I ordered a vest and capris from the Blair catalog. When I received the items they were two different shades of stone. They were listed separately in the catalog with the color of the vest and capris both listed as Stone 009. I have ordered them two times now. The first time I was obviously surprised at the difference in color. I called and spoke to a customer service rep and was told she could also see a difference in color, she researched it further and said they were made in two different places, and to send them back. She said she would make note of the difference, and to make sure the color of the items matched. I sent that order back and noted on the invoice that although they were the same color number and name they didn't match. I also noted if they didn't match I did not want to reorder and would like credit to my account - include shipping charges since it wasn't my error.

A day later I received a voicemail from another representative from Blair. Who not so nicely said the reason they were two different colors was that they were listed separately and not as a set. Using the same color code and number... Really?! I don't understand how you can order two items with the very same color name and number and not EXPECT them to match! I received an order yesterday, the color difference is even more pronounced. The capris are a grayish stone color and the vest is more of a yellow stone color...still both packages show the color as 009 Stone. The invoice that accompanied the order had typed on it "Examine color" and "Please check the color on each item, make sure they match" both comments highlighted in pink! I need to have my account credited with both the purchase and shipping. This whole fiasco was caused by Blair and their inability to advertise items correctly.

Last month I ordered an item from the Blair catalog. To pay for that item, I submitted a personal check and a refund check that Blair had sent me in March because an item I had wanted was no longer available. Two weeks later, I received an envelope from Blair that contained the refund check plus a form letter that stated the company cannot process "third-party/outdated..." checks. There was NO order number on the form, NO identifying communication that stated what had happened, so I called Blair. The representative I spoke with could not explain what happened or why the refund check had not been processed - frankly she could not tell me anything at all. She instructed me to return the refund check to the company address with a note that contained a series of numbers she said would ensure that the payment would be properly handled.

I followed her instructions. Then, late last week, I received another note from Blair asking for payment on the order. I called them again, and again was essentially told to wait until they could locate the order/personal check/refund check. So I am waiting... All of this is to say that I will not be ordering from Blair again. I know that they do business as Blair, Haband, Old Pueblo Traders and other names. I do not know if they are a conglomerate, if they recently have changed ownership, or how they train their representatives.

What I do know is that I will not burden them with my patronage any further. I have read the reviews left by others and I absolutely concur with their thoughts. It was especially disturbing to me to read about the family who was trying to deal with demands from Blair that they settle a non-existent, 10-year-old debt. This company or set of companies does not need my business, and their poor assessment on this rating site is evidence of that fact. I doubt that anything will improve on their end, and I would encourage other customers and/or potential customers to spend their money elsewhere.

Updated on 04/03/2018: What I had failed to mention was that I had been a very long-term customer of theirs. After posting my initial review, I called Blair to check on the status of my order and to confirm that the refund check they had mistakenly returned to me would be applied to my pending order along with my personal check. I was very disappointed when I was told by the representative that they never received my personal check.

It was only after I gave them information from my bank that they had already cashed my check that the representative acknowledged it, and even then she sounded confused. I then told her to cancel my pending order and return my monies. That, at least, will solve this issue. I will not order from Blair or any of their affiliated companies again. This was the second time in six months that I had encountered problems with an order I had placed, and it will be the last time. As I mentioned in my initial review, it is unclear to me if this set of companies has changed hands recently and/or undergone some sort of restructuring, but it is clear that quality of service has declined considerably.

My mother ordered some products years ago and paid her bill off completely and now she's getting phone calls from the company, or whoever it's turned over to, stating that she didn't pay her bill in full and I know for a fact that she did. Reason being is because I was the one loading the card for her to send it. We purchased a prepaid Visa just for the purpose of making her payments. I really didn't have a problem with this company and was considering a purchase, but seeing as though she's being accused of not paying her bill in full, I'm really skeptical about it.

This has been YEARS AGO since she ordered products from this company. If she owed any money why was it not settled or mentioned before now (which like I said before...it's been paid in full). This has been over 10+ years ago and it's just now being brought to our attention. Something is not right with this situation and she will not be repaying the monies that she already paid at/around the time of purchase. I just really can't wrap my head around how it's coming about after 10+ years! It's been so long that we no longer have the card. I suggest that when problems like this occur, you need to address it before it turns into 10 years on someone else. I would really appreciate if you will stop calling my mother about this situation. Her name is June **. Please don't let me have to discuss this problem any further again! She is 73 years old and does not need any stressful business like this!!

