Worst company for buyer or seller I've dealt with. Avoid. They asked for bunch of documents and after I send them they restricted my account without any reason. Never explained! Even when I contact them, they cannot explain and contradict themselves in the actions. Looks like a big spam to fish and suck your information. Instead of resolving it they offered to upload my personal data through another source. Not even to mention they don't stand by their word. One rep says one thing, few minutes later totally different. Be careful.

It happened to me over and over and this is will be my last time use ebay! I have buy jewelry and doesn't look like seller describe so I return but have not get money back because international shipping and item has lost. But it like a $70-100 so I do not think much of it. I was mad at the time but I let it go. Until recently last month, I bought rolex watch from seller at $2500 because ebay promote their buyer protection guarantee and with their reputation I expected them to protect me. But ebay just like other company who only tried to protect seller. Why?? Cuz ebay get pay by the seller. Aren't they?

So I received a broken diamond rolex watch. I open case. Put the pictures down. THEN ebay told me to return item to the seller. So I did and provided ebay a tracking number on september 9. Then yesterday September 21 ebay closed my case which the reason I return item without ebay or seller authorize OR did not provided tracking number which I done both. So I called ebay. After wait on the phone for over 45 mins. They transferred me to 3 different people. BUT NO HELP! The last representative I talked to said "well, tracking does not show moving after you shipped so we can't help you. You need to go talk to post office."

So basically no protection or anything on buyer side. WATCH OUT GUY!!! This is the trick ebay do it to you. They not really protect you for anything. I asked you basically you closed my case and no protection on buyer side. I paid $2500 for it and ebay said "well you gonna have to talk to post office. We can't help you." So why have a case? Ridiculous? Why have buyer protection? Doesn't help! Mislead. If every buyer know that ebay not really protect them, buyer will never want to buy from ebay!!!

Now I remember my case a few year ago. I bought diamond from ebay. I brought it to a few jewelry stores to get it appraisal. All jewelers look at it and said it worth half of the price seller on ebay sold it to me. Diamond are broke in the middle and been put it together poorly or something. That item cost me $1500 I believe. So I contact ebay. I expected ebay to protect me but no. eBay did not. eBay said to get ebay appraisal. So I ask, the appraisal will cost me $75. So I wanted to return but seller denial for return, and ebay said if I need a return I will need to pay for those fee myself. RIDICULOUS! NOPE no protection. I was so pissed.

Yep I have not learn my lesson. Now this is the last time I will be using ebay. No more ebay!

Both myself and my wife have been selling on eBay for over 10 years, and both accounts have been in good standing, with feedback scores that have always been well above 99% positive. However, eBay's new seller standards have resulting in both accounts being rated as 'below standard'. This will result in eBay still taking their outrageously high fees, but payments we receive would be HELD by Paypal for up to 30 days. As another 'punishment', all of our listings have now been pushed nearly out of sight of potential buyers, as listing that would be on pages 1-4 are now to be found on pages 40+. It is yet another example of eBay's incredible lack of respect and total contempt towards sellers. I would be grateful if there's any legal Eagles out there who know whether it is legal that they are holding payments, and also still charging full fees although the service they are providing means that sales will be very hard as listings are near invisible to potential buyers; therefore, they are not providing the service we are paying for.

I read about some unfair business practices and I agree 100% they are unfair. eBay has the site rigged so that a buyer opens a case going to the resolution center instead of contacting the seller directly to resolve the issue. This has resulted in several thousands of dollars of debt that's now in collections which I received a letter 2 days ago about making it $16,780 all from unrefunded eBay and PayPal fees from those rescinded sales which eBay and PayPal refuses to refund. The buyers would not cooperate with me when I'd give them instructions on how to use the items I sell them, nor would they cooperate with getting insurance claims going for items that didn't arrive or items that arrived damaged.

For example, I had a $1900 package that was apparently pilfered in shipment and the contents were lifted and the buyer made claims I sent an empty package which I obviously did not because the weight even showed it wasn't empty. He proceeded to call me names like Fraud and scammer and even left a slanderous feedback comment calling me a Fraud which eBay has refused to remove and when he was asked questions about what color iPhones I sent were and he did not answer. The package was also insured and he refused to cooperate in getting the insurance claim so we'd not lose any money so that was obviously a sign something wasn't right. So they found it in the buyer's favor and I was out not only $1900 in the sale but eBay and PayPal fees which eBay refused to credit. So this, several other uncredited fees and lost packages which the buyers did not cooperate with me on in insurance claims as well putting me in a bigger loss which eBay refused to help fix.

I also had a buyer who made a purchase off me for $200 plus $30 shipping and when he got the item, he opened a case decided to even open the package to check the item out to make sure it was good. eBay found it in his favor, more lost fees and money there. As a result of all this, my business has been destroyed. I'm $16000 in debt which I don't know I'm ever going to get paid off and on top of that, when eBay closed those disputes, they still seek reimbursement for those payments despite putting my PayPal account in the negative which is around $17000 as well so I believe there's some kind of double refund or reimbursement scheme going on and I do not like it one bit.

My hope is eBay finally gets what's coming to them for the way they treat us without always siding with the buyer and letting them win those frivolous cases despite evidence proving the seller is right and the buyer is wrong. There is absolutely no excuse for this and the way I see it, they're just committing wire fraud by making us pay like that. Back then when I first started selling on eBay the first few years, I had protection. I had coverage but now all of that has changed. It used to be I'd just get a police incident report on an item that arrived not in the same shape it originally left in and I'd be covered but now eBay doesn't do that anymore and I've had several items arrive not in the same shape they were in and the person who filed that $1900 dispute is having his cake and eating it too and eBay doesn't even care.

Thanks to abusive buyers, eBay's rigged buyer protection program, their refusal to help even when I'm able to prove the postal service is at fault for a package not arriving and even when I can prove the item was as described all along and the buyer is just trying to pull one over on me like this one did, my business is now shut down and I have no idea how I'll ever get it going like I did before. Much less pay off such a big debt which I have disputed as of today. I've been running around in circles in my mind trying to wrap my mind around how all of this will be settled because now I have a double debt totaling $33,000 due to eBay's dishonest practices. I also now find out that PayPal extended their dispute times from 45 days to 180 days as of yesterday which means a buyer can buy an item from a seller, wear it out, tear it up in 4-5 months then open a dispute, win it and return the item messed up, further defrauding honest sellers like myself.

It REALLY upsets and sickens me how they could do this to us. Always makes me wonder how they even sleep at night doing what they do. There's a class action lawsuit going on against eBay from what I've been reading. However I'm not holding my breath on it because there is just no justice anymore for honest sellers like myself who are victims of this fraudulent deal! If nothing else, eBay should be shut down, their assets and bank accounts should be frozen and they be on the hook for loads of damages that have been inflicted on myself and other honest hardworking sellers!

It sickens me how they're allowed to do this to us and get away with it!! There is no such thing as karma and this is never going to end! There will not be a day that goes by to where I don't wish that eBay gets what's coming to them for defrauding us like this! The whole website is nothing but a cesspool! I really hope we can all begin spreading the word like wildfire of eBay's fraudulent and deceptive practices against us and the right person can start listening and taking action against the site, the CEO of the site and the people behind it!

I keep speaking to them concerning this issue but no one will tell me why I have restrictions and why I got no email concerning this. Do not sell on eBay. They rip their sellers off.

I bought a ride-on mower from a registered business seller, Ryehill Retail which had clearly been cannibalized for parts when it arrived and was only fit for scrap. I have an independent report which confirms that the mower is beyond repair and has been missold. I opened a case in the 22nd of August and Customer Service have found in the seller's favor! The seller has a legal obligation to refund both the original cost and postage and also the return postage because he is a business seller but has refused. He has also committed a criminal offense under the Sale of Goods Act by selling goods which are not fit for purpose. EBay have not allowed me to post (accurate) negative feedback and are refusing to refund my money because the item is 'driven by a petrol'. I have had a string of contradictory and patronizing responses to my emails from Customer Support and am now reporting both eBay and Ryehill Retail to Trading Standards. I'm nearly £600 out of pocket.

It started 1 years ago. I sent over 40 items out in one week. 3 of those 40 got delayed. They arrived 12-14 days after being sent. Due to the buyers not understanding a 1-5 rating on shipping, instead of being reasonable and say giving a 3 or 4 as you have 10 days to get an item to someone I figure 12-14 should be a 3-4 right? Well they all picked 1's. Fine I get it, but eBay in turn restricted my account to 8 items a month max $250. Which is absurd - 790 100% feedbacks (they have 100% feedback just have me 1 star on shipping time). But 790 100% feedback and I get that restriction! So for the next year I list as much as I can until I get that resolved. I also in that time opened up a 2nd acct (in my name) but to teach my kid how eBay works. What does eBay do after 20 100% listings on that acct, restrict it for no reason?

So now after a year, I can't even use that acct, and the most eBay will give me is 30 items for max 1500, and I'm at 100% positive on all feedback and since last year, nothing less than 5/5 on shipping. I'm feeling just because I don't own an eBay store and make them tons of money, they don't really care - they don't care about the little guy. Yet I bet we make up a bulk of their billion dollar business. So here's where it gets better. I tried to close the 2nd account, and they will not let me online or via chat. I call in and it's in excess of 1 hr in wait time - for a multi billion dollar business that’s not acceptable. So after hours of waiting, 10 different departments, I still cannot get that acct close and they will not give me an answer on if my limits can be raised due to the restriction added for having 2 accounts. They need to get their stuff together. My requests should not be this difficult to take care of.

This has been the most frustrating experience ever. They have showed me they do not care about the small consumer. They could care less about us. They only care about the larger sellers and the $$ they make them. They were founded from small people like me. They will not continue to succeed if they forget about us. So I write this in distaste for eBay, as a company, neither for their consumers, buyers, etc., they are a joke and I wish a competitor could come in and just take them out. They should no longer deserve the business of us small consumers - they have not earned it.

They are a horrible company, poorly run, and they hid all these little restrictions that benefit only them. Stay away if you are a buyer, and if you are a small seller, good luck because if anything goes wrong, they will not lift a pinky to help you. (It should be illegal to force me to keep an account open, and force me to stay on hold for hours at a time to close it. I should be able to submit the request and have it completed. They are forcing me to keep an account active at the risk of fraud and refuse to let me shut it down.) How is this OK?

So I purchased a small fan controller from a seller on eBay about $19.00. No biggie. As soon as I made the PayPal transaction I got a message from the seller that said they were sending me a special gift and it might arrive before the actual item. Well, I thought kinda strange but whatever. I got a tracking number soon after and all seemed well. I am watching the tracking number and am waiting for the item. Well, I got the gift! A stupid earring set that was literally not worth a nickle, really pure crap. Oh well no big loss I was not expecting much anyway. Well I went to track my item and it said it had arrived. "BAM!" I understood what was going on.

The seller sent the gift with the tracking number so it looks like to eBay that I received the item, they get paid and are off the hook. Grrrrrr I was immediately livid. The Chinese sellers do little crap like this all the time!!!! Well I opened a case with eBay and it is still being investigated. Investigated? It is obvious what is happening. eBay needs to have a ZERO tolerance policy with this kind of thing. I have no confidence in the Chinese sellers. I have had a couple of other problems with Chinese Sellers. Like for example I bought a CNC machine that clearly stated that Mach 3 software was included. Mach 3 costs $175.00 so I took that into consideration and picked that particular one for my purchase.

There are literally hundreds of practically the same item so I could have easily picked another seller. Well, the Mach 3 software was pirated. No question about it. When I installed the software it said it was registered to some person in China, I know because I did not even have the characters on my keyboard to enter it. Absolute pirating of software, no questions asked. I spent hours on the phone with eBay support and I could not even get them to recognize the problem. I mean they have to be intentionally daft. A couple of other things too. The bottom line is that eBay does know what is going on with the Chinese sellers but they are making so much money off them they look the other way.

EBay still allows a dishonest buyer to post negative feedback on a sellers account even when EBAY themselves has ruled in favor of the seller on a dispute. No one cares to know that I have been a trusted seller for over 10 years and recently, due to a minor error, I am indefinitely suspended. No one cares to view the situation from a non-mathematical common sense approach. Everyone I have spoken to on this is just wanting to take the path of least resistance and unfortunately for me this means to transfer me to someone else, until I get tired of repeating myself and give up. This seems to be an ongoing problem with eBay lately. Buyers are becoming aware of the fact that eBay has a reputation of siding with buyers and giving them their money back, no questions asked. I recently sold a power supply board for a TV to a guy who, by his own admission and photos submitted to eBay, purchased "the wrong" board. I clearly stated on my listing that there would not be any returns accepted at all and to please make sure that this was the correct board needed. Well, the buyer decides to file a claim stating that the item was "not as described." His own photos uploaded to eBay supported my claim that the item was indeed as described and he had purchased the wrong board - he was off on the last letter of the model number. Needless to say, eBay sided with him and he received a full refund, but only after sending the board back. Now, this became a whole other issue because the guy sends it back in a brown paper bag without any padding or support.

Being that this is a power supply board with rough edges, the paper bag arrived completely ripped open and the supply board was damaged (pieces broken off, scratched...a mess). I called eBay and filed an appeal. Get this - they grant the appeal but only for shipping charges. According to eBay, they find it a high liability to protect sellers against stolen, swapped, or damaged returned items. Translation: Buyers can "claim" they mailed back an item. If it never arrives...oh well. Too bad, so sad for the seller. You eat the cost. Buyers can return a completely different item to you (swap) the item. So, you sell them a perfectly functioning item. They can say it doesn't work, they swap with their faulty one, send that one back to you, and WIN for them. So, for those that mark their items to protect themselves from this - you're wasting your time. eBay doesn't care.

Buyers can ship the item back to you in a brown paper bag with no cushioning, bubble wrap, ZERO protection, and improperly packaged. If the item becomes damaged due to their negligence in packaging.....YOU LOSE! eBay doesn't care about that either. It's not their problem. As I was told today, as a seller you need to protect yourself against scum bag buyers and "factor that in as the cost of doing business". eBay cannot take on that liability. However, they will protect the buyer 100% despite how wrong they are. So, as sellers who PAY FEES to eBay, we do not have any protection whatsoever from eBay. SELLERS......BEWARE!!

The seller had over 195 positive feedback and the last item they sold was an expensive item over £1000 so I assumed it was ok to go ahead with the purchase. Once I received the item I realized it was not an original via different methods of which one was to register the item with the manufacturers as I do with most of the items I have. It came up as not being a valid serial number. I contacted the seller to tell them I wanted to send back the item and wanted a full refund. They told me they sent what they had listed as the item.

After a few correspondence I decided to open a case with eBay and after 8 days escalated it so eBay could make a decision. Basically as soon as I pressed the enter button the case was returned closed because it was not protected under their guarantee. That was never my point of opening the case. My point was for them to investigate the item and see that the seller had sold a fake item. Maybe put a hold on their account until it was resolved. At this point in time I have a fake item in my possession that doesn't even work down over £250. The seller is laughing as they've made money on a piece of rubbish that they've sold and eBay have washed their hands of the whole situation. Is this really how they do business? I'm so dumbfounded on how they handle things as it's always impossible to contact them as any chats surprisingly close. There is no email to contact them on the whole of the website. Not valid since there were no business names of either seller, eBay or eBay's shipping agent Pitney Bowes US. As professional musician I have a VAT registration and since invoicing was only done on a non-legit PDF without business headings, and (maybe?) paid in the UK, I cannot reclaim the paid around 240 US dollars as was promised by the seller before I made the deal.

My total sales showing on my "dashboard" is $190,816.00. In the 14 years I have been with eBay, I HAVE NEVER HAD ONE SINGLE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK. I have always going out of my way to be a good buyer and a good seller. I have always let the Golden Rule be my guide.

During the month of June, we shipped 2 packages with UPS after printing our shipping labels on eBay and paying for the shipping through PayPal. Something went wrong at UPS. Their tracking system showed both shipments in transit and then for some reason they stopped moving. One was in Texas and the other was in Georgia. UPS undertook a search for the lost shipments and I stayed in constant contact with the buyers. Finally, one of the packages was located and delivered. To this day, the other package has not surfaced. Without being requested to do so, I made a full refund to the buyer. He left feedback for me stating "Buy from this man and make the world a better place". It did not matter to eBay that the mistake was made by UPS AND I DID NOTHING AT ALL WRONG. Because cases were opened, I was given 2 strikes.

There was third problem that same month that I take full responsibility for a package shipped in a thin envelope slipped behind the seat of the delivery person's car. When a case was opened, I offered a full refund and undertook a search for the missing package and found it. I expedited the shipping and a day later I had another happy buyer and my 3rd strike. Unlike strikes 1 & 2 that are UPS's responsibility, I take full responsibility for strike number 3. We made a mistake.

As a result of these three strikes, I am now considered a "substandard seller" by eBay and somehow they have caused all of my selling to stop. After 14 years with 100% feed back rating and $190,816.00 in sales I'm ruined as a seller on eBay. Even though I used UPS and printed my selling labels an eBay and UPS lost the packages, I'm blamed and punished. When I complained to eBay that UPS was one of their shippers and the shipping labels were printed on their site and paid for through eBay, it's still my fault. I was told that eBay provided three options. Fed-Ex, UPS & USPS. They went on to explain that I should have used Fed-Ex or USPS so it's my fault.

I haven't mentioned that I have been a major buyer on eBay for the entire 14 years spending well over a quarter of a million dollars. Why does eBay not value me as a customer? Why are they treating me unfairly after I have been loyal to them. $190,816.00 in sales with a 100% feedback rating on 1,068 transaction and now I'm a substandard seller?? They told me they are simply protecting their buyers and making sure they have s good experience shopping on eBay. What about me? What about my experience as both seller and a shopper on eBay? Take a look at my feedback and what everyone has said about me and my dealings with them. EBay is destroying my business because UPS made a mistake. EBAY IS CHEATING ME OUT OF SOMETHING I WORKED HARD FOR AND EARNED - A GOOD REPUTATION AS A EBAY USER. I FEEL SO CHEATED AND VIOLATED. WHAT CAN I DO? EBAY IS A GIANT AND I'M JUST A CUSTOMER THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT.

I have emails of the months of their failure to protect my account or answer my questions, multiple times security keys and credit cards were attached to my account, they refused to remove them, refused to explain their appearance or who the accounts belonged to, they didn't cancel a card after I reported it stolen, the list goes on. I have emails and copies of documents to support my interactions as well. They devastated me also with unfair refunds and fees for canceled transactions, charged me for postage for UPS that UPS has written me was not charged... it goes on and on...

I sold a touch screen universal remote control. I sold it as a used item that had only been used 5-6 times, which was true. Other than some dust, it looked and worked like new. Of course I could not use those words according to ebay. I got the point across, nonetheless. The buyer got it & said it was "unusable". What? It was a obvious case of buyer's remorse. I refused to budge on a refund & after several letters back and forth in the resolution center, ebay made a decision in 4 minutes. 4 minutes? Really? It was obvious this was some automated decision from a computer. I was forced to refund the money on receipt of the item by ebay.

When I got it back - it was as new as I described. I made a video of it this time & immediately put it back on ebay for sale. The next buyer loved the item. Now, not only did ebay do me wrong with some sort of automated 4-minute decision, but I was left negative feedback, got dinged on my seller rating, and sold it for about $30 less than I did to the first buyer. I might sell 1 item every couple of weeks now when I used to sell about 15. I hope ebay goes belly up & some other company takes its place.

