You may think just because you have been with eBay for many years, it is a sure way to avoid suspension. Nope, you are wrong people. Many people assume sellers who have been suspended are a result of shady activity. I don't think so people, you make assumptions, but you haven't been on the other side of the fence. You will see once you wake up, log into your account and realize you have been suspended.
That is exactly how I was. I thought I was invincible to eBay suspensions, but guess what. It was a hoax. Waking up to that MC999 is like getting hit with a rusty bat to the stomach. $10,000 in sales a month all wiped away in just one short email. Felt like the world was against me. I have kids to feed, a mortgage to pay, hell, I even got life insurance when I didn't need it. But now I am starting to think it was necessary.
The truth of the matter is, eBay will screw you and stab you in the back. Just because you are doing well and making good sales. Don't think for one minute that this could be you. All your hard work and income can be shot in one email. For this matter, I went the path of stealth with the help of Auction Essistance. Is it hard? You bet. Is it legal? Hells yes. Is it the only way? Quite frankly, yes. When you are struggling to feed a family, barely hanging by the threads just to survive, you are going to fight.
Just because eBay suspended you doesn't mean you are out for good. Stealth may be the ticket to help you survive again. Do not lose hope and let eBay backstab you and win. This company has no remorse nor love for their sellers like they used to. They lost all of that. The company that used to care is gone. It is time to stand up and fight back.

I recently listed two items on one single sale and it sold. That same day, packed it up myself and took it to the post office to go out for early arrival. Buyer received product but then claimed item was broken. However, he claimed that the part that was broken was stuck in the bottle. Puzzled, I wondered how that could be as I packed them separately. He claimed it was not broken in shipment and that I sold the item broken. Then he offered to buy one but not the other. All conversations were on website so eBay resolution could read. I thought since it was clear that they were packed separately they would clearly see that the buyer broke it or at least lied about it.
So now I see that the seller was favored by eBay and they reimbursed him without even making contact with me, the seller. What horrible customer service. Now I just received the merchandise back from the seller which are broken and I have to repay eBay back for the funds they gave back to the buyer. It seems as though they favor the buyer and NOT the seller so I will NEVER buy or sell another thing on eBay. Highly disappointed with their service and lack of support for sellers.
Furthermore, after calling them twice, they advised me NOT to speak to the buyer so I thought they meant they would keep in contact with me. NOT TRUE! Why would anyone sell a broken item? That would be stupidity unless so claimed. IF it was a small amount I would still have the same reaction and I would chalk it up to a learning experience but that is not the case for me. I am so disappointed with eBay and angry as well. THINK TWICE about buying or selling with them. Never again for me.

I purchase an item on eBay. Didn't receive what was listed. Going back and forth with the seller throughout vulgar emails they sent me. Got a refund. I posted negative feedback. The seller defamed my character with a reply that had nothing to do with the actual purchase. She was angry because she got busted scamming people and I wasn't tolerating it. I asked eBay to remove the defamatory remark, but they wouldn't. I closed my account after 8 years. I can think of many other places that don't allow their Sellers to disrespect their customers while shopping. They don't deserve my hard earned cash. Case closed.

My computer got hack and an item was placed. When I called ebay and told them to retract the item. They told me to go through the process and send the email seller to cancel it. Now, given that as soon as I saw this transaction placed, I called eBay right away but they said they have any process to handle the retract. At about this time, my amazon also got hack and I called amazon and they handled very professionally.
Anyhow, after two weeks, apparently the seller did not ready the request and pushed the product to me. As soon as I received the product, I called ebay again. After more than 3 hours on the phone and agreed that I don't have to pay anything (Reference call: **). I was asked to send the request to return the product. I followed the advice. Two days later, I go the email to print out the return label. When I click on to print the label, it wanted to charge me for shipping it back.
Again calling the ebay, the guy named Raul (RAULO) (Reference: **) refused to honor the agreement previously stated that I should not pay anything. He simply stated that Ebay don't have this process to protect the buyer. Apparently, they cannot do anything. Please note that this item is cost only ~ $10. It looks like someone tries to attempt to see how much they can charge to my account. At this similar time on my Amazon, the hacker placed the order for the iphone and Amazon be able to stop it. Further than that, Amazon makes me feel like I'm very well protected.
My advice, don't buy anything on ebay. You will waste time talking with ebay customer service if you run into any problem. For this hack transaction, it's only $10 and they could not do a darn thing. So imagine if you buy something more than this? They will not protect you!!! If there's a rating lower than 1 star, I will give ebay this rating. ;-(

Once the case was closed in my favor they was suppose inform PayPal so they could release my funds. They did not handle the business properly. It took me two weeks to even get the correction going. I've been using eBay for several years for both buying and selling and I have to tell you, if you're a buyer, you totally benefit but if you're a seller, you do not. The problem with eBay is first - you have too many buyers that are fakes. Lot of times they claim that you sold them a defective item which I tested and packaged good before shipping it out. I try to bargain with them such as by keeping the item and I refund the buyer half but with no success. On top of that they want you to pay for the shipping when they return it to you. This happened to me several times.
Second is you can get insurance for this but the problem is that your purchase insurance and your shipping is higher and eBay nickles and dime you to death to the point that you are force to charge higher prices; therefore scaring off potential buyers because your cost is too high... TOO MAY CHEAPOS ON EBAY. The sellers that really benefit are ones that sell in volume with knock off stuff that barely lasts for a year or 2 or specialty items such as collectibles. I used to sell stuff around the house but to be honest my selling days are over on eBay, however I may use the site to buy only. I'm better off having a garage sell. Amazon does not have shady and cheap buyers. eBay has cheap and shady buyers.

eBay always make the buyer's win even when they steal from the seller. I have the tracking number from the item that I shipped with the sign of the person that received and even with this evidence he assured eBay he never received the item and they make me refund them. Beware. There are some bad people that knows this easy way to rob and are buying in eBay. Buyer username: ** (Beware).

On August 20, 2016 I sold a Princess Of Ireland Barbie Doll to a buyer for $19.35 including shipping. On August 22, 2016 I sent it out via USPS First class. Mail to the address the buyer specified. Then three days later on August 25, 2016 according to the tracking information from USPS.com the buyer refused the delivery in Portland, Oregon at 7:23 am. And the package was being returned to me. After informing the buyer of this they told me that they received packages from this address all the time without problem. Well, clearly there is now. I told them I was at a loss for what to do because this has never happened to me before. After told the package was being returned they said that they spoke with the people the package was sent to and they told them maybe the carrier delivered to the wrong area. Could I please verify the information with the post office. Which I spent most of Friday afternoon doing.
When I explained again that the delivery was still coming back as refused they said that I should wait until I received it and then try to resend it. Well, that never happened Sunday then 28th I was greeted by an email from PayPal telling me the buyer brought a complaint against me claiming I never shipped the doll or that it was not as described. I did send the doll. I had copies of the mailing receipts as well as the tracking information from USPS.com. showing the timeline of the delivery from my address to the package destination. The package was returned to me the following day.
So now it sits in my living room with a big yellow sticker on it saying refused unable to forward return to sender. On Tuesday August 30th I received an email from PayPal saying they ruled in favor of the buyer. After looking them up on eBay discovered they are based in Hong Kong - a huge piece of information they never bothered to tell me. If I had known this I never would have sold them that doll. My listing specifically state no international shipping. That's why it never made it to its destination not enough postage and no customs forms, two things unless I am mistaken, are still required to ship anything internationally. It only had enough postage on it to be shipped exactly where the buyer told me. Does eBay or Paypal care on. They gave the buyer a full refund and closed the case. I wrote a letter of complaint to eBay but I am fairly confident they will not lift a finger. I am looking into other sites other than eBay to sell on now.

Ebay decided to charge me fees that should've never been put on my account. I disputed these fees two weeks ago and was told I wouldn't be charged. Then yesterday I seen they charged my bank account. I called and disputed these fees again and they said they would "gladly" refund my money. Called back again today and now they are saying they won't refund my money! Account closed and I will NEVER buy or sell on eBay. So disappointed. And now I am out hundreds of dollars!!!

Did not receive item paid for. Filed a complaint. Seller kept sending proof of delivery (apparently) to resolution investigation. After research I found item was delivered to address in New Jersey. I live in Missouri. Seller did not check to see if they were sending to verified address. eBay resolution closed case because of the proof of delivery to unverified address. I feel cheated. Lastly... I gave unsatisfactory review to the seller. Crowning blow. eBay sends email to me saying they will not post negative feedback because they closed the dispute case in favor of the seller. So if powers that be can step in and take away feedback, how does anyone trust what buyers are saying about a seller? Been a buyer on eBay for over 10 years. I will be closing my account and dealing with stores directly. Item was only $25. I can get by and forget this sum of money. Don't want someone else to get cheated out of a bigger sum of money.