Purchased a Dell Computer on 12/29/17 for the price of $249.00. Rec'd computer in January 2018. I tried to set it up, but could not. Contacted my Internet Service which is Cox Cable here in Florida and they could not set it up. So the Tech asked me to find the serial number of the computer which I did and low and behold, they are selling used computers or reconditioned computers and you are thinking they are new. The Tech from Cox Cable, verified that the computer was built in 2010. I have made numerous phone calls to return to GCM Tech Support out of Minnesota. No one ever answers the phone, but once in a while they will call back. It took 2 months for me to return the computer to GCM Tech for an authorization. I put the computer on my charge with Comenity Bank which deals with Blair/Haband but still no credit on my account. I keep calling and keep being put off.

I am on a limited income being 71. Plus they are charging me service charges. Customer service is useless. So I contacted State Attorney Pam Bondi's office in Tallahassee and supposedly they sent a letter which they need to respond in 30 days. Haven't heard a thing. Tried calling the company today again, and all you get are voicemails. No one ever calls you back. Contacting Billing, Shipping, Customer Service etc. It is very frustrating! I feel this company is a scam!!!

I had ordered one top for my sister for Christmas, and then I realized after I placed the order that I needed to order a different size for her. I called back 5-10 minutes later and they told me that they would cancel that order and reorder the same top in a different size. Later on, my sister got the canceled top and also got the correct top. Then she returned the canceled top to the Post Office. Recently I received my Blair bill showing that the top WAS returned, but they were charging me for the shipping on the canceled top! I thought this was ridiculous because it was THEIR mistake not to cancel the order, and now they expect me to pay on the shipping + handling and the gift wrap.

When I called the customer service department about this matter, the woman I spoke to was disrespectful and would continuously interrupt me when I was talking and would talk over me. She tried to create an air of confusion in the conversation to jumble my thoughts when I knew EXACTLY what happened! During the call, she put me on hold multiple times when I asked to speak to her supervisor, and she would NEVER connect me to her supervisor! The final time I asked to speak to her supervisor she hung up on me! I have been a faithful customer of Blair for 18 years! This is a horrendous way to treat a loyal customer. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in Blair and how they attempt to resolve their mistakes!!!

In today's e-commerce world, charging $9.99 for return postage, whether returning or exchanging is ridiculous. I would have exchanged my too-big pants for a smaller size, except -- even with an exchange, the return postage charge still applies. I can go along with a small re-stocking fee on straight up returns, but not return postage. This is not competitive and to me, constitutes poor customer service. I would suggest going elsewhere to get a better exchange and return policy. Note to self: check return policies with new online retailers before ordering and getting ripped off. This policy is not only unfair to Blair's customers, but also endangers the employment of their workforce, as customers will abandon them.

This company is very rude. I placed an order with Blair this morning. The order did go through but they kept sending me messages that there was a problem with my credit card. There was no problem with it. The charge appeared on my bank account but they were still trying to get me to use another card so they can charge me twice. I called Blair, they claim they couldn't find my order. They are just giving me a runaround. I contacted my bank about this and they told me to wait 24 hours and if I don't hear from the company they will be calling them to get my money back. I was told the order might of went to one of their other companies like Haband. This is a big rip off. I ordered from Blair not Haband. I would not recommend ordering from them especially online. My bank told me to do it over the phone next time.

Be aware that this catalog sales company will charge you freight on your order, even though they advertise the opposite. They will also charge you sales tax and claim they have a state presence (Florida in my case). Although, they can’t seem to tell me where they are in FL. Basically, they are the opposite of, let’s say, L.L. Bean (which is outstanding). Very frustrated that I’m paying $9.99 in freight for a $30 order. And, sales tax not only on the product, but on the freight as well!

In September 2017 I purchased Fresh sport shirt and matching sport pants in size medium. They sent me correct size in the shirt which ran large. The pants were sent size large. I sent them back in early October stating that they sent me the wrong pant size. I explained that I am a medium in both shirt and pants. They sent me a medium in November which was very large on me. I sent them back in November and asked for a petite small. I had not heard nor received anything by December 27th. I called and was informed that they were out of this size.

Also that because I had returned the pants Blair deducted $10.00 off of my credit and that I only had $10.00 credit left. I was upset that not only did they not tell me that they were out of stock of these pants, but also they charged me for their mistake. I will no longer order from Blair. My friend also informed me that the clothes she has ordered run large and their sizing is incorrect. Overall---poor clothing quality and poor customer service.

