I honestly thought that I would never lose weight that I had gained when I took care of my mom when she was ill. I have tried various ways to lose weight for over 5 years, and nothing has worked like this. I have easily lost weight without being hungry. Best decision I have made to try this. I feel that not only will I lose the weight but I can also keep it off.

I did WW a few years ago with my MIL. We both lost weight and did well, enjoyed our meetings. After she got sick and stopped coming, I lost my way for a bit. I quit tracking and eventually stopped coming to meetings. I went off the rails and gained weight. I know WW works, so I came back. Since January 14 I have lost 10.2 lbs, tracked my meals, been active at least 4 days a week and have come to meetings. I have lost weight every week. Every week. Sometimes it's a big loss, sometimes as little as 0.4 lbs, but I'm losing. I'm a believer in WW. It is the easiest plan that lets you eat real foods and lets you figure out what you want to weigh. I love it!

My wife and I started the online WW two weeks ago and we couldn’t be happier! It’s soo easy to keep track of everything on the app and it syncs up easily with my iPhone step counter and her Fitbit to earn the activity points. I’ve lost 9.5 lbs in the first two weeks and am feeling better already! I wish we’d have started sooner but am so glad we didn’t wait any longer!

I have been doing Weight Watchers for 2 months now, and it has completely changed the way I think about meals. This is a diet that is very livable! It’s more than a diet it is a way to change the way one looks at food. I am losing weight slowly, but I am changing my lifestyle. I heard about it from friends and family, and they were right! This is the way to lose weight!

I originally started WW in 2016. Around a month ago I started with the online program a 2nd time. I have done quite well on WW. I've lost over 60 lbs since I've started. I truly enjoy the community for inspiration, support, and new ideas to help. I enjoy being able to eat what I want as long as I remain within the allotted points. The only criticism focuses on the application (android and iOS). The app is not very user friendly. It has a wealth of information but can be difficult to access all of it. The new regulations regarding the connections section has many unhappy or simply leaving WW altogether.

I signed up for the Weight Watchers online program in March 2018. Decided to cancel it so I called in July 2018 to do so. The customer service rep told me it was cancelled but then offered me a “free month” for being a good member. Fast forward to today when I finally realized that all this time they never cancelled it. What they did was give me a free month & basically started a subscription over again.
So now here we are March 2019 & I have been charged $160 for something I wasn’t using because I thought it was canceled! They stated that I was required to call after the free month was over to cancel again! I asked to speak to a supervisor 3 times while on this call & kept being told they were on another call & would basically tell me the same thing. They stated “no refunds” because I never have canceled. It’s very disheartening that they take advantage of good people. I always thought they were a stand up company but they are not. So don’t I repeat DON’T sign up for their services!
What is even more shady is during this time I had some identity theft happen to me so I had to cancel all my credit cards & somehow they accessed my new card! I did not ever give them my new card info because I had no idea I still had a subscription. They have my new card info! Scary how these things happen but they found a way to keep charging me! Disgusting! I work hard for my money to be taken advantage of like that!

Hi WW team! I LOVE your program. It works. WW takes all the guesswork out of the things I tend to overthink most - my weight, and the food and exercise I need for optimum health. I've been vegan for several months, and now that I've added WW as a weight-loss tool to work in conjunction, I've been seeing steady, rapid weight loss - and other kinds of noticeable other health improvements as well. My skin, hair, nails, energy level and sleep habits have all improved.
My only ask is for there to be more vegan recipes and vegan WW-brand foods available. I wanted to buy one of the new WW Peanut Butter Protein Stix or WW Sweet and Salty Nut Bars on Amazon when I saw them on there recently, but I couldn't as they all had dairy ingredients. Please consider giving vegans at least one option, I would definitely buy them. Go Team Vegan+WW! Thanks for listening, Erin.

Thank you for leaving your positive feedback and suggestions with us, Erin. We appreciate you as a dedicated WW member and we are forwarding your request to the appropriate teams for consideration. As we evolve to bring wellness to all, your suggestions are so important to us. Best of luck on your continued success!

I've put on a few stubborn pounds over the years, and finally decided to make a concerted effort to lose them. So, I began researching options. I knew whatever I chose needed to be maintainable the rest of my life. That meant keto, paleo, vegan, meal replacements and other diet methods were out: I hate having any foods on a "forbidden" list. Bread? Cheese? Dessert? Restaurants? Yes, please. And because there are over 200 0-point options, I never ran out of food before I ran out of day. There's always something you can eat when you're hungry! I've lost about 10 pounds so far, with only 2 more to make it to my goal.

I was extremely disappointed in the rebate offer in the January promotion “lose 10 lbs on us”. I did lose the 10 lbs in the first month. After weighing in, I inquired about the rebate and was given an instruction sheet that directed me to the WW website. Because I am vacationing, I had to find someone with a printer so I could obtain the form. I was required to send a photo of proof of weight loss. I had to take a picture and print it. Again requiring me to go to a facility to get that print out. WW has this info which can be obtained through the WW membership number, so all this inconvenience to the member seems quite unfair and unnecessary. I did finally receive an email from WW which was quite criptic. I could not actually tell that my account had been credited or that this email was actually regarding my bonus rebate. My WW rep was only able to tell me which month my account was paid through.

I have found this experience this go round much easier to follow. With all of the zero point foods, I can look to those foods first and then add on to them to fill out my day. Much easier. The rate I am losing is slower than before, but I am older now so I would say I am averaging 1.5 pounds a week. I am happy with that.

I am very happy I decided to join Weight Watchers. I had about 15 lbs to lose and I already l lost 5 in the first month. The first week was really hard, but now It’s not hard at all to stay on track. It’s very easy to adjust my diet so I can eat zero point foods during the week and still enjoy a date night out with my husband. Most of the time I hardly notice that I’m on a diet. It’s much easier when there’s lots of healthy food in the house to choose from. I use the app in the grocery store when I’m buying food. Great program!