Let me tell you my story. I bought some items from a buyer on Ebay. The item was shipped to a hotel address in Georgia, because I was staying at that hotel at the time. The shipper at Georgia, however, refused to take the package to the hotel (maybe (s)he thought hotels did not take packages or (s)he was intimidated by the hotel idea or something). Thus, the package was marked "undeliverable as addressed, and was being sent back to the seller." I emailed the seller saying that the shipper refused to take the package to my address and the package was being sent back to him, and thus, I requested a refund. The seller agreed. However, I had been waiting for 3 weeks but have not received a refund, even though the seller was based also in Georgia, and package was sent from Georgia as well.
I emailed the seller, and he told me to wait. I waited some more, but still didn't get the refund. I complained to the seller. The seller, very unhelpful, asked Ebay to step in, instead of giving me a refund. Ebay judged in favor of the seller. I contacted Ebay, disagreeing with Ebay's decision because I couldn't lose my money for the items I hadn't received and it was not my fault. It was the shipper who automatically returned the item. I showed Ebay my purchase history, which indicated that several packages of mine had been sent to this address successfully before, so there was no mistake with the address. Ebay agreed, and gave me the refund. Everything solved, despite my disappointment at the seller and Ebay.
But it hasn't ended yet. A month later, that seller, out of nowhere, asked Ebay to take a look at the case again. It was the story of a month ago, and everything was solved already. Are you kidding me? I requested to close the case, and gave the seller 1 star due to the seller's poor communication with customers. Ebay refused to make my rating avail because of the reason I had no idea of (?).
In general, Ebay has a very poor communication with both sellers and buyers. Its system fails to track the packages and purchase transaction thoroughly, and thus causing much miscommunication between buyers and sellers. It's incompetence in solving conflicts between buyers and sellers also causes a lot of rifts among its users as well. I recommend using Amazon instead. I have been using Amazon for years and very satisfied with the website's functionality.

Buyer always wins. I have run into two situations now whereby the buyer of a product my company was selling claims the item arrived inoperable. This is highly unlikely since we tested the gear before we sold it, and we packaged the items extremely carefully. It seems to be a scam: the buyer claims the item arrived broken, knowing that eBay ALWAYS sides with the buyer (one buyer even wrote us an email telling us not to bother to contest his claim because he had done this many times and eBay always takes his side).
So, eBay gives the seller two options: buy the item back AND pay all shipping charges, or - get this - LET THE BUYER KEEP THE ITEM FREE. Well, gosh, if you're a buyer, just claim every single item you receive arrived broken and sure, in many cases the seller will just buy it back, but in a few cases - enough to make it worthwhile - the seller will just take the loss, and the "buyer" gets to steal stuff legally. I will never, ever sell on EBay again.

eBay has gone downhill in the last few years. Their rating is low for a reason. I have been selling on eBay for years. They allow purchasers to give you negative feedback. As a seller you can't leave negative feedback. So that means the buyer can lie and give you negative feedback for any reason. I suggest that you buy and sell on Amazon which has much better ratings and customer service is superior. When calling eBay you will be put on hold forever. Once they answer you get the runaround. If I could give them no stars I would.

I have made over 100 purchases on ebay over the last couple of years. The majority have been correct, easy transactions. I have enjoyed bidding on items I really wanted. But in the last month and half that has changed. I have not received the items (especially if my winning bid was low). I tried contacting the seller to get them to resend it and specifically said that I do not want a refund. They give a refund. Ebay said that they can only send another request for them to send the item but they can not make the seller send the item.
The latest is that I have received wrong coloured items (last 3 out of 7 items). I contacted the sellers to request the correct items but I know that the seller can just give a refund (without my consent) and the case would be closed, so I contacted ebay. I asked ebay to stress to the sellers that I want the correct item and not a refund, they said that they do not contact the sellers anymore. That explains why the sellers do not care to send an item or the correct item. One negative review will not do much. What about BUYERS' RIGHTS? So buyers beware, if you order something that you really wanted, you may very disappointed.

Let me say it straight... eBay sucks! Avoid at all cost! Used to have a profitable business on eBay as power seller, but they chosen to pick on us, that's fine! EBay continuously give sellers hard time with unfair rules, sellers cannot leave negative feedback even to scam artists, try to google 'PayPal chargeback scam'! Forget eBay, just sell traditionally, once they ran out of online sellers, they may reevaluate their way of doing business (or not). Who cares!

There is NOTHING good about eBay anymore. I find it very interesting that they rate their sellers with a star rating and their own star rating according to online reviews is a ONE to 1.5! If you run auctions 2 out of 5 sellers will not pay so you have to play around to get your seller fees back and relist the item, total PAIN. eBay wants sellers to offer FREE SHIPPING, well nothing is free so that comes out of profit. Their fees are SO HIGH because they barely have sellers anymore so the few stupid ones left are paying THEIR SALARIES. Feedback is rigged, the seller will ALWAYS LOSE.
It's a very outdated, horrible site. They add on stupid stuff all the time without getting rid of the previous stupid stuff so the site is HUGE and impossible to find anything, just MESSY. Call customer service, which you will have to do all the time if you sell, and you get 1 person that tells you one thing, call back and you get a different person that will tell you something completely different. There's NO buyers left on the site because of their deceptive practices so good luck selling! The site is filled with cheap dollar store JUNK from China. eBay was fun about 15 years ago. It was a reg. auction and a person won as a few questions about the item which involved me taking more pics of the item. After receiving it and noting a blemish on the item which I had detailed in the listing and sent additional pics of, the customer asked to return the item. It was no return and I responded that was the case. He appealed to ebay and they sided with him taking money from my account... After getting no satisfaction I quit ebay...
Fast forward 8 months, I rejoin ebay and have several transactions again. I am in need of a piece of equipment quickly for a customer and find a listing which states the item is "In Excellent condition, fully tested, but may have a couple minor scratches." I purchase the item and it shows up. I open the package and it is severely dented. I open the machine (it's a commercial coffee brewer) and it is FULL of limescale. I spend two days dissolving the limescale and cleaning it... and test the machine. Once up to temp it starts to leak like a sieve due to a defective valve. I contact the seller pointing out all these issues and ask for a rebate since I still need the machine.
They contact ebay who says that since I cleaned the machine, the seller was no longer responsible and they said they wouldn't refund any money (the valve cost me $100 and I spent hours fixing the issues, not to mention the dents). I appealed, and ebay again sided with the seller. I went in a wrote a negative review to protect other buyers from these unscrupulous people and ebay blocked the negative review!!! Unbelievable... They (Ebay Customer support) claimed that the Seller has supplied them information that according to the tracking number I have received the item. Now this was the first Lie. For each one of you - if you want to check the tracking information (of the last carrier) is ** of the Aramex - you will see that this item is under customs clearance since July the 7th.
I Have gave Ebay Customer Support all the information to check that I did not received the item and also explained to them that this item is not allowed to be imported to Israel Although it was Eligible as "Global Shipping Program" - this means that the seller or Ebay (one of them made a mistake) put this as an Eligible Global Shipping program and me as a customer thinking that If it is a Global Shipping Program Item and that I pay the taxes I will get it. WRONG. Ebay Someone as I have said made a mistake and not only that after I have sent some more information to Ebay Customer Support and showing them that I have not received the Item by easily checking the Tracking number of Aramex ** They asked me to get a letter from the customs that show that this item could not be imported to Israel. They gave me 5 days to get this letter. This was on Aug-8.
So I have contacted the Aramex Customs agent asking for the letter. He has replied that he will take care of it but since we are dealing with government office it will take more time. So I have contacted Ebay Customer Support and let them know that it will take more time to get the letter. Needless to Say that they did not contact me back (after 24-48 hours as they promise). They have contacted me today and let me know the following:
"Thank you for contacting us regarding the *US* Replacement Motor / wheel For 6.5" Smart Self Balancing Scooter Hoverboard, eBay item # 291751395155. My name is Rose and I am a specialist from eBay's Resolution Center. I want to make sure you are aware of the status of your appeal today. On August 8, 2016 we reached out to you asking for your cooperation to provide as a written document from Israel Post that you can't pick up the item. Our previous correspondence informed you that if we will not hear back from you, the case will be closed, and we will not be able to provide you with a refund.
Since we were not able to get the information we needed within the allotted timeframe, we are unable to grant the appeal. I understand that this is not the answer you want to hear today, and I appreciate your understanding in this difficult situation."
Of course I have written them back. And then they replied me with this: "After checking the email and your case I see that your case was place on hold to give time for your to provide documents that will serve as a proof on your claim but the hold expired and you did not provided the documents that the reason why we need to decide on your case and closed it on your seller's favor. And based on the tracking it shows that the tracking number does not show that it's prohibited and can't be picked up, in fact what it shows is that the item was already delivered. I'm glad I was able to clarify this for you and I wish you all the best on your future transactions."
So what Diana ** from Ebay Customer support is claiming that "I have received the Item" one can easily see according to the tracking number I gave (Aramex **) that it is still in customs clearance and that I did not received the item (I have added the tracking information from Aramex). My experience with Ebay. Ebay is a scam web site unlike Aliexpress and other you will never be safe On Ebay - most of the time every thing is OK because most of the sellers probably are good sellers BUT when you have a bad seller or Ebay has made mistake such as in my case YOU WILL NEVER SEE YOUR MONEY back. My conclusion DO NOT BUY ON EBAY. IT IS A SCAM.

After numerous calls and hours on the phone, I was not able to log back in due to a change in email address. After regretfully giving up... I continuously received purchase notifications and emails from buyers and could do nothing. I called eBay one more time for feeling guilty about accepting money through PayPal but not being able to see the shipment address or product and they said it's up to me to figure it out. Very rude customer service, terrible business practices and ZERO care for buyers. I will never use this business again.

On the same day (Sunday 7/31) I realized my honest mistake. I sent an email to cancel one of the item through eBay. They answer me after about 15 minutes on Sunday 7/31 saying "it too late to cancel". I repeated the request the same day, they answer me "price pounder is out of the office". Anyway, I waited until I received the item (Watson meat grinder $28.45+$1.71 tax) then I request to return the item. They said they will deduct $5.xx for restocking and I pay for reshipping and PayPal will charge $8.xx as fee. Now, how much left out of $30.16? For very simple and honest mistake. I think it is a game played in such situation by the seller, eBay and PayPal to retain most of the money, which I never see similar behavior for online order for past 25 year!!!

