My husband pre purchased three months of Weight Watchers as a Christmas gift. After Christmas I went in my local WW to get started. I was told that because I didn’t activate my membership in 7 days My prepaid membership was not valid. The leader helping me and I both called WW office to try to fix the problem. I had to give to person at the main WW office my credit card number, why, it’s already paid for. It’s already hard enough just getting there and staying for the meetings—this made me want to run and never come back. All the leaders at the Woodruff rd Greenville, SC location are fabulous.

I've tried Weight Watchers several times over the last 15 years, with varying levels of success depending on how the program worked at the time. I wasn't really interested in trying it again, until I was sucked into the convincing marketing that was Ms. Oprah Winfrey. I wanted to lose weight before my upcoming wedding and I thought, "Okay, Oprah. I'll give this Freestyle thing a try. If I can manage to lose 10 pounds in the next 4 months, I'll be happy."
Wow! This program works so well for me! I do the online only version of the program and log my points via the app on my Android phone. Tracking points has always been my biggest hurdle with the past programs. I LOVE that there are now over 200 foods that are 0 points and don't need to be tracked. This has benefited me in 2 ways - 1. I'm more apt to track the foods that cost points because the whole process isn't as cumbersome and 2. There are days when I have eaten more points early on than I anticipated, but I can ALWAYS find something to eat if I've run out of points and I'm hungry. I don't feel like I'm on a diet--I feel like I have made the decision to eat better.
Eating out is tons easier too! If you are a person whose diet is heavy on grains (bread, rice, cereal, pasta, etc.) I think you will have a hard time with this program. But, if you focus on lean proteins, fruits and veggies, with smaller portions of grains, I think you'll rock this program. I've been on it for 4 weeks and have lost just shy of 10 pounds - just by eating better. I'm over the moon!

I love WW! It has really helped that since Oprah came along the program focuses on the whole person. This really is a lifestyle not a diet, and I love that focus! The app is great, and Connect is very helpful and such a support outside the meeting room! My only complaint is that the app no longer allows us to track our water intake. Most other apps, like Fitness Pal or even Fitbit allow you to track your water or fluid intake. I’d love to see that feature return!

I joined WW at Work in 2010 and lost 19 lbs. in 9 weeks. I loved the program and have always highly recommended it to friends. I had gained 1/2 of my weight loss back so decided to join WW again. I have been on the Freestyle plan for 4 weeks & only lost a couple of lbs. I have never used all of my weekly points. There are too many 0 pt. items on the new plan, which is misleading. I prefer the old plan. Also, we do not have a representative in Hopkinsville. My work wants to start another WW at Work group but was told by WW that they did not have a representative for us. This is unfortunate as we have over 60 individuals who would like to participate.

We would love the opportunity to speak with you further regarding your experience with Freestyle, Amy. We will reach out to you privately.

I’m addicted to food, it’s totally a mind game I’m dealing with here. While the program offers food and recipes along with a point system, I can see how it should be successful. I’m also single, so I’m doing this alone, and the recipes you offer have multiple servings, which makes it harder... I didn’t note the limited recipes for one selection.

The chat feature is disappointing. Half the time they don't respond. When they do it often feels like a canned response that doesn't answer my question. Also you need to have message boards where you can ask questions on different topics and for advice. Connect is just pics and "you can do it" "You look amazing". Couldn't get any help with how to stay on plan on my vacation from either chat or connect.

We greatly apologize to hear about your experience with our 24/7 chat service and Connect, Sandra. A representative will reach out to you to discuss this with you further.

I really really want to lose weight. Tried it before and did really good. I'm overweight for a few reason but the main one is I like the wrong foods. Before I could still have some of what I liked and added in health meals. It was great and because you still could have the foods you love but in moderation. You never felt deprived. Now Freestyle. OMG I'm starving, I feel deprived and constantly think about what I like and can't have. I look for meal ideas and recipes and have not seen one that looks appetizing to me. What have you done. This is so upsetting. This isn't even a new diet. This is how healthy people eat.
News flash we could have done this before if we had wanted too and had enough willpower but most of us don't so needed the good and the bad to make it a lifestyle change. This is way too restricted. Why did you change what is working for so so many? Got to go now and chew on a lettuce leaf for a snack as I have no points left as I had ketchup with supper!

We are sorry to hear you are not enjoying Freestyle, Samara. Our Resolution Team will reach out to you privately to discuss this further.

I paid for the online coaching plan. A big part of the plan (and fee) is access to coaches from your phone through the app. I continue to have a problem accessing the coaching feature. I have reported it no less than 7 times and have yet to receive a resolution. Each customer service rep hands me off. There is no documentation of the issue that I have reported, complete with screenshots, etc. Days, well almost 2 weeks passed before any follow-up despite my coach "escalating" the issue and now someone is asking for my password to "investigate" the issue. I have NEVER had a legitimate IT person ask for my own password to investigate an IT issue.

We apologize for your experience and we would love the opportunity to speak with you regarding your frustration with your Coaching feature in your app, April. A member of our Resolution Team will reach out to you shortly.

I had SO MANY problems getting the phone app set up, was on the phone for an HOUR with a rep who was so kind and helpful, even SHE was flummoxed. Almost quit and got a refund before I started. FREESTYLE was what I called "Oprah's ALL-YOU-CAN EAT" plan, but IT ROCKS!!! Friends made bets. What a joke it sounded like, and I'm getting $$$... Four weeks on, -8.4 lbs, and feel like I'm eating like a normal person again. Great recipes. Connect is the best--so many encouraging stories and a daily must-read. Feeling not deprived, not starved, and after numerous lost/gained tries at WW (lost 75 lbs once!), actually think, almost believe this time, age 64, it's gonna work for GOOD. FREESTYLE IS AWESOME!

During the last two years, I've watched my weight creep up. As a 5'1 small framed woman, I was carrying about 10-12 pounds too many. That may not seem difficult to lose, but it certainly has been especially since I hit menopause. Because of Weight Watchers, I am eating more fruits and vegetables, less carbs and sugar, yet not depriving myself of any food group. My weight loss progress has been slow; however, I feel satisfied (more ways than one) with what I'm feeding my body. I love all of the zero pts. food, and I have enjoyed being part of the Connect community. Weight Watchers has made me accountable... hopefully my new normal.

WW has been in and out of my life for years. This time was different. My mind shifted and I’m in it for the long haul. I’ve lost 30+ (The most I have ever lost with the plan) and have 20 more to go, but Freestyle is not working. I gave it a month and would gain and lose and gain and lose... so just maintaining. I joined WW again because I struggle with what I call “food freedom”. I need structure while I’m losing. I’m not at a point to maintain my weight I still have to lose. I’m disappointed in Freestyle and I liked the structure of The plan before. I wish there was an option for people to choose which plan they want to use. I went back to the SP and lost 2.6... huge! Freestyle does not work for me. I’m starting to lose motivation trying to figure out what to do.

I have been on the Weight Watcher's eating plan for one month. At week three I had lost 9.4 pounds. In those three weeks I had to eat out 4 times for special functions. It is so easy to stay on plan. I checked out the restaurants before I went. On those restaurants or functions where I couldn't plan, I ate what I could when it was served and left the rest. I was a chocoholic and have not had chocolate except for the Weight Watcher Protein stick and Chocolate Pretzel sticks. I went to a birthday party and didn't eat cake or ice cream. I don't crave sweets anymore. I love this plan. I think it's the best one they have ever presented and I would recommend anyone who wants to get healthy to join. I have been seeing a gastroenterologist for a year and they couldn't find anything wrong. Since I've been on this plan, I am cured. I have not had one episode of digestive problems. I am on it for life now. I feel great and I am 80 years old.

