system but they couldn't look for it. They said they would cancel the order. I won't be buying from them again.

I have no review of a product, it hasn't arrived yet. Heartland has sent me emails saying the product is back ordered, for 3 1/2 months. Yet last week I received my catalog. Guess what, product is in there for sale still. Today I get another email saying it will be 4 months after order date that I may have it shipped. Customer service on emails are placating. Live operator didn't like my attitude and put me back on hold. Never shop with them again!

We ordered a 3-XL puffed men's coat as a gift a week ago. The product was delivered today and a delivery time of a week is excellent. Since it was a gift, I tried it on to make sure of the sizing and it fitted like a LARGE coat sizing. I happen to wear an X-Large and tried two on in local stores today with both of their brands fitting me perfectly. The Heartland America coat was tight on me (a man) with a loose fitting shirt - thus a Large sizing fit. It also fitted my daughter correctly and she wears a woman's large size.
I contacted their customer service department and can return the coat for a $2.95 restocking fee and return shipping fees at my cost. For the minimum amount to be added back to my account, I am donating it to a local charity for their coat drive. I suggested that their vendor is providing them with inferior products and that they needed to remove a same sized coat from their stock and check it for proper sizing. Their response was that they already randomly do and that no two vendors size everything exactly the same. I will give them that point, but to be off by THREE sizes is more than just sizing clothing differently. I will NOT order any clothing from them since sizing is apt to an issue and suggest anyone else beware that they might have the same problem.

On March 13, 2018 I purchased a pair of fisher men's sandals size 10. Shoes were received in a timely manner, but when I opened the box tried on the shoes they were too big, I prepared the box for return and did costing $10.33. To be replaced by a size 9 (Be sure to read the fine print on returns). I waited and waited finally a box came from Heartland. When I opened the box the shoes were a different style called "Black Leather Strap Sandal" size 12. Now no one from Heartland will respond so I am stuck with a pair of shoes wrong size, wrong style. I'm out the shoe cost $42.98 plus the cost of return shipping $10.33. They do not answer their phone, respond to e-mail.

In January I purchased a pair of shoes from Heartland America. They came as size 9 but even though I wear an 8.5 they were so small I couldn't get my foot into the shoes. After numerous calls and misdirection I finally got a return label from Heartland. Some of the customer service people were good but most were discourteous. I wasted all told 2 hours on hold. Finally after 2 months I received a partial refund. I was charged a restocking fee. I was told I should only buy shoes where I could try them on, but Heartland is mail order. The message from a supervisor in customer service was don't buy shoes from Heartland. If you do not care about wasting your time, being charged fees for Heartland's mistakes and having to endure bad behaviour Heartland's the company to deal with. My suggestion is avoid Heartland like the plague.

Ordered 5 items on 2/22/18, paid for them, They shipped 2 items by BLUE LABEL on 2/26/18 that have never arrived. Remaining 3 items are backordered by 1 month. Called them on 3/7/18 to find out where my 2 items were that was shipped blue label. Spoke with Linda who said the shipper is bad and do not update their tracking of packages? So I can wait for it to show up, she was obviously not concerned or interested in offering anything else to me just by the tone of her voice. I told her to cancel the 3 backordered items & she asked if I wanted to cancel the VC membership pricing I paid $19.99 for, but they would charge me $6.99 to do that? This company should be put out of business by the State's Attorney General for being such a ripoff! Save yourself the frustration and order from a qualified company!

We ordered leather car seat covers. They were on back order so it took a while to get them but the company was very good about keeping us posted and updated. The covers were good and we liked them. But the modem/ router I bought had no serial number because it was refurbished. It came with instructions how to get the serial number "if we needed it". Well of course we needed it. And the instructions involved using an ethernet cord and going on a computer online which wasn't possible for us and even if it was I doubted whether that was even going to work. So I returned the router at a postage of $10. Plus they want another service fee. You already had to pay a service fee when you buy something, I complained and the "manager" said he'd give me a full refund.
So after much trouble following the tracking number with the post office because they said the receiving company has to put "received" on the tracking list and Heartland said that's the post office's responsibility. I did get a refund. But they still charged the service fee and the "discount coupon" I had used. So I lost $7 more on the return. When I complained the "manager" said managers can't promise to waive a service fee. Only the returns department can do that and the customers are not allowed to talk to them. This is a real schlock operation. Only deal with them if you are absolutely sure you are not going to return the item.