I tried to sell a CPAP machine. I know they say no sale of medical devices but when I saw they were letting everyone else sell theirs I figured I would try. 2 days later they pulled it. I called and they kept saying against eBay rules. I asked why they kept all others on and just jerked mine well. "If you report them we will take a look at them." So I have to do a big company's dirty work and report them. I told them I felt discriminated against. "Sorry you feel that way but we have a lot to look at." So they kept letting others sell them and so I looked at the others worded mine like theirs. Tried it again - no luck. 2 hrs later taken off again. Called again. Was told the same - report them. So I am aggravated because still could not sell so created new acct. Still took it down. Got message "Your selling privileges have been suspended for 3 days." No biggie so I called and argued about others being allowed to sell them. Got nowhere.
I said a big company like eBay and they do not have a program that pops up a red flag when someone types in CPAP machines. "If you give me item numbers I will send report to look into them." So I got missed reported many of them and watched auctions till the end. Lo and behold they did not remove any I reported so yeah I say it is discrimination no matter what... and why does the government let eBay rip off the post office by charging a final value fee on shipping. If someone looks at an auction and see shipping amount and thinks it's too high do not buy item find another. It is not eBay job to determine shipping. It is our job.
I charged 15.00 shipping. The other day eBay took 1.50 of it and actually shipping cost me 40.00. My bad but I did not care. It was my fault. Then I seen eBay charged me too. Now that is wrong and illegal. I thought well maybe sellers can start charging buyers a final value fee too to offsets eBay's crooked money hungry AH in charge of it and why has the gov. not checked into eBay for on shipping unreal to me. I tried to report them to BBB. They sent me here. Thanks and good luck to all who try to sell or buy on eBay. I wished yahoo.com still had their auction page that was where I started at...

Incidentally, about 12 years ago I bought 4 hubcaps from an eBay seller. They were junk, arriving in a battered box with no protection and did not resemble the picture. I called eBay. They said there was nothing they could do. I was out over $100.00 and put them down at the curb for someone to grab and make a few bucks at the swap meet. I don't need eBay's help all of a sudden that is incorrect. I feel the prices to sell keep going up with all these extra fees included. I was in the hospital for 2 wks with kidney failure. I went from an above standard seller to having my account restricted. I even emailed my customers from my hospital bed explaining my situation and they were fine with it.
In the meantime, a customer, a thief that goes by the username, wallets, took advantage of my situation and said he never received my package and was refunded $200!! When I got out of the hospital, it was a day before the deadline to dispute the situation. I had the tracking number that showed delivered on my eBay account. Somehow the idiot I was talking to could not find the confirmation showing delivered. So instead of taking the word of a trusted seller, they reimbursed a thief... I was out two 20 mile round trips, once to mail the package, then a second return to pick it back up. I received negative feedback. When I reached eBay customer service "Pakistan/India", the non-English speaking representative said there was nothing I could do about the negative feedback.
After 10 minutes of broken English argument I got that I would have to go back to the post office and get a certifiable non-deliverable letter from the post office before any further consideration would be made by eBay. I told him to read the PayPal (giant red letters) non-certified address. I QUIT EBAY today. My advice... Don't deal with eBay. They were advised by PayPal that this was potential fraud. When I wouldn't do this they triggered a complaint through Paypal. I immediately approved their fees to be returned but still suffered through bad feedback by the scammer. In addition, eBay charged transaction fees for the sale which had already been terminated. To get my money back required them keeping it for 10 days interest free. It is clear that eBay and PayPal allow and encourage criminal activity on their website in the name of profits. They make it the responsibility of the consumer to prove their criminal activity before taking action and change their policies to make it difficult for the consumer to identify and eliminate the criminal activities. Purchased an item that was dropped shipped to Austin, TX and when I received the tracking number the only thing I could was the Austin address. I contacted the seller because the item was damaged. The seller said he would replace it but to give him 3-4 weeks.
At the end of the four weeks I contacted eBay and was told the time to file a claim had elapsed. I contacted PayPal and filed a claim. PayPal denied the claim because they could not verify the returned item even though I provided a USPS tracking number that shows the item was delivered. I contacted eBay to get the sellers phone number. eBay provided me with a phone number that was obviously fake. I insisted that the eBay rep verify the number and when he came back on the line, he agreed the number did not exist. (The area code provided was 945. Look it up and you will find it does not exist.)
I contacted the seller by email sent him a copy of the email he sent me 7 weeks prior stating he would replace the item. He responded he did not receive the item and that if I came to his shop to exchange the item he would replace it. His shop is in overseas so I would have to fly overseas of miles to resolve this issue. It is clear to me this individual never intended to make good on a damaged item that was sold as new. What it boils down to is eBay and PayPal make more money off these criminal enterprises than they make off individual customers and are more interested in their profits than their individual customers.

Sent the item to the purchaser and the day it was delivered, they sent me a very nasty e-mail: "Got the "kate spade" purse. This bag is a fake. There is no country of origin tag. I want my money back now!" Told buyer where the tag was inside of the purse, to which she acknowledged finding it. She proceeded to complain because the tag said the purse was made in China. Next argument was that the purse was fake because it was made in China. Then after I told her that I had 3 other Kate Spade bags that all said that, she proceeded to argue that the bag was not leather. She asked another seller on eBay what the leather should feel like, and used this third party's advice to tell me the bag was not real.
3 Ebay reps advised me to not communicate with the seller who was harassing me and bullying me at this point. They also said to let them open a case, this way Ebay could intervene and have the buyer take the purse to an authentic retailer to verify. Well, within 20 minutes of Ebay intervening, they decided in favor of the buyer. The bag was never requested to be brought to a Kate Spade Store and they never asked the buyer to send them a photo of the tag. Ebay also refunded the buyer's payment BEFORE I had the purse back in my possession. Now I have a negative review on my account, which Ebay claims does not qualify for removal and I lost my money from the sale.
As you can see from my photos, the bag is 100% Cow leather. When I called Ebay to advise them that the item the customer received, was exactly the item described in my listing, they said they already made a decision and the case was closed. According to eBay policy it is the seller's responsibility for the item to reach the buyers and safely and in as described condition. But if for whatever reason the buyer decide to return the item even if it comes back broken, or you get an empty box or a rock instead, eBay will go into your account and refund the buyer and the buyers has absolutely no responsibility to make sure the item gets back to you as described. I returned it via economy post as they request (I now realise why, as obviously they can claim it hasn't been received with no tracking). eBay have altered their policies so reviews cannot be left after 60 days. This whole drama has lasted longer than that and this policy only seems to benefit the buyer. The buyer is also selling under a different name now and frequently changing their email contact which appears to only be for their benefit also and as they are not being genuine, obviously there would be no need if they were. eBay seems to be enabling sellers to defraud customers and for that reason I won't be going near them ever again.

I didn't receive my concert ticket and then they are keeping the $104.50 that I used on eBay gift card.

EBAY sends me deals on selling items with a reduced selling fee rate often and I have used some of them. The latest one they sent me said a $1 selling fee. I sold an item and they charged me their usual 10% selling fee. I disputed it with my credit card company, which they arrogantly ignored, and sent me another bill. So I called them (India). The wait was 28 minutes for a callback. They denied that they sent the email. They did send it because it links directly to my account to pay them or else. They claim it was a spoofed email and told me to send it to spoof@ebay.com.
If it was then who are the beneficiaries of the spoof? Follow the money and everything leads to EBAY. Their auto reply to sending it to them reads to go to "My Messages" for anything from them. This is incorrect as it should be "MY eBay, then MESSAGES" They never before warned about doing this. Their list only goes back to May 31. How convenient for them as their original emails were earlier in May. This is both greed and fraud. EBAY cannot be trusted and the corporate officers should serve hard time.

Back in May my old blender finally succumbed to planned obsolescence so I needed a new one. I'd once seen a Vitamix demo and really liked it, so I started my search there but settled on a Blendtec since it is more powerful, and I'm a guy. I found the model I wanted and a very good price on eBay for a new one. I ordered and paid. The next week I got an email telling me it was to arrive on June 13th. On June 14th I hadn't receive it so I contacted the seller who responded immediately that they would investigate and it could take up to 8 business days. After 10 days I tried again and reached out to eBay. This dragged on another two weeks until they closed my case saying it was delivered on June 8th and signed for.
The fact that I was 300 miles away with both my kids (with boarding passes to prove it) was apparently not relevant and I was told I needed to file a claim with UPS. UPS told me the sender is supposed to file the claim, but did look into it and found that it had not actually ever been delivered or signed for and it was lost. But, it was up to the seller still to file a claim. I got crickets from the seller and eBay told me "Oh, your case is closed. We found in favor of the seller and we can't reopen it." This was after I gave them the case # from UPS stating the package had been lost! Lots of calls and emails later, I finally got my refund and bought a blender from Amazon. It was $50 more, but I actually got it and felt comfortable that if I didn't, I would be taken care of without all the hassles. Bottom line, an eBay bargain isn't always a bargain and don't believe their hype about taking care of the customer.

