Well my story is probably like a lot of others but I must say I really had such bad eating habits such as: Who knew certain foods are really bad for us like granola bars, cereals and those breakfast snacks cookies! I have learned so much in the past 5-6 weeks! The program is a reminder how important what we eats affects us! I am so happy I have joined and I am never leaving! Simply the best!

I started WW on Feb 6. I started with a very negative attitude and was sure I was going to fail. Guess what? I didn’t fail! I have lost 32 pounds and became lifetime back in June. I followed the plan to a T. I tracked my food and I walked. I haven’t felt deprived at all. I love following a plan where I’m not told I can’t eat certain food groups. WW has helped me with portion control, too. I love going to the weekly meetings. I NEED them to keep on track. I technically only have to weigh in once a month now but I still do it weekly to stay accountable. So happy I finally decided to take the plunge and join.

Thank you for being a dedicated WW member, Kristy!

I'd like to give a zero! They continue to charge you even after you cancel. I cancelled in September and received an email confirmation of the cancel and I'm still getting billed. It's terrible and they shouldn't be doing this!

I canceled my membership online in September. I noticed I was charged again the end of October. I called and got some run around that, "Yes I saw you 'tried' to cancel but it wasn't a successful cancellation..." What!?! She then tells me I accepted an offer for an additional free month (do NOT recall that) and in doing so my account remains active giving them full rights to continue charging. I told her it seemed pretty shady and she said, "Let me put you on hold for a minute." She never came back! I called again and got the same response. So I take this to mean you have to call every month to make sure it's cancelled? Very disappointed in what I believed to be a good company... until now.

They recently dropped an eating plan that had worked for me, since the roll out of only allowing Freestyle for a program I have gained back 10 pounds and continue to gain. Yet they seem to think it works the same for every person out there. I used to be a big fan of the program, but no longer. Will no longer recommend it. They are no longer known as Weight Watchers but as WW and are now focusing on wellness. That is not what I need.

Often the tracking don’t work and it is impossible to put the details in. It is an improvement since 1986 which was fist time I joined in Belgium. Like the motivational points.

I used the Points Plus program, with a lot of success. So 10 years later, after the weight crept back on, I decided to go with the "known & trusted" system of Weight Watchers. Big mistake! I signed up for the 6 month program with coaching (this subscription was also supposed to come with a free gift that I never received). After 2 months of eating and tracking everything, and attending meetings weekly, I was down 3 pounds... Seriously I could have lost more than that, and saved a lot more money, if I did this on my own.
And their customer service is a JOKE!!!! I just called there, spoke to someone who barely spoke English, and I was offered a FREE MONTH, because this "program doesn't work for everyone". Really?!?! You think that when I am calling to try to cancel my membership, and get out of it any way possible, I want a free month? Needless to say I am now out of 70.00 and I have a lot of frustration towards a company that I once held in high regard. I caution you to try and find tools to do this online, for free, before joining. Make sure that you are not one of the ones like me, that this program "DOESN'T WORK FOR". Lots of money, and hours of my own time, down the drain. Thanks a lot WW.

I don't understand why there isn't any feedback provided to users since you are able to collect so much data on all of your users. I receive no suggestions based on my performance or lack of recently. Are you looking at the food tracked and comparing it to performance? Your app has much more potential.

I was successful managing my weight my whole life. I eat well and work-out at the gym. Weight was not an issue for me. I few more work-outs would keep my weight in check if I splurged on holidays or on the weekend. Then I hit menopause and my tricks were not working. I gained 15 lbs in a matter of months. I thought to myself, "I work-out and eat right, where am I going wrong?" I knew I needed to get on track before my weight got out of control. My Mom has been on WW for years and is a life-time member. I decided to give WW a try and I am glad I did. I have lost about 7 lbs in 6 weeks. WW has pointed me in the right direction to get my weight back on track and I am so happy! Thanks WW!

I've used Weight Watchers in the past but old methods of tracking were cumbersome - using the slide card to calculate points, etc. Yes, it's been a while since I was a member! I signed up 3 weeks ago as my weight kept increasing finally reaching the point where I knew I had to do something. In my younger days I could drop pounds easily. But with aging you lose this ability. I also realized I was a stress eater and nighttime snacker. Both habits had to change. So after a recent doctor visit I signed up again. All I can say is the scanner feature is fantastic. So easy now to scan foods. Plus the greatly expanded restaurant area is great. I'm sticking to my daily points total. When I feel like I need to eat from stress or get a little hungry in the evening, I have found substitute foods - last night it was a couple oranges instead of chips or pretzels. And the results are great - 10 pound weight loss in 3 weeks! Thanks WW for making it so easy

I joined WW at work and was a regular member for several years. When I got additional responsibilities and was traveling so much I couldn’t attend meetings anymore, I canceled. A couple of years later, I left that employer. WW continued to charge my credit card - they had no current email or phone number for me. My credit card number changed, but through their autopay system, they continued to put through the charges. When I noticed, I called them and canceled again over the phone.
Now, years later, I noticed the charge is still posting. When I called them, they said the “cancellation must not have been successful” without explanation of how I could have assured a “successful cancellation” - what does that even mean? How can a “successful cancellation” be a requirement when only the party benefiting from NON-cancellation (WW) is able to make it “successful”. I have called yet again, this time I asked for a confirmation number even though it was not offered, and when I was transferred to a supervisor and asked how they were charging a credit card number with no valid contact information, he HUNG UP ON ME.