I contacted the extremely RUDE seller to inform him that I would be returning the part (unopened and unaltered). I returned the part the same day. The seller refused the return product and I left buyer feedback that the seller wrote me VERY RUDE emails and had poor communication. EBay deleted my feedback and sent me a series of emails stating that they would not honor their Buyer Protection Program. Yet, I do not have the product or a refund. I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the State of California Attorney General's Office. I also closed my EBay account. I would never do business with them again.

I sell on eBay and violated for a category that I was instructed to use by them and figured it was correct since that's what the other sellers use. Now my 100% positive feedback of over 2,000 makes no difference. Explained I could lose my home and not well, but NO it's on! Suspended, and now able to sell, but the punishment doesn't end here! I have three months of NO best match, bottom of every page. I have spent 2 weeks trying to get these dummies to understand it's not or what about all the rest? I said I would rather be dead than lose my home, perfect credit, so... They send the police!!!! Stating I may kill myself.

What the heck? I have pointed out copyright infringements, nothing, reported exhaustively "some" of the other violators, including copyright infringements and they have not done anything about them. I have every reason to believe that some competitor has caused me all of this grief. I'm a little guy, but since I will not be busy selling my items, I will be spending my time trying to take them down and if anyone has anything that they could provide to me I will welcome it. I used to be a manager for a very large company, so I'm not stupid except to trust eBay.

I will spend every day getting screen shots, violations on them, the harassment they have given to me, the anxiety I am experiencing and even more aggravated my situation by sending the police, but the joke is on them. They could tell I was fine, except upset and they spent quite a while with me taking notes. They had me print out all sorts of information I already have in my possession. The anguish has been so intensified with every time of trying to clear this matter up with them. Unfortunately I have a lot of items that sell best on eBay than other sites, so I feel stuck for a short time. I do want to VIOLATE them. I recently spoke with four eBay Customer Service/Dept POCs after being cut off twice by their electronic system on 18 Aug 14. I tried to determine why certain performance standards were affecting my rating when in fact all had been amicably resolved with the buyers! I will go into more detail. First, the entire time speaking with eBay representatives was over two hours and they asked as usual to record the conversation for training. I had no problem with this but the only time I heard the beeping indication was when I was placed on the phone with the last Manager.

Also to qualify that this is not a disgruntled short time user of eBay Services, I have been a member since 1998 and Selling since or before 2006. Although, I am not one of their high volume sellers I've had over 7500 transactions totaling nearly $300K sold on eBay and since 2006 been a top rated power seller and currently hold a 100% satisfaction with no markdowns in the past six months! And keep in mind that there are 1000s of buyers that didn't rate or provide comment and since most consumers only complain when there is a problem, we can presume no rating or comment is probably a satisfied customer but these are not used in the metric. A neutral is a defect but no comment/rating doesn't factor in!

Their new system looks at defect rate and over the year since I've had low volume of sales over the last 3 months. I have 2 Opened Cases Items not Received, 3 Opened Cases Item Not as Described, and 2 Neutral Ratings Feedbacks. Not bad considering the volume of sales and less than 2 percent of my volume. Sure I can always strive to be 100% and we do but the criteria doesn't factor in positive resolution with the buyer. All the 5 opened cases the resolution was positive and closed by the buyer (I will go into more detail). I presumed and yes bad on me, that this great customer service would count favorably and not negatively on my performance standard. Now the details:

.Item Id ** - Customer opened an Item not received case even though tracking (shipped day after order) showed the item still in route! The one aspect of customer service we have no control over is USPS or the other mail carrying services. The item arrived 4 days after the case was opened and the customer closed the case and was happy with item and service. In this case the customer took the easy option and opened a case rather than contacting me first. This would have had the same resolution if the contact was made through the customer.

Item Id ** - Customer opened an Item not received case because he saw the item sitting in NJ instead of contacting me directly. Once again this item was shipped on the day after it was ordered and being held or misplaced by USPS during the holiday season. It arrived the day after the case was opened and another successful resolution.

Note: Both of these items were delayed by USPS, both of the buyer opened a case before contacting us and both customers were satisfied with our customer service and item! Both were shipped within the required 1 day handling time and both cases were closed without having to engage eBay! So why the punitive ding against the performance standard?

Item Id ** - Customer opened a case for item not as described before contacting me. He used the open case as a means of communicating his concern. This one is my bad but had he contacted us through contact seller it would have had the same resolution. We sent the wrong Star Trek ornament but the mistake was immediately resolved with the buyer to include discount, free item and he was very pleased with the resolution closing the case the same day. Once again our bad but the customer was rewarded with great customer service...

Item Id ** - This one gets interesting - The customer opened a case because the HD DVD he ordered did not work in his machine even though we e-mailed him highlighting the dynamics of a HD DVD. It is listed in the description and title and he eventually conceded that it was his mistake. Initially he was somewhat abusive in the dialogue but conceded he was wrong several e-mails later! We allowed him to return the item for refund (although not required, it is good CS) and he closed the case. Item was exactly as described, customer initially abusive, we offered return but he never returned the item!

Item Id ** - This is another interesting one - The customer (an elderly gentleman) opened the case to communicate with us rather than contacting us direct. We called the buyer who couldn't find the mounting holes for the plume on a Roman Centurion Helmet. Because of poor eyesight the small holes were not evident to him but as we walked him through it he found the mounting holes, thanked us and closed the case! Another satisfied customer!

Additionally, not as important as everyone is entitled to an opinion, but the two Neutral ratings were somewhat benign and not due to service, speed of shipping but due to minor disagreements in description. One was a box of packs that was a store display that was listed as used but had all the packs. The customer dinged us because we did not describe blemishes to the box although we listed it as an open store display. The second rating I believe was from a child because he purchased a Remembrall Harry Potter Promo Card. He dinged us with a Neutral stating that he thought he was receiving the actual Remembrall and not the Promo as pictured and listed as a Promo...

So I thought at least I had some rational arguments regarding the defects that were assessed against the open cases. After getting cut off twice through the electronic system I reached Niki on the third call. Based on the facts I gave her she connected me with Justin who allegedly had more power to resolve issues in this area. After 20 minutes of discussion with Justin he stated that he didn't have the power to make changes to the performance standard and that it was another department. I was connected with Arlene! I was on the phone with Arlene for nearly one and a half hours (90 minutes) appealing that the performance standard criteria had some faults penalizing sellers for opened cases out of their control; specifically USPS delays and two buyers who conceded the item was exactly as described but opened the case as a mechanism of communication. Sounds rational and I believe that Arlene was starting to concede and asked several times to review this and talk to a supervisor. Three times she came back from these pauses with canned comments regarding:

    1. It's a new system with bugs still having to be worked out.
    2. That the buyers have a right regardless to open cases and if the cases are closed by the buyer instead of eBay that the defect is counted against the seller.
    3. That it is a system to allow sellers to track standards and improve on service.

    4. That this may only affect my standing for a short period and although dropping from top rated to above standard would be corrected in the second evaluation cycle if no further complaints were lodged.

Finally I was put on the phone with the Supervisor (Roanna) who apparently was reading from the same script because she reiterated almost verbatim what Arlene was instructed to say. And I asked her if my arguments sounded rational on the appeal of the opened cases and my limited control of USPS actions and the fact the buyers opened cases even though they conceded they were wrong. She stated it didn't matter as they had a right to open a case and this is the criteria they had to go by.

Not the resolution I sought nor the customer service to accommodate a long standing relationship with one of their small but top sellers. I later learned through research that this is not isolated and that surveys and blogs recount similar responses and frustrations. On one site they go as far as to rate percentages of dissatisfaction. On Wikinvest the following ratings exist: 79% agree eBay's sellers are unhappy, and some are starting to defect to other platforms. 93% agree eBay Destroying It's Brand From Within. 94% agree eBay is forgetting who made them a successful company... the little guy.

Another site Ecommerce Bytes goes on discussing the inherent injustice in the seller performance venue and the apparent favoritism toward high volume sellers. They recount alleged dropping of bad ratings for these high volume sellers when small sellers are mistreated and deterred from selling on eBay. Once again, I reiterate alleged but there is an apparent leaked memo that suggests this policy is or was occurring...

So between the 2 plus hours with CS and the authoring of this e-mail I have spent 5 hours illustrating defects against the small seller inherent in the new performance standard. I believe buyers should be protected and have endeavored over the years to be eBay's Marquee Seller and based on e-mails, awards and certificates meet or exceed their standard. Sellers like me are what makes people return to eBay! If I were to leave eBay that long positive relationship with eBay and those customers would be compromised and I am sure a portion of my return customer would come with me and all because of impersonal Customer Service and a broken evaluation system!

On 20 August after being on hold and waiting 10 minutes, I spoke with Miranda (for about 30 minutes) who was the most knowledgeable and sympathetic to my concerns. She went into great detail and explained the process and asked that I wait to see how the review hashes out. She was so informative and obliging that I conceded to waiting to see how the process hashed out. She is the type of CS you want as a Supervisor or Management!

The evaluation came and I dropped to Above Standard based on the 2.07% defect rate (They allow 2% for Top Rated Classification). Since virtually none of the open cases were legitimate problems my standard dropped based on a broken metric system. Sure, I'm whining, but when the kettle is black... it's black! A follow-up attempt was attempted on 22 August with a long wait time (40 plus minutes). That wait time is not great CS. There use to be a feature that would instruct eBay to call me or even an e-mail option. It appears these no longer exist.

A second follow-up was attempted on 26 August hoping the fervor over the new rating system would die down. It didn't pan out as my wait by automated confirmation was 39 minutes! After 50 minutes wait, I was connected with Caden who further understood that there was some legitimacy in some of my issue, in fact removing a neutral that fit into the criteria for removal that was not even the major part of my contention! After 33 minutes of dialogue he transferred me to member to member to see if we could get other items removed that he did not have the power to remove although he agreed with me. Caden by far most facilitating, professional and knowledgeable CS representative I interacted with in the last 8 days!

After waiting another 25 minutes on hold I was connected with Chris and after a pleasant period of dialogue about our selling similarities he conceded that one of the items not as described applied to his parameters for correcting but 2 others did not apply! Through another 70 minutes of discussion we discussed the backlashes and issues that evolved based on the new system. I reiterated that, eBay should realize that I, a top rated, 5.0 rated 100% seller before the reporting period and I have endeavored to be the very best seller and that through my actions have return customers and sellers. I am not part of the demographic that eBay should be trying to weed out! I am passionate that this is a performance evaluation system that has inherent metric issues and some were resolved by their CS and member to member contacts. However there are still metrics assessed against me and other sellers that are beyond and top rated sellers control and those metric should not be used as a mechanism to down grade sellers!

Based on discussion with Caden and Chris I expected changes to two performance defects: Caden to correct neutral rating and Chris to correct one Item not as described. As of 1425 on 27 August there have been no updates. Chris did mention it might take 24-48 hours to reflect changes! On 28 Aug 2014, I called to inquire why my 20 August 2014 rating was not changed retroactively. Adam answered after a 10 minute wait and requested a few minutes to review the previous dialogue. When opening the transaction defect report for 28 Aug 2014 I noticed that the Neutral and Opened Case for Item not as described had not been removed.

The new assessment period has me at 1.83 defect rate! He recommended I talk to a specialist/management staff! Forwarded me to a specialist to see if the defects have been removed. Serena answered in Escalations. She was able to acknowledge that 2 items the Neutral was removed but not from the defect rate and that an item not delivered was removed. She did acknowledge that Chris agreed to remove the item not as described regarding the HD DVD but at that time it had not been removed. She stated that she needed more time to resolve issue but then I brought up my second concern that these changes were within/affected the Aug 20 rating window and that the Aug 20 Above Standard rating should be retroactively changed to Top Rated Seller. Total time waiting for connection with CS (10 mins), time with Adam CS and Serena Escalations was 45 minutes! She stated that the changes would take effect by next reporting period within 7 days and that an e-mail will be sent to me confirming this! She stated that the Aug 20 performance standard should retroactively change on that reporting period to Top Rated Seller...

On 2 Sept 2014, I called to follow-up on conversation of Aug 28 with Serena. Wait time was 13 minutes! First CS contact was with Joanne at 13 minutes and 19 minutes it was cut off. She called back immediately! The appeal for item not received was denied on Aug. 29. Joanne stated that she is infuriated that personnel made claims that they agreed with me and she read this dialogue in the complaint history! She apologized that these representatives would make these claims because she claimed that they did not have the power. In fact she claimed that all three issues seemed to be denied in the appeal. She put me on hold to discuss with a supervisor regarding the retroactive impact to the Aug 20 Eval if any change could have been instituted to my performance standard!

Based on what she had been instructed, no retroactive impacts to the 20 Aug Eval could be enacted. I was on hold approximately 2 minutes and then another 4 minutes as she discussed this with another supervisor! After 31 additional minutes Joanne confirmed through discussion with 2 managers in different departments that even if the appeal on the removal on the two defects promised me, that they would not have affected the Aug 20 rating contrary to what I was told by other CS/Member to Member and Escalations representatives! Total time of wait, discussion to no resolution 50 minutes.

Now having been promised several things over the course of two weeks (initially started months prior with voicing of concerns with the problems with defects that were used to determine Performance Standard) and then finding out that two of the defects promised to me that were going to be removed and then not, followed by a promise of a review by escalations with promised e-mail that never materialized I am totally disappointed in the impotence of the CS and Escalations Reps to do anything, especially as promised! My Points:

    1. Performance Standard metrics are punitive to small scale sellers as the cases opened for Items not Received and Items not as Described can be resolved equitably, be unrelated to the items description and delays caused by delivery services but still counted against the seller. For example: Two cases items not received were shipped within 24 hours but delays due to USPS cost me two opened case. A case for an item not as described was opened by an abusive buyer who conceded item was as described but used the case process as a process to communicate and pressure me into making a decision in his favor!

    2. Neutral ratings are counted against the seller even if not justified, it is a middle of the road rating and the 1000s of satisfied customers that don't provide feedback are not used in the metric. For example: I received a neutral rating for a Harry Potter Promo card that was photographed (clearly a card) Identified as a Promo Card and an eBay CS Rep agreed it fell within the criteria for removal but was still utilized in my rating!

    3. Several Customer Service Representatives agreed with varying degrees of my challenge to certain metrics, agreed to remove them, stated that they wouldn't count in the metric after removal, that it would retroactively change the 20 August Performance Rating and that I would receive a follow-up email insuring this but none of this happened!

    4. The last CS Rep spoken with of 3 Sept 2014 stated that the appeals had been denied on 29 Aug, that an alleged call was made to me on 28 Aug to discuss this (no message), and that all that had been promised to me was not in the power of the Representatives although she saw in the comments trail that they agreed with some of my contentions and forward them for further review!

    5. Total time dedicated to conversing with eBay representatives and articulation of e-mail 20 plus hours with no appropriate resolution!

    6. In 16 years of dealing with eBay my survey ratings for their performance have been historically high 8-10 but I cannot in good faith recommend eBay to new sellers with a system so flawed and prejudicial to small sellers where even erroneous allegations are charged against the seller! Rating eBay's Performance Standard, CS, Member to Member and Escalations performance now would be in the 1-3 category!

Recently had an influx of customer returns, of which whilst unfortunate - all were fully refunded and handled properly and fairly. However some customers refused to return items and instead demanded partial refunds else they would leave negative feedback. I refused to refund partially and instead offered a full refund upon items return - this resulted in no item being returned and negative feedback on my account. Now - here's the interesting bit - I complained about the feedback being unfair to ebay and it has since all been removed by ebay so 100% positive again - but next thing I know - defect rate is below global seller standard at 11.5% based on last 12 months and now I have been "Indefinitely suspended from ebay".

I've tried to call eBay to talk about it and was told "the executives upstairs have decided that you can no longer trade on ebay - ever!" So with over 13K sales, 10 Years an account holder and 1900 positive feedback - eBay have sacked me off overnight. I even wrote a letter to the "head office" in Ireland - no response. I've tried to set up other accounts - but they have been blocked as have been linked to my main account. They wont even communicate with me. I heard a seller in the USA is taking ebay to court over these "bad business practices" as they always seem to rule in favour of the buyer. I pray for the result of this case to win in the plaintiffs favour as the repercussions against ebay could be massive. As I was in process of setting up a small business (and using ebay as my main outlet) I now find myself at risk of bankruptcy as I cannot shift any of my stock, nor pay bills.

It went well. 3 sales with good feedback. I did not plan to sell again but they sent me an offer saying if I sold $50 by a certain date, they'd give me a $50 coupon to spend on eBay. Couldn't refuse and started selling. Went well until a buyer said I sent him an empty box. Was abusive from the beginning before I even responded.

I filed all my proof including a receipt from the P.O. showing the weight. Even though this guy had lots of problems with other sellers and a history of abusive feedback to other new sellers, they gave him the money. I did insure the box, so I guess I'm not out the money but I will never buy or sell on eBay again. Still waiting for my $50 coupon, then they will never see me again. I don't know how they can treat their sellers this way, especially those who are just getting started.

My argument is that why should I be made to take a brand NEW PHONE which was defective when it reached me to Spice Center which is 15 km away from my house and season is rainy here in India and I am not able to drive or walk due to paralysis. THIS IS ABSOLUTE HARASSMENT FROM EBAY AND INHUMAN BEHAVIOR TOWARD A PARALYZED PERSON BY LOWER LIMBS. I REQUEST AN ETHICAL AND MORE HUMAN ACTION ON THIS SIMPLE ISSUE. For me who values my money as I am without job currently and spend a lot of money on my health (due to paralysis). Please resolve early. I do not want to post my video against eBay on YouTube and post my article against eBay on various INTERNATIONAL BLOG SITES which will affect eBay business in all countries and expose eBay embarrassing truth and inhumanity to the world.

My email to eBay INDIA is as below: "EBay Guarantee claim - **. My phone gets switched off after some time as its sensor seems to be working properly. The same cannot be proved with images. Moreover I do not want to go to spice center for this brand new item as we expect a new product should work perfectly fine. Moreover I am paralyzed and cannot travel."

Even if I was a HEALTHY person (no customer a defective product delivered by eBay), IT IS EBAY RESPONSIBILITY TO GET PRODUCTS CHECKED AND SENT ACROSS IN WORKING CONDITION. I have always shopped on eBay on trust of eBay and its guarantee. I hope eBay will not cheat me... and refund my money. I have sent images of the box to eBay, BUT EBAY IS NOT RESPONDING SINCE 2 WEEKS.

They can only understand ONE concept at a time and hardly that little bit of information! I felt like I was talking to a foreigner who was 3 years old! I'm filing a complaint in behalf of my husband selling at eBay. He's been in eBay for a longer years and mostly positive feedback from the buyers. Recently, there is a buyer complaint to my husband. The card was damage, he never contacted my husband about the damage card. He just leave a negative feedback. He also never contacted eBay for this.