I've been an eBay seller for 10 years and have always maintained 100% positive feedback and above standard performance. All the new 'changes' eBay has made has been making it harder and harder for sellers to manage their businesses. Recently I have had 3 bad experiences with shady buyers, who eBay has 'catered' to at my expense and loss. All the buyers have to say now is that the item was damaged and not only do I have to refund 100% including shipping but they also get to KEEP THE ITEM. This is ridiculous as eBay requires them to provide a photo of the damage, the photo I saw was so obviously fake and photo-shopped. But GOOD ENOUGH FOR eBay!
I lost over $1000 in money I had to refund and another $1000 in loss of item. This caused my Paypal account to be negative, and they made my personal bank account negative. I have now received over $150 in NSF charges as well as my other payments are not going through because of the jam and I'm receiving more NSF charges from my bank. On top of all this, I'm not able to leave a negative feedback on the buyer's profile to warn others, as this is no longer an eBay seller feature, lol. Now I'm getting a massive fee tacked onto my now outstanding bill for cancelling my store subscription early. Thanks for SCREWING me eBay!! However, eBay has listed 5,606 items almost identical to what we had listed. After a long phone call to customer service and no answers from them - just more nonsense about looking into it - we now await a call back from yet another department. Even though I sent them the invoice from the manufacturer they still ruled in the buyer's favor. I agreed to refund the buyer, but before the buyer returned the item eBay refunded the payment and shipping to them from my PayPal account without any approval from me. The final determination stated that a full refund would be provided after receipt of the item's return.
Being the buyer was refunded before the item was returned the buyer decided to keep the item. I contacted eBay but was told since the buyer from Switzerland filed the claim with eBay Germany I would need to contact eBay Germany to file an appeal. I attempted this and was told an eBay Germany agent would contact me within 24 hours. Guess what... the call never came. I sold the item on the eBay US site. EBay told me to call in earlier this week promising me a refund if I escalated the opened case, and was lied to again now being told to return the item in the same used condition to get the refund. When I explained that the seller kept sending rude messages they ignored it, and that was with 3 different representatives. I highly suggest no one buys electronics from eBay expecting to get the money back if there are mishaps with the purchase, because there are too many scamming sellers on there and their money guarantee involves too much to get a simple refund. When it comes to eBay never trust them! They are the most paranoid morons out there. You would think after 3 years and buying over $40k of merchandise they'd trust a person who has no complaints. Every single time you start buying things from them, especially multiple items, they give you this BS message saying that your PayPal account isn't available and to contact PayPal.
It's the same old BS runaround. You'll call PayPal. They'll tell you nothing's wrong, then you call EBay and they put the blame somewhere else. EBay is SUPER PARANOID and does not trust anyone, nor should you trust them! Buying items low priced around $5 to $15 for my online store. All of the sudden, we start getting a BS message that says "Paypal isn't available. Here are your options" yet Paypal is an option! Oh they want you to take out a line of credit so they can hit you with 19% interest, but no seeing how you can't use your own PayPal account to make a simple $5 purchase! There is absolutely nothing wrong with our PayPal account, they have over $40k of transactions spanning 2 1/2 years without a single complaint. It's EBay's typical BS message that gets triggered when you start buying at a specific time and a specific amount. No wonder we are moving over to Amazon, eBay Sucks!

If you deal with a bad seller and eBay will not help - they never do - you can submit a complaint about the particular seller here: **. Ebay's "buyer protection" is a scam and covers nothing. I learned this firsthand when a rather expensive item was returned by the post office (their mistake) to the seller, who then manipulated the tracking information by removing the part that indicated that the item had been returned to her. Ebay does not check; they take the seller's word even after you submit the actual document. Ebay customer service advised me to "ask her nicely" for a refund - on an item that had been returned to her; that I did not receive. She was not required to do so by eBay and so declined to refund the money.
Suffice to say, eBay sellers know how to work the system and when you do not receive your item, eBay will side with them. Keep in mind that my seller kept the item in question AND my payment for said item. Ebay feedback is a scam. Ebay does not allow negative feedback on sellers and you therefore cannot rely on feedback to decide whether to trust a seller. The five-star review you see is probably helped along quite a bit by the 5,000 negative reviews that eBay removed. This works directly against the possibility of honest business transactions.
Keeping money for a sale when the customer did not receive the item is internet fraud. This is a crime. Report the specific seller and report eBay for their collaboration. Be brief, specific, and submit supporting documents. Avoid eBay at all costs. Close your account. Consumers have other options. Before you do this, though, submit a complaint. It may help you and it will potentially protect others.

Basically older model cheap laptops for people who can't afford high price new ones, but most cases & few scams comes from feedback 0. Some with feedback up to 8 but still, they demand on return items. Then they won’t. They open case & won’t respond... WHY? When these noobs don’t know much about ebay & as soon as they come to ask the seller a question, ebay offers this questions:
I have a question about using my item or I want to send the seller a message (0); I didn’t receive my item (2); I need to return my item (1); I received an item that wasn't as described (1); Request to cancel this order (1). AND NONE OF THEM CHECKED! Well guess what, most noobs don’t know what the shucks going on ebay, so the pick I want return it:( Boohoo question. But wait, I as a seller offer NO ** Return. Why are they asking to return? In the best case “Is there anything wrong with item? No! So wtf? Uhhm uhhm I don’t like it. It’s not what I assume it will be. Oh, well may offer some partial refund makes you happy? Oh, ok sounds good." But when contacted ebay for those who actually want to return, they back the buyer 100%. I am like wait, wtf? I am a seller, I other sellers stop selling on ebay, then who’s gonna sell? Sales going down, right?
I had a case last month. They gave me 7 days to refund OR THEY WOULD AUTOMATICALLY REFUND THE MONEY! WTF? Lucky the buyer actually sent the item back after 30 days, which I AGAIN OFFER NO RETURN POLICY! HAHAHA :D Ebay is a ** Joke. So since ebay is a giant A.H. & will not assist the seller, I personally put this on very top of my sale page: If your feedback is less than 10: Contact me before buying any item from us! Otherwise your order will be Cancel & your Id will remain in Block list & Will be reported.
Due to too many new members causing too many problems I personally will cancel any sale under No circumstances & due to not reading this note your order WILL BE CANCELED because you diffidently don't understand what it means. Therefore you haven't read this page & will cancel because buyer has change their mind. REGARDLESS!!! Is it rude? I don’t give rats behind, but when I get a 0 feedback noob, I just do what I have to do. I encourage you sellers to do the same & don’t sell anything to noobs unless you approve it.

I spoke to 3 different level workers at the company from line hand to senior manager and still no joy in solving my problem. If it's not on the card they are working from then they cannot answer or try to bluff you into holding the line in a stalling procedure so you get fed up and hang up. My problem. I sold an item to a buyer in the U. S (I live and sell from the U. K). I shipped the item to a P.O. BOX address using Royal Mail. I then had a mail from the buyer saying the tracking number that was listed on the details at eBay was invalid. I sent a copy of the receipt as proof of posting to the buyer after he had opened a case with eBay for item not received. I also politely informed him that no Postal service provider will ship to any P.O. BOX address and give a signed for and tracked number which I thought strange.
As soon as the case opened I refunded the buyer his money back. A week later I then get a NEGATIVE feedback for failing to deliver the item to his address. I was being blamed for not delivering the item with the action of the feedback yet I did everything correctly as per eBay sellers policy (I had 100% feedback Trusted eBay seller and power seller status). Below is our letter to eBay Customer Support asking for appeal, attached is the answer from the eBay Customer Support Joy **. It looks like the appeal took 2 hours or less (from the time the message was received by Customer Support and the time they sent us the answer), which sounds like another automatic response.
Hello E-Bay Customer Support, we've been a seller on eBay for more than 10 years. It's been a good way for us to sell and make money. In February, I was taken to an emergency room with cardiac arrest and spent 10 days in the hospital. My wife could not watch our eBay store, could not maintain the inventory, and decided to cancel some orders when there was no inventory without realizing the consequences for future eBay store business. After returning home in March, there was a message on the dashboard of BELOW STANDARD performance and a limit to how many items we can list. We contacted eBay. Your representative was very nice, explained to us that if we wish to continue selling, sending orders on time, then our performance will improve. In the mean time, he increased the limit. So we listed more items.
At the same time, we decided to have 2 selling accounts with eBay: one for electronic parts and one for socks. Your representative told us on the phone that there is no problem having 2 stores and that these stores will be independent from each other, though they have the same PayPal account. Since March we've been selling in both accounts, sending orders on time and getting positive feedback from customers. To our surprise, on June 6 our listing was closed on both accounts. Your representative could not help us on the phone and suggested that we appeal by writing via e-mail.
We are asking that our listings be restored on both accounts and to give us enough of a limit to list, since socks come in a varieties of sizes and colors. We understand that eBay is a huge organization and a lot of decisions are made by computer programs. But any successful business has a human face and compassion. We are counting on your understanding. If you have any suggestions, or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. Looking forward to your reply and hopefully to a successful mutually beneficial business together.

I am in agreement with all the other negative reviews about eBay's new policies which are hurting sellers. I have bought and sold on eBay for more than 15 years. I have always been a highly-rated seller until recently. The only problems I have encountered over the years is with the few consumers who refuse to take any responsibility on their part of the transaction. With eBay policies now, it's even worse letting consumers run rampant over sellers. I have had more bad episodes in the first 6 months of this year, then I have had in all the other years I have dealt with eBay. It is both frustrating, and sad. I am now being blocked from posting any new listings, getting this message when I try: "Your limits can't be increased at this time because your seller performance is Below Standard." The reason I am all of a sudden below standard is the new policies.
The only way that any of the new policies would make sense is if eBay were strictly a "retail" site, which it is not. Forcing small time sellers to absorb costs of returns, wasted time, bad feedback from scammers, promising one day handling, etc., etc. It's ridiculous. eBay wants all these "new" shoppers, but they must realize if they do not have people selling, there can be no buyers. I am hoping that some of the other selling sites are taking note, and doing whatever they can to get new business from all the people fleeing eBay. I have already started doing research on other sites to sell on.