I am writing to you to celebrate a long time goal (not WW goal yet but planning on making it to LIFETIME) that I was doubting myself. I FINALLY made it to 179 after been stuck in 180-184 for over 1 year and the scale has not budged. To be honest some of it was my fault and not totally being true to the plan, others reasons are that I didn't have my head in the game totally. Without seeing any movements on the scale and other reasons I didn't track honestly. Also I used to be at a size 18 jeans pushing bigger if I didn't stop myself. Now I am in a size 14 and those are now loose and falling down with having to get a smaller size. I'm not sure if I can get into a size 12 yet. But if I do that is the smallest size that I have wore and that we back in High School. UPDATE: I can wear a size 12!!!!!
I have a bunch of reasons now which is I am proud of MYSELF for where I am at now versus where I started at. I started Weight Watchers at my all time highest weight at 217 and I am 2 pounds from a 40 pounds loss. This makes me want to cry happy tears. I first joined Weight Watchers back in 2006 and never stayed on it very long just to get my 16 weeks and 10%. (that old charm holder that looks like 10%) I have been previously been borderline diabetes and with losing weight I have defeated that for a long time. I have been for over 1 year right in the normal range. It runs in my family on both sides so I was told that I choose when I get it our if I get it. It took a long time to really take care about myself.
I started this back in February 2016 and other people doubted me and said that I couldn't do it. Plus other people at my work back then started a diet of their own choice. Then shortly after I joined and I was keeping my eye on the prize. They ALL ended up stoping their diet and then I got the normal why are you paying to loose weight? Well my why was cause I did it before years ago but fell off the wagon hard. But I kept going on the path cause I wanted to prove them wrong and that I could do it; but now I am happy to say that I am doing this for me and I don't care what anyone things.
I was focused on the number on the scale versus how my clothes fit, how I feel, and you know all the other things like we all have felt once we got there. I had some bad habits like just taking cookie dough out of the fridge and eating it like a snack, eating in my car tubes of frosting, 2-3 donuts in one sitting. I look back at that now and think “ Why did I do that to myself I only made it worse and harder to work off after how many times that I did that”.
I have a great leader and our corner of friends at the meeting every Saturday that I go weigh in. I have a great family support of my husband that keeps me in check if I like it or not, and close friends that hasn't had doubts. I have other friends that have helped me through this and seen them get to goal. I also have a great accountability partner Kathleen we have stuck together no matter what type of week we have we communicate everyday multi times a day. We keep each other going. She has became a close friend to me like another family member.
I also have just finally be able to get my wedding ring past my knuckle. I haven't been able to do that until now. I thank you for believing in me while I didn't believe in myself but I am happy to say I am in the game and not giving up this feeling at all. I also just signed up for to run my 5K in Maryland in November this year. I am in training to prepare for it. In closing this is what my why would be other than the common things family and feeling better about myself. I have never put thought of what or how I would put my why. I did not intend for this to be this long but more came out while I was thinking and makes me think of how far I have came from the start.

I lost 20 lbs. on WW in about 2002, gained it back & lost again in 2015. I find it very distasteful to call in for help in tracking certain foods. The majority of the time I am routed to the Philippines where their English skills leave much to be desired. I ask them to slow down their speech as I cannot understand them due to their accents. They are not happy hearing this and insist on speaking too fast. I don't know what they are saying and oftentimes hang up on them. Please have American citizens on the staff of call in contacts. Please also have dine out sources of more than just fast food restaurants. Marie Calendar is a Restaurant I frequent and would like you to add them to your list.

I followed the online program, used the WW app where you can log in your daily food intake and part of the app you can read bar codes on any food label to caluculate your daily points. It makes you accountable of your eating habits and really opens your eyes as to what is good and bad to eat. The freestyle program is great. I called to speak with them about it and the lady on the phone and her supervisor both basically said I was screwed and was signed up through January. They said I could cancel it and not get refunded the money and would not waive the $39.95 cancellation fee. Be careful when dealing with them. They will RIP you off as soon as they get the chance.

I signed up for a free class at the Baptist church chapter to learn about the new Weight Watchers program. I was told I could sit in the class, but they would not let me know about the program or cost unless I signed up for six months. I don't know if it's right for me or not, or if I can afford the program if they don't tell me about it. I left no worse for wear, without attending a class that would be useless and meaningless to me. I would not know what they were talking about without some kind of information. I started WW in January of 2013 and celebrated my fifth anniversary of reaching my goal on October 7, 2018. I have adapted to each change over the years until now. Don't enjoy meetings anymore. This may be a program that is easily understood by younger members, but for me, it is extremely difficult to follow and get behind. The new weekly format is a joke. I used to get a lot out of the weekly and the new one is not inspiring. Now I go because I need to, not because I want to. I used to enjoy attending meetings. As the old saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, Jane. We are so sorry to hear you are not enjoying Freestyle and the recent changes made to WW. Joined last summer and lost some weight but it was a struggle with Freestyle — too many carbs that are ‘free’ — you cannot lose on it like you could on Points Plus. Loved the Sat. morning leader in Plainfield, Indiana — she’s great. Did not like their auto bill or their toll free info line. Called and requested a list of attendance dates for my employer and all they could provide are the dates WITH my weights on it!! I told them my employer just wants to know employees join WW to encourage better health — not our weight! If WW doesn’t understand the sensitivity around this issue, then they won’t get my business again!