Order 2 items on 12/5/2017. Got one item on 12/14/2017 and still haven't got the second one. Called them 3 times with the 1st response the product is being shipped from supplier, 2nd time the product should be here any days, the 3rd time is the product is being processed. I guess all they're doing is keep telling fake information. Their website is no different cause the order tracking shows all 2 product being prepared for shipment even the one I received on the 14 of December. Tried to cancel and the only answer is I cannot cancel due to they can't stop the shipment process. I figure that maybe the product to arrive in the next 20 years. I know I won't order anything again and plan to refuse it whenever it get here.

I ordered 2 pairs of shoes. One pair arrived and is ok but the second pair was back-ordered. My credit card was charged for both pairs of shoes. I requested a refund on the unavailable shoes and they gave me a partial credit and shorted me $6.67. I e-mailed them twice and spent about 40 minutes on the phone, mostly on hold, trying to get my additional money. They insisted that they had never charged for the back ordered shoes and they did not owe me any refund. I tried to explain that they already charged me and they already gave me a partial refund. I just wanted the full amount of the refund. The woman assisting me was very unkind in tone of voice - telling me if I had a problem to take up the issue with PAYPAL. Was it worth all the frustration for a mere $6.67? Probably not. Will I EVER buy from them again? Absolutely not.

I have ordered from Heartland quite a few times and was well satisfied with the items I had ordered. I knew that the items were not top of the line or a discount company wouldn't be selling it. That being said I will tell you that if they call you and tell you welcome to their discount club tell them right then that you do not want to be a member because if you just say thanks for calling they will hit your credit or debit card for $39.98 without you telling them it's ok.
I got the call and the rep said that they were checking their records and I had been overcharged by $7 for the products that I had ordered and they were giving me a refund on my card and that I would be enrolled as a member now so I would always get a 10% discount on any orders. What he neglected to tell me was that in order to get the credit on my card they would charge me the membership fee. I happened to check my bank the next day and there was no credit just a charge of $39.98. I called their customer service number and was told that was what the charge was. I said I never authorized that and wanted it put back on and I was told only a supervisor could do that and immediately put on hold. I was doing something else at the time so I put the phone on speaker and it had some sorry guitar music playing for 22 minutes at that time the line was disconnected.
I kept the number that they called me from and called it back and was told there would be a credit on my card in 3 or 4 days, the problem is that they didn't tell me which 3 or 4 days so I will have to get VISA to take care of it I guess. I would not recommend this company to anyone because as others have said they are scammers and when you do get hold of someone they are beyond rude. I will do as another reviewer said I am going to file a complaint with the attorney general.

I then told them that I wanted my money back and I had told them I wanted to know how long it would take to get the check and I was told 2 weeks.
I called in again today and I was told That the check was written but it would not be mailed out until the 2nd of October. Heartland America may have some interesting products and good deals, but I would think twice about purchasing any electronic products from them. I've purchased six electronic products from them. They either flat did not work out of the box, had other serious defects, or failed shortly after their usage. The last straw prompting this review was the purchase of two TV digital to analog converters - one did not work out of the box. Heartland demanded that I contact the manufacturer since the item was within the warranty, period rather than issue an RMA for its return. Payment for this item was of course rejected, which was upheld by my credit card company. The other device failed shortly after usage began, but unfortunately after it had been paid for.