I started my path to feeling healthy on December 31, 2017. It has been such a great experience using the Weight Watcher’s mobile App. I have lost 9 pounds in a month. I would like to lose 5 more pounds. Being 5’2" inches, every pound is like 10 pounds each. I feel healthy at 125 pounds. The app is so easy to use, and definitely everything I eat is logged in to my day! I love the Freestyle method because almost all veggies and fruits are virtually zero points! A lot of my friends are on these cleanses, but Weight Watchers is something you can do for a lifetime!

Easier to use the new 0 points system without measuring fruits and proteins like I had to in the past (about 15 years ago). I am not starving hungry which is a great benefit. Specifically, is there a lifetime membership and is it really ok to use the weekly bank.

In that process, I gained some extra weight and was upset with myself. I made the decision to obtain a WW app to lose those unwanted pounds. I started on January 12th. I have lost over 4 lbs and very pleased. WW is an amazing program.

This is my third time joining WW. My first 2 weeks were very successful with an 8 1/2 lb loss. However I hit a wall after that. I realized that when taking into consideration a moderate intake of zero pt foods and my daily points, I was consuming around 2000 cal. I started using MyFitnessPal app limiting my cal intake to 1300. In one day I lost an additional 2 lbs. I know a lot of people don’t like to track but I’m a super tracker, needing to be responsible for everything I consume. I don’t understand how this new program can be successful in the long run. It gives too much freedom to eat. Some fish, beans and fruit are quite caloric! I’ll still get weighed in but basically I’m counting calories and not points.

It is about learning many new things, about food, self worth & esteem, making new friends. For me, I am doing just the online version. Being able to have Connect has been a wonderful experience for me. I truly enjoy the ability to share in our journeys together and be able to encourage others as well.

If I do make it to "the big city" I have always found the meeting encouraging and practical. Having attended my first WW meeting in 1966 I find the current program much easier to follow and not guilt inducing. The recommendations are sane, realistic and adaptable to anyone's nutritional needs. It is even more uncomplicated than last year's program. I'm glad that there is more emphasis on the psychological aspects of an individual's relationship to food.

I lost 40 pounds on Weight Watchers 10 years ago and maintained my weight until I had a baby in November. I loved the program because it didn't cut out any food group and it taught portion control. It felt like a plan that one could stick with forever. I was excited to rejoin Weight Watchers to lose my baby weight. I've been on it for about a month and I'm sad to say I hate it. Although I love cooking, as a working single mom I have hardly any time for cooking and food prep. I now have to rely on convenience foods like lean cuisine or Sargento Balanced Bites and those foods are so high in points that I'm starving all day.
I understand that Weight Watchers is trying to make us healthy with the new Freestyle program but the original allure of Weight Watchers was to eat anything and watch your portions. I feel you are now severely punished for eating carbs or a convenience food. Sure I may lose weight but it's equally important to me to keep it off. I don't feel this is a diet I can stick with for years. I'm upset that I signed up for 6 months. If I wanted a diet where I eat no or few carbs I would have picked South Beach or Atkins. I'm sure this diet works great for some people; for me it takes away the things I loved about the old Weight Watchers - flexibility, portion control, and a way to stop yo-yo dieting.

I am a newbie. Wife is a lifer so I thought I would do it with her. I am a techie guy and the App hooked me from the get go! Informative, easy to learn and easy to use. I have used the live chat for questions and on two occasions the connection timed out while the person on the other end was preparing her answer and we were cut off. No way at that point to reconnect with that person and all dialog is lost. Would be nice if there was a way for the content to be saved so you could reconnect with the conversation or for the help person to connect back to you if the connection is interrupted.
Otherwise... love the program. I cook a lot and I enjoy the challenge... and, the best part... in it for a month of solid commitment and I am down 15 pounds. My wife is down as well. After graduation, I had big plans to pursue a scholarship in SC, but unfortunately plans fell through, which led me to depression. That is not when I gained the weight, though. I started working a full time desk job at 19 and fro, there, the weight started piling on faster than I could keep track. I ate poorly, I wasn’t cooking my own meals and I had forgotten to take care of my health. Only I am responsible for my weight gain. In one year, I put on 60 lbs and was at my heaviest of 225 lbs.
My mom gave to me for Xmas a 3 month membership to Weight Watchers and she is currently enrolled with me. Since starting in January 2018, I have lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks and I absolutely notice a difference in my energy and attitude. I am overly joyed with how well this program is working for me, I absolutely feel accountable every time I go weigh in and that helps me for than anything because that generates motivation - the thing I lacked most this past year before the program.

I am losing weight, but I don't feel that I got a good start or was fully supported. The program was not fully explained. I still don't really understand what constitutes "smart points". Are there different kinds of points? One place says to record only one type of points. Also, our leaders are not good about congratulations. I have not been recognized for two--5 lbs and 4 wks. I don't care to be pointed out, so I didn't speak up, but others did. Program assumes too much that all are familiar with technology, or even have it available to them. It was not explained to me how the "free first 10" works; just handed a sticker like "figure it out yourself". I think they are in too big of a rush.

One of my favorites is the recipe for a vegetable omelette. I do hope that as I get more familiar with this app and the program, I will see more recipes that are tasty and low in points.

I’ve had so much success with Weight Watchers over the years! Lost 124 pounds and counting. The new program is amazing! With the old program I would have problems getting full and occasionally have fainting spells. No more with the new program! I can eat good, stay healthy, lose weight and even improve my health! I recommend Weight Watchers to everyone I talk to and even gotten a few to join!

Wow, Katherine! Congrats on 124 lbs lost, you are an inspiration! We truly appreciate you for recommending Weight Watchers to others and we are happy to hear Freestyle is working great for you. Thank you for taking the time to leave your review and best of luck on your continued success!

Weight Watchers works if you do it and follow your points. Weight Watchers needs to explain more about FreeStyle points as there is much confusion in the online community. Example, eating a huge amount of Free Points will most likely end up adding weight. They need to put portion control limits on Free Points. It's a great program that works.

I actually love Weight Watchers and feel it is the best help for those of us who struggle with food obsession and overeating. It provides easy and convenient tracking tools online. I have personally tried diets, pills, and 12 step programs and after many decades finally realize that this WW program fundamentally covers all options, emotional and physical. I believe it is my opportunity to become disciplined and make healthy choices as a lifestyle. My struggle with food is by far my biggest struggle in my life. I intend to stick with Weight Watchers and persist with my life lesson to have a healthy relationship with food. I am new again to the WW program, therefore I have not reached the jubilant state of mind that the leader demonstrates. I actually find it annoying, although someday I may feel happy, joyous and free as she does. Learning and growing as a person is my lifestyle, so I will keep tracking!!!

I am a lifetime member coming back. My first go around was at Weight Watchers camp in Beloit Wisconsin. I spent my 21st birthday at camp with my “Weight Watcher’s Family”. It taught me how to eat right as well as the importance of exercise and loving oneself. I kept that weight off for 20 years, rebooting every so often to lose the few pounds I had gained every now and then.
After my third pregnancy, the loss of my mother, and busy raising three children, I had a difficult time following the program and walked away from the game. My youngest is now 16, and I am waking up from a deep sleep of unconscious eating. I have to say, this is the easiest program I have ever had to follow. It is the most livable. It allows one the room to shape it into what works for you. The technical tools are amazing as well as my fantastic leader and all the friends I have in the class. The grocery stores now have amazing products at your disposal to make the program easy to follow. I have resigned to the fact that it will take time but that’s ok because this is the way everyone should eat... healthy.