WEIGHT WATCHERS WAS HELPFUL IN THAT THEY ALLOWED ME TO ATTEND TWO MEETINGS IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND THE PROGRAM BETTER
Original Review: Oct. 19, 2018
I joined Weight Watchers last week because I had success when I did their program years ago. However, this time around I feel awful. Their new Freestyle program emphasizes high protein and low carbs, much like the Keto diet. Twice within this past week I had moments where my blood sugar went too low and I felt like passing out. Wish they'd offer their other program where every food had points and only veggies were 0 points.

The program is very flexible and even easy to dine out with a few smart changes. I love to be creative and adapt recipes to make healthier. I would highly recommend! To me it is not a diet. It is an educational experience to transform your unhealthy life into a healthy one... Forever! Happily living life!

Everyone loves to win prizes and the new feature to WW adds prizes as an incentive to track the foods you eat. Great idea, I agree. But what I'm about to say won't be popular with WW members. One of the daily goals in WW is to stay within the healthy eating zone. The zone includes a daily point total that hits a range between 10 points below and 5 points above your daily allotment that's based on height and weight. When you complete a day in the healthy eating zone, the day on your WW calendar turns blue. This "blue dot challenge" is a perfect way for WW to have implemented their rewards program that followed their name change to Wellness that Wins.
Instead, WW implemented a reward points system for every meal that is tracked, regardless of whether the daily total is in the healthy eating zone or not. Our Wellness Coach actually told us we could log a glass of water for every meal and get the reward points toward the prizes. Of course, three glasses of water will get the prize points but does not incentivize people to eat healthy. WW already has the healthy eating "blue dot challenge" as part of their meal tracking system but they didn't take advantage of it by pairing it with the goals for rewards. It's a shame because so many members have switched their focus to free prizes instead of making it a practice to eat healthy.

I joined the program on August because it was a discounted plan offered through my employer. I was looking for something that would work with my busy lifestyle. It was working for a little bit, but I found that the Freestyle plan and 23 point a day didn't work for me. I decided to cancel and was immediately offered a free month to give another chance. I took the free month with the option to cancel. I didn't even use the free month and cancelled a few days afterwards. I knew there was an early termination fee to be paid and I was fine with that. I check my account and find that I have been charged a subscription fee for this month. That was not explained when I cancelled online. There was simply the option to cancel and be charged the termination fee.
Customer service rep rcsined today that I'll be charged up until December, unless I cancel again today and then be charged the early termination fee of 64.00, on top of the 44.00 that was just charged to my account and also in September. This adds up to well over the actual cost of the early termination fee. As a first time enrollee, this leaves a very bad taste and I don't think I want to try again with WW or any other weight loss program. I am a previous WW member. Several years ago I lost 55 lbs and proof that the program works. I started to gain weight and thought I should give the program another chance. After attending the first meeting, I was totally turned off by the leader and lack of enthusiasm. I could not wait to leave the meeting. As a new member it took forever to check in, after the meeting I was not given any encouragement as to how to proceed with the new program. I decided to continue the program on my own because I know it works.
Well, shortly after that my family member was diagnosed with a terminal illness and I had to leave my home and family for almost 3 months to care for her. Unfortunately she passed away this month. I contacted WW and was refused to cancel the program and told because it was not me, they could not help me. So I have been donating $44.95 for the last few months and will have to continue to do so until Nov 2018 & If I cancel there is a $64 charge. So if I had passed away, they could have helped my family? Really??
This is the most distasteful and horrible excuse I have ever been given by a company. I will NEVER join this program again and will encourage as many people as I can to join other programs. There was a time that WW was the #1 program. MANY other proven options exist. It was a sad situation to have been involved in and to be further dehumanized was humiliating. Which leaves me confused because I received a intro packet and it has a nice little shopping list but offers no knowledge of what points any foods have and wonder how exactly I am supposed to track points. It was clear at the meeting they were more interested in selling their packaged food than making sure their new clients have the necessary information to succeed. She stated she would look into my complaint and get back to me on this site. It has now been over 2 months and she has not responded and the issue has not been resolved. I joined WW Meetings on 5/1/18 and signed up to received e-mails and since that time I have not received any. I have called, sent e-mails and the problem has not been corrected even though they have made promises that it would be. They have no trouble charging my credit card each month, so I expect to be able to receive all I am entitled to. It has now been over 7 months, I would expect that they would have corrected this matter by now. I would like to be advised that it has been corrected.
Original Review: I joined WW meetings program on May 3, 2018. The beginning of June I started calling and e-mailing the Customer Care Department to report that I hadn't received any newsletter, promotions etc. I was told 2 weeks, then 3 weeks, then 4 weeks to correct this but still the issue wasn't corrected. I then called their corporate office for Complaints the end of August because I felt by that time this issue should have been addressed and corrected. I have called 3 times since then and still the issue has not been corrected. Was told it would take several more weeks to correct the problem.
As my credit card is billed monthly without a problem, receiving newsletters, recipes, promotions etc and being kept in the loop of what is happening at WW, I am paying for and not receiving. Technology is very advanced and this issue should have been corrected months ago. They just seem to be ignoring this situation and that is not right. I have asked to speak with someone that can help me instead of just the representative that answers the phone but that is not possible. They put me on hold and then say they have talked to whoever is in charge and the answer is several more weeks for it to be corrected. But still 4 months have passed and it is still not corrected.