My parents bought a 5X magnifying lamp from these folks on the 8th of August. They brought it over two days ago, and I put it together as I gave double vision (bad... goes both horizontal and vertical after 3-4 seconds causing migraines and vomiting) I've lost over 34 pounds since the wreck. That is why they purchased it. I was on hold 28 minutes for Robert (refused to identify himself or ID number for call backs (a bad sign)) and finally told me I would have to pay return shipping, plus $2.95 return fee, and to see his reaction I told him I had my laptop and had come to find "the top 95 complaints against them..." there was a lengthy pause then, "Hmpf. Well I've never heard anything like THAT!"
I told him I could give him the website and he could see, but even though I told him how reassured customers would be if he acknowledged they had some problems but he would help them through... he refused, and I knew. They do not care about consumer complaints. That lack of care is a lack of fear. The lack of fear means they counted all this in when they set their prices. That means the money they pay on quick settlements doesn't affect profits. Sounds bad... but that one question gave FIVE clues! And the sum of the four is, if you DO actually carry through, they ARE going to offer a QUICK, therefore quiet (to keep the scam viable) and since Interstate Commerce Laws (especially those cases involving seniors also violate number of laws. [Again and Vulnerable Adults Act] THOSE laws carry up to triple the courts maximum punitive damages!
Anyway, after speaking to "Wayne" (refused to give an identity number too, surprise!) he said because of the costs (ALWAYS TELL THEM YOU'RE A DISABLED SENIOR if you are) and he "offered" an ARS --- Automatic Return Shipping Label. That's supposed to cover shipping costs. But I won't hold my breath.
THAT'S why I wish my parents would get a laptop or upgrade to a smartphone so they can look at these companies before they buy. Just like the call to "Drain The Swamp in D.C.," I hope to inspire you to "Drain Bad Business" by calling them out, and doing whatever is legal to make them fly right. So they don't hurt someone else, parents, grandparents, family or friends. If we hope to bring America out of this hole we're in it has to start by us caring enough TO look out for those we don't even know, because we have to show our worth, not just talk it. Sheepish look, embarrassed... Gets off soapbox... Anyhow, probably burned too... but will try to inform if anything works out.

1. The back side of the invoice that comes with the product is the return form and label if needed. I really want to keep my invoice, so I have to burn a copy.
2. There is no way to get an online acknowledgement of the return. I can view my order online for status, but that is all. I will have to pay to send the product back at my expense without a RMA or knowing what Heartland plans to do about the return.
3. I have to pay a $2.95 return processing fee, and return shipping to exchange a product that was shipped with a defect. Here again, more expense without a commitment from Heartland as to their resolution.
4. I used a $10 promo code to purchase the product. Not sure if it will apply to the exchange, so I don't know if I will owe an additional $10 to complete the exchange. Also not sure if I will owe another $6.95 shipping fee for the replacement to be shipped.
5. There is a place on the return form to sign that will allow the credit card used for the purchase to billed for the cost of the return/exchange. I am reluctant to agree to unknown fees & charges.
6. After spending 30 minutes on hold waiting for the next available customer rep to find out what my total cost for the exchange would be, I gave up. This is totally unacceptable. The price and delivery time was OK, however, with so many products offered with possible poor mfg. quality standards, customer service after the sale is a must. That means no more Heartland for me.

After reading the experiences of returning products on here, I'm not even going to try. It's a wash and I'm stuck with it. I bought this unit for an emergency jump, and within 2 weeks of its arrival, I needed it. Fully charged it did nothing on the jump. And the spotlight head fell off, pulling out the wires. I checked on the HSN site, and most reviews said the same thing.
I'm a senior, and thought I was buying peace of mind. I also contacted the design/manufacture company for info on reconnecting the pulled wires, and got no response. All I got was a 12 pound PAPERWEIGHT. And no free shipping as advertised, I had to pay extra. Why don't catalog companies vet the products they sell for defects? If I'm going to buy junk items online, I'll do it on Ebay at half the cost. Save your money and DON'T buy this item. You can't count on it for an emergency.