I am not only speaking from my own experience but for all my friends on the net and strangers contacting me about the eBay issue. I think this company needs to get buried for good. And for 5 reasons: 1) Their money back guarantee is a scam and can lure the one in a pickle to lose the opportunity if they get the wrong help from the supporters on eBay. I got lured to make the claim on another site. What they didn't tell me was that the claim is GLOBAL but the SUPPORT LOCAL. So I went and closed the claim on UK site and went to do the claim on the American site. But I have closed the claim. I tried to plea for help but once you do something wrong you will not get the "help" you desperately need to reopen the claim.
2) Help to make the purchase go through. Sometimes you are allowed by the seller to bid on an item she advertised to sell to UK only. But I agreed to pay the extra postage if I would win the auction. So I did on many occasions. But the three last times I wanted to pay I couldn't even REQUEST a TOTAL from the seller. We had to use all kinds of tricks so I could pay the poor seller. I really don't know what the problem is on this site but I am no longer a fan of eBay anywhere.
3) Get the product home. Well if I got through the hurdle of sending a total request, here comes next problem! Pitney Bowes comes into play. I will now have to pay two postages for one package. One from the seller to the central of Pitney Bowes in the country that I pay and... from that country to the pick-up office in my city. This one I pay too. So why can't the seller get the postage money? Well that's because eBay sends the seller details to send it within his/her own country. NOT MY ADDRESS!!! She sends it with a number that arrives to Pitney Bowes. They add a sticker with my address and to my pick-up office. Normally a package takes 3-5 days from UK to Sweden. But with the eBay way it can take over 10 days.
4) Well you paid for the item but the seller is a hoax. I say thank God for PayPal! If it weren't for them I would be stiffed by both the scammer and eBay. The sellers account got taken away and I would normally be reimbursed the money for the bogus seller. If it weren't for the BOGUS EBAY SUPPORT giving me lies;
5) The simplest step of them all - closing the account. That would normally take 1-3 days. NO with eBay this can take up to 60 days. I read daily on eBay on social media. B.t.w. eBay have banned me from their social media to make comments. Well here I am making it clear to everyone that eBay is not to be taken seriously. They are scam artists and should have their company closed down. For making customers a living hell trading on their sites. I demand that their company to get closed down.
Thank you for reading this. I hope I helped out someone from making their biggest mistake to open an account on eBay. At least I am taking an active part to help out my fellow man & woman. Take care people & give trust to those who deserves your trust!

The following day, she re-sold the clothing and eBay sided with her! Do NOT do business with eBay!!!

I purchased two mechanical keyboards from extrememicro. The keyboards were Ajazz Geek AK33 Backlit USB Wired PC Gaming Mechanical Keyboard Black Switch. I got a white one and a back one. Well it wasn't completely my intentions, but I bid on two, to ensure I would win at least one, but won both. Now that is fine and it's not part of my complaint against eBay. My complaint is that you have only a small window of opportunity to leave feedback for the item received.
For example, any keyboard should last you, at least, 8 months to a year. Well both of these keyboards are currently not working, not at all. They were ordered March 24, and took over a month to arrive, as they were coming directly from China. It's now July 3rd. But the worst part about this, is I can't go to eBay and leave this keyboard a bad review, because it's already past the time I can leave one. I have given eBay feedback about this problem in the past, but obviously they don't think it's necessary to change their policy on this. I don't recommend purchasing any electronic or mechanical items from eBay unless you are very familiar with the product or the company or individual selling them. Otherwise you're most likely to find yourself in a similar situation.

Purchased a pair of shoes that were advertised as a bigger size than the pair I was sent and quite obviously didn't fit. Contacted seller who refused refund unless I pay return postage and a "20% restocking fee". With postage and that fee, I would be paying almost the amount I would for the shoes and getting nothing for it. The seller removed the sizing chart from the item description shortly after I raised the issue, but I managed to get a screenshot of it beforehand. Contacted eBay who said the seller is not allowed to charge a restocking fee and that I was entitled to a full refund with the seller paying for postage since it was their fault they falsely advertised the item. Well that all sounded great but unlucky for me, I wasn't aware of the hidden clause in eBay's so called "buyer protection - 30 day money back guarantee" that if I happen to submit a dispute via PayPal, I am no longer entitled to the eBay buyer protection.
I mistakenly thought eBay and PayPal were the same company and that it didn't matter which way I did it. But turns out this is not one silly, little mistake. eBay and PayPal are now separate companies and if you happen to speak to PayPal about a transaction gone wrong, eBay will turn their back on you and rescind any buyer rights you had, had you not have spoken to PayPal. This sounds so ridiculous as I'm writing it that I can barely wrap my head around the sheer lunacy of this rule. What's worse is that this happens to be a hidden clause in eBay's terms and conditions that is not disclosed to buyers at any time, nor are buyers asked to accept or agree to such terms.
It would be so simple to just click a single button and cancel the PayPal claim (which apparently guarantees nothing as far as eBay buyers getting the short end of the stick goes) and then click another button on eBay's site instead. But no, you've already clicked this other button, so you can no longer click our button which will get you the immediate help that you need with this. Because you've clicked the bad button, we at eBay no longer acknowledge you as a buyer at our site or give you the same rights other buyers have. This is dishonest, downright fraudulent business practice and I will never be shopping with eBay again.

I went to the post office. They said the mailman couldn't find the address and the item was returned to the shipper. Contacted the shipper several times asking for a refund. Never received it. I opened my eBay account when they first became a "thing". I have sold and purchased over 200 items, but haven't sold recently. I tried to sell an item this week. It took me 8 phone calls, with 8 different answers given, to get this transaction completed. It wouldn't let me list. I was told that my selling limit was zero, then told that it wasn't. Every person at eBay that I spoke with had a different answer. I also have had PayPal since that started too. I have sold items upwards of $800.00. This week, I sold an item, and they have placed a "hold" on my funds, with no warning, and not until after the transaction, and an email that said "ship now". I offered free shipping, and planned on using proceeds of the sale to ship the item. The "link" that might explain why my funds were held doesn't work, and there was NO warning that MY money would be delayed. I wouldn't have sold in a 1 day auction if I didn't need the money.
I was advised that in order not to have funds held, you must sell 25 items in 90 days to release the money hold. So basically, you have to be a "store". eBay used to be a place to sell things you no longer wanted or needed. Now it is basically a platform for e-commerce for businesses, and clearly this is who they want as customers. I am doubting that I will ever list an item for sale there again. I am out my money until they feel like releasing it, and have cost me financially, as this item was being sold because I needed the money right away. If you are going to have policies, eBay, make sure that they are accessible and clearly spelled out BEFORE you allow someone to list an item for sale. EIGHT people in "customer service" that I spoke with, not ONE mentioned this, and the links that state "where is my money", or "why is PayPal holding my money", do not work. Awful.

After two hours seller called us and said "Sir, these are good trays and please use them. They are imported and I can't do anything."
We called eBay and the arrogant person on the other side said "Please read our guarantee conditions, we do not take back products on quality issue." eBay earlier supplied us four AA size Ni Mh rechargeable batteries. We found they are dead and cannot be charged. We complained to eBay. The reply was same. I have lost Rs 1455 to this cheating by eBay. This company should not harm other companies. This issue is over customer loyalty not $. I am an established 14-year seller with 100% rating, not one complaint. eBay sided with the customer with little research and provided no support to the seller around my own complaint and did not even acknowledge my appeal. It is impossible to get anything done on the website as it is a vicious loop. I even contacted them by phone and they were unsupportive. The Customer was rude, negative, angry and lied about the product I sent.
eBay paid the customer a full refund without my permission and charged me for overnight shipping of product back to me based on eBay decision with no proof of accusations. I did not authorize return of this product to me. eBay did, MY LISTING CLEARLY STATED NO RETURNS. Buyer provided no proof disc was missing, she stated discs were "all" scratched, cover torn: This is simply not true. I counted discs before they were wrapped twenty in box. eBay sided with customer and obviously did not read all the correspondence between the two of us. eBay provides no protection to sellers. Buyer said she took a video opening the package. She did not provide video, unless she opened the package at P.O. tampering could happen.
Customers opinion of very good is different from the sellers. SOME had minor scratches. Set is old, viewed 2x some never. All discs worked beautifully. USED product sold for $30.00, 25% of original cost. Customer email stated "wanted as gift" cover torn in 4 places. Photo used on eBay is of actual box, no tears visible actual box. No inquiries prior to purchase. I believe she wanted a near new or new product and because it is used lied about all the discs being there.
First email from buyer, demanding. Continued with personal attacks, accused me of yelling re: for not obtaining insurance stating that wouldn't cover scratching or tearing. Accused me of not caring and telling her it was her problem and also accused me of being condescending. Had emails been reviewed by eBay conclusion would have shown my truthfulness and her lying. I basically told her my ad stated there was no return on this product. I filed a complaint with eBay about her stalking and harassing me and eBay did not acknowledge my concern with this buyer or acknowledge my appeal after their decision.
6/21 spoke to Diane @ eBay CS at **. Diane stated decision based because no photo of all 20 discs and their condition. Buyer could have requested more photos before purchase.I asked in my appeal for them to Please provide proof which led to the decision in favor of the buyer. BUYER BEWARE: Purchased a replacement truck grill 14 months ago from the eBay seller Larry ** (fordtruckgrill) #**, the chrome has started to peel/flake off. I contacted the seller, sent him pics and he immediately accused me of peeling off the chrome and refused any contact info of the manufacturer or any suggestions of a resolution. Since my previous grill lasted approximately 13 years, I feel it is possible this may be a product defect and is a big cost to me since the cost with shipping was over $200.00. eBay does not allow any alerts against a seller if it has been a significant time since purchase therefore any product deficiencies can never be reported if they occur at a later date.
Appears eBay protects the seller at the expense of all buyers since buyers cannot do a review on the seller at a later date and eBay has no "problem resolutions" for any product failures or defects if it is not identified within their time frames. So BUYER BEWARE. Even with a highly rated seller you may be getting inaccurate ratings on that seller from eBay simply by them preventing the buyer from reporting poor seller resolutions, delayed product defects and/or product deficiencies to alert future buyers.

