I had purchased a phone system on ebay due to the description of it being a 4-line system with 4 phones. When the system arrived, I saw that the phone did not have 4-lines on them so you can see which line is being used. They were dollar store phones, but the main unit itself was a 4-line unit. So I asked if I could only return the phones and keep the main unit, which was denied, and I was required to ship the entire unit back and pay over $120 for shipping. Ebay claimed that their 30-day period of holding a case open was over and due to that I was not eligible for a refund. In the case, there were several messages when I was trying to reach an agreement with the seller, and the seller kept declining and eventually stopped responding, and eBay closed the case and denied any further resolution even after I contacted them. I don't think it is fair that I receive a falsely advertised product. Here is the item number: 280691874450.

I sold a Gibson Les Paul guitar on eBay from Hawaii via standard post. I let the buyer know the shipping was going to take 3-6 weeks. The buyer complained, saying that something was wrong and that I did not actually send an item. Then the buyer escalated the case. eBay instantly refunded the buyer in full and expected me to pay for it. I have called and explained my situation 10+ times to many people and specialists that eBay has directed me to. Finally, they said I should fax them proof that I sent the item (as if the tracking number wasn't enough). I called the shipping company I used to send the guitar. They sent a fax to eBay of my receipt.

5 days later I called again. eBay never got it. I double checked the fax number with them and it was correct. eBay told me to fax it again and assured me they will be looking out for it. In the meantime, eBay has frozen my account and I'm getting threatening eBay messages saying if I don't pay, they will report my account to collection agencies. And of course, the buyer got a free Gibson Les Paul guitar. So the buyer complained a little and eBay refunded him without thinking, yet I (as the seller) have to pull teeth to get anything done. I am still trying to resolve this issue. I will never sell on eBay again.

EBay refuses to remove seller selling fake Gucci bags unless Gucci company requests it. This seller took me for $600 on a fake Gucci bag that actually looked like the real ones in every detail. Does this eBay seller have Gucci's permission to sell their products? Isn't this a trademark violation? Is the Gucci company going to stand by while their customers get ripped off by frauds? I have no images, just a loss of a lot of money. As long as eBay gets their cut, they don't care. They even hide the evidence of complaints.

I have been a seller on and off on eBay for over 10 years and have never experienced problems with eBay like I have in the past few months! Most recently, eBay withheld payments made to us because a couple of people, out of hundreds of completed transactions, complained about our shipping charges. Like many other sellers, I felt like I was the bad guy and they did not want to hear a word I said, much less even try to resolve the issue! I ended up hanging up on them after 30 minutes because the supervisor was of even less help than the customer service rep!

My understanding of very basic contract law it is this: A binding agreement between parties for exchange of goods or services in exchange for money or services as agreed to by the parties at time of purchase/exchange. So if I offer to sell a nice item on eBay for 1 cent, but am going to charge you $4.00 shipping and you purchase the item and agreed to the terms, then the purchaser gives bad feedback on shipping. This only happened a couple of times, but the eBay police took it within their power to freeze all future purchase/payments until we bring our rating up! They did not even want to hear my side of the story nor took into account the many excellent compliments we have had overall on our shipping! I find this not only immoral, but also flat out illegal! Has anyone ever considered starting a class action lawsuit against eBay?

It allows sellers to cancel bids and yet if a buyer makes a mistake, you have to proceed or you get blacklisted. Seller pnkn55563p9f decided to sell to someone else and ended the auction early canceling my bid so he could sell it to someone else. Wow. I called eBay and they said this is allowed up to 12 hours before end of the auction, even if there are bids. What a fraud! Whatever happened to offer and acceptance with the law? If I make an offer and it is accepted, then he is bound by it unless more is bid. Nothing is noted for buyers to know that the bid can be rejected. eBay needs to go down with the rest of the companies preying on us consumers.

Ebay pays these people to scam you out of your money, jewelry, electronics, iPhones, etc. That was the reason they bought out PayPal to have that great control. When you link your bank info to your PayPal account, they can take money out of your bank account till it is drained dry. The president and VP and most of the people who work for eBay, like Crystal, are in on the scam. They get a cut of the profits and sit there and laugh at you when they favor the buyer.

You have a loss of your hard-earned money. That is why they set it up that way, not for the sellers but for buyers and eBay. You people haven't figured out that if you hit them where it hurts and not list and not buy and then they don't make any money. Maybe then, they will stop favoring their scammer friends. They have hired to screw you and protect the sellers. Without the sellers, there is no money and maybe they will finally die off.

eBay is the only place where you can and will be raped under the buyer protection. I sold a brand new item on eBay, used the manufacturer's description word for word from the box, took nice photos of their website as well as my own of the item. It was sold to Patricia **, ** Huntington Beach, CA 92646. I shipped it out priority mail to her. I guess she thought it must have come from one of the Rodeo Drive Boutiques. I was sent this nasty threatening email complaining item not as described, as well as it was made in China. It was also stated by her that two items were broken out of the seven pieces in the box. I informed her I was going to call the company to let them know that they lied about the description on the box, even though the item was as described from the manufacturer.

After returning the item which had a tire mark on the box and the item came out in 10 pieces and was missing half the items in it, I called eBay, after talking to Bob VP and sending them photos of all the damage to the two boxes and items, they told me it would be taken care of. At the same time while on the phone to eBay, I got another email threatening me from the buyer that I had 48 hours to refund the money or something bad was going to happen. Today, I got an email from eBay that stated they sided with her, the buyer, and me, the seller, to go ** myself and gave her a full refund. While I have an item that was returned in 15 pieces and is missing pieces. Thanks a lot eBay.

In calling to get them reinstated, I was told that this is their way of verifying new sellers. This makes no sense. There is no reason to let listings stand for two days before verification, and no reason to pull them before giving the seller a chance to verify. Call me a former eBay seller. They've offered to reinstate the listings, but honestly, if this is the way they treat their customers, I'm sure I can find a better way to sell my books.

I bought a PS3 for my son; it was 'used' but was guaranteed to work. Upon arrival it did not work. The seller said, “Sorry, you are out of luck.” I called eBay and they pretty much said the same thing. I lost $160 on that deal alone. As a seller, the only thing they care about is their money. They don't protect the seller any more than the buyer. I hope people stop buying and selling on there and just go to Amazon where at least they care. What a joke of a company... The two, yes just two cases, that I filed were both justified and everyone I have talked with on eBay agrees that both cases were justified. I cannot speak with the person or persons who suspended me. No details, just suspended. I asked Supervisor Alex if he would like for me to have him arrested, thrown in jail for 14 days then released and told nothing, not allowed to speak with who or what charges. He agreed it was not good, however, it's just eBay's policy. There are a lot of people working at eBay who have only been there 5 years and are supervisors. The future does not look good for eBay. Rome and many other great organizations fell when they got too big for the people.

He claimed that the item description was wrong and demanded full refund + return shipping fee. I offered him full refund or help him to get the part working. He refused both and threatened with a negative feedback. I told him to file a case and I escalated it to the eBay customer service, expecting a decent review of the case. eBay sided with the buyer, though they only took the full refund from me and paid the return shipment themselves. However, after a case review request and call to the customer service, eBay refused to remove the negative statement left by the buyer (inaccurately stating the whole thing).

I had been buying and selling on and off through eBay for close to 5 years without any major problems and had 100% feedback and 98 transactions. On March 16th, I sold $224.95 worth of electronics to some scumbag in South Dakota, who then filed a fraudulent eBay buyer protection dispute alleging I had sent a box of books even though I protested and showed eBay evidence that that was a complete lie. eBay told him to return the items for a refund anyway. Three days later I got a box full of old romance novels from the scammer. He keeps my electronics and gets a full refund (including shipping) from eBay and I'm stuck with garbage, negative feedback, lost my merchandise and lost shipping charges.

I called eBay 5 times during the whole dispute and emailed evidence in the form of scanned shipping receipts with the buyer's signature and where the weight of what I shipped through the USPS (22 lbs. 2.8 oz) was different than what he shipped back through UPS. The label read 50lbs, but it really weighed 15.4lbs). I had video and photo evidence of opening what he sent to me. When I called the last time, they hadn't even bothered to open the email before refunding. I talked to both eBay customer care representatives and PayPal resolution center specialists. In the end they sided with the buyer and they threatened collections and damaging my credit if I did not pay the refund. I was forced to take the loss and be defrauded (eBay had already refunded the buyer and were coming after me for the refund. Their other company, PayPal, had all of my credit card information and bank account).

My eBay account was suspended because I had cursed at the fraudulent buyer after he had sent taunting messages to me through eBay. All it took is one simple lie from a dishonest person and them sending a box of old books. eBay believed them and then extorted the money from me, thereby aiding in facilitating mail fraud. In the end, with the added shipping of $29.18 plus $25 eBay and PayPal fees, I ended up losing over $270 and ended up with a diagnosis of high blood pressure from all the anger and stress of being defrauded and trying in vain to fight against it. I closed both eBay and PayPal accounts and would never use them to buy or sell again. I took the time to write this so others won't fall victim to this type of returns fraud committed by buyers, and basically facilitated by eBay's "the buyer is always right" buyer protection program.

As an eBay seller and buyer for at least a decade with 600 positive/100% ratings, eBay continues to be more and more restrictive along with its excessive fees along with its PayPal monopoly that almost forces you to use them to receive payment with a 3% premium on top of their fees, often whether your item sells or not. There are more and more auction sites that are coming to the forefront that are definitely worth looking into as an eBay alternative!

Their customer service people are also powerless to assist you with many real issues that arise based on their "policies" that are almost sometimes fascist in nature. Plus as a seller, one no longer has the ability to fight back against abusive feedback, with at least a response to any neutral or negative feedback received. I can't understand why the law does not get involved and clean this nonsense up. I bought two items that arrived totally destroyed (thanks to the USPS). The sellers, through eBay email, agreed to refund return shipping cost. When they received their items back, they then refused to pay what they had agreed to. So, I naturally left the sellers negative feedback. EBay suspended my account permanently. They said I received too many refunds and left too many negative feedback.

I received 6 refunds in 90 days so eBay suspends my buying because according to them, I have abused the refund policy. Not only did they restrict my buying, but they removed any negative or neutral feedback I left in the last year. There is nothing in eBay policy that specifically states how many refunds someone can or can't get, yet they use the term abuse of policy. When I questioned this, they said that I should not ask for a refund and that I should allow the seller to offer me a refund or a different item, but that I should never ask for a refund. So basically, they are saying I should accept something that is not as described.

EBay is also taking part of shipping cost of items. Even when the exact shipping cost has been charged, eBay still automatically takes part of that cost. While there are many sellers charging a lot more for shipping than is reasonable, they do nothing about it. Instead, they screw every seller on eBay. The feedback policy is a joke. If you leave negative or neutral feedback, it comes back to hurt you, not the seller. But more important, if you leave someone negative feedback and they complain, eBay reviews your whole buying history instead of taking care of a complaint. EBay is so invested in making money that they will screw a buyer in a minute. It is the sellers that keep eBay in business because it is the sellers that pay eBay directly. I understand eBay has to weed out problem makers, but to suspend account without first contacting the person and get their side is just not right.

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and received a generic answer from Ben ** at the Office of the President. He quoted paragraphs from their terms of service that claimed I am not eligible because they can do whatever they wanted.

He quoted the following paragraph: Per our User Agreement, "Buyers and sellers permit us to make a final decision, in our sole discretion, on any claim that a buyer files with eBay under the eBay Buyer Protection Policy."

I tried to call them again today and Jacob ** of the high value claims said it’s more than 45 days so eBay can't help me anymore. I told them I tried calling eBay several days earlier but the agent was of no help. But Jacob said it’s been 47 days so eBay can't do anything about it. I'm on my own. I don't know what to do; the price of the purchase is $4,250. I'm not a rich guy. I paid this with my credit card doing an 18 months payment. I don't know what to do.

I sold an item on eBay on December 18th 2012 and printed the quoted shipping label for $11.43. On January 25, 2013 I received an email stating that I owed a total of $28.84 in fees to eBay. Apparently, FedEx did not quote the correct price and there was an additional $15 charge that I was not made aware of before the package shipped. I spoke with a gentleman named Rob from eBay that day at around 9:00 AM. He informed me that FedEx had raised the prices and it had been a problem for numerous sellers on eBay. In an effort to rectify the situation, Rob informed me that he would be able to issue a credit or coupon in the amount of $15.00 to my account.

As of February 4th at 8:00 AM, I have not been given any credit or coupon. Upon calling eBay customer service for a second time, I spoke with Lewis. He informed me that there was nothing notated on my account in reference to any credit or coupon. I asked him if I could be provided with a copy of the recorded call, in which he stated, "Absolutely". After speaking to Lewis further, I was informed that he would have to research the call and would get back with me. This is a big company and I am just one person, and I get the feeling that things all through the cracks and are left unsolved. I asked again to be provided with a copy of the recorded call and Lewis told me that I would not be provided a copy, and that they handled those situations in a different department.

After being refused a copy of the recorded call, I asked to speak with his superior but he began to refuse. I was finally transferred to Daisy who informed me she would research it further and that she would take full responsibility for this call and would see to it that the call was processed properly. She informed me it may take an additional 72 hours. I sold the item on eBay for $20.00, shipping was $11.34, and now my fees total $28.84. Seems I paid them to sell my item on eBay.

I won an eBay auction - over $10,500 - for an ATV. The next morning, eBay contacted me to ask if it was okay to cancel the sale at the request of the seller. Reason: "None given." I answered no, and eBay notified me that the cancellation would be negated and the case closed. Only an hour later, the ATV that I won was relisted on e-Bay - with a minimum bid of over $15,000! I called eBay, and the condescending "customer service" representative defended the seller: She said that there was some kind of mistake in the original listing. I countered that the new listing was identical to the old, except for the price, so if there were a mistake, it was only that the seller decided after the sale that they wanted more money.

Unbelievably, eBay's suggestion to me was to start bidding again on the item I had already won, from the same seller, at 60% higher cost. When I asked how eBay could justify keeping a dishonest seller, and allowing them to immediately relist an item that had already been sold, she replied that the seller was a dealer and they pay for the listing, so they're allowed to say what they want. She suggested I could leave negative feedback. I told her that would not resolve the issue, and she said that was all they would do.

I told him that when the packages come, I'd refuse to accept delivery and return them. That was the last I ever heard from him. When the packages came, I did as I said I would. That was on December the 17th, 2012. I never got my money back. I complained with eBay but got no explanation. They refused to help. This is a follow-up response to my original complaint on Dec. 9, 2012. Shortly after filing the original complaint about my customer who was given a full refund after keeping the item (jewelry) beyond my guarantee period, l decided to file an appeal with eBay to try to get my money back. After they reviewed the case, they awarded me a full refund because this idiot customer returned the item back to me damaged and re-sized by her jeweler. This idiot customer admitted that she brought it to the jeweler - but just to have it cleaned! Fortunately for me, the Resolution Center didn't believe her story!

What annoys me is that this could've been avoided if eBay would have simply refused to give this customer a refund considering the obvious fact that she was way beyond my 14-day guarantee period. This customer's reason for her return was that the item was "not as described." She needed more than 30 days to see that it was "not as described"? Come on now! Common sense should have told these eBay people that this customer was a liar. eBay must change their policy if they want to hold on to their sellers. l am extremely dissatisfied with them.

I recently sold a Michael Kors bag on eBay and shipped it to a woman in California who had to have it in 3 days. We have a no return policy on our account which means nothing so I am not sure why they allow you to have that in place. The shipping cost us about $35 as we shipped it in the original box, added the leather cleaner and placed insurance on it. The woman from California immediately wrote to us that it was a fake and opened up a complaint. We told eBay that we had the original receipt from the store as proof. This woman buys these bags all the time which we found when we looked at her account, about 70 of them in the past month, and had purchased seven in the past week and had stated that five were fakes. Not a red flag? eBay sided with her without even consulting us or asking to see our proof.

Upon trying to deal with customer service, they read off a script, cannot tell you why a decision was made and were rude. I asked to speak with a manager. They told me after making me wait on the phone that one would call me back in the next two days but no one ever did. eBay then put the money in our PayPal account even though it was pending and charged my credit card. Now, I have the fees for that transaction and have to pay PayPal to request the check. How can they charge your credit card without your approval? Did they side with her because she is a bigger buyer? I have never written a review of anything before but this episode was very stressful. Beware of eBay. They can do whatever they want and you as the customer have no recourse.