I did receive an email order confirmation and the delivery date stated unknown at this time. Huh? The item was clearly labeled on their site as "in stock." When I opened the box to follow the instructions they recommended you disconnect your existing WiFi. Additionally a CD Rom was needed to do the installation and was missing. When I called to complain and was quoted a restocking charge I was assured that due to my situation no stocking fee would be imposed.
I returned the item at my expense. My tracking with the Post Office the package arrived on the 28th. I allowed about 5 days and tried to contact them via phone. They said that all reps were busy and then the line went dead. After trying a number of times I resorted to an email to the company. 3 days later the reply was they were busy and refunds would come in about the next 2 weeks. Finally on Dec. 16th refund was issued minus a little over $8.
To say there's product misrepresentation and sloppy handling of returns is an understatement. They break all norms of what is required by credit card companies in the amount of time that is allowed for refunds. This should certainly be brought to the credit card companies' attention when handling their accounts. I ordered & received an electronic bible for $19.99, after $10.00 mail-in rebate. When I received it in the mail it was accompanied by a $10.00 certificate which I had assumed was the rebate. I had a lot of things going on in my life at that time so I put the certificate on hold. A few months later I re-discovered the certificate & found that this was to be used on my next order, not a rebate! I called them & they then gave me a different tel. # to call (their rebate dept) to start the rebate process, which included their sending me a form which would explain my next move, & gave me a rebate #.
After receiving this I discovered that there had been a time limit on my request & that it had expired! None of this was explained when I made the purchase, nor the hoops that I was required to jump through to qualify. I called them again to try to have this rectified to no avail. In addition to all of this they had charged me almost $9.00 s&h on this small item that could have been sent for two .49c stamps. So, I ended up spending almost $40.00 for something that I had expected to cost about $25.00.
This is not the first time I've had problems with them, but is the last. I returned a pair of shoes a few years ago (they didn't fit) & I only received 1/2 of my money back. They are not to be trusted. Very slick.

I told her in certain terms that I did not want them to sell my name to other companies, and to delete me from their catalog send-outs! She promised not to anymore, which I cannot believe because newer catalog companies have sent in their catalogs as well! Also Heartland America did not stop sending me catalogs!
The 2nd time I called, I asked them NOT to keep sending me catalogs, after which the woman said she would take care of it! No, they didn't listen or pass my message to the proper agent! I am still getting them, which really tee's me off! Also, I did pay a 20 dollar membership fee the first purchase, and no one ever told me that it was a YEARLY renewable fee! Knowing that some customers want to recover that yearly 20 dollars, they would probably purchase more items! I am totally sick of them at this point!

When I logged into my bank account several hours later, there was a debit of $19.99. I called my bank, I called customer service at Heartland to inform them of fraud. There was no order placed, there was no mention of any charge for answering my phone. How dare they use private information from their records to charge my bank for nothing. The ad I received online at the top of the message said "Free Shipping on All Orders"... I think that means all orders on the site Right?

She was cold-hearted and said, "Have a nice day." They obviously need to get different supervisors. I will never buy anything ever again from Heartland America. So like Tiffany said, "Have a nice day, Heartland."

I bought an item from this company back in June 2012. They sent the item defective. They issued a return label when I called and explained that the item is defective. The problem is, I am still waiting for my refund. Four months later, when I called them up to ask what is taking so long, they claimed that it was sent out but I never received it. So now they told me that they have backlog on refund returns. Then, I just recently called them back and now they are telling me that I have to wait till the end of the month so they could get their billing invoices straightened out. This is the first time I have heard any company tell me I have to wait up to the end of the month till they get their act together.

I ordered what I thought was a Dell computer on 6/28/12. I was told it would take about 3 weeks to get it. When it finally arrived on 7/18/12, it was an HP that had lots of blemishes which I didn't know from reading the ad in the magazine. It said that. The print was so small you need a magnifying glass to read. It looked like it was 10 years old, heavy and big. I called Heartland and they referred me to the vendor. I called them and they gave an RMA but now I have to pay the freight cost to send it back. I didn't buy anything from the vendor and shouldn't have to go through the vendor. I paid Heartland, not the vendor! I will be taking this complaint to the Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney General's Office. I think this company is very deceitful and has some underlying fraudulent processes just to get money. I advised everyone not to buy anything from Heartland.