While this diet works when you're at home and can prepare food it's very difficult to go to restaurants or social events. Anything that's not veggies, fruit, or zero point protein is so high in points. WW also discriminates against healthy fats such as almonds, avocados, and olive oil.

In January I had a health issue that made me reevaluate my weight situation. I was tired of feeling bloated and carrying more weight than I desired. I have a family member and a friend that were on WW and knew of their positive experience using the WW program. So I decided to explore the WW program and signed up for the digital only version and downloaded the app. Since January 6th I have shed 14 unwanted pounds and counting. I think the best part of the WW approach is that it has given me a way to practically evaluate what I ingest everyday so I am acutely aware of my eating routine. In my case, it has done the trick and I intend on continuing using WW to monitor my eating habits. Thanks WW.

I am a new customer to the app... I have actually gained weight on the program. I joined to support my husband who started again, and had lost weight on the old program. I have talked to multiple people (including him) who were on the plan before...all have said the old program was better... there is no such thing as "free"...plus your points, it all needs to be included in the total points. You get dinged in the program if you don't have enough points per day (wellness points for being in a healthy eating zone). What if all your food is free for the day?
I am stuck with the six month subscription and will not be using the app to track. I was hoping to get away from being a calorie counter, but it is the only way to stay on track for the day. Also, what does WW stand for? Why deviate from what was working? The name changed, but there is no clear identity. My guess is was an attempt to have a connection to someone famous whose last name starts with a W (infrey).

The first time I joined WW I was 27 years old. There was a book, and a journal. Cell phones were for making calls only. I dropped the program after losing 17 pounds because “I could do it myself”. I joined again and again through the years and saw some success but always found tracking and planning hard. I had emotional attachments to food and every excuse in the book on why it “wasn’t for me”. After working on my self esteem and acceptance of me for me, I came back to WW. This time I found an amazing community of people who had the same struggles as me. We have talked about self compassion, movement, and... food. The app makes tracking food extremely easy. The support from the coaches and other members is amazing. This time it’s for life because this is a lifestyle, not a diet.

Last year I tried a couple of times but the program was frustrating and unsuccessful. I really like the one you have online now. I have almost lost all the weight I want to lose and will cancel my subscription at the end of this month. There are many things I like but a few that have been hard to figure out. For instance I have an iPhone and have tried to connect with WW and Apple health. Following directions from your website, didn't work so I sent several messages via Chat and received no response. I have not used all the features, like entering recipes, which is so helpful but time-consuming. Eating out is a challenge and your suggestions are good. Keep up the good work. Losing weight is just not counting points and automatically losing weight. That’s a misconception what Weight Watchers has put out there. That’s not real. Provisions and chat groups should be made for people who are disabled. People who can do less physically and lose weight slower if at all activity need the help to lose weight also and have been excluded from Weight Watchers Online Groups completely. There are NONE, shame on Weight Watchers.

I read over all of the packages that were offered. I only needed the points calculator and phone app. No coaching, no meetings, etc. At the time, there was a clear promotion of the first 6 months free. I wish I would have taken a picture of it. What sounds too good to be true was. My husband was looking through our online checking after having his identity compromised and ran across a charge for 19.95. Neither one of us had any idea what this way. Found out from the bank that it was WW. He called and I was in disbelief that I was getting ripped off! This is supposed to be a credible company that I had such success with in the past and thought so highly of. I called to cancel and was told that it would cost me 39.95 to cancel. Milton told me it was in the fine print.
No wonder this company is losing tens of millions of dollars. I can't think of a better definition of deceptive trade practices. I am not one to write negative reviews for any company but this is just plain theft. As I read through all of the other reviews, it seems everyone else is having the same issue that I am. I sincerely hope someone takes notice of the mess that has been created by "the fine print". What a shame to give Weight Watchers such a horrible reputation...

I just wanted to make a comment about WW as a brand and that is I find it to be unhelpful in inspiring me to lose weight. WW is about making money, that's all. Decades ago they used to focus on the individual not her purse. If you lost weight you didn't pay for the meeting, if you gained or didn't lose, you paid. Now it's about money, not people.

Yesterday I get charged 55 dollars to my credit card. I called and they will not reverse the charged. Said I signed up for auto renewal. That just shows how much they care. Love the emails they send. It is a corporation that takes advantage. I can't afford this charge and they don't care! However they canceled and offered the service for an additional 30 days. I am so upset!

I joined December 29th 2018 and have experienced the most horrendous client satisfaction practices. I recall they automatically deduct your account monthly. However I called yesterday to let them know I'm cancelling, effective immediately. After being told I can't cancel I was offered a free month. I, like the previous review I simply want OUT. I was told, "WE TRIED TO DEDUCT FROM YOUR TODAY, FUNDS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. WE WILL CONTINUE 6 MORE TIMES-EVERY 4 DAYS TO DEDUCT OUR $40." This shady practice is not included in the fine print and my Consul assures me it's unethical in the least.
How is WW getting away with doing business this way? Many years ago I was a member and enjoyed the program. Now I'm on Atkins and doing quite well. I see WW stock took a dive this week. I wonder why. Seems changing your name to WW does not create fair policies, mastering technology or attempts at client retention. I will deny the charge when they try again on Monday 3/4. I'm in agreeance with the woman who suggested they allow the FREE month as a "Cancellation fee of $60".

Biggest rip off ever! I cancelled my account in December. Apparently when I did that online I was given the option to take 2 months free, not sure why I’d agree to that since the new program wasn’t working for me. But they say I did. Checked my email today and I was charged 44.95 for a month. I called and spoke with both customer service and a manager who both refused to refund my money because I was 1 day into the cycle, 1 day. I haven’t used WW or anything associated with it in at least 3 months but they are going to keep my money because they trick their customers into memberships even when they are trying to cancel.
When the manager called me I asked to receive a call the next day because I was putting my child down to sleep. She told me she needed a few minutes. A few minutes? I’m putting my child down to sleep, what don’t you understand about that at 8:30 pm? What a joke. I will NEVER EVER recommend WW or any of its products to anyone and I will forever share this story of the rip off that happened to me to anyone I know whoever mentions WW or their products. Scam artists at their best. What a joke. If I could give 0 stars I would.