I sold a customer a 9" TV with a DVD player. I shipped it from Mega Goods, a drop ship supplier in California. I am in Ohio. Had a 14-day cash refund policy and a one year warranty by the manufacturer. After 18 days, I received an email that the TV was broken and wanted a refund. I said it was past the deadline, but he could return it for a new one to the manufacturer. Then 30 days later, he filed a complaint at the resolution center. I, of course, cited my return policy and escalated the complaint. Within hours, I was ruled against and they were having it shipped to Ohio even though I had an RMA to return it to California. Needless to say, the buyer called me a jerk for not taking back a broken TV (my first negative rating, 364 good ones).

When the TV arrived, the TV was fine and worked. I called the resolution center and told them. Even though he blatantly lied, they would not remove the feedback. Now I have to refund him and pay $18 to send it to California. So I'll lose $145 plus $18, plus a negative feedback from a jerk. eBay is useless - a dinosaur that needs to become extinct. Now my score was not perfect but in most cases not my fault. Customers not reading listings on items descriptions (it stated flexible wire, they said not as described because it's made of wire and flimsy and so on, you get my point) or not reading handling times (updated daily with embedded banner in listing showing delays due to pregnancy) and thanks to USPS for not keeping the proper delivery times. But I was still on top of ratings. My items were very popular and I was making over $1,500/ month (my family's primary income). I went into labor and still updated my handling times informing customers.

My plan was to make my jewelry while in the hospital but due to internal bleeding, I was instructed to lay still and do nothing. I was in the hospital 6 days. During this time, I made over 60 orders (items in listing stated made on demand as I cannot afford to stock up not knowing what people will buy). Out of these 60 orders, 9 complained of shipping times. eBay banned my account halting my income. I called them and they said I could get my account back by faxing them my hospital records, my son's birth certificate, a statement and a few other things.

I said I would do that (not happy I had to give out such personal info about my son and giving birth in detail records!). I just had to wait another week so I could pick up my son's birth certificate as it was not yet available and they would not take the hospital printout. Once I got it, I called them letting them know I was ready to appeal and it was then that I was told I did not have the right to appeal even though my appeal fit their guidelines! They would not give any reason why and said I would never be able to sell again but I could still buy.

My husband said he would buy my jewelry from me at a wholesale price and sell my stuff and same with his friend. I am not sure how they found out about my brand of jewelry but since they were selling my jewelry even though I am not selling it, their accounts were banned. They both called and eBay told them that any of my brand is not allowed to be sold on eBay with no given reason but that they were associating with me. So if you who never met me came across my website, bought and resold on eBay, you would be also banned for life!

I make jewelry, simple jewelry, and others sell similar pieces like mine so it's not the jewelry itself. It's my brand and me ... What the hell did I ever do wrong to eBay for them to be some vindictive? I always followed the rules (there was a viro incident a year before where we were selling toys; I guess only Toys R Us could sell but there is no info on what items have viro contracts and I was stuck with 1000 toys!) and never had been in trouble. So what is going on?! And Bonanza owned by eBay will let me list but if you search for my brand, you will never find it. Who did I piss off so high up the food chain and what did I do?

I am just a regular eBay buyer. I purchased an item from this so-called powerseller from ebay, suikit1005, who's a Hermes reseller. When I received the item, it's open and clearly used! I am very upset and left a negative feedback which is not brand new, clearly used, not as described, untrustful seller. The feedback was there for about 5 days and then suddenly, it's removed without any notification. After I found out, I called eBay. The feedback specialist and his manager both thought my feedback has no problem and they reposted my feedback. They said it's impossible to happen. It must have been technical error. They said they are not sure why it's removed and it doesn't have any note nor who removed it.

After the negative feedback was posted back, I had a feeling it would be removed again, and yes, it's removed again within 12 hours. Then I called again and eBay said the same thing and said they would investigate and called me back in 24-48 hours. (I know this is not going to happen after reading other reviews about eBay). I am right. I waited 3 days and nothing happened. I called eBay again and they said the person who has higher authority has removed it. They have more power than we do and there's nothing we can do. I said I only want to find out why my honest feedback was removed without any reason. Did I go against eBay policy? If so, please tell me which particular policy I have gone against? The policy is black and white written on eBay's website, so please tell me. Their answer is they really don't know why it's removed. My feedback has no problem. But once it's removed, it's removed.

Does that mean, even if you see seller has 100% positive feedback, there are still negative feedbacks that are hidden? My feedback has been removed twice in 12 hours. So how safe is buying on eBay? How to avoid buying fake or replica items especially fake Hermes Birkin which is famous on eBay? They always request to use wire transfer for large amount purchase which is over PayPal's $10,000 limit. What warranty do you use? Does that mean eBay can remove any feedback as they like? So what does the policy do? Why do they still need to state policy on their website? I have been thinking about it and can't think of any reason. I think the whole thing is very suspicious. I truly believe someone who works for eBay has special relationship with this particular seller.

eBay is a public company and I can't believe they can do whatever they want without following their policy. So how safe and fair is using eBay to buy and sell? Everyone knows eBay is a monopoly, what can we do? No matter what, I will make sure the world knows about what happened to me on eBay. eBay is not willing to help victims. That's fine. At least, the world should know about this.

I bought a used automotive GPS unit on eBay. I couldn't get it to work right upon arrival because it was sent with an incompatible charger cord and needed updating. I then learned that the item was possibly stolen. I called eBay and their rep would only suggest contacting the seller to try working out the problems. I knew that couldn't be right but couldn't find eBay's policy on stolen goods from searching the eBay site. I found eBay's customer service reps to be inconsistent from one to another. I finally found eBay's page on stolen items using Google. I then followed eBay's stated policy that included contacting the police. Eventually the police confirmed that the GPS was stolen and had located the rightful owner and said I had to send the GPS to the owner. The police refused to have anything to do with taking custody of the GPS or sending it to the rightful owner themselves.

I called eBay. eBay refunded my original purchase price and shipping and reluctantly agreed to cover the shipping from me to the rightful owner, but they sent me a paid shipping label with the sellers address on it. I called eBay about that problem and they refused to correct it. Then eBay sent me an email stating that they realized that they had promised me shipping to the rightful owner and would cover the shipping if I would respond to that email. I have replied to that email several times. eBay never replied and never provided the promised shipping. It took a lot of hours dealing with all of the hassle from what should have been a simple purchase, plus it cost me to send the GPS to the rightful owner because I followed eBay's stated policy. eBay deserves negative stars for the unfair way they treated me. I'd much prefer dealing with a company that follows ethical business practices instead of eBay, even if the price is considerably higher. Beware when using eBay. My experience shows that their word is no good.

I started selling on eBay in November 2011. I had 100% positive feedback. My account was banned on January 2, 2013 after 500+ transactions because 6 (count 'em), 6 people left me a 1- or 2-star rating. I was put on probation in October after falling below standard in my seller rating after a woman, who never contacted me to let me know she was unhappy, left me a neutral about a piece of glass and left me the dreaded 1-star rating about it. I listed like crazy to up my positive feedback and get above board. I get my 1.43% down to 1.17%. I am this close to correcting my below standard rating.

Lo and behold, I sent a 20-pound box from Massachusetts to Indiana. I have printed out a label that says 16 pounds. Because I double boxed it, the weight went up significantly. I paid a $2.29 overage at the post office for the extra weight and they slapped a sticker on it. The woman messaged me a few days later complaining why I charged $15.35 when it only cost me $2.29 to ship the box. I looked around for the candid camera because surely this can't be for real. If she believes this, then she is dumber than a box of rocks. I sent her pictures of the receipt for the original shipping label, and the receipt for the $2.29 overage.

Two days later, she left me a neutral, now claiming that the toys I sent were dirty and that I only paid $2.29 for shipping and charged her $15. This would be comical because it is so stupid. But then eBay drops my seller rating back to 1.43%. On December 20th, they reviewed my account. Not a word was said. I listed some auctions, sent the stuff, listed another batch and then a few days ago, I logged into my account and saw an MC99 or whatever stupid code they used for these messages saying that they've cancelled my auctions and now I am not allowed to sell on eBay indefinitely because I violated their seller performance policies. Ironic, since my ban, three people have left me positives. Ugh. I called customer service (and I use this term loosely) and got a canned scripted response from what I assume was a foreign outsource.

At first, she told me to sell more to get more ratings. I said "That'd be some feat, because I am not allowed to sell anymore!" She puts me on hold for eternity, then returns and basically says sorry, too bad. I have had enough. I just hang up on her. They jump to steal money out of your PayPal account when a buyer who hasn't read a description has a ridiculous obviously false claim that they can see when they read through your message box. But when a seller has an issue with a stupid or nutty buyer? Too bad.

My policy rating was considered high and indicates "Because you have no severe policy violations, you are not at risk of eBay taking action against your account or listings." I have this documented from eBay from my Seller Dashboard. eBay surprisingly suspended my account indefinitely. They claimed that I filed too many eBay Buyer Protection cases. I purchase and sell many things on eBay. On the items I buy, I have come across quite a few items that were either damaged or misrepresented. When the seller would refuse to allow me to return the item at my expense and issue me a refund, I would file a case.

For some reason, I am penalized for filing these cases. It's not very fair to someone who has an excellent compliance rating. I called eBay to appeal this suspension, but it got me nowhere. I was actually quoted that my account was suspended because of my buying behavior. Apparently, people can sell items not as advertised, and the buyer either has to live with it or risk their account getting suspended. I bought one of these ultrasonic devices which are made in China to give as a gift. Now I question if they really emit the RF in MHz like they claim to do. 1 MHz frequency is so high that it cannot be detected or heard by the human ear. Yet, I can hear this device vibrate. 1 MHz should have a penetration depth of 4 cm. It should be able to show a slight vibration through thin glass to water, and it should be able to disperse oil in water with its frequency. This device does not. There is an egg yoke test that can be done as well. These are little visual tests that can prove or disprove an RF device emits something. Has anyone tested these devices themselves? It will take some searching for me to hunt down someone with an oscillator - which can measure what it emits.

After receiving the device, I started asking questions of the seller "Greatglobal". They got evasive in answering them. Their brochure is a joke! I asked for data to back up their claims and got nothing. Once I brought up getting a refund, they stopped communicating. They changed my eBay feedback to private at that point! If I send it back, I doubt they will credit my account. I went to a friend who has a valid RF generator to compare. 1 MHz frequency vibration on his machine is not detectable by touch or ear, but lower frequencies are.

I put faith in that they are valid devices since so many of these devices are being sold on eBay. I think many of them are shams/frauds and they are flooding the market with them! There are many more sellers from Hong Kong and China selling devices like the one I bought on eBay. Many have accounts less than a year old.

Ask for testing results. Ask for certification. Ask about how many applications it should take to see results. Ask for data to support their claims. Ask for manufacturer's name. Ask for warranty. Ask and get answers before you commit to buying these devices! If they do not answer specific questions like these, then report them! There is a "Report" button on their eBay listing for doing that. It is hard to say if reporting them to eBay does anything.

I have mailed Bill Me Later a personal check for the total balance of all 5 of my purchases totaling $100.75 dated December 10, 2012 to PO Box 105658 Atlanta Georgia 30348 -5658. My first purchase was on 11/28/2012 and I have made 4 other purchases, all items received in excellent condition. As of today, December 11, 2012, thirteen days later after my first purchase, I find myself concerned by the practice of eBay of switching my purchase payment method to Bill Me Later constantly. I consider this very unethical and frankly I am hesitant to continue any further dealings with eBay for this reason.

I ordered a coat from a seller in London. The coat took 15 days to come to me as described in the description for shipping. I tracked the coat with the tracking number that the seller gave me and found out that the USPS attempted to deliver it. My address where I receive the things I buy from eBay are shopped to my address on fill, which I never change which is a P.O. Box with the area code 10474. I, thinking my item was at the post office, arrived there at the USPS. My P.O. Box was empty. I then went to the representative at the USPS, I gave her the tracking number of my item that was supposed to come to me. She said it's not here. She told me it's in another post office. She told me it was sent to the 10473 post office.

I asked her if it was going to come to this post office. She said no. They don't know the right address to send it to. So I then left and found the other post office on my GPS. Then I went in and asked the representatives there if my package was there after giving my tracking number for the item. They told me it wasn't there because it had the wrong address on it, so it was shipped back to the sender. I then called USPS headquarters to see if I or the holder can call to have it held at a nearby post office or something. The USPS headquarters representatives said no. I then contacted the seller for a refund since they put the wrong zip code on it. They said as soon as they receive it back. I said okay. It's been a while now and the seller should have gotten the item by now. So I opened a claim with eBay for a refund. They denied my claim in favor of the seller and said that I will not get a refund back. I filed for appeal, they denied it too.

I'm now without a coat and without my money. I called eBay and spoke to 4 different people. One said they didn't know where the package was and that I could not get a refund because I never picked up the item. I looked at my post office and another one which was the one the seller put on the item. I attempted twice to get the item. EBay didn't care their decision remained the same. I spoke to the supervisor and she lied to me and said it was shipped to the right shipping address and she was looking at the USPS tracking site. She lied. I checked the site again and it says it was shipped to a different one, a made up one, 19473 (or mistyped one). I told her I attempted to pick it up twice and she said there's nothing eBay can do for me now. She didn't care I never received the coat or didn't have my money back. She told me the package was sitting in the ISC USPS in New York and it was my fault because I didn't pick up my package. The seller and the main supervisor lied.

I decided to send the case to the resolution center believing that they would rule in my favor. Wrong! Within one hour of filing my complaint, they sent me an email stating that they ruled in favor of the buyer! They gave me no explanation as to why they ruled this way! I asked the person at the resolution center what happens if this customer returns a different item than what l sent? Or what happens if it's returned damaged? This idiot told me that l should contact the police. I was told that eBay won't be able to help me! eBay is nothing but a scam! My selling days at eBay is coming to a complete end!

I sell on eBay and am a top seller. I also occasionally buy. I found a seller who was selling items I really loved at a good price. The only problem was it would take sometimes a week or two for them to mail items. Very slow. I would give them 5 stars on everything; but shipping, I would give them a 2 generally. I did keep buying from them because all else was good. I had hoped that by giving honest feedback, they would improve their customer experience. Next thing I know, I got a note from eBay saying my buyer protection is suspended for everything I purchase and I can no longer purchase anything for 30 days because I gave someone low star rating. **. I did not give them negative feedback and I was not that disgruntled - only wished they were a little quicker with the mail service.

But get this, eBay says, "We do hope you stay with us and keep selling." Oh I see. Anything I buy, I no longer have an eBay protection! I have called customer service at least 10 times and you cannot even reason with them. They just say, "We will put in an appeal" and never do. I do not see how they even get away with all this. It seems there should be some kind of ethical standards for them to abide by!

I sold an iPad 2 on eBay. I had 5-paragraph description describing an issue with the Wi-Fi and a cracked screen. I included 3 pictures of the screen. Buyer emailed me when I received that they did not read the description and wanted a refund. Then subsequently, he left negative feedback and opened a case. I responded to the case within an hour. I called eBay 2 days later and was assured that item was clearly described and I would win. Six days passed and the seller still did not respond, so I called again. I was instructed to escalate case and it would be reviewed in my favor, that the buyer was just wrong. Two hours later, I received an email that the buyer won the case!

I called back and after being bounced around, I got a nice rep on the phone that stated, "I honestly don't understand why you lost this case. This item was overly described and the seller clearly is having buyer's remorse. Unfortunately at times, there are errors on our end when decision cases and this appears to be one of them. At this point, you must refund the seller the fee when you receive the iPad back. For your trouble, I will make sure you receive back the $9.99 shipping and the final value credit." I am amazed! Lesson to take away, always get the names of the reps you are speaking to, be careful when selling Apple products, and know that there is a 99% chance that if a case is opened, right or wrong, it will be found in the buyer's favor.

I sold a necklace on eBay on October 24th, 2012 for $1000. The buyer received it and complained that the weight of the necklace is not as described. He started a return process on eBay a few days later. I went to pick up the returned package from the Post Office and I found 2 stud earrings worth 50 cents at the most! I immediately reported the buyer to eBay for not returning the original item. After a few days, I noticed my PayPal account was negative so I had contacted eBay and I was told that they made the decision to refund the buyer!

I was petrified, not just because I was out of my merchandise and the money but because they rewarded a thief! Of course my first question was "What did you base your decision on?" Obviously, it's not on the fact that I have been selling on eBay for more than 4 years with over 1000 feedbacks and a top-rated seller scored at 99.8% against a buyer with 90 feedbacks! I have sold thousands of items, accepted returns and issued refunds as needed. I am a very customer service-oriented seller as my feedback shows!