When my husband call the eBay 4 times, they cannot resolve the issue and the worse part is eBay hold all the funds that my husband sold because of the stupid buyer feedback. eBay counted is a 4 negative feedback from the stupid buyers instead of 1 feedback. eBay have no rights to hold of the funds that my husband sold. It was our money, not eBay's money. Where is the protection of the seller? That means eBay just protect bad buyers from the seller. We want our money. Why are they holding the entire funds? SELLER DON'T SELL AT EBAY ANYMORE. GO TO DIFFERENT AUCTION SITE. EBAY DON'T PROTECT THE SELLER.

Really Bad experience with eBay. I purchased shampoo and conditioner from eBay. Seller shipped only shampoo. After few days and raising request with eBay on missing item, eBay guy calls to confirm whether I received missing item, which I did not. He said that I have a DRS copy, which says item was delivered. I asked him to find out from Courier Company where did they deliver. He did not come back for a week. Upon calling customer care after a week, they say that they will come back in 24 hours. Within 24 hours my guarantee claim was closed without even calling me.

Upon escalating this, I got call from supervisor Aniket. He ridiculously started blaming that item was delivered and was not ready to share copy of DRS copy received from courier company and was asking me to visit courier company in Bangalore which is ridiculous. He also says “if you are not ready to visit courier company in Bangalore that mean courier company is right and you are lying". Extremely ridiculous behavior. Then what is the use of online shopping? EBay does not even take responsibly of delivering right and if item does not get delivered to you, they do not hold responsibility of checking with Courier Company too. Not sure if item was actually shipped by seller, as they were not ready to share copy of courier receipt. People just lose money by shopping at eBay.

    Graphics Video Card UK (231239329273)

Awaiting item delivery on not as described case (Closed)

Case Unresolved and closed by eBay. I was forced to return the item to Hong Kong at more than the refund amount (LOL).

    1. The item arrived but was not as described. 2. The item was damaged in receipt (The fan was damaged due to poor packaging bubble wrap for video card. lol again). The item was then tested in the system and was faulty on top of the fact that it was not the right item and the one fan was damaged. 3. I took screenshots of the display adapter and what it looked like when in the pc and of the item in detail of the damaged fan and the packaging and opened a case with eBay. 4. The second card was ordered shortly after the first but before I received the first item ordered on Jul 24, 2014, still not received item. A case was opened and that's where the poo hit the fan. 5. eBay messed up and entered the the item as not as described and to be returned lol again as how do return an item if I did not receive it?

The reason they gave for closing the case was I gave the wrong tracking number? So is it that easy for the seller and eBay to dismiss the buyer's condition of being ripped off? Close the case, the seller gets to keep the money, I get to be Pi**ed off and will never buy again on eBay. Win-win all round.

Today's date is 8/29/2014. As I feel eBay breathing down my back, I decided to write this. As I have a feeling in the pit of my stomach I decided to start this diary and I hope to be wrong. As I do believe the concept that the buyer is always right. 8/29/2014 My experience to the end on eBay. I am sure a lot of average sellers fit into my category. We sell things to makes money to help pay for our everyday expenses. We are not a company and returns to us are like throwing money in the trash. I am disabled and do not get out a lot and am allowed to earn some extra income so this helped pay the bills. Because I am not looking up exact dates I am just going to give you a timeline.

I started eBay about 12 years ago by selling a Mickey Mantle rookie card in an auction. I had been collecting baseball cards for years thinking maybe someday they would go to my kids then grandkids. It sold for $110.00 and I was very excited. The card itself was in a heavy plastic case so I put it in an envelope with a stamp on it and mailed it out. When the buyer got it he emailed me to let me know he was very happy but suggested I mail my items packaged better and with a tracking number so a buyer does not state they did not receive their item. I thanked him. And he gave me a great feedback.

Because I enjoyed the experience and made some extra money I decided to continue selling items of all different kinds. My husband is sort of a hoarder and has always went to Thrift stores and garage sales and I definitely had a full garage of stuff. So we made an agreement that he would have his office room in our house that was off limits, but anywhere else in the house was o.k. This may bother some hoarders but my husband seems to be the type that likes to learn about something new, then he gets bored with most of it. eBay was going pretty good at the time. My items were listed as sold as-is and buyers seem to be reading my ads because things were going great. As time went on I did have some problems which I figured out was because I sell so many different types of items that it is hard for me to know everything about every item and buyers seem to think you should.

My 2 main issues at the time were Buyers who would buy something for a certain purpose and then realize the item they purchased would not work for whatever they purchased it to do. (The reason I know this is because they emailed me with the question before they would purchase and I would tell them I do not know.) The other is new items would be opened, used for whatever purpose they bought it for, then wanted to return it used. They would send me an email which always states item not as described and does not work, as it is the most logical thing to say for any buyer that wants to return an item no matter the situation. I would tell the buyer to return the item and the refund is purchase price + original shipping. I never argued with the buyer as I would rather get the item back the way I sent it so I could resell it.

A lot of buyer at this time would not communicate with me in any way and just left negative feedback. The other situation I choose and was hoping would help keep buyers happy, if a buyer states the item was damaged in shipment I would tell them to send me a picture of the damage and I would refund them and they did not need to return the item. This was hit and miss as I felt some buyers damaged the item slightly for the refund when this statement was in my ad, when it was removed from my ad this issue happened a lot less. Some of the craziest things that happened throughout my experiences up to now:

    1) A buyer purchased a weather product that must be hooked up to a computer to set up. After I shipped the item the buyer emailed me stating they had a friend that worked for the post office and I should send the item Priority mail and double box it because if I do not, it is sure to be damaged upon arrival. I emailed the buyer back stating I had already shipped the item and you choose to pay for parcel post so it was shipped the way it was paid for. 3 days later the buyer emailed me where is the package. I looked up the tracking number and copy and pasted the information that the USPS gives you. The buyer emailed me back stating it is sure to be damaged when it arrives. (*Any seller know this is already going to be a problem). When the buyer received their package I did not hear anything for a week then the buyer emailed me stating they could not figure it out or get the item to work right.

I googled the item for information on setting it up correctly and emailed it to them a week later. Then the buyer emails me the item was damaged in shipment. I emailed back stating you never said that, you only said you could not get it to work right. I was emailed back if I do not refund their purchase without having them send the item back it will be returned damaged. So what's the point. I refunded the buyer and the buyer left me negatives feedback and low ratings. I decided to call eBay and sent them the emails. Their statement was "there are very few buyers like this so it should not hurt your ratings." eBay changes its policies constantly and it is very hard to keep up with them. At this time I had found out that a buyer can return an item for almost any reason. They can leave us negative feedback whether we deserve it or not, even if we can prove we do not deserve it and all we can leave them is have a nice day.

    2) I sold a computer tablet with a cracked screen, the unit powered on and worked. However I decided to sell it in the parts only category so there would not be any issues after reading information on Google that items in that category cannot be returned. So I took pictures of the item powered on and of the cracked screen and the item sold in an auction. After the buyer received the item he emailed me stating he wanted to return the item as the screen was cracked more than he thought. I told him "you got to be kidding, this was sold in a parts only category." Conclusion: He opened a case. I escalated it and he won and I got a strike against me because at this time if you solve a case on your own it is not held against you. I will never sell in the parts category again because buyers pay less in that category due to it being parts only. This is the last really crazy one then I will be up-to-date.

    3) I was selling a keyboard and was surprised when the buyer was international. I think the keyboard sold for like $150.00 the shipping was 119.00 through UPS. I made the label through PayPal and dropped the item at UPS. The buyer got the item and was very happy. 2 days later UPS pulled 880.00 out of my PayPal account. Conclusion when I printed the label from PayPal for some reason the weight was listed as 0.00 lbs and the total shipping price for the weight was almost 1000.00. I had no repercussion for this happening and I fought for months as to why they would allow me to make a label with 0.00 weight and nothing popped up to state you need to add a weight amount and my ads are set up for weighted shipping prices. eBay, PayPal, UPS all stated it was no one's fault but mine own. UPS punches the information in at all their location centers and no one bothered to say anything to anyone. I only ship through UPS when I have no choice now. I guess this happened at the right time as I had been doing good on eBay and was saving a nest egg in PayPal. So I got lucky and it did not put me out of business. Normally it would have.

This is pretty much where we are now. With eBay over the time I had opened a second eBay account because my husband wanted to start selling books. Never really happened though. Like most other sellers my account was limited a while back. I called eBay once to have my account raised when it was considered above average and I felt like I had to grovel for it, but they raised me a whole 50, I was so proud. I had around 1500 item listed when they limited my account and they cancelled all but 300. I am sure it hurt others like it hurt me. I was making 1500-3000 a month and now I make 300.00-1000. What a drop but I have to keep going. I need whatever I can get like most sellers.

eBay is the most stressful thing I have ever done. You try very hard and eBay still gives you the idea you are a waste of life and this type of business is not for you. My account was above average till this new star rating came out. My account says above standard, but when I go into the dashboard I am below standards. I have had 10 items not as described in a year, but no returns as I solved all the problems. However it is meaningless with eBay whether you solve the problem or not.

As I am doing my best and waiting for my next eBay evaluation on 9/20/2014 I have already had 2 hiccups. 1) A buyer has not received her item. I looked up the tracking and it has been sitting in one location for over a week. Because I have no answer and all my tracking is uploaded, I just refunded the buyer and told her to keep an eye out for the package. (THAT'S 1 DEFECT) 2) Sold an item as used. I always take pictures of power items turned on to show the buyer and to cover my butt. However the buyer opened a case item not as described. I explained to him that the item was tested and I took pictures of the unit powered on. He stated that does not matter it does not work now. So he has a 17.00 paperweight. I am not sure where to go there, so I refunded his money and he keeps the item. (Defect 2) I will see a lot of you on the other side.

This is a complaint that eBay is now trying to rip sellers off by making it obligatory that all sellers use eBay Managed returns. Which means that no matter the actual sale price of an item, if a buyer makes a complaint about an item he/she will be automatically issued with a returns label costing £2.80 which the seller is expected to pay. My company sell posters at £2.49 & £4.49 and that includes postage (as eBay suggested, as they say people like included postage). So if a buyer changes their mind and puts a complaint into eBay saying the item is not as advertised, eBay will automatically issue a return label and refund the buyer. So that would be £2.49 + £2.80 = £5.29 paid out by us for a £2.49 item. It doesn't take buyers long to realize that the new system of "WE GUARANTEE YOU A FULL REFUND IF YOU DON'T GET WHAT YOU ORDERED" being advertised all over eBay is a way to get a product and also get their money back.

So far we have been caught out this way twice. A buyer even had the cheek to send us a message outside of eBay, extolling the virtues of this new system and also thanked us for a brilliant product. When this was forwarded to eBay, the agent said, "We can't do anything about it as the message was sent from outside of eBay." So Sellers are buggered if they do as eBay say and also Buggered if they don't do as eBay say. Also if you decide ok, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, and decide to close your shop you have to give eBay 30 days notice, But eBay have just told me that I will be Messaged just before this system kicks in. No notice. So eBay still earns out of it. After long discussions with my business partner, we have decided we can no longer afford eBay. CAN ANYONE ELSE RECOMMEND ANOTHER AUCTION SITE THAT WE CAN MOVE TO?

To be accurate and fair, I have sold on eBay for two solid years with over 400 FB and I have nearly $30k in sales in this time period. I sell for people in my community and have worked on accounting very closely because I invoice my customers on my own software. eBay has a tendency to make overnight changes on their fee structure to include adding fees, changing fees and making automated changes based on seller status. If you accidentally post a duplicate listing during listing renewals, there is no way to get those fees back. You are allotted one refund and then you are stuck with their poor customer service with little to no resolution for your 25-75 cent fee.

The problem is eBay counts on you giving up. Then these fees add up. The term: "Nickel and dime you to death", is living fat and well at eBay. eBay runs their invoices two weeks off of PayPal's billing cycles so you have to filter through both sets of paperwork to figure out how these fees keep showing and increasing week to week; i.e., two weeks' worth of fee fluctuations show on PayPal for one month but do not show up on eBay invoices because of the overlap. So this is a trick that most people do not see. eBay not only charges a percentage on shipping, it also started having FedEX shipping billable to accounts on PayPal. If you do not watch both PayPal and eBay closely, overlapping will occur here too causing mistakes on your actual eBay invoice for items already paid via automatic payment via PayPal.

All of this confusion is intentional. How hard is it for PayPal and eBay (who are sister companies) to merge their billing cycles? Because it would be in plain sight to all sellers and not just those who re-do accounting for their own clients? Go figure. I cancelled my account with eBay for the sheer fact that they DO NOT care about their sellers. eBay never made contact with me unsolicited until I closed my account. Then they sent me a box within 24 hours telling me how I was valued. I guess I, the seller, am just another number to them. Well....now I am one LESS number to them. Taking my items to eBid.

Not happy :-( It appears to be an ongoing eBay fraud committed by Chinese companies, falsely stating the item's location in the UK (or any other country they are trying to con folks in). I bought a sun hat, using buy-it-now (7colorstore), luckily for a rather small amount of money - location was stated just down the road at the South coast. Maximum delivery time 5 - 7 days. Item arrived after 20 days with a Chinese stamp on it. Obviously the hat arrived far too late for me to actually make use of it. EBay and seller want me to pay return postage to CHINA! In order to receive my money back. Very, very annoying and not in line with the British Sale Of Goods Act, nor the Distance Selling Regulation legislation. In addition, I do wonder if that seller writes his positive feedback himself - considering "buyers" stating how quickly they received their goods.

An Accounts Rep told me, "Well it's ultimately up to us whether or not your account is reinstated!" O.K. I have read a lot of bad comments. I have been on ebay a very long time and have had good and bad, but actually mostly good. Many years ago I used to sell old glass and pottery. It took me three times to find out that people will buy your product (even antiques) and pull a switch-a-roo on you. I finally purchased a black light pen (off eBay), marked my items and made it known in my listings. No problem after that.

Today. I list my auctions with in depth descriptions. If there is a tiny ear mark in a book, I mark it down. If you read my listing, the actual description of the product is not as long as everything else. When I learn something knew (especially when I get continual questions about one thing), I put it in my description. I do my best to educate my buyers. You have to remember that people buying do not know the ins and outs like a seller does (or should).

I give the best customer service I can. It is a pain sometimes because I work full time and do eBay on the side. However if a question comes in, I answer it. It is amazing how many thanks yous I get from just answering a question. If I ask a question of a seller when I buy and they won't answer, I move on. If you can't take the time to answer me, how is the rest of your customer service?

Most of the items I sell are no longer breakable (thank goodness). However I still take the time to ensure they are wrapped properly. I have found that I can get the white wrapping paper moving companies use and it works, and is not expensive. Breakable items are packed tighter than a sardine. If I get that gut instinct I make sure I take pictures of the packing and everything else. If I really get that feeling I will buy on my own dime extra insurance. Trust me it is worth it. I do get a bit nervous when I sell electronics. I am talking about a cell phone when I upgraded and a laptop that was hardly ever used. However, so far no issues.

Returns. I do not take returns unless the item is not as described. However there is a time that it is not worth it. One woman complained that I wasn't like a store (and she named the store), (please I am an individual). She was threatening (this is a by product of the inability to leave bad feedback). I read half her email, told her to return the item in the same condition she received it and I would refund everything plus the amount she paid to ship to me. (I have a little fund for this type of thing). It took her a month to send it, but she finally did. After the transaction was complete, I blocked her. I don't have time for people who want the world for nothing. My time is worth more than these people will spend. If I make a mistake, I will own up to it and I will either replace it or refund their money. It makes sense.

Sending packages. I had a woman who said she didn't get her package. The tracking number said she got it. However eBay refunded her money from their account. Two weeks later she leaves me glowing feedback she got her package. No wonder she is happy, she got it for free, free, free. I turn these people in because eBay does track serial complainers/scammers.

The bottom line is, I take the time to write excruciating detailed auction descriptions (use turbo lister and cut and paste) and good pictures. I go above and beyond and give each and every customer (even those who are mean) the type of customer service I want to receive. I also ship the next day. Trust me this can be a major pain but this goes hand in hand with customer service. I also acknowledge return customers (I have quite a few). I want to feel special when I buy so I know they do too. Now what I hate is that I cannot leave bad feedback. This is why buyers have become threatening and attempt to use extortion. They know you are in a bind and there is no one to champion the seller. I wish they would at least let you leave neutral feedback, but no not even that. Oh for the old days.

Fees. That is something I have no control over. I can either pay them or leave. Two choices. There is no sense in me getting upset over it. I do pay attention though. Regardless, eBay is what you make of it. You need a plan whether you are a one or two item seller or a 200 item seller. I have had my share of time in the barrel, but for the most part, I am all right in my place right now.

I’m at a total loss and after phoning eBay am even more confused. I have 2 eBay accounts, this one which I predominantly buy from and another that I only sell on. Today, on this account I got an email saying that I was "indefinitely" banned from selling phone cases and PDA accessories. I thought it was an early/late April Fool’s joke but apparently the joke is on me!! I have on these 2 accounts 100% feedback with almost 7,000 green circles - NO red circles at all! I am an eBay power seller and a top rated seller too. So eBay have told me I cannot appeal against this ruling and if I sell cases again I will be thrown off the site.

If anyone can please help my teeny tiny brain cell out I'd appreciate it. The reason I have been prohibited from selling is because over the last 4 years 14 customers have gone through resolution centre to say item was not as described. I have resolved all these "problems" and either resent another case or refunded and they have all been happy BUT here lies the stinger! EBay say that because these 14 customers did NOT leave me feedback it goes against my selling power and I am now not a trustworthy seller. So I can sell anything else I want but not phone cases. I told them if they were unhappy they could have left negative feedback. Apparently NOT leaving negative feedback is WORSE than leaving it! By not leaving it, it means they were still unhappy and rather than say so they have almost put me out of business!

I am not allowed to appeal against it or complain - eBay word is law. I have told them of other sellers selling fakes (which I have countless times told them) and they are still allowed to sell! Even dangerous goods which were pulled off 2 years ago are still there! So really instead of me being smug that I have 100% feedback and (trying) to keep my customers happy I should have “bleep” them all off and gotten 1 thousand negatives because at least then I could still sell my phone cases! Those 14 people out of 7 thousand have basically shut my business down! Any ideas? Anyone?

I sold a Wireless Pet fence that had some minor cosmetic damage on the outside. The unit worked fine and had ZERO issues. I posted the pictures of the unit and the damage in the listing. The buyer had it a few days then opened a request for a refund due to the unit having more damage than what I listed. The pictures of the posting showed enough of the unit to show that there wasn't any damage more than just the cosmetic. I agreed to refund when they send the unit back. I received the unit and it was damaged MORE than just the cosmetic that I had thought they were referring to.

I contacted E Bay about this and they told me since the buyer returned the unit there wasn't anything they could do since there isn't a way to prove where the damage happened. The Buyer did not mention any damage to the shipping box when they received the unit. So now I have to refund the money and am stuck with a broken item that I will not be able to sell now. I will be closing my EBay account and my PayPal account once this is done. Ebay protects the buyer only. What a joke.

I had never done a thing wrong yet they insisted that I did have two accounts. Now this email was sent to me at a very difficult time - I had just suffered a bereavement. And yet eBay customer adviser couldn't have cared less. EBay doesn't care as it has a monopoly - there is no alternative which is disgusting in 2014.