I was eating 1200 calories and exercising religiously and nothing could get that 20 pounds off that I had gained. I tried Weight Watchers because why not? Nothing else was working. Sure enough, I’ve lost 11 pounds in the first month, and I’m feeling great. I have rejoined Weight Watchers about a dozen times. I have had some success but never reached goal. I am a bit of a rebel and the tracking of every little morsel would eventually cause the rebellion from within. The new program has enough densely nutritious zero point foods that I may have a day where I only have to track 3 or 4 times. The only other time I felt this free with WW was the core program. My weight loss was small but consistent and my sense of wellness was enhanced. The WW points system has always filled me with a low level sense of dread. Some time after lunch I would see how many points I had left for dinner and the long, long evening ahead. And there was always fear. Fear I would fail once again, fear that hunger would overwhelm my resolve and a really great day would dissolve into a monumental evening binge. And I had every reason to feel fear because I failed more often than I succeeded.
It was hard to stick with WW because it felt like every evening loomed over me like an over expectant boss. When I saw the list of zero point foods in the new Freestyle program, I had the most profound sense that I could make this program work for me. I could actually make a filling and very nutritious meal that was low points or even zero points. That was impossible under the old plan because let’s face it, sugar free jello has never filled anyone. And for me personally, it is an abomination. My evenings are no longer threatened by the thought that all I am allowed are sugar free food-like items, a stalk of celery, and a piece of fruit. I can actually feel full and nourished! And now I have more successes than failures through those long, long evenings. I guess I am becoming more than full, I am fulfilled.

I felt like the Freestyle program was not explained or advertised correctly. My interpretation was that if the items are zero points you could eat them as often as you like because they were zero points. In actuality there's a limit on these items as well. I really think it should be better explained to customers. I thought I could eat as much fruit as I wanted because of the zero point thing but then I was told by the representative that I need to watch the fruit. In my mind which one is it? I can eat as much of the freestyle items or I can't. I only loss 1 pound in 2 weeks and that could have been different if the program was properly explained.
I was a member of WW years ago and I stopped for similar reasons. When the program isn't working for a person you guys can't pinpoint why it's not so the person is confused and doesn't know what to do to make it work. Try this or try that isn't a good answer for someone struggling with their weight. So this time it was maybe stop eating so much fruit and then they also questioned how many eggs I was eating. Again false advertisement with the Freestyle program. It lists eggs as a zero point product.

The only negative I have about Weight Watchers is the point values of food in the app. There are entries from numerous people that have assigned different values for the same food (eg: Pace Picante Sauce). Of course, most people will pick the lowest point value. Weight Watchers needs to have someone verify each entry and allow only one entry per food so we can use the correct point value. Also, we have been told that most fruits, including those in cans, are zero points as long as you drain off the juice. All of the fruits that I have scanned the barcodes on in stores show up as positive point values with no explanation. I have no clue what I can get to stay on plan.

I was very satisfied when I rejoined 2 plus weeks ago. Jerry was friendly and very helpful. And I enjoy Ann's meetings. I've known her for years from the Westfield location. However, my one concern is weigh-in. I find that when I weigh in, I don't want my loss or gain reported to me. I don't want to discuss it at all. Other people's comments, even positive ones, have derailed me in the past. So weigh-in is just a private moment I want to have. But every weigher automatically "reports" my gain or loss to me (I'm including prior experiences) either with encouragement or empathy. So if I don't want comments, I have to tell the weigher in advance, which I find awkward.
In fact, when I did tell the person I didn't want comments this past week, she agreed but then started asking me how I was doing and giving me tips, as if she assumed I was doing poorly on program. In that situation, I would have had to ask her to stop asking me all questions, but that would have been perceived as rude. And honestly, I don't want to have to work that hard (mentally) at weigh-in. I want this piece of the experience to be easier for me.
That being said, I have two ideas, in the spirit of offering solutions, not just complaints. I guess my ideal situation would be to have either a 1) "silent scale," at which people know they can just weigh in without any comments from the weigher or 2) a way for WW to note somewhere on the computer screen for the weigher that this customer prefers no reporting or comments. It would just be less awkward to not have to ask for that. Actually, I guess a third idea would be to capture the weight digitally without a weigher. Perhaps there can be a scale station where you scan your id and then have the scale capture the weight, like auto checkout at the store. WW has become so tech friendly that I bet that would be possible and would improve my experience. Thanks for listening.

I think there is great science behind the points system, and accountability to attending the meetings. On the con side, I do not like the new freestyle program--I came here for definition--not to guess--I wanted foolproof--I wouldn't be here if I was a good judge of feeling full. I don't like the politics shared on Connect and the bullying style if you have a counter thought to them.

I started Weight Watchers around July through September 2017 and was successful on the Smart Points Plus program. I discontinued due to being in between jobs. When my income started picking up, I picked up WW again the beginning of January 2018 on the Freestyle program. I was stagnant in weight loss for 3 out of 4 weeks. I decided to track in a calorie counting app one week as an experiment and lost one pound that week. I came in under my recommended daily calories but over my recommended point value by 4 points a day.
I feel the Freestyle program is designed for individuals with 50+ pounds to lose who do not have a foundation of good eating habits. In my opinion, the Freestyle program is not for those of us who have less than 20 pounds to lose and already understand healthy foods, but need an accountability to not overeat on the occasional treat or carb. I wish there was an option to go back to the Smart Points Plus program. I will be cancelling my Weight Watchers Freestyle subscription.

I started out on WW doing the Smart Points plan and lost quite of bit weight and was feeling great, everything I ate was accounted for. Then they switched to Freestyle plan and now foods that are high in calories are zero points but it’s not giving me a balance, I was told to eat till I was full not stuffed and I did so. I was allowed 34 pts a day and I would usually consume 27-30 a day. I worked out 4-5 days a week and ended up with 60 extra points and 28 fit points. I would seldom use those extra points. I cut out sugar drinks, fast food & limited my alcohol intake to 2 times a month. But I would eat lean ground turkey, eggs, bananas, apples on top of my 34 daily pts. When I counted my caloric intake at the end of the day I was well into the 2300-2500 range. I’m a larger guy and have a bigger appetite hence why I was overweight. It’s irresponsible to make a food zero points.
All foods should be accounted for, I can eat 3 turkey burgers a day on this plan which that alone is 1400 calories and not use any points, but then eat the equivalent of 14 slices of bread with my 34 daily points. If the Freestyle works for some people that’s great, but it’s not a good plan for people with overeating disorders. I just don’t understand why the company can’t have the option between Freestyle and SmartPoints. I will be canceling and using a free Fooducate app. Most weight loss apps account for any good consumed.

Like most members on here, I had reached lifetime on previous versions of this program. FreeStyle is not working. I am gaining/losing the same 4 pounds since December. I log faithfully, always within my blue dots, never touch my weeklies. I’m active, get my water in etc etc. When I contact, chat or talk to a leader they ask you “are you eating too many FreeStyle foods”? Of course not. I want to lose weight and I KNOW fruit still has calories, as does all the freestyle foods. I even log all of my freestyle points too. There are days I feel weak, faint, and feel like I don’t get enough calories when I input into MyFitnessPal.
My point is...why are we paying for a program where each member is having to try to figure this all out. We are modifying our points to try to lose, downloading other apps, or manually switching back to what we know works. Yes, if you have a lot of weight to lose, I’m sure FreeStyle may work short term. But when boredom hits that will change. Bingers will binge again on “modified cheesecake” or 2 ingredient bagels. I’m tired of feeling weak and not losing weight. I won’t be renewing my membership. Because it’s NOT working. Give us an option to switch. Or you’ll be losing a lot more people. Thanks Weight Watchers. It’s been a good run...till now.