After talking to Crystal ** at the Resolution Center, High Value Department, I was told that eBay agrees with my position and she would start my appeal process. The next day, my PayPal account was positive so I had a good feeling about being safe to be a seller on eBay again! Too soon! A couple of days later, I've received another email from Crystal with some apology on how she made a mistake and I was not qualified to start an appeal. I have no idea why! I've spent all my mornings, before going to work, on trying to talk to somebody in Resolution Center (Crystal is unreachable since) to get a reason on why all this was happening and to make sense on why eBay would decide to refund $1000 to someone without any investigation! The necklace is my merchandise and because I did not receive it back, I am not giving the scam artist buyer a refund! If eBay wants to take a different decision and issue the refund anyway they need to do so from their pocket, not mine!

I have been selling on eBay since 2006. Though I took a few years off, I came back selling iPods as before. I then decided to try computers and have done fairly well; though eBay makes more money than I do per sale. Recently I sold an HP Envy 14 series, which the buyer stole the motherboard out of it and replaced with his; which would not charge the battery. I then checked the serial number in the bios and saw it had changed. I submitted a complaint against the buyer, which eBay did nothing. I then was told by customer support to hold off on refunding this clown and play with him to see if he would accept responsibility, like that was going to happen.

After 2 weeks, I issued a partial refund minus the cost of a used motherboard and my time to install it. He then was allowed to open a case and they gave him all his money back, plus shipping. I then was mad as a wet hen and filed an appeal; in which they never emailed me with any information as to how long it would take or how long I had to submit any evidence. I even called them within the 10-day period and explained I had a lot come up and could not get all the evidence together, yet the person never said I could get an extension. So the 10 days ran out, which I was also unaware of. Totally incompetent from start to finish. Then they also charged me $26.00 for selling the item and to date, have kept my money for services not rendered.

They have to be the absolute worst company ever as they reward people for stealing and penalize the seller for being honest. They basically are calling me a liar, even though I have an almost perfect record and sell nothing but excellent running PCs. I am now looking to sell out and leave this headache behind as I am tired of working for free for people to get free PC parts.

I sold a Slacker G2 radio on eBay on October 3rd, 2012. The buyer paid on November 2nd and I shipped it immediately after receiving payment. This item was new and working. The buyer received the item on November 5th and left feedback November 17th. He had the item for 23 days and left positive feedback. When the buyer contacted me, he used foul language in his eBay message demanding a refund. I tried asking the buyer if I could help him to get the item working and he continued to swear at me using the “f” word in the eBay message.

I went to slacker.com which is the support website for this item. A support technician told me that the only way to damage the item and cause it not to reboot would be to have a corrupted file downloaded onto it - the buyer stated he used the item 3 times and it all of a sudden just stopped working. The item was mishandled or not used properly and I am being penalized and having to refund for misuse of the item. The buyer violated eBay policies by swearing at me in an eBay message and abusing the NSAD dispute. This item was not grossly misrepresented, the buyer stated it worked, he used it for 3 weeks and it suddenly stopped working. New items don’t just stop working unless they are not being used properly. If this item was not significantly as described, it would not have taken 3 weeks after he already stated in feedback, great item, for it to suddenly be not as described. He broke it and now wants a refund, which eBay has so quickly given.

The buyer shipped the item back and it was totally unusable. I cannot resell it and now have to throw it away. This buyer got full use of my item, his money back and was allowed to break eBay policies by swearing at me through their messaging system. I filed a complaint against him for violating the acceptable use policy, the NSAD policy and the member-to-member contact policy. Ebay obviously does not follow these policies as this buyer is still a registered user and still allowed to purchase items even after using profanity and breaking rules. I am appalled that eBay can just fund a buyer with (2) feedbacks and just take his word for it over a seasoned seller with 100% positive feedbacks as a seller since 2007. They found in the buyer’s favor within 3 hours after he filed the claim and on a Sunday evening to boot and without further researching. Their Buyer Protection policy obviously allows buyers to scam their way into getting refunds. Ninety-nine percent of buyers who have an issue with an item contact the seller immediately upon receipt, expressing their concerns. The other 1% obviously wait, use the item for 3 weeks, claim it is not as described and immediately get a refund.

I will pay my fees, close my seller account and tell everyone I know about this assinine policy of yours because obviously it’s a buyers’ market and eBay sticks it to the sellers by allowing this nonsense to happen. I currently have 25 auctions running and when they end, I am all done with scambay.

I called them and they said an email had been sent to me explaining why. That was the one that said I could be a security risk. They have put a black mark on my good name and steadfastly refuse to say why. I will never do business with them again and will encourage anyone who will listen to do likewise. Their sellers are up in arms with their policies and arbitrary decisions with no avenue of recourse. Their PayPal unit on the other hand I can only say good things about with the exception that they hold your money for too long. I do not think the turnaround attempt now being made within eBay will be successful because they keep shooting themselves in the foot.

The employee told me I had to obtain a new e-mail address in order to set up an account. I know that people have other e-mail addresses, but it would seem easier (for me anyway) to have eBay clean up these records rather than make them unusable. I guess losing customers like me makes no difference in the grand scheme of the millions of current eBay customers. I guess I will find an alternative.

I won two different bids on eBay and did not receive either item. I should have known that eBay would support their sellers, since they are only paid by the seller when a sale is made. It doesn't matter if the buyer ever receives the item. It only matters if they (eBay) get their commission. I lost a lot of money because of this mindset, and I strongly encourage other buyers not to use this auction site. They do not do a background check on their sellers, so you'll never know if they are selling an item or items that they don't have in hand. This happened to me and it could happen to you. Specifically, do not place bids on Pandora items via eBay. You will not receive your item.

Never ever buy anything based on the seller's rating. Both sellers had a 99% rating. However, they were rated on items that were not Pandora. I could take a picture of an item that I have in my possession that I never intend to ship or intend to sell to two different people on two different auction sites, post it on eBay for free and when the auction is over, pay eBay a minimal percentage of the sale price and make a profit. Then I could take a picture of a USPS delivery confirmation number and tell one of the buyers that it was shipped and confirmed. Ebay will side with the seller since the seller took a picture of the USPS delivery confirmation number.

What a scam! I will never ever use eBay again because they do not know if their sellers are thieves. Some are and some are not. You'll never know until it happens to you.

They were supposed to arrive by Aug. 17th but never did, so I contacted the seller via eBay. I told him I needed the phones immediately and would have to get them elsewhere. I did not want his product anymore. He was apologetic, asked me not to give negative feedback and that they would make good on the sale. He said all I had to do was refuse the package. The phones were dropped at my door when I wasn't home on Sept. 5th. My mother brought them to the post office and refused the shipment. The seller was so apologetic about the whole thing (delivered so late, we had to buy other phones) that he said he would reimburse 50% on the spot. He also told us he opened a file with eBay and PayPal about the whole issue. We figured it would be easily settled and taken care of.

They kept delaying putting in the money, would ask in multiple emails "Is this the right PayPal name?" and other things. Email replies became more spaced out and answered every 3-4 days instead of right away. I kept asking them to update me about receiving the phone back. They were very polite, apologetic, and told me not to worry, the phone would arrive to them soon and they would reimburse. Fast forward to November. They never actually opened a file with eBay or PayPal. (It is now too late for us to open a claim of our own, or even to post feedback.) They never reimbursed us any of the money (over $250). They have stopped replying to our emails. Do not buy from Bestpricephones10!

As a seller, I strive to make sure that my buyers are completely happy. Yesterday, I received a red flag email from eBay stating that I may have been manipulating tracking numbers to possibly increase buyer feedback. How is this even possible? When I called them, I ended up talking to four representatives in Asia who couldn’t care less. As I was talking to them, my account was suspended, even from buying! I was told that I had inserted tracking numbers on multiple items.

I explained that I had mailed seven items to the same buyer in one priority mailbox and thought it was my responsibility to enter the same tracking number on the other six items. Beware sellers - nothing you do will ever satisfy eBay and they will look for any reason to shut you down, even with a 100% positive feedback. Evidently, all they care about is big sellers even though they may have dubious feedback. I seriously doubt I will ever do business with eBay again. For eBay to do this on the biggest shopping weekend of the year, causing me to lose bids and sold items, is unconscionable. I do intend to write them a letter at their corporate headquarters, and I hope their heads spin!

In Oct 2012, I listed a beaded blouse for auction. The winning Buyer was in Kuwait. She did not pay for the item until 9 days after she won the auction. Total price was USD $6.49 and she paid USD $7.00 shipping. We communicated via email 4-5 times and I specifically stated that USPS International cannot be tracked once it leaves the US. In effort to expedite, I sent item USPS Priority International on 10/23/2012 and in so doing, paid USD $36.00 to ship.

Buyer filed complaint with eBay one month after being advised that package was shipped. She did not advise me that it was allegedly not received until after she filed the complaint. She also told eBay that I did not reply to her email. I offered to send eBay the email communications we had as well as the receipt confirming that I did in fact send item when I said I did. Before hearing my "side", eBay reimbursed the buyer and now demands the money from me when I did not agree to reimburse anything. I made a good faith effort and do not agree that I should be held liable when the package left my hands. eBay buyers (myself included when I have bought) always have the option of requesting, and paying for, UPS.

eBay did not hear my side, and did not accept my documents just because someone said, "I did not get it," and refunded her money without me having a say. That is clearly a flaw in their system. I am out of designer beaded blouse, the money the buyer sent and the extra $20.00 I paid to ship. I have been with eBay since 2004, and have shipped and purchased from outside the US. No one has ever claimed that they did not receive whatever was sent. I question whether the buyer was being honest in claiming a month later that she did not get it.

However, I could only get a refund if "I" paid the return shipping, to India, at a cost of almost $40! I provided copy of pre-bid listing and post-bid (with no speaker clause added) and details as I had sent to the seller (who 3 weeks later, has yet to respond to me).

eBay made threats of an "unpaid item" on my account (even after the seller, according to the notice from eBay, "igotasuperdeal has canceled the transaction, and you're no longer entitled to receive the item". So now, the seller has "cancelled the transaction", I am not entitled to receive the item and the threat is I have an "unpaid item" on my "record", which I can neither pay for or receive. EBay wrote today and I quote, "eBay Customer Support has reviewed the case and made a final decision. We've considered the case carefully and decided not to issue you a refund. We're sorry this didn't work out. Decision: This case has been decided in the seller's favor." And I responded: I never asked for a refund, doesn't anyone read? How can you "consider and decide" a case without even reading or understanding the facts.

I also added that since I was retired and had plenty of time on my hands. Their threat was baseless but having made them, I planned to seek out every forum and entity to at least inform the public and authorities and seek whatever satisfaction (I suspect there is no other remedy to a nameless/faceless bunch) I could if it was only to inform the public what could really happen to them (so glad I never bid on an item on eBay motors. I am just a regular stay at home non-working mother trying to make a few extra bucks for the holidays. After making a few purchases that went well on eBay, I decided to sell some items that I had not used in quite some time. Two instances I had sellers say they didn't get what was described. One crazy woman is stating the ring I sent her had a bent band. My pictures on eBay showed the ring on top of a quarter and proved the band was round. Then she tried to lie saying that I misrepresented the diamond size. My description was pretty clear when I said I was guessing it to be approximately 1/4ct. She said the diamond size was on the band and it was .19ct which is untrue; that was the 14kt gold she saw. The truth of that matter was she didn't ask any questions and had buyer’s remorse and instead of admitting it, she blamed me. I told her I'll submit a refund when my ring is back in my hand. If she sends me a different ring, no deal.

The 2nd incident just happened today - a Seth Thomas clock that has been in our family for over 40 years. My husband helped pack it. It was intact with key, pendulum everything - it just didn't run. Buyer gets it Saturday, delivered to the University of Missouri, and tells me today that the pendulum, key and glass that goes over the pendulum box was missing and was not in the packing. No glass, no evidence it was ever there. This guy was so lying. My husband helped me pack it, my pictures showed the pendulum and a close up of the glass. I did not take a picture of the key, but I did use it to try to wind the clock while it was up for auction. Now this guy wanted to send me back my clock, raped of its important parts. We all know he was taking those parts to restore another clock. There is no possible way those items could just become dislodged (as the pendulum and glass were securely attached to the clock) and then mysteriously slipped out of the box during shipping.

Now he wanted me to send him the insurance receipt without confirming he will not take the insurance and ask Paypal for a refund. This guy who I find is an IT guy at the University of Missouri is a lying cheat and people like him should be ashamed of themselves. I don't know if he is using this experience as a classroom example or what, but I am heartbroken. I was hoping my family heirloom would have gone to an honest person who would love it and restore it to its former glory. The ring, I don't care as much because it was an engagement ring given to me years ago by a boyfriend so there is no emotional attachment. I expected to hear the clock face glass did not make shipping. That I can believe. But telling me major components were missing when they were there when I packed it carefully in the box, I ain't buying it.

Where is seller protection? My husband says Paypal can just go in and take the money without the buyer even sending the item back to you and I find that to be flat out stealing. After this situation is resolved, I am done with eBay. It's unfortunate two dishonest people can ruin such a great thing for someone else. Now I am sick to my stomach wondering what kind of creep has my dead mother's clock.

I'm attaching three pictures - one, of the ring against the quarter showing the round unbent band, the other 2, of the clock with the pendulum and pendulum box glass attached.

Ebay does not know how to evaluate a seller; yet, they admit it themselves when I've spoken to them. I've sent letters to the president again without response. My feedback is stellar and eBay still finds a way to keep my performance low, absolutely no need for this. There are various customers. I don't know who are and are not told, who send some sort of feedback that affects me over a year. It could just be one complaint, arbitrary also. Ebay does not evaluate seller's properly at all and it's frankly appalling! I wish your company would obviously contact eBay about all the negative feedback regarding seller practices at eBay. It is way below standard in terms of how sellers are treated!

Several months ago, I had eBay cancel my listing and stated I would not be allowed to sell ever again. They kindly did not close my store and since I was not aware of this, they continue to charge me the monthly fee. When I called them on it, they stated ever so kindly, "too bad that was my responsibility." When I asked eBay to close my account out, they said they cannot and will not; that if they did, I might open a new account and start selling again. When I assured them I would not, I was told that there is nothing they can do, that my account would remain open forever! This is insane. I do not want an open account with them. If they are concerned about me reopening an account and selling again, then they should put procedures in place that would prevent that from happening. I feel that as a consumer, I have every right to close one of my accounts out and not have my information on the web forever. What kind of system is this?

eBay and PayPal have a profitable scam. They force you to use PayPal when you buy or sell an item. eBay charges a fee to the seller based on the selling price of the item plus the cost of the shipping. PayPal then tacks on a fee for being the middle man in the transaction. PayPal then holds the funds due the seller for 21 days. PayPal uses every excuse possible to delay sending you your money. I will never again use eBay or PayPal, and I would recommend others to do likewise.

Now get this, they keep telling me if I don't change my listings, I may lose my top rated seller status. I earned the status all by myself. I take great pics, give accurate details, pack very secure and refund if anyone overpays on shipping. I have a 100% feedback of 658. Now to threaten me with taking it away, like whoopee I will cry, are they nuts? I earned it and they want to change me to be one of their mindless eBay cyborgs just to keep my little badge?

They leave nothing alone. They are always changing their site, their policies, business practices and all the while making billions and making the consumers that keep them in business miserable. I sure wish they would wake up and smell the coffee. We are tired of taking their dictatorship and paying for it dearly. We are doing them a big favor, but they forgot. Too busy spending the millions they make everyday from us. Heck time they wake up, we will all be gone and so will their stock. There are other auction sites picking up out there. eBid for one. This is very disappointing to me as a seller. According to the eBay, protection is to help the buyer and seller. And me as a seller have not yet received the item back due to a wrong address on my account. Even after eBay gave the new address to the buyer and I personally contacted him and gave him the new address, he has not yet shipped the item. (It's been over two months and the case has been closed. And yet, I haven't gotten my items and according to the tracking number, he has got the package back.) I got in contact with a representative from the eBay protection. His name was Richard **.

I told him my problem and all he said was that eBay can't do anything about it. I told him, "There has to be something you guys can do." And he said, "No, we can." I told him to transfer me to someone that can help me. What he said was, "It doesn't matter if I transfer you to any other representative. They will tell you the same because eBay can't help you with that. You had the wrong address and that's on you." This got me very upset and mad and this was very unprofessional of him. He did transfer me to someone that was in a higher position than him but still no help. I need someone to help me because it is $430 going down the drain. The eBay protection program is for both the seller and buyer and I don't see any protection on the seller at this moment.