If you are an online user you basically are paying $18.95 monthly for use of the WW app you use on your phone to count points. Why is there a cancellation fee? Why are you asked to sign on for a minimum of six months? Shouldn't it be on a month to month basis to see if it's really a good plan for you? Locking people into six months is criminal. I confirmed at the end it would be cancelled and I would not have to call back in - was told yes! Fast forward 2 months and they are still charging me. I spoke at length to a customer service worker and supervisor only to find out - 1) they had the wrong email address in the system so I couldn’t confirm the cancellation and they wouldn’t tell me where they sent the email and 2) they saw in the system that I called to cancel but they needed the confirmation email; and 3) charged my account this month less than 12 hours ago and I can’t get $ back - they don’t reimburse for non-usage.
It gets better - I told them I wanted to write to the corporate office and I needed the address - they didn’t know it, I asked for a phone number - they didn’t know it, I asked for the name of someone in leadership and finally was able to get Mindy Grossman’s name as CEO. I asked for their information so that I could document to whom I had been speaking and the would only provide first names (Brian and Crystal - in the Philippines with no badge numbers). I love using the scan and online features but I just can’t stick to the program. I would love to have the option of going back to the other plan. Have a choice to choose online which program I want to follow and allow the scanner to work correctly on either program. I like the idea of the program getting you to eat better but it is hard for me to eat the awful plain low-fat yogurt that I need to add sweetener and fruit to. The total calorie count of the yogurt is somewhere between 80 and 100 calories. The low-fat flavored yogurt I was enjoying prior to the new program was 80 but was 2 points. Makes no sense to me. I like ice cream. The ice cream I was eating was 110 calories and was 3 points now when I scan is 6 points. None of this makes sense.
Another example: I used to eat an egg with a piece of toast 3 points out of my day, not much on the old plan. Now I eat two eggs instead miss the taste of bread and for what? My Daughter has a friend that likes the plan because she can eat zero point foods all day and drink beer for her 23 points. She is however disappointed that she is gaining weight. I gained weight after menopause and decided to try WW about 5 years ago. I was on the Points Plus Program and loved it. I lost 25 pounds (which was almost 20% of my total weight) in 3 months. I felt great. I kept the weight off for about 3 years; then gradually gained back about 15 pounds. Went back to WW in August. Now on the Freestyle Program. I have lost a few pounds in a month, but know I won’t maintain this eating style. It is basically like Atkins diet. Even if a food is “good for you”, there still needs to be portion control to really lose weight. I am sick of 0 point things like salad & chicken already. And the 24/7 “help chat” is useless. No one ever gets back to you. I’m hoping I can stop the program after 90 days. Sounds like other members have had issues cancelling. Please bring back Points Plus as an option.

I had starting using WW in the Spring of 2017 with great success! The weight was flying off and it felt easy and was encouraging. Life came around and I changed jobs (among other things) and I took a break. When I came back to get serious on WW again in Dec. 2017 this new "Freestyle" program was pushed out and the ONLY option. It's terrible. I've been trying for 10 months now to be successful and I just can't figure it out. It's not even that I say I'm trying and not really following, I have REALLY followed, bought new groceries, changed everything to follow it with little to no success. It's SO discouraging. It makes me want to quit WW. The old program was the only thing that really worked for me. Can we please have the option of choosing which program we want to follow.
Freestyle promotes "free" or zero point foods but basically they are forcing you to eat certain foods which are foods I don't like or don't normally eat. On the old program I could have pizza and other favorite foods and manage my day/week with it and still lose weight. On Freestyle I don't have enough points to do it anymore. I have so few points now that I'm almost scared to eat! I know, I know, yes, there are more 0 point foods but let's be honest, I didn't eat 12 points worth of chicken or corn or beans everyday. Freestyle is the opposite of what it's named, it's more restrictive and controlling. We don't have as much choice in what we eat and use our points for. The old way we had choice and learned self-control and what foods were really worth-it. Give us back what worked, give us back the old way or let us choose which way is best for us! Freestyle doesn't work for me.

I've always been a fan of Weight Watchers and had success in the past, met my goal, and went about my merry way. Well, then menopause hit and the weight started to come back on! I tried losing that extra weight just by cutting back on fattening foods and paying attention to my portions, and it seemed I was gaining instead of losing! Enter my dear friend, Fawn, who had been battling the same little demons I had been battling. She had recently joined WW on the Freestyle Plan and was having amazing success. She sent me the link and I signed up and started the very next day. I LOVE IT!!! The fact that so many of the lean proteins are free helps me make really great choices, like in the evening when I feel like I MUST have just a little something but I've used my points or have just a couple left.
Having a piece of fruit or a hard-boiled egg with some salsa satisfies that little craving and, in turn, I don't beat myself up or feel guilty because those are excellent choices! I started the program July 2, 2018, and have lost 13 pounds as of today, September 9, 2018! And that's without feeling deprived or feeling like I'm starving! The Freestyle Plan is a great plan that sets me up for success! And what I love most about WW is that it's not a diet, it's a way of life! I don't feel like I can NEVER have something I absolutely love, but instead I'm aware that I just have to plan for it and I can enjoy whatever I want! Kudos to the team who designed the Freestyle Plan! I'm a (skinnier) fan! Please keep up the wonderful work! BTW, my sister just joined after seeing and hearing about my results!