Ebay announced new seller dashboard policies earlier this year and it was a thinly disguised fee increase in the making. That is exactly what has occurred for me, and probably many other sellers who were formerly Top Rated. I have been selling and buying on eBay since 1999. Currently have one (1) negative rating (unjustified) in the past year from a seller who never contacted me, and a 99.9% satisfaction rating. I paid close to $5,000 in eBay and paypal fees in 2013. When my 20% discount vanishes for moving from Top rated seller to an above standard seller, that translates to an approximate 25% fee increase for me.

Note that the new rating system makes it almost impossible to have a top rated status and qualify for discounts on selling fees. I was Top rated for two years and have worked hard to provide customer service. Many of my customers have been return customers. I have often accepted returns when it was an I don't like it or it doesn't fit (even with all measurements provided) situation, and even taken a return of pants that were obviously worn, all in an attempt to keep my and eBay's customers happy. I have unsuccessfully attempted to fight eBay's unfair ruling when a customer returned a used watch instead of the new Invicta which I mailed out, even though I had photos of the new watch which was mailed out in pristine condition. eBay continues to extort fees from its sellers, and I plan to work down my inventory and leave the website within the year.

I have been a buyer on eBay since day one. A few months back I sold a few items I no longer needed to make a bit of my money back. I really needed some extra cash, since my husband had passed. I am on a fixed income. I have bought things here and there from them for years and never knew how devious people can be. I sold a rare Morgan Dollar, said "look at the coin." I know very little about coins. I stated all sales are final- no refunds! I just found out that don't mean squat. One eBay rep. said my listing was just fine and the buyer had buyer's remorse. When the buyer slapped a second claim against me, the eBay rep. was in favor of the buyer!!! Nowhere in my description did I say the coin was NOT CLEANED. He claimed he took it to a coin shop and they told him it was cleaned and not worth the money he spent.

He emailed me a question if it was cleaned and eBay made a decision on an email not the ad. All I said was I did not know if the coin was cleaned. How does that violate description laws and rules. Why buy the coin to begin with if you have doubts? The buyer 3.5 weeks later says to eBay without contacting me, the item is not as described, and files a claim. Three weeks later!!! Honestly it now sounds like a well laid plan. Almost like he had done this many times. Pay Pal puts a hold on my account. I call they lift it. I said "how can you claim against me 3 weeks later for buyer's remorse?" Saying No Refunds All Sales are Final is a bunch of bull!! Pay Pal/eBay says the buyer has the right to buyer protection up to 90 days to return an item, and we (eBay/PayPal) reserve the right to take it out of your money, account, Credit Cards.. whatever. The buyer does not have to notify you!!

Like you other out there I read, they take what is grocery/gas money away from me, and I do not even have the item. Like the guy with the records, I believe am in a bait and switch situation. Pay Pal said they can keep your item and still make you refund!?? These are buyers who have 100% feedback too. You know why? Most people feedback as soon as a buyer pays! Who thinks of someone turning around almost 4 weeks later putting a bad mark against me or any other seller for non-refund. Item not as described? After 3 weeks? When a case is opened against a seller, the buyer from my understanding, can change my feedback profile, but I cannot change theirs to reflect and warn other sellers of scamming ways. Once dishonest buyers get a major wind of this, no one will be safe.

eBay/Pay Pal admitted I did nothing wrong. It is buyer protection. What about the seller protection against scamming buyers? All they said was to block the buyer because of his harassing emails and not to escalated any neg. conversations that can be used against ME. The buyer is goading me (AGAINST ME?) for my item. This is so you can get your merchandise back. If buyer can prove harassment back from me, I could lose the item and the money. I said that I wanted a review done on this person to see how many times he has pulled the exact same thing on other sellers. I also told them it is not right that the buyer can reverse feedback on me via a claim, but I cannot edit or update the buyer profile to warn others. Now I know and have learned a few things that are total lies. ALL SALES FINAL. *NO RETURNS*NO REFUNDS*. YOU CANNOT BELIEVE BUYER FEEDBACK. *YOU CAN LOSE YOUR ITEMS AND STILL BE CHARGED BACK*.

What does mean to you? Well that depends...if you're a scammer, it means you can literally ship an empty box and still get your refund the day the empty box arrives to sucker (I mean seller) and keep the item you stole from them and eBay will back you up. If you're a good eBayer...don't sell anything on eBay. You are not protected and will lose your person valuables like us. Wish I was making this stuff up...just got off the phone with eBay and that is their actual policy... They shipped two different items in name of pair. When I complained they said they will reship the correct one and that will take 1 week. As they had already spoiled my plan I told them hold on for a week as I'll be away from town and will not be able to collect but they initiated the process and closed it within the same week. They even not bother to call me.. When I came back and asked them to reship my Item they said they have closed it and will not entertain the request. I gave the mail as well what I sent to them to hold on but they never hear me... Later I get to know it's not happened only with me but a huge list of such cases. I have seen, in the last few years, the climate get so bad for sellers that I will NO LONGER SELL ON EBAY, and I read that over and over again from others. After 13 years, and with a 99.8% positive feedback score, suddenly my monthly sales are capped at 15 items or $10,000. I just imported a shipload of French antiques, from my collection in Paris, with price points from $5K to $75K. My sales used to be unrestricted. Now, effectively, I can't list anything. Add to this their RIDICULOUS "hassle-free return" policy, and it's "Sayonara eBay!" I'm already selling at 1stdibs and Ruby Lane, and 20 of my pieces will be sold through Bonhams in September, with another lot in January. Christie's is also taking some stock from me. I don't need eBay anymore, and they certainly don't deserve my money.

So recently, I paid the $1.56 in order to reopen my Seller's account. Now they talking about they require an additional Credit/Debit Card for reimbursement fee in case a buyer request a refund. Plus they hold your money from buyer's hostage for 21 days and you have to pay to ship the buyer's item in case they say they didn't receive it or some other scam. NO WAY!

There are too many Scammers out there that purchase things online and pretend they didn't receive it or someone stole it from their porch etc. eBay and Paypal both will refund the scammers money before investigating. They win, you lose and it leaves you out a merchandise AND money for the item and the buyer probably laughing and move on to the next Seller to scam. I sell only on Amazon now. They probably turn around and sell the item elsewhere.

I send my items usually within 3 days or less. I sold an item to a UK buyer and he claimed it was broken. So I offered to replace it if he sent it back. He refused to return it. I send ALL records with a tiny micro mark on them for identification to prevent the ole switcheroo. Ebay kissed his ** and gave him his money back. Now I am out the money and still owe my consignor for the record!!! That is straight up THEFT no if's and's or but's it is CRIMINAL. I have on other occasions had my account locked in the middle of the night for BS reasons and once when I stopped on the way to a record show I could not get gasoline and was 90 miles from home on stuck on E at 5:00 AM. I had to borrow $15.00 from my helper just to get to the show.

Ebay's rampant criminal money harvesting has likely caused more than one person to be arrested and I am sure others have had evil thoughts about how to get even with these low life scum bucket piles of monkey dung that manage the ULTIMATE LEGAL scam. They have a monopoly and are exploiting it, very reminiscent of what went on 110 years ago when the government had to step in and break them up before they sucked the whole country dry. The billionaires just scoff at what we sellers lose. $150 to them is just pocket change. $150 buys my food gas and helps on my monthly expenses. Those idiots spend that on a spoonful of caviar then spit it out because it had a slightly off flavor. My guess is the Ebay squeeze may be part of the master plan to subjugate the poor and force them to conform and give away all their money to a greedy corporation. It is my guess that the majority of the affected sellers these days may be Democrats they have identified and singled out to exploit/ruin. Ever since Obama entered office the racist capitalist pigs in this country have raised prices, offered less and squeezed us for more more more (listen to the C.C.R song it ain't me).

I believe the majority of ebay stock is likely held by conscious less dead eye Republicans with tunnel vision and they are using this as another tool to get revenge for electing a black man as president. They need to be held accountable for their treasonous actions. Hurting the little guy to promote their own greedy agenda is wrong, criminal and UN AMERICAN. For those of you unaware the GOP is nearing the end of a 35 years plan to destroy public education, break/infiltrate unions and monopolize every segment of America by whatever means necessary. Why do you think mom and pop stores and restaurants are a dying thing. The reason the GOP is against abortion is the poor are expendable and if they send the poor to fight the wars their kids won't have to go BOTTOM LINE. At this point some reading this may think I am nuts but in reality everything is relative to everything else.

My best suggestion is a 1 month vacation by ALL non corporate sellers or POSSIBLY can every ebay dealer with a complaint show up at the FEDERAL courthouse during the month of October to picket and complain about all the abuses Ebay has forced upon the sellers. As a country we are are already selling our natural resources for bottom dollar to China and getting nearly worthless products in return, but the big wigs are still making a profit!! while the rest of us are going down. Are these ultra rich aliens or something ?? Is the world going to end soon and they know it or are causing it.

In ten more years there will be little in the way of resources or collectibles left in this country, it will be a sterile wasteland inhabited by the rich and those scratching to get by, no in between. Something needs done about the greed. It is alright to make money but if you have to hurt the ones making it for you it is wrong. The current state of the economic field in the US prevents the right of life liberty and pursuit of happiness. That is a VIOLATION. As citizens we should step up and demand reform. Don't waste your time calling ebay, all you will get is the runaround from clueless minimum wage clones in a third world country who read off of scripts and do not speak proper English. Rest assured using eBay customer support if you are a seller is beyond laughable. I sold an item listed as "no returns", because I provide accurate listings and am willing to answer any questions regarding the products I sell. I don't have the time, during the day, to continue back and forth with items I sell. Recently, I sold an item which the buyer contacted 3 days after he received the item, mentioning that he would like his money back because he didn't feel it was in the proper "used" condition. Never mind the fact that the item was fully functional and bought from the eBay's website under the same description. I NEVER COMPLAINED AFTER PURCHASE BECAUSE I BOUGHT IT USED. I spoke to Garrett in the resolution center asking him if he was able to review the emails and showing that I asked the buyer if he would like me to send pictures if he had any concerns. And that he never responded, and purchased the item.

Then, 3 days later, he emails me that he would like his money back. I explained to him that I did everything to assure he was getting what he paid for. The case was escalated. Garrett explained to me that they sided with the buyer because he felt like there was fading in the item. I asked if he saw that fading in the pictures I listed - he responded that they were going on the buyer's word. The good news is, if you are a buyer, you can buy, use, and return items for a full refund. That is a great deal. The bad news for a seller, you have ZERO protection from eBay. So good luck to you. No matter what attempts you make to assure the buyer is satisfied.

Ebay offer no warranty against manufacture defect and no customer support. Don't buy anything that required electricity or is complex. I opened a claims. Because I did not have a Paypal account at the time of the transaction I could not see the status of my claims on their resolution internet page. I have to do everything by phone and email with Paypal. Paypal send me an email demanding that I take some action with an internet link and no phone number or email address for support. Paypal does not want to talk to you and hear from you. Be aware that if you buy as a guest and you have to make a claim against the seller, you are pretty much alone. Don't use buy as guest.

Eventually I found an email address to contact PayPal. I send to PayPal a copy of the email that I exchange with my Asian seller where he says that he will send me a new item because the one I have is defective. PayPal send me back a reply saying I have to send back the item and its original box and it's in original condition. Obviously the item is not its original condition because I used it, this is how I know it's defective. Then I call PayPal and explain to them that the seller has lied to me and I ask them if they read the email exchange between seller and buyer. PayPal told me that they don't read the email exchange and they find it sad that seller lies but there is nothing they can do about seller not cooperating. Basically they don't care if the seller lies. I ask to her, what happen if I ship the good and the seller says he have not received it. Read horror stories about people return good to China for a refund.

PayPal have very big security issues. PayPal want me to return the defective item to Korea. The only problem is that the returning address provide by PayPal did not have a postal code, and does not have the seller name. PayPal gives me a false return address. I am going to demand a credit card charge back. My case against Paypal will be easy to make because, first I have the email exchange that proves that the seller lied and second, the return postal address is incorrect. PayPal does not run any security check on their Asian seller. PayPal don't check if the postal code of Asian seller is accurate. Don't use PayPal and Ebay because they have big security problems. There is no buyer protection on Ebay. Google credit card charge back and kept email exchange with seller and PayPal and raise a credit charge back right away.

My conclusion is that eBay has lost a lot of customer and seller because of bad practice. Now they have decide to scam people using Chinese seller. First they export all the job to China, now they are using the Chinese to scam us. So the buyer protection is really rigid and is made to protect Asia seller. This is why they remove negative feedback and they are closing US account. Nobody is going to sue a Chinese seller. Ebay is now a scam organization using Chinese seller. I think that there is no buyer protection program or seller protection program, except for big Chinese warehouse selling Chinese crap to defraud people. When your business model is based on fraud, it means that you are dying. If I were a seller or buyer, I will stop using Ebay at all, except for Chinese seller.

Shipping back defective item should be the responsibility of the seller. This way, it forces the seller to sell quality products (not cheap junk) and reduce the number of scammers. The return policy is designed so that you pay the shipping fee. Paying shipping for a non-expensive item don't make sense. This is where eBay and the seller make money. By selling cheap china junk that don't last and demanding that you pay shipping fees for the return of a defective item.

My husband still had his 3 accounts so he continued to sell our items on eBay without any problems up until a few nights ago. He received an email that since his account was associated with mine, his account was being limited to being able to sell 0 items at a time as well.

We called eBay Customer Support to find out why they were doing this to our seller accounts. We were told that eBay was not allowing us to sell any longer because we had low seller ratings. I explained that my seller rating is 100% and my husband's is 100% as well, so this did not make sense. They continued to repeat that we would no longer be allowed to sell on eBay and that there was nothing they could do to overturn this decision.

After reading consumer complaints from other sellers on eBay being treated the same way, I smell a class action lawsuit coming. I would bet money this is something the law field is getting ready to hit media with very soon as this is a free country and we cannot be denied our rights. What proof does eBay have that any of these sellers have done anything wrong to warrant kicking them off from selling on eBay and, if they have the proof, why are they not sharing it with the sellers and being honest as to why they really are cancelling sellers from their site? Something isn't right here... Not sure what it is but I am sure that time will tell. Meanwhile, we are moving on to place our internet store together through bonanza.com.

I've had two notices of MC999 violations, even though there seems to be no Vero report, at least no contact information as promised in guidelines, and after each there is a seven-day prohibition to listing anything else. The one listing that caused the second violation had been listed but not removed the previous week, so of course I thought it was fine. Mostly I'm selling compact discs as I want to sell my collection of 3000.

Some of my discs are imports, but all purchased from legitimate sources, some from Best Buy and many from eBay sellers. Prior to posting most of my discs, I search on eBay to get an idea of the asking prices of other sellers. Two weeks ago, they took down 17 of the 60 or so discs I had listed, although as mentioned there was no indication of a Vero complaint (one Elvis Presley disc was purchased on a trip to Graceland, I don't think the Elvis estate would sell unlawful recordings).

Every one of those discs is available from other eBay sellers. Many are from sellers with 2000+ feedback postings, so to me it looks like they focus on small sellers, and since I have only 81 feedback postings (100% favorable), I suppose I was a good target. I did not relist those discs, but I did relist the one that they had not removed, and within minutes, there was another MC999 notice. Again there was no Vero information, so no one to contact with questions.

Now, even though other discs I would like to sell are offered by multiple other sellers, I'm scared to relist them because I have no idea how many violations I can get before they shut me down completely. This is very frustrating. I'd like to tell them I'm going to post all the others and ask them to just remove any they have a problem with as long as they remove them from the other sellers also, but I really don't want to risk pissing them off and suffering extreme consequences.

In any event, I'm upset about this and I don't know what to do. I wish I could find another site to sell these discs but I have no idea where to go. How many of you guys have eBay stock? If a number of us banded together as stockholders, we could gain the right to raise the issues many small sellers are having with eBay's heavy-handed and inconsiderate treatment at the annual stockholder's meeting.

I purchased a pair of Blundstone mules (clogs) which I was sold as new. I paid $138.00 including shipping. They looked OK when they arrived but I wore them for one day and the soles started to fall off. They had been resoled but a bad job. When I phoned eBay and went through their resolution center, they sided with the seller because the shoes had been modified by my wearing them for one day. They were not in the same condition as when I had bought them! I went to put negative feedback against the seller but it was erased. I can't believe they can do this.

I was a eBay buyer and seller for about 3 years. This year I had around 250 sales with about 5 unhappy customers. After writing several blogs and comments on the community forums where I complained about the very costly fees and especially the shipping cost for my customers in the global shipping program, my eBay site was suspended and restricted forever. Well after hours and hours of phone calls and emails attempting to resolve this restriction, I finally obtained a remedy. A agreement was made between myself and the eBay’s appeals department that if I went ahead and paid my seller fees in full $111.73 and since I have been restricted from eBay already for about 45 days that my account would be restored.

I asked the eBay rep if he could put this agreement in writing and the eBay rep agreed and sent me a email stating the nature of our conversation and as soon as complied with my end of the agreement and paid the amount of $111.73 my account would be fully restored without restriction. Well I paid and eBay lied and did not restore my account. So hours and hours again on the phone I was informed by eBay reps too bad your account will never be restored, and to compound this unethical transaction, eBay has banned and restricted all of my friends and family who have accounts with eBay including family members who live 900 miles away. I have contacted eBay in writing for breach of contract and of course still no remedy. At this point I have attempted to use other sites to sell my products however after 2 and a half years of building a customer base this is going to be a very uphill battle especially considering eBay has pretty much a monopoly with online shoppers.

I can write a book on how eBay single handed destroyed my life. I am NOT EXAGGERATING. I began with eBay way back when they just started out selling Beanie Babies! Remember those days? Remember Selling Assistants? I was one of those as well. I lost my corporate job, started to sell personalized items on eBay, business took off. Achieved PowerSeller Status which provides breaks on their horrific fees. Was processing over 800 order/month. Making anywhere from $7,000 - $10,000/month. Then all of a sudden - eBay decided to change the rules. Introduced the tiered feedback system.

Bottom line, the changes were not conducive to a personalized business - meaning a business that is "pull off the shelf, and ship". It required customer interaction - proofing process. ONE out of the 4 (or 5 - cant remember) scores dropped below the powerseller qualifying status. Guess which one? PROCESSING TIME, DUH - I sold PERSONALIZED items which required creating/sending/receiving approvals. THEY DROPPED MY ACCOUNT. UNBELIEVABLE.

The seller sent me a different dress and according to eBay policy I was to pay for the return shipping cost. I sent them numeral e-mails asking them to consider giving me a partial refund for me to keep the item and donate it because to send the item back was really expensive and they were not going to refund me for that. When I try to post the review for the seller they removed the transaction and they stole my money and I have to keep a dress that I didn't order. Bad customer service eBay. Customers be aware of the return policy. EBay works for the seller not the buyer.

I sold a right hand drive JDM dash piece that is pretty hard to come by in the USA. The ad clearly stated that it was brought over from Japan and it was for a right hand car. The buyer bought it and got mad because it faced the passenger's seat. Well I was not going to return it at first. I spoke with eBay resolution center. I agreed to refund when I got it. Well soon as a buyer inputs a tracking number the buyer gets credited. Well I got it, it was completely destroyed. I had pictures to prove it with my ups guy holding it.

I had basically had to threaten eBay to reimburse my $500. I finally got it back after couple of weeks. If I didn't fight I would not have gotten it back.