I soon learned (from the pet stores and the manufacturers) that the majority (95% or better) were counterfeit coupons. I complained to the sellers and eBay through their Resolution Center. I left negative feedback for the unscrupulous sellers as well. eBay decided that I left 'too many' negative feedbacks, regardless that they were for selling counterfeit coupons, and suspended my account for 10 days. I was the criminal for complaining, not the counterfeit coupon sellers. On any given day, you will find close to 10,000 free coupons on eBay; the majority are known counterfeits on the CIC website. eBay has been facilitating the sale of counterfeit coupons for years. Reported counterfeit coupon sellers continue to sell the same counterfeit coupons over and over again on eBay.

With eBay's changes dealing with postage requirements, they put me out of business! First, they started charging fees on postage. I think this is wrong. Then, they required that I provide tracking for my packages. My buyers don't like having to pay what they consider unnecessary services. I believe if a bidder bids on an item, then they are agreeing with the costs associated with that item. There should not be a postage rating in the detail ratings. So because of these 2 factors, my performance dropped below satisfactory. I have been a good eBay seller for 8 years! It appears eBay is getting rid of the small sellers that made the company! All they want are the big guys! I was told I could still buy on eBay, I just can't sell. I said that if I can't sell, I can't buy! So I am moving to the eBid site.

I've been an eBay seller/buyer for 10+ years with excellent feedback. Recently, eBay changed their website and some policies/procedures. I received notice a few months ago that I am charging too much for shipping (I ship all my items USPS Priority Mail and charge the exact cost to mail the item - sorry, the postal service is getting expensive!) When eBay notified me that my account would be suspended if I did not give "free shipping", I contacted them. I was told to "build the cost of shipping into the item and offer free shipping." This, to me, is ridiculous, as the buyer cannot be that stupid. (By the way, eBay gets a fee based on the percentage of the item's cost, not shipping - hence the reason they'd rather have you build shipping into the cost). Nevertheless, I was told that my account would never be reactivated for selling (only buying, of course) because of my shipping fees.

When I asked eBay to close my account out, they said they cannot and will not; that if they did, I might open a new account and start selling again. I should be a valued eBay and PayPal member. I have 100% feedback rating on eBay, and I've enthusiastically recommended eBay and PayPal to numerous friends and family down through the years. An organization I'm involved with even uses PayPal for donations because I recommended it and set it up for them. This week, all that changed. I've been starting to sell more frequently lately and I now have 23 sales through eBay. I've been under a restriction that when a buyer pays through PayPal, eBay/PayPal holds my funds as pending either for 21 days or until delivery is confirmed, or (supposedly) until the buyer leaves positive feedback. (Reference eBay's posted policy at http:**.)

Well, last week, I sold a big item with a sale price of $999. I offered local pick up as the shipping option, for both me and the buyer's convenience. It eliminated the risk of damage during shipment and eliminated the risk of claims resulting from the same. The buyer was extremely pleased, and so was I. We both left each other prompt positive feedback. But PayPal and eBay wouldn't release my funds because I couldn't provide a tracking number. They told me I'd have to wait for 21 days. Meanwhile, eBay sent me an invoice for their $89 Final Value Fee to hit my checking account before the funds are even scheduled to be released to me through PayPal. Are you kidding me? Why have local pickup as an option if it's going to screw the seller?

Nobody of the seven people I spoke to this week with PayPal and eBay could adequately justify why their actions were completely contrary to their posted policy. However, I finally spoke to someone who was willing to release the funds if they could contact the buyer and confirm that he received the item. Again, if logic ruled supreme, everybody involved would recognize that buyers don't leave positive feedback before they receive an item. If he left positive feedback, he's obviously pleased with the transaction, right? Not to them. They called my buyer twice and left messages asking him to call them back. They didn't tell him what it was about and they didn't give him a number to call them back. I contacted him to explain what was going on, and I had to give him eBay's customer support number and a pass code from their website so he could waste his time calling on my behalf to get them to release the funds.

Then the person he spoke to at eBay said it didn't matter, that they couldn't release my funds anyway until 21 days. Fortunately, even though he did not have to care at all, he pressed and asked to speak to someone at PayPal, and after assuring them he was completely satisfied, they released my funds. This is downright ludicrous. The seller is eBay's frontline customer. Sellers are the ones who pay fees to eBay and PayPal, not the buyers. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had in my life. I am seriously contemplating whether or not I want to cancel my 10-year-in-the-making eBay and PayPal accounts. In one week, they have turned a longtime, hardcore advocate into a disillusioned and very angry customer. Congrats to eBay for sticking to their guns. Great business tactic.

I am the seller. I sold four tires with mounted rims. The buyer paid for the items. The listing is for local pickup. After paying for the items, the customer asked if I would help and ship the items. I searched diligently to see if this was possible. After wasting a lot of my time and monies, I came home to find that the buyer wanted to cancel the order. I called eBay, only to receive the wrong advice. I complied with eBay's confusing and mixed messages. Two of eBay's reps I spoke with told me I am 100% covered by eBay and guaranteed to win the case. eBay then grants me as the winner of the case and states that this was the final decision. The next day with no eBay messages, no personal email message, I find out that my PayPal account is in the negative, on the weekend, no less.

On Monday morning, I called eBay and wanted an explanation. After several hours of excuses, not even a supervisor without first fumbling on what the answer should be, and many times, I was put on hold, then returned to tell me that the case was now ruled in the buyer's favor. It's quite obvious to me. I am still trying to get them to clear the negative balance, the negative feedback the buyer had left, and several phone calls. Several reps from both eBay and PayPal, the supervisors were to call me back. One did from eBay, when I clearly asked his agent to have him call me before 1:00 pm, that at 2:00 pm I had a doctor's appointment and would not be available. So the supervisor calls me at 1:45pm. Not ethical.

After my appointment, I called PayPal. I was on the phone with them for several minutes. They blame eBay, transferred me and I spent another hour and 23 minutes. To make this a little shorter, I was promised that the supervisor would call me at 5:00pm. This was a supervisor that was standing right next to the agent and suddenly went out to lunch and she could not locate him. Another supervisor from eBay, different department, played games with reimbursing me back on fees I did not authorize that was over one hour. I asked that she call me back at 7:00pm, being frustrated and taking away more time from me for nothing. She agreed. No call back. I'm still waiting on the two supervisors. I'm very disappointed. I have most of the individuals' names, if not all, dates, times, conversation we held pertaining to this case. I feel they are misrepresenting eBay sellers. I want my name cleared, the negative balance removed as well as the negative feedback. They are the ones who should be held responsible. Thank you.

I spoke with the eBay customer service rep and they suggested it was because I did not "catalogue" the listing. How can I be assured that my public auction is really hitting the public if I cannot even see my own listing? I cry foul. Something is very fishy about this whole incident. Is it possible that Consumer Affairs can investigate this issue for deceptive trade practices? In the end, I believe my items were sold through a subset of potential buyers instead of all potential buyers because eBay was blocking the viewing process. I was very new to eBay and had to buy all natural cold pressed organic products from them due to my skin sensitivity. I had a wonderful source before, but due to financial difficulties, I made the terrible mistake of trusting eBay. Practically, all their natural product sellers tout their wares as being brand new, which in my book means fresh, just made, etc. I trusted everything the seller wrote on their eBay site because I believed they were supervised by eBay. Lo and behold, after having received many products, I checked the expiration dates and they were not as they should have been on brand new products. I complained to eBay. They opened case after case, and then finally, I realized that the eczema that was rapidly developing for the first time in my life, on my chest, was from the products of two of their sellers who are actually the same person, because I shipped the items back to the same address. All this is on tape to eBay and on my emails to the sellers.

Although I got refunded, I am now taking Sulfa antibiotics for a bacterial infection that has spread to my neck, upper back, and lower back. eBay has removed all my negative feedback about these sellers, and others who shipped me a wrong item they had stopped selling six months previously. Brand new means certain expiration dates for specific natural ingredients. Some sellers were great like Skincare1 who immediately refunded me and sent me a fresh product (Sea Buckthorn oil). eBay will no longer give me buyer protection due to my vast amount of cases about fraudulent sellers. One of them even wrote his Patchouli oil was brand new, and then wrote me it was sitting in his warehouse for a year! I reported the oils that caused me contact dermatitis, and eBay said they would investigate. They did nothing. I got extorted by one of the sellers to remove my feedback or I would not get a refund twice. I complained to eBay. They saw it on the email, and they did nothing, except remove my feedback about that seller. I also have another seller threaten me and eBay immediately refunded me.

After having been removed from the buyer protection plan (not that it really matters, I had already stopped buying from eBay), I called them and told them that if they removed my negative feedback then they should remove my positive feedback. They refused and told me point blank I get too many refunds, and indirectly, not a good cash cow. I replied that I rarely asked for refunds, just fresh products, and disease-free skin. eBay has no supervision over their sellers, and when you buy products that you ingest either orally or through the pores, there must be some kind of supervision. How dare they remove truthful negative feedback when it does not contain profanity or lies? I am furious. Worst ever. I can't get rid of this horrible rash. I pray the antibiotics help. Thank you for your time. By the way, I took pictures of my skin condition with my cell phone.

EBay shut down my mother's account, which is in good standing, fully paid on time, with topnotch feedback and DSRs of 4.8 or 4.9 in all categories. They sent her an email stating that her account was now "limited" which prevents her from selling anything. She had to cancel over a dozen listings that already had bids and would have sold, as well as cancel on 4 people who already won items and were ready to pay. The notice she received states that they will not restore her account until she takes action on her son's account. There is no link or connection between the two accounts other than our last name. My mother's account has been in good standing since 2001. I am not on her account and she is not on my account.

There is no such thing as a joint eBay account other than 2 people who are married, which we are obviously not. You can't just lump a son's, daughter's, sibling's, aunt's, uncle's or any kind of relative's account onto someone that it doesn't belong to. It is highly illegal but that is what eBay did. We have different email addresses, different residences registered to the accounts, different bank accounts and different social security numbers. None of our registration info is the same. The bottom line - we are two different people, not one. My account is not my mother's responsibility, whether we are related or not, whether eBay has a dispute with me or not. I have not used the disputed account in 2 years. Imagine if you disputed a charge at a store like Walmart and then you heard that the manager of the Walmart store refused to allow your mother to enter the store! Two years ago, I had a thriving eBay store with positive feedback of over 1,500 and a good reputation going back to 1997.

In July of 2010, when eBay first implemented the new buyer protection system, I was falsely accused of non-delivery in an item-not-received complaint. However, the buyer of that item had already been given an unpaid item strike. He never paid me in the first place. I was coerced into shipping the product to the buyer anyhow, without being paid. I was shocked that eBay would find in favor of a buyer who never paid, had already been given an unpaid item strike and already had his negative comment removed from my account on the basis of nonpayment, yet I received a notice from eBay stating that they would charge the full amount of that non-paying buyer's bill to my bank card on file! I changed my bank account information to prevent eBay from charging me anything at all and I disputed and appealed the case. It was nearly impossible to get anyone to help. Email messages or messages in the eBay system went unanswered. Online chat went 46 minutes unanswered and then disconnected. The wait over the phone was similar, 20 minutes, half hour, 40 minutes, without reaching anyone.

It was later explained to me by eBay's "resolution" department that they had so many complaints like mine their lines were swamped and unable to answer. So they put a system in that lets customers claim refund money they never paid?! I voided my contract with eBay on the basis that it provided defective service and transferred my listings to another sales site Bonanza where I have been happy and trouble-free ever since. However, eBay has been trying to bill me for 2 months of eBay store fees that occurred after the failure of service and the wrongful dispute that subsequently was never rectified by eBay. Flash forward 2 years and now eBay is harassing my mother and turning off her services as a means of leverage against me, instructing my mother to pay for and attend to an account she is not legally responsible for.

I urged my mom to call them and explain it was her own account, and the account they were trying to "link" to her was not hers and she was not liable for it. So she did call and she responded to the message stating the same. My mom says they told her over the phone to reply to the email message explaining it and wait 72 hours. That is exactly what they had told me 2 years ago that they never followed up on and left my old account in limbo for 2 1/2 months! They have a pattern of doing this, of sweeping their mistakes under the rug, not responding or fixing accounts and I suppose just hoping people will get fed up and go away instead of exercising their consumer rights. I saw my mom's email and I saw that eBay responded telling her to call and handle it over the phone. But when she had called them, they had told her to send a response over email. She is caught in a loop where she can't get anyone to address it. I have complained to the Better Business Bureau and the CA Attorney General's office. What another reviewer remarked about eBay's callous, confrontational attitude is exactly right.

I got a letter from the office of the president at eBay telling me that I did not deserve customer service because I had a bad attitude. It's not a bad attitude. It's disgust for how eBay is violating consumer protection law and no one will take action. They violated consumer protection law against my account in 2010 by neglecting to address my complaint and by not allowing my Right of Refusal under consumer contract law. I have a right to void the contract if the other party does not live up to its advertising and provides me with defective service. That includes the seller protection policies and the eBay store fees, for the entirety of time that the service is defective. I have no obligation to keep paying for or using their services if they are not giving me the customer service described on their website as a reassurance designed to entice me to use their services. It's false advertising. eBay's own services are not as described! They have no right to keep billing me and hunting down my family. What's next? Will they go after my next door neighbor? Or will they look at my Facebook page and start limiting the accounts of my former classmates for being "associated" with me? What kind of mafia extortion policy is eBay running?

They are now violating my mother's consumer rights by refusing her service on the basis of a relative's dispute and demanding that she "take action" (which I assume means both log into and pay) an account that does not belong to her and for which she has absolutely no legal responsibility. I'm 34 years old. Is my poor widowed mother responsible for her adult son's billing dispute? You have to be joking eBay! If this continues and I do see that other people have been negatively affected by the lack of adherence to consumer law and overstepping of eBay's corporate leadership, eBay is going to land back in court just the same as PayPal did in 2005 with a massive class action lawsuit. EBay shut down my relatives' account for being related to me. Ebay shut down my mother's account, which is in good standing, fully paid on time, with top notch feedback and DSRs of 4.8 or 4.9 in all categories.

I am not on her account, and she is not on my account. There is no such thing as a joint eBay account other than 2 people who are married, which we are obviously not. You can't just lump a son's, daughter's, sibling's, aunt's, uncle's, or any kind of relatives account onto someone that it doesn't belong to. It is highly illegal. But that is what eBay did.

We have different email addresses, different residences registered to the accounts, different bank accounts, different social security numbers. None of our registration information is the same. The bottom line: we are two different people, not one. My account is not my mother's responsibility, whether we are related or not, whether eBay has a dispute with me or not. I have not used the disputed account in 2 years. Imagine if you disputed a charge at a store like Walmart, and then you heard that the manager of the Walmart store refused to allow your mother to enter the store!

Two years ago, I had a thriving eBay store with positive feedback over 1,500 and a good reputation going back to 1997.

I was shocked that eBay would find in favor of a buyer who never paid, had already been given an unpaid item strike, and had already had his negative comment removed from my account on the basis of non-payment. Yet I received a notice from eBay stating that they would charge the full amount of that non-paying-buyer's bill to my bank card on file!

I changed my bank account information to prevent eBay from charging me anything at all, and I disputed and appealed the case. It was nearly impossible to get anyone to help. Email messages or messages in the eBay system went unanswered. Online chat went 46 minutes unanswered and then disconnected. The wait over the phone was similar - 20 minutes, half hour, 40 minutes, without reaching anyone. It was later explained to me by eBay's "Resolution" department that they had so many complaints like mine their lines were swamped and unable answer. So they put a system which allows customers to claim refund money they never paid?

I voided my contract with eBay on the basis that it provided defective service, and transferred my listings to another sales site Bonanza where I have been happy and trouble-free ever since. However, eBay has been trying to bill me for 2 months of eBay store fees that occurred after the failure of service and the wrongful dispute that subsequently was never rectified by eBay.

Flash forward 2 years, and now eBay is harassing my mother and turning off her services as a means of leverage against me, instructing my mother to pay for and attend to an account she is not legally responsible for.

I urged my mom to call them and explain that it was her own account, and the account they were trying to "link" to her was not hers and she was not liable for it. So she did call, and she responded to the message stating the same. My mom says they told her over the phone to reply to the email message explaining it and wait 72 hours. That is exactly what they had told me 2 years ago that they never followed up on and left my old account in limbo for 2 1/2 months! They have a pattern of doing this, of sweeping their mistakes under the rug, not responding or fixing accounts, and just hoping that people will get fed up and go away instead of exercising their consumer rights.