Sellers on eBay have found all the loopholes! And, buyers are having their pockets picked in the process. Sure, it's a seller's market because they know it best; it's how they make money, so they (or at least the entrepreneurial ones) have figured out how the technology works, and some have learned to game the system in the process. Take Fiscloset, an international seller on eBay. We won't bore you with the details, but suffice to say, a non-eBay venue is the only place we get to let anyone know that we had a bad experience with Fiscloset, because Fiscloset figured out how to work the eBay system so that we would never be allowed to complain about them, or present our side of the case, or even leave feedback!
Sound bitter? You're darned right we are. Yes, it was only $30, of which half was shipping, for an item that weighed a few ounces at best. And, by, international seller, we mean Canada. Not that Canada doesn't count, it does, and very much so whenever one of its sellers finds a way to work around the laws and procedures we here in America have fought so hard to protect; and that includes even our right to complain about some things as mundane (and let's face it, not very important in the scheme of things) as excessive shipping charges, damaged items, rude emails, and downright sneaky phone calls and yes, even, dare we say it, lies made to unsuspecting eBay agents, who take the call, and the bait, and press the buttons the sellers lead them over to because these are the buttons (as such sellers have learned) that will effectively silence their critics.
Want to make a return? System says "sorry, no returns for you" (because seller told the eBay agent that the item indeed was as described and just had a few wrinkles which, c'mon, is to be expected when shipping silk! Agent doesn't have time to realize that buyer has not had a chance to present their side yet and, anyway, how can seller possibly know for certain the condition of an item that arrived at someone else's home... thousands of miles away?).
Want to leave feedback? No feedback for you! Seller has once again managed to steer the Nice Agent into the bad zone; because Seller convinced the first agent to close the case before we could even present our side, upload our MANY pics, etc, seller is somehow able to effectively convince the next agent that we shouldn't be allowed to leave feedback that says we had a bad experience here, the item wasn't as described, etc. because, hey, after all, we did "lose" the case. Never mind that there are about a zillion reasons why both buyers and sellers lose their cases, other than because eg the other party did everything right and was just wonderful and is not deserving of any negative feedback here.
Um, many times, folks lose a case because they didn't respond in 48 hours... because eg they didn't have time that week to log on to eBay as soon as they got home (from eg that multi-million dollar deal closing or, from bringing their kid back from the hospital) and spend half an hour uploading pics and writing the facts down about the smelly, damp, full of holes brand new dress they just opened up after they paid some stranger $20 bucks for it (and just about another as much in shipping charges, which, again, you can never complain about now that Seller has gamed the system).
But we digress--we promised we wouldn't bore you with the details. But, we can't help it: it's a place to vent, and we want to be able to at least let someone know our side. Sure, it's only $30 or $40 bucks. But that isn't an inconsequential amount of ** when you consider just opening up the car window, pulling two fresh 20s out of your wallet (ok, who carries cash anymore? But, we can imagine, a back in the day example...), and just tossing those twenties out the window. Suddenly, $40 bucks seems a bit more meaningful in that context. And,that is precisely the context here; we've effectively just thrown $40 out the window, so, yeah, we want to ** about it for a second. And, we want to explain what happened, because in our case, it's more like someone reached in the car, grabbed the $40 from our paw, and bolted... after they bound and gagged us so we wouldn't tell anyone.
Well, this is America! And we have the right, literally, to tell whomever we want. As long as we are honest and we essentially don't scream "fire" in a public theatre (Clearly, the rules are a bit more complicated than that, to say the least, but this is the relevant gist)... then, we have every right to shout from the rooftops, eg "Hey, America, Fiscloset on Ebay was a brutal experience for us: the item arrived a mess; the seller was rude and impatient; and somehow the seller conned eBay into silencing us (by convincing them somehow into closing the case before we could even respond or present our pics)!" And somehow they also conned eBay into removing our (actually quite polite and subtle, considering the truth about what actually happened and how we really feel about it) feedback; which effectively precludes us from ever leaving feedback on this item because of how eBay's technology works.
And, this is neither slanderous nor libelous, regardless the medium I choose to express our opinions in. And that's just it: This IS America, this is our opinion, and we are darn well entitled, literally, to it. And, the other beautiful thing about this amazing country, is our undeniable right to express this opinion in about a zillion places or than eBay, and your undeniable right to leave if you don't like it. Buh-bye. PS: We had a horrible experience when we purchased from Fiscloset on eBay and we would say to anyone who asks, "Buyer beware If you're even thinking about buying from Fiscloset on eBay." God Bless America!

Whilst their female customer advisors tried to be helpful their male customer advisors were arrogant and patronizing. Then in an effort to cover up their incompetence they sent me an email telling me they had attempted to deliver the furniture but l was out. However the time they said they called, l was in all the afternoon and there was no attempt to deliver at all. I eventually l got the furniture and the actual item was ok.
I did not give any feedback for this company on eBay and definitely wouldn't have given good feedback re the service, if l had. I was then gobsmacked to read today that feedback has been written about this company, claiming it's my feedback to the effect l said 'good communication and great to do business with'. My experience was the opposite and would have written so if given the opportunity. During the lead up to the actual delivery and many let downs by this company l threatened to leave unfavourable feedback on eBay. When I made the purchase, an error message came up that it would not accept my credit card info. As I had a commitment to buy, I contacted customer service to have them remove the commitment without me getting a mark against me on my account. They told me the problem was with the seller and how they had their receiving of payment setup. I was told they would contact the seller and get them to correct it and they cancelled my order. I also sent an email to the seller and explained to them the issue. I received a response from the seller that they accept credit cards but not PayPal.
Thinking the problem was solved, I again attempted to purchase the adapter but with a different card. I received the same error message on my visa card. I thought the sale would not happen so I bought a different adapter from Amazon.com. The next day I reviewed my credit card transactions and saw that my card was charged for the adapter on eBay. I attempted to contact the seller to confirm the order and got no reply. I then contacted eBay to have them resolve the issue. I told them it was not showing up on their site for the purchase but that the money was taken from my visa card. They told me that there was really nothing they could do because it was a merchant account and they couldn't track those as easy as PayPal. I was shocked because the entire foundation of their business is based on trust in transactions. They set themselves as a mediator between seller and buyer and promise fair and safe transactions.
Now they have the audacity to say they can do nothing. I explained all of that to the customer service agent and he agreed that those accounts were problems because of their loss of control in the transaction. I asked him why they continued with a practice of allowing these accounts that cause problems and violate their promise of trusting them to ensure transactions are good. He agreed it should be changed, but that I was still out of luck.
So now eBay is condoning sellers ripping people off of their money on eBay's site. I had to tell him that there were things they could do such as pressure the seller or terminate their account. He agreed they could and said he would send an email to the seller to "ask about it" but that there were no promises of resolution or an answer from the seller. I once again pointed out their business model of trust in transactions and how all of this violated it. I then told them to delete my account and that I would never buy or sell with them again. So now I've paid for a product that I'll probably never see and eBay has the nerve to tell me there is nothing they can do about it. I then made inquiries with USPS and they told me that the item would have to be returned to the seller as unable to deliver. I then followed the tracking until it was returned. I then made another attempt to contact them but again no response from the seller. I waited another 2 days and tried to contact them again but no response. So I gave them a negative feedback and opened a case with eBay. Within 12 hours eBay responded in favor of the seller, closed my case, and removed the negative feedback. I tried to reason with eBay but they refused to look into it anymore. I told eBay that I want either the battery or a refund and they refused both as did the seller. In my case I accidentally relisted several items that had previously sold. When this "sold" items re sold I explained and refunded the buyer. After explaining to eBay customer service what had happened I was informed there were no exceptions. I could not relist, in my case, for 3 weeks. Come on eBay, have you ever heard of discretion. I contacted eBay and PayPal and opened a case but either company will not assist me with getting the item back or the funds. Seller beware. The protection policy does not protect you. Being for 11 years with eBay and having a 100% feedback, eBay restricted my accounts on 3 eBay stores, which I closed immediately for being unable to repost the items but had to pay the fees. We moved from Philadelphia to Florida and many stamps stitched together due to the move. Before shipping I always checked the items and when I've seen the damages before shipping I notified the buyer with the damages and that I'm unable to ship him/her the stamps. Because of that everything started the tumble with eBay. I tried to explain the situation but were not accepted.
Now eBay is punishing me with all my 3 other stores, and many other sellers like me for being honest telling the customers the truth. THAT'S THE MESSAGE I RECEIVED FROM THESE IDI... "It looks like your micky-store account is associated with another account, stamps.gallery, which is currently restricted on eBay. Ebay doesn't have a good business model to meet the consumer's need. Here are the reasons: Ebay's customer service and resolution center employees are lack of competent, knowledge, analytical skills, professional care, due diligence, and have no clues how to handle/solve problems. Here is a scenario of an existing problem: when a buyer makes an accusation about a product; logically, that individual needs to have a proof or some types of evidence to support the accusation.
Based on the scenario above, Ebay's model of solving problems between buyers and sellers are as follows: By not requiring evidence from buyer, ignoring the facts, information, and other relevant details that relates to the accusation, Ebay creates unfair treatment and bias against the seller. Doing business with Ebay is unpleasant and costly for seller's business. Given Ebay employees lack of competence, professional care and due diligence, it's very difficult to communicate with and receive fair treatment. Conclusion: From the Consumers point of views, we always have better choices in life to choose from. Please seriously stay away from EBAY.