First time ordering from this company... and now the LAST! Ordered 8 Silhouette Slimmers to replace current rayon/polyester work pants. I called reps 3X prior to ordering to get tips on sizing and material quality. I explicitly explained that I was in my 40s and wanted a classic style, easy wear, no iron comfortable pant with deep pockets because we can't bring purses into our work area. I was skeptical of ordering because they charge 9.99 to return shipment. That's why I asked so many questions. Well, when I received these I was absolutely mortified. The material was coarse and the style looked like it was geared for someone in their 80s. It wasn't remotely classic more like a black burlap bag. They looked and felt horrible. The pockets barely could fit gum and lipstick. I returned but called customer service to waive charge given all the discussion I had with reps prior to eliminate any confusion.

I was told to write an explanation with my reason for return and they would determine if s/h back could be waived. I circled item not as pictured or described by rep and did not like material/fabric. They didn't even have the common courtesy to email, or mail a reply to my complaint but deducted the $9.99 from my refund anyway. I called to complain yet I got a lame story that they can't make those decisions it comes from the warehouse yet they would my forward me or give me another contact number. On top of this they have the audacity to keep sending me a catalog after I've made 3 phone calls to have them stopped yet I'm still receiving it. Very upset with the lack of customer satisfaction skills.

I'm sure she was enticed by getting an extra 10% off her order or some such deal, and didn't read the VERY fine print saying that she would be charged $14.98 per month forever afterward -- which FAR outweighs the percent off she got on her order. My mom is not an idiot -- she is pretty sharp for her age -- but she IS elderly (as are probably most of their customers). I feel this company is purposely out to trick their customers. I see from other reviews that many others have had this same experience. The fact that there will be a monthly charge for being a VIP should be prominently displayed. As far as I know Blair makes good products, so it's very disheartening that they stoop to such a cheesy tactic for getting people to pay $14.98 a month.

Return and exchange - new policy is a dirty trick. Blair just started a new policy of charging shipping for returned AND/OR exchanged merchandise even if what is sent to the customer is the wrong size or is poor quality. I was going to exchange a pair of pants that were labeled as my size but which were obviously made wrong because they are too small. They are the same size as a pair of Alfred Dunner pants I own that are a size smaller than what I am currently wearing. When I called Blair customer service they said I would have to pay $9.99 if I used their shipping label or I could mail the wrong sized pants back by other mailing carrier method if I wanted to save a few dollars.

Since I only paid $15.99 for the mis-sized pants, I don't see any point in returning them and receiving about $5 when the expense of returning them is figured in. If I "exchange", I will have to pay for both the new pants being sent to me AND the returned pants being shipped. In other words, there is no advantage to exchange -- there really is no exchange policy. You are just starting over. When I spoke to customer service, they had no access to whomever created this policy. They don't even have the right to give out an address or name of their policymakers. This is a crappy, scamming company, in my opinion. Don't order from them. It is too high risk.

We did not notice it on our bill for several months.

We contacted them to remove us from this club and refund the money, but we have had no contact from them. We then looked on Consumer Affairs and found others were treated the same way. The sad thing is we have purchased many things from them over the years, but not anymore. So they have lost a good customer over this shady practice. Shame on them. They will not refund the money, will only put it back on the account and the only way to "get it back" is to order something which will not probably fit either... so it's just a round robin effect. I got the standard "I checked with my supervisor" response from Carol, who then informed me the Return Dept. could find nothing wrong with the garment so I was being charged the $9.99 return shipping. She said she didn't know why I couldn't get my arm through, the Return Dept. said it was fine. Why would I return an item for the exact same item (color and size) if I could wear it? That makes no sense. I lost my temper a bit because the item truly was defective and I feel cheated. The return policy is a scam.

I was told by Diane that my returns had been received on May 27th and the return would be processed in 2-3 weeks and the new shipment would be sent in 4-8 days after that, making the whole process to take 1 month! I told Diane that this was unacceptable and that the tops would be out of season by then, she said sorry but there was nothing she could do about it.

I asked to speak to a manager and a Ms. or Mrs. ** came on the line. She asked how she could help and I explained the problem and again I was given a "sorry" but that was how long it would take and she could do nothing to expedite my order. I asked why it would take so long and Ms. or Mrs. ** stated that it took that long it took and that was that and she could not help. I asked to speak to her manager and Ms. or Mrs. ** said she did not have one and she then HUNG UP on me. The total lack of customer service was appalling.