I saw my mom's email, and I see that eBay responded telling her to call and handle it over the phone, but when she had called them, they had told her to send a response over email. She is caught in a loop where she can't get anyone to address it. I have complained to the Better Business Bureau and the CA Attorney General's Office. What another reviewer remarked about eBay's callous, confrontational attitude is exactly right: I got a letter from the office of the president at eBay telling me that I did not deserve customer service because I had a "bad attitude."

It's not a bad attitude. It's disgust for how eBay is violating consumer protection law, and no one will take action.

Will they go after my next door neighbor or will they look at my Facebook page and start limiting the accounts of my former classmates for being "associated" with me? What kind of mafia extortion policy is eBay running?

They are now violating my mother's consumer rights by refusing her service on the basis of a relative's dispute and demanding that she "take action" (which I assume means both log into and pay) an account that does not belong to her and for which she has absolutely no legal responsibility for. I'm 34 years old. Is my poor widowed mother responsible for her adult son's billing dispute? You have to be joking, eBay!

I've consulted and worked for some pretty well known companies, including the vampire squid (aka Goldman Sachs at 85 Broad Street; also, Google). I say this because I have a fair amount of observational and direct experience with companies who exceed expectations with their customers and those who take an arrogant/adversarial approach. After my experience last night, I quickly figured out which camp eBay falls into: arrogant and adversarial.

I retired at age 38 and set up an eBay business to help support my girlfriend's horse rescue. Within 4 months we were selling $500-$700 per week with a 25-80% margin which helped pay for grain. As our volume was increasing, I kept getting notifications as we listed new items that I should call eBay to discuss our goals to avoid interruptions (we had a premium store at $50 per month plus selling fees of $250-$400).

I called to discuss and was directed to one of those call center type personalities in the mid-west who from moment one wanted to ensure I knew how powerful he was. He asked me my name, which I gave along with my intern who set up the account. I had tried to take off the intern’s name before with customer service but was unsuccessful. This guy said, “Whoa-whoa, if you're not Harley, I have to verify and find you somewhere on the account.” I said, “Okay, all the shipping, PayPal accounts (you guys own) are all linked to me so that shouldn't be a problem. Also, you should be able to see from call history I have called in before.”

I further explained the main name on the account was an intern who I asked to show my young boys how to sell on eBay as they wanted new iPhones. I told my boys they could have them as long as they learned to work for them/earned it through a business on eBay. To make this long story short, the guy came back on and said minors can't sign their agreement, so they are suspending my account (what a way to try to work through a problem with one of your customers who gives you a job!). The fact is my intern was 25, of which I re-explained that my son was a minor, but the signing was done by the 25-year-old who worked for me. That's how my account was suspended and I had 15 orders waiting to go out of customers who undoubtedly bought from me because I was a top seller with 99% positive feedback. Ebay not only impacted our little business, but also those customers’ orders that were all cancelled because a call center rep hired and trained by eBay likes to try to make other people’s lives as miserable as his.

By the way, I did call back as I know a few wanker-bankers close to eBay leadership. My call reference number is ** because they wouldn't let me speak with a manager. So, I’ll go through the people I do know. The decline and fall of the eBay empire is so deserved - history always repeats itself.

EBay closed my account after a good standing. I asked them why and they told me according to user agreement, they have right to do anything they want. They sent my customer messages that I’m selling replica products. I had positive feedback about what I am selling. They have no evidence about it or a complaint from a customer, so they lied to my customer such as seller selling replica and I have shipped like four items, each one cost me more than $100. So customers opened disputes because eBay accused me without any evidence.

They lied to people in order to destroy my selling profile and blocked me to get my money from customers. They are very nasty people. They think they are God and nobody is able complain because they are eBay! When I asked them to fix this, they told me I cannot even appeal my case and their decision is final. Still, some people are selling this product, this item and these nasty people are letting them sell. I will never sell anything on eBay or never buy anything on eBay. Stay away from eBay.

I was careful to spot and discover sellers' deceitfulness, but many more may not be such lucky. When I called eBay, they cited that my history of occasional leaving feedback prompted them to do so. Of course I leave negative feedback to deceitful sellers. I don't find money on trees.

Well, eBay found the complaint and permanently suspended my seller's account. I called and told them my side of the story and they would not listen to me. She just kept telling me I can't sell anymore but I could continue to buy. No matter what proof I have to back up my product, she would not give me a chance to defend my position.

And then to top off the whole ordeal, they charged me for seller listing fees for items they deleted from my seller's account listed for sale. They charged me $250 for the fees and once again, they would not talk to me about the seller's account. They just kept telling me I could continue to buy. I really hate eBay. They rip off the seller with high fees of about 18% and charge for re-listing items that don't sell the first time even though they say they don't. EBay should be closed down for fraud. They rip off the little guy because they know we can't fight a big company. I am asking for a boycott of eBay.

I sold all but one and on the day I was to ship the second to the last one, I was notified by eBay that the manufacturers are saying it was fake and they also listed all the previous ones that I had already sold. They removed my item, which the buyer had already paid for, causing me to refund their money.

I called eBay and they told me they use some third party company and they said the products were all fake - I told them they were not. I bought them from Shop NBC and I still have the receipts. Why pick mine out of all the pages of Sensa weight loss systems that are for sale on eBay? I found no phone number to this company; I only have to contact them via email and they have 7 days to respond to me.

I am so angry with them. Do they just randomly pick items and call them fake? I have pictures of the items showing the sealed box and the expiration date on the bottom of the box. What more can you do? This is not my first go round with eBay. I home schooled two kids and when I tried to sell their school books last year, they deleted some of those as well stating, "You are only allowed to sell so many of some items until you are verified as a good seller." They were electronics, they were books. Once the rest of my items are sold, I am cancelling my accounts with them and PayPal. They are a bunch of crooks!

Yet eBay allowed Marvelous Customs to advertise and charge buyers for his used merchandise. The seller made me ship the item back at my expense in order for me to get a refund. So, my money was held hostage until I returned his used merchandise. It cost me $61.36 to ship a $107.99 carpet cleaner from the east coast to the west coast. EBay’s customer service refused to understand my complaint and insinuated that it was my fault. In other words, "Screw you."

EBay is a monster company that profits off sellers providing merchandise of any kind and in any condition. Therefore, their full allegiance is to the seller. Their buyer protection is worthless and means nothing. It's meant to give unsuspecting buyers a false sense of security. Sellers are allowed to rip-off buyers because they are ones who are truly protected, not the buyers. They allow sellers to cease communication with buyers who are in need of resolution. EBay is making a mint because they're huge and they know it. But my hope is they will one day reap what they're sowing.

EBay rules does not protect seller at all. Recently, I sold an item on eBay. The buyer wanted to return the item due to change of mind. I already remarked that the item is non-refundable but still I let the buyer return it. The buyer shipped to a wrong address which I couldn’t get my package. EBay automatically refunded the money to the buyer and my package also returned to buyer. I mean that is not fair to me at all. My stuff is worth over hundred dollars. Now there is a chance I may not get it back and also I paid over sea shipping. I refund all my money without my approval.

This is not the 1st time. There was once few years ago when I was new on eBay. I paid double the money to a seller and won’t refund me the money. I contacted eBay and they said there is nothing they can do because the transaction is completed a month ago. Also, there was a buyer who reported me to eBay that he didn’t get my package which I shipped; eBay also automatically refunded my money to the buyer. If only for a few dollars then no big deal, but this time it’s worth a few hundreds.

I contacted customer service, and they said yes, that is how it is on eBay. The buyer did try to return the item, so they can get the refund. I mean no matter if the seller gets the item back or not? What if the item they got back is not the original item sent out? It’s really not fair at all. I put my stuff on eBay to sell because I thought I got protected and faster to sell. Otherwise, why do I pay such high eBay fees? I can just go on other website to sell.

I've been an eBay member for 2 years with absolutely no problems. I mainly buy items but recently started selling. I sold a DVD set that is worth $250.00/16 DVDs for $190 last month. The buyer paid with no problems, until this week when she is claiming the item "isn't as described" and wants a refund or exchange. Well, there is no replacement; it was from my personal DVD collection. And I checked out the DVDs before I mailed them, and the whole set is in like new condition. The buyer is now stating it's only in "very good to good" condition and wants a refund. She claims there are scuffs/scratches on the discs which I know weren't there when I mailed them to her. She is blatantly lying. And when I sell any DVD on eBay, I always check "No Refunds" on the listing.

I came to find out yesterday after telling the buyer twice there is no replacement and I stated no refunds on the listing that she filed a case to get a refund. eBay then put a hold on my account, and PayPal is holding my payments from other buyers. I talked to 3 eBay reps and 2 PayPal reps who told me I have to wait 3 days to see if I have to refund the buyer's money. I said I will not refund any money on DVDs because I checked "No Refunds" on the listing and people watch the DVDs and then try to return them for a refund. I told eBay I thought when I checked "No Refunds" on the listing it means "No Refunds." According to eBay, all sellers have to give refunds even if you check "No Refunds." I found out eBay doesn't protect the sellers at all and I am being scammed by this woman but no one will help me.

So, I deleted all my items on sale from my eBay account, so they can't take that money away from me and will be canceling both my eBay and PayPal accounts if they rule in favor of the buyer. I'm going to freeze my bank account tomorrow or get a new bank account, so they have no access to my account anymore as well. This is such a shame. I really had no problems at all with eBay or PayPal until this incident. But I guess sooner or later, I'd get scammed by someone.

What I'm most appalled by is how eBay doesn't stick by the sellers. Sellers have no protection at all at eBay. I didn't take 16 separate photos of each of the 16 DVDs in the set, so I have no proof what condition they were in when I mailed them. So I'm screwed. I used the $190.00 to pay my rent this week, so there is no money in my account luckily that PayPal could pull out. But eBay did hold $50.00 from the last item I sold.

I'm angry, disgusted, and terrified how PayPal/eBay have control of the money in my bank account. I'm even more disgusted in the way I'm being treated. Don't get involved with eBay or PayPal. Sooner or later, you'll get scammed by someone and you'll lose. I guarantee it. eBay's "No Refund" policy is a sham, and there's no protection for sellers.

Selling one item ended up costing me not only the $4.33, but because the buyer returned the item, it cost me $23.00 (shipping cost) to try and sell the one item. The eBay user agreement has a provision that a person can keep more than one account also their link person can buy an item from seller but they cannot bid or leave feedback and no one linked to me left feedback. Also, I listed my items as Fixed Buy It Now price so no one can bid on my listing too. I paid for all my purchases so what was out of the rule? Why did they suspend my account and not consider my poor condition and my huge loss?

I won a bid on a MacBook computer on eBay. When it arrived, it was wrapped in paper towels and the cover of the laptop looked and smelled as if it had been literally spray painted. The packaging (i.e., paper towels were literally stuck to the cover). The seller had a return policy, so I messaged him telling him the problem and saying that I would return the laptop at my cost for a full refund. He began a series of messages back to me telling me how happy I should be with the laptop, that he had sold it at a very good price to me, that he had thrown in some triple-A batteries that were not included in the bid, that he had "customized" the cover, etc. I replied that the computer had a horrible stench and that I was returning it. He said I must get shipping insurance and give him the information. Well, I went to the UPS shipping store and paid $25.00 to ship the laptop back with full insurance.

A week went by and I messaged him about the refund. He said he hadn't received it. I sent him the UPS tracking info that said it had been delivered. He next replied that the screen was broken! I called my UPS store to file a claim and the manager said he had never had a claim for a broken laptop in ten years. He said they package them so well and it never occurs. I called eBay to complain and was told that my case was on hold until mid July. I told them that I had returned the laptop at my cost and the seller now had the laptop and my $400.00. They said I must wait 2 weeks and they will make a decision.

I am very irate at the situation as I have spent thousands of dollars on eBay. I have 100% feedback with 269 transactions. I have never had a complaint. Well, eBay could have cared less. Their customer service and eBay Buyer Protection Program are worthless! The least they could do is give me my money back as all purchases are supposedly 100% guaranteed! I am done! I will not use eBay again. I started using Amazon.com last week and I am sold! eBay is the worst!

Everyone is complaining about buying on eBay, but actually the site is not responsible for it because there are millions of sellers there and you just can't control them all. But being one of the sellers, I can say that eBay and PayPal suck at this badly! They charge the ridiculous amount of fees for selling your stuff and yet you can't even get your money right away! They claim your funds will be available ASAP if you establish successful selling record, which I did. And still I have to wait 21 days to get my money or actually those of couple cents that are left from it after paying for eBay and PayPal fees.

They're just getting greedy and selling ads to anyone and push into your face on every search. Ebay must give its customers the right to opt out as it is illegal to force this upon us!

He doesn't even live with me; however, they will not reinstate my account because they say he could get on it. I would never give him my password, but they were very cocky and didn't care at all that we buy business supplies and accessories often from eBay. The businesses selling on eBay should have an alternate way to pay with a credit card and eBay should not be sold out for people only using PayPal. After this experience, I wish someone would start another company to compete against PayPal because they are very arrogant and could care less about the consumer.

As of Friday, 6/22/2012, I have ceased selling and buying on eBay due to a dismaying turn of events from April 2012 to June 2012 involving buyers. It is rare indeed that eBay finds in favor of a seller in an escalated dispute. After two to three events earlier in the year that were no fault of my own, I had negative feedback posted form two buyers who were more than likely in need of professional help of some kind.

Followed by a series of lectures from another buyer on how to conduct transactions on eBay even though I had been on there since 1998 and until then, never had a complaint. My listings were clear in wording and my pictures were of high quality and provided ample description of the items. Lost money on partial refunds and lost status. No support from eBay. Only "resolution specialists" who I could not understand due to thick accents and poor English who promised resolution scenarios which did not occur. I was not even advised on request that you could counter negative feedback to offset it somewhat.

The final event just occurred, where a person bought a collectible item from me and had seven days to look at a well-worded listing and awesome photos during the auction to make up his mind. The buyer paid quickly and the item was well-packed and shipped. It was communicated with the buyer. The buyer then dropped off the radar, returning over a week later with short, negative and disturbing emails claiming a flaw in the item (which was actually not a flaw but original to it and other models from the same year)

I refused to refund due to buyer not looking at pictures or description carefully. The issue in question could easily be seen from photos. Then, eBay sided with the seller, who was verbally abusive on second email and never attempted to mediate. I'm out $202.00 and have yet to receive item on return after over a week. eBay is sloppy, scary and will never receive my business again. I was made to feel like a common con artist and criminal. I am an honest person getting screwed along with all of the other people here - buyers and sellers alike. Many other details to impart at another time.

I asked for full refund from seller. They refused. I filed case with eBay. First, eBay agreed with me and told me to ship them back with tracking at my expense. I did so and eBay suspended the case to allow for delivery. When time expired on delivery, eBay closed the case and no refund. I am now out US$371 and do not have the aids. On May 4, 2012, I bid on and won a Canon PowerShot SD4000 IS (item # 290703644697) for $113 from **. I had been looking for one of these discontinued models for a while, and bid because I felt comfortable with the seller’s description of the item, as he wrote and I quote “This camera works excellent and if you are not happy, you can return it for a full refund.” I received the camera on May 9, 2012. It came well packaged by the seller.

On the following Thursday and Friday, I started using the camera, and a lot of my pictures were coming out blurry, especially when outdoors in full sunlight. I contacted the seller who said he never had such a problem with the camera, and to try and reset the settings. I did so and experimented with the settings over the following weekend. At first I thought I managed to get the camera working properly, by not pre-focusing the shutter and wrote the seller that and left the positive feedback, not aware that I hadn’t actually taken any pictures of any trees (or objects that take up the top of the frame of the image). When I did so later, I found the top and left hand side of my images were blurry.

When I contacted the seller and sent him some photos of the blurring of the trees, he told me he still thought it was user-error and to get advice from Canon. On Monday morning, May 14, I called Canon and explained the problem. They told me that the blurring should not be happening and that it is most likely a misaligned lens, and that it would have to be repaired out of warranty, costing me $119. I really thought of every reason not to return the camera, since it still took very good video and photos of close up objects and had manual control of aperture and shutter speed. But in the end, I decided to let the seller know I wanted to return the camera, and figured it wouldn’t be a big deal because of what he said in the listing. But he didn’t accept the return and I was forced to open up a dispute case with eBay.

A few days later, when eBay decided in favor of the seller, I was flabbergasted. I appealed, only to have my refund denied again. Here I am, was sold a defective camera and eBay says the item is as described. A camera that “works excellently” should be able to take clear photos outdoors, right? I have bought other used cameras on eBay before without any problem, and I have been taken aback by this experience. I certainly won’t buy a digital camera on eBay again. I am now out $113 with a camera that I cannot use for outdoor photos. The seller is making up a story that I broke the camera, which is a complete and utter lie. He has been sent photos and videos to show the camera is in the same working order that I received it in.