Don't sell on eBay. Here's why! I recently sold an item to a buyer whom won the auction, but later complained the item was not as described in the auction ad. Instead of dealing directly with the seller (me) and asking for a refund to return the item, immediately the buyer officially complained to eBay and gave me bad feedback.
Later in the week after the auction I noticed a complaint filed from the buyer to eBay, and eBay deciding on behalf of the buyer before I could respond. With this knowledge I decided to warrant the buyer a refund regardless of the negative feedback and false accusation of the purchased pills and return the items in question.
A month later there was still no returned product and after several filings on my own to eBay. Even to this day after three months of the event in question there is still no product returned even after I refunded the buyer. There was no response from eBay updating me on the subject. I was just flat out ignored. I decided to end my relationship with eBay (which by the way was spotless with zero prior complaints of service before this event). I have recently recommended to anyone that you should research eBay through these review portals. You will be surprised by the lack of customer service, and poor ratings by people just like me who were victimized by the countless spammers whom take advantage of eBay's poorly constructed policies.
For your information, to end your account you have to call a customer service number that is almost entirely impossible to find. When you do they will fight you to stay regardless if they're unwillingness to correct the potential countless dollars they negligently costed you. Yes, eBay is very convenient to sell your unwanted items but bear in mind the newer tech that is coming into market with much better policies that protect the seller and buyer from this situation. Thanks for reading.

I have been a seller on eBay for years. Recently I listed an item as Buy It Now. The item sold, and I received an email from eBay notifying me of the sale and asking me to print a shipping label. I did so and sent out the item. After 2 days passed, I received an email from eBay notifying me that the buyer had not paid for the item. I was confused as to how a buyer could "buy it now" without having paid for it. Turns out that buried deep within the app, when a seller is listing an item, one must click through 2 layers of options on the accepted payment methods and UNCHECKED the box which requires immediate payment.
This means that the default setting for sellers is to allow buyers to trick you into shipping them goods which are not paid for. The default setting should be exactly the opposite; in a Buy It Now format, immediate payment should be required unless the seller chooses otherwise. This format that eBay has set up specifically allows for sellers to be scammed out of their goods. One would think that eBay had an ethical obligation to protect its users, buyers and sellers alike. This practice shows flagrant disregard for protecting sellers.

I contacted the seller on May 27th to confirm the items were shipped. They told me "YES" but they lie. The wheel mall shipped my items on May 27th - right after I called them. The items were delivered on June 3rd - 3 weeks after I ordered them.
I personally think this was not a good customer experience. That is not the way to treat a customer. I paid $167.00 for 5 day shipping. And I didn't get the items until 3 weeks later. I am a good eBay buyer and a responsible customer. The communication from the seller was poor. The service was not up to the standard of eBay. I should at least be refunded shipping of the product. Then I submitted a review for the seller and eBay removed my review from the sellers page. I understand eBay is trying to protect the sellers, but who protects the buyers??? No thanks! That really would be throwing good money after bad. I complained to eBay and opened a case, showing them pics of stunted yellow barely alive plants.
When I called eBay, the young lady answering the phone assured me that I would get a refund under their buyer protection plan. Hahahaha! When I opened a case against the seller, eBay ultimately decided IN FAVOR OF THE SCAM ARTIST SELLER. They removed my negative feedback from his account so he can go and rip off another hapless eBayer. They would not even grant me an appeal. Buyer purchased a mobility scooter from me on 3/15/2016. On 3/28/2015 the buyer requested to return the item stating that the scooter was unsafe to use as it turned over when being driven up a ramp. We had a technician reach out to the buyer and it was confirmed that the scooter was being used by someone above the weight capacity and the ramp was steeper than was safety tested. The buyer still claimed that the item was damaged. We asked for photos, and all he showed was a photo of a knob that was slightly chipped, which looked like something he damaged on his own. We offered to replace the part that he was showing as damaged but he refused. He claimed that the scooter was unbalanced, but refused to show photo or video proof.
On 4/23/2016 eBay escalated the case and forced me to send a return shipping label at my expense, although it was clear that this was a case of buyer's remorse and misuse of an item. I sent the label on 4/26/2016. eBay policy clearly states that a buyer has 10 days to send back an item from whenever they get the return label. On 5/7/2016, I got an email from eBay letting me know that as the return period expired, this case was now closed and "NO FURTHER ACTION WAS REQUIRED" from me. The buyer went ahead and sent back the unit, on that same day 5/7/2016, after the case was closed, on the 11th day after he got the label.
On 5/28/2016 eBay stole $2049 out of my PayPal account and refunded it to the buyer, even though he returned the unit past the 10-day timeframe. The email they sent me stated that they were waiting for me to refund the buyer, and as I hadn't done it, they forced the refund. That was after I got an email from eBay on 5/7/2016 stating that no further action was required on my part! I called in to eBay and spoke to Holton from the leadership team who was most rude and disrespectful! He threatened to bang down on me a few times during the conversation, and refused to answer my questions. It is obvious that the 10-day timeframe was missed, as the automated system eBay has in place closed the case on 5/7/2016. The system does not allow cases to be closed until AFTER 10 full days, and closes cases that time out on the 11th day.
The eBay reps I spoke to regarding this case could not give me a proper explanation as to why the case would be closed if the timeframe was not up. That is because there is no such thing! The timeframe had expired and therefore the buyer was no longer eligible to send the item back for a refund. Taking money out of my account to refund the buyer is stealing, practicing double standards, and completely unethical!

First of all, I'm not an occasional seller on eBay. I've been selling on eBay since early 1998 and have sold more than 20,000 items for well over $1 Million. I have over 8,000 positive feedback comments - proving that most buyers won't bother with it. Admittedly, I don't get a lot of returns but recently the type of return has changed. I spoke to eBay about my feelings, telling them that the new, at the time, process encouraged buyers to file not-as-described complaints but they said, "Oh, no. You're going to find that this just isn't going to happen." So, then, I sell a nice guitar and amplifier set for a bargain price of $349. The guitar retailed for $720 and the amp retailed for $179. (Please let me point out that I've been shipping guitars all over the world for 27 years. I know how to package guitars and amps.)
About 3 weeks later, I'm surprised to receive a not-as-described return request. Buyer says there is a fret buzz, the neck is Maple, not Mahogany and there are not-mentioned finish blemishes on the side of the neck. So, knowing, I'm likely to lose if I contest the request anyway, I authorize the return. The guitar arrives. I pull it out of the outer carton and see that the guitar was properly repackaged, which is highly unusual. You wouldn't believe how some of these get returned.
I inspected and reviewed the guitar and reported the following to eBay: I found no fret buzz. I even lowered the string height on the guitar and it still didn't buzz. I noted that since the neck was a painted neck, the buyer was not likely to be able to tell whether the neck was Maple or Mahogany but attached the manufacturer's stat brochure in which they indicate that the neck is Mahogany. But, there was clear evidence that the guitar had been dropped. The impact created a flat dent in the top edge of the headstock and the stress of the impact created cracks along the side of the neck. I sent numerous photos of all of this to eBay. I spoke with the guy who does repair for me and he agreed that my photos were convincing. There was not doubt in his mind that this buyer dropped the guitar himself.
eBay denies my case and I phone them. There was a lot of the scripted reply at the beginning but as I continued to argue - and I made every effort to be polite - I was finally interrupted. The eBay customer service representative said, "Sir, you must understand, you haven't proven that these issues didn't exist before shipment was made." I said, "What?! There are photos of the headstock and the neck in my listing. In those photos, there is no headstock damage and there are no cracks. Do you realize that you are, basically, calling me a liar and perhaps a thief, too?"
She ignored my statement and question and just repeated that I had to provide proof, that I should take many more pictures including photos of the guitars just before and as they were being placed into the carton and pointed out that the buyer can claim not-as-described even though he may not know what he's talking about. She finalized with the comment that I still did have the right to add the buyer to my do not sell list. At that point I had about 450 items listed. I now have 254 and it falls every week. I can only think, and this echos what other sellers seem to be saying, that eBay is so focused on the bottom line that good sellers and good buyers simply must be sacrificed for whatever fraction of a percentage point they are gaining.
I notice that Wall Street, and the Wall Street journal, thinks eBay is doing a great job. Unless something appears to begin to turn eBay around, I expect to be "a former eBay seller" by the end of the year. It's bad enough that I have to put up with the constantly changing processes that make me have to spend huge amounts of time changing listings that were set up and complied with previous guidelines and to watch for the little glitches that pop up with every upgrade (The latest: the PayPal address at which a buyer is to submit payment has disappeared from every expired listing. Unless I remember to retype it into that box, my buyer will be unable to pay!) but to be insulted needlessly is the last straw. I'm outta here (eBay)! As I said, I've packaged a lot of guitars and unless UPS backs over one with its truck, it ain't gonna break!