After almost a month, when I had not received the item, I called them. They said it had been returned (not by me)??? So now I am without the item, plus I got charged for the stupid card that was supposed to save me money in the first place. HUH? I think this place is a scam. I tried to cancel the card and they said I would have to call another number, and they weren't (of course) opened today. I have a feeling my nightmare has just begun with this company.

They asked me to call USPS and investigate. They first use UPS (**) who then deliver to USPS and then USPS has to pick up from there. BUT USPS never delivered the package to me? SO where is it? I asked for a refund. They asked me to wait another 30 calendar days, but in fact they GUARANTEE delivery within 4 to 8 business days. The customer service wants me to do the investigation with USPS which she said is my responsibility.

Her name is Barbara, and when I asked to talk to her supervisor she replied, “She is busy and cannot talk to you.” WHAT USA law says that they have to make me wait 30 calendars days before cancelling my order. ALSO, why they are asking me to call USPS and myself do the investigation? So conclusion. If you place an order with BLAIR they CANNOT guarantee they will make sure you will receive the merchandise. According to their customer service (Barbara) it is up to the customer to manage the delivery service.

I made a purchase with HABAND/Blair both advertising the same item I ordered using the current benefit of free +20% discount. The order should have come under that free shipping order but the check-out showed none. I contacted Blair & their associate, Haband, but told they only allow one promotion code per order. The shipping charges should have been the best one, yet that did not appear. Then I had Credit Certificates, but no place to enter the number.

They stated that "If you have a gift card or merchandise credit certificates, you can enter the numbers listed in the payment section of checkout in the box stating redeem gift card, reward certificate or merchandise credit certificate." I reviewed those pages at least 3 times and could still not find any mention of the above access you stated. This has been going on for some time when I made purchases in the past as was unable to find a place to use them, even though they said that they don't expire.

They deducted $10.00 from my credit card under the pretense that they were giving me a matching gift of $10.00 each on of these without my consent. Their gift had an expiration date, but mine did not. Sarcastically, I went back online to their site where I could check the value of the credits I should have, totaling 8. The six numbers all return with message "Insufficient Funds" or please enter valid gift code. The last two stated they were good. Oddly enough, they are the ones of lesser value.

They went ahead and delivered my order with NONE of the benefits or use of my own $10.00 gift cards. This is a miserable waste of my time and money for a company that is supposed to be a reputable old company. My impression is that they are Fraudulent, Misleading, Dishonest, Crooks. They should be put out of business by a class action suit. Anyone want to try??

We called and paid the Bal and was told the account is now closed!!! BUT wait it wasn't. We never was told about the VIP and the account assure. "What is this?" I asked. "We can't close this. You need to call them." So we called and had them (both) closed. BUT WAIT they took a month before they got around to it. So we got billed the mo. charge of $14.95 on the account we closed a month ago.

BUT Wait it's more. Also we got charged a late fee on the VIP bill that we never knew we had because we thought we closed this account. Now today I called (11/17/16) and talked to BLAIR, to the supervisor MARIA - told me she was not clearing this account and I had to pay the Balance of $32.57 to be set free of this account. This was and is Total BS. We were told one thing and not another and now we owe them more money. STAY AWAY FROM companies LIKE THIS. They are only in it to keep you in debt to them. At one point he asked me what I was buying for $14.97 each month. I checked the account, found out what had happened and called Blair to cancel the VIP membership. They assured me it was taken care of.

Now I am receiving a bill for balances on the account plus late fees and interest from the bank which handles their credit card service. My new bill $68.88. Three phone calls later, shifted from one department to another (one of whom verified the account had been closed but there was nothing else that could be done about the fees), and finally to the bank. I was offered a $10.00 reduction of the bill and a $5.00 coupon for my next purchase, if I buy before July 4. Are they insane? I am infuriated. This review also includes the credit card company that Blair hoodwinks the elderly into applying for. Someone with a thick East Indian accent, an agent from Blair, called my old, crippled Granny late one night and easily talked her into placing an order and opening up a credit card with Comenity Bank. She paid the bill for 117.00 as soon as it came. A fleece sweater was huge. We returned it for $9.99. Then they somehow counted that returned item as unpaid. They billed her every month for the jacket with a late charge and finance charge. I came upon the bill today and she said she couldn't make sense out of it.

I called the Comenity bank and sharply explained there was something fishy with this bill. After much insistence they agreed to only charge my Granny for the shipping fee of this mystery jacket. I agreed to this only because I wanted to be rid of them. We then promptly closed this credit card that was opened only because they preyed on a little old lady. This is financial exploitation of the elderly in my opinion. STAY AWAY FROM BLAIR AND COMENITY BANK.