I also have the 2GB SanDisk Ultra which he included with the camera, which shows photos exhibiting the same kind of problem taken by him prior to the sale of the camera to me. He has not written me back. I have spoken with eBay customer support on the phone almost a month ago, but have not heard back on the investigation, so I sent a certified letter over a week ago but have still not received a response. I will be pursuing legal action against eBay and the seller, as well as filing a complaint with the State Attorney General. The seller continues to write harassing messages on my public complaints in order to silence me, but he will not silence me until I get my money back!

As mainly a private seller on eBay clearing out my garage and yard, am I the only person experiencing a very high percentage of non-paying bidders? Almost without exception, eBay has not a care at all about the contract of sale being upheld by both parties. The seller selling an item of good quality as described, but as we in the UK are experiencing on a minute by minute basis, non-paying bidders that do not even return an e-mail resulting in massive lost fees!

Obviously, eBay is in an illegal position not attempting to enforce payment from the buyer to the seller and continually accepting payment for an item being relisted regardless of how many times you request fee reimbursement. Perhaps, eBay has had its day and we should all go back to our more honorable methods of selling and payment cheques are lovely and old fashioned and still work. Who needs eBay anyway? The world worked without it and may be better off without it. Criminality has seemed to thrive on it so let's get old fashioned again. What's your view?

I will gladly link arms with anyone wishing to bring eBay's corrupt activity to the fore as not only private sellers like myself but thousands upon thousands of UK businesses have had it with eBay taking fees for items that people don't pay for or if they do pay on their sister company PayPal, adopting a "Can I get away with it?" approach by telling PayPal it was not working, or didn't arrive or some other make believe story to try to reclaim their payment. Either way, the whole eBay and PayPal business models had fostered and helped create a new social problem for some users, promoting and even helping dishonorable sometimes criminal actions. I'm going back to ads in my local paper. At least, the people making inquiries about an item will be genuinely interested in that item and leave specialist items to specialist sellers. Let them weed out the idiots.

To end, as we all know, cash is king and the wad is god! And cheques are a lovely way to do business (but only when they have cleared). For overseas trading, direct money transfer or credit card to reputable agents easy peasy. PayPal is not needed. If an attorney wishes to make contact on a pro bono basis to bring other sellers on eBay together and form a case and claim his/her fees after success, no problem. My number for those interested is **. I do so hope that we can create a little pashion about the corruption and end it.

They gave me 5 days to do all this on a very unique item over Memorial Day weekend. I obtained the third party confirmation from an expert at a cost of $84. EBay sided with me on the claim, but refuses to refund the extra costs I had to incur. I have 100% feedback as a buyer and seller and have been an eBay member for 10 years.

I resented the fact that they did not believe me. Instead of simply granting me a refund, they forced me to incur extra costs and aggravation to prove that I was right in the first place. What kind of buyer protection is this? The policies and procedures are designed to make you drop your case, not help you. My advice, treat eBay like someone to whom you are loaning money, never expend more than you plan on losing. After two recent incidences of major inconvenience, I'm done with them. I have been a seller on eBay for over 7 years. A while back, they started a using a code in Adobe Flash to validate and verify accounts. Shortly after this was implemented, my sales would go to limited regions and would stay in that region for a month (meaning only selling to NC or SC). Then, the region would change to NY, MD, CT and there were no sales to the prior region. Then, it would change to only CA, AZ, OR, WA with no sales to the prior two regions. It would then switch to GA, KY, FL with no sales to the other regions, so much so that even my mailman notices when it changes. It’s the same with international: all to Germany or all to France. There’s not a mixture of all states or countries at the same time.

Sales come in batches along with feedback. It is like the site is blacked out or the server is offline for periods at times and suddenly you are on for hours or days and then completely off. As of April, about the 15th, my sales have dropped to less than half on one account that was in the eBay top rated seller (TRS) status. My second account is still experiencing the rolling blackout, but it’s making sales and was promoted to the TRS and then suddenly sales came to a halt. On contacting eBay’s customer support, some admit to problems while others say it is the first they ever heard of. eBay is removing complaints from members on the discussion forms and trying to cover up the issue. Sellers are paying fees, thousands of dollars a month, to have products listed and viewable worldwide 24/7 and we are not getting what we pay for. eBay refuses to address the problems publicly and continues to take sellers fees knowing the site is not working properly. Quoting a customer support person at eBay, "We will offer a special when it is fixed - our way of saying sorry."

eBay has what they call a "top-rated seller" (TRS) designation that I currently have. With it comes a 20% fee discount, and buyers generally trust you more. Requirements have to do with overall customer service, feedback, and what they call "detailed seller ratings" (DSRs). eBay buyers can leave negative and unfair feedback and DSRs with impunity, and sellers have no recourse. Sellers cannot leave negative feedback for buyers or challenge them in any way. Recently, eBay has started do institute more and more requirements for TRSs to meet in order to maintain their status. Part of the new plan is a portion called "Performance Criteria." This states: "Starting June 20, eBay must have tracking information uploaded on at least 90% of all your shipments to US buyers within your stated handling time for the period of May 1 through May 31. The July 20 evaluation will count transactions from May 1 through June 30. Every evaluation after that will count transactions over the previous three months."

What this means is that if you state you will ship within one business day, which I do without fail, you must print the shipping labels (upload the tracking information) in 90% of your transactions within that time period. I do this 100% of the time, as I always ship the next business day. Always. However, since they began to keep track of this data in the last couple of months, my score has always floated around 92%, which is ok - it's above the 90% - except it is not remotely accurate. It should be 100%.

I have called eBay repeatedly about this problem and have received excuses varying from "It will be all right in June" to "It's just a temporary computer glitch." and "It will be okay; don't worry about it." It was upsetting, but not as upsetting as when I checked my rating again last week and found it had fallen to 89%. There was a yellow flag on the page that, when I checked, indicated that "your top seller rating is at risk."

I have called all week and been promised return phone calls from supervisors that I never received. As directed, I wrote 5 letters using the "suggestion box" which promises a response within 24 to 48 hours; and I have not gotten one. I just checked now and see my rating is now at 90.72%. I have no confidence it will stay there. I am extremely upset about this. I can't seem to get anyone to tell me the truth. And although people say they care, they obviously don't, really, because nothing is ever done. This has me pretty down, and if I didn't need this income, I would quit selling on eBay in a heartbeat. But I am a chronic pain sufferer, and it "works" for me to work at home.

I don't think my livelihood should be threatened because eBay cannot control the software. And there are many other TRSs, who are having the same problem or others related to DSRs.

On or about April 15th, my sales went from $2,000-$2,500 a month down to as of today just over $600. I was just at the point of thinking, well sales are very good, and it’s time to grow. I had another 300 items ready to list, stream in and hold as store stock. The very next day, it was like someone switched off a light. My sale tanked to almost nothing. From the 15th to now, May 25, my sales are like a trickle if any per week. There was one day that felt normal with 5 sales I guess, but the rest had a highest of 3 with most days hitting zero.

When you see such a decline, one panics. It's the extra income that helped the house make it through the tough times. I started looking on the eBay community forums and saw that I was not alone. Many, many people are stating the same thing, starting in the same time frame and get so many different answers from the employees at eBay one finds the companies credibility is nil. I have found the ones who seem affected the most are what eBay calls "preferred treatment for doing an excellent job". It is called "top-rated seller". This seller has stellar feedback, excellent service and a sound return policy. It is something that the seller should not only be proud of, but should also get seen higher in the "best match" search.

When I was on the phone with eBay yesterday, it was stated to me that while that is a super attribute, the seller who sells the most is favored. Meaning cheap offshore merchandise is favored over a constant record of selling a great product. It's frustrating, the sales are down and the fees are rolling regular. I know it does not seem like a company would elevate sellers’ sales. They make money off them, but these are facts and can be seen not only on eBay's community stores, technical issues and many other boards all stating the very same thing I am writing about today. In the end, I do hope this is a technical issue, as if this is the new company policy. Many who have made ends meet in the economic meltdown will go down with the rest of the nation.

It's very disheartening as somehow I thought that I missed that bullet and was so thankful eBay was there to help my family in the hardest of times. What made eBay so great was items that just could not be bought anymore. The "oldies but the goodies", the expensive, long lasting, yet second-hand items that we grew up seeing. I always bought what I knew was a great item on eBay, as it was affordable and in a fair market. Well, it seems that fair market is gone in eBay like the rest of the United States, sold out the cheap junk, and anything that is truly good, unsearchable.

First, I would like to direct everyone to eBay's Technical Issues Board on their own site. This will give you more of an idea of how bad things are at eBay right now. They are a bunch of bumbling idiots and they cannot even fix their own site. Half of that may be because they refuse to admit or accept that their site is down. I have personally lost over 65% of my business since April 15th. Many others are reporting exactly the same, so this is not a singular event with just me. The Technical Issue Board is lit up with complaints since April and eBay is denying anything is wrong. 40 days and they cannot fix it!

Wow, that's just amazing. Please, if you are an attorney and want to help some small businessmen out, help us start a class action suit about this. eBay has affected millions of small business owners and they have done nothing to correct the problem. I do not know if they are doing this to promote their own self serving interest trying to get rid of some of the small guys so their own personal sellers (yes, eBay) sell on their own site (and all of us are in direct competition with the very entity that runs our business site). In any case, many small business are being put out of business and buyers cannot make purchases or bids on items, which means items are selling for much less than what they should be and people are losing money!

I keep accurate and detailed info on everything that comes in and goes out, what I buy it for and what it sells for. I have every one of my eBay invoices for the past 10 years! I have always run my business like a business and paid taxes for what I made. So, I have no problem being part of a class action suit against eBay and I have no problem putting all of my info out there to help prove the case against them. I encourage any other business owner or personal seller who has been affected by this to step up, complain. Nothing will get done until we stand up together. There is strength in numbers.

I am a small-time seller on eBay, with about 20-35 items listed at any given time. I pay listing fees to eBay for the privilege of utilizing their platform for visibility to potential buyers. EBay plans for and executes "rolling blackouts" on their servers to eliminate or drastically reduce item visibility of blocks of sellers. Many, many sellers report the same thing and have complained about this situation for years, but, of course, eBay refuses to confirm or even discuss the matter.

When I am in one of eBay’s rolling blackouts, my items are not seen as evidenced by zero "watchers" and no item bids. Then 1-2 weeks later, the blackout is suddenly lifted and my items sell and have plenty of watchers. What's really interesting is that the buyers are from a particular state, all Florida, or all Michigan. The blackouts have become so chronic that even large volume sellers are having their items' visibility stopped for weeks at a time. It is unethical of eBay to knowingly take sellers' listing fees when they know they're going to black out that seller's visibility to shoppers. That is fraud. And there is absolutely nothing that I can do about it.

I even took pictures but eBay refused my case and went for the buyer who is just new to eBay - 15 stars versus 65.

So I lost $241, plus listing fee and sellers fee. EBay's buyer protection is 100% failure, an example of good company going bad. Now, they charge you listing fees and seller fees. And since they now own PayPal, they make a transaction fee. If you lose your case with a buyer, you win the prize and you get charged for two transaction fees. Then, PayPal holds your money for 21 days even if your item was delivered for a week!

EBay doesn't back their sellers. I have been selling on eBay for quite some time. I never had a problem with buyers until now. I state specifically on all my ads "No Refunds or Returns," I sell antiques. I describe the items and post many pictures to ensure there are no questions, and even tell buyers to ask questions before they bid. Well, I got an unsatisfied buyer who states the item came damaged. I don't believe it and this is a new buyer to eBay. EBay agreed to refund my funds from my account at PayPal, even though I do not accept returns. This is a case of buyer’s remorse and now, I can't even resell the item because it's damaged! I took all my sales off eBay. I’m not happy with their policy or their fees and holding my funds until they want to release them. This is a scam!

We purchased an $800 chocolate fountain from Chefice through eBay using PayPal. When we received the fountain several days after it was promised, it was poorly packaged (it was in pieces with a few pieces of broken styrofoam around it in its carrying case, which had merely been taped around the edges and labeled), dented, and when we tried it out, it didn't work. We contacted the seller through eBay and he agreed to refund our money when he received the item. We shipped it back (at our expense of $47, packaged just as we had received it), but did not receive our refund. When we filed a dispute with eBay, they stated that the seller reported that the item was damaged in the return shipping and that we would not receive a refund. Not only are we out the $800 for the fountain and $47 shipping, but since this was for a catering event, we had to pay over $500 more to rent a fountain. This is nothing but outright fraud! What appears to have happened is that the seller planned to collect the money from shipping insurance; however, we didn't spend the extra money to insure an already broken product. I'll never do business with eBay again. Apparently, their buyer protection is nothing more than false advertising!

But he was actually sending bogus email responses to allow for the 45-day complaint expiration to run out; hence, not honoring his word, saving himself from sending me the correct paint, and blocking me from leaving a bad negative feedback on his seller score.

I started as a buyer. Last year, I thought to try selling. I live in the country and people found out and they wanted me to buy and sell for them. One of my sellers had bought a buffalo rug and changed his mind and decided to sell. I listed and gave a good picture of it. The ad stated "buffalo rug, hide crafts". Description: Good buffalo hide 5' x 41/2', has some holes, few stiff spots, great for whatever. No Reserve. $175.00 plus shipping $20.00. One bid came in, but they lived in France. I have never shipped out of the country, and told the buyer I could not ship because shipping would be more than $20.00. Buyer said he would pay for shipping. I talked to the seller, he said okay.

The postal clerk helped me wrap it to ship to France. This rug was sold on 3/26/12 and shipped on 3/28/12. On 5/4/12, I received an e-mail from eBay buyer wanted a full refund of $239.00. I explained that the buyer asked no questions and the ad was correct. Buyer stated it had holes, stiff spots, was not tanned and had an odor. Postal clerk who helped me wrap it knows there was no odor, other than the regular smell of a hide. I am waiting to see what is going to happen. My buyers and sellers, and I are waiting and may decide to stop our eBay account. What else can I do?

I do research for price and these type "sellers" use a mix of wrong pictures, oops, not in stock on low bids, price games, shipping games, etc. The third party is a pyramid scam selling a dream. Not all of the participants are so crafty. I work with a couple of guys "going to retire" if they can get their business booming. They're looking for people to teach the business. I'm not kidding, I think they've played out though. I'm a big fan of eBay. I don't want to deal with this **. After she sent back the fake gold coin, which was dated Jan. 26th 2012, she had opened a case and when I notified her that we have police records of our coins as we are a pawn shop, she dropped the case and left negative feedback and negative stars on dashboard. This has affected our rating and when we notified eBay, they said that is her opinion. We have all good feedback, but the dashboard says negative and they are ready to kick us off. Whoever is managing eBay as you can see from all the complaints is not doing a very good job. The CEO should really step down and let someone else bring eBay up to the great site it used to be.

Now please tell me if you purchase it on eBay, shouldn't you be able to resell? Well, they won't reinstate my account. They also claimed that my account is linked to a suspended seller, and they won't tell me who and when. This is not good business. And of course, now that eBay suspended my account, so did PayPal, which was again saying it was only due to the fact that eBay suspended it and they are owned by eBay. Now, I ask you, does this seem fair? I am applying for a refund from the original sellers, after all, I am a victim of fraud myself. So I guess I'll see if they will honor it.

I have been a member for over ten years with 1485 positive feedbacks credited to my account. On September 22, 2011, a buyer, calling his self Barryg, purchased 3 items from me on 3 separate auctions. Despite attempts to contact him, he did not pay me. I filed an unpaid buyer's claim through eBay's system, and the buyer paid.

After receiving items, Barryg gave me 3 negative feedbacks and low ratings on detail seller ratings. Detail seller ratings are critical. Low ratings mean restrictions to your account. The buyer stated his reason that I did not consider discounted shipping since he purchased 3 items. In fact, he received a 25% discount.

As a result of his feedback, I was put onto restricted status. I do not receive my payment until eBay feels the customer is satisfied. Sometimes 3 weeks. Even though I have established a good record over the years, I have to wait one year to be reviewed. I have sold and delivered 20 auctions since this guy and have received positive feedback. My account shows 1293 positives from sellers with a total of 1485. What this means is if a buyer gives multiple goods, you only get one good credited and the others figure into a separate column. However, negatives all count even if it's the same guy.