I was a periodic WW member from 1987-2001, but have been a consistent Lifetime member since 2002, having lost 35 lbs and kept it off. I have been frustrated with the Freestyle program primarily because the 0 points foods are typically what I would normally eat under the Smart Points program. Now that those foods are 0 points, I tend to supplement those foods with less desirable foods to use my points, and tend to overeat the 0 point foods. After all, if I could control my portions I wouldn't have a weight problem to begin with. Hence, I am not losing weight and tend to have difficulty maintaining. I would much prefer to have the option of the Smart Points program.
Reluctantly, I now use the iTrackBites app which has a program very similar to Smart Points. This disappoints me because I have been a proud proponent of WW for years. I am still under goal weight 15 years after reaching Lifetime status, but find it more difficult to maintain now. I would think WW would want their Lifetime members to serve as their best advertising. I suspect that the new program does work for persons who need help developing healthier eating habits, but does not work as well for maintenance or for those with less weight to lose.

This is my third time with Weight Watchers. The first time was for my mother who wanted me to lose 20 pounds before she passed away (I hit that goal the day after her death in 2010). However, the depression set in and I gained it all back in about six months. In 2016, I decided to try again. My heart wasn’t really in it. I lost 25 pounds but gave up after my husband and I both lost our jobs. Again, I gained it all back with just a few months due to depression. This time, I’m in the for the long haul. I started in April of this year with a goal to lose 40 pounds. While that’s not a lot to some, it’s huge for me. I want to get back in my wedding gown on our 18th wedding anniversary this Halloween.
This time around has been... well... easy. The Freestyle system gives me so many options, it’s actually fun! My husband even has fun shopping for me (he loves to use my WW app to scan points). Today, I’m only 8 pounds away from my goal. With Halloween still 8 weeks away, I have plenty of times to carefully make it to goal. Thank you, Weight Watchers, for making it so easy (and fun) to be healthy!

Congratulations on being so close to your goal, Amber! We'd love to see you in your wedding gown on your anniversary! Please feel free to share it on our official Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram pages!

I have been truly committed to the process. I calculate my points every day, prepare suggested free foods, make healthier choices and even gave up my wine/martinis. However, my weight loss is going much slower then I expected. Yes, I've lost a pound or two each week... but it's not enough. One week I was off and had some foods that were high in points plus a martini, I didn't exceed my points but that week I remained the same on the scale. At the meeting, the leader tells me I'm doing GREAT! The group also agrees. This kind of feedback keeps me going. I definitely recommend attending meetings.

Initially, I joined Weight Watchers in April of 1974 when I lived in SE Connecticut. The program was dramatically different but I made it work. I did not get to goal but I lost a significant amount of weight and found myself pregnant, so I took a break. I went back to WW losing about 110 but found we were pregnant again. That time I lost of lot of weight during and after pregnancy due to the arrival of twins. Weight Watchers took more time than I had for meetings or anything for a number of years. I have come back to it off and on in 90's and later. It works when I follow it. I think the latest improvements have made the plan a very strong one for me. I like eating lots of vegetables, eat very little fat, and eat very little additional sugar.
However, the plan and the support really help me with portion size control and avoiding breads or starches. I also really like the encouraged peer support over the lecture style that was current in 2011 when I was last a member. The peer support is essential for me to want to continue to pay dues and stay a participant. I love the tracking and watching how the data compares to the results. I wish the My Fitness Pal food database and the WW food database could be combined. They compliment each other well and fill one fills in gaps the other has and vice versa. Thanks so much.

Two stars for the barcode feature and added zero points. Minus two stars because as I signed up for WW I found out that I was signing up through iTunes because I was using my app and got myself into a 12 month subscription that was never indicated on the app. The price was also different than advertised. Minus a star because everything I eat has to be fat free. Fat is good for you! Last but not least, I have been strict to my points and I have lost 1 point in three weeks. Not sure this new program works. I lost weight on the old Weight Watchers.

I have lost probably over 100lbs using Weight Watchers over the years. It works! Every plan of WW I've used, I lost weight. That being said, some of their plans are easier to follow for different people. As a paying member, I believe all plans should be a option to follow. I currently follow the plan previous to the current Freestyle plan. The plan I now follow is called Smart Points Beyond The Scale. I have to do a lot of my own legwork to figure out points because that plan is no longer available through meetings/ leaders / online /app.
Because Weight Watchers switched plans (like they do every couple of years), all of their equipment (scales, calculates & books) are out of date and you have to buy everything all over again to follow their current program. Also, you are hushed and scolded in meetings and online if you voice you're struggling with a new plan or if you are following older plans. We pay WW every week, or month. Shouldn't we be allowed to follow the plan that works best for each person to obtain their healthy and fit lifestyle? I mean why not?