I have been a member of Weight Watchers several times with great success. I always lost weight on the plan and kept it off for quite a while. Of course, after I ignored the plan I regained, but that is not the fault of Weight Watchers. Most recently I joined about a year ago and had a very successful 48 pound loss on Smart Points. I used Connect, used the app and was able to adapt my vegan/plant based lifestyle nicely with the plan, always checking in with a dietitian to make sure I was getting all the proper nutrition I needed. Fast forward to the implementation of Freestyle and I started to gain weight. The only newly "free" foods I could eat with my vegan/plant based lifestyle were beans, edamame, tofu and corn (and veggies of course). The problem is that I had not been eating 7-10 points of comparable foods on Smart Points.
My daily nutrition needs are different than a meat/egg/dairy eating individual because I need to use "points" to make sure I am getting my Omegas, vitamin B and vitamin D (at the least) and straight vitamins are not necessarily the healthiest way to ingest these nutrients. Also, it is not necessarily healthy to be consuming large portions of soy, due to the hormones, so I try to limit that to 2-3 servings a week. This left me with corn (Which tastes great, but let's face it has very little nutritional value) and beans. Adding beans to every meal was my only option to really stay full. Not only did I gain weight, but the sodium content was causing me to bloat. I think someone needs to look very carefully at this program. I was able to easily adapt Smart Points to fit my lifestyle but even my dietitian can't figure out how I can do it in a safe manner with Freestyle. This new plan simply ignores anyone in my position.

I have been a Weight Watcher member since 2009; I have been Lifetime since 2010 after losing 50 lbs. Since that time, I have been through the program when it had a slider calculator, then moved to Points Plus, then moved to SmartPoints, SmartPoints Beyond the Scale and now, Freestyle. On Freestyle, there is only so much chicken I can eat; I don't like beans, tofu or Greek yogurt. I worked the program, I either was too hungry or out of points for the day. I feel penalized for eating "outside of the box" so to speak b/c I do eat "zero" point foods, but for Weight Watchers to claim there are over 200 "Free" foods, it's not true. A calorie is a calorie. This program is not FLEXIBLE NOR FREE.
I am very, very disappointed with the Freestyle program. At least with the SmartPoints-Beyond The Scale, there was a "lifestyle" associated with it. Not with Freestyle, sure you don't have to count the points, but again, there are a majority of foods that I eat that have points - e.g. steak, pork to BALANCE out the menu and by the time I ended the day I was into my FitPoints each and every day as my points were lowered to counteract the "FREE" foods. I don't know why Weight Watchers can't offer Smart Points along with Freestyle and Simply Filling as part of their programs. Not ONE SIZE FITS ALL. I would NOT recommend this program to someone now, last year, yes, going into this year, NO. It's not very FREEING and friendly and when I voice my opinion in my meetings, I am not very well-liked. I am considering not even going to my meetings anymore. It's not worth it. Sorry Weight Watchers - you are not WEIGHT FRIENDLY.
Updated on 06/12/2018: I have been a lifetime member for over 10 years. I have been through various different programs and I have to say, by far, this is the most dissatisfied, disappointing program that I have ever encountered. Not only can I maintain my weight, but I have gained on Freestyle. Well, no longer...I have lapsed my lifetime membership as I only feel discouraged when I go to meetings and feel that it no longer serves my well-being. When Weight Watchers talks about "Wellness," well, they should take into consideration not everyone can be on Freestyle due to other medical conditions (i.e. blood pressure, diabetes) and there is no "one fix" that fits everyone. I now belong with a Facebook group called, "Returnto30," and track via iTrackBites app.
When I have tried to talk to others, I'm told, "I'm doing it wrong," "I'm not tracking correctly" or "Just Give It Time." I have done all of those things, and to no avail. I know how to track and I know what I am doing - I am a grown adult and for someone to be condescending to me is not very good for a "Wellness" company. I give up - this company is just looking out for the mighty dollar and who cares about the ones that can't or won't do it or it doesn't work for them. I used to recommend this company to others, I no longer speak openly about it. I can't recommend something that I don't use anymore.

I'm a lifetime member. I've gone through many retooled programs in the past decade with success. This new program is restrictive in carbs & sugar and focused on consuming more protein. Any program that restricts macronutrients is not sustainable in the long run. (But maybe a moneymaker for a company who has return customers.) I started Freestyle in December 2017. I have barely lost anything and I am very good about eating protein, veggies and fruits. Seems like too many calories to be able to lose weight even though I am not over-eating. I enjoy the food on the program, but I don't think I'll ever lose. I also spin and/or get 10k plus steps everyday. Quite frustrated that I am paying $20/month for this.

It really upsets me to have to give 1 star to WW as WW used to be one of the few companies that actually delivered on what they set out to do. I have been through a few plan changes on WW and have LOVED them all. There has never been a change that took me long to adjust to. I went through the changes without skipping a beat. The reason the new plan, Freestyle, is such a disaster is because for the first time ever, WW has become any other diet. The appeal of WW was that you can make it fit your life. They encouraged you to eat healthier by giving high points to unhealthy things and lower points to the healthy stuff. But you had the choice and the more you wanted to eat, the healthier you had to eat. They gave up what set them apart. The new plan is failing so many people for many different reasons.
Some people are overeating, some are under eating. Other people have allergies and have lost points in exchange for things they can't eat. Others, like myself, are now feeling like we are on a diet. I have been double tracking and on Freestyle, even when I eat chicken, beans, eggs, greek yogurt, fruits and vegetables during the day, it still isn't good enough. I have been evaluating my tracking and have found the I have a pretty balanced diet. But I do not eat perfectly "clean". I still love my pasta and small snacks with low points throughout the day. Yet every day, I have to use weeklies. Which means the new "rollover" feature is useless to me. Then it leaves me with no weeklies for planned events on weekends since I have to use them throughout the week for a regular, balanced daily food intake.
The fact that they want me to give up a reasonable snack every single day just to eat more 0 point foods literally makes my stomach turn. There is no shortage of diets that tell you what to eat. This is what set WW apart. They knew being obese was not healthy and knew it was hard for most people to change their diet overnight or that most people aren't really interested in eating perfectly clean. All of the past plans have addressed that issue and now have done away with it. Making it just like every other diet out there.
Freestyle should have replaced Simply Filling. They should have kept one program with less tracking and one program for everyone who needs more options on what to spend their points on. I have always raved about WW. The other day my friend finally wanted to join but I told her about a third party app that had the old plan. Now we are both on there. My membership ends in late March and unless they add Beyond the Scale back by either doing away with simply filling or just adding it as a third option, I just can't stick around.

I have been a Weight Watchers member since March 2017. I had lost 30 pounds using the Smart Points program, and I loved it. I encouraged several people to join. I had planned to stay in the program for life. Then WW changed to the Freestyle program. I really tried to like the Freestyle program, but it does not work for me. The reason why I think that it doesn’t work is because I feel deprived after lunch. I usually only eat meat for lunch or dinner, so I am almost out of points after oatmeal and lunch. On Smart Points I could treat myself to a treat sometimes because I had 30 points a day. Now with only 23 points, not much room for a cookie or two. I am canceling my membership for now. But I will consider rejoining if they go back to Smart Points. How can corn, beans and extra lean turkey and peppers be zero points. I had a gain after eating that.