This buyer also sells, so he knows that his feedback is hurtful. It was given in revenge for filing a claim, which is also bad. eBay is changing its policy on this very fact in June, and yet, they will not give me the benefit of the doubt. I am unemployed and need the funds of the sales as quick as I can get them. I think this policy is unfair. I called on 4/19 and got nowhere. I hope you can be of some help. All I want is for them to consider my record and remove the restriction. Thanks.

Purchased jewelry listed as fixed price and not auction, and the item was not as described. This is just one of several occasions where I have been cheated on eBay and I am wondering after reading some of the other complaints, why this company is still allowed to profit from mail and consumer fraud. These are blatant occurrences and even after I filed a complaint with PayPal, I still did not receive a refund until I contacted the Better Business Bureau in the state where this particular seller stated they had a physical address.

PayPal refused to consider my complaint and demanded I return the item at my expense. Why should I be required to throw good money after bad? I had contacted the seller in question and offered to package the item at my expense, but the misrepresentation of the item was intentional on their part and I told them I was more than happy to return the item but that I would not spend additional money on a bad transaction. The seller jerked me around until the Better Business Bureau got directly involved and I was asked by NY Consumer Affairs to submit a complaint to their fraud division as well, but again it all stems back to eBay and its lack of policy enforcement to avoid this type of activity.

I have curtailed my purchasing from this venue and will ultimately find other more trustworthy sites who will welcome my business, but that doesn't make up for all the financial losses I suffered while trying to deal with eBay or PayPal. I suggest to anyone reading this to re-think where they are purchasing things and whether or not they can't purchase the same items through another online vendor. I have found Amazon.com to have a far better guarantee than eBay or PayPal and Abebooks.com has far better book values and pricing than Half.com. Look around and even if you have to pay a little more, it’s not worth it having to deal with an unethical company in the long run?

eBay was supposed to be fun, but I can honestly live without the headaches I experience for the most part when dealing with their sellers or their affiliates. Buyers can go anywhere to buy. eBay makes its money off its sellers regardless of whether they sell anything or not. There are other and better options. But I would still like to see someone take eBay to task someday. This is not a company which operates to the good of the marketplace and is a detriment to anyone engaging in mail order/online sales.

I, too, am another seller whom eBay has done dirt. I have been moping around for the last few months, sad, depressed, and broke, wondering what in the world I had done so wrong for them to have treated me the way they did. Now, I know that I am definitely not alone.

I have been a buyer since 2006 and opened a store in 2007. I had the ProStore, which costs $49.95 per month in fees, and also the Selling Manager Pro, which was an additional $15.95 per month. I was a top-rated PowerSeller. My main inventory was Italian charms and handmade jewelry, all of which ranged in price from $1.99 to $12.00. In July of 2011, my jewelry making really took off and I decided to leave my regular job to pursue my dream. When I was able to invest more time in listing, the sales really took off and I was making approximately triple what I was making at my "real" job. So I was happy.

The problem all started January 31, 2012, when I awoke to find an email from eBay informing me that all of my listings (over 4,000 of them) had been ended and my account was restricted. Why? Because I had a pendant listed with the name of a girl. The listing title read "handmade resin pendant - custom name Tiffany.” I had hundreds of names listed. But that particular name apparently sent shock-waves through eBay's "trust & security" department. By the way, the pendant had been listed for over two years with several sales. The day before this happened, I was updating my shipping fees (I charged exactly what the USPS charged) and the "Tiffany" listing jumped out and told me to check my listing and make sure I was following their guidelines pertaining to counterfeit merchandise. I went ahead and updated the listing because I knew that I was doing nothing wrong.

Well, I did do something wrong. I trusted that eBay would help me with my store being restricted when a customer service rep actually looked at the listing and saw that I was not trying to sell a counterfeit diamond from Tiffany's jewelry store. Wrong! Same song and dance as all of the other complaints I have read. I was shuffled from rep to rep, department to department and none of them was able to help. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, they told me that was not possible and that my account would be restricted forever. And I also made the mistake of asking if the fact that I was a PowerSeller, top-rated seller, had over 4,000 positive feedbacks and paid them approximately $500 per month meant anything to them. The reply to me was "not really" and then a dial tone.

People want to know why eBay does this. There is one simple explanation: because they can! Hopefully, enough people will leave them and they will either have to change their practices or go out of business. What shocks me more than anything is the number of people they employ (15,000 as I saw on BBB’s website) that are all **. I would hate to live in the city where they are all located! I know by my posting this that it may not make any kind of difference. But if enough people tell their stories, maybe someone who is powerful enough will take notice and be able to do something about it.

I could go on and on about all of the other injustices they do to sellers, but it would be repeating what everyone else has to say. I wish all of the good buyers out there would be made aware of the way eBay operates and stop buying. Just let all the scammers and criminals have it. I know I will never purchase anything or sell anything on eBay ever again even if they had a change of heart and allowed me to.

Just for the record, eBay does not just screw over sellers. They treat buyers like dirt, too. Normally, I do not use eBay nor do I recommend it to anyone. I have never sold anything on eBay. A few years ago, I created an eBay account for the sole purpose of purchasing a rechargeable battery which I could not find elsewhere. I did not bid on it. I just placed an order for it and paid for it. The seller shipped it to me and it worked fine. Not long after, I received an e-mail from eBay notifying me that my account had been suspended for the following reason: "Your account was suspended under the ‘Abusing eBay’ section of the eBay User Agreement. This section states that eBay may suspend a user's account if we think that the user is creating problems (legal or otherwise) or acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of our policies."

When I contacted them, they would not tell me what had happened or why they had accused me of "abusing eBay." They wanted me to send them a copy of my driver's license and a utility bill to "prove" my identity. I asked them why they didn't just send me something in the mail to determine whether I was myself. They refused. I also refused to provide them with the information they requested. I believe that their request was a breach of privacy and that they could use the information to steal my identity. I asked them why they waste time harassing innocent people who make one small $45 purchase when there is rampant fraud on eBay. They did not reply and were adamant about their position. So I told them that eBay was one of the most dishonest, fraudulent companies of all times and that they had lost me forever as a customer.

They did not care about my business because they make their money from all of the fraudulent sellers on eBay. They do not make any money off of someone like me who just occasionally buys something through the site. They also don't make as much money on honest sellers. I have often wondered whether eBay drives all of the honest buyers and sellers off of their site so that they can make more money through fraudulent activity. Unlike many of the people posting complaints here, I didn't really lose anything. But eBay lost a customer. I never had my account reinstated. And neither I, nor any of my family or friends, ever bought or sold anything on eBay after I got suspended.

It's been over three months now and nothing happened besides my account being further restricted.

I did not sell a single item, but still eBay demanded me to pay US$864 seller's fees. True, about 4 buyers did not agree to cancel the bid so for them I will have to pay the selling fees. It is unfair to U.S. sellers to try and sell on eBay, not only do we have to sell our items for their dirt cheap prices, but we have to put up with their unfair practices. They use different accounts to list the same item just changing the brand in some cases even though it is the same item, they also change their location. They overwhelm eBay with their listings so that their items sell.

U.S. Sellers waste their money on listing fees only for their items not to sell. I've had 300 unsold items that I've wasted my money on listing fees. I’ve also had competitors bid on my items and not pay to waste my time and money to discourage me from selling. eBay needs to address these issues and the public should be made aware.

I looked into 1 swimwear item currently listed on eBay and was shocked to find that 1 seller can use the same photos and item and just listed under different accounts, change the location, price and title to get away with violating eBay’s policies. Their product sells and I end up with an unsold item because I was honest and followed their policies. Please help, I am struggling to get by and make a living. In this case, I asked eBay to judge if the seller should pay for the return shipment if returning an item results solely from the seller's misconduct in transaction, i.e. lying about the item condition or a fraud. eBay's first reply was that the seller only needs to refund the original price and shipment. I then escalated the case, arguing that such policy is not fair to the buyers who may be victims of fraud or like activities on eBay market and cases like mine should demand sellers to pay for return shipment also. I received their reply this time stating, "The case was ruled in favor of you. Return the item with recipient's signature required and report the tracking information." I returned the item just this way, however, the return shipment was not included in the refund they issued.

I called their customer services and their representative told me their policy about the return shipment reimbursement, which she told me never happens although their website states it does under some circumstances. I asked about their judgment in the case and what "ruling the case in favor of you" means. She only said eBay will not reimburse for return shipment. Without their "ruling in favor of you", I had a choice not to send back the item which would cost me over $100 via FedEx. I had made my case specifically about whether this costly return shipment would be reimbursed by eBay or the seller. I feel eBay has an obligation to keep their words and reimburse me the return shipment I paid due to their direction in solving the case.

My son mailed package to my customer but didn’t use their mailing systems. He just took the package to the post office and mails them without a delivery confirmation because he didn’t know that he had to have one. They are forcing sellers to use all of the mailing and payment systems in order to drain them dry. I don’t mind sending out your items, but I do mind being forced to use mailing systems that I was already using. Something needs to be done about eBay ripping sellers off. They list items that you don’t ask them to list and charge you for them. In this way, they make sure they are getting everything you made for the month you are selling. You can list and items for five cent and they will change the price to say 50 cents when you click “submit it” knowing you can’t change it.

Whenever you call them, they act as if they don’t understand what you are saying and you go on and on saying the same thing over and over again. Because they refuse to listen to you, it is like a game they are playing with you. I have problem with my heart and this doesn’t help when you got to sit here on the phone for hours. Why do they transfer you backward and forward? They are not explaining nothing to you except they are holding your funds for no reason at all. I was sick for the three weeks that my son was mailing out my packages through regular mail without delivery confirmation. eBay has been giving me pure hell in regard to releasing the funds so the customers can received their orders; therefore, I ask them to tell me how to put all of my items on hold and no will tell me. This is a very stressful company to deal with.

The bidder changed his mind 18 minutes before the auction ended. It is SCS LLC in Virginia. The bidder threatened the seller if the seller did not retract the bidder's bid. Bids cannot be retracted in the last hour of auction. The bidder won the item. I filed a complaint with eBay. eBay found in seller's favor. The buyer filed a complaint with Paypal immediately after. Paypal found in buyer's favor. eBay said that a buyer should not be able to file a complaint with eBay and Paypal and that this buyer must have known how to beat the system or knew someone at Paypal. Paypal refunded the buyer's money. The buyer kept the $200 item, which was not returnable.

The seller was charged eBay seller fee. The seller ended up paying about $17 in seller fees and losing the $200 income, and losing the item to this scam. The seller had many long conversations with Paypal and eBay, who agreed that the seller was scammed but they can do nothing about it because the buyer won't give the money back and the seller does not want the computer item back. eBay has become nothing but a market for scammers. The seller sold two other items the same week to two eBayers who also were unrealistic and left negative feedback for no good reason. One buyer demanded immediate shipment upon making payment at 10PM on a Friday night and the other one demanded to return a non-returnable item and demanded that the seller pay for shipping to and from buyer. eBay complaint found in seller's favor, the buyer kept the item and got a refund but still left negative feedback. eBay is awful.

I sold a very inexpensive item on eBay; after doing business on eBay for 10 years, I had 100% positive feedback. The item I sold had a picture, description, and stated "no returns". The buyer sent a message and said that they were the wrong color. I stated that they were the ones in the photo, but I'd return his money anyway. He returned the items and I returned his money. Then, he gave me a nasty negative feedback. It was so bad, that eBay took it off.

So I explained my position, but could not leave feedback for him. Again, the buyer was able to respond to my explanation. I, the "seller", could not respond to him, so now I have my first negative feedback. This is not fair, if money is returned, the idiots should not be allowed to leave negative feedback. For some inane reason, eBay favors the buyer, and forgets that they were started on their way to riches with us small-time garage cleaner-outers. EBay is too big to be concerned with the small occasional sender. Shame on them!

So I told the seller what happened and they quit selling on eBay. I believe that eBay was in concert with the person who won. I was getting info until the end.

First, my account was restricted because 3 buyers filed a complaint that they have not received the item. Those buyers are international. Even in our shipping policy, its stated 15-25 days for international shipping, but these buyers filed a complaint during that period. PayPal placed a hold on our account and eBay restricted our account for relist item until these problems were being resolved. I sent the tracking number to the buyers but the buyers still didn't want to close the case. I can't wait any longer otherwise; I will miss all the opportunities to resell my new items. Therefore, I issued a full refund to those buyers. As a seller, we don't have any protection.

Second, my feedback is 100% until the last 2 days, 2 buyers put an unreasonable negative feedback without any contact and their comment is out of context and does not want to provide evidence. I suspect they are scammers or someone who tries to damage your reputation because of strong competition. I reported this to eBay, regarding a buyer abusing the feedback policy. I wrote an email explaining the situation. Do you know what I received from stupid eBay customer assistance? He asked me to refund him, give him the tracking number and etc. which is not relevant at all to my questions. The buyer who left me a negative feedback has gotten the item and eBay wants me to refund them. Customer service didn’t even read my email correctly. They probably just copied and pasted the respond from the template. This is not cool. I read their email and I just cracked up laughing.

Third, my eBay account is a business type account, but they place selling limitations to my account. The first month, I was only allowed to list up to 100 items. Every month I have to send a request to increase my selling limit. They only give me a 100-item increase every month. Recently, I asked again because my selling volume is more than my listing allowance. As you know, maintaining selling history is very important. But because of this limitation, some of my items that have a good selling record have all ended up in the toilet. I have to relist the items again and the selling history is all gone. Not cool right? EBay told me that they just give me an increase of 100 items recently and that I need to wait for 90 days before another review.

Forth, I sold an item to a buyer and four months later, the buyer filed a complaint to eBay that the item they received is not as described. I advised the buyer to send back the item as a proof including the proof of receipt. The buyer refused to send it back. Without any investigation, eBay told me that the buyer filed a complaint and asked me to refund him. I refused to refund because the transaction was over 4 months ago. If the buyer wanted a refund, he should send the item back to prove it. It’s just common sense that you can't just refund someone who has used the item for 4 months. You don't even know if they will post the item back to you because they refused to cooperate with you in resolving the problem.

Do you see how dumb eBay policy, customer assistant and eBay safe and trust team? If I find a better selling platform, I will definitely resign from eBay. EBay policy is just to protect buyer. They don't value your effort and your good feedback reputation.

Ebay is now charging a final value fee on shipping charges. It's 9% of the charge, which is the same rate they charge a seller on a sale. So they are now receiving 18% of the sale: closing cost of item + shipping charge. My complaint is how they can charge a final value on shipping when shipping is a charge/cost made to send the item to its buyer. There is no value on shipping. I believe this to be theft by deception and would like to be refunded the amount I have paid + other damages if warranted.

The seller filed a violation complaint against me. He didn't tell them what he said to me. The negative feedback that I left for him, which he greatly deserved, wasn’t put on. Therefore, the seller, who doesn't practice good business and got his merchandise back so he could resell it and treated me inhumanely, is the victor!

I am out $8.20 and he has 100% feedback and his merchandise. I got the cost and shipping back when I opened a dispute, but that was it. This has happened to me a lot over the years. I buy a lot on eBay. I filed a complaint with the BBB, trying to get seller to be responsible for paying back return shipping. It should be a policy. The seller gets their merchandise back and the buyer gets cheated out of hard earned money.

Ebay responded to the BBB complaint. He failed to mention that when you buy something from a store and return it, the store has their merchandise back so they can resell it! Where is the justice here? eBay is like a mail order catalog: if the customer isn't satisfied, the catalog company pays to have their item returned. Am I the only one this has happened to? I don't think so. There are millions of buyers on eBay and all sellers need to pay back return shipping!

Scam between eBay and PayPal to steal income from Users - eBay has implemented new unreasonable policies regarding seller performance. The new ratings make it impossible to obtain discounts and additional seller benefits for pre-order companies. In order to qualify, you must ship in one day. This is not a possibility since pre-order companies do not carry stock. This is the reason pre-order companies receive different classification and treatment. Items are made at the factory per customer specifications. This new policy is a form of discrimination and is based on business type.

Pre-order companies also have a different standard for performance in shipping time. Feedback defaults to 5 stars for shipping time since the item must be made. eBay is allowing my customers to report a less than desirable rating in a category due to the incorrect labeling on my account. My customers should not have the option to report feedback rating in the shipping time category. They will not make this correction for unknown reasons.