I ordered a cordless drill and cordless mike set. When I received the order, the drill price changed from $49.99 to $59.99. I called and canceled the whole order. I sent the drill back. I asked for a full refund and never received but $13.99 back. Since Dec 2011, they had charged me for a mike set that was not in stock. I had sent a money order of $76.99. I called them 4 or more times and they continue to lie and sent nothing. So I told them you will hear from the NY state attorney general's office.

My first experience with Heartland America was good. I had purchased a video recorder back in December of 2011 and had no problems with it. Since the first purchase my email inbox has been bombarded with advertising from them. Recently I saw a watch in an ad I was interested in, and had only viewed the watch.
The advertised price in the email flyer they sent did not match the price when the web site opened from clicking on the ad. I chose not to purchase the watch and simply closed the web page. Just to be sure, I clicked on the ad again and the same price appeared. Again, I just closed the ad. Several days later I was checking my email and saw two emails from Heartland America that my order had shipped. Both emails confirmed two separate orders for the same watch going to the same address.
I called Heartland America as this had to be a mistake. The first person I spoke with was nice, but she was unable to help me. So she transferred me to a senior representative. The senior representative, Chris, spoke to me rudely and told me that I screwed up and that there is no other explanation. I explained that it would make more sense, that if I did want to purchase the watch, and had I wanted two, that I would have placed two of the same item in the cart and made one purchase. Chris told me the only resolution was to return both items after they were received, and when the items were returned back to Heartland America, only then would I be credited back for the items. I was extremely upset and sent an email to info@heartlandamerica.com expressing my disappointment.
The email received no response. Today, I called my credit card to dispute the charges, only to find out that not only had Heartland America charged me for the two watches I did not order, but they had also placed an additional charge on my card that I never authorized. I now had to cancel the card so no other un-authorized charges could be placed on the card. The trouble Heartland America has caused me was totally not worth it. I am now going ahead and contacting the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General’s office.

I recently purchased MZ-20504 lower cabinet with the upper cabinet. I (account #**) was called by your organization to renew my preferred status & shipping which I did. I told the operator at the time that I had a problem with the above cabinet. I was transferred to another department where I told the operator the above cabinet had a defective lock on it. I had stored a number of my items in it and couldn't unlock the unit so we had to drill out the lock. I was told to purchase a new lock and send you the bill. Since I had already replaced it I asked for a credit on my account and was refused. I, therefore am cancelling my previous renewal and will advise my credit card company to that effect. Please credit my account.

I purchased a pair of solar powered lights (item no. MB-63420). I paid cash by credit card. One of the light is defected. Before this company will send me another light to replace the defected one, I have to return the defected one first. I don't have any problem of sending the defected one back. My complaint is why do they have to receive the defected one before it is replaced? How do we know that the company will not send the same one back to me? I feel I should receive a new solar light. First, I trusted them when I placed the order, with a credit card. Now it seems it is a matter of trusting me to send the defected one back. Stand behind your product, as you have advertised. Replace the solar light immediately. Thank you.

I ordered a DVD duplicator from a web ad. It was never delivered. When I received my Amex charge, I called Heartland and they said they would ship it out immediately. They stalled and stalled until more than 60 days had passed and now American Express refuses to open a dispute because it is "too late" and Heartland stalled me knowing the deadline would pass. They refused to allow access to their President's office, will not take calls and demand that I write them. Letters are ignored. Do not buy from this company unless you want to be "taken"!

They sent a letter to Heartland and I was issued full credit.

I ordered some products from this company about a year ago and didn't think anything else about. Well, they charged my card $43.98 on March 31, 2010 so I got the number and called. The male was very rude and would not give out his name or let me speak with anyone else. I advised him I did not sign up for a membership nor did I get a renewal form. The customer service rep didn't care and said I won’t be getting my money back. I didn't even know that they had kept my card on file. Is there anything I can do besides filling a complaint with my bank?