I have NO idea how to clear this up. I called the attorney general’s office in Ohio and they say they can't do anything because it deals with a federal bank and I need to go through the FDIC. THE BILL IS NOW OVER $300.00 which I will not let her pay because the item was already paid for and we have the proof. Any help to clear up this matter would be appreciated.

Instead, I was turned over to a collection agency who told me that my overdue payments were for something totally different than what I was told was charged. The billing department at Blair was not helpful, and in the end I paid the collection agency for the amount using my credit card. That should have been the end of it, and I thought nothing more about the experience that created such anger in me.

The return label that I used ended up costing almost three times as much. I ended up losing almost all the money I had paid for the item. Beware using the labels with any company and especially with BLAIR.

In Nov. 2011 my elderly mother purchased some pajamas from Blair online and deceptively got signed up for a Blair rewards travel program. Who knew that a pajama company would deceive you into signing up for something that you would never use and take 14.95 out of your account every month? My Mom had a stroke and I noticed her credit card account had been charged for 14.95 from Blair rewards. I knew since she had been in the the hospital and nursing home for a stroke that she hadn't charged anything from Blair. Come to find out she had been charged 14.95 out of her account for over 3 years.

I called and complained and got it stopped and threatened to call the credit card company and they gave me 89.70 back. But she was charged over 600 dollars for nothing she would ever use and probably doesn't really give much travel discounts anyway. At 90 she isn't going to do much traveling. I reported it to the credit card company and the attorney general. It looks like the attorney general is going to take action and try to get the rest of the money refunded. BEWARE it looks like somehow through offering free shipping they at the same time may sign you up for this program. It is deceptive and fraudulent and no doubt elderly are getting taken advantage of. Do what I did, report it both to the credit card company and the attorney general. Maybe we can get them to stop what they are doing.

There was no "We'll be glad to fix the problem" or "What can we do to correct our error?" In fact, I had to request that I did not have to pay return postage for an item I did not order. Original Review: Dec. 7, 2014

I saw something in an ad that I wanted to get my mom for Christmas. I decided to call their number and place an order. I talked to Randy and he was very unprofessional and rude to me. He kept interrupting me and had a hateful tone to me. He asked if I had any promo codes so I gave him the one I had but he snapped " that one is invalid" and when I asked why he says "I just CAN'T give you one". I thought "I didn't ask for one, idiot," then I had to go through all my flyers to find another ad with a code. I also asked nicely about different color options and he frustratingly sighed LOUDLY so I just said, "that's ok."

I told Randy that I was low on money and I can't afford anything extra but he kept trying to sign me up for their VIP Club which costs $14.95 a month. I told him "no thank you," but he kept trying to add it on. I finally said "I cannot afford and I am REALLY not interested." Long story short - Randy is a jerk and I will NEVER order from them again cause of him. This was my first and last order. I know I am not the only one he was rude to.

I called Blair on a daily basis and continued to get excuses as to why the merchandise was not progressing in the FedEx system and I finally called FedEx myself on 11/29/14 where I was informed. "We never got the merchandise for shipping and if we don't have it by now we are not going to get it. It never got to us". I was also told Blair would send an email to "expediting" department and I would receive an email from Blair on 11/27 which never happened. When I called Blair back I was informed they were not willing to even consider refunding money or sending another order until 12/08/14 at which time I contacted my credit card company who agreed that a reversal of charges was indicated. Another pair was off by an inch on the seam that runs along the side of the leg. The third pair fit except they were 3 inches too long. Makes me wonder if their clothes are inspected before they sell them. I do not plan on ordering any more from this company. Too pricey and poor quality.

I only recently opened an account with Blair and their credit purveyor, Comenity Bank. I made my first payment of $20.00 online at the Comenity site. I noticed that the payment had not been withdrawn from my account. But, it had only been about 2 weeks... so maybe they are slow? But no, today, I got a letter saying that my payment had been returned by the bank and that I now owe an additional $20 penalty for the returned payment. My bank did not return a payment. I checked with the bank. Called Blair and got cheerfully and confidently told that I had made a mistake when I typed in my bank account number. I asked what number they had. The rep "couldn't reveal that information."