WW lost a customer over $$44. I signed up for the 3 month deal. I did not know they did auto renewals and was charged today. I called once I got off work and finished my doctors appointment and they refused to offer me a refund, but I was offered a free month when I went to cancel online!!! I let them know I just wanted to be rid of this, and I did not want a free month! Like if I’m being offered a free month, why not give me my money back!? I canceled my account as that was all the man from customer service could apparently do for me. And his manager called me back and was just as useless with helping me. He was kinda a jerk but the lady was nice, but just clueless to help. I got the runaround when I asked to speak to the supervisor's manager. I was told they close at 9:00 pm central time, well I called at 8:00 pm central time so why can’t someone speak to me!?
I received NO receipt besides that provided on my account saying I was charged. I’m disputing the charge with my bank, but they told me it would take almost 2 weeks to dispute it with them and it would be faster with the vendor (WW). I don’t have a problem going through my bank but honestly this is freaking ridiculous! I could see if this was a week or 2 later. I’m calling on the DAY I was charged for the unknown amount that they essentially HIDE from you and then tell you that because you didn’t know they would charge you and you didn’t call the day before you must pay the amount.
I never even received an email or an app alert other form of communication to tell me that my original subscription had ended and if If I don’t take action I’ll be charged. Okay if you auto renew that’s fine, BUT TELL ME! Like seriously $44 a month to go to a meeting???? Because if you’re charging the $44 for the app that’s ridiculous when you have MyFitnessPal and other fitnesses apps out there that TELL YOU where you are with your goals and such!
And the GAG is if you are smart instead of STEALING $44 from me, if you had let me keep my regular plan/or asked 1. You could’ve kept me on a different plan in my budget so even if I had a $20 plan, in 3 months YOU’VE WON or 2. I would’ve been okay with the $44 charge. but you’d rather take $44 rather than have a LOYAL customer!? Even If you charged me $20 a month after a year that’s $240 YOU'RE literally profiting by like $200 but by doing this you’d have to steal $44 from approx 6 people who all don’t repost you BUT you lose customers. I’m exhausted and disappointed. At the end of my trial I WANTED to stay. I planned on switching to the just app program because I never made the meetings, but this was LAME!

I started using WW 54 years ago! (I'm 68, my mom got me going as a teen.) I truly loved WW once I got the program down. And, if followed, it works. However I'm one of those who converts recipes to WW a lot (have about 50 homemade standards I use, and have calculated and re-calculated to exact points each time the program changed). Here's my issue. WW stayed the same for years, then started this MUCH too frequent habit of changing the program for, what I feel, are mostly PR moves (free press with each new change).
At first I did all the hard work involved in re-calculating all my recipes, my MANY-page personal and detailed 'Frequently Used Points' list, and etc. I got fed up with the changes and have never moved beyond the Points PLUS program, and never will. WW changes the points values on their store-bought products (which mean having to convert all of them too) and WW recipe books change and it is simply much too much. So if you will never create your own paperwork/recipes/etc, then WW could very well be for you. You could start this new Freestyle, yet be prepared. It will change and you will have to re-learn a whole new program.
I feel bad, in some ways, to give a bad review but I, and MANY OTHER, long term loyal followers have finally HAD IT with all the changes. It may bring in new folks, but over time (as I feel is happening now) many more of us loyal long-term folks are saying 'ENOUGH!' and bailing, as we do not feel supported anymore. If I had the money, I would have a cook make all those changes, but I'm on my own.

I also referred a friend which is another free month. Well Feb the free referral was used. I call to see if they received my forms NOTHING. Why does it take 4 weeks for WW to receive an email. Oh it gets better now. They are telling me I still have to pay for March and April which means it’s not really free. Adding the free months on the end I paid for 3 months. I didn’t want to do this program for long. THREE MONTHS NOT 5.
I also referred another person and I sent the invite to a friend. She observed that it was cheaper to go straight to WW site. $13.05 mine was 19.00. REALLY I didn’t get the credit. I am so over this. Instead of concentrating on weight loss we gotta worry about getting ripped off. I have talked with about 5 customer service agents. I really believe a computer responds to our complaints. I can't believe such a well known and used service could offer such a terrible customer experience when you need help. I just called WW's 800 number. I was not able to effectively communicate with the representative who took my call. I received an email from Kohl's regarding a 50% off promotion. In order to use it, the rep said that she would have to cancel my account and I would have to start over again. This doesn't make any sense to me. The promotion also calls for a "starter fee" which I don't think should apply given the fact that I am a current member in good standing for over 6 months. I want to just apply this promotion to my current account, get billed a little less for a period of time and go on with life.
I asked to speak to a supervisor and the rep kept telling me she was going to cancel my account. I told her several times NOT TO CANCEL the account and only get the supervisor on the phone. She informed me that the supervisor is busy on other calls and he can call me at a determined time. I suggested 1 pm eastern and after she supposedly checked with the supervisor about his availability, told me that it is already after 1 pm where she is. I explained that EASTERN time should be enough for the supervisor to decide what time he should call me - I don't know where the call center is located and can only propose a time based on my location. I hope this is a just one rep who slipped through the cracks and that everyone who works for WW not as hard to work with and seemingly ignorant. It shouldn't be this difficult to get a clear and logical answer or helpful assistance from the SUPPORT department.