We never enjoy losing a member and would love the opportunity to speak with you privately, Shirley. Our Resolution Team will message you shortly.

I am very unhappy with the new Freestyle program, along with so many others, apparently. Smartpoints BTS was a very realistic, viable and sensible, lifelong plan of eating. Freestyle does not work for me. It's like a weird diet now. Free is not a free-for-all! Can you imagine how many people out there are now eating 6-egg omelets because whole eggs are now 0? Beans and corn, the starch heavies with a considerable amount of calories per serving -- as healthy as they are -- you know people are now dumping 1-2 cups on their plates to eat because it's free!! No wonder why people are gaining and some of these people have health issues acerbated by this program change. The low daily points assignment makes you easily blow through a day, and then you are forced to turn to tofu/chicken breast/seafood/eggs/beans to keep trying to fill you up for the rest of it. Sorry, but that is a lot of extra calories.
Smartpoints BTS was very balanced and sensible, and I could live with it. The loss of daily points in the new Freestyle program -- which I did NOT sign up for --felt like an absolute punitive slap in the face for a person like me who struggles with emotional eating and portion control. I pay WW a boatload of money, and I did NOT sign up for this crazy program change.
A lot of us members are deeply unhappy. I personally feel this is purely a profit-driven move by WW Corp because they know the new plan is actually more restrictive and more people will fail/take longer to reach goal. Maybe in their actual revenue projections, they thought Smartpoints was 'too successful' of a program with more people reaching Lifetime status than they had anticipated. Don't forget, there's no money to be made on people in Lifetime status. I believe they just pulled off the biggest deception tactic, frankly. The only reason I am hanging on right now (by a thread) is because of my leader and my friend who is doing this with me. I have heard stories from other WW groups that members are feeling bullied or shushed by WW when they bring up their concerns.
I don't care if WW 'claims' they are using the latest scientific research. If they were TRULY using scientific research, they would stop doing the following: Promoting chemically-laden fat free crap and their chemically-laden packaged food crap; Stop vilifying the nutritional benefits of incredibly healthy foods like avocado (salmon is now 0 pts, why not avocado); Advocate portion control and stop preaching the Freestyle lie. Free isn't a free-for-all; Give us a choice in the plan that works best for US, not for WW profit coffers. Very disappointed. Shame on you WW!!

Like so many others my story starts in August 2016. I lost almost 30 pounds. I heard about Freestyle and was excited for a change. As soon as I could I started program - 10 pounds higher. I'm so disappointed in WW. One day how can an omelet with 2 eggs and FF cheese be 5 points to the next day being 0 points, white chicken chili 4 points to 1 point. Sure foods are zero points and you're told to eat in moderation and you don't have to track. High carb foods are 0?!
I tracked my zero point foods. Ate a variety and used daily points. And I gained. I measured my zero point foods to a serving. What is wrong with the new program? It's not working for me and I'm trying. I have been off and on WW since the birth of my second child 21 years ago! I'm very disappointed on the new plan. Members should be given the option to choose plan. We shouldn't feel like we have to hide and not get support if we go back to old program. Yes change can be good but not when you are seeing so many gaining.

I lost 38 lbs using the Smart Points system. It worked better for me than earlier Weight Watchers programs. My doctor was very happy with my health and blood work. I came to believe I'd be able to lose the last 20 lbs. Enter Freestyle. I'm trying to give it time to work, but my 6 lb weight gain calls for drastic action. I'm thinking of trying to fake the Smart Points system on the site so I can still use the site's other features. I'd be constantly over the Freestyle point counts, so my progress would look bad on the site, but perhaps I'd be losing weight again.
I've tried the Chat feature to get help from others. (The Chat feature kicked me out of my conversations a couple of times. Glitchy!) I wish there was a way to revert back to Smart Points. I'm only using ConsumerAffairs' site to write this review because I can't figure out how to do one on the WW site. I'm so unhappy I was willing to risk getting put on another site's e-mail list, something I vigorously avoid doing!

I'd like to start off by saying that Weight Watchers has been extremely beneficial to me in the past. I joined under PP, and was able to lose weight. I rejoined with SP after having a baby. Both plans, although different, worked well and provided structure with freedom of choice. Freedom on how members disperse their points towards food is what made WW superior to all the other diet programs out there. Then comes Freestyle. This program is AWFUL for me and thousands of others out there. This program no longer separates you from all the others. I've spent my time on Freestyle starving, experiencing a severe lack of energy, and horrible headaches.
My calories intake had nose dived and it was making me physically ill. I hated feeling like I had to eat eggs, beans and chicken every day (foods that I don't like to eat every day). With the loss of 7 points, it was hard to incorporate any other kind of healthy food into my day. Long story short, my choices were stripped away and it felt like a diet, not the touted lifestyle change. You have alienated a large portion of your members with this plan. You have also pulled the rug out from thousands of people who overeat and have very little control.
They paid you for the ability to have parameters. Please consider adding plan options to WW. 1 - Beyond The Scale Smart Points for people who want "true" freedom of choice and who need the structure and accountability of tracking. 2 - Freestyle for those who are looking for less tracking and structure. 3 - Simply Filling for those who want to do clean eating and not track. Doing this will open your customer base to people from all walks of life and dietary needs. Thank you.

I joined Weight Watchers (WW) in July 2017. I weighed 270 pounds and my long term goal was to lose 110 pounds. From July to the end of November 2017, WW was using the SmartPoints program. I went to my meeting every week, tracked everything I ate, exercised daily and also tracked that. I would go over my points 1-2 days a week but never exceeded the weekly extra points. I lost 55 pounds from July to the end of November.
The first week of December 2017, WW enacted the new plan Freestyle. I still attended my weekly meetings, tracked all my food intake and exercise and for the last 2 full months I have lost no more weight. I am still at 215, some days a little more. What I've found is that I may lose 2 pounds one week and the next week I'll gain it back, all while still staying within my daily points range, again, with 1-2 days going over, but NEVER exceeding the weekly bank. I exercise now more than ever in hopes that maybe that was the problem. It's not.
At my meetings I weigh in and I have voiced my frustration again and again with the new program and the attendants are very kind and sympathetic, but all they can say is keep trying, drink more water, have you been eating boneless skinless chicken breast? Why, yes, I have. And I drink plenty of water and have been doing so since July. What is so infuriating to me is that I'm not someone starting at the beginning of the year, not understanding the program. No, I've stuck with this a while and I'm loyal as I can be and have praised WW to everyone who asks how I lost those 55 pounds. But I can't do that anymore. I'm still obese and the new program simply DOES NOT WORK for me. I am not cheating on it. I am averaging 12,000 steps a day, so I honestly think the problem is not me.
I have begged online and at meetings for an option to get the old program back, even if it's only for tracking purposes. I'm fine with the meetings touting Freestyle, that's cool. But I can't seem to fathom why a program that says it cares about the health and wellbeing of its members would take away, with no possible means of us reclaiming, the old program that was working exceptionally well for so many people. Listen, I do not want to quit. I appreciate the community aspect of WW, it's brilliant. I am sincerely writing this in hopes that there's some way I can get the SmartPoints program back -- again, even if it's only on the app -- I would be over the moon happy with that. I'm asking on behalf of my health. I still have a lot of weight to lose and I'd like to do it with WW.