I went to the Comenity site and attempted to see the incorrect account number, but no account number is stored on the site. In order to make a payment, you first have to schedule it and then you are given a page that asks you to enter an account number. On that page, you are asked to enter the routing number once. Then you asked to enter the account number twice in the style of entering a password... I told the Blair rep that I am entirely confident that I did not enter an incorrect number (I never have... ever... in many years of paying online). I am even more confident that I could not have entered an incorrect number twice. If I had and if it had been, the site had been engineered to take the payment immediately, then it would have noticed a difference between the 2 incorrect numbers.

Anyway, long story short, they will not delete the $20 late charge. The bullheadedness of the rep and later of her supervisor almost convinces me that this is not a new issue for them. I almost think it is a scam... easy way to collect an extra $20. I am shipping back things that haven't been used and I will not order from Blair or any of their associated sites... all serviced by Comenity. I am left wondering how to deal with payments in the future as I am confident that this is not the last trick in the Comenity bag. I strongly suggest that you avoid this company.

My 90 year old mother ordered something from the Blair Catalog. Subsequently, she returned one of the items using the labels provided in the box. What my mother didn't realize is that Blair placed a fee for return shipping on her Blair account. She assumed that the return shipping was covered by Blair (much like other catalog-based merchants). When she saw the $8.99 return shipping amount on her bill, she didn't understand the fee. After many phone calls to Blair, she never was able to resolve the matter over the phone. Five months later, the fee has now grown to $69.97. Seems a bit steep to me and I believe Blair should be more forthright about their return shipping fee policy. If they plan to charge a return shipping fee, they should just simply deduct it from the refund amount.

In addition, when I call into Blair to resolve the matter, it takes a long time for them to find her in their system. Also odd, since their catalogs find her mailbox every month with her customer number clearly printed on the back page. Lastly, when I tried to take care of the matter over the phone, they wanted to charge me a $15 transaction fee. The customer service manager hung up on me when I questioned their business practices. This experience has left me believing that Blair uses deceptive practices and I would not recommend this company to any of my friends or family.

I am writing to you today because I am very distressed as to how I am/am not being treated by your company. On August 29, 2013, I had a long conversation with someone in your credit department. I discussed my situation with a very nice lady. I told her that I had been expecting back pay from my job (which has not come through yet) and that was why I opened the account, because had I received the pay I could afford monthly payments.

As I discussed with her, I wanted to close my account and send the merchandise back and I apologized for this embarrassment. I have since received the label and the merchandise is on its way back. The lady took away my late charge and my finance charges, and I agreed to leave the account open. I asked if there were monthly charges, etc. and she explained to me that if I did not use the account over a twelve-month period, it would close. I did receive phone calls after this conversation regarding payment, and after I explained the situation again, the calls stopped. The caller said she was going to put in the system that there was a dispute, since she could not figure out any other way to stop the calls. She did say that the earlier conversation from the 29th WAS in the system, and could not figure out why I was still getting calls.

I was under the impression that this situation has been resolved, and that I was to wait until the merchandise was back to Blair and to see what my final total would be. Not once in any conversation was it mentioned that this would hurt my credit, and that is what I was concerned about the most. I was assured that you would work with me and that I needn't worry, and I did ask more than once if this would hurt my credit and the answer was NO.

I monitor my credit on a daily basis due to the fact that I have experienced some identify theft back in 2005-2006. I checked it this morning and I am VERY UPSET to see that you reported me late. This cost me 23 points to my credit score, for a small balance, and I am not happy about this. Therefore, I DO want to close this account IMMEDIATELY. I feel that I have been deceived and I do not do business like this. I am very disappointed in the way things have worked out. I do like your products and like the quality. Again, please close this account immediately and I will wait for the final bill and pay it right off so you don't put me in the credit bureau again. I have cut the credit card as well.

Like many online companies these days, Blair has given in to other companies who "piggyback" on their sales calls. In our case, it was even MORE subversive. It was on the form enclosed WITH the product when it arrived! On the shipping form it said, "This order qualifies for a REBATE OF SHIPPING CHARGES" & refers you to a number to call for FREESHIPPING.COM.

My 72-year-old mom ordered some clothing that she wanted over the PHONE. She called the number, hoping to save some money & thinking they were gonna HELP her. She did NOT understand from the phone call that they would start charging her $12.95 per month... more than the original shipping, by the way.... AND that the rebate, in the future, would only be on orders placed ONLINE. She has no access to computers, hence the original PHONE CALL. :(

Shame on you Blair AND FREESHIPPING.com. In follow-up calls, FREESHIPPING.com did refund the 4 months' of charges. Blair denied all responsibility because the operator said that it was "an advertising space and they are not responsible". I told her they should be more responsible & vet these ads & calls for their (substantial!!) elderly clientele.