Well I called today August 30 and asked what to do to show my weight loss to receive my 6 months subscription credit and was told I was suppose to fill out a form between May and July, which I was not told about. I was told that I would only receive one month free because I did not submit the form on time, which I was not aware of. Had they told me this I would have submitted at the given time.
They are ripping me off for the other 5 months. It was hard to lose the 10 pounds in the limited time and I am happy I achieved it, but very disappointed by Weight Watchers for not standing by what I was told. Not ADA compliance and Weight Watchers is now asking you to bring your own paper towels to weigh in?? WTF? Today was my first time back at a Weight Watchers meeting in several months. When I arrive to the facility in Palm Springs California the meeting was taking place and I went up to the meet. Weight Watchers associate to check in.
I explained to the Weight Watchers associate that I was ADA handicap and had trouble bending. I ask her for a paper towel so that I can weigh myself and she stated that the facility does no longer supply paper towels. You have to bring your own or towel in order to weigh yourself or you have to be weighed with your shoes on. What purpose is it then to weighing in? She told me that she would allow me to weigh in. That was one more person behind me that was observing. Not once did she take into consideration that I was disable. Very rude and too old to be working there having interaction with clients.
I weighed in and I left the facility and was walking out to my car. She came out and reprimanded me and stated that I cannot weigh in unless I bring my own paper towel or towel to put on the scale. I was so humiliated. On top of being disabled for my ankle I cannot bend down due to an injury on my knee. Not once did she offer to assist me even though I’m handicap. I contacted the corporate office supervisor and I’m really thinking about filing a lawsuit.
Not only was I discriminated. What the hell do they have an ADA symbol if you can’t even get anyone to help and I’m sorry but they collect a lot of money from a lot of different clients every month for them not to be able to supply paper towels. This is the most ridiculous situation I have ever heard of. I’m definitely going to fat follow up with the CEO the highest of supervisors with the formal complaint along with the letter and the letter that they will be receiving from my lawyer. It’ll make them think twice before they treat anyone who is disable the way I was treated today!

My partner is the Director of a very large company of the IT department and he gets annoyed as well. I am sure he would have more specifics for you. But we both agree that it would be nice since we are doing the program together and I do all the cooking, that I should be able to 'share' the meal I entered so he wouldn't have to re-enter all the items I already entered. He just uses the 'quick add' feature but would rather be able to share with each other our meals so we can track better what we are eating.

It is finally time for me to take care of myself. I’ve spent my life raising two children alone all the while working full time and going to college. I found the love of my life at the age 45. We married and we gained some weight. Then my mother got ill with cancer. The stress took its toll in me gaining more weight. I have finally learned I have to take care of myself in order to be my best self. It’s finally my time.

I am new to Weight Watchers. 4 weeks in and I am loving the program. The phone app makes it so easy to make decisions right in the grocery store and seeing the folks at meetings with success is encouraging. I am finding this weight loss thing to be a mind game. My stomach hurt for the first two weeks on it as it adjusted, and it has opened my eyes to how much we are bombarded by food constantly. I find myself always thinking about it. I am now exercising (walking at least 2 miles a day). It's all about the mind. I could find every excuse possible but now it's become a good habit. I feel stronger mentally and physically thru perseverance. This weight is coming off!

I do have to say though, a week ago, there was a change. The stickers for weigh-ins were taken away, and “bravo” stickers were also taken away. I believe that these are both very important pieces to member’s successes and should be reimplemented, or something new, but comparable, should take the place of them.

I love the Smart Point Program and the shared recipes on WW. Connections is a great way to meet others and listen to their stories. I enjoy the interaction and hearing the stories. What I don't like is the lack of communication about the Lifetime program. There should be a written document detailing how to become a Lifetime Member and how to maintain that level of membership. Here's why: I joined online with a coach because I live in the Rocky Mountains. The nearest WW meeting is an hour away from me and it was at 5:30 PM. During the winter months, I do not drive at night due to icy conditions, wildlife, and distracted drivers. So, I joined online with a coach for the first three months.
Through Connections, I started noticing that some members were becoming Lifetime Members. So, I asked my coach about that. Her response was that once someone hits goal, they become a Lifetime Member. Nothing was said about having to do this at an actual meeting and the goal had to be maintained for 6 consecutive weeks. So, when I hit my goal in June of this year, I announced that through Connections. But then WW kept charging me for membership. So, I called in and the customer service rep explained the process. So, now I'm on the monthly plan and attend meetings once a week. I am at goal but have to do the 6 weeks.
While I was registering for the first time, another woman apparently had the same negative experience I had. She too had joined online, reached her goal, was still being charged for WW, and called in to talk to a customer service rep. She, however, was not told that as a Lifetime Member, she still had to weigh in once a month. A quiet argument ensued between this woman and the WW gal. I felt sorry for the WW gal as it wasn't her fault. So, a clear, concise page that explains how the Lifetime Program works would take care of members not understanding the program, and your staff wouldn't be subject to irate customers. I think WW owes this to its members and to its staff.

I love the WW Freestyle program and have seen some success on it (this is my 3rd time joining WW). I believe that this is the easiest of the plans for me, personally, to follow because it allows me more freedom to include fun food on occasion and balance those out with zero points foods... it definitely has made it more like a lifestyle change than a diet. I like the emphasis on REAL foods rather than processed, and less sugar. Be warned, though, that if you switch from Online Only to Meetings (like I did recently), you might get your weight history erased thus erasing your pounds lost! I worked so hard to lose what I have lost so far, so I was really discouraged when that happened. I have had to contact support three times and am still waiting on a resolution to this problem. :( Despite this experience, I do highly recommend the WW program, it will change your life if you give it a chance!

The WW products (snack and food/drink items) are very irresponsible, full of toxins and basically bad news. The app has its ups and downs. Since the latest release, it’s impossible to add items to previous days: although you change the date, it ends up adding it to “today” - very annoying. Lastly, the program is expensive. I “downgraded” to online only (app) because I could no longer justify the monthly price that includes meetings. Even to just use the app, it’s a lot of money every month to just look up points and track them.
One last thing: the meetings are inconsistent. I always went to the one in Coral Gables (Miami), Florida and not once did I get recognized or given anything to celebrate my weight loss. When I was on a trip and decided to go to the meeting in NYC, they told me I had met a milestone and gave me a charm. I asked what it was for and she explained me that we are supposed to get charms for a keychain every time we hit a milestone. That was news to me! The lady then gave me a whole bunch of them as she could see the ones I had missed (5%, 10% etc). Very sad, the ones in Miami obviously don’t care about these small gestures.