The second time not even a month later, I sold some other top dollar parts. I had clearly stated no returns and clicked their stupid little button. That does not mean crap. I have 5 continuous days of emails back and forth on sizes, part numbers and so forth. Well I ship it to this buyer and in about two weeks I get an email stated this not what I sent. I tell him it is. The buyer tells me to send him what he wanted and then he'll ship this back.

So same thing, fight with eBay. Then I learn from eBay he wants his money but doesn't want to send it back. So eBay tells him he has to, to get his money back. Even though no returns clearly stated everywhere. Once again I agree after a two with this person who has locked up my account. So he ships it finally, well it goes to a completely different town and it weighs 10 lbs more than it did when I shipped it through ups.

I speak to ups, the weight difference that much is impossible. And I cannot change the address because of eBay. So I call eBay resolution center, they tell the ship address cannot be change even though it’s not even close to my zip code. So eBay tells me I have to pay them for the reimbursement no matter what. I had to block any PayPal and have to watch my bank account . 7 months later still fighting with them. Last phone conversation was eBay threatening me lawsuit. I told the gal “Is this being recorded?” "Yes." "Well do you really think you will win this?" Now they are change the title of the bill to say something else. Like I am stupid enough to pay for it. Bottom line, craigslist is safer. Just Don’t be stupid about it.

In that way, you can protect your computer from eBay’s access to your information. EBay's system is extremely flawed because they utilize actual humans to correct the corporate head's errors in simple civility. Actually take out time to read their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, because it is limited to protection regarding either seller or buyer. It makes no difference to eBay about your complaints indicating that they protect 66,000+ sellers daily via their security, when you as a buyer or seller give away your rights to eBay as soon as you give them your social security number via becoming a member to their society. However, the other half doesn't always have to be half-full or half-empty. There are actual people who will deal with the public as though they too are in their shoes, regardless of which side of the fence. My listing description was built by myself from a-z, yet it was reported by a bogus vero to eBay as being in text and images violation. EBay took it down instantly. I challenged their decision, they re-instated it after convincing them it was removed in error as this fake vero appeared to be a previous bad customer. The same thing happened again a week later by the same fake vero. I challenged their decision again 'with evidence' but they refused to re-instate it this time claiming they have to act on reported listings without investigation. I believe many vero members abuse the vero system, with eBay's knowledge, to eliminate competition but eBay doesn't give a damn about it.

Some buyers are abusive and arrogant, they are rapidly on the increase in number because the way eBay is running allows them to take advantage of the system, some sellers are being seriously bullied as a result of eBay's corrupt system and eBay doesn't give a damn about it also. Every time I contact eBay customer support, it takes ages to get through to speak to who they claim to be the right department, and when I manage to speak to someone, they read from a text like a robot without logic which on many occasions has been irrelevant to my inquiry. eBay staff members are unprofessional, incompetent, and eBay doesn't give a damn about it.

Ebay is getting away with all what they do because they feel they have a monopoly as there's no real near match yet to the amount of traffic they are able to generate to their websites making them more attractive than any current alternative. My account has been 'indefinitely' suspended because eBay will not be short of reasons to suspend any account as and when they want. We will continue to hear more horror stories unless one day eBay collapses or a real competitor emerges soon.

I purchased 2 Running Hats, from the seller "onemorebass", around the end of May 2014. What I put under "product you dealt with" was an exact paste of most of their title, for the items. I bought the hats for a gift for my husband. He has been running, for years and I have bought him many hats. They are usually adjustable with Velcro and usually work, for my husband, unless they are actually women's hats. My husband does not have an unusually large head. He had to put the hats past the largest adjustment and then safety pin them, to make them work for him.

I left the seller a neutral stating that the hats run small for men. While the seller did offer to refund my money, they acted like it wasn't their fault as to how the hat sizes run when they SHOULD ACTUALLY DESCRIBE THE HATS AS ON THE SMALL SIDE, FOR MEN. I did not want my money back. My husband had made the hats work well enough - even though I would never have bought them if I had known that he would have to go through the trouble that he did to get the hats to fit. The seller also asked me to revise the Neutral Feedback that I had left for them. I never agreed to removing the feedback. The seller had replied to it saying that they had offered me a refund. I replied that the seller had refused to change how they describe the size of the hats. I did not ever get a refund and did not want one but I did want the seller to have to keep their honest Neutral Feedback. I did not ever agree to revise it.

Somehow the seller got eBay to remove their positive feedback, that they left for me and the neutral feedback that I left for them. I feel like I used the feedback system as it is meant to be used and then eBay took that away from me. They just make me feel like buyers don't really matter to them. A buyer should be able to leave honest feedback. My feedback did not go against any of their guidelines and yet, they still removed it. It is very wrong and frustrating. I wish something could be done to make their site a place where a buyer can feel like they can tell the truth about their purchase. I don't have that many options, as I am disabled and need to do most of my shopping online. It is very sad that "onemorebass" is one of their "top-rated" sellers. I have been a good, reliable and honest seller and buyer. I mostly buy, on their site, these days and - yet - that is how they treated me. I hesitate to check that I want an attorney to contact me because I can't put any money into someone helping me with the complaint. I guess I am just hoping that enough people complain about eBay taking the power of leaving honest feedback, away from their good buyers.

I purchased an item in on German ebay and paid by wire, not by paypal. The seller used very inadequate packing and the item was damaged in shipment. I filed a case in the ebay resolution center and posted many messages and photos of the damage -- but the case was not reviewed at all by ebay simply because I had not paid through Paypal. Instead the case was closed in the seller's favor with the statement from ebay that the reason the case was closed was because I had never paid for the item.

To add insult to injury, ebay also removed my negative feedback posted for the seller -- stating that because the case was decided against me I had no right to post any feedback. A supervisor told me that essentially in the view of ebay - the transaction never took place. Yet ebay did not cancel the transaction and took their usual profit from the sale. I am disgusted by this unfair treatment and note to buyers - that unless you let ebay profit doubly with both sellers fees and paypal fees they will penalize you by taking away your rights to post any feedback at all.

Now, I honestly don't believe that for one second. My reason is simply because he mentioned that the word, "iPod" in two of my listings is a violation of the eBay policy. Now, I tried to compromise with this guy in regards to taking the word, "iPod" out of those two listings. Even if I took the word, "iPod" out of those two listings, he still had a problem with my listings. Without the word, "iPod", he said that I would be borderline, meaning that my listings are too long for his liking. Now, nowhere in their policy does it explicitly state that your titles have to be a certain length. If anyone has experienced this same issue, please respond to this posting. Thanks so much. My complaints and issues with eBay are too numerous to mention here; so, I am going to post as much info as possible. eBay, for a very short time, required buyers to contact sellers and allow them 3 days to resolve issues before they were allowed to open a case. Now, eBay asks buyers to do this, but they don't enforce it. Buyers are also saying that when they try to send me a message, eBay only allows them to open a case. Also, the rules were that any case that was resolved would not count against a seller's account. Now ANY case that is opened counts against us. I have had buyers open cases just to ask me a question... They claim that eBay wouldn't allow them to send me a message.

There are many unscrupulous buyers out there who have learned that NO MATTER WHAT, eBay always sides with the buyers. So, they have learned that they can use extortion to get discounts and refunds. It's supposed to be against eBay rules, but I have notified them numerous times, and they have done nothing. All a buyer has to do is claim that something is not as described, and they get their money back. I have had buyers return empty packages to me. I even sold a computer and posted that it did not include the hard drive (to protect my privacy). They opened a case against me, and of course I had to let them return the computer. When the returned it, they had removed (stolen) the DVD player. He obviously needed this part and knew that he could cheat me out of it. I contacted eBay, but they did nothing. The list goes on and on... I have tried selling on other sites, but they don't have the customer volume that eBay does... unfortunately. If I could find a better venue to sell, I would definitely switch.

Been a seller for 8 years with a 99.9% Feedback score of over 5000. No reason or violations. They are not comfortable, all of a sudden, with my selling practices and put me flat out! No need for ** & complaints please read the next paragraph. Now the real issue here is flat out pure discrimination! Federal laws prohibit discrimination based on a person's national origin, race, color, religion, disability, sex, and familial status. Laws prohibiting national origin discrimination make it illegal to discriminate because of a person's birthplace, ancestry, culture or language. This means people cannot be denied equal opportunity because they or their family are from another country because they have a name or accent associated with a national origin group, because they participate in certain customs associated with a national origin group, or because they are married to or associate with people of a certain national origin.

Sounds simple? Last time I checked, the internet is open to all. I have never been denied access to any site for no apparent reason ever. Yes, some sites require fees or membership or of the same interests for participation. The internet is open for all. To place a restriction on a member with no reason or explanation is invalid! Yes, guidelines are and always will be necessary. However, in many cases and mine as well, none of the violations were violated. Simply stated on their behalf, we are not comfortable with your selling practices. No reason or explanations. No advice on what is wrong and if it could be fixed?

Well, I'm not comfortable with the fact that eBay is denied my chance at equal opportunity. Against the law. If they want to be the employer of a company, they should do the protocol and address sellers as employees. This is my career and I begged their contact person to let me know what I did wrong, what they don't want me to do. Let me correct any issues that they may have with my performance. Remove items not to their liking and offer to pay a fine for any action that is not up to standards. The bottom line is human civil rights are not being addressed as our laws have been written. This is The United States of America. A free country that our forefathers built. I will not tolerate discrimination. No doors will be closed for my opportunity without reason! Thank you.

Fearing that I might be stuck with shipping charges back to Hong Kong, I refused the package when it arrived and said to send it back to the seller. After filing a claim, having it denied, appealing the decision, and having it denied again, I spoke to the appeals department twice and again I was told I wouldn't be getting my money back. I pointed out that the seller had broken their listing policy by indicating the item was in CA when in fact it was in Hong Kong.

I also explained that I could find nothing in their Rules for Buyers, Refunds, or their Money Back Guarantee that states that I would void the money back guarantee if I refused delivery, and even the person I spoke with in the appeals dept couldn't find anything on their website. But he told me that even though it wasn't stated that I couldn't send it back that way, I still had broken the rules. I pointed out that the seller broke the listing policy first by misrepresenting the item location, but this representative told me that policy really only applies if the item has to be sent back! So beware, those of you who continue to buy on ebay, because if it is important to you to buy a product in the US, it could come from anywhere, and ebay will not enforce its item location misrepresentation policy. Found out the different sellers were all one main source... Finally get that taken care of. Then I order a recliner cover. It says delivered. Only trouble is it wasn't here. Contact seller as UPS says to. They say it was delivered... Case closed! I call ebay, I get the ebay runaround. This is $29.00 that we can NOT afford to lose. What now... UPS says seller has to be the one to start a track to locate the item and what happened to it. Case closed... We are just out the money? We have a few items ordered yet to receive. When they arrive, we are done with ebay. In the meantime, what about this? Thank you.

I have been an active buyer on eBay for the last two years, and a seller since last October. I have glowing feedback, both as a buyer and a seller - not a single negative review. As Weird Al sings, "They love me on eBay!" I bought a vintage Japanese teapot with a rattan handle which was described by the seller as in perfect condition. The pictures posted with the listing show a fine item, completely intact, with an undamaged handle. When the item arrived at my home the handle was detached from the teapot and broken, missing important elements that were needed to make the handle functional. The shipping box did not contain any of these missing pieces, so I concluded that this item was already broken when the seller sent it to me.

Before contacting the seller I did a minor amount of gluing on what was left of the handle in order to create a hook, so that the handle could at least be set on the teapot, even though it could never be relied upon to bear any weight. Then I contacted the seller, politely explained the issue and said I'd wait until the seller got back to me before leaving feedback. Oh, My Goodness! Then began the accusations: attempted feedback extortion, inconsistency in describing the issue, belligerence and threatening behavior (because I typed a couple of sentences in caps, for emphasis). According to the seller, my fatal mistake was in applying a little glue to the remains of the handle before contacting her. That voided the postal service's ability to offer me a refund, and at that point there was nothing the seller could do to make things right for me. The seller continued to claim that the item had been in great shape when she sent it to me.

So, I opened a case in the eBay resolution center, requested a partial refund, posted a number of pictures showing the poor, pitiful remains of the rattan handle and spoke to an eBay rep who expressed dismay at the seller's unreasonableness and assured me that eBay would render a judgment I'd be happy with. Well, eBay ruled against me. No explanation, just the message that the judgment had gone in favor of the seller. I left negative feedback for the seller, but this morning she sent me a gloating message in which she told me that my feedback had been removed from her site. As I told the eBay rep who had been so sympathetic - this is not a matter of a huge outlay of money, but it outrages my sense of fairness and justice. I feel that the eBay resolution people should at least have the courtesy to explain why their decision went as it did.

Finally I was told that the balance is for items I sold and not for store subscription. It doesn't make sense because I am sure ebay doesn't charge $67 fees for $5.50 in sales. Then I was told I will get breakdown of charges in next month email. Next month's bill arrives without a breakdown. My question is still unanswered. What a rip off. I sent the item and he opened a case against me stating he didn't get the item. eBay refunded his money after 2 months, then 2 days later the tracking showed that he received the item. Because I didn't pay for signature confirmation they sided with the buyer. Received email from eBay stating my account was below standard policies from a few buyers' opening claims. The claims were people getting items and opened claim a month later saying they sent item back and never was refunded. Even though I never had an email from buyer! Another one was a buyer bought item two days before New Year's Day, and wasn't there in two days, and filed case as item not received before he was leaving town. The main one they mentioned, a buyer bought item, I explained in detail of item, and they said a problem was a pair of jeans didn't fit. I tried to work out situation if they were a different size or if too small, etc before offering return. Only item I decided to question before automatically refunding. They were very hard to deal with also.

My seller account was restricted permanently without warning, probation or anything. All items listed were removed. Not even a limit! I pay ebay between $100-$200 month in fees and rating over 1250 with several times a monthly power seller status. Never any compassion for seller's disputes with all the fraud some buyers attempt!

I have been a long time eBay buyer and seller for a few months. I have done everything in my power to achieve 100% feedback from my consumers. I have had two incidents where eBay has ruled in favor of the buyer. The first being the arrival of a lamp shipped by UPS to the buyer in pieces. Now tell me how do I have control over how a shipper handles packages? I argued it was packed well and provided pictures and other documentation and eBay still ruled in favor of the buyer. What I read later eBay 99% of the time rules in favor of the buyer. Then I had to deal with UPS because the package was insured and they refused to pay. I discovered later they never, I mean never pay the consumer who uses their service.

The second incident with eBay, a buyer purchased a pair of ray ban sunglasses and then wanted his money back because they fit him small. I explained to the buyer my listing indicated "no returns" and also listed the measurements. About a week and a half later, he filed a case without contacting me. eBay immediately put a hold on my account and asked that I contact the buyer to resolve the situation. I contacted the buyer right away by email to attempt to resolve the situation by explaining the listing stated no returns and the size of the glasses was written in the listing. Well I received several disparaging responses from the buyer claiming the sunglasses were counterfeit and I was a dishonest seller. I finally had to tell him to stop because he was bordering on harassment.

He even posted negative feedback stating I was dishonest and sold him fake sunglasses. I did manage to get eBay to remove the negative feedback. All of these emails were seen by eBay but it didn't seem to matter. I was counseled by eBay reps all along on what to do so the case would be ruled in my favor. Boy was that baloney. I sent the buyer an email agreeing to refund his money if he returned the glasses in the same shape he received them and provide me with the tracking number. He never provided the tracking number. I finally received the glasses back and they were scratched, one of the arms were broken, and the case had gauges in it. I contacted eBay, hoping to get support and instead was told, "That's the cost of doing business so I am ruling in favor of the buyer and will force the refund." That's how eBay supports the sellers. I am livid. I am pulling all of my items and will never use eBay again.

I have striven to have 100% feedback since starting to sell on eBay 9 months ago, and have succeeded. I have sold close to 200 items and I'm still at 100%. But I woke up a week ago to find that eBay had put me on a type of probation where I can still sell things but my funds are held till the item is received and the buyer leaves feedback. This is also done when you first start selling on eBay to make sure you are going to do what needs to be done, but once you are selling for 90 days, this is lifted.

After 3 hours on the phone I found out that feedback means nothing to eBay; they strictly go by their star ratings. Even though I am at 100% feedback, I have had 3 complaints in 9 months that shipping is too high. Now eBay decides the shipping rate. I simply put in how much the item weighs and the dimensions of the item and shipping is calculated for me. Now you ask how can I get in trouble for something I have NO control over? Good question. Who knows, but I am here to tell everyone... Do NOT focus on your feedback, eBay no longer cares... Beg your customers for 5 stars because that is what eBay looks at.

This was the only claim that we refused to refund and EBAY went ahead and paid the buyer and gave us negative ratings for this. Had we known that this was going to have our account suspended, we would have refunded this customer and just took a loss in order to settle it. We also have over a 97% positive feedback rating but with their system being so unfairly ranked, we were still told we were not allowed to sell anymore on EBAY and had our account suspended. I removed a few listings that weren't selling because I found the receipts and could return them to department stores without losing money, which would have happened if they actually did sell on eBay. I immediately received pop-ups threatening to charge me money if I removed too many listings. I've listed unused parts of items that people may need and have had my listings pulled and accused of promoting illegal activity. WTF?

I've had many numerous other problems with sellers and buyers. Deadbeat non-paying buyers that don't experience any recourse for their actions while eBay holds my money and keeps my items captive until the case closes. Sellers that describe items as new or almost new, and when I receive the item the garbage can is too good for it. Open cases by the dozens in just 3 months. I removed all of my listings just hoping that they dare to charge me for doing it. I also logged into PayPal and removed the ability for eBay to auto charge me. Once all of my en-route items I've bought and sold are delivered (should only be a few more days) and the buyers are happy I'm removing my credit card information from eBay.

I'm refusing to pay my current invoice balance and I hope they suspend my account for all eternity. I'll need the funds to pay my medical expenses incurred from direct and systematic abuse from eBay's automated software program. Being in modern times I am choosing to no longer participate in the modern eBay holocaust. Thank God we have a choice. I'm hoping for a mass Exodus. There are better venues, much better, for selling and buying. You may not get the quick turn around that you do with eBay. However, if you are not in a hurry to sell something and eBay isn't the way you make your living you may want to try Amazon, Bonanza, Etsy, etc.

Any low volume seller (less than 400 sales a month) will have their account be "judged" by their selling practices for the previous 12 months. During this 12 month period, the seller was following different rules, guidelines and standards and selling according to those OLD or previous rules. It's that simple. For eBay to rate sellers on new standards for a time period when they were following old standards is ILLEGAL. Why are they allowed to get away with this?