Not loving Freestyle - I had reached Goal and Lifetime on the former plan. First month on Freestyle, I almost didn't make my Lifetime weigh in. Although my daily points has dropped 7 points, I found I ate a lot more than what would have been 7 points on the old plan in now "free" foods. For instance, on the old plan, I would never have eaten several full eggs a day because the points would have put me over my dailies.
On Freestyle, I found myself eating 3 eggs as a "snack" since they were now 0 points, and lo and behold, I gained weight - weight I had consistently kept off under the old plan for almost a year. I asked for help, and they said to prevail on this new plan I needed to not eat if I felt full. Which sounds great, and yes, I agree, but I have trouble binge eating -- which is why I became a Weight Watcher, for accountability so I would STOP binging. This new plan feeds my binge-tendencies because I get "free" foods that on the old plan weren't free, and my lack of self control/not needing be accountable for more foods now isn't working out so well, at least for me and my food issues. In order to keep my Lifetime status, I've essentially ignored this new plan and am doing my own thing on the old plan. If I were not Lifetime and had to pay for this, I'd cancel.

I’ve been on and off Weight Watchers for the last 15 years and have always done well on the program. I lost 80 lbs after my first child almost effortlessly following previous iterations of the program. Weight Watchers went and changed the program to Freestyle and I’ve had nothing but frustration. I’ve either gained, not lost at all, or lost a tiny amount. For January, I followed the program faithfully for 30 days with no indulgences except two glass of wine for the entire month. Did cardio and strength training.
Lost only 4 lbs. which is half the weight I lost in a month on the old program. My husband was shocked that I didn’t lose 8-9 lbs considering how much effort I put in. This program does NOT WORK! We need portion control not a free for all. Yet at the same time, it is too restrictive. You have to live off of beans and eggs or you’ll go hungry. The members are all “hacking” the free Greek yogurt with sugar free pudding mixes to make it palatable. This is not healthy and is not teaching good habits at all!
There is a Facebook page with over 6,500 members helping each other go back to the old program. 6500 people cannot be wrong. I can see how this works if you’re going from eating fast food all day to grilled chicken and Greek yogurt. But for those of us already eating healthy, all it did was lower our points into starvation mode or force us to eat a ton of beans and chicken without measuring or being accountable. This is the worst program I’ve ever been on and I am close to canceling along with the 6500 members on the Return to 30 Facebook page.

In December 2017 WW introduced the Freestyle Program. What a disaster! I have not lost an ounce since! I keep gaining 2lbs and losing 2lbs. I need structure, I cannot be trusted to eat only a serving size of anything without being accountable for it. I like chicken, eggs, beans, corn and yogurt, but I cannot live on them. I love bread, a good steak, spaghetti!
With only 23 points, I could go through almost half of them with my preferred breakfast of an English Muffin with a bit of peanut butter and jelly. I ate this breakfast a lot and ENJOYED it! At lunchtime I would have a light wrap with some ham and cheese, baked chips, some veggies and a fruit, I was always satisfied, and I felt like I could eat what my family was having for dinner. This new program is not for me, I enjoyed the app and everything that came with it, but now it's useless to me and I will be canceling my membership. I'm so disappointed in WW. I have been on WW since January, 2014 and have found it to be an invaluable tool to lose weight and manage weight gains after vacations/holidays/stress. Also, I am a practicing nurse practitioner in a family practice and have so believed in the program, that I regularly recommended WW to my patients who needed to lose weight. I was able to lose 20lb easily, (1-2 lbs/week, like clockwork), as long as I followed the PointsPlus and then SmartPoints plans. I was a little annoyed when PP evolved to SP, but had to admit, the program did "nudge" me to healthier choices and I was better for it and still able to steadily lose weight by just staying within my points allotment.
So when the Freestyle rolled out, I went with it happily b/c, heck, if they were right about SmartPoints, Freestyle would be fine. Losing the daily points was no big deal, I could work with it... as long as I could lose weight when I needed to. Well... after more than a month of faithfully, carefully following Freestyle, I can confidently say, it doesn't work to lose weight. The best I can do is maintain my weight, but often I have had small weight gains. I think it would work for people who need to lose large amounts of weight, but it simply doesn't work for people w/ smaller amounts.
I reached out to online support staff, and of course, they assumed that I was overeating, (I'm not). I've found some online resources that will help me piece together a PP or SP program, so hopefully can get back on track that way, but it's frustrating that I don't have access to a program that actually supports my needs. Oh, and I no longer recommend WW to my patients who need to lose weight, I really couldn't in good faith. It will be interesting to see how the change plays out over the next 6 months. I'll watch for the next iteration, but as far as Freestyle? I'm out!

I lost over 100 pounds and felt great. I am no longer diabetic thanks to the weight loss and SmartPoints. SmartPoints encouraged you to eat smartly just as the name implied.
Then came along Freestyle which has been a huge disappointment. If I had mastered the art of portion control, I would not need to be at Weight Watchers. Now they tell me that I do not have to count beans, corn, eggs and numerous other items. This was not good for me. I am now eating more carbs and thus craving more carbs and feel out of control. I was Weight Watchers' biggest cheerleader until Freestyle came along. The old system taught good habits and encouraged balance. The new system trusts people who joined a weight loss program, presumably because they need structure and guidance, to just figure it out on their own with a range of foods they can supposedly eat without tracking or measuring. It’s a clumsy attempt at a high-protein, low-carb diet that still allows carby foods, like fruit. Even when measuring the “free” foods, I still either gained weight or lost nothing.
To make matters worse, when I have tried to reach out for help, I constantly get disconnected. I am now tracking on an alternative app that mimics the old system. I would love to stay with Weight Watchers, and I’m giving them time to figure something out, but if I don’t see an improvement in a month or so, I’ll quit. If Freestyle works for some people, great. But, the rest of us should have a choice. People with weight problems are often food addicts, searching for a reasonable and structured way of getting help. To take that structure and support away from people looking to overcome their addiction is unfair. Please, fix the issue.

Every day I go over my 23 points. This plan leaves no room for flexibility. It allows for a lot more protein but buying meat, poultry and fish can be expensive not to mention it gets boring. If I decide to squeeze in a few chocolate chips for my sweet tooth, I automatically go over my 23 points. There is no room for flexibility. The 30 points plus plan was so much better. I lost weight on that plan and rarely went over my points. Please, please make some changes to this plan or allow your members to go back to 30 points plus.

I really tried to work with Freestyle, but, it just doesn't fit for me. I would like to know if you seriously considered members health issues, both physical and mental. Including eating disorders, that we're maintaining with Beyond the Scale, by tracking every bite. Or a diabetic that was doing so well, meds were reduced or removed, now struggling for balance. What happen to track every bite? That has been the mantra of every well known weight loss program. Now WW, is telling us, we don't have to track zero foods. And maybe the leaders weren't trained enough to really guide members, as they seem to be encouraging members to eat all the new zero foods. I've seen a recipe that includes 5 large cans of various beans and a couple chicken breast, and it's ONLY 1 sp... So how many calories are in the food, and how much did this person eat because of the Free food.
I have already downloaded another app. Today it was so much easier to record what I ate. I plan to cancel my online membership. Not sure yet about meetings. I am less than 30lbs to returning to lifetime. But what does that really mean for me when I want to use Beyond the Scale vs Freestyle. Sorry, just can't be real excited about WW. I understand there's a period of adjustment, but I think you should note, that most of the people posting have given FS an adequate try. Emotionally it has placed a division of sorts between members. Something that doesn't have a place where we have all felt safe. So weight watchers, what are you going to do? You are losing members by the thousands each week.