I was referred by a friend and didn't get the free month trial, they charged me right away and gave me a free month after that and now won't let me out of the program. I can't even remove my card info from the system. The cancellation policy is not clear when you sign up and even though I explained to the customer service staff that the charges are going to overdraw my account and they don't care. TL;DR, they don't care about you. They will change what they want when they want to, and you either roll with the punches or suck it up. They will not assist you if you are locked into a term for payment, even if you have sudden financial troubles, regardless of the situation. They will employ sneaky renewal practices on your account to try to lock you in before you get a chance to cancel or make a change for that month. They make it impossible to cancel from the app unless you talk to a retention agent, and they tuck the setting away nice and deep on the website.
First problem: The diet changes whenever they decide to change it. You don't get to decide if the plan you have been doing for some time is working for you and keep using it or get to decide that the new program will work better for you- they will change it and you get no say. The new WW freestyle program completely destroyed what was at the time a program that worked for me (SmartPoints), and I was not allowed to use the plan I was using any longer; this resulted in the failure of my diet and caused me to no longer feel able to follow the plan. I was doing wonderfully before and they sabotaged my progress and forced me to start using a competing program as it worked better with my lifestyle and has worked very well ever since.
Second Problem: I had subscribed to a 6-month commitment at $42/month, and I was capable of this at the time. However, unforeseen financial problems came up (one of my pets had extensive medical care and sadly did not make it) and I was left with over $3000 in debt; I was scraping the bottom of the barrel to meet my monthly loan payment and explained my situation to Weight Watchers; they offered a canned apology and proceeded to politely tell me to pound sand. They offered to let me escalate to someone who might be able to help me, so I accepted. The individual called me and after explaining my situation to her, also politely told me "too bad, you signed the agreement".
Screw you, Weight Watchers. I went into my Paypal settings and forcefully terminated the payments; I don't care if I get banned from re-joining, there's plenty of other fish in the sea that work every bit as well or better and cost a quarter of what they are charging. Oh, and lastly, on a month-to-month plan, they will lock you in and renew you for the next month 2 weeks before the end of your current billing cycle. Imagine how irked I and my family members were when we were on month-to-month plans and kept trying to make billing adjustments / change plan types only to keep finding ourselves already locked into our next month before the month was up.
This is all besides the circle-jerk atmosphere (any concerns about the diet get talked over with overwhelming false positivity instead of understanding and constructive work towards making the diet work for you) and the difficulty involved with trying to cancel at all (commitment terms or none, the app is just difficult with letting you leave). All in all, they are a greedy, nasty corporate beast that isn't nearly as friendly or flexible as they purport to be. It's like dealing with a Gym. Hell no. I'm out.

Thank you for reaching out to us, Tyler. You have reached Weight Watchers U.S., and we do not have access to your account or information to assist you with any refunds or canceling your account. I joined WW online for 3 months. I am 6 weeks in and have lost 11 Pounds. The Eating strategy of WW is good. The app is horrible. I will not continue with WW because of this. I double log on MFP and WW. To log on MFP takes 5 minutes in one sitting. To log on WW using the app takes multiple tries and at least 30 minutes of trying throughout the day. The WW app tells me nothing about my overall nutrition - my nutrition has improved since going on WW and I know this because I log on MFP. Trying to make and maintain friendships on WW is much more difficult than using MFP. I got a gamin at the time I started WW and I think that has greatly improved my weight loss as has using Leslie Sansone's walking videos. I have to continue for the 3 month period but will not continue with WW due to above mentioned problems.

I believe there is a "bug" in the Weight Watchers app although I believe it was deliberately designed this way. Every week my daily and weekly points reset. Anytime during the week, I can go back to a specific day in the week and see what I ate and how many daily points I used assuming I did not go over my daily points in which case the daily point total just says 0, not really telling me how many points I used that day. Because had I gone over, it would have used some of my weekly points. However the weekly point display, looking back at a specific previous day in the week shows the total number of weekly points remaining in the week.
So every previous day in the week shows the exact same weekly number - the CURRENT value of the weekly points. It does not display the weekly point total that was current as of the day I am looking at. I called customer service thinking my app was not working correctly and the customer servce people had a hell of a time explaining this cogently. It should be fixed. I would like to know my pattern of usage of weekly points, and only if the weekly total is correct by day would I be able to see that.

I've joined and quit WW many times but because I was being so successful with points plus I promised myself I'd get to goal and lifetime. I was within 6 lbs before it changed to Smart points. You should consider giving people an option.

I joined 7/18 and by 8/5 I had lost 10 pounds. I do not always use my daily points, and have only used weekly points once. I like the online program, because I do not like the meetings. I am motivated by the chance to plan meals and search for new recipes. It is like keeping a diary and you have to be diligent about using it. I lost 50 pounds on the old program 10 years ago and I see a lot of difference in this Freestyle program. So, far it has been very successful.

Congratulations on your weight loss success so far, Clarice! We're so happy to hear you're enjoying your weight loss journey on Freestyle! We wish you continued success!

This has been the easiest plan to follow to lose weight. I have had great success and do not even feel like I am on a diet. I have effortlessly changed my eating habits and only after approximately 2 months I am feeling great and looking forward to feeling even better. I can't believe the results in such a short time, so easy and such a healthy change.