The second time, same excuse for suspending it. I provided information, but when I went to eBAY to look at my account and if anything about it was different, I find someone named Muhammed in Indonesia was now my main shipping address. The eBay rep assured me he couldn't see anything of mine. If that's the case, how in the world did he have similar financial information? Nevertheless, their first recommendation, once they realized that having a primary shipping address in Indonesia didn't make any sense, was to change all my passwords. Really? The rep just assured me that nothing had happened, but now I'm supposed to change all my passwords? My store was building up slowly but surely. Over 2 years later I made it finally to top rated seller whatever the hell that means. I thought it really meant something, but it's a joke. Since about start of May, 2014, ebay changed forever. They started advertising outside retailers store's items via opening a free store front, with no items for sale but a bunch of "collections" boxes on the front page with dozens of different seller names, all leading to the same retailer. Ok, fine and dandy, however, ebay took an even bolder step, due to the fees they charge these companies, ebay had to show some kind of return on the investment of those retailers ads, so ebay started advertising their product in already existing ebay seller's account. Even under the actual item for sale. Their ads were bigger than my whole listing of the item. Then they were in the front of the store, they just kind of took over my store like the black plague. Taking the few customers that I had, luring them away with their huge inviting pictures.

It took me a while to catch on what is going on and I demanded to remove those ads from my store. There was not even an announcement, nor did they alert me that they were going to ruin my life and take advantage of me. I tried to talk in the community and they banned me. No, they didn't want others to figure out what I figured out. It took me a while. I started to check my stats and noticed my account was moving very very very slowly and blocked during peek purchase time of the day. In addition, it showed duration of stay in my store: 3-5 seconds. Wow, WTH is going on. I called, wrote emails, called, wrote emails again, complained, tried to get their attention that what they were doing was so underhanded and just plain evil. They got sick of my complaining, so since then I have no traffic at all. Nothing. However, if you look at my front page of the store it says 3, 326 visitors, what? Before all this started happening there was about 600 and some visitors. So, I knew these were not customers, but curiosity people wanting to know, who is this nut lady causing all this trouble.

I did a little research and found out that one of those retailers that paid for advertising on ebay is one of the biggest retailers on the planet, and has many different store names. I wrote a letter to the CEO of that company as well. I'm sure word got back to ebay, and now I was on the !@#$ list for sure. I'm thinking, this huge multi gazzilion dollar company has to take my few customers? For real? Have they no heart? Why? So, I then also found out, one of those stores were not even aware that their ads were being placed in ebay seller's stores. She was a nice lady and apologized. I'm sure ebay got wind of that too, and by now wished I'd just disappear. I told ebay, this store is my last resort to help financially for my family. I've gone through a lot of physical, and emotional hardship dealing with breast cancer, than on top of that, colon cancer. I still went back to work, but I got sicker and fired. Having an Ebay store, I thought would help me make some income.

Actually, things were going fine, and I was moving on up, then all of a sudden it just fell into a black hole never to return. On top of being sick, this made me even sicker and mad, so mad and fought a good battle which I knew I was going to lose anyway, but I was not leaving until I made my point clear. Right now, the store is still there, no sales, no emails, no watchers, I have no idea why they didn't just tell me they're shutting me down? Instead they're torturing me, to convince me that it's something that I'm not doing right as a seller. So, when they do kick me out, they'll have a good excuse.

Then I see Goodwill shouting with joy they're joining ebay to sell their stuff. I was stunned. Goodwill gets free stuff, is non profit, pay no taxes, employees at their stores get less than minimum wage, and ceo and his crew make over $100,000.00, that figure being the lowest. And what happened to their "motto" WE CREATE JOBS. How are they creating jobs, selling on ebay? Unless they're hiring people to run the store online? But I didn't hear anything about that, and the jobs at their stores, will definitely need less employees. You see how much good will they have? So kind and concerned? At this point, I'm giving it another week, because one lady I spoke to promised some kind of answer. Then, I will just forget this nightmare and move on. Unbelievable.

eBay Hong Kong stinks. I had to open an account in Hong Kong because I live there. In the beginning, they had an English beta version that never worked. I could choose whether I wanted to get responded in English so I choose but till the day of today, they send me stuff standard things what I don't understand. Ok that was problem one.

Second, because I sell things that have to shipped by surface that take a while to reach customers in USA and other parts of the world. Got a few disputes for that and negative feedback ok but the items arrived. So got in conversation with eBay Hong Kong that the items are arrived but got negative feedback, can you remove it because the negative feedback were based on item not arrived. The answer is you have to solve with the customer. Ok so get in touch with the customer, customer said "can not change it because eBay not allows me to." Back to eBay HK, "sorry we can not do anything about it, this is between you and the customer."

Then they gave me a hint to specify in my item description that it will take a while to reach the customer. Ok so I did and then what happens! eBay put an estimated arrival time on their website. What totally not the same calculation has as the reality their estimated arrival time is based on air postage. More confusion for the customer more disputes for me and eBay is very quick in refunding to the customer and a few cases just lost the sold item and shipping fee just because of eBay. And when you call them, the only answer I get is you have to contact the customer. I said "eBay is the one who refunded it so then it will be your job to reverse it." They said they can't.

Now they have another policy and that is that I can only put for listing a specified amount or up to ??? Items. Which ever comes first. I have an item and that is one of a kind. That item, it's value is over 20.000 USD but because I put that item before the policy, I can not list anything at the moment so I called them and asked if they were the one who is judging the price. The answer I get from them is "then you don't list that item." I said it is one of a kind and I am proud to list it and I also want to sell it. I pay store fees, listing fees, selling fees. I said "You guys from eBay HK got a job because of people like us are proud to sell their stuff. But the service we get from you in Hong Kong is way below average."

Reimbursement: They are really ** up, they screw up their admin and don't want to admit. I have 3 reimbursement way back in 2012 and they were all paid by Paypal, actually it is not paid by Paypal, it is taken from eBay at Paypal. So I contacted Paypal, they said they had the right. I said the buyer received the item so where does eBay get the right to refund to the customer and get the money from my Paypal account? "Sorry this is a matter between you and eBay. You have to contact ebay."

So I did, they said that I have clicked on it that if there is a reimbursement, they can deduct from my account. Even from my credit card account. I said I never gave eBay the opportunity to do that. They said "yes you did." Ok never mind. Now i want my money back because item arrived just a day after the reimbursement. Same old story, you have to contact the customer. Now in 2014, they gave me restrictions on my account because of the reimbursement. They said after I paid eBay, they will cancel the restrictions. I mailed them many times that the reimbursement is paid, also got proof that it is paid but the only thing they can do is ignore my mails and remind me to pay the reimbursement.

When I started with eBay, my hair was brown black, now my hair is black and most of them grey till white. I am really hoping that eBay Hong Kong get off the net. And those people who worked or now still working won't find a job anywhere. They not worth to do deal with customers. eBay USA, if you read this, don't let your name get disgraced by eBay Hong Kong because I know you guys are willing but the rotten eggs you have to get rid off. If there is a Lawyer who read this and think he can get something out of it, be my guest. Contact me ** I just want 20%.

I ordered an item for which the seller claimed he had to charge sales tax and leads people to believe he carries a large inventory. When I received the item with a gift receipt from Amazon I became suspicious and asked if he had a business license. He said yes so I asked for proof as I know you cannot charge sales tax for a state you don't live in or run a business in. He couldn't prove it, just gave excuses. I reported it to Ebay. I opened up a case, supplying documentation. Without notifying me they closed the case. I appealed it because my item was also defective. They said seller would refund. They sent me a return label stating to return item and I would be refunded with in 3 days. I returned the item but still have not been refunded. When I called I am now being told I will only be refunded if the seller wants to refund and he refuses. He has the item and my $53 also.

Ebay denied my appeal yet never bothered to contact me on it. I found out when I wanted to contact them again for getting no refund. They claim they reply within 24-48 hrs but don't reply at all. They know this seller is committing a crime by charging & pocketing sales tax he collects yet still allow him to remain a seller. Over 6 yrs he has scammed over 7,000 people - that's a lot of money. Now since they refuse to remove him as a seller, his ego has been apparently enlarged as I noticed he has added more states to his illegal Sales tax charging. 21 states now. I have called many of these States who tell me he is NOT authorized to collect sales tax for them, he has no business in their States. The one State he does live in Utah is one State if he had a business license which he does not he would have to charge sales tax for and One State he does not list. Ebay needs to be brought to Justice and so does this seller.

He then waited 4 days to issue refund by e-check. e-Bay then w/o my permission closed the claim. Yes, the e-Check bounced 2 times over a week and a half so PayPal cancelled the refund. Now e-Bay won't have to pay buyer protection as they closed the claim and it can't be reopened. Sweet! I see a pattern of allowing fraud to occurs here if not aiding in its Commission .

At the end of the day I'm out $477.00 + $28.00 return shipping, the seller gained $450.00 and is still selling and ready to scam the next person with this defective item. I on the other hand closed both PayPal & E-Bay accounts before they could steal more. This is very similar to a Rolex I bought a while back that claimed it ran perfect yet gained 20 min. Per hour. It took 60 days to get refunded on this site. There must be a book these people are reading on how to work with E-Bay to get free loans of other people's money!

I buy and sell on eBay. I try to be very fair when shipping items (I weigh out multiple purchases and state a price that includes the actual shipping charge, my fees on that charge, and the price of my packaging materials, if any). I recently bought 11 items from the same buyer. One would think that since all of these items could fit into a medium flat rate box from USPS, I would have been charged close to that amount. Instead, I have been charged $23.00. It is ridiculous for eBay sellers to "make money on shipping fees."

I will be interested to see how these items are shipping. If they come in a flat rate box, this seller will receive neutral feedback. A NOTE TO ALL SELLERS: BE FAIR WITH SHIPPING PRICES. Charge what you want to for the item, but don't stick it to the customer on shipping that anyone with half a brain would know is unrealistic. Rest assured, this will be my last purchase from this seller!

After opening a case immediately after the buyer made it clear they weren't going to pay and having Ebay "rule in my favor", I was still charged a "final value fee"! I was never supposed to be charged for the "final value fee" in the first place for obvious reasons! Ebay still charged my account, causing me to go overdraft, and when I brought it to the attention of their mostly rude and near useless "customer support" (which is full of representatives who have heavy non-American sounding accents that simply repeat themselves over and over and never address your issue), they said that I "voluntarily made the payment"!!!

Do they really think that they're going to convince anyone that?? Why in the world would I "voluntarily" pay a disgustingly big, corrupt corporation anything when A) I knew I didn't have the money in the first place, AND, B) I didn't owe them!? After spending hours (yes, hours, I'm not exaggerating) on the phone with their "customer support" explaining my issue to them, it got me nowhere but frustrated of course! Why are they legally allowed to unjustifiably take money from someone without consequences? That is stealing! Someone better step in and do something to these thieves! What better time than now?! Enough is enough! Something needs to give!

Ebay then decides to put a permanent restriction on my account. I have proof of receipt from Footaction; an authorized dealer of authentic shoes. I have even taken a picture of me purchasing the shoes from Footaction. Apparently ebay does not care. They have totally removed my Jordans out of my ebay store and kept the Nike shoes in the store and I have proof on my receipt that I got from Footaction that they were purchased. In addition, I paid with my Paypal debit card. Both the Footaction and the Paypal debit card dollar amounts are the same. I attempted to provide ebay proof but they just don't care... I bought 2 camshaft/crankshaft sensors for a Nissan Altima from an eBay store and seller, Transglobal Auto in Saint Paul, MN. They said NEW, OEM and arrived in plain plastic bags. I questioned the seller about these being OEM. They said they were. I installed them and they failed 1000 miles from my house. It cost $387 to get the car towed and fixed, plus the $60 I paid Transglobal for the bad parts. I called and ask for a refund but they offered me another junk part. I filed with eBay but since the parts were installed, they refused "buyer protection". Who buys parts and looks at them?

I then listed the parts for sale on eBay as a warning for others about Transglobal. They had two other bad reviews for the same parts with repairs totaling over $1000. I brought this to eBay's attention, but this seller keeps getting to sell these parts to unsuspecting buyers. Maybe their 12000 sales means more to eBay than 3 of us out over $1400. I had my listing up for about 3 weeks when the seller found it and eBay removed it since they complained about me posting the bad feedback about this seller. Money talks at eBay and those of us who pay for parts thinking they are the real deal, get screwed and the BIG sellers, they get to keep on selling crap parts because eBay is making money every time they sell a part and we buy part.

Called eBay, waited 25 min for someone to answer phone, asked what is average waiting time, and was told its up to 10 min. Bear in mind I was waiting 25 min, described my issue. Customer adviser wasn't speaking proper English and I couldn't understood what she saying. I have asked to transfer me to someone who could speak better. She did.

Waited another 30 min. Adviser answered and again couldn't speak proper English. I asked once more to put me with English-speaking person. She suggested me to call back on same number. I refused as I have waited 50 min already. She put me on hold again, and after 60 min of waiting on phone calling from abroad, I was cut off. Called again, waited 10 min. Customer adviser answered phone. Once more explained same issue. He assured that comment is abusive and they will remove the feedback, told me that he will transfer me to someone else to have it removed.

Waited another 15 min, got connected to someone who didn't know nothing about issue. Explained once more, and she told me that i was given wrong information and they can't do nothing about it. Whole conversation took another 20 min. Asked to put me with superior customer service, waited 10min. Told they are busy on the line. I insisted to stay on line to be connected. Waited another 15 min, total call duration 60 min, my call got cut off. I have all call reference numbers, all names and phone conversation recording to prove fact that we as sellers are abused and robbed of our money through fees, and customer support is non-existing. My account was suspended because according to eBay I opened too many cases for items not received. Even though I contacted the sellers thru eBay messages, no responses were received and no items were shipped from sellers. Waited about a week after the expected delivery dates before opening any claims if seller didn't respond, since eBay only gives a 45-day period to open a case. Ebay buying practices policy read as follows: "If your item hasn't arrived or isn't as described, contact the seller by OPENING A CASE in the Resolution Center with 30 days of your actual or latest estimated delivery date."

So, why is my account suspended because of opening a case when eBay encourages buyers to do so? According to eBay, my buyer protection was removed from my account since it was suspended and all opened claims were closed and decided in favor of the sellers that never shipped the items and no refunds were issued. Ebay advertisement is misleading making buyers to believe they are protected when it comes to getting a refund for something they don't receive. I contacted eBay about this matter but they didn't care and no help was offered. They said the decision was final! I hope there will be a class action against eBay for false advertising and own policy violation.

I listed my item on April 23rd and it sold on May 12th. It all appeared to be pretty cut-and-dry and I was excited that I would receive a $25 coupon. I contacted customer service about two weeks later and the rep confirmed that the coupon would be issued. After another two weeks passed and still no coupon, I contacted ebay again only to be given the run-around by them where finally after an hour of being on the phone, a supervisor finally came on and told me that I had to sell the item within 15 days after it listed (mine sold 19 days later). She told me my sale didn't comply with their terms and conditions and that I would not receive the $25 coupon. I told her what the first CS rep had told me (that I would be issued the coupon) but the supervisor said that CS rep was wrong.

I argued that the email message was misleading and that ebay should honor what they send out to people. She would not budge. So, I learned that this is the way ebay treats their new customers. They suck you in by a misleading email offer to get your business and then don't honor the offer in the end. Shame on you e-bay! Better get some business ethics. You lost my business from now on.

Then we recalled and was told to transfer to "Selling Dept.". But the person who answered the phone with greeting of "Customer Service". Very questionable about whom we really spoke to.

We explained the situation. They found the invoice with same payment as we received, but showing no item purchased by buyer. We told them if buyer did not place order, then how the invoice was generated in your eBay system. The Customer Service, Karen, said "She does not know." She told us to contact Authorize.Net to void the payment. They seemed have no clue about what issue was.

We told them our concern was if there was transaction, and we did not ship. Buyer would be unsatisfied with our service. We asked them if they would be able to contact the buyer to verify the transaction. But they said they could not do any further. We doubted there would be tech. problems of their system because the invoice was generated with no purchase record by buyer. However, the Customer Service insisted there were no such problem. We knew recently their system was just hacked. They should have been more aware of any other problems possibly being associated.

We were really upset about their services. Being a big business, they cannot stay behind their clients and cannot be more careful for any susceptible issue. Just bring this issue up to share with other eBay's sellers. If you have same problem, then good luck to you and be patient. You will spend more than one hour to get no help.

This has happened to me more times than I can count, and it's extremely frustrating. I used to be a seller, but no more. Today, I get a message in my Ebay inbox telling me that a case was decided in a buyer's favor. But this case absolutely angered me, because after the case was opened, I responded with the buyer. I asked the buyer what I could do to make it right, and why the transaction didn't go smoothly for them. After several back and forth conversation, the buyer actually admitted that he had received the item, it was exactly as described, and he just didn't want it.

Ebay claims folks then took an additional 8 days to close the case after I pointed out to them that this email had been sent to me by the buyer admitting he'd made a false claim! And Ebay claim personnel still sided with the buyer!!!! I know that you have to agree to EBay's terms and conditions to join, but with a good lawyer, there are ALWAYS ways around the terms and conditions. I cannot wait for a class action lawsuit, which I will absolutely participate in, to SMASH Ebay. I just wanted to rant, but I COULD NOT believe that after the buyer's obvious admission of a false claim against me, which I immediately brought to the attention of the claim's personnel, he still won the case! It is just plain unbelievable! $175 down the drain, and a perfectly good item.

Recent "Seller Performance Standards" implemented by eBay are Arbitrary and Draconian. eBay now requires Sellers to maintain a 99% rating for all transactions in 4 specific areas, one being "item as described" ratings (a 1- to 5-star scale being utilized). I hold a 98.9% positive feedback rating on all transactions (373 total), with 4 of 373 buyers rating me below 3-stars. Based on this, eBay has imposed selling restrictions and limitations, and now holds fund for all sales for 21 days before allowing access to them. eBay's recent "Seller Performance Standards" assume that 99% of all buyers are "honest," and of course this is not the case. eBay makes no exceptions and has no recourse for me as a consumer, to contest or challenge this amendment.

I have invested over $10,000 in merchandise to sell in my eBay store, which provides a large portion of income utilized to provide for my family. eBay's recent adoption/changes to "Seller Performance Standards" are very Arbitrary (illogical) and are almost impossible for myself and I'm sure many other "smaller" eBay Sellers to meet. Implementing standards that require 99% or greater buyer/customer satisfaction is absurd and will cause undue and unnecessary burden on myself as a Seller and provider to my family, as well as directly impact the financial stability and well-being of myself and my family. I'm sure these changes will affect a great many Sellers and the families that they work hard to support.

I have been selling on ebay since 2005. I have always had Great feedback until the past year anyway. I recently sold an item to a customer that lives in Italy. He paid for his order and I shipped out his item, but did not mark it shipped right away because it was an item that fit in an envelope and shipped with a international stamp. 6 days after he placed order, he left me negative feedback saying he never received his item...really 6 days. First class mail international to Italy gonna take a little longer than that. We went back and forth with messages to each other about conduct and being reasonable with ship times etc. That is one of a very small amount of issues that I have had selling on ebay.

Yesterday I get an email that my ebay acct. is restricted indefinitely....I can no longer sell on ebay because some of my ratings are below ebay's standards. I called and spoke to a customer service rep in the so called high department for them to explain what this all means. He said I had 4 out of 81 US sales in the past year that had defects in my ratings. It did not matter what I said to justify anything, they had already decided that I can no longer sell on ebay. As a matter of fact, nobody in my house can because they think it's me with another acct. Oh yea, I forgot to mention they said I can still buy on ebay. Woohoo I said no I don't think I will be doing any business on ebay at all. It is not fair for such a small amount of issues that were really not issues to begin with. I do not know how ebay stays in business. I really do not.