Just an FYI you may as well accept returns. They will yank your money anyway without a recourse if you do not. And to think you... you pay for this privilege. EBay needs to remember who made them and who pays the bills. WE are their product! More about that later. Let me start by saying I have been selling on eBay for 13 years. Not my first rodeo folks.
My latest problem: I called eBay about a return I was accepting to make sure I was doing the right thing (They claimed the item was defective). I sold an antique brooch. Brooch mechanisms were different then than now. I tried to explain this to eBay and wanted to make sure this was not going to count as a defect in my Top Rated Seller performance. I have another brooch very similar from the same estate to prove my point. Apparently by calling them to check on the return process I yes I... escalated the return??? I already agreed to the return, why escalate it?
LIE #1: They assured me this return would not affect my defect rating. Lie, lie, lie. LIE #2: I should not have to pay for the return. LIE #3: I can appeal this decision AFTER it is closed. Lesson: You can not appeal a case YOU escalate. Come to find out I am paying $300-$1000 a month for the privilege of being treated like this. I have let a lot roll off my back through the years but this is too much. I have listened and watched friends and colleagues alike quit selling on eBay over the years. I stuck it out all the while watching eBay whittle away at sellers rights and recourse.
Last year: I sold a $4000 piece of high end jewelry. 3 months later, after the holidays, the buyer wanted to return the item. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Well guess what folks, you guessed it - PayPal without notification yanked money out of my account! The item was returned absolutely filthy from obvious use and they had the nerve to say the item was fake. After months of fighting this the police got involved and did what eBay and PayPal were unwilling to do. They agreed with me the lady was lying and found in my favor! Lesson to all, if you pay with a credit card you can claim anything is fake and reverse the charges. eBay and PayPal claim a return policy... but it is a MYTH. They just got tired of paying the credit card companies and are now making the sellers pay.

I have been a Ebay member for over 13 years now. I will have to say I have been very lucky with most of my dealings with their sellers. But now I have a issue and have found that Ebay is not a company I want to do business with any longer. On May 11 2016 my wife received some small succulents plants through the mail for her birthday. Our son who lives in China had sent them to her. After reading to learn about the care of these plants we went to the Ebay Website and ordered a planter from a seller. Like my others Ebay purchases everything went as promised. The next day May 12 2016 we went back to the Ebay Website looking for a certain kind of potting soil because it was not available locally. Having found the Gritty Mix Potting Soil on the Ebay Website it was being offered by a seller with 100% feedback record and over 2,000 sales so I felt good about ordering from them.
On May 12th we ordered and paid for the potting soil along with $18.90 for 3 day shipping. Per the seller's notes in the ad they normally ship within 2 business days. The product should have been delivered May 17 thru the 20th. On May 19th I received an email saying the product had shipped and gave us a tracking number. At this point they were still saying delivered May 17 thru the 20th but we knew that it would be later than that. We checked the tracking number and found the item had not yet been given to USPS but only a tracking number had been made by the seller. We checked the tracking number several times a day for a couple of days and found the exact same information that USPS had not yet received the product to ship. By this time my wife's plants were starting to need planted or they were going to die.
So we were forced to buy potting soil locally even though it was not the kind we were wanting. I then entered a poor rating for the seller. Then on May 23rd at 3:42 pm the seller gave the product to USPS for shipment but only after I had opened a case with Ebay (per Ebay process) asking for a refund as I no longer needed the product. The seller said he would refund only the product amount if I paid to return the product. To me this was unacceptable as the late delivery issue was his own doing.
The following is quotes are from the seller during my refund request. "Your box was picked up Saturday. I had a perfect storm of issues including supplies being delayed in delivery to me and a back injury that prevented me from completing my orders. I assure you that it has already been picked up and on its way to you. I apologize for the lengthy delay and my lack of communication." "I can understand your frustration. Truly I can. I am sorry that I did not follow through on a timely manner on my end. I honestly don't know what to offer you at this point. It is no longer in my possession. It was picked up Saturday. I'm sure it didn't get into the system until today. It is showing that it is moving and on the way. I can no longer get it back. It has been shipped. The only thing I can do is refund you the price of the mix once it is returned to me. That is all I can do."
Both of those quotes were made by the seller on Monday May 23rd right after my 12:57 pm refund inquiry for a refund. Funny a couple hours later USPS tracking numbers now shows they have the product to ship. By the seller's own confession they dropped the ball, not to mention lying about when they gave product to USPS for shipment. It was not on Saturday as they said but the on the following Monday the 23rd per the tracking number they provided. Then Thursday May 26th the package was delivered and the seller contacted Ebay with that information and Ebay closed my case without any questions being asked. Then they went 1 step further and removed the negative feedback I had left for them.
My feedback read as follows, "Very very poor service paid extra for fast shipping and still don't have product." This was entered on Monday May 23rd and Ebay has now removed it. I now see why they have a 100% positive feedback rating. What does Ebay mean when they tell me "the buyer" I qualify for an "Ebay money back guarantee"? Not only have they let me down they refused my right to freedom of speech by removing the feedback I had left. By them removing feedback makes them lying to everyone that deals with them.

A seller claimed to be located in the USA (IL) but the item shipped from China. I opened a case the moment I found out where they were shipping it from and eBay ruled against me just today...even though the seller violated the eBay policy of misrepresentation...and even went so far as to remove the feedback I left trying to warn others of this deceptive practice. I say a class action may be needed to litigate because clearly eBay is complicit. If there are any lawyers out there that would care to take on the case, on their dime, I'd be more than willing to be party to that case.
In the same vein of Chinese sellers misrepresenting as USA sellers, last night I asked about a half dozen US eBay sellers if the small engine carb they're selling can have the linkage re-clocked (re-positioned) so I could use it...and this morning I received several replies that made it clear to me that English wasn't their first language. eBay must stop condoning that deceptive practice but it seems the only way that's going to be possible would be to sue 'em and put a dent in their bottom line.

eBay has been in this trend for years. eBay does not have or sell a product. They make money on the products of others. As with any company that gets larger, they have forgotten who have made their growth possible. If you wanted to start a new e-commerce or auction site would you offer no seller protection and make it easier than easy for buyers to steal from sellers? No of course not. Your site would never get off the ground. But eBay has reverted to just that. They no longer care about, and actively abuse the ones who 100% make their business. Case in point: I sell computers and computer parts on eBay. 100% positive feedback and a top rated seller. Sold a motherboard a while ago to a man. The motherboard was listed as fitting 1 make and 1 model of computer only. I do that to limit people ordering the incorrect item due to a confusing listing.
If you don't own the exact make and model computer I say in my listing then don't order the item. It won't fit. LOL. After the item shipped the guy messaged me saying he had ordered the wrong part and wanted the order canceled. OK. Unlikely but possible. I informed him the item had already shipped and it could not be canceled. I inform him that he can ship the item back and receive a full refund. I usually charge a %20 restock fee for returns but I can lower it to 10% for him if he does not open the box and ships it right back. This was to limit the chance of damage to the item or other complications with the return. Man indicated after going back and forth a few time if we could get the price of the item down a bit more, he would keep it. I asked "I thought it was the wrong item." He said it was but "he could probably make it fit." LOL. Anyone who knows computers knows that is ridiculous. If it's the wrong motherboard then it's the wrong motherboard.
This guy found a better price elsewhere or something and was trying to con me into lowering the price of mine. Anyway...he finally got the item in the mail. A few days later I messaged him to see where the return was. He opened a case in eBay requesting a full refund and paid return shipping due to the item being damaged. He gave a long list of broken and missing components on the motherboard that simply were lies. As of September eBay has removed all seller protections. eBay closed the case half in my favor due to his initial comments of wanting the sale canceled. He had to ship the item back at his own expense. When I received the item it had been destroyed. Multiple components had been removed and broken. The item was unusable. I called eBay and after several transfers I was informed there was simply no seller protection.
Just to make perfectly sure I asked the eBay supervisor "So you're telling me that if I as a top rated and power seller, sell a laptop to a customer and they say it's broken and refuse to send pictures of the damage, a return will be approved. Then if I get the package in the mail and it's got a bunch of horseshoes inside I'm just screwed?!" Supervisor: "Yes unfortunately at this time there is no seller protection. You have to just factor that into your business model." LOL. Factor in eBay ripping me off into my business model!? Unreal. Well eBay has a great business model. They tell us to factor in losses they generate into our business model and they factor into their business model profits that our losses generate! Well, if that's part of the eBay business model then it must not be unethical right!?
I mean, a business built on the backs of certain people simply cannot treat those same people in an unfair, unjust, and unethical way right? I'm sure eBay would agree that it treats its sellers very well and values them highly if asked. In that case I must be in the wrong. I must have my view of right and wrong, ethical and unethical all mixed up! In that case I guess I have to try to recoup these losses. It's just business after all. No right or wrong. Ya know... I've been shipping around for a nice new cell phone, or maybe a sound bar for my TV. I really don't want to pay much. Actually I'd like to pay nothing at all for it. And I do have a bunch of horseshoes lying around collecting dust. Think I'll hit up horseshoeseBay and see how cheap I can get a phone. Pretty sure I can get one for right around $0.00.