I signed up for the 3 mos + 1 free. You can’t cancel within 2 months or else you get charged an EARLY TERMINATION FEE. That means you only have one month in which to cancel! I did not know they did auto renewals and was charged at 4 am today. I called 6 hours later and they refused to offer me a refund, but tried to offer me another free month. I let them know I just wanted to be rid of this, and I did not want a free month. If you’re going to offer me a free month, why can you not just give me my refund as it’s an equal value? I’m assuming it is to trick people into parting with even more of their money... I canceled my account as that was all the woman from customer service could apparently do for me.
Given that I received NO receipt besides that provided by my PayPal account and therefore no detailed information about the charging practices I called back to ask for a breakdown of this $44 charge. The man I spoke to was very RUDE. Instead of explaining the charge to me he spoke to me as if I was dumb and walked me through going on the website to read the terms myself! Giving me orders to click through several things.
I disputed the charge on my PayPal account, but this is ridiculous (especially given the MANY complaints) they clearly receive regarding this practice “for your convenience”. I never even received an email or other form of communication to tell me a) my original subscription had ended and if I’d like to sign up for another subscription (because one month is the WORST deal) or b) that I would soon be charged for a one month fee. Literally every other auto renewal I’ve had at least informs the victim (I mean customer...) that the charge would be coming.
Lastly, the customer service center is as all others have said a joke. They virtually cannot help you and fill the call with blabber. There are several voices heard throughout the background and there is some type of communications disconnect between caller and representative for help trying to find a solution. And as I said the second CS rep treated me as if I was a moron which was extremely unappreciated. All these replies from WW say they are contacting the reviewers for a solution... Have any of the reviewers actually received a solution though? 0 stars, will NEVER sign up again. Wish I knew what I know now about this company.

I signed up for 6 months, and knew within a week or so it wasn’t for me. I went online and cancelled. Or so I thought. I got a message when exiting that I could leave it as is until the end of whatever billing cycle we were in would finish. So no changes were to be made, I could use it till whatever date, and then it would be canceled. I found out yesterday that they’ve been billing me for 22.95 each month anyway. The person I spoke to yesterday said there was no record of me cancelling. And first she said my 6 months expires in March and then she said that automatic billing had set in after a certain point (6 months) expired. Sigh!!!
I said that these sort of billing practices are no longer practiced by most reputable organizations (i.e., not cool!), and that as a gesture of good faith they should refund at least part of my money. She seemed to understand what I was saying, and got that it wasn’t cool, but would not offer me any kind of compensation. I had had a long day and didn’t ask for a supervisor, I should have.
Suffice it to say, this is almost like a scam. Automatic billing, difficult to reach people, difficult to get a straight answer, and difficult to cancel? Doesn’t seem like good business practices, and if WW is so great and reputable why would they need to act like this? Brings the whole system into question in my view. I’m pretty unhappy.

Original Review: Feb. 18, 2019
In November, like many others here, I signed up for a 6-month long-term commitment plan with the first month free. When I went to log in and get started, I couldn’t access my account. I tried every password I’ve ever used, and none worked. I emailed customer service. They replied informing me of my username. Still no password. I finally found a change password link, and logged into my account with my new password. It was a free account, asking me to sign up to access the features. I could not use SmartPoints or access any paid features.
I checked emails and there was no email confirming that I had signed up for anything - just an email thanking me for creating an account. Okay, I thought, apparently I just created an account and didn’t actually go through with signing up. Excellent! I didn’t miss out on my free month after all! Then the charges started rolling in. I was charged $20 each for December and for January. I quickly emailed customer service expressing my understandable frustration at having been charged for an account I had no access to. I explained that when I logged in, I had no access to SmartPoints. Since I had derived no benefit, I requested a refund for the 2 months I had not been able to access my account.
A rep responded telling me that I had purchased the 6-month long-term commitment plan and that the monthly charge was $20. She also mentioned that if I cancelled early I would be charged $40. There was no offer of a refund for a wasted two months with no access to the features I was paying for. I replied telling them that I had been unable to access the account mentioned, and asked if I could at least have the $40 refunded to make up for my $40 wasted on months I couldn’t even use.
A different rep responded, with a very similar message, only informing me again that I had subscribed to the 6-month long term commitment plan and would be charged $40 for canceling early. The rep told me they could not waive any cancellation fee, and didn’t even reply to my concern about the $20/month when I had not been able to access the website.
When I responded, I asked that they please provide a refund for my wasted months when I was unable to access my account, and to please cancel my subscription because I did not want to continue to use the service. I couldn’t even access it, anyway. I said that if they did actually charge me $80 for a service I was unable to use, they would never have me as a customer again. They proceeded to charge me the full $80. Unless I receive a refund, I will never use Weight Watchers again.

If you can provide support for WW overcharging, ask for a chargeback to WW. Your Credit Card Company can spend time fighting them and they will remove the charge(s) from your card. In fact, I GAINED 2 pounds!!! I was charged for the first month, that was supposed to be free and when I called to cancel, the first lady who answered the phone, I could not understand so I hung up and called back, hoping that I would get a different person on the phone that I could have an intelligent conversation with.
The second person who answered the phone was no better. I COULDN'T understand her and she couldn't understand me! What I did understand is that I'm going to be charged $40 to cancel! This week I spoke with someone who obviously was reading from a script and knew nothing of the company nor its product. She was not helpful nor personable at all. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in Weight Watchers. Deciding on what program to use, I signed up for Weight Watchers' free trial in August. I actually liked the program and paid for the more expensive subscription of $19.95 per month. In November, a special was received for Weight Watchers Online plus for $13.31. Awesome, I will sign up for the $13.31 for 3 months. I did this all under the SAME account. Life of course got busy for the last two months and to my dismay Weight Watchers has been charging me $19.95 and $13.31 each month.
I called customer service in which they just told me, "You signed up for two plan under the same account." Why, would anyone sign up for the two exact same plan at a different cost under the same amount? Furthermore, why did my Weight Watchers account not show I had two plans and why did they keep charging me the $19.95? This is terrible. I have paid about $100 over the last two months for Weight Watchers. I feel betrayed and cheated by this company.