I have sold over 1000 items in the past year and have only received feedback from around 250 buyers. Of this group, 5 rated "item as described" as less than 4 stars and 3 opened cases for receiving wrong item, which were quickly corrected at much expense. Another 2 returned items because they did not want them and two more opened cases for item not received, although in both cases the items were shipped during the holiday season via USPS Priority and were received late. I have not received a neutral or negative feedback during any of this time. Yet, eBay has me marked as Below Standard, limiting me to 25 listings per month, based on 5% of 25% of all transactions.

Sellers get heavily penalized by the tiny percent of buyers who decide they don't like something of the small percent who give feedback at all, yet buyers are not required to give feedback or required to wait a sufficient period of time before opening a case for Item Not Received or restricted when they don't pay for items. eBay takes 10% of the final value fees, which are unacceptable if one's profit margins are less than 25% on an item. If every seller on eBay was as conscientious, reliable and transparent as I am, eBay would dominate Amazon. But as long as eBay treats sellers like aberrant children, the site will continue to lose the middle tier of sellers until it only appeals to bottom feeders and collectors.

We constantly have buyers filing claims and eBay always gives them refunds. These buyers wait a month or two, decide they don't want the item, or shouldn't have spent the money, then they'll say the item is not as described and eBay refunds the money. This is a huge scam and buyers know that ebay will always be in their favor. We've recently been kicked off eBay and over 200 items we had listed, was taken off! This is our main source of income. In the past 12 months, we only had 2 negative comments and one is not even legitimate because eBay found the dispute in our favor. We were told that we're not keeping up with eBay standards. It doesn't make sense, we constantly complain to eBay and tell them about the scams people are pulling, but they say there's nothing we can do about it. They need to be stopped.

We just had a guy send an item back that he purchased over a month and a half ago, eBay just took $129 out of my bank account and refunded him... causing me an overdraft! We sold an auto diagnostic device, the buyer used it then sent it back saying it was used and he got his refund. That unit was brand new when we sent it to him, unopened. Ebay's cost us a lot of money!

They are legitimate coupons that are described as a coupon in the title and in the description clearly in large print. I have called and emailed ebay numerous times to get the feedback removed and they are telling me it's non removable because it's not on their list of derogatory words. I have asked to talk to supervisors and they are never available so basically they are ignoring me. I waited over 45 minutes to get nowhere on the last call.

I was recently looking to purchase several lots of DMC floss. I contacted a seller thru EBAY and asked that if the items didn't sell within the few hours remaining for bids, if the seller would combine the packages shown online so I would get a larger color selection with less duplicates. I did get a response from the seller advising that if they didn't sell, that this could be done. Once the auction ended, I got an email asking how I would the packages combined and how many of the packages I would like. I responded promptly and waited several days for a response from the seller. I sent the seller another email after there was no response for a few days and asked if my previous email was received and was told yes it had been, but that the item would not be available - the seller was moving. What would moving have to do with selling an item? Didn't the seller realize that they were moving when they responded to my email? Again, I ask, what does moving have to do with selling an item?

I called EBAY Customer Service and while that were able to verify the email chain verifying what communication we had, they said that they could do an investigation and I would probably not get a response, but it would possibly be looked into. Why possibly be looked into, it SHOULD be looked into as this seller is using EBAY!! How do I know if EBAY can or would look into this matter? I FEEL THAT I WAS CHEATED BY THE SELLER AND EBAY for false representation in the willingness to sell something that I was told could and would be done. Furthermore, if I would have known that this would have been the outcome by the seller, I would have bid on numerous other packages that were being auctioned. I think what really happened is that the seller probably realized that the amount that the product was listed was too low and they would try to re-list the item, but if that were the case, why were there NO BIDS on any of the listings. Shame on EBAY and the seller of these items. If I could post the name of the seller, I would, but I know that this website would blank out the name.

I can sympathize totally with you predicament. As far as eBay rules and policy are concerned, there really isn't any hard fast rules or policy. You can absolutely throw out logic, common sense and justice when dealing with the eBay. Since they own the selling platform, they can do whatever they like to do on any particular day. I found this out when I was banned from selling in entertainment memorabilia because of jerseys which eBay deemed to be counterfeit (of course they were purchased in a reputable sporting good store and had all original licensing and tags as well as purchase receipts. I even gave them one of the jerseys to examine. All irrelevant when dealing with eBay).

Most of the first-line reps are non-American born with very little empathy and have basically pre-programmed responses. Arguing with them simply gets you nowhere. Occasionally you'll get someone who was actually born in this country and can sympathize with your situation although there is very little they can do to resolve your situation. I have also found that inconsistency is the standard when dealing with many departments in eBay. I can only formulate that they have become so large that most of the executives involved in founding eBay have simply lost touch with the little people like you and I.

Basically when you're calling eBay, you're dealing with a human automated response system. You might as well be talking to a computer. Even after many appeals sent on my behalf by eBay reps, I am still unable to sell in that category. I still contact up in time to time to see if they will change the decision. It has still been an irrevocable NO. However on my last conversation with them I did speak with a representative who was actually somewhat helpful & once again I am hopeful that this appeal will work. Try asking to be transferred to Erick in the restrictions department. He was the best rep I've spoken to this far. Good luck.

I have been selling on ebay for the past 12 years. I have over 2,000 feedback in prior years - I was 100% most of the time. This year has been tough: one negative for a lady that demanded free shipping after she paid and 3 neg from guy who bought my child's comics and said they were too worn, not as described as I provided photos, detailed description and told the buyer they were read by children so expect wear and tear -still left me 3 neg...Then ebay decides they are imposing this 5 star seller rating garbage and because 5 people in one year left less than 5 stars in my item description box area, they put me on probation and now they are holding my funds in paypal.

I have never had ebay have to pay out of pocket for anything I ever sold. I have always refunded unhappy customers, and I have good feedback from all other transactions. I feel that the probationary privilege to sell on ebay is demeaning and offensive. Holding my funds ties my hands to successfully run a business and limits my freedom to refund my customers on overpaid shipping or if I want to purchase anything for myself, and because my bank account is linked to pay pal, guess what, the shipping came out of my personal banking. NOT HAPPY.

I don't like having to earn points for good seller ratings and being reevaluated every month. Then they raised the auction price to 30 cents and said that I needed to get a store for 15.95 a month knowing damn well that I don't sell 250.00 a month in ebay sales so that would put me at the below seller standards also and allow them to limit my store from 150 listings for 15.95 to 80 listings. Gee let's do the math - by imposing unfair and unjust policy probation crap they are making more money per listing and come to find out ebay charges me .9% on shipping so I have to mark up the shipping enough to cover the .9% they are charging me to ship the customers item. Hmmmm pay pal gets their share, then ebay gets their fees - listing fee final fee and 9% shipping and what am left with -not a freaking thing - a bad time !!! A bunch of aggravation!!! So ebay can kiss my ass. I will never sell another thing on their site again ......I CAN SELL ON FACEBOOK, YARD SALE, LOCALLY FOR FREE AND NOT HAVE TO PAY FEES OR BE ON PROBATION!!

eBay and their customer support continues to treat sellers like criminals. The system is open for exploitation and abuse by both buyers and malicious sellers/competitors that want to sabotage your business. The biggest scam on eBay is "item not received" - The buyer contacts you asking for a tracking number when they know for a fact the item was sent by standard mail. They then open a case and without fail due to lack of evidence you buy one you get one free or you buy one you get it free.

Customer Support says - You should send all items recorded, without a tracking number there is nothing we can do. They fail to understand the highly increased delivery costs Royal Mail charges to send such low price items recorded delivery, sometimes its more than the item value. Royal Mail never pays any compensation so sellers are always left out of pocket.

If an item is sent recorded without the fraudulent buyers knowledge, they usually damage the item or claim it wasn't as described to obtain a full refund. It's a win win for the buyer. I had one case where I sent an item recorded delivery and the buyer opened a case claiming they did not receive the item. Royal Mail attempted delivery on three occasions and they refused to sign for it. eBay issued a full refund and surprise, surprise, the buyer collects the item from the post office and they have yet another freebie.

Yet another customer recently claimed the item wasn't as described. I asked them to send it back for a refund. They never sent it back and claimed they threw the proof of postage in the bin. eBay issues a refund, case closed in the buyer's favor. Any appeal is denied and you guessed it another freebie. In the meantime, I have a malicious competitor on eBay purchasing items and leaving negative feedbacks, low detailed seller ratings, opening cases. My listings have been penalized through no fault of my own. My sales have dropped to zero.

Thank you eBay for helping your loyal sellers who pay hundreds in fees every month. I hope the Mr. John Donahoe who still fails to respond to several of my emails is sued for every last penny he has. Maybe he will know how it feels to actually work to make some money and not just sit on his millionaire's yacht sipping crystal whilst sellers bend over backwards to keep their detailed seller ratings high. If you have encountered similar issues please sign your name and details and we can work together as sellers to get the message through to eBay that we have had enough.

But now all of a sudden eBay has suspended my account permanently for reasons unknown to me. When I tried appealing against the decision, all I've got is a reply from their Trust and Safety Team that they can't reveal the reason for the suspension due to eBay policies.

This is just plain ridiculous. Why does eBay even provide an option to appeal if they are not going to offer any information regarding the suspension? It seems eBay India only wants sellers who overprice products and pathetic services. All the products I was offering were priced significantly lower than all the current listing on eBay and yet I'm the one who gets banned. That's not all, the sellers currently selling these items have received several negative feedbacks. If you don't believe me, go and check out the complaints on their forum - community.ebay.in. Instead of taking action against all these sellers, eBay is more interested in suspending accounts. No wonder they have fallen behind in the Indian eCommerce market.

Just wanted to give a heads up to all those interested in opening a seller account on eBay, stay away. Instead go and sell your products on Amazon, Snapdeal, Shopclues who are way more professional and will do their best to help you. If you rely on eBay, you're doomed. You won't know when they'll suspend your account and you'll be left off with nothing. However, if you have an inferior product and you are willing to put a ridiculous price tag on it, eBay India will welcome you with open arms. I have been purchasing golf balls on eBay for years and didn't have any problems until April 2014. I purchased ten dozen golf balls. When the balls arrived it was obvious they were fake. I tried negotiating with the seller. My position was that I would send the golf balls to Acushnet Brand Protection to be authenticated. (Acushnet owns Titleist.) He refused and always responded with emails which questioned my knowledge of golf equipment. I escalated the case to eBay for a decision. They initially found in the seller's favor because I had cut one of the balls open to prove that it was a fake. I bought 120 golf balls, and was willing to replace the cut ball with a real ProV1. I sent the balls to Acushnet. They verified that the balls were fake.

I then appealed the decision and was granted a full refund, but I am still not happy with eBay's practices. First, between the time that I escalated the case to eBay and the time they found in the seller's favor, THREE other customers of this seller had filed negative feedback based on the fact that the balls they purchased from him were fake. I asked eBay about this. They told me that they could only look at my particular case when rendering a decision. That is not logical; they should use all the facts at hand, including the fact that I had purchased thousands of golf balls previously with no complaints.

Second, as soon as eBay reversed their ruling and found in my favor, they removed my negative feedback. (I did not file feedback until after Acushnet verified that all the balls I purchased were fake.) My feedback was truthful, accurate, and did not contain any offensive comments or profanity of any kind. This is illogical too. After all, feedback is intended to protect buyers and sellers. Why remove feedback that is based on established fact? What eBay did is ensure that the seller gets to continue selling fake golf balls. BTW, another buyer called the same seller a "scam artist" in his feedback. My feedback contained no such name-calling, only cold, hard facts. At any rate, the seller is still selling on eBay. I did my best to protect other buyers from falling victim to this seller. I would think eBay would follow suit.

eBay's 2014 Seller Update is completely unethical, and in some circumstances, unlawful. In their very efficient inept attempt to create a "good buyer experience" and keep "buyers coming back to eBay" they have created an extremely hostile environment between buyers and sellers, and also between sellers and eBay. eBay's past requirements of good sellers are being completely undermined by this new policy. Sellers have worked hard to meet and exceed eBay's requirements in the past, only to be smacked in the face and punished for doing just that. With this new policy eBay is giving false written instructions to buyers to ensure a damaging defect result to the seller. eBay is holding the seller accountable for their products after it has left their possession, i.e., if product is damaged or lost during shipping. The seller gets a defect if buyer complains through eBay. And there is much more......

eBay needs to be held accountable for their deceiving, unfair and destructive business practices toward the very people they so willingly collect very high fees from. The people who keep their site alive. eBay HAS NOTHING TO SELL. They are just a venue where people can show the items THAT THE SELLER OWNS, NOT EBAY and try to make a little profit. eBay has also turned into a venue that puts emphasis on selling cheap and fake items from China and Hong Kong. It is very apparent when I have to flip through 50-100 pages of that crap before finding something worth buying from the USA. eBay needs to realize their position. EBAY DOES NOT OWN OUR BUSINESS OR OUR ITEMS AS JOHN DONAHOE LIKES TO IMAGINE. Sorry, John. Get a grip before you completely ruin what buyers have always loved about eBay.

Buyer then proceeded admitted to attempting to flash the BIOS of the laptop which software not designed for the laptop which puts the motherboard at risk of permanent damage. He then proceeded to claim he had problems with the BIOS after this attempt.

Buyer then proceeded to extort me for 50 dollars off a 320 dollar transaction (15%). I offered 30 dollars to simply avoid the long process and attempt to keep him happy despite the buyer's remorse which Buyer declined. Buyer claimed the Windows was not genuine and I uploaded the email of the receipt of my purchase of Windows. Buyer made various claims which I proved were false.

eBay decided in his favor despite the messages. He sent back the laptop when I was out of town and now he has the laptop and the refunded money. On top of this, eBay charged seller's fee for this non-transaction and refuses to get involved so that the buyer has to send the laptop. I don't try to get a refund. My experience as a seller is that even though items are as described, they get it and change their minds... want a refund. Which I give them. I sold a book for $3 that sold on Amazon for over $14. It took over $4 to ship it. The buyer had the wrong address on eBay so it went to his old address. He said I should have verified his address before sending it. And I sent it before payment. It wasn't much money....

Well he said he wouldn't pay till it got to him. EBay talked him into paying... I seem to get hassled all the time. And I truly represent what I sell as honestly as possible. A lot of buyers are nice... I have good fb but I run into so many that want something for nothing. That's why I went to Etsy and tried to sell there... wanting an honest return on my listing. But they ask for SSN and BOTH credit card and bank... They could steal my identity! I'm honest but not everybody is. I just wish there were more good buyers on eBay.

I have 10 items listed and only one bid. Maybe I am listing wrong. I asked Etsy to close my account. If my stuff doesn't sell on eBay, I'll donate it. I paid high for my stuff... I'm really losing money on eBay though... big time. Are there any other sites out there where people will buy and just an honest online community that doesn't want your SSN to start up? If no answers, I'll go back to eBay ...if no bids I'll donate and stop selling any place.

The type of scam I felt victim of was new to me at that time, obviously. The seller at the time of the transaction had only excellent feedback from approximately 70 ebayers. The items were highly specialized pieces of technical equipment, not something commonly used and desirable, so chances of meeting a scam artist are usually much lower, but not impossible.

I have not liked the Seller from the get go. He was uncooperative and stubborn. I purchased 2 items from him and asked to combine them in the same box to reduce shipping costs. This is normal practice on Ebay, yet he refused. I felt it was very unprofessional, so I delayed payment until we figure out discrepancy on shipping. He immediately filed a complaint with Ebay. I was also able to explain my position to Ebay Rep by phone. I explained that Seller does not agree to any common Ebay practice and would not allow either combined shipping or a pick up from his location which was suspicious.

Ebay was very formal, did not listen to my reasons and took Seller's side, threatening to suspend my account for non payment. I had no choice, but to pay which I did. Seller immediately provided a longer delivery date (about 2 weeks if I remember correctly) which is quite long for a domestic US delivery. Yet to my surprise, when 1 week later I checked the transactions online, the delivery date was postponed further into the future. 1 week later it was postponed yet again and so on and so forth.

When I realized something funny is going on it was too late. My call to Ebay met no sympathy. They said I waited too long and they have 30 days complaint policy. Paypal had a longer 45 days policy, but it was also over their limit by the time of my call. They (Ebay and Paypal) got out on technicality, but that technicality was created by the fraudulent Seller. The funny part is that the mentioned technicality is not in their favor. Ebay Rep confirmed to me that they count those 30 and 45 days from the delivery date, and since that date was moved few times and not passed even when I write this comment, they should be liable even by their own standards. But good luck in proving that to Ebay.

Ebay understood very well the Seller was fraudulent and has suspended the Seller for the fraud, yet they refused to compensate me, the victim. I think Ebay totally took advantage of me, understanding that I will not go to court. The amount is too small and I am too small against them, too... My advice to whoever reads this post is to be very cautious and not deal with Ebay Seller or Buyer when your gut feeling tells you so. Also, when buying through Ebay:

    - don't consider that Seller's positive feedback will stop him from running with your money
    - read Ebay's fine print on their policies
    - report all problems to Ebay customer support early

    - AND MOST IMPORTANT: Do not trade in excess of the amount you are comfortable to lose completely. DO NOT HOPE THAT EBAY WILL PROTECT YOU AND COVER YOU FOR LOSSES! Remember that Ebay will find any technicality on which they can get out of any responsibilities even if their actions are barely legal according to their own policies.

I don't know how eBay was back in the days since I only started using them about 3 years ago. I was first a buyer of several items and then I started selling items from my home that I wanted to get a bit of money back from. I only sold a few items and then it turned into over 300+ items sold. Although it may not seem that much as a seller, I can tell you that I was miserable beyond belief the entire time. Every day was "Did this item deliver?" or "What if I get negative feedback?"

Occasionally, I had buyers who purchased my WORKING electronics, claiming they don't work and asking for a refund. They ship items back to me that ARE working but in some sort of horrible condition. Might I also mention that eBay's fees are outrageous and impossible for a small seller to profit. If you're the type to have an online store and sell mass amount of cheap items for literally 5 cents from China, then you obviously won't have any problems. I know there will be people out there who say "There's always a way to profit" or "Don't sell on eBay then", but after fees, I get so little money back from the items I sell. EBay even tells you to lie to your customers about free shipping by just simply adding that cost and making your item cost a bit more.

Even with that deceptive solution, items I sell, I get HALF of what I'm supposed to. Charging fee on shipping was outrageous enough. The fees itself, about 10%, I thought was REASONABLE at first until I realized I pay for shipping AND I didn't even know PayPal also charges fees until recently. These were not the only things I had to pay for. I had to pay for the bulk supplies like printer ink, label stickers, bubble mailers, plastic mailers, cardboard boxes, etc.

Not to mention how disgusting it feels going onto your PayPal account and feeling good about the money you made, just to have eBay grab almost a third of it from you due to fees. Do you know how horrible that feels?! Also to the fact that even with a NO RETURN policy, buyers can still make any excuse to return items to you and they can even open a case against you and keep the item AND the refunded money. Of course, when this happens, you can call eBay for help and they would tell you, I kid you not: "That's the cost of doing business on eBay." So that's the kind of stuff they tell sellers... the ones who MADE eBay what it is now and PAY eBay fees monthly. Yet I don't see them telling buyers "It's the cost of buying from eBay", even though buyers are only the middle man for all the money made by eBay. Buyers get no fees on anything, at least from my knowledge.