My 89-year-old mother loves to order from Blair (along with other catalog companies). Approximately 3 years ago, I noticed that companies that she has ordered from were somehow connected to other companies who were offering "rewards programs" or "savings programs" as part of their ritual. Well, she is hearing impaired. Here is my take on this. First, if a customer calls to order a product from you and I don't care what the product is, be grateful for the order, ask if there is anything else and thank them for their business. This "upsell" technique appeared about 15+ years ago with Sears. I remember that they sent me a notice telling me that they were going to send me something that unless I cancelled the order.

As a proud cardholder of Sears, I called them, told them how horribly disappointed I was that some young college graduate had come in and persuaded them to abandon good long standing policies about treatment of credit cards and I told them that I would like to cancel my credit card. I cut it up and never have used it again. When I drive through a fast food, they are always asking if I would like something else. I am intolerant of people trying to sell me something that I do not want and did not ask for. I'm perfectly okay with someone asking is there anything else that we can do or provide for you today. But my intelligence is being insulted every time they ask me would you like fries with your order? Gosh, no. If I did, I would have thought of that and included it in my order.

So, onto Blair; first, this Comenity Bank is a mixed bag. My mom was hospitalized after a fall then in a rehab center, had some major challenges the first few days there with meds and hallucinations. Needless to say, when they called her house and I answered, I explained the situation and that I would see that the bill got paid but that I could not say when. The first person didn't get it. The second gal could not have been any nicer or more helpful. I told her that I needed to review the bill and she noted that there was a Blair’s Rewards Program for $14.95 per month. I explained that we didn't order that and I wanted it cancelled and she placed the account under "dispute" for me which was great. I told them that I would be happy to pay by MasterCard (which I had seen on my mom's account for Blair before). No, they couldn't do that. I could pay through my bank account, but there would be a charge for that.

I said so my questions are as follows: First, why didn't they place the charge on my mom's M/C account, which she always use and we never have a problem with? Second, what was the other charge that was on the account previously? And third, I placed the payment in the mail on Monday Oct 12th (Veterans Day) at our best post office; 2nd Main Post Office in a Major City and they claim that the check was not received until Oct 21st. Oddly enough a late fee was assessed on Oct 20th. I called and explained that I do not believe for one second that they did not receive payment until Oct 21st. I believe that this is a sad business practice and that the account was in dispute over the rewards charges. So far we have no resolution. Their last correspondence indicates that they will be reporting this to a credit bureau. So my solution is I have told my mom no more catalogs, no more ordering, no more and buying from these folks because sadly, they have gone the way of greed.

The flip side is if she had paid her bill on time, there would be no issue. I get that and my mom will share in the responsibility and the accountability for that, however, the upsell of the Rewards Programs, the inability to pay off the debt with my mom's MasterCard and then the 8 days mailing time, well that is a farce. In today's day and age mail can get across a country in 3 days. I wouldn't risk that with my mortgage, but I do not believe for one minute that they did not have this in their PO Box within 3 business days which would have made it there perfectly on time. So they have now charged another $34 fee and another $3.58 in interest at 29.9% (inflated rate for the late payment!). They have lost my mom's business. I have called and requested that they cancel their catalogs and I have told her no more buying and then I will mail everything that they have sent, which has not been opened or used, back to them for a refund.

Businesses: protect your clientele, cherish them, do not upsell them and do not assume that they want products that they didn't ask for. Thank them for their business! CD Baby is a really good example of a great company! Check them out. They are amazing, they make you smile and they make you want to order more from them! I know it does that for me! Good luck.

What a shock to get on to the internet and find many other had the same experience. Since they were so unhelpful, I asked that my card be cancelled. I will tell the story to others in hopes they do not get ripped off like me.

I ordered shoes and a vest before Christmas. In January, I was charged $20 late fee for a payment, so in February, 2012 (this month), I sent in the payment, about 5 days before the due date. As of today, my bank account is still not showing that the payment went through, and the customer service said the late charge will be added again! They said the payment has to be sent in ten days in advance from the due date. This charge, and ten days is ridiculous. Are they just letting these payments sit on the desk, until they are late? This time and fee should be illegal. I'm sure the payment got there in 2-3 days!