About four weeks ago, I joined WW at work. The WW’s coach asked if there was anyone who did not have a Smart Phone. I said that I had a cell phone that was not smart. She said I could get the Smart Points online. I went to WW’s website, entered the numbers from my scratch off card, entered a user name and password. WW asked me for a credit card number which I did not enter. I didn’t realize I was required to enter a credit card when I just paid $132.60. The next week, the WW coach said I was required to enter a credit card even though I had already paid in full.
I logged into WW again when I got home from work, but this time I entered my Citibank credit card. WW said the card was invalid three times. Each time I checked the numbers and the numbers were correct. I use this card with no problems at least once a week online. When I contacted Citibank, they said it was the WW website. I emailed WW numerous times with no resolve. Someone from WW would reply to emails, but never replied again. So, here I am four weeks into WW with no access to Smart Points. After reading the other reviews, I do not want to enter a credit card and then get charged again. My resolve is to never join WW again.

I signed up for WW because there was a special over the holidays to try the program for 6 months free. With so many free weight loss apps available, I decided to give WW a try because of this promotion. I like the program and planned to continue WW after the promotion ends but I was charged during the free trial and I was charged for more than the digital version which is what I have and what I selected. I have attempted to work with WW but I keep getting the same form letter from various Representatives saying the same thing. "We are unable to refund your money and that I will be charged a cancellation fee." I am very disappointed that they won't stand behind their offer and program and make this right. If they do I am sure to stay in this program.

My complaint is the same as the others. I enrolled in the 3 month program and never consented to the monthly program after it ended. I was charged in January 8, 2019 and just yesterday too. I called Weight Watchers this morning to cancel and to receive a credit for the 2 months that I was charged. Kevin, the rep said that he couldn’t refund me. In the past I was able to get a refund and so I didn’t understand why the policy change. I also sent an email and received an automatic reply on using a free month redemption. My workplace also already has Weight Watchers. I am deeply disappointed in Weight Watchers. The mission I thought was to help people live a more healthy life, not charge them unknowingly and also not give back a full refund. I will definitely complain to my workplace about Weight Watchers.

I signed up for Weight Watchers, first month free. I got on the Weight Watchers app from my phone to inquire on cancellation. I was looking for answers, would I be charged if I cancelled and if so how much. I followed through the cancel process and when asked if I wanted to submit the form, I chose ‘cancel’. I got online to inquire as well and sent an email then received an email stating if I don’t cancel my next month will be free. I checked my personal email (first email was through work) and saw an email that said I was cancelled and my account was charged. I finally called. And proceeded to receive the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The girl didn’t understand what I was saying and kept telling me there was nothing she could do.
I asked to speak to someone else, a supervisor. She asked me why I would want to do that. She told me no one else would be able to help me. I insisted on speaking with a supervisor, I was told all of them were in a meeting. I’ve worked in a call center and know how they work, they are trained to do what they can to not escalate the call. I was put on hold and then told they were still in the meeting but I would get a callback. I kept telling her I was inquiring on cancellation, I didn’t want to cancel my account. Nothing I can do. Unbelievable. I’m contacting my bank and anyone else I can think of. This is ridiculous. I had a great view of Weight Watchers but after this, I will make sure everyone else knows how much of a scam this business is.

This company is a complete scam! I have been reading reviews for about 20 minutes and not one has been a good review... Although some reviews have 3-4 stars even if the review is a negative one...seems a little fishy to me! I really wish I would have read these reviews before losing my hard earned money! I signed up for what I thought was a "free trial month" only to be told before the end of my so called "free trial" that I had signed up for 6 months (with the first month being "free") at approximately $45 per month after the "free month". I tried Weight Watchers about 20 years ago and had great results... This new plan sucks!
I tried to cancel my subscription online and read they would charge me $65 cancellation fee so, I called and told them that I had only signed up for the 1 month free trial and of course the foreign man on the phone basically told me that I was incorrect in thinking I only signed up for a "free month". He acted as if I were crazy for thinking such a thing! They along with many other scandalous companies deceive the consumer who is unaware of their devious and unethical practices! And by the way Weight Watchers, I know one of your henchmen will write back to me saying that you will have someone follow up with me to resolve this matter. Please don't bother! I am going to inquire about getting an attorney or possibly contact an investigative team from a local news station to look into this matter and make this a more public affair and possibly start a civil lawsuit! Shame on you!!!

In early November 2018 I tried to cancel my subscription to Weight Watchers online. I was offered 2 months for free if I was interested and when I agreed, I was told online to cancel by today (February 6, 2019) to avoid being charged. I even wrote it in my diary to cancel by today. Today when I went to cancel my subscription online, I noticed that I was charged $44.95 yesterday (February 5, 2019). I called the live agent phone number and tried to explain to the agent the situation. She kept telling me that there was no 2 month offer online and then that I did not cancel by January 28, so that is why I was charged yesterday. It does not make any sense that they offer and give a date to cancel by & then charge before that date.
I had difficulty understanding the agent when I was speaking to her. I requested the agent put me through to a manager that could process the issue I was having. The agent continually repeating the same answer, without regard to my explanation, was beyond frustrating. She kept telling me she could cancel my subscription today and then I would not be charged in March. They left me on hold for 5 minutes, saying they were sourcing a manager and then said that all the managers were busy, and then repeated what she had said over and over already.
I had intended to cancel and restart in the spring when I could have my children in care and concentrate on myself, but now I am really disappointed that this is how Weight Watchers conducts their business and fraudulently charges credit cards before the dates they say they will. I would like the $44.95 returned to my credit card, because I don't intend to continue with Weight Watchers. I did not attend any meetings last year and I still paid the monthly fee without any argument. It is fraudulent to offer something and then charge before the agreed date. I am considering contacting my bank to report a fraudulent credit card charge.