If sellers stopped listing, there would be no buyers. Why doesn't eBay understand this? To make matters worse for me personally, a buyer purchased a somewhat expensive item from me. I prepared to ship it out two days later and out of nowhere, without saying a word, the buyer filed for a refund on Paypal. Being that I didn't even drop the item off yet, I kept the item and refunded the buyer. When I messaged him to cancel the transaction, he never replied. After days of not replying, I wanted to just move on so I requested a transaction cancellation and this guy seriously rejects it instantly. I lost a ton of FVF for NO REASON.

When I filed this to eBay, I got no reply until about a month later... I told them the situation and they basically dodged my question about getting my fees back because it's obviously been over a month so it's too late. This same buyer did this to three other sellers who he purchased from at the same time as me. I messaged each of them and they told me the buyer also did the same thing to them. After all of us reporting this buyer, this buyer is STILL allowed to keep the account.

eBay acts like they do you a favor constantly if you're a seller. I can't tell you how much I want this website to finally wake up and improve. The only thing it has that is beneficial is the high traffic. I can't wait to finally finish selling all my misc. items from my home and NEVER have to do business with eBay ever again as a seller!

It seems eBay doesn't have the resources to help mediate disputes that arise when a buyer has to shell out additional out of pocket expense on shipping. I had to pay another $4.15 at the post office (on top of the $6.95 already paid on the item). It was a second hand mobile phone. It works fine. But the advertised S&H was $6.95. The total I ended up paying was $11.10. Clearly if I had known this was going to be the case up from on the auction, I wouldn't have bid on this seller's phone.

Anyhow, I filed an eBay case AND a Paypal case and just now the cases were closed because the item was indeed delivered. I'm thinking I should've just had the package returned to sender but it was a phone and I needed a replacement. Seriously, how many of you out there are having issues with understated shipping charges? The seller I contacted refused to reimburse the extra freight. eBay even overturned the negative feedback I left him. WTF?

I've been selling on eBay since 2009 and have, over time, developed a rather loyal customer base. I don't believe in ripping off buyers since I know how hard it is to earn money these days, and my feedback has reflected that. I also ask my buyers to contact me with any problems whatsoever. For a few months, I was a Top Rated Seller. Okay. Cool. I didn't really see the perks in it. Then during my evaluation in April, I was suddenly EXTREMELY below standard. I called up eBay customer support and was told, rather rudely, that it isn't the buyer's responsibility to tell me if there is a problem. So apparently now I'm psychic? I told them that I've always kept in close contact with my buyers, because I want them to actually come away from the experience feeling good about it, and the rep told me that maybe that was my problem and that I should communicate with buyers less.

I wake up this morning to find that my account has been restricted to selling 25 items a month. Once again I call eBay and I'm bounced from one rep to the other until the last one simply hung up on me. I don't understand how this company can get away with these things. While I agree with evaluations, I believe that what they are doing is incredibly underhanded and dirty. If you call to complain about your experience with customer service, you're treated like you've just set a group of kittens on fire. I don't believe that this company will ever pay for how they treat people, buyers or sellers alike. We can't all just boycott eBay until something else comes along. I do have hope, however, that this horrible behavior comes back to bite them.

I have been selling on eBay for 5 years and I have never in these 5 years hit below standard. I have always put the customer first most times costing me money. I got pregnant this last year and due to complications with the pregnancy and then complications with having my son, I had to put longer handling times on my auctions. My family relies on my eBay income. It is the only income we have and so even while pregnant, I still had to continue to sell and while it was hard and I was not as fast with shipping ETC as I normally would be, I thought everything was going pretty smoothly considering my situation.

I put 5 business handling periods on my auctions. Most times the items would ship though within 2-3 days. Well according to eBay, 25 out of 850 buyers left me less than 5 star ratings for shipping time even though every item was shipped within the 5 days. The buyers did not pay attention to the shipping or the circumstances which I stated in each auction for the extended handling times and left me less than 5 star ratings. I have never gone below standard so I never really paid much attention to my seller dashboard, my mistake, because I did not know eBay could or would do what they did to me until my account was put on restriction and all my payments were put on hold until 3 days after the item was delivered.

I have another account so I decide to sell between the 2 accounts in hopes of having some of my funds released right away as I have a family to support so I cannot have all my money on hold for over a week. If you calculate the time the item is listed for, the 1-2 day handling period and then the 2-3 days shipping time and then an additional 3 days at least before they release the funds, that is a long time to wait for your money. However I sold over 50 high price items on that account and waited for payment for each of them. All transactions went smoothly - no issues at all that whole month.

On the other account, I was selling under same thing - no issues at all the whole month. Everything was being shipped within 1-2 business days on both accounts. Well the 20th of the month comes and they do their review. Because I did not sell as much as I normally would under my main account, it screwed me and even though I received over 50 positive feedback it did not put a dent in the percentage that needed to go down in the shipping time category for my account to be out of below standard. Well, I continue to list anyhow and continue to deal with the hold of PayPal funds.

Now yesterday out of the blue I receive a message saying all of my accounts are suspended with no reinstatement date. All of my auctions are ended on one and the other my auctions were left up but I cannot list anything anymore on eBay. I called eBay and explained my situation and what led to this place and the fact that I have been a awesome seller for over 5 years. They do not care. They told me they do not want to do business with me because 25 out of 850 people left less than 5 star ratings for shipping time, which I am not even sure is true because if you look at my DSRs, it appears shipping time has the most amount of satisfied people. All other areas for DSRs are top-rated or above standard. Just the shipping time is below standard or at least this is what they are telling me.

I do not think though they are being honest with me. I think they do not want me selling my designer products on eBay and instead of just telling me that, they are making up a reason to boot me because when I talked to an eBay rep, he pretty much told me he will not remove the suspension on my second account unless I was selling something else besides my designer items on it. EBay really is a buyer's market. They do not care about you as a seller unless you are Target, Walmart, ETC and making them millions of dollars.

I was viewing another account today where the person was selling Family Dollar curtains. They have less feedback than me so they sell way less than me and they have over 50 negative feedbacks in the last 12 months and over 30 neutral in the last 12 months and yet they are still selling. I was appalled at that. How is that person selling still with a good percentage of their customers unhappy? I really wish someone would come along with a site similar to eBay but have not only the buyers' needs in mind but also the sellers. The amount of non-payers I get is unreal. The amount of sellers who do not even ship the items they sold is unreal yet those same sellers are still selling on eBay and those same buyers still buying on eBay. I think you need to ship the items that day they sell or the very next and accept all returns. Otherwise eBay is going to boot you without warning and with a fake made up excuse.

I was informed that there would be no listing price, but at the end of the sale, I was charged not only a listing fee ($.30), there was an end of sale fee ($.30), a fee on how much I charged for shipping (.40) and $.50 taken by PayPal for handling the transaction. I might as well have said I was giving away everything for free because at the end of the day that was what I ended up doing. I understand that both businesses have a right to charge for their services, but really, $.40 on my shipping costs and $.50 to process a $6.00 check??!!

It sounded fine but a little over a week of me checking the status with USPS, I found that my package was sent to the wrong address and was then returned to the seller. Meanwhile I found out that the seller's account was suspended from eBay over another issue (I assume). I decided to file a dispute a few days ago with Paypal figuring there might be a problem. The whole time this party was saying how they were being cooperative with me, and they didn't understand why I filed a dispute. They kept saying to me they re-sent my package with the same tracking number with USPS. I told them that I was going to phone USPS to find out what is happening with my package. Their reply was not to waste my time on talking to them, as they would not do anything.

I did phone USPS about what happened, and they seemed really interested in this and pointed out to me that if they did send the package back to me it would have a different tracking number. After that I escalated my claim with them involving Paypal. The seller also tried deceiving Paypal by giving them the original tracking number. This case is now pending upon investigation. I really believe this is a form of mail fraud. The seller may have purposely sent my package to the wrong address, and then it was sent back to them further claiming they resent it.

My account has been suspended due to an unpaid invoice, which is true, but only because Ebay's method of communication failed. I made a payment of seller fees and had not logged in to my account since first paying the fees expecting all to have been taken care of. Thanks to the Target information leak, my debit card was reissued causing a payment processing error with Ebay, unbeknownst to me. Since making my original payment, or so I thought, I had not logged in to my Ebay account and therefore, had NO clue Ebay was messaging me about the issue.

At some point, Ebay should begin sending direct communication to people's personal email accounts associated with their Ebay account to ensure their message are being received... we don't all spend every day on Ebay. I had no reason to expect anything had gone wrong with my account since their weak attempts to contact me were CLEARLY NOT WORKING!!! I even have the Ebay app that should send push notifications that I have messages but NO!!! Not until I get a collection notice in the mail do I have any idea what is going on!!

When calling the customer contact line and being disconnected TWICE, I was told I had to talk to the account specialist who, of course, work the exact hours I do... how convenient! On top of all this, the item sold this invoice is regarding was a loss for me with regard to shipping due to the awful shipping estimation tool! They might as well tell people the shipping estimation tool is way off and advise customers do the calculating on their own. I even called to complain about the poor estimation, which I am sure there would be some record of my phone call in to the customer service number, which, would have also been a great time to tell me I had an unpaid invoice!

Between the fees and the missed shipping I am out an additional almost $100! I paid the invoice because I am an honest individual who clearly made an attempt to pay the fees with no knowledge of any issues processing the payment (thank you Target) due to lack of effective communication on the part of Ebay.

According to the seller's description, size M is for height 160 to 169 cm and L is 170 to 179 cm. When the items were received, mine was way too long in the arms and legs but I figured I can just roll up the sleeves. My daughter's did not even come to her ankles and was too short in the crotch.

After my daughter tried hers on, I contacted the seller and said that even though it was labelled M, it must have been labelled in error as it was way too small. I was asked to return it, which I did. It cost me $27 to return and I assumed that this would be refunded by the seller as the label on the inside was a mistake on their part. I made regular email correspondence during this time. After sending several follow up emails regarding the item, I finally received notification from the post office that I had a parcel to collect. At the post office, the attendant made a comment that it looked like the package had not been opened as it was labeled return to sender.

When I opened the package, it was just as I had packed it for postage, with a description of the problems with its size. On again contacting the seller for an explanation, they said that they would send another straight away. On 12th October last year, ** told me that they had sent it in August. Then the next day they told me they would send another one tomorrow. On 28th November, they gave me a tracking number that was invalid. On 27th January, they gave me another tracking number and it was also invalid. On 16th February, the manager said she would send a new one. Then on 30th March, they tell me that they never got my parcel.

I have the package here with the address that they gave me on it. It has the return stamp on it. I have had no success corresponding with the seller. I have been more than patient with them as this has been going on for almost a year. All I ask them is to send me the item I paid for - a size M Winnie the Pooh onesie to fit someone 160-169 cm. The one they sent does not fit a person who is 165 cm. It is too small and they need to send me one the right size please. I have asked for the manager's name but I don't get any replies any more. I agreed to refund the buyer $10 for the problem and he agreed. eBay then refunded the buyer TWICE on the same day thru Paypal. When I called Paypal to resolve the issue they spent 15 minutes looking at the problem and passed me on to eBay Resolution who spent 15 minutes looking at the problem and passed me on to someone else from eBay (who spent another 20 minutes looking at the problem) and then passed me back to Paypal who spent another 25 minutes looking at the problem (most of the time I am on hold during all of these visits).

At the end of the last stop with Paypal the agent came back on the line and told me that he had "no reverse button on payments" and my only recourse was to send a Paypal invoice to the buyer and hope that he paid me the $10. eBay has absolutely no problem deducting their fees IMMEDIATELY after the auction is completed (also taking a 10% "final value fee on shipping"...... which I believe they have no right to but that is a separate issue) but when you try to get them to fix a problem they run you around and around figuring that you will just give up.

The good news is that since eBay couldn't spend the time or effort to fix my problems I will have no problem bypassing eBay and Paypal whenever I am given the opportunity to do so. After a sale is over I will have the buyer's email address and I will offer any additional items offline and completely lock eBay and Paypal out of the transaction. If they can't bother to offer a measly $10 refund back to me when THEY make a mistake I have no problem selling items directly to buyers and taking money out of eBay and Paypal's pocket.

Omg, I lost my 1300 all positive feedback account...dumped by ebay because one buyer lied about my item. When go to pay the button says it's a commitment to buy. But no, she told me she just wanted a different color kitchenaid mixer. The emails confirmed that, but ebay could see them and DID not give a D! She "paid" for it, lied about the condition when she received it, and then got the money back through ebay buyer protection! Ebay wants me to pay them back?! No. So, I lost the account. They even took it out on my husband, and now he cannot sell from "his" account either!!! Oh yeah, and they turned it over for collections! What can we do to stop this from being allowed?? Completely unethical!!!

I started selling in Oct 13. Was doing fine, selling Pokemon cards and stuff... Christmas came, I sign up to sell internationally, so down the yellow brick road I go... I get buyers in Spain, Germany, England, Italy, Denmark and Finland... Finland the land of if it makes it through customs you win... I had two buyers complain their items had not shown up. This is mid-December when everyone in the world is sending things... I check the tracking number. It is "in Country". They say it is my fault it has not arrived, (must be because I own the USPS) and leave neg feedback and again those nasty numbers in the ratings...

1 week suspension... Halfway through, they write and say the items were held at customs for days... but that they left bad feedback and bad ratings; feedback can be rescinded, but not ratings number. I get suspended. One week later, I get back on, and some guy in Germany gets his box of Pokemon cards. He paid less than 5 cents apiece for them, did not want insurance, writes and says, his box arrived damage and some of the cards are missing!! What am I going to do about it...

EBay says give him a refund when he returns it. He doesn't want to return it... He files a complaint with Paypal. He wins because "item was not as described"... Neg feedback and bad ratings.. Now I have 128 positive feedbacks, 3 neg and my dashboard numbers at 3.9 3.8 3.9 and they are in the red and my seller amount is reduced from 5000 and 100 items to 10 items and 500!!!

I solider on and then I hear that one of the Everly Brothers passes away, and I buy a signed fan club letter from 1959 signed by both...no coa. Wanted it for personal reasons... I find a better piece, a signed photo and personal letter, and buy that so I put the 1st one up for sale... Just bought it on eBay 3 days before now selling on eBay... ACCOUNT SUSPENDED INDEFINITELY... Of course I am on the phone immediately, and am told that PSA/DNA has decided that the item is not real and since I am now suspected of selling forged items... out of the game.

By the way PSA/DNA not only authenticates 1000s of items a year, they also sell items that they self authenticate... OH and they are owned in part by EBAY... Not bad work, declare all your ** legit, discount everyone else stuff as bogus, then hold hands with eBay and down the yellow brick road... No conflict of interest here.... I send them a Duke Snyder signed baseball. I got it in town here when the HOF player came to town for an autograph signing the owner of the store had won from Upper Deck trading cards... So I stand in line, shake his old hand, get a baseball signed and a photo... PSA/DNA say the ball is a forgery... but they have a couple for sale if I am interested in..... Have a nice day.

I sold a handbag that was in EUC for 298.00 dollars. No outside marks or stains and none inside either. Customer confirmed the bag's condition in a message she sent me the day after she received it saying, "The bag is perfect! Thanks so much for such a smooth transaction", also leaving great feedback. Buyer then purchases 5 more items within 2 days. A month passes and buyer messages asking to return one of the items she bought. I said sure and issued refund upon receiving item back. Within that week, she returns everything she purchased from me minus the bag.

2 months to the day, buyer messages me and wants to return the bag. I say okay and she sends it back. I received the bag just a couple days later and upon inspection I noticed the bag was broken. I emailed buyer and told her the refund would only be a partial due to the bag being damaged while she had it. Buyer AGREED and I requested to cancel the transaction through eBay and THE BUYER ACCEPTED. Money was refunded through PayPal and that was that, so I thought.

The next day I seen I had a return on my selling manager page. Clicked it and OMG she opened a case, SNAD, and said it was broken when she received it. Well eBay set the refund date for April 1st. March 28th I called eBay to fill them in on what happened. Sitting in front of my laptop with my email open, I go on to tell the CSR my story AND BAM I just received an email saying I just issued the buyer a FULL REFUND. I stopped mid-sentence and ask the CSR, who had already acknowledged he piggy backed my account, why he sent that refund. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!!

I insisted to speak to his sup. at once! I talked to his sup for over an hour and was promised this would be dealt with and she would call me the following day. NO PHONE CALL! So I call back wanting answers and eBay tells me this word for word: "Since the buyer opened the case as SNAD, eBay will side with the buyer meaning it doesn't matter who issued the refund and you shouldn't worry about it". I told him I already refunded her 140 dollars on top of the FULL REFUND eBay issued and that the money eBay stole from my PayPal account was grocery money for my kids and his response was, "Maybe I should start taking 10 percent of each sale I make and put it away for when this happens then my kids wouldn't have to miss a meal."

I'm lost for words. I have just been robbed and there isn't a thing I could do about it. Nothing has been done to fix this but I can't afford to stop selilng on eBay till I find something else so I'm forced to take it like a big girl and hope it doesn't happen again.

I bought an item that did not match the picture or description when I received it. Seller did not respond to email. Opened a case and it was decided in my favor. I was told on the phone that I was eligible for receiving a return shipping label, but the seller only has a PO Box listed, so they are unable to provide the label unless he provides a physical address. A week, 3 emails, 2 calls to the seller, 3 phone calls to eBay later, the last of which I demanded to talk to a supervisor, and there is a possibility that I might get the label provided in 24-48 hours when the system can actually update the change in address information that the seller provided today.

So I have had to do all of this to get eBay to provide me with a $50 label to return an item I paid $125 for. This is what it takes to get them to honor their 'HASSLE FREE RETURN Policy' which states: "It depends on the reason for the return and the seller's return policy. If the ITEM IS NOT AS DESCRIBED, then the SELLER WILL PAY FOR RETURN SHIPPING"...

Have sold on eBay for well over a decade and have 100% positive feedback - tons of transactions. Almost never have a problem but IF YOU DO - eBay is the WORST. You cannot email them as you can Amazon, you have to call. I called with an issue - they had a wait time of 50 minutes and I got transferred three times to PEOPLE WHO DID NOT KNOW WHAT THEY WERE DOING AND CLEARLY ARE OUTSOURCED FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY... It's a great forum to sell around the world and I DO think the fees they charge are fair and the site works great...UNLESS YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. This is what happens when a company gets so big and then unlike Amazon which has surprisingly FANTASTIC customer service, they do not care about people and because eBay is basically a monopoly for their type of service, they get away with it. That may change...sites like Etsy and Amazon are taking the customers eBay...you really had better pay attention!

I am so sick of Ebay buyers calling me in the middle of the night, can't even speak English. They call repeatedly. Sometimes same person every 10 minutes all night long, then they also don't use the ebay messaging system, no. Instead they are sending messages to my personal email account. I searched everywhere with no luck how are these buyers able to get a hold of this information. How can I stop them from getting this info? They should be only contacting you through the Ebay messaging system, then why is my email address being given to them??? This is really starting to get me mad. I want my information kept confidential. I hate these people constantly intruding on my personal space and time. Is there a way to make this stop?????