I have paid Customer Number: 7425894. Order quite some time ago and as many as 6 different service reps have said on back order then I sent this email on 3/12/2010: Thank you. I still think that the pricing you have charged me on this item is still screwed up. When I first ordered this from the catalog I had at that time and on the cover it stated 10% discount and $10.00 off any product inside catalog along with free shipping. I gave the order taker the catalog #, item # and was told the original price was $29.95 then with my 10 % discount as a member of Heartland - $2.95 = 27.00 then with my $10.00 off any order as stated on cover = $17.00 then using 1 of my 2 membership coupons of $10.00, ($10.00 each), from my membership - $10.00 = $7.00 plus (+) the $2.99 processing fees = $9.99. Is this not correct? Please advise. Thank you.

Searching the internet for a good price on a new Panasonic electric razor, I settled on HeartlandAmerica. I should have researched them first. I ordered one for $99.99 (they added $2.99 as a handling fee) and when I received the product, I realized that it was not new. I complained and they pointed out that the ad stated this. I went back to the ad and finally, in the end of some verbiage, they did state this in passing. Well if a product is not new, don't you think that they should state this in a more prominent place so consumers can be informed at a glance? Why should people have to carefully read a long paragraph just to find out that a product is not new? Well they said that they will take it back, but I'll have to pay the return mail. I suppose that it's a cheap $10 lesson to be on guard against scam artists like these.
If you'll look on the internet (Google) and search for HeartlandAmerica and the words scam or complaints, you will find thousands of hits. I think that the state of Minnesota should investigate this establishment and make them correct their ways. Thanks for your time.

My 82-year old father purchased a jacket from Heartland. After becoming very ill from the toxic fumes (chemicals) that were in this jacket (which was never worn), he asked if I would help him return it. I took the jacket to my home and kept it in my closed office because the smell was very strong. The next morning, I returned to my office to re-package the jacket. The smell of the chemicals from the jacket being in my office all night was so strong, I became nauseous trying to get it back in the bag and seal it. I went directly to the post office and was in line for some time. I had to stand away from the package as the smell was affecting my breathing. My hands even smelled like the chemicals from the jacket. When I returned home, I had to wash my hands to remove the strong odor. When I returned to my office, I had to open all the windows and air it out for some time so I could work.
Prior to returning the jacket, I called Heartland and informed them of the defect in the jacket materials. I requested that my father be reimbursed for having to ship it back. They told me that the shipping cost would not be refunded. My father would like a full refund of $32.98 for the jacket that made him very ill plus $9.86 for shipping it back too the company. I am very shocked that this jacket got through the proper inspection channels. There is something very toxic about the materials used.

I contacted the company to see if the harmonicas had any lead in them. I certainly do not want to inhale any lead in my lungs. The contact person told me they were not suppled with the information from the manufacturerer. I asked again for them to contact their manufacturer for me. They said they didn't have the information. This is crazy. Do I have to take this? Don't I have a right to have the manufacturer contacted about a product's content? This is crazy. I do want the harmonicas, but I need to know if there is lead in them. We are captives of China now.

I did not knowlingly accept this charge and believe it was somehow hidden in the online ordering process. (Perhaps a "CHECK THIS BOX IF YOU DO NOT WANT"), or something similar. I had returned the product UPS after being unsatisfied. Originally they said there would be a credit to my account and after waiting a few months for a credit to be made to my creit card I called back and their response was they were not giving me a credit because this product was not guaranteed. They also said I did not return the item in the correct amount of time which is 30 days. I stated I have proof of it being sent within the 30 days by UPS and it cost me an extra 4.90 to send it back. I also stated that it is clearly printed in black and white that they have a SATISFACTION GUARANTEE POLICY in their brochure and there is no reason for it not being upheld.
Their excuse was that this particular item was not covered in this policy. It was never disclosed that there were certain items not covered under this policy. They owe me 30.99 and that is not including the money I put out to return the item UPS. I truly hope this matter can be resolved since they were not willing to work with me.