WW charged 64.95 to my credit card when the 20.00 fee and first month of 44.95 was free. When I saw this I called WW customer service and received the absolutely worst service or make that no service. I was lied to the first attempt, 2nd, 3rd attempts refused supervisor was told a call back would be made. I never got a callback. After much resistance I got a supervisor who canceled me but sent me to a level 2 who said there was nothing she could do. I am out my money. WW is actually a front for getting your credit card number. I was a fool for thinking this would actually help me. I will be contacting my bank. I want my refund please. Updated on 02/11/2019: This is a follow up to an earlier complaint about Weight Watchers and their practice of automatically renewing unsuspecting customers and stealing money directly from their accounts. After contacting customer service and filing a formal complaint, the company returned a month of what they stole...44.95 out of the 218 that they stole from my account was returned. I am unsatisfied with this result. STAY AWAY from weight watchers! You absolutely should not give them access to your account because they will continue to debit funds from your account long after you complete your initial membership. Untrustworthy and very difficult to get any results from repeated complaints!
Original Review: I signed up for a 3 month plan at a local Weight Watchers location. On viewing my bank statement today, I noticed a charged of 44. I immediately called and got no help. The first lady that I spoke with stated that it is their policy to Immediately renew your membership! Weight Watchers did not have my consent to automatically renew my membership after the 3 month period was up. The lady was foreign and rude. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she stated the supervisor would tell me the same thing. She also refused to give her last name. I hung up and got another person and had the exact same experience. Now I plan to resolve this issue with my bank and make sure weight watchers is totally blocked from my account because they have essentially been stealing from me for 3 months. I am a very busy teacher who 100% regrets any involvement that I had with Weight Watchers!

I signed up for a monthly pass, which was fine. I realized a number of months later that the "chat" doesn't work - and didn't for months. I later tried to get in touch with someone over the phone. I called, was put on hold, waited for long periods of time - then got someone who had no idea about the program. This happened a couple of times.
Ever since, it has been months, I tried to escalate. What didn't they do wrong. I wanted help to change to a different program, and I got conflicting messages no matter who I talked to. Someone said they changed it, I made an appt with coaching, the coach never called me - then it hadn't been changed, then I insisted I change back to the monthly pass. Now, after escalating to resolutions department, the woman passes me all over. To me no one really cares and the point of the matter is that people asking for help, often need support and compassion with these difficult issues of weight and eating, not incompetence and a complete lack of connection.
Just today after they kept saying they checked on their end about the chats, they "informed me" that chats aren't working and haven't for a while. (Why didn't they ever send some kind of correspondence?) Finally, the woman sent me an e-mail to sign up for what she offered me as 2 free months, and it was not explained clearly, and my whole account had been wiped out. It is so clear to me that the level of their help is sub par. It's damaging to someone who would like to get support. It's obvious that this is only a money making organization - unlike some of the free 12 step programs who truly want to help.

They keep telling me to re-sign up, that I never paid, and keep trying to walk me through signing up instead of locating my payment. They then tried to pass the buck to iTunes support who can clearly see I paid when I called and that I should have no problem accessing the app. They then told me I need to call back WW support to gain access. For such a large corporation this is completely unacceptable. How is it that I can prove I paid, have the card I paid on and still no one be able to help me? I’m not even looking for a refund. Although the woman on the phone said she cancelled my account, she would not refund my money. I did not wait a week or a month to request a refund, it was merely hours of the charge hitting my account. When I asked to speak with her manager or supervisor, I immediately got "they are unavailable right now." It took several requests for her to even put me on hold to check, then after several "not availables" the CS rep came back to tell me that her supervisor asked for my information to call me back. When I asked what the supervisor's name, she would not give it to me.
I don't usually care where someone is from (background) but I happened to ask where this customer service department was located, and she said the Philippines. This is concerning because of the way I was being treated, nothing else. She never took my information, but it's all on my account, so I'm not even sure why she was asking for it. I hope to not get charged any further, but I am really hoping that someone can refund my $52. It's absurd that they will charge you and not refund all in the same day. Have been on WW digital plan for about 4-5 mos and decided to cancel the subscription today (I'm no longer on a contract). The billing cycle started today, which means I got charged today. When you cancel online, they offer you a 'free month'. I called to get a refund for the month they JUST charged me, and no, I don't want a free month, I just want a refund (even if prorated, although again, the charge happened today).
The CS rep that is abroad somewhere was awfully trained, very hard to understand (never have had an issue with reps in other countries before, I work with them to solve the issues) and told me they CAN'T issue a refund because I was "on a digital plan that auto-charges" and when I asked for her name, she said "we can't give out personal information". Haven't been able to speak with a supervisor. The excuses for not being able to refund in addition to the 'can't give out name' policy are ridiculous and frankly not something I would expect a company like WW to practice.

I have been told by customer service THERE IS NO WAY TO RECEIVE MY MONEY BACK! Granted it has been a few months, and I should have thoroughly checked my AUTO-PAYS from my account, but there is no way for me to get any money back? Not even the previous month? So, I followed the new program, snacking and making meals using the “zero point” foods, and my weight didn’t budge, and actually went up. I am so mad and I will never work with Weight Watchers again. I should've read all of the reviews on Consumer Affairs as this seems to be a pattern with the company which is a huge disappointment. YOU WILL GET A CALL SERVICE IN INDIA AND IT'S AWFUL!!! I was told in December my membership was cancelled and was assured I would no longer be charged for anything. Then surprise today, January 14th, I was billed again for $49.95. After TWO calls over 30 minutes each and a "supervisor" that I asked repeatedly for and was unavailable (I think they must be fake or a ghost), I was told no one could issue me a refund and that my membership would now be cancelled in February... another month - why would anyone want that? They just said sorry the representative in December misinformed me. A mistake on their part they weren't willing to correct and now I have to choke down $50 when I don't even have money for gas.
One of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had when 1) they don't offer to fix a problem that the company caused and 2) the language barrier and lack of supervisors is ridiculous. I hope to save someone the grief I went through today. I am very unhappy that such a well known company has such terrible service. I think I'm going to cry now.