My spouse received an email offering a rewards program from this company. She signed up for the rewards program via the internet. Account **. A charge for $1.95 appeared on my Discover card for Blair Rewards 01/06/12. I did not authorize this charge and nowhere on the email sent by Blair Rewards was there any mention of a monthly charge for the rewards program. Yes I have a copy of the email. I cancelled the Blair rewards account on 01/07/2012 at 845 AM PST. I also sent notification to Discover card to dispute the charge.

Please help. I am writing this complaint to you on behalf of my mother. She is 87 years old and is constantly getting mailing from Blair about free items. However, they recently sent her a free gift and later charged her account $46.98. Today, she received a letter from them stating she had signed and returned an acceptance certificate for a free item offer every 5 to 7 weeks and billing her Blair credit card for those shipments.

She does not recall signing any letters or cards for such items. Saturday (Feb. 13, 2010) I sent a letter and returned their recent free gift to them including the free gift they charged her for. My mother has contacted them several times and asked them to please stop sending her mail. But they continue to bother her. Please help! She wants her name removed from their mailing list as well as Romans, including all catalogs from both companies.

Recently during traditional dinner time, a Blair catalogue rep called here for another individual with the same last name but different first name and could not comprehend the simple statement that no one lived here by that name nor could she understand the statement not to call again. It sounds like Blair is selling telephone number lists, as I doubt many men order from Blair catalogs.

Not funny... I ordered a ladies pullover tunic in mallard (color). I got black suspenders dutifully labeled in the right size and color for the tunic. Can no one read at Blair? As a handicapped individual, since the tunic is no longer carried in the catalogue, I will have to shop malls locally, which is physically painful. It will be interesting to see if I ever get a refund considering the other comments on this site.

I ordered a coduroy cost (medium) for my relative in another state but this is the letter I sent Blair customer service regarding their constant misinformation by represenatives, supervisors, and mangers.
My Customer number: 075 510 322 concerning the CORDUROY CAR COAT. I returned it to the post office today. There should be no shipping nor charges for the above coat that was sent to me by your representative phone errors. I did not place a phone order with Mrs. Streczywilk who said she was going to sent out the car coat to Mrs. Joyce Boltz in Mechanisburg, PA and I would not be charged shipping charges returning the car coat that was sent to me through Blairs' represenatives fault. However, she did charge my bank account the $39.99 to my absolute amazement when she said that she would make an exception when I was already charged for my original phone order that should have been sent to the person that I requested to be mailed. This is bad customer service. Also, I was deceived by Mrs. Strecywilk who told me I would not be charged and I already asked her the question that I did not want to place another phone order. She said that she would make an exception and I would not be charged for the coat being recently sent out. That was not true. The next day my bank account listed $39.99 for the second coat as' a phone order. Another complaint is representatives who do not listen to the customer by having to reiterate their personal information, a company recording telling the customer the office is closed when it is already nine o'clock in the morning (company's opening time) eastern standard time and waiting for an extended amount of time listening to t the same closing recording and waiting for a customer representative to answer his/her telephone at the call center. Also I was told by a representative that the company do not monitor customers' telephone calls. However, Mrs. Strecywilk told me otherwise when I mentioned it to her. I am very frustrated with your company's call centers and personnel who gives out fraudulent information. Annette Kramer 14601 Notley Road Silver Spring, Maryland 20905 301-384-841

Encore Marketing/Blair rewards has been charging $14.95/per month for 4 months starting in October 2008 without my knowledge/authorization. I've requested them to give me a refund; they're only giving me 1 month refund for $14.95. I can't believe this. I only made a one time purchase with them and they start charging me $14.95/month for membership. What a scam.

I mail ordered 2 pairs of trousers from them over the internet. Little did I know they would sell my name and address to a direct marketing company without my permission or knowledge. I knew it was them because I started getting mail addressed to 'Mr', and they were the ones who started that mistake.

I placed an order on 4/01/01, mt check was cashed on 4/09/01. I wanted this item for Mother's Day, I received a card saying they would try to ship it by June 4th. I immediately wrote and canceled this order on May 12th and asked them to refund my money. I received a letter dated May 22nd saying they had shipped this item on the 16th of May and they were not able to cancel my order. I called and complained that I thought it was ridiculous for them to have not returned my money after all this time.

I don't think they would have shipped the merchandise if I had not canceled. I received the merchandise and returned it refused on the 22nd of May. Merleen told me I should have my refund no later than June 3 or 4th. I called again on the fourth of June, and was told they had not received it and I would not get a refund until they received the goods. I don't understand how they can keep my money for over 2 months with out some consequence. They acted like I was wrong to insist that I get my money back after all this time.