I joined Weight Watchers June 2017. Between June & December, I lost 50 lbs. Loved SmartPoints and especially loved our meeting leader. About the time Freestyle was starting, Weight Watchers dismissed (Fired) our leader, still don’t know why, but I was still sticking with them because of the great Results. I loved learning how & what to eat. I loved the structure. Then Freestyle was introduced. I began gaining weight. I was trying to work with the plan, but it simply wasn’t working for me. Sorry, but I’m not willing to sacrifice my loss, nor am I willing to pay for something that simply does not work for me. SmartPoints gave everyone the freedom to eat what they liked and how they liked with guidance. Freestyle does not have that structure I need. It’s not a one-size-fits-all world and we should have choices. For me, I’m sticking with the old plan...on my own. It’s my choice. I don’t understand why they felt the need to change something that was working.

I hate the Freestyle program as do many of my friends. I had lost 38 Pounds as of December, 2017, but cannot seem to stay on this new program nor am I losing weight. In fact, I’ve gained 6 lbs. and they are not coming off on the Freestyle plan. How can Weight Watchers, which has been in business for over 50 years, say that this program is the best option when they only spent five months researching it? Or at least that’s what they told me when I called corporate in December.
What if you have allergies? I am allergic to eggs. What if you cannot stand white meat? I don’t like white meat. Yet, I am forced to eat them in order to keep my points down if I remain on this program. Also, I am not supposed to have more than 3 to 4 eggs per week due to my cholesterol problems. Yet, in order to keep the points down, I am forced to eat eggs, white meat, seafood, not that I mind it because I like all of it, but having to concentrate all of my meals around what Weight Watchers tells me I should be eating is not working for me. And the “low points eggs” are not good for me.
None of us who hate this program have access to the old program nor does Weight Watchers care that many of us would rather have it back. I feel like they should give us an option. I feel like they’re trying to force us to eat only the foods that they want us to eat In order to keep up with the old Atkins diet or South Beach diet (which push more proteins). It’s just not working for a lot of us... And not only those of us who were used to the old smart points program but were forced to switch to freestyle... i.e. I have a friend who started the program only two weeks ago and she says she’s already bored with it.
Since Weight Watchers says that they have always gone out of their way to listen to their members and to try to make them happy, I wish that they would read the posts of the people who actually cannot stand this new program. We will be forced to go somewhere else and find a better program. Maybe when they start losing money they’ll go back to the drawing board. Although I think that they should do it before that happens, especially since Weight Watchers prides themselves on “listening” to their members. I don’t think they do. Whenever I go to weigh in, and they ask me how I like the program, and I tell them that I do not like it, do you know what their response is? It’s “Oh, really?”. And that’s it. Great. I’m glad they really care about how disappointed many of us are.
As someone who has been on diets many, many times over the years and has obviously had a problem maintaining weight, the old program was something that worked so well for me. I kept the weight off for a year. But, what Weight Watchers does not understand is that for people like me, who always yo-yo up-and-down, the old program never felt like a diet. You could “sneak in” your guilty pleasures while also counting points yet would not gain weight. That is impossible now since they reduced our points from 30 down to 23 per day.
With the freestyle program, there is no room for guilty pleasures that will fit into our daily routine. We continually feel like we are on a diet which was never supposed to be the point. If I feel like I’m on a diet for the rest of my life, this will not work for me and I will not have success. I have posted this critique on many sites and blogs but does anyone know of an address where I could send my critique to someone who really cares? It’s just not getting to the powers that be.

We would never want you to feel discouraged or unsuccessful on Freestyle, Jamie. We will reach out to you privately.

I have been using Weight Watchers on and off (mostly on) since 2005. Usually after the holidays I hop back on WW and am able to lose weight until I reach my goal again. Overall I have been very happy... until Freestyle. I went back on WW in April 2017 and have lost 20lbs. I was only 5lbs away from my goal when Freestyle was introduced. The loss of 7 points was awful for me because I do not eat a lot of the food on the zero point list. I am constantly hungry. I was okay with using a few points for corn and chicken. Now I feel really restricted. I am eating the same, but eating less and gaining weight. I even tried adding more zero point foods into my diet and I still have not had luck. This has been very discouraging for me. I even upped my exercise to help, but still no results. I really wish I could go back to the old program.

Freestyle is not "Free" -- only is if you can exist on skinless chicken breasts, fish, veggies, and beans. Was losing weight on SmartPoints, but always starving on fewer points with "Free"style. WW taught me how to eat right, but threw it all out the window with the "Free"style program. I used to track calories, but beans (zero points under "Free"style) are loaded with calories. And I now eat lots of them to try to feel full. Chatted with a WW rep today who stuck with the party line and didn't seem to care about my situation. I have stopped tracking because I want to eat right to lose weight and don't want to lose the freedom that the SmartPoints program gave me. Next step for me is to quit WW (stop giving them my hard-earned $$) because they messed up, won't admit it, and now are trying to make me drink their Kool-Aid.

I started with Smart Points at the end of September 2017 and totally enjoyed the program. Tracking for me was never an issue and overeating never an issue. I lost weight on a regular basis and was always excited to go to the meetings. Starting with Freestyle I have not lost very much weight. In fact I am lucky if I lose anything. I stick to my points and always track my foods even the zero ones. Not sure why I am not losing like on the old program. Very disappointed and not sure what to do. If I continue not to lose I will consider quitting and doing the old program on my own.

I rejoined Weight Watchers in April 2017 and was able to lose 55 pounds on the SmartPoints program. I was almost at my goal weight and on my way to lifetime. Since the change to Freestyle I have gained 4 pounds. I was excited to see the addition of 0 point foods and was excited to try it out. It feels very limited and forces you to eat chicken, beans, eggs, and fish. Those were not staples in my eating before the new program. I have found that I am snacking more on 0 point foods and that I have had more headaches in the last three weeks.
I wish I had the option to return to the previous points program. It was working for me and I recommended Weight Watchers to many friends and family members. I now feel bad and embarrassed that I recommended a program that is no longer working for me. I have decided that I need a change and will no longer be able to follow the new program and am working on modifying the program to something I can follow.

When I turned 30 last year, I decided to give myself the gift of becoming healthy. Having success on Weight Watchers in the past, I decided to join once again. I moved the course of 11 months, Smart Points Beyond the Scale helped me lose 40 pounds. I was elated. Then came FreeStyle. For six weeks, I have bounced the same three pounds around. I feel bloated, hungry, and like the freedom I had with Smart Points was a thing of the past. I felt like I was on a diet vs. achieving a lifestyle change.
I don’t know who decided this program change was in the best interest of paying customers, but they were very wrong. I even attempted to reach out to customer service and was essentially told by a customer service representative I was doing the plan incorrectly and that I just didn’t understand how it worked. I understand what works for me and this new plan certainly isn’t it. I plan to cancel my membership and resume using the Smart Points option via another tracker. Until WW fixes its customer service and actually listens to its clientele, I will not be back.

I have been a Weight Watchers subscriber for many years. With the PointsPlus program I lost 72 pounds. When the plan changed to SmartPoints, I struggled a bit at first but eventually caught on and ran with it. With the new Freestyle program, I am extremely disappointed. This is more of a 'diet' than a lifestyle. I have lost 7 points per day, and I am expected to eat zero point foods to compensate. I don't eat much of these foods, so I feel I have no place with Weight Watchers anymore.
I work lots of overtime and although it may not be the healthiest thing, I have to rely on convenience foods. There's no time to cook. This makes me it impossible for me to stay within my 23 points a day. In turn, I feel like a failure. I feel that if I am paying almost $45.00 per month, I should have the choice of a plan that works for me. If not, I'm throwing my money away. I'm very disappointed in Weight Watchers and I am thinking seriously of cancelling my membership. I can't sit through meetings centered around a plan that is setting me up for failure.