App is horrible for counting points daily - I purchased a plan and when I started using it, the app logged me out each time. When I tried to log back in, the app said the account is not recognized under my email. When I called customer service, the staff had me trouble shoot with them which took forever and basically told me it was my phone that was the problem. I asked for refund but was given an extension instead and told a refund was not possible. I gave it a try again hoping it was an isolated incident. The very next day the app logged me out and told me my account was not activated. I did not have the tolerance or the time to call back again. Then when my account was charged, I called and complained and asked for a refund. I was told that was not possible because the charge already went through. I even asked for a prorated amount. I really didn't care about the money, this was about a faulty product at this point.
After keeping me on the phone for 37 minutes, I was told that they would waive the early termination fee and give me a 1 month extension but not give me a refund. What kind of customer service is this??? I asked the staff, point blank, "Do you not refund money for a faulty product?" I then demanded to speak to a supervisor and told no one was available. The worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life! Never again would I waste my money on this company.

Let me start by saying WW, like any other diet that you actually follow, does work. I have been a member for 35 years (achieved Lifetime status then backslid.) It is fairly easy to lose the weight, not so easy to keep it off. My problem with WW is that I joined in January 2018 for 6 months with the promise that if I lost 10 pounds in 2 months then would get 2 months free. I lost 20 pounds in 2 months but never got my 2 free months. When I asked about the 2 free months during this conversation, the rep said that I should have received a form when I signed up and when I lost the weight I should have brought it back in. I don't remember getting any form.
Apparently it is now too late to get the 2 free months or refund. I quit going to the meetings and did not use the online tools. After my six months I started being billed $44.95 a month. I should have canceled but I thought I might go back. My billing date was the 24th and my start date the 10th. Weight Watchers always bills a couple of weeks before your monthly date. I called today to cancel and was told that my bill date changed when they became WW and my bill date was now the 10th and the $44.95 was just taken out of my account for this month.
I asked for a refund for this month as it was just the 12th and I did not know my date had changed. The rep told me that it is not their policy to give refunds after the month started. I asked her to contact her supervisor and explain that I am a 30+ year member, and it was only the 12th and they can obviously see I had not used any part of the program in 8 months. She said the supervisor said no to the refund. I will say that when I first joined years ago, if I missed a meeting, I got a note from my Leader saying I was missed. Gone are the days where there was a personal touch. It is strictly business and all about the money with WW.
As far as Technology has come, WW should keep up with your weight loss (and they do) and give you the 2 free months or refund that they promise and you deserve. They put the burden on their customer to keep up with a piece of paper to fill out and return. I would venture to say there are a lot of people who do not get their 2 free months/refund. This long term customer will not be returning. WW has become too impersonal and all about the money.

Called to cancel my pass because the three months are up. I was on the phone with a guy named Red. I was on the phone for over 34 mins. He could not get what I was wanting to do. I had to say over and over that I wanted to cancel my monthly pass. I asked for a manager 3 times and each time I was put on hold and then he would come back and say no one was available. He would not even give me a name of anyone to speak with. It was a very frustrating experience. I was able to go online and cancel my membership. However as I tried to explain to Red my monthly pass was taken out of my account this morning and no way would he refund my money. I do not think it is fair to keep my money when my monthly pass was canceled. Thank you.

I went to a meeting and signed back up for a 3 month subscription of online and meetings. I paid the WW rep, she walked me through the setup on the app. It took my payment a second time. She said there was nothing she could do and to contact the chat in app to resolve it. Three chat sessions of explaining the issue over and over, told nothing they could do, being transferred to billing and being disconnected all 3 times, I was told to call billing in the morning. Again nothing they could do, for me to contact iTunes for my refund. So now I’m fighting with iTunes for my money. I asked WW for a callback and although I had given my registration number before, she needs it to set up a new account and tells me I’ll have to start all over setting up the app and tracking my meals. This has been very time consuming and frustrating. I wanted to lose weight, not money and time and my enthusiasm and faith is gone.

I signed up with Weight Watchers' online service in March of last year. I decided within days that I did not want the service after all. I went online and cancelled my subscription. Today, Jan 9, 2019 I saw on my year end summary of my credit card that I have been billed $19.95 every month ($199.50) since last March for the subscription. I had no idea that I still had a subscription, have received no emails, no newsletters, nothing from WW this entire past year that would lead me to conclude my subscription had not been cancelled.
I called customer service immediately and I have now been on the phone almost two hours requesting a refund of which they refuse to issue. They have basically communicated to me that it's not their problem if WW website does not process cancellations correctly. I have always thought of WW as a timeless, reliable organization that takes care of is customers and wants the best for them. Not the case. One of the 3 representatives I spoke with was patronizing and rude. One I could hardly understand because their accent was so strong. It came to my attention after signing up my wife for a 3 month bundle plan that after it ran out WW kept charging her a monthly fee. She only used the plan for a month and never went back. I called to cancel the 3 month plan and was told there would be a fee. I said, "Fine. Let it run out then that's it, DON"T renew it," and left it at that. Come to find out they had been charging her for a monthly fee that was never authorized for 10 months. Called customer service and it took 30 mins. for the Rep to figure out half of what I was telling her. Being repeatedly put on hold, she finally canceled the account and told me because it was contract to renew (which was not authorized by me) that there would be no refund of unauthorized funds. I have also canceled my membership as well because of this and will advise everyone else to do the same. I will never use WW again.

I'm more than extremely disappointed with Weight Watchers Online Program. I used it for 1 day and lost $19.95. There are no refunds or personal contacts when you cancel. They are only about getting money. The online program, for myself was terrible. There is so little information about how to use the program online. At least I found it extremely difficult. One my cell phone, I had to turn off the phone in order to get the back to the main Weight Watchers site. It's like they want the money, but is so afraid to give you the entire information to utilize what you paid for.
They offered me two free months of online service, however, if you can't get all the information about the program, what's the point. I loss $19.95, which is my loss and Weight Watchers gain. There should be a way to retrieve some sort of a refund if the service is used only one day. I CANNOT RECOMMEND WEIGHT WATCHERS ONLINE! No customer service! I expected at least someone from this company to email me to see what the problem was. I expected not just an "I'm sorry to see you go," and to fill out their questionnaire as to why you're cancelling after only one day.