I think it is to collect revenue that they could not collect if they made the correction. If they can do this to me, they are certainly doing it to others. Take a dollar away from a million people and you have a million bucks. Due to this incorrect classification, I have lost my top seller rating, discounts and all benefits associated including higher placement in the search categories on eBay. My sales have dropped off more than 500%. If my account was properly categorized, the shipping option would not be available as a feedback selection and my account would still be in top standing discounts intact. This is a scam between eBay (parent company) and PayPal to generate additional income by collecting a larger percentage of listing and final value fees. In addition, PayPal generates additional interest income (for 21 days) on the money held instead of immediately releasing the funds to the seller with no interest collected.

I called eBay for help and was passed around 15 times eventually to Mike, a great guy who said that he could assist with the matter and remove the limits from PayPal as soon as he received confirmation that the low DSR feedback ratings were not my fault. eBay verified this and I was transferred into another loop where Franco employee id **, a head strong "I am always right. My word is the last word," supposed supervisor in the Trade and Securities dept. refused to assist. He said the other guy lied. Well, I guess the other three people before him did too!

Well anyway, this guy Franco refused to transfer me to his supervisor and eventually hung up on me when I would not end the call. He had no interest whatsoever to resolve my issue. Correct the account label so that my account was in the right category for the product I sell. I wasted four hours of my pregnant life fighting with him. I asked repeatedly for his supervisor's voicemail or direct warm transfer. He refused and told me, "I am the highest person you are going to speak to and I think I have to go. I have told you all of the information." I asked him if he owned eBay. You know the response? I got hung up on anyway! They continue to deny me access to my funds and I still do not have the discounts I am supposed to be qualified for due to the miscategorization and feedback reporting problem.

Since the event 10 days ago, I have had a loss in income of over $10,000. In addition, since my account is now considered below standard because of the skewed rating, all payments processed using eBay checkout and PayPal have a 21 day hold or a hold until three days after delivery confirmation. Since I am a custom order company, I cannot order the items until I receive payment. Hence, I will never qualify for the new rating system since I can not ship in 1 day.

Please note that this address matched exactly the address that was also listed on PayPal. I had tracking on the package as I was supposed to do also. The package came back to me, saying "Insufficient Address".

I e-mailed the buyer, who said that her address was indeed incorrect on eBay and PayPal. She was not willing to pay the shipping once again. I was also not willing to pay the shipping once again. Therefore, she opened a dispute in PayPal. PayPal sided with her and refunded not only the $19.99 (like I would have expected), but also the $15 shipping. So you see, I have the item back, but I am out by the $15 shipping, also the PayPal fee to accept her funds originally, and the final value fee that eBay charges.

PayPal has said that even though it was not my fault, that they cannot separate item charges from shipping charges. I spoke with eBay, and they too agreed that it was not my fault. They said they would credit the final value fee (since the item was returned to me). PayPal also credited my account for their fee. But, I am still out $15 and I had followed the instructions to a tee. How can this happen?

Still, nothing shows. I called eBay again today, and was told that they do see this note in my account, but that this was misinformation and that they cannot do that. Now, where is the Seller Protection that eBay is always talking about? I hesitate to sell anything on eBay, as this could happen again. Can you help me?

I contacted eBay and the agent said there was no seller block against me. He suggested I clean my cache and cookies, which I did, and it seemed to work. I went back to the original item and placed a bid with half a minute to go. My bid was again blocked. I sent the seller two messages. I called eBay and got another unhelpful agent that said I was blocked. I told her I sent two messages to the seller and she told me I couldn't because I was blocked; but they didn't say they were blocked when I sent them and I also sent a message while I was on the phone with the agent.

I told the agent what the first agent said. She told me, "He told you what you wanted to hear.” What? I asked for a manager. She put me on hold and then got back to me and said there was no manager available and could I leave a number for a call back. I did not have time for that as I was going out. I believe there is collusion between some eBay employees and some bidders, especially when it comes to rare instruments on eBay. This is not the first time I've had problems getting a last minute bid in; it's happened in different ways several times in the past, but this is the last straw. I'm thinking of taking this to my congressman. I hate to bother him with a trivial matter, but it involves an item over ten thousand dollars and if there is collusion going on, it should be exposed—it's a crime. It seemed to have been a mistake and my account will be reactivated within ten days. Three weeks later, I call to confirm why my account was still suspended and was told it was suspended indefinitely because of "serious abuse" and "linked accounts". At this point, I was seriously concerned about my personal and financial information that seemed to no longer be secure. They would tell me nothing. Frankly, I have no interest in appealing, nor any interest in continuing any relationship with eBay beyond the resolution of this issue. The interest I have is in the security of my identity and financial information and the desire for my account to be closed and my information to be deleted to avoid any future access or abuse.

I reported this to the Better Business Bureau and eBay indicated that they couldn't help me because no address of every one I lived at the first 5 years of my account's existence match the account's original registration address or any information related to my account. Not only is that frustrating, but it's also quite terrifying since I only lived at one address since the five years leading up to my account's creation and the two year's following its creation. Clearly, my information has been changed / tampered with either by eBay or some third party who has gained access to my account.

So, now my account has been linked to a random account in China. I can't access my account to see any information. Someone has access to my information and eBay won't talk to me beyond accusing me of being a policy violator or simply hanging up on me. I listed an item for sale on eBay, and eBay sent me a message stating my item was sold. I was immediately charged a final value fee for selling the item, even though after over a week of waiting, I never got paid. I do not pay my eBay fees until I receive payment from the Buyer. Then I open a case, and I was forced to wait another week without any response of any kind from the buyer, and then I am finally credited the final value fee. I re-list the item, and within a day, even though I clearly state in all of my listings that I do not ship out of the country, a person attempts to buy the item, even though they are from out of the country. They sent me a message that they would be willing to pay any amount for the shipping charge. I cancelled the transaction, after checking the USPS website and finding that it would cost nearly $85 to ship, and sent them a polite message that I cannot ship to them, as stated in the listing, due to the high cost of shipping, and the concern of whether they would receive it or not.

I tried to cancel the transaction, and after over a week of waiting, and not being able to sell this item to anybody else, I am being charged a final value fee, and eBay has not yet closed the case, stating the Buyer has not responded. I called them and asked them why it was taking so long, they do not have an answer, and add that since I didn't file an unpaid item dispute, I will not receive a credit for my final value fee. So, they are basically attempting to steal from me. Even though the item was never really sold in the first place, as it was sold to somebody, I clearly stated I did not sell it too, and never got paid either. These policies are completely unfair to the sellers; it is a waste of our time, and they should not be able to collect money for items that never actually sold since we were not paid for them.

I recently sold on eBay. I had 100% feedback, Top Rated Seller status, impeccable policy compliance and multitudes of return customers. Sounds great, doesn't it? Well, you'd be wrong. I will never ever sell on eBay again. Within the space of 2 days, despite the above, I ended in closing my account due to eBay's appalling behavior in refusing to punish members inflating item prices by falsely reporting them, claiming they are in violation of eBay terms of use, and as such colluding in what I interpret to be fraud. I had an item removed in such a manner, then spent 4 hours on the phone with eBay before finally getting it re-instated and forcing eBay to issue an email admitting fault. I then filed a complaint against those members who had submitted false information in order to get the item removed in the first place, due to the fact it was competing at a lower price than those that had them listed. eBay's response--nothing, and not just nothing, much worse. Not only did they refuse to punish the people responsible for trying to damage my reputation, they then threatened me with policy violations when I had the nerve to author an eBay guide, which informed others of what had occurred.

Apparently, eBay only cares about providing a safe and informed environment when it isn't their own level of safety or the lack of enforcing policy bought into question. I was contacted with a message from eBay Trust & Safety (what a joke) informing me that if I didn't remove or edit the guide, I would be hit with policy violations (despite the fact that the information contained within it was 100% true and accurate), a message I interpreted to be a form of blackmail. When I refused to comply, they did indeed issue multiple violations, effectively destroying my business, and this again despite a spotless record, 100% feedback, and Top Rated Seller status. To say I'm disgusted doesn't even come close. They refuse to punish long-term members engaged in fraudulent behavior, thus in effect colluding in it, punish those who speak out, then claim in messages to the innocent party they are only acting in the best interest of eBay as a whole. My advice, never buy anything on eBay again. You are simply getting ripped off by a company and selling environment that cares nothing for honesty or integrity.

EBay obviously received a commission for this sale, but they don't want to help me get my money back. I need help to see if someone would help me to sue eBay.

Ebay has removed my listings for a product even though I followed all guidelines outlined in their policy. In addition, I have reviewed all the FDA guidelines and found that the listings were in compliance. This listing is for a pulse oximeter device that is approved by the FDA for over the counter sell. According to eBay, via an in-store message, their policy states that only certain brands are approved for sell. I have not found this policy outside of their messages and they refused to provide a link to this supposed policy.

They have no data to base this policy on other than brand bias. Had their medical device policy stated that I could not sell my oximeters, I would not have spent $4,000 on a large amount for the purpose of selling the product on eBay. In addition, there are several hundred oximeter devices listed on their site that do not follow FDA guidelines and eBay policy but they have not been removed.

I feel that I have been treated unfairly. I have contacted them regarding this issue four times. I have asked them repeatedly to inform me of what I must do to add my oximeter to their "approval" list but they have told me that this is not something they can do. When a company this size holds a bias regarding a brand, it makes it very difficult to compete.

I've purchased two things before on eBay but never sold them. I was seriously unsure what to do and only wanted to sell the thing for a flat amount without the bidding. I wasn't even sure if you could to that so contacted eBay. They assured me that it was set up right and even if I didn't like the price, I could remove the item if I wasn't selling it for enough before the transaction ended. Not correct. I honestly didn't know what I was doing so the woman helped me set up the account for $20 minimum bid, assured me that it would not sell for that price and if it did, I could remove it but put the "buy it now" price as $175. Yeah, it sold for $33. I tried to remove the item before it finalized and it wouldn't let me so there was no money exchanged. It's a $175 purse, brand new. If I don't send it out, they are threatening to suspend my account and open a dispute claim against me. eBay's customer service is beyond rude when I tried to explain that I was extremely dissatisfied. They also picked the shipping and I will end up paying out of pocket to ship it. I might as well throw it in the garbage for as much as I'm getting. Extremely dissatisfied. I will not use eBay again.

eBay regularly place 3rd party adds in private sales, helps to pay for the free listing I suppose. I am a registered business seller and as such pay full listing fees. I buy advertising space from eBay for my products. eBay have now started placing 3rd party adverts within my auctions and sales. Now, if I purchased advertising from TV, on newspapers there is no way would be other ads in my slot. eBay did not discuss this with me and I do not want it on my sales. I am a top-rated seller and as such get more page visits than most. Why should eBay earn royalty from my status?

I purchased a t-shirt on eBay/neatandnice_merchandise1 on my credit card for $24.79 total. I received item with a Wal-Mart packing/receipt with a total showing $8.71. The order number on the ticket is: ** loc. **, item # 0001191977583 (just my size by Hanes watercolor graphic), price: $7, shipping & handling: $0.97 and sales tax: $0.74, which leaves a difference of the total I paid $24.79 to the total on packing ticket of $8.71. I was overcharged $16.08. Please help me understand how this can happen. Plus how can I receive a refund of the difference? I have contacted eBay with no help/assistance. Thank you for your time in advance.

My eBay buyer, destroyed the item I sent to him! He took parts from the item, and then filed a claim with eBay. eBay contacted me, and let me know that he was sending it back, and I now had to send him his money back. I tried to file an appeal with eBay, but they didn't have enough evidence to see the case differently. From now on, what I will be doing is buying things, taking parts I need from them, destroy them, and get a full refund. Why not?

I have been selling on eBay since September 1997. I have over 10,000 - 100% positive comments. On December 28, 2010, I had major lumbar back surgery in which 6 screws, 4 rods and numerous hardware items were removed from my low back. At the same time, the disk space above was fused with 4 more pedicle screws, rods and other hardware. I was off work (at my regular salaried full time position with John Deere) from November 2010 - March 2011. During this time of healing, I reduced my overall monthly sales on eBay.com due to obvious reasons, but still continued to offer minimal items for sale.

On February 20, 2012, eBay did a review of my Detailed Seller Ratings for the period of: January 20, 2011 - February 20, 2012. This is a relatively new program implemented mainly for international and drop-ship sellers which are in an entirely different category than the items I sell and offer. eBay informed me I had received a 1.2% rating (1.0% is allowable = I was .2% over) in one of their four categories:

    1). Item not as described
    2). Communication with seller
    3). Shipping time

    4). Shipping & Handling Fees

I received a payment from PayPal for an item that sold on February 21, 2012 stating that PayPal was holding the funds from my access due to a lower than average seller performance rating. Upon telephoning PayPal and then being transferred to eBay, I was informed that I fell short in one of the 4 rating categories.

The reason for this lower rating is that I was severely incapacitated during part of their evaluation period due to a medical condition (January March 2011). Therefore, it reduced my total overall transactions which influenced my percentage of error much lower than it would normally have been.

When I discussed the fact I had a surgery during this evaluation time frame, eBay informed me the following: If I had faxed or emailed a letter to eBay and informed them I had a medical condition that was going to prevent me from selling during my recuperation period following my surgery, that period of time would not have been taken to account. When I asked if I could submit a letter retroactively that explained that I was recuperating from surgery during part of the time frame and therefore my overall sales volume was decreased due to my health, they said no, that I could not do that.

I would like to bring to your attention that this information is not clear on any of eBay's pages. I am protesting that PayPal and eBay are holding over $300.00 of my hard-earned money based on an inappropriate rating system and unconsidered facts.

Please advice or contact me for more details. Thank you.

I sold a couple of items on eBay in hopes of some quick money. But when I sold the items I had to see that back in the old days you were able to make quick money on eBay, but now they thought of another way to screw with new sellers. When I received the payment through PayPal I had to see that eBay won't let me withdraw the money from PayPal till I receive a positive feedback (otherwise eBay holds money for 21 days). I understand that it's for the buyer's protection, but if the buyer sees my item and my feedback history and they are confident from buying from me then why that hell eBay has to get involved! I used to love shopping and selling on eBay, but it is just a load of ** now!

Seller listed this item on eBay. What was shown was the monitor brochure. Except that the brochure does not have brochure on it. Price listed was $39.00. I thought I was buying a monitor not a brochure. This seller obviously is dishonest. Who would pay $39.00 for a piece of paper? Maybe I can't get my money back, but this person should be exposed for their dishonesty and taking advantage of buyers.

I purchased a perfume from eBay.com on 12/26/11. I never received the package. I contacted the seller numerous occasions to file a claim. Seller refused and only provided tracking number as proof that package was delivered on 12/30/11. I contacted USPS on three occasions. USPS cannot determine where they delivered package (probably left on front door). Therefore, I am being held responsible for a package that is not in my possession and eBay refuses to refund me the money for item not received.

I have no idea what happened. I've been on eBay as a buyer since 2007. Tonight, I attempted to list my first item. I went through the process of listing my aquarium for sale. I forgot to put a reserve on it and tried to edit the field. When I couldn't, I called customer service for help. As the girl was helping me, the account was automatically suspended.

I tried 3 times to find out why and all I was told was that I was a security risk, they have the right to close accounts and not do business with people like me, and 2 of them hung up on me. I have no idea why. My feedback is 100%. They refused to let me speak with a supervisor. It's degrading, humiliating and embarrassing. I have not ever done anything wrong on eBay and have never attempted to sell anything before.

I ordered a product from them over eBay. The item costs $50 plus shipping. Due to problems with my address it was apparently shipped twice and not delivered. I even went to the post office to pick it up one time, but they were not able to locate the package. I have had these problems with the post office in the past (my address is not easy to find) and so instead of having it shipped a third time (I have paid for each shipping cost), I have requested a refund of the product.

The seller, EpicOutfit, has abused me over email and harassed me, including calling me a **, saying I do not know how to read. They mocked me and said that the feedback period on eBay and on PayPal is over and now I have no recourse to pursue getting this refund. I have all of the conversation between us and can send you the transcripts. I would like some advice on how to proceed. All I want is a refund of the product cost, as they currently have the product and have my money. However, they are unwilling to do so. I have included our recent correspondence.

I'm new to eBay. I listed few items on eBay, then I received several phishing emails from eBay. One day I found out my account was suspended. Then all my listing were canceled out by eBay. All my access have been blocked, except accessing my billing statement. I contacted eBay customer service to find out what was going on with my account. The rep stated that I'm a minor, which I'm not. I even faxed in my personal info to confirm that I'm not a minor. My account still got suspended.

Today I was billed automatic out of my Paypal account for $135.25. eBay still stated that I'm a minor and yet still drafted my account. I didn't do any business with eBay since my suspension. Before that, I listed items that eBay canceled out and suspended my account. I can't change anything in eBay due to suspension. I demand my funds be returned.