I had lost 55 pounds with WW Smart Points Beyond The Scale from Feb. 2017 to Dec. 2017. I bragged about WW to everyone! Gladly paid every month and used my tracker vigilantly. Then, they switched to Freestyle and I tried - followed it, didn't go crazy with the Zero Point items, and kept gaining weight- a little here and there but gaining. IF I discussed it on the boards or WW sites, I got accused of not following the plan, of eating too many zero points foods, etc.
Told to stick to the plan, to control my portions, to... It was all my fault. So I went back to the original SP BTS and in ten days have lost over 3 pounds. Eggs, yogurt, beans- don't work for me. Well, today, I canceled my membership- tired of the accusations, the blame, etc. I hate losing the app, the online support but WW took it away with their new plan and because they are no longer willing to listen to those of us having issues with Freestyle.

I joined WW about twenty years ago and had success. I lost 50 lbs. and was able to keep it off. Yes, I gained ten lbs., lost ten lbs. through the years but still have been a pretty disciplined eater. So this past Christmas season I had gained ten lbs. (Damn Christmas cookies!!) I really wanted to lose that. I kept seeing the new Freestyle ad on TV and it intrigued me. I signed up two weeks ago and I'm already down 3 lbs. I love this program because it really is how I normally eat anyway. Yes, I only have 23 points a day, but I haven't been hungry at all. I also haven't used all my daily points on this plan. I have made a few changes so I don't blow my daily budget but this is a great plan for me. I am a veggie/fruit lover so this is right up my alley. I am a big believer in giving myself one cheat day a week. I will continue to do that. I stay disciplined with that mindset. I've read the other reviews on here. It seems you either love it or hate it.
I only signed up for one month, I wasn't sure I would like this plan. Now that I'm on it, I may stay on it. I really like holding myself accountable for what I eat. I would suggest if you are reading this, if you aren't sure if this is right for you, DON'T sign up for a long-term commitment. The one month sign up is NO cancellation fee. You just have to call to cancel before the month is up or they will continue your membership. You can always keep your membership going if you decide you like it. I would also say if you are not a big veggie/fruit lover this may not be for you.

Dear WW, by now you should realize that about 90% of members or more are very dissatisfied with Freestyle. I was very successful on SmartPoints, lost 33 lbs. I ate everything I wanted and liked by counting it out. I was a little skeptical with the Freestyle rollout, stocked up on what I needed and worked it almost to a "T". The only thing I lost in 4 weeks...was 4 weeks! And I was hungry! During this time I also had 2 episodes of lightheadedness with the shakes. So...not thinking too much of it I just ate more, over my 23, and gradually felt better.
BUT, listen up WW...in the last 2 weeks while reading thru hundreds of Facebook postings there has been 10, yes 10 stories of lightheadedness, agitation, jitters and at least 2 cases of flat out people fainting! One Leader had to leave her class in the middle of the meeting and go in the back to eat something with sugar. Think what could happen if someone was driving or out in the street alone. Please do the responsible thing and dump this unsustainable program, your members are quitting droves and you are stressing out your Leaders and staff who have to promote it to unhappy members. You are losing credibility! Thank you.

I joined WW January 2017 and was successful on SmartPoints Beyond The Scale. December 2017 WW changed the plan to Freestyle. Freestyle is a DIET. It is not a sustainable lifestyle. The advertising is smoke and mirrors. Most of the advertised zero point foods were already zero points. Added to the list were some very high carb foods and high protein foods. Supposedly no one overeats these foods. Not true. Advertising claims eating out is easier. Not true.
There is not enough structure with FS. I vacillated between undereating because you don't have to eat all your points or worry about blue dots, and overeating because I'd eaten so many zero point foods in addition to my 23 points. This plan may work for people who do not need a weight loss plan, but does not work for those who do. I request WW offer SP BTS as a choice on the app. Many of us are manipulating the app to maintenance and manually adding points for the new zero point foods. We are paying members and should not have to do that.

I joined Weight Watchers in July of 2016. I initially lost 38lbs and it was the easiest, most recommended program I’ve ever done. For the first time in my life, I was able to lose weight and managed to keep it off UNTIL the Freestyle program. Since this program started, I have had 7 points taken away from me and given some free foods. The problem is I can’t stand the free foods. I used to eat a flavored, sugar free yogurt for breakfast and chicken thighs was my go to dinner. Having the 7 points taken away from me, my yogurt is 4 points... while everyone else who can stomach fat free plain yogurt get it for 0 points. My chicken thighs are 4 points for 4 ounces, while everyone else who likes white meat chicken... get that for 0 points.
This programs has now become a struggle and is no longer something I’m successful at. To pay 45.00 a month when I can’t stand the diet has now become an issue. Paying 20.00 a month for an app that is not accurate for someone wanting to do the smart points program seems ridiculous also. Actually, paying 20.00 a month for ANY app is ridiculous. Most apps, you purchase and it’s yours. Not so with Weight Watchers. At least if the app could be used for freestyle for those that like it OR for smart points for those that like it... it’s much more appealing.
Unless something changes soon, I’ll be canceling my membership. As it is... I’ve been paying for months... only to be constantly failing at it. Enough is enough. I tried to call corporate, and it seems they don’t really don’t care... just apologized and asked me if I’d like to cancel. Wow... spending 45.00 a month for the last 19 months and having no one really care is pretty disgusting. So much for customer service.

As a person who has successfully lost weight on other WW programs, it does sadden me to write this review. However, I am very disappointed in the new Freestyle program. I rejoined because my weight had started to creep up from when I reached my goal 15 years ago. The difference for me between now and then is that now I am a Type 2 Diabetic. The new programs 0 point food list is filled with foods that send a diabetic's blood sugar through the roof!! The 2 major offenders are beans and fruit. I know that everyone thinks that beans are this amazing superfood, but if you look at the carb content in beans it is super high and that is what diabetics have to watch carefully.
And for fruit, I am limited to a small serving of fruit once a day so I don’t get much satiety from that. After trying it for the last 7 weeks diligently, I can tell you that for me to stay in my 23 points range, I have to eat mainly eggs, lean meat and vegetables in order to manage my diabetes. I have always believed that Weight Watchers was on the cutting edge of health and wellness, but not with this program. Surprising since Diabetes is on such a rapid increase in North America. To end this on a positive note, I will say the meetings and sense of community is still just as awesome as it was 15 years ago. Just not sure I want to continue with this path in order to lose 15 pounds. Would like to suggest that WW inquire if people have Diabetes upon signing up.

Like many others, I was extremely successful losing weight after beginning the program in May '17. From the start of the program I consistently lost weight, without feeling deprived. It was fun to figure out the best strategy for using my points. I never felt deprived, was truly making a healthy lifestyle change, and regularly bragged about the program to friends because it worked so well. I even opted to ease up and just maintain my weight in November and December, because I had so many events planned and knew, with full confidence, that I would continue on with my weight loss after they ended. Boy was I in for a rude awakening. Freestyle was released just as I ready to get to work again. I've struggled and have lost no weight since it began.
I've been quite discouraged because so many have said how WONDERFUL the new program is. I thought I must be crazy and doing something wrong. So this week I truly buckled down and came in under 23 points every day for the last 7 days. The result? Gained weight! I've learned the definition of crazy is paying $20/month to feel bad about myself every morning. I've noticed WW has responded wanting to talk to several of those who posted. It's curious to me that I cannot find this kind of assistance through the website I pay to access but I'd be happy to talk with anyone if they can help.