We are so sorry to hear of your disappointment in WW, Linda. Please know it is never our goal to upset you. A member of our Resolution Team will reach out to you privately. We do hope to speak with you further.

I have been a loyal WW member for THREE years. I have spent thousand of dollars on their products and, I like their program, but God help you if you have to update your credit card. I have spent 8 days emailing and talking to their support line, being told over and over again that the error must be on my end, only to find out today that this isn't true and there is in fact some widespread problem with people logging into the app on their phones. Their service people read from a script and it takes a lot to get them to find a new answer to your problem.
Last week, I was unable to attend my meeting or whatever it's called now because their computer also did not recognize me (after 3 years). I had to pay again and now am being double charged and still am not able to access their app, accumulate their "wins" or any of that or, most importantly, attend meetings. Even though I know the staff and have seen them weekly for Three YEARS I'm over you WW. Run, don't walk away from this program.

When joining Weight Watchers at work, paid by check and membership included 'online tools'. They required a credit card as well. What I didn't know is that LONG after my at work membership ended (and there was in fact no more Weight Watchers offered at my office), they billed my credit card repeatedly for $19.98/month supposedly for online tools. I never used the app (and never even logged in or even had the app on my phone) since 2017. My husband pays the bills and didn't notice. Called and asked to cancel and requested a refund since they never had my permission to charge me. Nothing. Still seeing it on my bill many months later, I called back, and lo and behold magically no record of my previous call and cancellation. They REFUSED to even credit me the partial month from my last billing. Would NEVER EVER do business with this company again.

On October 5, 2017 (Weight Watchers has it as 10/4/2017), I subscribed to the online subscription of Weight Watchers for $19.95. On December 7, 2017, I canceled. When a customer logs into the account and under your credentials, Weight Watchers conveniently doesn't provide the date when a customer cancels. Due to being meticulous, I documented when I subscribed and canceled. My cancellation coincides with the fact that they didn't charge me in January of 2018. Yet, starting in February of 2018, Weight Watchers without my permission and unbeknownst to me began billing again.
I had no idea my card was being charged $19.95 since that time. I only became aware of the charges when I noticed an unfamiliar charge on my card (December 4, 2018), which prompted me to call my bank and investigate. My findings rendered me surprised and livid. After gathering information, I contacted Weight Watchers and I was told billing automatically renewed after three months, which didn't make sense due to me canceling. I told Weight Watchers that I would call my bank to dispute the charges and they told me to do so. They then told me the account is canceled, which is misleading since I canceled in 2017. This is deceptive business practices and very disappointing for a so called "Reputable" company. A total of $$219.45 fleeced.

DO NOT USE WEIGHT WATCHERS. Philippines' call center that won't allow you to speak to a supervisor or contact a US Based call center. I don't even think they have a US HQ anymore. Account was inactivated 2 years ago and they refuse to "close" it. That means a hacker can sign onto your account and reactivate it. It also means that they have access to your personal info. They are skewing their member participation numbers with the number of accounts.
The call center is not interested in call resolution- just numbers of call-ins and the third time I called, I was placed on hold for 27 mins before disconnected. ALL I WANT IS THE ACCOUNT CLOSED. The call center will lie to you and tell you that the account is closed but it is not. I was able to sign on. Do not be fooled. DON'T SIGN UP- THEY WILL HAVE YOUR INFO AND DO WHATEVER WITH IT. Please take care when first starting this diet. I used to be a member of WW in the past and decided to try again recently. The program has changed drastically--if you add up the average number of points given (I had around 23 daily), it only adds up to roughly 800 calories per day. I followed the diet roughly for a week and ended up with ketoacidosis. I do have health problems so perhaps this will not happen to everyone, but I just want to encourage members to listen to their own bodies and understand that this diet will NOT work for everyone and that essentially it is a VERY LOW CALORIE and LOW CARB diet: this combination, at least in some people, can cause very severe and even life-threatening health issues. No amount of weight loss is worth our lives.

I recently joined, and even more recently quit, Weight Watchers. I purchased a three month trial of studio plus digital as I felt I could best benefit from real community connections. I was very disappointed. First, the meetings have almost nothing to do with weight loss strategies other than reminding clients to use the app. They are basically group therapy sessions led by unlicensed counselors that incorporate elements of Alcoholics Anonymous while pushing WW products. At all the sessions I attended I felt that the goal was to create permanent dependency (and long term revenue) by emphasizing the need to keep coming to meetings even after achieving the desired loss of weight.
Tracking what you eat by points teaches nothing about nutrition, and leads to classic 'weight games' as clients are taught how to stockpile points for special meals and to fill up on zero point foods throughout the day. But even lean meats and plain veggies aren't good for you when eaten to excess, and healthy eating habits can't be created by constantly checking an app on your phone. The Team Leaders tended to be patronizing and it was hard to find one that stayed on topic while providing positive encouragement. I had one woman try to shame me in front of the group for not agreeing with a negative statement she made about how I felt. Another woman spent almost the entire meeting discussing everything but WW - YouTube, how to use a smartphone cursor, promoting a member's business followed by a story about her grandma's ring.
A third leader spent the first ten minutes of her meeting selling WW merchandise, including wine glasses. Unless you elect to not receive communications, you can expect daily emails about all things WW, as well as messages from individual team leaders about meetings you missed. And trying to cancel a membership is worse than pulling teeth. You can expect to be double-talked into not canceling, and when I called they would not cancel as of that day so as to not have to issue any sort of a refund. In fact, because it was during my promo membership, I was charged an additional fee. So think long and hard about what it is you want from this for-profit weight loss company before you join.