Love the program and love everything about it. Really enjoy my leader in Racine. The thing that bothers me is that you do not provide toweling when standing on the scale. I actually now bring my own toweling so I can stand on the scale without shoes on. A woman who got on the scale in front of me did not use toweling and took her shoes off and the man at the scale did not say a word to her about no bare feet on scale. Seems like there is not consistency. Sorry I guess it is just a pet peeve of mine. I thought no bare feet were allowed on the scale and I also think Weight Watchers SHOULD supply toweling to put on the scale. They do make billions of dollars :).

I don't like Freestyle. For one, it doesn't feel free. It feels like a diet. Two, I don't need WW to help me live a healthier lifestyle. I need it to help me lose weight. What I've learned from WW in the past along with weight loss was balanced. Now, it seems I'm forced to not have choices of the kind of food I want to eat. My points are penalized when I choose what WW doesn't dictate. We need a program that offers choices for how people want to lose weight, not WW telling everyone we've changed the foundation of the program, take it or leave it.
To change the different methods the program is carried out to success is one thing. To change the very foundation of it is another. Maybe you should develop a sister company with the SmartPoints system to allow people to have a choice of how they want to lose weight. I don't mind some artificial ingredients in my food and I want to count my chicken and other foods to have more points. It helped me to lose nearly 50lbs, of which I am steadily gaining back trying to Freestyle. I also don't see where some of the celebrity reps are losing. If another company comes up with a points system where I choose what I want and the total amount of daily points that I receive doesn't feel like starvation, I'm crossing over.

Love the app and the program and have already recommended friends however the app search for foods is very poor with it very difficult to find foods. If searching something, it will take you to a million fast food restaurants and is difficult to find the actual food you have made.

Three years ago I lost 50 lbs on WW Online but dropped program due to Diana cues. I was able to maintain that loss but still not at my goal weight. This time I find myself struggling with freestyle program. I can’t seem to get going on weight loss. I think I figured out why. The amount of calories consumed is also very important to track. Easy to overeat with all free foods available. I am starting a new day today and hope by counting calories in addition to the freestyle program will keep me on right path.

Love the meetings. Sandy is the best leader. She is knowledgeable and makes every meeting fun and enjoyable. The program is very easy to follow and I’m never hungry. I do not feel deprived of any food and I’m losing weight.

It's awesome to hear how much you're enjoying your meetings, Marla! We wish you continued success on your journey, and look forward to seeing you!

My husband and I joined WW online on June 18, 2018. I have lost 10.9# already and my husband almost that much. I’d like to lose another 5 to 10 pounds. I am a former WW leader in Dallas. I lost 30# prior to that. My husband and I are living in Singapore now and there are no WW meetings here so the online Freestyle and Smart Points program has really worked for us here. We love the new program. I’ve always believed in the science of WW and know it’s the best program out there. Now if only they’d expand into Singapore!!

I'm upset about the changes to freestyle. Originally, I was allowed 59 points per day, but now I can only have 46. It is very hard to stay within that limit. I only have a small cafeteria at work and they don't have many zero point options.

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us, Eric. A member of our Resolution Team will reach out to you shortly. We look forward to speaking with you.

This is my second time with Weight Watchers. I've been successful both times. The staff is very supportive and informative. The Weight Watchers app is extremely helpful when going grocery shopping, eating out, and planning meals. The app & going to the weekly meetings give you ideas on recipes and strategies on how to eat healthy no matter where you are or what the occasion.

I am very happy with the new program. I would like to see restaurants menu be more simpler with Red Lobster, it’s a bit confusing. The candies should be sold at meeting and I never see them there, other than that, I am happy and looking forward to meeting goal soon.

I have a long way to go but am at about 20% of my goal. I give myself 6 months to get to goal, no stress. Eating on the WW plan is very easy and enjoyable, no feelings of deprivation. It really is the only way to go, and that's why it's been around, ever evolving, for so long.

I'm enjoying the new Freestyle program and I'm losing weight slowly but surely. The app is easy to use and I like how it links up with my FitBit. I have only one issue and that would be the monthly cost but I'm doing this for my health so for now, it's worth the money.

So far I have found the Weight Watcher app very user-friendly. I have lost 11 1/2 lbs in 4 weeks. I am so happy with this version of Weight Watchers. It’s actually fun. I am encouraged and excited. I highly recommend Weight Watchers. I didn’t think I could find a successful weight loss program but this exceeds my expectations.

With the encouragement of my daughters, I returned to WW using the Freestyle by way of the computer and cellphone apt. I love it. It is so much easier than the going to the meetings, keeping the food logs, etc. The last plan that I was on was Weight Watchers 360 in 2013. Health issues caused me to drop the plan. Needless to say in 5 years I have gained. Since rejoining and using Freestyle I have already lost over 10 pounds and it has been so easy to jump back on the bandwagon. It all make so much sense using the zero points with the experience that I had already with WW. I am 82 and yes I still want to look nice.

Great job on your weight loss success so far on Freestyle, Jeannine! We wish you continued success on your journey!

I became a lifetime member in 1981 but have not maintained my weight for several decades. I love the SmartPoints program and feel like I can attain my goal and maintain for the first time in a very long time. Down 15 lbs in 7 weeks and my clothes are getting baggy. I have a long way to go but feel like the goal is finally attainable.
